Samsung Galaxy Light - User Reviews

  • I originally bought and used this phone, then gave it to my wife. She used it for a few years, then I gave her an upgrade, but I have it again and using the original battery!

  • It's a cute lil' budget phone from back in the day.

  • did you find a solution?

  • Can I use 2600mAh Battery for Samsung Galaxy Exhibit SGH - T599N MetroPCS for my Sumsung SGH - T399N?

  • my sgh-t399 is too slow and when you put it on it will only display the name Samsung Galaxy light SGH-T399 and will never come on. what is wrong and how can I get it to work.

  • Actually you really dont know what youre talking about because you obviously havent been in high school recently based on your opinion of the sgl because we in fact need it at school to take pictures of notes, taking online quizes, recieving reminders in the form of text messages, etc.. And i literally have closed out EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY APPS, set it to the lowest brightness, and put it on silent and it still dies before i even reach the last period of the day. This phone is beyond inferior to the technologies we have today and is a shit phone. There is no other way to describe it

  • Sarah, by simply turning off your phone OR disabling ALL apps you don't absolutely need while at school including Facebook, Snap Chat, etc., etc., not only will you be more productive at school (the reason we all attend school) but as a bonus, your phone battery will work just fine when school is out. When you either turn your phone back on OR when you re-enable the power hungry apps mentioned above, anything you MIGHT have missed will show up when you actually need them... after school.

  • my sgl's battery dies too quickly. I start school at like 7:30ish and come home at 5. I have no way of texting anyone how I am getting home because it is always dead. in addition, the filters on snapchat don't work and those are really important to me so, yeah. please, anyone else having these issues or solved them help me.

  • Did some one sent a signal to my phone and knock o while using the What Apps feature or programme? How can i get this fixed?

  • i was just starting to use the phone in a conversation using the what apps when the phone buzzed and then when dead , i have been placing it on the charger and all it is showing is the, battery as nearly charged but the phone screen remains black and would no activate, is my phone dead or can it be reactivated? what cause this problem in the first place?

  • My Samsung Galaxy light is overheating often and can't charge when it gets too hot. What did you do to solve the problem. What causing the overheating? Thanks for speaking your mind and have a good day. Love, light and peace, CJ

  • I cant use my phone on texting and calling even if i have load, cant use internet unless i have wifi,i donth think it cant read my sim network cause it display on the menu if its smart sun or globe...a friend of mine told me maybe signal is the prob, what am i going to do?when i register it it shows cannot register to network, when i try to call it shows no network found, and every minute theres a popup shows cannot able to process wait until network found...i cant even move my apps to my memory card, when i take pictures and try to move it on my memory it shows unable to move,it really sucks, help me what to do please...

  • My cell don't ring and I don't get text messages only if i'm talking on the cell, been dealing with this for 11 days now. Really need help.

  • you can flash Android 5 to the phone using Odin. I did it and it is debloated, has 6gb of space available, and it runs pretty fast (i can run GTA: San Andreas with no problems)

  • It seems that the phone he sent to you is locked to only use a certain cell provider. You are going to have to buy an unlock pin, which will let you use any provider.

  • This phone absolutely fucking sucks. I'm actually typing this from my SGL and had to retype 8 words already because of the cramped keyboard. I've had freezing problems, overheaying problems and they're so bad that my phone heated up to 154.7°F and this is very bad for VR. I wasted $200 on a VR Box VR headset and since it doesn't have a gyroscope, it just stays there. So, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE

  • That Phone is a Contraption big contraption i had this contraption yes samsung has their sucky phone with a sucky design and an outdated OS this is a Contraption that no body likes it looks like a clone of that S3 like what are they are thinking of making a Contraption phone with a terrible lag resolution when playing a game especially EMULATORS i cant play it confortably and is very slower i know 1.4 GHz but slower than the LG 1.2 GHz dang you Samsung This phone has a very disgusting feeling that awful feel of that contraption outdated machine. Good thing i abandoned now its sitting there stuck with the metro PCS logo with no start ups this is the most buggiest android machine that i wver owned this is served as a temporary android contraption. This Horrible contraption is laggy buggier and very slow plus its very outdated come on are they any updated OS already Samsung must update their Horrible Contraptions.

  • you have simlocked phone.

  • my uncle sent me a SAMSUNG galaxy from USA. I am in sierra Leone. when i inserted a Sim card, the are asking me fo sim network unlock pin. what is the sim network unlock pin?

  • I got one last month and it works perfect!!! It's a great phone, nice size and weight. Runs fast... Recommended.

  • The phone works fine. It does what I need it to do. It's a great "phone" (clear and loud if needed) Everything else is go as well. I would recommend it to anybody that wants a decent smartphone. Cheers, Frank

  • My galaxy was really well when I left Arequipa to cothauasi, after staying a day or two was crashing the net, and my chip no longer worked, because this already failing or recognize the chip and says not registered to the network, I can do?.

  • My Galaxy lite has delayed messages. I may get messages 2-4 days later and sometimes they duplicate. Most times, my sent messages fail. What's the problem?

  • You get what you pay for. Unfortunately, I paid for two of these. That means that I have experienced every problem posted twice. This phone is aweful, and the fake posts here really stick out.

  • SOOOOOOOO SLOW M8 my turtle is faster than this phone

  • Delete your Subway Surfer because it runs in the background very hard. Also, delete the files that you don't need. Turn off the app that you don't use by pressing the home button for about 3 seconds, then select the bottom right button.

  • For those that complain the battery drains fast or the cell phone runs slow. Do the following: 1. Stop running multiple apps at the same time by pressing the home button and select the right bottom on the screen. 2. Force stop the apps the constantly running in the back ground by selecting setting->More->Storage->Used Space->applications. 3. Turn off the Wifi, GPS, Blue tooth and Sync when you don't need them. 4. Turn on Power Saving. 5. Move the video, music, pictures and personal files to Micor-Sd cards 6. Delete Cached data and advertisement data After all these work, you will free up a lot of Device Storage, CPU work load and Ram work load, which in turn, use a lot less battery juice.

  • Worst phone I ever owned! I HATE this phone. This phone automatically sent several of my contacts to a text spam folder and I was unable to receive text messages from them for over a month until someone finally figured it out. Now that that is "fixed" I can't upload any photos. This phone is a total P.O.S.

  • Having a hard time trying to figure out the input password for call barring. I have a toddler that doesn't always sleep through the night that loves to get mommy's phone and call people between 12 and 2 in the early mornings. So I want to turn off outgoing calls at night that way she doesn't bother anyone. Yes I know I can put a lock on my phone but she has locked me out of my phone and I have had to reset it a few times. So if anyone knows how I can figure out the input password please let me know. Thank you

  • You may have subjected your phone to moisture in the bathroom while showering. Steam or high humidity will enter and damage the phone.

