Samsung Galaxy S9 - User Reviews

  • Only bad thing ( battery )

  • super phone, sound, display, quality......bat battery is for this money very bad

  • That's because you're using the Snapdragon model. Exynos models have better support, and updates come regulary every month.

  • Have you ever used a smartphone before?

  • Am using the s9 with the snapdragon chipset and am still stuck in may android security patch, no updates up to now

  • You could update via Odin. Plenty of instructions out there.

  • its been almost one year i'm stuck on android 8 update my security patch is september 2018.... what should i do... ???

  • Am using the s9 with the snapdragon chipset and am still stuck in may android security patch, no updates up to now

  • With a storage of 64GB, I don't think the number of contacts you can have is going to be an issue. The phone has more than enough space to store contacts. Also, you choose for each contact if you want to save it on the phone memory or the sim-card.

  • How many contract can i add my phonebook?

  • you are right in some case. sometimes if I play videogames my S9 gets hot but not always, and daily usage is perfect. without wifi you can survive even for 2 days with 100 % battery

  • In my experience the Samsung Galaxy S9 was the best comfortable business smartphone. Well done Samsung. I've bought it approximately 1 year ago and still it's in fresh new condition. I don't want to upgrade it to S10 still. because it's still worthy to use.

  • The Exynos is Samsung's in-house chip so it's a bit quicker and better optimized, not available in all regions on all models but if you have a choice take the Exynos.

  • S9 SNAPDRAGON vs S9 EXYNOS whats the difference in both them..... and which one is better

  • Yes it has auto selective focus. And really good one, im comparing this to my old galaxy alpha and it's miles ahead. And that one had it ok too.

  • Then no buy. I will go for the s9+

  • Definately. It will perom

  • Excuse me. You mean I can't make the background blur when taking pictures?

  • I have only one issue so far, when talking the slide bar from the top of the screen is slided down so i cannot close the talk i have to slide it back. Do any of you have the same problem? I tried all setting and checked over but nothing really relevant and helpful so far.

  • no, only s9+

  • It has bokey effect. Use selective focus

  • I m thinking to buy s9.. will it perform well for another year or year and a half?

  • Sumsung s9 camera has bookeh mode or not

  • Same here. Try restart the phone and turn off sleep app for spotify

  • Awaiting peacefully for android 10 with digital wellbeing support!

  • Expecting android 10 with digital wellbeing support!

  • Somebody alive? This is a quiet group..

  • Hello! I'm a happy owner of a S9 my best phone so far without doubts. The only bug I noticed it's that when I'm listening Spotify when the screen locks the music randomly stops! Never happened to me before. Anyone else with this issue?

  • Wait and wait and wait for a better phone.... then when will you buy..? I think you are still using your old Nokia now. Stuck in the dark age.

  • Just got Software Update to Ver. G960FXXU6CSGD/G960FOLE6CSH1/G960FXXU6CSGD. Size: 241.31MB, Security Patch Level: August 1, 2019, here in Indonesia.

  • Battery is excellent if u disable most of it's features .. mine have 5%-6% drain during 7hours of sleep at night . Just don't forget to turn off ur wifi and 4g if not using.. At FHD screen and 50% brightness .. moderate use can last whole day . Very satisfied and Comfortable in hand .. based on my experience with iPhone x and s9 snapdragon I can say this is nearly perfect phone for me .. Don't forget to install gcam for s9 .. for more better picture quality .

  • Just checked for phone sw update and it started downloading 272MB update, 1st September. Quite fast, older August update was only available around 22th August. -main mentioned feature improved camera. Ps; I'm in central EU.

  • P20

  • S7 Exynos still gets updates and still works perfect.

  • I hope they do away with the ridiculous punch hole cameras for the S11.

  • Rubbish remark. I have an s8 and it simply gets better as it gets older. Do not comment unless you actually have one.

  • Don not go for any Samsung mobiles. They always give you a update, before they launch one new version. This update will drain yours phone battery, it will start lagging and heating.

  • Me too

  • I don't see why people are complaining about battery life on Pie. My mom the Snapdragon 845 version and she's happy with the battery life.

  • Wait a year for the S11 and Note 11 to be released as both will have the new Qualcomm chipset which will make them 35% faster than then S10/Note 10

  • I would buy One Plus 7 Pro Cost effective as Huawei P20 Pro Specs are as good as Samsung S9/S9+ Plus zero frame and ultra full screen display (1440p), Not bad huh?

  • You bought a copy

  • I'm planning to buy s9 or p20. Which one is the best?

  • Does have Radio, I am using it now. Also the Battery is 4000mAh not 3000mAh as listed above.

  • does not have radio

  • If you already have the S9, the main difference between that and the S10+ would be the bigger screen, slightly better performance, ect... but they are both very similar, and the S9 can do probably 90% of what the S10+ can do anyway. If you are happy with your current phone then you don't need to upgrade.

  • Are you happy switching to S10+ ? Because I'm thinking of switching to S10+ as well.. Could you tell me the visible differences in both? Please?

  • It's the best phone ever

  • Very bad battery life on exynos version of this phone. Very dissapointed

  • This is a great phone that Samsung had produced. Fortunately it's getting Android Q. They could have increased the battery.

  • Best phone I've ever had. Bixby is nice and battery life is AMAZING. Super high quality photos and 4k recording.... it's amazing!

  • This phone has an incredible battery life... what are you talking about? :)

  • I’m thinking hard about getting this phone. WOW has it on medium plan with Fido plus$200 gift card. Can Bixby button be turned off? Can it be remapped? Does the curved screen take away from the view of the screen?

  • Well it's ok, but 1hr ost has gone bye bye.. thanks to pie update.. the closest that came near oreo was april update.

  • very lousy battery life.

  • Press the power off your phone and after the press the volume up Bixby button and power on/off button

  • Is it good.? Any problem after updating to july update .???

  • Oh you think so? I used this phone for 8 months before switching to s10+ and I can tell you this was the best at its time. It worked greatly, it never slowed down. The updates were steady. The only demise is the battery. 4-5hrs SOT.

  • too expensive, not worth of that price

  • my s 9 shut down and not restarting

  • Google is your friend..."S9 hard reset"

  • How to do hard reset ??

  • Why front camera maximum resolution is showing 5.2mp only , though it is 8mp maximum.

  • Do a hard reset of the phone afer backing everything

  • Just got July update today. Central EU.

  • It is under warranty. Take it back for a check up.

  • Could be something as simple as the speaker being blocked by dirt . If so use blu-tak to clear the speaker.

  • Anybody facing call speaker probelm ?? I just buy samsung s9 2days before and facing the issue that call voice is not clear . Please help what can i do now

  • Yeqh get spigen cover and original samsung foil.. best combo imo.

  • You can go for normal scratch guard that comes in matte or plastic which fits the entire screen including curves. As for screen protection is concerned better get a spigen or high end case where lips are raised at the corners that protects the screen during fall.

  • Is temperee glass required ?? Or display is already sturdy to avoid scratch and crack. If needed which one ahould be used .coz it does not stick for long time due to curve edges

  • hi i brought s9 at&t but cant update in pakistan. where i can find latest firmware

  • I got that with June update

  • New update for S9 (Indonesia) at 11 July, with Night scene now at camera

  • Could not agree more. Stupid uninformed comment.

  • Sorry but I'm going to say it as I see it. You're talking cr@p.

  • Yes i have restarted it several times.and bt same battery capacity.i also did cache partition clean.bt no improvement.

  • No such battery draining here. I get 2-3% drain over night. Some app must be going rogue.. Try to clear internal phone cache. Power down the phone , now press volumeup+bixby+power on hold for few seconds release and on menu clear cache partition reboot and see of that fixes it. Otherwise you can try a app from samsung called: nice catch if it shows what wakes the phone.

  • Have you tried to simply re-start your phone so that it will reset itself.

  • Battery is draining 1% per 2 minutes.its worst power draining issue.any solution to this pls?? Otherwise i have to sell the phone

  • Yeah I saw that too now.. lower front camera resolution, lol samsung what gives? Also adaptive battery still sucks, I turned it off and I'm back to oreo OST. Idk how people apparently get better battery with that adaptive crap? Saw some comments in s10 too, it lasts longer.. not here and I gave it 1month time..

  • Note exist the posibilities to change to 8 mpx, 5mpx is maximum, and is 4:3.

  • It's setting 4:3, and no exist posibilities to setting 8 mpx, because no exist in meniu.

  • Double posting, ckckckck So far with One UI was fluid! I like it

  • Because you choose 18.5:9 ratio 😫 Change at setting to 4:3 to get 8 megapixel

  • You should not buy phones that has an upgraded OS. I have learnt with experience on my HTC M8. Upgrading your OS after purchasing a phone is not a good idea. After upgrading my OS on HTC M8, the battery life and phone lag has increased. Nowdays when i buy a phone. I make sure I test it or read reviews before buying and even not upgrade to other OS. I will stay with the original OS. For S9, it's Android 8.0 (Oreo). What i would suggest is go back to the shop and ask them to replace your phone or sell it off and buy another S9 with Android 8.0. Or tell them I'm not satisfied with the phone, the phone comes originally with Android 8.0 and when i checked after using I saw it's Android 9.0 (pie) which I didn't know before buying. And because of upgrade of 9.0, my phone is eating alot of battery. Incase they refuse, tell them I will contact customer satisfaction and complain that im not satisfied with the phone and you cheated me by selling an upgraded version of the phone to me and im not happy.

  • Don't upgrade your OS to 9.0. You will regret. I have learnt with experience on my HTC M8. Upgrading your OS after purchasing a phone is not a good idea. After upgrading my OS on HTC M8, the battery life and phone lag has increased.

  • How to Downgrade android 9.0 pie to android orio 8.0 .

  • Its available in Dial app. go to 3 dots at top, u wil find it

  • Same problem me also.

  • Afer june update, the front camera dislayed just 5 mpx.

  • Does this phone play ALAC music files?

  • Only US version has FM radio i guess. In india it doesn't come with one

  • Does this phone play ALAC music files?

  • Can someone tell me if he has an FM radio? I know some versions bring. Thank you.

  • the model sm-g960u1 only has access to gps glonass and agps, not gal or bei

  • Get the S9

  • What a handy beauty, one of those rare gems in the era of big phones. I have G960F model, in Pakistan, but I still haven't received Android Pie update. I am not sure what's wrong? Will it take time, as it has been rolled out to Pakistan for few months?

  • Same like as s8

  • Don't know which Samsung device to get S9 or A70?

  • NO STEREO SPEAKERS, only ear speaker doubles as lame second speaker, but if You cover bottom part where real speaker is, the sound can be barely heard which shows how lame the improvised speaker is, but other than that, the phone is overall great, even more when combined with DeX station and monitor + lan port and DeX version of Linux which more and more is getting attention and updates per request... battery lasts few days if fully extended, if not, lasts full day. Simply love this phone ...

  • Try clearing cache partition. It's advisable to do it anyway after a major update or installing many apps at once. My 256GB S9 ran into the same issues but now has decent battery life.

  • I am buy the phone from 4 th may form Amazon's. This time phone pre loded operating system android Orio 8.0 . But one day used after os update showing the notification my phone. After updating the phone android pie 9.0 . But the biggest problem while the phone playing tha music/videos/watching the YouTube incoming the phone calls Automatically go silent the phone ringtones. Please help me problem solving this issue

  • Me neither, I don't play games on mobile phone at all. And I like the design of S9 overall and that its infinity display, S10e lock button is too much at top so it's really not in comfortable zone. Rear cameras are same, but CPU / RAM / Internal Storage is not same, that's why its really hard to choose for a person who just uses android for surfing the web and sometimes try games. 50 Euro difference is very small difference and that is wierd part, why S10e dropped and is at that price and S9 didn't dropped yet.

  • Lol yeah that is really a deal breaker.. if you buy a phone to play a game and then bitch with frickin 1gb to spare it sucks.. that it really must suck. *sarcasm* Fyi that shitty pubg is more demanding and it doesn't stutter. I don't play games use it for everything else and it's a great phone. No low ram issue. The only gripe still is Pie battery optimizations. Oreo lasted a good 1hr more ost. I really thought Pie would extend oreo for 1hr not lose 1. March update came the closest.. may atm still a bit shitty.

  • Sar?

  • I have S9, after 9 months of use the batery life is just bad

  • Try Reverse Movie on Google play

  • Hey ... can you please give a detailed review about S9 battery life

  • Hey guys. So I recently bought this phone (4 weeks ago) in Dubai. It's a 256GB S9 and it came with Android 9 already installed. I charged the phone to 100 percent and started using it without installing any apps. I was getting a battery drain of 1% every 7 minutes. After installing my apps and transferring my data from my Samsung A3 using Smart Switch, (drumrolls please), I was getting a drain of 1% every 3-4minutes The store I bought it from sent me to their care centre who did a diagnostic test that showed the battery life is good. They said charge it a couple of cycles and it should be okay. Well geuss what it isn't. I'm wondering is this issue an Android 9 issue? And if so is Samsung going to release an update to improve battery life because I keep charging my phone two to three times a day an I'm not a heavy user of my phone. My A3 did way better with battery life honestly.

  • No phone has an HDD inside

  • S9. It IS superior no doubt. The 6T is also really good choice but S9 is just dam good. The 6T's screen might feel more useful thanks to its size but yea S9.

  • Should I go for a S9 or a OnePlus 6T? the OnePlus costs about 50 USD more.

  • If the difference is only 50euros, then I suggest you get the S10e since it's a newer phone with some better tech inside "faster processor, more ram, starts with 128gb hdd & more stuff". I have an S9 and it's a great phone. I've never had any issues with it whatsoever but it's over a year old so I would definitely buy the newer phone.

  • Best phone ever

  • Don't not buy s9, the ram as low as cheap devices, the free ram only 1.5Gb and when you install your daily app it goes at 1Gb or lower, so because of this it never run fortnite at highest quality you need to chose the lowest quality to run smoothly. in general s9 suffer from low ram and does't run smoothly.

  • Should I get S9 or S10e, price difference is 50 euros!

  • I was in the same dilemma between these two phones last year. I went for S9 but I regret a bit because I'm into sketching and drawing which is cool with note 8. Note 8 got all the latest updates in it. But I would say only go for note 8 if you are okay with big screen in regular use. Otherwise, S9 is still my favorite phone and I would also recommend it to you as well as it is a very compact phone and has a complete package of specs.

  • Galaxy s9 has very low ram, the free ram is 1.5Gb without any app, that make it no different from galaxy s5, is there any solution to fix that?

  • I improved my battery life by setting up battery saving and following tips found on internet. I am now really pleased with battery.

  • Should i get note 8 or s9

  • Hi all i have an s9 , can anyone help me i want to know how to get the reverse feature on my videos ????

  • but does this mean the s9 will not receive the update coz my security patch thing was last done 1 august 2018 its now confusing coz everyone else is getting an update

  • Actually Android Pie 9 is really good on my S9. It gets a little time to get used to it, but really worth upgrading. Better battery too.

  • What should I pick? S9/S9 Plus or Sony Xperia XZ3... Thanks...

  • Go to settings in phone app, third option will be record calls. Enjoy

  • ur lucky, don't do the update... its terrible & it will drain your battery faster than before. u lose alot of your favorite options

  • Dont buy this crap, i have paid 800€ for a phone with really bad battery and callrecording option removed. Prefer huawei or xiaomi.

  • Yup, I've had mine 8 months, the battery is appaling.

  • my s9 screen is broken (not cracked). color becomes dull. in medium brightness, it shows horizontal lines. i can't claim warranty because it's already more than 1 year.

  • Mine just did. Awesome!

  • The battery lasts as much as its warranty. six months.

  • me neither :'(

  • I would like to hide text message conversation previews from within the app and conversation previews from pop ups and lock screen, but still see the name of the person who sent the message, not "new message". It's half the battle to disable messages from being read from the lock screen or pop ups, but it's not helpful if someone opens the app and reads a few lines of your conversation(s) by accident without even having to go into the actual conversation.

  • guys any help my phone s9 is not updating to android pie

  • Had the note 3, dropped from my kitchen counter to the floor, never worked since.

  • im using note 8 and s9.in my opinion the camera of note 8 is much better than my s9 my note 8 camera is better than my s9 i don't know why..and my 2nd problem in my s9 is it's very hot when i watch youtube or playing games..but my note 8 temperature while playing watching YouTube is normal..

  • You can get goodlock and change clock position through Galaxy apps

  • how come my s9 is taking time to receive android pie

  • Of course Note 8 because it's cheaper, approximate the same quality, this phone has a good stylus, it's a little bit bigger (0.1"), it's mote rectangular. Minuses : not the same battery, little more large bezles and the placement of the fingerptint scanner it's bad and it's with some months older.

  • definitely S9 if you care about the sound quality and you want a better camera performance overall

  • Idk

  • S9 or A50?

  • my exynos s9 display become washed since this week. the usual deep black background of Netflix and spotify become dull black. i compare to my s7 and the s7 is just ok. i guess it's software problem. anyone have the same problem?

  • hey guys my s9 hasn't received an update for android pie is it normal please help if anyone knows because its baseband version is G660FXXU2BRG9

  • S9 Plus better

  • Probably the Note 4 has a normal 14 MP camera, while the galaxy s9 has Dual Pixel 12 MP. The AI takes two pixels into one and makes the best out of it, if I'm not mistaking

  • Which one is better, Note 8 or S9 Plus.

  • How come the storage capacity and the camera MP of samsung galaxy note 4 are far better . for samsung note 4 the camera has 14MP and for samsung S9 has 12Mp and the capacity for note 4 is 32GB much more higher than Samsung S9

  • I dropped my phone 4-5times and never had a crackle.. But I always had spigen case , it was the slim variant but still kept phone fine, last time it dropped outside on asphalt from 50-1m height sideways and landed on screen and still ok.. case has 2mini dents but barely visible. I own it since last August and I'm really happy with it. Only complaint atm is its battery after pie update. Still testing thos April update got it yesterday, will see in the next days.. March update was somewhat back on track to oreo, but still not quite it. Ost durability mostly.. idle is fine and doesn't drain.

  • "I doubt it will last another 6 months" Oh I dont think it will last even half that time after reading about how you look after your stuff. I'd wrap yourself in bubble wrap if I were you and would never leave the home. This is the most extraordinary account of neglect and disregard for technology I've ever encountered. Truly unashamed too and you try and even blame the phone. I've never heard such guff.

  • "Worst Samsung Ive owned" Nah, worst owner of a gorgeous Samsung ever. You should be banned from owning any quality products from now on and restricted to cheap flagship imitations until you learn how to look after your belongings. Now go and tidy up your room and stop crying!

  • New April update is live

  • If you have the S8+ then the S10+ would be the one for you or else you would be trading down or wait for the S11+ next year.

  • You mention four falls. Surely common sense would suggest getting a good quality protective cover for your phone. Furthermore why should Samsung be responsible for your carelessness.

  • Worst Samsung Ive owned. Samsung make great looking phones but this is by far the worst quality and least durable phone I've ever owned. Lasted just a week before cracking the screen after a fall onto carpet, battery connector is broken and mic doesn't work on speaker, 12 months in 4 cracks across the phone I doubt it will last another 6 months and this was a $1000 phone! Vodafones response was Samsung only warranty firmware not hardware... I won't be buying the S10

  • The battery on mine got a LOT worse with the sw-update, and still is horrible after another update since then. If I had known, I wouldnt have made it.

  • New update...better selfies and wide angle option now.

  • Yea. At the top.

