It's been almost 7 years since I got this phone and I still use it every day. It's a well-built phone that does everything it was built for well, considering it's from 2009. Only problem is the proprietary connector by Sony - sometimes it doesn't connect and I have to jiggle the connector. USB+earphone jacks would have been superior. The hippie-dippy "Help Conserve Electricity by Disconnecting Your Charger Too!" prompt is annoying, considering I always disconnect the charger first. I'll put off buying an Android phone until this guy dies on me.

Make sure the phone's set to 3G, and not power-saving 2G. Not all networks support 2G anymore. If you still can't use the internet from the phone's browser, it means your network provider doesn't support this phone.

t715 is the best mobile in features and functioning i realized that but it have a one major problem of charging. Its socket had failed many time in 2 year. Net speed is too good and email and gps and track id video dj are the most useful for me. Due to socket problem i have lost the apportunity to connect it with pc. Its bad i have read that the charging problem is the main problem of it. I love it its is unique and working like smart phone

I've been using this phone for the past 16 months and I should say I love it, though it has its share of problems. The headset cum data port is pathetic, I have to connect and disconnect the cable a few times before its detected. Also, the build quality doesn't feel too good, and a good enough drop can shatter the phone. The camera can zoom only at VGA resolution, and low light photos are pathetic. Another glaring miss is the lack of an autofocus. If sony ericsson brings out a model sans these niggles, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

I once had Sony Ericsson T715, and I would say that its primary cam is really good though it doesnt have secondary. It has killer looks too, but all in all, this mobile isn't good at all, coz after using this in a year, it suddenly wont work - you cant read messages, nor make any call or do anything with your phone...

If you have some issues regarding phone functions/operation, post here; let us try to resolve. And if it is some damage of software or hardware, give it to an auth. service center instead of calling the customer care- it is still in the warranty period..

i bought this phone 1 and half year ago. no disturb at all but after 1 year display went out. the customer care told it would cost 1700 bucks. i agree. they took over one month to repair and i got my phone few days ago.overall the phone is quite ok type. the thing is its a middle class phone. camera is middle, music is middle, no gps,no autofocus fucks me often.built is only the good thing about this phone. software is fine.games can be downloaded. but after investing 10000 bucks i get nothing.bit dissapointed with sony ericsson.

i think u got the inly hadset of all the production batch of T715 which was thoroughly tested by sony ericsson... Being in contact with the service center since so long because of this phone i found no matter how u use it, it is going to end up in a service center...

well,i'm a proud owner of T715.I bought it in APRIL 2010 and till today(Feb 20,2011),it hasn't shown any problem.i think people complaining about it must learn how to use a cell phone.a phone is not a toy which is supposed to be played with. My T715 shows a stand-by battery of 5 days 17 hours and 23 minutes(recorded by myself recently). Now I don't think NOKIA can outsmart SONY in terms of battery!i have 2 nokia cell phones(X3 & 5223) but they are of no use.well guys don't be distracted by bad comments.go for it. I assure u all because I'm a proud user. But never forget to take care ur mobile.mobiles are not objects to be thrown or been ruthlessly used.

UPDATE:Today i got a call from SE that my phone has been repaired.When i reached there they were giving me a replacement phone ie SE Zylo as t715 motherboard is no longer availaible .I then went to the SE Showroom and enquired about its price and t715's price.T715:Rs.8300 and Zylo:Rs.7300.So i refused to take the Zylo.I have been told to wait for 10 more days.

it is possible in very remote cases where the handset is completely out of production and no spares are available... my T715 has been to service center 5 times till date but i haven't got any credit note or a money voucher... also i dont think T715 is out of production yet as there is no successor of the T-series launched yet. As soon as it is launched T715 will be replaced by that handset as T715 had replaced T700... :) good day..

Gave it today....My friend was using this piece and it malfunctioned.there was a problem with the motherboard so he sent it.As it was in warranty,they said that as T715 is out of production they will not be able to repair it and hence sent him a money voucher(worth 45% more than phone) to get himself another new Sony phone.Is it possible really or there was some another reason for it??(or he is just trying to fool me)

Yes. System connector of new phones is integrated with the board. So you'll have to change the whole board if fast port is loose. Better do it before the warranty ends, otherwise it may involve high cost.

