How could you say the camera isn't bad... Its very bad...Back when I bought it only a very few camera's had 5MP.It was like today's 16 MP camera.I was super excited to get it...But the worst thing I felt is the camera. When I took the photo of a red sofa,it appeared pink.The color reproduction was extremely poor.I felt jealous of my friends having 2MP Nokia phones. It is then I realised that the quality of a photo depends not only on the mega pixel count.Other than this and a kind of lagy UI,the phone was pretty much OK...

It was a jewel of a phone,it lasted me 4 years,kept in mint condition,and still rolls at one of my friends since 2012,there was absolutely,nothing that you couldn't do with this phone,i had the best video player a mobile phone could ever have,even better than most android players this days,mp3 player also,i could even install windows 98 on this phone,my god,it was perfect from any angle i could watch it,also it totally worth the 480 Euro i payed on it back then :)

This phone was the pure waste of my money. Luckily, it was not too expensive. It was slow, touchscreen was inaccurate, and "the crown jewel" was extremely bad network reception, even in the areas close to transmitting antennas; in the end, firmware went bonkers and I even couldn't turn it on. I adressed the licensed repair service, but no luck. Finally it got out that the entire G900 series was bad, and to get a quality piece was the pure matter of lottery. I was glad when I got rid of mine. On the positive side, camera wasn't bad.

Software not very reliable, internal memory problems, can't clear the temporary storage, need to upgrade or re-install the software everytime.. Moreover the TERRIBLE SERVICE from the Sony Ericsson service centre... Strongly recommend not to buy any Sony phones.

This is one of the worst mobile phone which has been created (if it was not the worst). If the awful speed along with horrible camera can not stop you from buying this phone you should now that after a while you will find some series problems with its touch screen. I have had this phone for more than 2 years and believe me or not it is a disaster!

Can only agree with you. First I thought it was because I had bought mine as a second hand. A plus is that it can read 16GB m2 cards (Sandisk m2 16GB) but I think this bigger than supposed to card also slows down the G900... But it's a nice phone and I'm glad to have it in my collection...

I am using this Phone from past around 4 Years and I am really dis-happy with this phone. The over all performance is worst so far. The one and only reason I repair again and again and using this is because I spent it around Rs. 22000. So, I am not able to throw this simply. Keep repair again and again. Also the following are the major issues on this mobile, #1. Hanging up without any reason. #2. Restart without any reasonable reason. #3. Over heat when use Bluetooth/GPRS/3G #4. After a year I am not able to use the wireless Bluetooth headset which they said that need to re-install software and then they said that need to get serviced and all done so far not able to connect. #5. Camera is WORST at all. They saying 5 Mega Pixel camera but not even worth for 1 Mega pixel quality. #6. After a year spear is not that much quality as well. So, now a day's SONY is not good and they are loosing their quality and their valuable customers as well. Even I posted this to their website complaint box as well but so far no one is followup. This is possibly the worst phone ever made. When it works it isn't too bad but it will definitely break. Mine lasted for six months and then was sent away every month for the next six month to be repaired. I eventually got fed up of sending it away to be repaired and bought a different model phone. It is a junk phone . Good for nothing. Never ever buy it even if you get it free. Once the touch pad is not operational, you can't answer a call. There is no way to end a call also . Its touch screen always gives problem and I replaced it 3 times in last 2 years. Still it is not working properly. It is dam slow and will make you mad .

i have this fone for more than 2yrs. i used to like se but not until i got this fone.im so dissapointed.internet,game,even just to open contacts or messaging its very slow...sometimes it turns itself off in the middle of doing something.i have tried updating or refreshing software. still no good. there was a day that i got iritated that i purposely threw my fone on a concrete wall. scattered into pieces...broken housing. Piece of junk! Nothing was good with this one. Touchscreen was too small and too non-precise to be handled (even with stencil), the antenna malfunctioned after six months, software was too slow... When I managed to get rid of it, it was certainly relief.

If you are looking for this phone, please be prepared to take real good care of it. It does really have good features and everything simple. It works fine for a year and so. I didn't take care of it and it really worn out. My cover were peeling off after half a year. The software getting very slow. The camera quality drop a little. Thanks.

i had this phone for almost 3 years. i'm an avid SE phone user, i had SE phones before this. but this one disappointed me. out of the box it had minor problems like when you open multiple apps, the camera crosshair remains on the main interface, a glitch but it happened to me more than a couple of times. the camera image quality was good at first til i noticed the xenon flash went bad and wasn't synchronized when taking a photo, photos taken with flash is crappy. The touchscreen eventually went bad after about 2 years, i use the stylus before, but then i just relied on the keypad. anyway, good points on this is the notepad. very handy. the music quality is good. the interface on phonebook is also good. overall i give it a 2.75 out of 5

I had this phone around 2 years. I consider it as a good phone since it can actually manage my schedule well and the notepad is very useful to me. However when in come to gaming, it is extremely slow. Not much game that I can play with since the performance of the phone is quite slow. Other than the slowness of this phone, other functions are consider as good.

I had this phone since 1 - 2 years. Dissapointed of it, at the first the battery was ok, in time it was empty in 2-3 days. The touch screen is awful, first time it has broken itself from inside and got it repaired on the guarantee. Now it's broken twice, same thing, touch screen, from the inside. I bought the phone as it had a great offer for the camera, tracking id, recording and stuff. But the problems i had forced me to use another phone (the guarantee service keeps it 2 weeks). Now i will repair it by myself as it's out of the guarantee period but i won't use it as my first phone anymore. G900 was a bad experience for me much or more with its inside advantages, the problems i had didn't allow me even to answer the calls. If the touch screen goes bad ... than the whole phone is useless.

If the touchscreen has suddenly stopped working and you suspect that it was dropped, someone sat on it etc. then press all the edges of the touchscreen/phone and ensure that the alignment is correct.

u don open too many application on the same time. After u use those application, u jz go to task manager to close it. background application is not only use up your RAM but also battery.

I think the best solution for you is to buy other phone. The G900 has only 208 MHZ, and it is slow. If you don't want to sell it, delete some unnecessary files from your phone.

I purchased G900 in september 2009. Had to shell out 13000 bucks for this set( in exchange for W700i), but now I feel as if SE has started cheating its customers. The Camera quality is really bad, u can get good snaps from a 2.0 mp camera as compared to the 5.0 mp which this set offers. Secondly, the body and the quality of plastic is not upto the mark, cracks start appearing on the sides of the front panel. The touch screen hangs sometimes, so u'll have to restart the set. Even the material used in earphone accessories is not good. The wire material is too delicate. After 5-6 months of use, dust started to accumulate under the screen. I went to the SE service center, got it cleaned up, but after 10 days, it all stared again. Really had a bad experience with this set, and now getting only Rs.3000 as its resale value. Guys, whoever is thinking of purchasing this model, please care about your money, and don't go for this set.

I would strongly recommend people not to buy this phone. Not only is its performance below par, it also has a poor touch interface. Moreover, Sony is taking people for a ride the camera is definitely not what they claim to be. The resolution is very basic

I have been using this phone for around 1.5 years. I would say this phone is just waste of your hard earned money. though there are few good features like document reader(pdf,word) but i would say its not worth to bey it. Camera quality is not good in low light, can not sense motion at all, Touch is not good, Gets hang very often. Battery backup is not very good. The accessories like the touch stick got broken even with not such force or rough use. Overall i would say do not buy this phone just for the shake of Sony Ericssion name.

