Even the browser lags in this phone permanently. Good point is though, that I threw it like 20 times against the wall and it didn't want to die. Be aware, this phone's a hard nut.

After using the device for 3 months, it started to be slow, freezes, takes about 20 min to reboot then it crushed, took it back to the store and they told me the motherboard has failed and they need to send it to Sony for repair, took them another 3 months to repair. Got my phone, used it for 5 months and the same issue started. no more Sony for me, never in my life.

You know this phone is so frustrating im using it almost 2 years and since the last 6 months it started destroying my charger cables... Its just the ultimate destroyer of micro usb. I had a much better experience on my old 70€ lenovo... It excells in shooting photos though. But also the camera app is flawed :Autofocus sucks, mo manual focus... Those 21 Mp pictures could have been also captured with a high quality 10 Mp camera...

Filled with special Sony spam!! Owned this phone for nearly 2 years. It's been great, but now my contract is nearly up it's suddenly become slow and crashes. A phone that suddenly stop working just at the time you need a new contract is clearly built to do it. I'll never buy a sony anything again. It's a shame the stereos they made in the 80's are probably still going fine.

My phone has never shutdown or failed to start in a years time until i switched off the location and not soon after that the phone suddenly shutdown by it self en i hand to do a soft reset to restart it, so i switched on the location its been two months since the incident and it did not happen again.

Lucky you! I really don't care about brands and makes. The specs seemed more than ok for the M5 but the implementation of the specs were a joke! I got SOOO dissapointed with the M5. Yesterday it froze simply from opening the album app! The "lightning fast focus", as they claimed, not that it isn't fast, it cannot focus in anything other than good lighting. Just at night, IN MY HOME, WITH the lights on, it has troubles focusing. Once more, I'm happy for you that your phone works all right.

Oh I forgot about the totally crappy Sony SMS app. It was slower then going through the mail in the year 1875! I never ever even considered on any phone to change the stock SMS app but with the M5 I had to install something else and I ended up with Textra which was/is 234435 times better!! Gigi...

I won't go through all the bad things that have already been said. Think about just the normal things, the basics that a phone must have, support and have them working...here they don't or are crap. WiFi - even when it's off, you suddenly turn it on, it already has/sees/knows all the networks arround. Then, you have it on the whole time, come to a new place, have some issues with wifi, you go scanning and there's no feedback, you just dont't know what's the phone doing. Then wifi drops out, but just as you unlock the phone and pull down the drawer you see the phone connecting to wifi. How I know that the phone was disconnected from wifi up to that point - Viber or other apps are offline so form my wife's phone (in the same room) I cannot connect to mine. Bluetooth - I have 5 devices paired (car, 3 headsets and PC). If you disconect from car, then after 3 hours go back to your car and just turn bluetooth on all seems fine. BUT, if you disconnect from car but after 3 hours turn bluetooth on and this time want to connect somethong else - the stupid phone wants to connect to car, and them slooooowly goes through the list of ALL the devices, but then alsto the damn THROW app (I call it throw-up) comes and messes everything up. So even bluetooth is fucked up. I really AM NOT a fan of conspiracy theories, and how the government is spying on us and bla bla bla, but IF YOU are, that this phone is for you!! What I mean by that is that every now and then the bloody phone is doing something HUUUGE in the background, so intensly that the screen input lags and stutters. Forget about playing games, power using...just moving from screen to screen!?!? It's like, its reporting everything to the FBI/CIA/NSA or maybe the Japaneese counterpart :-D So I kill the data and wifi connections and usually goes fine, but often I have to reboot it. Ah yes, the first few months it took the phone like 5 minutes to get a fix, and you could feel it becoming hot! The suddenly, with NO update is, I must admit, all right. I DID and still use all kind of different GPS apps, and only enable location when I need location services! I don't know if it's a Sony or Android thing but - If I manually rearenge the pics through ES File Explorer (sort them in different folders) then all the dates get fucked up after the Sony app rescans the photos. Needles to say a ton of bloatware installed... My wife('s number) has a special ringtone BUT - if the phone is locked, in stand-by it rings with the usual ringtone, then, if I'm using the phone and my wife calls, the other (special) ringtone is used! At least if it were the other way arround... The camera controls are shit. I installed Open Camera and with its HUUUUGE 2MB is 654684351 times better than the original Sony crap camera app!! Still way worse photos than the 8MP S4mini. The flash light is crap. You get almost more light from the screen using a white background. Luckilly I didn't "HAVE" to test the waterproofing because I doubt it would be as advertised... No removable battery. But at least I don't have this drain problem but it definitelly doesn't last two days. I have NO heavy CPU usage, but above average screen/usage time, and you can just be sure that it will go through the day, as not having to carry a battery pack. Usually I pug it at night and is below 15%. In comparison to Samsung (S4 mini was my previous phone) no vibrating notification when you just pickup the phone to FEEL that there was an event so that you don't have to unlock the phone. No sliding over to keyboard to move the cursor arround. Okay theese are mybe some proprietary Samsung things... I AM a power user, but not in the sense of CPU power (games,...) but in the sense of calender, contacts, apps for home central heating, climate control, mobile banking, eBay, dictionary, maps, notes, organizing my life, PDA, and ofcourse email (multitasking) all things that need a 4656 year old phone! This piece of shit has more ram than my old Pentium 4 (and probably more CPU power too) but is 345 times slower!!! My old S4 mini is still better than this M5! My old Blackberry Bold 9000 is still better for serious (grown ups) usage. Hell, even my beloved Sony Ericsson P910i was/is better! What I do like about the phone, or why I bought it? Because of the advertised specs (which ended to be bogus), the camera (which is crappy), the waterproofing (I read that you don't wanna test it), and because my 2 year contract was expireing any my wife needed a better phone so I gave her my S4 mini! Probably Sony has good phones too, but will I EVER buy a Sony phone...the answer is, you guessd it, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! P.S. Now I have even doubts about other Sony products too.. not a good phone there is no manual focus and the autofocus is just unusable the waterproofing is a joke and the screen shatterd with an screen protector on it. the repair cost is 160 eur where I live. if you use youre phone more than 2.5 hours a day you won't have enough batery. conclusion: with third party camera apps the 21MP camera is nice, but the rest of the phone is bad though

