to siemens fans, buy motorola ve538, the price just 699000inr, very cheap, best in this price, i have naite, but i like browsing with ve538, because browsing with naite when switch from 3g to hsdpa connection will failed or long waiting. Battery ve538 more longer than naite when browsing with 3g. But naite more satisfy for java game. motorola ve 538 is siemens os dressed by motorola, i use siemens sxg75 theme and work, the menu very similar with siemens os, try it. siemens forever.

I have to say, when SIEMENS phones first appeared on the scene, they were uite popular, but with coming of SonyEricsson and NOKIA starting to develop better phones, SIEMENS started to simply copy their designs and their software was rather primitive, so in the end, they just lost everything, and all the SEMENS phones got boring. Since 2003 I owned about 15 phones, and to be honest, NOKIA and SonyEricsson will always stand high, but as I said, SIEMENS in the end just lost it due to not being smart enough to realise that there were/are better companies, and that you need to develop everything in the phone except for what they've just done, change the design. To be honest though, I would really like to have a SIEMENS, one of the later models, just as my 'play phone'.

the siemens S75 is a user friendly phone. one of the dislikes of the phone is that it has let me down by memory failure of the phone book. i have as well lost a lot of data. someone my help to restore it since in kenya they have not been imported nad much of the accesssesories/software is rare.

I have been using S75 almost for 2 years. Siemens did not import this fone to HK so I needed to get it via China as a grey import (that means I do not have any after sales support). Apart from the UI is not as friendly as 65 series, it is a brilliant fone. No bug at all. IMO this is the ultimate Siemens designed and Siemens branded fone. Am planning to buy another S75 as a backup.

I just want to correct one mistake : I used the S75 until Jan 2008 (not Jan 2007) and add a comment about the music player : it is quite good with classical music (where we do not need heavy bass) compared with recent Nokia phones (even the N series).

I used a S75 phone for 2 years, from Feb 2006 to Jan 2007. This device was full of bugs but new firmware releases have corrected most of them since Dec 2005. You need Firmware 47, it corrects more than 80% of bugs. you can download it here: S75's main shortcomings are : - its keyboard : numeric buttons are awfully tiny and hard to press - its e-mail client : 300KB limit; if you change the active account, the mail client download again all the headers (even those already downloaded); you cannot disable receipt acknowledge requested by incoming e-mails (even though you select the option) - office applications (pdf, word and excel files readers) are too slow to be used frequently - the web browser is quite slow (you would better use Google Mobile services to format Web pages), it does not take profit of EDGE connection - poor picture quality and really bad video captures S75 pros : - many small features that make every day life easier such as automatic switch off at preset time, torch lamp using the flash LED, inbox grouping all the messages and alerts (missed calls, meetings) of the day - numerous ways to customize the phone (more than with Nokia phones) : My Menu, any shortcut (menu entries as well as phone numbers) can be allocated to any numeric button, profile settings include screen light level, vibration types... and so forth - useful extra applications : unit converter, date calculator, stopwatch, countdown (with cooking standard times :-)

i downloaded some themes and videos from the internet and i activated a particular theme and left it charging around 11pm and goes to bed.i woke up at 3 in the morning and when i switch it on it comes on but goes off when seaching for network. i figured out that when i take out the sim it doesn't go off only if i put back the sim does it start its problem. Im'a using Siemens Phones since 2000. I had C35, C55, S55 and almost 2 years ago I have got S75. It was one of the first phones of this model... It's buggy... Not just buggy, but it's full of bugs! For instance: you call somebody, press red button and immediately press green button again (to call this person again), now you see a list of last calls without the latest and 1-2 seconds later you enjoy message "Database Error". Besides that it's too heavy (compared to C55 and S55), buttons are simply ugly - they are too small and too hard to press. So, I'm disappointed. After 5 years of really good experience with Siemens it was hard to accept that they have created such phone. Never again Siemens. Never again BENQ.

mr anoarul try to use aktel gprs not grameen edge. this will solv ur problem this is a eXtreemly slow Prosessing mobile set.if i try to work fast it crashs.some times display light goes off and comes back aftre 10 sec though im still pressing switch.its true that siemens try make this phone as their masterpice but its not.

