I have used Xiaomi redmi note 6pro(4GB ram) for about 8months and I love the phone. Works well and smoothly. I am a heavy phone user PUBG on normal graphics setting works ok and the batt last about 10hrs on average usage. After I Updated to Android 9 the WiFi takes long before connecting. It doesn't heat up Battery last long

I am using Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. Not sure but after upgrading a month back, I am facing problem of auto-dailing to any number from caller list. This happened after we disconnect on-going call & leave the phone without locking than such dialing occur. Even I have pocket locking, but still doesn't stop this issue. Sometime I also feel that it become too sensitive to the screen that when just close the flip cover that itself could lead to autodialling. On occasion (not every time) the phone seems to auto dial someone after you've ended a call with someone else. At first I thought, this might just be happening accidentally, but it's happened several times with me. Can you please check this issue & advice me as to how I can solve this problem.

I don't have this phone but you don't have to worry about RAM for PUBG. My dad has Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro 2018 with 1.5GB RAM and that phone can handle pubg on low graphic settings. In comparison, this phone has much more powerful chipset and 3GB is twice the RAM, so it won't be a problem. The important thing for gaming is the GPU. As long as you've a powerful GPU, even 2GB RAM phone can handle PUBG on high graphics. Realme 3 3GB variant can do that. This phone has a weaker chipset in comparison but it is semi-powerful. SD 636 is minimum you should have for good gaming experience in heavy games. In short, 3GB variant will easily maintain 30-40fps in PUBG on smooth settings. And if you want to experience pubg on high graphics, just download GFX Tool and set it to: "Smooth HD" graphics Extreme Framerate Lower the resolution to 960x540 or HD You can also lower other settings to maximise frame rate on Smooth HD graphics.

My advise is DONT DO THE UPDATE YET! It ruined my camera when I updated it. Camera is okay but whenever I wanna take multiple shots, I have to exit and reopen it for it to be able to do it. ITS FRUSTRATING and I regret updating it. I hope XIAOMI fixes it SOON

Try to restart your device or probably clear the history of your Bluetooth in Settings then restart the phone. You cant signin probably because of your login credentials. Either your email or password is wrong. Login to a PC instead so you can RESET :)

Dude, changing fonts is only under INDIA Region. Here's what you have to do: 1. Go to settings 2. Search Region then select INDIA 3. Go to Theme Store and you'll finally see the FONT OPTIONS 4. Select the Font you love then the phone will reboot 5. Once rebooted, you'll see the Font have changed 6. Go back to settings then search Region again and switch back to your country. DONT WORRY its not gonna affect the font you selected fro your phone. THANK YOU!

If u apply different theme from Xiaomi themes u will get different font. Also,theme- setting( adjust ) theme( if u have more themes) u can pick from every theme the things u like-icon pack,etc.

Impressed by this phone. Dirt cheap and not an issue. Its awesome to have a phone I dont need to charge every 8 hours. The camera is good enough, yes its not as good as some of the other phones but the specs doesnt pretend to be, so one should complain. Did I mention its dirt cheap? I am a big fan of Mi phones as I find there is NOTHING better at the price. If one doesnt like it, then pay 2 or 3 times more for another brand. simple

I've had Redmi note 6 pro (global version 4g/64gb) over the past few months - wow just really nice/smooth overall experience & a true joy to use. Can't fault it in anyway shape or form - very impressive phone indeed. Xiaomi constantly improving software with providing Mui updates/Android patch updates etc. as well as asking for direct feedback in return if you wish to report any concerns/suggestions etc. :) :) :)