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! Seriously. Do not buy this phone. You may be thinking that you are buying a quality product because it is SONY, but the sad truth is - this phone is the biggest fraud done by SONY. Namely, this phone has one serious problem - camera focus. If you have doubts regards this, please browse internet for "xperia m5 camera problems" (or similar) and see what you can find. Almost ALL of the users complain about this and SONY did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about this. In my personal experience, this focusing problem is such that I do not even bother to use the camera on the phone anymore. I purchased this phone (for 300+ EUR) because of good camera quality and to upgrade from my SONY Xperia Z3 Compact (which was fantastic, BTW). After the purchase, I had to go away for a while and could not afford to replace the phone for a few months. During this period, I did my homework on this problem and came to a surprising conclusion that SONY simply rushed to put some cheap phone on the market that they did not even bother to make it working. The serial problem on this phone (among many) is - camera focus. It uses some new hybrid focus technology which simply - does not work. And then SONY just decided to trick their customers and kicked out this piece of garbage. After I took it to their represented service repair shop, they charged me for diagnostics and said that it is a "common software problem on M5" and that I should "play with the settings". Then, after some time, when this "playing with the settings" thing turned out to be bogus advice, I took it to the service repair shop again and this time they "repaired" it (and charged me a good sum of money. However, they - simply did not repaired it. It still has the same problem. Now, I do not expect some fabulous photos to turn out, but I just want the phone to do what it's counterparts do - work as it is prescripted. And after having my Xperia Z3 Compact working fantastic - this phone turned out to be the biggest disappointment and a fraud from SONY. So right now, I am back to my Xperia Z3 Compact, but if I ever consider a new phone, I will make sure that it has nothing to do with SONY. And my advice from the first hand experience is; after seeing that SONY is capable of deceiving it's own customers like this and making such a fraud just to get some money, if you have any common sense - please stay away from SONY. Yes, there are many SONY products that work just fine and I do not doubt for one second that there are many satisfied customers. However, I will not, EVER, place my confidence with the company that is capable of tricking it's own customers into such a cheap fraud.

Hi i have this phone for 2 years. Been great. I had the shutdown issue but its to do with low bandwidths, sometimes when the reception is bad it picks it up as a fault n shuts down to protect itself (wierd, i know). I fixed it by going into engineering mode through the phone dialing app and you turn off the 3 lowest bandwidths. You dont notice the difference and it never shutdowns again after that. I saw there is a video on youtube on how to do it.

Ive had the phone for 7 months now. You could say by buying this you re doing a 50/50 gamble for the camera to work properly. Some people have the focus just fine, but others(like me) struggle to get anything in focus at times and it gets really frustrating if u want to take a quick shot of something. That doesn't change the quality of camera tho. Once ur subject is in focus The pictures come out quite nice. All around the phone itself is a great deal for the price. Somehow high-end phone disguised as a mid-range device. But the same as my previous android it didn't take long for it to start to restart randomly and sometimes when the battery is around like 15% it would straight jump down to 4% or instantly turn off. But that could have something to do with my charging habits as I work full time, and by the time I get home the device is almost drained and would usually end up shutting of which is not healthy for phone battery to get to 0% every day. And the battery life is not great for M5 if u plan to use apps(games/browsing web, facebook etc) But if charging your phone every day doesn't bother you(doesn't bother me at least) then its ok.

I have this device for almost 2 years. After upgrading to android 6 (which was unavoidable) problems started such as: 1) phone was going into ultra stamina by itself, 2) battery was drained w/o using any apps nor connected via wifi, 3) ringtone was changed into default by itself, 4) fb, messenger and some other apps were stopping unexpectedly . So, if you see option to upgrade into android 6, DON'T DO IT!! It's a trap! :P Try to find from settings the option to never download software updates, because it will destroy the usage. Other than that, both cameras are amazing!

Just a few apps installed and the storage is full (I have an SD card of 32gb installed too). Most of the storage is taken by Sony itself, all kinds of programs that cannot be removed take up a lot of the storage. I'd prefer to only have Android and not all that extra Sony-stuff.

I really like my phone.I use it for nonstop gaming (Paradise War).I have it for more than an year ,but a few months ago started restarting a lot on it's own. It says there is no sim when it restarts,while there is.It can restart endlessly (when I am not using it,when I use it it doesn't).Rarely shuts down completely,needs a charger to start. I wonder what is the problem, was it the overheating it gets while I game for too long, or did I ruined the battery with the games and endless recharge mode? I don't know,I don't really wanna lose it,so I decided to change the battery ,I hope it will work. My M5 is still in warranty,but I can't give it to Sony and wait for weeks or months to get it back...Hell,I can't skip a day in my game without suffering loses. So I really hope the battery change will help, otherwise I will have to say Goodbye permanently to Sony and move to Samsung,hoping for better phone life longevity there. As price to parameters is great....But I really hope it has more life in it than one year.

I have this phone for six months now and i must say that it is great! It doesn't show any lag and I have been pushing it real hard with games and various apps... Batery life is somewhat lacking especially if you are a heavy user like me. Both cameras are great and I bleave you won't find better in these price segment. Also water resistance came in handy when a friebd accidentally spilled bier all over the phone.

Worst phone that I have ever had. I cannot emphasize how many problems I have experience since I got this phone in Nov 2015. Since day one I have never had more than a day's battery life from the advertised two day battery. Also had the phone shut-down one day and had to send it in for repairs with the worst Sony Repair Centre experience, took in total 3 and a half months for me to get the phone repaired. With about 5 months of my contract left the battery now won't even last me half a day. Deeply displeased and will never go the Sony route again.

Well I have the late 2016 (september) revision of the phone,and it works marvellous, no bugs, no glitches no overheating no problems with sensors, screen or anything else. battery lasts for 1.5-2 days solid with average use (Wifi always on, 2-3 hours of use per day) Feels bad that we wont receive a 7.0 update due to old technologies that were used in 5.xx.

