• Hello guys. I have the Samsung Galaxy s7 once i answer a phone call it keeps vibrating until i restart it or shut it down or turn the screen on or take out the sim card.. it's the third silver s7 I've changed and it's the same issue. Any 1 knows what's the problem?

 • you can't install anything unless you upgrade it to latest version of android.. because stock has 2.1 eclair that os is kinda outdated n cannot run apps

 • auto upgrade works only in US for Tmobile customers.. but we can flash custom roms in our galaxy vibrant from xdaforum

 • visit xdaforum n upgrade to kitkat or lollipop.. Even I've been using vibrant since 4 years.. N i upgraded my phone to lollipop it performs very well.. great battery supports all the apps.. but still its not good for gaming but it will fulfill our basic needs

 • can i play clash of clan in samsung vibrant

 • No, that's not a camera. It is simply an LED indicator light.

 • it seem that there is Front Camera is present becoz like that a icon crated on left top Front ,,plzz clearify the matter

 • I have had this phone for about a year now and it is horrible. It always powers down has a low battery life and is slow. I would not recommend one.

 • I've owned this phone for 4 yrs, it has served me well however the gps never worked. Not a big deal as I didn't need it. For the past year it has been wearing out, gmail not updating. Browser not working properly now. Will be retiring it soon and using it as a music player

 • I've been using this phone for sometime and am just loving it most especially it's browsing speed and wat I term it as super authentic camera but my RAM is just 304Mb and it worries me too much especially when I want to play games. Please can anyone give me a solution.

 • Yeah, I had one a few months ago but I sold it. my whole family have S3's and Note, but I enhanced the powerof that phone with cyanogen, and my cellphone could compete against those cellphones :D

 • Hi, Can anybody advise me how to take the full data backup(Contacts, text messages, pics & videos etc.) and load the same in other phone.I have to switch to another android device and want to know how to transfer entire date from vibrant to other device. Thanks.

 • I'm still getting good service from my Vibrant's considering their age and price. I bought them used $200 several yrs. ago. I'm running CM 10.1.1 (4.2.2)vibrantmtd stable with a "BetterKat" dark theme and gapps-jb-2013812. This combo all works flawlessly. I'm contemplating switching to a used GS-3 as I could use the added RAM. I'm vision impaired and use "talk back" with HQ TTV. All the new bloated apps are getting a tad sluggish on the ole' Vib workhorse with the accessibility running in the background. But I'll keep it around for my spare. It was a great purchase! In order for you folks to upgrade your firmware you're going to have do some studying and root your phone, then flash it with the custom ROM of your choice. I'd recommend the CyanogenMod ROMS. A good resource to start woodshedding with would be There is a Vibrant bible on that site also. Say heck no, to the con$umer product treadmill and surveillance bloatware. Peace!

 • You definitely *SHOULD* root your phone and put a custom rom on it. It is *SOOO* worth it, having the latest Google OS on your phone, like 4.2.2 via Xylon rom from Nelson Giordano from Team Passion on Facebook. Your phone will wake you up in the middle of the night to kiss you and tell you "thank you! Thank you for freeing me of the Slavery of Samsung!" :D I have had mine rooted for a year and I love it and the freedom it gives me.

 • is it android?

 • IT doesnt have a front facing Camera... He probably meant the Samsung Galaxy S 4G

 • Gorillagadets.com......purchase 3500mah battery last way longer....adds weight to phone feels more like droid that you not gonna drop

 • Yes, it supports video call. That's why it has a front camera

 • My friend gave me this phone since I needed a new one. Its great! I recommend that you root it and flash a custom ROM on it to make it even more worthwhile.

 • this phone i like it a lot. i upgrade mine to android 4.1 hellybean... works super great...

 • yes you can use skype with this phone

 • please elaborate on the 4.12 upgrade on samsung vibrante

 • The specs on this phone are so similar to the Sidekick 4G. I am thinking of using parts of the Cyanogen 6.2 rom of this phone to create a custom Froyo rom for the Sidekick over at xda. It will be my first attempt...crossing my fingers.

 • Does anyone know if you can use Skype on this phone if so dose can u use video calling?

 • I'm running 4.1.2 on SGH-T959 the difference is amazing. In order to do this, you will need to root your phone using heimdall and clockworkmod and install a ROM like Cyanogenmod 10. Best of luck!

 • um the vibrant and i9000 are not the same they are two different models

 • They are different. The 1st version do not have front camera, only the second does which few people have. It also do not have physical home button, but capacitive buttons. It is locked to T-Mobile while the i9000 is unlocked and only work with ATT 3G, but not T-Mo 3G.

 • no it does not.

 • The Samsung Galaxy Vibrant and the i9000 are the same thing.

 • the samsung galaxy vibrant does have fm radio AND it has a camera on both sides. I know because I own one.

 • Nope, vibrant is more durable and it's a samsung, the #1 android phone manufacturer. As for making the battery last longer, turn off your data when you don't need it. My battery can go 8 hours or more.

 • sony ericsson live with walkman is best...

 • You may install some custom roms if you have already rooted the phone. Plus uninstall some useless system programs which keep on running in the background. And don't use task killers... They only make the scenario worst.

 • is there a way of prolonging battery life? pls tell me.

 • I installed ICS 4.0.3, and it's working great. Here is the link:

 • There is CM7 for Vibrant which is gingerbread. They just started nightlies again after fixing the e911 bug.

 • I upgraded my Vibrant to FROYO and Uninstalled all T-Mobile Apps, It's running super Fast... Just love my Awesome Phone! Roms are Very Bad Always Phone Crashes!

 • no 2.3 do your research before misguiding ppl nickmcminn60

 • 2.3 is available for this model?

 • go to settings .... there see about phone.... go there n open software upgrrade.. and done ;-)

 • This phone is so brilliant, kudos to all the developers who makes this phone more super butter smooth. Just love & can't resist this phone!

 • cyanogen mod is really bad on vibrant ... i dont recommend to install it .. (it has a lot of glitches like unwanted reboots when charging , bad battery back-up , sometime freezes in calls and others) but its really fast .... stock froyo 2.2 is not so bad ... but ics 4.0 alpha is too dangerous

 • I want to Upgrade it to 2.2 Froyo! Can anyone Gide me...Waiting Thanks!

 • before you upgrade to froyo 2.2 you should do a master reset first by going to settings/privacy and under personal data click on factory reset. This removes unwanted junk from your phone, then you can download samsung kies from and upgrade your phone using samsung kies. once the upgrade is done, your phone will boot up. let it sit for 15 minutes to allow it to work on the settings. 15 minutes after you are good to go. I usually download super one click from to root the phone. Once the phone is rooted, go to the market from your phone and download a free version of titanum back-up. From the titanum back-up program uninstall all T-Mobile products installed on your phone and other programs you would not be using. Once you are done. go to settings/application and uninstall titanum back-up. Restart your phone, then go to settings/privacy and under personal data click on factory reset. Your phone will then restart. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then set it up after. You should see your phone work perfectly. Please do not listen to people telling you to install modified Rom on your phone. I have tried all types of Rom and they all have flaws. A good Example is CM7 or Cyanogen MOD. This Rom is nice but none of their developers have a Vibrant phone. GPS does not work. It will just keep crashing your phone when trying to use GPS. Now if you have to go back to the stock version you will end up doing multiple research on it because the drivers on your PC will no longer work on this upgrade since it will be using Nexus Gingerbread. I hope this helps.

 • please study English before writing of something stupid (reply to mafaz) .. still no Gingerbread .. T-Mobile and Samsung we are very disappointed !!!!

 • sry for my poor english.. i updated my vibrant to 2.2v..but it is working too slow...wat to do?pls tell me a solution..

 • Vibrant + ics = awesomeness..... Love my vibrant

 • by rooting it and installing a custom rom such as cyanogenmod go to xda developers for more information

 • No u can not ... kies mini works everywhere and if youre in Serbia that doesnt matter .. the update wasnt released yet .. and probably the it wont happen ... thats dissapointing .. but the good news are that vibrant was ported to gingerbread so you can easily root your phone and update it to 2.3.7 (MIUI) , 2.3.3 (CyanogenMod)

 • sorry for my eng. is posible to update 2.3(when comes) if l use this phone in serbia(europe)?

 • it says my phone is up to date ... that samsung kies mini ... but still there is no 2.3 .. so t-mobile that will be very disappointing if we wont get the gingerbread update until 2012... so froyo 2.2 UBK5 is the last one really ??

 • Hey guys how can I upgrade to 2.3? Is it possible?

 • its sadly... galaxy S will get 2.3 in the most countries. And in US (the upgrade is ready done but not released) not :/ t-mobile is the new s...

 • I hate how Samsung only released like one update on this phone. This phone is so buggy and at times. I liked this fone but y not have an update? I will get an iphone now since apple will update the OS. The iphone 3gs which came out 2 years ago has apples most recent update ios5 while my vibrant came out last year n only has 2 1

 • but still proper update for gingerbread dint come even from the unofficial sites to root the phone.

 • That is the Android 2.2 only.I checked with Kies mini.Still 2.3 didnt come for vibrant. Check it out properly.

 • The vibrant will never see another official update. If you want gingerbread you will have to root your phone.

 • To all those wondering how to upgrade, downlaod samsung kies, and connect your phone, and it should prompt you to download 2.3!

 • How did you upgrade? Please help

 • Hey guys do anyone have an idea when we will get the gingerbread for vibrant.

 • how did u upgrade?

 • how? i also wanna upgrade.. how did u do it?

 • The battery life suck in this phone everyday I have to charge it come on people you can do better than this. Size does not matter when you have to do this!!!

 • Running 2.3.7 Love my phone... fast... fun.... Vibrant!

 • Get MIUI! it is based on Gingerbread and extremely fast. I never use the official ROMs. They suck.

 • Loved the phone when I got it now can't wait to dump it and move on to an iphone. Battery life sucks compared to my daughter's iphone..Camera often freezes and has no flash. Waited forever for 2.2 upgrade and still waiting for 2.3 upgrade. I was a big fan of android having bought the g1 the day it came out. However the samsung vibrant does not compare to the iphone. The phone is too unreliable with constand crashes and no battery life. Stay away from Samsung.

 • when is the android 2.3 gingerbread update going to be available for this phone? froyo sucks. gingerbread has already been released for canada, uk, and other places but america not yet... I think. if anyone knows about how or when please reply.

 • to get the 3g network, the phone's 3g frequency has to match with the network's 3g frequency. example here in the U.S., t-mobile's 3g frequency is 1700mhz and this phone's 3g frequency supports 1799mhz, therefore, it's compatible.

 • Use minikies samsung software to upgrade a froyo 2.2, search on google... :)

 • hey...i bought my new samsung galaxy vibrant n i want to upgrade it to gingerbread from eclair, anyone plz tell me tht how can i do this plz reply fastplz

 • Anyone know if I can put a 16 gig sdhc card in the T959?

 • Is this a GSM quadband phone?

 • I have tried most apps that say it can save as much as 50% battery. The one sure way I have had success is to turn off your wifi, Bluetooth, and GPS when you don't need then. After I programmed my phone to turn off all three at the same time my battery actually lasted 3 days. And that's with making and receiveing calls as well as useing wifi and GPS. I rarely use Bluetooth. Hope this helps.

 • The Vibrant is by far a very thought out phone. Out of the box, performance I would give a 9. Why not a 10? Because once you start loading with apps and games this phone's performance drops about 30%. You can however reconfigure memory to beef up speed. The one I use works very well. Style and screen is superb. The one thing I didn't like about this phone is you can not upgrade to G4. In fact if they would have waited a few more months, then anybody purchasing this phone would have G4. My opinion, they did this on purpose. All in all a very nice phone except the price. My opinion it was $100.00 more then it should be. One more thing, they should offer owners to upgrade to G4 at there local repair store.

 • yes u did get tricked. hhahaha sorry dude

 • Tricked? by now there are about 4000 reviews of all galaxy S around, you should know that there are at least 5 different Galaxy S's and they are by now CHEAP.. if you paid over 350 for it you paid too much, and yes the os can be upgraded but I wouldn't recommend YOU to upgrade it because you don't seem to be a resourcefull person you are gonna end up with $630 brick..

 • Guys, the shop who sold this to me has tricked me, i actually wanted to buy the Galaxy S aka I9000. Also i paid $630 for it. Where as i found out the Galaxy S is about $430. Can someone help me out. I think both these phones are same ? So there should not be a such big gap in the price. Also can i know whether the android OS can be upgraded ?

 • can any one tel me how to increase the battery......im only getting disappointed wid d batter..rest of all its awesome...camera clarity excellent....plz help me

 • Great phone BY Far ! ! ! pros: great vibrant screen great touch sensitivity great video/pic cons: speakers not as good no hd output battery

 • Samsung Galaxy S vibrant is unbelievable,! Confusing and not a friendly user type of fone! my regret of having this fone!

 • best phone ever

 • This is my first Samsung phone and so far I'm not impressed. Between having to do frequent battery pull resets due to freezing up and samsungs serious lack of making any serious attempts to keep the os up to date I think this will be the only Samsung phone I purchase. Just my two cents.

 • I heard T-Mobile will be rolling out Gingerbread update for Samsung Vibrant (T959) by June; I'm not certain about the date yet.....

 • Samsung has made like 5 similar galaxy models...they look the same...but theres is nonow which will have everything in it....with vibrant they havent give front camera...flash and FM radio...looks like they did it on purpose...this fone ranges about $ 400...and it doesnt have these basics functions like radio and flash....

 • The only 2 things I did not like about the phone was no LED flash and no front facing camera. Everything else was great.

 • Use Odin3, thats what i use to get back to my stock 2.1 after i upgraded to 2.2 make sure you have the original 2.1 Vibrant firmware to flash it with

 • hi, anyone knows how to flash the current 2.2 froyo back to 2.1 eclair or to froyo custom firmware? I tried Odin software, but it only supports galaxy i9000 not the vibrant. thank you in advance

 • I just got my vibrant. It came with eclair but i upgraded it with froyo. Running very smoothly. Under mid range use (internet/videos/apps/music) & brightness level to 40% the battery gives 12hours+. Not too bad. Some of you may face the gps problem but don't worry it's a bug which google didnt work out while they updated 2.2. I fixed it by restoring to the factory settings couple of times after the upgrade. Overall it's a pretty cool phone.

 • Anyone know when they'll be an upgrade for Vibrant to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread); cos I can't stand the wait...

 • wich one is the best Vibrant or Galaxy s i9000 ??

 • i use ipod headphones for mine. it works fine

 • what does i phone 4 have over the vibrant - simple , a flasher for the camera / in many other ways i phone 4 gets pawned by vibrant - specially by the 4 inch super amo led display , i phone 4 display is good technology but its still a lcd panel . application , games wise both phones are the same .

 • vibrant or iphone 4 ?!

 • LOL..... Yeah!

 • Best phone...

 • actually your mistaken the Kies Mini software supports windows 7 and i updated my phone to 2.2 via the usb cable using windows 7 and k. mini software . i never had any problem doing that .

 • You can listen to the radio by downloading an app in the market call tunein radio

 • I think the 2.2 froyo on this phone its a peace of sh!t! Slow and laggy than 2.1 eclair

 • Great phone, lags a bit after using for a while and gets super hot when charging. The 3.5mm headphone jack is proprietary, it only accepts MOBILE headphones made by samsung! It's designed to be used as a tv out jack and since most headphones aren't compatible with that only regular (non-microphone) and samsung made mobile headsets will work with the galaxy.

 • in order to increase battery life. turn off 3g in your settings or get APNdroid on the market

 • The phone does not have a radio, but can an (radio)apps from the android market work on it?

 • Yeah this is true you, but it works just in Xp..

 • This phone is too good with great display, sleek design and fast speed.

 • Hi im presently in US i would like to buy this mobile and use in india. may i know how i can get this mobile & unlock? And i would be in US for few weeks. Your suggestions helps me.

 • attention!!! don't update to 2.2 through kies..........it's freaking laggy and slow!!!! stick with 2.1 if you can. it's better

 • Phone can be upgraded to Froyo 2.2 via Kies Mini, downloadable from your original phone provider. Unlocking depends on provider, but should be available.

 • though its a nice phone bt can any one guide the idea abt updrading the software or not?

 • hi guys, i m planning to buy vibrant from US and use it india. can i unlock this phone and use it in india??? n if i unlock this phone can i update it to 2.2 froyo and use all the apps??? pls reply.. i m in a big dilemma..

