well i really liked my yari, i had this for 3 years with no issue, and even the ribbon is still intact, didnt send it to repair at all, droped it ten times. but its solid as steel...i do want a martphone, but cannot afford it...i am look for SE NEO V its not the phone, its the way you use it... updated the softwrae last night..love it..... loyal FAN of SE ..all model....cheers guys

had this phone for a year +++ and during that period of time the phone gave me lots of technical AND networking problems. it factory reset itself as well so it was my most painful experience with SE phones.. ever. the only reason why i got it in the first place was because i was running on a tight budget, and 'cos it's the design the attracted me. so i guess lesson learned - never ever buy a phone just based on its design alone.

Worst phone i ever had..i am huge fan of SE and have been using there phone from past 8 years ,but never had this type of experience. Yari(u100i) worked fine for first three months only then it had some ic related issue, my side keys stopped working. the customer service in mumbai for SE is shit!!! they say they don't have parts available in here and they send phone to chenai for repairing. wheni got my pone back from service center after long wait of 4 months it was in very bad condition , they didn't even extended my warranty of that for months . after five months i still got same problem..:( but as i mention earlier i m true fan of SE i am looking forward to buy Xperia RAy now. hope it better . DONT BUY YARI.

worst phone ever.although it has 5 mp camera but pic and video is colorless.flush don't work properly,light flushed before shot.main prob is network.it has d worst internal antena which is under the battery.when other phone has full network,yari shows only 1 or 2 network bar.so i request you plz don't buy this phone.besides hang,slow are common prob of yari.

I just bought my Yari on the 15th of May 2011 and i am telling you it freezes, the screen goes black out of the blue when you are busy with it, you charge it in the morning for 3 hours, by 20H00 the same day the battery is 1/4 to die, it takes a lot i mean a lot of time to open documents. I AM SO SO SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PHONE, to think that it has everything that you would want in a phone, i'm not impressed at all!!!!!!!!

Hi, i'm currently using this yari, with 8gb microsd high capacity that I get from my previous phone prebundled package inserted, its nokia 5730 express music by the way, but lately my phone keep deleting songs in my music player itself, from 705 files only 267 left, it happen a lot, i've tried to format the memory card but same things still happen, is it because I inserted a nokia memory card? i just borrowed this phone for few hours and i felt that its waste to invest in this cell if u are a hard core msgholic guy like me. the keys dont work well for faster typing and camera is not of cyber shot quality and the processor is very slow over all the cell is nice but features are not that great any ways i was said that anaroid and xperia series phones are really good so go for it guys

you can easily turn off the predictive text from the messaging options, dont remember exactly as the phone's not with me right now but yeah, try exploring your phone and you should be sweet.

you might have to check if that theme is compatible, try powercycling your device. if need be, check for themes from SE and see if they work or not. see if an upgrade is available for the phone's software for it to be compatible with the themes that you are trying to use. if nothing works then check out the SE forum, i m sure you would get your answer.

yes mate, the 2ndary camera is for video calling. once you open the application, you would have a menu option to directly enter your phonebook and choose the mobile number with whom you want to do video calls. for rates, contact your service provider.

Sony Ericsson Yari, I've had this phone for a year now and all I can say is it's a great phone. No exaggeration here, I dropped it more than 20 times and it still works great. But after a while, after maybe 25 times of dropping it, and getting it wet, (I often drop it on the bathroom floor.) the LCD kinda had a problem. But it lasted a year without problems, so I recommend you to buy it. It's a great companion. Very.

The Yari really is a good phone. I can't complain about much, even though there is something wierd about the phone...the stupid prodictive text. It's just not normal and the word suggestion list that one can't hide, it is so irritating. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING????? Maybe they must have a software upgrade available so that some of us can hide the stupid word list, and maybe they can improve on the predictive text feature. After all, there's nothing wrong with the normal T9 that SE has been using all along.

dont compare hazel with yari... yari is far far better than hazel...... the image size is very low in hazel when compared to hazel.... also sound quality is low in hazel....

I am using the mobile since one year, I was faced lot problems with this mobile like buttons not working and when i contact famous customer care (Which can be treat as worrest customer care i ever faced) they given me the mobile after 10 days says problem with the internal card and we replaced the card but same problem i faced for three times, and they replay me that SWETTING (I DONT KNOW HOW ALL OTHER WORKING)entering into the mobile you need to cover the mobile with other covers (OR EVEN SPARES) which are almost not availbale with sony or IN MARKET.

