Apple iPad Pro 12.9 (2015) - User Reviews

  • Yep, completely on 60 fps, no stutters. Swift playgrounds is designed for the 12.9 inch iPad Pro when iOS 10 was released, giving the iPad Pro 12.9 inch first the swift playgrounds app, then later the 9.7 inch.

  • Will the ipad pro 2015 work on SWIFT?

  • No there is no calling facilities in all model of ipad

  • Calling feature is available or not in this iphone

  • I got an iPad Pro because I wanted a good graphics base for my art. So I bought photoshop elements 15. Couldn't figure out how to download it and called Adobe. Took an hour of waiting on the phone waiting for them to answer. I hung up. Sent a text. Got one back today saying iPad Pro will not run PS elements 15. Whaaaaa! $1000+ And it won't run PS. Bummer.

  • I got my iPad Pro 12.9 for £400

  • The iPad pro is a total con. Almost £1000!!!!

  • i think this iPad has a good battery for its size i would love it and it has a good screen resoultion

  • It seems that the 2nd gen 12.9 inch ipad pro might be delayed until the fall of this year. But it might release on time in the spring of this year still. Got my money ready to buy this ipad since my 9.7 inch ipad pro is too small for me now. Any current 12.9 inch ipad pro users know if google maps is optimized for the 12.9 inch ipad pro or not since the last time I tried google maps on the big ipad pro the app was very fuzzy and unoptimized for the larger screen?

  • Great for use

  • The October 27 event has passed but apple didn't announce any new ipads, so the next time we will see updates to the ipad mini 4, pro 9.7 and the pro 12.9 is probably in the spring of 2017.

  • Looks like the 2nd gen 12.9 inch ipad pro won't come out until spring 2017 instead of this year as I previously thought. I guess we will have to see what apple will reveal at their October 27 event. Gonna buy the 2nd gen 12.9 inch ipad pro as my 9.7 inch ipad pro feels too small now.

  • Is it really good

  • as they say it....is the RAM truly 4gigs of it???

  • I love my iPad Pro. The latest update, however, messed up my iBooks display. Now instead of having a 2-page display, which makes for easier reading, there is only 1 page displayed across the entire screen. I am old enough to know that sometimes changes are made just for the sake of making the change, and not because it is needed. This latest change is going to make a tremendous difference in the amount of time I spend reading from iBooks. And I love to read. My question: if something is working properly, why change it?

  • Whatsapp does not work on ipads. I think you can use Whatsapp Web using the browser on your ipad but there is no Whatsapp on the apple app store if you are using the ipad.

  • Can you install whatsapp since you have cellular model?

  • The 12.9 inch and 9.7 inch versions of the iPad Pro have 32,128,and 256GB internal storage How come you only write 32 and 128GB?

  • I've got one and I love it. I've got the first generation (this one), 12.9 inches, with 128GB, Wi-Fi and cellular model. And each new model keeps getting better with the specs and features.

  • Today I'm Going to Buy a Ipad Pro .>

  • sounds like a black mailing comment that is not even true. You dropped your tablet, and also the sound speaker is not working? No manufacturers guarantees customers dropping the device and working NOBODY. if you have an issue with your tablet apple will gladly fix or replace under their warranty. Customer negligence. or your just making things up to make apple sound bad.

  • Lets be real; the microphone issue on your iphone is a fault any manufacturer can have and would easily have been (likley still) able to be covered by warranty. With regards to dropping a 700gram tablet,.. of course it could break. Watch the gorilla glass five videos and see how they have to land the screens to survive a high fall 'most of the time'... Even tough glass can break. Apple uses tough glass. Yes, you dropped it, and 'yes' I feel for you; but it wasn't intentional sabotage by Apple..

  • Product physically broke in first week. It is built to eggshell standards that do not live up to ordinary usage. The slightest drop caused the glass to crack. Design this poor is not offset by style points. If it breaks within a week, it is a $1000 piece of junk. Apple‘s predatory policy is to characterize its design flaw as an “accident” outside of its warranty. The prior product I bought from Apple, an Iphone 6 also failed within two months, when the microphone stopped working. I will be glad when its two year contract expires so I can replace it. I will never buy another Apple product. They do not design product for the real world. They do not stand behind their product. They use the failures of their poor design as an opportunity to pick the pockets of their customers.

  • My understanding is the Metal API (Application programing interface) makes excellent use of the hardware, and it is either that, or some other software process that renders apps to the screen at native resolution. Not sure when it came about.. i think it was ios8 (maybe 7),.. that they realised that they were not going to have only three or four resolutions across all their hardware platforms and they would need a dynamic way to handle things going forward. So, an answer: Yes. For modern software, everything should be pixel sharp (not interpolated scaling), and should render to the screen in native resolution (anything written for the last few iOSs') With regards to whether the interface will suit a huge screen... This IS something that I have seen most software update to make use of. (I regularly read what is fixed/amended/added through incremental version changes),.. and the last nine months or so,.. more and more software has added native/direct iPAD 12.9 support and/or Pencil support.) All first gen stuff has holes to iron out, that 'second gen' software can fix. I have seen a few art packages refine their pencil support to allow the user to change the threshold for 100% pencil input. Which is awesome cause there was no way I was going to ever consistantly push THAT HARD to hit 100%. It is definately getting better and iOS 10 is adding more Eg three column email view which makes the software as good as old Microsoft Outlook (desktop PC mail software) for email viewing and managing. (And given the present state of Windows Mail, and M$ nasty forcing of people to outlook (online) mail.. I would avoid it like the plague)(based on experience of most servicing at the moment from me is to rectify mail server details because MS, having given many telcos and corporations free email server access have revoked it in an effort to get users to jump ship to MS product- it is a horrendous mess, thankyou Microsoft; you've done it again!!) Jokes aside... iOS10 is looking sweet, 12.9" Pro screen 5.6million pixels is looking sweet. It is a good time to buy apple shares. ;-)

  • Hey whitedragon have app developers updated their apps to scale properly for the 12.9 inch ipad pro? Is it taking very long for app developers to update their apps for the larger screen? Last time I used the 12.9 inch pro for 2 weeks some apps I used like Google maps and imdb didn't scale properly for the larger screen? I'm asking cause I'm thinking of buying a 12.9 inch pro next year when the new one comes out, I'm not sure I should upgrade if a lot of apps are not optimized for the larger screen.

  • It would be a 'slate',.. and it would be much higher than 4k (if by Apple) iOS users!!- iOS 10 public beta four has added some wikkid messaging stuff and fixed a whole slew of little idiosyncrasies Recommended!

  • Lol that would be insane but I'm not discounting the idea of a 20 inch ipad pro yet until I try it myself. I think 20 inches would be perfect for home use but would be too impractical for uses outside the home since finding a bag to carry a 20 inch tablet is already a challenge.