  • I had this phone for a while. It was cheap and effective. I had no issues with battery. My kids would draw on it and I'd use it normally. I'd recharge it at night and I was all good. You can't bury it with apps that are constantly running in the background since it has low ram (in comparison to newer models) but that is user error, not the phone. If you want to run it like a flagship phone, buy one. If you need a cost effective phone that works and has some perks compared to its price range with a really dated camera then this is perfect.

  • It's pretty decent phone for the price. The major issue - either OS cannot be upgrades to more recent one (Jelly Bean is quite obsolete now), or simply Samsung does not bother.

  • I HATE this phone.Manual sucks, hard to navigate,Runs down EVERY f'n day & that's not even using it.My old Samsung with the Qwerty was all I needed and was only about 7 mo. old ($80??) and Metro PCS said I had to upgrade 'cause they were no longer supporting that phone. What a crock of s**t! Not a scratch on it,worked great,so why the hell do they make you upgrade?Get the KY.Then I STILL had to pay around $30. Hell, I didn't even get kissed first.

  • Had it for a year for $30 from Metro. I bought it because it was the fastest phone at that price point ATM, and its quadcore. It works well and reasonably fast if you keep its memory emptyish. Dont overload its cpu, or it will slow down like any other phone. Once I deleted all the memory hogging apps and use DU speedbooster regularly, its speed is pretty good; much faster than my old dualcore ZTE. I charge it every night, and i bought a bigger battery off the internet when the first one died. I love this phone. It does what I want it too, without too much delay. People need to take better care of their phones, then maybe they wouldnt fail so much. Idiots wanna have ten apps open at once then complain their phones are slow. Educate yourselves. This is ALMOST a galaxy S3 at a great price.

  • A terrible phone so slow. THis is after I have deleted everything but whatsap! My 2001 nokia 3210 was faster and probably still is!! Terrible, do not buy it!

  • Wow! I cannot belief the bad experiences with this phone, I got 2 Samsung galaxie light phones last year one for me and one for my son and, a year later still holding the battery charge good for 2 days, working just as good as my husband's iPhone 6 I even have wifi calls which my husband don't have. I enjoy netflex, Pandora, youtube, fb, emails, etc, name it. If this phone ever goes bad I will miss it so much, but, for now is all I need. The only thing I do different is that I always spend some money on a good quality phone case and a screen protector.

  • PLease somebody help me.... i am having trouble in PC to Phone connectivity.. My PC is not detecting my phone drivers are installing but still.. i have downloaded Kies too but still no solution..kies also not detecting my phone...i am from Pakistan i have bought this T-mob T399.... its working well but only the issue is that i am not able to connect it to my PC..

  • dear try s iii gt i9300 's battery it gives very good timing, im also using, only little trouble is back cover,

  • Good phone! ☺

  • Bought my $120 Gax ln August of 2014. Battery dies very fast and two months ago, all kinds of issues. Call a number and it would not go thru, goes back to call ended. No signal a lot of times, blocking calls that I did not set up, etc. You name it, I had a problem with it. I was still under my one year warranty and T-Mobile worked with me and called Samsung. They sent me another phone which I am sure is a refurbished phone because it had no battery, no instructions, etc. Just wrapped in plastic on a piece of cardboard. Had this phone three days and same problems are starting to occur. This phone is a POS. Don't wasted your money. For those of you who like your phone, give it time. LOL

  • I have also this problem

  • I purchased Samsung light from T-Mobile in June of 2014 because I wanted a smaller phone that would fit in my pocket. Less than 3 weeks later the phone would not hold a charge. I took it back and they said the phone was to blame and mailed me another one. I am on a 2 year contract and after one year I was having the same problem. This time I thought it was the charger. Once my phone even got very hot and shut down. I bought a new charger and still the same problem. I took it to T-Mobile but they said the warranty had expired 2 weeks prior and they didn't carry batteries and sent me to a battery store. I went there and the clerk said my original battery should have lasted 1 1/2 years at least and he didn't see anything wrong with the battery. He sold me another battery and said to hang on to the package and receipt in case the battery wasn't the problem. And now a week later my phone is no longer holding a charge for more than 4 hours even if I don't use it. So now I have to go back to T-mobile this morning and see if they can do anything for me but I'm not too optimistic. I still have almost a year on contract and owe $100 on a defective phone so I'm not sure if I'll stay with T-Mobile because the don't seem to stand behind their product. And also about the phone their were other annoyances that other people mentioned like no blinking light to let you know their is a notification and the auto correct on the keyboard is awful. I have to reread my text messages to make sure there isn't bizarre words before sending them. And sometimes I will lose a call in the middle of talking or get no bars on phone even though I'm in a major city or have to go outside to get cell reception or send text messages and the person never received them or vice versa. ):

  • oooo yes i was having this prblem tooo with this phone when i inserted sim it says sim not found or it keep on searching i know it is a country code and it can be unlocked easily it is a country code..

  • hi friends im using galaxy light, its nice phone, when i bought this phone it was on android 4.2.2, now i have updated on 4.4.2 its smother and fast in use. only one problem is that it's battery when reach on 50% then drains very quickly without using, is there any solution plz

  • Just got my Samsung Galaxy Light and I love it. Got it for only $29.95 ! This is my FIRST SMARTPHONE ever and it is quite easy to learn (found a great tutorial online). Also, Metro PCS is a fantastic deal at $30 a month for unlimited data, text and talk. First 1G only is 4 LTE speed but that is fine for me since I don't use data that much. LOVE THE PHONE.

  • Yes you can... You will want one as phone comes with 8 gb of storage.

  • love it

  • Just wanna say this thing has excellent audio quality due to having a Wolfson WM1811 DAC audio chip, like the Note 2/S3.

  • Can u save apps to the sd card?

  • this phone is not good. Battery life sucks. It constantly reboots when it slows down. It crashes a lot too. I wasted my precious $100 on this garbage.

  • If you go into your notification settings you should see something that says wake up screen when you get a call or text!

  • Uhh... why? I don't think anyone can blindly take your word for it. Anyone relatively intelligent would want to know what your evidence/reasons are for the claim that you want them to accept. So... Why?

