Nice phone.Still Camera is one of the bests in 2 megapixel category.Internet speed is fantastic. I have bought this phone in December2007.Still(November 2009) running well without any problem.This phone never got hang.You can still get many features like bluetooth,video call etc.Keypad is fantastic.no hard push is required.phone is strong and durable.only problem there is in battery life

Z560 vs. SE z610 It is better equipped than SE Z610 (HSDPA, auto focus), but SE is generally IMHO much much better. More user friendly, better menus, file handling, better phonebook, T9, etc. But Z560 looks more elegant while SE Z610 is little bit youth oriented.

I have just lost my z560 cell phone to water damage after almost 2 years of takin it everywhere with me (including where most other people leave their phones behind). The phone has stubbornly refused to die on each instant it has been dropped, crushed,and water splashed on it.Even finally when it did die (only because i fully dropped it into ocean water). It still managed to keep my memory card damage free. (the key pad still illuminates!). Awesome phone!! hope samsung continues to make products like this. My only complaint is battery life, but then again i take heaps of videos and pics

If this Z560 is the real name for the Samsung A706 I got from Rogers Wireless in Canada, then it is the second best flip phone I've ever had; N93i being the best. It's so perfectly balanced, that flipped open on its back, it will spin for a long time with little effort, friction nor wobble; and when flipped closed, standing up virtically on its bottom end, it can rock side to side & even spin around by itself without falling over, when recieving a call on vibrate. My point? A very well balanced phone feels perfect in your hand. Other than that, it dial pad (bottom half of the phone) looks great & illuminates for night use; and the buttons are big enough & well spaced for use with real man sized thumbs, but it doesn't look retard big, it looks "Business Sexy," Screen size & quality are excellent. Camera sucks compared to any 2007 or later Sony Ericsson phone of same megapixel. Thouch buttons on front is needless gimic, I never use them. I hate all headphone jacks that aren't 3.5mm stereo jacks; but these days, who needs jacks when we have bluetooth stereo which this uses :) Excellent phone. Highly Recomended. Everyone I know wants one, but they cant get one because for some reason Rogers stopped carrying them. ps. I've had mine for over a year and it's still working fine, never set for repair. I've even spilled lemonaid on it while flipped open. I shook it violently to get the liquid out & dried it with my hot stinky breath, and the phone still works perfectly. Also, I've dropped it 3 times from belly height & once from 8 feet & it didn't crack nor glitch. If Samsung would release a new version of this phone with the camera quality of Sony Ericsson phones, I'd buy it for sure.

Hey everybody. I�m about to buy this cellphone (here in Argentina is called Samsung A706 a.k.a. Z560.. and here is quadband). Well, I�d like to know if i will be able to install the MSN messenger on this cell. For example (and, ok, i know... Nokia software and Symbian are different) i had the Nokia N75, also with 3G technology, and i never had any kind of problems installing the msn messenger application. So, if anybody knows if this is possible AND if anybody knows if i will be able to record conversations (as the Nokia 6131), i will thnxs for the answer. Byz!

I got this phone in Argentina (A706 Really). To turn on the EXTERNAL DISPLAY you only need to press 2 secs the VOLUME CONTROLS and it turns on. The Only problem i have (is not the phone, is the firmware really) is to MINIMIZE NETFRONT and JAVA, the phone doesn't got this feature.

I'm using one now in Chile, the model is named "A706" here also. HSDPA works well with Entel operator. The external buttons work very good for me, but they are alost totally useless, because the media player is a pity.

Very good phone. Superb display, the best I've ever seen. The only stupid thing is touch buttons on external display - sometimes works, sometimes not. But mostly not. My opinion: 9/10 pts. Question for guys from Samsung: Why this phone hasn't FM radio? Shame on you!