  • March update is getting there.. almost, but aloooot better then initial Pie rls back in January. Ost is getting back on track too, still not as on oreo but very close.

  • yes.

  • is there a notification led that lights up with the missed calls and any coming notification?

  • 1- This phone supports MirrorLink, which let's you plug the phone to a car's head unit and operate your phone from it. You can speculate that the phone supports UIBC 2- Yes you can have the home screen in Landscape Mode. You must enable it in the Home Screen settings (long press a blank area, tap settings and disable "Only Portrait Mode" or something like that (wording changes based on your area))

  • Hello Susan I love to help you. Try to follow this instructions Go to Settings-apps-Facebook or any app you need to rectify- app settings-notifications. Then set the notification to your preferred. I hope this helps. Rich dad!!! Cheers

  • Yup a dup that's what i'm going to do!!! Wait 6months then grab 10e

  • Does anybody know if this phone supports User Input Back Channel (UIBC) when using Miracast? The purpose is if you hook it up to a compatible car head unit, you can mirror your phone's screen on your head unit and use the touch screen to control it. I can't find any information about this on any sites. Would rather not buy a phone just to discover that the S9 doesn't have it. Sony phones have it, but I'm sick of Sony phones and want a change. No idea which brands are doing this. Also, can you have home screen in landscape mode on this phone?

  • Go for S10e rather than s9. Wait some time so that prices will come down

  • Does the S9 battery improved after Android Pie update. I want to buy one and i don't know what to do. I had S8+ and i don't know if to buy S8 or S9.

  • my s9 b4 fast charging40mintues only and its its full charge.but why now it takes 6 hours to full charge ? is this bcoz of the new update?pls give advice comments on this matter t.i.a.

  • Nice phone, good design , One UI was awesome with the dark mode support and rarely lags. However, battery life could be better and I could last around half to full day. The durability of this phone bad though. Dropped it on the floor accidentally and the paint on the side of the phone just came off 😔. Also micro scratches for no apparent reasons.

  • I got my S9 in november 2018. After a while I'm having problems with the sound of notifications. Sometimes it will play the sound and sometimes not. I have restored the factory settings and it still did the same. It updated the software on 8 Mar 2019 and it is still doing the same.

  • Put the charger into the socket whilst phone on, then shut phone down and then reboot with cable still in. Worth trying.

  • i bought a Samsung Galaxy S9, and have only used it for a month, was trying to charge it after it got drained and am getting a massage that there is moisture in the Charge port so cant charge. tried to blow it with some warm air from the toilet warm air expeller but still it cant charge what do i do.

  • Thanks It works

  • Assuming you mean the One UI 9.0 update. The one was I know how to do is to be on recent apps and hold on the app icon and it should have a menu where it says “Open in split screen view”. Hope this helps.

  • Go to check opened apps and click on the icon of the app then the option will show up

  • How to enable multi window after today's update ?

  • When will its price drop in Indonesia?

  • Thanks for posting :)

  • It's ok compared to regular budget pnes, but still crappy. Atm rocking Bose sound sport android buds and they're amazing.. bass and clarity is on a whole new level, like old schools Sony earbuds e.g. mdr-e931 etc.. I prefer these old style without that ear pressure and in general they have larger eq response not so high pitch sickle sound.

  • Mine was 2% overnight 8hrs with oreo. Exynos version. With pie it went to 4-6%.. also lost 1hr ost. With Feb patch I got back to 2% 7hrs idle. Still testing ost but it's a lot better then what it was at first. I also disabled that adapt battery feature, seems wonky and unreliable. Actually when I disabled that adaptive battery my idle time went back to 2% overnight. I use to get 1-1.30hrs extra ost fast vs normal charging, in total from 6 to 7.30hrs on avg by oreo. With initial pie it didn't make a difference in both modes it kind of sucked and lost 1hr instead of gaining one extra. At least that's what I hoped for when I heard/read about this adaptive battery. I switched it on off but it didn't affect ost much, now with Feb update it's getting back to oreo time, somewhat. Atm using normal charging mode and no adaptive and seems in line.. I know almost always I got 3.40-3.50hrs ost at 50% battery left, initial pie it was 2.50-3hrs. Atm as I'm typing this its 67% and 2.10hrs so lookslike that 3.50hrs might be doable again and total time north 7hr+. I have Feb update 2-3days now, 2nd charge so it needs to settle a bit, but overall much better again. Hopefully I will see more in the future like they promised in the first place oreo to pie.

  • Yup, i mean from 12am to 6am. For normal day like today 4h 57m battery reduce from 100 to 77% And mine have samsung call recorder too

  • I recently bought a Snapdragon Galaxy S9 and gave my Exynos one to my sister. With both on Pie (1st Feb security level), I have to say there are noticeable differences, but ONLY if you compare them side by side. From what I've seen, Snapdragon version is superior in gaming and network related tasks such as web browsing and watching youtube vids. Exynos version is superior in the camera department, being faster in launching, switching modes and capturing. Real life battery performance is harder to judge, because of different settings, usage pattern and habits, but she hasn't been complaining.

  • IF you are genuine and not just having a laugh/trolling. I apologise and suggest that you do what other people do and browse the play store and simply download a call recording app. To knock the phone for not having call recording built in. I really have to agree with what 'Scorpio' said to you when you moaned about not having that function built in.

  • He/she did say the phone was in an 'idle' state when only losing 5% over 6 hours. I don't think that's beyond the realms of possibility. An example might be that if your phone is left overnight untouched beside your bed whilst you sleep in a dark room for example.

  • Are you having a laugh?

  • Why no call recorder?

  • Very bad baterry life..

  • If you had done your homework you would have known that before you bought. Actually I'm not sure that there are any phones that can record automatically.

  • 6hrs only 5% consume ?? is that a fantasy or just your phone in dream ??

  • What the hell did you buy for $1200?

  • how about the performance of the AKG Ear phones ??? can someone tell about the quality ??

  • What is happening to Samsung? Why no automatic call recorder? I cannot record my call. This is upgrading or degrading? So, I'm thinking my 1200 Dollar is wasted

  • It's a great phone but the battery capacity could be a little bit better.

  • Why not just go to a store and try both phones for yourself and make a decision?

  • S9 4gb ram 256gb rom or Honor View 20 8gb ram 256gb?

  • Is there anyone else apart from me who haven't got the android pie update?

  • Better installed moded samsung rom. You get latest samsung function also battery life superb. Idle phone for 6hour only consume 5% battery

  • Use this Link and follow the steps!. Battery has improved a lot. I mean A LOT!!!!G960FPUS2BRJ6_G960FSER2BRJ3_SER.zip is the zip I installed. I'm getting 3.50 SOT even without battery saver turned on!

  • Running Pie on S9 with 0 issues. The only thing I did was, backup the data and reset the phone to factory default. Restored the data and all is so smooth.

  • For battery on Pie, Optimised performance is the best to use. The medium power saving will keep most of your apps like Gmail inactive and no sync. Same thing for WhatsApp too unless you open the app. Too bad. Optimized is great. All good.

  • Just got an S9 yesterday. Really sleek and easier to hold than iPhone 10 which is slightly chunkier. Hi resolution making screen crystal clear. Sound is not, in my opinion, quite as good as my S7; but I will update when reasonable time has passed so as to give it a chance. I just find it so overall outstandingly great I had to share these views immediately. Have put a 256G expansion micro SD Card in and on top of original 64G internal memory which gives it ample storage. Functions are berry zippy and apps seem to function well. This phone is well worth getting!

  • How can i downgrade?

  • my JBL free headset is also problematic. the other person can't hear my voice. to listen to music always disconnects the left and right connections. Damn it...

  • How to get it?

  • Friend, downgrade back to Oreo!I did so.

  • I downgraded S9 from pie to oreo due to poor battery performance. And Im loving it now!

  • Multi window/split screen view is still available. Its through the recents tab by pressing the icon you get the pop up view and split screen view options.

  • Pie update is so weird... heres what i found out.. the more you uses the phone the more ost you will have.. if i use it more im getting 3 and half hours max of ost.. and if not i only got 2 hours and half of ost... means idling eats more of your battery..

  • No, with pie I got even more ram. 500mb more available to user. Also it always has extra 1gb free. But battery is a bit questionable now, needs more adjustments. I got better ost with oreo as funny as it sounds. Precisely 1hr on on avg ost. I expected to get extra 1hr with pie not lose 1.

  • I updated my samsung galaxy S9 to pie version and now the multiwindow feature is gone away. Have anybody experienced this ? How can I give feedback to Samsung ? Anybody knows ?

  • To everyone who owns an S9, do you guys find the 4gb of RAM to be limiting it's performance or limiting the phone in any other way? I'm planning to get this phone as I feel it's size to be perfect for me and I love the no notch display. So, please tell me how the phone is performing with 4gb of RAM.

  • IMHO, it's a matter of taste. I didn't like the Edge versions of the S7 and S6. I can tolerate the S9's *slightly* curved screen for all the other benefits it offered.

  • You knew it was curved when you bought it. The curve is better than flat screen. Tech are changing. Move with the times!

  • Then buy another phone! Stop complaining.

  • Its good has has plenty customization. I like it that way.

  • Does it really matter what side time is at. As long as you see it then why worry. I got used to time on left had side since updating. Its not really a big deal.

  • Good one lol.

  • So your issue got fixed with a factory reset and you hate your broken phone that isn't broken anymore?

  • Why not go for the 128gb s9 or even 256 Mate 20 isn’t bad but you might not like the software experience If you want smaller phone, no doubt s9 is better

  • Bixby is useless .Button is not in a good spot and it is another annoying gadget. It great that Samsung wants to upgrade features but leave the features that worked for years where they are.....time...etc

  • I do not like the time on the left hand side of the status bar.

  • Reset factory

  • I have just ordered my Samsung S9 on the Samsung UK website for £549

  • Try clearing cache partition.

  • Very annoying phone. Way to much customization, functionality horrible. I bought the phone to use the camera and it look like it was built for selfies. Hate the Bixby button. Waste of money. its a gadget nota a god phone or camera.

  • After i update my phone, the battry drain become so fast. Can anyone help me with this?

  • Thank you. I updated to pie yester andcsome themes got updated after update. I know i thought pie wasnt good. But pie is fine. Ive got my fav themes to apply on my phone which is good.

  • Bluetooth connectivity issue. I couldn't listen song properly with connecting car. It is intereepting and not clear.

  • Not fully working yet. You get the general looks. But they may have bugs. Such as your calendar, calculator or some other app becoming unreadable because they don't change the font color to contrast the background.

  • Can you plz check themes? Cheers.

  • What about security patxhes?

  • Samsung shit, after my S9 update to OS Pie i can't make call with a double louspeker. if only 1 speaker is better I buy brand Xiaomi. Buy expensive but get low quality louspeaker now.

  • My biggest advice to every Android user is that never update ur smartphone,I just experienced it many many times.Updates just worsen the battery life, Performance (sometimes) And after you update ur smartphone ur device doesn't feel as it used to be. Good Luck for Your purchase anyways!!

  • I didn't check for the themes as I only use stock theme.

  • You can change swipe for tap only when answering the phone: Settings / Accessibility / Interaction and dexterity / single tap to swipe / on

  • Yeah. But themes dont work in pie update. All.stretched over ui. All outa shape.

  • I hate this phone. The curved edges are horrible, stupid gimmick. And the updates are just the worst. Pissing me off every time.

  • I Bought The Samsung Galaxy S9 On August 28, 2018. The Phone Was Good For 5 Months. I Updated My Phone From S9 to S10 Version. And The Phone Is Acting Funny. When Someone Calls Me. I Have To Slide Right 2 to 3 Times. It Didnt Work 5th Times It Worked. Also The Touchscreen. Didnt Work Properly. I Had To Do Factory Reset On My Phone. And It Worked. I Wish I Could Return My Phone. But The Time Was Out. I have To Stay With This Broken Phone. Until May. I Will Be Buying An LG Phone on May. This Year. Never Buying Samsung Again In Future.

  • Curious. My S9 is a joy to use...i even tried low light camera against flagships from the chinese brands and S9 beat them hands down. Great phone.

  • Updated to pie 3 weeks back, no issues till now. Battery performance has increased. I used to get 3hrs SOT on oreo (I am a heavy user btw), Now I am getting about 4hrs of SOT. Standby time has become better. Initially it would drain from 20-25% overnight, now its only 5-6%. Bixby has some issues, it doesnt understands even the basic commands (who uses it anyways), I think the gestures are still buggy as they wont respond sometimes.

  • What rubbish. Your phone is under warranty. If you are having such a bad time why don't you return it for repairs instead of carrying on like a spoiled child.

  • Themes not working right on pie:(

  • I bought this device international version to be use in usa last summer, it's my first time buying a brand new Samsung flagship, hope it would work well with my business, run uber and lyft apps on it. unfortunately it always frost on me then I have to restart the phone, even I kept the phone and the apps at the most updated conditions it still happens till now, very annoying.....

  • It would be helpful if you cared to list the problems, once potential buyer could better compare the pros and cons...

  • Lot of people complain about the battery.this problem resolve when you root the phone and install custom kernel. The battery life wayyyy better

  • I absolutely hate my Galaxy 9. Absolutley hate it. If I had to start listing all the reasons and screw-ups it has committed on its own, I would get a severe headache. Never ever again will I bother with any Samsung phone, period.

  • After updating to pie just hard reset your phone it will be okay, mine got no problem very smooth... though battery still not good...

  • I was a bit puzzled bye the Pie update at first, but know i found it very good, with better battery life. Love that phone, phone but maybe i will get S10 Lite if it is even smaller.

  • One more thing. I just answer to user with opinon. Im not saying everybody should have a phablet! Each to thier own. So dont jump in and acuse me of saying everyone should own phablet. I could say Not everyone wants a smaller phone. Each person has thier own personal.choice on which phone they choose! So read comment properly before posting and throwing insults to users!!

  • I know more about phones than you will ever know. So dont insult me. S9 plus is better. Pie is horrible. Ive had it. Nothing works. Its needs more updates to fix it properly. Lots of ppl are complaining about it. So plz be repectful if you want other users to repect you!

  • Not everyone needs a phablet. If something is better for you it doesn't automatically means it's better for everyone. I has been on 9.0 Pie for a few months now. Once you get past new navigation changes it's all bells and whistles. If someone can't handle technology changes I always recommend a rotary phone.

  • Buy s9 plus. Better and bigger phone. I advice do not update to pie . Worse update to come out. Stay on oreo.

  • Clear internal phone cache partition. Power off the phone, now press and hold volume up+ Bixby + power button, release when you see that blue menu, navigate down to clear cache partition. Reboot. Anyway in my case pie kind of sucks, guess I will need factory reset. This procedure above fixed all my lags, mostly laggy UI, but battery runs worse. I use to get 7-8hrs ost, now 5-6hrs.. but to lazy to do all those tweaks (backups) again.. ah well

  • Good phone for the most part disgusting company when it comes to updates. My only regret it's not going with oneplus or pixel. =_=

  • Not a model I can choose unfortunately 😉

  • Go for Mate 20 Pro

  • My employer gives me a chocie between the Huawei Mate 20 and the Samsung S9. The Mate 20 is newer, bigger, bigger battery, double internal memory... But is is better than the S9. Could you guys please give some advice and or user feedback? Thanks

  • Do anyone's S9 become lagging problem? My phone still stay Oreo, but when open the camera mode/ use much more apps, it starts lag. After update Pie/ OneUI, does it solve these problems!! I wonder to choose Note 9 before I bought S9 :O)

  • Why own such a amazing phone to use dark themes to save battery. I will not update to pie for now. Its awful looking. Iui not nice. I prefer oreo. Themes dnt work on pie. Tried beta and it looks horrible.

  • always had iphone and just moved over to andriod, got the s9, need to know what the best emulator to use for gaming? im in uk.

  • My S9 is for Singapore market. Since i have downloaded pie i started using dark theme from samsung aps. I am not sure is it because of that but my battery is much better now. I liked my s9, since its battery was worse then s8... as i said liked, it was dissapointing a bit after i used s8. Now i love s9. WAY better batery life.

  • Best look, and best performance...still amazed how a single camera with dual aperture can take stunning pictures both in daylight and in night time...Good thing they will use the same type of camera in S10.

  • Have you ever used xperia xz2? U should try one you'll see

  • Looks... amazing... performance... crap crap crap

  • *S9

  • So samsung so on pie is really better in singapore? Curious cos i'm from singapore and haven't update my phone.

  • Good luck going back to old age.

  • I agree with you

  • updated to one ui singapore. the battery lasts longer and better

  • Gorgeous phone but so much lags go back to Sony sorry Samsung

  • You are right. Just downloading my pie version for S9 from Singapore. 1.7 GB

  • Battery sucking machine!!! Exynos version updated to pie here... s9 is a joke!!! This my last samsung phone...

  • You mean you finally updated to pie right?

  • Is beta pie diff to offical pie? Can things not work on beta but will work on offical pie?

  • Finally i update to oreo last night, Up unTill now, i dont experience any major issue. One thing i notice maybe the battery life seems longer than before. I experience No heat problem. Soon After the update i clear the cache partition. I do like the UI looks now. But in recent apps i like the vertical way than the horizontal looks on this Pie Well, thats for now i quess. Lets see a couple of days later

  • What you can generally expect after a major update is battery drain and heat issues. But it usually normalises after a few days. The phone simply needed to dedicate more resources to relearn your usage pattern.

  • If you never tried other flagship out there otherwise this is the best.. 😂

  • It has loads of problems on s9 plus. Ive been reading diff reviews and some like pie and others dont. Better to wait.

  • true .

  • Does anyone installed the andoid pie update for indonesia? How is the result after update? Is it OK?? I check there is an update for s9 indonesia yesterday but still not sure to install it because several info from this comment section says the update still have problems. Please give any sugestion. Thanks.

  • I only have 1 theme (material black) and it works with Pie.

  • I have iphone xs and Samsung Galaxy s9 the face unlocking for s9 crap iphone xs is consistent even if you are wearing sun glasses

  • Can you tell me if any of your paid themes work after updating to pie plz?

  • You dont need any patches when the update comes... i once stuck in november patch when the update arrived.. philippine user

  • I just hope it will come... i think we need to get patches from november and december before that...

  • ...any one experienced on Pie One UI that Viber app showing message “No connectivity” during initial set up?

  • In pie nomore free themes. You get it for 14 days and then it reverts back to custom theme.

  • Hopefully exynos 9820 will support FM Radio

  • When does Android Pie arrive in Singapore?

  • Android 9 Pie haven't arrived in Singapore

  • Awesome I see there is no shortage of guinea pigs to test out Pie on the S9. Will wait.

  • Factory reset your phone after the update.

  • I get 6hours SOT on my Samsung s9 and the battery has been great. All I did was switch off the fast charge. And I got a new 2amp charger(non fast charging) and I charge my phone that way. 0-100% takes 1h:35mins.

  • After pie update battery get worst... phl

  • Restart your phone once again, also find those 3rd party apps which have not been updated by their respected developers to be compatible with Android Pie.

  • Battery fast drain After update android pie in India.

  • Thats good to hear battery is good for you now. I dont see a major diff in pie update either. Does all your themes you had on oreo work now its on pie?

  • Same.

  • Good to hear. I had to be very conservative to get through the day on a single charge. I have the gulf region version which already got android Pie. Battery performance was terrible for the first few days after the update and the phone got quite hot. Worse than on Oreo. Now it's better and my old theme (Material Black) is working. But other than for battery life and security patch, I honestly don't see much improvement after updating.