I don't know about yall but mi Sony is litt!!!! The front cam is like i took the photo with professional Nikon/Canon. Fast, in my hands all the time, battery fairly good. Best than most of smartphones nowadays. Got it brand new for 170 pounds back in September 2015, i'd change it only for Iphone 7 cuz aint no better than it.

dont buy this phone. I use sony product from last 10 years and i face issues in my previous phone "xperia C" but sony center doesn't help me even i was right and now i have xperia M5 and it is water proof phone as per its specifications but actually it is not water proof...just one month ago i have water damage in my cell phone and i send it to service center but now they demanded 17,000/- rs. for water damage repair even my phone is within warrantee period. but Sony giving stupid reasons for its manufacturing mistakes.so i have to go in consumer cell. Hello folks I am disappointed with my M4 and M5 SONY AQUA the problem is that the glass and all the telephone is to fragile. Both telephones screen glass got broken-down. this just having them in my pants front pocket and I wonder how many of you have the same problem? The worst is that normally the guaranty don't cover the broken screen glass and i contacted the shop in Norway Leftdal who told me they have to send the telephone to the SONY workshop so they can check it but if they find there is no guaranty and if i want to get it back it cost me 430 Nkr = 51,87 Amerikanske dollar. and they sustain that is the practice of all mobile phones companies. So I got shock first I get a bad quality Item so bad service This is the price we customs pay for Companies can grow global and competitive. The fact is they can grow so big and keep a quality standard with out it affect us customs. Compared to my iPhone4..: -Worse signal reception,.. Even compared to other phones, I loose signal a lot sooner, even sooner than cheap China phones -battery life, I just can not get it to run more than a day. I do not play games, neither, am not on social media, browsing, special apps.. Nothing of that.. I use it more or less only for telephoning and some email checkig, maybe I write an email or sms.. But battery just drains. I even tried selecting lower reception speeds, but it just does not help much. -I have more problems typing on this one as on the iPhone 4, strange since it is bigger. - I still have some.problems with Android, ios is better os..maybe I just need more time. Phone is faster than iPhone 4, speed is quite good actually. Camera is much better, but lumia 950 makes makes nicer photos in low light.

Got this phone week ago. Running smoothly. Only sad thing that it will not get Nougat update. Rear camera is quite good, front camera amazing, ram performance good, no randomly shut downs or anything like that, battery holds up for day even with extremely using phone. For mid range you could not get anything better, so this is my high recommendation, go for Sony M5.

Problem solved for automatic shutdown! me and my 2 friends bought m5 and experienced autoshutdowns. Just upgrade lollipop to marshmallow 6.0. after upgrading you wont experience any autoshutdowns anymore. additional ultra stamina mode is also added to your phone after the upgrading.

I do have issue with the battery and the phone overheats even with slight usage. I did change my battery, so far it is okay but the overheating problem still exists. Now, new problem arise. everytime I make a call, the screen goes black, I cant even see the off call button on the screen!! Choose Lte only on preferred network. Go to settings,more,mobile network then choose Lte only or GSM only. It will fix the problem

Have this for 7 months now. Love it. Had the shutdown issue but that can be fixed by altering the bandwiths, there's video's on youtube about it. You dial a certain number to go into the engineering mode and you turn off the lower bandwiths, simple fix. The camera does tend to lag a little but its not much of a issue for me considering it's that good.

Bought it for just around 3 months ago .bought this phone specifically for its camera due to its video call capability but there is problems.... So many defect in this phone... 1st there is an error in camera that said cannot used camera because off it was use by other application but there is no other application using it... 2nd in order to fix the camera problem i have to format everything but to no avail it is still not working . 3rd there is a problem for the usb connection that it cannot connect to the PCC to fix the phone.... The ear speaker on my Sony M5 just stopped working. If I'm on a call. I can't hear the person on the other end. The phone is only 5 months old. I sent the phone back to the store and they had to escalate the problem. I'm so disappointed in Sony. Now I have to wait for 2 weeks while they try to fix the problem. Fix for corrupt sd card: Take it out before update to Marshmallow. Screen security issue: It is recommended to factory reset your phone after Marshmallow update. For more bugs and fixes you can visit XDA forums. Alright. Now about problems. It's battery sucks. Can barely hold 2 days while in STAMINA mode and not in use. Marshmallow update reduced the heating problem, but it's still present. Time that it takes to connect to wi-fi is still slow in Marshmallow as for most devices. Camera might be high in megapixels, but the detail of photos is not. There might be others, but I either forgot to mention them or simply didn't found any. Besides there are no custom ROMs for this phone. Overall the phone is good. I got a MOTO X PLAY ,but before I got it I thought to sell my M5 when X PLAY arrives. It turned out that I want to sell MOTO X as it's too big to hold it in one hand. Therefore M5 is better in size of screen. And on top of that it has one-handed keyboard which is missing from so many 5"+ devices. One thing that I love abot it is that it's still waterproof with charging port being open while most of other XPERIA's not. It has it's own advantages and disadvantages as every phone does so it's more of a choice which of them you you want.

Been using this phone for few months now. For a mid range phone, it really is a great phone IMO. So far, i've no complaints with this phone. I usually take underwater photos and videos (which i often brags about :-P) 4k videos... I seldom record more than 15 minutes, so i havent came across overheating (yet) Battery, usually it lasts me around 12hrs (my normal use. Whatsapp and browsing mostly). If i use it with smartwatch, it usually wont pass 10hrs. With stamina mode, I can get around 18hrs. So, IMO..it's worth buying.

Bad BAd experiences, it keeps shutting down for no reason as it doesnt have battery. You plug the charger and even the red led lights, the you press power to turn it on ad it has charve sometimes happens even with 70% charge, made all kind of resets still having the issue.

Try factory resetting once it will resolve your problem, I got the same issue. I was totally frustrated after marshmallow update. Overheating, battery drain, some unusual activity then eventually decided to sell the phone bt then i did a factory reset & bingo...!! All problem solved, Faster & Smoother than ever. Sometime i feel like im using an Iphone...!!!

I also had the same thingking about this phone before, but after some months it started showing its negative features, no doubt phone is with excellent specifications, but important is it should work for at least a year right? Just after 2 months my phone was getting switch merely seethe ex's zee err genre deserves, i went to retailer, he merely the zee err genre service to bring report from sony service center, I went to Sony service center, they took 20 days to prepare report, and finally I replacement, you will think story ends here? But no, this is start. After a week same problem with new replaced phone, I went to Sony they treched me to 45 days to change battery, after a month same problem, they took 10 days to repair it, now yesterday that is 28th sep again same problem and tomorrow I will go to Sony service center again.

