Best thing is, that with the LegacyXperia version of CM13 you can run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on it! This will be sufficient for most messenger apps for quite some years from now (2018).

I have this phone since march 2012 and it still working. After a fall from 3th floor, 2 hours filming in heavy rain, split with beer, spent one hour on the storm and more, it still working. It only have a problems with a space on Android and sometimes with the speaker. Yes it's really mini and it I had a dollar everytime some ask me if it he has a keyboard somewhere hidden I will probably now have most expensive phone.That's a joke, but is relay good phone. And I call him Tamagotchi.

It's a very small smartphone and has got a very fast CPU. Hasn't got a lot of space for your apps. But if you don't use Facebook, Wisepilot, Video Unlimited,... you can't uninstall they. Xperia mini has got a very good LCD display and good colors.

This is a common problem of Xperia Mini that has been discussed multiple times, but I'm going to answer anyway. To solve the vibrating problem, either take your unit to a Sony Service Center to get it fixed, or flash it yourself with the newest firmware of official gingerbread or ics (ics isn't recommended though, because it's badly optimized). Alternatively, you can flash a custom JB or KK rom. If you need further instructions, use Google.

Best phone I've ever had. Just do not update to latest official version! Great GPS quality precission, just amazing sound recording quality (stereo-using RecForge!), nice video recording. So small and yet so comfortable to work with...! ANT+ - ideal phone great for sport tracking! Only downside is the smallish internal storage and danger of updating to latest system version which renders the phone slow and buggy - DO NOT UPDATE! There is no replacement for this model on current market (which makes me really sad as I need a new one - there are tons of horribly huge phablets but no small and cappable device to buy).

google for xda forum. there search for xperia mini rooting and unlocking bootloader. then u have to load CWM recovery. this is the app by which u can load custom rom like ics jb, kitkat etc. there u have also to load kernel for xperia mini. When u first time look there it will seem to be hard. but after reading thoroughly u will know how easy to install custom rom. All u need to read those tutorial about 1.rooting, 2unlocking, 3. CWM recovery loading. 4.Flashing kernel and custom os etc .Read many times. Don't do anything first, just read. definitly it will take some time to understand. It is not possible to teach everything about hacking xperia mini by mailing or simply giving simple instruction in here. You have to try it personaly.

I hv been using this phone for last 3yrs. a fantastic set by sony. I have loaded xtream bean jb 4.1.2 custom rom from xda website. I have installed 150+ apps in this mobile generally having 250+mb free ram. all hd games work well. All these r happening because i have rooted and unlocked the system and installed link2sd from playstore, with it i have installed all downloaded apps in 2gb external partition in my 32gb memory card except system apps. I have 200mb phone memory free and it is running all apps lagfree and smooth with nova launcher. camera and video quality are outstanding by mobile standard. these days you will have more features at less price in new phones, but xperia mini will always be a great handset for me. after 3 yrs of extensive use still i am having full 1day battery back up with my custom jb os. I think i can still use this mobile for another 2yrs. thanks for reading this short review with my xperiences about this mobile.

Cons: 512 ram and only 320 mb storage space for apps installation. so cannot update apps. hd video recording is good and excellant. compared to NOKIA Asha 311 camera is not as good as Asha 311 in the natural light. this is a good one to use and is handy.

Wow, this phone is still awesome. Superb battery life. I installed Honami Z1 ROM, and viola! Very fast interface! with slight bugs though, but it's bearable :D I can wifi whole day with still 30% to 40% battery life left. Best mini phone ever ;)

I hated it at first. the problem is its battery life. hardly 12 to13 hrs. but the thing is , this small thing can do anything a phone that costs 20000 can do, and it never hangs. good quality camera. superb screen. it fell on the floor and the battery and back cover splattered away , thrice, still it works. and net is fast, faster than that in tab 3. played templerun 1 ,2 , beach buggy. I would say, worth my money.. great phone.

Yes its obviously a limitation. Its a good phone but for gaming? No, not really. You will soon enough run out of storage even if you move everything to SD card, it happened to me too and i didnt install that many games, and no big ones, i have a big phone for that. The storage got so low i almost had to delete the facebook app (its one of those apps that cannot be moved to SD). For simple small games and normal use its a good phone, a famous classic.

This phone is amazing for an entry level smartphone. I bought one last Feb 2012. And i am using it 'till now. I have rooted the phone and flashed a custom ROM. But I decided using GB again. Using ICS drains the battery faster.

