Siemens SK65 - User Reviews

  • I had the phone for 8 years now. All features I used worked well. But time has moved on - my yahoo email account requires now SSL encryption, but the email setup of the SK65 does not allow to set this up. Some other comments report of sudden hangup or software crash. This had happened for me as well when I had it new. It was caused at the connectors of the battery - the thickness of the battery can vary - thinner versions of the battery may cause a disconnect. I fixed this by putting three layers of masking tape on the back of the battery - this way the battery sits snug in the case and does not move.

  • I'm one of Siemens loyal customer in Indonesia @2005, but this type (SK65) I never have it. If there's the new one, you may contact me at [email protected] may I will buy it

  • this movil change my life cause, after this cellphone i cant "work" without a keyboard qwerty.. i love sk65 & miss u so much MTF

  • how do i access face book on my seimens phone it wont highlight and load the facebook link that is in a text message.

  • check your call screening setting

  • Suck yourself

  • Most amazing phone ever! So well built that seems better even over some rugged phones! I had mine for nearly 5 years and a month ago I dropped it from the balcony of my apartment (4th floor) into the heavy snow below. The snow cover was over 3 feet thick and the outside temperature was freezing 5F so I gave up on finding the poor SK65. But yesterday the snow finally melted and I FOUND my phone - covered with ice and mud, but after an hour of cleaning and letting it dry and then re-charging the battery it worked as if nothing happened at all!!! So sad Siemens gave up on producing mobile phones :( Sure - they had a lot of odd and simply faulty models, but there had been also a LOT of well designed and sturdy built ones like the SK65!

  • Very good phone. It has many features that I need mostly. The organizer function is great, the phone and address book has huge capacity suitable for business purpose.Actually I don't use this phone anymore it was completely destroyed on motorcycle accident. If only siemens decided to make mobile phone again I will buy this amazing mobile phone but I hope they will add some features for fun like mp3 player and camera of course.(the qwerty keyboard is very comfortable for writing message.so far i have never see such design adopted by other brands)

  • still have one, for 3years now, works like charm:))) best phone ever

  • I have had my phone for almost 5 years now. I must say that while all my friends have changed phones like they change their underwear, the SK65 has out lasted them all. Its battery life is still excellent, its very durable and its the best mobile phone for texting. In summary: a very durable, reliable and exteremely user friendly phone with excellent USEFUL features of the like which i have not seen in other mobile phones..

  • The best style ever

  • I have had this phone since it came out and hav had many phones incl. SE w900, W960 and Fujitsu Siemens T830 but nothing comes close to the SK65. Solid, reliable and fun keyboard. These others freeze and break, thats when take out my SK65 without caring for camera, MP3s and fancy ringtones. Also very Rare. COME BACK SIEMENS

But for me its just perfect, bare in mind I am a tall bloke with wide long hands. It doesnt have a camera at all. Battery charges very fast and it will last for 2 days atleast(depends on how frequent u use it).For sending messages the design is very kool.

  • no this phone not have camera:)

  • Who said it has a camera???? this phone is for pros. and without camera. Siemens is great company but they closed siemens mobile section after selling it to BENQ and now BENQ-Siemens is also closed, I always use siemens mobiles but now, what shall i do? i still have the sk65 since almost 2 years and it is as new.

  • I've had theis phone for more than 2 year and recently upgraded to Pocket Loox T830 and weekends use the Sony Ericsson W900. The best I've ever had is the SK65 by far. I wish it would be around for ever. Excellent battery, robust and reliable. Only gripe is the memory (8mb is spiteful).

  • I am sure it is very nice phone. Very interesting and comfortable design. It must be carismatic device. Siemens is a great company.

  • its wery wonder full

  • this is the tightest phone ever made everything is perfect on it the camera works well there is like 4 gigs of memory and the screen is big kinda like the sidekick lx

  • The only issue I have is that the battery runs down only after 1 hr of talk time. Also the phone signal is not as good as it would be if it was a quad band phone. Also found that it come with very few ring tones and software applications

  • nice phone.i got it two years ago and very satisfide with it.size doesn`t matter.its functions are more valuebal thing.

  • how m i suppose to use 32 mb of memory.plz help me...

  • I've had this phone for a year now. It's already an old model at this time, but since I bought it, i was cute satisfied of its behavior. I do not change the phone for a newer and more filled with features one because I am using the SK65 wery much in writing messages. I've seen other newer phones having good QWERTY keyboards, like Samsung I600, but this older phone has a keyboard wich is really perfect for typing texts! So, I decided to keep this phone but I tried to upgrade the firmware to SK6R version 5.0. (it's a blackberry built-in model). I didn't manage to do this... I downloaded the firmware upgrade from www.gsm-multifund.de but after the executable program initializes, I can't continue the upgrade procedure because of an error message: "Could not open Comport for BFC-Lib, maybe Comport is in use". If anyone can give me an advice... Thank you.

  • okay. so i was really pumped to get this phone based on the look of it. NOW in person the phone feels alittle bit cheap and has the worse diplay settings ive ever seen. yes it attracts tons of attention with the twist motion, every one wants to " see it again!" but the reception with the phone is bad, bad display. just not a good phone. great only if u live in a place with a great recepton and all u do is text

  • is it support sis/symbian softwere?and windows mobile?please tell me.send me an mail([email protected])

  • I love my phone but I need to upgrade my software, where can I find the newest version of the software, Please can anyone help. My E-mail [email protected]

  • I have a new SK65 and I am unable to use it. I lost my charger and I am not able to get a replacement. Does anyone know what other charger can be used with this....I would love to be able to get emails on this phone as the qwerty keypad is ideal for this.