Day by day, I really don't get why people give negative comments and reviews about this great super mid-ranger! From my experience so far after about 2 months since my last purchase back in August 2016, this phone is impressive and great in any other way. The FHD 1080p display is awesome plus, there are image enhancements, the phone is a 5-incher, so it is the ideal size for me(5.5 inch is a bit too big), waterproof? Yes, at least it can withstand a dunk in the toilet and from sudden rain showers. Performance is smooth as the flagships and heating issues? not much just a bit warm but, not too hot which makes it explode! but, NO! It does not explode, Haha! Decent solid battery life which now, it can be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow which boosts the battery life to double and with that, I can get the 2 days of power Sony claims with "normal" usage of about 3-4 hours of screen-on time, just. The cameras? Just DOPE! 21.5MP main and 13MP selfies? Its a great enough camera for daily snaps of everyday life! Really, this phone is sooo awesome and rare as the price tag of about 300 pounds or RM1600(note that I am from Malaysia) with near flagship specs is hard to find these days as phones are just overpriced now. So, really don't get the negativity received for this phone. No such issues and lags and you guys should really think before you review or comment about something. I am looking at this page from my Sony M5 and I just can't believe the stuff I read here. It is amazing phone. It,s fast, camera is great, battery drains really slowly, it can last at least 12h(and i'm using this phone a lot it's always in my hands) but it also charges slower than my last phone but they told me it is better to drains slow and charges slow than to drains fast and charges fast. About heating, yeah it heats a little (depends what are you doing) but it's a waterproof phone people, it's harder for them to cool down. The only bug I experienced so far is that sometimes when I want to turn on camera it says that some other app is using camera so I have to restart it. But, this phone turns off/on really fast so I don't care. Anyway, I love this phone endlessly.

I do not understand people complaining about this phone. It works great for me. I used to have my Note 3 and I was very happy with its performances. ANTuTu benchmark on my Note 3 was about 45..., and now on my Sony M5 IS ABOUT 55.... Sony obviously has some limitations on their phone modifications. my m5 shutted down when i lost signal, took it in they replaced the battery and now the phone is a dream. very fast and does not lag at all, slows down a bit when the memory is full but that is only noticeable with the auto rotate of the screen. i would say all in all its a great phone, it does heat up but so does the other phones too. my friend has a Samsung s7 and his phone also gets hot under continues use and so does my friend with LG G4.

I've used the Nexus 5 for over 2 years and this phone still cannot compare in terms of speed, size and many other things. The only thing Sony m5 has going for it is the camera. But that's very slow too and photos are very large which means 16gb out of the box is just not enough. For the money $400 from kogan I would say it's an OK buy. Nexus are still better for general use for me.

First i try to upgrade to Android M by myself, but after updated got problem with SD Card which after taking photo it can't be saved. I brought to Sony Service Center, and now everything is fine. Its camera looks nothing differ from X seria. Some app showed not install, i think it's just happened after upgrade to Android M. So after uninstall those app and re-install, everything is back to normal.

So manytimes qhen i connected my pendrive via my otg cable then in this software there are 6times my pendrive's data was corroupted and then this software 6.0 asked me to formate your pendrive. And also i have checked that in other phones my pendrive and otg cable works fine. So in this Android 6.0 too much problems were occured when connecting otg devices and not only my one pendrive, I have tried to connect 4 pendrives via different otg cables but many errors were occured at that gime like (1) failes to open (2) Not supportable (3) Pendrive was corrupted (4) File not found... Before i update this software i had Android 5.1 Software in my phone and at that time there was no error occured when i connected any otg device. So this is called software fault.

I think u playing too much i got Sony with 2GB ram and for me enough. And i sometime playing games for which need more ram. I mean Real Racing 3, FIFA 15, some shooters like Gangstar Vegas and ect and games going very well. I got C5 Ultra. Phone working good. One problem is that when i changed memory card to bigger sometime freezing smartphone, when i transfering aaps to sd and ect, all process with memory card. But games and apps working very smooth, good. C5 Ultra have only 2GB ram.

'm a repeat Xperia customer. Previously i've owned Xperia Neo L, L and now using M5 since 8 months. It was working fine until recently couple of times it switched off automatically, and i had to "jump start" it using a charger. But yesterday it switched off automatically while the battery percentage was still above 30%. I thought of jump starting it again. But no matter what i do, the phone refuses to start. I kept it for charging for hours and hours. Only that red LED glows and nothing happens. I tried reset / hard restart, power button + vol up, pc companion etc. Nothing works. Phone remains dead. Now i'm starting to wonder the only good thing in Xperia devices are their design and nothing else. Sony should start some phone design agency rather than making actual phones itself.

It is without comparison the worst phone I have ever had, and the most expensive. The camera is slow, the batterylife pathetic etc. The worst thing however is a bit tricky to explain; it simply tries to guess what you want to do, when you hit or swipe the screen and on other phones this works, but Sony Xperia M5 manage to guess wrong every freaking time!

I got this phone for two reasons, apparently it is fairly rugged and water resistant, and small enough to slide into my breast pocket. Also it had FM radio and a memory card slot, which some of the Samsung models don't have. Within a few days the speaker stopped working and I reloaded the factory software, after seeking advice on the internet. The speaker worked again for only one day. I returned the handset to Vodacom for repairs and it came back after an excessive 17 working days. The speaker worked for 3 days then shut down again. I discovered that all the Vodacom workshop did was reload the factory software. Back it went. Vodacom agreed to lend me a handset while mine was being repaired (a Samsung A3 that works like a dream). After two weeks in the workshop, Vodacom gave me a refund on my Sony. The other problem I had was WiFi connectivity. For some reason, the handset would not connect to certain WiFi routers. I am now going back to Samsung which is totally reliable.

Xperia M5 have better specs. camera(front and back), display, battery life, waterproof, just set the data to GSM and not LTE so you will not experience sudden shut down. This is a bug to the OS which I am pretty sure it will get fix on Marsmallow update.

Had the same auto-shutdown issue previously. After the Singapore Sony service center replaced the battery and the motherboard for my M5, the problem seemed to have been resolved. For heating issue and short battery life, try using 3rd party software like greenify, all-in-one toolbox, etc.

I hate it. I absolutely hate it. I was deceived. When I bought, I felt happy because the specs were really nice, but I had the auto shutdown problem less than a month after. I didnt bring it to the service center for a while, hoping the problem would just go away, but it didn't. Brought it to the service center and Sony had crappy customer service. They didn't have a service phone (what the hell am I supposed to use considering they sold me this defective phone?). When I got it back, THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. Mine has pretty good battery, It doesn't heat up fast, It starts heats up a little bit about after 2 hours of Gameplay. Its a really good phone, I don't regret it. It was given for service at sony service center, those irresponsibles returned me with the same issue by just flashing the mobile software. sony should call of this mobile. I have seen three people in the service center with the same issue. Felt bad when I come to know that it is known issue to the company and it is trying to cheat all its customer

Bought my M5 in April and it has had a problem of freezing thrice already. What happensis I lock my phone after using it but it fails to unlock or display anything when I press the power button again. What is the problem and why does it behave that way? I've had my Sony Xperia M5 since December. Started having the auto-shutdown problem more or less immediately. The problem is clearly related to mobile network coverage. Whenever the phone has poor network coverage for some time, it dies a sudden death. The only way to get it on again is to recharge. The nasty thing is that I live in a house that has VERY poor network coverage (a brand new house, slightly rural, with iron in walls and windows with films that protect from UV-radiation). NOT good. There are some places in the house where my phone shuts down within a few mins EVERY TIME. I have to basically run the phone from bedroom to the frontdoor to keep it on. This may sound funny but its not. Using 2G/GSM doesn't help, since even 2G coverage is poor in my house. Just installed the newest SW upgrade, hoping it would change things, but based on the comments here it doesn't sound likely. Took the mobile data off completely, let's see if that helps. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. I cannot believe it has been on the market for nine months and still has this type of problems.

