Hi,iam 4m city of lakes i.e. BHOPAL it is in INDIA, i bought ths handset in yr 2006 so almost it has completed 4yrs now...But 4m last couple of months ths handset is crating lots of problem 2me... while conneting wit laptop it automatically gets switched off more over even after single hand use also key pads are coming out 4m last5days or so the battery charging port is not working i hav 2tk out battery then i hav 2 get it charged.... n when i hav taken ths handset to samsung service centre they clearly said that we cannot repair ths.... iam very strong brand promoter of samsung i never tried any other handset other then samsung..... my question 2the company is when they discontinue any model atleast they should hav that kind of arrangemant tht service centre should resolve that problem... now i hav 2search new handset 4me...but probably ths time i hav 2think other then samsung just bcz of poor after sales services...But no doubt ths was really a fantastic handset i really loves 2keep it wid me even if its not useful to me...probably ths thing company people wont understand as they dont care 4emotional attachment of their customers....nway thanks samsung x820 4being part of my life.

i have used this phone for over three years...the only thing that i found wrong with it....it split in the middle btw the screen & the key pads...i think coz its too slim. its a wonderful phone never the less. NB: authorized vendors will always give u the original thing which should last lose to 5yrs without major issues.

I used many mobile phones before (NEC, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Palm, Siemens, Panasonic and small brand/China made). I could say X820 is my best one. It's small, light, tough, right & enough functions (for me), good looking and reliable. Last but not least, I got these good things with the really cheap price. I bought it in July 2007 (just before it's out of market)and it still works well and looks great till today.

Hi Rahul. Well X820 Games contains 2 files = 1 game. Those 2 files are JAD and JAR file. Actually u need JAR file which is the most important game installation file. The next thing u need is an uploading WAP site. U need to uplode your JAR file on the web site that supports WAP upload. And then u need to type the address of your uploaded location in the phone browser. I dont know where u could get X820 game but u can search for them. The WAP uploading sties are easily available on search. Hope this info helps u out. If u need further details Mail Me at [email protected]

Ive had the samsung x820 for a year now and must say that of all the phones that ive had (for some weird reason fones dont usually last with me for a year except this one)this one is SUPERB!!! it is very slim - never fails to make people get awed, lightweight - i have a habit of circling fones between my fingers and this one usually flies off, in connection with that VERY STURDY. ive dropped this too many times to mention, and i mean dropped-it-battery-popped-out kind of dropping. yes it is one of the old models, though still the slimmest to date but personally, it is one of Samsung's masterpieces!

Dude NASOS u could have enabled the Mobile tracer functionality which is available in the Security section in the Settings menu. That might have helped u out in finding the culprit...

I purchased a Samsung X 820 in the Uk in 2007. It made it to 2008, just. I had to send it back to the UK for repairs, because Samsung Australia were not willing to assist with one of their companies'faulty products. I have been advised by the repair company in the uK that it was irreparable. The 'fault'with the phone was in the design, in that it was made up of layered plastic that had a weak point midway that termonated at the screen top. This ended with the phone virtually breaking in half.Of course if you purchase this model be prepared to invest in $ and time to get it repaired if it fails. Other than that the phone was absolutely great technically. I am advised by the repairer in the UK that the phone is now not avalable and has been supeceded. They replaced mine with a Nokia 6500 Best of luck

Hi there Denim. Enter ==>Settings ==>Light Settings ==>Keypad Light Alter the setting to ANY TIME. This will help u out. For newbies(new mobile users), most of the guyz will have trouble in accessing and having a good feel on the device keys. It will take approx 2 months(max) to become 90% comfortable with the X820 keypad.

hello, the first time i saw it i was amaze and i buy it right away, the camera is good, the video is clear, the mp3 plays right but the problem is the keypad of this phone its not working whenever i use it at night or in the dark places i cant see the keypad because it is plat unless you memorize the keys on this phone. And another one the battery is poor. i hope you help me to fix this thing about the keypad.

Got one a week ago . Battery life so poor especially for an outdoors person like me. The superb slim size and other features ok but phone can't vibrate and ring at the same time. If you can avoid it well and good, if you're stuck with it, just enjoy the other features

I've had this phone for a year now, and i must say that i was definitely not impressed with the battery life and the fact that it can't vibrate and ring at the same time. I therefore hated the fact that i spent all my savings on it... (since i'm a mere student) However, after getting used to these two limitations, i started to love this phone. The design is brilliant and the memory is great if you compare it to the internal memory of other phones. Well done samsung!

Im using this phone for over a year now and its the best phone till date. the only problem is the memory, if it only had a memory card then this wud have been the best best phone made ever...i am satisfied by its performance but you have to be careful while using it, its fragile so dont use it roughly, be gentle:)....if you try to mess with it, it will switch off! that's another little sweetheart i missed...nice phone SAMSUNG...Good Job!

i have a titanium silver for samsung x820.. love it. the color is perfect than the black one. the thin is super thin. the difference between this and u100 is u100 already 3MP. the camera s good. mp3 player can multitasking... the ringtone can use fro mp3. but the battery is poor... i have to charge it 2x a day... ;C

This phone is fantastic does everything a phone needs to...it calls and it texts. Be wary if you are lookin got buy one though. If you are a heavy handed person, which i am on a night out its not the most solid phone. I have pretty much snapped mine in half. Its currently being held together buy two small screws located just above the battery. Its very easy to snap!!

decent phone for 8 months,screen cracked and was repaired but not the same since.after that, no keypad light, switches itself off alot. shame, hope u100 is good upgrade.

Had this phone for a year now. Works perfectly in every way.....except: About a month ago I noticed that the keypad was not lighting up. This lasted for about 2 weeks. Then surprisingly, they started lighting up again. My advice, don't put it in your back pocket, you will forget about it (it is really light and super thing) and sit on it. I must have done this a dozen times or so and caused a minute bend in it that caused the contacts to not touch. Eventually, it must have bent back and the contacts now touch. Everyone, including the technophiles with their media phones are amazing by this unit. it is literally as thin as 4 stacked pennies.

I bought this phone a year ago and have been pleased with it till now (and thats unusual for me..). Some days ago it turned out that this phone REALLY cant take any water at all. I managed to splash a few drops at it and now.. Dead. So if youre a sailor or something.. or live in rainy Bergen/Norway, stay away from x820.

Great phone, good design and size. Shame its not reliable and even worse shame about the service. Bought a new X820 in July. The LCD screen failed within twenty days. Returned the phone to Samsungs repair centre and was surprised to find they refused to cover it under the warranty. This is the last time I buy a Samsung phone or indeed any Samsung product.

FOR PEOPLE WORRIED ABOUT THE BATTERY: DO NOT leave charging overnight first charge. JUST NO! This is a Lithium battery, no need to leave overnight. In fact, if you charge it overnight you may very well damage it and get only one days use out of it! Charge it until it's "fully charged" and then another two hours. That will do. You should get more time out of the battery. Still not happy? Buy an extended battery of of eBay for $6 total.

@previous poster What kind of battery-life were you expecting? It's not even 7mm thick, it's not supposed to have an amazing battery-life! I call only once or twice a day and the battery lasts for 4 days no problems. If you call a lot, then don't buy it. Use your head! NOTE! There are extended batteries available for this phone too. 1000mah+. No features? This phone has the most features of any of the 8 phones I've had previously, except for a pda/phone I had and this one is 1/5th the size! 2mp camera with tons of functions, nice calender, picture/documentviewers, easy to use bluetooth, mp3/video-player you name it. AND 6.9mm THICK!!!! The sound could be more loud, but you can hear it well enough, unless perhaps you are a groupie and the music is too loud? Anybody else go out and buy a phone without knowing what you want? DON'T! And don't bother posting nonsense here about it either.