 • It's over the best. I love this stuff. EVERYTHING is excellent. No complain.

 • Can this phone be upgraded to froyo 2.2..bcoz it doesnt give the options in specifications??

 • Best phone EVER. And I've owned many, from iPhones to BB passing by Nokia and Motorola. All crap when put against this device, both hardware and software are amazing if only Samsung's support was better yet still great phone and the custom ROMs are always there. Oh and gsmarena; you should list that this phone comes with eclair yet upgradeable to Froyo. Hell, the new ones already have that pre-installed.

 • Nope, GPS Fix is it's real name but it does shit to fix the problem anyway as it's a hardware one in most cases.

 • Hi, I can not finde the "gps repair" app on the market. Is this is it's real name?

 • how can it be faster? it's slower and laggy than version 2.1!!

 • no radio ...........

 • Go to the market and down load the gps repair app from samsung. It fixed my gps problems. Good luck.

 • Can you lock this phone so that no one can pick it up and start scrolling through it??

 • Hi, I am from Indonesia. I am using vibrant please help me how to unlock my vibrant tanks

 • Is there any reason that not only samsung vibrant but also max 4 inch samsung high class phone has no led flash though having 5 mp camera???

 • yes u can use this phone in India... I'm using it now.... but u have to unlock it..... n all apps, except T-Mobile apps, will work.....

 • ......How come i cant get the GPS locked on with google map and Copilot NAVI?????? Is this hardware problem?

 • .....just updated to 2.2 froyo through samsung kies..... .....it's slower and lagging than the 2.1 eclair!!!!!!!!!! what the f*ck!!!!!!

 • Where i can upgrade to 2.2?

 • I was about to get rid of this phone because of poor battery performance but then I heard about Foryo 2.2. I've started loving my phone since I've upgraded it's firmware to Foryo. No more battery problem now and phone responds really really fast.. apart from GPS, well I'm sure that's hardware problem.

 • your opinion about Samsung Vibrant in price

 • good phone

 • why this phone eat BATTERY a lot?i can Stand-by only 16 hour with a full battery.

 • Hi folks, I am brazilian and vibrant is great. Amazon kindle, Avatar, the Sims 3, everything else running fast. Using in Joinville - Santa Catarina - Brazil with a TIM GSM CHIP

 • Can I use it in South asia? If I use a software unlocked Vibrant in lets say India, what might be the problems I can face? I mean all features like gprs, android market etc will work properly?

 • can i buy in taiwan???

 • Can I use this phone with prepaid T-mobile plan?

 • Can i use it in germany

 • what is the cost of the phone in mumbai, india?

 • As a DISH Network employee I have had access to our TV Everywhere option for a few months now, and I have to say it is probably the coolest thing I have seen since DISH launched software to integrate our receivers with Google TV. It makes my Vibrant so much better by being able to watch my live TV or DVR recordings on my phone from wherever I'm at. The large screen on my Vibrant is perfect for watching a TV show or movie. And with no additional monthly fee I have to say, I love it.

 • This phone overall is really sweet. The Swype feature for text entry is an awesome feature and the ability to use it as a mobile access point for other wireless devices is great to. However the sync feature for my Windows Live cotacts does not work properly as some contacts have misssing info. I've also had lots of trouble with using voice commands through my BlueAnt T1 bluetooth headset which works flawlessly on my LG Rumour.

 • whats about entertainment tools like copy of Superhit movie Avtar that ia available in samsung vibrant... is this available or not

 • Is this mobile available in India(Chennai)?

 • go to settings, wireless, then select mobile AP, enable.

 • anyone..... know how to use this phone as a WIFI transmiter, so you can connect your computer to the internet wirelesly?????? i am using "easytether Pro" apps to connect my laptop with the phone's internet by the USB cable. Is there a way to use the phone's internet with the laptop wirelessly? any advice would be great.

 • Actually the update did fix the gps in my vibrant but it doesn't work as good as my cousin htc 3g slide, maybe hardware? We finally receiving our promise froyo update but very late in the game! This update better make the software smoother because my vibrant is laggy still fora 1gh phone.

 • What is MRP....

 • Could be very good phone phone but broken GPS, missing Froyo in 2010, and lack of support from Samsung make this phone a complete failure. JI6 update, released to fix GPS - another failure. GPS Restore by Samsung blaming consumers for broken GPS while not fixing anything and broken by itself - yet another failure. Missing, but promised by the end of 2010, Froyo update - lies and failure again.

 • hello how much Vibrant ROM?

 • Hello How much Rom Vibrant mobile?

 • Cannot sync phone with new Audi. Any comments?

 • There is, an there are roms whit froyo that work 5x time faster than official roms

 • finding out how bad samsung is at updates... Reading tones of posts how this is a recurring problem with samsung. Will not buy samsung again - switching to HTC

 • Shankar its not for India.....in India international version is available Galaxy I9000 which has front facing cam for video calling

 • There is still no fireware update to Froyo?

 • Why there is no Video call option. Dont samsung guys aware that Video call is now very cheap in India???

 • I can confirm that after unlocking, this phone will operate on the 1900 3G band.

 • How is this model different from Galaxy I9000? Can someone give ur opinion?

 • there are many 2.2 custom roms that are easy to install and better than stock. Nero v3 is a beast :u the hardware with the 2.2 software makes this the shit. screw samsung for dicking us on the updates, but thank the devs at xda who are better anyways :u

 • That's right, as per Samsung, us Samsung Vibrant owners in the US are NOT getting Froyo 2.2 or any other upgrade on this phone for that matter. After going through about 3 levels of Support/Technical Support, a high-level manager told me that this simply isn't coming. The problem is the integration with the Samsung user interface customizations. Without the update to Froyo, many apps don't work/are simply unavailable. The update exists in other countries, however, Samsung is blocking the IMEI in these phones and preventing an update.

 • Thin, plasticky, very light, but flimsy feeling and the battery life is absolutely atrocious. This thing is on its way back to T-Mobile.

 • Yes I am in Canada using virgin mobile and just upgraded to android 2.2 through the program called kies. You will need to download that from the samsung.com website.

 • Just a warning for all you out there the 2.2 upgrade will break your phone, be careful.

 • Yes you can. Though I wouldnt recomend I had it on my phone for a day or 2, Then it powered down and became unresponsive dont do it.

 • Can Vibrant upgrade to 2.2(froyo) and 2.3?

 • Because the vibrant comes with the T-mobile service... and the sgs i9000 its like an free or unlocked galaxy s phone

 • does this phone have an FM transmitter to be able to stream music and then listen to it using an FM stereo on a car for example

 • can you not write bs symbian 3 is not better than andriod. its decent but web browsing and texting is still horrible.

 • roms are here:

 • Where can I find detailed instructions for ROM flashing? Thank you!

 • Only worth it if you're gonna root and put a custom rom. Battery significantly improves afters custom rom and so does speed. Can even be over clocked.

 • I am using samsung wave S8500 and not having good battery backup only 1&half day. Can u recommend me some tips.

 • There are many other things apart from watching videos on flash. There are tons of application written on flash UI which can work if flash is supported.

 • i have this phone also. i have 10 pages of apps. the battery life is good. you have bad apps that are killing YOUR battery. please evaluate yuor own device before writing a bad review on one of the best phones out right now.

 • Battery time is indeed very poor. Tends to hang/act sluggish if many applications are installed. Extended fat battery available on eBay is recommended, but it will make your phone thicker.

 • i have this phone ..... for now officially i think it's still eclair 2.1 using kies mini (not regular kies) but there are plenty of 2.2 froyo customized or stock froyo roms available ..... just head over to xda.com

 • Hi to all... Have simple question, i have Samsung Galaxy S, two days ago upgrade it to Froyo 2.2.1 via odin program. My fried bought Vibran. How do you thik can he upgrade to 2.2.1 too?

 • you sound dumb. what does flash player allow you to do besides watch videos online - nothing. opera mobile offers flash player automatically.

 • HTC DESIRE HD is much better than galaxy I9000 OR VIBRANT.I have used Galaxy I9000.The basic problem of galaxy is GPS and MAPS.GPS and MAPS are not working in Galaxy S.its firmware problem.Didn't show ur location.Battery timings too low.Other problem is that u can't receive any update from firmware over the air.u need to attach ur device from computer with the help of mini kies and its painful activity but can update ur phone on 2.2 Froyo.MMS not activated in this device, u can use only one service, wap or mms.but graphics r too good i agree. Now i purchased new HTC DESIRE HD.its excellent mobile.there is no issue of GPS a lots of features than iphone, galaxy and xperia, bodywise excellent, battery timings too good.If u r planning to buy expensive mobile.then i will suggest that u just buy HTC DESIRE HD not HTC DESRIRE HD 7 window mobile,IPHONE,XPERIA or Galaxy.Bcz HTC Desire HD 7 is just a window mobile.battery is too weak just working 10 hours.Anroid is the future and remeber window mobile is not the future. The Desire HD, the chassis is made of aluminium and sports four virtual navigation keys instead of the HD7s three. Theres also no kickstand present, but this shouldnt really bother too many users. The Desire HD uses a Super LCD display and the HD7 uses an LCD one. Super LCD is a lot better than normal LCD. Why? Simple: Super LCD has about five times better power management than earlier versions of the technology and has vastly improved viewing angles, meaning theres less colour degradation when you view the screen from anything but straight on. Couple this with the fact that theres less colour saturation on Super LCD than AMOLED and youre on to a winner. U can receive any update from firmware over the air on HTC DESIRE HD.so i will suggest u should get this device..

 • y the vibrant and SGSI9000 differ in their price?

 • It can be upgraded to Android 2.2 through samsung Kies software availble on the website.

 • as of now you can run froyo on it and it's pretty smooth .... but not officially i think. you'll need to be "rooted" and flash it using clockwork mod recovery or Odin

 • i think it anosome

 • Dear Anonymous from Nokia forum. Thanks for taking your time to post about Nokia N8. Talking about crap :)) check out this link If you want your phone to die unexpectedly and you like visiting service centers - buy Nokia N8. Nokia used to make good reliable phones. Not a case anymore. What a shame that Nokia has such crappy Qality control. They also are lagging at least a year in terms of user interface. No more Nokia for me (my last phone was Nokia). BTW, I'm pretty happy with Galaxy S.

 • is this phone can be upgrade to android version 2.2 and 2.3?please answer?i want to buy this phone

 • without flash,bad,bad,bad

 • It has triangulation model of locating.... not live navigator.

 • I came here from the Nokia forums of gsmarena and I would like you guys to consider buying the Nokia N8 instead of this crap with terrible lag and gps issues. If you guys have any doubts about the Galaxy S please take your time and get to know the wonderful phone that is the N8. IMO, it is way better than this Vibrant and it doesn't have gps issues or lags. Best of all, it's running symbian 3 which is better than android.

 • Yes

 • if i buy the phone outside US,ang get it unlocked...will i be able to update it to froyo???

 • will froyo update on vibrant solve the gps issue???can anyone confirm that pls??

 • According to Samsung the Froyo update will be in the hands of all carriers for all Galaxy S phones by the end of November so that would include the Vibrant it's just up to T-Mobile to get the update out to the phones

 • do you have the satellite icon turn on??

 • Have had the vibrant now for 3 months. While T-Mobile customer service is the best around, its data service coverage and reach doesn't compare to ATT or Verizon. Shame too because this is a great phone. I haven't had any lag, freeze or NAV issues that others are talking about (but my phone came with NETWORKS location disabled which I re-enabled with no issues). The only thing I don't like is the constant lack of 3g service in my area, and also on vacation in a hotel in Philadelphia Center City. When it works with full 3-g or wifi, it's blazing fast. I wanted to drop TMO and switch to ATT, and TMO even gave me the unlock code, however, ATT sales just told me they won't give me a data plan larger than 2 gigs. As a constant YouTube user, and streaming video for my languages lessons, I typically use 2.5-3 gigs monthly (also tether to my laptop now and then when I'm on call at work). TMO simply needs to improve their service coverage areas, then they could take over. They have the hardware and "unlimited" (5 gig) plans people want.

 • will the vibrant get froyo update also???or is it just for galaxy s???

 • H..E..L..P!!! I can't get the "my location" locked on with Google Map!!! Any ideas? thanks

 • Root it, install a different rom and it'll be fix

 • my opinion vibrant is excellent

 • Why would you want this phone? It still has GPS problem and lag issues.

 • does this phone support Divx video support.

 • Hi All, Iam planning to buy Samsung Vibrant.. can anybody tell me howz the phone is?? How is the performance of this phone?? What is the price of this pjone n how about its features performance like GMail, facebook etc.. Please suggest me in this regards so that i can buy this mobile. waiting for reply. send reply ASAP. Sri....

 • Can you install ebuddy messenger and snaptu in this phone?

 • I have had this phone for about 3 months now. At first I was blown away by the phone's features and screen. But over time, I have been noticing....bugs.... LOTS OF BUGS! First off, when someone sends me a text message. On the top left side of the screen, you notice a small envolop. But when you select it it will have the name of one of the people on my contact list. But when you finally check the message, it will be from someone else! There are other bugs I can write about, but I just can't remember them right now. But when I do, I will post it.

 • I love my vibrant except I just found out I can't download skype on it and I don't like that I have to constantly press the on and off button on the side of the phone to turn the screen on.

 • good for business a plus

 • unlock code for what ???

 • currently one of the best phones out...if not the best phone out.

 • Go in the android market, look samsung galaxy s there is an app that gives u the unlock code

 • I have always hated smart phones cause it was just too complicated and I dont have time to figure out a phone. Got the new vibrant and I couldn't be happier it is the best and easiest phone to figure out. It's totally awesome must have!!!!

 • can anyone advice me... i am thinking about samsung vibrant or my touch 4g. what phone is better for bussines use?

 • I used this software on my Samsung Vibrant nd it works pretty good with no problem

 • I try to tether using samsung keis software, but the software said cant recognize device, and not supported. Need help, another successful using the wifi tethering? Thanks Phil

 • yes it does

 • this is an iphone killer for sure. if you know what you are doing modding the phone is real ez. once you get root you can do anything. the specs on the phone are unbelievable. this phone deserves a medal. if your looking for a new phone this is the one to get.

 • so...anybody knows whenskype.will available for samsung vibrant on tmobile or an update with froyo 2.2 will solve the problem...?anyone know?

 • One last thing on the specs, this phone has a PowerVR GPU in addition to the Hummingbird processor, so it will kick the butt of many if not all other smartphones out there when processing 3D imaging (Live wallpapers, games, effects...) and video.

 • One word of advice for would-be buyers: If you will only navigate with maps and such you'll be cool but if you need great GPS precision, you won't get it on this device, at least not until the Froyo update that we are hoping will fix this. I used my Bold 9000 and HTC Aria before to track my running workouts and they worked great, but with a precision of 12Mts it is simply useless for this.

 • Search the market for "vibrant unlock" and get the app. If it doesn't work, check on xda-developers.com on the Vibrant section for the other (more difficult) free option that I had to use OR you could just buy an unlock code online for $35

 • Yes it have

 • pls does anyone know how to unlock the samsung vibrant?? i need to do this fast ppllssssssss

 • Does anyone know when uts gonna be available froyo fro vibrant or skype for vibrant?

 • Does it have fm radio?

 • To the individual in australia. On my vibrant, i had to make sure all my mms recipients had their contact number set to mobile. Otherwise, i could not send txt msgs.

 • Yes u can use this mobile anywhere in the world....

 • hey can it be used in India???

 • Hiya, i LOVE LOVE LOVE my vibrant, its soo good...but i bought mine from the US via ebay, im in australia and ive configured all the settings to the ones given to me by my network. Everythings working fine but i cannot send or recieve MMS...anyone got any ideas?? help would be awsome! =]...other than that slight glitch, this phone is definatly a winner, in my oppinion, far better than iphone ^^

 • Hello I m from pakistan. All the android phones by default, u can use 1 service. If u r using Internet then u can't use the service of MMS.and if u use da servide of mms then u can't browsing.I have vibrant phone too. Here in paksitan i can use internet...Not a mms.

 • Its really a nice phone,i luv everytin abt it.It has alot of app & is fast.

 • No.Only work in china..iPhone will work in india ! END

 • Where're u buy that device ? sent back to them for warranty ! defective ram memory,i has same problem !

 • all phone company comes with some crap preloaded jack. dont u know that

 • no i have no problem like that i think its where u live, thats the problem

 • I have far better reception with my vibrant than my iphone... as for a replacement unit.