Camera comparison(elm/hazel and yari)::- Camera of yari is has better and larger lens and sensor than elm/hazel similar to cybershot 5mp mobile camera. In bright sunny days elm/hazel takes more sharpe and better pictures than yari. But when it comes to indoor or low light condition yari is very good but with some/heavy noise.elm and hazel are almost useless in low light or indoor with very dark photos(we cant see the subject at all) and with very weak led flash no improvement. Also there are orange and blue lines in low light shots in elm/hazel when we increase contrast/brightness in low light. Led Flash is strong in yari. Focusing is faster in yari. Most of the time we dont need flash in low light in yari(with twilight landscape/portrait) . Sometime with led flash in yari closer or macro shots are washed out. Macro or close shots are better in yari with real color. Yari photos are not sharp as elm/hazel and less details in bright lighting condition. But overall yari camera is very good with strong led flash but sometime color and contrast are low.so its better to edit. I can clearly say that yari is low light leader compared to current mobiles in similar category including of nokia and samsung (except n73 n82 n86 n8).. Video recording is very good but again color are weak. Again in low light where elm/hazel cant see what is in front of it, yari can take video pretty good(with low color and contrast)

Sony is and will always be a pioneer in releasing new tech. It released walkman phone and everybody started making music phones. So dont comment about sony.

I HATE THIS FREAKING PHONE. GOSH ITS SO EFFING SLOW ITS ANNOYING ME!!! When i'm texting someone, and another text is coming in, the whole phone will lag for awhile before letting me text again, like wtf? and now the phone has screwed up on me, when i flipped the phone down to lock, it turns either blue, yello or those rainbow curly lines in the whole screen. ABSOLUTE PANTS, DONT EVEN CONSIDER!! Im stuck with this crap for an 18 month term, I did continue to use my C902 until it broke because it was a far superior phone, MUCH nicer to use. Yari lacks signal, crap to text with (buttons are badly positioned, horrible to text one handed and they have an EXTREMELY annoying predictive system unlike the usual T9 dictionary. It lacks way too many features for what it is and the price it was. If your looking at this phone, buy a C902 instead!!

yes, yari has megabass equaliser but no manual equaliser.. not all yari users have the same hardware problems.. it is based on how you handle the phone.. (i've never faced any keypad issues since i bought it)

Hi all.. I've been using yari since January.. It's a gud phone for people dat like entertainment.. It has an an excellent loudspeaker, the headphone provided with it is also very good (almost as gud as Walkman headphone), the camera is not really great, the colour of the pic it produced is low, u shud edit the pic after u tranfer it to your computer. However,t the camera does a very gud gob for recording.. Sometimes, there is a problem with the signal, but sometimes it does the best job compared to other phones. For eg, while I'm in the lift, people cannot call me, but with my yari I can accept their call.dats impressed me.. Keypad is quite flat, but it is suitable for people dat have smaller fingers.. I've dropped my phone for about 7-9 times, but the phone still works like the first tym I used it. .. Overall, Avery gud phone, but it will be better if it has wifi and doc viewer.. Thanx:-)

well i used to be a very big fan of SE since i bought my first phone k750i, the phone was excellent except the joystick problem.Later i purchased w960i which always had touch screen problem even after these bad experiences i foolishly bought yari in this jan and since then the phone was giving some or the other lind of trouble u wud b surprised to hear that my phone has been lying in the service centre frm the past 3mnths.it has keypad problem,slider problem and even some major problems.i totally lost faith in the company nd i have shifted to samsung which re far better phones

Their is no option to icrease the mega bass but i bought new head phone supports ericsson model HPM 82 it also as volume, pause play, next previous controls. Price is 450 and the result is awesome

just change the network settings manually from your phone from 3g to 2g and powercycle ur handset. u shud be able to find noticeable difference in reception. if its still not helping out, try doing an isolation test, use the sim at the same location in a different 3g phone. try doing a sim replacement, shud help u, if not then i am not sure if its a genuine network problem due to ur phone or u do not have enough towers in ur proximity! i am yari user in NZ over vodafone network and i have no coverage related issues.

Dude I am also having endless reception problems with the Yari and this is the second one. I cant leave it in my pocket or the a pouch it looses signal in full coverage areas. I am a die hard SE man but I hate the reception on the yari it pathetic.

raj YOu do not require 3g to for gprs. Its a setting which is provided to u by ur service provider like i am using idea so the settings are provided by idea . you just need to go to seeting connections and internet settings to manually configure it.

Hello, i bought this phone (yari/U100i) Six month back and it was only 4 months when the right keypad stopped working and i took it too service center which took 40 days to repair it and after using it for less than a month after the first repair now the bottom keys have stopped working.So yes the features worths it's price but when you will use it you will never want it again. So i would suggest keep yourself away from this phone as this is the issue with the Yari as i am not the only one who have similar issue with the phone .My other 2 friends too had the same issue and they end up running to service center just like me. So this phone do not worth it's price at last and never fall for it friends. This is my personal experience and i have decided to never purchase sony Ericsson phone again in my life as their service is worst. Rest you can decide yourself.

The camera is very good but u may find the video camera is better than the still camera. The headphone provided wit the phone is ok but if u want to feel the true potential of the music player u have to buy hpm70 and the audio quality is so good tat u will never use the earphone provided wit the set.