This is the most horrible phone i have ever purchased... It has no features and the battery life is horrible.. You cant hear the ring tone while your phone is in your pocket. The calender reminders are so weak that you cant hear.. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ... DONT BUY THIS PHONE..

Just bought it today. Charged it for 4 hours (remember people, no overnight charging whatever others say, this is Li-Po batteries.) First impressions: -I will lose it. So lightweight! -I will break it! So thin! But the build is great, and since it will fit in any shirt-pocket without weighing you down I might not lose for a few months at least. ;) Pros: -Nice screen -Nice sound (Not too loud though...) Cons: -Hard to find in black. Silver not as nice a color -No customization of the main screen except for background. The text is omnipresent. :/ -The keypad-sounds should change, but don't(!?) Don't know about the battery yet, but I'm not a heavy user so it should be ok. -------------------- Build: 10/10 Sturdy. This doesn't mean it will not break if you sit on it people Functions: 8/10 The basics and some innovation. Battery: No idea yet.

I think the X820 is the most stlish phone around, the animation is quite unique and d it is also highly pratical, the only downside is that it needs charging daily, however compromise is a factor when you have the slimmest phone in the world

I just replaced my X820 with a 3G U700 and I miss it already. I had it for more than a year and it's hard to find a single negative about it. The menus are great, the screen is gorgeous, it has more than enough memory to store 20 or 30 photos and an album of mp3's, which is plenty thanks to the best PC software I have used with any phone. Bluetooth works well and the camera takes decent photos. I am not a heavy user so I usually got 3 days from a charge. I also bought a USB charge cable from ebay for when I travel with it. One interesting aspect of it was that I never dropped it and it never fell out of my pocket, something I have always had problems with in the past. I put that down to it's size - it's too thin to work it's way out of your pocket and too well designed to cause you to have to hold it in such a way that you might drop it [which is more than I can say about my U700]. If you're looking for a good, reliable phone that covers all the bases, is robust and easy to use, I'd definitely recommend this baby. I'm keeping mine as a back-up, forever.

I've had this phone for nearly a year now, & to tell about the positives first... 1) The phone's the sleekest model I've ever seen... good to carry around, & a real eye-turner. 2) The display's stunning, great clarity 3) The menu's easy to use & navigate 4) The incoming messages get displayed real good, with emoticons for a number of words. 5) The camera's the best in the market without a doubt, much better than Nokia phones. Now for the negatives: 1) The battery backup is pathetic. No wonder they gave a backup battery set! 2) The charget is unique for this phone, & when travelling you need to carry the charger with you as none other charger fits. 3) I've tried a lot to download themes / games without success. 4) It's got a fixed internal memory of 80MB which hardly serves any purpose.

I had this mobile phone for 6 months when it broke in half. The structure is weak (made from plastic) and it broke in my pocket. They shouldn't bring these kind of slim phones on the market if they're made to break easily. After it broke, I sent it to Samsung and the guarantee DIDN'T cover it! The phone cost me �330, the repairing costs were �113,64. I don't recommend this phone to anyone.. If you want proof, feel free to email me...

Had my x820 for 6 months now and I love it. A lot of room for improvement if you are a techno junky and the interface is not always user friendly, but the size, weight and shape for larger hands are great! If you use the phone as a phone and only sometimes the rest of the gadgets then Samsung got it right for you in this one! Battery life lasts me only 2 days, but I talk a lot. Java,Camera etc. is fine, but the user interface did get to me sometimes. Suppose I got used to it. All in all - I love the size and reaction from people and the rest I can cope with. If Samsung get working on the user interface they might have a brilliant phone.

Awful, awful, awful. Had one and sent it back in 2 days because the battery is lasting less than a day. But the second one is exactly the same! And even more annoying the screan all of a sudden goes blank...then I get the message "please wait" and then it tries to start again. It has been doing this sometimes every 10 seconds. It can do it in the middle of writing a text or anytime! If anyone else getting this problem can you let me know please. Its practically unusable! It it a fault with the phone?

Why does everyone moan about phones that don't have external memory?? No one is forcing you to buy a phone with no memory card slot!! 50MB+ is enough for anyone. And if you've got a PC then you can ALWAYS back up your photos and videos to free memory on the phone. As for the MP3 players in phones; the best would have to be Sony Ericsson because I believe their phones have the best battery life, and we all know how power hungry MP3 files get! But then again you can take a dedicated music player with you if you're into a lot of music.

SSS, You can copy only to 'DOWNLOADED SOUNDS'. Then you can move the sounds to favourite sound folder, if you like. Downloaded sounds folder allows formats like mid,midi,mmf,amr etc.(select the folder in pc studio and refer the status bar) you can set only midi(polyphonic), mmf(mono) tones for alarm. NOT mp3, amr etc

there is no way you can turn the lights off while charging. most of the samsung models are of same feature. i still dont have an idea why samsung has introduced this mode of screen glowing while charging. (only samsung will be able to explain) i personally feel this mobile usage is good in cold contries (-10 deg C) where one can have a romantic chats while the phone keeps you warm.

why no one is complaining about the phone getting warm to extream hot while talking, in just couple of minutes and also get headache. anyone facing this problem, please leave your comment. Samsung is supposed to look into this matter seriously. Super slim Motorolas dont have this problem. They seem to have some kind of a insulation behind the speaker which might be preventing the heat getting transfered into our ears.

you would have to purposley use force to break this as its made of carbon fibre mixed with polyresin of somekind its not polycarbonate as usual.That said the ultra range are made of metals such as magnesium and titanium and with all other bits they are pretty high spec in all departments for the money,i am using d900 in the ultra range which cost �150 on pay as you go and from the design features and all the extra functions like vivid messaging to tv out these fones are individual..What im saying is that samsung have tried to keep up with megapixels and screen resolutions but have looked outside the box to give you screens that change with the time of day and inbuilt picsel viewer that unlike normal phones lets you view them on a tele screen plus whilst other main companys let you record in 3gp qcif res samsung trumps with mpeg4 cif size..Samsung try and fully succeed with newer & fresher features than the constant same thing others churn out,,so well done

It is a crappy phone , the batery holds only 1.5 days , when you charge the phone the display worms up. because the batery is right under it, the camera has poor qulaity, when you transfer the contacts from SIM to phone they get mixet(1st name is swiched with last name,and you can't change that, like at other phones), in short it does not worth spending money on it , I hate it .

Things i love about this phone: 1. Camera is great! 2 Megapixel. You can chnage settings like, white balance, ISO (whats that? but whatever! ), effects, frames, multi shots! 2. SLIM exterior.. Its sooo slim. its so elegant when you look at it. 3. letters when typing a msg is big and clear! 4. memory is pretty good. so far, i have 5 full songs, 20 pictures and still have a lot of space. 5. Easy phone to pc (and vice versa) transfer. Just attach the phone to the usb cable provided and youre set! 6. Super cute text icons. When someone text's you the words, love, heart, book, sleep, bored, sorry etc, an animated picture pops out in replacement of the word itself. (go to Messages, then settings,then text messages, then recieveing options, then turn on VIVID mode) What i hate about this phone: 1. Low battery. I always call, text and take pictures so the battery life of my phone always gets low. always bring your charger so you can charge at work or where ever there is a socket. haha

its really a great phone and makes one feel convinient and easy while having it in personal use.truley speaking very first day when i slipped it in my pocket and then tried to retrieve for a second r so i was stunned that its not in pocket. after using heavier symbion phones i am quite happy using a slim and sexy one. but just one problem i am facing is that it does not connect GPRS on pc via bluetooth. it gives error that" remote computer modem is out of error" while all other phones are working fine. any idea about this problem coz i dont want to leave this alim and sexy. i have checked all the settings and did a full eprom reset too but still same problem. i am using WARID GPRS in pakistan.

