Philips X620 - User Reviews

  • Excellent phone, for autonomy and for the connection. Serious defect in privacy: in the options of sending sms there is a list of "recently used" that can not be erased. This can be a very serious .... If anyone knows a possible remedy, I will avoid throwing away the phone

  • I am eager to have a device that can stay on one month and serves as a phone. My experiences are that expensive PDA should be separated from phone, else you have not a good phone, neither a good PDA.

  • i thk this fone looks very bad and do not like the make of this fone i dnt knw the inventors waste money

  • still waiting for symbian based philips. Love the battery life already, but it needs brain to perfected it

  • Gripes, Uses USB headphones which are not readily available. Occasionally the phone has turned off on its own for no apparent reason. My first experience with cell phone cameras, so I have nothing to compare it to, but the capture time is lengthy, so often while you are waiting for the capture to happen, you end up moving the phone and capturing a blurred image. Images cannot be zoomed on the phone. PC Software does not permit accessing all the fields actually available on the phone, example - address - is on the phone, but this field is not available in the software. Music volume is very low. You cant really hear it at all in an airplane due to background noise. Positives: One touch dialing, not all phones have it. Hands free mode works well. Great battery life. Micro SD memory can be designated as the default device for pictures, music, etc. 8gb limit is lots. Alarms and dual mode time is a nice feature. Can read basic text files. Small, and I personally like a candy bar shape - no flip phones please, but thats a personal choice. USB charging, FM radio (need the USB headphone which acts as an antenna) is nice to have. Alarms are loud and very customizable. Dont read too much into the gripes, it is still a great phone with great battery life. The unknown shutdowns concerned me for a while, but they have not happened often and I am hoping there will be a firmware update for this problem eventually. This is a great basic phone. If you want a touch screen with larger viewing area, this is not the one you want, but if you want a basic very functional phone, consider it.

  • brilliant battery i get 3 to 4 weeks standby..

  • Hi there Ls & Gs, Battery capacity is 1530 not 1200!! Cheers

  • when will it come to indonesia? i've been waiting it too long.

  • well, over all ladies and gents .... it's a better phone then most are on the market slick and well built ... if your purpose is speaking .. 'cause the battery life is just the right type, for that purpose! so go ahead buy it: www.yesasia.com comes around 210euro without country tax! on top of that philips lovers, this one is QUADBAND!!! Best of Luck!

  • Where are you from?

  • I have this phone ordered will be here in a few days will give you my verdict on it . .

  • 5-6 calls per day. Each call around 3 mins. Battery live around 3 weeks.

  • anyone who owns this phone how many days you get from the battery truth..

  • Still waiting......

  • i love the specs of this cell except lack of 3g (which is very important for me). Wake up, philips! it's 2009 and not 1999. Almost every manufacturer has a 3g cell on their line up.

  • This phone aready in market for 3 years?

  • we have use this before 3years

  • Hi Hindustani, have you tested the phone already?

  • So far, my best mobile phone. I love it.

  • To be clear, Philips still designs all the phones. Just a chinese company manufactures them.

  • Philips-India website has got both the Philips X620 and X710. That makes me happy indeed. Will contact them soon. Hopefully they take their web presence with more importance than Samsung-India does. Led-free soldering, firewall, huge battery-life, black body color -- I'm already more than happy just by reading the spec-sheet :))

  • Dear All i am one of the crazy fan of Philips cell phones since last 5years , because of its Long battery backup. other fetures are also upto the mark. So far i feel, Philips should go for huge advertisement like Nokia, Samsung & Sony Erricson 2 grab the market. Kuntal Aulad // Bangladesh

  • Philips has sold off its mobile phone division to a chinese company (a shenzhen based company) Frankly philips is not into strong marketing as nokia or sony or samsung. they make a good product and they let their product talk for themself. Yes the selling point of xenium is indeed long battery life and it does work nearly to what it claims. the battery life suffers when roaming else its perfect. I did use 9@9++ and could go on a week of travelling without charger. And when I would be back, the battery would still be there. I think people who have purchased this phone better comment so that people can get a clear opinion rather than speculating and confusing others who want to buy it. Thank you

  • Hi Ladies & Gents I'm back with a followup for this phone. So let's start: - no safe guard anymore for all Philips fans who loved that feature ; - no "send contact" feature, so u can't use it with any other Philips that has that; - no " other contacts ring tone" anymore, so you don't have a slick feature like that one anymore; From my experiences I know that a phone can be improved by ADDING more features not my removing good ones who are already proven to be liked by customers, shame for the Philips software department! So,.. on this point ...I really don't know how Philips see the future of their company on the mobile phones part. Can be maybe 'cause 2011 is the final year for the China's supremacy & exclusivity for the mobile part of the Philips brand on the global market...who knows! Over all the phone's looks are much nicer,... BUT... Best of luck 2 all!