Either your handset has got some carbon on the port or it is the same old connector problem. I have faced the same problem before, take your handset to service center. They will do the needful. (Don't be nice to them and if the problem is of the connector this might take approx 15+ days)

I'd like to tell you all about video calling. It can only be made with a phone which has front camera. No front camera means no video calling. The front camera is dedicated for video calling only, no other purpose. You can't use rear camera. Somebody said that rear camera can be used for video calling, but the question is, has he/she EVER do it, and it succesful? Of course, I guess NEVER.

its very good phone. I am using it since March,2010 and its going smooth. Once it fell into a fully filled bath tub for around 2-3 minutes but fortunately nothing happened. It seems to be shock proof also as once it fell from a height of 20-25 foot and once again it survived. And it slipped away from my hands quite a number of times but it survived each and every crash.

you are right, i tried changing fps n codecs while converting the vdo to WMV format but nothing works... ir just recognizes the file as WMV and says cant play it... Btw converting them to mp4 format is a better option as it works universally on all phones if u need to share the videos... fwd me your email id at [email protected] will update you if i get some clue about the WMV settings...

In the specs, wmv also is mentioned. But it doesn't work in my phone. I tried wmv ver 8 and 9 videos(QVGA), but getting the message 'can't play this'. It even identifies the video as WMV and the file goes right into the videos folder. Not playing. Any ideas?

I have not used Naite. But I have heard that Naite's camera is not the best of 2mps; not bad though. (Hope you noted the absence of camera button and landscape-fullscreen- preview). Naite won't disappoint you for the price. Camera of T715 has one drawback- no autofocus for 3.2mp. But if you take snaps carefully without even slight hand movement, the pictures are above average.

Difference is the camera. Naite has 2MP; T715 got 3.2MP with led flash. Naite has no camera button; you have to assign a shortcut and it has no landscape preview mode for camera- i.e, You hold it vertical in the usual position and take photo. Also sound through Naite's speaker seems to be softer-not very loud-compared to T715. Then Naite has a front camera for videocall; T715 has not. You have to use the rear camera if you wish to videocall. Naite is lighter and has more battery life. T715 scores in looks and style compared to naite. But Naite is cheap, it has value for the price. Now it depends on your preferences..

The sony ericsson t715 is a great mobile phone. very good quality of sound (I used it also like a common radio in live voice modeand the quality was great). At the moment i don't found trouble with this mobile phone (I got it on April 2010). very fast internal software (release R1HA035). good quality of camera image. no wi-fi, bluetooth good (i used this mobile phone also like mouse for my pc, you can also use windows media player of your computer...). Beautiful games inside: sudoku,kasparov chess, Brick breaker. inside there is also some applications for modify pictures and sound. No touchscreen. very little and elegant. Is fragile, keep with care. For me is a very good phone

Hello, It is a known issue with Sony Ericsson that if you allow the battery to completley discharge then the charger will not charge the battery in the mobile you will have to insert your battery into another mobile to charge and make sure your battery never drains completley. Unfortunatley there is no sofware fix for this so uploading the latest software will not work.

Hi all, NEVER EVER BUY SONY ERICSSON PHONE.... the kind of service i have been getting it cant be worse than any provider.. i purchased this phone in april 2010.. after a month it had some problem with software, they updated the software after 15 days.. & again now in july i could see the display, i went to the service center they told me its liquid damage cz some strip was red... my phone was always covered with plastic i dont knw how he said its liquid damage... den after arguing he said maybe because of moisture.. & he said i will have to pay the repair charges n i was ready to pay, he said approxiamtely 1000rs/- & he asked me to come next week, i called them again before goin just to confirm the phone is ready they said i will have to pay 3000 rs/- for repairs i was still ok.. now its been more than a month even after regular follow up im not gettin my phone back? they just hang up the phone saying call next week.. i calle dup sone ericsson call centr, they said they can do nothin but apologize.

I've had this phone for about 5 months now. I loved it at first. When you have too many messages it will start lagging. It'll take a while for you to reply. The sound is great. It's loud and clear. It's also very easy to text. I don't know if it's just me having problems with the screen but recently the screen keeps turning black when I slide it open and I'd have to turn it off. The camera quality is okay. I rate this phone a 3 :P

3G basically provides high speed internet. You get a broadband effect, browsing is instant, downloads are fast, you can send large media files like videos over air, video/audio streaming will be possible, You can watch Youtube and mobile TV also, etc etc.... Video calling is only one of the features of 3G. You speak as if 3G is for video calling only! I wont be using video call much, thats why I selected this phone even though it hasn't a front cam. But if video call is what YOU make use of in 3G, then better choose a phone with front camera..

i had this problem too. you're talking about the screen brightness? it would go up and down. so i asked for the replacement phone. and when i got the new phone it has the same problem. so you can adjust the brightness manually and it will stay the same way or just cover the light sensor located next to earpiece with a tiny black sticker and this should solve the problem too. its just the light sensor technology is not perfect yet.

I am using a Sandisk 8gb micro sd, good performance. Update software with R1HA035, if you haven't done that yet. It will fix many minor software issues and it claims to improve camera stability. Update through air(gprs) or using SE update service pc application. ... Try HPM-64 or MH-100. Both work good with this handset. HPM-62 also good with high bass.