OOwn one for 6 months now and will buy it again. It is so convenient due to it size. no more bulky pockets. It is a phone you can forget, you feel so free with it. Do not be miss lead, it is only a phone but it does that well. It has a few things which annoy me: - cannot ring and vibrate at the same time... - outlook integration is not best - OS really sucks - too many clicks to get do something else than phone and sms (web browsing etc) - Battery life is short - 2 days on intensive call patterns - I call a lot... But let's face it, there is no device with all in one, camera, MP3/4 player, phone, internet weighting less than 80 grams and being thinner than 80 mm with the performance of a laptop and a digital camera ... If you are patient, wait for the next release - there will always be a new one ... - to get better battery life, more features like memory card slot etc. I am not so patient ;-) It is great as a small, light stylish phone. It all depends on your requirements, I do not need the gadgets, I do not use them, only the phone so why buying a brick? That works for me.

SUNNY: you must enter a pin for pairing with another bluetooth device. there is no fixed pin- just ENTER ANY DIGIT, but the SAME PIN SHOULD BE ENTERED IN THE OTHER DEVICE ALSO-thats all. after pairing, the device name will be in "my devices" list in the bluetooth menu. Until you remove it from there, you needn't enter the pin again. also you neend't remember the pin. next time you can use another. But some devices like bluetooth headset have fixed pin-usually 0000 turn off secure mode in your bluetooth settings and see whether the pin request can be deactivated(not recommended)

This is a very special fone, its just not built for everyone specially for those who use nokia or SE. Everything is great about this fone. The battery lasts at least one day with 30 minutes calls a few songs and pictures. sometimes the singnal is low but you can easily communicate. Another thing is that everyone keeps saying that this fone is fragile, well yeah its fragile because its very very thin, but also very solid because this fone is not made from plastic its made with some "carbon fibre + plastic" material, so if u use it properly it will be fine.

MANI: for finding out a contact in phone book, you neednot go to the CONTACTS. the u-search works as this: for viewing the phone number of 'MANI', press 6264 in the IDLE MODE(main screen), press the 'options' key and press '3'. (6264 - M in key6, A in key2, N in 6, I in 4) for viewing 'RAJESH', press 725374. first few letters-7253 may be enough. it is similiar to typing sms in T9 mode. when it comes to finding a contact from almost 1000 entries, the Usearch feature becomes so relevant.

Well I have one and I find it very good, the battery gives you one full day but if you use the blue tooth or play a bit around it will run out a bit fast, but if you have a car lighter charger that will do the trick. Where from? Just go on eBay & get a cigarette lighter charger for this model they even have plastic clear covers to protect the mobile which I found great! , I got mine from Hong Kong just for 1sterling. I charge it when I drive so when I am on foot I have no problems, but if you don't use it much it will last if you. if u like to play with games & sms all the time you will need to charge it before the day ends, another thing if you don't charge the mobile during the night it wont last half the next day, apart from that its a great mobile no complaints at all good sound small flat great screen privacy it a good mobile one of the best I bought, just get a cigarette charger or get a extra charger if you work in a office. Ohh it even has flight mode if you�re in a plane you can use it & not switch it off.

I like to ask anyone who knows can this mobile its SMS ring tone be changed? I have tried everything I know but cant find the way, A friend of mine has the same problem, The Ring tones are great mp3�s or another the speaker volume is just 100% I wished the phone vibrated and rang at the same time is there chance to an update in the software? Also can the date on the screen be bold I mean the date the number of the day in sunlight its hard too see.

PRINCESS: select a picture. from options select, 'set as..>caller image'. then select the phone no: you want. but you can do better. take a video of the person you want in 'limit for multimedia......' mode(from options in video mode). select the video from my files. select 'set as...' the video will appear when he/she calls. NO radio.

MANI: while charging, if the display is 'on' in 'DIM' mode, it is normal. the dim display won't cause much heating and it will consume slight power only. (in, some other models like D900, you can choose whether display is on or off during charging)

@colin make sure your pictures of 220x176 resolution. you can use some software to resize your pictures to that resolution. when i charge my x820 the light is always on as long the charger is connected, is it the same with others?

@simon you need to download opera in order to open hotmail, open mini.opera.com on your mobile and download it, then you can open any website you want. This is a great phone i just love my x820, just got it last week, the display is brilliant, the only problem is that i have to charge it every other day, but i use the camera alot and listen to many songs. with little use it can even last for 3 days

I purchased the X820 in January this year. FYI. This is one of the best phones I have ever owned. The design is fantastic, features and functions are reaaly good too. I was apprehensive about buying this phone because of the reviews I had read. Can i point out to any future buyers that the phone does not heat up when in use,there is some heat when charging; the casing is very slim hence you can feel the energy of the battery during charge, that is all. I work for Tesco Telecoms and am therefore in a position to try alot of new handsets, this is by far one of my Favourites. All of the negatve things that I heard of this phoner have in my oppion been unfounded. I bought it for the design and fell in love with the whole package.

Hi there, just got the Ultra edition of this phone and I love it, but one thing that is irritating me is that when you open the SMS inbox, it displays messages stored on the sim card first, irrespective of whether or not there are newer ones stored on the phone. ACCIOTEA: you can hear music while messaging, games etc.(not while using media files)- but notif you select a file from 'Music'. select mp3 player from applications, from options, select 'mp3 overrides other sounds', add files to playlists, then exit. music will not stop. PHILIP: no themes for this set. skin only 2-black, white. (but the black GUI is charming?). you'll find that in samsung, you'll have to lose something{themes, skins...)for gaining something(uncomparable display&videos in mp4, and excellent design)but the real worry is still to come: you can't customize sms tones-only the given tones ! any way you'll find some beautiful themes for fonts in settings>display settings>dialling fonts>fonts

for normal talk and normal usage of multimedia, battery charge lasts for 1 day. if you don't use multimedia, it may go upto 2 days or so. in India, the package comes with an extra battery and external battery charger and car charger so that you are always equipped with a full charged battery.

To MIKKUZ: still with the problem? from messages>settings>text messages, select profile settings, then find out a profile with 'default type - text', instead of 'e-mail' (or you can edit, if u want). save it and from 'current profile', select that profile-thats it. the problem solved.

when you type with the t9 and the dictionary doesn't have the word you can 'add' words. my question is.. how do you edit the list? what if i put in a word that later i wanted to remove. is it possible? i know with my k750 they have 'my words' which is where all the new t9 entries are stored which can be edited. does the x820 have the same?

i own a x820.it gives me 2 days heavy use with the 800ma li-po battery .i test for aweek n73 and i had k800 too!its the same with n73 and k800 gives me 0.5 days more.thats all.

