So I factory reseted this phone, which I have since 2013 and it's back to it's old speed, and memory isn't clogged anymore. Works beautifully. I have the S8, but when I go to forrest I just don't carry it with me, and if I'll work at construction site again, I don't want to have my S8 there. The Samsung Galaxy Young is virtually indestructible, I still have the first screen protector I put on it and it's first and only case, it survived dozens of drops during the years, I used it, my sister used it when she broke her phone, my mom used it... now I'm gonna put another SIM in it, and use this phone as my secondary device. When battery goes bad, you just buy a new one, I just hope there will still be batteries for them to buy, since I want this device to live, it was my first smartphone, and to this day, it's working. I can't describe how satistfied I am with this buy. It wasn't expensive at all and it's been serving me, and everyone else for years! That's the meaning of word QUALITY!

With apps like Facebook and Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp it got slow, especially because I had lots of photos on it. These 3 apps were kinda too much for that phone. Been using this phone for about 3 years and all I can say is that this phone really awesome that it is still functioning up to this date. Its like a brand new even up today. I use this phone as my second phone when I go outside and still rocking. Downside is the internal memory but it is not a big deal as this phone is just an entry level so no doubt with that. Will take care of this phone as this is no longer found in any stores nowadays. Samsung phone/s are always sturdy and awesome.

Used it for about 2 years until I updated but it worked fine, the battery lasted me up to three days without charging at all, and I could play music non stop for more than five hours and it was at about 77%. Because it was old, it couldn't have new apps which didn't support the update but otherwise if you just need a phone and don't need fancy new apps then this is a great phone. Best first smartphone ever.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Young S6310 since almost three years and it continues to work well. Some months ago I had a problem with calling option but now it's right. it goes less speedly than at the beginning but it's good. BUT there are four problems, you can't move your apps to the SD card and you have not a lot of Giga (only 1.5 Giga) for downloading music, videos, apps, ... and you can't remove some useless apps like "ChatOn" , "Hangouts",... and the photos are really ugly on the Gsm.

Nice and compact, although a bit thick for its size. Will fit most pockets. Good phone for the price, but consider what type of user you are. People who just want to have their phone handy, or play some music on the go, or quickly read a few messages or news articles will like the Young just fine. Heavy users should steer clear though, you have only 2GB of phone storage and there is NO App2SD capability which means that this phone fills up pretty quickly. Performance wise it's... capable. Just like your grandmother's car; it will get you there, but you'll be bored and possibly annoyed.

I had bought Samsung Galaxy young 2 years ago, Samsung made many things & cuts to make it cheap: 1-the processor is single core, now phones even as cheap as this phone have at least dual core, single core made the phone to put all the apps load on it making phone very slow and lags. Please note this is the main disadvantage of this phone. 2-the screen is budget TFT and not protected against scratches. 3-no 4G 4-the Battery is below standard (1300 mAh). 5-the camera is average at best. 6-less than 1.5 gb is available for you to install apps. You can run apps like Facebook and whatsapp and some light games but dont expect to play fifa 15 - Asphalt 8 - Real racing at all. Please consider other phones with better specs at this price as they would give greater value for your money

Please don't think ever to buy this phone, i regret buying it :( , this Galaxy young is extremely slow, only 1GHZ single core!!! which affects overall performance and gaming badly, No updates till now!!! and i think samsung would never do. The battery & Camera are average , and the internal memory is only 1.5gb avaliable for your applications and games if you don't want to root. there are many many alternatives better than this at this price like Moto E for example. I would buy another phone very soon because the specs are now Outdated.

Well I have had and am currently using GT-6102 for 3 years now and its been the best compact phone for my business with prepaid dual Sims and tethering with my tablet on building site. Am updating to the GT-s6312 as the old one is tired..... its very compact and if you need a simple phone that can make phone calls, texts and internet connectivity on prepaid dual Sims then this is the answer. I text with Telstra (1 cent text to Telstra phones)and call/internet/tether with Optus as its only $2 a day unlimited. Looking forward to my updated Samsung duos phone to arrive!!!!