No it doesnt, one and a half year and never had a problem, both on GB and ICS. Unfortunately it was sold with Li-Polymer battery in SE Asia, those get weird when they get old, can experience suddenly empty battery and instant power off at like 5 to 7% left. Sorry to say HTC is lying about li-po, they are inferior to li-ion, which explains why no other manufacturer want to use them extensively, plus they have a few percent lower capacity at the same volume.

Thats what i like about it. That its small, really awesome phone, why dont anyone make greatness like this anymore, i dont get it? My only problem is that one hand usage is very hard, part of my palm too often has accidental press on the Menu button. Hope someone make a new Mini, 3.2 inch, dual core Krait, 1.5GB RAM, 960x480 resolution, and most important it must have LTE and HDSPA 42MBPS. Small and thick with big battery.

I had this phone for a year, upgraded to 4.0 long timeago, I encountered a lot of problems of this, text input bug, like re-opening the message then text char. won't appear even u already typing, also hanging or lagging as frequently. My phone became slow also everytime I open apps. problem also is some apps. automatically opened when I connect to the wi-fi o_O

I recenty upgraded my phone to Ice Cream Sandwich from Gingerbread. Im happy with the new OS version it has a lot of features which Gingerbread did not have. Only thing worries me about this phone is the TOUCH. Default launcher does not do well in touch especially while you Navigate the Menu option on the Home screen icons accidentaly open up. I had the same problem in Gingerbread. Upgrading it to 4.0.4 i thought it will perform a lot more better, But the results are same. For a better Touch experience in the Menu navigation i now use GoLauncher App which does a lot more better in the Touch, now the apps does not accidentaly open while i navigate the menu option on the home screen. But i want to use the Home launcher rather than using Golauncher app. Go launcher does not know the Sony World and now i miss all the built in features Sony has. Is there any way to fix this problem any solution. Kindly advise NikiDroid

Like to share that Sony phone ROCKS specially this one, had mine fallen from a 3 storey building, LCD facing down to solid ground, but yet this phone only had minor scratches, still WORKING PERFECTLY FINE after that incident..goes to show that Sony really makes good solid phones to last...

Its possible. I had done it. I still trying to fill my internal memory. but its still has 270+ MBs. Root ur phone. download link2sd. It ll do most of the things for u. It moves dalvik-cache, lib, apk to sd and symlink them. So its better than stock move 2 sd for many reason. And I also symlink manually whole dalvik-cache to cache partition. But its dangereous if u dont know what u are doing. link2sd method is easy and safe.

Yes, it doesn't has video call camera, the thick is 1, 6 cm. But, it can still do video call using Skype, a friend had tried called me Skype-to-Skype using notebook, I can saw his face. For 32 GB microSD I never try it. I put 16 GB microSD and it worked good.

You need to install applications like Avira Mobile Security, avast! Mobile Security, AVG Antivirus, etc. Most of those applications have mobile tracker function. They may show where your phone located is, but I think it is hard if your device is stolen and keep in somewhere or throw it in somewhere.

In fact, 'mini Sim' means the normal Sim card which you mentioned. (the other one is micro Sim) I think gsm arena should mention 'normal Sim' in specifications along with or instead of 'mini Sim, to avoid confusion

Back again to Gingerbread 2.3.4 finally is OK. I updated to 4.0.2.A.0.84 via OTA, it worked. Although the information of used RAM and free RAM not as good as in ICS (some MBs are missing). In Gingerbread, my Xperia mini shows used RAM 174 MB and free 145 MB after restart, later the free RAM will be decreased (if added some applications running in background, of course, decrease), but if we total used and free, it won't be 300 MB or more. Different when I watched running applications in ICS, where used RAM and free RAM after restart and later used for some hours, the total RAM in settings is always shows true information (total is about 335 MB). Well, for faster performance, I still refer to Gingerbread. :-)

Guys..... installing apps from play store has become very slow now..... it takes 2-3 hours for downloading details to just come to the status bar....then it starts downloading & many times it never appears in the status bar..... It was working well around 20 days back.. I don't know whether its my fone's prob or Google playstore...

It's a small device but very powerful. The hardware is the same as the HTC Desire hd but due to the lower resolution of the display is much faster because the CPU has to render many fewer pixels.

Had updated to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.857) again :-) Its internal browser is good. I found my Xperia mini RAM information after in ICS was right between used and free. When was still in Gingerbread 2.3.4 rooted, the RAM was not correctly shown, there were some MB RAM (may 50 MB or more) missing.