  • Great phone for very little Money. I paid over $800 for my Galaxy Note 4 and this Phone was less than $50-. The Phone works fine and easy to use. And I added a Memory SD Card. Well worth the Money. Using it with Metro PCS on the T-Mobile Network. 4g lte

  • Um, when I get a message on this phone, it makes a noise and vibrates because I set it up to do so. None the less, there are ways to install Lollipop on this phone and then u can have this feature (it will supposedly flash your rear camera LED). The point is, u paid peanuts for this phone, and u expect it to have features of its most expensive counterparts? BTW, the samsung galaxy light is awesome! I can txt, call, and surf the web simultaneously with no lag or freezing. Never drops calls, WiFi calling is perfect, plays any and all games with no problems... even system intensive games like Madden Mobile... and I don't even have high speed data left! This phone does almost everything my old S3 did, no problem. Great phone! I have the Metro PCS phone, btw.

  • This phone sinks all the way around , if you thinking about getting one don't !!!

  • I shouldn't complain for $30 and $20-30/mo for unlimited everything, but the battery drains too fast. I do not like how the software is different from my old motorola droid original. I know it's to be expected, but it is makes it ever so slightly difficult. The autocorrect on the keyboard is downright atrocious, and I haven't seen any way of disabling it so far. I may just google that soon to find out. Honestly the price was the only reason I got this phone, because Samsung left me sour when their Tab 2 broke for my dad. That just kept rebooting with just the reboot logo.

  • just to clear up the confusion on the price of the phone metro pcs have authorized dealers and franchises another words they're crooks one will sell it to you for a hundred another for 50 another for 40 there's a metro on every corner in America just go to two or three you'll find it for 40

  • Go back to the store and they will fix it

  • The battery is most likely an anomaly. Take it to the shop you bought it and replace it for free. If you have metro pcs, you may need to find a corporate owned store as private franchisees usually avoid returns for some reason.

  • Some batteries are defective from some manufacturing hiccup. Of you JUST got the phone and noticed right away, they will replace it at a corporate store (private franchises sometimes don't do this). If it had been months, that's on you for not dealing with it immediately and is about 30 bucks. After you get a new one, please fix your review so we know that the phone is good

  • Dude your battery is dead, thankfully you can change it easily get yourself a new one cos i don't see why all the factors that drain battery are off and you still haven't figured that its dead.

  • For the price, it's not bad. But it doesn't have a front facing LED notification light! The only way to see if you have any messages of missed calls is to turn on the screen. Luxury complaint for sure, but it is majorly inconvenient! So, incredibly majorly inconvenient. To the point where I don't even take my phone places with me.

  • This inexpensive Samsung is a great buy. My Samsung Note 4 cost me $850 and does not much more than this Galaxy Light for under $50usd

  • Metro will sell the Phone without activation. Price is $48.99 Galaxy Light has good reviews.

  • I got my Samung Light 9 May 2015. Had problem one time. Phone wouldn't turn on. Reinstalled Battery and is ok. Samsung is a good Product. Also use Note 4

  • hard to understand the caller or called. Looses connection easy, for me; I made a $100 mistake. Battery is dead in 6 calls of any length. If you are in motion, expect to be disconnected.

  • Samsung Galaxy Light SGH-T399 8GB review This phone has a HORRIBLE battery. And yeah .. I am very well informed how battery can be saved & I have tried ONE & ALL possible remedies. Still I have to charge it every day & battery drains out without even talking or using internet. I have downloaded only 4 apps on it & have disabled automatic updates, dont use gps, / blutooth, / or ant thing that would consume power. have shut down mobile data, use juice defender app in aggressive mode, keep brightness to minimum level. EVEN THEN THIS MONSTER DRAINS OUT BATTERY IN stand by mode!! rest all is great about this phone :)

  • samsung galaxy light is wonderfull mobile. I m using this phonem I have no any complain from this mobile. this mobile is so pretty and I like this most. I love samsung galaxy light

  • Sounds like the battery might be bad. Does it display how full it thinks the battery is if you tap the power button just once. I have a different phone, but it displayed 0% battery fullness, but when I held the power button to turn it on, it acted like your description.

  • my phone does not want to turn on, i dont know what happend it was charging and now it turns to the galaxy logo and then it turns off again.

  • OMG... Operator error. The phone is smarter than you!

  • Like I mentioned earlier... It's an easy solution (LTE on both phones not working)... Put your house up for sale (or for renters - break your lease) and relocate to a better location. Be sure to bring your Android devices and check that the signal strength is 4G LTE... otherwise don't sign that lease agreement. See... easy fix! Tada!

  • I'm considering this phone. Are you still having problems?

  • LTE on BOTH doesn't work...? Humpfh... That's odd. Process of elimination... not likely that both handsets LTE not working. To resolve... find another house to live that has stronger network signal. It's your location not your devices.

  • SIM card locked... Has nothing to do with the phone itself. It just means you are locked out of the phone and you need a PUK code. To resolve... Call Customer Care and they will give you the PUK code.

  • You get what you pay for, but it was $249 2 years ago. By your logic, the features changed because the price is now lower.

  • hi guys when i bought galaxy light, it was on 4.2.2 and now i have installed 4.4.2 on it. now it works very good, no problem overall.on start up shows logo of metro pcs, i like it.

  • Have 2 and Lte doesn't work on either

  • Yup....you sound like a cronic nag.

  • Yes this phone is now available with MetroPCS and you can get phone for 49 plus tax but right now Metro also has a BOGO going on... you buy one you get one free. so this one was free for me! I'm one happy customer:)

  • Whats ur country... Maybe u can sell it to me..

  • Its nice looking but i have only two apps go keyboard and subway surfer And i have tons of pictures about 200 or 170 i dunno but it was working before SO AMAZING LIKE AN IPHONE but now it's crap how do i fix it?!?!?

  • I paid $249.+tx for my samsung galaxy lite 02 a year ago from tmobile. I will say it performs almost excellent. Good choice.

  • Nice phone i like it.

  • The light is a good phone. it costs about $50 for the phone and sim card at MetroPCS. Ive had mine for approx. 6 months and I haven't had a problem it besides the battery gets a little hot so I downloaded CM Clean master. Other than that it has a really good processor. and at 1.4 GHz it is well worth the money.

  • exactly you get what you pay for some peeps just don't know

  • I got the galaxy light for my daughter. We can't use it because it keeps putting up message saying sim locked and now it says sim card not inserted. What do I do? Is the phone no good?

  • Nice machine...bam..

  • Nice machine...bam..