I think the firmware is a beta version :-) The (Benq) Siemens closed its bussines and no one fixed the bugs. One of the most annoying features is "hear protection function", which mutes silent playback and makes it even more low level. If you are looking for a new phone, look for another one. Hardware is good, but the firmware is a crap.

i've been using this mobile since last year. even i had so many problems before, like sms bugging, internet problems, etc. but since i have upgraded my firmware to 47, believe me my phone has become faster and all the applications are working better than before. even the video recording time has also increased from 1:30 min to 16:30 min. Ever since the upgration of the firmware.....i am really satisfied with this phone and i think that i spend my money at the right place :D:D

Wow.. i read several of the comments below and almost all correct... sadly. I am a longtime Siemens user/fan too. S75... its just very sad. Sad for me to read all this too. I loved all M55 and A56, for different reasons. I ordered my n95 this week. My phone is crashing several times a week now. RIP Siemens.

Horrbible. I was a Siemens fan, all my mobiles till now where Siemens. But the S75... piece of crap. Looks good on photos, but my black edition looks like very cheap plastic. The phone is very slow in comparison to phones of equal release time/price, my one sometimes does not show, when someone is calling me (very rare, but nevertheless very annoying) and when when doing several things in simultaneosly (playing music, loading something else, or booting and opening another app) it quite often crashes. The pictures taken with the came are of poor quality in my eyes. Very noisy, horrible colors, often shifted... . The display is... well... it's ok, but not as good as it should be. When sending, it flickers a little bit, and resolution could be better too. All in all, I'm very diappointet with this one. It looks like Siemens tried to save a lot of money when producing. :(

The bottomline is that this phone is full of features, unfortunately most of them do not work. I also have problems in connecting to internet, error PPP 734, and that's it. Plus many more problems with FW. Shame, it has big potential, but just doesn't work. Do not buy this phone, it is too expensive to use it simply as a talking machine.

Unfortunatly Siemens bankrupcy in Germany left us without real support for Siemens and Benq-Siemens branded mobiles. OTA configuration is no more available, and a few drivers for the S75 can be downloaded in the "www.benq.sg" (Singapore) and nowhere else. Benq will loose customers fidelilty if nothing is done.

Frankly before switching to Samsung, i was once a Siemens fans. I like Siemens because its upgradable firmware. But pitty Siemens' Holding Company seems abandon its mobile division. And after holding and playing with this S75 of a friend of mine who a hardcore-siemens fans, i come to conclusion that this fone is "maybe" Siemens last masterpiece. What surprise me is the mp3 player is awesome which i think better than SE K750. I hope Siemens will release their fone line up in the future with its "SIEMES" name without adding Benq or Fujitsu or any other brand.

Need help with error 734 PPP link control protocol---I have purchased a new S75 mobile phone set from the authorized distributor from our country Bangladesh, two months back. Initially I was able to connect to internet using the phone set as a modem by using the EDGE service. But recently while trying to connect the following error message is appearing & the connection is failing. "An error occured during connection setup, The PPP link control protocol was terminated, Error 734". I have checked with the local GSM service provider & according to them there's nothing wrong with their service, rather something has gone wrong within the mobile phone set. I tried with variuos settings of the computer but nothing helped to solve the problem. Please help me with proper information how to get rid off this connection problem. I think Siemens is the best, I have Siemens C55 for 3 years and never had any problems with it, and before that I had C45 also with no problems, network was better then most newer Nokia phones. Now I am going to buy S75 and I was woundering if someone could tell me how does it work on the latest firmware?

That's weird. When I update my phone I simply download the program to my desktop, double click on it and the program starts. My file has this file name: S75_470200.xbz_update It doesn't end with .xbz. I belive it is an exe file.

What i like about FW 40 is the operating speed is faster :-) It's true that the animation for startup/shutdown doesn't appear, which to me is also useless. The most important thing for me is the operating speed & system, which MUST work well

I think the best FW is version 35. Don't upgrade to FW 40. Startup/shutdown animations don't show and the camera quality gets worse.