  • Does anyone know how to get an instant messeging application on this phone? Im trying to get AOL Instant Messenger.

  • Please Siemens alive again. I was a siemens user and very pleased with this fone. This is an ideal blackberry-function fone. Add 3g, wifi, quadband gsm, document viewer camera for video call, micro sd external memory, 1500mAh battery, and named it as siemens sk75.

  • For text messaging,i can do it on my phone,i had deleted the code by mistake,so i called T-Mobile and they help me with it.I wrote them down if you want them,i believe it will work for you.

  • I have had this phone for over a year too...Its a great phone the only problem is You cant use any of the features like blackberry, bluetooth and go online, I live in FLorida and T_Mobile is me carrier, I cant get anything on it. Its looks sweet and it works ok. If I could use all the features, It would be the best phone I ever owned!!! If anyone knows anything that I ddont about it, please hit me up

  • i can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear me- is there a mute button that is accidently ON - does any one know?

  • This phone SUCKz!! I hv been using this phone for quite a long tym. At first it works good. but as the tym passes its performence goes bad to worse.

  • I've had the phone for almost a year now. It's great and easy to use. Nothing special though in terms of extras. No email (in Canada), no camera, can't download ringtones, no mp3's. Basically if you are looking for a phone with no pizazz, besides the turning keyboard, you have found it. IF you just use it to text and talk then its great, but don't talk for too long, the battery life is horrible. You can't have it away from a charger for more than two days. Makes a trip for the weekend kind of a pain. I hope this helps anyone interested.

  • its a shame it has no mp3 reading software, camera... maybe we can live without the camera.. but still.. no card.. we need a lot of memory nowdays... but it's very good as a second phone ^^

  • This wonderful phone and good looking in hands. Its sounds system it pretty good.looking dashing.......! 1st..! but one thing i wana know that i no need of BB. So plz any one tell me that how to recover the 32MB memory instead of 8MB. 2nd...! i transfer one song through IR in SK65. this was having 5mints time in laptop but when i transfer i was unable to play that song and also the this time total time moblie show was 24.24 mints(1464sec) . Plz any one tell me about these problems. contect me [email protected]

  • i think that this phone is sweet if i had alot of money i would buy it,but not now after i seen what all you people said

  • I expected a little bit more of it. No camera, don't play no mp3s , the screen resolution is in the lower range and it is a bit bulky (i thought my nokia 6670 was bulky but this one is even worse !!!) Aside from that, the whole reason why i got this is for the keyboard and its GREAT! The interface is also pretty neat, nicely organized.

  • this phone is good expect for a few draw back;dont play mp3 , no memory

  • Hi Guys. this phone is absolute garbage. i had it for about 6 months i ditched it because it had many faults and it would turn off at random & battery life was 1 day -.- (i charged it normally) it only has 8mb memory avaliable to user. it was no good to me. now it doesnt work on optus australia. grr. ah well i got a new phone now :) lol Luke p.s please dont make the mistake i did by buying this phone.

  • I am trying to find a site to send an ota(Over the air activation) to the sk65, but i am having trouble finding one. I just need to send the settings for mms and internet for this model phone if anyone knows of a site please email or post on to this forum. Thanks Travis

  • great phone, love it, the blackberry works great, didn't have one problem with it, if i could chose again, i would coose it again. the flip-around bord is great

  • oh...and a CAMERA pls!!!!!

  • I LOOVVEE the idea of the flip around keyboard!...too bad it's a rubbish fone! if only nokia make something like this!

  • dont buy sk65.. it is garbage.. real garbage.. I used it for 1 month.. after one month it crashes.hangs, turn off suddenly.. lots of problems it has.. because of " not supporting " of siemnse co ,it's produts is so " quality less " .. dont buy it please.

My square control key on the keypad falls off and now it is missing but the phone looks more beautiful with 2 small white lights on the empty hole! Anyone could help me to find the spare part for the control key. Thanks.

  • does anyone know how to light up the keypad once its exposed? please post me with any helpfull suggestions. thanks

  • You cant store any other types of songs but polyphonic rings. This phone is not capable of storing MP3, WMA, or AAC ringers. Despite its a very innovative and professional phone it should become the predescessor to some new advanced SK.

  • When I try to sync my Outlook Calender to my SK65 it comes up with an error message, also it doesn't import all my Notes from Outlook. It seems to have sufficient capacity. I have uploaded the latest firm ware. Can anyone help me? Thnaks

  • Hay guys, Can u plz help me to Sk65 support mig33 software??? then i buy that set. plz help me.

  • Dear Rohani, I saw you SK65 conked out, would it possible to send a small spare part from you phone. I could not find this particular spare part as the model is about 2 years old. My phone is only 4 months old. Pls advice. Thanks Chong

  • Yep, this consumer version - the SK6RP - (as sold by Dick Smith; and it is NOT locked to Optus, despite what they tell you), does only have 8MB of user storage. The other 20-something meg is used by the BlackBerry software which you cannot uninstall, which is sad really if you don't use that. The phone is prone to a display glitch (even with updated firmware); the screen and all functions will freeze and the battery has to be taken out and put back in. Unfortunate, since the phone is otherwise great, with some good games for available for it, and the keyboard is cool and easy to use. It plays WAV files pretty decently, too, and it's easy to upload new sounds and images to use, and MicroReader makes it simple to read and edit eTexts.

