agreed cx 180 is best earphone very deep n heavy bass but soft also and mids very clear and no issue with high. personally i dont like in ear type headphones.. but this thing is amazaing.. sennheiser is very reputed brand and i m fully satisfied.. curruntly i m using it with nokia 6.1(2018) one last thing fitting is very important if cx 180 is not fitting properly in your ears... then u will not get the best output... thank you

Been using this phone for the past 2 years now, first off, it has TOO MUCH bloatware, that isn't even customisable to translate to english, secondly, this phone's software updates are horrible, in which Xiaomi (or Redmi) do not actually test updates for bugs and the such, instead removing them as they are reported in later updates. Thirdly, if you like even the hint of normal, don't look for it in here. Apps and features are constantly given revamps every 6 months or so, in which app shapes (eg, squarish to a circle) and the task manager, which you get from pressing the three lines, turned from swipe up to clear, to swipe left and right to clear, something about "saving space". This phone is also not very structurally safe, bending easily and scratching at 6 Mohs and having little indents at 3 Mohs All in all, buy another android phone if you have the money

The realistic question, not everyone has PC or laptop, and not everyone know how to flash custom ROM, it is all some much more manual work that might cause the smartphone to brick if not properly follow the steps. Then, there is also no guarantee or warranty after flashing custom ROM. Yes, the device itself by the time of writing almost 3 years old, already long out of warranty, but people still need to have caution on custom ROM.

Well, as always, outdated smartphone doesn't get proper revamp on software and also not providing longetivity plan for easier battery replacement for extending the smartphone life time, or proper replacable eMMC memory that degrade performance after long usage. All smartphone manufacturers just want to earn more by expecting buyer to ditch their outdated smartphone and buy the latest model they release each years. Of course Google is the bigger part to blame where they can't support every hardware platform properly. Then, providing longer support also means need to spend more money for software engineers to maintain the devices, which doesn't add to manufacturer earning.

At the end, it is about personal preference, some people like the absolute simplicity of stock Android, some like the more features and more customizable UI, of course with some performance degrade because of poorer optimization. Then, pricing actually comes as the more realistic factor. In fact the proper stock Android experience phone such as Google Pixel series, Android One series, some might say Oneplus and Motorola UI are close to stock Android, are actually more expensive today than others almost equivalent speced smartphone. Good or bad? At least Xiaomi is a proper brand that got maintain their smartphone software for years, despite not every updates give positive fixes, but their price to performance ratio are among the highest.

Even I had this problem until I discovered that some options were enabled which was creating the problem. In WIFI settings one option is set. The option is tyhat phone will scan for the wifi hotspots even if the wifi is disabled using google location thing. Do disable that.

Yes the issue got out of control.. my device is giving about 2 to 2.5 hours of battery backup after 10.2 latest update. Battery indicator in battery management is showing steep degrade of power. How to resolve this problem. I think the last one was perfect and regretting to update into this.

Miui 10.2.1.0 last stable miui update now available. Fixes lots of bugs. Headphone detection bug is finally fixed. So are issues with volte and sim detection. Good ram management. New boost speed ui in security app. "Follow us" in settings - about phone .All elements of miui 9 have been removed and updated to miui 10. Recents panel has the new ui found on other miui 10 devices. Notifications have been fixed. Excellent last stable update. Goodbye kenzo.(atleast officially). I guess the XDA community will keep this device alive for another 2 years or so.

After 3 year of using, this phone still powerful and has changed at least 5 Android version that I installed in this device. From Lollipop to Pie. I'm using stock android ROM--Pixel Experience--due uninspiring bloatware and bad RAM management. This device currently priced about 70-80 bucks. Redmi Note 3 now becomes entry level smartphone and I wouldn't recommended to buy this phone in 2019 due aging on hardware chips that may affect your phone lifespan and heating issue when running some intense 3D games--Pokemon GO, PUBG. Camera still OK but bit better with Pixel GCam Port. Screen is OK too. Battery is also getting bit downgrade performance due aging and cycle count more than 1000. Antutu 7.1.3 managed to get 101k--which way higher than A2 Lite and nearly caps SnD636--in terms overclocking it and run Antutu in freezer to prevent Thermal Throttling.

If i want to change screen temperature, if i want dual apps, only custom ui is good option.lots of features with out third-party apps, thats why i likes cusom ui like miui, emui,touchwiz, zen ui. I don't know the score as now i am on aosp extended...but it was super smooth..On top of all that antutu benchmark is lagging as hell on pie roms...It often freezes on 2nd video and doesn't run further..I ran geekbench on aosp extended i got 1465 in single core and around 3379 on multicore...Multicore was not that good but single core score was decent..Arrow is much refined rom as its been there for more than 3 months..Aosp extended is still in its 1st build. Regarding build numbers. I always tend to install 1 update a month. In case of arrow, generally around 10th or 11th of the months build as it includes the latest security patch. Good luck.

I have tried Arrow latest build but due to most important features that I use in MIUI (bluetooth calls, locking apps in recents, clear all button) are lacking in Arrow, I'm sticking with MIUI.

Its the fault of miui dev team to wrongly put miui 9 in front of miui version 10.1.1.0...Com'mon you are using this phone for the past 2.5 years and don't even know that miui versions coincide with rom build number...miui 9.6.2.0 is miui 9...so miui 10.1.1.0 is miui 10..no xiaomi will never update android versions of miui devices...redmi note 3 will be stuck on marshmallow and redmi note 4 will be stuck on nougat. This is probably the last miui update for our device..its really nice...highly recommended..for android versions, use a pie based custom rom... I'm on arrow os on my 2nd redmi note 3..its awesome...

I am very sorry but this mobile phone has disappointed me, it has been the worst mobile phone I have had, it has not lasted, not even 2 years has started to break in on both sides and the battery runs out in less than 5 minutes. With the passage of time the phone does not even charge 100% even if you leave it all day and it stays frozen very often. It heats up quickly and automatically restarts

I have try putting 64GB and 128GB card before, all can be detected and can be read and write. However, here is the catch: 1. All your apps data cannot be installed to the Micro SD card, you can only store all media files to micro SD card, such as picture and video file. 2. For the Micro SD card to be detected, you can only format it to FAT32 file system format, which limiting the file size cannot over 4GB. Meaning the video file that is over 4GB cannot store to the Micro SD card, and this phone only read FAT32 formatted Micro SD card. No problem with the size of Micro SD card be it 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, all can be read without issue. You can put in the card and let the phone format it, then it can be used.

1.5 amp is recieved by device from usb to micro-usb cable of charger.I personally use sony 5v 3amp charger and have no issue like heating burning etc. In some cases charging ic burns when micro usb port is moist,wet. Otherwise no problem.

