Heat gun or hair dryer to heat the glue around the edges only. Some tools for like $5 (suction cups and picks and stuff). And a good battery, preferably original. But if you aren't precise it's best to take it to a service centre or you could crack the rear glass.

I owned this phone for 3 years. This phone and Note 5 are the best Galaxy phones made (prior to S8 and Note 8 series). All other Samsung phones and especially galaxy unlocked USA version and T-Mobile version of galaxy s7 ( just read t-mobile forums about S7) had big software issues. Galaxy S6 and Note 5 had almost no issues and didn’t slow down after few years of use.

I've had mine since 2015. Recently the battery had a cell fail which caused the back to split open which made me very nervous. I ordered a replacement battery and was able to remove the back panel without damage, then the front panel and finally I removed and replaced my battery. I reassembled it and now I am enjoying my 4 year old phone on a new battery. I am hoping the battery lasts, so far it works great. My phone looks near mint and works about the same. No slow down issues no camera issues. Great phone. I think when i do replace it though I am going with a oneplus 6t, I can't stand samsung curved screens.

Runs perfectly for me. S6 currently has a Note 8 Oreo custom rom which works well. Only camera is a bit buggy, but everything else works well. Flagship cpus can handle 6-8 major Android versions easily. It's just not profitable for phone makers to do so as people won't buy their new phones.

I still have an HTC One M7 with an old Snapdragon 600 running unofficial Android Pie perfectly. The processor of the S6 is better than Snapdragon 660 & so better than most mid-range smartphones.

Technically the Exynos 7420 in this phone is more than capable of it. For example the recently announced A30 has a 7904 which is not as powerful as the 7420 in the S6, they both have the same ram (3gb) and the A30 is running pie. So the S6 would easily handle Oreo or pie.

This is the best smartphones I've ever had, the only bad thing on it is the battery lifetime, I use a battery case and I go easy to 12 13h of battery. I have it for over 3 years, not edge one, and is perfect for me, for every day use, for all I need.

Yes it is the J7 2016 gets Oreo 8.1.0 but it's a model in the summer of 2016 when the S6 and S6 Edge appeared somewhere in early 2015! S6 has not even received the new Samsung Experience 8.1 interface!

I also own a Samsung s6 well I have been using it for 2 years and the battery drains fast. In 30mins of gaming(PUBG MOBILE), it reduced from 98% to 56% I would suggest you change the battery from the authorized store it will fix the problem.

I too wish Oreo update for S6 being a capable device even though old. Apple updates almost all capable devices, regardless of time-frame. There are only 19 Apple iPhones since the beginning whereas Samsung has 353 Android models. I am not counting tablets, watches, Windows models & Tizen models. Now you tell me, which company can provide better software support for their older models. No one purchases latest models for latest OS, they pay for the hardware, not software. To me the minimum requirement is Android, you give me any version, I would be happy even with the Android Cupcake 1.5 but the hardware has to be right and compatible. I can always root and customize to my personal satisfaction. If you cannot buy S9, S8, or Note8 buy "A series" models or from Chinese brands. If you try to buy now a new S6 or Note5, you might be getting a device which is resold / refurbished / returned / refunded. Just be careful. S6 or Note5 are superb devices even now, but you cannot get all the updates for all the devices. Yes, this will repeat with S8, S9 and further. Samsung is not losing their customers, it's in top#1 position in terms of sales since years. Regarding Note7, I appreciate Samsung the way the handled their mistake.

See even iPhone 5s/SE etc are still supported for latest ios 12.xx they are already 5+ years old Do you still think s6/note 5 are too old? Not everyone can buy s8,s9,note9 etc, this really doesn't worth to burn their hard earned money just to get android O or P if their hardware is still definitly capable(see the custom roms of higher os versions on xda for example). See note 5 has 4GB ram, same thing will happen for s7 series even for s8 for later os versions. Still no worries if samsung can't provide those updates, but I bet they deffinitly lose and already losing their valuable customers. And they already faced Karmas with note 7.

J3 is not in the Samsung Oreo update list. The latest models gets launched with the latest OS, it's about the time-frame, not about the budget. You cannot expect J3 to be launched with Kitkat and only S series to be launched with Oreo. Would you? S6 is definitely capable of Oreo, but the model is too old now, for maintenance.

There is a solution for this. Your phone's battery needs calibration. Just deplete your phone's battery, that is use your phone till it reaches 0% and gets switched off. Now charge your phone for 3 hours continuously, in switched off state. It'll be charged now until 100%. That's it, your problem solved. Now on the regular charges, your phone's battery will also cross 55%.

Had mine 3 years, Battery life is struggling, it has done a lot of work, may have been cycled 3 times every 2 days on av. The screen is still the envy of anyone who sees my beat up example, the AMOLED has left me with on intention of returning to lcd anytime. Locked standard OS 7.0 Kernel 3.10.61 is running like crap. Hope to get time to root it and replace it. Biggest disappointment with this phone is the lack of 5gHz wifi hotspot.

