  • Lol i'm from France i bought this phone in august 2015 and i had none of the problems ever mentionned below, it seens like phones bought in Europe have a better build quality or am i just having luck tho. The phone was indeed heating very much but never shut down i was just blowing a lot of air on it. Today it still works, only suffers wake lock triggers problems (the phone unlocks and locks very fast for no reasons some times) which i think is due to google play services. Reseting the phone solves the pb but when connecting once to wifi and updating stuff, it's over. So i use it as an "ipod".

  • first phone suffered major overheating while using data, poor battery life and the CPU couldn't operate past 83% RAM otherwise it would automatically restart, then while charging on a table for a half hour, the screen cracked horizontally from the middle on the left side (when looking at phone), to about 3/8" up from the middle on right side. Replaced on warranty at Costco... second phone, suffered same extreme overheating when using data, so hot the phone would auto shutdown (just like the first one), same terrible battery life, terrible screen viewing from all angles except from speaker/home pad end (same as the first one), charging ports never broke... but the screen did, again. in the same exact spot, while charging on the kitchen counter. dropped twice after that and screen completely shattered, no touch feedback at all. removed glass, no touch feedback. both phones suffered extremely laggy performance on even the most basic apps like hill climb racing or youtube, and the second phone would operate above 83% RAM usage but was unusably slow and i downloaded an external app to clear all processes in order to use google chrome or CSR Racing. terrible phone, my Huawei $100 phone had better performance and strength

  • I have owned this phone for 18 months and have had more problems with it than any other phone I've owned. It has had problems with short battery life and now the USB charging port appears to be broken and the phone can't charge. I am going to replace the phone but not with another Acer.

  • I would recommend the ZTE Axon 7. It's $400 CAD/$295 USD (At the current currency exchange). I own an Acer Z410 and it broke after a year. During the warranty, the phone stopped charging 4 times. Now that the warranty is voided, my touchscreen stopped responding to touch and it constantly restarts until the battery died. I got it for Christmas from my parents, and I knew immediately something was going to go wrong. Acer is known for good prices, but also known for low quality. This is also my first Acer product and like you said, going to be my last.

  • The phone is terrible! Old OS, extremely slow, and is prone to damage! The phone stopped charging 4 times and I had to call Acer to fix it for me. Now that my warranty is voided/expired, the phone's screen stopped detecting touch. Go spend a few hundred dollars more on a better phone. Complete waste of money. Like I always say, "Spend less expect less"

  • HONEST OPINION: Worst. Phone. Ever. When you first get it, the phone is going to be the best thing ever, I can't lie. The camera is awesome, apps run well, I can play the most hard core games no problem and the phone is very durable. But after a month or two, the battery one day suddenly wouldn't charge. I had to wait one day (idk why) before it worked again. This happened multiple times. The phone started overheating a lot from simple things like instagram, and facebook. Then the phone got laggy, sometimes the keyboard wouldn't show up and the app would just crash. You cant use any of the Snapchat filters without it crashing, the selefie camera sometimes is horrible but its okay at times. The phone also takes forever to start and open any apps. And a lot of the times the phone would restart FOR NO REASON. ALSO if you charge this phone (100%) and you decide to power it off completely until the next day, IT WILL LOSE BATTERY LIFE. This phone also doesn't get any andriod system updates so you're stuck with 4.4 forever. Nothing can express how much I hate this phone. Pros: - Cool swipe thing to open - Good for a month - Durable - Cheap Cons: - Laggy - Crashes a lot - Horrible battery - Sometimes doesn't charge - Overheats a lot - Restarts for no reason - Keyboard takes forever to show up - Sometimes overheats from nothing - Will lose battery life if TURN OFF COMPLETELY - Can't use Snapchat filters without crashing - Bad camera - Gets no updates

  • I bought my phone in Sep 2015. Within two months, the battery kept dying in a few hours with no use and getting really hot. The screen would also "freeze" and none of the buttons would respond to touch. It would turn black so that you couldn't make or answer any calls. Finally, it would turn itself on and off repeatedly. I sent it in for service, but it was of no help. The only thing that got it working again was to do a factory reset. I downloaded all my photos so they wouldn't be lost, but everything else was wiped out (contact info, email accounts, text message history, etc). After about two months it started acting up again so I repeated the above. The third time this happened, the 'reset' function wouldn't even respond. I am beyond fed up and regret ever buying this phone. It has given me nothing but grief and crappy photos. Would never recommend. Acer has lost me as a customer FOREVER.