It's slow, kicking me out of apps VERY often, resolution VERY VERY bad. Well, the first time I use this is no doubt at all.. 1.44GB is enough. But the problem is, how can I use the other apps? How can I update them? Especially the samsung apps. Though I look at the specification of this before buying, I've expected that this will be great than the samsung galaxy y gt-s5360. Single core is also good but I actually see the bad result of it.. I've uses this for 12 months already and I've discovered something. The battery consumes a lot at night. I don't know why. I've charged this before I get sleep and when I wake up, I found it 79% already.. I have no freakin' idea. Second, the vibration.. The motor inside is already broken. Performance of this, pretty good at all. Well guys, if you have some problems about the ram, just root your phone and download Link2sd then go to the "Settings-Application-Running Services." You check out the apps that are running that for you is useless. Launch Link2SD then choose the app then Freeze it. I required the "Maps" to be frozen.. That's it..

alright. this review is written on a galaxy young. this phone worked AMAZING at first,now even when i'm typing it lags,because i use it to spend time on all that social media, so yeah. this is not a phone to do all that smartphone cool stuff like gaming and others,sometimes games don't even fit the screen and go over board,it's funny. as for starters i actually recommend this phone ,it will make you understand smartphones well. but after a while,you'll want to upgrade it for sure,i guarantee. I've had this phone for about a year now. This is my first smartphone and the device itself is a reasonable introduction in the world of all-touchscreen phones. The screen is quite small and therefore not really comfortable for video playback or other kinds of graphical entertainment. However, videos run nicely and the display quality is superb for its size. I don't use it for gaming as I have always found touchscreen gaming to be awkward and dumbed down because of the implicit limitations. I run a fair amount of useful apps on it, like Google Maps (runs a bit slow and will drain your battery quickly if you use it for long-term GPS navigation), Google Sky Maps (very accurate due to the GPS hardware), Facebook and Facebook Messenger, gStrings (guitar tuning, very accurate), Wikipedia, Yahoo! Messenger, Gmail, Pushbullet, Google+, Google Hangouts, Google Photos (automatically backs up the photos I take with the phone's camera), Google Chrome, AccuWeather, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube, Dropbox, a number of banking applications and other miscellaneous apps. Facebook Messenger runs ok, though will often run somewhat lagged. Facebook itself runs ok. At one point, I was talking to someone on the phone (had it on speaker) while editing a *.ppt file in King Office, after which I sent it via email to the person I was talking to. No trouble whatsoever, it does its job. Web page will load relatively quick, depending on the load. Image-heavy and flash-laden pages will take a longer time to load, during which the phone might become unresponsive to user input. Forum usage (phpBB, IPB, vBulletin) and general googling are a breeze. Unfortunately, the phone always feels underpowered. Even cycling through home screens will sometimes be choppy. Storage-wise, it doesn't allow installing apps on an external card, so you're pretty much limited by its modest internal memory. You'll often find yourself not wanting to update apps due to a shortage of storage memory. Clean Master is a must for keeping junk (cache) files and RAM memory usage at bay. An external card is however highly recommended for just about everything else, i.e. photo / video / audio storage. That being said, there have been - I shit you not! - COUNTLESS occasions in which this phone made the difference between OH YEAH and bust for me. Got me out of horrible back roads, provided tech info on correctly reassembling an automotive brake pump, crisply tuned my instruments in poor acoustic conditions and so on. Battery lasts just over 24 hours with WiFi, Mobile Data, Screen Rotation, Sync and Sound functions permanently switched on. Turning them off dramatically increases battery life. Photo quality is very good for what it's got. Video quality is quite pleasant too. Use its photo / video capturing abilities for quick snapshots and I-really-need-to-film-this-for-some-reason video recording and you'll be more than satisfied, then come back with your heavier DSLR / dedicated camera if you need a pro shot for the album. In the end, cost and performance considered, it's a budget device and I'd only recommend it as a starter phone for youngsters (they need good eyes for this screen) who haven't had a smartphone before and can't afford spending too much on one. As long as they'll use it primarily as a phone and as an aid for their daily activities (not as a gaming platform), it's gonna be ok. Need some quick directions towards some place? Need a fast translation or want to keep in touch with Facebook friends? It will do that without a problem. Judicious management of your apps is key. Uninstall everything non-essential, this is not a device able to afford luxuries. I now feel that I've outgrown the phone and I need something faster and with a larger display. The Lenovo A536 or Nokia 630 might just be the next natural step.