I do not like this phone..had it for about 1 year & then later on, it started hanging up! Went to the mob. repairer but he said there was no problem with the software & that the touch was the culprit that was causing the hang! Now I'm using SE ELM. In the beginning it was hard to adjust to elm b'cuz i had got so used to the features of G900, but now i've finally got used to it! :)

I am an ex-user of g900, use it for a year and now I am using nokia c6. Let me conclude the pro and con for new buyer pro: 1.reasonable price for it's feature 2. Touchscreen is ok and the writing recognition is good for non-english text 3. Very compact 4. Wifi connectivity is strong. Download opera mini for it. 5. Music quality and music player interface is awesome 6. Camera quality is good! Yes its good but look at the cons. con: 1. My stylus broke after week. Although it has a spare one. 2. UIQ3 is dead. No apps for it. 3. UIQ3 is very unstable and unreliable. 4. Processor is too weak, the UI is very unresponsive and not touch-friendly. 5. Camera is very vulnerable to scratches! The camera lens lose a lot of quality due to the scratches! 6. SE has abandoned UIQ3, so no more f firmware update and support.

i've used g900 for almost 6 mos and i never had a prob on it... for me it's a nice phone the touch screen is very responsive,the sound is so nice even the battery has a long life and not to forget the wifi i really enjoy it. it's super fast to connect..but on the other hand there are times that the camera is a little blurred.. but most of the time it is ok... so i recommend this unit.. you won't regret having this unit..

By now, the G900 can only be considered a "basic" phone. However, I have had this thing nearly a year, it is a solid, dependable tool. There's not much to choose from vs the W960 I think. Both have simple touch screen. G900 has a decent media player interface ... even UI is nearly identical on all things. Pick based on price, you'll be happy with either I think.

i am also a big fan of sony ericson phones., in response to what if what would be better for you between G900 and W960, i would rather choose G900. G900 is a newer model compared to W960. G900 has also a higher MP camera with digital stabilizer, has more powerful battery so it means it has higher standby time. The 2 phone models has almost the same feautures. The only good thing about W960 is its 8gb internal memory (but G900 has an expandable memory also up to 8gb - u just have to buy a memory stick). remember also that W960's memory is not expandable. W960 has 2.6 inches screen but they have the same resolution with G900. I would advice you to choose G900. But the final thing is it depends on what style of phone would prefer most.

I have been using this Phone for moew than a year. It is a cool Phone with all Essential features. The Tocuh and Keypad is a plus for this. The 5 MP camera is Wow for out door.. and pritty bad for indoor.. but after all it is Mobile Cam ;) so nver mind it.. I must say that I have chnaged the Touch screen once. But that was fully well my fault. If you are using it frequent placing it in your Jean you are to get this problem. take care of the touch screen with a screen guard or a pouch.. you can use it for ever :)The Sound is enough Loud... Best you can choose to have the sound levels for SMS, Ringtione and Mails by dragging the level bar.. Happy bout G900.

I'm using a G900 for over a year and it's a wonderful phone. I love it for its Wi-Fi connectivity and its Opera browser. It connects seamlessly to my Livebox broadband and I can hanve Youtube, Facebook, Skype, etc on my G900. In fact, it almost replaces my laptop. The G900 has microsoft 'quick office', pdf reader. It's 5Mpix camera is fairly good, though not as good as 'K-series SE phones', but it does the job! The media player is very pleasant to use and sound quality with plug-type earphones is awesome. It's 'sticky notes' and organiser are so handy. I had no major software problems with my G900 during 1 year extensive use [cross fingers! LOL] and battery life is decent. The G900 is the perfect all rounder smart phone that won't ruin you at purchase! My previous SE phones: K810, W850, K550, K750.

I have been using this phone for more than 2 years now. It's really the first phone I bought immediately at its launch. I had done an extensive 2-month research before buying and can say that it has served me well. The screen did give some problems a year and a half after I bought it. Thankfully, I had extended my warranty into the 2nd year. Replacement parts would have been exhorbitantly expensive. What I don't like: A. Slow processor. I bought a nokia E60 4 years ago and it had 208MHz processor. G900 has only 200 and it was 2.5 years ago! Phone will start to slow down loading the many pics and songs that I put in there. Phone will also be a lot slower if its internal 128MB is occupied more than half. B. No 3.5mm audio jack. The converter is a hassle as the connection tends to get loose. C. Poor picture colours with the camera. D. Taking notes on Microsoft Word in the phone tends to be slow. The screen can't keep up with my typing speed. A workaround solution was to type in Notes, then copy and paste into Word. E. Sony bug that plagues phones with hanging and resetting. I'm thinking it's due to not enough RAM or processing speed. What I do like: 1. Notes function that's simple and handy for doodling. 2. Best of cybershot functions (unfortunately, not the colors) e.g. paranoma, multishot, flash, etc.. and Walkman functions (Super Bass) in a PDA phone. Good music player that has really decent sound. 3. Wifi. Back then, this was really important to save on data charges. Those days, not many had wifi and were slim. 4. Slim and small with so many functions. Many people were surprised when I took out the stylus. They weren't expecting it. All in all, it did match up to my expectations of an upgrade to E60. It's still going strong enough to keep me from upgrading. I'm looking at the E7 to be the replacement for this phone as it is the similar business phone with everything else as a bonus on it.

i've used g900 for 1 year and i did not like this mobile for it's slow speed my g900 is now totally dead because of interruption while i was updating it's firmware via SE website i was going to sell g900 after 1 day when this incident happen.. my g900 is still in warranty but i've lost receipt:-( now i'm using i8910 omnia HD which run on Symbian S60 5.. only for operating system i prefer my g900 whose OS is Symbian UIQ really really well G900 hardware is totally failure but software is a way better than S60 5th for a lot of reason i miss only G900 os i wish it were in my Omnia HD instead of S60 5th..

I have this phone for 1.5 years and it is still working perfectly!The only thing that disappointed me is the low quality of the photos and that sometimes is lagging when you are watching photos. This is acceptable because it doesn't have such fast CPU to run these applications which are "heavier" than the previous mobiles of SE that had the basic SE software and not the Symbian OS of G900... But generally it is a great mobile phone and you can do your work quickly and easily... ;)

the bluetooth does not lack, sometimes it does not recieve file due to security problem and the passkey problem. it happens specially when a phone is added in your devices. when you connect to pc through usb, for disconnsecting u have to change the connection status from file trasfer to phone mode. then the icon on your phones will change. then u can disconnect the cable. otherwise the phone may lack.

no, you cant answer with a key as u can see there is no standard make call or cancel keys (red/green).. yes its annoying i have to agree. even when your in some menu and need to get back to desktop immediately... u have to press back back back zzzzz...(annoying) but in time you will get used to it and i find answering with the touch screen much more convenient. whatever it is, its a great phone.

i have used this for 1.5 years. this phone is great. if the picture quality is not good, you have to clean the lens cover for both sides. also the phone speed is good. it is not as fast as java phones, but i have no problem with the speed. it has every thing that you need. good camera. acceptable video quality. wifi is exellent. you have an amazing document editor and a good pdf viewer. several applications are also available. only the on screen keyboard is not tumb optimized. i can use easily the opera mini 5 on screen keyboard with my finger. but i have to use pen for the phone keyboard

The worst fone I EVER HAD! The touchscreen is actually a liability coz eventually it dies and you can only answer calls with the tuochkeys. Super slow interface also. If you need a candybar with wifi go for Motorola Motozine ZN5. No touch screen, and no 3g but superior build and 3,5mm jack. The interface was actually well designed on G900, if only it was given a better processor.

The tphone hav UIQ series of software and the conpany that was making this software got bankurpt in 2008.. so itz really difficult to get the parts of this hone as sony had stop manufacturing this product since that.. they r just selling the stock which they hold.. so in my opinion dont buy this phone as after 1 year when warrenty gets over, this phone will become very expensive to get repair as its parts are not available..

well this phone has been discontinued already probably because of the problems. in fairness to G900, it is very elegant looking, ergonomics is good(only if they have just added also a keypad for the calls and options softkeys), and many great features(just too much that the phone can't handle everything of it).

i have been using this phone for about a year. Drop it a many times, and yet it still work as normal. more solid phone comparing ither touch screen phones. surfing the net, sometimes lag and hang. so its only for light users, and not heavy users of wifi. for the camera, at the begginnig was good, and then it becomes blurrer image, compared to my friends 2mp phone withpyut auto focus. Overall tocuh screen is easy, sms easy, has document viewer, and also has an office which is very conveninet. FOR THe price you pay, its WORTH it. GOOD work sony.