I have a crush on this phone when i first saw it! Trust me, I've use every function of this phone so I can give a detail answer! Pro-1.Nice and slim design. very light to carry. 2.The Illuminating light-touch is very cool. My opinion ========================= i got this phone about 4 moths ago....and now its freeze...thats what i get for thrying to be a wise guy...but!!!! i tested the phone and this i what i think.. The Pros ============ -its a very nice phone has a nice cam 2mps with autofocus...and the autofocus makes all the difderence...believe me. -has a very nice MP3 playback...better then a lot of mp3 players lying around. -very nice screen with nice colors...i have a panasonic vs2 that has 1.6M colors and the same resoution and i dont see diferences -it works as a computer modem.... you plug the phone to the computer and can suft the web...and its quite fast. - very nice keypad -reads excel files, word files, HTML and PDF files. - has 2 bateries, USB cable, and head phones included + a very nice manual - it lets you hear your call prety decently...but its better with the headphones The Cons ============= -very small batery life but there are 2 of them -its not multitask only on the preselected tasks in the button above the off botton -does not let you organize your files because it has preselected folders, or install games directely from the phone. the games have to be uploaded to a server the acceced from the phone. -gets kinda slow on the media player and on the playlist....my is still very movable. - the size...but it has to be because of the screen that is also huge and very nice Overall ============ A very nice buy.... its a solid phone with some good tecnology on it...on a very decent price range =================== design 7.5\10 features 8.0\10 performance 8.3\10 ==================== final score 8.5 out of 10

I only remove it from charge once the phone is fully charged. 23 Days ago I unplugged the phone from charge and it went dead. I can't switch it on and when I plug the phone back in to either USB or travel charger, it does nothing. This happened about 4 months ago with another battery....same story.

20 MB is nothing. You can put few photos on it or two MP3's. Buy 1 GB microSD card. They are really cheap now. Don't buy 2 GB or more, they are not supported.

I love this phone. Great feutures, easy to use etc. The only trouble I have is that it loses its ringtones & keytones every couple of days and I have to turn it off & on again for it to work. Otherwise it will just vibrate. Other than that it is great. :)

I have found this handset to be appauling. Poor clarity in sound quality with a consistent haze present in the screen. Thumb down Samsung ... THUMBS DOWN It turns of a solid flip handset, I would alternatively suggest the Lika Sendi Waye.

@Jenny Yes this is normal.The same happened to me Only after you have charged the phone at list 10-15 times battery life will become normal which means 2 days if you don't speak too much.

I just got a Samsung Z560. I just a got a problem with the battery life span. Charging takes at least 2hours for a full battery charged and this lasts for only 6 hours - with less than 1 hour talking time. Is this normal? Are there any external charger for the batteries and is there a fast charger available here in the philippines? Thank you.

I saw this phone in Malaysia recently. The built quality is impressive, made in Korea and very good and soild feel. I was planning to buy a Motorola V6 but when I saw this one, I decided to go for the Samsung. They have much better relibility record than other brands. I recommend this phone to all 3G users.

since this is Samsung's first HSDPA phone and an awardee for the best 3GSM phone with K800 so this is really great. but i found it's specs similar to the new SE Z750. samsung users i know, this has autofocus and external color display so this is better. but i really doubt he battery life of this model to be superior against SE's HSDPA phone. so far i hope samsung to continue strengthening it's excellent phones.

siimplenetuser: The phone gets warm when you are charging the battery, , when watching tv via internet but not when you are using the camera or making phone calls, (even when you speak a lot). In general the is a small hot pressure but it is not very important.It is something common in most handsets, but because of the thinness of this model you can feel it more. Also, there is not a multitasking process, which I think the most serious disadvantage of this phone. Camera is pretty good for it's class .Not like k800, but this is not an imaging phone

Just bought a Z560 and love it but was dissapointed when the max download speed when act as a modem for my laptop via USB cable on a 3G network is only 230.4kb when with the same network provider can hit a 384 kb using a data card with the same laptop and at the same location. Found out that at the driver settings in device manager, the max speed for this phone is only 230.4kb. Ridiculous to have claim as a HSPDA phone when it can only hit such a low speed, better off with a cheaper option 3G phones. I am from Malaysia using Celcom 3G

I'm almost convinced of buying this phone. Just one last consideration: In the demo unit that I used in the Samsung store, I felt that the upper back part of the phone heats up after just a few minutes of use. I tried all its features including internet browsing and the camera. Im not sure what could have caused it to get warm. Could anybody please share your thoughts on this potential "heat issue" ? yes it has a phone lock & you can individually lock all the features, ie messages, contacts, files. Also has an overall phone or/and sim lock so it wont turn on unless you enter the pin. No flash Yes mem card Music files need to be mp3, otherwise it will say 'unsupported action' fantastic phone, full & fast internet cant fault it at all. Batteries doesnt last long with heavy usage but you just need to charge it every few days to keep it going. One of my best purchases in a long time!