Things which are wrong. 1) does not have an option to to change grid menu to list. 2)To send an sms it first asks you for number as i can remember them, phone book is thee steps away. 3)can change number from sim to phone but not otherway round. 4)Can not copy one mumber at a time from phone to sim. 5)over all poor software.

To Julia: I'm using x820 for the last 4 months. There is a document viewer, using which you can view(not edit)word, excel, pp slides and html, stored in the 'other files' section of the phone. also you can upload/download files using usb/bluetooth. a substitute for floppy disc (for office files). One problem is the fonts appear too small to be viewed-but you can zoom it. still, at readable size, only a few lines on screen.by zooming and scrolling you can manage it to a limit. don't think as easy as you view on laptop screen. also no slide show for ppt-just view. the phone great on design and display. no memory slot and music volume poor (esp, compared to SE phones). battery 1 day. try it.

to all consumers notice!the first battery charge must be at least all night long to 12 hours!for the start you should leave the battery charge and discharged FULL 3 TIMES!imean 3 full charge and untill the phone switch off!even if you start its never late.and time to time charge phone switched off!this is general and is for all kind of rechargable batteries!(laptops,notebooks,pda,mp3).my x 820 battery is 800ma li-po ,i follow all this rules and battery give me its 100% .heavy use and for sure 50 hours life!!!

I think this is a pretty poor designed phone for its generation. Battery life is poor: if you actually use the phone it it will hardly last a day. The screen goes completely blank if you don't use the phone; you will have to press a button to see if you have an sms or missed call. During charging it will light up your night time room; no way you can dim or turn off the screen then. Blue tooth performance is barely acceptable: uploading a 80k picture takes something like 2-3 minutes so uploading an mp3 is almost unimaginable. Sound quality during a call is also worse than the phones I used before. It seems that samsung almost comprimised everything else to archive the flatness of this phone. Don't buy it you will regret it as I do. I am re-activating my 4 year old siemens which weighted slightly more had 3 times better battery life so you don't need to charge it every day and also the audio quality was a lot better. Oh yeah and it was cheaper. Unbelievable how technology can actually worsen over time.

Leave the phone to recharge a bit longer. Don't unplug it when it says it's done, leave it about 1h more. I've noticed mine lasts about 2x more. I had a sony ericsson that had the same behaviour.

I just bought this phone for $220 from a seller on eBay and it is a fantastic phone! The amount of internal memory is fine with me, I don't need my phone to replace my iPod, I just want it to be portable and make phone calls, and it doesn't get much more portable than this. This phone is shockingly thin when you actually hold it in your hand for the first time. My only complaint about this phone is that it is Tri-band. I live in the USA and have Cingular service, where many urban areas still use the 850Ghz frequency. This is changing as Cingular (and others) roll out their new 3G networks, but it can be a problem in some areas. Generally though this pone gets excellent reception (I live in Seattle) and even when the reception shows 3 bars or lower I've never had a dropped call or reception problems during a call so far.

Just purchased this and generally impressed. However when I go to send a text message it keeps asking me to input an email address (max 50 letters) before I can start the text message and the email address is the opening line when the message is received by others. Surely this is unnecessary but I can find a way to switch this off, any ideas?

I taped 30 mins continuous video - Can play back all videos on Television through the cable provided - Excellent picture quality for photos - Display is black and beautiful - USB facility to upload photos direct from phone into computer...unparalleled - Message tones are unique - Two batteries provided DISADVANTAGES - Battery life maximum one day for normal usage - Appointments/alarms too complicated to use - Ring tones not interesting, but you can take from other phones via blue tooth - Speaker phone not very clear . its always crackled. - to see display during day time you have to stress your eyes...as the letters are very small and tough to read during day time Of course no phone is perfect in all ways. you have to lose some features to gain some. But they definitely tried to make it a good phone but somehow it did not catch up everyones interest and prices are falling every day. its a pity. Got this phone today and love it. Few queries. 1. Do I have to select T9 every time I begin to text? Can it be remembered by the phone, as in Nokia? 2. I got a Jabra BT135 along with it. But I'm only able to use it as a handsfree...doesn't play music. Any idea why? 3. Is there a simple equivalent of 'reminders' (like in Nokia)? I have had this phone for the last 4 months. As we all know, no phone is absolutely perfect, sure there is no memory slot and the battery life is horrendous. But it is a great conversational piece. Maybe that's not the most important thing to the majority, but if you can only slam a phone for battery life and memory, I'll take my chances. The picture quality is not the greatest, but then again, if you're expecting a phone to have a camera on it equal to the quality of a $300 digital camera, that's your problem. I am surprised by how well built the phone is. Already it has been dropped several times on the floor with no noticeable effects. The ringer and speaker phone is loud enough. The vibration is shaky enough. ** For the person questioning email/postal/office/fax storage, you can do that with this phone. ** Again, all watches are functionally the same, but people choose different ones for fashion reasons. Why should your phone be different? Sure the battery life is good for 2-3 days on minimal use (1-1.5 with excessive use), but what other phone fits into your shirt pocket?

When I send a photo, for example, which is 300kb, my PC will show its thumbnail but the file will usually only be about 18kb, so therefor it's just a thumb!!All my other phones work perfectly, but it seems this X820 is just sending thumbnails! This phone is so thin sometimes I don't even notice it existing in my pocket! Now that sounds cool doesn't it, however, the chances of it slipping out of your pocket are much greater as well, it's fallen out of mine once on to the floor, still workin fine, no problems, no scratches. Thia happened within the first week of me purchasing the phone, so ya! Compared to my previous phone; Motorola V620, this phone is a 100 times faster. I've compared it with my friends' Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones and even other Samsung phones and well, I gotta be honest, nothing came close to being this quick in messaging (sms). The screen is very clear & crisp. User friendly interface and speedy response in terms of terminating calls, opening menus, typing messages etc. In addition to that, it's got a very very smooth keypad. Now that's the good stuff, let me list the down sides of this phone as well. To start with, if your even thinking about buying this phone but not thinking of getting an extra battery, forget about it. You NEED an extra battery so keep those extra bucks for it. T9 has to be switched on every single time you select 'create message', this can get annoying but I guess you just need to get used to it, but still 'annoying', if you reply to a message you received T9 will be switched on, weird isn't it. There is no memory slot so you gotta live with the memory built into the phone which is not horrific but it's not amazing either, basically, if your looking for one to store 100's of mp3 songs, this phone isn't for you. Unlike other phones, the Samsung X820 has no selection of profiles, there is just one basic 'sound settings' option where you select your ringtone etc. but, it gets worse. For incoming calls you either got only melody, only vibrate or vibrate then melody, there is no option of vibrate AND melody, again, very very annoying. For messaging, you got either vibrate or melody, not both. The camera quality is good but I would say...."I've seen better". This phone is amazing and I love it but if your not willing to get used to the few flaws I've mentioned about, don't bother thinking about this phone. If your an extensive user of the cell phone, forget the Samsung X820. I, personally would not give this phone up and the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the lack of sound profiles, the rest of it, I can get used to.