 • Hi Everyone, My Vibrant signal reception is poor. Phone talks always cut while on conversation. Anyone have the same problem? Can help? Thanks

 • I have both a 3G iPhone and a Samsung Vibrant; the Vibrant is, hands down, the better phone. The screen resolution is far better than the iPhone. It is lighter, and has a 'swipe' keyboard. The Vibrant can also be used with Wind Mobile; the iPhone cannot. While both phones are lovely pieces of technology, I think the Samsung definitely has the edge on the 3G iPhone

 • Choosing isn't that hard, they are quite similar to each other. The i9000 galaxy s has better battery, but vibrant has 16gb + 2gb out of the box, more capacitive buttons, and some t-mobile crap preloaded. It also comes with the sims 3 game preloaded if it interests you

 • The Vibrant has Android so make sure the i9000 has equal competition.

 • Hi! Got edge/gprs already. my data wasn't activated.

 • hi!just bought this phone unlocked, everything is fine however gprs/edge doesn't work. i have data on my older phone and im using the same sim. i have already configured the apn settings, still nothing. Is it because of the phone because it's from t-mobile? help! thank you!

 • I think as long as the phone is unlock, I think you will be fine usin the phone in cambodia. I am having a hard time decide to purchase samsung i9000 or this t mobile version....

 • Yes I know what you mean, and its actually not a problem. The thing is that andoid 2.1 only allows a maximum of 300-something of ram, but once your phone is running android 2.2, you will have all 500mb ram at your disposal. For being an american, your english is kinda lame

 • I thought the Vibrant worked on the 4G network, 14.4mbps? Can anyone clear this up?

 • type in vibrant xda in your google search box. I have different Rom and I get GPS lock in about 5 secs. Oh did I also tell you about battery reconditioning? All day use and still got about 60% at 5 pm. That's the beauty of android phone.

 • Can anyone tell me where I fan get this "GPS Fix"? Phone is great but I can't get a gps lock anywhere, and maps freezes after a while... Only while I have gps on though, a-gps about freeze the phone, but it is the most inaccurate thing ever!

 • I second that

 • My friend's wife got the update for the software and gps fix but where the hell is mines?

 • Errr..Premium luxury sports cars vs. eco box in the '80 lol

 • yep you are absolutely correct! DivX support movies better than H264 or mp4 on icra.

 • lol, sounded like cops pointing guns at you, lol. Just kidding but no clues here, maybe re-install the app will fix.

 • A secret: I just rooted the Vibrant last weekend and installed one click lag free and VOILA, GPS lock is within seconds via 3G, compass works like a champ, fast and dead accurate (compared to a watch compass) with a very nice app compass in 3D (can view even the phone is vertical or flat horizontal ;) I am SOOOOO HAPPY with the 2.1 Eclair now even don't want to think of the upcoming Froyo). Battery life is GREAT now! WHOOHOO..

 • Looks like Vibrant has no FM whatsoever.

 • compared to old Nokia 5800. Galaxy S can't get a GPS fix in downtown Amsterdam (GPS only, no A-GPS), yet Nokia has no problems. Too bad that this Samsung has nearly useless GPS.

 • i tested with a x10. both using tmobile 3G and both phone just restarted. so the GPS is starting from cold start. the destination is 5 mins away from my location by car. the x10 can find my location and is nevigating already within 1 minute. but the vibrant still cant find my location even i reach my destination... the maps loaded out but it just keep searching for GPS singnal. whats up with that??

 • u run to much file. software or u run some thing at same time so when u turn on gps that y it freeze.

 • oh..it so easy ..it might storage some file it in there memories.

 • I Love Mine! Haven't tried GPS but this phone is a keeper. Wow!

 • Maybe the GPS can't find you! :P

 • 16gb is your sdcard, not system memory...

 • you need to contact your line provider.

 • hmm it is a good mobile or bad because i have decided to take it so tell me plz

 • Hi every one I m fahad I m having a problem with the phone I m using vibrant from bell canada it looks like same as galaxy s accept having 16 gb memory but problem is that the system memory my phone is showing is 325mb but I think it should be 512mb can anyone solve my prob I'll be very thankful

 • my phone samsung it is saddnly stopped just appear in the screen tow woards {VIBRANT,SAMSUNG

 • why everytime i turn on the GPS and when i press the locate me icon in google maps my vibrant freeze??

 • "R" above any bars on most phones indicates Roaming.

 • maybe your using roaming sim card

 • I have a Question, i've just baught my vibrant a week ago, and i unlock it for ooverseas use, but iam conerned abt the wifi connection. even when there is wirless network and it shows that it is already conneccted and there is a signal but it doesn't log on to any web page. and keep telling me that error connection and page cannot found however if i reset the phone it works for a while and then turn back again to face the same problem. Does anyone can help me with this major issue cause i really love the phone and i want it to work properly????

 • Hi all, I would like to ask, if Samsung Vibrant has a stereo FM, cause Samsung Galaxy S is only mono FM. Thank you in advance!

 • You need to flash MobileAP available @ XDA developers.

 • This phone looks pretty amazing :)

 • how can i use the wifi tethering?? where is the option to start up this program?

 • The Vibrant--definately. Right now with t-mobile, if you buy one, you get another free. AND it comes with Avatar pre-loaded(for free) it comes with a specially made Sims game made just for it, Kindle, MobiTV free for a month and much more. Its the same phone, but t-mobile gives you alot more stuff free.

 • The vibrant is a gsm phone; which can be unlocked and used some where else. while the fascinate is a cdma; only can be use on verizon, metro pcs or sprint. Its a good phone but i feel like touch wiz (what ever they call it) holds the phone back.

 • luv it the only thing with it is it don't have flash player tryin to get but no luck and the battery life is not tht great. Waiting to see the new 2.2 software but they are taking for ever. But over all I like it oh an its light great for watchin movies.

 • this mobile is the best but i dont kow which one to chose vibrant or fascinate i like both of them but i dont know which one to chose can u tell me which one to chose

 • i am from india.i just want to ask one thing--> will this phone work in india or is this phone present in india ???????????????????????? anyone pls reply .i want to buy a phone and i love this phone ,please tell me if it is available in india or not..................

 • I have never written any review for anything, but I love this phone so much that I will spend the time to do it. I see many postings complained about no flash so I just have to say something.... this phone has night mode that makes flash needless. I took pictures indoor with just a 50 watt lamp at night and I can see the entire room just like daylight. You just need to adjust the settings. I have this phone sine July this year, it's fantastic !!. All my friends who have iPhone 3 and 4 now can't wait to renew their contracts and switch to this phone. I see them charging their phones at work, in restaurants and at airports. Their phones can't even last a day after 3 months old. But I simply turn off GPS and G3 when not necessary, and my charge lasts more than 2 days on average while using the phone about the same amount compared to their iPhone and Google phone. The features in this phone is just amazing and so much better than any other phones. The receiption is great too. Try saying that loud in front of an iPhone 4 user. I love my Vibrant.

 • the best gsm phone but it lacks flash n thats messed up

 • I see "R" on top of wireless signal bars, what does this mean???? Thanks!

 • how can i use the wifi tethering?? where is the option to start up this program?

 • guys i noticed that this viibrant has li ion battery while the other galaxy s and captivate etc have li po. they are also listed as having longer duration. can i use a galaxy s battery on ?the vibrant

 • plz any body help us gps update through kies wire where can i download kies and what tips to download in mobile new update

 • can the usb be used as an output to an HD TV or some other device, or is it just an IN cable?

 • the FM radio is the slacker radio app thats on the phone - sorta another version of pandora radio - but thats what they have classified for the FM radio....as far as tethering, the phone needs an app from the market then it needs to be flashed....and it actually gives off decent web speeds when you tether it to a laptop

 • how can i use the wifi tethering?? where is the option to start up this program?

 • No front facing camera.

 • absolutely right - seems to be no front facing camera, neither an FM radio.

 • The perfect phone. Period. The vibrant makes the iPhone 4 seem like a basic phone. Then whats worse is that the vibrant is upgradeable (software) so its gonna get better....didnt know you could do more to perfection (: Perfect phone. Period.

 • the perfect phone. period. the vibrant makes the iphone4 seem like a basic phone. then whats worse is that the vibrant is upgradeable (software) so its gonna get better....didnt know you could do more to perfection (: perfect phone. period.

 • i got this phone. great device. specs show that it has FM radio. There are no menu links to it. How to activate it?

 • dont even compare iphone to this. Samsung is the supplier of the A4 chip for both iphone and Ipad. The chip in the iphone is 800mHz and 1 Ghz on iPad. So yes this phone is faster, brighter, LIGHTER, more memory, removable battery, wifi tethering.... i think that's enough lolz. And camera...SLR fdw

 • This is probably an i crap fan! This person is just going and posting this in all the galaxy pages. Don't listen to baffoons like them. I dont have a galaxy but i have been using one a lot and it rocks!

 • No secondary camera......

 • Only flash absent in this mobile phones and in the galaxy i9000 also becouse the phone is the best thanks

 • This is an awesome phone. I rooted my phone. Yes.. it does freezes sometimes and yes even with the one touch lag fix, it still lag a little but I still think the technology behind this phone is better than iphone 4 and I think samsung will support this phone. GPS issue is fixable. I have wifi tethering. I don't think iphone is capable of doing that. I have this phone since it came out and still loving it.

 • If you don't have the Vibrant please don't even post. With 16GB of Internal Storage you can install like unlimited amount of APPs you want. SUPER Amoled screen is better than anything else on mobile phone. Hummingbird is the fastest processor right now. Go check Linpack benchmark with TI OMAP and Snapdragon in it. The graphic chip in GSG beat any mobile phone out there with the latest PowerVR SGX 540. DNLA supports to send contents wirelessly to DNLA supported devices. It also has TV Out through 3.5mm headphone jack. You are no longer need to convert you files with it supports for DiVx, xVid, mkv, flac, ect...Then you add 6 axis motion sensor with gyroscope, gorilla glass and maxtouch sensors. It's at least a generation ahead of other phones.

 • The guy who said it was horrible must be kidding. Battery life at first seems bad, charge the phone completely and run it down completely (till it shuts off) and its fine after that. Super sharp colors, wicked fast, LOTS of storage, Gorilla Glass, multi touch, and an amazing camera make this the best phone I've ever had. I have had a Mogul, Touch, Touch Pro,Palm Pre, G1, Mytouch 3g, Moto Cliq and this. NO QUESTION THIS IS WAY WAY WAY better.

 • The vibrant or the galaxy s do not have a touch pad. The touch screen and the calibration is fantastic. I had this phone almost 3 months and I haven't had any problems with it.

 • just hope the spec is what it is really, cus im buying the phone i love what is in the spec

 • Its a horrible fone dont buy evn for free the battery sucks, the touch pad has gone for a toss suddenly and the calibration is not working.a complete waste of money..just regret samsung for making such cheap touch pads... balls to samsung

 • hahahahah... no annual contracts on my webcam if they prefer it without a flash

 • this phone is SICK! I was due for an upgrade with t-mobile back in march and didn't see any phones that i would want to keep for 2 yrs. thats until i saw this phone 6 months later. Iphone users can keep blowing their money.. i rather have the better cheaper $100 /w contract phone... thank you samsung finally steping up your game!

 • Here's your second camera and flash:

 • That is the best mobile phone I ever used. I have it in addition to the IPhone 4 and I regret bying the IPhone 4. the Android is really one of the best systems could be used in phones and it was smart choice from Samsung. and it let me able to use very speed internet. by having it with all its applications i may not be in need to have laptop with me as i have 99% of what I need in that phone. Thank you Samsung and thank you Android

 • I have had Samsung Vibrant for over a mouth now and it is the best phone ever. Do not go and get an iphone cause you would be unhappy.

 • Ive had da Vibrant for a month and I love it. Tbe best phone ive had point blank..no problems with it ao far. Love the market necause there are several free apps..

 • Ive had da Vibrant for a month and I love it. Tbe best phone ive had point blank..no problems with it ao far. Love the market necause there are several free apps..

 • how is this phone overall? is it good for web surfing? how it works with other third party applications?

 • I have been having my share of problems anywhere from battery to response time. I don't know what the heck is going on with it. I had to reset it twice and reboot it countless of times. I want something better.

 • My first touch screen phone!.... a post black berry curve 8900 user.... seems to be great phone

 • Standby time up to 432 hours? lol that is so wrong. I own the phone.

 • I recently purchased a phone from GsmNation.com, The service was pretty good I must say. Their customer support is pretty knowledgeable and you will always find someone reply to the phone calls promptly. They also have this nice online chat feature. So i would say they are definitely worth a shot.

 • This phonespecs areh wrong. Talk time islless than half of specs. Same with browsing its about an hr max. Really crappy compared to an iphone.

 • It doesn't, then you say it does ? You make no sense.

 • Is this much like with I9000 Galaxy S? I still don't understand why Samsung create model number so difficult to understand.

 • The Samsung Vibrant does not have a front-facing camera. The Samsung Epic (Galaxy S phone for Sprint) has the front facing camera. In my opinion, the Vibrant doesn't need one. I think it beats out the other phones of the series.

 • Is the gsmnation.com a good site to buy a phone?

 • "The Samsung Vibrant does not have a front facing camera" It does

 • I used a full charged (100%) phone (it took 3 hours to get it there from a 4% juice) only for calls to check the actual's claimed by Samsung. I turned off all internet activity, background data, 3G network, animations, min screen brightness and didn't even text. I received only 2 calls and called out rest of the times. The total "standby plus calling time" for which the phone lasted was 43 hours which had 10 hours 58 mins(91% of battery use out of the 96% i had consumed before started charging it again) of total voice calls and 1 hour 54 mins (7% of the battery use out of the 96%) of display use which i guess again includes the time display is ON when you dial the numbers, hang up etc during the calls.. KUDOS!! that's cool i guess.. but my NOKIA E72 does better (sorry to compare to way diff phones, but i am a HUGE fan of the way NOKIA phones' batteries last!!!). A full charge gets me through to about 38 hours with 11 hours of talking, texting, alarms, incoming calls ringing, email checking 10 times a day, occasional Google search. The only diff here i believe is the high powered samsung processor (1Ghz over Nokia's 600 Mhz) and the HUGE disply of the SGS..

 • its say Secondary VGA whats that mean

 • no u cant

 • Sorry for my previous comment. I viewed pictures. Actually they show pics of Galaxy S. The Samsung Vibrant does not have a front facing camera

 • OK thanks for replies! Where can I buy this phone unlocked?

 • Can you take a picture of the screen like you can with an iphone

 • Secondary front camera Yes, VGA

 • Confirmed:vibrant has NO front facing camera, only the i9000 global version does, update please.

 • Yes it will work, I have one unlocked using a ATT card and it says that it is using 3g on att.

 • it will work on at&t it just will run a lil slow

 • It has a secondary (front) camera as mentioned in GSMarena phone specs. You can even view pics and watch videos related to this phone.

 • Saw both at Costco, compare side by side, the captivate is so much bulkier, do not listen to him/her. Get the vibrant, is slimmer and look better than the captivator..

 • No need to get one unlocked. AT&T has their own version of the same (Samsung Galaxy S) phone. Theirs is called the Captivate.

 • just buy the captivate from AT&T it's the same phone

 • no front camera.

 • Got mine yesterday .. and it's really nice. very fast processor, and the storage is abundant. some minor cons (coming from my previous phone: G1): - no LED indicator light, which is handy. lots of preloaded programs that you cannot uninstall (and they're trial versions). I am still missing the track ball that was on the G1, and many other current phones. it will take me some time to get used to this. other than this, the phone is great, and I love it!

 • Samsung Vibrant has not front camera?

 • The phone will be able to make phone calls and connect to Wi-Fi, but the 3G frequencies are not compatible with AT&T.

 • Will this work on other countries using a SIM card?

 • Correction.. Once unlocked it will work on the AT&T 3G aswell.. the Samsung Vibrant has the AT&T 3G band.. look it up on the XDA forums..

 • yes, it does work on at&t 2g only. No 3g.

 • samsung vibrant has no front camera

 • Will this work on AT&T if i buy it unlocked?

 • Wats the app name? Can I download it from market?

 • Please can someone teach me how to hook up to the web as I've tried all means including reset to factory settings but to no avail

 • You just need to download the app mobile back up and it will bring your contacts over

 • I juz got the vibrant, how can I sync my contacts to google contact? I copy those contact from my sim, n I already have google account setup... It only sync some email I have in google contact, but doesn't sync any number from fone to air... Please help!!!