  • I want to buy this phone but metro had told me that they don't sell the phone and I was wondering if is it just 50$ or do you have to have an account with metro an order to have that price and I also wonder if it's possible if I could just buy the phone and not activate it in the same day? Or do I have do both ^

  • I bought this on CyberMonday at the MetroPCS Store and have absolutely loved the performance of this phone. The one downer is the camera crashes too often. I have to restart the built-in camera app 2 or 3 times, on occasion. I have downloaded a 3rd Party app, which gets the job done with a lot less trouble. Other than that one blemish, the phone is an absolute gem!

  • I pd $44 @ metropcs for ours & absolutely Love it! Our very 1st cell phone & have no problems with clear calls & FB works great too...! Got phone in Dec, have always been a computer/laptop person decided to join kids & grand kids with phone :D Husband likes simple I like it all & this little phone has a lot to offer for what paid for plus can sneak up on our lil dog & video her & take pics & she doesn't hide like with camera ... k

  • I bought this phone in october of 2014 I absolutely hate it. It freezes up I get dropped calls constantly I've had MetroPCS for 4 years this phone is by far the worst phone I've ever had! The first few weeks were ok the picture quality is pretty poor amazingly enough the video recording is good it keeps erasing contacts, erasing photos it's just not a good phone it takes forever to do anything to get on the internet or even make a call. It is just a pain definitely would not recommend this phone. I'm looking into a new phone. Hope this helps you.

  • I don't know what many of these reviewers are expecting from a phone that costs less than fifty dollars. I have had a few problems with freezeups where I have to restart the phone or take out and put back in the battery to reset it and a couple of lost calls but nothing major and I don't expect the quality of a five hundred dollar phone which I would get if I could afford one. You get what you pay for and I am happy with what I got for my fifty dollars.

  • We also live in Florida, ( Jacksonville ) and looking @ same phone, so I am thinking you are so right about the location. Thanks for your input.

  • I bought this phone and have had problems especially as the internet 8 GB internal memory got close to being filled. From a previous phone I purchased. I found out a Master Cache Wipe on the galaxy light cannot be accomplished. It's a feature that is part of the Android recovery system that you do while the phone is off. I found out what that was when I purchased my first Android phone which had a low internal memory and because of having a bunch of music, which I did transfer onto an SD card I got but after a while I got a low memory and low server icon and the only way to get rid of them was by doing a master cache wipe petition. On a Galaxy light you do it when the phone is off by holding the power button down, volume button up and the menu button down. You'll see a few things go by like the name of the phone and so forth and then you'll see the Android recovery system in blue letters and with that you'll see a list of like 5 functions from reboot to master reset and one of them is wipe cash petition. When I did that it says processing and then you see error real quick at the bottom with the Android on its back its stomach open and a red triangle with an exclamation point and at the bottom of the screen it'll say error, failed. I've came across seven of these phones at various stores and sent mine back twice and the same results. Samsung told me to bring it to Best Buy and have one of their techs do a software reflash which is nothing like a software update and after the tech put it on the laptop he said it can't be done. He unplugged this phone and plugged in another samsung and showed me exactly the difference. The Samsung phone he plugged in and showed me the difference was a different Samsung and said the light is a lemon. Since most people out there don't know what a master cache wipe is if you have a galaxy light, please do this. I play guitar I would bet my left pinky finger that every galaxy light that anybody tries doing this to will fail! And if you find the same thing. Please bombard Samsung with your complaints because they said they wouldn't own up to the phone and this is all within 6 months of me buying and owning this phone. T- mobile just kept passing the buck and so forth and I've been getting the runaround. So please check this out and inundate Samsung and T- mobile with these complaints. I went out and spent good money for the accessories and I don't buy the cheap ones thatnsell for less. I'm getting a Samsung Avant of which I've heard pros and cons on but I'm getting with T Mobile postpaid and they have a lot more room to replace your phone with equal or above equal phone phone not something lesser. After replacing it twice and if it's defective and still hascthe same problem. I paid 269 for my galaxy light phone and now they're phasing out this phone with the Avant. I don't have the money to get a better phone. The Avant is practically equal to the S4. So check it out for yourself galaxy light owners. I have found out and pretty much came across this on my own by trying to do a master cache wipe. When it comes to getting rid of junk that your CM Clean Master app, which is an excellent. If anybody that doesn't have it get it for their phone from the Google play store. It's free a does alot of good for your phone but the master cash wife is 10 times better than doing the cache wipe in your settings and that frees up a lot of things with your phone like drag. So forth if you have a galaxy light you're not going to be able to do it, that is a Master Cache Wipe. If anybody out there has one where it can be done let me know, I'll be surprised. Sincerely, TS.

  • I bought the LG motion in 2013 and unfortunately it started to become outdated by mid 2014. I bought the Samsung Galaxy Light in November 2014 and it's best performance was below par with my LG Motion at it's worst performance. It keeps freezing and forcing me to remove the battery, The brightness changes sometimes without any interfering, it would take a while to make phone calls sometimes, it is very unreliable so far. It works when it wants to work. I'd say don't buy it, stick to something else for a little more next time.

  • My wife and I have had a bunch of android cell phones as well as the the Iphone. The IPhone far outperformed every single android we ever owned and I hate Apple products because they hold you hostage with their products by being unique in every aspect of operation. But, in all fairness, the Iphones work nearly flawless and their photo quality is second to none. The one and only major problem we had was when talking we were constantly told by the party on the other end of the line that they couldn't understand what we were saying because our voice audio sounded as if it was o verdriven in volume. As far as Android phones. Well, the list of problems is endless. Battery life sucks. Licks up. Slows down. Camera photo quality sucks. Dropped signals. Missed texts and calls. And on and on to no end. My choice the next time? I honestly can't say but I'm sure I will find plenty to complain about.

  • Great first phone, but battery time sucks.

  • Mine Samsung Galaxy Light was working fine until today. It doesnt work anymore....

  • I hear you, having the exact same problem and I'm pissed off.

  • My Metro LG Motion did stop working four months ago. It had been a totally reliable phone, and I prefer it to this damn Galaxy Light.

  • I have the same problem with my phone freezing up. It has become intolerable as hours have gone by when I unknowingly have missed calls.

  • i wanted a smaller phone because i hate how big phones are getting now. i wish i liked this phone but it gets slow for no reason, and freezes a lot. i dont know if it's t-mobile or what but it also likes to update apps during peak usage times and that slows EVERYTHING down

  • Have used this phone for almost 2 months. Works fine, screen looks good and I like the size of it. Performs well enough for everything I use. My guess is that this is plenty of phone for 90% of people.