I have been using the X820 for almost two weeks now. Although I was initially hesitant to get it, due to some negative feedback I saw in these reviews, I must say that the X820 is an excellent choice for those who call, SMS, use it for appointments, pictures and games. Even the occasional music playing. The ringing and speaker volumes may be a little soft in a crowded area, but are fine indoors. The camera is more than adeqaute, and certainly better than my D820. The screen, though smaller than what I was used to, is surprisingly sharp. Playing games on the X820, I hardly felt I was being stinted on screen size. And graphics were excellent. I like how the last functions I accessed within a menu were 'remembered'. And overall, the UI is extremely user-friendly. So are the options for Input Method. While space is a little wanting, I find it adequate since I use my iPod for music. Yes, the phone does heat up relatively easily, and I'm actually glad there IS a little raised section on the back; so when I place it on the table, it allows for elevation and ventilation. Great serendipitous design element there! Battery life has been fine, after the first few charges. I can now make a few calls, SMS, use the organiser, play some games and take a few camera shots during the day and the battery will only drop to two of three bars. I charge my phone each night anyway, so I have no complaints. My only grouses are that I STILL can't choose MP3s for my alarm and Message tones. And a Notepad function would be great, too. The design of this phone is simply summed up as beautifully sleek. I love this phone! Well done Samsung!

I am very impressed with this phone. I think the ringtone volume is loud enough compared to the Samsung E600 which I could never hear when it rang at any time except if the phone was in front of me. With the Samsung X820, I find that the MP3 Ringtones are of fair volume. I also think that this phone has excellent features and the picture quality is excellent. I can't comment on the battery life as yet as I have only had this phone for two days, but I don't think it will hold as long a charge as my old phone.

Hi! About some popular Samsung mobile phones: X820 : It gets easily warm while you are talking with, the lens(2Mp) and the sensor(CMOS) is the same as D600 but picture quality is not as good as D600. Besides battery performance is very poor. The TFT screen is very good but D820/D830/D600/E900�s are better. D820/D830 : High quality constructions and the screens are amazing. But battery performans are poor (especially D820). Picture quality is not so good (indoors photos are very bad, because of lack of flash) E900 : Touchsensitive control pad is very nice(especially in the dark) Poor battery performans, picture quality is not as good as D600. D820 has better slider mechanism than E900. D600 : Very good screen/battery performance/picture quality. But the lens get easily dirty and be damaged because it has no lens cover. I used Nokia: 3210, 6510, 6600, 6230i, 6630, 6681 SE: K700, K750i Panasonic: VS6 Samsung: D500, D600, D820, E900

Alright Guys. Im using this phone for 1 week now and trust me, its a amazing phone. I have no problems with screen, sound, nor battery. Its just Perfect. People say sound is not good. But belive me, when you phone will ring you will hear it. people say its slim thats why sound is less. But you do have a Viberate Alert. So you will not miss a call. I have a few questions about this phone before I buy.. i used to use a razr and lost that, now im using an LG CU500 which is just ok... here are the gripes and let me know if these are present on the X820 please: Ringer ALWAYS fades in.. its not at full volume for half the rings and then i miss calls. Voice on other end fades in when there is a silence... you miss the first word (also when its ringing on the other end each ring fades in) Speakerphone? is it loud? handsfree? Speaker.. is it loud? the CU500 is loud when calling a landline, but other cells are muted a lot more. SMS: you cant go from ABC123T9 all with just hiting one button... to go to T9 or back to ABC mode, you need to go through a small menu which I hate doing, it really slows things down. On the same line: does the T9 show the possible words at the bottom of the screen like in the RAZR and you can quickly scroll to what you want.. or can you only tap th * to flip to the next word? also.. with the Razr i could press 8 and the scroll to the "v" letter.. then the phone would make sure the word started with V.. with the CU500 i can choose the letter i want to start, but at the next button press it forgets this and goes back to using T U and V instead to start. Does the name AND number show in the phonebook? what about when someone calls? name/picture and number? or just name and picture (if set). static-y call quality? present on the cu500 poor reception? not too great on the cu500.. (and i have it forced to 2g mode).. also if i move from non-service area to a service area... it takes forever to register! those are my main gripes with the CU500 ... if they are not present on the sammy id be very very please and would get one this week. camera quality and memory arent too concerning.. id just upload them to my PC if i needed to clear room. How is the bluetooth? easy to transfer files? Does it sync with outlook calendar? Thanks to anyone that can help

what is it with mobile phone makers. they make a phone where the obvious feature would be to have expandable memory. But no lets make the sales of a few thousand units then we will fool people into buying the next extactly same model but with expandable memory. Bollocks!!!! my advice dont rush out and buy the first editions wait a couple of months for the next one. you know they will bring a new version of it out anyway. Now that its winter I guess this phone will keep you warm, if you have alot of friends. I guess I never thought about the fact that thin phones have the same amount of heat as normal ones but less area to distribute that heat. Samsung (and the likes of motorola etc.) should seriously consider going into building radiators using mobile phone technologies at this rate. I mean imagine this, a cold winters day, yourlistening to your MP3's and playing a game on the bus, Buts its freezing cold. ah ha lets switch the radiator on my phone... ahhhh thats better. ( sorry about the sarcasm)

it's true, this phone gets hot like a hot pan in the extended conversation one can cook an omlette over the ear piece area. it also gives me terrible headache. i just wanna get rid of this stupid mobile and have decided not to ever venture to go in for thin models. not only this model any thin models have the same problem. i own an VK 2000 bought from Thailand and has the same problem. i feel a raditor has to be installed on these mobiles. thin phones pose excellent cosmetic looks for fashion goers but they are not really pratical. people who are looking to buy slim models should think it over again.

hey....has anyone noticed that this model gets hot near the ear piece and the screen and gives sort of a pain in the head and neck and will stay for sometime. i haven't faced this problem in my Nokias - 6100 and 6310i. i use my samsung for my evening out. i feel the thinness is the only cosmetic value for this model. by the way what's the SAR value??

Nice one but few probs. The keypad light is not working anymore. The camera is brilliant but the lens got ewasily scrached and is too exposed thus can be broken. There is no expandable memory and Radio.

I like this phone for its design. But is it just me or does the X820's speaker simply SUCKS?? the sound it provides is so soft its barely enough for the ringtone. i have the volume all the way up to 7, and it's as loud as a 4 on the Moto SLVR. you can imagine how embarass I was when my girlfriend's SLVR's speaker drowns my brand new X820's teenie weenie noise. is there something im missing?? please help. i can't hear the ringtones at all when im out in the open, or even in a room with a medium number of people. and the alarm isnt enough either. i dont think it'll be able to wake me up. this phone's sound can't be worse than my old Nokia 6100's sound... can it...??? any opinions will be appreciated. looks like my phone came from Europe somewhere cause it booted up in French. Also, should there have been a USB provided? cause mine didn't have one... :(

@boy pagod Ahh I knew T-mobile would do that. They have added a memory card but took out other cool features. Anyways the same thing happned to D820 and there was a way around. Change the file extension from mp3 to 3gp. It worked in D820...dont know if it will work here as well or not. But try it. If it works, then plz post the result, some others might need that help soon. thanks

Hi excellent phone, who said it was fragile!? phone is very durable (D900 seems more fragile) dropped it onto concrete and no reaction, just got rid of nokia 6280 now THAT was a fragile phone!! would have liked a memory card but can live without it i have my ipod...........only bad thing is in the UK you do not get a usb cable or t.v out in the box! thought the ultra were meant to be the high end samsung phones they could at least have included these!

