The latest ROM available for this is Android Nougat 7.1. You can get it from XDA or LineageOS. The only issue with it, so far, is that the camera will not function with the ROM. It is a known issue, but since development for the SM-T320 stopped in 2017, there will be no fixes for it. I recommend disabling the Camera app after installation.

This is a really good tablet. Had it way back 2014 and is still functioning well. The only problem I have is the battery but aside from that, it still performs as if it was bought yesterday. Hope they release more tabs of this kind.

If you're rooted, try the Slim 6 stable rom. The rom is Android 6.0.1 without anything extra. Slim 6 is smooth as glass, fast as a bat out of blazes and very easy on the battery. If you had a lot of apk's to make all of the above happen in Android 5 or earlier, they are no longer needed. I was thinking of upgrading to a new tablet. After upgrading to Slim 6, I decided it wasn't worth the effort.

Hi. I recently found my Tabpro 8.4 wouldn't fully charge, it would go up to around 65% and then plateau infinitely. I almost gave up on it until I finally pried it open. It's damn hard to open, the back cover has a perfect fit. Unlike the larger version (10.1? can't recall), it's not only the leather-like part that comes off, the sides comes off as well in a single piece. You need to slowly, patiently build a gap between the screen and the border (a rather soft pliable plastic) using some soft plastic (though less pliable than the border :) ). I used a medium fine guitar pick. It scratched some of the chrome coating in two places, but nothing bad. The fit after I replaced it was still perfect. Then I removed a tiny sticker over the battery terminal, unplugged and plugged it back in. The terminal is plugged by vertical pressure, you lift it up to remove and then just press it down back in place. It's also a tight fit, you wouldn't imagine it could come loose, but it did the trick for me. I placed the sticker back, reattached the back cover and resumed charging up to 100% very quickly.

Hi guys, I had the same problem with my battery so I'm gonna try your suggestions about opening the back and reconnect the battery. I have another issue with my Tab Pro, all of a sudden I cannot drag down my notifications at the top of my screen. So I don't have easy access to my settings and notifications. I did not install anything new at that time and then when I try to drag down to see my notifications, it doesn't work anymore. So for the meantime I found an alternative solution and installed this Drop Down Status Bar app. When I click this app on my screen, that's the only time that my shortcut settings and notifications drops down. However if I am on FB, Instagram or any apps that is open, I need to go to my Homepage first to click the Drop Down Status Bar app to open my notifications at the top. Unlike before whatever apps you open and you need to check your notifications bar, all you have to do is drag down the top of your screen. Hoping you could help me with my shortcut settings and notification bar issues. I would really appreciate it a lot :)

I have the same problem. I disassemble my tablet and deconect batery. And afther 1min i connect battery. Now it works perfectly without restarting anymore. I hope it will help you. You can find on youtube how to open your tab and decconect battery.

The tablet does overheat after a while is use and has bubbles in the top corner, also the battery can be temperamental and sometimes change slowly, I would get the tab s over this because of the samples display and finger print scanner

I've had the same problem as everyone. After a year of using the tablet, the battery stopped working eventually. I bought a new battery for 30$, replaced it myself. And installed CM 13 on it. It works like a charm on Marshmallow. I enabled the battery Efficiency option. Now it works better than the stock Touchwiz version.

hm..i'll try :P so,my tab pro for unknown reasons, keeps restarting if battery gets low and if im using the camera sometimes or playing a game. it has something like bubbles on the up left corner and sometimes after many restarts i couldn't find my language keyboard :P so i had to download another from playstore. the weird here,it's that when it's charging, it works fine. tab s,looks better and has better screen. but i've seen from other users that it's restarting too. but i didn't read any other serious problems. take this link if u want to read other users opinions. maybe it would be better if u would search for it by yourself :)

Same proble with mine. I opened disconnect the battery for a few minutes and connected again. Problem resolved. You can find in YouTube how to open it. Is pretty easy.

I've returned it for samsung to fix it (under warranty), it has been 2 months and said that they will be replacing the main board. I've had mine since it came out. Rooted and put Cyanogenmod on it right away and it runs as well as when I got it. I use it every single day. I'm very satisfied with the quality and performance still.

I've been using this tablet for a year now and... I absolutely love it! It is used 80% for gaming and 20% for web browsing. I never had imagined the screen resolution is so important! And this screen is superb for the money. I don't experience any lags, wi-fi is very fast (I've got the AC router). A small drawback is the back cover which is a bit too slippery.

Love it! I can do 90% of what I do on a PC here. If I am doing word processing, I will use the Desk Top. After using Desk Tops and Laptops for years, I wanted a Tablet. My wife got an IPad. I use one occasionally. My impression is that this is far better. It appears to be FASTER, and is certainly much lighter. The graphics are much better. I listen to music, on the PC through head phones. so the argument that the speakers are of poor quality does not hold water with me. Everything has lousy speakers. The only thing I don't like is where the power button is placed. I bump it all the time. It just goes to screen saver, but annoying. If they recessed the button a bit it would be fine where it is I think, or move it to the top.