Well I am using the phone for about 6 months now. The phone has very interesting features and the battery life is good (at the first two months I could have it for 4-5 days without recharging). However there are features that could have be designed better such us: 1. The camera lens. Well the worst thing is that the lens is really small. Thus there is a problem when it is covered with dust or dirt which is something really common: It is really hard to clean the lens (I use an ear-stick when it is available - when I am home) and the photos get blurry. It's like you are shooting behind a filthy glass. Moreover I didn't like the flash function which doesn't give you the option to use manually the flash (It's either automatic or no-flash). Believe me there are times that the automatic feature dosen't work well. 2. The keypad. I agree with most of the people that are disappointed by it. Just read other comments about this. And NO. It's not a malfunctioning as some people are trying to imply claiming that their keypad is good. To my opinion the keypad design just sucks (You have to slide your fingertip all over the keypad in order to distinguish by touch the right key, and thw 1,2,3 buttons are too close to the above "slide pice" of the phone). I cannot imagine how this phone can be used from a guy with fat fingers.... 3. The responsiveness. The phone is slow. The start up time, the responsiveness to the commands are significantlly slow compared to the K750i I used to have...I hope it can be fixed with a software upgrade. 4. The 2 xtra shortcut buttons that are on the top of the screen: THEY ARE NOT CUSTOMIZABLE !!!!!! They both lead you to the games directory and that's the end of it!!!! I've called SE and they Why? Just why SE did that for? To my opinion this clearly states that SE didn't want to make a good phone. SE wanted to make an "impressive" phone for users that don't pay much attention to the details....

iam using Yari for the past 4-5 months..i just have a problem in which after forwarding a message, the message which i actually forwarded gets blinking till again i pressed the view option and sometimes the message wont be there but instead of that there's a blank space in that place...Sometimes this mobile gets hanged up though iam not performing multitasking and i have to remove the battery so as to make it work properly again...But the above problems occurs only occasionally...Apart from that this mobile is good having a good cam quality and the motion gaming also works great...Is there any software updatation available for yari

I cannot get more than 3.5 days standby time. I have emailed Sony,who just told me to reduce screen brightness etc, which made no sicnificant difference. The keypad is not very positive as there seems to be a small dip below each number, which leads to keying in the number or letter above the one you want. I don't know if any other user found this a problem, but i much prefer the seperate key format. All in all, very dissappointed with it. Can anyone get more than 4 days standby? Ihave even bought a new battery, which made no difference.

Hi, pls dont think tat all the yari phones have the same keypad problem as u do bcos I am using the phone from 6 months and not even a single problem. Ur set might b a defective one. And people dont buy d phone just bcos it has motion gaming but buy it for the fact tat it is a very good phone in other features. Use an original walkman head phone and d sound quality is just amazing.,u can check out gsmarena's review of the sound quality urself. The cam is very good if u hold it still.

I have yari and it has a very good camera. D manual focusing wit camera button sometimes does not give good pics but if v press t d pad middle button d pic quality is good. The video recording is superb. The music quality through d headset provided wit the fone is gud, but wit Walkman headphone the music quality is just amazing and brilliant.The bass sounds very good

I bought the yari 2 weeks back. The phone is just mindblowing.i had a k810 before even it was super. I really miss d flash but d flash Is quite powerful. Pls read d audio quality of yari review in tis site so u can get in idea of d super audio quality. D sound in hpm 70 is superb and amazing. D motion gaming is also good and it makes tis phone different from other phones. Battery life is also good. The camera is satisfactory but d video recording is superb. D phone also looks very good compared 2 other sliders.

on full charge.. it wud go for 2 to 2.5 days for me with nominal calling/txting and above avrg usage for email and games.. i spend around 3 hrs daily on the latter. cam quality is avrg.... contrast ratio not tht gud and therefore hav 2 use fotofix everytym (which doesnt bother me)... shooting pics in nite tym su x tho .. eventho its got LED flash... it just doesnt help videos r also pretty clear and the sound on it is crisp as well.. i m a budget user and therefore this fone is OK for me but if u r more buzzed up on having gud cam features then u can choose not to go for this phone cheers

Be wary of buying this phone. Have got the phone and its keypad started giving issues in 4 months. Currently, my phone is with the service center for over a month. And still they tell me to expect it only after one week (Actually this is what they tell me everytime I call them)! And that too not confirmed. Have found many other Yari phones have similar issue and are with service centers for an awful amount of time. Many have found the issues to prop up again after first servicing. Numerous of my mails to their Sony have not received any attention. Loved my phone when I first saw it and I got in my hands. But now spend precious time listening to the service center folks blabber. Worried if I'll ever get my phone back :( Any one has suggestions to deal with this grievance kindly share...

hi... any YARI user from INDIA. I am facing a peculiar issue with my YARI. I have installed many apps(gmail,go talk,orkut,facebook,snaptu,ngpay,opera mini,dictionary,mguard,way2sms,youtube).All the apps running fine (mobile office AIRTEL) except ngpay. while connecting it gives me connection error. Also contacted ngpay customer care,follwed their procedure,but no luck till now. Can u pls help me out with this issue. Ngpay is running fine on my W700I(SAME MOBILE OFFICE connection).