  • I bought this phone last May 2015 and in mid-July of the same year it started hanging, battery is heating up fast and unwanted characters are showing up when typing a message, then the screen has turned black even if it is ON and when there is incoming call so it cannot be answered unless the call answer button at the back case is working. and Finally, it unexpectedly Turns OFF and ON constantly, so there's no other way out to make it work again is to remove the battery and restart the phone. I brought it to the computer shop and rebooted twice. It gets better during the first couple of days and after that back to the same error. IT SUCKS! I would never want to try buying ACER product ever again!

  • nice phone, nice price. First the screen cracked whilst in my pocket, then the battery stopped charging and the radio stopped working; the reason for buying it really. Barely 2 months old and i haven't dropped soaked thrown or yelled at this one. Of course this is a DTS stereo disappointment out of the box, but dead is less than 2 months? Acer will have to do better than that to keep my interest.

  • It is normal to work a front speaker acer Liquid Z410. On youtube there are videos that operates the two front speakers, or depends on country region.

  • the acer liquid z410 8gb duel sim is amazing for the price , but remember there are 2 versions of this phone , its available in usa at moment and some countrys like germany and france , but not uk i wonder why ..... i got mine from france , it is well made ive dropped it several times and not even a scratch , it cost me under £90 including postage so shop around .... for the price its still best on the market .. most if any issues can be fixed with apps , batt life good, cam front and back good 5mp and 2mp front , calls with duel sim great if you float it runs 2 networks at same time , sms excellent ,calls great sound input and output sounds great , wireless link to tv using app great, battery using app great , dts sound good , screen brightness good, sharpness good , charge time good with app , speaker sound good , could be be better on ram but its never lagged with me , had this phone for almost a year glad i got it ..... for the price nothing toches it AMAZING ......READ THE STATS ON PHONE

  • Nope. None. Nada. Don't get your hopes up, buddy. But this is acer's MO. They rarely, if ever, upgrade their OS to the newest ones.

  • This is my first and last acer mobile device. I bought this together with an iconia b1-750 tablet mid last year hoping that at least they woiuld get a lollipop update within the year since both are relatively new (both were introduced early 2015). Great specs for the price. Great price for the specs. But after getting tired of constantly asking (and not getting answered) on various social media outlets, not to mention their official community forum, if both units would get a lollipop update, I gave up! I saw some users say that acer is great on price and hardware, but that's it. No upgrade path for the most part. I'm dumping acer and I'm going to try and find a company who makes decent enough products without gouging the price for their customers. And not leave them without a solid upgrade path as per the original mandate of Google for using their OS for free (the mandate states that an OEM/company must support their products for at least 18 months from the launch with OS updates and upgrades). Maybe that's why Acer can't get a foothold on any market they enter. They just leave their customers hanged out to dry in the OS upgrades and their PR sucks! They should just stick to making PC's and windows phone. At least they don't have to worry about putting resources for updates. Microsoft does it for them.

  • Bought it at Costco, and glad I did because the return was easy. Phone was terrible. Lots of lag running almost every app, using the keyboard to write SMS and emails was laggy. Had to pause after every word just to make sure it was keeping up, and then when the SMS was ready to send, it would take minutes to actually send it.

  • I left the phone in car during the night, temperature is about -15 °C. The screen got cracked. Checking with Acer customer service, the screen is not covered by warranty.

  • Not having any regrets for this phone, loving it for 6 months now. 😍 Pros: One of the best, if not THE best, gaming phone in its price range. Decent battery life. Decent design. Front speakers is a + for me. Screen resolution is a tad better compared to similar priced phones. Cons: Heats at the upper side of the phone when gaming with wi-fi on. Even hotter when using mobile data while playing the same games. Below average back and front camera. Bezel's too thick for me. Take note of the cons before buying this phone. The biggest of those is the heating issue, when you play and have mobile data the phone might lag when you use it in a place above 35° above. The question I would like to ask though is that if this phone model have an OS upgrade?

  • Just updated. An update pack is available OTA. It's about 27.5 MB pr something. Unfortunately it's still not a lollipop update. Probably a security and system update.

  • I've bought it about 2 weeks ago. It has 1gb RAM and not 2, but still very fast! Camera quality could be better. Battery can hold maximum 2 days even if you are busy with phone the hole day. BUT, when you are talking with the phone, the quality of the voice is not so good and clear... For this price, maybe another one would be better, like sony xperia 4g, huawei.

  • nope. haven't rooted my z410. i'm also wary of putting custom roms because i'm afraid of losing acer's built-in "quick touch" and "acerRAPID" functionality. for me those features alone icreases the value of the z410. i'm thinking that maybe there is a delay in the update to lollipop is because acer's trying to optimize those functionalities with v.5.x.x. i hope.