  • Both my husband and I had the LG Motion, small phone but no complains, his still works after 1/1/15 no issue, I changed to Galaxy Light in November since i wanted a new phone, it is newer but no big difference, dont buy into Metro saying your old phone wont work after Jan 1st

  • Don't buy this phone. You'll be wasting your time. It's very small, horrible quality, takes horrible pictures, keyboard randomly disappears and music randomly stops. I've only had this phone for a month and it's already acting. This phone is the main reason why I decided to leave android. I JUST CAN'T TAKE THE STRESS ANYMORE.

  • I have had this phone about two months, and by now I have stopped receiving texts from 2 different contacts. I can send them, but I don't receive their messages. I bought it for $120 and now it doesn't work well. I haven't asked for a return, but I definitely will.

  • The LG Motion will no longer have service after Dec 31,2014. You'll be able to use it with Wi-Fi, but not Metro PCS. That is why they are having a huge sale on phones. I bought my Samsung Galaxy Light for only $30 after instant in-store rebates. And on that note, I've had this phone for about 2 weeks and never really had any problems. When you reset it, it states that it's Running on T-Mobile network. The only problem I've had is a few texts weren't immediately sent, but it only happened twice.

  • I live in Tampa metro ( great market )... Anyways , my dad and several other people I know have recently switched to this phone with absolutely no problems . This phone works great . Maybe its got something to do with the area you live in . Here in Pinellas/Hillsborough countys , Metros phone reception is reasonably good , with minimal dropped calls and very decent internet connections ...

  • Better keep the Motion. We bought a Galaxy Light and had to reconnect back to Lg Motion because the signal was horrible even paying the 60 dollar plan. Metro pcs has given entirely to a company (Tmobile) that is not yet ready to provide as it says to metro customers, particularly out from big cities. I wish we could do something on that phone to make it take the other towers' signals as the Lg Motion takes from CDMA ones.

  • i just bought 4 of these threw metro pcs(which gives a 7 day window to get a refund) on the 26th of November and every single one has been horrible with call signals. i drop calls all the time, went back to the store two days later(as they were not open thanksgiving) and was told that they will replace it but i had to go to another store, went there and they had to order a replacement(i had one broken out the box so i sent for one),which took over the week allowance for it to show up. so it seems i'm stuck owning a 7 inch tablets as this can hardly be called a phone when i it just wont catch a signal. when talking with metro saying how my lg motion was never dropped a call they said its because there still changing to the new T-moble network and that there signals just don't pass threw structures like buildings, houses, or cars. REALLY!!!! the new network your SWITCHING TO doesn't go threw walls, whats the point then.

  • Yea it does have Mic support for calling

  • Got this phone from metro pcs had it about 2/3 week's now I just need a phone to use till I can get my S5 switched over to metro and the phone it's nice just too small for me and it's starting to move slow and freeze up a lot and the battery life really sucks but hey I got it for cheap and it's just a temporary phone can't wait to get my S5 back or get a better bigger phone

  • For $29 at MetroPCS, you can't get a better phone. I would say it is a worthy investment for your 15 year old daughter and if she should break it or lose it you aren't out a whole lot of money.

  • Thanks for your post...very helpful and they're $29 @metropcs

  • Battery life is horrible. I have to charge it after only 5-6 hours and I seldom use it.

  • Is this phone ok?? I'm thinking of buying this for my daughter. She's 15. We like to travel. So I would like to buy a new phone. She's using Nokia Asha 501.Worth it or not?

  • Does the audio jack also have mic support? The specs do not say.

  • I have for phones three Samsungs and one galaxy out at my shop the Samsungs don't get reception the LG does

  • Miss led indicator for sms/etc. all other things are good. Good work samsung team

  • This is my phone EXACTLY! So frustrated with it. Ready to throw it at the wall.

  • i just got rid of my Lg Motion a few days ago and hate the Samsung Galaxy Lite. I am missing 1/2 of the calls and texts. The phone looks nice, great video - but watching movies in bed is not helping the calls and texts that I continuously miss. I am getting me an Iphone or something for Christmas. Sick of this nonsense.

  • v.gooood mobile...goood bettry timing

  • The camera sucks

  • What company are u with

  • What company are u with

  • I had this phone four about a month. I traded it in for a 5c. It worked great for me but when I updated to VOLTE it would not make calls. I was thinking of getting another one as a backup. After hearing all the comments I may just keep my bell S2 as a backup. I hope I will find a good deal on a tmobile Moto X 2013 because that uses a nano sim like my 5c.

  • Where and what is the update to fix this???

  • So its better than the motion?

  • I have a lg motion, good phone. But have been thinking of a galaxy light..would it really be an upgrade or should i just stick with my lg motion?

  • I have a lg motion, good phone. But have been thinking of a galaxy light..would it really be an upgrade or should i just stick with my lg motion?

  • There have been connections problems with this phone. I bought it earlier this and it would constantly loose connection. It got so bad I put it Ina drawer after a couple of months. I checked for any updates to fix this, but there was nothing. About a month ago I thought I would try again because my daughter wanted a phone, and it was pretty nice besides the connection issue. Well, it was still having that issue, but when I checked for updates there was a new one. I installed it and it has been rock solid since then. So check for updates and install if there are any. What is weird is my brother has the same phone and never had this problem.

  • I have to say for a $50.00 phone via MetroPCS its great. Its fast, its a baby S4 kind of, except not quite as nice and missing features. What do you expect for $50.00. I am loving it.............

  • This phone has been a nightmare since the day of purchase. Brought it back to the T-mobile store twice in the 1st 3 days. It wouldn't receive pictures or text. The technicians made some adjustments and now it only takes about 15 minutes for a picture to open. You can't use Wi-Fi setting, because it shuts down the phone features. You cannot receive a call the phone goes straight to voice mail. If you try to call someone, it knocks out your caller ID name and the call comes in as unknown. This only happens if the Wi-Fi is on in settings. Absolutely bizarre. You get what you pay for....

  • You sound like an Apple employee....

  • I have been reading bad reviews about this phone which to me are completely unfounded. Bad reception : Were do they live? Lost call: Again, where do you live. Battery sucks(sic): This is my third phone and the battery is just fine. Now, lets go to the point. Speed : For the price : Unbeatable. Memory: For the price : Unbeatable. And its REALLY 4g !!. If you are looking for an affordable smartphone, buy this one.

  • I bought 3 of these for my Metro PCS lines. One phone had no call reception and Metro swapped out the SIMM saying they had a bad batch of SIMMs come in. Phone works fine now. Everyone loves this phone. DD is excited by how quick the quad core is. Much nicer than her LG Motion 4G. GF says it is too thin to find in her purse and the old mother says the software is easier to use than Ice Cream was. She even figured out all be herself how to change the txt font. All in all it is a great phone for what I paid for them. I am not a Metro or T Mobile employee. If you are having a problem have your carrier swap out the SIMM or reload the phone back to factory and start over. If none of these options work swap your phone for a new one at the dealer. You should be happy with this phone if it is working properly.