Well at first it was nice... but it failed slowly... First, the top panel (cover of earpiece & front camera) peeled off. i just taped it back w/ a double sided adhesive tape. then just now the touch screen doesn't work anymore... im gonna let this problem go only if it doesn't bring me trouble in accepting calls or selecting some options since there is no alternative keys for the bottom panel of the touch screen display (right/left softkeys). im already canvassing for a new one.

hello legend108... is that when you are using the SE PC Suite backup service? Just w8 for it to finish backing up your files... its not too long, your phone does not freeze after all... just wait for it... then when the backing up of files is already through, good thing to do is to turn-off your phone then get the battery, m2 card and sim card and then after 5-10mins, put it back together... presto your phone will be ok...

I have this phone for about 3 months already. I works fine except for some minor problem such as hanging once in a while (about 4 times till date), slow (after i clear the task manager but it is expected), and sensitive (especially when using the QWERTY keyboard available but may due to my big thumb or the small buttons). Other than that(s), I quite impress. Camera may not be really good, but still nice. the sound also. But if can, is there anyone know any website where i can downloads apps for this phone? Thanks.

@dude from gerogia : doesnt matter where its constructed, just make sure its an original one from SE with SE worldwide service / warranty claim. You have peace in mind. Since there's a lot of china products, why dont you try the dubai one and give us your review :) @clientelle : sorry couldnt reply you earlier, yeah its does play wmv coz i've tried some home made movies before with excellent sound. and im glad that it worked for you. Dont believe in some of the crap people are posting here. For simple usage of a touch screen mobile phone with keypads. This is the only best phone around Pros: easy to use, fairly small, Great Ringtone sound volume (loud), has alphanumeric keypads as u can see. nice photo slide functions, and music player. business home screen is very good. Battery life is superly superb. stylus is unnecessary. Cons: as all other touch screen phones, the g900 screen will have problems at times. but you can live with it. Cheap plastic materials (suit the price). 5 mp camera doesnt live up to its name (still fairly good) Been using this for almost 2 years, never sent for repair. although had problems at times. You wont regret owning this gem of a phone, trust me. Best i ever had for a touchscreen phone both function and battery wise. Not planning to change to any new touchscreen craps that promises so much nowadays but only to end up in boredom and problems with no ease of use. SE G900 = 8.5/10 now and ever.

BE WARNED!!! This is the worst Sony Ericsson phone in the market. In my truthful opinion, Pls consider other SE phones. I bought this phone with a friend, his g900 refused to booth less than 2days after purchase and soon after I began to dread the prospects of mine lasting but I had the luxury of "6 months use" (which I think is poor compared to my previous k800i)after which I sent it for repairs to no avail. I thought it was the most balanced phone in terms of features when i bought it but sadly, all it boasts is "half baked". slow processor, worrisome touch screen, poor camera, etc. waste of hard earned money!!!

today i worked with the new sony ericsson phone"vivaz". now i like my g900 more. symbiam s60 5ed has several problems with java programs, since these phones do not have any keypad. u can not use any java dictionay or calculators with these phones. if g900 had a 2.6 inch screen and a faster cpu, it was the best phone in the market. even i compared camera of vivaz and g900. vivaz pics are not much better than g900. i dont know why SE wont make more phones based on uiq3? know i believe that full touch phones are not good! and best touch screen phones in the market are uiq3 phones.

I've had this phone for nearly two years! only phone to every last me more then 4 months. I've dropping in the bath (Twice), got drenched at dreamworld with it in my pocket, dropped it a million times and played soccor with it. The only problem I've ever had is every few months it'll freeze cause I never turn it off but some times it restarts for me. Easy to text, decent response time, good cam and easy to use plus it has a styles!! definitely a good phone . . . alright sorror ball cause the cover doesn't come off.

My phone Sony Ericsson G900 cant turn on after using the sony ericsson website update service, and now my phone was sent to repair but the repairer tel me he cant solve the problem and the program also didnt running, he say need to send my phone to the sony ericsson centre to be repair, i was so dissappointed for the sony ericsson centre. I bought one SE G900 about 5 months back. In March it started showing problem with touch screen and was also showing network problems. The phone used to go on "Emergency calls Only" and no incoming or outgoing calls were allowed . But for last one week the phone is searching for network and not able to conncet ...... DISGUSTING !!!! It was in the warranty period so I took it to the service station of SE and waiting for my phone to be repaired.. Overall the experience is not at all good...I wont recommend it to anyone...

i have used this phone more than one year. this phone is very good. i have wireless internet in home and i always use my phone to browse websites, its fun. i usually use wifi with my phone one hour every day. a very important point about this phone is its size and weight. althought this phone is touchscreen and has almost every option you need, its size is just like a regular phone. also its camera pics are nice. the only weekness of the phone is its speed when opening pdf files.

It's not a bad phone, but with its features it should have qwerty keyboard or bigger touchscreen - that would make working with excel files or typing an e-mail much easier. Otherwise I usually wait until i get a hold on my computer, these activities are highly inconvenient on this device. Biggest flaw - Symbian system which is ridiculously slow.

Biggest mistake i did was that I never read any Net review of this phone before buying. If I would have seen this page, i might have never bought this. Camera 5 MP is not even equivalent to 2 MP K 750I or W 800I ( My earlier phone, Classic phone must say ) Wifi is waste, 3G is not proper, battery charge last for may be 3 or 4 songs in full sound. My advice DONT EVEN THINK OF BUYING SE G 900i. instead buy a 30 dollor Nokia basic camera phone. You wil be much satisfied.

The display and also processor problems are highly common with the G900. This happened to mine after 4mths, then sent over 2 months being 'repaired' before they decided they could NOT repair it. It is a serious flaw with this model. I do believe it is has been pulled from the market - maybe because of these issues. Try searching for on in the EU on eBay and you won't find a single one.

the specifications and the features are good, but i think they are pretty much compressed that the system cannot handle anymore... so sad, i already got several issues with it just on the 2nd week of use and in fact, i had it first (take note, first repaired!)on the first month because it hangs a lot! i waited three weeks for the service center to repair it (sony ericsson SM North EDSA annex, to be particular) and it is tooooo annoying because i paid much for something that i was not able to utilize! and worse, the lcd went off after two months. so i brought the cp for repair again, and waited not only 3 weeks, but more than a month to get it again. but worst of all, the cp broke its processor down 2 months after 2nd repair. it literally took vacation at the service center for 4 months (it passed the holiday season in 2009, just got it in january this year). they ended up changing the whole unit but so sad, the unit they replaced it with is set for Singapore users. until now, i am having difficulties using it because the space and the # keys are not functioning properly. i can no longer send it for repair because they say that it is out of the 1yr warranty and they will charge me 5thousand pesos for repair. really, really bad choice. i am really disappointed

Man. This is One Helluva phone. Mind boggling features. Its the Battery which is a big dumbo for this genius. Instant viewing of Notepad, sms, scribbling feature in notepad, Tasking from any point in the phone through Task Manager, and many others, simply outa the world. You might not find in phones released even recently. In 2007-2008 they could think of everything which is happenning NOW. Just improve the speed, battery life, remove the dumbo keypad, add a couple of soft-keys under the screen, add a slider key pad hidden under the screen or improve the existing touchscreen to replace the key-pad, & I assure you nothing comes closer to this phone.