  • It would be cool if apple released a 20 inch ipad pro with 4k resolution

  • 'Samsung Galaxy TabPro S 12" Tablet" is a potential alternative for this size category, that gets a few things right (over the Surface etc),from what I have read like weight balance etc. Obvioulsy not iOS (a windows 10 tablet), advertising literature suggests 'full windows 10 performance(an oxymoron if ever one existed- should suggest full windows compatibility, but hey, nitpicks..)'. Might be an option for some considering the 12" size/space. Perhaps 'pick up' in shop to see... hearing good things about battery life etc. I know which is my go to platform for loungeroom and out and about productivity- Though if I needed windows platform, and only had space for one device.... Personally, my kit bag has two pockets, one for tablet, one for laptop... and a cheap windows (technically multiboot/multi OS) laptop is there if I need windows platform when on tech callouts.

  • Using itunes? None of it is very usable..... Jokes aside, I wish I new. I don't recall, was it 118Gb, maybe it was 112Gb... Just beware that default itunes settings are happy to reduce the quality of your entire exising media collection (actually destroying lossless masters etc, after reripping in shitty compressed methods- true wouldn't matter through ipad speakers, but my pc has a $500 sound card hooked into some serious kit (even 320kbps sound is very obvious difference depending on genres..)). I did find, upon installing VLC and some other software.. I could copy flac files direct to the VLC app without having to rerip or include them into itunes library. Using dropbox / other cloud methods, and using the 'filesystem' of some of the iOS apps mitigates most of the issues I found VERY FRUSTRATING as a 20+ years tech veteran. In fact, I loaded my 128Gb Pro with sooooooo much software and lossless music and media that I did feel that it was enough storage space. And anytime it ran low I could just delete 'an album' and be fine and dandy again....

  • On the 128gb model, what's the usable gb size after it has the ios loaded?

  • Ya I use my ipad pro 9.7 so much that I rarely use my desktop pc anymore. I tried the pro 12.9 for 2 weeks and the size was fine for me, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get used to it. I still find reading magazines on the pro 9.7 a little bit too small sometimes, that's why I'm thinking of upgrading to the pro 12.9 next year when the new one comes out. The only problem I had with the pro 12.9 is that not all apps are optimized for the 12.9 inch screen. I'm waiting for more apps to be optimized for the larger screen then I'm upgrading.

  • 10307mAh ???

  • I am unsure and unread on this topic. Consensus a week or so ago was that the develops build would hit with WWDC (it did), public beta would hit a month from then, and official release likely with new iphone release later in the year... Regarding your 9.7"Pro, it really is the right size.. I have the 12.9" and it is a use around the house tool. Finding IT bags to move it isn't so easy... and it is heavy (by comparison to the smaller units). Admittedly I do like it so much it has retired my using of three other PCs. Pencil is cool, and really helps navigating the large screen space given the OS has been designed from the ground up for smaller devices.

  • I agree with you lol, i have the pro 9.7 but even though I love it I almost regret getting it since I tried the pro 12.9 shortly afterwards for 2 weeks and I absolutely loved it even more so then my pro 9.7 simply because of the bigger screen. I plan to buy the pro 12.9 next year when the new one comes out.

  • When does the official IOS 10 come out? September when the iPhone 7 comes out?

  • iOS 10 out now for devs! (Beta 1) Install a developer profile, then can 'check for updates', download (1.9Gb) and install..

  • I hope you ate undated Actually and simply if I tell you all. your people old enough For the Technology bat. In my country Srilanka most of people opinion is. The Apple is great bat very sensitive. As a member of Apple I will tell you honestly just make it Heavy Your product because it's quickly damageable thank you [email protected] (if it's suitable opinion just replay me my mail)

  • I like this one because its much bigger than the latest (Pro 9.7)

  • How about telling us here why you think it sucks then? Surely, you have enough intelligence to do that instead of spitting out a few words?

  • wow you should write an article yourself, honestly ... you answer that comment with such an answer. what determination.

  • This statement that you are generalising means different things to different people. Presently, artists use the 12.9 for portfolio showing. Many creative types use the tablet for a very versatile range of uses. For many uses there is no clear equal, and in the areas where there are equivalents (wacoms proffesional tablet) they are not anywhere near equivalent at a whole range of other things. Sure.. If you want to play a 'by the numbers game' and quote specs sheets; there are other pieces of Technology that sound more impressive, and certainly, not comparing apples to apples, a 'surface pro' can be argued as a competitor (I wouldn't use it as an example because they are vastly different bits of technology, maybe not at a hardware level, but certainly with regards to usability and function) I have worked in IT nearly all of my life, and after hours I am a techno enthusist. I certainly am very well researched, and unfortunately, I will not take the proper time to preempt an argument with people who don't understand this industry. Spec sheet numbers are so easy to manipulate to look good, or can often have little actual 'real world' relevance. The surface pro is an excellent piece of technology. For many many people it will do wonders and be the best thing they have ever owned with regards to computing. Personally I have no use for one. In fact the reason I have an Apple tablet (Pro 12.9"), is due to windows 10. And I wouldn't enjoy using legacy apps and apps not designed for a 12" surface/touch screen interface on its small form factor. Nor would I appreciate the battery life (or lack thereof compared to the alternative I chose). Sure we can all list a whole slew of software that is considered the best of the best and 'industry standard', and state how it isn't available for iOS. Therein is the rub- A lot of that super awesome software is best used on multimonitor setups with a range of input and output options (wacoms, scanners, high speed docks /card readers for cameras, large storage areas for backsups etc) So a lot of professionals already have that setup. For them, a reliable tablet with functions that aid and support their design process or something that doesn't 'get in the way' of workflow that makes long hours researching easy, might be what they are after. And to these people, they would agree the 'Pro" that Apple labelled their new hardware lineup, is apt. I know that this tablet having stupid amounts of memory (by iOS requirements) is 'future proof' for iOS updates. I can wifi a sony rxr's 43mp output direct to ipad and edit the file (up to 50mb) in Enlight(software). The canvas size for some of the art programs, on the pro, is ridiculous for me, but extremely useful for other artists. And playing around on 5.6million pixels of screen (in less than 13" of diagonal) is very nice. I have many professional grade monitors and display units at my disposal, and love that the iPad is the one on my leg whilst I sit next to my daughter on the couch whilst she watches a movie. (The exception not the rule, but subtitute in; whilst she runs around at the park with other children, my 'go to' screen is a very nice one. I come from a photography background. For many things I do, even with desktop wacom multimonitor setups; the apple pencil and the Pro are a very productive and 'killer' combo. Vs win 10? iOS, (ever growing in capacity and function) is a beautifully stable, non interuptive OS. It aids the creative process by being predictable and 'not getting in the way'. Win10 has caused me much downtime, and it is embarrasing being 'infield', needing another windows pc to quickly troubleshoot if a clients hardware is functioning (or is in fact just a windows/software issue), pulling out my top tier Vaio laptop, and it has to reboot. Apparently an update needs it to. (This has happened more than once) Whilst it is easily argued iOS doesn't give full access to the hardware, Microsoft don't give a user much control of their software. I know which I would rather be at the mercy of. Truth is modern iOS multitasks like a champion. Software to do just about anything is available. If not, its likely on its way. Metal (the graphics api) is ahead of direct x 12 for granting efficient access to the hardware, and battery life and speed /heat is the winner. A surface pro, with a confused interface, never sure if touch or mouse, never sure if for large or small screen interface (windows being very versatile), and having the constant issues that plague a microsoft software product, is, I would argue, not for professionals. A professionals time is important and valuable,.. More than the one off cost of a piece of hardware (and yes, they no doubt consider all purchasing options). What the Apple Pro does, it does very well. My jaw dropped the first time I fired up some CAD software and the realtime render, with textures, at the resolution I was seeing was just insane (smoother than it had any right to be) *(Flashbacks to coreldraw running on a 33mhz 486 made me laugh; I can barely make my tablet pause for a second no matter what I make it do). Now, given professionals usually own more than one piece of technology, and this is likely to be supplemental, they can remote access their desktops, or turn the apple tablet into an extended screen, and run ANY SOFTWARE THEY WANT. So, I won't argue with people who believe that their chosen way (either based on saving money or on having the 'fastest' parts), who visualise all they can do (but not actually very well in a lot of instances), and voice so loudly, calling Apple (as a company) out for any mistep, and want to take task with the 'Pro' tablets. I am, and I concur, "they are". (Pro) When people want to be dismissive of iOS and/or Apple... Look for the reasons or the basis of their claims. Many independant studies have shown time and time again that ACTUAL PRODUCTIVITY goes way up in an Apple ecosystem (cost of deployment is paid for), and troubleshooting and tech support required also goes way down (cost of deployment is paid for again). This tablet may not be a jack of all trades, but if not, I would argue it is, in fact, a 'master of some" What it does do, it does very, very well. (I am happy using it for >90% of all workflow and productivity, meaning it has retired/replaced my need to sit in front of my i7 triple monitor w/ wacom setup. I still fire up my watercooled i7 with gtx780 for games and the odd movie rip) I use the Apple Pencil and a logitech k480 bluetooth keyboard. Also a rubber case that has a pencil 'slot' for storage. These sit in a small pocket of my IT bag, with another pocket containing a 13" vaio. THere is also a tonne of occasions where I rest the tablet on a small stand at the dinner table and watch Presto or any other given streaming service instead of firing up the loungeroom plasma and surround sound system. Maybe because I like the sound of the speakers so much, but likely more the intimate mood that is 'huddled around the table' together watching tv. Hope i haven't given the illusion of watching lots of tv/downtime. We don't have an aerial plugged in, mostly just watch blurays (once or twice a week). I DO admit to spending many hours a day on my tablet. My body likes the resting on the sundeck or lounging on the couch modes it allows whilst I do heavy reasearch. (Professionals might do this as well, and lightweight, long battery life is an important metric, not given fair weighting, until you've tried it!) Context is very important

