  • This phone really sucks.. It keeps on hanging and the battery drains fast. And one time it hangs and the screen starts to heat I decided to turn it off. And when I got home I charged it for 2 hours and when I opened it only the logo appers and until now I can't open it.

  • Plz...do not be mad with the phone....i hope that i can help you....for your information...sh530(4.0 ice cream sandwich) have some kind of virus that is hidden.no antivirus app can remove this virus and almost all antivirus app can not detect the virus because located in ROM. But you can remove the virus by upgrade the 4.0 version to 4.1.2(jelly bean)...my advice>>pls use wifi to upgrade not 2G or 3G etc because the smartphone cpu(MTK cpu) is not stable during update... update...after that >> update and update until no more update....this will take few hours...u can do this by yourself...this will reduce the cpu to overheat too....i also realized that second core(cpu) not working properly with 4.0 android version but working properly with 4.1.2 android version....sh530 gpu(graphic processor unit) will look much beautiful(the smartphone graphic design) if you update....>>>>>the conclusion is --update and update until no more update ...plz reply for me....(based on my knowledge and research about the smartphone...sorry if my english is bad)

  • Please Don't buy this phone, it's nightmare and real experience!!!! Always get hang, turn off and on itself. The screen always hang at least overnight or whole day. Try to push the power button to turn but not working. No SD card slot as mentioned in the specs. MOST TERRIBLE and useless phone ever I had before.

  • I think the specs of this phone is pretty decent at a very affordable price however it can handle 3D games such as Minion Rush, CSR Racing, and the popular Temple Run and most other games out there despite the lack of RAM (only 512mb).   • hello, please search "inside sharp sh530u" in google to check my full documentation on how I upgraded my memory. The memory card in located on the rear side of the main board and can not be accessed from outside the phone. You need to open the unit to its main board to access the memory card.

  • This phone actually has a 4GB internal memory and a 16GB microsd card. I just upgraded mine to a Class I 32GB card with 2 partitions so I can use it on Link2SD. Now I have a 36GB Sharp SH530u :P Cheers!

  • That happened to me a few times before I ended up replacing the micro-sd card in the phone. It appears you're phone may have a defective internal memory (microsd). Although it can be replaced, which I did 2 nights ago using a 32gb Class I microsdhc card, you should bring it back to the vendor for replacement. I created 2 partitions before putting it in since you will not be able to partition the card once it is in the phone unless it is not initially partitioned (by default it is already formatted to fat32 partition).

  • I just opened up my Sharp SH530u and guess what guys, it has a 16GB MicroSD card. I will be replacing this with a 32GB Class 10 MicroSDHC to boost my storage and at the same time maximize its use. I was also able to root my device and recently was able to make Link2SD work by partitioning the Internal storage (actually External SD storage) and use the new partition to link my apps to the storage. I'll share the details of this once I finish working on my phone :P Cheers!

  • i think ur wrong about it i buy it almost 2 weeks but nothing wrongs. dual sim we consider it hangs but it depends upon the user. there is no external memory of this phone only the phone memory by itself 20gb

  • if u have extra money, just get SH930w model. the phone beats other local quadcores. screen is superb and sound is great. performance so smooth. but battery easily gets hot.

  • Hi! I just want to warn everyone. Don't even think about getting this phone because it really sucks! I bought the phone 10 days ago. At first I was very happy when I got it. After 8 days having the phone, it just started to turn off and on by itself and stuck with the sharp logo. I brought it back to the dealer and they replaced it with the a brandnew unit after 4 days. The new cp is also defective. The sim slot 1 won't read any sim. So I had to choose a different unit as long as it's the same amount.

  • that's because your phone has a sensor, so all you need to do at the end of the conversation is press the lock buttton and manually hang up for every call

The only problem that I have in line with work is that text message automatic conversion to MMS..... when reach allowable characters.   • The device hangs very frequently. Once it hangs, the screen turns black and you can't do nothing, not even push the power and volume button together for 15 seconds. Leave it for a few hours and try it again, it may reboot the system.