  • Ive exynos version and have had no problems at all. Infact its running smooth. Battery is amazing. Glad i got this version.

  • Idk I use some free icons from theme app and they sticked when I updated. E.g. my lock screen with video wallpaper, notice custom icons bellow

  • Then il stay on oreo until themes apps etc are updated to pie. Thanks.

  • They won't work unless the developer updates them to Android Pie.

  • What about paid themes that i use on oreo? Will they still work on pie? They didnt in beta version. Plz advice.

  • Too bad that exynos 9810 version does not have FM radio..

  • Go to Always on display setting u can change setting in it...

  • I got it....Thanks.

  • Right now they're probably dedicating more resources on the Exynos versions which were problematic. Let's just hope they get things right for everyone.

  • You can still config it to stay active all the time. And yes this new tap to wake is new. What I miss is edge maintenance shortcut. But then again now it can auto fix it once per day. But still I use it only to check battery usage.. Also they really improved auto brightness and it doesn't overexpose so aggressively anymore. Camera it great and fast, also has new scene detection and does t overexpose that either anymore at auto mode. Dark theme also very fancy.. New app switch/Sliding is cool too. Gallery has a overhaul as well. Bixby looks nicer now, its interface.. also it's still available to turn off e.g. in handsfree mode.. active only via headphones & if you call it and there turn it off completely. Overall I really like this update.

  • Can you plz post honest review on pie like are paid themes working? Camera? Etc..... anything thing not working on it? Anything else okay?. Thanks.

  • Gee Samsung i wonder when us in the US wil get pie.

  • I have one, it's very good phone the only one thing that i don't like about this phone is the battery, I'm not saying it's too bad but it's not very good too.

  • updated yesterday battery life got better now..I am happy

  • The Always On Display does not always remain active, but you can tap the screen once and it will come on. But it will go off again after a while.

  • Yes! AOD is not working. Bibixy button has been made active and cannot be switched off / disabled any more. :(

  • Just received the Android Pie update on my Galaxy S9 in India. Some really good UI Design changes & most importantly the battery life seems much better than before. One issue I have noticed is that the AOD (always on display for lockscreen) function is not working. Anyone else facing the same issue ?

  • Yay, finally!! Just got it today on 16th January

  • Whats wrong with S9 from Singapore? Last patch is from 0ctober the 1st.

  • Just got Android pie on my galaxy s9 in India.. working like a charm...buttery smooth..battery also got better..

  • Your welcome. You have made a wise choice:)

  • Very happy with my S9 on Pie, perfect size. Just need a bigger battery, but with fast charging it is ok...will probably get S10 Lite as i like small phone.

  • Malaysia got One UI + Pie! So far so good.

  • Thanks for the reply, will go for the bigger S9+ :-)

  • Your very rude! Why the Duh? Reply in a nice way. that way you will be respected by users.

  • Buy s9 plus. Yes its bigger than s9. Im a girl and i find it easy to use. I can pop it in my pocket. Ive owned it two months and im glad i chose it. Good for watching videos, etc. Texting is easy for me. And if ppl find it hard to text in big screen then swipe it down to smaller screen. It has that feature.

  • I always prefer small size phone as its easy to carry in pocket so i brought S9 the day it was launched.Camera is very good and no performance lag ever battery doesn't last full day have to carry a power bank .I have a dual sim version bith sims on VoLTE I get approx 3 hrs SOT.

  • No soda coke or pepsi gonna help, go grab a beer and you'll be fine ;-)

  • The battery life is a bit disappoint,if only samsung make this phone fhd+,it will be a battery life king. I have this phone and zenfone 5z,and the battery life on zenfone 5z is better

  • Ok, Im with you on much you have said based on his/her response to you. I didn't think the 'duh ' was necessary though.

  • Well sooorrryyyy, but in your original post you said nothing about money and/or value being a factor. Sounds like you already had your decision made, too, you were just looking for some validation and what better place to ask than a S9 forum right? K guys I'm going out to buy some soda Coke or Pepsi which is better? Help me make me feel like I'm making the right choice. Thx. Lol

  • Thanks for the honest reply :-)

  • Why people bother to ask such type of questions?? Cause if I can get a phone (say S9) for less price with almost the same specs than the much expensive (S9+) then it makes no sense to shed extra bucks which I can save. That's why I bothered to ask "such type of question".

  • For people choosing between models, don't take the opinions in here too seriously. They then put yourself and ask yourself how they feel. Personally I value pocket space more than the extra size of plus phones, it's not for everyone. Try them out!

  • I'd go S9. It has a brilliant big enough screen but fits perfectly in the hand (I have big hands) and performance is identical to the plus :)

  • Was the "duh" really necessary?

  • Dunno if you are right there,I used to think that but some like a more compact phone. For some the plus model feels awkward in the hand, just doesn't feel right.Could be that it sits better in a pocket or whatever. .... many reasons, each to their own, we are all different n all that

  • Everyone's gonna say take the S9+, duh. Why do people even bother to ask these types of questions?

  • Go for s9 plus. Amazing phone and big screen which is easy to text with. Best phone of 2018. You wont regret it friend:) AMAZING !

  • Just out of interest, you say that the case was ok and survived the fall without a scratch. What height did it drop from? You say the case was 'drop proof' what do you mean by this exactly and did it meet any international recognised standards for example? Are you most disappointed about the phone or the case?

  • yes s9 plus is the way ta goooo

  • Yeah it has Gorilla Glass 5 but that doesn't mean it's unbreakable. But hey what glass phone regardless of the model or manufacturer can't be broken?

  • I'd go s9 Plus, but hey that's just me. if you can get your hands on both phones in a shop to see how they both feel in your hand then that would possibly help you decide rather than asking a few random people on the net.

  • Go for S9+ bigger screen, more RAM, bigger battery and ... 2x zoom :)

  • Planning to buy a new phone in couple of weeks time, should I go with the regular S9 or the S9+?

  • Yes just now with Pie update in France

  • One question Does it lag

  • I always have a problem of restarting. Not specified of which of app is open ,it happens even when i open gallery or whatsapp or closing apps. This thing is getting me bored because happens even 4 or 5 and more. Please help.

  • What about December 2018 security patch. Has anyone received it i pakistan

  • Help please, When I set up for fingerprint scan it still keeps asking me for a PIN to unlock my phone instead of the fingerprint actually just working. I'm getting ready to take this stupid phone back because of all the issues like this.

  • Just updated to Pie..no problem. And a really longer battery life too. Don't hesitate to upgrade !

  • S9 is best

  • Yeah! Black theme is nicely implemented.

  • Nice phone, but not much different than S7. The only thing that is different is the samsung account, which is forced to you at every step. You cant even change the theme on the phone without samsung account. I've already 'sold' my personal data to google, I don't need another corporation snooping arround and without samsung account you can't get all the features this phone is offering. This is the reason that s9 is definately my last samsung phone.

  • Had a phone case thats advertised as drop proof. Then i dropped my phone wuih the case and the case was fine no scratch. Whats not fine is the back glass cracked wtf. I thought its back is gorilla glass also

  • Main options menu then navigate to google Google/search & assistant &voice / settings google assistant /settings - language assistant Or by search & assistant & voice/settings- speech

  • To change accent of the assistant. There was always multiple choices but I don't see any. When I watch videos how to do it the options aren't there. I've had cheap androids in the past and had no problem doing this.

  • Change to what..? to open Google assistant press and hold that touch square button. Idk where else you can set it, maybe in options Google management section. There are all Google settings in one place. Otherwise maybe in samsung accessibility options menu. Or type in settings search - assistant, to show all available options connected to that word.

  • Can someone help me please. I’m trying to change the Google assistants voice but I see no buttons to do so on my galaxy S9.

  • Nice to hear that. Do you use balck theme?

  • my s7 still snappy, battery life can reach 5 hrs sot easily with WiFi always on and gaming.. a 3yrs old device, just received a December security patch as well.. Samsung has caught up with Apple also own 2 iPhones - updates are useless if it will kill your battery faster (that's what I feel with iOS 12) Apple's Planned obsolescence is real! My 7 plus will be my last iOS device

  • Can anyone tell me how to change ok google voice? I looked on the web but there is nothing on the phone for preferences.

  • Has anyone received december 2018 security patch on s9 in pakistan?

  • Have you received the Android pie update and what's your region??

  • The battery has improved with Pie and the software is very stable/fast.

  • I think the wind is changing Samzung getting better, things like One UI... Apple is same old but more importantly !they want big $$$$ Greed!

  • Installed it yesterday. No problems so far. Antutu benchmark score's slightly higher than before (24k vs 22k). Going to see how the battery fares today.

  • Hi guys... is the new pie update stable?

  • Should i buy the Pocophone F1 or the Samsung S9? What are your thoughts on this.

  • S9 .

  • Its a no brainer. S9 every time. My wife has iphone8 and I gave S8. Prefer mine any time.

  • Hey guys what do you think, iphone 8 or samsung s9? In terms of camera, battery life, software and long time usage.

  • Their is . is not out yet , just beta

  • no PIE ?

  • Why FM radio just in 2 countries?. You better sell just there.

  • Also just got december monthly update yesterday. Nothing major in it.. the usual stuff, security, "speedups", optimizations.. etc.

  • I'm using samsungs original foil protector and it's enough. Spigen cover takes care of those curved edges.

  • I think you described S9+ not S9, because S9 only have one camera at the back.

  • Interesting comments. I have an s8 and love it for its' efficient use of screen to body ratio. I will be due for an update to s10 next year. My preference would be flat screen for screen safety purposes but only if Samsung can manage a similar screen ratio. I guess all will be revealed in a couple of months.

  • I have both S8 and S9 at the moment, best phones ever. Cameras, screen, speakers, speed, upgrades....eveything is top of the range. The fight between S10 and P30 will be interesting.

  • I share the same preference, but I think Samsung is (partially) doing the right thing providing both flat and curved screen to really see the market's overall preference. At the moment, you can't rely on feedback of people already owning S9 which doesn't have any alternative. Moreover, they are not the ones expected to upgrade to the S10 family. Owners of S8 and below are their main target. So, IF many S9 users upgrade to the S10 flat, that's really telling something. Too bad they won't have the most advanced S10 with flat screen option. But maybe that's not a risk they're willing to take. I do hope it will be available for the S11.

  • True and its really hard to find screen protectors for these curved screens.

  • SAMSUNG will lose this time if they will make curved screen s10 or note 10. Most People are fed up now with curved screens. At the starting S6 edge was pretty cool looking device but curved screen era is over. Curved screen phones issues are 1.Lack of responsiveness on edges 2.Break easily 3.Lack of full screen view 4.Accident touch Curved screen pluses 1.looks cool to SOME PEOPLE 2.disco/crazy lightning on notification when upside down. I suggest they better go for S10 edge less and S10 edge with both variants plus versions. They must have same ram and processors. No need for lite because samsung is already making those budget phones like J series and A series (their price tags are high too).

  • My s9 screen was not on 100% brightness and after only several months of use the issue came. I think a 800$ Phone is supposed to run perfectly in any condition even the basics like 100% brightness or watching youtube. I have not seen any Apple amoled screen with this issue .

  • Lol. Not only on Samsung phones. Whether it is Samsung, OnePlus or Pixel phones, keeping the AMOLED/OLED screen at 100% all the time will result in burn-in. To avoid burn-in, keep screen brightness around 30% unless you're outside in direct sunlight.

  • I'm a heavy user. No such issue on my s9. The best way to avoid screen burn in is to "turn off auto brightness" and keep brightness level under 50%.

  • yeah, just a single pixel has stuck on green

  • Yes, Samsung screens can burn in. Even their original flagship phones.

  • No. Any screen burn in would be on a copy phone.

  • Anyone experienced screen burn in?

  • I just have gps off and mobile data off if at home. Idk why would that be a bad thing? Do i need them spying on my gps location all the time? I dont think so. I also dont use black amoled thems, have even a video lock screen - looks very nice and i get thqt said battery usage on avg 6-7hrs easly. I just dont use auto brightness and max brightness.. its bad for eyes anyway.

  • hello everyone? can someone give opinion about vid recording.. stabilization n stuff im looking forward to buy this phone for vlog and photography thank you very much

  • Turning it into a dumb phone. These are supposed to be smartphones but oh no we cannot enjoy all its features because of poxy battery and its no excuse. It should last a day with full brightness and qhD screen and gps on etc why should we compromise and render it useless? Year by year goes by and even if GPU/CPU uses no power the screen and aerials do ,we need proper batteries in phone.

  • Just a quick heads up. I am using a note 3. This phone is 5 years old and it stills runs just as good !

  • Just wanted to add At least Bixby, I dont use ok google Also it works by screen off, I have Bixby button configured to act only if I long press ot and it works like that too.. but you need internet connection enabled.

  • Thank you

  • Yes.

  • bro dont regret your decision u can see on jerryrig youtube the huawei breaks easily where s9 construction is tough.

  • If you keep a dark theme and dark wallpaper, power saver on, location off, resolution hd+, screen brightness at lower level & disabling the unused apps it will last 6 to 7 hrs. Otherwise it will last only 4 -5 hrs only.

  • Mine 4hours top

  • How much screen on time on this phone?

  • Does ok google or Bixby work on a locked screen like Siri?

  • The edge screen is for immerse viewing. It looks cool for watching videos and swiping is a great experience but everyone has personal preferences on it. The p20 pro is overrated for its camera. Samsung is much more secure and offer everything in a flagship such as SD card. Headphone jack arguably better after sales support and brand reputation (in Europe at least).

  • Thank you for the recommendation, that looks like a nice case at a reasonable price. I will pick one up before my butterfingers end up dropping my new device...

  • S 10 will be the best...

  • Try spigen Liquid air its awesome, matt black finished amazing stealthy look to your phone... fits perfectly, not to bulky like other brand cases like otter..

  • Get a slim case spigen and it's a blast. I personally own these two - thinfit -liquid crystal Dropped it two three times by accident and survived np, at home on floor tiles from 1.30m height. Both times pulled from pocket and my headphones cord got stuck lol

  • It came down to Samsung S9 and Huawei P20 Pro for me. I opted for the S9. One week later I kind of regret my decision. Here's why: 1) The biggie for me is the S9 design. The rounded-edge screen is good for nothing but causing unwanted inputs because it's hard to hold the device without accidentally pressing something. It also feels like chances of dropping the device are high because you're always trying to minimize contact with the edges. I don't like it at all and I don't understand why Samsung bothers with this. That alone is enough to make me regret my choice. But it's hard to ignore that a similarly priced P20 Pro would have offered 128GB storage to the S9's 64GB, and of course the better camera on the P20 Pro. That said, the S9 performs very well. I just wish that real-world usability was a bigger priority in design as compared to flashy but ultimately pointless features like the edge screen.

  • Hi, I'm planning to buy a galaxy s10 next year. I have never used a Samsung phone before. I was about to buy iPhone XS max last month but after knowing about the S10 I thought of trying it out. So my question to all the Samsung users is that how much is the longevity of Samsung smartphones? When do the issues like battery degradation, laggy performance etc start to occur? and when does the phone totally feels outdated? with iPhones I know if I get the latest one now, I won't have to worry for at least 3 yrs. What about Samsung? I do not want to change the phone for at least 2.5 to 3 years. Should I go for S10? Thanks

  • This is mine atm, just browsing net and some fb, usually I get roughly 1hr or 50min this way from 100 to 90%. now I have ~10-15% brightness. If I game a little it goes faster but still within limits, I use balanced in game launcher for most games. Dont play much just causall games mostly.

  • And dont use auto brightness, unless you keep lowering it so it learns your new algorithm. At max brightness all the time it will drain no matter what. I personally keep it manual and usually 20-30% if at home, same outside until I cant read then raise it more. And if at home use wifi more, mobile data in general will drain faster, unless you live close to mobile tower and have good signal.

  • And what do you do, and what stuff enabled (mobile data 24/7)? The worst i got was ~5hrs, but some app was draining it.. weak signal. Otherwise always 6-7hrs np.. more like 7hrs on avg. If you keep it idle close background apps and use that buildin cleaner more often. Also tweak battery save to your liking and use that more. I have battery save 80% of the time, fhd option, read somewhere it interpolates 1440p resolution - fakes it.. so now i just keep it the way it came pre-enabled, data save in background can be handy too, doesnt refresh as often, but then it has a slight delay.. can be handy on mobile data though so it doesnt drain as much. Aod is configured on time, I have it set from 10am until 6pm. And check battery usage more often to see If some app goes rouge, by me there was Google play services one time.. had some trouble fixing it but I did in the end.. was some conflict with personal ads and one game. Also when ever new monthly update/patch arrives flush internal cache. Volume up + Bixby +power button and delete cache, just cache nothing else, reboot and it will settle after a few days.

  • I am a normal user. So i kept my battery in power saving mode and turn off all sensor and features which cause battery drain fast also i kept static wallpaper and do device maintance frequently.

  • I have to admit battery isn't that good. I get 5h SOT with heavy usage but it still feels not a lot.

  • How many hours is your screen on time? Mine just 4 hours plus..

  • I buy S9 64gb exynos version in october so its an outstanding phone with flagship features in compact size. Yeah intially battery was an issue but now its good with normal usage.

  • As an open-minded iPhone user, I think this phone is highly underrated. I have only once seen one of them outside a store. Since the price dropped so much, I think it makes much more sense to buy this over the OnePlus 6(T) and many other phones. It may not have some sort of flashy sliding or notch or color gradient back, but it is really solid overall, and by not picking up every stupid trend like the sliding, it is a rather sensible option for most people.

  • Awesome AMOLED screen is terrible. Buy an iPhone. Awesome dual aperture camera is terrible. Buy an iPhone. Awesome MicroSD card slot is terrible. Buy an iPhone. Awesome flexible Android is terrible. Buy an iPhone. I could go on. You get the idea. Just saying it's garbage is a worthless comment.

  • You're welcome. Hope you enjoy your S9 :-)

  • Thank you very much, my friend for this wonderful advice and your talk about the update is true..ill buy a galaxy s9 tnx my friend :)

  • Any solution in exynos battery drain problem?

  • Go for the newer S9 as it'll get the android Q unlike the S8 for which android P would be the last upgrade. Well for me I'm really enjoying my S8 as it's a great phone & would stick to it for at least a year or so.

  • Buy the s9 , truly great phone , you won’t be disappointed.

  • tnx a lot my friend for your opinion so you advice me to buy s8 or s9?

  • Don't buy the Xperias they've the worst cameras, I've used the XZ & XZ1 and both had disappointing cameras, even though they get faster updates but nothing improves the camera whatsoever. Right now I'm using the S8 and I'm really happy using it.

  • Friends i will go tomorrow to buy a new phone I am confused between the s9 and the xperia xz2 which one would i buy?

  • So tell me, what is so special about the iphone??

  • Why don't you detail your concerns. Otherwise some people may suggest that you are just a troll or don't even have this phone. If you are unable to give your reasons then I would also suggest that you are trolling.

  • the phone is terrible , buy an iphone

  • you are simply blaming s9, its awesome phone, infinity displsy is awesome, and home button on screen acts as physical button, you can press home button. if you have good vision then can easily differentiate between top and bottom of phone

  • The top of the phone has the speaker piece and cameras etc. How can you not know top to bottom. Press the bottom middle and you have your switches displayed. What is so hard about that. I don't use bixby so I disabled it. I had an s6 before my s8 and the transition was quite painless. I did hit the bixby button a few times but then you quickly learn to avoid it. My s8 is beautiful to look at and beautiful to use though no phone is perfect. They are all a compromise somewhere.