Itz been one and half year that I'm using this mobile. I almost never saw a sony erricson phone without a major functional issue. These are the functional issues that I faced over past one and half year 1) Slow, but not frustrating. 2) Pictures would be nice only in broad day light, any indoor pictures are worth garbage. 3) Some 'dumped file created' issues. 4) Automatically restarts as part of some automatic phone recovery (rare, but yes, it did happen) 5) Audio and charging sockets are one and the same; so, the phone developed a loose contact over time. 6) Touch screen developed an error which is minimum to the top left, and maximum at bottom right of the screen (You cant 'touch' anything on bottom right of the screen) 7) The phone normal speaker (not speakout) loudness faded off over time. 8) The black strips above and below the touch screen are black stickers which peel off making the phone vulnerable to my own sweat and grease while I talk. 9) Maximum of three 'alarms' can be added, manage the rest in 'calander' 10) Should keep in mind that the mobile is slow while using WLAN. Be careful, dont get frustrated. 11) The browser offered does not support Flash! 12) The phone rarely opens WMV files. It should either open, or not open, but what is this? It sometimes opens depending on its mood! 13) Always shows out of phone memory, but the phone always shows only 10 MB of phone memory is consumed, and my 2GB phone card is almost empty. 14) A snap from the camera sometimes has right half of the picture out of focus, and left half in focus. Ah! What a feature!! 15) I could not discover shortcut key to 'mark' a file using keypad. 16) Now after one and half year, the touch screen simply died! One good thing is that, the phone is so well engineered that, it survived the big bang the day before yesterday when I banged it to the ground with all the energy I have.

camera pics quality is good and almost same as k810 when the lens cover is clean. you nedd to clean the lens cover from both sides regulary. video recording is qvga which just enough. there are many phones that support vga video recording which is not much usefull since the viedo files will be very large.

i already solved it hehehe i studied it. 1more thing, the RAM is 128 MB then I installed Swiss Manager Elite to check the system, on Standby the remaining RAM is between 58 to 62MB only. do you have any idea on how to clear some RAM space? how much is the RAM space in your mobile at Standby? another question is the latest software still R6K842? i want to enhance a little speed on my phone because it lags sometimes and creates a report in Crash Logs like Freezes in some applications. thnx i have Swiss Manager and could manage to delete those logs bcoz it also eats same phone memory... tnx

hello e.a. what software enhancements have you installed on your phone? the fone is really great, i have no problem with it also. only little laggy but it is bearable i had also encountered the creation of "dump file" when running the "Storage Wizard" and sometimes when texting with the Music Player on... and i dont know if where in the system it save bcoz i think it might also eat some space in the phones memory or some place within the phone. the exception is all features works great on this phone.

G900 is not a good phone to buy. Reason is it has some processor problem so it lags like crazy eventually causing the phone to crash. The Touch pad sensitivity itself isn't that great due to the lag sometimes it takes when pressing a button on the screen to load.

This is the worst phone i ever used in my entire Sony life, first, it works like a charm, then few days later, i realised its a battery sucker (i dont even have 3G on), then the touchscreen starts acting weird, then suddenly all the buttons cant be pressed, i cant even pick up a damn call because the Call button is on the touchscreen side, then i tried various things(like calibrate the touchscreen, knocking it etc.) and the touchscreen went back to normal, then few days later, it acts back but even worse than before, i have been patient with the slooooowness of the phone, but i really cant stand it anymore with this little weeny useless phone, when i got the money this month, imma gonna change back to a trusty basic phone like i used before, like Nokia 5130, SE K770i, Nokia 6300 etc., so i strongly recommend, do not buy this heap of junk, the specs may be attractive, but dont be fooled, theres a saying "A wolf in sheep's clothing", so i conclude now, if you really gonna buy this phone, good luck then, adios!

click Menu>Settings>Display>Themes then choose among the default themes installed in the phone then press "Select". you can get G900 themes from the net just type "SE G900 free themes download"... hope that helps...

hey guys. you're all worrying about the G900 phone. nyway, just want to share my experience regarding SE G900 phone. actually its a great phone. base on my hands-on experience in using the phone: 1. first, i noticed that the battery drains quickly while using the phone with only the basic functions. --> i studied it and i deactivated the setting of mobile connectivity to GSM only [bcoz 3G must be switched on only if you will be doing video calling but for the sake of the battery life you can set GSM only]. --> another thing is the backlight [brightness] must be set from 20% to 30% only bcoz the brightness of the backlight consumes more power also. after doing it my phone's battery is not draining fast unlike during my first use. so guys you ry it... 2. i encountered slow connection when opening msgs but still bearable [still great phone]. that's the minimum problem that i have encounter in using G900. all other features are great and working enormously and satisfying... it just need patience and cleverness to know your phone well [functions and everything]. so guys hope you could get something from my idea... gudluck...

It hard to choose to say whether this phone is great or not. in a nut shell i can say that the phone has a great features but didn't live up to it full. the camera may be great in megapixel number, it just the software not that good. the battery should last pretty long, but maybe the phone eats up more. the phone is slow, and require a additional update. apart from this any other problems?

This phone got the worst quality, my part (right side) of my touch screen is malfunction. So i cannot end call most of the time after 3mths. Repaired & the problem came out again after few weeks time. The stylus pen got broken twice in 6mths time. The finishing quality was so bad, the dark sticker get peel off after 2mth of usage (ps. I'm a careful user) The OS was extremely slow on reading sms, openin photo, on camera, etc.. it hangs 40% of the time. I would not recommend this phone

Yes it has like i said. And yes it has the Youtube apps called 'Yourtube'. By the way, you can't watch and play youtube videos using Web. You must download a software called 'CorePlayer'. Then, go to m.youtube.com using Web then search any videos you like. Then, hold your finger on the 'Watch Video' for a secs then copy the link and paste it to CorePlayer. Then Walla, you can finally watch the videos. Sadly, it's the only way you can watch youtube on your phone. Because there is no Flash Player software available on G900 unlike Nokia.

I own G600 for two years. At the beginning I was very happy with my phone, but now it has started to malfunction. It restarts frequently, it hangs frequently, also its screen switches off frequently (i mean several times a day) and only way how to turn the screen on again is to take out the battery and put it back, because restarting button does not work then. Also the phone switches off by itself and sometimes it seems to be on, but person who is calling is being informed that my phone is out of coverage. I like Sony Ersiccson phones, but I will never ever buy smartphone from Sony Ericsson again.

Are you sure? Please do double check. Go to settings -> connectivity -> mobile networks, then press 'more' -> GSM/3G networks, then choose 'GSM only'. If this is not your problem. Please explain more.

Hey pal, i have a lil story for you. once upon a time, i charge my phone(g900) from 7-8.30 a.m. Before that the battery was like 20%. After that it is full 100% battery level. Then i leave my phone on my bed until 12.am. It's 98% battery level after. Then i used it on internet, facebook, myspace, gsmarena, downloading some themes, etc till 2 p.m. It's 88% then. So later after 2.30 p.m, i used it to watch my mp4 video, listening music+internet and ofcourse wifi is on until 4 p.m. So it's 75%. Then i used for ebuddy, i chat for a couple of hours+music+facebook+wifi(of course) until its 6.15 p.m, then i leave it awhile till 7, its 48%. Wifi is still on from 12 p.m, then i used it for internet+ebuddy+music and oh i forgot to mention opera mini till my dinner time around 9 p.m. It is 33% left. Then i used it for internet and music till 11.30 p.m. It is 19% left. Overall, i think it rocks. I don't know whats your battery problem dude. Remember to close the 3G use the GSM. Unless u didnt use wifi. So, thats my opinion.

Im sorry mister, but this phone are not for camera. It is actually for internet, business and games(maybe). You said file manager it sucks, well yeah it was. But you must deeply learn about this phone. It is not as bad as u think actually, this is one of the best phone in the world. Minus the camera. And ofcourse it sometimes lagg. Even the most expensive phones in the world can be lagg sometimes. About the file manager, i recommend you to download swissmanager or x-plore. That would be good.

1st of all,to all users,actually all of u must think that this is symbian fon,u must treat it like computer,virus can attack ur system, thats why ur fon restarting,hanging,jamming,rocking and bla....bla... update ur fon at least once a month, download pc suite from sonyericsson website for g900, install it, connect ur fon in file transfer mode, choose update from the pcsuite, follow instruction such as holdpress the C key until it instruct u to unhold... run antivirus when u connect ur fon to pc...avira free version quite ok,avg... for camera, clear the lens, then ok! but, in term of casing/body, s..ks!!plastic!!! overall 9/10

I just bought the SE G900, the first thing i noticed is the very poor battery performance, it doesnt even last a day under medium-heavy usage, i used it to listen to songs, it drains the battery very quickly, and im not pleased, after a second thought, maybe i should have gone for a another phone like the G705, im only using this primarily for listening songs, Wi-Fi etc, i will have to buy a new battery and test it out, will let you guys know if the battery performance improves (the phone that i bought is most likely a display set, so imma head off and buy a battery and test again)

Overall, I think this smartphone is still in the process of improving but it functions like it should and I will continue to use it with just a matter of getting used to it and protecting the phone's shell. click the connection manager at the upper lefthand corner of the screen (grey downwards arrowhead) and choose connection, WLan. when it open click more, enable , then when WiFi networks start to appear (provided you are somewhere where there are wirless networks) click the desired network and then "connect"

i had this phone for more than a year and a half, it was ok, till it started to have problems with the touchscreen. the touchscreen is wider than the corresponding press shown on the desktop, so i get a hell of a time trying to press on any of the touchscreen buttons specially those on the left. i tried pen calibration but no use. the camera is not bad in day light, but at night it's a disaster. i had a K800i and it's camera was 3.2 but gave much better pics than this phone's one. does anyone know how to fix the touchscreen error, other than update service, which is not available for this phone. i am afraid to get the SE Satio not to get into troubles with the touchscreen again!