  • i bought this phone from DSE for $129 and about a month after i had bought the phone it had conked out...so now i have to get a new phone..i thought siemens was a good and reliable mobile phone maker but i've changed my mind on siemens...

  • I need some reliable info regarding SK65 URGENTLY! Does SK65 has 64Mb or 30Mb memory? Also, does the pre-installed applications take up 21.75 Mb which are un-deletable? If this phone has just 8.25Mb of free space then its not worth buying! I was impressed about the 30Mb of storage capacity... Someone please clarify...thanks...E-mail me on: [email protected]

  • Any friend help me,how can use my sk65 30MB memory?? now i am able to use only 8MB memory. Ratan Bangladesh

  • ok... its rock' roll

  • I lost the black control key, located on the key pad below the "SK65" word. Pls help - where to buy the paticular spare part. Thanks

  • eMSN works. I believe agile and IM+ might work too. The j2me versions.

  • hai ... are there any chatting programme (such as agile msgr or mig33) can be used with seimens sk65?

  • What happens if you flash the Blackberry version with the non-Blackberry firmware? Do you get the memory back? Or do you wreck the phone?

  • Got mine from DSE too.. but wish I hadn't. Don't use Blackberry and it seems like a pain to setup. WAP's a bit hit and miss (sometimes works, sometimes doesn't). Had no trouble with USB. Only thing is you might have to restart your computer to get it to recognise the phone if it doesn't work.

  • does this phone not have speed dial?

  • On my SK65 pressing two keys at the same time works fine.

  • Is there a way to go from the Pro (Blackberry) version to the Non-Pro version? Would prefer more than 8mb of memory.

  • It's cool!!!!!

  • I'm really looking forward to buying this phone because it looks good and the features also appeal a lot.

  • Yes I've installed all the software and drivers. Once they are installed, my computer does not detect the phone anymore.

  • Dear All, Do not press 2 keys at the same time during SMS. Typed slowly and carefully and you would enjoy it! This would freeze the screen. Removed the battery and put it back, the phone would work fine.

  • have your first installed the software drivers into your computer before pluging in the USB cable to the phone?

  • ok, ive spent the past hour or so fiddling around with the usb cable. it doesnt even detect the phone, bah i give up

  • Thanks for that. I got the phone today for $129 at Dick Smith Electronics. I've charged it up but I can't get the thing connected to my comp to transfer files. I've connected it by usb and insalled the software it came with, but the computer doesn't detect it. Is there a special mode I have to go in from the phone? The manual doesn't say anything about the usb.

  • Oh, and you can still get it new & sealed with the prepaid deal for not much more on eBay Australia...

  • Strathfield or Dick Smith/Tandy would be your best bet. Get the sales assistant to look up which store/s still have it (if any).

  • Does Optus still sell this phone in Australia for $129? I've checked every and I can't find this deal. Maybe I missed out.

  • Holy Glitch Batman! The SK65 has a minor glitch with its screen display routine, it is prone to freezing and flickering. To snap it out, you have to switch off the phone by pulling out the battery, be careful as this can damage the braces holding the battery. See notes here on the glitch Please report the feedback to make this phone work even better. Carl C.

  • This phone is great! I got one for my birthday from my parents, and it looks so cool..smaller than i thought after people saying how brick-like it is. some kids came up and were so amazedby the flipping keyboard (whcih is really useful btw), and the screens pretty big too. the fact it doesnt have camera doesnt bother me, and for me the battery life is pretty good, ive had it oin for 3 days and its still pretty high! but sometimes (not very often) the phone randomly freezes and i hav figured the only way to fix it is to remove the battery...has anyone else had the same problem?

  • Perfect phone. Can anybody tell me if there is any option to instal mp3 codec for SK65?

  • Yeah I read in Siemens forums & I have one sollution : sale my SK6R & buy another one SK65 .

  • I've bought one yesterday. Can somebody help me...is it possible to read or write microsoft excel or microsoft word in this phone ? Thx

  • The Optus version (it's not locked to any network, despite what the sales people will tell you) is the SK6R Prosumer version; it comes with BlackBerry built in. You can't uninstall this application, so the quoted 32MB user storage is set at 8MB and you can't change it. Despite that, this is a great phone :)

  • Overall it is a good phone. The only problem is that it only shows 8 MB of space and I have read that it has 30 MB. Can someone explain why my phone is only showing 8MB of space. BTW it is possible to convert mp3 songs to AMR format which is playable on this phone.

  • This phone is great ! Reception is excellent. you can adjust font size to ultra large, good for long sighted people like me. Value for money, but not very user friendly. Takes a while to get use to.

  • HELP! Can sum1 please tell me how to flush/flash the ROM and re-install the firmware. My phone was PHONECODE LOCKED by a friend of mine and a diff sim wont work. I tried to update firmware but still no luck. I remember siemens website used to have a orig firmware for re-install available for download but its no longer there anymore. Siemens cust care wont gove me an answer. I love this phone. PLS help!

  • Just bought this phone, I know its nearly 2 years old !! but it really is a fantastic phone. It looks more class (bling bling) than any other phone apart from Vertu at a fraction of the cost. Good phone Siemens

  • Anyone had a chinese text on this phone? Pls advice.Thanks.

  • this phone os great....ive had it for awhile and no problems...dont need a camera people love the look...much smaller than you would think by looking at the pics

  • How can I delete the blackberry aplicaion ? really i don't need that. Thanks.