Hi, I am sorry about forget one thing.If you update the firmware virson to 35 then the video length is 16.30 minutes, not 1.30 minutes. So if anybody extend to video recoding time then he have to be update the firmware. The way to get the firmware version 35, you have to register your product first. Then you have your personal page.On that page you have to be clik the product support section and then click the firmware link.After that you have to select your product variant and clik download. Hope everybody enjoy the extra video recording time.

this phone looks elegant both in outlooks and display (although pixels r bigger) amazing sound quality with pretty good volume.i would like to advice s75 user to use aac tones as ring tone for its high quality contrast to midi or mp3.i cut a part of a song in wav format using creative wav studio then increase volume level 400% then transfer to mobile as high quality aac sound using mobile manager.

I bought this phone 3 motnth ago.I still have problem watching video and the software is not stable. But today i update my Firmware virsion to 35. And now thing are really changing.Now you can play an audio and video in less trouble.If the player hang then you can use it again by pressing music key. I am not sure how long this situatuon continue. I hope that this version will reduce some bug and the sound quality is even bettr now.So best of luck.

best phone i ever owned and i had everything from a siemens s55, nokia 6820 and a few sony eriksons. sure the phone has a couple software bugs but so does everybody elses. nobody can beat the features on this phone and the menue is much better organized than in the nokias or sony eriksons. another plus is that you can update the firmware yourself which on a nokia 6820 for instance you can not. the siemens s75 is a business phone with additional features, the nokia 6820 was supposed to be a business phone but is more of a toy for teenagers. it is easy to program the mms and internet settings since you can go on the siemens benq website, choose your phone and your provider and the settings are sent automatically to your phone. i read horror stories on the internet from people trying to get the right settings for their nokias and sonys and many of them never get their mms or internet access to work. as i said, best thing out there so far.

I bought S75 for its nice design feature and sound quality but at the 6th day it has became oyt of order. No buttons working. Then I have send it to the service centre of SIEMENS at Bangladesh. They are taking time more then 72 hours and they yet not deliver it to me. They are unable to providing me a delivare date yet. They said they will call me over phone and will confirm me about that. I am very much disappointed about this matter. I will never buy SIEMENS set and will never advise any one to bye this thing.

i just bot a s75..i find this phone is great..it has everything like bluetooth,infra,1.3 megapixel camera,mp3,expandable MMC slot also.It also has document viewer to view excel, word and pdf files. So i can say tt it is a smart phone. The mp3 played is also clear and loud. The flash can acty act as a torch light..And i find tt black is a very class and elegant colur.This phone is really worth the buy.

My mobiel phone is Siemens S65 and I must say, it has good and bad sides.. The problem is, it has MORE BAD sides ;) and the same problems I noticed by all other siemens phones (M65, CX65..) and I don't think it's better in the 75 series.. the FW has too many bugs - I said to me "NO MORE SIEMENS".. just 1 opinion from me ;)

The firmware is full of bugs, the phone is unstable , transfer of calendar events via IrDa is not compatible with PalmOS devices. The phone fw seems to be unfinished and its serious use if painful....

Messaging is very disappointing : first of all, e-mails are limited to 300KB, like MMS ! It is a pity when you can download your e-mails fast with a EDGE connexion ! And the phone cannot send EMS with pictures (only MMS or sends them from a PC using MPM). Bad translations in French : I set English as language. Unstable firmware. If ever you export your bookmarks from a PC, you erase the phone's bookmarks and lose the Internet key use (linked with a bookmark)and it is impossible to restore the hidden link. No voice dialing (useful in a car). I regret my old S55 !

i always b a big fans of siemens. after waiting so long now i have a big chance 2 get my s75. i'll try to search every details that s75 got. and i've got more than i've expecting. With the real 1.3M camera. The quality is better than b4. it has 5xZoom and the quality still good with good resolution. The colour effects n 3 more effect (negative, emboss and sketch) r make all of my friends amaze. The sketch effects make me easier. So i don't hv 2 use the photoshop for editing the image. The video recorder. Has more facilities even it only record for 1 minute 30 second. I can zoom (in or out) in the middle of recording. It helps me alot. The quality of picture and audio r alot better than b4. Both on still image and video my s75 has the highes refresh rate. So i don't have to be afraid when it come to record straight from tv and computer monitor. It has no flicker at all. The MP3 player ... woa ... Just like an iPod. It has the mangement database, u can fastforward/backward (for playing mp3 n video). U can make playlist. U can play with any playmode such as play 1 song repetedly, play the list only ... and alot of more. The notes is unlimited. Opening text file (txt). Something that makes me amaze ... u can open any word, excel and pdf format in here (in standard format). It's already installed. The address book r amaze 2. u can search not only by name u type but ... it sure can find by word to. Oooooooohhhhhhh I love my s75. It's really combine the multimedia and phonecell.