 • Alatosis,Hmmm you are moving to Nokia from Android. Checkout Nokia forum at the Nokia website. Nokia had been mass producing crap since almost 2 years, E-71, E-72, E75 then N-97, all those so-called expensive business phones have memory leaks, MFE use causes memory to get full with 2-3 months. Every 2-3 months you need to hard reset the phone and rebuild/reload your data. Hundreds of customers are crying at the Nokia forum and many of them decade long user of Nokia had decided to finally dump Nokia for good - I am one of them... Good luck with your switch.

 • Even i have been facing a lot of problems with the battery life. I guess Samsung is supplying the same hardware to AT&T, T-Mobile and for i9000. GSMARENA specs say that vibrant has a Samsung Hummingbird processor whereas Captivate and the i9000 have an ARM processor. May be this is what causes the vibrant to die down in half the time its brothers do. As per GSMARENA captivate will last for 13 hrs and 30 mins on a 2G call whereas vibrant would last a mere 6 hrs and 30 mins for the same !@#$@!@#@!@!????

 • ok i'll exchange it but how i make it locked again to t-mobile

 • Any android smartphone around the world can come and compete with Moto Defy. * Fisrt high end android smartphone waterproof capability with android 2.1 * Dust proof * Protected against moisture * Gorilla Glass protects the display of the device from scratches * Virtually lifeproof * All that in a 13.4mm also like x10 with 13mm * Weight 118 g while the x10 goes for 135 g * 5 MP Flash LED/supercap * Build in Adove Flash Player , Multi touch, pinch zoom, double ... * CPU 800 Mhz, RAM 512MB better than x10 with 384MB, Rom 2GB better than x10 with 1GB . The news OMAP 3610 can out performant the old Snapdragon. * 3.7 inch android 2.1 out of the box please. * Radio FM build in * Battery 1540mAh and up to 9.9 hours standby time

 • (Canada) Returned the second one also. Phone locks up shuts down and cannot be turned on. Have to remove the battery and re-insert or soft restart. Happened once a day for two weeks. Great phone...when it's on. If Samsung can figure this issue out along with the GPS issue it would be a superb phone. Pro's Brilliant screen Excellent software Plastic backing but sturdy Front glass very strong Good call quality FM radio on some models Front camera on some models Cons Frequent freezes (phone goes unresponsive, needs re-start) GPS issues No flash for camera Battery life - average

 • Can we use I9000s battery in this phone to improve talk/stamdby time, both have 1500 mAh ....someone plz reply ASAP, i m giving this phone away for this very reason....also is there FM radio in this phone?? didnt see it any where on the phone

 • i have had this phone for a few days now and i'm enjoying it alot! i haven't even hit the core of what this phone can do so i can't wait for that. the phone is a bit big, but i'm sure no one was complaining about the size of the iphone 3g, were you? the build is just fine and durable enough and there it will be flash enabled with the froyo update (i'm in canada and it's not out yet). every phone has it's positive and negative feedbacks and opinions from individuals. just break it down into what is important in the end. for example, this phone does not have flash. but it's not suppose to be SLR type quality anyway. i have a digital cam and that's what i would use for better pics. this phone is sick and i would so recommend it. trust me, i was bouncing between the iphone and galaxy S with my research. i'm even surprised that i chose the galaxy S that i posted it on facebook...haha. anyway, it's actually nice to go against the trend. i usually follow the trend. by the way, rumours abound the iphone 4Gs is supposedly to come out next july 2011. just great! more money to give to apple. sucks! try this phone out, it AWESOME! later!

 • Exchange it as it sounds like you got a bad phone

 • form the first time that i bought my vibrant it restarts without any order form me also while i'm using it, it restarts and resume restarting many following times and also i tgot heat form the back near to the camera what should i do?

 • T-Mobiles best all-around Android phone has been the Motorola Cliq XT. It has the same 5-megapixel camera as the Vibrant, only with a flash. But its slower for surfing and loading apps than the Vibrant, it has just a HVGA video recorder, a smaller QWERTY, less memory, and a screen nearly an inch smaller. But its also $70 less than the Vibrant. If you can afford it (and dont take many indoor pictures), the Vibrant is definitely worth the extra dough. I post some tricks at to help vibrant users.

 • In india you dont have vibrant/captivate/fascinate versions of the original samsung i9000 galaxy S, In india yo uhave i9000 for INR 31000

 • With a phone this good, why the hell didn't they bother putting a dual-LED flash for the camera? :|

 • well, I like my vibrant. its quick and so far, trouble free. anyone know how to operate the second camera?

 • I am using a Samsung Vibrant (T-Mobile)The battery is pathetic. I barely manage 24 hours with 6 hours of tak-time and no internet usage at all. Plus it takes 4 -5 hours to get fully charged. Can any user let me know as to the exact talk time achieved and a throw some light on the battery usage status and the charging time? Is it because of the different processor Samsung put in as compared to Captivate, i9000 (Galaxy S) and Fascinate?

 • Taskkiller from the android market leave wi- fi and gps off when you don't need them

 • Taskkiller from the android market leave wi- fi and gps off when you don't need them

 • If a person does not have a good experience with this device or any other device for that matter, why should they give a glowing review? The Vibrant is the same as another device. Some will love and some will hate it. Just because someone doesn't agree with my opinions doesn't mean that they are wrong.

 • I had my Vibrant for 2 months and all of a sudden the screen went BLACK! I could not turn it off nor could I use the phone. Called TMobile and they are shipping me a new phone.

 • this phone can video record in slowmotion? this function is the only thing that stop my to buy one ^^

 • I have had this phone about a week now, and all i can say is WOW. I work for a remote tech company, and it by far is the best phone in the building. The tech's i work with are all impressed by the handset, and a few are going to upgrade. It's true that not having a flash capability out of the box sucks (i really want to hit kongregate.com), but it is "supposed" to receive the 2.2 with flash integrated in Sept., that is if Samsung actually releases the update. Behold II is all I have to say :( The not having a flash on the camera is fine with me though, it takes great low-light pictures and the resolution is great. Im looking forward to taking the phone to cedar point and playing with the camcorder. Overall, it is an amazing phone.... it has some flaws, but then again what phone can you find that doesn't. For the money it was a great buy.

 • Symbian sucks. I curently use both Symbian and Android and I really hate Symbian now.

 • It has flash player (3.1 on Eclair, and 10.1 on Froyo). You just need to play with the phone a bit to discover its potential.

 • Some (old) apps run in backround even if you close them. Install the free Advanced Task Killer from Android Market. Swich of the Wi-fi when you do not need it.

 • Okay I think some people need to get serious when making opinions because there a some people who are actually looking for a phone with honest reviews. What i'm seeing with the few comments is posters trying to be funny and saying this phone sucks, I know people who have this phone and know people who dont and this phone is a real good phone I would say easily number 1 or 2 of all phones in the U.S. in software more realiable than the motorola droids and more media freindly than the HTC phones.Come on guys this phone is a great phone get off your iphone and step into reality.

 • this phone rocks!

 • no flash player,no second camera and no led flash!! why i buy this crap!??

 • The phone does have a front facing camera. I own this phone and it is awesome. The battery life gets sucked away from the GPS being enabled. Turn this feature off and I noticed significant difference in battery life. Great phone so far. :-)

 • the phone has more apps and can do "side-load" in contrast to ATT's Captivate. But, both do not have a secondary (front) camera. The specs page is wrong in this aspect.

 • I like the phone ,but the battery life suck. How can i prolong the battery?Or the batterie's life?

 • No flash for camera, plastic casing makes phone feel "cheap", horrible battery life, and charge takes too long when plugged in. Android is ok but no Symbian. Im going back to Nokia...

 • lovethisphone, this is for t-mobile not At&t, might want to read things through a bit more next time, just sayin'

 • The Vibrant is your typical Samsung Device. It's all foam and no beer. It looks great on paper. But it's performance, reliabilty and ability to do what it advertises itself to do fall pathetically short. They should have named this The Samsung Bug as it has more of them than a hot Minnesota Night by the lake. I've had it for a month and it's ready to go up for sale on Craigslist. My advice if you are looking at this device....stay away.....stay far, far away. There are much better choices for high end Android devices out there.

 • Out dated OS? Froyo isn't even out for most phones yet. How the hell do you figure it's OS is out dated??? Guess your not phone smart.

 • Who cares how a website reviews anything. A reviewer spends an hour, two hours max with a phone or any other type product and comes to his/her conclusion. That carries little weight or value to me. I place my stock in reading reviews from people who have usd a product in real life/time and had longer than "evaluation" time with a produt Anything can look or perform great for a short period of time. Ultimately, a "expert's" review means ZERO. The only review that matters in the end is the person using the product own experiences.

 • A good phone but no flash for the camera old out dated OS.

 • love this phone. att sucks. pass it on.

 • this phone weighs and feels the same as a potato chip. is this a cheap build ? hows the quality. thx to anyone with some info

 • What issue is that? Your inability to wait for an update, or an actual issue that impacts your use of the phone?

 • Still waiting for froyo update...

 • Still waiting for froyo update...

 • I been with tmobile forever just upgraded. but this issue is very annoying and shouldn't have ever happened

 • Please fix the specs. its annoying. I bought a vibrant seeing this stupid/misleading spec sheet. There is no front facing camera and no FM radio.

 • Samsung Vibrant for T-mobile dont have front camera!

 • Dude, Thats on all phones not just in this phone!

 • Where can I purchase this if i want to use it with WIND mobile in Canada????

 • How you getting it free? New service line?

 • Phone is great. My only issue is that when I'm talking to someone and I get another call, the person i'm talking to also hears my call-waiting alert tone. That is freaking annoying when the person you are talking to says, "aren't you gonna get that?" Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes?? Help.

 • yes

 • It's just been proven that the Vibrant function's on AT&T 1900 MHz 3G band as well, so that spec needs to be updated.

 • dah tha phoe iz nc n i ril lyk bt price duhhh!

 • Well, actually, in Canada the Samsung Vibrant does in fact have FM Radio on it... So I'm not sure why yours does not.

 • does this has a radio or not......can any1 tel me for sure?

 • yeeeeeeh i get mine for free from tmobile! :) can't wait!

 • dear GSMArena, please edit the specs list - the Samsung Vibrant does NOT have FM Radio. Its not that big of a deal for me; the phone is simply amazing, the user experience delivered by 2.1 is miles miles ahead of the symbian OmniaHD that i had before.. Based on rumors, its almost frightening to think what Android 3.0 will bring in a couple of months.. My only complaints: No Adobe Flash support (to be changed with the 2.2 upgrade), Camera doesnt have Flash (but it has decent image quality, very reliable)

 • By the way I still love my Vibrant!

 • Has anyone have a problem with gps? Mines had some issue with "gps lost" frequently when on a vacation trip to and from Virginia beach. Also it would crash and reset the phone itself which is annoying. I was using google navigation.

 • Sorry to rain on your parade but the samsung vibrant for t-mobile does not have a front facing camera for video chats. I know this cause I'm using one.

 • First off "this phone does not have a camera" atleast not the one for bell. This phone is way better then a iphone 4 and come on free apps and open source it doesnt take a ginius to figure out that this phone is amazing i repeat amazing and come on no flash light who raised these people its worth simply for the super oled screen a amazing 1ghz processor its one of the fastest phones around with its beauty sleek style and its super oled screen this super phone is amazing

 • Opera Mini u can find it on the market...itz free and it opens all web pages of any format whatsoever!!! Hope it works 4 u!

 • u better use a nokia 3310

 • what a joke

 • What do we cut from a smartphone else... if it is not important to get a camera on a device because we have a real camera...and we do not need a falsh because it is on the real camera, and we do not need Internet because we have a laptop...we can cut the GPS because we have one in the car and music player because we have a MP3 player home...Finally you need a Phone for voice calls...You can find so much on the market.

 • me too! oh my gosh..like oh..my f-ing gosh!! lol im sorry im like sooo excited! like oh my gosh

 • The phone doesn't suck...you don't have adequate coverage in your area. So when you don't get a feed, your phone hangs....makes sense?

 • I just picked up the phone and it has two front facing cameras so you can video confrence while you video confrence. What an awesome phone!

 • secondary camera is necessary for video calling okay!!

 • Yes, it has a secondary camera because you actually got the iPhone 4.

 • you people r stupid i just got the phone yesterday and it has a secondry camera

 • get froyo

 • I9000XXJP3 512.PIT PASS: samsung-firmwares.com Version 2.2 2010 July

 • This phone SUCKS!!! The software is so buggy and it crashes every time I try to do something like watch a movie or listen to music. Its way slower then my Nexus, thank GOD I didn't sell it yet. Good by Samsung Vibrant. Welcome home Nexus!!!

 • Could u tell me how to install Skype application on the samsung galaxy S ?? I looked in android market, but I couldn't find it Cheers

 • I read somewhere the ROM on this is not 2GB like the Galaxy S...but rather about 1GB...can anyone confirm?

 • Actually, that dude needs to tape a phone to a SLR camera lol. Geeeeeeez.

 • GSM Arena: get the specs right! The vibrant does not have a front facing camera

 • sup guys can you change the specs about the samsung vibrant for tmobile version.. it does not have secondary camera........i repeat, it does not have secondary camera.....

 • hahaha... yhat guy is looking for a camera, not a phone.

 • no flash no buy its as simple as that. **** wow, thats a lame excuse "NO" i think your line should be, "no money no buy".. right??! if you have money you can BUY a REAL CAMERA. its as simple as that..

 • I have a site that only support with internet explorer. What do I need to install to able to see it with galaxy s?

 • Hummingbird is better than Snapdragon go do some research.

 • But what about the time wasted? That's why we have reviews and online forums: one spends about 2 hours to buy and setup a phone with the post paid account then about 2 hours to return it back and cancel the account and maybe move the phone number to the old phone. If you have a job where you can't miss and then add the gasoline cost and the hell of traffic on freeway you'll better do your online research.

 • flash lite is a mobile version of adobe flash.

 • Does this phone have a flash light

 • find a verynice android app website see it all free www.symbiantalk.net/index.php

 • What's flash light?

 • It is the T-Mobile version.

 • Read the manual, the info for that is in there, in fact to most people read the MANUAL. I think there should be a scale in these comments regarding prejudices. So many conflicting stories, "battery lasts 4 hours", "mine lasted 14", "ran 15 programs in background didn't slow at all", "opened 3 programs and it bogged down". I really enjoy this site, but my god, this is driving me crazy. The best info i have so far is that I meet people that work in phones stores in canada with employee disounts for all phones, and they have bought full price, no plan android phones out of the US and love the fact they are not using one of their own iphones. Stop the insanity people, let's restrict reviews to those who know what the hell they are doing, have read the manual and have had the phone for at least 4 days. To those that got the phone and are now selling it, have you not asked about trialing the phone and seeing if you like it before buying, if not, you deserve the fate you got. I trialed a SE X10, beautiful device, phone didn't work the way i wanted it, got my $500 back. end of story. No crying.

 • cpu? :)

 • can we add chinese too this phone??

 • whats this, 5 mp camera,no flash!!! and this is on hummingbird.... snapdragon would be better..... oh man... this is what???? v2.1 eclair???? 3.0 is on walk on phone and its 2.1, atleast bring 2.2 bad move samsung................................

 • so how is this phone different frm de galaxy s?

 • please read before replying , they mean camera FLASH ,the likes of xenon flash or led flash for lighting up indoor scenes or dim subjects for camera to capture !

 • I work at a Bell store and we have a live vibrant. IT HAS FLASH LITE

 • The Galaxy S phones will probably be on the the best phones released in a long while. It breaks the mold and raises the bar. Motorola Droids can't compete, and the HTC Evo is close, but I'd give it to the Galaxy. So far, only ATT's Galaxy version has delivered, but, there are limitations that you don't have with Sprint and TMobile. I just test ran Sprint in anticipation of the Epic and the service was call quality was horrible in NYC, plus download speed was worse than Tmobile, ATT was best in download speed. 2.5 Mns avg..Sprint at 1.0 avg...TMob about 1.8. The longer the delays for Verizon the worse off for them. This phone is HOT!

 • there's a night mode...it's amazing!

 • You could just wait for the Android 2.2 (Froyo) update it supports Flash 10.1 Beta. It's supposed to come out at the end of September. And trust me this is a great phone.

 • Martin wrote: "Vibrant from Bell can NOT connect to any computer" Or just say into Voice Dialer: "SD Card" and in opened window "Enable USB Mass Storage" twice for both flash storages. That simple. The Voice Dealer from Applications is good to place on front screen anyway

 • How did you get the phone for $49.95?