I have major issues with this phone in relation to trying to save video clips to the external SANDisk 2GB MicroSD card. I thought it might be the card so I bought another card and I have the same issue. Problem is it starts trying to save the video and sometimes is successful saving one but on trying to record a second video, it always hangs and I need to take out the memory card and put it back in before it works again. On the new memory card, it just hangs halfway through recording and again I need to take it out and put it in again. The new memory card is worse than the first. You don't have to do anything special with these memory cards for them to work, do you? Also, the back of the phone is really difficult to take off, I find. To make matters worse, I bought a Sony Ericcson hands free headset HPM-70 and now that is starting to crackle. Have had to order a replacement headphone now. I have only had the phone 6 months.

I bought this phone for the features (3.2Mp camera, media player, 3G, small but decent keypad, HSPA - fairly good deal retail with loyatly discount. Like anything else, it's gonna break if you abuse it. The good: This phone is well designed and reasonably good quality inside and out. The not so good: The keys on the face and side are weak and will break if you over press them. The bad: SE needs to dump the charge / data / headphone connector. It is a poor design, has now broken twice on my phone and is the reason I will not buy a phone with anything but a USB connector again. Sorry SE, otherwise I happy.

terrible phone. mine has a problem i cant replicate to the technician people where the display wont update. so you are left staring at the main menu when you get a call. or you cant write a txt because it decides to display the screensaver instead of the message screen. As I was in getting it fixed someone next to me had some problem with it not turning off/on properly. avoid like syphilis

Hi folks, i really liked this phone as its modern and compact, the screen is a good size and very clear but I must say am not that impressed with the durability of it . I dropped it once and it landed flat on its back and since then it was dead, wouldnt start up, wouldn't charge, completetly gone! and had to get a new one. Ive had the new one about 4 weeks and today, like an hour ago, for some reason when I slide it shut, or open it the screen goes black, but its still switched on and the buttons still work. It takes anywehre between 10 and 30 seconds for the acreen to come to life again. Also means when i get calls Ive no idea who it is. Very annoying, as it took nearly 2 weeks for it to be replaced before and now i have to go through it again. Also the top right hand corner ( of the screen thats slides up) has cracked off, no idea how this happened as I havent dropped it.. 3 store will prob argue otherwise...

This feature is pretty cool! I also didn't much care about that app at first since there is no gps, but surprised when it showed my location correctly !! It works based on mobile tower signals and shows the location almost correctly. It shows route maps and many more.. But if you want GPS for advanced use, buy SE HGE-100 stereo headset which is GPS enabler. Costly.

Camera shots is much better than C510 (but T650i is much much better hehehe). No problem at all with T715, loud speaker. The 'Sony-Ericsson' writing on the back looks slightly bend, although this could be a unit-specific blip. I have twice experienced the activity menu just not working - the phone would recognise the press of the button, but it wouldn't bring up the activity menu. Both times, I fixed this issue with software updates. However, it is worth noting that apart from this, the software updates brought absolutely nothing new to the phone, eg. new themes etc.

The screen on the C510 is definitely inferior to the T715. I have the T715, and the screen has very vibrant colours, as opposed to the C510 which my friend owns.

Refer my earlier post..Went back to the shop for the 5th time, this time in a real mood to throw the T 715 on the face of the sales guy. Surprisingly, he admitted that THERE WAS A PROBLEM with the charging of the T715. He replaced the battery in my phone and now it is working fine. In my family we have used over 15 types of mobile phones in the last 17 years of using mobiles in different countries..nokias( mostly), lg's & samsungs.. The T715 is a COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY.

i would definately not RECOMMEND anyone to buy this phone its a waste of money. me & my sister both have the same phone i've had mine longer and we already have the same problems. the phone doesnt charge at all completely i have to charge the battery using a different sony ericsson with the same battery type. the phone itself is useless when i dropped it ended up with scratches & the slide is wobbly why? idk ive neva in my life had a phone of this quality. the company says its coz ive dropped it thats why its going to cost me a fortune to get fixed well this is the last time im ever going to buy a phone from them.

the most rubbish phone that i have had. within 2 weeks of buying , the phone would not start up..so took it back to the shop..they hesitantly replaced it..( we never had any problems with this phone..blah ..blah).. the new phone, after about 3 weeks of use, again would not show a display..took it back to the shop for repairs..company claimed i had dropped it in water !.after arguing for 30 minutes, the employee explained that phone is condensation sensitive..that is if u keep it in (winter times) near a window, with temperatures differences, it can collect moisture and is very sensitive..i had to shell out 30 pounds to repair it.. now after 2 weeks of repair, the phone wouldnot start up again..am taking it back to the shop for another round of arguments/fights..meanwhile, i have taken out the sim and using my old cheap nokia 10 pound phone and getting by with it..the t 715 is made of cheap material..if u look at the back cover, it is made of flimsy tin material, with sharp edges..with a little thumb pressure , it will go out of shape.. secondly, all the knobs on the front of the phone are quite hard to press, and i am ending up with a painful hand/fingers when i use the phone..in short a total rip off and waste of money..don't bother buying it..else good luck to those who still go ahead and buy it..

