I completely disagree. You just chanced on a bad model. I had a Nokie 6700 Classic and it didn't last 1 month before it had problems. (I am sure Nokia fans will defend it the same way I am) I had this phone ever since it got released, and I NEVER had it repaired and until now, it is still working as if it is brand new. Good picture quality for a 2mp camera, with video call functionality (Not video share *sigh.... C901) And awesome sound (Must be the large speaker at the back. Careful use will always extend any phones life (In my case, the 6700 Classic turned out to be defective in the first place, got a replacement, with more problems) Also you will need to look into how they service the phones. If you got to a good place (LG, Thank you for the immediate fix for my KU380) and avoid bad ones (Nokia #1 turned out bad, went to Nokia #2, and they fixed the phone with no problems.) In the end, it's all still on you as the user. If your phones cannot support continued or sustained charging (SE and Samsung batteries can be charged anytime, and will not overcharge, unlike some other makers who are known to have batteries bloating if overcharged even by a bit. The makers cannot be faulted if their manufacturing plants turned out 1 or 2 models bad. As long as you treat your phones with care, They will all last.

ok, this is a warning to all of you.. do not, ever ever ever buy this freaking screwed up phone. i had the phone for about 6months, and it suddennly crashed, not allowing me to send ANY text messages. and, its not only my phone, but my aunt's phone too. so, i sent it to repair and upgrade. when it came back, it was fine, but a week later the phone started to show 'inactive sim' and shuts down by it's freaking self. shit. its not my sim card's problem, trust me i changed the sim a couple of times.. this phone is seriuosly screwed.

Overall it's a nice phone, nice user interface, easy to use, but unfortunately message alert is too short, when i choose my own mp3 ringtone it only rings for 10 seconds and it stops. And there's no missed call alert, it's a quite simple and maybe not an important feature but it's very usefull though. I've used this phone for about 6 months, lately sometimes it hangs for about 6-7 seconds, and sometimes restart in the middle of usage.

I think the picture above is actually the v640i, I had the v630 before and it was a great phone, but a little plastic, later upgraded to the v640 and it was a great phone when I bought it in 2008, pretty basic, lighter than 100g and easy to text with. Better menu system than my other branded phones, ( Nokia and Sagem ). Only problem was that it has a decent camera, but no flash so in poor light it takes very bad pictures. Still going well after year and a half. Will stick with Sony if they continue to make mid-range phones of this quality.

This K630 is indeed a 3.5G phone! It will appear an "H" symbol for 3.5 network, or "3G" for 3G network only. I have tested it myself. I frequently use this phone, approx 12 hours a day. Quite stable, but you must make sure about the temperature and humidity. Based on my experience.. I can say that this phone is SOOOO cheap... ^_^

Just got the bad news today. My phone cannot be repaired according to the sony service center, they say that the IC was corroded. It still works but I can no longer charge the battery using the phone, will have to use an external charger. I never soaked this phone in water or had it get splashed on. The only way this could have happened is via moisture build up on the exposed charging plate. I've noticed all sony phones do not have covers in their charging plate making them prone to damage. Will never buy sony phones again until this problem is fixed. Had my phone for 6 months

I've had this phone for about 6 months and I like the phone but I have to tell you about my bad experiences with it. The IC interface at the bottom of the phone where you connect the wall charger or USB adaptor is exposed to the environment. There is no cover for it. Mine got corroded and now I cannot charge my phone either with the wall charger or with the usb connection. Hope this is still covered in the warranty. The phone, at least the one I got, also hangs/re-boots a lot. Will re-post and tell you what happens when I bring it in for servicing

There's no co-relation between theme and font size.. Themes only changes the graphics in standby, background, etc.. If you'd like to change the font size or even change the font type, then use the a2uploader, but it's a bit risky if you don't really know what you're doing..

You cant change the fonts for this phone. Its a possibility your using a theme with a large font. try changing the theme as it changes the font size also sometimes.

Try to search at getjar.com, there's should be doc viewer for this fone, i've downloaded once.. But it's just a simple doc viewer, you can just open the *.doc files, not to edit them..

G502 have a bad material of case and keypad, so sad... about video call feature is not important thing (its useless or no need to used). k630 & g502 is for a cheaper HSDPA experience. Thxz.

I just got it for few days..k630 has a megabass too..the sound quality is exceed expectation. My only problem is the control,the keypad is not ergonomic n the control are litle bit complicated. The phone material are much more better than G502..it looks more simple yet so exclusive..