I don't know What's going on with my s6. It keeps restarting by itself and after a while it just gets stuck on the Samsung logo. I tried factory reset didn't budge. Has to flash it with Odin, it worked for a while then started restarting again. Sent it to Samsung office they diagnosed and said there's nothing wrong with the phone. I'm tired 😭😭😭&#128­557;

i use Marshmallow firmware, and i use s6 normal kernal, but when u change the battery u have to calibrate it like this .. -Discharge your phone fully until it turns itself off. -Turn it on again and let it turn itself off. -Plug your phone into a charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the on-screen or LED indicator says 100 percent. -Unplug your charger. -Turn your phone on. It's likely that the battery indicator won't say 100 percent, so plug the charger back in (leave your phone on) and continue charging until it says 100 percent on-screen as well. -Unplug your phone and restart it. If it doesn't say 100 percent, plug the charger back in until it says 100 percent on screen. -Repeat this cycle until it says 100 percent (or as close as you think it's going to get) when you start it up without it being plugged in. -Now, let your battery discharge all the way down to 0 percent and let your phone turn off again. -Fully charge the battery one more time without interruption and you should have reset the Android system's battery percentage. if u couldn't calibrate it, u can use the phone with 1% battery for a half day.

This is the worst phone {Galaxy S6 Edge} and worst company to deal with ever. Battery drains periodically since purchased in Sept 2017. Software reboot, then local repair analysis, then off to the remanufacture centre. Battery still drains periodically after 7 months and customer service advises it will not replace or refund the purchase price. Terrible at customer service and public relations. Does not appear to stand behind their product leaving the customer with a faulty product all with the one year warranty period.

The years make a huge difference since S6 has Android 7.0 which the Note 4 will never get. I'm not hating on the Note 4, but it's just a fact that the S6 is a better device - newer os, better ui, better build quality (Note 4 gapgate screen), faster cpu, better memory speed, better fingerprint, compatible with gear vr etc. Only thing it doesn't have compared to a Note 4 is s pen, removable battery & larger screen. It's u who is exaggerating about the Note 4. I had a Note 4 btw & I was so angry at the time that an HTC M8 performed better & had better battery life. Then the S6 came with a lighter ui & was faster than everything else. I'm saying it again S6 > Note 4

Note 4 was released in September 2014, and the S6 was March 2015 6 Month's between them isn't that different, Note 4 is a better device " IMO" why do oh hate that facts, if you don't like it then why ARE you in the user reviews section, there's no need to express your Superior knowledge on how to read a Specs Instruction manual. Like I said 4 imo especially with it's better Productivity also Buisness purposes. Also careful what you say about battery because last time I checked the Note 4 Has a 90 Hour endurance rating, rather than the S6 at 73 Hour's.

The software of the S6 is miles ahead of that of the outdated Note 4 software stuck on Android 6.0 and the Note 4 is a 3.5+ months old device as it was released in 2014. As we all know Samsung Experience is just a fancy "Theme" to match the S8, all they've done is rebranded it, Note 4 is a fab device, also how does wireless charging compensate, it's no where near as fast as using a fast charging cable, don't slag a device down because you've had experiences with it, also the S6 doesn't run samsung experience "that's a fact" if you don't believe me go and run into settings and check.

Yes I had note 4 before and 100% agree. I liked the note 4 but was lagging like hell because of thermal throtling. And that's not only the issue, the device was getting suddenly shut down on 40% battery. Those two were big issues. S6 and Note 5 both are good but TBH I noticed lagging in both these devices also, and that is when you play a heavy to medium app for a while. So, I think all phones has activate thermal throtling when got hot(on more than 50 or 60 degree temprature). So, better get best gaming console instead of paying huge on phones. Never waste your money, it'll be helpful in your difficult times. Just a mid-range phone and a best gaming console would be enough. Hope this would be helpful for many. And horrible laggy software. It doesn't have the lighter version of Samsung Experience & doesn't have themes. Note 4 has good hardware, but horrible software. It also has poor battery life, but removable battery helps. S6 has only poor battery life, but fast charging compensates a little. That's it. S6 is much faster than a Note 4

Note 4 would be My pick, avoid comments like the one below because my note 4 still works Fab, don't forget Note 4 has a removable battery, also S6 battery is the most awful I've seen on any samsung flagship, IMO samsung put far too low MAH in this device especially running a 2K screen, it's your choice but id go for the note for the Removable Battery and the SD card slot.

Yup, got it as well. S6 128GB from the UK. It brought the security updates date to March 2018 but nothing else (that I could see anyways). Guess this is the last update for the S6? I'll hold onto it for the remainder of the year and see how it goes before thinking of replacing.

Hopefully you backed up your phone before you did the update. If so you can do a factory reset and then download from your backup. You will then probably need to do the update again as it would appear that it was not done successfully. By the way what version did you just update to? I previously had an s6 for 2 years and it was excellent.