RIP Redmi Note 3 (MIUI 7 - MIUI 10.2). It will receive stable MIUI 10.2 next year January as the last one. For developer version, it is the upcoming MIUI 10 dev 8.11.22 as the LAST one. Here is the link: For next year, I suggest you guys go and use custom ROM / stick with stable ROM if you still hold dear to it. OR it's just time to upgrade to Redmi Note 5 at least, but that comes with Anti-Rollback Protection being enforced. Another way is if you don't mind the NOTCH, get Redmi Note 6. Another option is to get 2nd hand Redmi Note 4 but that is also going the way of the dodo as possibly MIUI 11.x will be the last one. So going by Xiaomi's software upgrade logic as of now, all Xiaomi smartphones and tablets as of current will only get 4 major MIUI updates which is down from the previous 5 major MIUI updates last year. IMHO, now it's just another PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE for you to upgrade to a newer device every 3 years which costs more than what you have. Although I applaud Xiaomi for giving long MIUI software support for it's devices, I am guessing Google (ever since Treble) is FORCING smartphone OEMs like Xiaomi to only have 3 year software support, in line with Google's update policy.

Which Samsung phone you are comparing? This Redmi Note 3 using SD650 that inherit the 28nm processor, which of course will heat. Samsung phone before that period is much overheated than this phone, because using 28nm processor. Only the newer Samsung phone that utilized 14nm and 10nm are less heated, but still heated. This phone also much more durable and much better performance if compared to similar priced Samsung phone, and much less heated too if you really compare side by side. I'm not praise for the sake of praising. I'm ex-Samsung user too. After using Xiaomi smartphone, I never turn back.

Whatever charger you use, turbo, normal, Qualcomm QC, dash charger, VOOC, Super Charger, they won't burn your phone. This Redmi Note 3 will only charge at 5V/1A even if you plug in to those fast charger. So, no problem if you charging it with turbo charger, but it won't charge at turbo speed. It will just charge at normal speed.

I don't care what others has said, this phone is the benchmark of affordable smartphone of that time. It's specs reflect some of the high end things you can find on a high end smartphone such as 5.5" Full HD screen, metal back body, SD650 processor, 4050mah battery. However, it is just sell for a fraction of price. I did not own them, but had help 5 people owning it and they all praise for the phone performance, something they never experienced at such low price. The updates to MIUI 9 improve the UI fluidity by miles and it is one of the smoothest smartphone around which just cost little compared to those high end. The only thing now they complain is the aging battery life, which all smartphone suffer after few years, and I suggest a battery replacement will bring new life to it. As for the storage problem, I think MIUI's Mi Cloud did hide some rubbish into the phone. Probably unsync and logout the Mi Account, then factory reset the phone, install back all the apps you want would restore the space you have long lost. Please don't use the Mi Cloud and your phone would be better. Then, turn off those user experience program, and turn off those ads service, then you got a very good phone at affordable price. All in all, those phones are still working and are still impressively workable just for any task, despite it is only Android 6.0.1.

You can't get the best of both world. Here is the updating policy of Xiaomi, they only update Android version on the Mi series and Mix series. They only promise one Android version update on Redmi series, the rest of the life time would be MIUI version updates, at least you get almost similar features across the Xiaomi smartphone even the Android version is not updated. Now tell me which company even bother to upgrade their lower end series to include their latest UI feature? Google them self? Even Samsung didn't bother to update their own low end series, you get almost zero update from Samsung if it is their low end phone. I admit they got their ads service, but it at least can be turn of partially, and only got ads in their own Xiaomi ads, just like any apps you use in Android, Facebook, Instagram, and all the free game you like to play on Android smartphone. So, it is the weird logic on you. It is ok to have ads on those free apps as it is forced just to be there, but complain whole bunch when the phone UI itself has ads. You shouldn't use smartphone at all. Go back to the basic phone without any internet connection. Then, you praise for it's hardware and cheap price, but never appreciate the MIUI. Now tell me where Google the stock Android sell at such low price? Now Xiaomi even offer Android One smartphone at cheap price if you intentionally hate MIUI. Need I say more for a brand that really work hard to sell comparable quality product at low price? If you can't afford Oneplus and Google Pixel smartphone, then stop bashing here. Not everyone are fond to stock Android experience. Many people just want a powerful, usable and affordable Android smartphone on normal everyday life usage. There is nothing what MIUI can't do, and what stock Android can. There are also not many feature missing as it is just Android 6.0 compare to the latest Android 9.0. You can always praising for the latest Android version update, but you won't fully utilize those latest features, as mostly 99% of time you are just using apps, not the feature from the Android itself.

They could have just given a nougat update and split screen wouldn't have been so buggy as it is now. Anyways Xiaomi makes the best hardware at a competitive cost. Sorry i cant help you much but you should try cleaning your mobile with security app preloaded on your device,there is cleaner app too. Clear cached data in your storage setting. You can download third party apps from play store like clean master, du speed booster, 360 security cleaner,etc. Some times users data are cleared by these apps if not operated carefully. Before clearing see what you/app has selected to delete/clear.check/uncheck or tick/untick items you want to delete. Hope this helps you bro. Good luck!

Yes really!!! My battery charging is perfectly fine, The only bug I found is in the split screen, if you try to do split screen, phone freezes for 15-20secs... Post that again works normal.

Im on miui 9.6.2.0 stable rom. After few days usage i see that device is showing wrong battery percentage.it is not showing real percentage. It was indicating 13% when i plugged the charger handset shut down showing charging at 2%. One more bug i noticed after every boot screen pops out with "unfortunately,KLO bugreport has stopped" . Miui is buggiest rom i have to say.

Hahahaa, there is no alpha testing.Only beta rom i.e. developers rom which is released only for development purpose.beta rom contains lots of error in its software which is removed later on basis of feedback of users, mobile sends anonymous usage data,which helps them to remove/fix errors in os. After that they release stable rom.but they miss something everytime.That is why updates are suspended.

Split screen feature is usefull.few improvement s in system user interface like app uninstall shortcut in installed apps, messaging chats got new options and shows system storage seperately in storage option. This is last update of miui 9 on this device as far i know. Next will be miui 10 stable which is already available as developer (beta 8.9.20) rom.

After the update I found no other issues. 1.Battery consumption is better now. 2.Internal memory also freed upto 3.5gb. 3.VolTE icon in the notification bar is now smaller. (May be to free-up bar space) 4.Recent UI has also changed and now can faster switch between other apps. 5.New keyboard provided (but can be unstalled easily) 6.RAM is optimised. Will keep updated if I found any other new feature or any bug.

MIUI is a junk phone. Old bugs don't get fixed, newer bugs are added in new updates. My Note 3 had the issue that while on call, microphone works properly only when I put it on speaker or when I use earphones. After the update, the voice recorder quality has become real CRAP! Yes,you can switch from zcx to twrp recovery.Your bootloader must be unlocked to install third party roms. You will be able to download updates for your specific rom becouse they fix bugs and add new features from time to time.Good Luck!

Last year I used GPS a lot to drive inside the city and the this issue popped up. I always lose the GPS signal on the same few area in the city. In those areas, I noticed the mobile data dropping from 4g (LTE) to 3g (H, H+). I borrowed a RN3 from a friend and the GPS signal was great, even in 3g. The only difference was the sim card carrier. Swapping my sim card to another carrier solved the issue. Here are all carriers I tested on Brazil, forcing mobile data to 3g: Tim: GPS signal lost; Oi: GPS signal lost; Claro: GPS signal works. All RN3 used are snapdragons with 3gb ram / 32gb internal.

