I have this phone now and been use this kind of phone for 3 years start before im married and no i have 2 kids... Well it still awesome and perfect for the gamers.. Game like free fire and pubg are in medium or low graphic are perfect.. Mobile legend work perfectly and its its build for the Phone Gamers.. Even it was old or build in 2013 but think it still can support the 2018-2019 gamer.. Well done Sony.. Plus with the Ram only 2gb it capability were about 4gbram for smartphone now days.. Still did not change the battery and it still in good intact.. Plus using the casing like Devil Case make this look more gorgoues.. Try it out... I got the silver one..

Still can't believe this phone came out over 5 years ago. Continues to look absolutely gorgeous. Wonderful Sony build quality. I supplemented mine with an official Sony CP12 battery case to give me even more life on the road. The magnetic charging is a great alternative to keep your micro USB port intact. Large , bright screen. Bezels for days. FM radio that doesn't rely on internet connection. Granted the cameras are terrible. No flash for low light conditions either. This is still my go-to device for late night media consumption at home in bed. Easier to hold than my tablets and lovely display. Can't ever see myself getting rid of this anytime soon.

The physical damage alone won't hurt the battery performance. Assuming it's the original battery from '13, you'll have to replace it. And, replace the back cover and glass, to protect the battery and retain waterproofing. They're very easy to do, with the right tools, which can all be purchased on eBay. Good luck.

It is really an amazing device and i am using it since 2013. I faced exactly the same problem with facebook App, during June 2017 and uninstalling it was the only way out. However, now the problem has been fixed by facebook Corp. and you can reinstall the latest facebook app from the google store if you like!

I bought it in 2013 too and i did not notice any battery deterioration so far. It runs on android 5.1 and the battery lasts more than 30 hours after a full recharge. The above mentioned duration includes approx 20mins of talk-time on LTE network, 20mins of web browsing with screen brightness on 3/4, 30mins of music playback on headphones, wifi always ON, Bluetooth always OFF, NFC always OFF, GPS always OFF, and auto-updates from google-store OFF as well. I have noticed that Bluetooth and GPS increase dramatically the battery drain. The multiple daily updates from the store contribute also towards a drain increase. Last but not least, it is quite important to root your device, if you haven't done that already, and take complete control of the apps that start automatically during booting, as well as of those running on the background, and eliminate the unwanted background processes too. If you are not very familiar with such things, i would suggest to reinstall the latest android 5.1 operating system through sony pc-companion and then try to avoid to install too many apps from the store, keeping your Z-Ultra as clean as possible. No need to mention that high detail 3d-games consume loads of power and drain any phones battery very fast.

I've had my Z Ultra for years, and unlike previous Phones I've carried on using it as a mini back up tablet and alarm clock instead of putting it away, and it still works nice and fast considering it's age. The only niggle I ever really had with it was the poor camera as I encountered more grain than a dessert at times.But for surfing it was perfect with that huge screen and that's why I'm still making use of it when my Tab S2 is on charge.

Excellent phone, been working it heavily for almost two and a half years. Still in excellent condition. Only Facebook app almost destroyed it some time ago. The phone went crazy, fb app didn't start at all along with msn, it was lagging like crazy and o thought it would kind and explode!! Apart from that which was again new right after I got rid of fb app and start entering by chrome everything perfect again. I want a smaller one and I was about to go for Xperia xa1 but after what I'm reading I won't for sure!!!! I'll wait little bit and I go for iPhone se.

When I lived in the UK, I had the C6833. The phone is great for showing off, getting comments like "oh wow, the phone is massive!!!". It's great for browsing all your favourite apps, and watching full-HD videos. However, the lack of camera flash and taking one-handed photos and selfies are a nightmare. Furthermore, the screen is barely useable in the rain, even if there's a single raindrop on the screen. The charge cover grommet will eventually wear off, and won't stay snug shut, in the phone.

Nice to read lots of good posts about the big Z, I have retired mine to tablet style duties but it still plays NFS no limits better than my S7 Edge. People don't forget if your big Z freezes there's the reset button under the sim/memory card cover but holding power button and volume up will also reset your Z ultra.

Hi, Im still using it, already more than 2 years. Im not gonna to replace it. Im not advanced user but general so all app are running well (whatsapp,viber,fb,maps,web ... ). One woman at ages a know also likes Z Ultra, uses abt 3 years. But a week ago she told me that appeared some problems with a touch screen. The price is too high for replacement and she upset. I personnaly like size. You have to expect 1.5 times per year a screen to be frozen until battery dead, waiting time abt 4 hrs prior you can restore it. Advace: do not mind the size - just buy it and after a month you realize that you do not like smaller ones and I think you will be satisfied. Speed is ok, could be better and I tried Samsung A5 in the shop and found that it works faster. So look at that and try too, compare, may be you like it. Just Samsung brand is not my brand at all. Keep in mind that the phone to be used by 2 hands! I do feel ok with that. Anyway get them in your hands and surf them by your fingers and afther that may decision. All the best.