  • I replaced a Coolpad, This phone is much better techwise, but I'm unable to go OnLine (internet) while talking on the phone, which I COULD do on my Coolpad, Metro tells me the updated signal Technology is to blame! Also, the scroll technology causes random typing, but OVERALL it's quicker, Good reception with METRO, better tech than Coolpad, but inconvenient I can't access . Internet during ANy phonecallx . And occassional "random" Charator insurtion is annoying. God Bless ya!

  • Ive had this phone for 2 days and i already hate it! It keeps losing data. Really sucks!

  • always buy brand new unopened galaxy light. To use full call benifit you must get good 4g coverage or change the settings in the phone.

  • I bought the phone thinking it was going to be good but i was disappointed by the second day. Dropped calls and messages came in late and most of all the 4g lte keeps cutting off called customer service and they told me that everything looks ok and my area should be covered but lost service shortly after that. Going back to my old phone

  • new hanset lanch plase, go to tunein radio & more new facility

  • This is my first and LAST so called Smart Phone. Nothing Smart about this phone. I have not had 1 incoming phone call on this thing today. Battery is full, instead of the phone resting, it shuts down, I have to start it again. Never over 2 bars for reception. The calls that I make on it, Fade in and out. I can't hear them and they can't hear me. Common sense tells me to bring it back. Oh and there is a restock fee. Hmmm need I go on.I could. Flip is it!

  • I purchased this phone in june this year and gave it 4th time service. main problems: call dropping, poor signal strength, calling party unable to hear properly, and low battery backup. I am fed up with the phone. It is not even worth 2K. Do not buy it. End of Samsung era!

  • go to tunein radio

  • The phone is OK. It has an OK performance but the battery sucks. I had to buy 2 batteries and the phone won't charge. It keeps saying "Battery Disconnected" again and again. I can never trust that the phone is fully charged because if it is charged at 100% and turn it off because it acts weird, a minute after the batter goes all the way down to 1%. It is so frustrating and I'm getting annoyed of it. I've had this for almost an year and it's been like this for almost a month. So if u want an average performance phone buy it but if u rage easily, don't buy this phone.

  • i am buy mobile Samsung galaxy light12000

  • I got this phone a week ago and have had to call customer service 3 times. Poor service and the phone is a headache. My old flip phone(HA) worked better than this.

  • I purchased this phone thinking it would be a good phone, boy was I wrong. I had a Samsung galaxy II 4G and it worked well, though the battery life was limited. I need to use wifi for calling when in my home home and frequently it shows full bars but calls do not come in to it. It drops calls frequently when I am just out on the road and using the 4g. I have complained to t-mobile and they have replaced the phone twice with the same model and the results are always the same. I have upgraded the firmware, upgraded the router firmware, and tried everything t mobile suggested and have given up as every time they tell me give us just 3 days and we will get it going, meanwhile I use it for work and am never quite sure I get the calls. I have found if I turn it off then on whenever I come home it works most of the time, though if I forget to do it when I get home I am out of luck it won't get the incoming calls. I feel ripped off.

  • Turn off LTE, Will get better signal strength.

  • Turn off LTE, Will get strong signal.

  • I have used this phone for two weeks. It's my first smartphone, but its performance is disappointing. The pre installed Navigation's voice commands stopped in the middle of my first use and never worked after that, so I tried installing TeleNav and then Scout apps...the same problem. Then it disconnected itself in cities I have previously used the phone with success, leaving me unable to make/take calls, texts, and unable to use internet. T-Mobile rep saw the 4GLTE symbol on phone disappeared and he reset it by taking the battery out.

  • I loved it personally it was an awesome phone but I ended up giving it to my brother and he loves it but most of the time it depends on the carrier

  • i would agree this has been a horrible experience calls keep dropping or there are no bars although other phones have 2 or 3 bars same service

  • I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Light and had it for about 60 days. My first Android phone and a great disappointment so much so that I took it back. I kept on losing call, calls not going through and many many times the phone would not let me make calls. My old tracfone I never had this problem with. When I took it back I was told other people had complained of the very same thing. Very disappointed!

  • Just got this phone last week. Got it for $50 at Walmart with the back to school sale on Univison Mobile box. I gave my Dad my old S2 and loving the LTE speeds on it. This is my first LTE phone have a 2013 Nexus 7 tablet. I just put the google now launcher on it runs like a Nexus now. I like the size was going to get a used s3 but really like how 4 inches fits in my pocket. I still have a galaxy exhbit as a backup if this handset gets lost or stolen.

  • My son's mother has this "galaxy light" she has been through two galaxy light and the result has been the same. Frizzy most of the times and when she turns it off it won't start right away, in my experience, just like someone wrote... all this positive feedback must be coming from t-mobile's employees or shareholders. I would rather buy something pre owned of better quality.

  • I honestly am an apple fan but this phone is ok i guess. Its good for anyone on a budget who needs a phone. Not a person who likes to take professional hd pictures..just not the quality your looking for

  • Change to GSM/WCDMA preferred in your network settings and it should solve your problem. Also, be sure to change preference to data > wifi, otherwise, it will drop calls switching between wifi and cellular.

  • T-mobile's best text/data plan is only $30, so that doesn't even make sense. A $99 phone with 5gb LTE (45mbps at my home) is as cheap a phone and plan as you can get. Period.

  • This phone has the easiest root I've ever done. 2 downloads and a single click. It will solve any and all bloat/memory/speed problems using Titanium Backup's freeze option, and Greenify's hibernate.

  • Used this for the past four months. Mostly used just for phone and for email and internet browsing. Works well enough for that, and not having to pay the price for extra features is great. Comes with plenty of bloatware that is poor, I de-activated or removed as mush as I could. I've noticed things getting slower over time, that could be T mobile's unreliable service, or I may have to do some more cache upkeeping. Considering backing up and factory resetting. Looking forward to KitKat update. Hope the phone lasts long term because I am happy with it.

  • Have had and been using phone for a month now. It's a decent phone. That's about it. It reboots itself often and if you run more than 2 or 3 apps at once the phone will noticeably slow down and sometimes crash. Sluggish, can't keep up with me.