totally agree on software side. Hardware is great in this budget but its software optimization is very poor. i always hated miui (and all other heavily modded skinned OS like touchwiz, Color OS, EMUI etc). MIUI lags even on Mi9 and other high end xiaomi phones too. Gaming is worse because of MIUI (miui consuming too much GPU power hence not properly allocating GPU resources to game or other GPU intensive tasks). MIUI full screen gesture lag (i reported many times and that issue never got fixed till this date) Hope Xiaomi will fix there software in future (which is highly unlikely). i also own a redmi note 4 and i installed custom ROM and a custom kernel (AEX+Englezos kernel) on it and believe me it feels much faster, stable and better as compared to my Redmi note 6 pro even though RN6pro has much superior hardware as compared to RN4. i think what every phone need is software optimization (hardware wise , even mid range phones are far ahead Overall performance wise) , it seems like no company wants to improve software because then who is going to buy new models.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is an amazing bang for the buck smartphone with amazing specs (for its price). But does the specs sheet tell the whole story? I have been an avid fan of Xiaomi even before I bought my first Xiaomi product (which is this phone). The price to performance ratio is unheard of by any brand worldwide. Having a Snapdragon 636, amazing 2280x1080 screen, a good enough 3gb of Ram (lowest priced variant) all for a price below what is usually given for the said specs. And this combination of hardware would result in a 'bang for the buck' smartphone, or at least it should except for one thing that's barring it, which is the software. Currently in MIUI 10.2.2.0, Stutters and lags are everywhere. From opening apps to the app functionalities itself. Major heating problem are also present whilst playing heavy android titles. To be fair though, 3d gaming performance is absolutely playable until you reach about 30 mins to 1 hour of gaming where the phone would be as hot enough to scald a lizard. I am no tech expert but I am pretty sure the Snapdragon 636 could fare more than what I am currently getting. Camera App The camera itself takes AMAZING photos. Say what you want about this phone, but it's camera sensor is superb. It takes great quality photos. I could go so far as acknowledging the camera as the value proposition for this phone. But sad to say it ends there. The camera app is nothing but hot garbage if we talk about speed. Major slowdowns could be felt just by opening the camera app and sometimes you might have to restart the app itself just to take photos. This is unacceptable as there are moments that you would like to capture in an instant which you just can't do with this phone due to its sluggish camera app. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro could hold its own against even Mid-high spec tier if we talk specs and camera alone. But sad to say, the software is holding it from doing a better job than it currently is doing.

Yesterday on 6th May 2019, I got the update MIUI 10.3.2.0 - PEKMIXM Android Pie! The upgrade was 1.7GB and it is running smoothly. I have not checked everything thoroughly but i can see that some lags i had when running Oreo are gone. The fingerprint is reading faster and the wake up function is buttery smooth with Android Pie. None that I can point out for now.. really good specs for the price. Face unlock not too important as the fingerprint sensor works like a charm and good enough for me. Had the device about two weeks now and i'm in love. Debated about getting this and the Y9 (Huawei) and this won me over. Switched from Huawei to this and have no regrets. The Y9 seemed to be a better handset (with a more superior chip etc) but this won me over as I don't like very big phones, the Y9 has a 6.5'' screen. The Mi A2 was also a better option but no headphone jack and no USB port. Also battery is 3000mah compared to this. So far I am loving the experience with this. Pick up my phone more and more now for no reason :-) Try this. You won't regret it.

Hi..took this phone on sunday..monday eve it went onto continuos reboots ..no way i could do anything..went online and found that its due to selecting themes app by mi ..their own ui has a bug so it reboots on start non stop..went to mi store..was sent to serv station who after a big fight said data irrecoverable ..lost all contacts ..since it was 2 days since purchase they sealed it and gave DOE...gave it back at mi store who refused refund but were stuck bcos they didnt have same new piece...finally after lots of arguments they rfunded CAsh..:-)...bye redmi..ur phones must be good but if there is a UI prob and people reported it since 1 year..u are too careless not to care ..i lost lots of pics n data which i believed u and trfd from my old phone

For the US, on GSM Networks (t-Mobile, ATT) you want a phone with support for Band 12 (700 Mhz) and Band 17 (850Mz), else VoLTE will not work in many area, so your coverage shall be poor, especially in hilly, rural remote area. This very model, does not support Band 12, 17, however it is not unlikely that "Mi" (perhaps after they read this posting) issue a variation of this model, with Band 12, 17. According to the specifications, that could a great phone to purchase: a Winner !