  • Have you got the November security patch? I'm struck at October 1!

  • i have S9 and i have no problem. its a awesome phone and i like it.

  • Had S7 for 2 years, this month switched to S9. A slight disapointment: 1) too slim, edges too slipery, drops off hand very easily. Some kind of phone holder is a must. 2) front surface is blank and booring, I am constantly confusing where is top where is bottom as there are nothing to easily differentiate, even Samsung lettering is gone. Max screen area is nice, but this is reached with certain sacrifies 3) HOME button is gone. This was very practical button and the only "touch and feel" button when answering the calls, etc. 5) Instead, a special Bixby button appeared close to Volume buttons. In reality useless as you can switch with it only to the marketing platform media stream but no other function can be configured. 5) Charger connector is new type, meaning that all my home family and other gadgets chargers are incompatible. Anything significantly better comparing to S7? Well, nothing spectacular indeed, except that there is frequently used apps pop-up toolbar floating on the edge.

  • I had the XZ1 and its camera was a huge disappointment. Sold it at less than half the price and got the S8, can't be more happy.

  • Really like my S9. Compact and yet so powerful and great camera...and i get a software upgrade every month now.

  • Xperia xz2... Battery life and camera are better on the SONY

  • hello friend galaxy s9 or xperia xz2?

  • Forgot to add But I don't have mobile data enabled all the time, use it only when I need it, otherwise I use wifi when I'm at home.

  • If you use max brightness all the time then it will be a little better. But if you keep it more conservative then it will last 2x more. I got around 4-5hrs OST max on my old Alpha, now it's 6.30-7.30hrs or so on avg full discharge. Atm as I'm writing this I have 39% left and 4.44hrs OST, idle time 1day and 8hrs. Battery save option, but all options active, a part from that brightness and CPU. I enabled it last night when I went to sleep, still enabled atm.

  • It's okay, until you charge it 350 times+ about average for a lipo, then it blows just like the rest.

  • I can't really comment on that as she plays games with other people on hers and generally uses hers a lot more than me. I do know that she frequently charges her phone every day but I don't know how far she lets it run down. My phone will normally see through a full day with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and mobile data always on and display set to max resolution.

  • Could you brief me about the battery life? That's my main concern with the S9. I've heard the Exynos version in particular has a terrible battery life. I don't want another battery nuisance like Alpha

  • Should I get the oneplus 6t or Samsung s9 if they are the same price

  • I went from Alpha to this s9 ds exynos. Check my location ID in comments section.. I posted few times in the last 1-5pages. Got the phone back in July and I'm very happy with it.. Android pie will only make it better and last longer.

  • Go for the galaxy s9+. Its much better.

  • Can anyone help me choose between the OnePlus6 & Galaxy S9? I currently own the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, which I've had for the past 4 years, and I've been saving money for a new phone since the past 3-4 months. I'm someone who keeps his phone for 2-3 years at least. I listen to music and browse YouTube A LOT, an avid user of social media too. Am a moderate gamer and photographer. The battery should be enough to last at least a single day or till the evening. Don't use NFC. I want the phone to be fluid and stutter free for the time that I'd have it. The Alpha I own legit has a pathetic battery life which has me charging it AT LEAST 4-5 times a day! Had it not been for that, a lousy selfie camera, constant stutters and lags here and there from the last year or so, and a recently damaged 3.5mm jack I'd still keep my Alpha. So battery life is very important for me.

  • What about mobile battery life?

  • Good luck.

  • I didn't on my S6 aedgeor s7 edge, but do on the S9, I think it may be a defective phone (like the very rare S9's that get that black dot), I be replacing the phone via Warranty if I can tomorrow.

  • I'm not talking nonsense lol, it is visible on dark grey and orange backgrounds... I think my phone is defective as has many issues, so getting it replaced by Samsung tomorrow. Even they are confused by it. But yup, I hope S10 stays similar, just fix some minor bugs.

  • Got it from O2, going to Samsung Store tomorrow to sort it, it burns in instantly and is considerably dimmer than the S9's on show... Thanks for help anyways 😁

  • android pie is not release offically for samsung devices. They just release beta version which might contain bugs. So wait for official update till january.

  • Hi guys... how was the new samsung one ui and pie update? Does the update fixes the exynos version battery problem issues?..

  • It defends on ur choice both devices (S9 and S9+) are great. If you want compact size than go for S9. If you want bigger screen than go for Note 9.

  • I found s9 exynos ds version (display unit) only for 400$ should i buy it?

  • Hello guys, I need a help. Can u recommend which phone I should buy and why? this one S9 or Oneplus 6, both are very cheap for BlackFriday so I want to buy one... Cheers

  • Obviously it have, it's a flagship device not a midrange.

  • does s9 have notification light?

  • My wife has an ip8 and I have an s8. I far prefer my s8. It has superior display and superior camera and larger screen. Performance is fairly similar.

  • Wait for S10 and android pie on s9.

  • S9 or s8 , which is better?? Pls reply

  • Hi guys... how was the new samsung one ui and pie update? Does the update fixes the exynos version battery problem issues?....

  • S9 is a great phone I had it for the last 3 months. The only issue I have is with the VPN pptp connection, I'm able to connect over wifi but cannot connect with 4g, maybe anyone can help?

  • Is this phone (s9) worth buying or should I go with iPhone 8? I'm currently using S7 edge.

  • I've used the S6 edge+ S7 edge and currently using the S8 and I haven't faced any screen burn issues on any of these phones.

  • My screen brightness is always 100 % on my S8 and S9, never had any burn in screen...stop talking nonsense. Hope S10 will keep the small size of S9, and loud speakers too.

  • like? I posted few fixes bellow, do all that and it's ok. 7Hrs easily OST, if that's not good enough then idk.. I can have idle 2 days and still 6-7Hrs OST.

  • Is the november software update fixes the battery issue of exynos version?

  • Is it not on Samsung's play store? Try downloading from it. Sometimes they can have it not downloaded. Mine has it preinstalled. It is available on the Galaxy play store

  • Did every Galaxy s9 user get their device pre installed with Samsung pay. Mine didn't come with Samsung pay installed and i can't even install it from Google play ? Did any of you have this issue

  • It's live.. just checked and its updating.. only ~63mb though.. so I guess it's only security update. I'm from south Europe.

  • Any news on november software update?

  • Forgot to add, I also cleared normal cache for all apps and that seemed to have helped too.. deep clean. Google play NOXcleaner, it's commercial ads free as well. It cleaned any Samsung app, in total I had over 3gb cache, insta alone had over 1.5gb.. That said all is ok for the last 2 weeks.. got October update on 30th October.

  • You should not get any burn in at any level. My s8 is set at maximum brightness with no burn in. Your phone may be defective and should be returned under warranty or it may not be a genuine Samsung.

  • I think it will. Add nlack /night theme on top and Im sure we are easily looking at extra 15-30% more battery. I mean if Google finally acknowledged black uses less. 250mah vs 92mah in same scenario is something.

  • Can android pie resolve battery issue in S9 exynos version?

  • Dont use fast charge and close apps in background. Time to time when new update comes clear internal cache partition @ boot. When I updated to October update I got a little worse battery but now it's back to normal. 7.30hrs OST or so full discharge. Moderate/heavy use. Brightness usually max up to 50% and normal power saving. Exynos version DS.

  • Great phone, great specs, great performance, but not so good battery life. Not to mention, if screen is over 50% Battery, black images cause INSTANT burn in to the screen...

  • the more downloads the slower the phone works

  • S9 best compact phone at the moment, but wait for coming S10...

  • S8 or s9 which one i should buy..?

  • after update every time samsung phones get slow.

  • Because your phone S9 is Exynos version, terrible batery.

  • Damn... battery life runs only 8hours... is samsung listen to us? So disappointed price is too high to a phone that you can only use for 8 hours...

  • I heard that update make battery worse.

  • I got only september patch when i bought s9 exynos version. No october patch in UAE. 😡

  • Mine is on Exynos, version for Europe.

  • So what?

  • Check if your galaxy s9 has an update.

  • battery of S9 Exynos is not good

  • Position of power butter is too low. Always accidentally turn it off while holding it to read/watch something on the screen. Annoying.

  • Mine is exynos version but it drain battery very fast. Any solution?

  • s9 battery life is not good

  • dude this smartphone shape is 80% like galaxy s8

  • Your S9 have Snapdragon or Exynos?

  • I have been using this phone for 2 months already and have got mixed impression about it. Pros: very well made body and display, good camera and overall performance. Cons: 1. Battery. It is weak for this phone. Because it drains its battery pretty quickly, even if it does nothing. For example, it can drain more than 10% while sleeping for 6-8 hours. 2. The "Bixby" button. I hate it, because all it can do is just summoning for the Bixby panel, which is quite slow to appear and doesn't something really useful. Specifically, it can show some Samsung-developed widgets, but no application I have on my phone supports this panel. Thus, it is pretty poor in functionality. Even worse, it isn't possible to "legally" reassign the Bixby button to something more useful. Furthermore, this button is in such inconvenient place that I keep pressing it by accident. 3. Lots of other flaws in some other Samsung-made preinstalled software in terms of poor configurability and inconvenience. For example, the preinstalled "Messages" app requires you to tap at least three times just to delete a single message. "Camera" doesn't allow you to turn off shooting sound (pretty weird, all phones I have before have such configuration option). And so on. So, I realized that Samsung is very bad in software design, much worse comparing to some famous Chinese developers. As a conclusion: I'm a little bit disappointed with this phone, too many flaws for such high price.

  • Hi guys, can anyone please explain me about battery issue about s9 exynos version? Is this a software problem or hardware. Yesterday I buy this mobile but the battery life is not good it's poor.

  • Cesar, your S9 have Snapdragon or Exynos version?

  • I like cookie dough ice cream.

  • lol your right, sorry for using too many exclamation marks.

  • The intelligent scan feature on my Galaxy s9 is kinda slow. When compared to the videos on YouTube the intelligent scan on my s9 takes about 2 seconds to unlock. Has any Galaxy s9 user encountered this problem ? Please let me know if there is a solution.. Thank you :)

  • Slightly difficult to read through all the exclamation marks there. But thanks for your info.

  • Thank god finally i am decided and buy SAMSUNG S9. its expensive in Europ but better then other phones. and thanks everyone who sharing experiences here and i saw all comments and then i buy.

  • I bought this phone in Late March of this year and it's a great phone! I get 18 hours of battery life on it. The screen is great! The camera is great! I love the android UI also! I get a lot of compliments on the pictures that it takes also! The sound quality is great on the AKG headphones it comes with! The speakers are good! I put it in the water at disneyland and it recorded great underwater! I have my engineering textbooks on it, use it for music when I work and lift weights! Also when I'm commuting to LA for my internship. This is a great phone! I came from an S6 prior. I picked this over a NOTE 8 and IPhone 8 Plus. It was cheaper and fits in my pocket better!

  • I am glad you were able to confirm that. The solution to this is to turn off fast charge option. And use a standard charger. You'll notice the battery works better. I use a 1.0amp charger and the battery had been great. Thank you.

  • I have S8 and S9, and they are both great phones...of course S9 being newer, is slightly better. An now S8 and S9 are getting monthly updates. Great.

  • Awesome phone, it's worth getting.

  • Its now very much change from S8 but is not less change Yea is better than S8 no dough about that

  • Yes. For curiosity's sake, I turned on fast charging again last night. Now it's draining like mad. 46% and it's not even 12 pm yet. So I hear ya. Hope they fixed it in 9.0. Fast charging is a convenient feature. Shame to live without it.

  • Prefer the s9 couse its smaller and more compact.

  • No not yet

  • I already installed it... but i never encounter like what said...

  • The S9 is even better than the iphone X, forget about the 7.

  • im using the October version, it has too many pop up ads, and now and again it tells me that my launcher has stopped and cant access my menu

  • Confusion between i phone 7 or s9? Which is best?

  • I am using the Exynos version an the Bayer is terrible but I noticed and improvement in the battery after I disabled the fast charging... We hoe they get it fixed in the next update.

  • I got a S9 korea G960N version. Can I install the G960F to it? I am not in korea and dont understand the language at all.

  • Have you guys encounter any problem on the new october 1 update?

  • If you need a handy fon go for s9...

  • S9 or s9 plus?? can't decide need help. if you'll choose s9 plus my i know the reason? thanks

  • I too have S8 and S9, both are superb. Camera are great on both, maybe S9 a little better. And speaker on S9 is better...S9 best compact phone at the moment and you can get it for 500 euros with a trade-in and some promotions. Will get S10 for sure, but only 6 months after launch.

  • I did something that I feel I may either regret or felt it was a good deal. I bought a brand-new LG V30 for only £450. I got frustrated waiting and looking for a good S8 deals online but it just fizzled out. Thoughts about the V30 vs the S8+? DO you think it was a good choice?

  • Cameras on both the S8 and S9 are top notch. S9 has better low light camera compared to the S8 as it has f/1.5 compared to f/1.7 on the latter but that doesn't mean the S8 is bad in low lights in fact it takes stunning low light shots. You can visit the following link for the camera comparisons between the two: Hope this helps.

  • It's the Exynos version of S9 that has battery issues. The first week was the worst for me. But I think as the phone learned your usage pattern, it became more efficient. The funniest thing is that disabling fast charging seemed to make it better. In any case, I hope Android 9 brings further improvement. The Note 9 has identical chipset but released under 8.1. Its battery (taking actual capacity into account) is actually great.

  • Hi, What do you mean? Did you do it like so?

  • I'm buying a new phone to replace my old XZ. If I can get almost the same camera experience on the S8 then I will go for it. If the change to the S9 camera was incremental compared to the S8 then I'll blindly go for the S8. My main concerns with the camera are: 1. poor low light performance (front & rear cameras) 2. dreaded purple or orange tinge in low light or extreme sunny conditions 3. over and underexposure 4. unresolved details especially around the corners 5. lots of noise when zooming in (under any conditions) 6. No OIS or (the very least) EIS in both the front & rear camera. (I'm doing more 1080p videos @ either 30 or 60fps than 4K) 7. Audio recording sounds as if the people talking have a blocked nose (mono). 8. Unnatural bland or over-contrasty colours (in Auto Mode) 9. Poorly optimised portrait shots (background blur looks artificial) So, Does this sounds the S8 can easily handle? Or go for the newer S9?

  • I did hear about battery life issues with the S9. But surely with battery-saving tips I've learned in the past that can improve a lot. If I can get the Exynos version (I live in the UK) then battery life I can "manage". Why did you say Xperia phones have heating issues? I've never heard that before.

  • Right now i'm slowly gearing for the S8 due to budget constraints but if I can find a good, m int-condition S9 then I will go for it despite criticisms to it's battery life ((and some from the camera and the usual performance/memory management) which I can live with by doing all those battery-saving tips I've learned in the past.

  • I had the XZ1 before this but the camera was disappointing, specially in low light the pics were quite blurred with lack of details due to no OIS. Whereas the S8 is concerned it has one of the best cameras on smartphone and takes stunning pics in any lighting conditions. As far as the XZ2 and S9 are concerned I would suggest you to go for the S9 blindly, I agree that Sony gets faster updates but those updates don't change anything. By the way my S8 is already running on October security patch.

  • go for the s9. not only it has a better display it also has a better battery life. sony has some heating issues

  • If you are having to charge your phone 4 times a day then either your phone is faulty or you have a copy. If it's genuine then it will be under warranty so you return it for service.

  • Why settle for second best. Go for the s9. I have an s8 and it is superb.

  • Thank you and I appreciate all the comments. At the moment my heart is set between the current S9 and a slightly older Xperia XZ2. Having second thoughts with the S8 simply because of the fingerprint scanner placement and the fact that updates maybe even slower now that it has been relegated to an old flagship. Thoughts about S9 vs XZ2?

  • I don't particularly like chinese phones especially Huawei/Honor as i prefer the UIs of others. If I was comparing the S9 with the XZ2 which votes would go to: Battery life Camera Performance and memory management Speakers output Useful UI features Speakers output

  • i hate the batterylife of my s9 more than anything else. i have to charge it four times a day. its not normal at all. and also charge drops even when i use it when connected to charger. surely if i didnt need its 256gb internal i would sell it sooner but i cant find any better phone in the market except xiaomi f1 256gb which i couldnt find even in china

  • I took tons of pics today with my S8 while exploring the exotic islands in Thailand and at the end of the day I still had 40% juice left. So I think it has great battery life if not the best. Don't go for the mid range A or J series Samsung phones they are no where when compared to the camera quality of S8, it's a stunner no matter what the lighting conditions are. Rest is upto you, after all it's your choice & money.

  • Absolutely, S9 price is absurd compared to all the new chinese phones coming now. That is why there are so many promotions and nobody buy it at 850 € retail price in my country. But if you get it for 500 € it is a compact phone with great quality and top camera. And even if it is 8 months old already, it is much better than P20.

  • For approximately £50 less i could get the brand-new Xperia XZ3 or for £140 less I could get the excellent LG G7 ThinQ. The S9 is absurdly expensive for its specs and features.

  • I am unable afford the Note 9 and i don't need a big screen phone. The Pocophone seem like a good choice but not officially available in the UK and having Xiaomi's UI is not my cup of tea. And besides the Pocophone is not water resistant; having that feature for me is a must as i lost 2 phones in the past worth over £500 in total. As a side question would you agree the S8 has better cameras than the A8 2018?

  • After doing as suggested by you, menu for downloading custom os appeared ?! Any more suggestions ?

  • That's not a very good bargain for S8. I'd still pick it over the A8, BUT, if you want an investment, I suggest saving up a little bit more for the S9.

  • If you're having so many issues after less than one week then I would suggest that you have bought a copy instead of an original. Otherwise your phone is under warranty so return it instead of complaining.

  • I also have an s8. Is there much difference between the two?

  • non of them if you want batterylife. i own s9 and battery life is terrible. so if you want powerful phone with good performance and batterylife go either to note 9 or pocophone f1

  • I needed a second phone apart my great S8, so i bought an S9. Best compact phone with a very good deal for less than 500 €. But if you are not in a hurry wait for S10... I always wait at least 6 months after launch, to be sure all the bugs have been fixed.

  • Hy guys, yesterday i changed my old S4 to the new S9, aaand this is awesome, i wasn't samsung fan... until yesterday, so i created one video of Samsung evolution. Do you still remember your first phone?

  • The normal single SIM S9 is only £130 price difference with the normal single SIM S8 which i thought was a bit stupid and pathetic; I expect the price difference to be above £150 at the very least. I need a phone that I can invest with in terms of camera, battery life and general performance. If investing on those things is a priority would u guys go for the former flagship S8 or the mid-range A8 2018 instead?

  • Try clearing phone cache in safeboot mode. Turn off the phone and Press vol down+ bixby and power until it shows that android menu, then navigate to clear cache, reboot.

  • I have bought this phone on 11.10.2018. The camera app crashes frequently. Is is serious issue? Should I replace the phone?

  • I bought is on 11.10.2018. Battery drains fast. I tried putting off fast charging etc etc., but not working pl help any body. Or should I get replacement?

  • If you're getting the S9 at a good price go for it otherwise S8 ain't bad either.

  • My priority is either the S9 or the S8. Currentky Samsung UK has a trade-in scheme and an installment plan before it ends on the 30th of October.

  • @gino If you can wait, I suggest waiting until the S10s hit the market and decide then. I expect the S9 would drop quite a bit. Also by that time Android Pie would have rolled out so you can check out how well it works on the S8 and S9.