 • My new, out of the box, Vibrant from Bell can NOT connect to any computer! With out a connection I could not upload my music and videos. The MTP application crashes on the phone! I found this fix, but not on any Samsung or Bell support web sites. "Buyer beware", crappy tech support :( Menu > Settings > SD card & phone storage > then under 'Internal SD Card' - Unmount SD card > Format SD Card > Mount SD card

 • Wow I can't wait to get this phone I'm getting it friday and I am so excited! It's like Christmas again.(:

 • No flash no buy.It is as simple as that.

 • i just got mines yesterday and i love it does everything i need and more super fast... great phone !

 • Had both the Vibrant and Captivate, Returned the Vibrant. The plastic shell seemed flimsy, and weak. Captivate is metal. ATT a faster download than TMobile. I am going to give Sprint a shot. Android OS is really superior to other OS on the market right now. Super Amoled prob best display right now, Spoke to local ATT employee, Apple 4G s not selling, getting whipped by Captivate and HTC Aria.

 • Im like a kid waiting for santa....Can't wait to have it in my hands.

 • Tmobile is giving this phone to me at $49.95.... and I so can't wait to get it next week. I wonder how the kindle on it is like.

 • i have a site that only support with internet explorer. What do I need to install to able to see it with galaxy s?

 • so the bell one has a flash? and did they say if it would work on AWS.

 • Wrong, the bell one has no flash. It has a useless front facing camera though. Buttons are also nicer. No need for search really.

 • Is there a version that comes with a flash for the camera and will work for Tmobile? If so, where can I get it?

 • what i noticed about this phone... is that the display is very nice...but when u go to web browser...everything is not very clear... i think because of the display... its hard to read articles from internet... well compared to iphone display...i can read very clear on iphone! and the camera is very slow...it takes too much time to take a photo and than to take another photo! other that that its a nice phone and its the only nice and real hight tech phone from tmobile!

 • I am returning my Galaxy S 16Gb. It is very good in general but the GPS is terrible, terrible. I need a working GPS, not a useless one. Pity, what a pity... no alternatives since android does not support external bluetooth gps units. Do something Samsung! Maybe a recall is needed!

 • The Bell Vibrant in Canada is so much better than this one. It comes with flash and front facing camara. It has buttons from original Galaxy s phone.

 • they are in 2 different specs, only the os2.1 is the same in both phones, other than that,it all depends on the personal favor, but i like vibrant better over all, especially the big screen.

 • this phone doesn't have the chinese display, however, the os supports chinese display on the web, and text messaging. Google pinyin gives you the ability to enter the chinese characters to contacts, search the web, texting, etc.

 • Yes android 2.2(froyo) is supposed to have flash.Don't know when that rolls out for the vibrant..

 • I got mine yesterday and I don't want to put it down!!!

 • I have a site that use java.Does the galaxy S view that?

 • Which is better between the my-touch slider or the samsung galaxy?

 • Why can I see any flash on any sites?is it because of 2.1?

 • Hi, expect the qwerty keyboard what it the differance between Samsung Vibrant and Samsung B7610.

 • google pinyin allows the phone to see chinese in menu or juz in websites?? is there any chinese rom out for vibrant yet??

 • mine is arriving tomorrow and im soooo craazzy!

 • its avery amizing phone s3650

 • AMOLED is bad for your health? Oh please...smoking too, so be carefull buying this Samsung and smoking @ the same time! This is by far one the best Android phone out there, great work Samsung!

 • Beware: AMOLED is definitely worse than a good TFT - ISP with LED back lit. An important factor that has to be consider for this Super AMOLED is that the light directly beams into eyes from its source which is OLEDs. All natural vision of human eyes is when the light comes from reflections of light, generated by sun or lamps, over objects: the photon beams don't directly get from source into eyes; also the beam of phones is not reflected as you may think: you don't get back through reflection the original photons from source; the phones are not as ping-pong balls cast back by objects which they hit; the beam is absorbed by objects, converted in energy and the objects emit other photons back in a sub spectrum of the original beam, lower intensity and broader uniformity over object surface thus giving color to objects and thus protecting the eyes from artificial light that maybe dangerous for human retina when comes from artificial powerful punctiform sources. The LED back lit from TFT is diffused over a white panel then by reflection passes though liquid crystals and get into eye so it is a reflected light, not the original light. OLED like CRT colored phosphors or plasma's pixels directly beam the light into eyes thus you are not protected from X-rays and ultraviolet emissions (UV radiation) and high energy photons which make lesions in organic tissue. So, TFT displays are safer for health than AMOLED and CRT and plasma displays.

 • That's for sure that there is "No front facing camera for At&t and T Mobile version" Galaxy S handsets. Only Sprint version has front facing camera. Don't know for Verizon version.

 • When AMOLED display gets 1280x800 resolution Vibrant-like one will be better phone then iPhone in all respects

 • "All you shmucks whining about UV from the display, you have more to worry about from the RF radiation emitted from the phone than the UV!" If anyone is shmuck, then that's not those who care about UV. RF danger is urban legend, not supported by any common sense. UV danger is medical fact understandable to any high school basic physics student who is currently not on heavy drugs.

 • they are the same phone just slightly customized to the different carrier like the nexus one for tmobile and then at&t although this phone doesnt have a front facing camera and the captivate does

 • Samsung Vibrant is for T-Mobile USA and has a 1700/2100 3G band and the Captivate was made for AT&T and has a different 3G band as well as different software tweaks such as blocking of downloading non-market apps.

 • The Samsung Captivate and Samsung Vibrant are basically the same phone (as is the Samsung Epic 4G). They are all US variants of the Samsung Galaxy S for three of the major US cellphone carriers.

 • iphone 4 is better because i have both

 • different 3G radios. vibrant is T-mobile compatible 3G. Captivate is ATT 3G compatible.

 • Awesome phone....best android phone on t-Mobile. touch and display is awesome. except body this phone is super in all the area. with 2.2 upgrade it would be more fast and awesome device :)

 • i luv thiss phone its so cool and once you start playin on it u cant stop its so addictive]

 • camera flash on phones are worthless

 • Captivate is the AT&T version of the Galaxy S and the Vibrant is the T-Mobile version, that is the main difference.

 • Samsung i897 Captivate got no secondary camera and a radio.

 • Just ordered mine from Tmobile - 2-year renewal $164

 • a perfect phone, but where is the camera flash? taking night pictures gonna be a problem

 • i never bought phones without flash bro. flash is a useful tool.

 • so the F L A S H is the actual deal breaker for you?wow must to get your head checked.ANYBODY who is making a big deal about no flash on this phone is just desperately trying to find something wrong with it.

 • Can anyone tell me the difference between Samsung Vibrant(this phone) and Samsung i897-Captivate except looks?????? I dont understand why Samsung is launching two phones of almost same features at the same time.

 • love dis fone !!

 • ok your not gonna take your dslr camera everywhere you go . Who carries a digital camera in there pocket NOBODY.Who carries a giant dslr NOBODY. So lets stop talking about camera phones and actual cameras. People actual carry camera phones to events , parties, bar and the club.

 • I think is this is the so and by far the greatest phone I ever had beside iphone. It responses fast and it is really a true Droid phone which is really up against iphone 4. This phone play all my DIVX and rmvb media format without converting the format like iphone. tons of software and also tethering comes with it... what else can you look for... where the battery standy by for more than 3 days... I love it!

 • Samsung's CPU continues to register significant product development and marketing advances with its Hummingbird SC5PC110 processor. The Hummingbird S5PC110 runs the Samsung Galaxy S or T-mobile Vibrate, etc. smartphone, which Samsung asserts will launch in an astonishing 150 countries. One area the Samsung can assert clear product differentiation against Qualcomm (Snapdragon cpu)is in the area of 3D graphics. The S5PC110 processor can scale up to support 90 million triangles per second. In contrast, the Qualcomm QSD8650 delivers only 22 million triangles per second while the pending QSD8672 will do up to 80 million triangles per second. Additionally, in the related area of 2D graphics rendering, Samsungs S5PC110 product can support up to one billion pixels per second while Qualcomms QSD8650 supports only 133 million pixels per second and the upcoming QSD8672 product still comes up short against Samsung with an improved 500 million pixels per second.(Apple also missed getting this chip from Samsung in turn Samsung placed this cpu in the own Galaxy S series).

 • Good phone with solid applications but audio quality is very poor and low , as compare to anyother smartphones...... also the speaker is beneath the backpanel , so whenever u put down and if ur phone rings the sound is un hearable.....

 • Well remember, a phone is NOT a camera. Its a phone...if i have a 6megapixel dslr camera and 8mp phone, my camera stil gna take better pic! It depends on the size of the procesor where ur camera has a procesor for the lens 3/4 the size of a credit card, and the camera on a phones processor the size of a needle head! Therefore the megapixels on the camera are bigger and capture more light than ur phone! And btw...the processor in a camera is the thing which acctually takes the photo! U dont need a flash on a phone, dont make it such a great issue coz as i say, a phone is not a camera!

 • The phone is missing a front face camera because it doesn't have one the specs are wrong. Its missing a flash and the night shot works but your picture will come out kinda blurry if you dont hold it still. It works but it still looks like crap after you take it. BUT the epic 4g addresses all these problems :) They even gave it a qwerty.

 • uh I think what Candylady2m is saying when froyo update comes out, it will include adobe flash, so that you can view flash sites or whatever has flash in it. Not the LED flash mah man. Android Rules!!!

 • na CDMA phones u stuck with them( Sprint 4gphones u pay 10 more bucks to use the phone plus like verizon u have rules, GSM world wide T-Mobile 200 million users world wide.Besides some have real cams for night time use besides we all do other things at night time (try the night mode on the phone i did its good). And all HSPA and HSUPA,HSDPA can be achieved by a software upgrade to existing 3G T-Mobile networks, giving HSPA a headstart over WiMax,(Sprint's 4g) which requires dedicated network infrastructure. A huge variety of GSM HSPA,HSDPA etc. enabled terminals, more than 5000 available today together with ease of use gives rising sales of HSPA-enabled (see Galaxy S etc.GSM phones and are helping to drive the HSPA.

 • why samsung's expensive phone nowadays has no flash for the camera? i think its better of no camera at all rather than with camera without flash.

 • I dont see why there is this major debate over the iphone 4. pratically it just as fast as the vibrant both holding a 1Ghz prosessor

 • Right, Froyo will pop up a LED on the back of Vibrant and make happy all iPhone's detractors.

 • Y dont they equip this cellphone with an 8Mp cam?

 • Don't worry. As soon as it gets the FROYO 2.2 update, it will have flash.

 • This phone doesn't have a front facing camera but your specs say it does????

 • i hd bought the ph frm korea i m nt quite satisfied with the speed of gprs only 15-20 kbps it gives bt my another ph 5230 gives 30-35 kbps.

 • and if it gives off uv, then try this hold the screen up to a mirror in a microwave and you have a time machine......

 • im sorry but i have to have a flash.

 • Please share why. Or do we have another kool aid drinking iphone lover?

 • The camera on the galaxy is awesome. I have taken pictures in dark rooms, in restraunts, in clubs and unless your in complete darkness it will auto brighten any light, and believe it or not, the pictures almost look better than my brother's mytouch slide that has a LED flash/5mp. I would prefer a flash but it works better than any other camera without a flash i have had in the past. Its not worth passing on this phone because of the camera.

 • wow!!wat a iphone even my 3 yr old boy doent want it

 • hahahahahaha u right but we all want a good looking phone ! think about it . we are paying for it , so why not get some that we like

 • I been with the same phone company for over 10 years. any boby remember voice stream? thats right , now we call it T-mobile. i love T- mobile untill i stated traveling with work in the last few years. Every body around me could talk on the cell but me! I have a few months on my contract n im going to viron n get me a kool phone.I really got exited when i saw the HTC2, but the windows? nope ! so now the samsung with out flash the screen ect! so, i made up my mind n moving all 5 of my lines !

 • ok, thanks for the info but, im not trying to take a picture of the sky ! i want to see real pictures like inside of a club, bar , or a dark room with your girl .. i still think that you need a flash for good facial pictures!

 • Again speculations... do not waste your and our time, find real level of UV in AMOLEDs, that's the only potential value in all your posts. I emailed to several people at TCO, all emails bounced - some in vacations, some are not there anymore. I will repeat, the brightness of Super-AMOLED pixels is still far from being "Super". It is easy to understand that when you take your cell phone on the streets. The regular white paper there is by far brighter then any modern displays.

 • True, 18 mil of galaxies in all its universe of existence versus 20 mil of iPhones in the first year of its STELLAR childhood. The ONE million of Super Bright small LEDs from AMOLED beam Directly on retinas not by back panel reflection as TFT LCD which lowers the dangerous UV and high intensity photons; besides merely poor light can blind if it is intensive as in Super Bright AMOLED. Related to statistics, I will contact consumer report.

 • The brightness of each individual pixel of AMOLED is probably factor 1.5-2 only larger. Do the math: both good LCD and AMOLED displays have brightness around 300-600 cd/m^2. Nothing dangerous here. Concentrate on UV, Anonymous. Contact TCO in Sweden or find optical range spectrometer, my people are in vacation now. By the way Forbes, the Financial Times, Fortune and the Wall Street Journal - have recently reviewed and written about the Galaxy S, generating buzz abroad. A writer at Fortune said the phone has the best screen hes ever seen, while a tech column in the Wall Street Journal dubbed it a worthy competitor to the iPhone 4. Some analysts predict that worldwide sales of the Galaxy S will hit some 18 million versus 20 million for the iPhone 4.

 • "Hope u learn't something..." No, you learned something: AMOLEDs emit ONE million of Super Bright beams directly into your eyes, at once, one beam for each pixel which is a small LED. BTW people use in these days in US "learned" not as in UK "learnt", and nobody uses "learn't" excepting you from twilight zone.

 • Not really. Those phones can't be unlocked and are found at all malls in US, not on gsmarena's links. You will be deleted soon.

 • Agree, it's pity no flash, but 9/10 of your needs for flash will be taken by unusually effective night mode. Look here

 • NO FLASH, WHAT A WASTE!!!!! I dont work for any phone company but, if you want a real phone get HTC Droid Incredible for verizon or HTC Evo 4G for sprint!!

 • "There is no chance Vibrant to be sold in US, nobody buys it because it is a buggy phone, broken GPS, dangerous display" Nobody buy it? I buy it. It is great phone. Buggy? Show me not buggy one. My GPS is by the way fine from day one. Screen dangerous? Did you receive the respond from TCO ? Please shut up before that with your speculations. Or until you yourself find the UV emitting level of the screen. Initially I thought you are reasonable but you started to annoy even me. And i am probably the only one who is still partially on your side (before we find if the screen really emits UVs).

 • I get a lot of emails on a regular basis and I am used to the blackberry function of email, does any on know how to make the incoming emails more effecient on this phone. I never get any because it takes so long to download them. Thanks

 • Proof: "Secondary Yes, VGA" for Vibrant This is a lie. Right! You find time to delete post but not to correct specs.

 • download the google pinyin and go to setting-choose traditional chinese

 • Do not exaggerate, Anonymous. The only potential problem is if OLEDs radiate UV. If not then all your problems are solved. If you will find they radiate dangerous UV spectrum then all the cards are in your hands. Sue them for $1 billion. I'd take just 1% for the idea :)

 • yea, u can,i had the google nexus one before and now i got the sony xperia x10. all the android phones have like about 25 different world language already preinstalled. which means u can read and display and type the your language u know. u can also download many input methods online. i m a chinese living in colorado now and i installed chinese qq pinyin input method for my x10 which works great. hope this can help

 • is there traditional chinese in the tmobile Vibrant as system language??

 • You bet on quality and honesty in IT business which is nowadays just about money and null about health. Once a technology is released all measures which may protect the customers will be from case to case applied or not. They may use glass for this phone release and plastic for the next one and nobody can check all thousands of phones coming from Asian market; the only safety can be taken by choosing the right technology which doesn't need UV filters or other protective materials which are up to the conscience of fabricant included.