These, I would say, very depend on chipset, and also the apps compatibility. From your point, yes, it doesn't matter, just get a workable phone then issue solved. But from technical point, it can be one of those issues mentions, the chipset, apps itself, and the Android system version. I have encounter this issue regardless of brand, and chipset, probably the Snapdragon 650 is the less popular one that caused the problem. My imported RN3 Snapdragon 650, however, doesn't suffer the issue you have. (At least tested overall long distance, then also test with a Xiaomi phone called Mi Max with SD650 too, also no issue) I suffer one of these on OPPO Find 7 phone, Snapdragon 801, it get disconnected in the middle of tracking the most obvious. Then won't update the location.(Both Waze and Google Map having the same issue, even other GPS apps) The solution? You guess? I set my data to 2G, then everything work fine, no single disconnected. (I am also on U Mobile) I also can't explain why. Then, the problem only happen at some area, this also I very curious, at particular area, no such issue, even set to 3G. Then at particular issue, it start having issue, and is very obvious repeated issue. So, really, it may not be the phone issue, I believe is chipset (the processor). Not because of America, but because of the chipset model compatibility. I test with Redmi Note 2 with Mediatek Helio X10, also no such issue. (Issue happen regardless of brand) Weird issue, I would say. At of now, I retest the OPPO Find 7 phone, the gps issue is gone. I do nothing, just keep updating the GPS apps, that's it. (That is why I believe part of the issue also on apps compatibility too, simply some apps just work fine on some GPS modem, or they secretly fix the issue in the updates)

I used to be redmi die hard fans , their high cp value always attracted me (pay less for higher spec), but xiaomi and snap dragon really disappointed me too much. I used to had a redmi note 3 (snap dragon 650) last few month , and then it gps became not working (only 10% success rate to get connected ) and i thought is my phone faulty so i changed to asus zenfone 4 max pro (snapdragon 425), i straight away notice that it still same problem on the fresh new set , gps not working (telco is umobile malaysia), this time i suspect is telco problem , i tried change other telco(maxis), still the same . used for 1 week i decided to change to another new phone , redmi 5 plus (note 5), gps is really crucial for my works , i am grab car driver . but who know . what the heck, it end up still the same , fresh unit with gps not working!! trust me , i really tried thousand way to solve it like download agps app , airplane mode etc , all rubbish which not working. this time not only the gps not working , the call history also got problem (it will hang and wait about 30 sec to display the caller history and saved contact ) I gave up , i fed up so much with snap dragon, the dream about usa chipset quality is better become broken. this time i bought huawei with own processor kirin 960(honor 8pro ) , first day tested , all perfect awesome, gps connected in 5 sec ,tried longer for 1 week , speedy and responsive , no regret to prove that , i bought another low end samsung which using own exynos processor for my spare phone , also working perfectly! what a bloody hell experience, i wont believe usa chip is better anymore , snapdragon and qualcom product will be permanent banned in my life , do you guys encounter same problem here ? the gps not working and call history contact lag and delayed display(10-15s)

Of course you can, the only downside is the file format on the SD card must be only FAT32 (even OTG pendrive must be FAT32, so when it say it can't read the OTG memory, it is because it is not FAT32). This will limit the single file size to maximum only 4GB, it won't store anything bigger than 4GB. Of course, this would be non-issue if we just stored camera images, and short video recorded from the phone. Normal SD card from the market already pre-formatted to NTFS file system. So far tested up to 128GB also no problem.

Yours seems are just common issues on every smartphone, even iPhone and Samsung suffer on these without proper care. For me, I have this phone for 2 years, China import, but I flashed it with Global ROM, now comes with proper Google Play, and frequent official OTA updates, everything works fine until today. I am also abusing this phone and it survive the abuse nonetheless. Bought when it is down to $150, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, I have no complain so far. (In fact, it is much less complain and headache than my previous more expensive Samsung which start obvious lag, auto restart for no reason after half years. This one stay stable until today)

I'd recommend AGAINST buying this phone. I've had this phone for two years now: Bought it Juli 2016 from geekbuying (worst "service" ever, took them 3 months to get it to me while it was "in stock" and after a lot of emailing they "forgot" the papers which cost me a huge fine). I had software problems after a few months (LAG! So much lag!) and after less than a year it was so bad I needed a re-install because RAM memory will NOT properly empty so I effectively have about 600mb RAM. The build quality is poor. The screen sticks out on top beyond the protection of the sides so a case is mandatory or it will break at the first fall. After about a year the aluminum back started warping and bent to the outside at the SIM slot and the volume and off buttons started responding badly too -probably because they were bent. The battery went bonkers; with 15C/60F degrees or less it suddenly "forgets" 30% battery life until I put it on a charger and the last 15% of the battery are almost dead as well. Meaning that with cold weather it suddenly dies at about 40% battery! While the back is aluminum it doesn't do sh*t as the top and bottom of the back are actually plastic that is so flimsy that it doesn't protect the corners at all. A few months ago my screen shattered even with case and glass screen protector (the protector is still whole btw, and currently keeping the screen together) because the plastic of a corner broke UNDERNEATH my soft protection case. I wish I could say that all this is because I abused the phone because I have huge muscles and went mountaineering with it or something, but nope unfortunately not. This has happened with CAREFUL use, I don't go to a gym and the only hikes I take are to the couch or supermarket. So, good luck to everyone who still has this. The fingerprint scanner is absolutely great.

Well i don't know more about 5G wifi but according to me set bandwidth to 2.4 giga hertz i.e. Ghz output in router,so that redmi note 3 will be able to surf internet.It may be possible that redmi note 3 don't catch 5 or above giga hertz frequency.But we have option to set handset hotspot to dual frequency 2.4 and 5ghz.

Most of Redmi Note 3 user already update Marshmallow last year on january 2017. U maybe not getting any OTA updates that means U must have to download manually from MIUI website. Go to MIUI forum to learn how it can be done.

I read on internet some people said this update make their RN3 Snapdragon frequently heat and battery drain fast than before. Hope more comment about 9.5.3.0 MHOMIFA updates with appear so we can know if the updates is good or not. Right now my RN3 on 9.5.1.0 MHOMIEK stable and I feel battery is work quite well, draining battery while standby is gone like I go to bed on 12.00am and wake on 6.00am the battery only drop around 1 to 2 %. I used my RN3 surfing internet for 2 - 3 hours the tempeture only reach 38-37 celcius not like before it can reach 40 celcius after surfing 1 hour. This is midrange phone only will get one Android version updated and we already got it from Lollipop to Marsmallows. This is standard practice by almost all OEM. On Feb 3 I updated to miui 9.2.4 and here's what I noticed shortly after: 1. Battery discharge is faster compared to the last update 2. When I mirrored my device to my smart TV, it would disconnect when my phone's display turns off so I have to keep my phone's display on so I can watch YouTube on my TV without being disconnected. 3. When listening to music using any music app, it would suddenly stop on the 3 minute mark of any song. Yes as i said earlier Google does not provide updates to its Nexus devices so that people will buy newer devices. Xiaomi could update RN3 to Oreo and Google is not the one stopping it. Xiaomi is the one not giving the update to make people buy new phones. RN3 could even support Android 10 when it is released. There are many older phones from other manufacturers which have got many version updates although most of them are flagship devices and not budget or mid range devices.

