Samsung Galaxy S7 active - User Reviews

  • Well no luck for me with this phone. I have put an extra glass protector on it. Under this protector (the protector itself is not broken) the gorilla glass got some shatters on 2 places - 1 at the top near the sensors and one starting from the back button (up to the middle). I now know that this seems to happen often. The phone did not fall down or anything. It must be a design flaw. I used an S5 active for many (outdoor) years with no problems. This was my last active phone from Samsung.

  • i don't think so you want to change battery without help from technician, since you must heat the middle frame and working from middle frame, for more info just search for iFixit, it is harder than S7 standard

  • I've had this phone since September 2016. My previous phone had been ... the Active 4 or 5? I forget, but it came on blue. I had loved that phone so much, and we went on a lot of adventures together - from the hot and humid salt and sand of South Florida up to Quebec, a road trip across southern Norway, multiple flights yo American cities in all sorts of weather...cycling in the rain, kayaking (you get the idea?). Unfortunately, that one just wasn't the same after Europe (the charging port became very ... finicky). When I finally, a bit reluctantly, upgraded to the s7 active (the newest at the time ... might as well get the newest version of what I already loved), I was a little disappointed by the colour options at first, and the placement of the buttons (I took a lot of accidental selfies the first week or so). But I was impressed by it otherwise - the way it fit in my hand, the weight of it, how my pictures were turning out (even the accidental ones), the videos, the speed ... all just like newer, faster versions of my old phone. I was ready to put it to a lot of use ... until a wave leaped up and knocked it out of my hands at the beach. I had out a case on it to make it pretty. Unfortunately, that case was gold and white and about impossible to see in the churning shoreline. I was able to get someone to agree to call it so I could hear it while underwater, but they lacked commitment to the idea of helping a stranger...they only called it once. After an hour of searching, I went home to see if I could find it on the GPS. Yes! But my laptop didn't have Wi-Fi, so whike I could map where it was, I couldn't take it with me to pinpoint it. I checked on that phone for three days ... both online and at the beach, until it finally died ☹ I replaced it with the exact same thing, and it's been like an appendage. I didn't bother with a case on the replacement. The corners are scuffed and the edges are scraped a little, but the screen is still perfect. This phone has fallen on a wide variety of surfaces from every height under 5ft, and it barely shows. The forst real problem I've ever had with it has been recently, 2019, where the volume keeps going wonky. It's not the speakers anything, just the volume key itself...like maybe something got in behind the button and is hitting the volume down side. It'll be fine for a while, then suddenly, randomly, turn the volume all the way down. Sometimes it's even quite insistent about it, and we have a little battle over what the volume will be (it's fought me about four times just while typing this, as if the volume will change what I have to say). I could probably fix the problem, or find a professional to do, get in there and clean out the space behind the button ... but three years is a pretty good run, right? Now, phones have 16-24mp cameras, and I love a convenient camera! And that's what brought me here tonight ... as I decide whether to fix this great phone, or upgrade. The new phones are pretty, and fast, and at least double the memory, but the Active series could handle so much world, and so much... me, without being chunky beasts.

  • You rock! I was trying to figure out how I could fix my S7 active's scratched screen and was pissed that Gorilla Glass 4 would scratch so easily. I read your post and explored the edge with a thin craft blade and the damaged screen protector peeled off fairly easily and makes my phone look almost new again.

  • The screen isn't plastic, it has gorilla glass 4 but comes with a preinstalled plastic screen protector that you can remove with a small pen knife or your fingernail if you heat it with a hair dryer. The plastic screen protector scratches but the glass underneath doesn't.

  • It called Active has it for people that work on the Go Bulders, Personal trainers or just clumsy people if you're looking for designs Samsung has many alternative options.

  • It's not ugly, it's just 'quality free' (or without quality).

  • Is it rugged, but isn't resistant. It has a PLASTIC SCREEN. JerryRigEverything tested it and it scratches at level 3. The worst rugged phone. Ever.