I have just (About 1 month back) bought this phone cos I trusted Sony with all my heart & soul. But was disappointed how THEY could make such a phone. I mean, this is a very good phone with fantastic features, one could ask from a smart-phone. But there ARE some really nagging simple issues, which was not expected from the makers like Sony. My Hands-on Experience: Good features include instant access to Notes, Text msgs, File Manager. Internet downloading /browsing is very good. Cons: 1)System is very VERY slow. Tends to hang very often. Displays a message that it is restarting for better performance. (WOW,what an excuse. HUH!!) 2)Camera is just OK. Definitely not AS good as a 5 MP digi cam, as they claim. Zoom is excellent but no clarity in zoomed shots. 3)Simple features like call recording during a call is not available, which I did not check thinking it would be available, by default. 4)No option of "Mark Several" in the options of in Messages, Contacts, Media Files (Pics, Songs, VDOs,) etc. Only "Mark All" & "Unmark All". Each file has to be marked separately to delete or move or copy. 5)Cannot add songs from the File Manager to playlists. No option in Playlists either to "Add Media" from memory. Should select each & every song separately to the playlists. 7)Handwriting recognition does not do it as fast as we write. only 1 letter at a time, which takes ages to complete a simple SMS or notes. A BIG "NO THANKS" for this feature, at this speed. We are better off keying-in the message. 7)Battery: is very VERY unlike a Sony-Ericsson. Does not last even for a day. I have used a Sony walkman phone before this. Comparing same usage pattern, battery life is better in that than in this. Does not have Optimized charging facility like other models. Maybe because of the touchscreen option. But who needs a touchscreen without proper backup? Does not show "Fully Charged" Status after complete charge. 8)You cant choose your own Message Tone.

Gentelmen, I am really impressed with the features of SE G900 . I have never used any business phone earlier. my earlier one is SE K 750i. Now I wish to buy this product. But with the user review and market survey along with discussion of some technical experts on mobile I understand this product has some issues with its camera / browsing. The product hangs a lot. Oh My GAWD. This phone has TONS of features. Just what we need. But there are as many -ve features too. Some most important features left out for a Hi-END phone as this are: 1) Camera picture quality is NO GOOD, for 5MP camera. (Preview says Cybershot?? No WAY) 2) No Call recording Facility during a call.. 3) Processor way too slow for a stuff from SONY stable. 4) After the battery is full after charging, charge-full does not show. 4)It lacks major functionality of a Mobile from 5ony-Ericsson. Needs a major over-haul.

Open messaging are very slow, sometimes freeze, web browser sometimes stuck, and the most sad thing is, the music sound is really really bad if it is volume, eventhough your music quality is 10mb or higher it doesnt help. I have use G900 since it was launch till now. From my opinion, this phone is an above average business class phone. this is how i use my phone: 1.at nite, i fully charge it. then i unplug it and bring it to bed and connect to wifi & watch youtube till i sleep ( approx. 30 minutes, i will fall asleep). 2.wake up in the morning about 8am and go to work. my phone will connect to my SE HDH DS205 stereo headset. they stay connected all the time. 3.my phone call is very heavy. I drive alot. i always travel and talk while i am driving. everyday, i have plenty of call from my office and my clients. This phone is have the stamina. no doubt on the talk time. i go to work from 9am till i reach home about 9pm after dinner, my phone and my bluetooth device still alive with atleast 50%-60% battery and i can still listen to mp3 for the nite if i'm bored. This dun have fancy UI. IT have been the best Symbian UIQ. Who will need this phone? 1. people who travel alot, drive alot (a good 1 hand device phone) heavy talktime, bluetooth headset connect all the time( i dun use the phone to talk. only headset), 8GB of storage to keep all my important excel and word file all the time, WiFi to be able to connect to internet at any WIFI spot for free surfing & the best part is, it can watch flash video like youtube. in the market, there is so many phone that can do all the task but how many that can really last that long of hour? unpopular people that hardly receive much call or hardly talk more that 15min thru phone per day wont be desperate for the battery stamina. Call history can keep 1 month call record. msg/email unlimited. nokia e71 can only keep 20 call history. the price you pay for this phone worth more than any that i can find. it worth the money if u wan a dependable phone which wont let u down or miss any important call anytime, anyplace, walking, driving, or both hand doing something, 8am-8pm of heavy usage, with bluetooth on all the time, Get this device. 1 full charge, 1 full day of heavy usage. i am using this phone for 7 months this phone sucks!!! for 1st 3 months all was ok but after sometime the screen won't work.Igot it to SC where i hav the worst experience of my life. SC returned my fone after 1&half month and i noticed that the speakerphone is not at is max.Call vol died barely i can hear. All other spec are good accept the hardware inside. Definitely not a good choice for Sony Ericsson models. This is my 8th SE phone but its the worsiest, had it for 7 months now and it suddenly restarts and no longer working for now. Its DEAD!! Need to see SESC first to have it check. No auto update capabilities like othe SE phone, MMS is not as easy as using this feature with other SE phone. So far, Im now back to using my old K800i which is still the best one I got. If you buy a new SE phone try another model but not this G900.

i dont use equalizer for this phone. the sound quality it self is good.but for setting equalizer go to media center on the main menu. then go to music. when playing a music go to "more" menu then to "setting" menu. there u can find equalizer. also if the camera lens cover is clean, the phone built in camera pics are nice. be sure of your lens cover quality and clean it regulary, both sides.

I have used this phone almost 2 years, it has a problem with the touch screen. If the touch screen is not working then you cannot pick up any calls, cuz the pick up button is on the screen, so i need to drop my phone hardly on my bed or hit the phone with my hands to make it work. This phone is useless. Althou find it very attractive when buying time, its not worth the money at all. My problem at first was the headphone with very slow speakers.I could not hear the caller at all unless i use headset. After awhile the sensor of the screen just tilted to a different angle.i have to press to futher right of the option button itself. Phone will have no coverage all of sudden. After awhile, the screen only work in the middle. Could not select option on either side of the screen. Now, the software itslef hang.I dunno what its doing but just hang.Even i restart or load up a new software is the same. Now i have dumbed it. This phone was the worst ever SE production.

Well, i have it since july 2009. At the beginning i had no problem at all. Until then i was satisfy with this phone. But since 2-3 weeks, there is always somethings bugging. 1-Sometimes i get no signal for hours even if i restart the phone over and over. 2-Sometimes, the camera just freeze and i have to restart the phone. 3-On some occasions i was talking with someone and the signal went dead. It never happened with my others phones (moto C370, V551 and K1). 4-Now, sending pics and videos through MMS is a pain in the lower back (to be polite). Each times i do this operation, the phone kinda freeze for 10-20 secondes. I have contacted the sony ericsson technical services through out email. Each times they answer back telling me to do an update. Yeah, yeah, i wish i could, but the're is no update available anywhere on their website !! Now i understand why this model didn't last too long on the market ! I wish my comments will help you make a decision. Regards,

First time I used this phone I loved it. I always used Sony ercsson, but when I got G900 I really got disapointed. This phone has som many problems, that I will never buy Sony Ericsson again. First of all, it is very slow. By the time I type a text, I can finish eatting my funch. Second of all, my scrin keeps turning off, and turning black. I have to restart my phone every 5 min. Please don't buy this phone, if you do you will just waste your money.