rohan it's better you go for yari. hazel has too many hardware problems while yari has only quiet a little software problems which can be rectified by the company in the upcoming firmwares. consider the lack of wi-fi in yari if you are living in a wifi network. normal people dont need them they only use gprs

Guys please compare Yari n Hazel. I know Yari lacks two things: Wifi n 0.2" screen size. I dont mind the difference. Also i know that Yari has much much better audio levels on the external speakers. So, the only differentiator remains is the camera. I can make this out from the reviews of both the phones: 1) Hazel shows a white spot on the subject of the picture (some focussing problem). 2) Yari has no contrast settings so the photos are dull. Also, there were more posts on network reception problem in Hazel's reviews than in Yari's reviews. So, which one of Yari n Hazel has a better camera? Finally, which one should i buy (the price difference is almost negligible)??

@Anon Yari is the best in this price range. Yari has better features than Hazel (except that hazel is wifi enabled) and definitely better looks than Hazel. @Aivy1681 Camera is amazing if you can handle it properly. If you dont set it properly, the picture will definitely get messed up. And as far as the signal reception issue is concerned, i wont completely deny the fact that it is true but still on the whole, complete thumbs up. @Nadia Will update you on your issue soon. But I dont think it can be done.

Yari is much better. If you are switching from a SE Walkman phone you can use the noise cancellation headsets which has a 3.5mm jack. 5MP camera with photo light, image stabilizer and 30fps video recording. The stereo speakers gives out really smooth sound. Has 3G and browsing is fast. Shake control and MEGA BASS audio preset. Good battery life.

Yeah wi-fi is useful if you have a hotspot, otherwise, it's useless, but if you have a 3g phone, atleast you can use it as a modem, or even surf in it if your, telco is cheap, as for Yari, it doesn't have any Wi-Fi, but if you can spend a little bit more, why not get the Aino, or Satio or even better Vivaz with HD recording^-^

I own a nokia 5530 and all i can say is that, it's pretty much an average phone, nothing special bout it, but it does serve all your need in the music department, like a 3.5mm headjack sure comes in handy, the bummer part of the phone is that the screen is not capacitive, tho it doesn't really need a lot of force to input your text like the LG Cookie which is a handfull, As for Yari, it does lack the 3.5mm headjack, but it's a slider, which makes it fancy, and it's also good if you wanna waste your time waiting by playing games, im also looking into buying it cause of it's price, not to mention the 5MP camera which is surprising good, not saying that the Nokia camera is, but could done it better, tho it's not a Carl Zeiss lens which is a bummer, but im not sure bout the Yari Video, last time i've use a Sony ericsson camera the video quality sucks, but if you're not the type of person who is cautious of that, then Yari FTW, cause nokia isn't worthwhile, but there are other factor, connectivity, i always thought that having a wi-fi would be cool, when you can access free internet over wi-fi, if you're surrounded by it it's not a problem, but i rarely used it at my school especially when they lock it, thus wi-fi is not much use if it's a locked connection, anyway, if you're using Yari, and you wanna use the internet for your laptop or computer, you can use it as a modem with 3g which the Nokia 5530 lacks, Overall, the nokia is good mostly on music, the speaker is good but not the best, really like the stereo sound, im not sure how the Yari will be but you can check youtube and see what they have to say, but this is just my opinion, don't take seriously on it, have more options.

new netfront browser is effective(depends mainly on ur connection type). but HAZEL is a better phone than YARI. picture clarity is ok in yari but not like HAZEL. Also Wifi is an added advantage.. hazel has larger scratch resistance screen . if interested for highend phone then chck experia x10 and vivaz..

Hi, This phone is really worth the price. It has awesome Music Quality (beats Walkman). Keypad maybe a problem for frequent sms senders. It has a very GOOD camera too. Here's a little trick for people having LOW CONTRAST issues with photos: 1) Switch on the Camera 2) First take a photo of a spot (for future reference) 3) Now, select "Portrait" Mode and then again Switch back to "Auto" mode, let the camera settle (it'll take 5-6 sec) 4) Then, again take a photo of the same spot and try comparing the old one and the new one. You'll see that applying this trick improves the contrast. Try it! Regards

If you think the sound from W395 speaker is "great" than i have no idea what would you say with the sound quality of Yari thru headsets. Gsm arena only said it's great and flawless, close to iphone 3GS except its loudness. If you looking for great sound quality from a phone, you would never found it if you enjoy it from external speakers. Get nokia or original china phones if you want "great" speaker's sound, go for sony ericsson and enjoy the real great sound quality.