Had this for 3 years now, just fantastic, never had a problem with it, so fast as well, there is no need to upgrade to anything for at least another couple of years and maybe even longer. The s800 chip is outstanding, the course is so quick and the adreno 330 gpu just plays anything without a hitch even Nova 3. Had this nearly 4 years from launch , changed the battery last year (good teardown vid on youtube so not too difficult) Made my amazon kindle and 7 inch tablet redundant . Not very pocket friendly , just have to buy jackets with large inside pockets or not wear tight jeans.:). Had this phone since it was introduced. I don't use a case, phone slips in easily into the side pockets of my jeans. Micro-usb cover broke off awhile ago, phone would restart abruptly on occasion (quite rarely though) , battery life has noticeably diminished, audio jack is starting to lose connection, but given all that I have to say it's the best phone I've ever used and intend to use it until its totally dead and non-functional.

I have this phone for the last 2 years. It is very reliable and never had any problems. Battery holds its charge very well as I have applications like skype, viber, whatsup, and mailing apps running constantly. It only crushed once in this 2 year period. Camera is not the best around but adequate. Would like to have the use of flash but is not a feature in this phone. All in all quite happy with it taking in to account its price.

I love my Sony Z Ultra phablet. I've been using this for over two years and it has never missed a beat - until recently. There is no flash, so no torch which is a little nuisance, but nothing major. Display is absolutely spectacular. It's reliable, responsive and a damn good phone for the price. I paid about $370 two year's ago. Obviously if you're looking at this, you want a big phone. This was the biggest on the market two year's ago, now there's a few. Software is lovely to use and even the photos are great (in daylight). The only fault I had was with a previous model where the magnetised charger somehow fried the motherboard/brain of it. Otherwise, cannot fault this beautiful TV - errr, phone.

You have propably seen the messures but as an owner I can tell that the size is not too big for me. It may feel big in the beginning but you get used to it. I actually wouldn't switch to smaller phone anymore. At least not much smaller.

Had the phone for over 3 years. Dropped it so many times and the screen has never broken. It's slowed down over time, but factory resets resolve this. Micro USB charging point broke, thankfully it has a magnetic charging device on the side so I can continue to use my phone. I've struggled to find a replacement as this phone ticks all the boxes and I don't want to downsize on screen/phone size. So I'm going for the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro next.

I am owner of the phone for 2 years+. Overall the phone is really good. The phone is 2013 but it's still really fast and I can play new games with no problem. The display is really beautiful and bright. I gave dropped the phone many times with no scratches. The phone has 4g I don't know why some people says otherwise, and I have no problem with connecting. I haven't used the ultra but I like the sony Xperia z3v more than the galaxy s6. Mainly because of the great display (has more honest colors than most smart phones not sure why) front facing speakers, and the awesome battery life. I think users that say it doesn't have good battery life should try a factory reset and not install a bunch of junk. The sony Xperia z3v is my favorite android to date. I think getting a used one is a great deal.

I do own a Z Ultra for over a year now, Pokemon GO runs with no problems. I've had no problems running any games, for that matter. As noted in a previous comment, the only real downside of the phone is a low quality camera. Personally I do not care about it, but those who do are going to find that an issue. The phone is quick, smooth, battery life is exceptional, though after a consistent 14 months usage battery is obviously not as good as it was brand new. Nothing unusual there. Screen quality is great. A general downside to the phone is its size - it doesn't quite fit into every pocket or handbag. However it is lightweight, thin, and fits great in my hand. At the time of purchase it was a great deal, relatively cheap for great performance, and several years after release it is still holding strong in my opinion. I definitely recommend purchasing some sort of a phone cover - both front and back side are glass, and its easy to scratch the back. I haven't managed to break anything and accidentally dropped it several times (though always within its leather cover I got from EBay). Overall, I would recommend this phone to anyone who's in search of a quality phone with a large, good display, and doesn't quite care about the camera or its size.