Don't hate a phone in such a hurry! :D There is a screen light sensor to the left of the earpiece. It automatically adjusts the display brightness to the required amount, according to the surrounding light. If more light falls on the screen, the brightness increases, if light decreases brightness decreases. Now find out the light sensor to verify this. Turn it towards light (or a torch), you'll see brightness going up. Now cover the sensor with your finger and see the brightness going down. It has the following advantages; 1. Saves battery 2. Adjusts brightness according to the light, so it IS GOOD FOR YOUR EYES, remember the 'Golden Eye' technology adopted in LG Televisions, which works in the same way 3. Provides excellent sunlight legibility. You can keep the brightness to 100%, without much fear of battery consumption because the brightness will be lowered when it is not necessary. And when you are in full sunlight, the brightness rises to the maximum giving you the best visibility. I am sure, You are going to love the handset more as you use it more. This the most trouble-free and fast model I have ever used, and so says most of the opinions here..

SWF wallpapers Here is a set of swf wallpapers for T715. All of them are working clocks/battery indicators. Simply copy a file to the phone and use as->wallpaper/screen saver. The clock_battery wallpaper is useful while charging the battery or whenever battery % is need to be read directly..

well, they have this phone from Fido either on contract or non-contract(but still Fido locked) & if you get an unlocked 1(from retailers) or get it unlocked once you get it from Fido you'll be able to use it with a Rogers sim. But, I'm not sure about the whole roaming thing with Docomo. you should contact Rogers & talk to a supervisor not those receptionists at a phone desk. supervisors will get you to the right source & info. cheers!

This seems to be very suitable phone for you. The keypad is very easy for texting. Messages are only limited by the available memory; and also you can choose memory card as the storage, so it is practically unlimited. The new SE interface has more features like arranging messages in your own folders(categories) within the inbox/sent box etc. And the call clarity is excellent. Loudspeaker during call is the loudest.

For You tube video suppport, I think your country must be in the list. Then Your phone should have a data connection which supports streaming video- usually a 3G enabled sim. (I am not sure, with EDGE, you can stream video.) The streaming internet settings also need to be saved.

hiya, I recently purchased this model brand new and have only had for about a month. For some unknown reason the screen on my phone looks disfigured, however, the rest of the phone is fine. Any reason why it's doing this?? Is this model normally faulty or what could it be?? Yes, the phone will charge when you connect the USB data cable to your PC. As for your video problem, it is because..realplayer format is not supported. You must convert the video to MP4, and the resolution MUST be 240x320, or else the video will not play.

The camera is 3.2 MP... But doesn't have auto focus... And no Macro setting.. So taking closer shots makes of less clarity... But the landscape scenery shots are brilliant...

It is a basic 3.2 mp camera. Not too good. Not so bad. I am not sure whether it has autofocus- slightest hand movements can make the photos shaken. But as in autofocus cameras, if I act like half-pressing the camera button carefully, I get clear photos! That is what confuses me! But this may be because my hand is steady when I do like this. Yes, you can improve the photo quality in more than one way. One of this is the PHOTOFIX option which directly optimises the image parameters. But, to me, a better and useful option is the AUTOLEVEL in photo dj.(options>edit in photo dj). The auto-level option is more or less competent with the auto-level options of pc-image editor applications. The converted image has the same size(3mp) and quality of original image and there is an option to directly replace the original image, if you like. Also there is a automatic LIGHT BALANCE option in photo dj. This also is useful for correcting dark regions in photos or photos taken against light sources. The light-balanced image can be auto-levelled further and in that case I got better result than applying photofix. These are automatic and easy applications. If you are professional, there is individual options in the photo dj to adjust brightness, contrast and colour manually. You can add text also to image. All these without changing resolution of original image. The photo-dj is a worthy stuff; like the phone itself ! :)

Not at all :) The phone has a screen light sensor near the earpiece. It automatically adjusts the screen brightness according to the surrounding light. If more light falls on the screen, the brightness increases and viceversa. It is healthy for eyes, saves battery and improves sunlight clarity. Test by turning the screen towards lightand covering the light sensor with your fingers.