The primary purpose of using a Mobile is to Receive or Dial a Call. We believe that these facilities can be used till the end of that product. Only after satisfying these conditions, we pay our hard earned money to buy this product. In my opinion as a second phone or if you consider it a midranger and your not a heavy user then probably yes it's still holds its own amongst samsungs.You can pick an s6 up fairly cheap now even when compared to an a3 17 ,it's still much better except for battery .even against the a5 17 it still does relatively well ,it will certainly play games better and has a better rear camera and j series ,why consider with s6 is still overall better.just remember to take your fast charger with you .You still get wireless charging .samsung pay.samsung pass .blue light filter etc But moving away from samsung with Huawei. Nougat is available for most unlocked models. U can use an official Samsung update manager for windows computer to try updating or Use a computer program called Odin to update manually. Here's a YouTube guide U need to select the firmware for your model number only

Battery will last u about 1 day maximum. Since u don't game, I think the battery will be enough for u. It takes excellent photos & videos, but 32gb might be not enough. It doesn't have microsd, so try to get the 64gb version. Or u can make use of a dual otg usb drive like I do with the 32gb version. BTW its screen doesn't display very good whites. Check it since u like to surf internet I'd say go for it. The gold & white colours look best I think. Be sure to update it to Android 7.0 before installing apps etc!

I don't think the SGS6 is worth buying as of today. It apparently has shitty battery life. The LG G5 sounds like a much better deal, as you're basically only sacrifying that OLED screen, and gaining performance, sweet wide angle camera and significantly better battery life. Do more research before buying a Galaxy S6 in 2018 folks.

I can confirm my icon misalignment has rectified itself. The affected apps (all Samsung apps) were updated via the Galaxy Store. I assume it messed something up. A quick restart fixed the problem. The issue with the weather and music app widgets however are extant. The S7 Edge battery mod on the S6 is a well-documented DIY process on the interwebs. Coincidentally I'm in Korea now and will drop by a Samsung Service Store and see if they can do this for me (rather than me risking breaking the back glass). Going from 2550mAh to 3200mAh is a hefty jump, more so as they still sell brand new S7 Edge batteries here still (all genuine to boot). Might make my rear glass transparent while I'm there...

Only posting this because hopefully Samsung goes through public forums such as these when looking for bugs. Since the November security update the Samsung app icons have been slightly misaligned in the apps drawer (doesn't seem to be happening for Google / other apps). This misalignment also exists in widgets on the homescreen panes (weather and music - these are lower down than they should be when placed on the top of the homescreen panes). These haven't been fixed with the December security update that I recently received. The widget for Samsung Music app also seems to be displaying album art with the incorrect aspect ratio (this was fixed in mid 2016 but it's back). Generally though my S6 (128GB variant) is doing well. Will be interested in the Oreo update and how it goes. At this point the battery is showing its age and I'm contemplating the S7 Edge battery mod to increase the life of my S6.

Great camera (picture quality), better than brand new Huawei Mate 10 Pro and no worse than iPhoneX it seems, and it runs Android 7.0 now in December 2017. BUT it's battery does not last a full day (not even when it was new) if you use your phone for anything other than calls. And camera is slow to start at times, which might make you lose photo opportunities. Also missing microSD and would like dual SIM :)

using a german sim card for 5 minutes (make a simple call) should unlock the device automatically for regions outside europe, otherwise you need the unlock code from samsungs germany service

I used this phone for 2.5 years, first time I updated was 1.5 years ago, the second/recent update made the phone useless, the phone crashed and doesnt boot up. Same happened to my family member 2 weeks after. This phone has his qualities, but dont expect to use it for long since samsung make sensitive phones nowadays. max 2-3 years.

Have S6, global version, european on contract for atleast 1 year more, 1 year old. Came with android 6.0.1, updated up to latest android nougat 7.0 version, stock, no root, nothing. Volte is off, my operator doesnt sussport it. Always on LTE coverage. Signal at 2/3 bars most the time. Had before iphone 5S ios 10.3 version at the same time with my s6. Anyway.. 1. Battery life is terrible, 2.30hrs to 3.40hrs screen on time, just surfing internet, facebook, meybe some youtube. All sync is off, gps, sharing, and simiral stuff off. Display set to auto, 30% dim. Uses wifi. No gaming. No calls or sms. Thats really terible battery perfomance these days when other phones can offer better life of battery. Ewan that iphone 5s can reach 7-8hrs screen on time wia surfing internet, facebook, some youtube. 2. Samsung interface over stock android. Samsung UI is terrible, outdated and slugish. Looks overral terible and childish. 3. Speaker quality is good. Has bass and mids, highs, overral its a good speaker. 4. Screen is just to good, looks the same as s8/note8 or iphone x has. 5. The phone is durable as no one else have been ewa before, droped like 6 times on the road and nothing, some demage on the edges and thats it, no cracks or somthing. Quality of the phone is good. Really good. 6. Camera is top notch to. Same as what todays latest smartphones has for 700euros. Nothing really new. Sensor is still capable to do hes job just perfectly. Is it worth to buy in 2017/2018 ? No and again No. Because of bad battery life - quad hd screen amoled eats it up and hardly, bad lte antennas conectivity also eats battery a lot and slugish and full of bloatware samsung ui android eats its battery to. Better to go for iphone 6s/SE 32GB models minimum or huawei p9, p10/lite . But if u want samsung then go for A5 2017 model, simiral price to s6 and design. If have money then for s7 edge with 3600mah battery. Good device to.