How to make good photos 1. Light ur subject well If possible shoot outside or turn on the light when shooting inside. Beware that artificial light (indoors) impact the color cast and u might 1 2 experiment with white balance to fix it 2. Get close to ur subject 3. Keep still, this is especially important in low light situation, where the cam will select longer shutter speed to compensate the lack of light 4. Avoid using digital zoom 5. Do some experiments with white balance (see #1) 6. Practice makes perfect, take loads of shots and experiments 7. Keep the lens clean, use glasses cleaning cloth if possble 8. Edit image later on ur pc better than with cam phone's inbuilt editing

Can anyone tell me which of the Ericsson phones supports skype (not just chat ). The skype site has a list of Nokia phones and only the xperia 2 listed and few samsungs. Even through nimbuz and fring it seems impossible to find a decent list. Already returned the new Yari becuase it didn't support. Loved the tactile feel and display of the Yari though. Camera wasn't great even though its 5 Megapixel (right now i use the old k850, which is better i suppose since it's cybershot). overall nice design, and handles quite friendly.

Hi all yari users.. after lots of R&D purchased YARI... GREAT PHONE BY SE.. --features i love-- 1-display is stunning,battery back up is good(3 days for general usage). 2-camera picture is neat,videos not tried till now. 3-Signal reception is good,no random change in signal bar( poor signal reception as some users complained in this blog. 4-music as usual is up to the mark. 5-new web browser is well designed(though opera is superior). 6-lots of nice games. 7-I have no complaint regarding flat keypad. fatures i hate- 1-no full version gps sotware. 2-charging/USB port on top left side(fells bad when listening music). 3-no manual option in equalizer(really missing this feature),hope SE will add this feature in upcoming updates. Overall rating 9/10.

Yari has advanced camera option. Just like ordinary digital camera, you must configure this option (contrast, white balance, etc) for the best photo result. It's ok if your Yari network show poor signal. Yari has strong internal antenna, even the signal only show 1 bar, I can still calling and receiving with crystal clear voice!

Absolutely Yari is better! Yari has stereo speakers (2 speakers on the back of the phone). I don't know Yari sound quality through headset compare with W705 and W810. The best way to choose is you must go to selular shop and hear the sound quality of Yari, W705 and W810.

W705 doesn't have stereo speaker. If you love powerfull bass, try Yari Megabass. But if you love clean-crisp bass, try W705 Clearbass!

i have tested with airtel gprs(mobile office).. Buffering happenes each 4/5 second,,it takes time to load videos..not that great.. it's akin to watching videos in youtube with slow net connection..

Im about to buy AINO, but unfortunately its been always out of stock due to its demand, here in manila. due to lack of patience i decided to buy a phone already,im thing of w995 but unfortunately out of stock as well,so i went to w705, which has wifi, but they dont have the color that i want so they offered the YARI/KITA , no WIFI, but has superb quality in sound and camera, love the games, im just dissapointed due they took out photo dj and video dj, which i ussually use to edit my photo and mix my videos stand alone, but so far im happy with it. yet im still planning on getting AINO, after by bday eheh ^_^

Camera quality of yari is almost same as n95 in good light condition but at low light condition like in inside room or at evening n95 is better than yari.and also while using yari camera you have use it with proper settings.in yari most of the time auto setting wont give good pictures. Camera interface of yari is way advanced than n95. there is no "best pic" option in yari like in other cyber shot series phone. Video captured are good but at low light condition again n95 is better. Hardware and lens used in n95 is superior than yari. Yari is not cyber shot mobile.

Yari review Design: slider is smooth and well constructed.buttons are very soft to press.upper two selection keys not comfortable. Screen: very good clarity, color and brightness. Call quality: good voice clarity and speaker phone is also good. Signal reception: is good but avoid holding phone in antenna area while on call.antenna is in just below battery. Music:very good audio clarity.you cant find better Bass effects than sony. All sony equilizer presets are present but we cant create our own.provided headphone is of good quality and can easily satisfy average music lover. stereo speaker have good audio clarity but loadness is moderate. Camera:very good but photos are pale in color and contrast. But not a problem we can edit it in any photo editor software.flash is good compared to other led flashes.you can also use it as a tourch. Battery life: max 3 days. Browser: very good compared to other feature phones.but cant beat smart phones browser.opera mini loads and runs fast. Games: play any type of games with additional motion and gesture games.navigation keys are big and good for games. Software or OS: very stable, fast and no crashes. Yes you can compare it with walkmans..you won't miss your k530 ofcourse..if you r really a music lover..if its essential part of your life..i suggest you to buy a handsfree which comes with W series (in-ear type) e.g. HPM-70 ...but again..this in-ear kind handsfree can damage your hearing very early..so..don't listen it at full volume..keep 2-3 bars low..enjoy the sweetness and clearity..you won't find it anywher else..just don't worry buddy..music quality through handsfree is tooo good..

having youtube application..you don't need to open website from your mobile browser..so its like a totally seprate youtube for you only..you have to sigh in once only..then everytime it will remember your id..interface is also good..you can directly upload ur videos from mobile easily..and yeah..it also saves every keyword you searched on youtube..and I think searching is faster here instead of opening from mobile browser..