  • I've had this phone for 6 months now... I love it so much- I actually LIKE the design of the galaxy and have dropped it many times- no issues, it has FM radio, great camera, powerful processor and excellent screen to boot. strangely the battery life on mine is also the pits... thats because I'm running a custom rom... but it seems to be an S7 issue... really lousy! such a nice phone hindered by lousy software and poor battery life! and being ATT only locks it out for being a great phone, you can buy unlocked for around 300 bucks today and run but there were a lot of issues with early models water failing and pink lines so be careful. Lame, almost prefect but not quite

  • I bought this phone because I was on vacation and my old BLU phone got sightly wet and gave up the ghost. I went to an AT&T reseller and was told "Waterproof", "Rugged". I reluctantly paid about $800. I was happy with the phone at first; however, I soon began to dislike all the AT&T and Samsung bloatware and mandatory warez, e.g. "Samsung Pay" which could not be eradicated. I also learned after about two months, this model was tested and was determined to fail if exposed to water. The S7, and S7 Edge were water resistant. After six to eight months the phone developed a pink line on the right side. I was sent a refurbished phone and I returned the original. After about another six months went by the new phone too began with the pink line, and I'm not alone this is a well documented problem. Samsung blames the user for dropping this "Rugged" phone and refuses to help. The long and short of this? I will NEVER purchase a Samsung smart phone ever again. These are the most expensive and lowest quality phones I have ever had to deal with. Save your money, buy your phone from a non carrier source.

  • Can you tell me how to replace battery s7 active ?

  • can you help me

  • Im on Oreo 8.0 official Samsung just relase this official update that you can search on xda forum and update yor phone

  • You can tune local FM stations with out using data but need headphone when you install NextRadio app from play store.

  • This phone is the best thank you Samsung. I don’t really care about the design I give this phone a 8/10

  • I am a Samsung Active user since the first one came out. I just want be the first to say this. I am current in the U.S. Army and I can say my Active samsung is awesome. On one incident where my phone accidentally fell out my pocket near the explosive area. about 3 feet away where 4 lbs of explosive went off. I thought that was it my phone was a goner but now when i approach the site phone was still there thank God. Everything was on and still works so I would say Samsung Active 7 is Combat Proof and is viable phone.

  • Don't be fooled. This phone isn't rugged. Do a search on Galaxy S7 Pink Line - my Active version is affected by this too. And since it's just a few months outside of warranty, Samsung wants me to pay for their design flaws. Nope. Moving on...

  • Its So Hot...

  • yea I'm having some battery issues as well I can gt at best 11.5 hours. what does phone info (samsung app found in playstore) say on personal?

  • as long as you have a later model (made late july 2016) that doesn't have the IP rating defects then I'd say this is a pretty decent unit. The first Galaxy active not to have any real hardware setbacks from the main flagship models. a SHAME it was locked to AT&T only- that means far less support for post users of the unit.

  • Its so ugly

  • My s7 Active already have android 7 / Nougat. You can even update outside from USA(!). Dont listen to the others. You need to download the update zip files, put it on your memory card and install updates from micro sd from recovery menu. There are 1-2 good article about his at XDA forum. I think the tread name was "offical stock" or something like that. Althrough they are speaking from root there too, but its really optional.

  • Hi Let me know samsung S7 active will be update in nougat??? And when??

  • Update from a fortnight ago, really am getting woeful battery life from this particular phone. With 4000 mAh, it should last atleast two days with occasional use. Tried using Accubattery, Gsam, Betterbatterystats, to track this issue down to no avail. Nothing makes sense. The stats dont make any sense. Accubattery claims the clock is draining, while Better battery stats claim screen on is draining the most which doesnt make sense at all. The phone regulary sits in front of me at work, and the screen is off for most of the day except for 5 minutes tops. If anyone has an idea of a better way to pin point what the heck in draining the battery on idle, please suggest. Will otherwise look to return this phone. Phone came preinstalled with Nougat, could that be an issue? The claim of 4000mAh so far has been a con.

  • Samsung s7 active not be update in nougat yet

  • LG V20 vs S7 Active? Lg has bigger screen, android 7.0 (which I really need), dual camera (wide angle one is actually amazing), Quad DAC, IR blaster, 2nd screen, double the storage, usb C. It's around $250 in my country. (refurbished) I really like Samsung's Super amoled, water resistance (both phone have drop resistance), It's $200 (also refurbished). I really like both of them. Can you guys tell me what problems you've faced over the years with s7 active ? How is the video recording? More importantly can s7 active hold enough on it's own so I don't have to spend extra $50 ?