  • thanks kiwik i buy it new & tomorow it is possibile to come my order , i will see if in my box there is a data cable becouse the usb1.1 transfer speed is much bigger in comparation with bluetooth & i prefer a data cable . in romania i asked for data cable in case the phone doesn't have it & nobody has it. on the site they don't say anything about data cable.

  • The processor and receiving the files through Bluetooth is slow comparing to any phone. Any ideas

  • Bought new, the box comes with a USB data cable, but the phone also has bluetooth so you can transfer data that way.

  • Can someone tell me what is in the box? Data cable or something like that?

  • Great fone very cheap ($129 on optus compared 2 $800 outrite) 8/10 Menu/OS - great easy to nav design- looks good mayb a bit thick flip keyboard - very useful screen -good colour screen and large storage -reasonable connectivity - great connectivity bluetooth infrared nd cums wit data cable computer software - good phone apps - great organiser and other features battery - runs down easily but ok it would b nice 2 hav a camera nd mp3 but its not tha biggest disaster. There is a way to put wav songs on read down. Overall great fone.

  • I got it without the BlackBerry, the Bluetooth is too slow, any comments.

  • Got the new unlock GSM phone plus SIM card in Singapore for USD80 with a 2 years contract at USD17/month. It's really fantastics phone. Need to fine tune on the screen saver to save battery. Blueberry is too expensive in ASIA. Used email for the phone. Pay as you download. Could not active the Chinese function?. Anyone could help?

  • in Romania NoW this phone is 300USD So i'm asking why? 3G is here .No memory card ,No camera & just 8mb. WHY?

  • Make sure to turn the screen saver picture off (use Energy Saving option instead); set the screen brightness to 10% also helps. Many new mobiles suffer shortened battery capacity due to the high demands of their multimedia capabilities, not just this phone (one of the criticisms). Two to three days standy time seems about the norm.

  • go to SETUP, then select KEYBOARD, select KEYS LIGHTING, select OPEN KEYBOARD. You can select your fave function to be activated after Select KEYBOARD, say choose Compose MSG or New SMS. I found I really like the Sync with MS Outlook, you can type message and view them through the mobile phone manager utility, stored messages in the memory and the like, plus saving all you contacts to outlook as back up is invaluable, especially if you are like and have over 200 business contacts.

  • I bought this phone but he backlighting when it is open isn't working. is there a way to turn it on or is my phone just busted and i'm SOL?

  • Yes, you can still get those case/holsters (mentioned below, and in the list I posted below), but only from European online stores - you won't get them in Australia anywhere.

  • Some links to cases/holsters for SK65: SK65 FCL-630 - SK65 Cases_1 - SK65 Cases_2 -

  • Yes I agree a holster is a must with this phone, however I would suggest the Krusell 86190 Dynamic Multidapt Leather case. I'm not sure if they still make it, but it has a clear plastic front panel so you can see the screen with out opening the leather case.

  • The Leather Holster (FCL-630) official accessory for the SK65 is definitely worth the effort (and $41) ordering it from Germany. It's very high quality with two-tone leather construction, strong stitching, magnetic button clasp, and a great belt clip and loop. The delivery was very quick from Europe, too. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a better case :) This phone in Australia is the Prosumer version (variant SK6R); meaning (from what I gather) that this has BlackBerry built in and therefore reduced the user memory from the stated 32MB down to 8MB. It's still enough room for games, apps, etc. but for people (like me) who don't use BB it'd be good to be able to reclaim all that storage space.

  • Also, there are six different vibe settings for this phone ;)

  • Yes, this phone works with WAV files - I've uploaded lots of them and they work fine. Use WavePad and SoX to create the IMA ADPCM format WAVs. I'm ordering the official FCL-630 Leather Holster for this phone from Germany, since accessories for Siemens mobiles are no longer available in Australia (or even the phones themselves, besides the remaining stocks of this model). There are some bugs in Siemens software; occasionally the phone will switch itself off (looks like a software crash). Works great otherwise. Lots of good games for it, too (email me if you want some decent games :)

  • This phone will not work if you upload Wav files not even a 12 sec ringtone

  • Great phone. Could be updated from website or thru the air. check it out.

  • Is there a vibration function on the phone?

  • On the battery power, you have to go to set up to change the power settings, for screen light time 30 secs max, which is the big consumer of power, I found that playing the midi and wav files drains the battery very quickly if you go over 30 mins long play, the phone has also an auto power off. Otherwise the phone can go 3 days before recharging. Since using the SK65 SMS-ing is so fast I can write a whole page in a few minutes, definitively the best feature. I love that big ass screen, best feature for the price range too. I dropped the phone three times, christ the hardended aluminium casing makes it really tough nut to break.

  • nice phone, heard the battery life is not that good though, can anyone confirm this?

  • Hi guys, most accessories for the SK65 can be obtained from Ebay. Pretty good huh?

  • no camera??? thats bad,hey do you realize that in your keyboard says de word "qwerty" i haven't realize of it until i saw this phone's keyboard

  • Ah, it's all good with the MPM software. I figured out I have to make sure I'm out of any of the phone's directories in the Phone Explorer BEFORE closing the Explorer window. Closing the window while still in the phone's folders will crash Windows Explorer almost every time otherwise. Great phone (great games, too ;)

  • Has anyone tried the SK65 with a bluetooth headset ?? I have tried it with a Nokia 21W and the only thing I could do was to hang up the incoming call. Now Im using the Sony Ericsson HBH610, its better but Im not satisfied.