I just got mine a week ago and been using it as an hsdpa modem and I love it! this phone has got everything the other expensive brands and models has. I don't understand why aren't more people using this phone? tell you what, compare this phone with other phones with similar features and most importantly with 3mbps HSDPA. this phone is unbeatable. I got mine for 150 U.S dollars. yes it does support 2gig M2 card, I got the sansdisk ones.

I like my sony k630i. It does what they advertised it to do. Nonetheless, here are the shortcomings I found with this phone. First, it hangs. I solved this problem by updating the firmware using the sony update service found in the CD or can be downloaded from their website. I also noted that putting a strap on the phone may cause the back cover to not close snuggly with the body. This probbly causes the sim card and battery to also have poor contact with their respective terminals. After making sure that the strap was placed within the little slot provided for it in the back cover plate, I did not experience any hang problems anymore. Another quirck is when you activate the free gadget PIM wall paper. When you try turn it off via the applications area of the phone, it seems to keep coming back and your old wall paper won't appear. I solved this by going to the wall papers area and selecting the other options other than "application". This should prevent the PIM application from hijacking your standby screen. Next, this phone isn't too ergonomic. I have big hands and, although the buttons are large and easy to push, my thumb is beginning to hurt especially when I have to press the lower 3 buttons repeatedly. The good things I found with this phone is that the speakers are nice and loud, it allows me to connect to the internet wherever there is a cell site signal which I could the link to my laptop via bluetooth allowing me to surf anywhere (service provider dependent). I've had no issues on connection to other phones (my country is full of Nokia phones and conversations with these phones are just fine)

For a budget phone k630 �s surely an excellent option. Just bought one and i have to say it delivered so well than i expected. The hsdpa works wonderfully fast (i prev used w950i). Though not a w series, the sound quality is equally good. The earphones are equipped with bass enhancer. Camera is not too bad. I wont say the 2mp cam is good either. Then again, even pics from k850 camera will lose if compared to real camera with the same pixels.

The K630i is a all rounded phone. It's not in the W series because although it has the left, center, and right button dedicated to music, there's also the camera, which is more focussed on. I'd have to admit that I'm not very happy with the camera quality. Photos that you take are not always necessary on how high the megapixel is. That counts, of course, but you could have a 500 dollar phone and a 200 dollar one, both the same amout of megapixels, but one still better than the other. Why? The lens. Only the cyber shot is good, I would think. Nokia, is, on the other hand, supreme with mobile photography. WHen taking photos with the K630i (since it is not a specified phone) the image does tend to get rather grainy, and with night shots turns into huge black pixels. If you have a crystal case, the look is gone. Especially with havana brown. But without, it's definitely a nice phone. Handy, 3G, mediocre but still good camera, and highly compatible music player. Internet, easy nav, media in-browser... It's great.

To: wira, This phone is definitely much difference from k530i, apart from the minor hardware changes you'd mentioned, this is a newer generation phone that's equipped with the latest A200 platform sharing the same better interface as the new k850 / w910 etc having 3 soft keys. It also has got a new "media" browser where photos, music, videos are shown like the way PSP is and not forgetting the walkman 3.0 software loaded and the 2nd non walkman phone equipped with "mega bass". External speaker is loud and you will also notice that unlike other older sony ericsson phones, the equalizer now has an impact on how the loud speaker perform. K630 also differs from k530 on 3g, it has 3.5G or rather HSDPA that allows you to surf net as fast as 3.8mb/s which is 10 times faster than normal 3G phones.. Overall, this is a fantastic new entry level phone from sony ericsson.

This is gonna be one of the best budget phone.For its price,u cant complain as it has hsdpa and edge for fast and powerful connectivity.Although the screen is only 176x220 and 2mp cam,sony ericsson's screen has always been good and the camera has photo fix cybershot based function.So i think that if u like the design and don't care much about the stated minor issues and have a small budget this will be a very good phone 4 u.

Well I must say it has the same keypad layout as the w810 walkman phone. Probably the same functions too. As I recall the w810 was an update of the k750 so in fact after 2,5 years they recreated the k750 with a better joystick. If the price is right (as in cheap/low end) there sure is potential for such a phone regarding the sales of the k750 in the past. However I would ask myself why didn't the camera get the autofocus? The screen resolution is less of an issue in my opinion. And they should make it available in more colors to supply a larger public.

It's very similar to the v640, but not the same. It looks nicer, if you click on the picture you'll see. And it has better data capabilities such as edge and hscsd, the v640 doesn't support that. And the v640 supports Vodafone music streaming service, because it's a Vodafone exclusive. Those are really the only main differences.