I don't think a brand new device will be available. It will most likely be a refurbished one. And it's not worth to buy one now even if its brand new. Wait for Redmi note 5 and if it has snapdragon 632, 636 or much better 660 it is worth. Even 630 is not worth and much less 625 or 626. And make sure to buy Global version which will be released a few months after China version as the global version support more 4g bands. If China variant has available bands you can buy it also.

App updater is gone but in Setting - About Phone still got update button that we can use to search for future update. Right now Xiaomi still give MIUI update and security patch (security patch update only to supported Android version by Google) to all its phone even from year 2012 compare to another Chinese phone brand. Got the update 3 day ago can say everything is good especially the phone respond. About battery life there is a slightly improve from previous update.

I received update of size 290 MB. I updated (2GB RAM/16GB ROM model) last night and the observations are as below - 1) Internal memory freed up by 2 GB. Very happy. 2) Home page layout changed which I personally didn't like. 3) Major issue I found is change in colour scheme. Yellow shade is found all over display and everywhere. True colours are disappeared. Images look faded with yellow shade. I adjusted brightness but of no use. I am very disappointed with this change. I already got Marshmallow update for a years. Just updated when new update arrive because Xiaomi send OTA update to all available phone, if you are not getting any update via OTA then you need to download it at MIUI websites. Marshmallow Android update only apply for Snapdragon Global version (Kenzo), MediaTek version will not receive any Android version update and Snapdragon Special Edition (Kate) come with Marshmallow out of box and may not getting any Android version update. So if we want updated RN3 to Android Nougat its only available via custom rom.

2 gb ram is more than enough... after its just android not windows 10 or mac os that u have to run on your phone.. Android is a very light software..Its just skins like miui that are so ram intensive and aren't optimised that render your device lagging and unusable..Its not android's fault. Pls don't wait for miui updates as xiaomi has totally abandoned our device. You're troll you said your RN3 dont get update from 2015 (LOL because the phone are not launch yet at the time except for the RN3 MediaTek variant), but RN3 Snapdragon variant only release on January 2016. Agree service and support is not good. But device is not bad, lot of consumers using aftrr 1.5 years without any issue and with good battery life, Xiaomi always plays monopoly in market, as redmi series gets only one Android update, this device got lolipop to marshmallow. And now it will not getting any Android version updates. Your case is rare got bump on battery, it may happen sometime manufacturer defect, or sometime consumer handling issue. If anyone thinks about purchasing this device, its 21 months old now.

Don't buy!! This phone looks good and operates fast .. and that's all the good stuff. This phone lacks customer service in almost all around the world except for China and India. The battery died on me after 8 months of use where it expanded (bloated). And they made me pay for this manufacturing issue to be repaired. I haven't received any major updated since 2015 .. that's two years! and we are still running android 6.0 while everyone is running android 7.0 and soon to be upgraded to 8.0. Not sure about security, but I am using from September 2017, I doesn't found any suspected activities. Many of Roms are aosp based. Its doesn't have any monitoring option. If you monthly updated security patch level, so dont worry about it, Security team are monitoring. Yes, it does support upto 256GB as it uses a hybrid Dual. So if u use SD card, u wont be able to use two SIM cards. I bought this phone when it was launched first time in India online in early 2016 and still uses this phone as primary phone. It functions without any issue. I would suggest u to go for 3GB RAM.

Oreo update ? Good luck with that dreams, after Redmi Note 5 launch yet your Redmi Note 4 will totally abandon by Xiaomi. Midranger like RN3 and RN4 only get 1 major android version update and RN4 already get it from android Marsmallow to Nougat so dont dreaming to get Oreo like RN3 to get Nougat. SD650 is much better on performance compare SD625 because it has 2 Cortex A72 core and 4 Cortex A53 not like SD625 only rely on 8 Cortex A53. The SD625 is only good on battery efficiency because it using 14nm not 16nm fabrication if SD650 also built on this type of fabrication it also will become battery efficiency like SD625 but SD650 is built on 28nm so it cannot compete with SD625 on this sector. Not only RN4 gets the MIUI 9 update but RN3 and even Mi2 also will get it and this MIUI9 is only an android skin nothing to be proud with it.

I also said the same thing about upgrading from my RN3 to RN4 but now that I have done it I'm so glad, it's the best thing ever. The RN4 is miles better even though the RN3's processor is a bit stronger. That RN4 SD625 with 16NM is an absolute beast for a mid range phone, it is snappy saves almost twice the battery life then the SD 650 on the RN3. The design on the RN4 is way better then RN3 and the display crispness is amazing then of the RN3's plus the camera is way better on the RN4 the sound is still better though on RN3 and I just got Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI9 immediately after activating the RN4 which cannot be said for the RN3 and will probably get Android 8.0 Oreo. But the catch though is my RN3 is not going anywhere.

The RN3 used to get slightly warm, maybe due to the 28nm fabricated Snapdragon 650. With Snapdragon 660 processor, a performance beast and also power efficient, it will be the only worthy successor to the Redmi Note 3. I didn't update to the Redmi Note 4 because it wasn't a significant update to the Redmi Note 3. Hope Xiaomi will release the Redmi Note 3 Ultra with the specs you've mentioned.

Something worng happens with your device, normally doesn't slow down or laggy, factory reset and check it, if nothing. Try fastboot method installing a ROM. Installation guide on the miui forum.

Test Nitrogen oreo and RR also. As per your choice deside you which want to reguler use. I have got some time soft bricked my phone when I was trying different roms, but just reconnecting the battery and usb pcb connectors got back. So I don't face any problem as you said. edl command file is available on miui forum, use latest xiaomi flash too. If your wish you Can give me any whatsapp no. or mail id, I will send you some files, which is I am using regulerly for flashing.

I got problem same as you. After found unofficial method on xda. (Below mentioned the link) I have tried lot of custom rom. Now I am using Nitrogen Oreo as my daily driver. I Recommended go for Nitrogen Oreo. Ressurection Remix has lot of customisation options but rom comes with Nougat and pre-rooted with magisk. All the best.

But there are some OEM (phone manufacturer) will not give any major android update to its phones doesn't matter on which type. The conclusion is the more money we pay for the phone the more major android version update we will get. Phone hardware is not bad, but miui 8 updates are always buggy. If you facing any kind of problem backup and take on pc your data, then reset and restore your data. If note solved your problem, final solution flash rom in fastboot mode which is working perfectly on your phone (like miui 8.2.4.0) Flashing guide is on miui forum. Hope it will solve your problem.

Well, yes the top and bottom is plastic for better network signal reception but the entire frame except the top & bottom is aluminium. I got the 3.5mm Jack replaced from a dead Redmi Note 3 and sold my Redmi Note 3 anyway. It served me well for over 1.5 year.. Except build quality, there was nothing to complain about it.

I had an earphone jack problem on my Redmi Note 3. Once it was dissembled for repairing, the aluminium frame never sticked properly. I had to used an armour case for worry free handling my RN3. I agree, build quality of RN3 isn't that great.

You have what you get. I have this device since one year and I can say that is just worth the money you spend on it. I am quite stressed with it, it has a lot of problems, proximity sensor, camera, video player and recorder, aptic feedback, phone functions (!!) I am not sure if my feedbacks reach them but I don't even imagine how can they think people with problems like this would like to buy another Xiaomi... NO WAY!!! After the last update (MIUI 9 Global 7.9.15) it even don't allow me to unblock manually the device if it has some proximity sensor issue. Oh, you need to change your windows version. I just suggest you if you are using non touchscreen hardware, always better to go for Windows 7. Windows 10 has upgraded version and features but UI is not user friendly for a traditional desktop.