1. Camera Quality - Camera lens is far deep inside from the surface, making sure that no scratches will be there cause of reguler usage..but the problem is at the end of every day you will find dust on ur camera lens..so you will try to clear it with some cloth but as it is deep..you will need to put extra efforts which may result in scratches after long time..just be careful with it..my solution..good quality fully transparent plastic coating above camera lens..pictures taken with it..are not as good as it should be..contrast is missing..but "Photo Fix" option is there to use..so don't worry. LED is also bright but I miss Samsung jet which was able to take picture in full dark, I never use digital zooming as i think its useless and other options like panaroma..smile shot are working very nicely, won't be a problem in outdoor sunlight photos..and indoor..just make sure the light is good if you don't wanna edit.. 2. Sound quality....good good good good good..use nice walkman series handsfree and replace and forget your music player.. 3. I don't know the model number of the bundled handsfree cause I just used it once and put it back and using HPM-70 now..which may cost you around Rs. 450-500 ..bass effect is very good..but be careful..don't listen at full volume..it may damage ur ears earlier than ur age.. 4. Brosing speed...I think it depends on your operator..I use Airtel Mobile Office and it works very fine at good speed for me...that you tube application is very handy.. 5. Video clarity..again depends how you converted your videos..in which resolution..if you convert it in the same resolution as your mobile screen figures..it will be fine..i am having some 18-19 good resolution videos and it plays flawlessly..screen and processing speed is very good..just convert your videos properly..and you can enjoy it very much.. 6. keypad..ahh..its little bit awkward if you are used to use keypad with raised keys..but I think our fingers always set themselves after sometime to whatever kind of keypad we use..i tried in different conditions..like with big raised nails..without nails..don't worry.your fingers will find its way to type nicely on its own after some days usage..that also includes those 2 tiny keys above call keys.. 7. User interface..well..not at all any problem..not much change from other models..reguler..with some added animation effects..themes are good.. 8. Clarity of pics taken at night..as I said before the LED is not enough powerfull to take very good pics in "Very" dark circumstances.. If wanna know anything else..just ask me..will reply ASAP... Overall..luking at its current price..Its a sure shot very good deal..

Well alright because so many users have been requesting this I will give a small review of what I have experienced with the Yari. Looks/design: First and foremost the phone looks totally different in the different color solutions, the more beautiful one I found was the cranberry white one, it's so unique and eye catching reminds a bit of the beauty of K660i in the white and green edition. you will most certainly stand out! -in a good way. Screen: very nicely done seems to have increased brightness and clarity slightly if to compare with W995 for example on the same level as the Aino speed /performance: Very fast and again seems to be a step ahead of C905 and the likes animations play more smoothly And just to be clear yari has higher flash support just like Aino, so putting on flash themes from other models is currently impossible and vice versa I'm afraid, but with time I'm sure they will find another program that does the job. As for games and camera and sound -(speakers- because it has two) I will make an extra part two and for any questions about the above mentioned information just post a comment here in the opinions section hope I cleared up a few things.

I replaced bundled handsfree with walkman series (HPM-70) handsfree and ... advice to every 'Yari'onwer to do this only if you want to hear the real sound of 'Yari'.. Anybody pls tell me if TV-out cable is available for this handset.. (India) because I think playing motion senson games will be more fun on big screen.

hi every one I got this mobile for Rs.12,100 at "the mobile store" about a month ago. This is my first hipriced mobile(my previous one cost just 1 thousand bucks ;P ) I had been hesitating to invest a lot in mobiles so always prefered digicams,Playstations and ipods than mobiles. But my first risk seems worthy :) it has a attractive display, camera quality-both pic n video, processing speeds(never hung so far) GPS is amazing, so nokia users never comment on this ;) On the other hand, keypad is not really comfortable for fast texting, Dont think this is the best sound from sony mobiles and not so impressive battery backup, signal reception can be annoying sometimes But overall, If u dont go deep into forests or work in a stone mine or lathe its still the best option for Rs.12k :)

Some more of my experiences with my new YARI (love the name) --One odd feeling is with the two white soft keys above call keys as they are very small, but after 3 days i started getting used to with it... --Me myself is a multimedia monster in terms of usage..lots of songs..movies..youTu..radio..thousands of pictures..etc..on my 8 GB card..explored through all..Yari never hanged.. --the large circular D-pad is really very good to use.. --Typing very fast for SMSers...will be a bit difficult for some days..but then it will be very very easy..its also having predictive text input..also remembers what i typed previously..and shows in typing new messages.. (this feature was in my Xperia X1) --Audio quality as I said before..mindboggling..superb..fantastic..the inbuilt stero speakers are enough loud..I thrown away my sony small stereo speakers.. --one very good surprise was GPS..i used GPS in my N85 and Xperia and Samsung Jet..and i started thinking that GPS can't work in indoor areas..Yari prooved my wrong.. --bye bye. may be some other things later on..

Does the Sony Ericsson Yari has proper zoom. It says it has got 4x zooom and 5 megapixel camera. But is it possible to zoom the camera to 4x with 5mp itself. or will this mobile camera zoom to 4x only at VGA mode? Super sound quality, great camera, brilliant video recording, NO PROBLEM WITH KEYPAD, keypad isn't hard, its really soft & there's no keypad sound while messaging.. I would suggest that u buy the phone.. In India the price is around 12k.. Buy it from Sony centre's at ur city because they give the lowest price compared to any mobile stores around India..