  • Just got it last week...Coming from a problematic screen on my LG G2. Had some problems connecting, now i got the phone to work fine with my data connection, but the phone keeps warning me that I'm roaming. Tried turning off "Roaming" in the settings, but then there is no data. So far the network says I have no added charges, so I'm ok....just annoying that the roaming keeps opening...but I'm super unpressed with the screen and quality of the device!....considering the low price...its great!....and I'm coming from a super high quality HD LG G2 screen, which is now in heaven with the Angels lol :)

  • I know, right? I've been pestering acer over at twitter and google plus about the lollipop update now that android marshmallow v.6.0 have been announced. No replies of any kind. I've also been reading in their community forums. All that the moderators would say was "always keep checking for updates". I have two acer units. This phone and the iconia b1-750 tablet, both of which were only released early this year, and both still on kitkat with no solid upgrade path to lollipop at the present!

  • This is pretty stupid. Why release a new handset now with 4.4.4? This is perpetuating the problem. These two handsets will always be way behind, will probably forever have security vulnerabilities because by the time Acer gets around to moving it up to the next version (if that ever happens), that version will have already had vulnerabilities published.

  • Maybe you got a damaged unit. (Knock on wood), so far so good on my unit. Works excellent! LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth connections even GPS are a-okay. You should have your unit checked out by an authorized service center or have it replaced.

  • I think they're both lte active. You can choose which sim card is designated for data connection. Unlike in my old lenovo s930 and p780 where there is only one choice of which sim card is for data connection.

  • Found a solution to this by deleting the contact in my google contacta instead.

  • I found a bug of sorts. If you have the same contact stored on both your sim cards and google contacts, when you call that person or the person calls you, the "incallui" app crashes unabling you to answer the call but the call comes through.

  • this is a pretty great phone both specs wise and price. it's one of the cheaper 4G LTE compatible phone with a 64-bit processor. this is already within the upper-midrange level specs but the price is surely entry level, way better than the majority of those chinese branded phones (this is Taiwanese. there's a difference). aside from specs, the build quality is quite excellent. it's hefty without noticeable creeks or flex. the speaker is quite loud. sad it's only monoaural. camera is pretty decent for a 5MPX unit. battery life is excellent. i can go through a whole day without recharging it in the middle of the day just to make sure that it lasts until i get home from work. the added functionality that acer installed is pretty innovative and practical. the acerrapid and quicktouch are a Godsend. bloatware is a definite negative. seems in order for acer to meet the price point, they have added a few 3rd party apps, greatly impacting the internal storage. another negative would be the absence of usb otg. i do hope that when this gets a lollipop update, it would include the driver/functionality of usb otg. that's it for now, i guess.

  • Unfortunately, the z410 has no usb otg capability. Just tried it on my z410 and no luck.

  • You just need an otg cable. Search in YouTube if you're in doubt. Tried this with a lenovo p780 and it works without rooting. But first, you have to make sure your phone is usb otg capable to do this or no amount of rooting can help you.

  • possible it is one the bad phone i have experience nothing is good about this phone it is off from fifiteen days is not starting. ihave give for service just to check they are taking 15 days possible one of the bad experience i had with this mobile i have wasted my money and times and transportation. since they writing COMTEL WARRENTY when i go their they are telling GEANT peoples put the stolen stircker as is thouth that this an acer company it is good i reccomnded you not purchase this set battery is verrry weak not even 2 hours.

  • finally i found a way out of QUICK mode. go to settings> apps> running> quick mode> clear cache/data and force stop....and it did go back to standard menu without resetting the phone.

  • Because that means their is only 1 speaker available for music...the other one is design for calling only......Their is another minor update about 38Mb...I think its just for system bug fixes

  • yes it's a good phone. it doesnt lag with apps such as facebook,messenger,viber,skype running on the background. front cam is bad while rear is only good when there is sufficient lighting such as outdoors or in well-lit environment..macro shots however are decent and has the right focus...so if you're a selfie or photo addict, look for another phone. But performance wise, it's fast enough. recently benchmarked it in antutu latest version at 29,172 points.

  • CORRECTION.....Yes it has Dual grill top and buttom but no DUAL SPEAKER...only The buttom Grill Speaker works...I think the Dual Grill is just for style,design and look. The top grill is only used for incoming Call Speaker...I have tried to play music,games and video.

  • I have it 2 months ago and my review : - Overheating so fast if you are using data/browsing internet, moreover in low signal area. - The error occur when you activate Whatsapp, because the digital clock & weather widget in the lock screen can't synchronized well with Whatsapp system. Solution = de-activate the clock & weather widget in the lock screen. Overall it's not bad for the phone with that price

  • One of the best phones in this price range. Chipset is realy good and will work smoothly for a long time, i think. DTS and speakers are cool too, but i need to hear to say something about quality.