aka SGH-A701. Hi all lot of info please read may assist. No this phone does not have a keyboard lock. It does have a call barring facility this can stop incoming outgoing voice data and video calls check manual. In phone its in Menu > Settings > [5] Call > [3] Barring In the manual it states it is a service provider function and you will have to get the password from in Australia I'm with Telstra. Be Warned I've taken over 5 hours talking to telstra 3 to get it going and after working for a week it locked the bar on SMS MMS and Telstra and the other two to get the sms and mms going again. Telstra in Australia claim they know their network well I do not agree as this phone's barring is done at the exchange not in the phone, only two people I got on to know this, the second was the tech whom gave me a new password from the exchange as the network for some reason rejected the original code. The phone is well fairly good however the service providers claim all functions are phone based and they will not belive they or the network is at fault they say this without reading the manual if they do then they start to very slowly get the message. It should have a simple phone lock like nokia's or even the motorolla v3 has a phone lock that you have to enter a code before you can acess the keypad, this phone has sort of similar but is a real pain as you have to enter the password every time you want to do a different job, or call a number and stops all incoming calls, and outgoing. The call barring facility can just stop all outgoing calls and is a better option but be warned as above. Telsra and the majority of its employees do not know how this feature works, they may try to get you to call samsung I did for three ours and talked to their head tech, about this problem and he said I had to get a four digit password from my service provider as stated in the manual, they do not have a simple or any keylock facilities I even suggested the do a flash upgrade for users wom want to have this facility they won't. Hope this helps. I may be able to give some help but please be patient as the email address is not my primary one and i only check it once a month or so.

Hi, Does anyone know if this phone has a keypad lock feature? The feature locks the phone so it cant be used whilst its on. Its still accepts calls and messages, but the menu's, calling people and reading messages etc are not allowed until u enter the unlock code on the screen. Does this feature exist in this phone? Does anyone know of any other phones that have this feature? Its just that my annoying little brother is always going thru my phone and reading my messages etc and sending random pics to my mates... My boyfriend had this phone and it was ok, but then he found that the sound just dropped out if he used it alot, no call alerts, or sms alerts, keypad tones, etc...which meant he missed alot of important calls, he had to turn it off and back on again to get the sound back. He took it back and the same thing happened with the replacement phone, has anyone else had this problem???

I backed up all my contacts on my PC and when I got my Z560 I wanted to copy it all back to my Z560 but can't access my contacts on my Z560 through PC Studio. What can I do? For those who are interested to know about this phone, it is being used by the trialists of M1 Singapore, the 1st mobile phone operator in the country to roll out the 3.5G HSDPA there and Samsung had sponsored the Z560 for them to test it out. There is this interesting and pretty comprehensive evaluation by one of their trialist who has blogged his experience on the Z560. He or she is even comparing with Nokia N70 and there are other interestings facts like Bluetooth, memory card, etc. Cool ! Seems that he or she is adding more before the trial ends in mid January.

hi, the 1 button contains the most frequently used symbols, you can access these symbols by repeatedly pressing 1, unfortunately, underscore is not among these symbols, but if you hold the # button for about 2 seconds, the complete list of all known symbols, including underscore, will appear and will be ready for your disposal. i posted a question about a week ago regarding the photo slide and still haven't got a response, it's either no one knows the answer or no one cares. anyway, i found the answer myself, the only pictures you can put in the photo slide are the pictures stored in the images-pictures folder and you can only use jpeg pictures, the reason why 9 blank boxes appear when i press add before is because the pictures that was stored in my images-pictures folder before are in a different format. one more thing, someone asked about the video resolution of z560, there are only 2 available resolutions, 128x96 and 176x144, and it's really a pity when it comes to that aspect of the phone, i used to own a d410, i bought it more than 2 years ago, it was one of the first samsung phones that featured a colored screen with camera and video. being the first, that phone had a lot of flaws but it's video resolution is already the same as that of z560, and besides some phones have video resolutions of up to 640x480 or even higher. Although some probably won't use that high of a resolution because it can take a lot of memory space, it's still better to have that kind of an option. anyway, even with a low video resolution, z560 is still one of the best mobile phones in the market now, and i don't regret buying one.