Nice first look video. It did seem to be a bit hazy about cabling. Today I am looking up options that use USBc cabling. I remember the GS5 was USB3 micro. I will look a little further for cabling and WiFi compatibilities. Upgrading the house to MiMo AC, Phones and tabs will have to be 11.ac, and USB3.1c. No looking back. Nice video, pretty phone. I think this is possibly the worst phone I have ever had and I am only halfway through mu 24 month contract. Almost since day one it has had moments of freezing and/or overheating. (This with both phones bought at the same time for 2 family members) Battery drains very fast and I actually hate that you can't replace the battery. Also hate that you can't add more memory... Just use Samsung's Game Tuner & put Resolution to 50% & FPS to 60 & Texture to 100% & HW(if present) to lowest value. It makes game run smoother, better & use less battery while preventing overheating! Unfortunately u can't adjust resolution for Internet as it crashes the app. Use Opera Mini. It's lighter.

Yes you do have to restrict things to get decent battery life, I bring a power pack and give it boost at lunchtime. Don't like s7 as much in design and hate s8 but commend Sammy for keeping headphone jack and sd slot.

Sorry for delay reply... Each model of phone do have its advantage and disadvantage. Not all phone model are build to the same spec and features, etc. In other words, some model can have better signal receiver than others. So there is not much you can do as it depend on the phone model too. For me having several models, i can simply tell you this in this way.

I have had the S6 for almost 2 years now. At first I could Facebook and game on it for large portions of the day and not need to worry about the charge. Now if I use it like that, I find myself needing a charge by late afternoon. So it all depends on how the phone has been used. If used nicely, the battery should still be good. I have abused my phone's battery, and it's still doing OK, so overall I would say they used a good quality battery in these phones.

I'd go with the A5 (2017) true. it's a little weaker. but there's memory expansion and it's water resistant. (s6 is not) 3. Purely your decision. Yes! Totally agree with Bilal. With android 7 it's bit fast. First 3days(after upgrade 7) u will notice battery usage high. After it will automatically optimise. Sd card & back cam pop up outside is my main disadvantage. Brought it 2015 still no issues.

I am an s6 owner since it's launch. It is still holding up pretty well. I mean battery life is around 10% shorter now then it was when it was new, but that's quite normal since I am a heavy user. I say go for the s6. It might be a bit cheaper but I guarantee the biold quality is certainly better and the display is amazing. Go for the s6 even if it's a bit more expensive. The only problem I encountered is not being able to save tons of pictures, since it doesn't support an SD-card. Otherwise, I dare say it's a perfect phone, at least for me.

Having owned a Galaxy S3 years ago around 2009-10 then a S4,S5 ive always had Android. Wipes the floor with Iphone OS anyday. I buy alot of Galaxies with cracked or broken screens then refurb them. I know Galaxy S8 is released now but i have to admit i use the S6 and its the fastest phone ive ever used. Ive turned down numerous cheap S7 and S6 edge phones as i love my S6. again it was bought with cracked screen both front and back, i fixed the glass and kept it for myself. the camera is very clear and pixel density is awesome. If you get hold of one of these phones keep it!. Very well built robust phone.

You can do it yourself. Go to Settings -> Smart Manager From here, you can clear all the apps using the RAM. Most apps will be on standby after using, hence use RAM. Do note not to do it all the time, as some apps still require to be left alone, running. Another Best method is to click on the Recent button (left of Home button) and clear all apps. Play with the Settings as most of it is available and for your own convenience.

I have no such issues with Samsung. Have one CRT Samsung tv that predates SCART, it is over 20 years old ans still works. Second CRT tv is 10 years old, also works. Have no experience with LCD / LED Samsung tv. Galaxy S2, 6 years old, still works, only battery is not that great. Galaxy S4 mini, 3 years now, still works. And now I use S6, 1 year old, no issues.

DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS. I own more 7 samsung devices and so far every single samsung device I own has a faulty. My s6 phone is now not charging and this now the 6th time this has happened, I have sent my phone to be repaired and the problem still keeps to be happening. One of the tablets I own has been crashing since day one of buying it and the other tablet I own loads everything very slowly and I have had this one less than year. The TV I own constantly gets a green line across it and I have this just over a year. The washing machine does not drain correctly. This is less than 6 months old. And this is just a small number of the problems I have with their products and the list goes on. I have contacted samsung to not have a replacement handset as clearly the handset is faulty. They refused to replace the handset and simple do not care about their customers or the faulty products they sell them. This has really made be rethink and I am now selling all samsung products and now buying the next best selling product. I hope this comment helps you and you really think about if you want to buy a faulty product that is constantly going to break.