I experienced touch error too on my Xperia mini, so I rooted and installed Gscript Lite. If price doesn't bother you, go for like Xperia go, Xperia sola, or Xperia neo L. :-)

I would NOT strongly recommend this phone to anybody because the specs are somewhat outdated. For example, it suffers from low internal memory (less than 400MB user available) especially if you use many applications. Android apps are constantly updated which make the internal memory lower and lower. Why don't have a look at the xperia 'go' or 'sola' or some other new phones? In both these, you get 4-5 GB internal memory and both have dual core processor, ics runs better on dual cores. I suggest you make your decision based on the design of this phone; that is if you love to have a 'mini' smart phone. Looking from that aspect I say this is (or was) a masterpiece by SE. It is an excellent performer, has the bravia engine and much more. But everything becomes old and outdated. The overheating issue is present in some batches of phones, the touch buttons starts misbehaving as the phone gets heated; but definitely there is a fix for this at sony service. And about the battery life, it is bad. For a heavy user, the battery will not last till the end of the day. 4-5 hrs of music is ok, but if you do 3hrs internet, the battery will be an issue. But you can use a spare battery and an external charger to solve this.

Not all user face the problem I think. My Xperia mini got Back and Menu button error (execute itself like, I tap Settings, it back again, I scroll here, it back again). I found this problem on Google, it was said as overheating problem. This problem can be solved by rooting the smartphone and install Gscript Lite (find touchpanel.sh file on Google). Xperia mini pro has video call camera and its internal memory is 400 MB better that Xperia mini. The common lack of slide phone /smarphone I think is the flexible cable.

I had used Xperia mini for 7 months now. I got rooted again (Gingerbread 0.42). Till now this Xperia mini still works fine. I installed System CleanUp to delete some unnecessary internal applications, so no many applications that running in background. :-)

turn off network data (that's the "h" stands for hspda or something like that) thats data communication, your phones internet. wifi, internet, bluetooth and gps eats a lot of your phone battery. i keep my gps and bluetooth on for my headset and maps apps. and my phone last a little bit over than 18 hours. it can go over a day when i shut those down too. but if you want a phone that lasts more than a day.try looking for a battery thats more than 1500mah, or better yet stick to the ols style phone...non-android, the symbian ones. they last well over 3 days even with calls.

Bought mine on september 2011 still running GB...had no problem with it till aftr 2 months ,the phne overheated such that the capacitive keys operated automatically...i was so pissed ,hated my phne & wntd to replace it with another phne bt wow ths phne has a gud design...then i came here & went thru sme coments, & found out many people had the same problem.the solution mst people gave was to upgrade to ICS ,first i hesitated bcoz gb was so great & upgrading to ICS was going to reduce performance...nevertheles i did upgrade...till nw the problem has gone, the phne is so smooth & hapily enjoying it again...their is a tiny in picture quality bt thts no big deal..XPERIA MINI rocks.

Recently purchased the ST15i from eGlobal in HK. Phone came using Android 2.3... On checking out settings an onscreen msg recommended an upgrade to Android 4 which I initiated on day of purchase. The camera was working up to upgrading to A4. Since then the camera + video have not worked. Nokia lumia has no external storage.. only 4 gb internal memory,microsim... If I had bought any one of tipo or lumia 510, I would b regretting right now... Xperia mini on the other hand is a superb fone... Everything about this fone in awsm... The only cons of this fone are:- Small screen, thickness,bit outdated(bt dats not such a big deal coz it ICS....& nowadays a good fone is characterized by its O.S in first place then its build quality which is also superb here),low battery backup( which is common in all android fones)...... Hi, I got Xperia mini 10 months back. Overall its good phone apart from touch screen getting activated automatically. I upgraded to Android 4 but after upgrading 3 months ago it is again giving the same problem. First time when this problem occurred I went to service center and they installed a S/W regarding touch sensitivity. But faced problem again. If anybody had encounter this problem and got a solution for this please suggest me. I get frustrated when this happens at my work place in a meeting. Please suggest on this. Apart from this problem the performance is good.

In my case, i have unlocked all the cars, upgrades and levels on this game, and as i said im not experiencing any lag. Did u try the repair which i suggested? It really might work, though u have to bear in mind the risk of losing game data. Also, try not to install too many apps which run on the background, for it consumes ram which might be the reason for your device to lag. For instance, be sure o log out on ur social netwrking accts when not in use especially facebook.