  • Brought from a retailer on a run out / End of life special about two weeks ago, phone is okay. Does the fundamentals of texting and calls alright. Bought it mostly for it's low light photo capabilities where it excels in the dark against even my dedicated compacts twice the cost. The "con" though is While it's probably sat on the shelf for a year, it has the most Lacklustre battery life, at factory stock (superfluous factory apps disabled, no new apps installed), of all the android phones I've had, particularly for something with allegedly 4000 mAh at new. Accubattery reckons I still have 92% battery health left. Still doesn't quite explain why the phones (Sony Z2 & Acro S, Moto Defy+) that I had with much lower capacity, lasted longer on a single charge. As an aside, Two days ago, the battery completely drained out within 4 hours from a full charge idling screen off and sitting visible on my desk. The standard Nougat battery stats failed to capture the needed info, graph and stats only managed to give me usage of the last hour (Something serious I feel obviously happened here for the stats to get lost / corrupted, I have to admit, Extremely frustrating beyond belief not knowing what is causing intermittent extreme "off the cliff" battery drain)

  • I managed to upgrade going through 4 steps upgrade with rebooting in between. I am not sure I am a happy user. It is slower and I only get 5GHz wifi. Maybe will downgrade. On top of that I dropped the phone after 3 days and it cracked.... Here in Sweden they don´t even offer a repair for a cost let alone any guarantee fulfillings.

  • True. You cannot update into Nougat nor the incoming Oreo if you're outside of the USA. you must be connected to a AT&T tower before you can update. Greedy motherfathers!

  • I've had one smartphone or another since 2009, Apple, Samsung, et al, and the Samsung Galaxy S7 active is THE best phone I've ever had. The camera is amazing, and the battery is insane. Five stars! Postscript: Bring back the infrared transceiver!

  • No. The active is made for ATT in the USA. Single sim. ATT isn’t exactly the most open minded company. They certainly aren’t going to have phones made with the idea you will ever use it anywhere but on ATT.

  • The screen is Gorilla glass wrapped in plastic. See for yourself:

  • I bought one from USA 2 weeks ago. Then I downloaded the languages I wanted, the usual Google way. Danish, Swedish among others. Some of the settings on the phone are now in Swedish, the rest in English.

  • Is it a dual sim phone? please reply.

  • the samsung galaxy s7 actives screen is actually a clear shatter resistant plastic

  • I happen to own a Samsung Galaxy Active S4 going on 4 years this November and my next up grade will be the Active S7. Hands Down. !

  • I Do remember when the rugged ones were a rarity! Hahaha… to me the waaay cheaper-and now better- AGM chinese models online are the way to go :) .. but this was a decent device tho its price but ll prefer to get an x1 18k gold edition xP ( i know: demanding xD )

  • This phone is an exclusive to ATT in the USA. It supports 10 languages, comes with English installed. If you don't plan on using it on ATT, you will not get updates. I don't advise using out of the USA. In the US, the Samsung experience desk at Best Buy can flash updates.

  • how many languages in galaxy s7 active??

  • is there infrared sensor?

  • Yes, there is notification LED with different colors, non programmable.

  • Can someone tell me is there a dual sim version for this phone ??

  • yes

  • Can someone tell me is there a notification LED on S7 Active?

  • Okay; really: they all are great (love ruggeds, man !) and i think ip68 should be standarized soon: but Cant be happy, dude: Sansumg is no longer what it used to be (good value for money) ... it has gone to the dark side. You can buy five good ruggeds from agm with that price : x1 18k gold edition gooo xD !

  • Sansumg… i mean… With many manufacturers, devices and rugged options to consider, it can be hard to identify which device is best for your business and budget … to me the Agm x1 gold edition sounds waay better in PPR … this s7 is just… too expensive

  • Still loving this one! Sadly is no more convenient anymore Right now there is some cheaper models with similar specs on the market: rigth now i m thinking on the Agm line! (specially the x1 gold edition check it out… still less than B64 euros :O )

  • why its not dual sim ?

  • Irritates me is not having a Infra-Red anymore, and the fact that we have 4,000 mAh batteries which are nice, last long, charge fast, and don't explode. I don't understand why Samsung is scared to do another battery over 3,000 mAh's. The Galaxy S7 Active has 500 mAh more juice, and is only .08 inch thicker, shorter, and not as wide as the Note.

  • where i can find this here saudi?

  • Its good i guess, but it pisses me that there is not dual sim...

  • why its not dual sim????

  • Why?

  • I really hate this phone i only did a report on this product beacuse there were no other choices i really think no person should buy this product.

  • Galaxy s7 active and galaxy tab e are both junk. Will never buy another samsung product. Touchscreen is far too sensitive.