  • Hi, What do i need to do to use blacberry? ther eis a s/w in CD but i do not know, what i will do? Do i install it to mail server? İf yes, does this s/w have conflicts with exchange server? Help

  • This phone is great, but the PC phone software (or driver) keeps crashing on my WinXP SP2 system. Anyone else had problems with the software?

  • This is an excellent phone. I got this from Dick Smith's in Australia for $129. The keyboard is great for typing txts, and the phone itself has lots of good features - even for non-business people like me :p The only hiccup I've had is after buying a Force brand mobile phone case. The magnet clip seems to affect the software of the phone. As I put the phone in the case, the software will suddenly come out of keylock and open a new txt or something else; this only happens whenever the phone is near the magnet clip. Strange...

  • you can delete most applications by using the file browser found in the software you installed from the CD-Rom. Also, you can choose to reinstall applications one by one with the phone manager program and accessing the respective folders, I have windows XP Home version by the way. Also visit the customer care centre for more information, plus pdf manual, gee I sound like a call-centre operator. :-) PS: I think the phone suffers from a screen freeze glitch, I am investigating this to resolve it myself, available option so far is to pull out the battery.

  • I like this phone, it has a USB cable plus software support from BENQ ttp://www.benqmobile.com/ the company that bought the handset manufacturing arm from Siemens. The software support is the best one because you can synchronise email addresses, phones, et cetera from you computer. Moving files in and out of the phone is not a problem. Benq has software support in the form of utility programs, activating new features and graphics for free download and installed with the USB cable's CD-Rom drivers. This phone model was targeted to the corporate user market rather than the consumer one, hence no MP3 player or VGA/CIF cam. The phone can be interfaced to attach and send pics/sounds through MMS & surf the net. The rotating keyboard is ideal for fast SMS/MMS-ing so much better than the conventional keypads. The phone can also act as an internet modem for the laptop, I am yet to test this feature though. I gave the camera and mp3 player features a miss because I like a phone that will be reliable and not use its power to play MP3's or take pictures and then fail to power up when making calls, as it happened with the RAZR Motorola phone, besides the 3 Network has too many holes you won't believe it and I work in the middle of the Sydney CBD myself, I have to have a mobile that's reliable. Carl Cordova

  • out of the 30MB of "memory" for the user, 22MB of this is set aside for black berry saved documents that you may recieve/send such as emails etc. it is empty space but u can't put any of your saved files in it. there is 8.25MB of memory for that...

  • It is an awesome phone.i love the gadgets that are in the phone eg.mobile safe, emergency phonebook,Survival dictionary etc. The only bad thing bad about the phone is the shocking battery life on it, but thats ok.its got fairly good talk time.rating 8.5 out of 10

  • this fone is a lil rippa, i was abit angry that its was lock 2 optus but when a customer asked me to try it out and stick my VODAFONE sim card in yes i said vodafone, hey presto it worked, as soon as i relised i bought it, its a awrsum fone stoked it got bluetooth 4 the price and blackberry. all up 8/10.

  • can dis phone attach a camera?

  • The phone is pretty cool because no-one has it here in America, quite cheap and a blackberry comes with it. One has to know that the battery life on the phone is very bad, the phone can break very easily and besides its blackberry n keyboard, the phone doesnt have much to offer!!!!!

  • This phone looks alright, no camera :( not even a VGA!!! No MP3 ringtone support :( was thinking of getting it for $130 on Optus PrePaid in Australia but I really need a VGA camera to take pics of friends nd stuff at school, and I like MP3 ringtones!!!

  • Hello All, This phone seems to me to be awesome and I really dont see a lot of people in the states with it. (good thing)Could some one please tell me what else the phone has to offer beside the Blackberry emailing features? Thanks

  • Im thinkin of getting this phone in Aus for $129 on Optus. Is the phone too big to carry around & is heavier than normal at 144g. It seems to be almost as big as a 3210. It seems like a great phone but its size is the only concern. Any thoughts from current users?

  • realy good. it has tons of features! no problems so far.

  • realy good phone it has bluetooth, blackberry , and a full keyboard! cool as

  • even if the phone doesnt have camera, the phone looks good. has some of the best features, has 2 way functions and a full size key board. Sounds like a good phone 2 me.

  • I bought this phone and absolutely love it. I wanted a blackberry for ages, but they were so cumbersome, Good one Siemens.

  • Hi, I phurchased Siemens SK65 late nov/05, overall its a good Standard Mobile Ph, but I've noticed that my SK65 FREEZES on me when i have not used it longer then an hour, i need to take out the battery and put it in again! for it to work! Has anyone had the same problem? or could you tell me why this happens? Thanks Take care.

  • Yes dick smith electronics in australia have the phone for $129 with optus, its on sale for another few weeks or while stock lasts. Was over $700 in october 2005, what a drop in price ah. Cheers !

  • Hello, sk65 supports instant messeneging? I didn't see this feature anyware and it would be a shame because it has that nice qwerty keyboard only for sms and mails. Please share if you have any info regarding this topic. 10x!

  • Hi guys, Im from australia and im intrested in this phone just wondering if others can help me out with some questions. Ive read that optus sells this phone for $130 is this true ? and also is it out already, on ebay they go for $160 on the 22nd december 2005, does this have pda like software or something like that, i have no clue about black berry. Thanks heaps.

  • This phone sucks. although optus has it cheap go to vodafone they are doing a great price on this. Aus only

  • If you have to cry that it doesn't have a camera this phone is not for you! Excellent handset great blackberry device! Only thing is that I can't get the battery to last too long. Can you help?!