I have to charge for 2 - 3 times in a day (mostly 3 times). I think that's normal when we use it so much. About game, for some heavy games maybe not work well. Gingerbread is still better in this smartphone in gaming.

Had this phone for about 1 year. Started ok... but after a 6 months, the phone crashes and hangs at least 2-3 times a day. Hangs during a calls.. making and receiving. The key pad gives out strange charaters when trying to send text. The phone gets hot. Many software running in the background... have difficulty to shut them. Send in twice for warranty repair. SW upgrades, etc... but still same problems. Poor quality phone... definitely do not recommend

Find a unicode tamil font. I dont know any because im not familiar with tamil. Rename it to DroidSansFallback. Replace it in system/fonts. set 644 permission. reboot. This will show tamil characters anywhere tamil unicode characters available. backup original DroidSansFallback.ttf before replacing it.

I faced the same problem with you too, where the back button and the menu button was work themselves. Yes, it was annoying cause it cancelled what we did. I rooted my Xperia mini and installed Gscript, copy the touchpanel.sh to gscript folder and I opened the Gscript app, loadedd the touchpanel.sh then touched it, my Xperia mini was reboot. The result, my Xperia mini works better and I don't face that problem anymore.

I have this xperia MINI Sony for 3 months but after using it for a months I am starting to encounter vibration problem. You cannot do anything with the phone as it keeps on returning back to main screen. It seems to have a ghost touching the screen for you. I am not recommending this product to anyone. I faced like this: After downgraded from ICS 4.1.B.0.857 to Gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.42 and rooted via flashtool, my Xperia mini got notification on update firmware. I downloaded with wifi com installed it, it shutdown and reboot again then said could not install. I tried again, but downloaded using HSDPA, installed it, reboot, it said could not install too. Because the notification can't be disappear (if I deleted the update center app maybe it can), I used flashtool again, downloaded Gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.62 ftf file before, then flashed it. The result my Xperia mini now is Gingerbread 0.62 with unrooted (the Superuser app was gone). It's OK for me become unrooted. My Xperia mini works fine.

I faced also could not install error when try to update from ICS .431 to .587. after flashed only system and baseband its updated without error. So I think u should flash .42 and root ur phone. Then first thing u have to do ota update. it should work.

Thank you for your reply. First, my Xperia mini firmware was 0.42. and rooted, I tried update using OTA, by click from Update Center icon or the notification, downloaded it. When installed, it became shutdown and reboot itself, but when the phone was switch on and already to use, these was a note: "could not install". So, I downloaded Gingerbread 0.62 ftf file, by using flashtool, I flash it (with wipe user data unchecklist), the result, worked fine. My Xperia mini is in firmware 0.62 now, but it becomes unrooted.

I had update several time from .42 to .62. It never loss root. But I had done update through ota (through phone). Only when done major updates (such as GB to ICS) it become unroot because when flashing, flashtool or pcc wiping system partition so root files (su in system/xbin and superuser.apk in system/app) will vanished. Maybe u done update through pc. I never done .42 to .62 in pc so I cant say much about that.

XPERIA MINI has NO front facing camera, so forget about video CHAT, you may be able to share what your phone's rear camera sees using Skype or fringe (needs to be confirmed) * In short, if video call does matter for you, then you have two options; either leave android and get some Nokia(symbian, bada etc) Or find a suitable Samsung android phone like GalaxyW (Thanks Samsung, at least you have a solution for those who want android and video call at the same time)

But, recently the battery life is bad, not the life is fast empty, but when the battery life reach for example 16%, 17%, or 18%, I use it a little, there was notification that tell me battery remains 1% or less, after that, it switch off. That's the known issue of the xperia mini. What I advise is.. (based on my personal experience) upgrade your phone to ICS thru PC companion. Now, I'm enjoying my fast and smooth scrolling xperia mini. :)

Hello , I m partho from west bengal . ,Now m going to review this phone .According to me Se LWW wt19i is a better option . Because it has a larger display ,better sound ,better battery Backup and some others too. And the vibration of soft touch buttons are a software problem , which will be repaired at a Sony service center .I purchased this phone about a week ago and after purchase of 3 days it goes hotter and hanged some time .So I go to a service center and they tell me that it has a software problem which all of the 2011 series . Just install Sony PC Companion (download from www.sonymobile.com) on PC, plug your Xperia mini with USB cable to PC (connectivity in Mass Transfer Protocol/MTP), wait if the Sony PC Companion is downloading when its launched, later Xperia mini will be recognized and there is a new system update appear if available at the top. Click that sentence then update. The process update will take some minutes.