  • Do not buy there are serious bugs, I have to restart my phone to hang up a calls. Phones durable enough if you buy an otterbox but there needs to be an ability to function as a phone....failed

  • Android Nougat Update avilable for samsung galaxy s7 active

  • Good luck with that. they are slowly doing away with removable batteries. hard to find one anymore

  • ur silly upgrade ur phone to the newest android brings fm radio love

  • This phone is not come to Malaysia officially.

  • don't drop it and it won't shatter

  • Don't listen to the other guy. nextapp is not a substitute for an FM receiver. I wondered the same thing and not it does not have an fm receiver. avoid the phone all together. total crap and I'm stuck with it for the next 3 years.

  • It's junk! Screen shattered under the tempered glass screen protector and now won't charge due to moisture. Although it was never near water! AT&T and Samsung won't do a darn thing. $800 down the toilet! They need to recall and replace all phones. I'm looking into gathering people to get a lawsuit against it. False advertisement! 1 year warranty doesn't do crap either! Very disgruntled customer

  • it should be dual sim

  • is this phone does have VR feature just like s6 or 7?

  • It look good

  • it can scrach very easily its not gorilla glass 4 its all plastic thets why its making it shock resistant

  • Lesson of the day: Don't drop your expensive phone.

  • I have own my phone for 4 1/2 months. VERY disappointed with the idea that this phone is supposed to be durable for people that are active and on the go. This phone was sold to us as being something that you can drop, can be in water, go climbing with it and wont have to fear it breaking from the fall...This is a joke. this phone fell 2 1/2 feet, and the whole screen is now splintered and continues to get worse each day. It has been told that it is a manufactures defect in the button area of the phone. Ok, should be easy enough to repair or replace...NOT!!! Samsung has told us the manufactures warranty covers manufactures defects. However because there is damage to the phone the warranty is voided. keep in mind the damage to the phone is due to a manufactures defect that the manufactures warranty is supposed to cover, but because the manufactures defect has caused damage to the phone, the manufactures warranty will not cover the repair or replacement of the phone that is caused by the manufactures defect. 2 1/2 feet is what it fell...Yes this phone is made for active people.

  • making an edge version of the active would defeat the purpose of having a very durable phone I would know my s6 edge plus is fucked after only a couple of drops.

  • Hey bro.U still uve it?

  • No, active and edge are mutually exclusive. The edge feature simply exposes the device too much to make active a viable option.

  • Yes

  • I love all the Active/Sport phones. Samsung should make an edge version.

  • Same question

  • Physical navigation keys! Yes!

  • I guess that phone is for army members who love Samsung brand. (just kidding)

  • Never! Just for T&T from USA@@

  • Samsung s6

  • S7 Duos is now available

  • When will the Australian release this phone

  • Does someone knows is there any way to buy this phone in europe or ship it? Im from lithuania

  • when galaxy s7 active dual sim????

  • It does.. NextRadio App in US works on it.

  • Would you let me know if it contains FM Radio or not ? Thanks ...

  • malaysia got this phone?

  • i bought that phone on ebay from England, phone just amazing..........

  • Stupid samaung only release this phone for USA instead of the worldwide.

  • nice phone

  • I am currently a user of the S4 Active. It was the very first of the "Active" range by Samsung and was released around the world!!! The new S7 Active I thought would be the perfect replacement/upgrade for my aging S4 Active but really disappointed that it is not available in Australia or anywhere else for that matter!! Come on Samsung! Please make it available internationally as there are people outside of the US who find having the features of the Active range extremely beneficial.

  • it doesn't have very good reception. Hotspots only

  • I have also been looking for this to become available in the UK (to no avail) but I did send a tweet to @SamsungHelpUK and they said they don't have a date but also sort of hinted that they didn't know anyone in the UK wanted one... may be if everyone in the UK who is interested sent a tweet they might be better able to gauge the level of demand. Just a thought.

  • Where can we get the cat S60 in the US

  • don't buy this toy no sound use handfree for call & mmedia.

  • Only available in the US and from AT&T.

  • Can anyone guide that whether we can use dual sim in this phone or not

  • I would never buy a smartphone that doesn't have a removable battery.

  • Is this available in the UK by any known retailers? I feel like I would be constantly looking for the handset, it is that well camouflaged

  • does anyone can say its sar value?