Hello all, I bought my Sony M5 just 10 days ago and yesterday it died!!!!! It was not completely resistance against water! I put it in water just with 10 centimeter depth for just 1 minute! and what I saw? exactly the part of up and left corner was damaged and water went into it!!!! I got shocked especially when I noticed that the water was coming inside Its LCD!!!! few minutes later it went off with 26 percent charged!!! and till now, it is dead! Another thing is, my father and my aunt bought M5 about 1.5 year ago and both of them are really satisfied of it...I do not know why my mobile phone got dead :( Its board doesn't work and also it doesn't get flash :( nothing work!!!! Computer can not recognize it by connecting usb...I am really disappointed :(

I think I found the solution of the "shutdown thingy and the 'need-a-charger' to power it on" problem of xperia m5. Actually I tried doing the *#*#3646633#*#* that sir DK advised us to do, and its effective btw. The only problem is it slows down the internet connection when you use your mobile date. I also tried doing the other one which is changing the network into "manual". That one it didnt work for me 😞.. But thanks so much sir DK. It was very helpful. Just today I reset my phone and tried changing my sim card into this new 4G LTE SIM and it kinda solve the problem.. I think 😮.. Its been 18 hours and my phone hasn't shutdown yet.. well hopefully.. but I believe this will work. Ill give it another 2 more days and ill update you guyz 😁😁😁

I bought his M5 on May 12th this year, and just using it for about 6days, and then the screen stop working. It xannot be touched at all. Freeze. But the other button, like volume on/off and camera button still work though. Later days i still can use it to listen to music, by my earphone's button. Then I complaint to Sony ID by emails. No result at all. Next day, my brother helped me brought this M5 to the same Xperia Care. They asked for Guarantee Letter and the bill as approvement i bought that thing—not stole it. They said the services will be done in 14 days workdays. So when my brother submit it on May 20th, I assumed it will be done on June 8th. Correct me. But then, up till now, till this day June 20th—a month later, still no information from Xperia Care. When I called them, they said still in the Care Centre, which is not in the same place as the Xperia Care that I came on. When I asked which Care Center, they said in West Jakarta. But later I called them again, and asked the same question—which Care Center?—they said in North Jakarta. I know I shouldn't be upset, but it has been a month and still no information about my phone. Is this what Sony is?

I bought M5 Xperia last april but after two weeks it has many issues...From my experienced from that phone they just replaced the Motherboard and camera(front and back). No refund nor phone replacement. At the end of the day, you will regret for buying it. :(

If they couldn't fix a simple issue in this model and they didn't offer to replace your phone to other models especially they know the big issue in this phone, it means, it will not fix any issues of other phones. M5 has a big problem with auto shutdown, it's annoying, imagine yourself going from town to town and your phone simply with no warning shutdown and you need to make a call, it's useless. If Sony didn't fix this serious issue for M5 don't expect they will fix any other issues in the other models. Yes, yes auto shutdown issue here aswell, but real easy solution is to set network type to GSM ONLY. So what your internet speed will drop dramaticaly who freaking cares. Stop being so addictive. Sony will probably adress this issue asap. Phone itself is very good. I highly recommend buying it! Camera is blazing fast, quality is superior, both rear and front, no lag whatsoever and great build quality. Before M5 i used Sony M4 aqua well that was a terrible phone. Epic stuff dudes! And it's getting android 6.0.

I've been a user of Sony M5 for more 7 months now. I did experience the auto-shutdown even when the battery is above 50%. I resolved this by reading from one of the forums online unfortunately the modification will not make me enjoy my internet so much. Based on experience, the M5 auto-shuts down when your phone's preferred network type is set up to LTE or even on WCDMA/GSM. As long as the geographical area where you are in has an LTE it will not shut down, outside that area, the phone will shut down and the only solution to revive it is to plugged it directly to a charger which is a pain in the b***. You have to set it to GSM only (Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Preferred Network Type) so it will work whenever and wherever you are. The downside is internet is slow using GSM. You cannot even get an internet app working properly with GSM. I hope Sony release an update for it. I hope this helps you.

I bought the phone on March of 2016... and after a mouth using it just autoshutdown and dont turn on again!! just DIED!! hello.. i bought my sony m5 last aprill 20, 2016 from sony store. However, this may 20, my sony xperia M5 just autoshutdown and then it never on.. i thought theres no battery.. however i charge it however still nothing happens.. i went to the nearest sony service center and then gave it to them for repair as it still on warranty period (newly bought). Its already 20 days and yest its still not being repaired anyways, the camera specs of the M5 is great however, the battery life sucks, it has a sudden death issue and doesnt know how to multitask

I think I would buy a huawei P9! My wife has a huawei P8 for more than a year and it has been an awesome Phone!! One of the best she already had!! No lags, great camera, great performance, nice display!! Feels good in the hand... I think you will like!! The only think you need to be carefull on P8 is the scratches!!! The aluminium is very easy to scratch...but with a good cover you solve the problem!! Go for it!! You wont regret! Another good option is the new P9 lite.. take a look!! Its great too.. and a little bit more affordable!!

Sorry i miss pressed my keypad. And even if it catches the signal, thats fake one which you are not able to use the internet. Like, you get 4g icon but no signal bars. So what ive tried out is turning auto network search to manual. And it works. Phone doesnt try to get the signal ruthlessly, and cut off where it is supposed to be. Because in the manual search mode, phone connects to the network which is only listed on your simcard. So here is the new solution, but to make sure to see it works, please revert back all the frequencies to default setting. Setting> more> mobile networks> network operators, after searching finished, set the searchmode to manual, run the search again. Its done. And dont forget, sony could have solved that with software, not just battery replacing. They are just bunch of morons.