This is a good buy if you do not need to put in music and videos. The memory is set to 80mb which is quite good for at least 20songs max.This phone can handle music and video with good sound and picture quality.

well it has its own unique sexy look but the battery hardly last for 24 hrs and that will make you suffer if one day you have a lot of calls to be made it wont last for more than 1 hr talking if its fully charged, but at the end its the cost for you to be unique! and i paid it lol

The calender function SUCKS. The manual tells you that it is possible to program a reminder (with an alarm); however, the phone does not even provide that option. Plus try setting any reminder--it does not work. Extremely POOOOR Battery life

I just got one of these, and think it's great. I (as many of us?) have an iPod, so who cares about memory card slots? Equally, no flash light - but I have a camera for taking pictures with! Even phones with a flash light will never take pictures as good as a proper sized lens. No profiles? Who cares? How many of us really need anything other than 'ring' and 'don't ring'? Well, I guess ring/vibrate/silent would have been nice. Perhaps there will be a firmware update. Oh, MP3s can be set as ringtones. The screen is large and clear, buttons (except i button but it still works OK) are easy to use unlike my old RAZR. SMS texting is easy unlike RAZR. Although it takes too many clicks to put a phone book contact as an SMS recipient. Menus are clear and simple and easily navigated. Battery life so far only one and a half days (first charge req'd), but I have been playing a lot including bluetooth. Also new battery will not yet be optimised, they usually get better until about charge 10. So if it lasts 2 days or max 3, that will be about the same as my old RAZR, so totally acceptable. Reception seems fine after this short trial. (Vodafone UK) Problems: - only two phonebook entries displayed at a time, can't seem to change contact display style. Then again, good search function (unlike motorola even with upgraded firmware). - no ring/vibrate together (but this is really not the end of the world) - poor battery life Above all, this phone really is incredibly thin.

Batt Life Very Bad Nice features...the 3D SMS mode is very fancy. When a Call ends an annoying noice it give out.Cannot take it off. Nice to have...fits well even in you shirt pocket. I have had this phone (x820 unlocked triband) for about 6 weeks. I use with Cingular in Chicago and in the metro area, I have few problems with reception (the same spots I have issues with even with a quad band phone like my old d600). If you live outside of a metro area, you may need the 850 frequency, but tmobile's version has this. The unlocked version rocks. as for the connection and disconnect tones, settings->sound settings->extra tones->connection tone (uncheck) and it will shut off the tone on connect and disconnect. READ YOUR MANUALS!!! :)

Looks great of course. Battery life not great. BUT one horrible, health threatening thing ! When a call ends the phone emits a 4 note tone - if your ear happens to be at the phone at that time you are deafened. It's terrible. The first time it happened to me my ears were ringing for an hour. Please how can you switch this thing off ? I have been through the phone options and can't find out how.

Just to add a few more words. Its NOT true that a triband phone wont work with Cingular or will work fine with T-mobile.They both has 1900mhz. Cingular and T-mobile are working on the 850mgz network in US for some time now. Cingular is in a better position and all their phones are quadband now. With 850mhz you get better reception. T-mobile was lagging on that... they mostly had 1900mhz network..but now they are catching up and all upcmong phones will have 850mhz as well. So its better to buy a qardband phone in US to get full bar.

See if you can send it back or sell it to someone or something. All the best. I dont know why they make tribad phones in the first place. IJust bought this phone in Holland, and did not know that this phone is a tri band. I'm having a lot of problem with optimal reception. I loose calls all the time. I have full bars and then it's gone. Is it because it's a tri band phone? My carrier is cingular. I saw someone mentiond of T-Mobile that it works. I live in the US, Washington area. Andy, you're suppose to push back at the rear of the battery cover...it's hard to push from anywhere else. This is actually a really nice phone...really nice screen and functions really well. My only problem is that I have cingular and didn't realize that Cingular needs the 850mhz to opperate at optimal reception. i have purchased x820 3 days back and i am loving it too slim eye catching excelent screen and extreamly friendly user interface, with powerfull options, but the battery is not good really, plus i got a problem in this phone for which i already have a solution every time it occours and that is when ever i am on call if i open some messege and read it after that the person on call can hear me but i cant untill i go back to main screen and press the volume key up and down which is really bad, but i still love this camera fits with in my pocket and with great screen and camera results even in case of video though the memory should be atleast 128 with kind a slim set one can really love

Hi, I bought this phone 2 days ago. I'm still playing with it, made a few calls, no problems. Samsung has made quite an effort to put this many features into a phone this thin. It's easy to use too. All I can say to those of you who want a video recorder , MP3 player, 5 megapixel camera, play station, memory slot, etc should remember this is an ultra thin phone, and we are in mid 2006. "Tricorders", and" beam me up Scotty" is not real yet.... I myself am very pleased with it, fits in my wallet , has a lot of functions, the screen is excellent. I guess it could have had an automatic turn off , and turn on function for example 12:00-am - 7am , that would have compensated a bit for the small battery size, but I can turn it off manually. I suggest to all who want to buy any kind of mobile phone to check with the manufacturers web site beforehand (they usually have manuals you can read before buying the phone ) I took the time to read the manual, and therefore wasn't dissapointed in my Samsung x20, it had everything I expected from the manual.

Hi everybody, I have few complaints to ask to you. I bought this phone a week ago.After reviewing all the information that i get from the internet. Its really a great phone. But. Battery life is shot for business cases. And do someone know if I can charge my phone from USB(PC) i couldnt get any info about that. I plug my phone to my pc and can make transfer from both sides. but no charge from USB. Do someone know that it would be a driver problem. And for myself a secound issue that i dont like when i import a photo from my pc. there is no option to fit the image to screen. its bad to see spaces on the screen. I try to avoid posting here nowadays. Nothing personal, its just that there are too many childish remarks from time-wasters who can't afford to buy anything for themselves in the first place. I have a number of gsm phones, ranging from I-mate, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia and LG. So before you start with your pointless comments, I'll let you know now that I've used most of these popular devices way before they became popular. I've owned this phone for a few months now and I really love it. Its a beauty to look at and it works VERY well. However, the battery life is truly a joke (I had to get a spare battery from Plemix) and I don't like that it can't ring and vibrate simultaneously (Ring THEN Vibrate is the best you get). Someone here mentioned jpegs not showing. I'm able to get GIFs and JPEGs to work as my wallpaper, but you'll need to resize them to 220 x 176 for optimal veiw because for the screen size/design. I'd say more, but the phone has already been reviewed here. I will tell you all point blank...this is my favorite phone right now and for a guy like me who swaps out his phones almost every 3 weeks...that's saying a lot. Peace and Love to you all.

The phone itself offers a real slim look and has lot of currently popular and user friendly features, however being a heavy user, the battery is a main thorn in the back of the phone as it lasts almost not more then a day which makes it a lesser choice for a heavy phone user like me despite its other attractions. Secondly no notes feature and no themes to download.

hi people i have just got this phone, i am trying to get on the internet. it opens the hotmail home page, but i cant type in my address or password and open my account. it then comes up with a page saying that the browser doesnt support the java script. is it not possible to go to hotmail on this phone? is this a settings problem from my provider or is it a phone problem. strange as i can go and check my email on my old samsung d500. help please. cheers

I have been using this phone for 5 days. Excellent performances and features. Battery life is a bit short, about 2 days. Luckily my package comes with two batteries and it can be charged by itself with a charging box. SO I can use the phone while the other battery is still charging. The camera is a disappointment for 2MP.