You're facing the lagging issue most likely due to the recent MIUI update version 8.5.6.0. If you're facing the issue persistently than it might be a software bug. Xiaomi is pushing out poisonous MIUI updates to Redmi Note 3 which only brings more software bugs than enchantments, so that users will grow frustrated and buy a new phone belonging to their company. Xiaomi wants us to buy a new phone from their product portfolio. I'm currently on MIUI V8.5.3.0 and I don't face the same issue as you but the Music Player & USB OTG is quite buggy on this version.. MIUI V8.2.4.0 was the last good software update (95% stable) and I wanted to downgrade to it but unfortunately, I couldn't execute the process of downgrading to MIUI V8.2.4.0 due to not running a latest OS (Windows 10). First you need permission from mi to unlock bootloader after you're done with that next you shouldbe able to root your phone using various rooting apps either directly from your phoneor using a PC. After that has been taken care of you can go to search for the global version rom of redmi note 3( whichever version of rom) Global version comes with english. Yeah, I am not good in cracking android. Just sold mine and my wife's to my employees with good bargain (US$70) for them. The phone still in mint condition. The main reason for the change is tired of wife's nagging as we using too inexpensive phone. The other reason is my concern of my deteriorating eyes, so switching into amoled screen with internal blue light filter should hopefully reduce the damaging rate. My new phone is samsung J7 pro (2017) and after changing I just realised some app are actually conflict against Xiaomi note 3. I used app called "Manis" which always trouble when using xiaomi note 3 (unstable), but work very fast on samsung J7 pro. Its surprising but its a fact and make me regret as I had complained a lot against "Manis" admin. But other than that, note 3 gave me good experience with budget phone. Although its only has 3600mAh battery, but due too advanced saving energy from amoled screen and cpu, the battery last longer. The only bad side (and most important) is it cost twice as much as xiaomi note 3.

are you using the radio app? if so just try to clear data the app. also happened to me before and i always listen to radio then the icon problem occurred even the earphone is unplugged. if this didn't work try to clear data the other media app like your music player, as long as the app is related to earphone clear data it. i hope this will help and sorry for my bad english

Redmi Note 3 officially support Quick Charge 1.0 but the Snapdragon 650 chipset can support Quick 3.0 and you altered it at the fastboot, lot of video at YouTube can show how to do it. QC 1.0 take approximately 2h 30m from below 10% to 100% but after altered its, the charging time be less than 2H approximately 1H 30m. Dont waste money buy the fast charger because the important is altered charging setting at Fastboot.

If you face a minor problems after updating to MIUI 8.5.3.0 just stay the ROM but if the big problem occur like happen to me, browsing internet less then 30 minutes the phone temperature reach 50 degree celcius than you have an options either downgrade the MIUI or waiting for new update (hopefully it can eradicated the bug) or go for custom ROM. For me I go for custom ROM.

No permanent solution except downgrading rom becouse 8.5.3.0 is a buggiest rom. Wait untill new update or go through downgradation process.Good Luck....i would like to recommend you to stay on this rom becouse this is not a major problem.....in some cases users are facing freezing, auto call end ,etc. problem but yours is minor.Go through your choice......Thanks.

Guys.. i have a weird problem in my rn3... There is a earphone icon on notification bar even when there is no earphone plugged in due to this m not able to listen the to the calls form the earpiece... Tried everything... Plugged the earphone in & out several time.. cleaned the earphone Jack but still the icon is there. M on the miui version 8.5.3.0 stable.. if u guyz have any solution to this than do let me know!!. Getting MIUI 9 updates doesn't mean gets Android Nougat upgrades. Almost all Xiaomi phone either Mi or Redmi series will gets MIUI 9 updates but some of them are still on Loliipop or Marshmallow. MIUI 9 is developed based on Android Nougat but its doesn't mean your Xiaomi phone will get Android Nougat version. The phrase "MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat" sometimes mislead people.

Redmi Note 3 for sure will get MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat but RN3 will not getting Android Nougat upgrade. Xiaomi already make statement which phone will get Android Nougat and Redmi Note 3 is not included. If you want your Redmi Note 3 use Android Nougat better go for custom ROM and Android O will be release on 22 August 2017 is better to wait for Android O custom ROM.

These are no end comparison. For Xiaomi, want more guaranteed of Android update, get the more expensive Mi series, and can forget about the Redmi series. Other brand also the same, just get the flagship model and will more guaranteed to get Android updates. Only brand like OPPO/Vivo/Meizu/Leeco, some less known brand will not even bother to upgrade OS.

Some of my friends expressed their opinion about other brands . I agree with them, as a consumer point of view, we have an option to select any brand of our choice.competition between producers/brand helps consumers/customers to select good one among them. I feel RN3 is not getting android 7 so many of us are upset with this brand but guys your RN3 is still good enough to manage your task, if miui 9 will be bugless then you will not feel the need to switch to another brand.

Le Eco Le 2, Le Max 2 are similar case. They are like old time Xiaomi, Oneplus and Huawei, trying to sell high end spec phone far below market price. Spec wise, it is far surpassing all available, not just RN3. However, software support, reliability durability, customer service are not there. These are earlier problem of Xiaomi and Oneplus too. How far LeEco can go still unknown. Similar trend will follow, their phone will be sold much more expensive in the future, there is no free lunch.

If you're talking particularly about performance for budget phones then the le eco 2 hands down gives the best performance. Also there's a difference in display for rn3 and rn4. Rn4 has a slight punchier contrast and it's camera definitely got improved over rn3's(although not saying it's got a good camera, I'd say both have decent camera with rn4 being slightly better) but yes rn3's Snapdragon 650 has advantage over Snapdragon 625 by quite the gap. And i feel rn4 has better refinement in it's aesthetics.

It really depend what you really want. RN3 is a good phone on it's own, RN4 with SD625 also is good, not as powerful, but much more power saving. I notice only gaming on heavy 3D games will notice the difference (obvious frame drop, especially on highest graphic setting), otherwise cannot notice anything drop in performance, casual gaming is on par (Clash Royale, Clash of Clan) RN4 also will get Android 7.0, unlike RN3 which may only stuck at Android 6.0. Otherwise, everything is an upgrade from RN4 from screen, speaker, battery life. If you try to compare Oneplus and Lenovo, those won't come down to the cheap price of RN3 and RN4 offer. Believe me, I own RN2, RN3, RN4, those are very good phone on it's own, even overall performance cannot compete with high end phone, but their reliability and usability far surpass those high end phone.

Again, possible you are getting a vendor ROM which cannot update ROM via OTA or Updater.zip. Suggest you manually update your phone with MiFlash (so called fastboot method), search at en.miui.com. If you buy from shop, ask the shop to help you flash to official Global ROM.