However; started facing shut down issues far too often in the last couple of months had to submit the phone to the service centre and now its been 3 weeks without any resolutions. the service centre is so occupied with such requests, apparently all the M5's have the same issue. Did you update it to the latest software? Because M5 has some known issues before the update, after updating almost every one of them solved. According to the users all over the world of course. So, do the software update, if possible, first do a factory reset and cache delete before updating and then update.

For everyone having this 'overheating' and 'battery drain' problem, the fix I did is to turn off the 'Location Services' from the settings. After that, no further problem occured and my battery can no last for 1 day of light to medium light LTE or wifi surfing/gaming. I freaking love the frontcam 👍

Sony M5 is a piece of junk. It has a lot of issues with this model and I send it to the service twice and send it back after three weeks without fixing. They said after testing no problem with the phone. They don't test it or they test for just 5 minutes. I just endure to use it until February 2016 and buy ASUS selfie as spare phone and just put m5 on my side table..then I have read about "battery lock test" and try it on my m5 and as expected it didn't pass the test and just shutdown again... Then April 2016 I decides to take it on SONY SC and tell them the problem and also tell them to change the battery. I bought one of these (dual sim model) from a Hong Kong based retailer, had it posted to Australia. I encountered the auto-shutdown issue after a day or so of use. I was reluctant to send it back to the retailer due to the postage costs, and Sony Australia refused to have anything to do with it. My solution was to source a version 3 battery myself and I had a local guy fit it for me. 30 hours later and so far, so good. Not one auto-shutdown yet. This phone is really good to use - fast, great specs for the price, decent battery life. My previous phone was a Samsung and I much prefer this. Unfortunately, I couldn't recommend it to anyone due to the shutdown issue. If Sony can guarantee customers that the shutdown issue has been addressed, then this phone is worth your money, if not, buy something else.

It happens in certain mobile carrier in certain area. In Australia, With telstra is fine, but with optus and vodafone was the problem when signal goes bad. And the optus and vodafone were in the same network frequency for 3g wcdma 900mhz. For that 900mhz, even with other phones it gets overheat with bad signal i thought the frequency band is in congestion. So i decided to turn it off the reception of the 900frequency and it turned out as working. Ok guys here ya go the solution Open the Dialpad *#*#3646633#*#* Engineermode> in the telephony tap, band mode> tick off wcdma 900 mhz> press set button. Some said its battery problem but i dont believe them. I read the xda forum and it was irrelevant information. Again, dont forget not to buy SONY product. Obviously they havent tested phone and did let you buy. I will be turned back from sony forever from now. Good bye dirty doggy sony!Idiots ####Update for my solution.#### I just got to south korea My phone turned off This time was because of 4g lte. Hey man, you need to look at the problem as right through. Im sure your battery is draining faster than before, therefore, you would also have overheating. Changing battery is just a way around, making you deceived. The real problem is in the helio chipset and sony's radio control software. And there is no way to fix it unless you get another product.

I've had the auto shutdown problem thinking it was a software problem. Brought it back to the service center under warranty. They changed the battery to a higher capacity. The problem turned out to be the battery. It was under capacity, therefore,the auto shutdown. My unit is now doing well. The first batches of M5 had this defective batteries

Yes auto shut.down is a bug. But the 2nd issue about notification is not. Wifi is still there when you lock the screen bit notification will be blocked to save up battery. When you turned on stamina mode it ia activated but you can turn it off manually in settings. So Even if you lock the screen you can stillreceive notification. Try to read the manual before you post

Xperia m5 is a very nice phone, you'll get everything you need.I got disappointed 3 times at first, I received 2 defective phones which has a version 1 battery which is causing the auto-shutdown at places where LTE and 3G signal is low. It won't start unless you connect it with a charger/ powerbank. Most M5 units have this problem, don't replace it unless there is a green circular sticker on the box, it means the phone has a version 3 battery which will not trigger the auto-shutdown. In my case I went to Sony Centre and changed my battery to version 3 at no cost, now it works perfectly

I updated my phone 2 times and each time after updating the first starting up takes really long (for several hours). I tried to repair it using the Sony Companion software and again after repair because everything is getting new and I think it's a similar process to update the first start up is taking REALLY long (it's been more than 24 hours so far!!). Bought new sony xperia m5 in mumbai on 15th of march . Started facing auto shutdown issue same day, after going back and forth with the service centre they agreed to sort it. On 19th Isubmitted the phone at sony service centre where thestaff doesnt have any knowledge of the phone, the technician returned the phone on monday after "updating" the phone.i told the fellow that i had updated it myself, so what had he done but he did not respond and coolly left. Phone again started auto shutdown and charging time taking upwards of 4 hrs!! After shouting at the service centre and demanding a replacement they took me seriously and kept phone for two more days, and returned same phone regardless of company policy of replacing handset if phone has physical defects within 7 days of buying, stating battery has been changed. Now phone doesn't auto shutdown but it heats up a lot using minor apps. Now I'm stuck with this handset and with the wisdom of never buying sony products in the future because of their cheap quality products and bad after sales service. These multinational giants are taking the consumer too lightly. Do not play with the consumers time and money. As for you, my wise friends, you have been warned. Avoid this phone like the plague.

Hey guys! Ive found a solution for random/auto shutdown problem for bullshitting m5 Ive been trying to solve the matter 3months so far as non technician, had to test few things. It happens in certain mobile carrier in certain area. In Australia, With telstra is fine, but with optus and vodafone was the problem when signal goes bad. And the optus and vodafone were in the same network frequency for 3g wcdma 900mhz. For that 900mhz, even with other phones it gets overheat with bad signal i thought the frequency band is in congestion. So i decided to turn it off the reception of the 900frequency and it turned out as working. Ok guys here ya go the solution Open the Dialpad *#*#3646633#*#* Engineermode> in the telephony tap, band mode> tick off wcdma 900 mhz> press set button. Some said its battery problem but i dont believe them. I read the xda forum and it was irrelevant information. Again, dont forget not to buy SONY product. Obviously they havent tested phone and did let you buy. I will be turned back from sony forever from now. Good bye dirty doggy sony! Idiots

I bought a parallel imported Xperia M5 in New Zealand in December. It was probably one of the first batch. At that time Sony NZ did not import them so I had to parallel import it. Needless to say it auto shutdown all the time. It drove me crazy. After testing it exhaustively I wrote a report and took it back to the importer, Digi Parallel Imported. They in turn sent it to their repairers Omnitech. Instead of doing the usual and spending weeks examining it, Omnitech had heard of this issue, realised I was right and sent it straight to Sony NZ. Result? One week after Sony getting it I have my M5 back with a new, apparently generation3 battery and no problems thus far. Well done Omnitech for being pro-active I know Sony say they will not honour the warranty on parallel imported devices, even though this is perfectly legal in NZ. It would, however, be nice if they would just admit there was an issue in the first place.