Have had this phone for about 2 months now, and I must say it's a very solid performer. User interface is fast, and everything runs very smoothly. I've heard stories about phones shutting off for random reasons, bad software etc...none of that nonsense with this phone. Camera is lacking a little bit, but as long as you have a steady hand, it still takes decent pictures. LED light is very bright, can be used as a flashlight and camera flash as well. Screen has vibrant colours in comparison to the C510, and keypad is responsive. It seems that the keys will not break easily like other phones. Also, I must say that the battery life is awesome. For me, I don't make calls that often, maybe a few minutes a day + texting + some music playing + playing games....it lasts me on average about 7 DAYS! In comparison to my old phone this is amazing. For a phone at this price, I can't complain about anything. It's a real solid performer, and nothing ever goes wrong. If you're looking for a basic phone that works well, definitely go for this one.

I've been using the T715 for about a month and a half now, and so far still perfect. The size is perfect IMO, nice and compact. The keypad is perfect, rubber texture and slightly raised, and good feedback when pressed. The design may be slightly boring, but I tend to like it, classy and not "loud" so to speak. Call quality is excellent, and the speakerphone, though located on the back, is loud and can be heard when phone is on it's back. I bought this phone first, then bought the Sony Ericsson w995 and Nokia 6600i phones thinking I would like them more, Nope! I'm back to the T715. I've been on the hunt for a phone for like the past 4-5 years that I can actually say I like it, and to me the T715 is that phone, thanks Sony Ericsson. The only thing to me that can make the T715 ultra-perfect is if Sony released a new one with wi-fi.

Talking features are excellent. The sound through the earpiece is great and sound recieved at the other end also seems good. Regarding the music, I like the music of Sony Ericsson phones much more than Nokias. There are Nokia phones which are louder; but loudness is not everything. I never felt Nokia phones music output, as pleasing and comfortable as a SE phone. This phone also has the SE standards of music quality. And the media interface also better than Nokia. And the camera...hmmm.. i'm not sure whether it meets your expectations. I think this has no autofocus and slightest movements can make it blurred. But if everything is ok and light is good, then I have got clear images. Anyway don't expect much from this than a basic 3.2 mp cam. Not having the quality of SE cybershot phones and ofcourse, i have seen better 3mp cams in Nokia phones also.(I am giving in a seperate post, the link to a sample T715 photo which appeared in a review. But that post may delayed due to moderation...)

self timer in my phone doesnt wrk n while shooting one has to keep the camera still otherwise there are multiple image like video appears.

Rest of the things can be done by installing java applications. It has excellent java support. I am using a document viewer which can open word and excel documents stored in the memory. It has Auto scroll/Find/Go options. Download it here; (...it opens the phone memory (c:) by default. Press back to open memory card (e:)...) But if you manage to save the word document as .htm or .mht or .html, it is directly opened by the phone. Get pdf viewer here; There are many sms lock apps available in the web. I haven't tried one yet. Search in getjar.com or mobile9.com for more java apps