This was my go to Mobile, but since Sony's 5.1.1 update I have been having nothing but issues with the front and rear camera "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped". No mater if i reset to safe mode, clear the cache or reinstall the older kitkat software I have no joy. I recently had to pay Sony to repair the screen and took ages to get it back. Anyone haveing similar issues and maybe have any ideas for a fix?

picture quality in day and normal light is fine but in night and low light use manual night mode or night portrait mode but keep phone steady with ground table wall dont hold it with your hands and pictures is great but if you cant use a steady platform use the superior auto or handheld twilight mode . also you can use a hard penceil like h6 or h4 degree for hardness off graphitte center and use LECture note application for taking note but in setting for lecture note enable active stylus and enable one finger scrolling and some filters for smooth lines . it is a great app for this phone you can takinh note or drawing with your penceil and scrolling between pages and lines with your finger!! this is awesome! no?!

My mom use it 5 years then she give me this phone.. after 5 days i tested its waterproof.. i put it in a bail with 5cm of water then i put it there but i get it quickly then it didn't open anymore.. then i found out that there's a water inside.. so it is not advisable if you're finding a waterproof phone

Why Sony release a midrange XA Ultra with mediatek chipset and mali gpu.? I would have bought an XA ultra upgrade with 23mp back camera with flash, 5mp front camera, 32gb internal storage and 6'44 inch display.. I don't mind if they put a snapdragon 800 and andreno 330 gpu on it because most of midrange cpu and gpu as of now can't beat the snapdragon 800 in terms of gaming.. Why don't make a midrange device with the older flagship's cpu.? For me snapdragon 800 was the best for mobile device.. It doesn't throttle and overheat like most of flagship chipset as of now..

Had this phone for about one year, encountered no problems whatsoever, no lagging, no freezes, never had to reboot and I downloaded bunch of apps that use most of Ram but the phone never failed me, so fast so smooth. I have no problem with battery life, i am constantly using it. One big huge disappointment is the front camera is basically useless, the back camera is decent. I don't know why Sony kind of killed the entire Ultra series. All they give us are the downgraded models. XA Ultra is a joke. Only if they gave it a flagship treatment with some flagship specifications, i would have paid whatever amount of money they Sony would have asked. Sony have just released a mid range phone to upgrade from the high end Z Ultra, how stupid!, the specs of the XA Ultra are sub standard, only 6" display downsized from a 6.44" display, a really awful Mediatek P10 chipset, as many have said, only good enough to take pictures with, but not good enough for watching FHD movies or gaming. Should have had either the SD820 or the SD823 chipset together with a 6.4 to 6.8" display, would have been perfect.

I've updated my (C6833) Z ultra to lollipop and guess what, the phone is flickering like no one's business as if it was designed for that. Not reqd. its focus apperture size is 2.4mm which is much better than others 13 MP @ 1.8/ 2.0 available on most sets of Samsung lenovo etc. within this price range. Photos are very crisp even on low light, selfy cam auto adjust its light by its sensor not reqd flash.

Good sides: no lag after nearly 2 years of use, battery lasts all day, metal/glass body looks just superb, screen size;) , this phone is just perfect for web browsing, games, movies etc. Bad sides: Camera( only day time is ok ), no flash, speaker is not too loud, screen when even bit wet gets funky and when damaged( even tiny crack) gets totally unresponsive, the crack from tiny gets bigger and bigger with every touch. Got 2 phones damaged by dropping, both repaired under insurance but all data lost. Just set all data ( contacts, pix etc ) to save in sd card or cloud to prevent loosing it.

Yes this does support 4G but it depends upon the network you are using, I am on the 3 network but it's quite a weak 4G at the moment especially in my area in the UK.

Battery life is good And better in 5.1.1 than 5.0 I always use the Improved stamina mode that alone is a reason to buy Sony.its.similar or better than doze in my Nexus 6.Marshmallow. Only thing the nexus 6 has better than z ultra is Marshmallow And camera is better.

I have had the Z Ultra for well over a year now and it's still great, love every minute of it. I also now have it's big brother the 8" Z3 Tablet Compact, not as nice as the Z Ultra as it has a matte back instead of the glass on the Z Ultra. Still nice though but the Z Ultra is certainly the best device Sony have made to date.

If you are really interested in this phone, know that it doesn't disappoint. There is no flash but despite this the camera does surprisingly well in low light regardless of what some people say. I've had it for over a year and it's still just as sharp as it was day one. It's incredibly fast, incomparable screen, strong build, sleek look. It's crazy thin and I have no idea how I haven't snapped it in half yet. It's a tank.

In exactly 10 days, I would have owned this phone for exactly 2 years, and honestly, these are by far the best 2 years I've had with any smartphone. I constantly use it throughout the day and I still can't complain about the battery life. I don't mind the lack of a flash because it takes good low light images (which I rarely ever take). The only drawback for me has been the storage, 16Gigs (of which only 11 are user accessible). For this I bought a 64Gig Sandisk memory card and it works perfectly for storing my movies and large music library. Sony made a great phone here. Highly recommended it.