 • Which brand makes the best screen protectors? The ones which do not have dithering effect (visible as "dancing" of colors as you slightly tilt the cellphone, specifically visible on white background)? May be we have to make UV protectors :)

 • Andro, you also hit complain button on my posts? I see they started waiting moderator approval. Nice... Do you you dude mean that electrons and holes are fermions with half integer spin, an exciton may either be in a singlet state or a triplet state depending on how the spins of the electron and hole have been combined? Statistically three triplet excitons will be formed for each singlet exciton. And that tje decay from triplet states is spin forbidden, limiting the internal efficiency of fluorescent devices. Phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes make use of spinorbit interactions to facilitate intersystem crossing between singlet and triplet states ? Cool down, this is electroluminiscence. And Anonymous is right, whatever it emits may go hit your eye and skin. As opposed to LCD the fluorescent backlit light of is re-emitted light, hence it has much less UV. LED backlit may not have it completely. Just wait until TCO responds, i wrote them and publish their respond. They have strict requirements in Sweden. Also in Germany. The cr@p would not come through unnoticed since Galaxy was first introduced in Europe. As Anonymous correctly mentioned the decay of excited state results in a relaxation of the energy levels of the electron, accompanied by emission of radiation in the visible region. Or it could be in UV. But the frequency of this radiation depends on the band gap of the material. And if this is true it 1) could be that nothing is emitted beyond the gap, i.e. blue pixel frequencies 0.43 micron. So we will have not just small but exactly ***zero*** UV and zero harm. None. 2) besides glass itself is not transparent for UVB 3) if screen emits UVA, NUV, UVB then i hope Samsung hired not complete id!ots and added to the glass UV absorbers which is very easy to do since UV filters are known for centuries in photography.

 • The phone for t-mobile(USA) is the Vibrant...and I think they were stating to that other person that it doesn't have a front facing camera like the original i9000...chill out.

 • You've never used an AMOLED have u? They work under the same principals as LCDs except they use organic diodes to produce light which have off states to produce deep blacks leading to vibrant colors via the contrast, and they save battery power since each pixel in a picture with dark colors is in an off state or is technically a turned off pixel (No power used) or a low power state, also each AMOLED pixel produces it's own light, manufacturers provide backlights to boost the existing lighting in outdoor scenarios, with an option to turn the additional lighting off... these are the qualities tht make AMOLEd desirable vibrant colors and low power usage... CRTs use an electron gun to fire electrons at the screen; that react with the phosphorous coated front display to produce light.. c'mon they teach this in physics class, high school to Uni... u got to be kidding me with tht loong a** answer tht makes no sense!!! LCDs OLEDs AMOLEDs are based on crystal manipulation technology and are safe for ur eyes CRTs are miniature particle accelerators tht smash electrons to a screen converting their energy to light energy via reacting with phosphorous coatings... n they aren't tht great for ur eyes a below 50Hz CRT can cause Nausea n headaches!!! Hope u learn't something...

 • All UV is dangerous. It is ionizing radiation capable of changing your DNA. From the sun the UVA and UVB bands are claimed to be the most dangerous. And the distance here is much smaller then with other monitors or TVs. I've seen my kid playing with thisphone at the distance 6.5" from his eyes. I watch movies at 8.5" with reading glasses. Do you realize what that means? It means as if we sit in front of 40-60" TV. But it is very possible the UV level is almost zero here if Samsung cared or voltage is small. So we need to check first, it's by the way easy as 2x2. Each school kid can do that, just take standard spectrometer

 • Even IF they do emit UV, 1 it is of rezidual values, 2 the intensity decreases with the distance. 3 not all UV are dangerous, those close to the visible spectrum (as it MIGHT be the case here) pose no risk. Anyway UV it's everywere when the sun shines:).

 • The point Anonymous rises about safety is valid. It very possible that they emit something in UV. I will look with the spectrometer same time soon what we get from SAMOLED in UV range. As we know usually Swedish standard is very strict on all kinds of radiation from monitors. Will see if they will raise this question at some point. But the solution here is probably easy as adding UV absorbing protection materials into glass. Do anyone knows what is max voltage applied on subpixel? That will be max energy of the photons the screen will be able to emit.

 • 5MP camera without flash?? what a waste.....

 • This posting list is for Vibrant, you should move to i9000 posting list. Vibrant doesn't have front facing camera and gsmarena doesn't correct the specs in order to misinform the buyers. The same for Captivate, Captivate doesn't have front facing camera and its specs on gsmarena wrongly state that it has. It is no error, it is on purpose to promote these buggy galaxies.

 • This posting list is for Vibrant, you should move to i9000 posting list. Vibrant doesn't have from facing camera and gsmarena doesn't correct the specs.

 • More of a question than a opinion.. How do I copy my contacts to my Vibrant? My sim card doesn't allow me to attach pictures, or ringtones to my contacts and its driving me NUTS!!!! Please help!

 • I have the phone the same phone from t mobile the gps works great and the front facing camera is on the I9000 Galaxy S maybe if you do a little of research your slow ass my understand something

 • Hey guys does anyone know where i can purchase this phone for the best price in the U.S that is? Thanks for your answers in advance!!

 • tunesync lite.

 • i have the samsung vibrant and i love it. i found it cheaper than the iphone 4 and i say that they rate about the same.... but i cant say the iphone for might have a little more advantages, such as more features, etc. but over all the phone is great phone

 • Hi there, is it only for using in the US?

 • Power consumption - most of web pages have white background: While an OLED will consume around 40% of the power of an LCD displaying an image which is primarily black, for the majority of images it will consume 6080% of the power of an LCD - however it can use over three times as much power to display an image with a white background[55] such as a document or website. This can lead to disappointing real-world battery life in mobile devices. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic_LED

 • It does have a GPS problem but will be resolved soon, in the mean you can manually fix it through the phone settings just google vibrant GPS problem and get instructions.

 • USB?!

 • LoL. Vibrant is a version of Galaxy S for a US carrier. Go check each phone specs on this site to see the diffs. Who said anything about front camera? Why change the subject, Apple boy? How about that Amoled is dangerous for your eyes study, I asked you about? Let me give you some news about your beloved iPhone 4. When you hold it, you touch the un-insulated antenna, the high frequency signal is absorbed by your skin (that can cause cancer) instead of being broadcast in the air. I saw and I can look for a study showing that using headphones (that's with any Smartphone) is more dangerous than holding the phone next to your head, since the cables of the headphones concentrate the signal to your head. In the iPhone 4 case, the user has direct contact to the antenna when the iPhone emits a signal. And since the received signal drops because you short-circuit the antenna, the iPhone increases the emitting signal power, so it pumps into your skin radio signal close to the frequencies used in a microwave. That's why you deplete the battery so fast, in case you were wondering.

 • How do I put music from my music collection on my computer to this phone? Thanks in advance for any replies.

 • How stupid do you believe people to accept lies like this phone has front facing camera? How stupid do you believe to accept the ratings like this for Galaxy when its GPS is broken and the 3G signal is fluctuating when you keep normally this phone in the hand? There are some facts which just blind haters of apple could pass.

 • Are you an Apple employee? You are spreading the same lies about Amoled on the comments page of iPhone 4 and Galaxy S (at least). Do you have any sources(references) for your statements? How stupid do you think we are to accept your association between CRT and Amoled?

 • yup. u can use wifi.

 • Samsung Galaxy I9000 doesn't work on 3G at all in US because it doesn't have 1700 for TMOBILE neither 850 for ATT, 1900 being retired on 3G in US. Besides I9000 has the same broken GPS and PenTile AMOLE. HD recording is known to be poor quality don't waste 600 bucks.

 • Friends, Finally a Good Combination of Hardware & Software has come together. Got my Factory Unlocked Samsung i9000 2 days back and loving it. I have used/changed several SmartPhones over the last 2 yrs and this Phones to me is the best in the breed among the Androids so far. I strongly recommend Android fans to Buy this Phone if you are looking for one today or need an alternative to an iPhone. Long Story Short it has extremely responsive UI experience(not the TouchWiz but load the other LaunchPro App), Awesome Screen(like no other yet), Feels Very good in Hand(meets the expectation of Users like me who moved from iPhone), All Apps work very well and smooth.

 • I had such phone and returned it back. Maybe, in the future, AMOLED will improve. So far, it is definitely worse than a good TFT - ISP with LED back lit. Related to the usage of metal for light separators, it doesn't matter whether it is metal of non metal material. In fact, inclusive the metal, if it is very thin, it is transparent to light. Besides, the metal usually reflects the ambient light so if all sub pixels are off then you wish the screen to be black not silver as it may look if the pixels are separated by a metal grid like a very fine net from metal wires. Another factor that has to be consider for this Super AMOLED, the light directly beams into eyes from its source which is OLEDs. OLED like CRT colored phosphors or plasma's pixels directly beam the light into eyes thus you are not protected by ultraviolet emissions and high energy photons which make lesions in organic tissue. So, TFT displays are healthier than AMOLED and CRT and plasma displays.

 • I love this phone!!!!!

 • Though your points are reasonable, I think, you are wrong, Anonymous, in couple respects about OLEDS. If you know physics, just several microns (2-3) of almost any metallic layer, better highly reflective one, instead of black dies will totally stop any leak in optical range. It's not easy technologically but i hope manufacturers will figure out how to do that. Because it is possible there is no other way to make cells smaller. As soon as they will solve that there will be no problems to scale the subpixels down and get at least 720p (1280x720p) and even larger resolutions. This specifically is important for this SAMOLED pentile matrix. 33% less subpixels is indeed very substantial loss for visibility of small fonts which otherwise would be much better readable. Meantime AMOLED screen despite it's lower subpixel density will kick LCDs in all other respects. Of course i miss EVO/HD2 resolution not saying about iPhone's one, but still we all need even higher ones than EVO/HD2 and even iPhone offer. So, i will wait a year or two for technology to pick up higher resolutions. Means no full page reading, only captions and leadlines, zooming a bit more often. But typically i zoom anyway. Still summarizing nothing is better then Vibrant, it's great battery efficiency, graphics performance, camera and video quality with lot of features, 5/1.3 mbps DL/UL 3G speeds. Just the free tethering saves $720 per 2 years. And its unusually decent Night mode eliminates 9/10 of cases where flash is needed (though would be better to have it) And it's so much joy having its Las Vegas color world, that i excuse its visible pixelation on red, orange and bright white. Green has the same as in EVO/HD2. And less pixels in blue is almost invisible. And since we much more often read black texts on white background we lose less then we'd lose otherwise. Just enjoy finally first useful cellphone.

 • Vibrant looks and feels much better that Iphone

 • gsm arena specs say that it has got one

 • Its anybody know how to set up smart alarm on samsung vibrant ?

 • OK im going to make the switch to android now . but i was wondering do i need to have a data plan inorder to use applications i download from the android market. OR can i just use them with wifi/no wifi

 • Just copy the design for iPhone... shame...

 • is there traditional chinese in the tmobile Vibrant as system language??

 • No, there may be a typo on the box. It doesn't have 850 and 1900 needed for AT&T.

 • I noticed the back of the samsung Vibrant BOX it says it has UMTS I, II ,& IV . I want to use it on AT&T , and according to Wikipedia, UMTS II is At&t's 1900 Frequency of 3G. . . . wouldn't it make sense that the Vibrant should be able too see At&t's 3G NETWORK !?!?!?!

 • I got this phone a week ago. Very nice phone, but i can't find secondary camera and FM radio as its was sad. Can anybody tell me if this phone has FM radio and secondary camera.

 • I have read reviews on tis phone for 2 days....and the phone does video record with a high definition option! I saw that info on tmobiles website..

 • perfect phone, but where is the camera flash

 • HELP please ! I have 30 second ringtones on my memory card and i want to use these ringtones on the vibrant. How do i proceed???

 • using my college wifi..last night at the bar..and at home..having wifi on HAS NOT prevented me from receiving or sending calls/texts anything

 • I agree that this SHOULD have a flash. but its not the end of the world. Day time is perfectly fine and night mode WORKS but its not amazing...its a SMALL problem compared to how amazing the phone is. Believe me i love camera phones but this is a smart PHONE not a camera..buy a 50$ camera if you need night time pictures that bad

 • FREE SAMSUNGS!!

 • have anybody been able to hook up the phone to a comp thru a usb cord and installed the driver? i'm operating window 7 home 64 bit i want to be able to put music in this phone but since i can't install the driver... i can't manage anything. my comp keeps displaying mtp (media transfer protocol) driver missing... searched all over the net and cant find diddly squat

 • This phone is great, only thing is why didn't they put a flash along with the camera? Is there any reason why you would have a camera with no flash, don't think that's rocket science...

 • When I was in wifi, seemed the phone disabled the voice call. No one could call me. Does anybody have such problem? And the solution? Overall, this is the GREAT phone, or I shall call it portable netbook with phone feature.

 • Can you let me know where the alarm setting is, I went into the alarm and clock, nothing mentioned about the auto power. Thank you.

 • u need to enable auto power on in alarm settings.. its disabled by default

 • u just proved u need to get an eye checkup done.. super amoled is absolutely fantastic n superbly better than tft. go check again

 • 07/19-07/20/10 I would just like to add my 2 cents as far as battery issues. 1. I use task killer to disable unused apps and free up ram/cache info and save on a little battery power 2. i setup the brightness manually to be low and the phone is still very bright. The phone on average uses 80-90% of its power from this alone so it is VERY important to manage. I used it auto on the first day and the phone lasted me about 12 hours. Once i set it up manually i got about 14-15. For example 8am-11PM. With lots of use. The phone battery seems very realistic to use in a single day..but more than 20 hours i would say you would have to have moderate to low usage..i would say i have high usage..1st day i had it with a full charge 30emails 10with attachments 100+texts 20 app downloads 30 min of web browsing 30 min of phone calls 50% total time using WIFI 40% with 3g the rest just browsing on the phone setting up emails and such please feel free to email me with any specific questions: [email protected] I love this phone! Update: 07/21/10 Today is the second day i use the phone fully and using it for just about the same amount my battery is only about 47% compared to 30ish% the day before..last night it crapped out at around 1145 with 5% energy..its 8pm now and im at 47%..so far i have charged it fully 3 times..i expect 2-4 more charges and im gonna get a max time of about 15-18 hours of hard use..LOVE THIS PHONE!!

 • Obviously there is there is a fan boy that has no clue or even touch the galaxy s variants. If you look at all the review, the only issue is the white hue that looks blueish. Other than that its all good.

 • Actually there is a video recorder that records in HD!!

 • Of course you want to sell Vibrant and keep hidden in your pocket an iPhone 4, just 4 you.

 • not true. haha im working in a phone store. i had to play and work on this phone. everything on ur post are jst based on ur subjective part.

 • Buy an iPhone, return Galaxy.

 • this is a cool phone. touch screen is good. apps are good. no freezes. real time web browsing. but no video recorder

 • The alarm doesn't awake when the phone is power off. The phone has to be on in order for the alarm works. Can experts give advice? Thx.

 • I have the cliq and my wife does as well we are both getting the vibrant the cliq sucks and I want to throw it in the trash at times but the vibrant is probably the best phone I've seen and played with in a while I'm definately looking forward to the phone comining in the mail any day now

 • Samsung Vibrant is a great phone with a great display. Whoever's giving bad comments about the phone obviously hasn't had it or has something to do with Chinese and Taiwanese jealousy toward South Korea in general. I visited Seoul for about 3 months their city is comparable to Tokyo, Japan. China and Taiwan still have a long way to go.

 • "Small letters are fuzzy for 800*480" Sure, at 1 mm hight letters. Have fun with your iPhone4. You are such a bad liar.

 • is there traditional chinese in the tmobile Vibrant as system language??

 • I did the research at TMOBILE and AT&T stores, bought one and returnd back. It is bad, worse than TFT. Nobody in US buys such Galaxies, all are on waiting list for iPhone 4. Sad to me that such Super AMOLED is really worse than TFT IPS, I hoped for better. You cannot use it outdoors; not brighter then TFT. The colors are like on 256 with dithering, you cannot see shades of basic colors without a dotted pattern. GPS is slow. ATT loaded it with crap for navigation and others to make money on our expenses. Too big to get in pants. 3.5 is the max portable. Small letters are fuzzy for 800*480, it has to do with PenTile which share some color sub pixels between logical pixels, it is not a triplet of RGB associated with a logical pixel, so for certain hues of small fonts, the strokes get zigzag and fuzzy. Android is slow all apps are on Java, interpreted code. The Android browser is buggy, slow, worse than Opera and Safary at rendering layout.

