just download beat_engine.exe its a software that can convert mp3 files to tbd. file thus you need this software for you to be able to transfer music files into you fone. just search the software through internet :)

actually, once you insert your sim, you will get a prompt that your network will be sending the gprs and mms settings... i have never had problems with mms and gprs on this phone :)

You can either use normal USB bluetooth device or USB cable to connect this phone with PC and use it as a modem. Both works fine. Install driver first. Then attatch cable with PC. Now in your phone's menu, go to Settings >>> Connectivity >>> USB >>> Data Transfer. Now your phone acts as a modem. You can't copy songs or music in this mode. Select "Music Transfer" mode to do these. You can't browse in "Music transfer" mode.

Most probably you are in T9 input mode. Just press and hold * button for a few seconds to switch to normal input mode. Press 0 for space.

For the model Toshiba TS803 you no need use 'Beat Engine' to copy MP3 files in it. But for the model Toshiba 803T you must've to use 'Beat Engine'. To work with 'Beat Engine' just make sure your self phone number stored in your 803t's "my details" in it's contacts is the same as in the number stored in 'beat engine' software.

Also it'll no longer be in "MP3" format so that you won't be able to play it in another device. 3. Now after connecting USB cable, go to the menu Settings >> Connectivity >> USB >> and here select �Music transfer mode� in your mobile. Now you�ll see a new drive in �My Computer� in your PC. 4. Go to that drive, and go to the folder like �M:\PRIVATE\VODAFONE\My Items\Sounds & Ringtones�. And here is the most important trick� that is DO NOT create any folder under a folder in it. That is you can create a folder named �John Denver� under the folder �Sounds & Ringtones�� but DO NOT create any folder under �John Denver� folder. Only you can put MP3 files under �John Denver� folder. 5. You can create another folder named �George Michel� under �Sounds & Ringtones� folder. Just copy and paste MP3 files in it. Nothing else. hi, i downloaded the beat engine software, but i dont have usb devise to transfer music to my phone. i have card reader but unfortunately my sd card is not fitting in it. i have my friends card which fits into the card reader, is there any way i can transfer music to my phone. i was thinking to first transfer the music from beat engine to my frnds sd card and then from that sd card i will tansfer music files( which are converted to .tbd) to my phone through bluetooth, will it work?

to JASON AND ZALDY:...conversion of firmware in davao city cost as much as 1000 or less than...it depends on the technitian you are into...you can find it on davao city at lachmi mall,san pedro st, davaO city..and look for the repairing stall named AKTA CELL SHOP...look for alan...... and if you are having problems with the headfone,,,im sorry to tell but you can only buy accessories at the authorized toshiba distributor...or toshiba costumer service centers...

trudetrudy..juz go to V! appli, den master reset it..it happens if u change sim card..if u put some other ppl's sim card in it and on the phone, it will be like lock to the sim card somehow..so u must put the person's sim card, master reset it, before putting in yours..hope it helps :)

to those who have problems with this phone,the best thing you do is to convert ur firmware in china version,(this fone is now ubiquitous in davao city),in that way, your phone can be able to play mp3 files,and connect to the computer easily...,,all i know is you can find the china firmware at davao city... but if you want your fone to play mp3 in good quality,megapixel autofokus camera and 3g,,,just buy ericsson phones.(k810i)very nice fone and surely you wont regret it!!!...hehehehe....

I need help! A message appears on my screen after i press menu. Its says ( Settings information downloaded from Network. Start retrieval NW information?) When i press YES, it says ( Cannot perform this operation due to network failure.) But my network is fine when i go on the internet. Mine is Japanese firmware. Great things about this phone- camera is great quality. pictures and videos are very good. Mp3 is clear and loud. Message input is easier after getting used to it. -------------- I spent a few hours trying to transfer my mp3 files using beatbox. I transferred all my songs except some. (phone says file can't be played). ANYWAY- before tranferring music files, you install beatbox software. NEXT, you make sure to install all usb drivers using the cd). THEN, from beatbox software, you have to set your mobile number. (this can be changed if you switch usim cards). ALSO set your mobile number in your phone under CONTACTS. ---then connect your phone using the USB. while its connected to the computer, go to SETTINGS on your phone, and then CONNECT(USB). Set it to music transfer. (Dont worry about the offline thing.) Then open beatbox software. You can add all your mp3 files to library. Then, transfer to your phone. WHEN you are done, go to file on beatbox and quit. then disconnect your phone. MP3 files should be able to play. Some files can't play eg: files that have 96kbps can't be played.

u can use a card reader to download mp3 to ur cellphone but u also neet a beat engine software to download.ok.in converts mp3 to tbd file.tbd file is only acceptable format for toshiba cellphone.it can also play mp3 format if ur cellphone is using uk firmware.

i just got this phone, um kinda liked it as its my first japanese phone, heres my review Pros: buttons are easy to press and bit screen is pretty good 8/10 really smooth and fast interface NICE camera , with a lot of functions Didnt test the sound quality yet Cons: I wish i didnt get the red color (im a guy), looks kinda pink from the side Little bit too big for my pocket but acceptable heres my review for the first day of the 803t, ill give a second review after i use it more.

I had similar problems with this phone with sending music to it and playing with beat engine, i found out that you need to have your FULL phone number under tool-->settings the full phone number should be country code, area code and phone number took me a few days but after i put in the country code it worked perfectly loving the phone... good luck

just got my 803t today it's a cool phone i have to say, it's just that, im a bit confused someone said it's a lot easier to send mp3 through bluetooth adapter than usb, and someone sai that you can play aac files and it's better because all you have to do is put the aac files in a drm folder and it will play, now im reading that you have to use the beat box engine... and so far no one shed a bit of light on this matter... sigh...