Did an antutu test for my Z Ultra, came out as 43017, which is just awesome, just shows that the s800 chip is still very powerful, no need to upgrade for a while yet, and to be honest I can't see myself changing phones until 2017 at the earliest.

As i've just pointed out to someone else, you won't find these phones in stores anymore, you need to order the phone online and you will still get the Z2, but don't bother going into a store to buy it. Just google it and you will find plenty of sites online from where you can buy the Z2.

I own this model and it was my main phone and portable media/gaming device till recently. It has some great features like the screen size and was excellent for reading or using maps, and it played pinball apps without lag. It was definitely more of a mini tablet with phone function tacked on though, phone use could sometimes be very frustrating unless you used a headset. Liked it enough that I am going to root it, install a linux OS and explore the full potential of the chipset and processor. Cant say I miss it, but it was great on the bus.

All those who have been moaning about the camera, if you bothered trying the camera in low light or in the dark you will find it has a kind of MAGIC FLASH, simply it lightens the picture atomatically when it detects that you are in low light. I took several pictures yesterday and it was fantastic, just like having a real flash, you can actually notice a flash as you take the picture. This has to be the best device out there when you consider all the features it has, so stop moaning.

Specs good you can operate it without any lags. oly one big problem is it's screen highly prone to damage. can't with stand uneven pressure it can survive droping from vaist height but one coin in your trousre will spoil your happines. once you broke your phone's screen it will be a paper weight. poor service for screen replacement they will cost you half of your phone price.If you are a rough user plz dont go for it .

I'll differ on the waterproof capability. If you keep the rubber seal in the flaps clean, there is no obstruction from dust particles. I have 2 Xperia Z Ultra, and 1 Z1. They all are proven waterproof. I wash them with detergent (ezee) under running water. And they have never had any problems in last two years. Sony has kept Z Ultra up to date as of November 15th, 2015. One unique feature of Z Ultra is its response to pencil touch. Unlike Samsung Note series, you can use pencil or metal tip pen on Z Ultra. If you use magnetic charger or dock, and a Bluetooth keyboard mouse set, you never need to open any flaps. That's an ideal phone.

I've been using this phone since February of this year. So far so good... The biggest disadvantage is unremovable battery.. Its getting drain when you plug in to PC or quality less Doc chargers.. And be careful about the display... It might be damaged when you put in the pocket because of the big screen and its so sensitive.. And don’t use this for underwater purposes for long time..

i am using zultra from last 10 months... i see most of the zultra users complains about the battery... but once you have this big screen you will definitely need charging all the time. so in my view battery is not the issue. 2gb ram is just awesome to have in this device. i haven't faced any issues with its speed. waterproof is just for advertisement not for reality. its just a fake attraction. only a half glass of clean water fell on my zultra and my phone's display was gone. i sent back this device to service center and they replaced my old device with a new one. the screen. after 2 months of use, when i try to unlock my new phone there is colored lines starting to invade my whole screen from top to bottom and after few seconds my phone comes back to normal. it irritates me like anything. zultra users complains about this issue since it relase but sony has never responded to zultra customers. i use to be a fan of sony but after this experience i am completely unhappy with sony. i recommend not to buy the sony xperia zultra phone.

My Z Ultra is permanently damaged now due to the charging port cover not closing. Water went in, no point in having it repaired as it will take too long and knowing Sony they will probably charge me for it. Instead i'm going to have to pay another £240 for a new one, not happy about it at all but one thing is for sure. I shall definitely not be taking my new phone anywhere near water again, this waterproofing is just a gimmick.

Bought this phone 2 months ago. At first i had some doubts that the phone's performance will be that good since it's an old model. Damn, i was so wrong. This thing is a complete beast, never slows down. i always play some games and have enough battery to get me through the day, until 22-23h at least. Also Sony released 5.1.1 , and looks like there will be more updates or fixes in the future! Yeah it's pretty big but I got used to it and now i rarely even use my laptop anymore. I have great music output,office, file managers, USB on the go, a big screen to read text or watch movies. The only downside i can think of is that the phone's battery takes too much time to charge, about 2 and a half hours. But really, this phone is probably the best deal out there right now, it's cheap (i got mine for $220) and offers great performance, despite being a 2,5 years old : )

I bought z ultra 4 months ago from flipkart for just 14 k, This phone is really awesome, as My phone has came with latest android version 5.1.1, it doesn't have any problems like screen off when on call,no problem over WiFi connection,when it comes to gaming - it works much smoother and faster than other smartphones and gives superb experience while watching movies on it! The phone has aluminium frame, on 2nd day after buying the phone it was dropped from my pocket on the road when I was on bike,but just few scratches on it's Al frame and small spot on its tampered screen guard and everything is ok! It also captures good images in night with its ex-mor sensor

Turn off X-reality in settings. If you want to use it as a phone get a handsfree or BT earpiece, which is how it is intended to be used. Use it as intended, remember it is a two year old design, and it works well, especially after the 5.1.1 update.