This phone is horrible on battery life. I've heard rumors that the company supplying the batteries cut corners and that it's an with the battery, not the phone. I'm not buying another battery to find out. Did I mention the battery life is horrible? Lucky if it lasts more than 6 hours with about an hour of browsing and 30 minutes of phone calls.

The M5 seems to have some issues with its Preferred Network Type especially when you go into an area where there is a drop in LTE signal. Go to Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Preferred Network Type and select GSM only. Your cellular data signal will be crippled but the phone wont auto shutdown again.

I live in Indonesia and use my xperia m5 in almost 3 months and the only problem I get are the "2 days battery life" and "waterproof" fraud. I mean I constantly spark water to the screen and it becomes wild and uncontrollable by tapping it self up without my fingertip on it and goes crazy, until I lock the phone, clean the screen to dry and unlock (turn the screen) it back on. Well... M5 is now about 370 euros, z2 also about 370 and Z3 is about 400. So... Go for Z3. It might not be the newest like M5, but it belongs to flagship series and it is a bit stronger version of Z2 so dont be cheap for just 8% of a price. And if you get Z2 or Z3 go for android 5.1.1 ... it works the best with these 2 phones.

For shutdown issue my handset was swapped 3 times but still Sony guys couldn't find the root cause for the issue .. After some research on Web I found that if we select GSM network than handset will not shutdown automatically but if we select other than Gms network the handset will automatically switch off... I asked Sony ppl at Mumbai, they said its nothing like that you need to remove unwanted software and buy new sim card the handset will be normal. Passed couple of days and I got an answer. Yes, they aware about the problem. No, they do not accept word wide warranty (why?). Please call to local Sony support in your country. So I did. My conversation with the local support delivered me an amazing and unexpected experience - the most violent, unprofessional and rude response to a customer I ever get from any company. And the final answer was, that local Sony service is not familiar with my model and will not fix it, nevermind for payment or by warranty. Then, my personal conclusion: Sony products? Never again.

So, I was having the same turn off problem. It suddenly turned off and had to connect to turn back on. I went into developer options under settings and took away every system screen transitioning effect. Now it runs faster, overheats less and never turns off. Apparently the cpu can't handle all the transitioning effects of the xperia lollipop interface.

Autoshutdown issues when ur 4g signal is gone..& it won't turn on unless u connect it with your charger...it won't shutdown though if you're using GSM only mobile network.. But you'll have the slowest Internet in the world.

Bought this phone in November 2015, used it for a month then I experienced overheating, which then led for the screen to freeze several times a day. Losing the LTE signal causes the phone to automatically shut down and wont open until it is connected to a charger. SD card usuall ends up with corrupted data too... had it sent to the service center 2months after purchase, they replaced it with a new unit today (almost after a month). Hope everything runs smoothly now. Autoshutdown can be fixed by NOT using the LTE. Change your sim cards network connection to GSM ONLY. It wont shutdown, you wont be able to use your fast data connection also.

So essentially there are two problems with this phone. One is battery related (overheats & drains fast) and the other is network related. Whenever the phone loses the LTE network signal, even momentarily, it shuts down. They told me at MTN to bring it back, apparently they are waiting for a new batch of phones to be delivered, don't know how long that will take.

Have an M5 about 1 month old. Great phone except for the problem which started suddenly a few days ago. Phone works when plugged in and charging but dies soon after disconnecting (even though it reports 100%). Phone has just taken Android 5.1 update. Booted in safe mode. Same problem. Next thing to try is hard reset but then I have to reinstall apps. Symptom seems to me to be a failed battery. Dissappointed :-(

The new systemupdate didn't batch the issues. It kinda made a little difference with the camera shutdown issue. The camera doesn't shutdown that often anymore, but it couldn't batch the battery shutdown problem and I'm getting really pissed, because my M5 shuts down about 7 times per day. i bought this phone on November. It has been in SC where they changed the battery. Since then (now about a month) it's been working fine. No shut down, no crashes etc. And yesterday I updated it to Android 5.1.1 (or 5.1) dont remember which one.. And since then its not heating as badly as it was before. This is starting to act like a very fine phone and I'm actually happy. Battery doesnt Last 2 days though but one charging per Day has been enough. Just like in other smartphones too

Same problem on shutdown. Solution: when not plugged use GSM only in mobile setting. When plugged switch to wcdma or lte. With GSM no shutdown. To reduce heating always reduce open apps. Over all M5 is lousy. I hope sony offers recall or change.

To any South African's. I can't confirm if it is Sony or MTN. But a friend of mine working in MTN has called me in her official capacity to inform me the M5 has been recalled and I am to return my phone. For those wondering this is actually my third M5 as I returned the previous two due to crashing. And that sort of thing. Having to Jumpstart the phone 20 times a day sort of thing. The one phone I got had not even been pressure tested properly as the phone was not IP68 resistant out the box. The frame of the phone had not even been stuck on properly.

regarding the auto shutdown issue, just send in the phone to sony service centre ASAP before warranty ends... standard protocol takes 1 to 2 weeks... i was told replace battery would solve the issue. i was lucky 'cos they had the replacement so i got my phone back the next day. hopefully this time the problem will not resurface.

Very Disappointed with my 1st ever Sony Phone. My Fiance gifted me this phone which he bought from Croma-oberoi. The very next day my phone went to sleep mode. tried switching it on several times but in vain. Phone was completely charged but again and again phone used to heat up and goes off. We went to Goregaon East Sony Center and experienced the worst ever service. Somehow managed to get the phone replaced with the new one in 2 weeks. A lot of the fixed battery handsets like M/2/4/5 and S6 etc., if they get into difficulty will go into hibernation to make you hard reset them. ie. Sony press and hold power and volume for a count of about 30 secs. If it vibrates leave it go and it will turn back on, if not simply press the power button and try it as normal. Same for Samsungs but volume up instead of down

Woah so many problem on Xperia M5, lucky i go for M4 Aqua instead of M5. The only problem on M4 Aqua is small user usable memory 2.3gb and loudspeaker cannot play song or ringtone more than 80% of its volume otherwise the loudspeaker stop working or you can hear cracking sound. I bought mine almost a month ago, and went to the service center thrice for replacement. Got 3 replacements all in all. First one is an obvious refurbished because it got monopod marks and dents everywhere but sony wont admit it, they replaced it but it also has a screen static issue, the one im using right now has autoshutdown issues, tried to phone the service centre but no answer. Maybe ill just wait it out until they release the marshmallow update. But one thing i noticed is the autoshutdown has to do with the Signal strength.the moment i lost my signal or my signal drops the phone shuts itself and wont turn on unless plugged into a charger. But when im out and my signal is strong, i don't face any problem at all. I hope sony gets this sorted. It sucks that this phone is only good on papers and ads. I wont recommend it for those planning to get one. Try the Z serieds ofciurse that will cost you more but it will be worth it.