After nougat update on O2 I have noticed a bit more lag especially on the notification bar on pull down. I have done factory reset. I guess we have to wait for the little software updates (security patches, system performance improvements) in order for it to get better.

So I've had the Nougat update for two weeks. Some impressions in that time: - I had to factory reset due to issues with Play Services (nil app issues now) - Overall performance seems to have decreased (I am seeing some lags in system animation, notably in the stock Gallery app) - Battery life is a mixed bag. My standby time has decreased (losing around 10% every 7 hours of standby), however when I am actually using the phone the battery life seems unchanged. Some additional background processes maybe? - Camera performance, notably low-light, seems to have gotten worse. On Marshmallow the low-light performance was actually quite good, but with Nougat there is a lot more noise. That and, the Nougat camera app shows some lags, and looks (and feels) childish with all the swiping (Marshmallow was more 'mature' in that regard). Overall the update is definitely usable. That said, if I knew what I know now with the Nougat update, I would have stayed on Marshmallow. Hope that helps some people still on the fence.

Software upgrade do not necessary will definitely improve on using the phone. Some apps may not work, some issues do pop-up. As in any upgrade, should there be a problem then saved the data. Proceed to do Factory Reset, as this will resolved problems encountered after upgrade. This could also be due to that some upgrade is for a particular model variant, which may not be for your phone. Safe to upgrade is via OTA or thru phone Setting -> About device -> Update. For apps, do refer to the apps developer for the update. Do check the notification on the signal bars strength and whether it indicate 4G, H+, 3G. If it keep switching between H+ and 3G &or missing, it mean the signal is no good. If it is in one location, do check with your Telecom on this location signal. Other option is to go to Setting -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names. Ensure the APN setting are correct or not by either contact your Telecom support or reset the APN, which may be available in the Telecom website including facebook. At the same time check with your Telecom on whether they have VoLTE. S6 do have this feature as Voice over LTE, meaning that while you are talking on the phone and you can do surf internet at the same time. It is similar to HD voice. Signal strength do use much battery power. If it is poor signal, battery would be drain faster. Normal before going out, i check the battery % and if below 50%, i put to charge using the original battery charger with fast charge. To know if it is a fast charger, there are 2 output voltage. It will able to charge 60% in 30 minutes, hence enough battery to use for the day. I do not use power bank due to the heat issue. Fast charge is better and safer.

Some minor issues on my G920F (128GB UK unbranded). There are some quirks on my S6 and Nougat that I didn't see before but that's more focused on apps getting updated as well. While I dont have any battery issues I am seeing some stuttering on animation. Also having problems with Play Services everytime I open Gmail. I alsp noticed RAM management isnt as good as before. Will give mine a factory reset to see if that helps (which I expect it will). Aside from the above I am happy; the update is perfectly usable.

I will tell you my honest review about the Nougat update on the S6. I had a blue Saphire S6 for about a year and sold it, got few devices after it but bought again an S6 because it was the best device i've ever had, i just love it. When i powered it up it was on LP, so i updated it to MM then got another OTA, it was Nougat. In term of speed , looks and performance, nougat update is just awesome, it's like you got a new phone believe me, but this week im planning to downgrade to MM, why ? Battery life, nougat update decreased the S6 battery life for about 35% which is horrible, specially on idle, i get a 1-2 % drain per hour with data and wifi off !!! So guys, if you dont care about looks and want a phone with *decent* battery life stay on MM,it's already great, but if you don't mind charging your phone 2-3 times a day ( yes sometimes 3 times a day ! ) then update it. Hope it helps you guys,have a nice day.

Got a 320MB update a week ago (have the 920F variant). Noticed some icon design changes and the security patch is now dated to 1st February 2017 (from October 2016). Still on Marshmallow and I noticed better RAM management. Saw some issues with battery level indication (ie my phone was at 1% battery, put on the charger for a few seconds and remove, stayed on 6% for around 30 minutes of calling before it suddenly hit 1% again). I think people need to relax and just wait. Regardless of your excuses for always wanting the latest and greatest, seriously, people these days just ain't thankful enough.

I had 2 S5 of different models with 16GB & 32GB storage. The S5 32GB was notify me on update is ready. After updating the S5 32GB and i force update on S5 16GB. S5 16GB then start to have problems. You may have an active virus/spyware in the folders. After reset, open each folder and check for which files you do not know about. But the best is to clear all folders, except those files you have personally saved. Other unknown files, delete them. If the folder is for an app, never mind, delete it and when you install it, it will create as new. Most of the time, reset do not mean you have completely removed virus/spyware. Most app's folders may not be deleted properly, and somehow the virus/spyware may store it in those app's folders. That is why you did not do a totally clean-up of your phone storage. Coming from the S5 used it for 3 years and loved it. Went to the S6, had it for 6 months and it overheated to the point that it fried parts inside. Thank goodness it wasn't plugged in or left alone. Sent it in for warranty, had to be sent to a 3rd party for repairs and they said it was user fault.(conveniently) Therefore it is not under warranty. All this has taken 3 weeks phone isn't fixed and won't be. Nice Samsung thanks for honouring your warranty and putting the customer 1st. Beware of this phone, don't leave it unattended, the Note isn't the only one with fire issues.