  • That's great. Thanks.

  • No, not at all. I don't use the finger scanner as there are other options like iris scanner, face recognition, pin etc I use the face recognition which works really well. Overall I'm highly satisfied with my S8.

  • Apart from the awful and terrible placement of the fingerprint reader I think the S8 will serve me well. But thinking that the S9 is now on its half-life there are really tempting deals out there and prices are slowly going down.

  • I think the only complain of people is the awful and awkward placement of the fingerprint reader on the S8. Did you feel it was a big deal for you?

  • As stated, personally I'd choose the slightly older flagship. Galaxy S series phones traditionally get 2 major Android updates and came with the chipset to make those updates count. I think a Galaxy S8 will serve you well for at least another 2 years.

  • I've the S8 (midnight black) and I'm more than happy. Always buy Samsung flagship devices (newer or older) rather than the midrange ones which are cheaper but don't serve the purpose and you'll always be happy and content. Have a fantastic day.

  • I have bought this phone for almost a month, It's pretty amazing , love the size of it(perfectly fits on your hand). Works smooth and fast Strong camera Some times i play heavy games on it, S9 still works pretty fine and smooth

  • If you were to choose between the older flagship S8 and the newer but mid-range A8 2018 which would you choose and why?

  • IMO if you have the budget, Samsung flagships are almost always the better deal than midrange phones up to one year later. Because the “midrange” are by no means cheap and cut quite a few corners. If you can wait, the Galaxy S10 family is coming soon, so you can expect a significant price drop of the S9. I concur with the assessment on battery life without fast charging, but I’m hoping it could be even better after 9.0 release.

  • So do you think the S9 is a good investment right now? Or would you rather get the upper mid-range phones such as A8 2018 or A9? Do you think the S9 updates that you received helped with battery life and performance/memory management and camera enhancements?

  • The latest, 9.0.12.2 I'm on September update atm, got 3 updates so far.. bought the phone in end July.

  • Can i ask what Samsung Experience UI version are u on right now? And have you had any more software updates you received?

  • 1. No, never heard of it 2. Read no.1, super quality sound. Same in headphones mode, but I use my own eq setting and with Dolby at music mode. Also using oldschool buds instead of these new ones. 3. Alittle but switching to pro mode (auto) fixes that.. should be a new update out soon to fix it, just like for note9. 4. No, and battery is ok once you disable fast charge option. Longer stamina at least 15-20% longer usage, acts as if 3500mah then. No perf lags either- it has a extra option to reset the phone once a week. I have a exynos ds version, ost on avg 6-8hrs.

  • Start the video in player and then Click on those 3 dots next to that said video and use a option called remove flicker

  • Have been using this phone over a week and has to say this device is wonderful. this clicks some really good photos.

  • Signal issues common problem . I’ve burned through an s8 and in the last month 2 s9s - all requiring antenna replacement. Within the first few weeks! keep dropping LTE signals. And two different providers used. iPhone tested same areas and no issues. Anyone heard of antenna problems?

  • When you are using the phone to call someone, there is an icon on the screen for extra volume...that can be usefull when you are in a noisy environment. Apps - phone - storage - clear data. If not working hard reset the phone after backup with Smart Switch

  • What's an extra volume control in the dialling screen? All your volume controls are in the phone Settings menu.

  • Best guess is early next year. I really hope they will optimise the board support package of the Exynos version to fix the battery issue. This really is the perfect phone for me except in that one area.

  • When will be the PIE coming out? Hopefully it will fix some issues like battery consumption, screen burn and etc.. .

  • I wanted to trade-in my old Xperia XZ for a brand-new Galaxy S9 via the website but I have read so many negative issues about this phone in particular: 1. "Black smear" and blue ink/tinge on the screen (especially when brightness is on low) 2. Video recording audio is poor (clarity & bitrate) 3. Photo underexposure/overexposure in Auto Mode on times where it should not be. 4. Dead pixels on screen Plus the usual battery life/performance slowdowns/memory management combo. Are these issues still present? or have they been fixed with the latest update?

  • Hello Everyone, My S9 EXTRA VOLUME BUTTON on dialing screen is missing. Any setting for replace it? Thank You in Advance.

  • The battery of the S9 Exynos is horrible

  • It is not just the actual RAM only 3.3GB but also the free RAM less than 1GB

  • I love the S series phones from Samsung but I think the pixel 3 and the 3XL are doing things smartly when it comes to meeting the users demand. Majority of people today buy phones because of the camera but at the same time not everyone has big hands. So, If you are making a phone of a smaller size, in this case the S9 compared to the S9+, please keep the camera same. The S9 do not have dual camera which is sad for many people. I know that, everything on both big and the small phone can not be 100% similar. However, the S9 already has lower battery capacity. Thus make the screen resolution lower to compensate for the smaller battery so that it can last just as long as the S9+. Pixel 3 and 3XL are good example of both of this not to mention the price difference is also greater! I am not trying to say that pixel is better that samsung but it was a just my opinion I shared to see something right in the future from the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S series smartphones. Thank you.

  • Really? My battery hasn't dropped below 80% and I've been playing games and stuff with it.

  • except that terrible batterylife. everything else is ok

  • Thanks... but how can i change it?

  • That's coz of insufficient light. Either light up the subject area or try 240fps in low light indoors and 960 wen adequate light/outside.

  • Hi guys... im having problem with the super slow-mo, im having flicker lights when playing after recording video.. any tweaks or advice for this would be a big help... tnks

  • Does it support Dual VoLTE?

  • Your S9 has Snapdragon or Exynos? and how long does the battery last in screen usage?

  • It ticks all the right boxes i want for a phone : small size, light weight, no notch, loud stereo speakers, fast wireless charging, powerful processor, great low light pictures and videos, headphone jack and memory card. And with promotion 500 euros now. Best phone i ever had. My advice: never buy a phone just launched, always wait at least six months.

  • Hey folks can anyone help me for the reason as below: 1. Some times contacts are not displaying or take more than one minute to displaying. In both cases normal and in call. 2. Recent update of Samsung Music player ruin the simplicity and clean interface of the app. The album thumbnails are look very big and ugly like seen on a vga screen in my S9. My eye sight is normal and i don't like to use any app meant for pepole witl low vision. Is there any way to bring back 3 in a row style of thumbnails? Thanks

  • Battery drain quickly, make sure you update all the apps through the google app store and all the Samsung the software updates in the settings (swipe down and touch the gear icon, which is the shortcut icon to the settings). Just had one today that included the September security patch for android. Second make sure no apps are running in the background (drains battery and may eat data since content/information always refreshes every certain amount of time). Also i would suggest turn off the data, if you are using wifi in the home or friends or like a restaurant that offers free wifi for its customer. Also make sure your are using the original charger for this phone that is included in the box, no third party or counterfeit ones that you get cheaply (I think the phone will tell you charger is not genuine or charge slowly (not really, since it may not even charge at all)). If all of this doesn't work, try this before going to bed, let the phone drain completely (turns the phone off on its own), then after about a 1 minute plug it in using the original charger or if you own the wireless charger pad from Samsung, again no weird third party crap, use that to completely charge to 100% while you sleep. Then try to use the phone normally. If that still doesn't work, then i would suggest contacting Samsung or find a different phone according to your liking.

  • Just bought myself a S9 for 489 euros with the promotion here in France. Great price for a flagship launched at 849 euros. Love its compact size and super fast chipset, why buy chinese phone...

  • phone is very good flagship but the screen tends to scratch easily even though it is gorilla glass 5 version, not recommended to use without screen protector and the battery does not stay long not even full day with average uses. samsung must provide the update immediately.

  • I have exynos version and now after I turned off fast charge things changed a lot. Before I usually hovered 6.30hrs OST until 5%, now 6.30hr and 15% left. But I keep power save option, just for CPU. I have AOD and background data enabled, also full resolution 2860*1440.

  • Not great, especially if it's the Exynos version. Get the note 9 if battery is your concern.

  • I have tried Huawei and Sony but these phone was the best phone i have ever had Thanks to Samsung from my Heart

  • Can I put a nano sim and a micro sim at the same time?

  • It's definitely great for heavy use, it is after all a high end flagship device and it's quite fast with basically no lag

  • the battery of s9 is better for heavy use??? I play game for long time...so is it suitable for me????plzzz suggest me.

  • From what I've read, the S9 Snapdragon is much better than S9 Exynos, the battery lasts longer in S9 Snapdragon. Thinking about buy the S9 Snapdragon.

  • And i have the feeling that using fast charging will reduce the battery life, because of the battery getting really hot.

  • There was a lot of talk at xnda forums, i mentioned this in another tech forum, then one s9 user said just that and mentioned he saw this observation too - xnda forums. At the one saying no diff, yes I did almost discharged to 0% then let it fill up to 100%. After 2nd cycle I already started to see lower drainage. Now after 4th its somewhere in the middle.. but still better then normal quick charge. It kind of fluctuates, but a lot less.

  • I’ve tried it but have not noticed any difference so far. Did you have to let the phone drain itself first and then charge to 100%? I’m wary of doing it since it’s not very healthy for Li-ion in general.

  • You seem right...with fast charging off, the battery obviously charges slower, but lasts longer...It needs to be confirmed though.

  • Google: “anandtech S9 exynos battery life”. Basically it’s a botched power scheduler for the CPU cores of that particular chipset in 8.0

  • Which one is better this or the S8 Plus? The price of the S8+ has gone down since the release of the S9 series. Thanks in advance.

  • yeah its really utilizing the battery longer, my final in the end was 8.15hrs @ 2% left.. Really impressed. Will keep fast charge off until further notice :)

  • Interesting, I tried charging the phone without fast charge option and so far I'm getting really good OST, atm 6.30hr and 18% battery left. This is 2nd time charging it By normal fast it was usually 5-5.30hrs max by such % It's like it discharges slower.

  • Hello ! I don't understand why on galaxy s9 only oreo 8.0 then note 9 have oreo 8.1 same cpu only 1000mah on battery difference note has bigger screen and battery time is excellent compare to s9...????

  • S9 because 1- More recent hardware, the best available except the battery which is average 2- Android P and Q updates coming eventually (Note 8 only P) 3- Timely updates (region-dependent, can be circumvented) 4- No benchmark cheating 5- Broad support network (service centers and partners for in-warranty repairs) 6- Not a notched awfulness 7- Variable aperture camera, unheard of elsewhere. 8- Samsung Pay which uses MST to work at 99% of retail location

  • Hello guys, i want to ask you should i buy p20, note8 ot s9? Give me pros/cons of every phone, and your personal experience.

  • Anyone tried flashing Android Pie (through Project Treble) on S9 yet? Does it improve the battery life?

  • I did have it early on. Did a factory reset and re-inserted the SIM card. The issue is gone now. Hope it never comes back *knock on wood

  • Haven't noticed that yet and I already got 3 updates since I first got it, atm at 1.September update.. it's a exynos version.

  • I read that S9 and S9+ suffer from call dropping and muting...is it fixed ?

  • Hey there, I changed to a Huawei P9 Lite after having the Samsung Galaxy S, S3 and S5. Liked it at first but it's def more temperamental than Samsungs. Going back to Samsung.

  • I liked a lot my S8, i like this one even more...Tried P20 but hated the UI, and got S9. Perfect size for me

  • Both of next flagships should have dual camera. Not everyone wants to buy a big phone just because it has dual camera. Best to bring back A3 with up to date internals.

  • Yes. Check the LTE bands to make sure they match your carrier's bands

  • Compact, stylish and powerful...the best.

  • I've been using this phone for about 4 months and this phone is incredible. This phone's processor is very powerful and this phone is very responsive. This phone can run almost every game smoothly. This phone's camera also great, especially in the low light (Thanks to the wide 1.5 f aperture lens). The display of this phone is very clear, sharp and vibrant colors. The battery wont last a day but I wont say terrible. At least Samsung includes fast charging in the box not like Apple. It wont charge the phone as quick as oneplus's dash charge but it is pretty quick. Overall, i will recommend this phone.(9 out of 10)

  • It depends on powerful CPU. Huawei and Oppo may have more rams but S9's ram managements are great and it has one of the most powerful CPU. It wont reload all the times.

  • Depends where you live. In Asia, Oppo and Vivo are everywhere, no problem to fix your phone...and at only 300 dollars you can enjoy buying a new top specs phone every year instead of being stuck with your 800 dollars phone with low resale value.

  • "This phone is nearly three times more expensive than Vivo V11i, with great cameras and 128 GB...No wonder the chinese phones are selling so well." Where is the support when you have a problem?

  • Using s9(exynos version) since 1 month. Amazing looking phone with great display. Battery backup is okay, Performance is amazing as it has the latest SOC but you'll able to feel little lags, frame drops here and there. Front camera is amazing, Rear camera is fine. Rear camera tends to over sharpen the image every time. In normal light conditions it works fine but in artificial lightening and low lightening image gets over sharpened. Low light performance is just okay with noise visible in background. Stereo speaker is amazing, very loud and rich with dolby atmos. Basically they are overcharging you for all the features they are giving like edge lighting, Samsung pay, Samsung health etc. And you get all the Samsung bloatware which is a mess(you can disable them). Bixby is worthless, It doesn't even recognise simple commands. I have turned off the Bixby button and Bixby home screen, but still it gets switched on automatically(the Bixby home screen).

  • I like its compact size 5.8", when new phones now are 6.4" or more..hope S10 won't be bigger

  • iPhone 8 logic board and unoptimized S9 comparison? Seriously? I paid close to $800 expecting an upgrade but had issues for 3-4 months with the overheating and battery. It's not easy to live with the two. Downgraded to LG G7 + now but glad that S9 is fixed finally. P.S. I use DUAL SIM functionality so Apple is always out for me.

  • This phone is nearly three times more expensive than Vivo V11i, with great cameras and 128 GB...No wonder the chinese phones are selling so well.

  • I Am Giving 5 Stars. Because My Phone Was Awesome. I Had It For 10 Days. And I Never Had An Issue. Thank You Samsung.

  • Depends on your usage. As for me, if I get to chose between these two, I would go for the P20 Pro. It has 6GB of RAM, a triple camera setup at the rear and a 4000 mAh battery which will surely lasts better in one day of usage. S9 has a better CPU, GPU and display though but you won't really notice a difference in real world usage so overall the P20 Pro is the better device. You will get use to using a large phone too.

  • Me not really i prefer more compact design. Gaming is ok too, anything I throw at it.

  • sony xz1 vs samsung s9 which is best of best in every thing?

  • Will this phone after unlocked work with any carrier?

  • Samsung S9 or Huawei P20? P20 pro is bit too large for my taste. S9 has better design but only one camera and P20 has two cameras and after having Samsung S7 maybe to give a chance to Huawei?

  • I meant regrets*

  • do you guys having any regards buying S9 or feeling that S9+ is better than S9?Also I want to know Gaming experience on S9.

  • 4 GB Ram and 64 GB ROM for the Samsung flagship, when Oppo or Huawei midrange phones have 6GB/128GB. Shame...

  • Is Samsung S9 main camera even comperable to Huawei P20 / P20 Pro since it has one camera? Looks like one camera is ar per current trend obsolete and buying a flagship with one main camera.

  • Last friday, i received my first new phone.... a Galaxy S9 , 256 go memory. I bought it directly from Samsung Canada. I am very happy and i strongly recommend this phone. Friendly user.

  • I am not sure which phone to buy. XZ2 Compact due to size so it can be easily used in one hand but camera is not near P20 Pro, Samsung S9 since I have Samsung S7 and quite like it or Huawei P20 Pro but it is bit too large phone.

  • Idk, Im from Europe. Could be just Oceanic/Asian pub servers having issues.. Btw s9 has a option to save wifi transfer burst data.. energy save function. Maybe disable that, although I have that option enabled and omits still fine.

  • Using Jio 4G... Am a Jio User from past 1year never faced data Lagg on any device even on My Redmi note 5 pro... Am facing only on s9... Am resetting the network settings... Let's see what happens... Thank you Abhishek Kolkata India

  • Same problem here .I am also facing this and getting too much heat

  • Could be just wifi or mobile data lag. I dont get any on my exynos chip. I used max gfx settings, heck even on my old galaxy alpha there was none, apart from obviously lower GB settings.

  • Something is wrong then.. app gone rogue. Try to clear phone cache. Power off, press volume up+Bixby + power on, now hold few sec until it shows bootloader, with volume down go to clear cache confirm with power on, reboot and it should be better. That said I get 2-3% drain overnight, (7-9hrs). Normal ost varies but always over 5.30hr+, usually between 6-7hrs.

  • Absolutely true... Battery backup is terrible

  • Am using S9 Exynos Variant from past couple of days... & everything is OK.. The Only problem I faced when I try to play PUBG game on this device... Am facing lagg.. I tried in HD, even in lower resolution, in high resolution, in lower frame rate, even in lowest.. But am facing lagg.. Even I used game launcher... But every single time things are same.... That lagg.... I don't know pubg is optimised for Snapdragon phones only? Cz was using One plus 6 (6+64gb) & pubg was buttery smooth... I don't know but I think 4gb ram is enough to run the game? Or exynos is not optimised for the game? Or Samsung Experience is the problem? (I tried nova launcher but result was same) Anyone faced this problem? Any solution? Thank you Abhishek Kolkata India

  • No it doesn't have Siri (which is on iPhone),But it has Google Assistant (Which is better)and has Bixby which has to be better. Also it has map which is also better...

  • Battery is really too small...but with fast charging it is ok full battery in 1 less than 1 hour

  • Samsung is korean inc., as for ip7...terrible camera be at night/day, no memory card, single speaker, bland n outdated dead tiny lcd screen, no wireless/ fast charging, pathetic locked down prison quality software/iOS...better to skip on that 1900mah battery.. and price is still 800$ now!!??! Love it. Why some people would spend a fortune to buy apple craps for downgrading in terms of outdated tech is beyond my understanding. Btw..what made u agree? :p

  • Its a 2018 flagship that's been fixed in 2018 itself in terms of battery...look at ip8..they waited a year to replace logic board that too chargeable through screen replacement trickery..rush much?

  • It has both its own products..much more refined n better integrated

  • Please continue posting the SAR-Values of the Phones, i am missing this info here! Thank you very much!

  • So u mean to say battery life isnt good

  • I'm using it about 2 months. So far the battery life still terrible. Idle: 3-4% per hr Screen On: 14-24% per hr Average SOT in 12 hrs of use: 3+ hrs (Max 4 hrs) It is a good phone with lots of features with great camera and beautiful screen. But you have to carry a power bank along with you all the time.

  • original microSD cards are not always cheap !! ( specially the ones with better read and write speeds )

  • There are MUCH faster microSD cards these days than the 10MB/s write speed you mention. By the way, 4k60fps videos can be manually moved to the MicroSd card and they read great. Half-assed solution but it works.

  • Does the Galaxy S9 have a voice like Siri on the iPhone? And does it have maps also like the iPhone?

  • lets be honest here.. microSD cars are damm slow. its write speed is around 10MB/sec . whereas the write speed of UFS Storage 2.1 is around 150MB/sec. (read speed is around 812MB/sec ) 4k footage generates a huge number of data in every sec. which is to much for a micro SDcard to handle

  • I have optioned my videos and photos to be saved on the SD card. They all go there EXCEPT 4k 60fps videos! When recording 4k 60fps vidoes, I see a message station they will be saved to internal storage and they are. Can 4k 60fps videos be saved to the SD card or is it not possible? Thanks.

  • Good to know but too late to fix. Why rush a product that costs a premium?