 • Do not worry what anyone here is saying about the screen its beautiful. No problems. Everything is sharp. Matter what I'm on it rite now as I type. Awesome. When I bought this phone I wasn't thinking about buying a TV. Its a cell phone.and the screen blows the competition away.for a cell phone! So write about things people care about. Like how it works the way a super phone is supposed to work, fast and reliable.no wonder this phone is selling like hot cakes all around the world. The phone back up the specs. Unlike other phones that have been rushed just to stay in competition with the market.speed, accuracy, fun, sharp, light, just on point. Hard to say that about a product these days.Go to tmobile or at&t and give a shot, I bet you will love it!

 • Using several micron thick cell separators, the light emitted by OLED just passes through such thin isolator. I did not say that OLED will not find applicability and will not evolve in long term, but it will take at least 5 years from now to see a TV set screen of 50 inches that is as bright and clear as a 2010 TFT with LCD backlight and be manufactured in millions and sold for less than $1000 a piece. By then you can buy Super AMOLED and thus to fund Samsung for research, the others will enjoy a good TFT like that one from iPhone and will buy OLEDs when they are really better than the best TFTs. In the meantime Google's OLED mobiles got down and Apple with a real buggy antenna and old TFT got up. I see in US nobody buying Galaxy or other OLED mobiles, all are dissatisfied by its bad visibility outdoors and its low resolution.

 • You wrote "Samsung said that TFT will never catch up with Super AMOLED. Yes, after years of research you see no large OLED display yet." I think it is a BS that AMOLED are doomed by too high thickness of black layers for subpixel isolation. What prohibits metallic layers instead of black ink material to isolate the subpixels? Just several micron layer is enough.

 • Please help me, I am a layman, please email me in detail step by step how to get to "Secondary Camera" I will really appreciate your help....... My email Add: [email protected] Thanks, Mike Vora

 • about this phone , does anyone already have this phone ? i wants to see if there is any 2 little holes where i can put a strap over it ?

 • just had it for 3 days...sexy, fast, slick..samsung did a good job..people should be smarter and make a better choice for their money..sorry iphone fanboys but it's the truth.. :) vibrant>iphone 4

 • It does have a front facing camera, look under "Secondary Camera"

 • very true the spec is false no vga foward facing camer i am pissed

 • Brilliant phone

 • The Super AMOLED display does not have any font problems. Im comparing the screens of the iPhone 4gen and this Vibrant and they both look amazing. But the Vibrant has a brighter screen. the Colors POP more on the Vibrant. Alot of people who left T mobile to go with AT&T to get a Iphone 4th gen are coming back. But At&t is smart by releasing the Captivate. But the Vibrant looks cleaner. It looks and feels like a super phone. I'm not hating on the Captivate. Its the same specs. But for some reason the Vibrant looks brighter. T mobile has been selling these like Hotcakes. I dont believe it to be a sleeper. its a true super phone. We all know that At&t just released the Captivate because they did not want to loose the customers that were upset with the iPhone 4th Gen. Bottom line is that Samsung pulled one out of the hat. And its going to produce numbers. Ive waited a while to buy a phone. But once i played around with alot of super phones from different carriers this one sold me. Size is just rite, the feel, the look, the speed, samsung touchWiz 3.0 is awesome mixed with Android 2.1 forget bout it! lol. and the Vibrant is getting the 2.2 software upgrade in a few weeks or less. And T mobile is drooping the HSPDA+ in a few days. and the Vibrant has it. Its fast now but just wait in a couple days. Super Upgrade to the t Mobile network speed. Its such a bonus added to the already awesome speeds this phone possess.

 • No forward facing camera. I ahve one and it is not there.

 • I have both an iPhone 4g and the Vibrant. I am literally holding them next to each other as I type. The Vibrant has a far superior picture and doesn't require me to hold it like I'm having a tea party in order to get reception.

 • Yes. I have one and the MobiTV app is amazing.

 • It says in the specs that this phone has a front facing camera but as far as I know, it doesnt have it. Can anyone confirm this?

 • Can the Galaxy S & the Vibrant use the same battery?

 • You can always root and flash custom roms. That's the beauty of Android.

 • Is there a way to increase the 3G frequencies a phone supports using an app or something? I noticed that Captivate has more 3G band support than Vibrant. I'm planning to buy an unlocked phone and use it on either Tmobile or AT&T.

 • I really wish Samsung hadn't tried so hard too imitate the iPhone on this. I hate the UI and wish they'd just let us opt to use the stock Android UI. Other than that the phone is amazingly light and the speed... WOW!!!!

 • with this same battery Captivate has 13h talk time while this one has only 6h any body know why??????

 • Needs to have stock android. That's all. Lol

 • Needs to have stock android. That's all. Lol

 • This phone is SUPER'. The only problem I find is flash for one and the battery life is just a little short, but other from dat this phone will ouydoo da IPHONE.

 • I just got this phone a few days ago and so far I can't put it down.So far I see no problems on this phone beside it needing a flash for the camera but other than that I am 110% pleased with this phone.I highly advise people to consider getting this phone.

 • Samsung said that TFT will never catch up with Super AMOLED. Yes, after years of research you see no large OLED display yet. In the meantime TFT won all market: small and large and very large displays kicking out inclusive Plasma from the last niche: very large displays. Actually the funds for the research in OLE comes from selling TFT TV sets. Now it remains if OLED will get a chance. So far all OLED screens offer just an over saturated pixelated image: AMOLED needs space among sub red, blue and green pixels to isolate them with a black pitch; otherwise the light floods in the adjacent sub pixels by light diffusion because all sub pixels light by themselves in all directions. That black dye separator among sub pixels is visible and that is why the pixels look visible on OLED. For TFT the light comes vertically from backlit on sub pixel cells which are LCD filters and turn on or off on whole sub pixel area and the whole area occupied by red or blue or green sub pixels blocks the diffusion in the adjacent sub pixels thus TFT afford to have very close sub pixels and high density. In Super AMOLED technology the black separators among red, blue and green will never allow pixels to be very next one to another so that to create uniformity and sharpness at close look. Hence actually Super AMOLED will never catch up to TFT. OLED as Plasma are good for a distant watch.

 • Galaxy S had flash. T-mobile & ATT had it removed for there versions of this product. anybody know why?

 • Im looking at it rite now as we speak.and i really dont see the anything bad. Everything on this phone is AWESOME. You must be some Apple fanatic because i notice your speaking about real things. I can give you a long list of problems with the iphone 4th generation. My cousin works for the Apple store. He is getting the Captivate since he has AT&T. Remember that Samsung makes the flash memory and processor for Apple.

 • can i watch live tv on it ?

 • samsung must put flash(camera) on the final product!!! T.T

 • If you have never cared about fonts you have never cared about reading text and you did your research using YouTube or other videos. The text is the most important for business class displays and Super AMOLED is not for text it is for games. Right iPhone should have taken Super AMOLED and let for Android the IPS TFT so that iPhone to be fully for gamers and Android on Samsung for businessmen and intellectuals and I'm really sorry that it did not happen so.

 • So your just saying for fonts Super amoled screens are not up to par with TFT. Thats it. Fonts? ive never in life cared about fonts. I care the sharpness of the screen the colors. Plus the over all experience of the phone. and Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant is a real contender to the iphone 4. I like Apple products. And the Iphone concept. But we sat side by side and we both agreed the Galaxy's screen just gets the WOW factor. EVerything POPS!. its smooth and looks classy. Even AT&T knows it. Thats why there getting the Samsung Captivate. which is the same as the Vibrant specs wise. People are upset with Apple. All Apple has to do is Apologize to there loyal customers and people forgive. then find a remedy to fix the problems it has besides the reception issues.

 • Not really. Super AMOLED is not clear for small fonts. This is a REAL fact found by many reviewers from Now York City and Philadelphia. Check online and see: all agree that as technology Super AMOLED doesn't provide as sharp fonts as TFT due to PenTile compromise and spaces among pixels.

 • funny my cousin works for Apple in Virginia. And he even agrees that this phone has a slight edge on his iPhone4. He had to take his iPhone4 back because his proximity sensor would not do what it was intended to do. We compared both phones and The Vibrant does not have fuzzy screen on texts. That is so Minuit. Speak about facts and Specs. Im not saying Apple makes bad phones. But i really think they rushed the production on a phone that if they would have took a little more time would have took the market by storm again. But Apple employees are already speaking about Apple having to recall them. PLus the higher resolution on the Apple screen is due to the fact that they can since they are only a 3.5 inch screen. Where as the VIBRANT is a 4 inch Super Amoled. I like Bigger screens with this Super Amoled technology. The colors just POP. remember that Apple was going to go with Amoled but Apple said that Samsung could not meet the demands of Apple. WHich is not true. Its just that Samsung was smart enough to focus more on there new lines of Galaxy S line phones. iTs business. You have to sharp in this world or be eating by sharks.

 • No, I tested AMOLED versus TFT in T-MOBILE and AT&T stores, in San Francisco, California. TFT is much better than Super AMOLED. Super AMOLED is FUZZY. I see nobody buying Galaxy as Vibrant and Captivate in California; all are in line waiting for preordered iPhone. I don't have an iPhone and truly hoped Galaxy to be better than iPhone. But it is not and I can't lie.

 • this phone has it all. and the rumors about the screen being bad. those are lie. instead of just being honest, i see alot of biased people posting comments here. trashing phones that they themselves do not own. just because they have seen it on Utube or facialbook. lol.. iTs smooth, the browser is awesome, no lag. and you can pretty much do whatever it is you want on this. Even holding it anyway you want. lol.

 • Night mode eliminates the need for a flash, it's the latest in phone camera technology, read a book.

 • need flash & increase wifi to 32 nice samsung

 • I read your comment from a Galaxy S. I do not see any problem although the text hight is 1.2 mm or so. Anyway there is the pinch zoom if you want a better readibility. BTW I could not find a definitive proof that the Samsung Galaxy S uses pentile technology. But even if it uses it I cant see any problem with it.

 • I love this phone! This is the perfect phone. I love the speed, the flash enabled browser, the swipe:), the screen, the build quality. I would like to know if any of its users has a complaint about it.

 • it's the best phone that i ever had, away better than my old htc my touch 3g,very fast ,it's the besttttttttt, with no flash

 • PenTile technology used in Super AMOLED is the root of fuzziness for smaller text: through some optical tricks they use RG-BG sub pixels instead of RGB sub pixels like in TFT thus emphasizing green light (the eye is more sensitive to green) by reducing number of sub pixels on screen, to create an optical illusion for higher resolution; when you have geometric images on screen made from regular shapes the optical illusion of high resolution is failing. This PenTile is a compromising technology without future, a transitory step in display evolution.

 • how could you say that your iphone 4 is better when it is being plagued by problems including antenna, sensor, and some other things too?aren't you reading the newspaper?your iphone4 is a flop!

 • Solid phone! People who complain about LED Flash and FFC- Get your hands on one before you knock it!

 • Would be perfect if it has camera flash.

 • I want it. I have a Motorola Cliq... would anyone whom has this phone suggest switching? Would it be worth it? How is the keyboard.. I am not too fond of the touchscreen keyboard on my Cliq.. Any feedback can help!

 • plz change this :Stereo FM radio with RDS there isn't radio in vibrant

 • Formerly had an iPhone (JB). Apple just discontinued software support for my device. Decided to upgrade to this instead of a new iPhone because I'm happy with Tmo. Other carriers in the US kinda suck..and $$$. Anyway, I upgraded to Vibrant and after having this phone for a few days, I can happily say that I'm in love with it. The display is just stunning! Nice of Tmo to show it off by including Avatar. I've had no lagging, contrary to what you might read from others. I'm not sure how they might be handling the device, but it's totally responsive for me...high sensitivity. I was kinda bored with iPhone OS before and it's just plain fun to play with this Samsung. It's back down to user preference. Both devices are great. However, I've read two stories saying this phone has the same "death grip" issue as iPhone, but it's BS. I've had zero issues with reception on this phone.

 • there is no meaning of 5 mg pix cam...bcz there is no LED flash.....!!!

 • Why does the VIBRANT show 6.5 hrs talktime and the GALAXY S show 13.5 hrs talktime? Aren't they using the same battery? Can ANYBODY explain?

 • Here in California no Galaxy had in store screen protection with film and yet the dithering is miserable, having to do with bad AMOLED technology; BAD PIXELATION COMING FROM AMOLED DOES BAD DITHERING. Any TFT is better for the same size and resolution.

 • Sorry, one correction. Dithering was due to plastic protection on top of screen i did not noticed. Which makes Vibrant to look much better. But still not perfect. Two major problems remain: hell visible pixelation of screen and no flash.

 • Before to make such statement go to a store and put side by side one Super AMOLED and a simple TFT with the same size and resolution (not iPhone). Then load the same web page on both phones for instance www.gsmarena.com and try to read this message that I posted on vertical orientation so that to be the characters like 1-2 mm. Then you'll see how hard it to be read on Super AMOLED versus TFT. I made tests several times going to buy Galaxy 2-3 times but changed my mind each time. I wished to be better Super AMOLED. TFT is by far, far clearer than Super AMOLED.

 • Apple desperately wanted Samsung's AMOLED for the iphone 4 because they knew it was the best display available for the new phone, but couldn't get it. Samsung refused. So Apple had to go to LG for the retina LCD display. AMOLED is way advanced and so much better thatn any LCD.

 • need flash on the camera.. pls put some samsung!! thank you!

 • This does not have a secondary camera

 • the camera is the deal breaker for you on this phone?man u r really reaching.

 • It is a great phone. It is awesome Works really smooth, it is light weight, one of the best phones that i even had in my hand

 • Why does the VIBRANT show 6.5 hrs talktime and the GALAXY S show 13.5 hrs talktime? Aren't they using the same battery? Can ANYBODY explain?

 • I work at a tmo call center and your iphone 4 is a joke... Let me kno how the duct tape is workin?

 • i'd like to bu one but it is disappointing. there is no flash for camera. what is samsung going to do

 • I think it will come with android 2.2 upgrade.

 • Went to T-Mo shop and looked at Vibrant. Now i understand why Steve Jobs kicked Samsung's a$$ and did not take their Super-AMODED for iP4. The only "super" in this super-AMOLED is terrible dithering super noise. This color "dancing" and inhomogeneity annoys to sickness. It's like cheapest projection screens returned from oblivion. This screen is not business class device. It's good for movies, pictures, games, divex. Cell's spec is good, it as a whole looks great, processor is fast, graphics is fast, camera is fast, but no flash, weak speakerphone, no notification LED, no HSPA+ , no FFC. But teens or women will be happy. Major disadvantage is that screen is literally impossible to use for full page browsing, pixelation is terrible, DPI=233. Screen needs at least 1280x800 (DPI=377) resolution to be usable. Right now - no comparison to EVO, HD2 which have the same DPI, not even mentioning iP4 with its 330. Clearly the phone was initially intended to use 4.3" screen, to much plastic around, but it would fail even at 3.5". And who needs such wide angle - this is just waste of battery life irradiating a half of space ( 2*pi )!!! Sorry guys, it's so pity, but this Puper-AMOLED is a failure, it needs substantial improvements

 • I got 1 today and I'm loving it, but I do miss the flash just a little. My other was n95 great phone but old and no touch

 • No flash , no thanks. I mean that is standard equipment today. A mistake in my opinion.

 • I mean yeah, this is definatly going to be one of those devices that kind of follows that pattern. Then again my Innov8 is packing an incredible 8mp camera on it, it'll take on almost anything out there. That's the big reason why I got it, because I knew it wouldn't be be out done in a month. But I wouldn't go so far to say monopoly though. Samsung really makes a pretty decent effort to do an all in one thing, but they're kind of known for developing a "super phone" then 3 months later (or weeks) come out with something better. I've never been one to buy anything when on day one except for my old Ultra D900 Carbon edition, but that was the most impressive camera I'd seen back then. It's just how the game is played. Almost every developer dose it. Build something amazing wait a few months and see how it dose then relase its updated version. Sony Ericson did it with the Xperia Line up, the X10 came out 2 months after the X2. It's just how things are done.

 • No flash, no front cam. Checked today in Cali. T-MOBI has poor signal here.

 • Surprisingly grabbed by left hand drops the signal (in store) as iPhone 4.

 • Not true. This morning, I read a review of the Galaxy S on a British website and the review stated that the Galaxy S does not have a flash.

 • I checked its screen in store; disappointing the small characters are fuzzy and even in solid color areas the pixels are clearly visible; TFT is far better, it is not about screen resolution it is about spaces among pixels.

 • this phone is sick! just got it and am loving it

 • just bought this! feels lightweight but sturdy, looks GORGEOUS. Runs super fast, takes great pics. Crazy happy right now.