TV output -- I believe it's where you hook up your phone to the TV. You can view pictures on your TV or something like that... I believe that's what it says about the samsung D600 when it mentioned the TV output. BTW, my boyfriend bought this phone. It's definitely worth the money. It makes a statement as the thinnest phone in the world. Plus, it hasn't gotten scratched yet and he puts it in his pocket all the time. :] I need to get one as well, after my plan ends. ;]

well, i had this phone for couple of days now and it seems to be pretty good . battery life can last pretty ok without using bluetooth so offen . as far as screen and sound wise . clear screen , loud & clear as for sound . easy function . no extra hole for cellphone charms to hang . with most of th samsung phone the function are pretty easy to deal with . is pretty worth the money . the box does come with 2 battery ( 1 extra battery ) so i did not have too much issue with battery

This phone is a wanna be Motorola SLVR. It may be thinner but looks cheap. It looks like a shim. Samsung needs to stop copying Motorola and come up with their own ideas if they want to impress anybody. They are the best at copying designs. Motorola is the best brand.

got this phone yesterday after being so tired of samsung e900 , the phone is slim looking and very thin but i was disappointed when i realize the phone has no little holes to put in a phone decoration tassel ( those phone necklace thing ) default ringtone are hard to hard so i bluetooth my own music and it was working very well , loud & clear , the images part some image can not be full screen which i was a bit disappointed but quite clear and i hate it when the date bar is covering some of the wallpaper portion . function wise .. is good just like most of samsung phone .simple to used ! 80mb super great got lots of storage for song & image , overall i would say for the money i pay for i guess this would consider very well done

Had this for about 3 weeks. It's flawless - I got it because, after having a d600, I realized I didn't use the features. I use the camera when I am out - 2mp is decent, and I end up viewing mostly on the phone anyway. I text alot - this phone is solid for texting. I call people - and it has great sound quality and solid reception (I live in chicago) despite not being quad-band. Better reception than my d600, and comp to my d500. Some web browsing - opera mini works very well on here. I like this phone because it has all the features I use, and when its in my pocket - I dont even notice it. front pocket (so I dont sit on it) and go! And - being a fashion phone (I guess) it gets a lot of interest from people ;) my only issue is configuring my email client. I have not been able to get this to work yet :(

this may be thinnest phone around, but it's also longer and wider than most "candybar" shaped phones. they should have kept it at 100mm long, like the Sony W810 and other similar phones otherwise there's not much advantage if you compare sizes by measuring the volume instead of just thickness.

Hi Guys, I have this phone for 2 days now - absolutely love it - HOWEVER (Yes there is a Fancy BUT) there is a small buzzing sound that the other person can hear when I am taking... this is very irritating - don't know if I got a lemon or its an issue with the entire series... i use this phone a lot for messaging and the battery easily lasts me 3 days. to increase battery life, screen brightness can be reduced and keyboard light can be set set to be used only between certain times. had D600 before which had an awful battery life (I'm talking half a day). x820 screen is amazing and menu comes in "black" and "white" and is very modern - not the usual samsung menu.

Here are the things I don't like about the phone. (had it for 2 days) 1. Battery Life is SHORT!!! (you need a charger @ home/car/office) 2. All Contacts are listed in phonebook insted of just primary name. 3. Cannot assign a funciton to the Soft-Keys 4. Video record time is short! 5. You can't creat shortcuts for a lot of items. 6. No Memory Slot Sometimes i think it's too thin! If the entire phone was as thick as the camera end, it would still be sexy and hot and improved all the above issues.

This model will come out to Tmobile USA under Samsung SGH-T619. Exactly the same but different color (gray instead of black). Tmobile will also come out with another slimmer slider much like the D820 they currently have out right now. I have no exact time when Tmobile will release these phones. But im hoping sometime this fall. I really wanna get my hands on it.

Sabri - I put it in the front pocket and dont have any worries about it breaking. Just dont lean on anything to make sure. It's easy to forget you even have it as its so light and unobtrusive. you can text with the mp3 on. Just no bluetooth or tv out with the mp3 on. its in the manual

I bought the x820 a few days now and I can honestly say that it�s perfect in every way! It makes my old phone (Motorola v3) look like yesterdays news�.And it is! Comparing the size, features, and refreshing new trendy style of x820; other slim mobile phones at this moment, cannot compete! only set backs are that it does not accept a memory card, so your stuck with a 80mb phone and its fragile so you must look after it carefully!

I got this yesterday and have spent the better part of the last 12 hours messing around. The build quality is good, the screen is very good - I had a d500, d600 and s500i and this is somewhere in the middle of the d500 and d600. Sharp and clear, better than the d500 even though they have the same resolution (probably due to the reworked UI), and not quite as nice as 240x320. Texting is a breeze, my only concern is the internal antenna - the signal seems to jump around a bit - however, call quality is good. I left myself a vmail on a different line with 1 bar's worth of reception and the message was crystal clear. Strange, but no complaints. I llive in a metro area, so availablility of the 1900 signal for Cingular is pretty solid. My only issue is that 1 day after I get it, tmobile comes out with a quadband version. If there is any justice in the world, they will cripple it (like the t809 versioning of the D820) and I won't feel as bad about buying the x820. Otherwise - its great and ridiculously slim and solid-feeling. Some tips for battery life - turn down the screen brightness to 3 and shut off bluetooth when you dont use it. I did the same with my D600 and easily got another day of use out of it without having to charge it. Haha...one note - my girlfriend and her friends saw it and started cooing and asking me if they made it in pink. Samsung - listen up - MAKE THIS IN PINK too and I guarantee that it will be a huge seller.

Hi every one who is worry about battery, when u will buy new mobile the battery need conditioning in order to change chemical enerny into electrical energy, the conditing method is to charge it for at least 12 to 16 hours for first time and use it till is goes tottaly emty, now only charge it compelet and use it upto compelet discharge, three or four charge and discharge cycle will take the battery to its maximum, thereafter you can note the battery timing which will be batter that you expect.

But dont buy if you are a heavy user.

The batter will give you a talk time of 2hours..If you use your phone lightly all day you might use up one bar or two..My suggestion would be to charge it up every night while you sleep..After all that's what i do with my phones...and you should be fine.. Do not buy this phone however if you are a heavy user...Yesterday i used my phone for video's, camera, and many short calls as well as bluetooth and by the end of the day it was down by one bar...so not bad...after all the batery is soo thin its amazing it only went down by a bar... As for getting a free battery, you only get one batter with the phone...Not sure about if you get a free one with the charger...

By saying that i'm not talking about the camera or memory, but the phone itself, the menu, the ease of use and the options available are simply amazing! If your not a heavy user or do not have a million numbers then this phone is a must buy! For someone like me who is very perticular about phones, trust me you won't regret this..As for the reception, i have herd a lot of negative comments, but reception with me is perfect like my nokia N70! Down sides to the phone? 1) Light stays on with charging, 2) Does not vibrate and ring and the same time 3) No flash with camera (but how did they fit in a 2MP camera in there in the first place? WOW) 4) no memory card but has 80MB!! 5) it's so slim and light you'll forget its in your pocket so you might spend hours looking for it around the house. 6) Battery life is good but not great..but then again i had a frind who thought the phone was a battery from how slim it was!!! And that is it really...The negative sides are so insignificant and that is if your really picky..but they are so many phones out there (other than Nokia) that have many more negative points to them and they are so bluky and big.....This is definately and must buy and once you have it, you'll wonder what you were doing without it!!

hi all i got this phone 2 dayz ago..it got alot of problems...the most important is the battery life :S...i'll be generous if i said it lasts for a day...the other things : keypad tone stays as beep whenever i change them...the screenlight is on through the charging process...sthg wrong with the reception...the phone cant vibrate while ringing,only vibrate then ring...and im sure ill discover more and more...i adore its slimmnes and i dont want 2 change it :(

Juz got mine yesterday. TIll now i think its a great buy. First of all the phone is not slow. Thats most important to me. All I can say about this phone is, its built for people the think simple. Just use it dont think so much. The only two things i dislike is the message does not come with virbration and ringtone, and while charging, the LCD is on thru out the charging time. Afterall i rate it 8/10. Good job Samsung team.