I've been a user of Nokia phones for the last so many years and this was my second smartphone (first was a windows mobile phone) and second Sony Ericsson phone (first was a T230). The build quality is superb. It has the most perfectly balanced price/performance/features. When I initially purchased (without warranty) around May 2012, it came with GB. I subsequently upgraded to stock Sony ICS, then unlocked booloader via test point method and have tried out a few ICS and JB ROMS, entirely to my satisfaction. To the detractors of this phone, I would say, you will not find a better phone with better features at this price point and if you still have issues with this phone you don't deserve this phone nor does this phone deserve YOU!

I don't think so, the specification doesn't say USB-on-the-go. For the modem's set I don't know exactly. While for office and photo editor, you can instal third party applications. For office, I instal Office Suite Pro HD. Taking or capture photos are about 10 seconds or more from beginning activate the camera. I like this smartphone too because of its design and features. For gaming, it can handle well. :-)

I had this fon for 4 months.it worked flawlessly until recently it started misbehaving, its now extremely difficult to power on the device simply because it wont unlock, you swipe the unlock button to the right n its goes back to the left .wen by chance it unlocks it wont hold on to the pin code window for more than 5 sec before locking the screen again.U have to try at least 10 times n be extremely fast wen entering sim pin. The touchresponse is good enough. No problem at all. For gaming is very good too, but if you had upgraded lo Android 4.0, some games may not work well (Gingerbread is still better). About music is good too, it has xLOUD to increase volume.

hii..i bought MINI 4months before...though it has small screen its a great ph..it supports everything that I download..bt it doesnt support mkv format..bt u may download mx player pro..then u can play mkv videos..video quality is good..picture clarity is gud.bt battery back up is one of the demerite of MINI..it also has ram problem..user available free ram is aprox 230 mb which is too low..so upgradation to 4.0 is needed..then after it runs well..except these problems its a cute & handy phone..:-)

upgraded to android 4.1 jelly bean and working fine. stand by time is bit low, battery only lasts for about one day. the small screen size makes it bit hard when you're typing.except for that, xperia mini is satisfying as a smartphone.

Typical problem of unresponsive touch screen in Xperia Mini. They never really could get rid of that pb, probably because the phone is so small the components are too much crammed and heated inside the phone. Go to Sony Service Center for recalibration of the screen. And next time you want to buy a phone read about it before, it's all over the internet.

For YouTube, if I stream using Opera Mobile 12 and Firefox 16, they will bring me to YouTube app. For Metacafe and Dailymotion, Firefox 16 can't be used for stream the videos directly from its browser, just black screen on the videos, while Opera Mobile 12 can stream it well on Metacafe, but can't stream on Dailymotion, it said media format not supported. Using custom roms is not gonna make much difference, especially if you use too many applications. Because ICS is more suited for dual cores with 1GB RAM like the nexus. SE knew this by the time they upgraded to ics and they let their customers know this too, through official forums. However they kept their promise of ics upgrade to 2011 xperia phones; that's all. Anyhow if you are satisfied with the performance, hang on to ics and if you are not, then revert to the STABLE GINGERBREAD which has more application support also. Many of the UI improvements in ics can be achieved in gb with 3rd party apps. An auth. service center will help you downgrade.

I dont think so. First nokia symbian phone sucks. my brother got c6-01 which got the same os like their flagship phone n8. Its got flv not playback issue about a year. they cant download a player because there is no any player outthere. They got severe app shortage and software issues. You can enjoy a good service support with a cra p phone. This is not a insult, just user experience. Overheating fixable without Service center. In our country theres no service center and I got the same overheating issue long ago. finally have to say u just loss, best phone in this price range in my opinion

I have a lots of problem on this phone the battery life now takes only less than a day to use even with a minimal usage a try to used battery saving apps but still not enough, another problem is wifi connection im using an expensive cisco router evry morning i had a good connection but when it comes night time i had no connection at all but my galaxy mini 2 has connection, another problem is launching apps is very slow even this phone is clocked at 1 ghz and i felt that it is just an 600 mhz bcoz of very slow loading apps but i just have only a few apps bcoz of a very low internal memory. PLEASE FIXED THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

this phone automatically calibrates meaning the back and the more(menu buttons) are triggered automatically. its very annoying. you cant use for more than 5 mins(if u r lucky enough. downgrading the phone`s firmware and rooting ll help u solve this problem(read in a blog). i ve given my phone to service for this problem. otherwise this mini is supercool.