Agree with previous reviewer, response is a little slow as it's not a high end smartphone. Battery life no worse than any other smartphone. I like Jelly Bean better than Kit Kat as a system. The only true way to preserve battery life on these devices is to switch off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS when not needed. Working quite well on T-Mobile in UK and is managing my usual apps OK. Go Keyboard provides a good alternative to the Samsung keyboard as it has vibration response, and I wish you could customize alerts better but that can be done via a third party messaging app. All in all a decent hand sized phone.

I have this phone and files can be moved to the SD card.go to the file manager and you will see two SD card options.one id SD card 0 and the other is external SD card.sd card 0 is internal phone memory and external SD card is the one you put in the phone.open files on SD card 0 and press and hold on the file you want to move to external SD card.when you press and hold the file you want to move a dialog box will open and o e of the options is move .select it and look on screen and you will see an option sd card 0 or external sd card.select external sd card.look on top right of screen and see move here .it should not be greyed out.select it.you should then see folders on memory card.open folder and select move here from top of screen and file will be moved to memory card. it took me a while to discover this.hope this helps.very good phone small many features and cheap.

I have owned this phone for more than 6 months. The overall performance is average. Nothing is really tempting yet frustrating. I love the simple design, but this phone seems smaller than any other phone with similar specification. The features are good and none of them are troubling. The only flaw is its battery. I have found this phone consumes a lot of juices. And also, this phone can only be charged by its own charger. This slow performances are reasonable since it's cheap.

I'm not sure whether this would help, but try to re-calibrate your battery. First, turn off your phone and fully charge it. Then, remove the battery for about 10 minutes. Put the battery back in - your time and date should reset. Use your phone normally, but let the battery completely drain. After that, you can charge it whenever you want. Again, I'm not sure whether this actually helps, but try it...

yes it does support video call with rear camera,use a mirror and set the rear camera at an angle to the mirror until you can see yourself,i tried and it works,this is a very good pocket rocket,don't mind what people say the screen display is good and once there is a little light when dark one can get a reasonable pic,it might have a single core processor but it workls well in this phone and there are many other features in this model that are not mentioned in reviews and i rooted it and changed the text size so no problem with viewing screen,also good battery life,speaker sounds good also,wifi connected easily to my router and calling is good.compact and many features

you have to clear unwanted app manully by app manager.. disable apps like google play music, play movies,play books. (if you are not using.) uninstall chaton if you are not using it.. disable gmail use email.. you can use gmail account in emai.. little ram saving. & little memory increased.. bcoz chaton always startingg without need.. gmail also same as chat on.. disable all samsung apps if not in use...( samsung apss just crap).

am not using the galaxy young.. but from my experience, remove the most unused apps as the keep taking precious ram every time the phone boots... clearing ram won't solve your laggy experience. just remove some apps as they are most of the time cached in ram...so less apps, the less amount of ram needed to cache them...hope I helped. good luck

Look for unofficial builds of Cyanogenmod or try to find another KK ROM that supports this phone, but I don't think such ROM exists

You all can root this phone in just 10sec.... just downlod framaroot from the playstore and open then select GANDALF . You will see success msg if not then click gandalf again and your phone will be rooted....and awsome app TITANIUM BACKUP PRO.. by that app you can store some your lovely app as a system app. I have clean master, and du battry sver as a system app...(by the paid version)...and my batry bkup is 45 hour maximum and 16 hour minimum. 45 hours bcoz no installed apps(even whatsapp uninstalled,no music playing) using like anold man... so your batry bkup is up to 45hours...(enjoy your phone)

secondly, if u guys think that star pro has 2gb and young has 1.5gb, then remember, its like a truck thats available but with no fuel, and on the other hand uve got a small loader vehicle with plenty of fuel. so its better to go for higher ram, 3g, and better camera than to just stick to internal memory issue. if u know rooting, u can also flash ur internal memory and get 2gb in hand. but its risky.