I bought this device in January 2019 and below is my user review: 1. Design It follows the tradition of the other redmi notes since 4 at least. It is a metal build with plastic edges which are well structured. The device is sturdy and comfortable to hold. It comes with a silicon cover and so no wobbling on the back due to the camera hump. It is considerably thin and hence very comfortable to hold. 2. Connectivity This device has many connectivity options except nfc. I use my infrared blaster for my private remote at home! The bluetooth is good and the WiFi is excellent, it is a a dual band type and very strong. No network issues so far and the signal strength is good. The speeds on LTE here in Nairobi are quite good also. And its a dual sim with Dual LTE support. 3. Display The 6.26 inch IPS display with 403 ppi is very bright even under direct sun. Sometimes there is some glitch when the brightness is on auto. Takes a little time to adjust, but once it does it is very legible. The display is tall thanks to the 19:9 AR. But then the notch! Yeah it gives a feel of the Iphone X series, but it is intrusive and thanks to the lack of widevine L1 on this device, you cant utilize the full screen HD content for netflix and others. This device supports widevine L3 only. The notch also does not handle the notifications very well, it hides them too quickly. You then have to swipe the notification bar down to see the various notifications. I think Xiaomi could have implemented the notch better as far as notification are concerned. 4. CPU, RAM & HDD I have the 3GB RAM and 32 GB HDD variant. It sports SD 636 and the performance is great for this mid range device. All tasks are smooth and no visible lags with a few exceptions. I ran Geekbench 4 and the scores i got were as follows; SCS 1337 and MCS 4827. You can compare this with other offerings at this price range and this is quite good. 5. Security This device features a FP Sensor which is fast and responsive. There is nothing close to the sensor such as the camera etc, so it is easy to find it. The device has face unlock if you choose the region as India and others. For some reason could not access the face unlock for my area. Note though that this is not as secure as what you get on the MI 8 or the Poco F1 which are more secure given the IR camera and 3d facial mapping they use. 6. The Quad cameras This device is Xiaomi's first offering of quad camera. You get the 12+5 MP back and the 20+2MP front. note that the front lack a flash and uses the screen as a flash which is weak. The back of course has a good dual LED flash. The camera performance is good overall and you can check reviews on this online. I really like this cameras, in daylight they are almost excellent, both the frond and back. They are using AI to process the images and though some have had reservations about the AI, i think i liked what they produce. Videos max at HD and there is no 4k though the SOC supports this. There is EIS for the HD videos too. Low light video and stills is neither here nor there. Don't hope for too much because this is a mid range device not high end. Both the front and back cameras had depth cameras and so both can do portrait shots. I think the portraits are good for this price point. 7. The battery Wow, this is one of the features of the redmi notes that is actually a flagship killer. I have used this device for 2 days without charging it and still had some juice left. The battery is great and it supports QC 3 though you will have to get a charger for it. In 2 hours roughly it will fill from 0-100. It gets alittle hot when charging also. I wonder what will happen when Xiaomi upgrade this device from 8.1 oreo to android pie, given that Pie is big on battery life. I think, this device will do even better on battery life. If this is you edge, you can't go wrong with the redmi note 6 pro. 8. OS I bought the device running android 8.1 oreo. Xiaomi is rumored to push android pie sometime this year for this device. I had xiaomi's MUI 9.5 but then Xiaomi updated it to 10.0 then now am running 10.2 and I love it. The gestures are a breeze to use. 9. Price point I got this device in Nairobi for $199. This is quite competitive given the features in this device. You get great cameras, SD 636 SOC, 19:9 HD screen with GG, metal build, an incredible 4000 Mah battery, a vast array of connectivity features etc. And Xiaomi are very good in pricing, in a few months they will lower the cost significantly. The offerings from Nokia, Samsung, Oppo etc are not as competitive in my opinion. 10. Summary Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is a near excellent mid range device. If only i could use the full screen 19:9 AR for video content and if the notch didn't get in the way. The cameras are good for a mid ranger but nothing too high end. If you are looking for a device which will be a great bargain, long battery life, with a reputable chip for performance, then the redmi note 6 pro is your device. Now if you are big on regular updates, this may not be your device, look for android one devices. Actually Xiaomi have been pushing some updates for MIUI and Google monthly security.