I don't know why all of you are expecting so much out of this phone! Every phone has a purpose and targets a specific type/range of people. This phone is meant for light users who want something thin to slide in their pockets so it does not bludge out.. Not only have Samsung provided that but they added a 2MP camera and a vibrating phone... If you want something more professional then go for the Nokia N-Series or the Sony Ericsson.. If you go out to buy a smart, you buy one so that you can park it anywhere and get around easily in town, but you cannot buy it expecting it to be a Land rover fully optioned! All in all I would say this phone is amazing for those who want a light-weight stylish phone to slide in their pockets and use moderately throughout the day�I would also go further by saying that this is an amazing secondary phone. By secondary I mean that today�s world is very demanding and ones needs a powerful/multi-functional phone like the Nokia N-Series. However if you have more than one sim-card or a sim-card in a different country where you do not use your phone heavily and want something stylish then I would definitely recommend this phone. One might argue that the Motorola Razor is better and more stylish, but it�s a flip phone..and for those of you who don�t like flip phones, then this is the phone for you!

Talking nonsense.........why not buy a quadband phone?.......this phone is only triband! Even in small cities in the USA; they have the same service provider. The only reason you don't get signal because of no reception in that area!!!

True, it does't matter to anyone who are living in Asia/Europe. A triband or Quadband phone always has 900mhz/1800mhz. So its not a problem unless you are visiting USA. In USA the frequsncies are 850mhz/1900mhz. Triband phone has 1900mhz. Its ok if you are staying in a major city. But when you going to other states there is no 1900mhz network and you wont have signal at all unless you are using quadband phone with 850mhz support. Does that make sense!. I have triband phone and when i go for long drive or visit some places..sometime I dont have network. If I have a quadband phone I will always have fullbar.

I bought mine and 1 week of use now. Good as a phone and the menu is fast. Bought for its slim + 66 gm light weight. Usually put it on on shirt pocket and it didn't feel a thing. My previous pda phone is O2 mini which is fine except it is heavy and thick. Bulge in the shirt pocket. I am 57 years old and didnt feel inconvenience holding it in the hand and inputting letters. Happy with mine.

For GSM phones in US, it has got everything to do with triband or quadband. I'm sorry about you, but Im very happy with all my samsung phones. This is a x820 forum, so if you have nothing to discuss about this model..move on!! try some other brands. you had bad luck that doesnt mean everyone will.

@ both of you There is absuolutely nothing worng with Samsung phones. Pay attention. The models you used before SonyEricsson T630 (US version T637) and RAZR both supports 850mhz and 1900mhz.So you had stronger singnals. x820 is a triband phone, it doesnt support 850 network. In the US there are many places where only 850 works. Same goes with E770 & P300. Both are triband with 1900mhz for US only. So either get a Quadband phone or move to city. It has nothing to do with samsung models. peace.

I bought this phone yesterday. Something must be wrong. There's absolutely "no service" or so called "limited service" ("emergency calls only", if you try to dial any number) just at the same spot where my two other phones SonyEricsson T630 and RAZR have full signal. I checked the network selection setting. It's on "automatic". Any ideas why? The explanation that I'm stupid and don't know how to use phones is not accepted: I've had many phones before this one, and know a thing or two about how they work... Even in the US, which in terms of mobile communication is still in the Stone Age, even compared to some developing countries...

Its amazing. Simply awsome. The moment you hold it in your hand you begin to feel the attraction. Sheer enjoyment. While holding this 6.9mm gadget is like holding futuristic gadget in your hand. I brought it because it was thin. The look never impress me! The phone a bit too long & wide. The ring tone volume too quiet. There is only vib. then ring and not vib. & ring. With some service providers, Samsung phones cannot cannot show the icon when you have your line diverted!!! Samsung are not making good / innovative phones like they used to!!!

Just got the x820 I have e900 and d820 This is what I preffer to use on a daily basis and battery life is resonable nothing compared to other samsungs but with a good first charge I am getting 2 to 2and1/2 hrs usually every day and when i am on my wep 200 bluetooth headset then this phone is good 4 two days . Best Yet Needed a Flash 4 2mp

I have been using the phone for a week now. The battery life is not that good. It lasted for about 18 hours with a few phone calls and web browsing. I haven't tried talking on the phone for too long, but I think it'll only have about 1-1.5 hours of talk time.

Honestly, dont be foolish, I have the phone, its not 2 hours talk time...they wouldn't release it if that's what it was. The only big negative there is; reception on the phone is faulty...i bought three of these phones (for myself and friends), and all of us have problems with reception. The bars just jump up and down and sometimes your phone calls are lost where everyone else has perfect reception. I think they have a software issue with the phone

I JUST GOT MINE! I love it! it's totally amazing! A couple things I need to clear up about this phone: 1) The screen is NOT too small, its actually pretty big 2) The Resolution on the screen is also amazing...it has FANTASTIC colour contrast and brightness, and high resolution. 3)The Photos taken with the camera ARE a little dull, and often unfocused. 4) The SOUND QUALITY durring phone conversations is a LOT worse than I anticipated...I had the Nokia 7280 and the sound quality was A LOT Better on that one... Let me know if anyone else has any questions...All in all, I LOVE the phone. Its simple and not too flashy.

According to Samsung, the X820 will be released in Russia first "some time" this month (June), followed by other markets (like Europe) shortly afterwards. I would expect this phone to be released in the UK around July/August time. I was thinking about getting the Nokia N73, but while the latter has some better quirks (like better camera/screen/symbian, etc), this thing might have forced me into changing my mind due to its ultra cool, non-geeky design. Nokia is yet to produce such a thing, catering instead for the boring, conservative, by-the-book businessman or the billy-no-friends geek (N80 wi-fi is testament to this)....

It is a cool phone! (apart from the bump). Amazing that all this - including a removeable battery has been sqeezed in. Note the weight: 66g!!!! I wonder when we will see a phone like this with a 'lockable' double-hinge in the middle!! This way the same phone could apeal to both fans of bar-phones and clamshells.... If you -in theory- bend this X820 over you would get a phone physically smaller than the V3... With more modern features.

This is sort of a technology demonstration, that Samsung can put everything in a 6.6mm phone.And they did it. Whatever it has, is more than enough, no one else is offering that. Its not meant for gaming. Its not a music phone either. So stop complaing about card slot.You cant have all in 6.6mm. There are other models to go for all those. L6/7, VK series they all have VGA cams and still its over 8-11mm.And here you are getting 2 mp. Now someone will say, everything is fine but its not smart phone...I mean guys, just live with it.The whole point is its the slimmest and lightest phone till date. But Honestly Samsung is taking this slim-game too seriously. They have proved there point and should stop going below 6.6mm.

just played with the phone and didnt rate it at all, for a start its too thin, it dosnt feel confortable in the hand, even more if you try to play a game on it with 2 hands, the keys look tacky and plastic the screen gives you a headache after a while, the camera is a dissapointment and at the end of the day its a Samsung!!! what more can I say?