Hi, i think it as something to do with the signal strength you have. I noticed that once my signal drops this phone will shut itself and wont turn back on unless plugged into a charger

I bought mine almost a month ago, and went to the service center thrice for replacement. Got 3 replacemwnts all jn all. First one is an obvious refurbished because it got monopod marks and dents everywhere but sony wont admit it, they replaced it but it also has a screen static issue, the one im using right now has autoshutdown issues, tried to phone the service centre but no answer. Spaybe ill just wait it out until they release the marshmallow update. But one thing i noticed is the autoshutdown has to do with the Signal strength.the moment i lost my signal or my signal drops the phone shuts itself and wont turn on unless plugged into a charger. But when im out and my signal is strong, i don't face any problem at all. I hope sony gets this sorted. It sucks that this phone is only good on papers and ads. I wont recommend it for those planning to get one. Try the Z serieds ofciurse that will cost you more but it will be worth it.

Its truth, shuts down everyday, sometime 5x a day, switch on is possible only from charger. I do not advice this phone!!!

Re-download the 3g/4g network settings to yout phone. its initial settings have problems. I did it and solved the problem of my phone.

I downloaded 3G/4G network settings to my M5 and the shut down problem finished. The device's initial 3G/4G settings have some bugs and make the device restart.

OK, got the M5 for 3 days, already noticing the following bugs: - Shutdown problem - phone shuts down, and cannot be turned back on unless plugged to charger. Have had this twice, both times when watching video (on youtube and instagram). - Cannot access battery usage in settings, shows "Settings has stopped" - When phone starts up, if time set to "automatic from network", it takes a minute for time to show correctly, because of which whatsapp and other apps can show errors. I really don't understand how a company like SONY can release a product this buggy, and not care when thousands of users experience the same issue.

If charged 90% it turns to green. If it won't turn on try to force off by pressing the little yellow button under sim & micro SD slot.

Not advisable. I purchased one from Cell C, two weeks of regular usage later, the phone is completely dead and won't turn on. I have tried every possible trick to turn it on to no avail. Camera not up to par either and the battery life is nothing to shout about either. All in all a general waste of money.

from the phils too, pls dont buy this phone. i have one and it shuts down when i use 3g and lte. it only works when i use gsm. it would be a waste of money. they say the problems would be gone when marshmallow comes out

Some tips for you: 1)3 hour charging is normal. 2)Every phone storage works that way and 10 of 16GB it is normal, don't worry. 3)Uninstall clean master as fast as you can, not only clean master but this type apps is bad for android, don't use it anymore, task killers and ram boosters are bad for android, stop killing your phone. 4) For app crash factory reset your phone, it can help.

Google play app, cam app crashes do frequently occur on Xperia M5, nothing you can do for now. As for the internal storage, The system apps and services use the rest of 16 GB. This is the case for all mobile phones. You can uninstall the not needed bloatware apps to increase the storage but without rooting, your options would be limited.

Hey guys, i have this phone since Xmas, and this phone is very good, but two things are annoying:1. when i go to a new app(not at all apps), first time it crashes or i spend a lot of time to surf google play, it crashes and app shut downs.2. when you activitely use a phone, battery discharges after one day, but most i hate is that, when i charge it, it fully charges per 3 or more hours...And... Last thing- i cannot understand why i see in any program that the phone has only a little bit more storage space than 10gb, although it has 16gb storage space... When i use(for example) clean master, it shows that android os uses 5gb and i cant understand, where are other 6gb...

I used it a few days. But it lags lags and lags. Because touchwiz sucks. Sony's ui is near stock and it works very smooth. Also Samsung battery life is very bad. No micro SD card...

I can suggest u one thing that REALLY worked for me. I bought sony and had to charge it like 3 or 4 times a day without doing anyrhing at all. Took it to the service they didnt find anything wrong woth my phone so the worker told me " i have this really dumb idea that worked for me when i had this problem with my lg and might work for u as well". He said that i needed to replace my SIM. And it worked. Now battery lasting for 2 full days when using it for inet and texting. Try it. :)) Hope i helped.

I just came back from sony ericsson center at KLCC, but they ask me to go to service center..how can this service center doesnt take any responsibility of their product? I bought it at KLCC, same plaace and main place for sony ericsson and this make me sick of sony!!!

I bought the M5 phone on nov.30th in Thailand, my wife loves the cameras making good pictures, but after a month the touch screen does not work anymore, the phone starts up and then keeps running through everything.Sent it to Sony ServiceCenter Bangna Bangkok,wait for a reply but do not buy an M5 with all these comments I really am disappointet. Will keep you informed if Sony can fix it

it happens all the time for me at certain locations. I was away from my office for the holiday season. I did not experience any problems. Now, I'm back at my office. Shutdown problem is back. If you can, revisit the place where it shutdown and spend some time there. I'm eager to know if it will shutdown again.

just press power button + volume button frm one side nd hold it for 10-15 seconds nd ua phone will turn on.

Mine is perfect, I experience also shutdown twice after I installed software all u have to do is connect charger and plug to power outlet of course and then turn it back on and will work fine, don't panic and bring to service center because they wil not replace it.I believe it happens during first use for gadgets because it adjusts because my tablet when I first got 2 years ago has shut down issue during first week but after that it's working fine until this day like my xperia m5

It happened also to me twice, I believe that happens to new gadgets because my tablet when I got has many problems also but now after 2 years my tablet is working fine. Going back to m5 don't bring to service center if your m5 shuts down and can't turn it on just connect your charger and connect to your power outlet and then open again and you are good to go, if u install some software from google play uninstall it because what happened to me was I installed double tap app and then it shuts down automatically so i uninstalled it.