  • Actually, it's an excellent phone, for most people on a budget, or anyone who prefers a smaller sized phone. It has a lot to offer, similar to it's big brother (feature-wise). However, If you have the money to piss away, and prefer a phablet, Galaxy Mega, Note 3, or just a big phone, such as the Galaxy S4, or S5, and don't mind the bulky phones, then this phone's not for you. It can be bought for as little as $126.00, shipped to your door now. Walmart has this phone in the Univision packaging, for $169.99 now. A T-Mobile sim card can be purchased at Walgreens for only $10.00, plus tax. A heavy duty case with belt clip & screen protector can be found cheap on Amazon.com.

  • Have used this phone for several weeks now and I feel all the positive reviews must be coming from either Samsung employees or stock holders or T-mobile employees. Anybody spending the kind of money that a T-mobile data plan requires isn't going to be very happy with this little plastic turd

  • thanks for reply

  • I have been using it for past six months. Great phone in its price category. I used S2 and HTC mytouch4gSlide before and I must say that Its faster then both. Battery is much much better. I am satisfied with the cameras and the good news is Samsung has added it in list of devices which will get KitKat Update.

  • How can you possibly believe that?!

  • I hope your right because I'm getting this phone and I want to feel like its a lot better than my galaxy s2

  • will it be in malaysia? tired of waiting huhu

  • Kit kat 4.4 is coming on it very soon

  • I think this is a good phone but the thing to set up your wallpaper gives you a little bit of room.

  • There is no built in FM radio. You have to use internet radio. That's the only downside on this phone for me. But the rest of what you get is worth living without it for me. But it's a shame. The LG Optiomus F3 does not have radio either, but the cheap T-Mobile Prism II does... go figure

  • This phone is alright, but be aware that you really do get what you pay for. The specs on paper make it seem like a very good phone, but too bad, as of right now on Android 4.2.2, it's decent at best. The TouchWiz interface Samsung puts on all of their phones is alright, but I'd ditch it for another launcher like NovaLauncher. The front facing camera is terrible. It's grainy most of the time and the pictures are just generally dark even is really good lighting. The back camera is fine, though. Decent outside, but not so hot indoors. Once past that, the phone, like I said, is decent. You can pretty much run any normal app on it. Gaming is a bit minimal and I wouldn't recommend playing any graphically intensive game on it. The screen isn't an in an HD resolution (400 x 800) and the pixel density isn't as high as the high-end phones, but the screen still gets the job done. One of the best non-HD screens I've seen on a phone. Call quality is good, too. Not to forget, the phone comes with LTE, which is pretty good depending on where you are. If you're looking for a basic smartphone and your money situation is a bit tight, I'd say go ahead. I recommend, though, giving it a try before you buy.

  • will it be available in malaysia? very pocket friendly, just like galaxy wonder

  • Look in Bluetooth manual....there is sometimes a pairing code. Mine has one...

  • This phone in 2014 is perfect. Pocket friendly with all the features one would need. I bought 3 of these phones for members of the family and so far no issues.

  • this smartphone when coming in t-mobile macedonia ??

  • I do not like this phone. Ive had it a week and it has already frozen on me a couple times. Shut off and restarted on its own 3 times. The connectivity is normally pretty good but not always. Screen is to small. I was actually looking forward to this phone but after only a week I am so irritated and frustrated with it. I am on the Jump plan so Ill probably just pay off the half I need to pay and upgrade ASAP. Very disappointed.

  • I agree. As a mobile entertainment device it's great! As a phone it's disappointing.

  • This mobile avilable in QATAR.........?

  • The Galaxy light is fast, lag free and with the worst reception I have ever had in a phone. The hand off from GSM to HSPA to LTE is awful. In low signal areas expect the battery to drain very fast as the phone cannot quite decide to just keep GSM and keeps trying to get HSPA or especially LTE. It's ability to hold signal in low moderate to low signal areas is abysmal.

  • Samsung Galaxy Light unclocked for global gsm, beacuse I like to buy this phone

  • useless without Radio. surprise being a reputed company without radio.

  • Thank you. I had a feeling about that.

  • Have used this phone for several weeks now and I feel all the positive reviews must be coming from either Samsung employees or stock holders or T-mobile employees. Anybody spending the kind of money that a T-mobile data plan requires isn't going to be very happy with this little plastic turd.

  • this is so nice smartphone, but need upgrade Android 4.4 Kit Kat, please possible as soon

  • Best kept secret. This phone has tremendous bang for the buck. I bought it for 149.00 sans contract as a more pocketable companion and back up phone to my Galaxy Note 3. Unlike the Note, It's small enough to take comfortably as a jogging buddy. It has LTE, 8gb on onboard, memory, NFC, and many other features that you don't normally find on phones of this price range. It has a standard definition screen but it's a very good one. Performance wise, it wont break any speed records but I haven't found any lags or hiccups. It's basically T-Mobile's answer to the Galaxy S4 Mini. It ships with Android 4.2.2. I hope it gets the Kit Kat update

  • Enter 4 zeros

  • Great phone, no lag.

  • Very nice phone. The battery life is great if you have the LTE/data turned off. After over 5 days my battery was still at 17%. Specs lists are incorrect about the sd card, it can use a 64gb as per the owners manual and mine is using one with no issues.

  • Does anybody know why the phone asks for a pin number when trying to link to my HMDX Rave bluetooth speaker? When I hook it up to my iPod, I just have to click on it and it connect! Any help appreciated!

  • there is any chance to make fm radio work?i'm really interesed con this phone but fm radio it's esential for my work!

  • Good phone for the price. Just don't expect an S4. This is a quad core, 1 Ghz RAM, Android 4.2.2 phone and it lives up to that quite well. I'm getting great battery life (with some tweaking), and the UI is really smooth (no lag). A couple of pitfalls, LTE signal only gets 1 to 2 bars, no notification LED, and the case is a fingerprint magnet. I recommend it, like I said though, don't expect an S4.

  • Great phone....you wont be disappointed

  • Will this model come to malaysia?

  • I like this phone but the only problem I am having is to conference two calls. I do not see or find the "Add Call" option on the Phone screen

  • Hows the phone?? is it worth the buy?

  • I just got a galaxy ligh two days ago and I love the feel and look, but it has frozen on me three times already. Really pissed off.

  • a7a

  • Who not samsung galaxy light for European market ???

  • Waiting for mine to come in the mail...found covers on EBAY....Found a nice orange color hard case that comes with screen protector..a device for flattening the bubbles on the screen protector...a stylus pen and a piece that fits in the hole to protect it from dust...all for $6.95 with free shipping...Nice selection...great prices...lots of free shipping offers

  • have it already released in malaysia? does anyone know the price?

  • this phone is the light. u talking about blaze. different phone. so which is it?