Already bought Tab Pro 8.4. It's blazing fast! My sis has an ipad mini 2 and the speed is almost the same in terms of openong and closing apps. It just lags a little bit when opening my files/gallery. i also think that the tab pro has better screen quality than ipad mini 2. ipad mini 2 has washed out colors as compared to tab pro. Anyway, thank you for your suggestion!

I bought my Samsung Tab Pro 8.4 November last year and up to now it never fails my craving for movies, music, browsing and gaming. Actually the reason why I bought this is because of Clash of Clans. if you go on normal watching a movie or browsing it can stay for the whole day or more but with high def games like clash of clans expect it will last up to 4 to 5 hours to non-stop playing. Still satisfied with the performance.

Not a great choice in my opinion. I just got rid of my ipad and got the tab pro. The 'freedom' is exhilarating! If you aren't used to having to being tethered to your computer just to add files, or only being able to connect with other apple devices, stick with android.

I bought my Tab Pro refurbished for a very good price. My impressions are that it is very well made, has a premium look and feel and is fast and responsive. I considered buying the newer Galaxy Tab S, but for $150 less, I got a tablet that has almost the same specs. I don't think you have to worry about this tablet failing on you anytime soon.

as far as i know the battery of the nexus 7 is smaller than tab pro. gaming on tab pro is superb! very fluid during 3D games like asphalt 8, dead trigger etc. it loads fast! the battery life of the tab pro for me is decent enough it lasts 1 day for super heavy usage. i dont own a nexus device so i cant tell the battery difference between these both devices. but many user of nexus 7 tell that their battery drains fast due to its smaller battery as compared to tab pro. i recommend you to buy this instead of nexus 7. but if you're on a tight budget, nexus 7 is also a great choice :)

No doubt, buy this Tab Pro 8.4 instead of iPad Mini1.iPad Mini 1 has weak processor and low RAM (512MB I guess) which results to slower performance as compared to the quadcore processor plus 2.3 GHz, KRAIT400 2gb of RAM which results to buttery smooth and fluid performance. And also, iPad has only 163ppi pixel density which is quite low here on the present. On the other hand, tab pro 8.4 has Super Clear LCD with pixel density of 359ppi. Tab pro for me even beat the iPad Mini 2 with retina display bec tab pro has more vivid display, better camera, and expandable memory via sd card and more. I strongly suggest you to buy the Tab Pro 8.4! You wont regret it promise :)

The Watch-On app will be in the Samsung Store, not the Play Store. The name for the Samsung Store applications is "Galaxy Apps", which should be pre-loaded on the tablet.

been using this tab for 2 weeks and the performance is stellar overall! ultra fast tablet though there are frame drops on Magazine UX. That's the only drawback for me the little lags on the homescreen but the touchwiz by the way performs well. i feel very satisfied that i bought this device instead of apple iPad mini with retina display. the battery lasts for 1 and a half day for moderate usage. fast processor, fashionable design, great apps available, hancomm office which i found very useful since im a college student, super clear and vivid screen more pixel density as compared to iPad mini 2. it's expensive for 399 bucks but definitely this device is all worth it! its 17k here in the Philippines.

Im also from the philippines and i own this tab. As of today the performance is superb. Really smooth while reading books, playing games, and browsing the internet. This or the iPad mini 2 (WIFI ONLY for both)? I've read out there about the complaints about battery life. My tablet is mainly for reading (although for a long number of hours) a few minutes of browsing,and just a few hours of music (perhaps in conjunction with reading) I rarely play games. I like the iPad because I know that in the long run, it would retain it's fluidity, it is minimalistic, and is straightforward. I don't have much of a pet peeve for iTunes syncing and its unexpandable storage. I also don't mind that the iPad isn't as customizable as Samsung. I'm not invested in the app ecosystem yet; the only app I've bought is GoodReader, and I'm sure that if I switch to android, I will find a worthy substiture. As for the Galaxy Tab Pro, I like that it has USB - like capabilities and has expandable memory. But again, my worries are that it will lag or stutter in the future (although I am not that worried if the lag is something you can tolerate). And in my country (PHL), this is also cheaper. Any objective and unbiased input would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

im having a problem with my tab pro right now. after downloading PvZ2 for 3 hours, it turned to 25 percent so before sleeping at night i didnt charge it. i woke upa nd the battery is already 15 percent so i charged it. then it is already fully charged and after 3 hours the battery dropped down to 92%. i was shocked so i charged it again. is again already fully charged so i slept and after waking up, the battery dropped again to 92%. fyi the apps are all closed after and during charging it.