  • Should I upgrade my phone to s9 from A8 2018 since it is getting cheaper right now in my country?

  • I use an iPhone 7 and I 100% agree with you

  • Upgraded from an S7 Edge and I do agree that the battery is anbitnon the MEH side but power wise, this is a very good device. Recommended but think of the S8 as the S9 is not much different, and S8 is cheaper. The only issue I have is after about 12 hours, I have very VERY but visible screen burn, only visible on certain orange backgrounds but is there....... Such a shame.

  • Very poor battery backup ..its a expensive phone but battery backup is very poor...

  • Just installed it and runs fine maxed incl ssao and bloom at native 2980 ×1440 resolution 60fps limit. I didn't see any stutters whatsoever.

  • Great phone...very compact, fantastic camera at night and day, memory card, great speakers, super screen, wireless charging, quality software...but battery could be better. No regret, and price affordable now...Love it. Why some people would spend more to buy some chinese crappy phone is beyond my understanding.

  • No screen burn in for 5/6 years. Amoled has greatly improved over the years. Thats just the Trolls bashing Samsung.

  • What's your guys gaming experience with the S9.I play games much especially Modern combat 5,So does S9 handles heavy games or it will have glitches?.

  • I want to buy the Galaxy S9, but I would like to know how long the battery lasts in screen use?

  • No it's a myth or fake models. I never saw it, Same on my old galaxy alpha, I had that for almost 4years.

  • Do you get screen burn in on this phone?

  • I now have it over a good month and camera is top. Excelent night shots. Display is great too, just dont use auto brightness or use in and slide to your preference, so ai remembers your algorithm and doesn't use such higher values anymore.. battery mild usage, mostly browsing it can do 7hrs OST np, once you use it more its 5.30-6hrs. It gets better with battery saving option, guess samsung still needs some tweaks by normal scenario - mostly CPU optimizations. Maybe android PIE fixes those, I see they "optimized" battery further with 9.0 Speakers are great, headphone jack and it's own music also, I would recommend manual eq curve.. those knobs are not ideal. It's loud too, I never go over 77%, usually in 60-65% area. Even with tweaked eq when it lowers volume a bit. I could play all games np with this exynos GPU, even at native np. I usually play more demanding at 2220×1080 though, that 2960×1440 is a bit overkill xD, not perf. Ok that too a bit, but mostly battery. Just keep it in a good case spigen makes so great covers.. atm using more soft variant (liquid crystal), most have hard back. Minimal look, really cool is Thinfit, for more robust protection I got ultrahybrid Screen, well.. I chose liquid shield stuff.. just enough to have at least some protection. Foil Is bad, glass didn't try but these more protective covers could remove glass.. I'm careful enough, although I did drop it 1x, my headphones cord got stuck in the door handle and it pulled the phone from my pocket.. fell 1.3m side then face down on floor tiles in the bathroom.. I didn't have any tough protection just thinfit case.. luckily nothing happened.

  • for that kind of money, the phone must had Qualcomm 845 and to was - IP68 dust/water proof certified.the normal price for this phone, will be 250 with 300 hundred euros. with this price will be failed.

  • I mean.. "Future perspective" is really subjective. I don't buy high end (don't have steady income yet) devices and I'm on like my 3rd smartphone (ever). And I bought 3rd one pretty recently. And I had to change it not because old one slowed down, but I needed better camera. I would definitely still be on my 2nd smartphone. And I'm pretty heavy on usage of those. So I don't understand why people change phones every 2 years when they buy expensive ones. On iOS/Android - you really have to find your preference. iOS might be optimized a little better, but I restart my android devices every 2-3 days (really not so difficult and not time consuming to do) and it's like new. iPhones might be good for 4-5 days without restart to get the best experience. Camera.. Huawei P20 pro apparently now is the killer, next Pixel could be even better. And for average usage (one-two spreadsheets at the time) could be handled by any mid-end nowadays. Of course, snapdragon 845 will make device's life longer, but I don't see too much difference between that and 835. The difference will come out in a very long run and battery will die before that difference will come out.

  • I don't gaming with phone, but little bit work with spreadsheets. To me important that would be good camera, no lags when work with browser, graphic (like navigation osmand+, google my maps).

  • So i ask advices or really worth to buy expensive phone. I little bit was trying Iphone SE, Iphone 6, Huawei P20 pro. So i was fascinated that older iOS work like newest android. Also of course to me important future perspective, that shouldn't need change phone after two, or one a half years.

  • 4GB is plenty. Unless you play lots of games or literally work with spreadsheets on your phone. 6GB has a little advantage. Over that - is just marketing bullcrap.

  • Looks like you're indecisive between Android and iOS. So basically you don't know what you're looking for. If you don't know what OS you want, you probably aren't going to use the most of it, so is it worth buying an expensive phone?

  • Impossible to find out best choice buy phone..... All have own positive/negative criterion.. 1.Wait for Apple 11, and then buy X, it will be little bit cheaper, than now. 2.Samsung galaxy S9? S9+ too big for my and my life activities. 3. Huawei P20 Pro?

  • s9 is new and current. ip7 is now oldish although still good. But I would suggest that s9 would be superior in almost every way.

  • mate 10 pro hands down

  • Why s9 have much more less ram, than other basic factors? Or really enough it especially to future perspective?

  • lol, in my country Galaxy s9 is cheaper than OnePlus 6. - 500 euro for the galaxy, 510 euro for oneplus.

  • Galaxy S9 with August security patch update is working absolutely fine. No overheating and battery life has Been improved.

  • As a former S9 user, I would request to either get an S8 or get Snapdragon variant of S9. Exynos S9 is a disaster. Till last month, had to format and restore every month to get rid off overheating and battery drain. Why should the phone run at 50 degree Celsius under normal usage? Pixel 2 and My new G7 are at 30 degrees in similar environment. Wish Samsung had optimised the Exynos for S9.

  • Bro, use battery screen on lasts 8 hours? has a very good battery

  • I have an iPhone SE and I want a new phone. Which should I pick? Galaxy S9 or iPhone 7? I know their pros & cons but I cannot choose. Which would you buy, and why?

  • For me the s9 without hesitation. I have the s8 and it is perfect in every way. You need to weigh up the advantages of each phone and decide which ones are more important to you and then decide on balance. But for me it's s9 every time.

  • No need to prove.Everyone knows that it's wrong,My dad having S6 edge from 3-4 years and it still works very great. So should I say that My Dad's S6 edge is better than S7\S7 edge S8\S8+ and S9\S9+?Or maybe even better than Note 8\9??...S8 and S9 are amazing.

  • Really great phone. Great display and really fast. I would recommend it

  • I been using this phone for 3 months rigth now, so far so good. It did not crash at all. No slow down. But it has poor ram management, apps keep restart after i open more than 5/6 apps. Battery is not so good, im heavy user so i get around 8 hours battery from 100% - 0 %. But the great thing is, i can pay using this phone in almost any terminal. It has super nice screen. They give me AKG earbud headphone, it sound very nice, far more better than earpod . Camera is great, super sharp. The stereo speaker sound ok for me.

  • Get the mate 20 pro

  • I am thinking of buying the mate 10 pro or the galaxy s9. The s9 is around 50€ more expensive and it has a better display, the better processor and slighty better low light camera performance. On the other hand the mate 10 pro has 6gb of ram, a bigger battery and also a dual lens system. Which one do you think is the better option?

  • The point is how smartphone quality isn't better, also performance too. But price is doesn't care about it.

  • One plus 6 .... has NO wireless charging, NO IP water rating, NO micro sd slot, NO stereo speakers, Low screen resolution, heavier than Samsung S9, NOT HDR compliant, Only type2 USB, NO FM radio, No dedicated voice control button, slower LTE speeds.

  • paid 609€ (759 -150 special offer) in Darty shop + 100€ samsung repayment = 509€ last week

  • 490 euro is ok. compare to one plus 6 is better than S9 and price is 500 euro. fastest phone ever.

  • Nobody buys the phone for the release price. If you look at a price comparison, you can find it for 500€ online.

  • Perfect phone.Realy the best. And super beautiful look.

  • No way 500 euros...in France S9 is 759 euros (S9+ is 859 euros and S8 still 700 euros) With that kind of prices i prefer to wait for S10 to change my very good S8

  • Now it's 500 euros in Europe. Best smartphone ever

  • Just got the phone like 2 weeks ago and i adore it!!!

  • Yep still the best... Still impresses me even after 4 months of use...dropped it many times screen,no cracks...performance is awesome. Keep it up Samsung

  • Did samsung galaxy really drop their prices

  • same old, same old... where's the innovation Samsung?? looks like i won't be upgrading, AGAIN!!

  • BEST PHONE EVER! I haven't been able to buy it. But I think is the best phone they have created, beautiful screen and camera, High speed internet with Tigo, and I will buy it if I had the money, but I need to do OT to be able to afford one. If you would like to donate some money, let me know.

  • No FM radio Then I have bought the LG V30 and it's fantastic.

  • S7 edge better than s8 and s9.....using for over two years..from marshmallow to nougat and now to Oreo..No complain. I only changed phone screen once....prove me wrong

  • Why not use a case like spingen? Not to worry about scratches then. Also why all this panic about 1gb left?? Seriously, it uses more because it caches stuff in background. What if it had 2gb more would you somehow run more games in background or why, I really dont get this paranoia? Please enlighten me, I dont mind if it has 1gb left, I can play and switch on the fly with two very demanding games np, asphalt9 and xrally both from gameloft, Battery ok yeah it would be a bit better if it were 3500mah but still it's not that bad, not if you max out brightness. Very bright screen is not good to your eyes anyway. Just fyi.

  • Nothing different .. keep your s8

  • I have had this phone two months ago, and the phone has a fingerprint and its frame is very easy to scratch and does not have a protective layer unlike the camera glass and the rest of the parts. Also, the edges of the curved screen are very bad because the protective adhesive on the screen is not installed properly. Dust on the screen and have to change it due to the curvature of the sides of the screen and often it happens to put a protective adhesive and a pod for the phone at the same time. The battery is bad and will not last a full day with a slightly above average use. The performance of the phone has become bad with me and the ram is available in the phone 1 GB or a little more, although there are no programs in the background and despite the use of only two months, but I say that the performance of the phone is very bad, but very good response very light comment Sometimes I am annoyed at the low level of RAM always on the phone screen. I am disappointed in this phone. It should have got more RAM, a larger battery and a screen with no edges with a good protection layer in all its parts without exception. The best phones you can get ...

  • deviBe carefull, the s9 and S9+ don't accept the Bluetooth RSAP profiles anymore for cars, which means you cannot connect your car anymore to the Internet if it required RSAP, users are currently rooting their devices to make RSAP work again, so its just a software switch... My company already decided not to provide S9 devices because they are not compatible with the volkswagen business cars...rsap missing (called premium phone in volgswagen cars like audi , volswagen , skoda , etc) However samsung said that if enough people complain about it, that they might reconsider activating the feature RSAP advantages are Much better signal reception, offload of cellphone battery/cpu power , Audio quality is directly connected to speakers (max quality) and internet sharing through the car

  • yes

  • Is camera better than OnePlus 6?

  • Please can you tell me where is the samsung galaxy s9 rose gold color variant? That was the best color I've ever seen in smartphones hehe, I love it than usual colors of smartphones because it looks like elegant color, it shows that it was very different to other smartphones and a top flagship. We all know that the compititions is on galaxy S series and iphone X and yet there is huawei p20 pro camera that can unmatch the tech of camera processing. Google smartphone also improves by its own and can compete.

  • Yah I think so they maybe just jealous to siri so that samsung invest to bixby but among the best is google assistant, you can see it by yourself. Samsung must stay to google assistant because they are very smart and very huge search engine so that they have the highest and the most accurate answers than bixby and siri. Hehe 😄

  • Because its it's like siri by apple. I looked at it more and I'm ok with it. It's not a resource hog, can be very handy and quickly navigate through few commands, but you need to checked them first by training to know what's all about. But I did press the key by accident few times when I was pulling my phone from side pocket. Luckily I dont have enabled to show Bixby content on locked screen, so it doesn't do anything.

  • S9 or P20, all aspects from price to specs

  • When you comapare sounds quality not a louder speaker between galaxy s6 edge and galaxy s9? The winner is S6 edge because it was more crystal clear and more deep sound than a surround sound of galaxy s9. Try to listen on both phones. Flagship must be Premium on every aspect though.

  • Is Gsmarena give feedbacks direct to samsung from our opinions as user? I love the Samsung compact size as it holds in your hands, the 5.8 inches screen size. Hope samsung will change it contract from bixby to google assistant 🙂🙂🙂

  • Why samsung invest on bixby? While google assistant is very huge and super smart? Why samsung cant invest on google? Maybe google give a high pricing that will samsung galaxy s series will cost a lot? Google assistant is unmatch than any other voice assistant.

  • on the next flagship of samsung galaxy s series will be only 2 flagship, the note will be merge to s series so maybe one of the bigger phone of s series will have a note pen and the other compact size will have a nice camera set up maybe 2 cameras or 3 cameras on the rear.

  • Does the G9600 truly have the LTE band 17 that is primarily used by AT&T? I see it in the specs on this site, but all the others, say that band is not included.

  • Samsung s9 vs Sony xz1 which is best in camera battery less heat ...

  • Sim slot has to be metal not the plastic, Iphone and others are using aluminimum which is stronger. Its too bad and samsung has to improve as it can break anytime.

  • Yep, have S8 at the moment...Great phone. No need to upgrade to the basically same phone...S10 will probably be my choice if it stays compact.

  • I still using S8 now, but what the best reason for me upgrade to this phones (S9)? I see no much different except chipsets and GPU series, and may cameras for several poeple who like shoot but not like me. Thank you.

  • Well, I dont use auto brightness or in general very high brightness, that helps a bit.. also dont use as much 4g, ok only here and there.. Now with actual working sim card it still managed 7hrs, until 5%, if you plan to play a lot of demanding games then I'm sure it will drop to 5hrs full drain. Just thinking out loud. I Played a bit but not a lot. Mostly Instagram, fb, manger, web browsing, a little YouTube videos, music player and few quick camera tests, .. and Now 3rd day owning it, I can clearly say it delivers. I had galaxy alpha before and that did 4-5hrs at best, even with light usage, heavy would quickly go to 3-4hrs.. compared to here 5-6hrs. Or medium/ light easy 7-8hrs ost.

  • Thanks for the response. 4hrs SOT at 50% is good to hear, I'm coming from an S7 which I could only get 3hrs SOT at maximum. I've noticed a fair few reviews saying that 4hrs SOT is all they could get on average though, leaving me a bit unsure still !

  • Atm 4hrs OST and 50% battery left. I don't have brightness to the max, 20-40% usually. I mentioned bellow that xrally, etc info and full battery drain ended at ~7hrs (15% left was good 5:50hrs), would have been 30-60min more if I haven't played a causal game there towards last 5-10%. Imo it's a solid battery, those complaining clearly expected more or don't know how to use a phone properly.

  • Put a decent fold-over cover on your phone to protect it. That should be common sense instead of blaming Samsung because you scratched exposed surfaces.

  • I can currently buy either the Oneplus 6 or the Galaxy S9 for the same price ~€570, Which should I buy ? The most important things to me in a phone are battery life and decent software, both of which are subpar with the S9. What would be the average screen-on time you can get with the S9 ? How does it compare to the Oneplus 6 ? Any help would be much appreciated, Thank you !

  • Ok so I played asphalt xrally at max gfx and few more casual games, browsed a bit, watched few yt videos, FB a bit, listened to a lot of music (on speakers, bluetooth and headphones), tested camera more and so far I got 5hrs OST and 25% battery left. Overnight it used 2-3% battery, I enabled normal power saving just in case. AOD is set manually from 10am-23pm, turns off at night. Although I enabled AOD off by battery save. So far it's a very solid performer, it's a duo exynos version, 64GB.

  • Those were trolls obviously, I asked around a lot and it's not so simple like that. And I also linked that page here.. Anyways, I got the phone now and it's great, battery lasts too. I didn't buy a 600€ phone to play only games lol

  • It's a great phone but... It's insanely fragile. It's trivial to start up a big crack when bumping the exposed edges of the front glass. The back glass scratches deeply with normal use. There are 6 pages of complaints on Samsung's forums that the rear camera's glass cover bursts outward when the phone is placed in a case. Repairs are unusually expensive and Samsung refuses to pay for any of it. It has a bug where it doesn't terminate existing LTE app connections when WiFi is activated. Apps configured to perform large downloads over WiFi will use cellular if they were running before WiFi was on. This can eat up hundreds of megabytes, even gigabytes, at a time. Samsung's support forums are completely useless. The moderators have some scripts to follow and nothing more.

  • I think you should be fine. you will see a lot of new features if your coming from an iPhone 6. I also have an iOS device and also have this s9 and I can say you will adapt fast. only thing i dont like about this device is the edge screen. sometimes when im playing, the screen becomes unresponsive because my palm is touching it. but other than that the device is Ok. i still use my iPhone X as my daily driver and I use this as my gaming/series binging phone. hope this helps.

  • how I can turn off camera volume when im take a photo ?

  • Dear all, i would like get your opinion for changing my iPhone6 to samsung s9

  • both are same

  • No Im careful, have galaxy alpha and always carry in a protective case whenever I go out, very rare I leave it bare, I never damaged it in whole 3yrs, if it fell it fell only at home on my tiles lol, one time the case saved it the other time i got a small dent on that fancy aluminium frame, was in shock but polished it out :D I will be even more careful with this one, already bought 2 spingen cases, one a bit light the other though armour when I go outside.

  • Had all the "OMG this is the most fragile phone in the universe EVER!!!!" stories with the S8's when they were first released. BREAKING NEWS - The phones glass does NOT break all by itself. The S9 has a lot of glass and if it falls or is knocked against a hard surface then yes it does stand a chance breaking. So if you are one of those people that hates using a case on their phone and tends to drop it every now and again ......BEWARE With that all said, I can't think of many flagships that could withstand many drops without a good case onto hard surfaces without danger of breaking it. Could you?

  • Ok nvm, those were just clumsy users and tried to blame and get away with it. Phone is ok, got a confirmation from a user owning it for a while it doesn't break like that easily.

  • Hello Everyone, I need opinion from true users. Presently I am using S8. How is S9 battery performance compare to S8? Thanks

  • Dear All, I need opinion from real users. Presently I am using S8. I am thinking of upgrade. How is battery life of S9 compare to S8?

  • I'm in process of buying a new S9 Does camera glass really shatter/break quick or out of nowhere? I was looking at Samsung US q&a the other day, for problems and stuff and saw this shocking thread :/ Is this a common thing or where those just clumsy and or a bad batch of phones?? Thanks

  • S9 & S9+ 256gb Canada on the Samsung.ca

  • The phone is not waterproof. It is water resistant. The IP68 rating will allow the phone to be submerged up to 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes. Water damage is not covered in the warranty.

  • I want to ask is that phone waterproof and how long time can stay in water?

  • p20 pro use hardware from 2017 , same cpu , gpu as mate 10 ...so s9 is way more powerful

  • Is really samsung s9 battery bad or just talking?

  • amoled is a big fail from samsung .. it should never exist on smartphones !

  • Can someone who plays games like pubg tell me about this phones battery life as i want to buy this phone because of its size but battery life is a concern

  • Well I finally bite the bullet and ordered it, was waiting for meizu 16, but it's a bit of a bust as final. Going from galaxy alpha to this s9 now.