  • Apple is claiming that this the replacement of the laptop. But ipad pro lags in software department. Its only a big ipad nothing else. Crazy apple.

  • Hi What is FFC resolution? What other issues in IPAD PRO 12.7 that you find can be improved?TY. Regards Kelvin

  • Hi Jass Why U deduce that Samsung Tab s2 9.7 is better than ipad pro 9.7?How about ipad pro 12.9? TY. Regards Kelvin

  • Notability? Liquidtext? Do either of these do what you seek?

  • Hi Anyone know whether any wordings can be written on pdf (read-only) documents and website like the 'Screen write' function of Samsung Note? Thanks. Regards Kelvin

  • Is the game's are preloaded are only buying

  • I love it

  • Has the hardware but lacks the software.

  • You cannot make regular GSM phone calls with the ipad pro, you can only make voice calls using apps. I have an ipad pro 9.7 LTE that I carry around everywhere as my daily driver phone using voice calls with apps(i dont carry a separate smartphone). I use the app fongo for my calls and texts, although there are other apps on the app store like talkatone that provides similar service. If you make a lot of calls I wouldn't recommend using an ipad and voip apps to make calls since the call quality is mostly dependant on your LTE or WiFi connection but if you are like me and don't make a lot of calls then using an ipad as a phone shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'm considering getting the 2nd or 3rd generation 12.9" ipad pro next year to use as a humongous phone lol although it might be a little bit too big even for a crazy big phone lover like me lol.

  • Those all are mad who say that it is bad or it sucks. This is the best iPad ever and the greatest iPad, better than any laptop or tablet. I don't recommend iPad Air 2 owners to upgrade for it. In my opinion, if any Apple user wants to upgrade his/her device, wait for next 2-3 generations because then only you will be able to enjoy and experience new features. I had a ver because then only you will be able to enjoy and experience new features. I had upgraded from iPad 2 (2nd generation), and therefore I love the new iPad Pro. In my opinion, people with the iPad Air and older generations should make the upgrade to the iPad Pro because it's simply outstanding and excellent and awesome and no Apple purchase will make you regret it, and never. Love iPad Pro.

  • can the ipad pro be used as a stand alone phone? Not asking about linking or forwarding from a iphone, stand alone make calls from a Ipad LTE.

  • Just wait on the iPhone until the iPhone 7, 7 plus and 7 pro come out

  • No, it sucks and in my opinion, get the other one

  • Well t depends on what you have if you have an iPhone 6 don't make the switch but if you have any other iPad just switch over to the pro

  • Should I buy an iPad pro witj apple pencil or iPhone 6s plus?

  • You can use any country's Sim Inside. But remember it can use DATA ONLY sim. You can't make GSM Calls or Receive GSM calls from an iPad.

  • Can I use all network sims any country or just use in USA or UK ???

  • 2 Days of Battery Timing on 4G LTE and 1 DAY FULL DAY ON CONTINUOUS HEAVY USAGE. 3 Days on WIFI. iPad Pro Rocks. :) One of the finest decisions i made in life is buying the iPad Pro.

  • I love this iPad

  • This is very cool pad

  • Next 9.3 beta should restore missing Apple pencil features (navigation and selection stuff mostly) that have been missing since 9.2.1 9.3 betas allow using night mode display, that shifts colour balance away from blue light spectrum that is assosiated with daylight and being awake. Research shows that less light exposure prior to bed allows for a deeper sleep/better nights rest.