My honest advice is your phone comes with a vendor ROM, which doesn't do any updates via OTA, even cannot recognise Updater.zip file downloaded from en.miui.com. You should manually flash the phone to global ROM with MiFlash (so called fastboot method), guidance is at en.miui.com. This happen to me when I first get my RN3 from imported source, from China, one year ago. I manual flash to official global ROM, then I get every OTA until updated to Android 6.0.

my journey with RN 3 started in march 2016 and now unfortunately ended last month due to the mobile being stolen in a crowded bus, it was nightmare as i was depended on the phone ,made me realize ,when you are out on streets,make sure your mobile is secured in your pockets and look out for suspicious characters trying to pass by you or getting close to you,i failed to be attentive as i was busy getting the ticket when this happen Almost bought RN 4 but decided against it as its already in market since 6 months and not fan of SD 625 chipset as it was not sucessor to 650 ,i guess i am moving on to different brand as MI failed to bring better phone than rn 3 this year ,its either one plus or lennova for me now

True that.. MIUI 8.5.3.0 is the worst ROM ever released. Here's a list of bugs in MIUI 8.5.3.0 1. Google Play Store Error 492 due to which you can't install or update applications from Play Store. 2. Music Player is very laggy, especially if you have a lot of MP3 files. 3. MKV Video Playback using default video player is laggy as well. 4. USB OTG even if connected, won't show up in file manager app all the time. I tried downgrading my Redmi Note 3 to MIUI 8.2.4.0 but after completing 50 percent of the process, I came to know that MiFlash Tool isn't supported on Windows XP operating system, so I had to cancel my plan of downgrading to MIUI 8.2.4.0. Unfortunately, there's no new MIUI update and I'm stuck with this buggy MIUI ROM. Desperately waiting for a new update to fix the above mentioned bugs in MIUI 8.5.3.0..

I have downgraded miui 8.5.3.0 to miui 8.2.4.0 and now running without any major bugs and problems. I don't know why Xiaomi sending major buggy updates to every normal user (who has not joined beta testing program). It will be bricking devices. miui 8.5.3.0 released one month ago now but still in beta stable under testing. Just forget miui updates and install best rom which running without any bugs on your device. I personally like miui 8.2.4.0, after 17 month miui update experience I don't want to download any new updates.

I thought so. There are many posts on MIUI Forum complaining about Google Play Store Error 492 due to which users aren't able to update or install apps from Play Store.. This bug is there on all MIUI 8.5 version, it seems.. Here's a temporary workaround, you can install apps from Google Play Store in the second space with a different Google account (shouldn't be same as the Google account in the first space).

All miui 8.5 updates are beta stable updates. Near a month still not released to public stable rom. I think miui dev team is busy in working on miui 9. Best thing is downgrade to miui 8.2.4.0 for a good system stability. It is a best rom in all miui 8 roms.

Cleared Google Play Store Data and also cleared Google Framework Data but still facing the error. In fact, I removed my Google account after clearing data from Google App on my RN3 and logged in again and yet, I'm getting the same error.. Factory Reset is the last thing that I have to do to see if the problem goes away.. This seems like a MIUI Bug.. My Redmi Note 3 pro charged battery from 5% to 100% in 2 hour 30 minute use your own judgement either this is a fast charge or not. But if compare my RN3 pro with my Lenovo S860, both haved 4000 mah battery, Lenovo S860 used 4 hours to charged battery from 5% to 100%.

I did the update to Miui 8.5.3.0 and I have had no problems with the update, the thing I like the most is the led for charging now turns off when battery is full, no need to keep checking the percentage of the battery, the calculator finally works properly, all working fine for me, now waiting for MIUI 9 like everyone else

Why do not you check #4G/LTE connection is available in your handset or not. Just go to dialer and dial *#*#4636*#*# and click on phone information1 & 2 , select LTE band. If LTE option is unavailable you have another variant of RN3.

Guys why dont u try the developer rom because it is better than stable. Issues are fixed in a week (updates in every friday). I think this is the best time to use dev rom stable rom is wierd. Slow on updates. Disapointed to see overheating issues on stable rom.

i am on eu rom 6.9.... somthing i have not updated it after that. it works great. there might be some fixes for the current stable build. go to internal storage from setting and clear the caches. it might help for some extend

Being a beta member i can confirm that all xiaomi devices will get miui9, however it might be based on android 6. Not 7. Some old devices like redmi 1s might not get miui9

Just my naughty thought, is it possible Xiaomi gives bad updates to Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon Global versions because they have intentions to indirectly force us the RN3 owner to abandon the RN3 device so we willingly buys Xiaomi latest devices like Redmi Note 4 and Mi Max 2. MIUI 8.5.3.0 MHOMIED update is a disaster. Updated My Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon (32 GB ROM) to MIUI V8.5.3.0 MHOMIED Stable a few days ago. Here's my review. I'll only focus on bugs/issues. Issues Found - 1. USB OTG even if connected isn't showing in the file manager all the time. 2. Most of the icons have weird white frames which looks unprofessional. 3. In Prefer LTE Mode (On Airtel SIM), the network automatically keeps switching between 4G/3G/2G. 4. Jio 4G Network strength has gone down and is fluctuating a lot after the update. 5. Music Player lags while scrolling (when local music is shown by album). Furthermore it only shows two albums per column. It would be better if three or four albums are shown in each column. 6. Notification LED isn't blinking when battery is low. 7. MKV Video Playback is still laggy. 8. Brain drain is very fast, even on standby mode. MIUI updates instead of fixing bugs and optimizing, is only adding more bugs.. If anyone facing these same issues, please confirm. God help MIUI Devs..

Yes after updating 8.5.2.0 can see the battery fast draining and I also has done factory reset nothing change. In this case either downgrade the MIUI or waits for the new updates.

Used for 1 years and 3 months, bought when newly launch. Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon is the best phone that I used till date, and also being the cheapest smartphone that I has ever bought. Everything on it feel just like flagship. Performance and stability are much better than my previous flagship phone. Recommend for those who actually want a usable phone at very low price.

Suspected yours is on vendor ROM, which look exactly like Global ROM, but cannot update via OTA, even cannot detect the Updater.zip file for manual update. Yes, no need unlock bootloader and root, just need instruction on how to use Mi Flash on PC to install Global ROM from en.miui.com. You can find plenty of instruction on Youtube. PS:Mine previously also is vendor ROM, which look like Global ROM but cannot OTA. I flash to the real Global ROM using Mi Flash. Now, it has the real Google Play store by default, can receive OTA updates.

For me 8.5.1.0 and 8.5.2.0 having heating problem. After updating 8.5.1.0 on my Redmi Note 3 its became over heat after 30 minute browsing internet, the temperature reached more than 40 degree celcius its never happen before even I used to browsed more than 2 hours. Then again after updating 8.5.2.0 its happen again. I using Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon global versions(Kenzo).

Go ahead and flash your device with mi flash tool. Dont unlock bootloader or root your device else warranty will be void. You can flash any rom and your warranty will be intact. But be carefull, since you are on lollipop rom and if you flash marshmallow rom, you wont be able to revert back to lollipop rom. You will then be able to only flash any marshmallo based miui rom over that. In simple words, there is no harm in flashing 8.2.4 rom. But i will prefer 8.1.1 version or 8.5.x roms cuz 8.2.4 version had battery problem.