  • sorry wrong msg,,,,,,,

  • Hi guys I got a one problem if i take a sefie one shot and next 10 sec I can't take selfie because selfie shot not working for 10 sec pls help me guys pls

  • Sorry don't believe you. Your phone should still be under warranty. If you don't pursue your warranty then you know very well that you have bought a copy.

  • i use my phone as may daily drive and also i used for deep gaming.

  • Amazing phone..and for someone who just switched from iphone, i think that battery life on samsung 9 is excellent ..im not a much of a game playing freak on android phones cos its stupid to me so my battery is just fine.

  • i want to buy s9..because its 5.8"..plz tell me about multitusking & camera quality & also battery life..

  • Great Phone

  • i had this phone. and again samsung panel always burns. i am the type of user that loved to use the phone for games and video steaming for a long period of time. and now i am experiencing a burn-in and a grayish tint on my screen. i tried to used all of possible apps that hoping it could but nah it wont, nothing has change. burn super amoled display.

  • great phone

  • oh thats why you using this website as your social media

  • im in love with the samsung brand.....the picture quality in the s9 is awesome the speed is fantastic well done samsung the look is gorgeous has well wouldnt let go of this s9

  • Then you either had a fake s8 or a faulty phone. Did you ever return it for warranty or service? I've had my s8 for almost 12 months and it is perfect. Easily the best phone I've ever had.

  • Then you're doing something wrong. Check xnda forums, Ive seen a lot users getting over 6hr+ OST easily

  • good

  • Tq sir

  • How is the screen burn in on the Samsung Galaxy S9? On the S8 it was terrible and since this is also an amoled screen I guess it must be the same...

  • Battery life is just ok. I used to turn off the bixby & other bloatwares and set the screen resolution to fhd+. Wifi scanning and improve accuracy features were also disabled. Getting full day use with 3g on. Camera is best. Particularly low light shots are soo good. If you are gaming and in frequent bright sun light then you may need a charger soon .

  • Hi guys how is the battery life and camera for s9? Pls help me guys I'm really confused to choose s9

  • Hi guys how is the battery life and camera? Pls help me

  • I have the S9 and I dont recommend it to anybody the battery is horrible the phone full with great features but you cant enjoy these features when ur phone runs out of charge in the middle of the day. gonna sell it and buy Huawei

  • The battery life is terrible, it will not last even 6 hours, with gaming, even worse, barely 2 hours.

  • I am planning to buy the S9 series. I like the dual camera and bigger RAM and also bigger battery on S9+ but i don't like its size, for me it's too big. So should i go for the S9? Is there big differences between them?

  • I would like to buy S9 dual sim, but I'm afraid of bad battery life... What is usual SOT on S9 duos?

  • Thanks

  • If its 64 gigs then what ~60gb or so Yes you can disable bixby, you can also reconfigure the key with a app to lets say flashlight, but bixby serivce needs to run. No lag etc.. Battery drain is not a issie, I've seen 7-9hrs Ost, developer forums , xda forums Seen all that info there.. I was also concerned about battery and it's ok by normal usage. The only bigger drain is by slomo camera or yeah by gaming.

  • Anyone please???

  • can you download FM radio if it's international model? And still works even without wifi or data, Thanks in advance

  • why does S9 and S9+ have worse battery life than S8 and S8+ considering they have better CPU to manage power?

  • How to disable Bixby Voice:- 1) Open Bixby Home by swiping to the left-most home screen on your Galaxy S9. 2) Tap the three-dot menu button at the top of the screen. 3) Tap settings. 4) Scroll down until you see the option called Bixby Voice. 5) Tap the toggle to turn off Bixby Voice.

  • Is it possible to disable bixby and use google assistant?

  • Please read the huawei P20 pro review done by GSMArena and P20 pro vs S9+ camera comparison and decide for yourself

  • I didn't say EMUI is a bullshit skin. But it's a heavy skin inspired by ios. If you compare an iPhone settings with yours, you'll find a patern. Lock screen also kinda looks the same. Yes huawei has improved a lot with time. But i don't think it's smooth as a pure android (a pixel) device.

  • Looking at getting this phone through freedom mobile. Does anyone know the storage used at initial purchase? I hear the battery is poor, I’m not a gamer but a surfer. Is it really that bad? Can you disable Bixby? Thanks

  • So stop bullshit other brand if you dont use

  • so what. we dont care

  • S9 is amazing, is a top tier phone, zero complaints. P20 Pro is all hype and advertising. Huawei has buggy software that crashes a lot. Samsung software is rock solid, build quality is top notch.

  • I think that P20 pro better with camera and android version 8.1 higher os version because s9 8.0 :(

  • I have Huawei EMUI is not copy Apple, EMUI is Huawei UI very good and simple i like it, peolple whos hate this UI can use other Brand phone, but really not all people hate that.. because EMUI simple and very good UI i use that and im happy, never lag or bug now EMUI version is like android if android 8.0 Emui 8.0.0version i think that better than samsung whos always lag... and Huawei P20 use AI on camera you can make photo better and easy do that i recomended P20 pro good phone if very expensive for you you can buy P20 or P20 lite but p20 better camera than p20 lite so so... but i love Huawei

  • I don't have much experience with huawei phones. But as far as i know, people don't like huawei's EMUI skin at all. EMUI is a copy of ios (for the most part). Weather it's a plus point or not, i can't really tell bcos you're comming from ios. Now s9 is available around 600 USD (it's a real good deal for this price) and p20 pro is mich more expensive i think. If I had to choose between S9 and P20 pro, I would go with s9 bcos, ----S9 is more compact and beautiful ----Samsungs AMOLED displays are class leading ----for 600 USD it's the best bang for buck smartphone Since you're comming from ios, you might wanna try a pixel 2XL, it has a real nice camera (maybe the best camera available in a smartphone), pixel's android experience is the best you can get (smoot, snappy, regular security update and OS updates as soon as they release)

  • Of course, you can plug in a hub and use like 4 stuff altogether

  • is the s9 better than p20 pro? coming from iPhone to android but unsure what to buy

  • good

  • does it support OTG ? thanks in advance

  • Yes you are right ,I have always keept Samsung away from me for a long while cos was so crappy for my usage. But now I got the S9 and I have to say that is awesome. Don't care about the non super battery life, and don't care about 4gb ram. The phone in it self is fantastic over all the phones out there which I owned most of them. So quick, battery it's fine for my so heavy usage,it's finally small enough so I can try different nice cases on it without make it too bulky and you can find so many things for it.the speakers and sound from earphones have so much quality.ip68,super camera and the screen is defined over the top....yes I like it much. Consider that this is my roughly 120th android phone..

  • I had the Galaxy S8 and the I-Phone 8 Plus and this phone is excellent for the most part. The battery life is good given I keep the display set on QHD. Why keep it on HD or FHD if the screen resolution is QHD? I find that a charge does last me the day with adjustments to increase battery life. I am averaging about 30% usage daily. The display is very sharp and robust. I like the wider aspect ratio as well. The phone is very snappy and I have yet to experience any lag. The audio in the earpiece is good, the speakerphone quality is good, but could be louder. The UI is easy to navigate and has many options. The keyboard is excellent. I figured out how to resize it. Now if I can only figure out how to select & copy specific text in an SMS/MMS message. I am very impressed with the Dolby Atmos on my Multimedia. With the supplied AKG Earphones, sound is really good, surround is very effective. Phone works well after the 6/26/2018 Security updates. Fingerprint sensor works great unlike the S8. I recommend this phone.

  • Your money your choice. s9 is very good and you should notice a difference.

  • I would like to see a phone like the S9 with a 4.7 screen and a 3500mah battery or above and 6gb ram it would be a great hitter.

  • 1080p 240fps cant record

  • bored from the same kinda phone year after year..tatsy....should i take this step to move?

  • Yes it is but why are you moving from iphone?

  • Can't you tell by switching it on and seeing if it still works?

  • Give it a try..u will nvr go back to apple

  • is samsung s9 a good phone? i m goin to shift from iphone 7!!!!

  • Better go for S9+ with higher ram if you play intense games! By default you get only 1.2 GB free ram in s9

  • It is IP 68 rated water proof! Cool !

  • is this phone waterproof??? I have just dropped mine in the loo!

  • S9 camera is great but 4gb ram? Are u kidding me Samsung? This is 900 dollor phone. Why 4gb ram.... Dont be stingy Samsung

  • I like to see Samsung with smaller phone full screen version like S9 mini.

  • Here's ur objective review. 1) Battery life -customise battery saving mode for optimum results..also clear ram..'stop background activity' for apps n try killing running/open apps wen done with n putting phone to idle. 2) display- its the best..Google it. just in case checkout the 'decrese brightness' in power saving mode. It's down by 10% 3) Getting camera on and make image is slow dual(compared to my experience with HTC)- its got dual pixel PDAF n too snappy both open n click. Google it n get out of the 4) Know issue is Bixby and its button. You cant use it for anything else and this is annoying- if the world can bear with notch displays.. u can just disable n live with it. 5) Grabbing phone from flat surface is not so easy so needs time to get used to- Reading ur comment amidst these reviews is a bummer too..but we r getting used to it 6) Power button is bit too high so its rather uncomfortable to switch off screen- wen I don't wanna like the coffee..It's only a matter of either more or less sugar I could whine about 7) If I open dialer then there is big useless blank space what should be used for recent calls for example-Samsung is so stupid they merged dialer n call history in one..blank space for displaying dialling no..all you need to do is tap hide button to show call history. 8) To call i have to select number and then press again „call“- swipe to call/text..put phone to ear for auto dial wen ur contact is selected. 11) Can’t swipe to switch between recent calls, contacts etc. Buttons to select these are placed as far top to make it difficult to reach with thumb- get bigger hands or maybe include feasibility/convenience scope before buying any product Didnt feel to ans few of the queries for they r too stupid for a smartphone owner to ask. Evrytings there in settings. Browse through/Google em

  • No its not believe me,i have an s9 all is good

  • I have no problem to confirm that after some more days using S9 its massive dissapointment. Battery is nowhere near to what you can read from review. I litterally have to charge it 2 times per day and im just doing emails and few hours of calls. Worse news is that i have battery save mode on 24/7. Wondering if i get 5 hours out of it in normal mode and max resolution. Curved screen edges are not responsive and you really cant press on links or × to close ads for example. I feel i am not getting objective info from reviews. Likely because the more free stuff companies throw to rewiewers the better it will be...

  • hi, please suggest how can I shoot photos in kb. 1+ series giving good quality picture in less than 500 kb. but Samsung take minimum 2 mb in lower resolution . is there any setting will be there .. for shooting pictures in kb's

  • apple? dear friend apples price in iran is Terrible and appstor in iran isn`t available because we are in sanction! and the other brands in iran don`t have official sales representative except huawei and samsung!

  • Lol..a troll..that too from HTC! You do realise your comment is capable of lowering the IQ of all those who visit this page for reference. Think very hard before you open your mouth next time

  • Samsung knows what's up! Headphone jack, 1440p OLED Display, SD Card slot, FM Radio! Nice!

  • I think with all these features and price tag, i think this is the most decent and practical option.

  • So which phone in your opinion has a better display. Also regarding battery life there are settings for battery saving. All your other complaints are just nit-picking.

  • I still think this is the best looking phone on the market. Hard to beat.

  • I have a S9 from some time now and it does not overheat at all. Even on fast charge it is cool.

  • Most of your arguments are useless. 1) I have tried all display resolution settings and there is only little difference in battery usage (qhd+) 2) Screen looks best on paper, and so it is best in real life. 3) Galaxy S9 has one of the best camera. (At least Top3 flagship) 4) u can disable Bixby, if u don't like it. However I am using Bixby and it's nice. 5) U can call by simply swiping the contact name 6) Bugs which u mentioned in the Call app has been solved by the App update on Galaxy apps

  • Before you buy one consider these arguments where some are some minor and samsung app related. 1) Battery life is not so good as even endurance test shows. If you use max resolution then goes from hero to zero pretty fast. 2) If you believe you get nice bright display then i can argue with that. It might be good on paper but on real life its not so visible. 3) Getting camera on and make image is slow (compared to my experience with HTC) 4) Know issue is Bixby and its button. You cant use it for anything else and this is annoying. 5) Grabbing phone from flat surface is not so easy so needs time to get used to 6) Power button is bit too high so its rather uncomfortable to switch off screen. 7) If I open dialer then there is big useless blank space what should be used for recent calls for example. 8) To call i have to select number and then press again „call“ 9) Can’t edit number before calling 10) On caller app you can’t see phone number (if from contacts) only name 11) Can’t swipe to switch between recent calls, contacts etc. Buttons to select these are placed as far top to make it difficult to reach with thumb. 12) If getting missed call and trying to call back then getting error as it doesn’t put + for the country code and fails to call back 13) If entering codes need to press "OK" which is bit annoying 14) No Quickcharge 3.0 Compared to all phones from Iphones to S9 its pretty clear that HTC knows best how to do things. You get always best hardware and interface is just good. These guys have really gone into details where others just focus on quantity instead of quality.

  • does this phone overheat ?

  • Thanks for your kind comments, really appreciated. You keep up the good work too :)

  • razor and apple are both great in iran

  • There is call auto call recording function after the update...

  • Thanks and keep up your good advices. You are very generous with your advice and sharing your knowledge. I like to learn from others who know what they are talking about....and also laugh with them......

  • :) good attitude. Great words. Respect.

  • No problems at all. You made me smile to myself when I read your comment. I am not easily offended and I do love some light hearted humour. People are too serious they need to learn to lighten up. Keep up the good natured stuff.

  • Any comments on multitasking and battery life??

  • Sorpio, I'm just relieved that you took what I said in the light hearted way it was intended. Good on Ya ),You did :) It was one of those moments that just after I posted, I thought to myself, Oh, I hope Scorpio takes what I've said in the right way :)

  • I want to buy this phone please tell me about the gaming performance like in pubg, the temperature while gaming and the battery life (sot), please

  • It's an awesome phone. Just got the Samsung Galaxy S9 today in Lilac Purple. I'm up now still playing with it and definitely love it so far !!

  • You didn't mention iphones nor can I really comment on them as I don't muck around with her phone very much. I prefer my s8. Having said that she is also perfectly happy with her ip8.

  • .......but most of all we love each other lol. Thank you for correcting me lol.

  • thanks

  • thanks!

  • Guys I am getting either this phone or the plus model , i am just worried about the difference in battery life and ram, taking in mind that i prefer the s9 size and i don't care about that second lens much, is the difference worth it??

  • Hi. I want to know about tahe battery of this phone Some body say is not good Buy or no?

  • Iphone is actually much better

  • Best choice in Iran is samsung becaues the other brands are sanction and we can't buy them but it isn't all of story we shuld buy them more expensive than the main price.its shame

  • Compare the s9 and s9+ is the illogical work

  • I have seen many posts from people complaining of dropped calls and silence during calls with S9 and S9 plus...is it fixed ?

  • If you play lots of game I perfer a iphone which is got good speed and graphics

  • Lol.He must had done that. ":-D

  • Yes you can. You need the OTG adapter to connect the external HDD, it works because the S9 has USB host. It can work with an external DVD drive and for sure it will work with an HDD, but do not use a hub, you need to connect directly because hubs lower the working current of a device.

  • in love with this camera :)

  • You should of ended that with something like 'but most of all we love each other:D would of been a great ending to a perfect love story. .... Whilst promoting the ability of two people coming together from two sides of the divide (IPhone Samsung/Android) Mind you the S8 is ace :D

  • Great :-).btw you have been told me this...

  • can this phone be connected to an external HD 1TB?

  • can this phone be connected to an external HD 1TB?

  • Yes correct. she loves iphone I love Samsung.

  • Been using my GS9 for the past couple ofdays now, and its absolutely impressive.. btw I switched from Gs4 to Gs9.. it was a big leap indeed

  • hi people! which one of the two samsung phones is doing it better s9 and note8, i want to buy one but i need your advices. thank you

  • Planning to buy S9+ users using this phone, need your suggestions please, hearing lots of complains and bugs, im very much impressed with camera and design, i really wanted to buy this phone. Need suggestions TIA

  • No issues with the phone whatsoever. Battery improves after several charges.

  • And your wife has an iPhone.Right?

  • Hi guys I need u r openian im using I phone since from 8 years but now I’m bored of I phone app so I need help from u can I go for iPhone 7 to Samsung s9

  • I've seen many posts saying that the exynos variant has serious heat and battery drain issues. Can somebody tell me if it has been fixed with updates? It's the only thing holding me back from buying the phone.

  • Samsung Galaxy S9 (Dual-SIM) 64GB G960FD will this phone support B14 in the US?

  • What's up guys gaming experience with the S9?I play a lot of games and Social apps not much browsing much and videos. What do you guys say?S9 better or iPhone X?

  • I bought this phone about 25 days back, previously i used htc m9 plus due to its stereo speakers. But audio quality of s9 is of very high quality speakers are very loud. The sound menu has many settings ,you have to use the settings as per your choice. I enjoy the high quality music all the day...display and user menu is very lovely .The camera quality is very good . I purchased the samsung offical flip cover through which the clock and led notification can be seen. You can answer the incoming call without opening its cover. Very very awesome phone.

  • i dnt know why people complaint about s9 battery backup...i used s9 from a month a full day backup with mobile data always on,the main thing is that how you manage your apps or disable or remove unwanted apps.camera quality is excellent in low light...bokeh effect i mean selective focus is perfect.. charging very fast with its original charger but i used sony quick charger for battery charging it completed in 1 hour from 5% to 100%.....now with latest update both sim support LTE 4G network with VOLTE on.

  • I have an s8 and it is magnificent. No lagging or heating best screen great camera and battery life improves after several charges. S9 should be the same or better. Absolutely no complaints.

  • Hello mate, i just bought my s9 3 days prior. I just loved this phone, the overall quality is good whether it be the camera, the performance or the stereo speakers. Also i didnt notice anything unusual like all sort of issues that ppl are facing, i am loving it especially the camera in low light and the music with its stereo speakers. The only thing that falls short in this stunning phone might be the battery although imo, the battery holds well and i do get 4-5 SOT so i do recommend it as overall no other phone in the market comes close to its awesomeness.

  • hi how much battery life this phone? my use isnt heavy pls tell me tnks

  • The gsmarena phonefinder tool is actually pretty useful. Been coming to this website on a regular basis for over 10 years and was not even aware of it!

  • Which is better Note 8 or S9?

  • Hi guys I'm going to buy a new smartphone after 3 days.I want he guys experience with ur S9,I have seen so many complaints. What is ur guys experience with the S9?Do you guys facing any kind of problem heating lagging or something?.And what's he opinion on this smartphone?Thank you...

  • I would like a Mini/Compact version next time already!!!

  • Hi guys,I will buy new smartphone after 4 days,I want it guys experience with it S9.I can't decide which to buy I'm planning between Note 8 or S9.Thank you.

  • Hope Samsung will keep rear camera position on the right corner just like that of Iphone. This position is very very convenient for photography, and this is the reason why many are buying Iphones.

  • Mine both sims Airtel and Jio are running on Volte

  • mine both jio sims are working fine

  • But can't run both sims on 4G/Volte simultaneously. Only 4G and 3G.

  • Hi friends Just got an update of approx 400mb Now we can run 2 jio sims together Just waiting for Samsung to release battery update

  • The 147.7mm tall S9's not exactly compact, but practically 11mm (10.7mm) shorter than your current 158.4mm iPhone 8+ Sony XZ2 compact is truly compact @ 135mm in height. Try GSM's phone finder: I've already set: Max height @ 150mm Years 2017 & 2018 Available now & soon. Change/ Select your choice of Brand's, Spec's, etc:

  • Lucky U.S.A. 5hrs left at time of posting: Deal: Grab a dual-SIM Samsung Galaxy S9 for $600: U.K./ Europe next please.