  • Okay, I got the Pencil. Vs a stylus on the Wacom enabled Samsung Notes... Sure the Note 4 series lags a little with refresh rate/digitising. On the whole still very impressive... But why bring up the Pencil on the Pro forum?? Oh man oh man oh man oh man. Having a surface this big WITH Apples control over ALL facets of hardware and software design is a win. Shading with the side edge of the pencil tip is nice, and the 240hz sampling means drawing super fast circles actually render to screen as circles (writing is actually cursive).. but the real win is the large size of the device that you can do these things with. I have several wacoms at varying price points in the house to use. I stopped using them for artistry and more as just mousing surfaces after I got my Galaxy Note. Drawing onto the screen was awesome. (I had owned many stylus devices previously but they are in no way the same thing)... So, a tablet sized drawing surface? Wicked. Not a lot of software doing handwriting conversion... Something I thought Apple would have had onboard. (Newton owners from circa 1993 rejoice) There is software by some ex Apple staffers that allow users to screen pair the Pro with other Apple computers. Makes me want to get some of my Apple desktop hardware up and running to play with this cool feature (I doubt I would go back to Linux/Windows). Bloody Apple ecosystem!! I can see myself considering iPhones in future (something that never even hit my radar previously) Airdrop etc and other Apple ways of doing things gain traction in an all Apple environment. Anyhow the pencil is so very cool. So very far from being a Stylus needed for using a tiny device (Jobs would be 100% behind it) Whilst I thought I would use my Notes screen for fun art stuff (my daughter does). The small screen is the killer. Even the smaller wacoms feel very limiting to creative input. Whether digitiser size affects design, I cannot say, but unlike my 5.6" Note, writing sentences of text on this tablet is very doable. Until now, a lot of handwriting mini devices want us to write words over where we just wrote words. Being able to flow on, natually across the whole surface in whatever 'font size' we wish is just soo cool. War hammer game is kick arse use of the pencil.. I think having my fat fingers in the way of the screen would be annoying. The pencil works well. I do not like how some of this first generation pencil software makes the heavy pressure option so heavy. Makes me want a glass screen protector, and fears of NIBs wearing out faster than necessary. Not having a convenient case for the pencil or way to attach it is strange. For the money Apple ask in my local market (118 US dollars), I would expect a svelte hardwaring case to be included. (That even $20 pens typically come with). Recommend Faithless as the background musician on this here Pro. Studio engineered excellence, smart and savvy lyrics, respect for religious views etc, and beaut panning of sounds make the speakers/sound output really shine. Try "Back to Mine" Bug powder Dust. (Bomb the Bass Kruder and dorfmeister remix) Happy using people's. Having lived on gsmarena for many many years, Apple forum goers, exemplified here, are obviously too busy out in the real world getting on with living. Not violently defending their brand loyalties in silly forums with trolls who have no interest to understand how great it is to have a product be reliable and just help us work/get stuff done. Admittedly, I'm feeling kinda lonely here with no one to banter with! (Grins)

  • Alright, got an IPad Pro over 24 hours ago, and have had a little time to play with it. Being my first 'i'device, I have had a huge learning curve. I had previously downloaded half a dozen Apple magazine, there is a free eBook (how to use iPads) in the Apple Store, and along with every Apple iPad Pro article I could find being well read (including articles on the processors (and benchmarks), iFixits' breakdown, and many forums for both hardware and software) I feel my crash course on Ipadedry has gone well. I know --something=- about these things now. My background is over twenty years of service in IT.. Everything from inbound and outbound technical support in call centres, managing various PC sales and repair outlets, as well as purchasing advice and technical recommendations for families and business' IT needs. I have owned a couple of Macs, only one that has run an iteration of OS X (the best consumer OS in the world), but otherwise have been firmly rooted in the land of Windows and Android. So, like, "Wow" (My honest feeling towards iOS) Firstly the bad: ITunes is horrible. (I won't qualify why I feel this way, the people who know why, have their own reasons for disliking it, and I am sure there are many people who get along fine with it). iTunes does the very basic in the most basic way possible. By default it has some poorly set options. (Like wanting to delete my music collection after down converting it to a low bitrate Apple format). I cannot interact with an iOS device like any 'normal' computer. The great: I cannot interact with an iOS device like 'normal' computers. I can see that a parent or family member can set one of these things up and then rely on it to perform. There really isn't any chance for someone to accidentally move a crucial folder or delete something in any meaningful way. It really is idiot proof. Whilst, initially, learning the iOS way to do things is frustrating for PC hardcore users... After a few shortcuts are learned and the iOS way of doing things is understood, it all becomes very functional. Sure it is a 'walled garden', but it can do most anything you throw at it, and quickly. The speed!! Everything is insanely fast (except iCloud transfer rates). Opening 20MB PDFs and scrolling, rapidly, through them. Zooming into anything and having the text render sharp and smooth every step of the way. (My overclocked water cooled i7 doesn't render any quicker; in fact Windows has a much harder time doing the same tasks.. Nothing a benchmark would show, just something a user will notice- it is all lag free and feels zippy on the iPad) The screen!! Blacks are black, Font edges are sharp. Everything animates very smoothly. This is my favourite display in the house (and that is saying something, given the wide range of options available, mostly top tier parts). The brightness, the battery life. The noiseless (fan less) nature of the beast. It runs mildly warm when under load. Perfect computing component really. Articles are popping up all over the net benchmarking and comparing the Surface tablet to the iPad Pro. They are completely different devices. If a person had access to no other computers, I could see how a they might lean towards a surface Pro. They could add an optical drive and burn discs and generally they could do a few tasks that full sized computing allows. (Firmware updating other hardware etc) But for everything else; they will generally be running software designed for a different interface (there is a reason their keyboard HAS to have a trackpad), which has no size standard in place. With a design team that has NEVER shown consistency, or even appears to have a concrete direction in place. Apple, (specifically, Jobs,) made OS X to essentially render all screen elements as if they were a PDF. It is obvious iOS has the same heritage or 'Motis Operandi'. What this tablet can do with rendering images to the screen is crazy. As I mentioned above, a fully fledged i7 with major amounts of high speed ram, running on several Solid state drives, all operating at max; cannot do SOME things as smoothly as this iPad does. At it is on these fronts that the iPad is a Surface Pro killer. Yes, technically a Surface can do more things. Assuming a user of this iPad has another computer to do computers things; this becomes the ultimate 'consumption' device. Everything I have wanted to do has been done smoother and 'better' on this device. In the interests of not accidentally losing my words here.. I will post this now. Created on my iPad, using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard (k480). I am no loyalist to any specific tech firm. I can confirm that if an iPad can do what you need it to do, then the surface is most likely the wrong option (if we were considering between these two..) as it is bulkier, less battery efficient, running inefficient software not optimised for the end user. With the iPad it just works. Caveat: learn iOS. The ways to do things that people say are 'so easy', only become so when you know how to do them. PC background people might not consider needing to use four fingers for multi gesture commands. And trial and error won't reveal all the shortcuts available to make iOS a true champion. Cheers, and thanks for your read.

  • Anyone play Legend of Grimrock from their IPP yet? Headphone output to full sized cans? (impressions vs other iDevices/tablets/phones) (My unit is in the mail, and my eagerness is in my mind; any great ipad articles (print or online) to recommend?) Best accessories and suggestions for streaming software etc for using with it...? I just figure the things I use I research well... and I don't know ANYTHING about iDevices (other than a dependency for itunes). If you could do it again, would you still purchase the 'Pro'?