After 5.1.1 update, now you resize your screen icons. It can done from the customization option on main menu. Battery life is good like before in jellybean. Performance is optimised a little bit. Only thing I noticed is that after upgrade my camera service stopped working. Not immediately but after one day. It said 'camera service is unavailable '. This occurs for the first time in 20 months I got my phone. So I simply switched off phone, turned on phone after 5 minutes and camera started working again. So if such things happens to you just follow the above steps or try reseting phone from reset button which is available next to sim sd card slot, it will not wipe your data. P.S. Restarting phone doesn't work, I had tried that already. You need to switch off the phone for some time.

Now come to the review Sony xperia z ultra is a device which should not be compared from the other phones in this price range It is super fast and after the 5.1 lollipop update it has become the fastest Lookwise it is an excellent phone. Others will surely ask that "bhai ye sony ka Kaun sa phone(model) hai" When it comes to camera I can only say that the camera is okk but great if u would compare the 8MP cameras of phones.Yes it has a major drawback of flash but in reality out of 10 times we only use flash 2-3 times so it doest matters me a lot. It's performance is superb and it's screen size is best for surfing net watching movies etc... And sony service is great,I was not able to hear the voice of other side clearly(blur voice is coming) I gave it to the nearest service center and they have replaced it with a new phone... Now come to the battery of the phone, I had come to many negative review about z ultra I want to ask them all what they all do with their phone. On an average after 100 percent charge u could use this beast a full day with average usage of whatsapp Facebook calls music etc etc.And if u are a heavy gamer as I am then u would get upto 3-4 hours of continuous gameplay which is a Great thing about a phone with such a big screen size and with Great hardwares inside it.... . I would only like to say that if u want a great phone which Can give u an amazing experience then u should buy this beast without any hesitation

After updating to 5.1.1 my Z Ultra is even more faster and more RAM available. But the funny thing after the upgrade is that the Dialpad is now too small and too compressed while there's a big or wide space to make the Dialpad really big. SONY's software enginer did not see this lousy dialpad. SONY release an update to make the dialpad really big like hell because the space is so wide.

Factory reset will fix this problem. Once I faced The same camera blur problem with my Sony Xperia Ion. I was disappointed with the problem. After software factory reset it was fixed successfully.Till now I never face the problem again.

I took my Ultra into the shower on Tuesday, unfortunately when I came out of the shower it stopped working, on looking closer, water seems to have seeped through into the phone, frosted both camera lens and water found in the sim compartment. Will not power up or charge at all. I'm still hoping it will recover within the next week or so, otherwise I shall try and get a replacement. As many others have said these phones aren't waterproof and I completely agree, other than that it's still the best phablet around.

Apps restarting... Usually the phone has about 15 apps in the "recent apps list". This is a cool feature. But the problem is when I select a recent app from this list while multi tasking (eg: suppose am using whatsapp and I want to jump to the fourth or fifth app in the list, say facebook, the facebook app starts from the beginning, means its taking time to reload the app.

Been using this phone for 2 years now and its outstanding. Dont care about flash if i want top quality pictures use finance Z1 or now Z3+ put in day light takes good pictures and video. This phone is also been great for watching videos on streaming services. I play games on it most of the day but connected to charger runs all day with no over heating issues but do have cooling app. The size is no problem fits in pocket and only ever a problem if iam driving a long distance can dig in. The durability of the phone has been good dropped many times and no issues. I work my phone hard with gamea movies and text service and no real problems. I cant wait for Z5+ as this oa the only phone i want now but if i go with the roumor's the screen will be smaller which i feel is a fall short of whats needed. Thanks Sony

I think it's ips lcd.The black are wonderful but the whites are slaugtely on the yellowish side. The colors are great and so are the viewing angles. The brightness is lesser than some amassing flagships but the colour reproduction is much better.

Download FREE APP AVAIRY photo editor. When mirrored photo is loaded and dispalyed, there are photo croping and enhancing tools at the bottom. Drag the tools to the left until you reach the ORIENTATION tool. Depress this tool button. Do not rotate left or right. Press the triangle up button. Your ZU has a faulty digitizer. You can replace only the digitizer (very risky, about 30EUR) or the whole assembly (easy, around 100EUR). Note: give a bit more money for the part because good quality copy parts are almost like Sony OEM parts sometimes evan better... Original assembly costs between 250 to 300EUR!