  • Owned for 1 week now. Have had no problems with operating system yet like others have.You get what you pay for.Be carefull at sellers listings. Some say it has a removable battery and some say it has a extended memory card slot. It does not on either At 138 bucks on a auction site it was a no brainer. I am semi-happy with it and will remain semi-happy as long as it does not crash. Bottom line.. Not much money then phone is ok. If you can afford better then you should do so.

  • If the device has no response to you or the system hangs, please press power button and volume down （-） key same time together for 15 seconds. The system will power off by itself. Then, you can power on it again. Only pressing power button is for screen on and off (sleep mode) does not help the system hangs and no screen problem.

  • hello......i found a way to reduce or remove lag from sh530u............ 1)open setting 2)open(about phone) 3)check update 4)download update (no.1) 5)install update 6)check update 7)download update(no.2) 8)install update 9)check update 10)download update (no.3) 11)install update 12)done........ your phone will use android4.1.2 ..... but no more ice cream sandwich keyboard....... the ram will have extra free space (around 50MB)......so please update.........you will have new experience to use android4.1.2 on sharp sh530u.......i will give 7.00/10.00 for everthing for this phone except for the GPU(200Mhz) (after update).

  • I think I am experiencing the same with my SH530U. Yesterday, April 25, 2013, I turned it off because I am going inside the church. Then when I pressed the power button, the screen lit up and the SHARP logo appeared, then it stayed like that for one hour and the phone is hot as hell. I pressed power button and - volume button but the phone did not reboot, it just turned off. I let it cool and pressed the power button again. Just like before, the screen only shows the Sharp logo and stayed like that forever until I pressed again the power and volume to turn it off. It's useless right now.

  • Hi Sharp, I would like to report a complain with regard to the phone that I bought from one of the stores who sells your product. Last February 4, 2013 I bought a Sharp 530u in pink to MX Memo Express in SM Marilao located in Bulacan. I was really happy that I was able to buy a phone with big screen, dual core processor with 16GB internal and 4GB external memory. The Sharp phone works really fine on the first month that I had used it. After a month I had experienced an error where in the phone is heating while I was charging it. Let me tell you the errors of this phone on a bullet type to be easily understand. * The phone is heating every time I re-charge the battery. (*Note: The battery is built on the phone) * When I was on a call with my friend, the phone went on sleep mode and when I tried to click the power button on the upper left part, the phone is not responding and automatically turned off. * After 2 days I decided to bring the phone back to the store to check the issue and resolution of this phone. (*Action taken from the store: The Sales representative just plugged it on a charger and it worked fine. I tried asking them if it normally happen to SH530u and I was told that this phone was never had a complain from any customers. I decided to go home and told them that I will observe this phone and will send this phone back to them if the same issue persist. * After a day, While I was charging it, I decided to turn off the phone and after 2 hours of charging I tried to turn on the phone but the power button was not working again. Again, I visited a store to check my phone but this time it is the same store but in a different branch. They told me that this phone needs to be sent to Sharp Philippines to be fixed. After a week I got the phone again but to be exact, the date this phone was given to me was on April 20, 2013. I tried using it, charged the phone and turn it off then after an hour, I tried to turn on the phone and Its not working again. This phone is now giving me so much hard time and I am really frustrated and hoping to get it fix as soon as possible. I am now about to complain about it to the store where I bought this phone. How I wish that they will give me a brand new phone that is working properly. I am hoping that Sharp will also help me on this issue. Your FEEDBACK will be highly appreciated.

  • Needed a Big Screen, don't play games or watch movies on my phone. had the expensive phones but didn't use 90% of the features. This Sharp phone does what i want to do, telephone, e mail's, internet, messaging, GPS. For a affordable price, it is all I need. I have other devices to play games and watch movies. Great Phone.