I've had this phone almost a year, and after about 5 months of owning it, it keeps dropping calls like crazy. It lasts about a minute, then it dissconnects, after this happens the phone wont connect anymore. sometimes the connection just drops so bad i cant even send text. I know its not the provider i have because my friends have the same one and their phone is fine. Anyone have any ideas what it might be or how i can fix it? it would be greatly appreciated. There is problem with this type of phone. Bought phone last year Oct 2008, dropped it once but did not anticipate what happened later as I�ve used other phones that dropped several times but didn�t give problems. i have this phone 8 months ago. i bought it for 260$ and it is now only 190$. the price of the phone is really good for its capabilities. i didnt have any serious problem with my phone. my phone doesnt hang. it only sometimes when connected with its cable to computer hangs. The camera quality is good if the lens cover is clean. The wifi is good. The battery lasts after 3 days of regular work. There are several applications for this phone. The on screen keyboard is very useful and nice. The notes are very good.

I got this as a replacement for the X1 (yes!) because WinMo was so foul. It screwed up a perfectly good phone. In contrast, I'm much happier with the G900. Okay, so the screen isn't as nice in terms of resolution and touch. Aside from that, it is WAY more responsive and it's fairly easy to do everything I need. Make calls (of course), work with notes, media, contacts, etc. My only complaints is that it is a bit too many steps needed to activate the WiFi It works and it works well for the target market. It's not iPhone, but neither was it meant to be. If you want a "basic" smartphone, this is a good choice. Easy to use and has WiFi, Bluetooh, mobile Office, easy to use contacts, notes, etc.

Someone here was complaining that the phone does not ring alarms when is of, it is symbian the system must work to do that, does your PC rings when it is shut down? Camera is not poor but if you are a left handed you will have a lot of fingerprints on it, CLEAN it first. the picture are perfect for a phone with a camera if know how to take pictures. it is phone not a professional photo camera the touchscreen is awesome (run calibration first), and take good care of it, put a protection on it and update the phone software before use wifi is average, of course it depends on signal strength. battery last 2 days at first, running all kind of applications, 24h/day, in time it will last longer. it is not a regular phone hat can be dropped smashed and god knows what, it also depends how you use and take of it

1. My overall experience with the phone is it is slow. 2.5MP cam is not good. I was able to take pretty decent pic with my SE W800i 3.After reading a msg and when I press the return key, it refresh the whole inbox which inturn makes the phone slow. 4. Within 2 months of my purchase my display went to a terrible state. It started to display with high contrast and became dark. Then touch did not respond properly. After giving for service it is running fine now.

I got my SE G900 last March, and I put it under testing for a loong time. this phone really disappointed me: 1- Poor sound 2- Poor Camera (even with the 5 MP resolution, you get poor photos - not crisp - a lot of noise around details) 3- Slow responses all over apps and even menu items 4- below average WiFi recieption. 5- Don't get me started on the touch screen!! 6- after only 6 months, voice clarity/volume/quality, started serious detorioration. I can hardly hear what callers say. 7-and the WORST, I mean WORST thing about this phone is the build. it is VERY weak and fragile. I got the ear piece plastic cover fallen down after glue weakend on a hot day!!!! I'm getting a new phone that's for sure

G900 is great smartphone!!!...only if u knw how to use it. the first time i buy it, got few problems occur such as my M2 2GB memory corrupted after taking picture with it, touchscreen went wrong after install the selected g900 themes.... BUT after read for more information on this website about S.E UPDATE SERVICE, my G900 seems to run more smooth & less hang like it first time i buy it. I'am happy to use G900 with it 5.0 megapixel camera (but not good in taking picture at night or dark place) & WLAN accept this model seems to use the old processor...kind slow when open up programs... Mine works fine. It doesn't hang. Sound quality is excellent. I can play youtube through wifi. It can play avi/divx/avix.You can download a lot of usefull applications once it gets hacked. Bad thing about this phone is it takes like a minute to turn it on. Pictures that have been taken at night don't seem to be a 5pm quality picture, maybe it's the lens or the flash, i don't know. I can live with it coz i dont take pictures at night. hehe

They ended up sending me a brand new phone which stopped working in October and now they ar saying the 'new' phone they sent me had a warranty that expired in July. My advise to G900 owners: after you purchased the phone you must master reset the device... most of the problems would be gone! i had problems with camera and messaging and auto restarts.. but after master reset its fixed now! try it..

been a week now with this phone and i can say the following: - restarts by itself - once the battery died so i plugged the charger and i started the phone only to say that the folder is corrupt and i lost the info. - the only 2 tracks that i saved on the phone were suddenly deleted automatically - slow processor - No! can't open youtube - tested the battery under normal and below normal usage and gave me 44 hours (less than 2 days) - touch focus never worked for me so far

Go to SE website, select g900 and then go to "Support -> Update your product software" and download Update Service application. The latest firmware is R9N002. To check your firmware version go to Main Menu->More->System Information.

Screen darkening and restarts are symptoms of a common hardware problem. Some say there's a loose connection between lcd and mainboard. Replacing the lcd screen will fix the problem.

The phone is laggy. but once u get a firmware update there is a drastic performance increase and no hangs! As the phone is based on UIQ platform its customizing is endless. The phone performs well after the upgrade and there is also a posibility of running Windows 3.11 on this phone. have you ever updated your software before??? the problems you have, they are all the problems I had the first time I bought the phone... after I updated the software regularly, which is only about once every 2 months, none of the problem persists... and the stylus, my first one also broke a long time ago, and now I'm using the spare one that they gave me, and I've been using it more frequently as compared to the first one... how is the media player jinxed???? Here are the problems I faced with my 3-month old G900: -Very slow. Lot of lag -No Accelerometer! -No profiles -Audio Player is jinxed -Outdated software -Exitting applications hasto be done via Task Manager > End. Always. You open and application once, it only gets minised and runs in the background. Besides these, I faced these problems as well: -Display goes dim/dark abruptly -The phone constantly restarts stating 'Your phone was restarted to improve performance'. This happens everytime, as in it restart loops! So frustrating! -Faulty touchscreen! Does not caliberate well. -The stylus broke with minimal usage. I use it only for 15-20 mnts a day for 3 days in a week. I am with SE for the last 6 years! I think that this has been the worst SE phone ever! Thank God that is has been discontinued! I am more than just disappointed with this SE product! People who continue to have this phone...God save 'em!

Guys, this phone is really frustrating! I also encountered the same problem with its touch screen that goes dim, dark colors, freezes etc...I bought my phone brand new for more than a year now. LCD replacement is also required...I hope that SE R&D should act on this because this model has this very common LCD problem now!

I have had this phone for two months, and I think it is still the best phone available. According to its abilities it is ahead of all others. It has everything that is important. I don't see any other phone (except for G700) that has sticky notes that I use all the time. Also there very few phones that can edit Office documents. So it is not a toy with many unnecessary fency gadgets. The camera is excellent. With its Symbian there is so much software that you can add as well. I put in many PDF books, (even some big ones, 30MB), any you can have all your litherature with you all the time. Let alone the applications in Excel that you can use always. To me it seems perfect choice for an engineer. I installed a few calculators so I don't need computer at all. With its 13mm of thickness it is still the smallest phone with such abilities.