Miui 8.5.2 out now with june security patch...Phone is really fast and responsive now. It has fixed the internal storage problem that miui 8.5.1 brought alongwith. Miui 8.5.1 was known to reduce the internal storage available in the phone. Also it lagged the phone. Thankfully all that is fixed. All in all a nice update.

Updating MIUI 8.5.1.0 MHOMIED stable on 27.6.2017 not facing any problem until today, when I browsing internet using simcard broadband my RN3 in 30 minutes its become overheat, the phone temperature exceed 40 degree celcius. I not feel the heat because I used thick casing only realized the phone overheat when the warning appear on the screen then on the spot I shut down the phone. Before this the highest temperature my RN3 reached is 38 degree celcius. Hope Xiaomi will fixed this problem as soon as possible.

I am wondering about Xiaomi miui updates, But here sharing my experience after using this mobile. Xiaomi sending lot of updates, but evey updates are buggy. Sometime bricks devices even in stable rom updates. Sometime updates are suspended after stable rom released. I am not against any brand but I realised miui updates are not reliable. Best way dont update quickly. Wait for 15 days or a month after release new updates. Now miui 8.5.1.0 stable has been suspended.

This may be due to auto update setting ,your language pack , play store apps, system upatade may be on auto update mode. Check it out, second disable features like auto downloading media files in fb and whatsapp. Prefer fb lite app. While running these apps you can check background running app in installed app setting and close unneccesary apps. Provide your opinion regarding this.

Its good update overall , no heating. Good performance . Same ram management. Same .mkv playback issue. But its good enough. Update your handset without hesitation.

Since i'm updating to 8.2.4.0 , i think i am more satisfied rather than on 8.1.1.0 Except : - Laggy .mkv videos - brightness issue - Sensor which i rarely used on it. -4G lost(I still use 3G and it is fine with me). - Sync which doesnt appeared before.. But the lag on emulation are disappeared, charging is only max 3h and battery seems more better to use it for a day. Headphone issue fixed for me.. mic is also working. Heating is not an issue, not even heat much.. but i once reach 50°C which i fall asleep on bed when playing+multitask. Overall for now.. i still love my device with well-known bug. Hope to get better updates than this one.

Try reset factory setting,it might help you. Backup your data, copy your personal files(music,videos,pics) etc. to other device and reset your handset. Hope this Will solve your issues. If you are not on miui version 8.2.4.0 then update to latest miui version this may also help your issues done.

I bought this phone one n half years ago, encountered 2 extremely heated issues. The phone just so hot that it can't used n hold as all. Need to leave it alone for it to cooled.. Then this morning, encounter another issue, I pressed on the power button to display the time, it just won't displayed. Although it is not hot, but can't view anything includes my alarms. I tried power down but no valid. All this while I am playing music's. So I had to leave it for its battery to get flat. Might i suggest this? I extracted the apk as my device isn't rooted and sideloaded it. Works like a dream, uninstalled Open Camera immediately and replaced it with SNAPit, smooth, responsive, saves photos and videos to gallery, playback is perfect.

Wth dude, all apps crashing? What a bunch of lies. If all the apps were crashing, the phone wouldn't be usable at all. You must be kidding. It could also be that you are on a unofficial ROM and you must be installing apps from unknown sources​.. I can only assume this. I'm using this RN3 Snapdragon since May 2016 and so far, I haven't come across any application crashing.

It's been more than a year I'm using my Redmi Note 3. It's in perfectly new condition performing without any lag whatsoever. Battery backup is still pretty strong and being a heavy user, I easily get 6 hours+ SOT with continuous 4G internet and around 4-5 hours when gaming. One of the best phones I've ever used. The only problem for me is the limited 32 GB internal memory (26.28 GB Available) and Hybrid SIM slot.. I've over 40 GB of data on my 64 GB MicroSD card and I can't use it if I'm using 2 SIM cards at a time. Thankfully I've found a workaround without sticking the nano SIM on the MicroSD Card - Hybrid SIM Slot Adapter which lets you use 2 SIM Cards and 1 MicroSD Card all at the same time. If you're also facing memory issues, you can try this Hybrid SIM Slot adapter. You can find them on Amazon. I've ordered mine and yet to see it's efficiency. Lastly, the other problem is the phone has Snapdragon 650 processor which is powerful but built on an old 28nm process, so the phone heats up with heavy games. The Redmi Note 4 seems like a good upgrade with a little sacrifice on performance but I don't like making compromises.. I hope the Redmi Note 5 comes with the latest Snapdragon 660 processor.

Been using it since october 2016. Worth every penny. I only bought the 2Gb/16Gb version. Battery is unbeatable by any other phone. The weakness are 1. It did not get android update from xiaomi. 2. Camera is below 16Mp expectation. 3. Back speaker is annoying. When we put down, we can barely hear things. I have been using the phone for more than 6 months and I have been extremely satisfied with the performance, except for 2 things. 1. The screen has been told gorilla glass4, but its very delicate and will break easily. 2. Display auto brightness. MI said, they have been working on software update but they have not updated yet since its release. Both front and rare cameras are awersome . Battery lasts 1 days with moderate use. and with heavy use, it lasts 75% of the day. Same as Iphone. limited options on battery saving modes. Even if you choose to increase the battery life, it works its own way. Dual apps, wwere not allowed to use camera and media files. Over all, not worth a money. I am dissappointed. Instead I would recommend Asus zenfone Max for performance, battery and Camera.

I've bought Redmi a month ago, I'm very satisfied except problems with audio player. After approximately 30-60 min of playing music, player stop. Then after some time start by itself or even playing random 1st few seconds of songs. It is very annoying. Make sure your memory card is formatted with FAT32 system with default allocation unit size. Better you copy memory card stuffs to any other device and format your micro sd card. Good Luck

FAT32 not allowed more then 4096 mb file. Its normal, but I can't copy my all data to the pc. And that was nothing any bigger the 4096 mb sigle file. Tried copying on 2 pc. Here I suggest if you are going to update from miui 8.2.3.0 to miui 8.2.4.0, copy all data before update.

You are not alone. I downloaded a Full HD movie of over 4 GB on the internal memory and tried to copy as well as move it to my 64 GB MicroSD Card and 16 GB Pendrive using OTG but the process failed each time. Then I learned that FAT32 file system on memory cards has 4 GB restriction on a single file so you can't copy or move any single file over 4GB to the memory card. Even tried to move the 4GB file to PC but my PC couldn't detect my RN3. So I had to delete the movie and download it in smaller size of 3.8 GB. Problem solved. Windows can't format more than 32 GB Card to FAT32 format which is the standard for most of the phones. I hope Xiaomi will provide an update to support exFAT file format system in the near future.

Well i have been usong this phone for almost a year now.The problems i have faced is much complicated. Mi phones have their own account system like google. Loosing this account would be a great prob. U have to flash the phone ( not easy as bootloader not unlocked ) Next i faced total failure with my all sensors (except fingerprint ). And last mi service is not gud. They have different ans for solutions. If ur lucky enough you wont have any probs. In other ways the phone is awsome. User friendly settings u could customize most of the settings of ur phone. Be careful cause any probs would cost u. Check for any service near you to avoid charges. Hope this will be helpfull to everyone.