S75 is the currently best music phone out there. Professional styling and yet a amazing MP3 player within (multitasking MP3 player). The sound produces is excellent from the speaker or stereo headphones which comes in the package. RS-MMC support to 1GB! It is a lovely phone and too bad BenQ-Siemens don't promote heavily on it. I think they have shifted their marketing target on the dual-brands products such as S88 (another music oritented phone). Siemens S75 is ssuch an underated phone and also the last S class series truly produced by Siemens branding.

thanks foosoomin. i don't know what the benQ OS is like so i will most likely try out the S88. but i'll probably get the S75 because of the siemens OS; they switched the placement of some commands on the S75 but i could easily get used to that. i also compared the SL75 with the S75 - i still prefer the S75! now i'm looking forward to the IT Show on march 9-12 to see if i can get better deals there... thanks and cheers for your help!

Hi toshmon, Benq S88 OS is not run by Siemens, but Benq OS itself As for S75, it's using newer Siemens OS, which has 12 icons in the Main Menu Since you're a Siemens user, i will recommend you to buy S75 instead of S88. Cheers

hi. sorry i just realised i didn't explain what i meant by "user interface". specifically, i meant when you're typing out an sms: * in t9 predictive text do you know how many word options you have? eg. when you want the word "tree", you have 3 options and the interface tells you which option you are currently at --> "tree" is the 2/3 (2nd out of 3) option, and you can actually see this at the bottom of your screen as you type. * in regular abc-style typing if you want to choose the letter "k", will the interface show you a row of letters when you press the number "5" button? ie. you will see J K L 5 and you immediately know you have to press the "5" button twice to get to the letter "k" sorry for the confusion! :)

hi foosoomin the S75 is here but i haven't decided if i should get it or wait for the S88 from benQ.siemens. do you know if the user interface for both models are still the same as the older siemens phones? eg. CX65? hallo everybody. I have siemens sxg75, it is a graet phone but i noticed that some things have been changed, it is not the same as other siemens phones. The menu you cannot change as on s65, they used to have collors change to write an sms, now its only white and blue.Not a lot poly.ringtones in the phone and when you lisen to the radio and somebody calls you the radio doesent turn on again after ending the conversation. Is S75 a better phone than SXG75???????? In mine option the best was SX1.

Ok, i have it now :) The phone looks and feels quite solid. Buttons are imo a little too small. But the navigational key works fine. Calling quality is excellent, Quality of playing MP3 is good too. Sending MP3's to the phone via bluetooth works fine ( the phone converts them to .aac files ). I only had 1 problem, while I was browsing through my MP3's, the phone suddenly sort of crashed. It made a beep and it switched kind of off, while you could still see weird stuff in the screen. I just switched it on again. The problem didnt occur again ( so far ). I hope it won't.... Furthermore: if the phone is just switched on and you're at the standby screen ( logged on the operator etc. ) it shows somekind of lag like the first 2 seconds: When you push a button nothing happens, and after 2 seconds it shows the key selected. Camera isn't really up to date if you compare it to other phones in its class. You can't capture a moving object or something, i've tried to photograph a car that was passing by, doesn't work. Taking good pictures only works if you hold the phone firmly still. Also filming isn't really that good, video's are very vague. But video playback quality is very good, there is a videoclip of "9 million bycicles in beijing" on the phone. I didnt upload any video's from my PC yet. I showed my phone to other people and they liked it, they liked it more then the Nokia 6230i, especially the display quality and the overall design of the phone ( I have the piano black version ) Furthermore I must say Siemens did a good job on improving the Menu and so on, it is more user friendly then other Siemens phones I owned. The media player function is really good, you can easily browse through the phone's internal memory and card seperately or all toghether, video audio and pictures are subdivided ,but you can also browse through them all together if you wish. Also the mediaplayer can be switched to the background. Thumbs up for this function! Thats about all i have to say, I can recommend this phone :) I'm satisfied. Dani�l.