Don't bother looking for the USB cable. Just get a USB bluetooth adapter on Ebay for 10 bucks. You can xfer all your pics/vids/mp3s from the phone to the pc via the bluetooth. Cheap and easy. USB cable was going for $30-40

I got this phone last week n me didnt have ne problems transferring mp3s. Just follow these simple steps 1)connect the phone to the pc via usb. 2)Go to the phone menu-settings-connectivity-USB-music transfer. 3)Go to my computer where u will find a removable disk icon which is your phone.4)Then just copy your desired mp3 from your pc n paste it to the removable disk. Just remember 1 thing the bitrate of the mp3s should be 192kb or below. Hope it will help u all Sufian

Thank to peoples who posted in this thread I finnaly get my mp3 played. There are just 3 points: 1. MP3 file must be below 192 KBps 2. You need to set your phone number in Beat Engine 3. You need to set your phone number in your phone (My Details) If the phone number in Beat Engine and in the phone don't match, the file cannot be played. It's likely that toshiba use the phone number to encrypt the file

I have bought the Toshiba TS803 and it's simply great except one thing - when I try to transfer pictures from phone memory and attach the usb cable with the phone , a message on the phone's display says " waiting " . I've installed both MyMobile and toshiba mobile music in my computer. Even when the phone's connected by a USB cable with the computer , it can't detect the phone in MyMobilePhones.Any idea why ?

On PC -Open BeatEngine goto setting --->> type 123456789 On the phone Phonebook --> my detail ---> edit your phone number to 123456789 then you can connect your phone to PC then tranfer the mp3 file to your phone .. 1234566789 can change to whatever you want but that digit on your phone and your Beatengine must be match... ^^

I got no problems with that . the camera is too good and the battery time is so kool... ----For the problem with BeatEngine You're better got atleast 1 software MP3 converter .So u can convert anytype of audio format to mp3 with 44000 Mhz Stereo 128kbps 192 64 or whatever u wanted. plunin the usb cable then set the phone to tranfer music that mode make your phone like flash driver . so turn on the Beatengine then add mp3 file you like to.. click tranfer .. that s alll .. You have to creat a playlist in the phone for playing ---For problem with set ringtone Thats phone only get *.mmf file type to ringtone .So you must convert your audio file to mmf format file .. then send to the phone by bluetooth then you can set them to ringtone ... Hi! I used toshiba 803t too.My friend make ringtone for me. She change mp3 file to mmf flie. Thati's work.The Song's same mp3. But it plays only 16 seconds. And video file is .3pg file and it must very small. I think that video doesn't clear.

Hi all, just to let all of u know that this phone can only support mp3 as ringtone only if it is using the Hong Kong Firmware. Whereas if this phone if using the Japan Firmware, it can't support mp3 files as ringtone.

If you want mp3s to work on your 803T you need to have the following: 1. mp3 must be in 128kbps 2. The phone number on beat engine must match the phone number in your phone details. (My Details is in Phonebook) 3. Use the Beat Engine program to transfer over your to phone. So if your phone number says 19051234567 then in beat engine it must state 19051234567. great mp3 phone. LOUD speakers plus you can use your own headphones. the only downside: - you need to use Beabox software to import mp3s and cant just copy songs to the folder-no such soft for Macs. - NO PREDICTIVE Text!!! this is VERY annoying. I believe this is cuz my phone is japanese. otherwise a very cool looking phone.

i've been using this phone for four month now. 1) the phone is perfect for me, mp3 is easy to use, just don't connect that with the usb to transfer songs. i put my minisd card into my computer to transfer songs. 2) minisd card is up to 1gb, not 2gb 3) one big issues, when connected bluetooth headset with the phone. when people call, it will have no ringtone. you have to wear your bluetooth headset all the times.

tommy... i have this fone too... the trick is, load up beat box engine, go into tools, then settings, put in ur phone number, remember to include the 1, then drag and drop into the first window, then transfer with the middle button... also, nothing over 192 kbs bit rate will work..hope that helps

i brought this phone the other day and i was trying to put mp3 in the memory card and i also tried to use the cd rom that came with it but neither of them worked. could someone tell me the process of moving mp3 files from the pc to the mini sd and mp3 from the pc using the software provided which is called beat engine thanks!

I have a SanDisk, 128 mb, but that doesn't matter, because it won't play files from its memory either. Maybe it only plays original mp3's or something, and not pirated music.

I didn't try to use the mp3 player at first, but when i did, i couldn't. It doesn't see the mp3s that I put on the card, only very few, which can't be played. Does anyone know why? Does it have a limitation of some sorth? Do the mp3s have to be original or something in order for it to see and play them?

mp3 ringtone is possible , but u wil need 2 get it unlocked 1st . orelse the easy way is 2 convert mp3 in2 mmf format , which is simple 2 do . some ppl think the fonebk is a mess jus cos they arent used 2 the japanese style , but myself i was a nokia user , at the beginning it was like hell, but quickly got used 2 it :)

I've come back with some details about the camera. In sunlight, pictures taken to objects not too far (a few meters) are very clear, as if it would have autofocus. Objects that are far, like buildings or threes are not so clear, especialy if they don't have direct sunlight. Indoors or in the night, pictures are bad. Colours are great, "CCD power" ! The settings available in the menu are great, a lot of small details that together make up quality ( operator name on the screen *yes *no, folder password, different led colours for different warnings, etc.). And the design of the phone is stylish, it looks much better in reality than in the pictures, especialy when it is open, deppending of it's colour. On the whole, a great phone, a great brand. To those of you who want picture quality i suggest you buy TS 921 model, for it's autofocus.