Outstanding. This tablet is by far the best I've used. I used to own a VivoTab Smart, and before that a Transformer Pad (tf300t) but decided to go down to this perfectly-sized 8.4" tablet by Samsung. I have to admit I was an ASUS fanboy until I bought this. Apart from the 8.4" form-factor being absolutely perfect, this tablet packs incredible power and breezes through everything from the most intense games to playing FLAC format music and 1080p .mkv videos. (Playing FLAC has about a 0.2% CPU usage on one core of the powerful Snapdragon 800 alone). Not that this is even remotely necessary but WAY in the future, I'm talking about years from now, if this device ever starts to show even slight lag there's a kernel out there which puts the quad-core Snapdragon 800 to a CRAZY 2.73GHz. One thing I wasn't sure of before getting this and I'm sure some of you can relate is the new Samsung TouchWiz UI. After getting the tablet and actually using it, I completely fell in love with it.. and have falling in love with it more and more every day. I've now owned the tablet for two months. You will NOT be disappointed in this tablet, it's specs OR it's User-Interface. If you're looking for an outstanding tablet which you can rely on for anything or you're just looking for something to make everyone around you jealous, look no further.

I have big distance from router because it's in top of the house. But on other devices from same place is ok. I need to buy another router set as repetear.

I just got this tab. LTE version. Everything about it is amazing. Calls and internet is great. Messenger and video calling apps work great... Gaming is perfect!! Super clear screen as well ... One thing I am still trying to figure out is the touch screen time out. It goes off while I am working or using it and then have to press the home button or power button again. I think it doesn't work so good. I've had problems with this tablet: skype seems to be very pixelated for my wife to see me and I ensure you we both have great internet connection. Also, magic jack calling gives a horrible echo to my wife, I have to use headphones so she doesn't hear herself.

I had a note 2 and the note 3 is so much better. and, I use the stylus all the time. I keep lists, such as grocery lists. I've begun keeping my handwritten journal in S Note - syncing into Evernote. I took a lot of handwritten notes at a lecture,on my Note 3 - 41 pages again synced with Evernote. I , know a lot of non-business people who love the stylus. the fact this isn't a note device is why I'm hesitating.

I have been a happy Samsung galaxy user ever since Nokia chose the wrong path in terms of OS. I currently have a note 2 with Jellybean 4.3 and a tab 2 with Jelly bean 4.2.2 and I am highly pleased with both devices. I decided not to upgrade my note 2 to note 3 because note 3 is over-hyped and overpriced. There is no point paying a lot for less, especially when you have something that does almost the same thing. With Jellybean 4.3 running on my note 2, I am highly pleased with the performance. The only difference between note 2 and note 3 is the S-Pen functionality. Who uses the S-Pen that much anyways? Also, I decided not to update my tab 2 7 to tab 3 7 because the latter is a mistake from Samsung. I wonder who decided that mistake in the first place? Besides, I don't like those annoying hardware buttons, especially the menu button on tab 3, note 8 and note 10.1 2014. Samsung galaxy tab 8.4 pro should be a replacement for my tab 2 7 not just because of the mouth watering hardware specs but because of the following reasons as well: 1. The annoying menu button has been replaced with multitasking button, a feature I love so much in my tab 2, rather than a doing long press on the home button key to achieve the same purpose on tab 3, note 8 and note 10.1 2014. 2. It will also be a plus if the GSM functionality is retained in galaxy tab 8.4 pro. 3. If condition 2 above is not met, I will still go for it anyways provided condition 4 below is met. 4. Otherwise how can you explain the very late screen resolution boost by Samsung? And also how can you explain Samsung finally adding LTE to all of its tablets but lacks common LTE bands for US Market? LTE SPECS NOW AVAILABLE: NO LTE bands for T-Mobile and even for AT&T. Thanks god Samsung finally made 42mbps 3g on all new tablets instead of 21mbps. Plus GSM arena states that all of these new tablets have only 3g and 4g connectivity (except than non have 4g for USA). Since APPLE IPAD Has LTE connectivity for every US Carrier, I can only assume that Samsung and Apple are working together to keep APPLE in the first place in sales. Just like there was no explanation as to why Samsung didn't make high resolution display before when it already made retina displays for APPLE. I will have to stick to a Lumia 1525 dues to it's full connectivity and being able to text quickly.

I really hope that GSM on this tablet is for making phone calls and not just for a sim card. I will only able to confirm it when specifications become available on Samsung's website. However, even if this tablet can make phone calls the lack of stylus pen makes it impossible to write quick text messages on such a large display. The only explanation I find for this, is that Samsung still wants overpriced Note 3 to lead in sales.

Specs are impressive. Pound for pound, this tab is much better than iPad mini 2. It has the highest 359 PPI than any tablet in the world. I expect this tab to cost $399 for 16gb comparable to iPad mini 2.

finally samsung removed affordable range of new tablets these specs will be priced with minimum of 500$ which is expensive compared to tab 2 and tab 3 which are of similar size range impresed with these specs but its not for the audience , who can invest their money with the similar price point of tab 2 and tab 3 8 inch or similar size tablets are purchased not be pro's but who plays lot games and shows off big screen with less payment so it will not hit in the market as i think