Its is a very good phone. Battery backup excellent. Music quality excellent. GPS, GPRS all are very good. Motion Sesing technology is very good and you will start to love its all free & full version motion sensing games. Moreover, FIFA 2010 ; the full & free game is also there. After buying the phone, you must update the software. After N73Music Edition, I must say, its the only avaailable phone that is best in all aspects. I will give 9/10.

just bought my new sony ericsson KITA/YARI , i suppose to buy AINO/w995 but they dont have it on stock "metrowide", and i am thinging bout the w705 or this one, so far i was impressed, with the features. so i bought, great audio quality, camera, cool games. but anyone who know where i can download motion games e.g boxing,golf? only problem is when i try to connect to the facebook app, it might be a network issue, or with the app itself, which ill be checking with the service center sometime.. and no buttons on side ti easily access music(well i just got used to walkman series thats why) yet love the phone anyways., SE never failed me ^_^

GSM Arena, would you clarify this depth color thing: while on sonyericsson official sites it's mentioned that this phone (and also T715 and Naite) has 16M color screen, you still mention they have 262k color. Have you already counting the total amount of color those phones can showing and you have different results of what the phone maker has claimed?

better buy nokia 6260 slide than this. 6260 is thinner buy 0.3 mm. it has 200mb while yari has the poor 60mb. 6260 has wifi while this you will spend your money on that 3g app. 6260 has has 16m colors better than yari's 256k. based on the camera i think yari is a little bit better than 6260 but they are both 5mp and has autofocus and 6260 has better led flash because its bigger than the small round led flash of yari.

Well technically, Mobile phone with 256k screen can display 256000 different colors & mobile phone with 16m screen can display 16 million colors... That means phone with 16m screen can display all the colors that 256k screen can show.. So what it means is Yari is a 16m mobile phone & better than 256k phones.. Even Aino & Satio r 16m..

yari produce good sound trough the stereo speakers on the back but through headphones,it produces really good n sharp sound. but it's not as LOUD as i expected from a SE, it's not like Walkman series but enough for me battery stays for 3 days on one charge at normal use, some music n gamin. if you need music go for a Wlakman. i recommend a W902 for sth in the same price range good luck

all the software problems like bluetooth bug, speaker volume during calls, main menue lag.... all fixed after the first software update !!! and 2 motion games are added too the only problem with the camera is that when you take a picture it look blurry. but actually it is way sharper than it looks, and its obvious when you zoom or view it on ur pc if you compare btween this and c903 yari has +video call camera +more dedicated to games +cheaper -less camera quality -C903 has better flash -C903 is more solid built n made with better materials actually i have a Yari and my brother has a C903 :D but i love my yari, its more fun

After more then a week doing observation it seem Yari will gonna my choice compared c903. My first phone was Ericsson 788e (http://www.gsmarena.com/ericsson_gf_788e-110.ph­p) back in 1997 at high school. Then change to Nokia (8800 or 9000 -forgot the model number, twice change nokia already) and change to Siemens SL-45 (1st release MP3 phone). Then when Sony merge with Ericsson I own T68i (1st phone with 256color), then I brought K750i for me and after my wife Nokia 6600 lost, I brought second K750i for her. K750i it still the best phone ever until now I still use it and my wife now. And my second phone last year at 2009 was c905. Then I planning to buy Yari for my wife replacement K750i, somehow my K750i already the joystick retired and I will modified with my wife K750i take the best part and merge it to working single piece K750i and I will still continue using K750i (as voice) and with C905 (as camera & data & modem wireless). Until now I used SE, I still keep my T68i with 2 model attach camera my cabinet but unable to use it. Hopefully Yari will be the best gift for my wife. After own few phones in 20years I will not buying something expensive anymore change phone often if not worth for. Something worth it everyday use and you will depend it on it. So Yari will be next one. I hope i'm not confuse with c903. I like cybershot :)

i have bought my yari since 2nd January. Few days before, got software problem. i cant turn on the bluetooth in the settings, but i can send things through bluetooth. i got it back from repair this afternoon, they say the software version nt that good, so they helped me updated the latest one. and got 2 free games which is hamster hustle and snowboard rush which is motion game. they are quite fun. there is no problem and any lags after getting it repaired... i still like it very much

Hi guys, It seem Yari have good comparison with C903 in term of pricing. In hardware it seem Yari doesn't have lens cover, image&video stabilizer, internal memory comparing with C903. And flash light it seem c903 much batter. And Yari using microSD and C903 using microMS. On software side it seem only BestPic and smile shutter take big difference. Other feature I not much care about it. As long there is GPS, google map and email. It seem these two model all most identical and for Yari much cheaper then c903. Other much same such: GPS, geo-tag, email, bluetooth, accelerometer sensor, 5MP camera. Is it true Yari has front camera and build stereo speaker? Which C903 doesn't have this? Please correct me if i'm wrong, if someone about about this model please give opinions!!