I may never buy Samsung again. I have done factory resets at least three times in the past month. Everytime I reset it - it is because I get several hundred requests to try this, try that, your memory is damaged, the memory is full. All of these have sub-programs associated that install and then things get worse. I have tried everything I can think of, remove notifications remove programs, etc. etc. and nothing seems to work. In your case, you may have to filter to set important email address as priority. Most options are available in the setting --> email account --> options & notification, etc. The email system may tend to understand which email address are important as by knowing which are frequently used &or communicated. This is a learning process, and once you are familiar how it work, then by always "sync" will delivery those email address often used &or important to you, instead for all messages. As when using computer to sort and remove those unnecessary spam messages.

The issue is on the "Sync". First, you may need to understand how Gmail work. (as example on any webmail) Gmail messages are store physically in the website, Gmail server. When someone send you a message, your Gmail will received and store it. When you use computer to log in and view your messages. These messages are NOT download to your computer. Any action, such as; delete, read, send,; these will take immediate effect. There is no action on the computer as it do not have &or store all these messages. On mobile phone. When you enable, "Sync" the Gmail on the phone. Once there is a connection, either thru mobile data or wireless, this "sync" will auto DOWNLOAD messages (which is not available) to your mobile phone. If your phone is always Online, which enable mobile data &or wireless. Any message receive in the Gmail server will also be download to your phone. Incoming message --->>> Gmail server --->>> mobile phone "Online". Conclusion. Computer do not save any messages as any action is active &or live. Any changes made will be reflect in the Gmail server of your account. But in the mobile phone, whenever any message arrived, it will be saved in your phone. It is not 2-ways, but only ONE way, that is to download messages not available on your phone. So, by enable "SYNC" and if the connection is ONLINE, messages arrived in Gmail server will be send and download to your phone. But if you do not "sync" your Gmail account. So, when you at this moment to sync your Gmail account, your messages will then be download to the phone. If you had made some deletion in the computer earlier, you will not have those messages that were deleted in the phone. The ANSWER to your solution is to turn OFF the "sync" on the mobile phone for Gmail. Btw, any messages deleted will be found in the Trash folder of the Gmail. Only spam messages will be deleted from the Gmail server. Hope this will clarify on your current problem.

The receipt must be available to get warranty. But if the model is less than a year, there is no issue. Retailer & Telco(s) do not bother about retrieving the receipt, just for you, as it had already being archived. I did asked Telco on the same day of purchase, as i lost it while shopping. Don't you think you should inform yourself a bit better before you bought S6? On EVERY review out there its stated as one of the biggest negative points that it doesn't have SD card slot. I mean when I was thinking what phone to take, it was one of the biggest things that gave advantage to the LG G4 I also considered to buy. But I like Samsung's hardware home button and the volume keys on the side (G4 has on screen buttons and volume keys on the back) more than the fact that it doesn't have SD card slot. Before I got S6 I had S4 mini 8GB + 32GB card and that was enough for me, so "only" 32GB is ok for me. Anyway, you have USB OTG support (works like a charm) on the S6. Just don't blame Samsung because you didn't reed the spec sheet where it clearly stands "micro SD card slot: NO".

Despite all those negative disadvantages of the Galaxy S6, the first few positive features, that I noticed and I waited years for, when I went to the tech shop, are: • Ability to view more camera modes without scrolling (but the opposite actually happened to the settings) • Slow motion video recording in real-time and with sound! Finally‼ (one of Samsung's biggest improvements) • Camera quick launcher (Sony's physical shutter button is something the GT-i8000 had and I really miss it. The camera quick launcher of the S6 with Lollipop (TouchWiz NatureUX V5) actually worked much better than the one from Marshmallow (TouchWiz NatureUX6) (I will state more details about that later) • Flashlight torch shortcut from quick toggle settings | despite that part of the user interface was messed up on NatureUX 5 and fixed with NatureUX 6, a flashlight shortcut was something iOS 7 had in it's new control center, which could be called by sliding up from the bottom of the screen. The flashlight could be altered even while the camera is running, while that was not possible on iOS. For the S6 (and S7 with Marshmallow pre-installed), the torch shortcut will be blocked while the camera is running. This makes it impossible to alter the flashlight for burst shots and DURlNG video recording. Actually, Sony's HOMANi camera user interface offers the torch setting during video recording. HTC also can do that. Take an example from the Sony HandyCam FDR-AX33p (or AXP33), where some camera settings can be adjusted during video recording. Some settings such as resolution, framerate and bitrate can not be altered during video recording. It would be good, if it could be adjusted during video recording, but apply automatically for the next time, and the ability to discard those changes before the video recording has ended. Since Android Marshmallow for Samsung phones (the HTC One M9 also had that for Lollipop, like Nokia 108 and Samsung Omnia i8000 too): the pause/record button could be pressed without any delay. You could press it as many times as you can press the iPhone's shutter key (only if exposure time is short enough) per second, and it would also react. The Galaxy S7 also could preserve close to zero shutter lag. But as far as I know, to achieve that, the camera application needs to be excluded from all power saving procedures. The camera application should not be affected by power saving anyways, and only supported MultiWindow on the Note 4, where that glorious legacy mulWin tray was available, which had many advantages over the new system since S6. But since Android Marshmallow on S6, pressing the multi window icon on the recnet task switcher (fortunately no longer limited to 14/16 applications, but since Marshmellow affected by the rotation of the background app, which can actually be locked by tapping and holding the screen), does not cause that application to be added to the running application, but a completely new multi window session will be started. Additionally, the Galaxy S7 will disable zero shutter lag, if the battery temperature thereshold (probably 25 degrees of celsius.).