Its been 1 month with this handset. Now its time for a review. . DESIGN & ERGONOMICS...>>>> Stylish and elegant looks. Compact also. I got the black-silver shown in this page. Slider mechanism also good and firm, though it is not the smoothest slider from SE. The keys are good to look at and work. The 2 soft keys are slim and a bit hard- but not problamatic. The D-pad is stylish and ergonomic. The call and end buttons projects a little upward so that they are easy to use. The numeric keypad is very comfortable and ergonomic to work with- good news for long 'texters'. Fast port is on the left side top, best position for using headset. The battery cover seemed a little hard at first but turned easy after using a few times. (If you feel it hard to press while closing, please see whether the notches on the other end are in proper position). The only flaw which I see in the design is the mem card slot put under the battery cover. It still seems to support hotswap; otherwise the card would have been under the battery. Then why putting it under the cover? . Display...>>>> It is large and spectacular. 262K or 16M- let the arguement continue; the display has high quality anywayz. There is a SCREEN LIGHT SENSOR near the earpiece which automatically adjusts the screen brightness with changing environment light conditions. This saves battery power also. (Don't get confused if You see the display light fluctuating) The display has excellent sunlight clarity, the light sensor also helps this. . CALL FUNCTIONS...>>>> Good signal reception. Excellent call clarity and volume. The loudspeaker is very loud for listening calls(not for music)- the loudest that I have seen. All the in-call features like conference, record etc are there. But if a bluetooth handsfree is paired with the phone, then while a call comes in, the right button option changes to 'transfer sound' from 'loud speaker'. When I select 'transfer sound', the list has handsfree and loud speaker. So 3 keystrokes are nedded to reach the loudspeaker, other wise i could turn on speaker by simply pressing the right soft key. I felt this a little inconvenient so I unpaired the BT handsfree while not using it. And there comes the only HANDICAP of this phone- IT DOESN'T HAVE A FRONT CAMERA FOR VIDEO CALL! This is the annoying part from SE- they don't give all facilities but withheld something like this. It has 3G support and still one has to depend the main camera for video calls. . USER INTERFACE...>>>> That same SE interface which we are familiarwith, with a number of improvements which is seen in the new generation SE handsets. One of these innovations is the 'smart search' function. To get a contact, one simply needs to type the first few letters in stand by, as we type in T9 mode. All the combinations of these letters will be listed- scroll to the desired, then we can call/open/message/edit and so.. An intelligent feature. This feature had been seen in some earlier samsung phones. And many more improvements in the software and UI such as save messages to memory card, conversation view in messages(sms to a particular contact viewed in a chat manner), attractive menu layouts, new MEDIA interface, adding and viewing by photo tags, shortcuts an be pointed to particular java applications, and many more.. This phone supports flash themes. There are so many swf themes and swf wallpapers available in the web, most of which are working clocks and battery indicators. Flash menus are also supported; I installed a few- but this should be done with care as we are hacking into the phone file system. I did it with a2uploader. The interface is fast. . MUSIC...>>>> The music player is incorporated in the common MEDIA menu. Music player is advanced, having Album/Artist/tracks/playlists.. time up and down.. megabass..stereo widening.. The sound through the phone's speaker is good and loud enough. When I say loud enough, the loudness is indeed above average, but it doesn't come under the very loud handsets available now. However the music output of a SE phone is always very pleasing. But I am not very satisfied with the way mp3 ringtones are heard, while the phone rings. It is different than when it is played. The music quality through the given MH 300 headset is very clear and bass can be added with megabass option or manual equaliser. If you want high bass, use an hpm-62 headset but then equalisers like voice will suit better since the headset itself has high bass. MH-300 is more comfortable to the ears than hpm-62 the latter being made larger for more bass. Overall, it is a very good music experience with T715. . CAMERA/IMAGE VIEWER...>>>> An average 3.2 MP camera. Or slightly above average. Not the best 3.2 out there anyway. Still it is good. Usual settings are available. I don't find much use for the LED light; it shouldve been a xenon flash. Video recording also average- QVGA mp4 @ 15fps. Image Viewer in MEDIA has all the basic features- landscape/zoom etc- and more. There are preset slideshow templates which are nice. However the media showing all hidden and unnecessary pictures is a bad thing. . JAVA/INTERNET...>>>> The java support is excellent. It supports most of the java platforms. The permission settings has 3 options- default/trusted and custom. If we trust the app, the annoying confirmations can be avoided. Operamini 4 is working very well, so as many other useful apps. It has some pre-loaded applications also. Google location finder is interesting. It gives our current location almost correctly without GPS! (using mobile tower signals) There are the facebook, twitter and Youtube apps and some standby/wallpaper applications. Inteernet also good using EDGE- I have not get 3G network yet. . BATTERY...>>>> Impressive. I got a best of 3.5 days with essential usage only and worst was nearly 2 days with heavy use and a java application- cuckoo clock- running on background. Expect an average of 2.5 to 3 days. . OVERALL, it is worth for the price, a stylish and functional phone with good music and above average rating in almost all areas. The absense of front video call camera is the only defect I felt. Also the camera could have been better (-still it is not bad).

In addition to the pictures you see in the files manager, there are lot of other hidden images such as album art images, caller id files etc. All these are displayed in media. In my phone too, many such images are wrongly shown in camera album part of media. Anyhow I consider it as a bug. A hidden image is one which is supposed to be hidden everywhere- whether it is album art or another. It should not have been displayed in the media.

All the images in the memory including the system folder will be shown in the media. For example the Album Art pictures of all mp3 tracks will be there. Also if you have any hidden Folders/hidden jpeg files in the memory, that also will be displayed in the MEDIA.

Hi Jan, When u view the files in the gallery it will show all the files stored in memory card as well as phone memory.. but when u view via file manager u need to select the respective memory device.. i think u might be in the phone memory and all the other files which u r looking for is in the memory card

Well, I can tell you about T715; 1. Call clarity abd loudness - superb 2. Keypad press- Only the soft keys slim and a bit hard. But I never felt uneasy with them. And the numeric keypad, so comfortable, soft and easy.. 3. It is good, NOT the best 3 MP cam available. Outdoor photos are above average. Indoor photos not very impressive to me. 4. Battery back up, impressive for a phone of this class. I get an average of 2.5 days. Best 3.5 days, worst 2 days with a java app running on background. 5. Software problem- Never, not at all.