  • Is there a shop where I can buy this here in the philippines? Please feed me info

  • pretty sure that the Exynos 8890 model is availible for the active, the phone which u posting under..... this is because AT&T has exclusive rights to the "Active" brand and they are in the USA, while the Exynos 8890 . so please don't try to sound 1337... you are just putting false information into people's heads.... lol

  • Samsung. Fix this waterproof problem!.

  • ...and fix watergate issue

  • Yes, you're right. Hope that european version comes S7 Active with Exynos version.

  • S6 active touch problem in many phones is it i mean s7 active no problem please some one explain thanks

  • Consumer Reports say Samsung Galaxy S7 Active test devices failed water resistance!!. =( Wake up and do it something!!!,Samsung!.

  • Yes I read the newspaper but it say only in the us not in the uk.. I though all countries would do the same model with water proof???? Strange?

  • What? This one has Fm radio, and the regular S7 does not? Well this is interesting.

  • Consumer Reports say both their test devices failed water resistance testing. Be interesting to see who's right - them or Samsung

  • What an ugly device

  • The S7 Active have a powerful Snapdragon 820 CPU, that's the reason of its lower endurance rating. Hope that maybe Samsung will release this phone in Europe, cause it's a really good stuff! With the power saving Exynos CPU it could beat the S6 Active's Battery time!

  • How does the GSMArena tests the battery? How explain the Endurance rating ?? 1) 109h - S6 Active = 3500 mAh, Exynos 7420 Octa, 3GB 2) 98h - S7 Edge = 3600 mAh (Kryo or Exynos Mongoose CPU ?) 4GB 3) 96h - S7 Active = 4000 mAh (Kryo) same as S7 Edge but extra battery... funs Yes, all are the same bloatware... but why the S7 Active are the last of Edge ?! It's only quad-core and all same QHD screen!!! Cool !

  • It will be good to have it with FLIR thermal camera (Lepton module) and Water Resustant and military speck like in Cat S60 (http://www.gsmarena.com/cat_s60-7928.php)

  • It seems that this endurance rating is incorrect, since S7 Edge has Talk time Up to 27 h (3G) Music play Up to 74 h 98h endurance rating And this S7 Active has greater times but lower rating...

  • Had mine for a week. Not waterproof. Wanted to test out the aqua camera mode 5 minutes later the screen goes black been broke since. Very unhappy might end up going back to apple.

  • Does anyone know if the streaming function has been restored. I have the S6 active and I can't steam it to my TV. I'm really mad that Samsung removed this ability and I'm hoping it's back in the newer models. If not, I may look elsewhere. It's absurd that you have to buy and carry around another piece of hardware just to steam to another screen.

  • I have been working the day light out if my s7 active. And so far battery is great!

  • I got one of these s7 active phones, and I came across a issue you may want to look into more. Because it is a nice phone I figured I would put a nice SD card in it. I got me a 128 gig by PNY and the phone some times it sees it and other times it won't. When it don't see the card in file manager I go to settings and it sees it fine. I unmount it, then remount it. And it will work again. But I never notice it having this problem until I use the camera, and it tells me. "No SD card default changed to device" so then I will unmount, and remount. Then it works again. This issue already cause a bad spot on the first card I bought. But the store did swap it out for another one no problem. Please look into this issue Thanks Jeff

  • 96 endurance rating ... And s6 active hace 106 why??

  • No, sorry. You can go to greenhills to check.

  • the review said it may not ship out of usa because its exclusive for at&t operator. so I think no. maybe you could buy it on amazon or ebay and import it to your country then unlock it from its operator. but thats hard and expensive way. I think buying caterpillar s60 would be cheaper for you

  • is this unit (samsung galaxy S7 active) also available @philippine market?

  • please test battery life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think it is. Soon. The S6 Active was released here last year through AT&T.

  • It looks great ...features also are OK. Looking fwd to buy it in Romania also. SAR specs should be available also.

  • i love it

  • I hope it will be available here on Philippines.

  • First of all, you want me to buy a concept? Second of all the page takes me to an error.

  • hope it will be available in jamaica

  • I just got mine here in Puerto Rico. I love everything about it.

  • I hope it will be available here on Philippines.

  • You need to look at more phones if you think the ssis a good phone. Look at this one.

  • nice battery nice phone but price is no good

  • buy zerolemon with extended battery. It includes zeroshock case. Buy also a tempered glass from zerolemon. Geez.