They said it would be available in November, then they said December, then January, now they've told me Februari. Well I surely lost my trust in Siemens' marketing. Hi ZXcorr, Don't worry about the bugs, it'll be amended in future firmware. Basically, S75 & SL75 share the same firmware. One thing for sure, if you love a phone, you'll purchase it though it has bugs :-)

Yes. The display is really good. Even with only 132x176 pixels resolution. But it's in 1.8 inch, so it'll look fine. Much better from the 65 series. And the brightness has also improved.

I think additional memory cards are important. Because sometimes, if there's a slot of big files in the built-in memory, the phone will go slow. That's why having an external memory is quite an advantage.

This model is doomed to fail. From beginning all S-class Siemens were high class phones with excellent perfomances. Now, new S75 has camera that was attractive one year ago! Why they did not built in 2MO camera? MP3 player? All other brands has it long time ago. Memory? Pretty low for todays standard. I don't see why I have to buy additional memory - it should be built in phone. All in all - it would be a great phone if it was releasead a year ago.

this model would realy give the competition a run for its money if it had a higher display resolution (240 x 320?) and a 2.0 megapixel camera. it is archaic to have 132 x 176 pixels display and a 1.3-megapixel camera. i really suggest that siemens build on this model and make improvements in its features. the design and the key pad is attractive. to me at least, anyway.

To : Orn, I'm waiting for this phone to be available in Singapore. I'm able to tried out that prototype S75 is because there's a retailer who knows those Benq Mobile staff very well. Also, he has been supporting Siemens for more than 5 years. That's why he was able to borrow it, demonstrate it to us & let us have a feel/touch/test of it too. If we compare S65 to Samsung D500, Siemens looks funny. For such phone I expected to have a Symbyan OS and more important, much more built in memory just like D500. So it is not suprising that Siemens is not any more among three most popular gsm companies. Overall, I think it is not worth buying a mobile phone just to have a good MP3 player. P.S. Does anybody know what final price will be?

I have been using Nokia phones for many years. Have tried the prototype S75, i can say it's "FANTASTIC". All the features are there, sound quality, menu navigation, speed, user friendliness, RS-MMC & 1.4MP camera. Don't forget about the ATI chip too. This will be the next phone i'm grabbing :-) But one main question : WHEN WILL IT BE AVAILABLE" ?

It it too late for Siemens :-( Nokia has MP3 player long time ago and Siemens just introduce it as "new" function. Other brands has started to built mini disc and Siemens will probbably do it in approx. 10 years from now! New standard is 2 megapix, Siemens again fails. So, I don't see any good reason why I should buy some of new series of Siemens phones - it is a sad because I was a Siemens fan :-(

Yes, it has a document viewer. But I think it only views. And the MP3 player can work in background. We can switch it (minimize or maximize) by pressing the music button. :-)

yes, camera resolution is 1280x1024 and it has office to view office documents application like piscal viewer in SAMSUNG D600, don't know if those applications can edit office document or not..... I hope MP3 player can be executed as background (minimize)

Oh, there's a mistake in the specifications (I didn't realize it just now). The camera is 1.3 MegaPixels, 1280x1024 pixels. NOT 1280x960, because that would be 1.23 MegaPixels (S65's camera).

OMG. I just saw a photo sample from the prototype's camera. It looks great, much better from the S65! And the user interface is refreshed. We can add emoticons in SMS, play videos in full screen mode, play MP3s in background, etc. This is going to be a great phone!

Seems part of my suggestion was acknowledged & realized by SIEMENS. I posted it in: dated: 2005-03-06 19:53. Thickness around 18mm, MP3 & AAC support both for ringtones & music player and max 1 GB of memory card (although they don't use SD standard anyway... :-) ) I hope the camera is doing fine, at least better than NOKIA N90. It would be surprise if photo quality is on par with Sony-Ericsson K750i (not in term of max resolution though). So far the menu layout seems promising, more user friendly. Just needs patient until S75 arrives in Indonesia. Yes, I still use that trusty old Ericsson R320sc, 'cuz I wait for this thing launched here :-p Hope SIEMENS Mobile Phones still preserve that good built & signal quality now, since been took over by BenQ now (ex named Acer)...