  • (part 2) (my phone didn't quote you in my reply, log in issue no doubt) Surface sales growing! Sure take an underwhelimg market share, finally sell a product, then quote your growth rate as a percentage, vs the competitors, from whom market share is taken, and quote their market loss. How about comparing actual numbers. Cause twice nothing is still next to nothing, vs actual IOs active userbase. Iknow which platform will have ongoing development for it. I know which platform the next generation will be using (their legacy software will be IOS). Sure the surface is a growth market area. After a world financial crisis, manufacturers went back to the drawing board with one key concept in mind @how can we make it cheaper@. (sorry I have lost 'quotes'; '' has become @. bluetooth keyboard via android) For a few years cheap laptops filled the market. New M$ OS came out, and rather than pay several hundred dollars for a new OS, a lot of people 'upgrade hardware'. In my country tax savings on ITcan be spread out over three years of the devices life. Business upgrade every so often, and the Surface, being a premium device when the market had little to none available, was a great draw. At a time when the consumer drive was for hybrids; the surface pro was a hybrid worth having. (do not however look at their upgrade woes to WinX) In hindsight a lot of Surface Pro users will be in regret (not for the excellent hardware, but the software execution). Very capable hardware, true. I like great build quality. I will always steer customers to better equipment, based on the idea that warranty is pointless (downtime and work lost), vs a better more reliable product in the first place (put those 'extended warranty dollars to better use buying 'better hardware'(better hardware doesn't mean more powerful, just more reliable). Now, I hear your complaints about iDevices that sleep and brick. I am not an iDevice loyalist so I do not know how widespread this truly is. However I have been an IT service person for greater than twenty years, loved the early builds of Win X (thought it was their best OS yet), but official release has gone very poorly for them based on some very silly descisions on M$ part. I am presently recommending only a few clients and friends to do the upgrade in very specific situations. (As a techie I have to stay abreast of technology so I typically run beta OSs etc, and run Win X on ALL of my PCs, and laugh often and loudly at the things it does). So I get that you have had some bad times with IOS, or at least, have read about others having these issues. I will taste the waters for myself. I do have high expectations. and yet I think they are realisitc and I will be relatively happy.... Just don't compare specs on a surface and believe it is a better device. A swiss army knife as a lot of bullet points on a sales sheet. Still rather cut my vegetables with a kitchen knife.,

  • okay; I will bite.... tech wizard hey? lets start with basics: dual core does't mean 'two tasks', it means a processor with two cores. For decades machines had one core, and still managed to do a whole slew of cool stuff. Multicore allowed having near seperate processors to do this even more effectively. Chip architecture has a lot more to do with efficiency and effectiveness. We used to have CISC and RISC chips, RISC chips, not playing the 'numbers game' (nice bullet points on a sales sheet) did more per megahertz(Mhz). Hence Power PCs having a few hundred Mhz having greater capability that Gigahertz CISC chips that powered majority of the market. Phone system on a chip (SoC) are, to my knowledge, RISC, but have had major progress building in all sorts of functions that they have become 'jack of all trade' devices.... This new chip (A9X) has strong single core performance, and its dual core power is VERYCAPABLE. Better yet; the large design of the Pro allows effective cooling and it doesn't have to throttle the speed down (or fluctuate all over the place). The embedded OS, multicore aware, will no doubt load the chip very effectively. Mobile considerations have to include a power envelope. Even the almightly Intel has been making newer generation i7s to be more power efficient (as they had raw performance in excess). The CPU (well SoC) in these will have enough grunt, going forward, I would like to think it will be a few years before Apple can release an IOs update that 'slows it up'. Samsung OLEDs are great. (I write this from my Note Edge). Having five or more OLEDscreens in my house presently, and having owned many more previously, I am aware of their niceties. Pure black being the biggy. I use a plasma TV because accurate colour, switching quickly, with a great contrast ratio makes everything 3D. Viewing angles maintaining colour accuracy is another big benefit of of OLED technology. So a tablet....? Well personal viewing dictates it is most likely to be viewed head on. (being portable and weighing ¬700grams, is easy to tilt to face head on as well) So colour shift isn't the issue. The black level of the high quality panel here used is excellent. This display achieves a phenominal 'real world' contrast ratio. And best of all: Apple have driven down screen reflectance. This is a big thing. Might not make marketing literature; but those in the know, and even children or anyone who actually USES this, will see it in action. Having clever software that changes the white balance (reducing blue light at night) is exceptional and Apple should be commended for this! Fatigue free viewing. Don't get me wrong; I am a tech enthusiast and not a brand junkie (maybe ASUS due to their ongoing love for our planet). Whilst the brands that drive me the most nuts are often the ones I buy into time and time again: this is my first 'i' device. Hey I hate iTunes software. And I am the sort of person who likes fifty webpages open at a time, and tweaking the most out of my setups; I look forward to just having a nice PRODUCTIVE tablet. Apple ecosystems have always shown highest levels of productivity (less time fighting with the OS to get stuff done no doubt). Personally I don't want my business taken down by a forced M$ update on my Fleet of Win X machines. Having an Apple toy that I can use that makes research fun rather than arduous is why I have purchased this tablet. Might even get the pencil, and consider downsizing my Galaxy Note. (purchased for use as a tablet and a phone, jack of all, master of none). Having an ¬A4 screen for PDFs sounds awesome to me. As screens go this one is superb. Clever stuff like dropping the framerate to prolong battery life (this isn't just a software trick) shows the typical Apple thought. And ramping the digitizer up to 240 samples per second for pen(cil) input is cool. Anyhow, I am a 'convert' you could say... This doesn't compete against the Surface, even though shallow tech enthusiasts will think so (based on price point and keyboards?). This tool might not be for everyone; but per usual, productivity goes up for those that do consider using this. Hmmm. Productivity>numbers on a spec sheet: For The Win

  • m having problem while purchasing it... can u help me out...

  • are you sure about that. a supercomputer took 20 mins to replicate data that the human brain can process in 1 second, so please enlighten me

  • The CPU of this tablet is faster and more capable than your brain,so please stop inutile comenting here just to make you heard

  • increasingly efficient and effective

  • increasingly efficient and effective

  • Notice how the geekbench scores of the iPad Pro is around 5000. Sources:

  • you don't know how processors work

  • You have no idea how processors work.

  • I own one, it runs fantastic actually. Super fast, despite what the specs say.

  • Why not dual-core?

  • Dual core processor no thanks.

  • I hope these iPad is complicated I love it but still then its too expensive..............lol.

  • It will not support Cad Softwares

  • yes autocad 360...

  • surface pro,book sucks

  • please any one respond can the ipad pro support for auto cad software

  • Hahahahaha. I can carry iPad on my hand whole day long. While you break your back with a 4.5kg monster, with a battery life less then 4hrs. LOL. And by the way.. an Apple cost 20 cents, and a Pineapple cost $1. Why did they sell pineapple so expensive??! Everything should be 20 cents regardless of size shape!!! There, thats how you do comparison... *facepalm*

  • New update ios 9.2 Off condition after complete charge solved

  • Any news about 9.2 ios release Few fixes about iPad pro off after complete charge

  • In India it costs 1500$( 128gb,cellular,keyboard) instead I can get Asus rog g751jy wh 71 wx with i7,Gtx980m,gsync, 32gb ram,

  • microsoft book is better than ipad pro because of the intel i7 processor what were we talking about again?

  • well said

  • developers support is very low for this device. because of the limitations implied by app store and its OS. developers really hate it, because it lack many required features an OSX has.

  • Because it crashes after multiple updates.

  • Okay. got it... I got thew information from Specout... ^^;

  • Hi, calm down wizard.. This is first most an iPad. It runs iOS App. iOS Apps respond to touch first, pencil / keyboard / gamepad second. Apple do not need to make another desktop hybrid wannabe. They have the Mac, for those needs. And anyway, a hardware is junk if it does not have developer making optimised wonderful Apps for it. Sure you may get a Windows tablet, running those x86 programs built for 30 inches Desktop Rigs running massive graphics cards in mind, but you get bad performance.. because after all its built for "Desktop" in mind. In Professional use, its very simple; so long as you get the results, it does not care where that result is from. Soo if you in anyway feel iPad Pro is lacking in professional use, feel free to develop THAT App you feel is missing, you can earn a bunch! Thanks.