  • yess that is true yeebus. But its more expensive to buy all of the items seperatly. And its handy to have them in the one small device..and for it to be ....mobile

  • Hi AM zuardi thnkx a lot for ur help. Is there any way i can delete those default applications cuz in Bangladesh i do not need that BlackBerry option..

  • The 30MB stated on the Technical Specifications of the Siemens SK65 is the over-all internal memory of the phone. 21.75MB of this 30MB memory are the pre-installed applications and Blackberry Programs, which are read-ony files and are not possible to be modified or changed. The remaining 8.25MB is dedicated to the Flexi File System, where you save all your files (received or created) like messages (e.g. E-mails, MMS, SMS) and downloaded applications (e.g. pictures, icons, ringtones). hope this helps.

  • Hi All...can u guyz plz help me...i recently buy this phone from bangladesh the problem is thjat is shows only 8.5MB of memory available.buy i was said that it has 30MB for user..can any body help me with this problem?? Thankx For ur help

  • I think some of you are missing the purpose of a phone. The purpose of a phone is to make phone calls. Does it really need a camera, mp3 playing capabilities, a card reading slot??? If you want a camera, buy a digital camera, if you want a mp3 player, buy one and if you want more memory space on the phone some wierd reason, ask yourself, a normal at home phone doesn't need all this crap so why should my mobile variety of phone have it? So stop bitching about it.

  • Hi all, just for real users of this gem of a blackberry device... who are interested about extending battery life... the Siemens one press shortcut interface is one of the best around... use it as a shortcut to activate/deactivate bluetooth and GPRS. Never set your SK65 to the digital clock screensaver as it seriously drains battery. Controlling these 3 setting will see you double your battery time easily. Cheers all, hope that helps some users out there.

  • i have seen this phone at the showroom 2day and i hv gone crazy 2 buy it???!!!Itz so awesome in such a chip cost.I simply love this phone.

  • hi all this phone in aust sk65 is not simlocked to any network it tryed vodafone telstra and many outhers it works as long as u don't use the 10 doller sim card that comes with it becouse it will lock the fone to optus with the sim that comes with it it's about $850 out right though optus but on prepaid no locks it's only $129 as some people have paid $800 bucks for the same thing i just don't get how some people are bye all please feel free to e-mail me about it anytimes michael .

  • The sell phone simply the best.Because, 64MB memory is to long. But it would have been better if there were a camera.

  • Just ordered one for $179 in the US. Couldn't resist because it looks so awesome. I suspect this form factor could beat out the competition if it incoporates an MP3 and 2 megapixel camera. Time will tell.

  • the cell phone in simply good as well as economical. it would have been better if there were a camera but the prize advertized here doesn't matches everywhere

  • Can any one tell me that Can I user yahoo or msn Messenger-Chat via GPRS

  • wow this is really weird 64mb memory....shuld have camera and mp3 but also its weird that this phone is only aus 129 dollars!

  • hi i like the phone but it will be better if it had a camera.

  • Will the blackberry feature work with american providers, if yes with wich ones? thank you

  • hello! love the fone..am having huge problems with converting mp3 to amr..any help would be soo appreciated..where to go or read about it?

  • Can some one please help me by telling me how to use the Blackberry function? like how do u setup an account?? Many thanx

  • Picked up the SK65 at Optus (Aus) for $129!! What a bargin. I like the QWERTY keyboard and style of the phone. I don't like the user interface at all. Note that the label on the back of this phone states that it is made by BenQ in Germany. All in all for $129 this is the best value phone I have ever purchased.

  • it is absolute madness ! $129 at Optus prepaid and the phone comes unlocked. Best offer on a phone ever... Run to your local optus store cause offer is strictly limited. Australia only.

  • I would like to know how many recepients can I send 1 sms that all get the same sms example 1 sms to 50 recepients at once in 1 sending with the Sk65 Siemens? I look forward for your info thanks God bless.

  • does dis fone have cell info display.. causei can't get it to work

  • I'm loving this phone and its been with me for 1 day and its the BEST!!! but does anyone know where i can get software..... Thank you in advance..

  • Terrific phone we sold out of the Optus prepaid ones the day we got them in!

  • OK for all you people who complain about this fone haviing no camera, no mp3 player, etc, grow up and get over it.. obviously this fone was ment to do other more important things, its functions and capabilities are ment for a sertain type of mobile fone users, and if its not u, get over it.Not evry fooone is ment to be perfect for every mobile/cell fone user...

  • no camera no mp3 its as big as my old 3315 and the qwerty keyboard is too small for fingers and too big for a stylis, unless you're in aus and buying optus pre-paid for $129 why bother?

  • this phone is being sold by optus as a pre-paid phone for just $129!!! apparently they are worth $859 outright. if you really want 1 of these and you live in australia then i suggest that you get down to your local optus shop (or allphones shop) and grab 1 cause stocks are limeted!!!

  • the more important with sk 65 with out camera and not all the people would like to get like this mobile, but for me i like it very much because till now i have never seen any one have like sk65,not like nokia all the people can get it. thank you

  • This phone is being used by Kimi Raikkonen. No wonder since SIEMENS is the sponsor of McLaren-Mercedes F1 team... :-)

  • Does anyone guide us on how to sync Outlook contact database to the SK65 Blackberry contact data base. The calendar syncs but the contacts do not. Your help will be appreciated

  • The phone has a cool design.Unable to create a demand in Asia due to disabilty to accept chinese text messages. That's the setback for Asian market!!!!!