If you love good battery choose t2 ultra, I can get 13 hour screen on time watching HD movies with WiFi on. T2 camera is also better than Z ultra. Unfortunately, T2 ultra RAM only 1GB and I always experience problem because short of RAM. Z ultra is good in term of performance, big screen and waterproof.

They have stopped production of z ultra about 7 months back.For India c6802 model does not ahve 4g which airtel has just launched. I use it as a mini tablet. Cheers

Totally wrong, the quad core s800 chip inside the Z Ultra is much more powerful than the octa core mediatek chip inside the C5 Ultra, not the other way round. I would recommend the Z Ultra above the C5 Ultra, it's also larger and alot more sexier and premium looking that the C5 Ultra. The Z Ultra is now quite cheap and once the Z5 Ultra is released this will become even cheaper.

sides are kind of hard plastics. Back side is what material i really dont know but the dealer fixed two screen guard -one at the back and other in the front. There are some scratches at back on screen guard. This is a water proof phone. The phone cannot be opened at service center. it has to be sent to Delhi/Gurgaon where they have a Z ultra opening machine. The z ultra is kept on the machine and the machine lifts off the cover for changing any hardware. This info was given at the service center.

Huge display is good for video, browsing, gaming etc,. loud speaker is not loud enough, cam is good for day but bad for night, you can say cam is average. Due to Huge size of phone Its not easy to carry in jeans. This phone is almost out of stock. So if you broke it or if some problem comes up in phone, than you may face problems with service centre. Get a good protective case and screen guard if you buy it.

No service center can say that a phone cannot be repaired. Its their sole responsibility for repairing the phone. You can sue them for not repairing your phone. You can check that every spare of the phone is available on ebay.com. I am using this phone since a year and am having no issues with the phone, i wash it almost everyday no issues with it so far. Again visit the service center and ask them to give in writing that the phone cannot be repaired and forward the same to regional head of sony still if no use then approach customer court. So I got a brand new Sony Xperia Z Ultra LTE C6833 2 christmases ago and this has been my experience to date 1. You think Apple had 'Bendgate'issues ?! They've got nothing on Sony believe me !!! The first time I made the huge mistake of putting the phone in my back pocket (Loose jeans mind you) and after a few hours of being in there THE SCREEN CRACKED !! So I called Sony and they promptly NAILED ME FOR OVER $400 TO REPAIR IT !!Even goiing so far as to say the BATTERY ALSO Was damaged !! So I paid for it and started using it again as I do like the size of this phone (6.4" screen) Then yesterday I made the TERMINAL MISTAKE OF PUTTING IT IN MY FRONT POCKET THIS TIME (See, I do learn from my mistakes lol) of my loose fitting jeans. I have been using this mobile for last 7 months, and i hardly find any issue with this mobile. its performance also haven't decresed even i have installed many apps. And its 6.4inch display is very good and have very high brightness to use in sunny days, and have quick response. Problems -- Heating. solution -- Deep it into the water. Just try this - it may or may not work. settings-->sounds and Notification -->Audio settings--> put off the clear audio. In Sound effects-->equaliser put rock/pop whatever u r listening. In surround sound put studio. If it does not work - then there may be problem in head phones. If there is no problem in head phones then - new software need to be pumped. Yes i had mic as well as speaker problem. When i purchased the phone i was on kk 4.4.4. Then i upgraded to 5.01 thro PC companion. One more upgrade came to 5.02. Both 5.01 and 5.02 audio problem started - I could hear other person's voice and he could not hear my voice. It is then i gave the phone to service center. This has eximor Lens aperture is f/2.0 -4 mm . Though it is only 8 mp. The sharpness is better than most samsung phones with 13mp and f/2.2. If you screen mirror it on sony TV it looks superb. I have taken pic with Note3 & A7 and z ultra. Only disadvantage is no flash. Day light pics are good. The colors are more natural than a7. The selfie cam is 2Mp only. A7 has 5 mp cam.

Very slim and glossy finish. 2 gb of RAM assures flawless performance. Has Snapdragon 800 with 2.2 GHz so never lag. Qualcomm vellamo's scores are in top 5. Performance wise it can be called awesome. Superb multitasking. Waterproof and dustproof. Call quality is very good. Support pen and pencil for writing makes it better than note and tablets. Battery is quite sufficient for a day with moderate use. Has dock charger with fast charging technology. Also supports micro usb charging. Otg supported i.e. pendrive, mouse, keyboard etc. Good quality vacuum earphones;. Good camera quality but camera quality is not upto mark. No flash. Front camera is quite good. Camera has a feature of AR effects which introduce virtual objects and scenes which is quite good feature for fun and laugh. The major con of sony xperia searies is that sony xperia mobiles doesn't provide network provided 3G video calls. I have sent an email to Sony for this clarification and they have clarified that the whole xperia series doesn't support. You have to install third party software on both mobiles for making video calls i.e. skype, viber etc. Overall the phone is quite good as per the performance and price tag.