  • How is only being able to run two task considered Multitasking?!? What would you need a screen with this resolution for???? Especially since it's nowhere near the quality of Samsung's AMOLED screens! Sorry but if I wanted to buy the Ultimate Maxi-Pad Pro...... it wouldn't be an iPad that basically bricks itself every time you charge it. Requiring you to do a full hard reset back to factory every time you charge it. And with that screen..... no wonder it needs 4GB of ram and still isn't able to reliable boot up or stay booted up every time you let it go to sleep!!! Where's the Desktop Apps and how good can a pencil stylus be, that can't be used system wide??? Surely Apple released this in jest..... like in just in case iPad now drops below 20% market share now! ......which is basically assured with only Microsoft Surface Pro set to claim market share growth over the next 4yrs! And just in case you think this will save iPads........ consider that while iPad sales fell, Surface Pro had 40% growth year over year and they aren't even considering Surface Pro 4 in those numbers from IDC!!! ......if you want a computer that can actually be productive...... you certainly aren't going to choose an iPad anything. Which is the King of Consumption only and never will be anything more without it able to dual boot OS X or Windows on it!!! .......and where's the BEEF...... like in Desktop Quality Applications able to do actual Professional Productivity tasks???

  • Just get yourself a Nintendo

  • Why have 4gb ram when it can't do as much as a windows tablet?

  • wonderfull

  • current surface pro 4 with windows 10 is a different story. it can even run development and productivity tools like 3dsmax AutoCAD android studio and visual studio like a normal PC. battery life and charging time are good for a pro tablet too.

  • I beg for next version to contain osx like full Os. it weights almost like surface pro 4. but surface pro 4 feels more premium than this (hopefully in price too). surface pro 4 is more powerful than many windows laptops out there and it can run productivity tools like full version of Photoshop, unity 3d for game development, 3dsmax and autocad for design and android studio and visual studio for developers. all this and weights only as much as an iPad pro. battery life is 9hrs vs iPad 11hrs. I hope apple will understand these and change their mind with iPad pro 2. make a true pro product and you gonna win

  • No. It is actually 10 hours charging time. Unless it have fast charging which I doubt till end of earth.

  • Why its so big baterie? If its 10 hours life?

  • In Apple however no tab models come with flash, you can also add a flash light for its additional

  • And at the same time get a terrible backache. That lenovo is heaver then a stone brick.

  • go home fanboi, ur obviously uninformed.

  • for that price or even cheaper I can get a high end gaming laptop such as lenovo y50

  • jst learn to appriciate

  • No. Surface pro is bad. As bad as any PC/Mac that uses 15W cpu. Sure can run metro apps well, but there is a lack of good stuff. But its bad performance in the x86 programs. So what can you end up using it for? Just office and limited web browser, Other things will just burn thru the battery and lag badly. Since the batt is behind the screen.. instead of on the keyboard for more capacity. Thats why there are ultrabooks (battery endurance + laptop), and tablets (ultra-portable + mobile). You mix both, you get junk.

  • And now they say it will replace pcs...LMAO

  • I am not a fan of ios but these specs are the best specs of Android

  • When the 1st generation iPad was launched, Apple said the best screen size is 10 inches. Any size below or above 10 inches will not have market. Later, we have iPad mini and iPad Pro. Why Apple just admit it was Wrong?

  • Few years ago iFans say very big tablets are stupid.

  • Yay it has NFC so I can use it to pay at grocery store woowoo amazing lol

  • You mean the Surface Book? The Surface Pro is both powerful enough and light/small enough...

  • If you are ok with iOS ,you should get the Pro since it has very accurate display, also get the Apple Pencil.

  • OSX need keyboard and mouse to operate. Put this on a tablet? You get that junk called surface pro.. too heavy / battery to carry around, too weak to run x86 programs.

  • Good tablet but will be better if was with anather OS, like OS X or Windows. Apple's logic!!!

  • No you are wrong geekbench 3 suggests that ipad pro can go up to 2.25 GHz

  • No,you are wrong the A9X in the ipad pro has a maximum speed of 2.25 GHz and it s dual core, but over 3000 points in geekbench 3 shows a respectable laptop and even pc performance

  • Only after first hand experience one would know whether samsung note 12.2 is better or ipad pro. I am using note 4 and its stylus is very accurate and good for small drawings. Hope apple offers something better.

  • No he was right you are wrong samsung view is low in specs.

  • Yeah that's my main beef with Apple.

  • Samsung has a 18.5 inch tablet....

  • Ipad laugh at removable storage... Wait...

  • This device's CPU frequency top is 1.8 GHz, source is Specout. add this detail pls.

  • Is this ridiculous giant tablet out yet. It is too big. Why they make this s***?

  • iPad Pro laugh at the CPU inside note 12.2. Hahaha. iPad Pro laugh at the weight of 18.4 view. Hahaha. iPad Pro laugh at both's battery life. Hahaha. Even iPad mini 4 laugh at the battery life of android tablets. iPad Pro, the best balance between weight, power and endurance.

  • Do i need to sell a car to buy this? which will never happen

  • Note Pro 12.2 LTE is even better. It is similarly light and even come with Spen built inside. You need extra weight with Apple Pencil and the keyboard with Ipad Pro to be fully functional to the fullest. Note Pro even have expandable storage and better front camera. Btw, why Apple being so mysterious about the battery capacity. Is it even really 11,000mah as rumored. If so, why gsmarena left the battery capacity section empty? Fake advertising by Apple.

  • Yeah right. Thats what i was trying to say. You need a "table" to make use of that 18.4 inch 2.6KG heavy ass "tablet" / "monitor". iPad Pro is still as light as a 1 gen iPad. You can bring it around more easily and thats whats its aiming for.

  • 5-6kg tv? You want to carry a tv watching show? Why not put the tablet on the table with the kickstand. Duh. You see what you did there. Genius.

  • 2.6KG. You want to carry 2.6KG watching shows? Why not simply watch on TV .. even bigger right?

  • "Massive 12.9" display"?. You haven't seen Galaxy View with 18.4" display. That is what movie lovers should go for.

  • This new ipad pro looks so much more stunning then previous ipad models 2 of the best features r the massive 12.9 inch display the 2nd is the 4 speakers and also the smart connector is great because there's no need for bluetooth or battery's for the keyboard ive seen the 3:30 minute video more than once and it's fantastic and it's 12.9 inch retina display will make multitasking much easier and will also make watching movies and TV shows so much easier and better and the 4 speakers will make it sound better aswell

  • Haha lol.... Screen size has nothing to do with RAM. If anything it is the display resolution and iPad Pro has much lesser resolution than 4K

  • Haha lol.... Screen size has nothing to do with RAM. If anything it is the display resolution and iPad Pro has much lesser resolution than 4K

  • I think iPad Pro will seemingly blow the competition. iOS devices run at their full capacity with normally 1GB RAM and figh head to head with other devices. This beautiful device has 4GB RAM with 1 of the most advanced chips ever seen in a tablet. However, Google & Microsoft have their own mammoths. The competition will be between iPad pro, Surface Pro 4 & Pixel C tablet. Samsung's View won't even stand against this competition with those low specs. It's gonna be a tough battle . . . . . .