Been using this phone for couple of weeks and i'm very very astonished by its overall quality & performance. I can't believe that nowadays with this kinda price tag...I can have excellent camera performances for both still image & video, good clear loud speaker, great bright accurate screen, wonderful front cam for selfie, good lasting battery life, led notification, infrared sensor, 3.5 audio jack...bla bla so on & on. A great replacement for my damaged Galaxy S7 Edge!! Best of all, I can use back all the quick chargers and cables that I got from previous device!!

It's not really a front flash. U can choose flash on in the selfie mode and the screen brightens up to capture u even in the darkest of the dark. I think that's what he meant by front flash

I got 4gb/64gb international version on December 27th. It received MIUI 10 update right after I set the wifi up and 10.2 version 2 days ago. I'm totally loving this phone. Battery life is amazing. I'm a gamer, and I can go all day with wifi, sync, gps, sometimes Bluetooth, and 50+ brightness. Or watch hours of Netflix without worrying about running out of battery. The longest time I counted so far was approximately 17h and I still had like 13% to go. I tend to run on battery from 7 in the morning to little past midnight then charge it at whatever percentage it's on (usually 20% or lower) until 100%. I usually charge it at bedtime, so I don't really have a problem. But I must admit that charging takes quite a while. My longest charge took like 2h15min. Camera is great for the price, especially on portrait mode. The downside is that pics are quite noisy in dark places. You can get Open Camera app to record videos in 4k. If you want to activate face unlock, just set the region to India. Then the option will appear in the lockscreen settings. Although you will probably have to delete some factory apps that appear on that region (don't worry, most factory apps can be uninstalled on this phone, only one I couldn't get rid of was Mi Apps). Both fingerprint and face unlock work really fast. As for games, performance is good. RAM management in this phone doesn't let most games go freezing or lagging. PUBG is set to low graphics, but I tried it and it doesn't lag. I love fullscreen mode (no on-screen buttons). Gestures work as specified and it's not hard to use them with one hand regardless of the phone's big body. You'll get used to it fast. And that's it. I would recommend this phone to anyone.

Launch your camera, click on the three lines up in the right corner, click on settings, scroll down a little and you will see an option called "Camera frame". Click on it and change it. As for the video recording the ratio is 18:9 so you can't change it. I hope I helped you.

welll,, not to be expected, but the batery life is a little bit disappointed i just bought it last nigh, n full charged it till 12 am, n use it only for half hour wathching xvideos (IYKWIM),, but by the day time now, 13.40PM (i didn't use it yet since i watch porn last night), it only left with 30% battery.. maybe need some time to calibrate the phone since i move my MIUI acc from my oldphone to my new 1,, but for the battery life quality, i never expect to be this bad T^T

4gb version Run on out of box miui 9.6.8.0 and for now I'm HAPPY. main reason I pick this phone over the other brands who is in this price range is the, "heavy skin' they use over stock android + winware (system app). Have issue video viewing lite of the pic don't show but it's okay . Take your time in miui it's so fantastic. BTW my mipad gen 1 still " working " after the years it's has miui 9 but over KitKat not Oreo. Don't belive ppl when they say the camera is better then flagship phones. But the BF/GF camera are impressive in the hand. When u take pictures make the Camara app "load" the light from the room/outside before take picture its make a different. Low-light picture rip xiaomi no joke but for the price u can get real nice pictures in good light.Restart this phone minimum 1 time a week. Miui 9.6.8.0 - > miui 9.6.10.0 can I use the 1.6gb file or do any know where to get the 144mb file? I'm not interested in the miui 10 yet or should I be?

Guys bought this phone last week with global rom in Pakistan... I am already using S9plus which i am selling for upcoming s10... Using this mobile is really amazing.. cant believe it matches the performance of s9plus and cameranshots are better than that of s9 plus.... Two thing that pinches me are the missing notifications icons on status bar due to notch and charging is also not that fast. Rest assured a really good mobile in this price segment

If you look at the review of the Note 6 Pro in this site, go to the photo compare tool, and select the Redmi Note 5 AI for comparison, the picture quality is much better than the Note 6. The camera is supposed to be the same, but Note 6 seems to have excessive noise reduction and much less detail. Anybody knows why?