Well if you want more of a selfie special phone then you should buy c3 because it has a decent spec with flash for camera on both front and rear side also battery back is good, but if you want powerful performance then you should buy z ultra only camera is a big issue in this phone, battery back up is decent if you are a power user otherwise everything is good and t2 is similar to c3 except 13mp rear camera as c3 has 8mp rear. State-of-the-art design, extremely thin,waterproof, fast processor, excellent screen with enough definition for most purposes, great brightness and contrast in normal conditions, absolutely no problem holding it despite its highly criticised 6.4 inches (fits most of my pockets comfortably enough), and works great with pencils, stylus pens, and/or the dedicated Sony E22 stylus pen (though probably a simple pencil it works best). My friends do certainly mock my "smaller version of a Bravia TV", but to be honest, that's the aspect I seem to enjoy the most: its wonderful screen! What would I improve? Probably better viewing angles and more contrast in situations where there's considerable sunlight. Speaker quality leaves much to be desired with both phone calls and listening to music. The screen resists all scratches, true, but the original Sony protective foil it's covered with from out of the box scratches veeeery easily (no warning from the company on this, though), and if you decide to replace it, you'll hate to discover the Sony logo comes right off with it, rather than being printed on the glass itself! Sony, what were you thinking? We fans like seeing the Sony logo printed on our Xperia phones! As to the camera, it's nothing to write home about, but gets decent pictures even in low light thanks to its sensor. No flash, no, but have yet to run into a situation where I would actually need one. So no complaints on this side. Maybe an upgrade for the camera and an in-built flash unit would ultimately satisfy a wider audience. All in all, I think Sony has provided us, mainly visual individuals who like a big HD screen, with a nice piece of technology to enjoy watching videos and films, surf the net, read PDF files, and play games, but that would rather carry a phone-sized tablet around instead of an 8 or 10 inch full-blown tablet. This from a phablet segment fan's perspective.

Worst phone I have ever used till date. My pointwise review is as under: 1. Extremely poor picture quality in low light for lack of flash 2. Extremely meak voice output from speakers 3. USB cover gets broken of all phones very early and charge for this tiny useless hindrance causing cover is Rs. 800/- at Sony Service Stations 4. Keeps handing even if you do not install single app from playstore 5. I have been facing voice distortion in earphone and voice breaking since beginning but there is no solution to it with the service centre even. They keep befooling you to keep waiting for further updates. 6. Extremely pathetic post sale service. Service Centre persons shall not even take your phone for checking the faults. There main concern is to find faults with the customer and mobile service provider and return the handset immediately. I shall never get trapped for Sony brand name!

Pictures are brilliant in daylight . they are better than samsung 13mp camera bcoz of Eximor. There are no heating issues with 5.02. Only drawback is no flash and slightly big to handle. But you can read books, see maps have gr8 view of vdo/cam. read mail, chat on whatsapp and screen mirror is instant. Good OTG. For 13990 it is a steal. Resale value is good . see olx

This phone is partially water proof and dirt proof. This phone cannot be opened at service center. It does not have any screws. It has to be send to a center in Gurgaon/delhi where there is machine which opens the phone for changing the hardware or battery. At Service center only good software is pumped in. This is the back ground. There is micro usb inlet which has a cover which needs to be opened for charging. In the magnetic Dock you have to just slide the phone inside a grove and put the switch on. Both the methods can be used for charging. But the magnetic dock eliminates the cover removing process. Daily removing cover is a little tedious. i hope i have make this lucid and clear.

Charging is not by magnet. It is a stand for both viewing and charging. There are two insertions/attachment - one for charging and another for viewing. There is a magnet [small strip] which holds the phablet. If you have cover you need to remove that and then place on the magnetic dock.

I am very upset from Sony , Xperia Z Ultra is not waterproof as they claim , I went to pool for 30 seconds wit it & water came in while all covers were firmly closed & when i went to Sony agent in Egypt , my devise was 60 % working while they made it total loss by sinking it in water to determine if covers are working or not , despite devise is in guarantee they refused to fix it free , a case in court is submitted , Sony is not telling the truth about this devise . I purchased this phone since Sep 2013. Contrary to comments from 'annonymous' the screen does not crack easily. I have dropped my phone a couple of times and it is still working. I also had an iPhone. The screen crack immediately when dropped. It was launched early 2013 in Asia and sold like hotcakes, and it is still selling. They did not decrease price due to lack of sale. LOVE this phone. My friends have to carry ipad and phone when travelling. I only need the sony. It fits into any handbag. The size is PERFECT for travelling. Not too big like the clumsy ipad. Screen resolution is awesome, ... even my photos look better.. love everything about this phone. I hope they retain this model for a long time.