  • Hy guys greetings from my side; I was looking for a help..which one is the best compact phone ?..Currently using iphone 8+ and frustated of the size and iOS limitations.

  • Yes it has portrait mode: Read under the heading: Camera apps: 'Side swipes switch between shooting modes, including Auto, Portrait, Panorama, Pro, and Super slow-mo'.

  • I think it is only present in plus version.. does regular s9 have protrait mode or selective focus ?

  • yes , is called selective focus

  • Does it have a protrait mode ?

  • I will go with S9 -Better processor that doesn't heat up or warm up -More versatile camera in any situations even the most challenging (super low light) -Better overall screen quality -Best audio quality both plugged and unplugged (stereo speakers------ 2nd loudest next to LG G7 ThinQ) -Decent battery life -Legitimate waterproofing -NO NOTCH! PS: Hope it'll help you.

  • How's Nokia Sirocco software compared with S9

  • Is it better or huawei P20? I think its better

  • Any info on when is S9 getting Oreo 8.1 update ?

  • galaxy S9 or iphone 8+ wht u will suggest me?

  • i have the same question here?! any advices please

  • Hi Lucas, No you don't need to buy a new S9, Manyak maraig is just trolling. First always make sure that you dont push it in any further. I would use some thin blade tweezers, check you can get purchase (access & grip) on the SD card. If it just slides off then make the tweezer contact pincer points tacky by using them on some folded cellotape (sticky side on the outside) across the surface area of tape (about 5 times). Hope this works, let us know, if it doesn't contact Samsung, this can be fixed, you're not the first & you wont be the last. Jeremiah21 It depends on what's most important to you, what you can get the best deal on. In the U.K. Samsung is better for longevity, repairability with genuine parts, any breakage can be fixed within 1hr: Whichever you choose put it in a drop proof case Size wise you would be better comparing the P20 Pro with the S9+, see: Dilmeet Glad all is well with your S9 Dilmeet, enjoy :)

  • Buy a new samsung s9

  • I want to hear your opinion guys if which of the Huawei p20 pro or Samsung Galaxy s9 is the better phone and which of this two will last long in terms or hardware.

  • Guys I need your help, I’m a bit confused on what should I buy or should I say worth buying flagship phones that being launched today I’ve been searching all over the internet if Samsung Galaxy s9 is better than Huawei p20 Pro or Huawei p20 pro is better than Samsung s9, and which of them will last longer in terms of their hardware.

  • How often do you listen to music from the phone speaker?

  • Hi, am Lucas I inserted the memory card wrongly and it got stuck inside the sim/memory slot preventing me from even inserting the sim card anymore even I can't even return the tray. What shall I do?

  • s9+ why not plus ??

  • S9 or S9+ which is better?

  • Not "native" stereo speakers, bottom speaker is way louder than the ear speaker used to simulate stereo sound something like the mod on s8 making the earpiece be used as secondary speaker ... SAMSUNG, You are still ages behind Sony on the field of stereo speakers ... overall nice smartphone, easily fits hand and can easily be used with 1 hand. Keyboard is a hard to get used to ...

  • They are ditching fm radio since s4 and note 3. So im still not buying any flagship phone. Useless for me.

  • hmm.... dont forget no Ip68 water resistance, no knox like security, no samsung pay like feature which works even on non nfc machines, subpar camera compared to samsung s9 which even has 960 fps slo mo, no wireless charging and ofcourse free data theft like oneplus always do. You get what you pay for. You cant just compare two different league of phones. Oneplus will always be flagship wanna be, never can be a flagship.

  • if you check the base variant of Oneplus 6 has 6 gb RAM and Similar processor . better battery 3300mAh.

  • The 1plus 6 is just 100 dollars less than the s9 and thats absolutly not worth anyhow

  • other vendors like oneplus will provide this configuration for half of the price

  • Hey friend, it works fine now but my wife's S7 is more confidence inspiring than my S9 to be honest. I have owned many IP68 phone's in the past but this is the most sensitive one I came across. Warranty and all will be tough here so I chose to be careful.

  • Iphone not .it sucks a lot

  • it does not run sonic!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is a disgrace to all phones and to sonic

  • just for the record ....... iPhones SUCK!!!! I would NEVER own one as they are too limited to downloads and goodluck bluetoothing to a normal android etc ...... As far as modern phones go, my last Samsung was the S6 edge which I LOVED but it sadly was getting too hot for my liking. I now have an LG G6 which really is an awesome phone BUT the same problem, it gets hot at times too [not quite as bad though] What I LOVE about the G6 is the camera modes. I can have BOTH cameras active on my screen at the same time and I can swipe to change the direction of each camera [sorry, it's hard to explain lol] I'm looking at upgrading from my G6 soon and AM VERY tempted by the S9. I had ALL Samsung phones for over 15 years and my LG G6 was the fist time I ever had something different and I regret it. WHY?? because the processors are much slower. Samsung use TOP quality and TOP speed processors so IMHO, stick with Samsung S9 ;) Hope this helps...

  • extra ram for style

  • Wht is the first infinity display phone ?

  • I don't think you've S9... been using my S9 for more than a month and didn't experience any of what you claim... maybe you're using a S9 clone...lol

  • You realize that phones aren't exactly the same ratio of use as computers right? 4gb on a phone is PLENTY to use. Android within itself doesn't take more than a gig of ram at a time. And no one professionally games on a phone.

  • I always been a Samsung fan forever stopping at the S5 is where all the good features battery life was s78 and 9 I'll get way too hot too fast crappy battery life and the worst thing is it's not IR capable or MHL capable. Not very loud on the seven and eight and I hate not having to be able to remove my battery

  • Sorry but I don't have a clue what you are going on about.

  • why j7 pro still famous ?

  • "Hope Samsung will give up this glass fashion and came out with something more usable like A8 (2018)" The A8 (2018) HAS glass front and back.

  • agree

  • so it lacks a biometry on the screen as it comes without live x21ud

  • Want to buy a phone. My selections are, iphone 7 or7+, sony xz1/xz2 or samsung s9. Please advice. Thanks

  • Samsung did good job with s9 overall . but pump the battery up to 4000 mah, who care if its 1mm thicker! especially when got the opportunity to leave the charger at home. 6gb ram at least! for god sake last year phones like one plus 5T got 8gb ! who would buy S9 128 or 256 storage and 4gb ram only ... there is no longterm to this 4gb next few android updates and the 4gb is not usable anymore..

  • they make c9 pro with 6gb ram yet S9 got 4gb ram only ...that doesnot make sense samsung!!

  • S9 is too fragile with too much glass. I will keep my S5 for one year more. Hope Samsung will give up this glass fashion and came out with something more usable like A8 (2018), but with better camera.

  • Would like to see a S9 mini.

  • the comparison S8 and S9 cannot reveal any new important features, so it is better option to buy a new s8 for 500$ instead s9 for 800$

  • Hi Dilmeet, no need to worry about your phone's IP68 protection, it will be protected by the warranty. If the S7 is dryed in exactly the same way with a Q tip bud, then It's looks like the S9 is a bit more sensitive, I reckon that their are wet fibres being left by the cotton bud. Maybe better to use a bit if lint free cloth? I would follow the manual's method of drying the charging port. But don't worry, test it out at a swimming bath (Max. 1.5 meter deep), or immerse it in a sink or a glass flower vase for 10 mins to reassure yourself. Have fun & enjoy your phone.

  • This year Samsung galaxy s9 exynos variant is a huge flop. I'm experiencing a stutter here and there due to its under-clocked cpu and poor battery life.

  • After yesterday, the issue seems to have resolved itself. But a huge concern for me now. Though IP68, I am doubtful with it's capabilities even for just a sprinkle of water now. Too bad.

  • Just tried to clean the phone with gentle splash of water and now, unable to charge it because of Moisture detected error! An IP68 phone couldn't handle splash of water? Tried to use a q-tip, reboot, tried to charge with the phone off, etc. no luck. An S7 in the household with Nougat is exposed to the same gentle splash but 0 issues till date. Wow, just amazing. I have a 800$ paper weight now

  • Yes. Call recorder plz !

  • Dear Developer Please Note that in New Samsung Device S9 OR S9 Plus have Same Issue Most of Comman Apps are not Playing Compatibly in Oreo 8.0 also Call Recording app Not Playing in this Version Kindly Check it and Solve it as Soon as Possible. Thanks & Regards Shahzad Akhtar

  • heating problem

  • It is loud for sure, but all treble and no bass, real pain for the ears...How come the new 100 euros Huawei Y6 sounds louder and better with only one speaker ?

  • May be they will come out with a mini version of the S9. No I don't want to carry a giant phone with me. Older phones used to be 4.5" and fit in your pocket. Now phones are 6" and won't fit or stick out of pockets....

  • i am a samsung fan. samsung's designs are excelent. curved screens are very good. and samsung's oled is the best display. bye bye old lcd. and samsung's customer support is good

  • ACR call recorder is the best, and almost compatible with all phonrs available in the market, except Huawei.

  • I have an s8. No problems whatsoever. Great phone.

  • If that is a problem go for the S8 in my opinion.

  • Wondering how you were able to compare One Plus 6 (not released yet) and (released) S9. Battery life is bad but not that worse as stated. Exynos or Snapdragon, performance is actually much better than all generations.

  • About a month using the phone: 1) Design is finally ergonomic as compared to S8 but little heavy and not compact enough. 2) Feels snappier to use but occasional stutters still creep in. 3) Heats up with normal usage. Was never an issue on S7 or S8. 4) Battery life is average at best. 1 day backup is tricky now. 5) Camera and slow mo features are good. 6) Samsung UI feels unoptimised as battery drain, unusual heating, performance hiccups, Etc are spoilers. 7) Software update is slightly improved with regular security updates. (Just updated to April security patch, OS is still Oreo 8.0) 8) Haven't noticed or observed any call drops till date. 9) Hybrid slot tray is very flimsy. Easy to break unfortunately. 10) Screen is brighter than S8 and S7. 11) Overall a good all-rounder but falls a bit short of flagship status. Just a better S8, nothing more. 7.5/10

  • About to buy an S9, but worried about the call dropping problem..is it real or fake news ?

  • Only small battery life is a huge problem ,s9 should have 4000mah battery

  • Hate it. Terrible sound quality in call and audio out,

  • Just buy a universal remote control! You can pick them up cheap.

  • Honestly, am enjoying my new s7 edge. Someone is offering me s8+ in exchange, but am not sure am willing to let it go.

  • Samsung S9 is good but they have finished the infrared port which was really good as i used to control all devices which were operated by a remote. but now int the new mobile there is no infrared which is a draw back for people like me.

  • Just get an S7 Edge and save a fortune.

  • I do not know fo any call recorders but you could probably download a screen recorder and change the file for it to .m4a or .mp3 that way you do not have to watch it as a video

  • very bad

  • I m also looking for a call recorder for my exynos s9 plus.nowadays it is a must app for everyone.why samsung not realising this.almost other phones in market support call recorder in India.shame samsung..

  • Any call recorder application compatible for S9. Kindly post if any.

  • I don't know anything about Sony phones. I only know that I am totally satisfied with my s8. But everything is a compromise and each phone may excel in different fields. My priority was the appearance of the phone, quality of display and quality of the camera and powerful performance. I feel that in all these areas the s8 excels. the first thing that would stop me from buying a Sony is the out-dated appearance of the phone with its quite thick bezels. However what may appear beautiful or ugly to me may be the opposite to someone else. It is my opinion only.

  • one plus 6 could have awful battery no-one knows yet.

  • so whats your conclusion, xz1c is still better aite ? i mean in term of battery life

  • Audiophile would buy V30 easy

  • 990 euro? that's not the real price. whay they add like 100-200 euro more then its real price?

  • The s9 has a louder output on the 3.5mm jack than the s7 did. Don't have to turn my car stereo up as much anymore.

  • Battery life of My galaxy S9 has improved a bit after 1 weeks of usage. It's giving me 1day battery life with Screen on time 4-6 hrs. Could have been better, but it's fine for me

  • hi all recently bought this phone. very worst battery performance , before i used s6. i feel the battery performance of s9 is 50 lesser than s6 even updated chipset . Exynos again cheated their fans or better go for snapdragon version which available in USA and China . you can buy from amazon.com. totally disappointment . better to go for One Plus 6...

  • In "Settings" the battery has 3 power saving modes - Off, Mid, and Max. Currently my settings are set at 'Off" mode and I have 93% of battery left and 47 hours and 38 mins. In "Mid" mode it will give 57 hours and 59 mins. In 'Max' mode it will give 145 hours and 41 mins. I should also add that I always have my screen on maximum resolution - 2960x1440 - because if you've got the best then you may as well use it. I also always have Bluetooth, WiFi, Mobile Data and Location switched on and brightness set at about 75%.

  • Poor quality control on the old phone until Samsung Note 7. Recently the curved screen one also a very fragile design, how come the designer don't care the durability?!

  • To IKRAM: I don't feel the edge to edge displays. The most useful edge out there was the very first one, the Galaxy Note 4 Edge. I feel my S5 a whole lot more than any other S series. The S5 is legendary not to mention the last innovative one...up to this point.

  • After I re-read my comment just now I remember that there's already and S8+ but still it could have been called S8 'Plus' (omitting the +) or call it S8+2. You get the idea.

  • I think this one u can change in the setting where u hold home button for few seconds to unlock the phone, but im not sure if it can outrun the locking screen or not

  • endurance rate is 78h for battery, what if I reduce to the lowest resolution 720p, off the always display screen, off location and etc, how much now endurace rate after u optimize all the things, can it reach like xz1 compact 108h endurance rating, this is the only deciding factor for me to buy either xz1c or samsung9 - the battery life thanks guys for answering

  • iam in luv with sumsung phones ithink s9 is more better than iphone x

  • Yes, exactly, my biggest problem with samsung is the useless edge screen, and not having the flat screen any more, i hate it, and alot of people hate it, but why samsung insist on edge?????? why?

  • Make sure that you have turned on Dolby atmos in Galaxy S9, Its one of the best speaker.

  • Samsung already has a phone named the S8+ and audio on smartphones are generally bad. Try getting an actual DAC + Amp setup and a good set of headphones.

  • maybe some trusted bluetooth device such as u level headset is connected or face recognition is on

  • Hi is there anyone who is facing heating issue with Samsung s9?

  • I agree with you, certainly not the best.

  • I'm one of the biggest Samsung fans around. They make solid and admirable phones period ESPECIALLY the flagship ones. I got a hands on experience on a S9 and S9+ over the weekend and I'm a bit disappointed with the audio seeing that this is the first time stereo speakers are implemented. The reason I'm disappointed is because both the earpiece and loudspeakers sound the same way. No difference whatsoever...mind you though they sound good, I have two phones a Galaxy S5 and a Huawei P9 Plus. The P9 Plus has stereo speakers and though it's older than the S9/S9+ the P9 Plus speakers sound better than the S9s speakers. Also, the S9s doesn't have the portait/landscape audio feature like the P9 Plus (anybody who have experienced the P9 Plus audio in full will understand what I'm saying). The P9 Plus pumps a whole more bass from the bass speaker and the tweeter seems to shoot more treble from the tweeter speaker. I just don't hear the excellent effect from both S9s like what the P9 Plus have. Even though the P9 Plus is a very good phone I still don't want to give up my S5. I prefer the S5 keyboard and the S5 Wi-Fi antenna among some other little things. Though the P9 does have a lot more going for it in comparison to the S5. My preference choice is simply complicated like a lot of relationships out there. On a final note, after my experience with both S9s and reading GSMArena's own review, the S9s should have been called S8 Plus.

  • Hey guys anybody facing lock screen issue . When we press the home button sometimes it does not ask the password and directly opens the home screen even when there is a pattern password. Any solution plz Thanks

  • Nice S9 da best tlga!

  • Hey guys how’s the audio quality and loudness of the S9 is it really loud for the headphones I thought of purchasing it cause am an audiophile. I really appreciate your reviews about the audio quality and loudness for the headphones. Thank you

  • Best? No

  • ya absolutely you can get better camera, real fast processor, nice to fingerprint scanner place more more more.....

  • If you don't have any money constrain, then yes. S9 has best Stereo speakers, better performance and obviously great Low light camera. These are the main difference between S8 and S9

  • Hell no. There's hardly any difference, and to go from one expensive phone to another one in less than a year is just stupid.

  • I did..and to be fair the difference is noticeable....fingerprint scanner is flawless, camera better.. memory better, holds Apps a lot more without refresh.. love it =)

  • is there any need to upgrade from s8 plus to s9 ??

  • S9 price too high for me, having A8 which is half the price of S9. Just don't like S curve edges. Less a bit on specs. But services and availability is why I bought Samsung since my S2 now obsolete (still working).

  • Still enjoying my S8, no useful bw 8 & 9, can't wait to embrace 10

  • Leave where? Lmao I'm pretty sure all new devices are curved atm.

  • I have the galaxy s8. It's very comfortable and I have never touched the edges. The problem is that the bigger variants are a nightmare to hold. I agree with you. But the small variant is good. Sad thing that bigger variants have bigger batteries and more features like dual cameras.

  • I've been a Samsung fan for many years (since Note II), but since Samsung insist on the stupid curved screen as the only option, I have to leave. I am so sick of the curve - it's uncomfortable to hold, it makes protectors bulky and ineffective, can't use the pen (note 8) on the edges, can't touch on the edge of the playing field in games, extra touches and miss-touches because your other fingers are already touching the screen just by holding the phone. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you must. There is really very, VERY, little advantage to the stupid curve. Now opinions will vary, and that's ok - problem is that Samsung don't offer the flat screen option anymore - so they will lose those people. Like me. And I am disappointed about that.

  • I love samsung design. I dont like other android brands looking like an iphone x. Samsung and sony are the only brands im buying

  • But 3.000 mAh battery is monsterous for Symbian

  • #benben - its not samsung, its the carriers/providers, they are trying make as much money, capitalizing on this new samsung S9 (+) they are competing against each other. the price of of factory unlock from samsung is the same, and selling ! carriers dont like that, thats why all this "deals"

  • lol s9 is not doing so well I guess. Samsung is offering all sorts plans to switch to S9. People from s7 and s8 won't switch as it would be almost useless. Better skip this one sammy. Focus on bringing something useful in S10 like proper battery and under screen FP. Try not to mess it up with 6.5 or 7 inch lol.

  • samsung have a lot ofoney from apple so now they dont care about the user . They are morecinto making more money and profit out of it

  • stick witb i phone or go for other brand samaung is not the only one . Just chose whIch android suite u

  • no only screens motherboard all all kind of nonsence

  • coz they were force to as the phone either going to break or break down all together

  • Exactly . Thats why i ran to other brands . I think they are copying Apple IPhone technique but they make sure that evidence is erased unlike apple got caught in the scene . Now giving free battery with a discount ?

  • Which android application name please

  • You dont need upgrade if you want wait pixel next year

  • I bought the S9 to have the best camera phone of 2019, and until now it didn't dissapoint. But with the p20 pro released, i think i might have to upgrade. Anyway, here are some of the best comparisons i found on youtube with mate 10 pro and pixel 2. It's a new channel, but seems legit, not like tech town, tech swich or other fake channels

  • Does it support new UFS cards? UFS use less power while being faster compared to microSD