It's simple to decide which one to buy, if you are gamer then zenfone but if you're a camera enthusiast then note 6 pro. Great phone for a budget of 200$, dual pixel autofocus and large camera sensor if 1.4um make the 12 mp rear camera challenge more expensive phones like honor 8x, Nokia 7.1 and mi a2. Great deal with no doubt, you will get great screen display, good rear and front cameras with a manual mode for advanced photography, good battery and infrared port for using it as a remote too. After using it , the drawbacks are the big notch, no front flash, doesn't look premium built, no type-C port.

Just to inform people, this phone supports Apt-x for Bluetooth . I tested with my Apt-x Sony headphones (not sure about Apt-x HD thou). This information is not listed in specs. I have noticed that GSM Arena often miss out this crucial information (for example for some Motorola latest phones). Yes Xiaomi constanly released update even for their old phone but that was a MIUI update not Android version (1 Android version update for midrange and 2 for high end) and security patch update(for first 2 year Xiaomi phone will get it). MIUI updated also always come with bugs that also ruins the phone. The bugs in MIUI update are so worst and till now still no solution to get rid of it. I also owns Xiaomi phone but now I opts to another brand because cannot taken the bugs update problem anymore. This Redmi note series phone is pocket friendly. I have used Note 5 pro and going to upgrade to Note 6 Pro. There are some minor upgrades and the display screen to body ratio has increased, something I am happy about. Largest change I've seen until now is that background battery data collection by JuicePlotter isn't working any more. That app is ancient, and no longer available on Google Play, but was very useful for battery consumption analysis. The visible changes seem to be net positive.

That's the point. this phone is basically the redmi note 5 but for people who wants to have the features of older phones like the microusb instead of the usb-c cable, headphone jack, sd card slot etc. im personally used to older phones but would be nice to have a redmi 5 if you prefer the newer charging cable

There are 2 versions of this specific phone, the global version and the Indian version. There's a big difference on both as there's only one front camera, dedicated slots for SIM1 SIM2 and the Memory card (this all is in the Indian version) and all the videos online are about the global version, make sure you see the right one and get the right one.! and ya all these websites and youtubers should make a video for the Non-global version also so people understand and know what they're gonna buy.

Oh, there are plenty of smartphones with larger batteries nowadays. Ulefone (check out Power 5), Doogee among others, have many models with around 10k mah and larger batteries. Yes, they are large and heavy but I'm ok with that. And there are the ones with smaller batteries which are also lighter, like Vernee (the Verne X has 6k). The thing is, I used to have a Redmi Note 4. I got a new phone because of the battery but I really really miss that MIUI skin. Especially the flawless app lock. IOS doesn't even have an app lock, what a joke.

i dont expect crazy fast performance from 3.1, or 5.1... Did you understand problem? on one hand you wrote that Xiaomi have bloadware (it's true), with ads, skin, on other, that 'Nokia' (HMD), runs only on stock (because they dont have at least own skin).. Well, problem is that for example, Note 5 AL (Pro in India), runs way faster, have better battery life, faster opens apps, games, with that heavy skin, than Nokia 5.1 without bolatware (and options also) in that stock UI. Reason is HMD for some reason dont know how to optimize basic software, secon reason is probably MediaTek in those device, but why would we care, and seek reason why HMD chose MediaTek, not Qualcomm, Nokia 5.1 is not phone of 50$, but have similar price like this Note 6 Pro (it's more expensive than Note 5 AL).. stock on Nokias works good on Nokia 6.1, 7 Plus and above, but that is. If you wanna Xiaomi, but with custom rom, why dont you look at MI A2, great phone, great build, have same version like Nokias, but works fluid and fast, have SD660 (for 200$). If you wanna better battery life, there is a Mi A2 Lite, not good as Mi A2, but solid, with great battery life, and price that is really low (145$ for 3/32GB).. Like you see, Xiaomi have phones with MIUI, and with stock -androidone- software, and works ok. I hope some day, HMD will be at same level like those Chinese OEMs..

The simple fact that they even added ads in there is disgusting, regardless of whether you can disable them or not, as far as lag goes on Nokia, every Nokia I've seen was smooth as butter, but I think it's ridiculous that you expect some crazy performance from the 3 or the other low spec devices. If you buy Xiaomi, unlock the phone and slam a custom ROM in there, otherwise I wouldn't touch Xiaomi at all.