Yari is a higher class phone to T715, atleast by specs. The major differences; 1. Yari has front camera for video call; T715 has not 2. Yari 5MP camera; T715 3MP 3. Yari has stereo speakers- remember the stereo speakers in W395 was a big success! 4. Yari has GPS, this one hasn't 5. Yari has accelerometer(T 715 hasn't) and there are a wide range of flash applications available which utilizes motion control. It has auto-rotate feature But the comparison by actual use can be given only by those who used both these. I am using T715 for a month now and I am very satisfied with this one, except for the missing 3G front camera..

Pros - it is very fast - good battery life - great and very very loud speaker - compact Cons - it has the feel of plastic - camera is of average quality Other than that if u want a phone with good battery that is fast and easy to use(i.e. if u hate touch phones) u should consider it a good buy!

Thanx for the reply. Don't worry. A screen light sensor is there near the earpiece. As the surrounding light increases, screen brightness automatically increases and viceversa. It is for good. It saves battery power and good for eyes also.

Nice Phone. Back panel is looking so cute. Camer Quality is Good, Video camera's quality is good, but while zooming quality is bad. It would be better, if it support 30 fps. It supports only 15 fps.

@ those wondering what SD cards will work on the T715: According to Sony Ericsson, all microSD cards upto 8Gb will work on this phone. See I have an Integral micro SDHC 8Gb (class 4) on my T715 and it works great.

I took it to the shop, they said they will replace my camera, but they're still waiting for it from the main office. it's been a week i haven't heard from them again.

I purchased the T715 in pink on the 3 network and the screen went all hazy with lines running through it when on the idle screen which was supposed to double up as a mirror so they sent me a replacement which went exactually the same way and it wont register that there is a memory card inserted just wandering if anyone else has experienced this problems

The camera is not bad but i cannot say it is very good, it is just normal. The radio is very good! The music player is not the best, it is not bad too. The bluetooth is OK. It's not heavy, it has a very good shape and it has a very good design.All the keys are comfortable and easy to press. Finally i can say that it is a good device.

Hey.. I opened the battery cover but I'm not able to put it back!! I used my maximum pressure but couldn't click it or fully close it.. I did it while the slide is up so I won't harm the display screen.. I think I'll have to take it back to the showroom and let them close it for me....really afraid to break it. For anyone having trouble with the battery cover, just use your thumbnail on the lower left (lower right when back is facing you) of the battery cover and pry in and up. It's on there TIGHT but don't be afraid .. it's metal. Don't use tools unless you are careful. You don't want to wreck your phone by being impatient. Putting it back on .. slide the top in first and then click down the 2 bottom tabs. They are also pretty tight at first and require some pressure. Slide your phone open while you are clicking them in so as to avoid pressing down on the screen.

The bundled earphones aren't the best. 5.video player-clarity and colour brightness - Very good. I was impressed. 6.gprs or web surfing speed - it has edge so if you live in an area without the HSPA and stuff, this should help with the speed when compared to GPRS. Browsing was ok(touch phones can really spoil you). 7.java software enability - Works. no problems 8.sms capacity - good. Threaded view looks good. 9.smart dialing - yes, voice recognition, smart search etc..

I dont know much about the Samsung but if you buy the Sony Ericsson remember that it does not have Wi-Fi. On the plus side, its a solid phone, compact and somewhat, camera is OK, music is not the best i've heard, but still enjoyable, gets the job done. On the down side, it doesn't have Wi-Fi, and if you have ever used a Sony Ericsson from K750i+, you will find the UI is pretty much the same, albeit a few enhancements.

Just bought the T715, excellent phone so far. It's your typical Sony Ericsson phone, meaning same UI, etc...What I really like is the design because it's simple, stylish, and quite compact. D-pad and surrounding buttons are great, the talk and end keys are raised so they are easier to press. The keypad may seem small at first, but I had no issues texting using it, and they are spaced apart nicely. Played with the camera for a bit, it's not the greatest, but that is the least of my concerns. Phone is built pretty solid though there is a little noise and somewhat creaks on the back with the battery cover. Overall I think this is a keeper for me for a good while.

You can make the video call with the main camera. you can switch your face to the main camera. you also can see your friend's face on the display. it is very compact and cute phone which is very suitable for the student, i should say.

For anyone with difficulty regarding the back cover: It's very tight fitting. To remove it, use a thumbnail on the lower part of the cover on the side. Don't be afraid to pry a little. Do NOT use an object unless you are careful with it. To put the cover back on, first slide in the top portion and when you go to push the bottom into place you will need to push on the botom to either side with a decent amount of force. It WILL click it. Sometimes it is tough but don't be afraid to push hard as long as you're off to the side. It's a good design and makes the phone feel solid versus a flimsy or loose cover. They are all consistently like this in my experience. I work for a Fido Exclusive dealer that sells this phone and am very impressed with it.