i bought mine about 2 weeks ago and the display didn't dissapoint me, it's large and it's one of the clearest and sharpest there is, definitely better than any nokia phone. It's camera is good, thanks to the presence of autofocus, unfortunately i can't say the same about the music player. It's loud and can be heard even in a very busy street but the quality isn't that good especially when using the loudspeaker, but i know this phone wasn't designed for music. Browsing the web is really fast, there's no question about that being an hsdpa phone. It's design is very sleek, it'a as if you become a better person when holding it. It's user-friendly, you don't need to read the manual to know how to use 95% of its features. It's keypad is also worth mentioning, it's soft and properly spaced apart, you'll find no trouble making long text messages. It has no fm radio but i can live with that. If there's one thing this phone doesn't have that i really want, it's the ability to view pictures and watch video clips in full screen mode. I hope i can install an application that can make this possible. One last thing, i have a problem with one of its features, it's just minor but i hope someone can help me with it. It's about the photoslide feature of the phone, when you use this feature, you'll be given two options, add and take photo. There's no problem when using the take photo option, but when i choose the add option, i assumed that this function will let you put saved pictures in the photoslide, the screen shows 9 blank boxes. i hope someone can help me with this. this is indeed the cingular sync (sgh-a707). internal camera was removed to save costs since cingular will not have video calling until q2 2007. the external screen is an STN LCD as opposed to a TFT LCD (think nokia 6010). this is again to save costs. the 2 mp camera was changed from autofocus to fixed focus for the same reason. software is updated. bluetooth is updated to 2.0 from 1.2 and enhanced data rate is added. i have the Sync... and i love it, at least until sony ericsson comes out with an HSDPA model. this is clearly the best HSDPA phone i have used.

People, the feature here isn't FM radio or whether the thing makes a good cup of coffee, it's HSDPA. With a Bluetooth-equipped laptop and the right service provider, you're doing 1.4Mbps downstream with this thing.

I don't get why people are so bothered about having a flash on a phone. Surely a phone is for calls and texts. Yeah it's great if it has extras like a camera and music players, but if you want a flash why don't you just go out and buy a camera? You'd always get better pictures with one.

The service is cheap i guess,with 21 tv channels.it's fast but image kuality isn't very good =\, but ok... who cares... This device will work in HSDPA mode only it Network supports it. If not, like in Norway, it will fully work in UMTS band. HSDPA is just a UMTS improvement, so a it is not possible to have a device that only supports HSDPA. It it supports HSDPA, it supports UMTS.

As far I know Samsung cooperated with Vodafone in the HSDPA development for the Z560 and it will be shipped for the first time by this carrier. My best guess is Vodaphone might lunch it before Worldcup football in europe.

Say what you want... I've had many Camera Phones and the smaller the lenses, the more noise. The GX30, Z500 and S700 all produced nice pictures. The K750i and W800i are nice too, but nothing compared to the 903SH which has a 7-lense CCD sensor. And all of these "Cameras" don't compare in quality to any digital camera with bigger and simply better optics. We'll see what the future brings! Skater42

To Skater42: You're missing the point. I only addressed the person because he/she didn't know why Samsung would bother with 2mp camera when you can't differentiate it from vga camera. In addition, you cannot just judge on phone's size and say "oh...to small! must have a disapointing camera!" @ LG Hooker Yeah, the 850Mhz frequency will replace the 800/900Mhz CDMA 1x. The whole debate the rural people spit is nonesense. WCDMA 850 will have nearly the same reach than the previous CDMA 1x, just 3x the speed. I don't know whether they will get rid of the 2100Mhz, it might just run dual-mode like GSM 900/1800. By the way: =========== HSDPA is backward-compatible with WCDMA, so this phone should be able to receive WCDMA services. Can't promise, but that's what the specs say. Awesome! Skater42

@ Jason, the issue is this: SIZE doesn't matter. CMOS and CCD sensors of THIS small size can be 4Mpx and still have the worst noise and distortions. Even the Sharp 903, which is damn good, is having trouble with low-light conditions because of the relative small size of the sensor (I own a 903, its DAMN good quality). Check how flat and small this lense is, compare the V3x (Motorola), which is very similar. It's not terrible and not good, but a 2 Mpx image just has too much noise and distortion, and missing contours. Other than that I really think the Z560 is amazing, such a small handset featuring HSDPA is very impressive! Well done Samsung! Skater42

@ LG Hooker Uhm...no, Telstra is doing away with CDMA 1X and is replacing it with UMTS W-CDMA. HSDPA isn't even on trial in Australia. The only Countries I know that trial/have trialed it are Korea, Japan and T-Mobile Germany. HSDPA ====== HSDPA is the new 3.5/4G technology based on WCDMA. It enables up to 10x the speed of regular WCDMA (in perfect conditions). I doubt that it will arrive in Australia for another 4 years as the current WCDMA needs to establish itself first. Due to infrastructure it will only be available in Metro Areas anyway. And if the end-user will even desire this new technology...well we'll see. Skater42