The 5' screen caught my attention and its dual core processor together with ICS and 16GB internal memory + 4GB phone memory. This handset works really fine for me especially the speed every time I browse the net.   • Bought this phone few days back. Internet speed is stable and awesome. Can download amny types of games that runs on diff platforms. Value for money but.... the processor is always heat up and i cant charge my phone. battery lifespan is very bad. you pay peanut well u get monkey.

  • Had this phone for a month now and the phone already had a problem with white screen due to update. Brought the phone to the Service Center( contact details included in the box) and was reformatted to stock. Was also advised the it has an internal "SD CARD" of only 16GB however, it can be replaced to 32GB(SD CARD separate purchase). Experience with the phone is fine. Limited games only but the large screen is a plus especially when watching videos. False keyboard app is also quite good. Only sad due to no accessories available in the PH and phone is slow somtimes. Wishing that a Hard Case and other accesories will be available soon in the market.

  • it is 20GB as they say the memory is seperated into two components, the phone memory with about 4GB n the internal memory with bout 16GB.

  • ok first thing first,if ur looking to get it for high end apps,i thik u better find something else. if nt it is quite a gd phone. it has no micro sd card slot, but the total internal memory equals to 20gb. for the installing oni in the phone memory,that is bullshit, jus go to the settin n set it to install into the internal memory. by default it will install in the phone memory like all phones do-.- dun see why. hmm camera...like they say nt gd...but other than that it is great, the dual sim works lyk a charm,seen better screens but i will say it is average,emails messaging r great...in other words to do work, u got a gd phone. ps. the phone gets dirty easily as its white...duh-.-....still bit weird when making a call i thik it is kinda big..may be jus me.

  • It is 20 gig it has 2 memorys a 4 gig phone and a 16 gig internal its a bit of a fumble to navigate hence all the negative its only 4 gig comments. It doesn't have the flare of its rivals for the money it costs your better off with just about any other phone i was going to get a samsung duo s but this caught my eye as it is allso dual sim great storage, and a screen roughly the size of a galaxy note, It does everything else you want from a smart phone but without pazzaz its like a no frills smart phone for people that dont like taking pictures... The cammera is terrible and no flash included either but it wouldnt make a difference this phone doesn't take a descent picture in any light if you want 1 of these wait a while im forcasting the price falling quickly

  • This phone uses regular-sized sims, not mini-sims. Also, there's no micro-sd slot. I expected the screen to be horrible but im pleasantly surprised. Not the same sharpness as gaaxy note but sharp enough for video playback. It's a good buy if you will mainly use it for media. Gaming not exceptional, also it only uses the 4gb phone memory for apps. So you can only install a few apps and maybe 1 heavy game. I bought it for only for $299 and for me it offers good value for money.

  • the screen resolution is far below par for a 5" screen. Compared to the likes of Note II and Optimus Vu the screen will look horrible.

  • yup.. i have tried nba2k13.. lagged at times in nba2k13.. have to turn volume to 0.. tweak in game settings of presentation and game options to boost speed.. also played gta 3, ff3, nfs shift, inotia 4 without any lag or problems so far..

  • has phone memory of 2.61 gb and internal of 14.38 gb.. simple ui.. you can shift to ics ui if you like just go to display turn off ux ui..

  • With exception of the 20 gb internal memory. All the specs looks like a china phone selling at aliexpress. Can be bought for us$200.

  • internet video playback is slow at times with slurred picture movement. the toggle between sim cards sometimes did not register properly and data sometimes mistakenly run on the mobile plan

  • Specs look OK and hands-on look in a Hong Kong shop looks good. However, it seems that none of the dual-SIM phones include WCDMA in 3 bands 850/900/2100. All have eithet 850/2100 or 900/2100 ?

  • My first electronic device i've had was a Sharp calculator back in 1987. Sharp is a lovely name for me, but as for smartphones they're so much behind the competition. They actually make parts for other phone brands, but make no phone on par with them, that's pity.