Just an idea bro but its works and still get update for apps. What good we get when having a 4000 mAh battery phone but only last for 6-8 hours and need to carry 20000 mAh powerbank for a daily usage. The problem with MIUI is having too much apps background activity that consume so much of the phone battery.

Some ideas how to reduce battery drains problem after updating MIUI : 1. Do a factory reset after updates. 2. Go to setting - Developer options - Memory optimization - set low (default set is middle) 3. Go to setting - Developer options - Background proses limit - set No background proses (default set is standard limit) 4. Go to setting - Simcard&Mobile network - set data plan - turn off Allow background data 5. Go to setting - Battery - Power - Turn on battery saver. 6. Go to setting - Battery - Manage app battery usage - Choose apps - all apps either installed and system apps set restricts background activity. 7. Tweak doze setting - install Greenify apps from Play Store - go to its setting - enable Aggressive Doze and enable Doze on the go (if your phone not rooted also can but need to follows its guide. You must connected your phone with pc and go to command promt or cmd in order to enable Doze on the go function on your phone)

I love Xiaomi because they make a good phone with a nice price but at a same time I hate Xiaomi because of MIUI, every time updating new MIUI rom must cause problems. Some of the problems are battery fast drain, phone become over heating, some functions like mics or VoLte might not work and etc. Xiaomi it is better U give us a stock or vanilla android than this crappy MIUI.

Do a factory reset. Then go to developer options and setting low on ram optimization. If you like you can tweak doze setting by installing apps name Greenify ignored the hibernate just go to agressive doze setting and follow the instructions.

Extra phone. I rly did not have any issue for this few months of using. This is the best deal in this price range. It does not miss anything, got awesome battery, 5.5 inch, cam 16 and 8mp, 2x sim or SD, 78k antutu, phone is literally 400 evra price range, sholder to sholder with Sony Z5, Xperia X, Samsing S6, 20 % faster then LG G4. Maybe 3g or 4g receiver is weaker, but it might be provider in here and it doesn not have amulet display. That is all, but for 180 euro, 3gb versio phone is "The Deal".

I found it after wasting my bandwidth that FAT32 format has restrictions on files more than 4GB so you can't download a file larger than 4GB on the SD Card. Found a few more bugs in MIUI v8.2.2.0 MHOMIDL for RN3. 1. VoLTE symbol isn't showing up always.. 2. This is an annoying bug. I'm not able to copy or move a 4.61 GB file from the internal storage to the SD Card & USB Storage. Also it's not getting compressed by the default file manager and third party file managers like ES File Explorer. And also not able to send it to other devices via file sharing apps like Shareit and Xender. I tried to download it again directly on the SD card but the download stopped at 4.29 GB. In fact, in all the cases the operation stucks at 4.29 GB. So I guess there is some restrictions on copying and moving files more than 4.29 GB to external storage and also restrictions on compressing and sending files more than 4.29 GB. Due to this bug, I wasted​ lot of my bandwidth..

Animation - * Cool New Animation For Task Manager. Wallpapers - * 2 New Wallpapers Added. Notification Panel- * Battery Saver Toggle Added in the notification shade. Settings- * Home screen Settings Option added in settings page within which you can lock home screen layout. * You can find a new device administrator (Secure Spaces Device Admin) in Device Administrators < in Privacy option < in Additional Settings < Settings. New Apps - * Mi Picks application pre-installed. RAM - * RAM Management is pretty much the same. Most of the time getting 1.6 GB to 1.7 GB RAM Free. Fingerprint Sensor - * Vibration for fingerprint sensor is disabled. Miss the haptic feedback. But the fingerprint sensor is working more accurately than before. Music Player - * Music Player Interface is changed which looks pretty cool to me. Security App - * Automated Tasks option added in the security application. Even with Prefer LTE Mode selected on Airtel SIM, it goes to 3G all the time and if manually selecting LTE Only Mode (through tapping 4 times on Settings > About Phone > Internal Memory) it shows "No Service" most of time. The network automatically keeps switching between 4G/3G/2G. If you remember, in MIUI 7 the second SIM would go to 2G Only Mode if the first SIM was selected for data. Now in MIUI 8, the second SIM goes to 3G most of the time if the first SIM is selected for data. I'm able to use Airtel 4G on other 4G phones without any hassle. MIUI developers needs to sort out this issue by providing options to select Network Mode on both SIMs or maybe restore the MIUI 7 Network Settings. 2. MKV Format Videos (HD Movies) are lagging during playback in the default MIUI Video Player after updating to MIUI 8 update based on Marshmallow and this problem is still there in MIUI 8 v8.2.2.0 MHOMIDL. I've to use VLC Media Player to play MKV Videos. 3. Camera quality is pretty worse in artificial light with high level of noise creeping in. Furthermore when you focus on a subject with the LED Flash, the colours look pleasing on the screen but as soon as you press the shutter button, you end up having a washed out yellowish picture with very low levels of details. 4. Heating issues is more prominent in this update as usual internet browsing is making the phone heat up. It's also summer here so maybe it could be a factor. As long as you use the phone in a cool environment, not an issue. 5. Battery backup seems to have improved but not by much. With 1 SIM card on, I'm getting over 7 hours of screen on time on internet browsing using Chrome. The battery drains faster once it has dropped below 30 percent. Overall, it's still good for a phone like this. My phone has completed a year just a few days ago and still the battery backup is pretty good. Now just waiting for Redmi Note 5 with Snapdragon 660.

No need to have unlocked bootloader. I could downgrade the ROM without having unlocked bootloader. Now I feel there is no need to downgrade. After installing 8.2.2.0, we need to do just a factory data reset (after doing a backup on an external storage). The 8.2.2.0 ROM update is good.

To fix the battery drain, charging time and overheating issues with 8.2.2.0 update, we need to back up data and do a factory data reset to wipe all the data. (Settings - Additional settings - Backup & Reset - Factory data reset). This will resolve the problems. The OTA update does not wipe the data and therefore it has to be done manually. It will retain the OTA update of 8.2.2.0. I have tried it and now the phone is working well with 8.2.2.0 update.

After facing battery charging, heating and battery drain problems with 8.2.2.0, I downgraded to 8.1.6.0. After downloading the ROM, used Updater app to install the ROM. After the uodate; continuous errors started appearing because it was not a clean install. Did a factory reset to wipe all the data after saving the data on a pen drive. Now the battery performance with 8.1.6.0 is fantastic. Shall wait till Xiaomi releases stable update. Not sure if clean install of 8.2.2.0 makes any difference.

Not a good move. I already done it and the battery fast drain and heating problem become worst. The best way is to revert back to MIUI 8.1.6.0 or wait the next stable update. Some says fastboot can remove the problem but to do it one must unlock the bootloader and its not an easy task especially for those who are not tech savvy.

If you do not reboot,boot or turn on/off fight mode often then you can set network mode by dialing *#*#4636#*#* and choose lte only mode in phone information 1/2. Hope it may help you...

8.2.2.0 update is good. Everything works fine. Fingerprint sensor is working more accurately now. Need to check charging time and battery life. Main issue for me is that network switching between 3G, 4G and 2G in Airtel SIM card automatically&#8203;. When prefer LTE mode is selected, the phone goes to 4G but soon switches to 3G even when 4G network is available in my location. Data connection is getting lost many times. This is frustrating bug.