  • ....Well, despite that the SK-65 doesn't have a camera.....to all those "cry babies" out there, this phone gets BIG brownie points for originality, functionality, and "coolness". I just ordered one last week, and it's everything I thought it be. I'm coming from the Nokia 9290 so it's only obvious I'm loving this phone....and the "red illuminated keyboard...now that's COOL!!!

  • went to the store to look at it, three telstra employees combined couldn't get it to work properly but i could, they took the battery out and somehow it stayed on too. love this phone. p.s. i'm the guy that says "this phone is overly difficult and complicated to use, i think i'll buy two"

  • this phone doesn't have a camera and its $h1t.

  • Everything about SK65 is just perfect. But is it always this hard to open the attachment? Is there any additional software to speed up the file opening?

  • I think they have finally come up with a phone which is practical , especially when it comes to writing and sms. mms. and email...I find it very easy to use.

  • Hey Guys, Is anyone using this phone in the US? Just got it. The phone is a piece of jewelry. Only I can't seem to make the Black Berry feature work. Can anyone help!!?? Thanks so much in advance!!

  • i was specifically looking for a phone WITHOUT the camera that has everything i need and this is it. i am now waiting to have it available in the stores at a more affordable price (seems to be arround 250euro for now).

  • this mobile is fine but it has not camera and not infrared.

  • Cracking handset. Perfect solution for Blackberry users, way better than carrying a tabletop around with you which is what life with a blackberry was like. Tip Top.

  • great keyboard, excellent Blackberry implementation but APPALLING battery life. Unusable for me, unless I carry a charger around with me. ( I get a lot of calls!)

  • for those who liked the 6800 and 10,20,22 it's an interesting and cheaper alternative but it's battery life it's still too short comparing to 6800 or 6810!

  • This is a great business phone. It is not meant to be used by everyday users. Only buy this phone if you want to access your email via blackberry! Great phone!!!!!

  • Gorjan, its to stop people like u from devaluing it by comparing mega pixel sizes, because that's not what a phone is meant to do. And for those people that think their camera phone is cool but takes less than 3MB pixels and has no card slots must be really kidding themselves. This phone is cool with built in blueberry support. Great for serious business end users to maximise the power of communication.

  • YUCK!!!! it almost WANTS to make me sick. what a cheap and tacky bit of trash. the software and Accessibility on this phone is the poorest i have seen in all my years of working with phones. i can see this phone snatching the Title for being the worst ever pohne. DO NOT BUY !!!! BIG THUNBS DOWN.

  • i ve used it it is quite a cool phone it is a phone to use

  • I don't get the idea of making a high-end phone with no camera. This is a really big miss, and missunderstanding of the market.

  • hi realy i have 3 mobile butt i like only siemens sk65 realy its verry verry good mobile

  • I'm really thinking about this model.

  • i work for o2 in england on the sales team. we dont store this phone but feel we really should promote this handset big-time, what a fantastic idea, well done

  • Hey guys I was wonderin do u think theyre gonna make another version of this phone wth camera and mp3? And what about the size? IS it too big..(i have an ngage, so i dont think thats much of a problem lol) anyway, please sne d areply cuz if they are makin another one and anyone knows abuot it im definitely waitin for that thanks!

  • It's a great phone,I want to buy it but in the review I saw it has a 100 missed call records!!! It's a mistake or it's true?

  • I like the fact this phone does not come with a camera! Many places I visit during work do not allow cameras at all(security concerns)! I believe this phone is designed and targeted at working professionals. Nice phone. ; )

  • to xytras: complaing about camera? get a proper digital camera. its main function is to call and receive calls not taking photos.

  • Oh BTW, I need a mini-SD card in the upcoming SK70 or SK75 models, with max capacity of 512MB to 1GB. And also, I need thickness of those phones in around 18 to 14mm. And support for MP3 and AAC (Advanced Audio Coding). Yes, I listen to classical songs... WiFi support might also be needed since this phone's functional design looks toward to PDA phones anyway.

  • This SIEMENS SK65 is the one that I look so long. The size is OK, only the 20mm thickness is a bit too thick (I still use the old Ericsson R320sc with 12mm of thickness MgAl - magnesium alloy - chassis). No camera is fine by me, since the present technology only reaches 1.3Mpixels. If phonecam technology already reach 3Mpixels and this phone still don't have one then I should start complain about it :-)

  • Siemens have designed mobile phones to be as simple to use as possible and have come up with a good looking handset. SIEMENS Global network of innovation.

  • good design..but no cam...FUCK SHIT UP!!!

  • This phone looks so drop-dead stylish. Its bad point is that it has no camera and its quite long. But aside from the fact, its a beautiful phone with blackberry in-built which is really great.

  • i think this phone would have been fantastic if it had a camera and mp3 abilities

  • I've tried this phone. Ppl, this is one of the best. After using SK65's keyboard, I know: Joysticks-SUCKS. It's ergonomic, weight is perfect - not a plastic toy and not a stone. Sound and display - very good. Memeory - enough for this phone. Camera really would suit this phone, but Siemens often do ALMOST perfect phones. It's a pity. All other in it is what a nnow is needed. It's worth having.

  • Hey guys i am thinking of buying this phone is it worth it ?? also can anyone recommend me any good phone with mp3 player or something , i heard there are some phones with mp3 ringtones thts diff , i wanted it to be a player

  • this ain't a smartphone guyz..look!!! it's only have a blackberry feature embedded.that's all. and for me..it's not immportant at all.plis dehh.. but still, it's a good idea on the qwerty keyboard and the screen. better than other siemens. unfortunately, no camera, no mp3 capability.