Very disappointed to now find out after the purchase of the Samsung 6 that we cannot have an SD card or add memory. I have started to accumulate things I want to keep and now my phone is giving me all these stupid messages and telling me my ram is full etc. this should have been told by Samsung and optus who supplied the phone that this option was not available. Fast charge mean when charging for 30 minutes, it can charge to 40% of the battery. I always do fast charge in the morning, as i takes about 30 minutes to go out. There is no such thins as fakes, as those who make the fakes cannot use the actual logo & other wording as Samsung will sue for copyright issues. The issue is because it cannot be used in certain countries. This is why handset manufacturer have to make several models for S6. For example: S6 Select the "Specifications" on top and look at the top of the specification. There are listed on which model be able to use to which countries. Another sign to look out for is your country Authority on handset, there is a logo sticker to said that this model can be used &or accepted. Then one of the phone gone into serious problem as the screen & keys unable to control. Upon doing factory reset, then the problem go away. Another confirmation i had is that i play the game. The game is working without problem on one model. The other model is giving problem cause the screen issue. The game developer then told me the specification is not the same. These 2 proof that different versions do have different specifications. If as what you said about the fakes, then i bought from 2 different Telco(s). This mean that one Telco sold me a fakes. Telco(s) do not sell fakes. Should i make a complaint to the Authority... Some of the issue is to buy the model not for local use....for Export, the staff will said. Sometime it is due to the apps that cause the issue. There is a need to know how well these apps are written. Do you know ANYONE can create a APP without any experience & knowledge.

I would say the exact same I have had none of these issues etc. The only thing against this beautiful smartphone is medium battery life but i can get thru day with battery save and lowering brightness to 60%. Audio and camera are superb and screen super duper ,mine is Platinum Gold 64gb. Did not like S7 it felt fat in the hand and heavy whereas S6 ultra slim feels light in hand. We will have to see what delights S8 brings but love home button and sd card .

I see a lot of posts with strange issues with "S6" like small memory, bad camera etc and that can only mean you have fake Samsung device (and there are a lot of those). I recommend you use some official Samsung app (like Samsung Kies) and connect your device to the PC to see if you have original Samsung device or not (if it is a fake then Kies will not recognize it). You can also use apps like CPU-Z from Play Store that shows you what chipset you have (S6 should have Exynos 7420 Octa, not sure it there is a Snapdragon 820 version, but definitely there is no Mediatek version - that is a fake). Just check if your device is an original one before you post negative comments.

After 6 months with this phone I would definitely recommend it. Performance is great (I have Exynos version, android 6.0.1 stock), no freezing or similar issues (not once!), screen is simply superb, camera is without question one of the best features (on every event everybody says I should make photos since my camera is that good and better then theirs), build quality is superb (although phone is slippery and it took time to get used to that, not leaving it in places where my old phone would stay in place without any problems, this one just slips and falls), it fell to the ground 2 times, once from 1m on the wooden floor, second time from 1,1m on linoleum. Now there are no marking or scuffs on the phone, but something did come lose inside the phone in a place where camera is - when you shake the phone something rattles inside. Not a big issue, it is not that noticeable, never figured out what it exactly is since everything works fine, camera, flash and sensors. I would definitely recommend this phone. If you are on a budget and you like Samsung, then my "budget" Samsung recommendation would be A5 2016. My girlfriend has it (Exynos version), build quality is the same as my S6, great feel in the hand, screen is also very good, S6 camera is just a tad better in low light, but otherwise A5 2016 camera is one of the better ones out there, battery on A5 is better.

I had Note4. Great phone if you can buy one in good condition. Seller refurbished or new one, little harder to find... I now have S6. Also great If you love larger screen size phone go for Note. If you want better designed phone with better camera go for S6 but with 64 or 128 gb internal storage because S6 don't have support for micro sd card.