I have this phone for 11 months now and very good phone indeed. Got the overheating problem for the first few months but after having the service centre calibrated it, it has done a great job ever since. Though after updating it to ICS, lagging occurs. Preferred the Gingerbread version but ICS isn't that bad. This worth the money. ^^

Yes, I agree with you. This phone is very good in specification, small design, can handle HD games (but, in ICS no many HD games supported, some will force close). My phone isn't rooted too.

This phone has very many things about it that I love! However, in the last 9 months I have had it in for repair because of a very common overheating issue and now I have to do it again. The touchscreen goes crazy and the phone gets impossible to use, even unlock and turning on and off! In addition, all my information and apps gets deleted by the time they've fixed it. I wish SE could find a solution to the problem or make a new phone where the issue is gone or I will have to get a phone that doesn't let me down every 4 months.

Well, i have the mini for 1 year now so,let me say you something about it! ;). This phone is the best buy for this price range if you're looking for a pocket-rocket that isnt expensive. It's processor and gpu can handle all hd games (except ones that are for Tegra,or were made firstly for tegra,then for adreno, like TrainzDriver ;( ). It havent broke down even once,so thats good. I didnt rooted my phone,and i have Offical ICS. This phone doesnt look cheap,like other phones with similar price, build quality and design are quite good. Yes,its quite old, but still can beat lot of new phones like LG's L7 that is 5 times more expensive. If you want to buy it,go ahead! :).

One thing i notice bout Sony Ericssin mobiles phone they have very poor and unstable WIFI connection it sucks! Unlike the mid range Samsung phones outperforms Sony's WIFI connectivity...

Re:overheating/keys malfunction/vibration issue.. You just need to spend half an hour at any authorised SE service center pal.. It is a known issue and all SE auth.service have got directions for the calibration fix. The problem will be solved for ever.

Sony Ericsson Xperia mini is better than HTCs you mentioned. They are still use 600 MHz CPU and GPU Adreno 200. While Sony Ericsson Xperia mini uses 1 GHz CPU and GPU Adreno 205. So far using this phone very well, browsing internet so fast and works fine for me. No all mobile phones are perfect .

What the game did you mean? When my phone was still in Gingerbread, I can play Eternal Legacy HD with no problem. But, when my phone was updated to Ice Cream Sandwich, the game didn't support. Maybe not all HD will work on this phone. Some days ago, I installed Backstab HD, when I would like to open it, it showed "this app doesn't support for this device. Please refund".

Dont buy the xperia mini instead choose from galaxy mini 2 or live wth walkman bcoz my brother has an xperia mini and the wifi was not working properly, also when he switch to 3g network the internet was very slow. My phone was galaxy mini 2 and it was incredibly fast no lags even when i played temple run, subway surfer and cs portable, the internet browser was also fast and whats more samsung will upgrade my mini 2 to jelly bean

Sony Ericsson Xperia mini is better than those you mentioned. It has 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 512 MB RAM and Adreno 205 GPU. Works well in gaming and fast enough. I have not face hang yet in using this phone.

xperia mini is better than tipo, but the problem is that xperia mini is not available in the market. I have used both & i like xperia mini. And also the cost of mini is more than tipo, obviously it is better. Almost all the features are same of both cellphones. But in mini has some additional features and its camera quality is far better than tipo. Yeterday i have purchased mini but 1 problem was there related to vibration. So, I returned it back and replaced with tipo because there was only 1 mini. If the xperia mini in available in good condition, you can go with sony Ericsson xperia mini... All the best

Hi, in my opinion: 1. You can go for Xperia U, better than Xperia mini, but lack of microSD slot or you can choose Xperia ray. 2. My Xperia mini is Android 4.0.4 now, still work fine for some applications and some games. But, Adobe Flash is gone after update it and some Android games might be won't work. It still smooth moving, but a little lack, overall is OK. 3. For texting is comfortable for me in portrait display, but rather not comfortable when in landscape (QWERTY). This will depend on yourself. 4. The camera is good enough (I can't say much about camera, I'm not concern in camera) and sound quality is good, without xLOUD checklist, the sound is low Hope this can give a description.