"Ads that pop in the settings" .. But, but, with basic knowlege you can disable ads in MIUI, in preloaded, Xiaomi apps. Thats 2 years old news (since MIUI 8), don't tell me you didn't find way for 2 years, or even worse, you're just copy/paste this thing from someone, who didn't know how to disable ad's. To me, Sony have great UI, simple, fast, but not to simple, like 'stock'. Second place goes to MIUI 9, i really like tons of customization, options, and how fast is that heavy customized skin (even on mid range phones, like Note 5 Al..). Samsung Experience in newer Samsung phones is also good (way better than opd Touchwiz, but still, it's based pn same source code). For some reason i don't like to much EMUI, and like i said, stock is best optimized on Pixels, and on that phones work maybe the fastest in Android flagahip segment, but, androidone phones, Xiaomi, Nokia.. On Xiaomi phones, like MiA2, even A2 Lite, works ok without lag, but on Nokia phones like 3, 5, 3.1, 5.1 there is a delay, lag, even in system apps, maybe is something with MediaTek, but thats a Nokia fault. Anyway, this phone, Note 6 Pro is not bad, have good cameras, design, we can hide notch, good battery, screen, and it's cheap.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've read today, In no way is MIUI better optimized than Nokia's software, Xiaomi has great hardware for the price, but the software is trash, from the bloated UI to the ads that pop in the settings or system apps, even with a Treble GSI, you still need to wait a month before you're allowed to unlock the bootloader and actually be able to get rid of MIUI. MIUI is the worst Android skin alongside Huawei's EMUI.

No need for converting, but on most phones Treble is supported, so yes, you can have Samsung, Huaw:i/Honor, Xiaomi, phones with own custom skin(s) Samsung Experience, EMUI, MIUI) and donvert them in 5 minutes to "Stock". But if you have stock, or andeoidone-almost stock, you can't convert them to another rom, if someone does not made (xda developers is best site for that). Even when are there two identical phones for example MiA2\Mi6X, or Mi A2 Lite/ Redmi 6 Pro, on those Xiaomi android one devices you can't put MIUI..

Stock on Nokia phones sucks, its not optimized. Stock on 3 Xiaomi phone is optimized, but thats all, still, stock is for someone who just want text and calls. And about X4 expensive series of phones (Pixels), well, stock is fluid, maybe the fastest eith in flagship levels, but then again, its to simplified. And thats why my dear friend, sold phones with some custom ui/skin, Android phones is about 800 mil, and phones with stock (inc i "android one" smartphones) is 20-25 mil.. Just saying, its not for everybody, like you know stock, and androidone is also on cheaper phones, than mighty Pixels, esp 3XL. Eo you know any smartphone with biger notch? Its almost on half screen.. ;) And abou MIUI, well MIUI 10 have worst battery for 5% than MIUI 9, but if you want better battery life, just stay on 9, and wait little more to Xiqomi optimize 10. Simple as that. Bugs? If you don't make hard reset after big update, there is a chance for bugs, but Xiaomi, like any other OEMs, does not to magic, You (user) need to make manualy. To be honest if someone wants stock, but still better, more customized (at least to have choice of removing search bar, without changing launcher), Sony have good one UI. Only problem is, Sony dont have new smartphones in mid segment at all..

All of them have missing peace of glass (notch), so yes, if notifications dosen't work in Note 6 Pro because of that in MIUI 9, same case is with Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, Mi8 Explorer Edition, Mi 8 Lite, Mi 8 Pro, Pocophone F1, Redmi 6 Pro (Mi A2 Lite), etc... Not really any new news.. Then again, MIUI 10 Global stable, for now have wors battery life than MIUI 9 (Note 5 al is one example). so you need to wait MIUI 10 that works fast as MIUI 9, have same camera quality, and at least same battery life.

Whan i don't get in Redmi Note 5 (Global version) is blue back (i my opinion it looks best), with black front panel. In Note 5 (combination with blue black is white, and thats looks not really good). oh, that's really a relief. because I've never had experience using notch, I'm always worried that the notch will block the app screen. yeah it's better to appear black bars than to block the app screen. beforehand I planned to buy note5 but it suddenly released Note6, but notch made it uncomfortable, but if it's clear about notch, I'd better buy note6, bigger screen.