  • Highly disagree about the blaze. I have it now and it lags so much. Freezes up very frequently and it's slow reacting when you have more than 2 apps open.

  • Only Samsung can answer that unfortunately....

  • Samsung Galaxy Light SGH-T399 will do update android 4.4 kit kat ?????

  • ebay has the lowest prices on them, but Amazon has a few as well. You just have to search for "SGH-T399" instead of Galaxy Light, and they pop up.

  • This is my review of the new Samsung Galaxy Light 4G LTE off contract phone. This is currently for T-Mobile only, but I believe it could be unlocked for use on other GSM carriers. Getting to the specs, this is not at all what you would expect to get for a paltry $149.00(Home Shopping Network's price). It's packing an almost identical chipset to the one used in a Galaxy S3...no kidding. It's a Quad Core Cortex A7 1.4GHz processor with a multi core Mali 400 GPU, very, very nice. The screen is a 4" standard 800x480 resolution screen, but it is a good one. The color saturation is great, nothing is washed out or grainy, and pics and movies look great on it. What could have been a bad thing didn't turn out that bad after all. Samsung went the extra yard and sourced a high quality screen even if it isn't an HD one, good on them for doing that. The cameras are a 5 mp auto focus one on the back complete with a flash, and the front one is a 0.3mp VGA unit. Both work fine for the price paid...actually the rear facing one is pretty good. All of the pics I took with it have been good, with decent colors and good focus in all of them. Again, Samsung sourced a decent piece of kit for this phone while keeping the price really low. It also has a built in GPS, Bluetooth, NFC and the best version of TouchWiz I've ever used, it's smooth and pretty unobtrusive which is a huge improvement over older versions. Also of note is the phone ships with 50GB of free Dropbox cloud storage for two years, a nice value added option. All told, the Galaxy Light is anything but, it's a much better phone than it has a right to be for the very low price asked for it. Check it out over on HSN for a great deal(it even has a Flex Pay option, not bad at all), or over on T-Mobile's site. Highly recommended!

  • Cases for this phone are limited but available now.

  • Just got from HSN. It is a good price. You only pay 150 bucks, so should not expect to get a phone which can compete with iphone. I do not play 3d game on cell phone, so basically no lag for most of the apps.

  • I just bought it for $150 at HSN.com Specs are impressive, lets see how it works out

  • Cases are hard to find - but the there are a bunch that are kind of hidden at Amazon... Search for B00GXG8TP8 and you will get a page with a dozen plus options under $10.

  • Im using the $30 plan now with the phone.

  • Just compare the specs. Does the blaze have Quad core? LTE? NFC? 8Gb storage? 1Gb of Ram? OK I forgot how much ram the blaze had but overall the galaxy light is a legit option.

  • I have used the phone for a few days now, and I'm very impressed. It looks like a super mini S4 in person. The LTE speeds are very fast. The quad core is very fast. The galaxy light is a huge improvement over the blaze 4G most specific the 8gb storage over the blaze's 4gb. If I had any complaints at this time it would be the camera. the autofocus is very slow especially in low light conditions also the resolution is a bit low. it could be a little bit bigger screen 4 inches its really small for me but for somebody with small hands it could be a dream come true. Download speeds via LTE 30Mbs down 5Mbs up. I also noticed that the Wi-Fi was much faster than other phones or tablets in the house. I mean like Netflix click on movie and it's loaded and playing within a few seconds fast. It has exceeded my expectations so far. One last thing is that I'm on the 30 dollar 5Gb 100 minute T-Mobile prepaid plan so I've been using the full version of groove ip voip app and its been a flawless experience. I feel like the $149.99 hsn offer is one of the best offers for a tmobike device this fall.

  • t399 case on eBay. not the best cases but hopefully you will find something

  • plz tell me, can i buy this mobile? its worth?

  • I myself am farsighted and have a hard time seeing keyboards and typing. But that shouldn't be an issue.. just hit the microphone and talk. It don't get any easier than that. I never type.. always use voice command. And it never lets me down. Just speak clearly.

  • blaze is much better than light !!!!

  • Yes, search for t399 case on eBay. not too many choices, though...

  • I haven't found any yet, but it might help to know that this phone has the same dimensions as the Samsung Galaxy S Duos. However, the back of the phone looks slightly different... the mic for the Light is in a different position, so that might be an issue.

  • Yes. Check for HSN video on this phone on youtube.

  • Does anybody know what phone cases are compatible with the Galaxy Light?

  • Do anyone show video in youtube in gsmarena for this phone, applications and full specs..... ????

  • Hi! do you know if it is compatible with tmobile's 30 dollar 100 minutes unlimited data plan? HSN says its only compatible with 50,60,or 70 dollar plan.

  • I Ordered this phone on home shopping Network web site for only $149.00 no contract! I'm gonna use the phones LTE data on my current $30 5GB data plan. Im a previous owner of a blaze 4g and I expect the same size but better performance.

  • It does not have a brightness sensor, which is disappointing, as the predecessor to this phone, the galaxy s blaze, actually did have that feature. It's still not a terrible inconvenience, as there is a brightness control slider on the main drop down menu in this version of android. It only takes a brief moment to adjust and it does offer a fine level of control. Ultimately it is an acceptable sacrifice in an otherwise feature packed phone at a very low price point.

  • Great, I just bought the Samsung galaxy exhibit. Now this has basically the same size I like, but a better processor and more memory for such a great price! Hope it still has the swype text option.

  • I recommend this phone 100%! Its fast and responsive and it feels high quality with the specs and design it has for the price. It doea the same a high end device does but without breaking your fingers because of a huge screen size and your pocket because of a super expensive price.;)

  • Does anyone know how mcuh does this phone cost.I'm sure that it's not 170 everywhere. I'm looking to buy it for about 115 .

  • does the galaxy light have a light sensor to the brightness automatically?

  • $149.95 free shipping at hsn.com... tough to beat that...

  • Bought 4 of them yesterday for my family taking 4 back today to get something else keyboard is to small ugh. Everyone complaining. I will pay the 50.00 restocking fee. Get a bigger display plus it has a hard time holding 4G network. Ugh ugh

  • I just got it yesterday. It's very light, data is fast, and the interface is snappy with no lag. It seems like they delivered on the promise of a smaller phone that is not underpowered. Antutu Benchmark: 17274 That puts it nearly alongside the Samsung Galaxy S3 in terms of performance, but without being so gigantic.

  • Yes, just got the phone and it does have wifi direct.

  • Does anyone know if this has wifi-direct? Nothing mentions it, but it's such a simple feature I can't imagine why they'd skip it.