  • downgrade? i think you're wrong. Do you know whats the reason of s7 active being a thicker phone? because they listen to the customers before who complains about the battery life... i prefer having a thick phone but with a monster battery. 4 cores only? lemme tell you an example: 4 cores in s7 active is like a 4 professional basketball players in NBA and if you want 8 cores, it will look like you want 8 college basketball players. So each 4 cores carries heavier weghts than 8 cores because they are equally distributed. To conclude this, 4 cores (2.0 ghz above for each cores) = 8 cores (1.0 ghz above for each cores) and last but not the least, thicker but with juicier battery > thinner but with smaller battery. That's my opinion.

  • Love the Active series. Note 7 Active please, even with 5.5" screen !

  • Every person in the US armed forces should have one.

  • ok, first, thickness doesn't mean a downgrade, it has better components and camera that's why it is thick, second, more pixels doesn't mean better quality, s7 has a bigger pixel size 1.4 compared to 1.12 of s6 which means more light to enter the lens = better quality, third, cpu speed is not based on cores, it has less but more powerful cores, it wouldn't reach 150K antutu scores if it isn't. Numbers doesn't mean anything, if you want to stick with your s6 active, go with it. But it is better if you will be informed right.

  • An old black and white camera has infinite megapixels, that doesn't mean its better than a modern camera, and the four cores in the s7 active are still faster than the 8 cores in the s6 active, saying its slower because it has less cores is like saying you would be more afraid of 10 ants than 9 black widows because there are more ants

  • This Mobile is Very Small

  • So you wanna say that this phone's performance and camera are worse than the s6 active? Dude the camera on this phone is the same as the normal s7, dont let the mega pixel count fool you

  • This phone is for me! It sounds like some iPhone people are making comments.

  • On paper, you might have a point. But in real world usage, the s7 active easily pulls ahead of the s6; bigger battery, better processor, much improved camera (more megapixels doesn't mean better camera), and all in all the phone is much improved over the s6 active. And I'm no dammy fanboy, in fact I really hate them.

  • This is better than the S6 Active. The S6 Active has a screen issue. A lot of cracked screens. I see a lot of complaints about that. Clearly not shatter resistant like the S7 Active. The S7 Active is just as water and dust resistant as the S6 Active and has an even bigger battery. Yeah, it sucks it's AT&T exclusive, but you can always get it and unlock it. It's what I do sometimes. Just make sure the LTE bands suit your needs. Also, if you can wait a bit, the S7 Active will be found on places like EBay and Amazon unlocked.

  • Megapixels in cameras do not matter so you can mark that off. 4 less cores? It means the CPU can handle the extra tasks with less cores being cheaper. The thickness 1.3 mm? You Will never notice that.

  • I have no idea why samsung creates more products and using Alphabets letters such waist. people get deceive. make a new model with good configuration which people can afford to buy , look at Iphone do they produce every one month new model. i think samsung as the good talent technology engineers but they keep produce like this , people will get fadeup. people are confuse which model to buy , also in every android phones any brand after one year phone get hangs then need to reset default. ..

  • Yes it is quad core kryo. But don't worry about the performance between quad core kryo vs octa core coz it works like this... 4 gym-like muscular men vs. 8 malnourished men The reason why iPhone sticks with their dual core with high gpu performance plus super fast rom processing plus software optimization.

  • You forgot that lossing that "fake 2+2 cpu" it almost doubles the benchmarks from S6 Active (from 71.000 to 120.000). Talking about the camera, megapixels doesn't mean absolutely nothing. You can compare your photos at day from S6 Active with S7 Active and cannot see a downgrade at all. And at night the S7 totallly exceeds not only S6, also every known phone. If you want more battery, you need more space and weight. Nowadays it's impossible doing another way. I see here a good improve in every single aspect.

  • nope

  • dude the camera is way better than s6 camera, just buy one and check it out (with low light it works fantastic)

  • The phone is an upgrade from the s6 active in every way! It has a better performing processor, a better camera that can focus in less then a second, and take better low light pics. A more rugged design, a bigger 4000mAh battery. A fingerprint scanner. And a micro SD card slot. I'm hoping to get this as my next phone!

  • When playing clash of clan or clash royal this mobile heating or not heating who use this phone please reply me

  • A downgrade from the S6 active in my opinion... the S7 active is 1.3mm thicker, the primary camera has 4 mp less, and there are 4 less cores. Only real plus is the additional gigabyte of RAM, fingerprint sensor, larger battery, and SD card slot. Did they really have to sacrifice the camera and processors for this?