Damn, I HATE this stupid phone. Got it from Fido. Keeps on disconnecting every 2mins. Extremely irritating. I have taken out the battery and put it back a few times but the problem doesn't go away. I've been with fido for 8 years now and currently when I switched to this fone, I just used the SIM card I had from 2005. The customer service rep told me that perhaps I should activate the new 3G sim that came with it and the problem would cease. But no. Even with the new 3G sim card, this phone keeps on disconnecting. Extremely bad reception. Not only that, apparently Fido has a 30-min talk time limit to do a refund on a phone. So now when I send it in, they will give me a refurbished model of this phone. The exchange limit is 15 days which expires beginning of next week for me. So my options, I can choose to try my luck on a refurbished one, or I can consider my $200 wasted -- since I bought the phone. Didn't want to renew my contract with the damn company.

Hi to all. I was wondering about battery life. I was in the store talking with sales guy about this phone and he seemed very skeptical about talk time. On the other hand, he really wanted to sell me the iphone. Which I hate by the way. I was playing with this SE phone and it seemed very nice. Good screen size for such a small phone. Certainly the T715. The Naite is suitable for a lower budget but you will be happier with the featureset and build of the T715. Better build and the 3.2MP camera sell it pretty easily.

The phone is made of both metallic and plastic components. It feels good in hand though and uses both materials very appropriately. We recently started to carry this device and it is a pleasing device in it's price category. The build and screen are far superior to the inconsistent T303 and the 3.2MP camera is a solid feature for such a reasonably priced unit. 3G to boot!

This phone seems solid so far I've only had it for one day, it is super tiny (but that means a small but legible screen) compare to all the phones that i have had in the past. pictures are clear for a 3.2 meg, bad thing is no cover for the lens. the camera lens are attached to the body itself, so the battery cover has a hole (no plastic cover or anything) to accomodate the ability of the lens to see through. sound is loud and clear. Cool feature is that through the use of bluetooth, this phone can be used to do various task as presenting a powerpoint slide and control media players For media purpose, it is kind of setup like the PS3 menu. or like a Sony TV menu. menu option - choose whatever, and a screen pops up on the right, choose whatever and another scren pops up right etc. it's pretty neat. picture quality is not too bad for a phone with such small screen. it is still a little grainy when you're watching a movie but it is a low end phone. not a media player phone that cost about 500 dollars on up so i'm not complaining. Overall ... not bad for a 150-200 dollar phone

Better Wait for Nokia 5330Xpress Music. It is a slider, has 3G with GPS/AGPS support.. and univercell sites show it would be priced approx Rs 10000 which is same as this phone and above all it is a Music phone from Nokia.. Better on every count from this phone..

My point is you can install Google Maps onto any phone even if no GPS receiver, so I think they would have been better putting a screen of the media center, eg. Just my thoughts.

google maps is NOT SAME with gps.when u installed garmin gps,u can use it FREE FOR A LIFE TIME..and have turn-by-turn guidance.but for google maps,u have to pay for the kilobites of its downloaded/downloading maps..and google maps also doesn't have turn by turn guidance.so there big differences between GPS/A-GPS and GOOGLE MAPs..!!

But i can explore it's smartphone ability try to mask its ui as nice as soner.... So whatever ur phone, just love it n to be realize that no phone is perfect

I'd rather have a phone with real name rather than phone with all just nmbers and letter. Those satio, jalou, and etc. are sorta cool. And the Satio is much much more bigger than the n97 and 5800! Much more powerful processor, much more powerful batttery life, and much more support for graphics and first phone to support nHD games. And it will support the Symbian^2. At least Sony doesn't have boring outdated s60 UI! And their designs are way better and sexy than Nokia bricks!!

Uhm Sony Ericsson is improving, A LOT! Take a look at the SE Satio, it's processor is even 3x faster than the N97 and it has a 12-megapixel camera! It also supports PS games and supports advanced graphical technologies. It might also even support the new generation of Symbian, the Symbian^2. And there upcoming XPERIA X3 or "Rachael" will be running on Android! This is way bigger than Nokia or Samsung and anything else. SE is really getting bigger!!

excuse me, SE is trying its best 2 promote sliders. In fact i dont see what's so wrong about sliders n candybars, they're less likely 2 spoil in a short while, but the touch screen phones will. There are 2 cameras, one made specifically for video calling and the other for well picture taking and video recording. You can see the small lens of the video calling camera at the left of the "earspeaker" (However you call it...)

inorder to see the maps you need not have GPS, the maps can be from google maps also and it depends on the technology the phone using and kind of connectivity it has available to access the data like (loading the maps), hope that explains.