S6 have a versions with 32,64 or 128 gb internal memory space. My S6 is with 64 gb and that is quite enough. With cloud storages who needs more? I am using cloud storage to save only important things. Nowdays people have a notebooks with large hdd storages or exthernal hdd like I habe, using usb cable and transfer things ther.If you have some big files move it there if they are not needed on phone. I think that sd card is not issue here. S7 have support for sd card. Great models both, S6 and S7. Flagships! :)

S7 has microSD card slot. S7 has bigger battery, which should get easily a day in single charge. And if you are a really heavy user, then Power bank isnt much larger that a spare battery. Samsung even makes fast charging battery bank. It will charge as fast as from a plug.

My version of S6 is global SM-G920F for swedish market, 64gb internal memory. Using this phone more than 8 months. I buy it used but in excellent condition. I had a Note4 before S6 and this is conclusion about S6: Excellent build quality, premium finish, size easily pocketable. Battery life is above average when using mobile data. Charging is very fast (both classic and fast charging) so this not a problem. Excellent overall performance, great multitasker. Solid audio quality 16MP main camera is among the best in terms of resolved detail, noise and sharpness, as well as features, I think the same as Note4. Video quality is excellent both in 2160p and 1080p resolution.

I bought this phone 3 months ago and at that time i was using local charger and cable. so whenever i charge my phone , the doc get warmed and my phone also get warmed.And on 4g;even on light use;my phone get warmed( unplugged) and the battery backup was also very pathetic. Now i am using stock charger of note 5 and now every thing is working fine.the battery back up is now average( better than before). I am not a heavy user .i do texting on 4g and i play clash of clans and i get normally 8 hours of screen on time which is acceptable for me. All other things are awesome in this phone.

Highly overrated. Instead of transition to a better phone (android-android) as described by sales person this is just a cluster of problems and irritations at a higher price. RAM goes as low as 600MB even with all apps 'switched off'. Low RAM clogged by factory installed apps that apparently remain highly active even in 'off' mode results in your own VOIP applications not performing as they should. As explained by Samsung support most of pre-installed apps are not removable. Screen freezes every now and then and is way too responsive on occasions you least need it, for instance if you pick it up in a manner touching the buttons or sides of screen even lightly. Least intuitive version of android phone I have ever had to to deal with. Battery - needs charging at least every 24 h. In my case a total waste of time and money, should have continued with my old phone.

Can anyone give advice? Just got my s6 2 weeks ago and yesterday my s6 just froze. Nothing i can do. I did hard restart and then it froze on boot up with blue light on. About 15 min of restarting got my phone working. Didnt know what to do, so tried to forget it. Today same thing happened twice. Both at the time when i switched 4g off and turned wifi on. First time i did a factory reset to see if it helps. Again didnt boot to OS. Got it working. 4 hours passed and now again it froze when i swiched network. This time it restarted itself tho. Love my s6. Had it for over a year, never had a problem with it. Otter box keeps it perfectly mint, not even a scratch gets through, and I've dropped it down a set of concrete stairs. This phone is powerful and sturdy, and it has an excellent battery life. Still a great phone, and clearly withstands the test of time.

I have had S6 coming up to 15 months now and it has a few scuffs and minor scratches but not had a problem with it. I do not use a case as it is georgeous. Every now and again I reboot it and get rid of any junk. I am using 128 version gold. It is in reality no different in use to any other Android just that it is stylish,gorgeous screen,audio I think is good thru 3.5 jack and speaker. Cam and video are reliable with good results. It is good phone and saw no reason to upgrade to S7 in fact I think S6 is tonnes more stylish.

The battery size of an A9pro is 5000 mAh, and S6 G920f has only 2550 mAh (S6edge G925F has 2600 mAh, which is as much as S4.) I wonder, why a FLAGSHiP, Note 7 has only 3500 mAh. It should be much thicker, but have at least 6400 mAh, if a phone from the AF SERiES has 5000 mAh.

The A5 is equipped in a richer way (MicroSD and 2900 mAh battery), but the S6 is more powerful, has a much better camera with iMX240 (A5 still uses a Sony iMX135 and is limited to 1080p@30fps and 720p also just at 30fps, even if 120fps playback is actually possible). The OiS of the S6 has a much stronger jello-effect, but that's still better than ugly shakes. The S6 has a SpO2+Pulse sensor, and also one for air pressure. The S6 has a much more powerful processor, and the screen has a resolution of 1440p and 576~577 ppi, while the A5 maxes out at 720p and... I just read the A5 has 1080p and 426ppi. But you will only notice a sharpness difference when reading small text, and there is only a slight performance difference. The A5-2016 is almost as strong as an S5 G900F, but weaker than Note 3 due to less RAM. And also weaker than S5 G901x/G906x. But there is barely any performance difference. S6 can be used with a GearVR due to the higher resolution. The A5 could theoretically also be used also VR machine, but that would not be so enjoyable at 1080p for the full FoV. Still much better than 720p.

The battery is more or less like on all other samsung or other brands. With Marshmallow out of the box, at full brightness, with T-Mobile LTE on , you get 180 minutes of continous Web Browsing . That means that if you keep continuously clicking on a new page for 9 minutes , the battery will go down by 5%. And since on average you click at least two times less, expect an average of 360 minutes of Web browsing.