  • It might not be a dual sim variant of this one, active models never came in the past with dual sim, this an US variant and Samsung phones exclusively for US market does not come with dual sim, you should try the Asian version dual sim but it will be not the active one. Hope this clarifies. Cheers

  • I am extremely excited to get the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. 1. I am very clumsy 2. I have destroyed numerous screens 3. I forget to charge my phone 4. I hate iPhones!!! I DON'T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT LOOKS, IT'S ABOUT PERFORMANCE AND DURABILITY!

  • I need this very one. Need your contact details

  • nice phone

  • Is it only quad core?

  • Does it maintain the feature of Marshmallow about merging the internal memory with the SD card?

  • SM-G891A

  • Not waterproof, water resistant

  • what is the phone model? and how to locate it?

  • Looks cool, am gonna grab this one i think lol

  • ATT web page says "FM Radio with wired headphones required(not included)".

  • There is a mobile capable of that ... Sony Ericsson active ! ... Guaranteed

  • Dimensions: 5.86 x 2.95 x 0.39 inches; 148,8×75×9,9 mm and 185 grams = 6.52 ounces. Source: att website. For me it costs too much. Ill take S6 active or regular S7 with rugged case.

  • i had the S5 Active and i will stick to the active version of this phone for various reason. 1. it is considerably more robust, (i know i may need a tank phone, but this one actually hold strong enough, i busted two note 2 Screens, NO MORE) with the active phones) 2. the water proof is a must for me.. (yes the other one have it, but still fragile screen, my first iphone died on the rain while i was riding through new zealand) 3. the design of the active has physical buttons, which make it a lot easier to handle when your hands are moody, there is rain, or even take random underwater pictures when you don't have your amazing Gopro by your side) about the battery, i think it make sense to have a bigger capacity because if you are really an active person and are outdoors all the time, you would definitely not have a plug to recharge, and believe me, you would highly appreciate that extra battery in an emergency. people that is less outdoorsy can always go for the normal versions and it is always likely to find a car or wall charger somewhere around. i love these specs, it is just tooo expensive right now, basically a nice descent computer! cheeers!

  • 4000mAh. it's like they hard wired the tab E 9.6's battery to an s7 and stuck it in a permanent otterbox. lol How do people complain about not being able to take out the battery? WHY would you EVER need too??? Plus the damn thing is basically indestructible, do you really think you could do that AND have a removable battery? Buy a moto E or something if thats what you want.

  • Still need a removable battery

  • its water resistant. not waterproof. theres no phone capable of that

  • samsung just released s7 active it has nano sim.

  • Another Active version(which no body buy) that is far superior in battery capacity than the main S line.Nice strategy Samsung.By the way,I don't mind a slightly thicker phone if it means bigger battery.

  • They continue making s active, but not the s mini!? I wish Samsung would make the s7 mini :(

  • the problem is that buying without contract directly from att would mean a super high price. even s6 active is amounting to $650 after taxes at the moment. I can get a s7 edge with proper warranty in India around that price. And if i buy from ebay or amazon I would get a refurbushed product from a US seller who would be unreachable in case of any issues once I am in India.

  • is there any dual SIM version with dedicated memory card slot?

  • A fantastic phone in terms of specs and is a great upgrade over S6 active too. It can be bought over the current Galaxy S7 but it has a limited availability as its exclusive to T-mobile only. comparison wise its a little thicker than the last generation Active but its offers more battery at 4000 mAH. It also provides a fingerprint scanner which was not available on the previous GEN. It also offers a SD card slot this time over its predecessor.

  • the s7 active is waterproof with s6 s5 s4 active.

  • Ugliest phone 2016

  • that's not the point of this phone at all

  • Pretty interesting, actually. Yes, perhaps you can put a protector around a S7 or S7 Edge to make them a little more resistant, too, but another selling-factor for this phone may be the 4000 mAh-battery! The regular S7 only comes with 3000 mAh, after all, and not everyone is too fond of the Edge-screens on the S7 Edge (3600 mAh battery). So those who want more beef out of their S7 and who also don't mind more bulk will most likely give the S7 Active a shot.

  • buy it from AT&T then. or from Amazon.

  • So you're not even bothered by the non-removable battery. What a world we live in, where everybody accepts planned obsolescence and doesn't care about reducing electronic waste.

  • and dual sim

  • Nah this phone is not cool at all out of 10 i'd rate it 2

  • Stick with s7 or edge. just got the s7 today with a protective cover, good enough no need s7 active.