Bought it a while ago. It has a nice clean interface, is quite fast has good sound for listening to music. But i am dissapointed with it's camera. It just don't take good pictures, especially in dark areas. I had a Nokia 6220 Classic before and it took quite better pictures. So if you are looking for a phone to take pictures with i suggest you buy something else. Otherwise it is a good phone.

Every thing is good abt this phone except for the fact that its damn slow in loading the menu or even the calls list. My phone is abt a month old. The music is great, the cam is good and of course the games . The only glitch...dirty delay. it takes few seconds to cut an outgoing call, to view the calls list. W595 is much faster and more responsive and solid compared to YARI

@santos - If your budget is around 15K INR..then i wud advice you to go for yari...the ans for your questions are:- Yes, keypad is good. Dont go by the keypads of dummy yari mobile. gprs is good but not as good as W995, but still can be quite useful No, W705 is not better than yari in any way. Only advantage in w705 is the presence of wi-fi. Gesture gaming is pretty cool, but you will get bored after couple of weeks. Hope this ans your questions. Lemme know if you need more help.

OK guys...i got my yari few weeks ago n im gonna share my experience wid u. 1st of all..The gesture gaming feature is good but not up to d mark,bt music is just awesome!!! The GPS might not be as good as W995, but usefull nevertheless. Camera can be quite tricky- some pics r jst outstanding wereas some mite be dull. Screen quality is gr8 along with its UI.So according to me its the best in d mid-range category. Now for those who have alredy bought it, theres n issue with themes. The Yari themes might not be compatible with your C905, C510 etc. Yari uses version 4.9 while the other are 4.8 compatible. Some of the difference between v4.8 and v4.9 are the new Activity Menu Small, Events images and Application Background images. The themes for w705 dint work in my cell coz it uses v4.8 wereas yari uses v4.9. you can download themes 4yari from Hope it was useful, cheers...Yari rocks!!!!

Dear Friends, I recently purchased Yari for my Dad. I already own W995i. My Question is about using GPS. I don't think Yari GPS is as Good as W995i has ( Though the accuracy is really good ). i have latest firmware R1BA049 installed. In w995i; there is "Status Info" Menu which tells about current speed, Lat/Long. and most importantly Satellite position which is absent in Yari. If i switch off Yari and restart it then i find that GPS receiver starts to get all the data in a cold start manner. It takes a lot of time. I believe all the logs gets deleted when you switch off the phone or change the SIM card. If there is a satellite connection kind of software included i would know what's going on. If you are using AGPS then try to disable it. After it acquire signals. Restart it and see how much time it is taking to calculate the position. It behaves like a cold start in every restart. Is the same thing happening with you ? Do you have Status Info software which can be installed in phone to know about the connection status ?

Yari is one of the best SE phones i have ever used, reminds me of the glorious W550, super speaker sound, awesome call clarity, engrossing gaming and added sensors. the sliding is as reassuring as the swirl of W550. but the camera is tricky, some outdoor shots can put a digital camera to shame, but other shots are just good for deleting.

hey anbody listening. where is the full review. u hav reviewed so many unintrested phones but not this revolutionary handset.it has so many features in such a small price.dont forget the gesture gaming its the first one to hav this.there is so much to talk about it.it has generally everything except wifi which i think is of no use when u hav 3g. my friend has a windows mobile but we cant use wifi on it because college authorities do not give settings for mob. but only for laptops.it has another unique feature called music call in which u can attend a call while ur friend can listen to music thru earphones both at the same time.

my yari vidrec res is VGA, but why gsmarena preview is QVGA, though u only have 2 opt in res; mms or hires(vga 30fps). unfortunately after 40sec of recording in playback mode u'll find lag till the end ????? i hope 4 da nu firmware or something

i just bought it 5 days ago in indonesia for my wife; nice fon, 1.smooth sliding 2.good video camera(better than n82 & n79 which is mine & my bro's) 3.good speaker, i think it's da same as n79 but not better than n82. but deepsound using earfon THE worst thing is only network when using 3g. signal bar is not as strong as my n82 or n79. but i hope soon soner will release newest firmware

the sony ericsson yari is quite a nice phone with loads of features. i haven't got this phone yet but in getting it next month. all i have read uptill now says that the yari has mainly got gaming features. other features are there, like the 5 mp camara, walkman player etc. Yari is avalible is 2 colours- black with touches of white and white with tou ches of cranberry colour. Teenagers will probably like this pfone like i do because of its hoards of features. I do not know about its internal memory, but i do know that it can be expanded up till 16 gb. now thats a lot of space! this phone also supports gesture and motion gaming. I suggest if you are wanting to buy a nice phone with loads of features and an awesome design, visit a store that keeps a variety of mobiles of different brands. And if you want only sony ericsson visit a specific store made specially for sony ericsson mobiles. I can promise you that sitting on the net searching for a mobile is no good. You'll not get to know any of its features. Instead go to a store and you'll get better advice. happy searching! =D