  • nice phone by the looks of it...um, need to know, would it really be better with a camera? currently lookin for a new fone, and this looks like text-messaging heaven for me (being a student and all)...any bad things i should know about it?

  • I think because the phone do not support MP3 and no cameras hence there is really no need to include external memory incurring additional cost

  • I think siememns SK 65 is good enough for a smart phone. But why is'nt there a memory cars slot?

  • Another innovation from Siemens :) I wonder how long it will take 'till others will copy the idea (Siemens also invented the 'slide' phone, now copied by Samsung and others. Hope it will be on the market soon

  • I was always looking for a phone without a camera but had everything else such as bluetooth, infrared, java (I'm not being sarcastic). This also has a great design too with the qwerty keyboard! I need to know when it will be available in Australia.

  • I think this is the phone I've been waiting for ever since my Ericsson R380 gave up on me. I wanted some method of easy text entry, and I absolutely have no need for childish features as integrated cameras that serve no real purpose except to drain battery. I also like the clean and functional design unlike some wacky experiments out there. The 'cross' design is brilliant in its simplicity.

  • its nice extremely nice and i'll like to have one.thanx

  • wooohh... I love this phone, especially for its design. But... Why there's no camera on it??!!! I love the feature, the design and all of this phone. I'll wait until Siemens produce the New Generation of SK65!! (With brand new camera, of course!)

  • truly a very eye-catching phone. black and chrome - the best! a copy of 6800? i don't think so. it was nokia who copied a lot from siemens. they copied SX1 in the 7600, nokia copied the sliding SL10 in the 7650. nokia likes copying so much :)

  • very nice

  • What is 6800? A street number? crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fantastic phone by siemens. love this sk65. great design. great idea. great features. great looks.

  • this cell phone is made after seeing nokia 6800 its a copy of 6800 just the fucking ass of this revolves and looks gud this cellphone can be only used by siemens executives coz a person who knows abt cell phones will hate siemens

  • This is a fantastic take on the QWERTY form-factor. Great business features, and the exclusion of a camera is a stroke of genius. Why? Not because businesspeople don't need or want a camera, but because many workplaces now ban cameraphones. Great to see Siemens innovating again.

  • I think that the sk65 is great mobile!!!! Bring on the nokia's

  • sorry, the net got disconnected.i think i have the SIEMENS SK65 in mind.the features are so great u can'tbewithout it.

  • no camera ??? sucks

  • for how much in europe?

  • best

  • I will change my blackberry for this one!!!

  • I think this phone's design would be much better without that weird keyboard behind. What is the point of it?Pluck that keyboard out and the design is just perfect for me.I dont need keyboards when i can type the same thing on the keypads, and more importantly a camera would do more justice.

  • huge!

  • hey.... you all camera nuts this is a BIZness fone not a (I want to have fun with my friends ) gr8 fone by the way

  • it sucks that theres no cam in it, but the design with the turn is a very good idea..

  • Big 'n' heavy...where would i put it?!

  • When will the phone be available in the US and for which service carrier? If not, could it still be purchased?

  • Please let me know when can I buy this phone Siemens SK65

  • i think sk65 id the great phone sel witw the best fitures. sk65 best choise for tenn, excecutive, dynamic people.(i hope this selphone is mine :D )

  • i think sk65 id the great phone sel witw the best fitures. sk65 best choise for tenn, excecutive, dynamic people.(i this selphone is mine :D )

  • how much siemens sk65?

  • sam !! dont take it so seriously love !! its only a commercial !! no seriously please dont quote me, i have copy writes on all that i write.

  • It's a nice phone, but a bit too big and too heavy. It would hardly fit in my pocket. Design is average

  • "HELLO !! its a corporate phone, not a domestic phone, as in business use -therefore it concentrates more on the business user essentials i.e. blackberry technology rather than a camera d'oh me Unknown 2004-08-03 18:51:27" Some people in business need camera as well. Of course if you are an accountant sitting in the office the whole day, you wont need it. But some top management level people need it while patroling factories, or others to have a quick snapshot of maybe evidences, machinary problems, etc.. You cant expect them to bring a digicam everywhere.

  • awesome phone!

  • u phone nuts are so easy to wind up - love it, bet most of u are men

  • will this fone toooo long?? i think this fone suitable 2 those UNCLE(busness men) tat dunno wat is the use of fone

  • add a camera also not difficult... y this fone dont hav? n y this fone got no memory expansion slot?? this should be useful if got all function..

  • A camera is needed for the busness man who isnt a big snop that likes to have fun :p.

  • handy phone.my job hunts me anywhere i go.this phone is gonna help me

  • Why put things in a phone when you don't need it.

  • Totally not my phone! it's so big and that qwerty thing is weird. :S About the nokia 9500, it maybe has a camera but it still isn't usefull...

  • usualy i like siemens but this 1 suck

  • Is the best I will buy it instead of Nokia 9500, I could't care about the camera is not usefull.

  • Nice phone can't wait to see them

  • That dosnt mean they shouldn't add a camera, the nokia 9500 is for busness and that has a camera :P.

  • HELLO !! its a corporate phone, not a domestic phone, as in business use -therefore it concentrates more on the business user essentials i.e. blackberry technology rather than a camera d'oh

  • Gr8 lookin phone but misses basic feature like camera

  • this phone hosts a great kind of innovation.lets wait and see when others will copy it.

  • kinda BIG