  • marketing strategy mate

  • everybody knows that, wtf

  • S7 active is thicker than normal S7

  • damn Samsung...what was the problem to put 4000mAH to standart model of S7? :) grrrrrrrrrr...

  • you missed IR blaster

  • It's a quad core processor. 4 custom Qualcomm Kryo cores

  • Why did those dumbasses leave out the ir blaster :'''''(... this phone wouldve been sorta perfect if it had that

  • miltry colour

  • Any info about this one having Exynos version like S7/S7E?

  • dont understand the strategy behind keeping it exclusive for at&t. i have been yearning to get a S series active device for more than a year now.

  • 820 is octacore

  • no radio?????

  • If ,it had the front facing speakers. It would have been the best phone ever! What more you want in the phone? The best display which is indistructable( scrachproof + shatterproof) The most powerful processor. The huge battery. Greatest camera. Can withstand drops Waterproof The grip would be great, with that material. Cons: It would have been better that they choose the regular navigation buttons No front facing speakers Exclusive to AT&T. Fix those corns and ill be the slave of this beast.

  • it does not matter how many cores there. it is important that processor

  • do you even read?

  • the s6 active was waterproof as well. and it wasnt just a wee bit.

  • quad core????

  • Why Android lollipop not marshmallow c now Nokia re lunch with Android b careful in price & design

  • More durable more battery but they seem cant find the way to fix the wrong placement of the back button

  • Ok, I'm gonna set something straight right away based on what I'm seeing. This phone is NOT, I repeat, NOT designed to look good for fashion items like you all seem to think. This phone is designed for pure durability so that someone who potentially wrecks a phone can be safe knowing it won't break, unlike your iPhones. As far as this phone goes, just don't bother commenting if you're gonna say it looks shit. It'll outlast almost everything you throw at it, literally. (Reposted from the confirmation page, but it's just in case those whiners come over here too.)

  • If u want real metal gear !! Yea I'm sure! Cat S60 better than GS7A !

  • Won't this come in a Duo version?

  • lol..dude you need to get your eyes checked

  • Cat S60 > GS7A.

  • Is this really just ATT exclusive? I thought the market was moving past that. I really don't want to buy a locked phone, or at least have the option to choose between careers. All the other S phones are available on all the other three major carriers as well...

  • Yup... but that could be a beast of a phone if it had USB-C, front firing stereo speakers, OIS for front cam, audio DAC like HTC10 hope we can see these missing in note 7.

  • both

  • So how does that sound to you just £24.60 per month including VAT?

  • Aliexpress.com

  • Samsung gets it. Water resistant. Huge battery. This is what works best. No more battery anxiety.

  • the s6 active was waterproof as well. and it wasnt just a wee bit.

  • This phone looks good, with 4000 mAh it may take until 48 of full usage without having to charge it.

  • S7 active looks more stronger then s7 & edge. I will by if it available for UAE.

  • Non-removable battery? They'd better go full waterproof this time.

  • ...outdoor phone withhout FM radio...shame on you Samsung !

  • only great mobile with Sammy are the Active series, Note and Edge series then the Note Edge itself (originator of Samsung's curved screen) anything else has bad battery and lag issues except S4 and S5

  • AT&T? strongest LTE network? Verizon is laughing

  • Dope!

  • On the up side, these phones never need a protective cover so it compensates for their added sides, on the down side, if the back cover is as ugly as the one shown on the rumored photos, you will still need a cover to hide your shame.

  • Shockproof or shatterproof?

  • Yep

  • As a commercial aspect, it is very ugly, but the equipment is top level. Shame.

  • I hope this phone is real and that it will become available in Denmark. The it is going to be my next phone.

  • Monster phone

  • will it withstand a tactical nuclear strike?

  • What is that website ur talking about with the S6 Active unlocked

  • AT&T is the strongest 4g lte network. if the other companies have 1 bar in an area,at&t has 2 bars. there nothing wrong with at&t.

  • Get an unlocked S6 Active from Ali Xpress (as I did) and enjoy - I'm very happy with my S6A.

  • Untied to the monster AT&T ? That why I didn't buy the S6 Active.

  • It would be so nice if the s7 active will be available for Europe aswell. My s6edge isn't tough enough and there's no other options available.

  • is this going to have the usual army design as the other actives

  • This is one of the most powerful phones.

  • I'm waiting for this version hope put 4200 MAh battery on it