I have used this phone for six months and I had no problems. The phone capabilities are really interesting and its price is only 200$ now. I really enjoy the camera pics, wifi. Furthermore there are many software for UIQ3 which can extend your phone abilities. I don�t know why SE wants to stop making phones based on UIQ3.

um what to say about this phone...well i'm kinda disappointing with sony... ive had this phone for about 9 months..at first it was quite good, the battery life was good (not as long as they say but good). The camera to me was pretty good, i found it took good pictures. The speakers are very good. But the biggest problem is the touch screen. At first it was very good, but a couple of months ago it started giving me problems, i would touch the bottom left part of the screen and it wouldn't respond. Now this is a big problem because i cannot answer my phone or save anything because that part of the screen doesn't respond. In order for me to answer my phone i have to have the headset in. I was told to go to the settings and calibrate the phone, but i can't do that because in order for me to open the calibration menu i have to press the bottom left corner of the screen. It is very frustrating and im very disappointed with sony.And what makes it worse is, there is no button that can substitute for the bottom left part of the screen. I dont know if this is a problem with all of the g900's or all touchscreen phones in general but i am not pleased with it

Friends, don't buy this phone. I brought this phone 28-12-08. I used only two months after that screen getting dim and restarting by itself in every two minutes. I went to servicing center they solved this problem and they suggested me to changed battery coz it is not original I realized the retail shop cheated me and I didn't change the battery I used again two months and gave me same problem. I just given to the servicing center again now I will change battery and use it. I guess sure the problem will come again. pls don't go for this mobile. You will be in in trouble and will get upset 100%. before you buy check if anybody used more than 6 months without any problem then go for it.

very poor battery(even with 3g disabled), very bad phone grip, poor menu, if u want to unblock the phone you have to press a key then press on display, if you want to end a call or pick a call, you don't have a specific button, u have to press the display. sometimes is freezing, poor menu. the camera is not very good, the screen is very scratchable. if the clarity of camera pics is not good the lens cover should be cleaned or changed. the quality of the lens cover in this phone is not good. i had the same problem. when i removed the back part of the body, the quality of camera pics become much much better. i cleaned the lens cover and now the camera pics are nice

To other users who faced lotsa problems, you might, - Bought a recon set. - not upgrading your firmware for stability - Bad luck maybe? Yes it's Sony Ericsson HGE-100 GPS Enabler. It costs about 45 EUR. But I suppose that navigation will be slow due to the old & slow CPU at 208Mhz. About Youtube, you can download a cracked version of CorePlayer v1.35.7340. Coreplayer is by far the best media player for UIQ3 and it has Built-In YouTube Support. To get the best video quality, go to Tools->Settings->More->Channels and select FLV (medium quality). Much better quality than m.youtube.com (3gp)

I've been an SE user since 2002. However, I'm disappointed with this unit. I've had mine for 6 mos now, and yes, there's loads of lagging and hanging. Also, I've just had it repaired- touchscreen problems and had to wait for a month for the shop to order. Costs $30, w/c is cheaper than ordering from SE, w/c takes at least a month and twice as much. Boo! Also, I've broken the stylus in half, and that was just a month ago. Although the features are great- Wi-Fi, 5MP Camera, sounds, and great price @ $295, but with the short span that I've owned it (my other SE models last me about 1.5-2 yrs) and how it has cost me ($30 repair and $36 for a temporary cheap fone), then I wouldn't recommend it. I'm thinking of switching to Nokia or Samsung touch screen phones.

For some of you who encounter lag/ hanging on this phone make sure you do not have any viruses on your phone. Don't assume something yet. It is slow because it has an old software so deal with it. Yes, I have a problem too before about the flash, why i it not flashing? Close your image stabilizer that's it. Other 5MP phone has better resolution. 5MP is Still 5MP yested g900 and c902 they have the same outcome. G series is a General Web phone so this is the best phone browsing internet. I recommend this phone since I am using this for almost a year and this is perfect for employee/ businessmen and college student.

This phone is not worth your money. I have had this phone for less than 6 months and most of it is already worn out and broken. The stylus broke, the plastic on the front of the phone is tearing off from both sides, its very slow, lots of freezing. It turns off when it is not being used, the screen goes black and resets itself. MANY MANY PROBELMS - it also feels very cheap. the keys are hard to type with.

Did you choose transfer file when you connected you phone to pc?! if so.. choose phone mode instead of file transfer so all drivers will install to your pc. If still have problems you better go to forum of gsmarena there are lots of topic and support. :D

I don't think your being fair as there are lots of Sony Ericsson phone that is good or i must say much better than nokia. For SE lovers this phone is more of a business phone so if you want a faster phone better choose another model. This phone is slow and sometimes hangs up but for my business demands this phone can keep up. That is why i also love this phone.

If you can't use the flash. Make sure you disable the "image stabilizer" and you are not in the "sports scenes"�. The flash won't work if you are using one of these two options. Hope it will help.

I had a G900 Made in China, now I get rid of it, it was really slow and always hanged.It was the wrst phone i have ever had.just good features on the paper but you can not use them. Now I have bought a Nokia N95 8GB.

It is difficult to escape the 'china syndrome' and the g900 manual is only 20% useful. You either have to print the manual from sony ericsson's website or refer there when you have a problem. I guess sony ericsson is going paperless soon. They can at least give a manual cd. They may be cutting cost too at the expense of consumers product education.

In camera mode..press # to activate flash menu. If its doesnt works, try reflashing the firmware. Still not working? send it for repair and pray for it.

i had a problem in my SE G900. it took thrice for me to let it be repaired in SE STORE in our country. the unit was still under its warranty then. the problem is, it STICKS/HANGS. the touch screen didn't work. it was barely 3 months upon purchase when the problem occurred. hope it doesn't recur anymore specially when it's no longer under its warranty period which expires in December 2009. is it possible that the unit will be replaced instead of be repaired? please help! thank you in advance.

I use SE G900 for almost 3 month,this phone have some weakness: 1. We CAN'T use animated wallpaper 2. The internet connection is unstable. i don't know which one that wrong, the phone or the connection setting, sometimes it works and the other time it isn't 3. The only way to close application is using Task Manager, there is no button that can directly close the application and Strength: 1. I never had problem using it's Wi-Fi feature 2. The camera is very good 3. The design and interface is very cool

despite the many negative comments on here i quite like this phone. i've had this phone for about a year now and after 6 months i accidently dropped it outside in the pouring rain and by the time i got back to it was flooded with water as the batter and back cover fell off. Luckily everything still works fine, same performance rate as before. however recently, just before i hit one year with it, i had a problem with not receiving text msgs but that was all solved after i updated the software. overall i'm quite satisfied with this phone.

For the last 6 years, i had motorola phone (C370, V551, K1) and i thought it would be difficult to switch for another brand, but i found it quite friendly user. I guess, if you want your G900 to work properly, you have to do all the updates from SE website (wich i did).

well, i've been using sony ericsson and nokia for quite some time now. i'm using G900 and i'm not encountering any problem about it..the key is to adjust the settings. this is quite difficult for those who just switched to sony ericsson though..classy and balanced than nokia especially the quality of the pictures and display :)

Worst phone I ever had. Wasted $500 on this shit last year when it came out, and it started crashing only a few months I bought it. Slow and laggy phone. Flash is delayed when a pic is captured so the flash is useless, but I think an update fixed that.. but my phone was already broken by then.

Dear Steve, the best solution is to sell it or put in the trash, realy!! I am not joking. I even installed the software two times from the SE web site. this model G900 seems is the worst SE phone. I think the processor and software do not match. so you will see always it hangs and it is very slow.

Yes it supports all uiq3 applications. I've installed over 100 apps on my g900 and i've bought Swiss Manager Elite, X-Key, Slovoed and NiceCalc3. They are all working fine. Only a few uiq3 games won't work [made for qwerty versions (m600,p990,p1)].

Freezes a lot and response is slow. Other than that quite a good phone. Camera quality not even that bad as some people say. Obviously not better than cyber-shot phones, but good for a buissness phone. Battery backup is terrible. Its mentioned 12 hrs talktime. Practically its hardly 4 hrs at a stretch. Stand-by time is just 1 day with the phone on flight mode all day long. Overall its a good phone, i m happy with it.

my god...this G900's camera sucks... it's terrible people... if u use it with flash, ur skin looks like yellow...if u don't use the flash then u'll see how poor the quality is. for a 5mp camera it's really TERRIBLE. before i used this phone, i had a N73. 3.2mp camera. ALOT better than G900 i tell you...i'm gonna switch to e66 or Nokia 6260 slide. i find that Nokia camera's are way clearer and nicer than Sony Ericsson. for example. if a SE phone has 5mp camera? then compared to Nokia, that's just 2mp. okay..but other than the G900 camera..the rest is good.

Hehe, I bought it... Works fine for me.. Since it is a business class phone, gaming on it is kinda laggy.. But it is acceptable... Wifi works well. I use Wifi + eBuddy, my G900 can even sign in MSN without charging any fee from network provider. Handwriting recognization feature is great, it fasten the entering of Chinese words and quite accurate... Cheap price with bunches of functions.. Yeah...