I just bought this set last night for my sister. well i would say that this is a lag free, and a complete package set that could provide u satisfactory camera, 3g, 768mb ram, n sensors. The only disadvantage of this set is that it comes with preinstalled apps like Google chrome, drop box and game hub. which shinks its 2gb user available memory to 1.5gb. yet i think its not a bad deal coz at this price range there are two other sets star pro and star but they stand nowhere infront of this one. :)

They all have 4GB memory(no such thing as 2 GB in this device). Its just that only 2gb of the 4gb is available for use...the other 2gb is used by the phones operating system :) So you didnt make a bad choice-its just a small memory available to start with.

both young and fame are good handset... fame is bit slower than young.. but I think (not sure) fame is better for normal usage, because it has front camera 5mp camera with flash and most important is that the users of fame didn't complaint about the battery life... . . it depends on your need... I bought galaxy young because it has larger ram of 768 mb.. and larger screen, front camera, flash doesn't matter to me... . . choose according to your requirement and let us know which one you choose. ... waiting. ..

it all depends on how you use the phone... my galaxy young never hanged and never restarted by itself.... may be you have installed lot of apps... use the phone to the level it can be used.... this is all you get for the money you paid.. for example you cannot run a hero honda splendor at the speed of 150 kmph.... know the limits of the phone and don't exhaust it...

pros: 1)huge internal memory for at least 25-30 heavy apps enough for basic users.move to sd card is not allowed because moving apps to sd makes apps slow .some apps show problems when transfered to sd. 2)1ghz is enough for angry birds,temple run ,jetpack joyride,subway and many more favourite apps and these apps run pretty well. 3)extremely cheap compared to htc,iphone and sony cons-1)3mp camera with no flash ( at lest it should be 5 mp and flash included secondary camera doesnt matter) 2)battery life is short if used heavily but quite good(about 1.5 days) if used for only calls and 10-15 mins of net surfing a day

using it since one week. it is not so good and not so bad phone, that means it is an average phone. that means everything is average: the screen the battery etc. if you expect a lot it will definately disappoint you. it does everyday work easily and lasts whole day with average use but finishes in about 3 and a half hour more or less with heavy use. and yes it hangs a lot while playing games. but does its work nicely. if you want a better phone wait and add some more bucks and buy something better with a duAl core or buy this. other phones with that 1ghz single processor would be same. it is all about priorities. sAtisfied with what it delivers.

hi i am using this phone (samsung galaxy young s6310) from last 1 month. phone gets very hot while charging & during web calls. bettry gets low in 6hrs to 8hrs. phone gets hung while using apps or games. tempal rum and racing games hungs alot. its show not reachable or out of reach when i am talking on other sim. so as per my experience its not the best phone in this range. thanks.......

I was in the same confusion before getting this phone.. and I was nokia fan boy... past.. but after evaluating android and windows, I found android too be much much better than windows... windows is a developing platform.. and I agree it is the fastest growing os... and due to this reason good games and apps will be charged with high price... since developers don't work for free... once they complete the target ... the games and apps will be free.. and it will take a long time... cons of windows phone 1- apps and games are costly... 2- background downloading not available... 3- you can download music only from nokia music store or whatever they call it 4- no file manager.. if you take a file from your friend which is not readable with lumia. than the file gets lost in your phone.. it will take memory space but you cannot find it or delete it. 5- restricted os ... pros.... 1- faster and lag free os. 2- better battery life than young. 3- better display. 4- better camera. and android is more flexible os.. lots of apps games... no restictions (rooted) I am very happy with young... coz if am apps lover... . now its upto you... let us know which phone you choose

according to me.. dont buy galaxy s duos.. i have used it ..... it is very slow... lag lag lag.... because it has got 4.0 (ics) which is a bit heavier os than 4.1(jb) its like ics is vista and jb is windows 7.. available ram is also low its 645 mb... available ram in young is 665 mb.. . . if you can really afford s dous. pay 1000 extra and buy galaxy s advance.. . my suggestion either go for young or go for s advance... if you donot play game and want video calling in that price go for s duos......

The fone is awesom.. But having a 665 avail usr ram atmost 85mb is always free. It hangs once a day because of some incompatible apps crashes. Design and touch response is very cool.supports apps like temple run 2,fifa 12_13, Gta, amazing spidrman and etcs... Can store apps upto 1.5gb. Data partition is about 1.4gb and the external memory can be extended to 64gb. Default storage is intrnal sd card nd cannot be changed binding may help.. And the cache memory is about 660 mb.. So no need to wipe cache everyday. Its integrated with only 3 sensor 1>proximity 2)magnectic 3)motion.. Can update apps just with a shake if available.. Battry backup is nt so good but not so bad. If fully charged at 7am goes with 200+ apps running whole day and alarms low battery at 6pm.screen is 3".running android 4.1.2 and has ability to get android 4.3 just released wit nexus7.