  • I think Galaxy View had proved you are wrong.

  • you probably don't have any idea that the bigger your screen is, the bigger ram you need.

  • Note's stylus is caveman in front of Apple Pencil!! Its junk, can only detect pressure, thats why it does not even need power.. Even the surface pro's pen is heavy and need battery. What Apple copy stylus idea??? They already have stylist long long ago, just that they drop it to favour multitouch. And besides, its optional.. and not force down your throat if you do not want. Multitouch is still the primary input for everyone, Apple even say its optional, all Apps are made such that with or without pencil it works.

  • Even worst, the stylus sells separately and need to be recharged after used.

  • Ipad pro is providing the stylus now. Samsung has provided the stylus in Note1,2,3,4,10,12.2 and now the latest Note 5. Everybody is copying one another.

  • Blackberry Have Owen Design and Device But Samsung are dishonest . if Google don't release android, Samsung and company like this what should do with lagy bada OS and ....

  • I'm laughing so hard right now seeing the 3.4% popularity of ipad pro. It sound so successful on paper. Statistic says only less than 2.5 million unit ordered to suppliers for the rest of the year. Lol. Fail. Good game Apple. Pretty much almost no demands for this oh-so-powerful tablet. First 4gb ram ipad? Lol. Hahaha.

  • Wake up my friend. Tomorrow you will say blackberry cipies apple

  • Samsung not comparable with Apple All Samsung device imitation of Apple (S5,S6,and ....)

  • Heh , Samsung Note pro 12.2 was released 2 years ago , with LTE , Pen , fast Chip , half the price, 4k display . nothing new here

  • That's because of the apple a series chips. These make apple phone incredibly fast even with 1GB of RAM

  • surface 4 or 3 > 10000000000 ipad pro

  • Surface no appzzz Surface pro no LTE.. and weak performance on x86 programs. Hahah buy microsoft = hybrid.. and your experience is also hybrid.

  • OMG!!!!!!! 4GB RAM???? 1GB ram is enough for iOS, I open lot of applications in same time and my phone is still working fast! APPLE did a great job in their latest phones/tablets, I

  • I wonder if 4.8% popularity can be considered awesome? I rather buy a Surface.

  • i hate apple and really does not like iPhone but this thing is awesome

  • Wow with 4GB RAM on ios u can put around 100 apps on multitasking for a long long time. My IPhone 5 with 1GB of RAM can have 30 apps on multitasking and I think it beat any smartphone with 2GB + of RAM so just imagine what 4GB on ios can do for u

  • Some mistakes were made: iPad Pro has oxide-TFT display, not IPS. It won't come with iOS 9.0.0 nor 9.0.2 - it is expected to come with at least 9.1.0, which supports Apple Pencil and some other functionalities aimed for iPad Pro.

  • next century))

  • Apple iPads are made with unibody aluminium and are probably slim. Due to the huge battery there tends to leak some of the current and pass through the aluminium, when ur hand or fingers touches it the electricity is passed out through ur body to the ground

  • Yeah I felt many times but with iPad air 2 like something pinching

  • when will it coming to Africa?

  • That's actually 12 inches. The 12.9 in is the display of the IPad pro

  • Resolution should have been 1920x2560 not 2048x2732

  • Apple A9X. The name sounds so intimidating...

  • love it

  • u have a special relationship with the tab *joke*

  • Its still true. You do not need any stylist to use iPad Pro. Multi-touch is still the primary way to interact with it. In fact, for most Note users, touch is STILL the primary way to use it, and the spen is not the primary selling factor for most people.. its the bigger screen and bigger battery. The pencil is a optional product for the artists or pro users.

  • That is the iSpark. iSpark is a trademark feature from Apple. It is a way Apple maintains it's security to prevent the beloved consumer from endangering themselves with inferior products of other competitors. By maintaining a closed garden on Apple Products, Apple prevents you from having to deal with the headache of lesser products vulnerable of security hacks. I hope this helps

  • But Apple did talk about how you'd never need a stylus for any apple products. Now people pay so much money for an inferior product with apple rather than getting it better with Samsung, Sony or HTC

  • omg best tablet ever made by humankind i need dis plz apple release now

  • He is referring at the front camera..and yes it would be nice to have the same from iphone 6s 5MP camera..for video calls etc but i think it's ok even so My guess is for a big ipad it's more important the front camera than the rear..but maybe it's just me

  • I am encountering something like an electric spark when I am using my ipad pro every time i touch other gadgets or metallic objects or i will touch other person. I am wondering why it is happening? Would somebody tell me why is it like that?

  • So you believe that a 12 inch tablet is meant exclusively for taking photos right? Maybe you should consider your thoughts. Because they're a waste of intelligence.

  • 8 mp camera, 1,2 secondary camera... what is it? industrial waste? iPhone production remains??? or low technology?...

  • Oh. Well, does the Macbook come with a keyboard. YESSSSSS. Does the Surface require you to spend 100 on a seperate keyboard? YESSSSSS

  • Surface pro is like a deformed child of a laptop and tablet! It can't perform as well as a laptop (ie. You cannot put on the lap and type properly.. and the processor is junk) It can't perform well as a tablet (ie. Junk battery life, junk apps, need keyboard attachment to properly use x86 programs.. then rather get laptop!!) Suureee it can perform as a tablet or laptop, but its neither pro in either fields.. You want the very best of its field, you gonna pick iPad or Android tablet, for touch based OS, and laptop or macbook for Desktop OS. Else you stuck with a white elephant that is not good in either case..

  • 4GB of Ram Holly Shit.........

  • I own Air 2 for almost a year now and using it heavily for almost everything. Two down sides are the main camera quality (photo & video) and the fact that both speakers are on the same side. Based on above specs of IPad pro, both features are kept with no improvement unfortunately. I know this is not a camera but with the power and specs on board I was expecting better camera to capture the good moments considering the time I carry the Air 2 with me!

  • yeah but can you use the MacBook as a tablet....NOOOOO!! can you use the surface Pro 3 as a tablet YESSSSS!

  • Correct. if you want a mobile OS the iPad pro si there with all his accessories around 1100E With higher price you go into Mbp domain that is more capable than any surface

  • Here's why I don't like the Surface Pro 3 as a tablet. The OS is Windows, Windows requires lot of horsepower than iOS, the Surface Pro 3 uses the slowest and lowest power i3/i5/i7 chips Intel makes. OUCH. It'll not last very long in terms of speed. For about the price of the top end Surface Pro 3 i7/8GB/512GB, I can get a MacBookPro Retina 13inch 8/512GB and it'll spank that Surface Pro up and down the block and have more I/O, Bigger and better res screen, a real keyboard rather than some flimsy keyboard cover, much better track pad, the ability to load Windows if you really want to and have 2 OS's to run any app. The processor is a much higher speed laptop grade processor rather than the slowest low power processor. The MBP has 2 USB 3 ports, not 1, the MBP has 2 Thunderbolt 2 ports, the Surface Pro 3 has none, and it also has HDMI, the Surface Pro has none. Now, what were you talking about again?