Really unappreciated. Just look at its features like 5MP camera and OS, Office , ... then check the price. You will get your answer. The camera is Nice. Needs some experience to work with but once you can handle it, it will rock! Hybrid navigation (Keypad and Touchscreen) is a great feature. I have bought mine several months ago and no problem with it.

I've had this phone for about 8 months now and I'm very happy with its performance (so far). Although it can get a little laggy, it's fine once rebooted. It has frozen on me a few times (maybe about 3), but once again this problem can be fixed by rebooting. The camera quality is actually pretty good, in the right light. The touchscreen is very responsive and i have never had problems with it. It's very easy to navigate through the features etc. Sound quality is really good, that's with and without the headset provided. I really can't complain and am very happy with my purchase. However.... the themes could be better...

Though the phone is loaded with features and functions, the stability and reliability are way below expectations. My phone is only 6 months old and since I've upgraded its SW to the latest release from SE web site, the phone keeps on crashing and restarting on its own. Each time it crashes, I have to remove the battery and start it again and usually it doesn't work from first time. In addition, the phone is too slow and the display keeps fading out and darkens while the resolution decreases. Also, when I made a backaup of my phone before upgrading its SW, the restore of this backup failed and I lost all my data. SE support are so bad and each time I sent the phone for repair it was not fixed and it seems they only re-installed it SW while probably the problem is with the firmware or hardware.

Hi, Nobody is offering Document Editor at this price. I guess this feature alone outclass all other phone of the same range. I am using this phone from last seven months and I didnot face any critical issue yet. Camera is good, Wifi works perfectly, sound quality is good...what else we can ask for. At the end we have to remember that we are using a man-made machine which can breakdown anytime.

g900 isn`t really that good. i dropped it like 3-4 times and the camera just got loose. It's not really working that well anymore and it hasn't even been a year yet. It's actually kinda laggy too, but touchscreen is much better than regular phones.

Hi, do not buy this phone, GO for Nokia Express music, I have G900 for about two and half months, it is extreemely slow, some times shut down and some tiomes it hangs. the camera is awful, th epicture quality is worse than my previous nokia 6230 with 1.3 mp camera. I am just thinking of the cost that i have paid and thinking about how to sell it!! because i can not lie to the buyers of my phone the reason that i am selling it. it has many good features but due to the low speed you can not use them, furthermore the camera is too weak and 5 MP is just a kidding from SE. when you get the film with its camera it stops while getting the film and you are not sure it continues or has stopped. I have this phone for almost a year now. 1st i like that this is not so flashy to the eye, you would consider this just a ordinary phone. But its packed with features. I do experience the slowness of the phone, but you have to system update this to be bit faster. It can handle 4Gb mem, no problem with that. 5.0mp Cam is better than 1.3mps. but its having difficulty with night. Have to adjust the settings. Loud speak works great also. louder than the music express of nokia, me and a friend tested it she has the nokia and with same music mine is louder. Navigation is also easy. Touch screen is a bliss. I've used various touch screen phones and i think this is the best. It response perfectly to each press. The down fall that i could think is that not all of the features can be navigated by the keys. alot of the features can be activated/run by touch screen. -if in any case the touch screen would be broken, you can't access some features.

Features is generally good: 5MP camera with flash, IMAP/POP email, Blackberry & Wifi, eventhough there is no GPS. But speed is very bad, it is too slow to open contact, messaging & other apps freshly. Antenna is indeed weak, compared to my Nokia 6233. Personally for me, the touch screen overcomes SE unpleasant UI ( I was Nokia user). For map application, I use Google Maps for its cell-based location and WayFinder Earth (not Navigator) for offline map.

Hi All, Saw many reviews about this phone. I think i can add a few points here. Firstly about the slow interface- People i recommend u all connect to SE Update manager and update the phone software. As soon as i bought the phone in my India stores i felt the phone being slower. But my friend told about the update. And after that its pretty cool. The comment about the battery life being low. I'm against it. I access internet thro' wifi in my office all-day almost. Do lot of talking. Hear music on my travel to my place. Still It serves me for one and half days after a full charge. Next the camera- Yes. I'd say this is not from the stables of cybershot. I'd a K790i & it shoots pretty decent pics than G900, though the latter has a 5MP cam. Rest is good. I feel that the presence of a dual flash would have been gud. Having a xenon flash & led flash light would have been a great advantage to the cam. The office suite is pretty cool. I can use to create, edit and send the files over internet.The pdf reader is also pretty awesome. The messaging section is pretty nice i'd say. I've blackberry enabled thro' my service provider. I've all my mails delivered in my phone, so there is no way i'm out of reach. The music in this phone really rocks. Haven't found a good one since my w800i & w700i. I really like the built-in FM with RDS as well. The touch in this phone is really gud. If u've pretty big fingers the stylus is already there for ur aid. Its really awesome. Regarding not able to save files directly recieved from Bluetooth- I disagree wiht this. I transfer a lot of files thro' bluetooth at office & its breeze as usual. For " i can not delete files on my standby applications which consumed 90% of my phone memory..." - U've not used the task manager feature in the phone. Just end whatever application u r running at a touch. Also read the user manual before getting started. Finally about the cost- I bought mine for 20100 INR. I'd say its worth the money i spent on a new year day!

All china phones really suck and never ever buy a phone be it branded NOKIA, SE, SAMSUNG or MOTOROLA as long as it is made in china then it will not be good. Guys...I am using this phone from last 10 months. Believe me...I am very happy with this phone. Features...WiFi...Camera...everything is just superb. It fell off couple of times, but nothing happened except few scratches on the body. It's a very good deal with reasonable price.

i dono y ppl disliked dis phone so much...i hav dis phone 4m last 6 months almost n trust me..um more dan happy wid it...it z fast enuf.d camera opens in 2 sec..n evry important thng z availble on d screen..touch feature rocks n it has ample f phone memory..i hav 32 applications in ma phone n my phone is really fast..i will recommend it for sure..n abt d camera..d quality is really nice..but in night its difficult 2 get good pic in low light..my g900 rocks...

this is really a disaster having this phone... there's no feature that automatically saves received files from bluetooth directly to the memory card..and i can not delete files on my standby applications which consumed 90% of my phone memory...you cannot play streaming videos(from youtube a& other sites)..pictures taken are bad quality... i regret having my first SE phone.. its a waste of money.. don't buy this phone...

i think some people are very unfair. first i have to tell you it is unfair to compare a mobile phone with a real digital camera. you have to compare mobile phone pictures with other mobile phone pictures. although g900 pictures are not as good as k850, but its pictures are very good. in the "esato" website g900 is compared with nokia 6500 slide. the quality of these phones are almost same. according to the g900 specs and its price, i think this phone is a very smart choice. i have used this phone for 3 months and i recommend it.

i have tested k800, k550 and k750. g900 pictures are much better than k550 and even better than k750. the picture quality is as good as k800 which is a true 3.2 mega pixel camera phone. in the "esato" website g900 pictures are compared with nokia 6500 slide. i have used g900 for 3 months. it is a very nice phone.

I want to confirm the idea that the Camera is not 5 MP, Its now 2 months that i have this phone , it is the worst phone I have had ever, very slow, always hangs and stop whenever you need it. SE shall explain how they have produced such bad phone or at least appologize the custiomers and change it to other models. the features are very nice just on the specification paper and not in the phone, noene of them works fine. I strongly do not recommend G900.

Are you sure?! I own a SE G900 and the camera's quality is good as it is. you can actually see the difference between a 5MP to 1.3MP, may you bought a China made phone. You can check other forum or on GSMARENA's forum none of them complain about the quality of G900. Better buy an Original G900 not pirated!

Used this for one year, traded in for a Nokia 5630. That's my first ever Nokia after 7 years with SE! Gave up because the battery life is really bad for moderate calling and music. Camera quality is not good. Dust is gathered under the screen. Phone gets hot after talking for a few minutes (and battery runs down too) Wireless doesn't work most of the time. Browser doesn't render many webpages. Software (UIQ) still slow after many upgrades. Media Manager software is flakey. Fastport stops connecting satisfactorily. Plastic casing breaks.