There is no screen protector in the box, phone comes with screen protector (new), but there is writen some specification, on the back, one sticker, that's a case with all Xiaomi phones, no screen protector in the box or on the screen. In box you get, Charger, MIcro usb 2.0 (still), tpu case, some documentation (in english), and pin tray for sim card. (same as with note 5, Note 4, 5 Plus, Mi 8, Mi A2.... or any Xiaomi phone). But phone have CGG3 same as the Note 5, Redmi 5 Plus, even Redmi 5, with good oleophobic coating.

On landscape, notch is automatically hidden, because of the resolution, if you watch youtube, notch is hidden (even when you zoom YT), if you play games, also, only PubG mobile have full screen support on this (and similar) phones, but if you hide notch in settings, it remainds hiden on PubgM. I'm interested in the hide notch feature, does hide notch work when using the lanscpace mode screen? especially when playing games / watching full screen movies, does the hide notch remain active or active but cuts the application screen (I mean hide notch piled on top of the application screen so that it closes a small portion of the application screen) or active by functioning completely deleting notch (application screen only arrive at the edge of the notch, do not enter the notch area, do not cut the application screen) or only function when portrait mode? thank you for the answer

No it is not same camera setup, back camera(s) yes, but on front Note 6 Pro have 2 cameras, one 2mp for bokeh, another 20mp, selfies from this camera is really good. So thats upgrade from Note 5 (AL) front camera. Also, design is differente on the back. With this phone you can have great blue back with black front (in Note 5 front is white with blue back). I mean ia not bad smartphone, its good just as Note 5 Al, with some differences, there is also option to hide notch. But my point is, this is for new buyers, dont think that Note 6 Pro is way better than Note 5 Al it is not, but in my place, price is similar for same confiration (3/32gb). Note 5 Al costs 158$, and Note 6 Pro 175$, both in global version, so i think that is better to go for newer smartphone. Lets wait GSMArena review i hope endurance battery is the same or at least similar like in Note 5 AL.

Notch is there :) smaller botton is there (compared to Note 5 Al/Pro) Small price tag is there. Really it's not bad phablet. Have bigger screen than Note 5 Al/Pro, but in real compare, Note 6 Pro is little smaller than Note 5 AL/Pro.. Only negativ thing (in my opinion) is plastic frame, but we get tpu in box anyway so..

A month ago, I bought this accidentally for US$150. I only bought it because of the price and it's screen. It was for an 80-year-old who only care about basic phone calls, whatsapp and news apps. Personally, I won't use it. I tried playing a 4K video...it was LOL! It was exactly like playing a PC game at 5fps. Most of my videos are 1080p 60fps HEVC 10bit @1500kbps bitrate and I played those too. They stutter like crazy, maybe at 10fps. It goes to show Snapdragon 636 is not designed for videos. It also doesn't have NFC, therefore I can't use my credit cards and Octopus cards (I am Hong Kong). Another thing I hate is the inability to use Google's voice-to-text function. In my case, unable to install Hong Kong Cantonese voice to text (My 80-year-old parents' Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has no problem). English voice to text also doesn't work so well. Maybe you need to speak Mainland China English accent; My Canadian accent just won't do it. Other than those, the phone's great. It holds and feels better my LG V30+, Samsung Note 8 and S9.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro seems like a device with a low price plus high end features except for the following. The secondary cameras on the front and back don't add any real real benefit such as a telephoto zoom or a wide angle views. You don't need a low resolution secondary camera just for focusing or depth effects. It is really just a two camera phone despite the four camera claim. Also, why is it using an obsolete USB Micro A port instead of USB-C? That makes no sense. Maybe it really is a get what you pay for type phone.

Exactly. They are spending too much on marketing and cutting corners in every way possible. Probably a single coloured LED notification light again, lack of headphone jack, and no IR blaster again. And coming to design, they probably don't know that they don't need to fix what's not broken. Nobody likes notch. The RN5 pro design was good.Instead they should just focus on online consumers because it's the future now.