Because Symbian is oldskool rubbish Nokia invented it, and they can keep it. I had it on N-Gage, SX1, and then had enough. I sell phones, and it is without doubt the most unreliable OS a phone could have As much as I hate to say it, Microsoft have the best OS..... other than individual brands own systems. Siemens menu system is excellent, why bother with crap from Nokia??

yes, the media player supports background running... so you can type a message and listen to music at the same time. SL75 has the same feature inside but the other handsets of the x75 series do not suport multitasking.

According to a mobile phone magazine, Siemens is joining venture with BenQ. Siemens give the right to BenQ to produce mobile phones for Siemens starting from the 1st of October, for a period of 18 months. They are keepig the Siemens name/logo on the mobile phone products, but actually they are called BenQ-Siemens.

Some specifications need to be corrected. 1) The camera resolution is 1.3 MegaPixels (1280x1024 pixels) 2) It can take more than 1 GB card. So, that "1 GB max" gotta go... No, you`re wrong, s75 isn`t using the 65 series platform, it`s using another platform+ it has multitasting! it`s like SXG, with smaller display, smaller cam resolution, without UMTS and GPS! it`s a very good phone!

There IS an operating system in this phone. Are you dumb? A device without an operating system won't be able to be operated. The OS of this phone will be like Siemens 65 series but with some changes and improvements. By the way, like I said before, this isn't the top model from Siemens. The top models will be SXG75 and SG75. They're 3G smartphones, equipped with more advance technology (QVGA screen, 2 MP camera, RDS FM radio, GPS, video call, etc.)

Very poor features. I was specting much more from this phone. No umts, low resolution display, bad camera, poor design. Just the same as my S65. Today there are phones quite better and more are coming soon. If you buy a S65 you will have the same features at a much lower price, and the design at least is nicer. I think even that battery life will be extremely poor so forget listening to mp3 with it. Just look for a sony ericsson K750 and you will see the difference.

where did you get your information that 1GB is the largest memory you can use on this phone? I'm guessing you mean because 1GB is the largest RS-MMC you can currently purchase.. as i believe if/when 2GB RS-MMC cards become available, this can be used.. plus you can still use 2GB MMC cards (with the end of the card exposed), right?

I started with S3 then S3+; S10 (Brilliant - My Daughter still has her S10 from 5 years ago with its original battery!!!) then S35i (Very good although I had audio failure which Siemens Zim could not fix!!); now S55 (Absolutely brilliant - Brilliant Menu - Brilliant Address Book - Fastest SMS entry of ALL the fones - Brilliant Camera if you like gimmicks - Excellent Talk & Standby time - All round brilliant!!) - I'm looking at S65 as my next fone but maybe I should wait for the S75?! But now the down side! Siemens service in this part of the world VERY POOR - BAD ATTITUDE - Improve your attitude and service and you will claim a larger segment of the market!

I love the look of Siemans phones, and i still have my SL45i which i think is still one of the nicest phones to look at. But no radio on any of the nice phones like the Nokia and SonyErrisons. If they really want to compete then they should address this. Most people i know dont bother with the mp3 but love the radio and this is for me the case too.

it is really ironic that siemens decides to sell off its mobile phone division just when it comes up with phones with nice designs. the new phones for this year are far better than in previous years and are up there with the competition. i would say however i am perplexed at why the pixel resolution is only 132x176 which is just too little. does anyone know how much this model will sell for?

Wow... This is great! It's a Siemens, better UI, IrDA, Bluetooth, great 1.3 MPix camera, MP3/AAC, expandable memory, better screen quality, EDGE, etc. And it's not so expensive too! The only downside for me is the design. I really don't like the keypad layout, navigational key layout, and no joystick. I love joystick... And yeah, this S class is not so very "S". But for those who want a "killer" phone, should wait for the SXG75 and the slider version of it. Those are going to be very "S" class. Y'know what I'm saying? :-)

This phone support multitasking ... that is very nice ... + it is so small ... 103 for phone that have 1,3 megapixel , bt , edge .... display is not 2 good ... but for me it is not immportant ... better display would take more of stand by time . Great bisnis phone if you ask me ... Very stilish

Generally seimens menu are not that good... hope this one is better... and uses the 256k colours... instead of just 1 or 2 !! yes... i think the price will be key becos..already k750 with 2Mp is in the market..