  • why did they leave out the flash on the camera

  • when does this phone come to Australia. i think the long battery life is a sold point

  • Phillips invented the compact disc now there innovating again with the best battery

  • Any update on this phone?

  • hi 2 all ladies & gents I am a philips cellphone user since last year when I got the xenium 9@9k< I must say I'm very proud of it> and,... yesterday I've received this model x620. honestly now, the phone's looks are very nice, but the software and all the small gadgets that were included in the one that I already have are not on it any more... they tried to make it fancier inside, but at what costs... definitely not user friendly like the one I have . I'll keep you updated with the exact ups & downs of this model ! Best regards.

  • Being over-judgmental is neither polite nor charming and definitely NOT healthy. Life is a half-empty glass of water for some people. For most, it's a half-full one. By the way, shopping for a product by sales figures is a sure sign of marketing-victim. Brand-victim, too. A product that satisfies the prioritized scopes and/or requirements should always be preferred -- regardless of the sales figures. Right or wrong? We call it a cell-phone, mobile-phone, portable-phone. It's a phone -- after all -- to set us free of the wires. Then how come the bigshot manufacturers are still ignoring the "good" battery backup feature -- is something I can't understand. It owes me awe actually.

  • Here is Philips snapping at Nokia and Samsung door, with this phone...The problem is, it will hardly ever get to Europe..... Nice design

  • Whoa...a 50 day stand by time. As amazing as that is that probably isn't the case. But then again it's not suing a standard Li-Ion battery so maybe it dose have a 50 stand by. Even if it is just a few weeks thats still very impressive since even some of the best phones (as far as stand-by and battery life) maybe last a day or two max with very very limited use. This will be interesting to see, who knows maybe Philips has some tricks up they're sleeves. I didn't even know they made cell phones til a few days ago.

  • its crap !! wait and see first ,about the battery life ,you all know that the 1200 h stand by is in the lab not in real life, so maybe 7 to 10 days max , the 600 day stand by is not to be born yet....

  • wow

  • Haha, if it had a 600 days standby time they could sell it without the charger and make Nokia blush with envy. But even 50 days... wow. In real life, if it's even "just" 14 days it's still awesome.

  • WOW! 600 days! yeahhhhhh

  • Good try from philips, lets wait and see bfore we comment

  • the phone not bad only best charge life

  • cud of had 3g

  • I thought Philips were out of the phone business! Well it's nice seeing you again , Philips hope you made some nice improvements :)

  • Li-Po is the new invented battery by Philips, battery times can reach up to 600 days, but such batteries would cost around $2000. So this is just a smaller version of the real capacity.

  • it has chinese words.

  • Nice design, nice outlook, reasonable features and exceptionally good battery life. Hopefully its value for money!

  • It means its got the BEST Battery Life on a phone!

  • hey what that mean 1200h of standby time??

  • woow, this phone will rock i think..

  • is very interesting about the camera with the 3mpx..bad thing is FLASH.not having :D is a good telephone .1200 hours :O...hmm NICE about 50 days....:))

  • philips is a reliable brand in home appliances, but in mobile phones i think we have to wait a long for a philips made windows PDA. here this phone is armed with latest features like 3+ mega pixle camera, Edge, blue tooth, external storage slot upto 8 gb, a powerful bettery & many more hopeful for the sucess

  • This phone will rock

  • looks ming specs suck. y dear god y

  • standby time is given 1200 hours.thats 50 days.thats a new world record i guess.

  • Thats such a nice phone.

  • Nice look, too bad that there's no WLan. Looks Fancy though

  • FIRST! Nice look... =)