If I take 5+ snaps in the camera, the phone becomes very hot.... Often, it's very slow and automatically opens many pages / apps on its own. This phone is not at all user friendly. Maybe IPS LCD PANEL or maybe TFT LCD panel..antutu benchmark test said this device is IPS LCD PANEL...i remind u this device not equip with normal cheap tft lcd panel..this is triluminos lcd..i m compare this device with my brother using lenovo a889 IPS LCD..this LCD is very beautyful natural colour than lenovo a889.,its very sharp and crips..not oversatured colour..all looks natural,awesome..i have been use samsung galaxy s2 long time a go but display like candy crush saga cartoon,lol..

Please do not buy Sony phones, I had a terrible experience with them with my old Xperia Play. It had a minor problem of screen not turning on at full brightness, I gave it for repair under warranty with one month of warranty remaining. They fixed the brightness, but after keeping the phone for a month with my warranty expiring. When I took the phone back home, I found the motherboard has a short, it would not charge. After I somehow managed to charge the battery externally, the phone would drain the battery in 15 minutes and become burning hot. By the time I realized this, no Sony representative would help me, and they asked for 10k rupees to fix it. I spent hours at their repair centers waiting, worst experience I have ever had. I finally had to throw the phone away. Will never buy a Sony product ever again.

it's bad to tell you that this device doesn't embedded with flash light , which mean you get terrible image at night . But if what you want is use it as a torch , come on please , this 6.4 inch beast can light your room up with SCREEN LIGHT ONLY man .

As far as i realized there is one for me important fix. that is that applications that i ran lately reopen where they were (facebook, chrome, tumblr) and they don't reload from the beginning like in previous lollipop. I haven't seen any other differences, but the one i mentioned was very important to me.

I already solved my previous problem with this mobile phone. As i mentioned before, my sony xperia z ultra had a ghost touch or phantom clickering which is enable it to random touch and send message automatically.If i click the lock button then wiped the wet screen, it will back normal. Then after a year, i had read all the users opinions bout this problem, and this problem can be solved by applying the tempered glass screen protector. I plan to tried. Then the result come!!! Omg! It worked! I really loved this phone ever.

You are right it's waterproof ,I dropped many times in basket and washing Many no problems and then go to care they upgrade lollipop and till now it has warranty I also dropped on the floor badly with screen face but no scratches and no touch problem occur

Working nice after lollipop update battery performance is same as before as it was in jellybean and kitkat. Performance improved over kitkat. Only thing I am noticing is that sometimes is mobile data gets disconnected automatically and you have to restart phone once or twice. But it may service provider's fault

Lollipop 5.0.2 mini review Getting 45 minutes more screen on time while WiFi browsing. 5 hours 40 minutes(kitkat was around 4 hours 45 minutes). Cell radio on. 25% screen brightness. Chrome browser. Page loading is snappier on lollipop Getting 90 minutes more screen on time while watching videos. screen brightness 70%. 1080p.mkv video files. 5000+ bitrate. 12+ hours vs 9.5 hours for kitkat. Airplane mode activated. No nasty niggles or issues to report except the fact that maybe just maybe the call quality was better on kitkat. Camera performance just as bad as b4. I use stamina mode all the time, in 5.0.2 there is another power saving feature which restricts processor performance and it really does work. Only problem is if the phone has been dormant for a while(overnight) it take 1-2 seconds for apps to open, there is lag but only for if the phone has been in deep sleep for more than a few hours, once they have been used its all smooth and fast. Don't use this feature and its business as usual. I don't use the clear all apps feature ever. For all the brouhaha surrounding the notification centre of lollipop I find it less intuitive than Kitkat. Lollipop dialer not as intuitive or user friendly as kitkat or jellybean IMO. Interruptions... WTF Google WTF. Fresh after updating battery life was not as good as Kitkat because the guest user feature is on by default, it is a resource hog and drains battery like a MOFO. Disable it. Even after disabling some background indexing keeps going on for a few days. Give the Lollipop OS a week b4 passing judgement on the battery life. Sony just announced 5.1 update for the entire Z series. SWEEEET

The Lollipop upgrde is great . The ocon size is bigger but just nice . There is no problem to make a call or receive call at all ( Some complaints on making/ receiving calls are not true ) . The ringer volume also same as before . No lag issue . I am satisfied with the upgrade .Please do not post any false experience here .