 • Both HTC EVO and specifically iPhone made great progress with their camera picture quality recently, for example. iPhone jumped to the sky also with the HD video recording quality. For those who didn't seen ones, look at Anandtech for review, you will not believe your eyes. They've set the bar. I've not seen Vibrant yet, but if you are saying its pic quality worse then with your older Innov8 cellphone, Samsung is clearly showing the signs that it is becoming a monopoly. Will not surprise me. When this happen all of them start copying old "tricker-meisters". Look at Sony, which if it will make one step forward in cameras or camcorders, always takes two steps back somewhere else in spec. It will lower optical or digital zoom, make unusable interface, supply worse lens kit, push you to use their memory stick etcetcetc millions possible variants. One word: monopoly.

 • As opposed to cellphone, you will not be wearing DSLR and even point-and-shoot camera for all occasions. If ten times more weight and space is OK for you, the phone own dimensions do not matter. So why you need smartphone, take any dumbphone + laptop + DSLR then.

 • I thinking about buying the Samsung Vibrant, and was wondering whether it would a good idea for buying it or not, but honestly i don't care for its lacking of flash, and i think that its features are much more interesting than its lack of flash. So would anyone suggest buying and if not what is a good alternative?

 • no need flash..i got my dslr...waiting for my new vibrant..

 • I don't see the big deal about not having a flash. I mean really how many people are really out in pitch black darkness to and just have to take a picture. I've seen a few "Night Mode" pictures and they look decent. I mean yeah the LED would have made it a bit better, but not having a flash dosn't make it a bad phone. This is also the first GalaxyS device, this is going to be a new series for the company. If people are really that mad over a flash wait 2 months a new model will come out with a LED Flash set up and ya'll can get that, because that's what'll happen. You don't go all in right at the get go. This is a very impressive phone, I've gotten to mess around with it because my friend works for T-mobile. The camera is great, but even though its old school my Samsung Innov8 takes better pictures in both day and night. They just look better on the GalaxyS, because of that SuperAMOLED screen.

 • vibrant is already selling

 • Sorry to say there aren't FM radio in vibrant as well

 • T-Mobile USA must be having some mental problems in one area. They had very bad, cheap, almost defective green/rosy tint camera and dirty over-compressed video (not HD by the way) in HTC HD2. And now Vibrant has no flash with its camera at all! Not even a single LED-type one. That's called masochism. BTW, look at Verizon who also offers Galaxy S phone. They are not that mentally sick, their own Galaxy S model has flash. Not surprising T-Mo has problems.

 • "me": why? what happend whit yours phone??

 • Go back to the tard colony!

 • Yeah but Motorola sucks.

 • Neither does my iPhone so i dont care. As long as it has notification sounds and a battery indicator when plugged in and i open the screen, thats good enough for me.

 • It has a night setting and is supposed to make the night pics lighter but of course i havent tried one out. But, you can always get a MyTouch. I has a flash but dont have a Super AMOLED screen. Ive never had a flash so it dont bother me.

 • Get the droid X it has duel flash, mototola seem to care about customers more than Samsung, Samsung launches too many phones

 • you mean the phone that comes out tomorrow?

 • why samsung didn't include flash to the camera...isn't it important anymore ?

 • it hasn't even been released yet for you to have one!

 • The real Sansung galaxy S phone originally had one; however when T-Mobile accepted to be a carrier, they dropped the feature.

 • worst phone i have ever bought do not buy one!!!!!!

 • The Galaxy S and its variants have a great night mode for the camera that takes the place of needing a flash on these phones.

 • well im a really big ssamsung fan i'm getttin this phone in july..im curently usin the samsung memoir .,..8mp w a nice flash...this phone is 5mp w.o a flash...quite a disapointmnt considering ewverything els is great about the phone.... :(

 • No flash Silly Samsung No led notification light AGAIN silly Samsung Everyone who buys a samsung always misses calls & texts because Samsung is Insistent on not putting a led notification light on there phones, thats why I have stopped buying Samsung until the start listening to the customer.

 • Found out that out of all the Galaxy S variants, only the Epic 4G has notification lights. The Vibrant doesn't have any LED lights at all, not even a charging light.

 • The phone seems so cool in every way... so why on earth would they not include a flash??? For those who would say that you don't need it, most of the pictures I take with my phone are when I'm with my friends out at night at a restaurant or something. When a phone camera has no flash, there are no decent pictures you can take after about 6:30. What a waste of a totally pimped-out phone that does everything else...

 • yea, just download "pdanet" off of the market and it allows you to tether. I'm using that on my Cliq Xt and it works just fine. Picks up 3g and everything. It'll probably be better because hspda is coming out and thats faster than my internet at home haha

 • thought this one doesnt come with ffc ?? why is the secondary camera on the spec ?

 • Does anyone know if this phone has a LED notification light or not? I know the original Galaxy S doesn't and that's a big deal for me.

 • wow dats awesome... i thought android gotta be like windows mobile... u have to flash into a chinese ROM in order to make everythin chinese... i noe those old phones can juz change the language in settings and it can b chinese, never noe android is dat convenient...

 • the vibrant has a night mode. check out the pics on xda, it doesn't need a led flash, besides led flash is weak, what it needs is a xenon flash.

 • Yes you can change it to Chinese language in Settings menu but it displays both English and chinese for many things

 • nice fone and has everything needed but why have they got no flash for the camera, so pointless in makin a highend fone then drop it with no flash, phone companys need to start googlin sites like this and read our comments, coz they are clueless about how to make a phone, they always miss things out. seems like the nokia n8 will be the fone to have but symbian dont have good games. i have the omnia hd at mo so i dnt need to update untill somethin amazin comes out coz the phones comin out lately has one or 2 more thing on there phones. so come on phone companys, the omnia is over a yr old

 • i had a iphone 4 for one week sent it back boring ...android is the best os by far ..android is going to do to apple what microsoft done to them years ago thrash there a ss ...galaxy s better that the walled garden of apple iphone 4... my next phone will be the galaxy s2 it will be out when i am due a new phone..

 • imitating iphone 2g,3g,3gs design? the chrome near the screen lol!

 • Is the text style like iphone? The conversation type?

 • iPhone4? lol. king? lol

 • you can connect the phone to TV and you can even connect the phone to DNLA capable TV without wire needed.

 • it doesnt have flash but the camera resolution is the best one ive seen in the market so far. it even beats the high pixel resolution phones in the market. the video quality is good. you would never think the a phone can do that. the processor is fast in 1 GHz almost like the computer processor. and theres a lot of applications you can download to market place. and there a lot of good features that are very relevant and useful.

 • Does the Sphone can tether with others device *computer* uses it as the Modern like Blackberry?

 • is it possible to flash this tmobile vibrant to a chinese OS?? like the menu and everything is chinese in it...

 • is it better than samsung jet?

 • the vibrant has a night mode. check out the pics on xda, it doesn't need a led flash, besides led flash is weak, what it needs is a xenon flash.

 • is it have call recording system

 • there is no front facing camera...that is a light sensor

 • big range of price and high defination camera but very sad no flash lite. very funny?

 • Hmm, my next phone? Possibly. i may go with my current plan of an htc legend. bell canada is selling them for $399 w/o contract (i'm a cell phone commitment phobe)

 • my next phone :x

 • is it possible to flash this tmobile vibrant to a chinese OS?? like the menu and everything is chinese in it...

 • well its for market obviusly;p everyone know symbian+ adroid=bada is awesome + super amoled , only smart ppl choose bada

 • No, on the top left there is a sensor for light to automatically adjust the display brightness. The gap for cam should be considerable larger and on the top right.

 • Yes there is. There is a front facing camera. Look carefully, and closely at top-left of the phone.

 • Hey guys notice that in the weight they put a comma rather than a point so it's 1179 gms than 117.9 grams

 • iiiiiiiii cant say about it it is fantabulous

 • Samsung have their own OS but they r using android caz they know that their os bada is a Loser

 • c'mon samusung u r getting boring...

 • No, there is a front facing camera, it's so obvious if you put the picture up big.

 • i dont think that phones have to loose on flash just because of measures, personally i do not need 0.0000001mm thin phones, i better prefer thickr but with flash

 • Why all the same models? touch screen, 5mp camera, etc...How many models more??

 • It is a pity that it has no "TV OUT" and "long talk time"

 • No Flash! omg!

 • This model does NOT come with a forward facing camera....please update your specifications accordingly.

 • I'm a Samsung fan and this is a nice smartphone with good features but the only problem with SAMSUNG is that they releases phone so quick week by week that there new released phones are getting older week by week and not like Sony ericsson they released phones after 2 months that's why there new phones that are released don't get to much old and that's good bec. if you bought a phone then after that after 1 year your phone will be old bec. of that situation that they released phones to much quick and that's not good news...

 • tell me a different between vibrant and captivate?

 • You can use this phone for night vision too.

 • this phone doesn't need a flash...it has a night mode. check out the pics on xda, the night mode works great.

 • I'm agree with you, pal. w

 • Yes sir! By this time I think samsung knows what we exactly need nowZ! I'll send my congratulations for them. w

 • remove the name "galaxy" lols

 • WTF samsung always put "galaxy" on their phones!?

 • another NONSENSE "galaxy s" name! LOL

 • i think it is $200 with 2 year contract

 • Well, I have a Samsung Galaxy S (8GB, but it's also possible to have it with 16GB, however once Froyo comes up, I will use the external memory more). What I like: 1. Screen unlock pattern (on a matrix of 3x3 points you can select whatever pattern you want for unlocking the screen, so strangers may have a hard time looking in your phone). 2 Speeeeed. 3 swipe. 4 Great display. 5 Great camera. 5 The "Layers" application (let's you see in space POI's around you). 7 You can play DivX movies "out of the box" (I like this when I travel). 8 Good battery life (due also to economical proc and display). From android market: 9 Find my phone app. Minus points: No web flash in standard browser (but to be solved with Froyo; also there is a android marked browser who has it).

 • I believe this phone is better for the following reasons: - It weighs less, it's also thinner and bigger. - The screen on this is magnificent and more larger than the HTC disire. - This may not have flash, but it has HD video that the desire doesn't have. I think other versions of the Samsung Galaxy S might have flash, so if that matters to you, get the version that has a flash. - The screen and menus look better, they also have a new text imput that's called 'swype', which can make you type much more quicker - There are more specifications and installed applications such as: (This phone) ayar. - Social networking integration - Digital compass - MP4/DivX/WMV/H.264/H.263 player - MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC player - Organizer - Image/video editor - Document editor (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF) - Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa integration - Flash Lite v3.1 - Voice memo/dial/commands - T9 - Layar (unless that's for all androids) (Desire): - Digital compass - Dedicated search key - Google Search, Maps, Gmail - YouTube, Google Talk, Picasa integration - MP3/AAC+/WAV/WMA9 player - MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV9 player - Facebook, Flickr, Twitter applications - Voice memo I'd also say this phone and the other version of this phone flog the desire for design too.

 • I don't know why this phone don't have flash!!? such a good phone without flash, ah, it's a shame.

 • I don't know why this phone don't have flash!!? such a good phone without flash, ah, it's a shame.

 • Is this phone good or is HTC Desire good. I have never used a Samsung ph in my life, but nw since I am planning to get an Android ph, I would like to decide between this and Desire. SE X10, no way, lotz of flaws in it, so no SE. Cheers!!

 • almost everyday a new fone model by SAMSUNG is being released to the market of which i think almost all are the same different only in names.KOREAN made cellfones specially SAMSUNG are done in QUANTITY not with QUALITY.

 • Samsung Vibrant is IPhone overcoming... ;-) Strong Race

 • AT&T version is not going to have led flash. Supposely when the rumors were spilling before they were confirmed. The T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint version of the Galaxy S is suppose to have led flash. Now the Verizon and Sprint version will be the one having led flash. So AT&T and TMobile won't have flash in their version of the Galaxy S. Which I think its gay, don't mind that there's no FFC but led flash...come on...even the low budget phones have led flash. Give Tmobile galaxy S their led flash!!! haha

 • they using hummingbird!they using hummingbird! 3x faster than snapdragon (in 3d and 2d)!that show the differences between other galaxy~

 • this phone offers the same options as apple i phone 4.0

 • i checked the tmobile website, it was 329. sorry. and with the contract, i don't know yet. it doesn't mention it.

 • this is galaxy for tmobile. it already came on tmobile us for $349 with 2year contract. galaxy s will come out from 4 major us carriers. sprint, verizon, att and tmobile (tmobile already came out though).

 • The richest man in the world CARLOS SLIM runs telecom in Centrsl America. The archaic AT&T model of demanding to run a credit report before you can have an iPhone on their network shows how stupid they are. They have driven me to the Android platform. Principal always prevails.

 • the x10...better then this.... lol

 • it says here there is front facing cam but tmobile doesn't mention it and othere articles say no. what's the truth?

 • Wow, this is an Iphone Killer!

 • it seems like the at&t and sprint versions will have flash. not sure why t-mobile gets crapped out lol

 • Samsung create too many Galaxy S variants....

 • same features as i9000 galaxy s and i897 captivate, they just change the casing. of course the 3g bands are different respectively.

 • is this phone coming to Uk tmobile? why did they have to channg anything on it at all?the phone was fine as it is, which may mean there's going to be problem when it needs updating

 • "The Vibrant benefits from enhanced speeds with T-Mobiles HSPA+ network, but its not an HSPA+ device." t-mobile officially released this. you can go ahead and take a look. the hspa+ is the third bullet.

 • Does someone know if the T-mo version will support HSDPA+?

 • 1. No forward facing camera. Anyone with eyes can see from the photograph it's not there. It was pretty blatant on the Galaxy S that it was there, it's not present on the Vibrant. 2. No flash of any sort even though it's a given that any self-respecting higher end Android phone has a flash. ( Even the lowly Behold II has a flash. C'mon people. ) 3. The keypad is significantly different than the Galaxy S'. A Galaxy S is a Galaxy S, this is not a Galaxy S. It's a Vibrant. They may have some specs in common, but they are not the same phone. Move along, people.

 • The I-phone was a fashion/fad. People are beginning to realize this.I've personally converted a few people over from the I-phone to the G-1. The I-phone will eventually stop selling. Steve jobs is too greedy and doing it all wrong. Tying yourself to one carrier(especially AT&T) is a death wish waiting to happen.

 • I agree. The I-phone is way out of its league and i'd never own one, unless they got some awesome new technology that no one else has. I-phone sucks, even the G-1 by HTC was faster than the I-phone 3GS. How sad is that....That HTC's first Android phone was faster and did more than the I-phone 3GS. It took Apple 4 versions of the I-phone to get it even close to the G-1, which is a 1st generation Android phone.

 • I want the sprint version as the gsm version =(

 • Actually T-Mobile didn't leave it EXACTLY the same. As you can see the buttons on the bottom are different then the original, other than that its pretty much the same. Although I'm not sure if T-Mobile kept the front facing camera or not... :/

 • this IS the Galaxy S, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon are all getting a version of the Galaxy S, AT&T removed the front camera, and gave it a fatter build, Sprint added a qwerty keyboard, camera shutter key, and LED flash, and T-Mobile chose to leave it in its original state, no official word from Verizon yet.

 • It's quite coincidental that the specs are practically the same as the Galaxy. I'll be interested to see what changes as more info becomes available.

 • It's not like T-MOBILE is clearly written above the screen...

 • So? they're allowed to re-use their own designs. And this phone is meant to be the T-mobile version of the Galaxy S, not a new phone. Just like there was the i900 Omnia (GSM Version) and the i910 Omnia (CDMA version)

 • By your logic, every phone with a screen is a copy of the iphone. Well here's some news for you buddy, no one gives a f*ck about the iphone, look at it's ratings here, it's averaging a 7.5, whilst the Galaxy S is averaging 8.7. Iphone is old and lame, it is the exact opposite of revolutionary, even the new iphone 4 is already outdated, months before its release.. how sad is that?

 • All samsung Phones seems to be with same specs.

 • Copy of galaxy s and samsung i897 captivate Wrong way from samsung. only design is different. Not good

 • What do you think? Everything is a copy of iPhone? No one gives a damn about iPhone anymore, iPhone looks boring, iOS is so cheap looking, iPhone is out of competition.

 • actually, who cares about galaxy S with different name?

 • looks good because its a blatent copy of the iphone

 • a phone like the normal galaxy S? for what?!?!

 • Almost identical to the I9000 Galaxy S. But lets hope it's a little bit cheaper...

 • Another new phone from samsung??

 • Looks good.