  • Just win Surface Pro 3 because of it's ability to communicate via LTE, about the rest it doesn't have nothing of Pro (enviroment).

  • Nothing is great about Samsung. Shamsung, Samesung, Samsunk. All the same. Apple is now king of smartphones and tablets now.

  • Yeah.. right. Run full autocad.. BADLY!!! iPad Pro's version is gonna last long and fast! Sometimes, tablet cannot do what desktop can do.. and desktop cannot do what tablet can do.. We need optimised Apps for each platform.

  • why somepeople compare surface pro 3 with this marketing apple ipad pro, ipad is far behinh surface pro, surface runs pc full in all terms, autocad whatever and ipad cant do it

  • Only to you. Who will buy a surface pro? Is everybody gonna own a surface pro?

  • Nothing is great about Samsung. Shamsung, Samesung, Samsunk. All the same. Apple is now king of smartphones and tablets now.

  • A Note Pro 12.2? You gotta be joking. The screen is worse, processor is worse, camera is worse, OS is worse, battery life is worse, it's thicker and heavier, it has worse speakers, and is made of worse build material. But it costs less. Lol you made my day ;)

  • Released and announced isn't the same. Your logic is broken. First Note was announced a day before IFA's start, which is the first week of september, so yeah Steve talked bs yet again. Just like his 2010 comment about sub 10"inch tablets being DOA. And then wowsie iPad mini.

  • Dude use your logic, the galacy note is released in october 2011, and Steve Jobs died in early october 2011. There is no way he criticized galaxy note.

  • not so smart, u know apple wont make a phone with card slot, we dont even know why u bother asking, only so, puto

  • It seems you are new to Apple product. Any of Apple products, doesn't have possilble of external memory. :)

  • when the apple Organization Introduction ipad air2 I say it has the best camera now I say the god camera in the over the tablets

  • no memory card? lol

  • The pen needs to be recharged, because it has its own pressure and tilt sensors to power. The 4gb RAM is needed for serious multitasking. The tablet can edit 3 4K videos at a time, for crying out loud.

  • microsoft is dead

  • A Note Pro 12.2? You gotta be joking. The screen is worse, processor is worse, camera is worse, OS is worse, battery life is worse, it's thicker and heavier, it has worse speakers, and is made of worse build material. But it costs less. Lol you made my day ;)

  • Surface Pro 3 is king of tablets :-)

  • According to the site. (And no. I'M NOT a worker of apple. just a hybrid fan of both apple and android) 32 GB wifi: 799$ 128 GB: 949$ 128+LTE: 1079$

  • the 4-GB ram is not because Apple became like android. It's because this tablet is meant to be for heavy multitasking. as for the pen itself. I thought it would be like the note series's S-Pen. Non chargable and built in.

  • 12.9in? who will cary it? ahhhhh yes it's ok if it's from apple.

  • I'm also Galaxy Tab S user but according to my experience as a user SAMSUNG never give a damn to hardware performance. Never take good care of trivial things, say, charging socket, keyboard performance so on. Although features and benchmarks left behind Apple pays special attentions to each and everything in detail. I'll try iPad Pro this time.

  • This is ipad pro? Need 4gb ram now? Seriously. Why the Apple Pencil sold separately? Why the Apple Pencil need to be recharge as well? Why you do this strange thing, Apple? Better get a Note Pro 12.2 LTE at this price. At least I don't need to recharge my Spen to use it.

  • Dude this is amazing

  • Now I have a lot of reasons to buy this tablet! King of all tablets...predator

  • as a guy from nigeria, apple dnt work well in nigeria, because nothing is free on apple and dia security, will nigeria hate most, some of us like them bcus of dia name, will nigeria only buy apple product bcus will look who ever have apple device as a millionia in nigeria, for dat go for function and wat it can do, apple dont work for us, will dat love games and application but not name dat i have apple devices

  • samsung note pro can rip off, but surface pro 3 and above still beat the apple ipad pro. so silent apple fans

  • This is so heavy

  • Steve jobs, criticized when Samsung launch the first Galaxy Note device because of the S pen! Now, Apple creates Apple pencil !! Hahahaha !! I can't stop laughing !! Apple copy Samsung !!

  • Microsoft Surface\Samsung Galaxy Note combo rip off!

  • this thing is a BEAST

  • I have iPad AIR with 128GB internal memory, and when iPad PRO come next year with 256GB internal memory at least, I will buy someone, for sure!!!!

  • You guys never get it. It's not just about having a feature. The implementation makes a huge difference: 2 cars can both have a V8 engine. Doesn't mean they'll both have identical performance.

  • Not good. Years behind Samsung. Apple need to learn a lot.

  • What is the apple pencil diameter at its widest point?

  • This is a monster

  • king are ready to judge all tablets

  • expected price?

  • Bring it on!

  • Definitely will ditch my ipad air and go for this!! KING of all tablets~~!

  • Best joke ever. It's just the opposite. :3

  • 4GB RAM on iOS. Just wow. This device will blow anything out of the water.

  • woahhh best tablet ever!!! :)

  • Bluetooth is 4.2 not 4.0 best tablet ever i think this time will win the global mobile award

  • and again no expantion nor OTG....what the h..ll do you want a "pro-user" device if you cannot read and give files with flashdrives to anyone? don't get me wrong, it's a good tablet..but with the amount of money you give it could be MUCH better.. and don't forget that in some months we will see the "Pro S" (or something like that) and it will have some more specs...

  • i think a9x is quad-core processor

  • Sony Z5 Premium 2160 x 3840 pixels on 5.5 inch (801ppi) so the tablet screen is nothing special.

  • holy shit !!! 4gb ram for ios!!!! nice

  • awesome omg that is 4gb

  • Killer!!! Massive and powerfull device... Love it!

  • tbh, im a android fanboy in which i dislikes most of apple products. but this beast changed my mind. im thinking of getting it as soon as possible after the release. with that 4gb ram, just totally a beast.

  • Awesome device...4gb of freekin RAM??Awesome

  • yehey! i dreamed of scribbling upon ipad screen, and anvied samsung of making such pen-enabled device. but the wait is over, and apple made it, better!

  • Not to mention that 2730x2048 display. xD

  • The A9X in this iPad is laughing at your comment.

  • I sure hope so! They will make it better and with a proper stylus and amoLED display (hopefully 4k).

  • Wow, a copy of the note pro. I'm going to stay with Android for ages to come.

  • no where near to beat Samsung, Apple learn more..still backdated..

  • Wait for the Samsung's answer.... second version of Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2...

  • ipad pro mostly internal 128,256,512gb /camera 24mp /resoulosion 8k /😔

  • it should be compared to the 12" Samsung Galaxy Note Pro

  • Medical, creative and enterprise are going to explode with this device. Feel so sorry for Android, who just can't to see beyond hardware and tech specs. Check out how it changes things in the Medical field at 8:20. It's not all about hardware, it's hardware and software solutions working as one.

  • Apple Pencil is similar to Samsung galaxy note stylus .Camera is till 8mp and 1.2mp :(

  • samsung tab S2 is way better...

  • superb...

  • Disappointed with the FFC resolution.

  • 32GB seriously? Optional pen and keyboard seriously?

  • a good device with good cpu & os
