Acer Predator 8 - User Reviews

  • How long you are waiting for? :)

  • Can't even watch Netflix. Poor battery, needs to be charged everyday and I don't even use it. I'm a big fan of Acer but this is a let down.

  • If you're looking for a gaming tablet, then you should really get the Nvidia Shield- or the Nvidia Shield K1. The only thing that could really hold you back is the price point. (Forget about this tablet!) (It's trash!)

  • Just wait and see if they will release the acer predator 6 with 4gb of ram

  • WAIT WHAT!? I cant remove the batteries!? Im so dead....-_-

  • That's my concern as well. Even when it was released, 2 GB was borderline. Today it's very low for such a dedicated device. Hopefully Acer will release an updated Predator soon!

  • please people let me know, I have some doubts about this tablet, Im a fan of android gaming, but really how long do you think 2GB o RAM, will be enough for new coming games and updates???

  • Got this on lazada for about usd 170. Nice one. Very bright. Like it a lot. But battery not that good.

  • Go for it. Worth it for sure.

  • No im not buying secondhand but im planning to buy a brandnew tegra note.. Which is so affordable right now its $70 ..

  • Tegra Note 7 is a damn good tablet. I own that and the Shield and I gotta say, the Tegra is still very powerful. I have mine rooted on Android 4.4.4, and I love it. The stylus is very well designed, and in my opinion, the rubber on the back, and the stylus, are more well designed than on the Shield. Are you buying used?

  • No root.

  • Hey you are a user of Tegra Note 7? How's the performance? is it still can play heavy games? I know this is off topic but i plan to buy this tablet!

  • I know the Nvidia Tegra Note 7 had a 2.1 speaker setup (although the bass driver seems pretty useless, or mine had a defective one).

  • More like: pretty damn anemic.

  • I don't think there is any 2.1 speaker setup in tablet, save for every laptop in the world, which virtually don't has one, maybe only bulky gaming laptop have one. You should understand that the .1 stand for low frequency/bass driver, or in common term are normally sub woofer, which is much bigger and heavier than any satellite speaker. So, please forget the request on 2.2 speaker, you are asking too much. (Even LED LCD TV, 1080p or 4K TV don't have them in common setup)

  • Gaming spec should focus more on processor and graphic chip capability. Screen at least 1080p is standard, battery is advisable more than 10,000mah, because more powerful processor and graphic chip actually draw more power. RAM should be not an issue with at least 3GB, since we only focus on playing one game at one time, unless we want switch between game for multitask. It is save to say that the upcoming device with Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 graphic, 6GB RAM are king of gaming device, rather than this pretentious Acer. Even the device old Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 graphic should be much more capable and compatible with most heavy graphic game. Bear in mine, Android apps and games are more compatible to Qualcomm chip.

  • I try to answer one by one. The Nvidia Shield tablet K1 should be much better than this. Part of the issue is not the raw processing power between the two, but is the compatibility issue between the two. Shield K1's Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, which is build upon ARM architecture has much better compatibility with all the apps and heavy graphic game in the apps store rather compare to the Intel chipset. Personally I own a Intel chipset of ASUS Zenfone 2, and I face issue with the compatibility especially on high graphic game, where it`s graphic is rendered wrongly, or being tuned down, or not as beauty as those ARM based.

  • According to Acer forums the Predator 6 will be released towards the end of the year, quote "Q4". I hope it can match the hype, I am disappointed by the 2gb RAM in a 'gaming tablet', to be honest.

  • Cool, but i'm looking for Predator 6, what happened to it?

  • maybe.....:LoL

  • wow

  • The GPU is more likely HD Graphics of Cherry Trail.

  • No GPU???

  • predator 6

  • I'm from Philippines and just bought this tablet a week ago, it was the best tablet for me since my tegra note lte had problems in lollipop and that I badly needed one, I just made a great deal kudos to acer!

  • 4 speakers? Why just not put a 2.1 speakers or 2.2 instead of 4 speakers.

  • spec gaming should be: 1080p screen 64gb rom 3gb/4gb ram 5000mah battery quad/octa core

  • amazing

  • I just buy this tab, and its not a gaming tablet... very painful pointed edge, can't play long painful to hands.

  • what about the glass? its not gorilla glass, what is it?

  • i love the style of this device... cool!!

  • I haven't found a review for this tablet yet but is this better than the Nvidia Shield tablet K1?

  • Its a pretty decent normal tablet for me, doesn't see any gaming material on this tablet other than its design.

  • If you have 4g internet and gps with your mobile phone then its for you!

  • yes it can :) All smartphones can :)

  • There you go.

  • Hi. Not exactly hard to find out is it. I mean your on the internet yeah? It actually states it on the in the news article linked to this entry as well. But for your convenience.... As per practically all Intel chips for very many years the CPU has onboard GPU. In the case if this Atom chip its an 8th generation intelHD GPU, 16 execution units (cores I guess) with a base frequency of 200mhz and a burst speed of 600mhz... For a tablet that's a pretty hefty GPU. The chip itself, compared to the desktop PC world is not epic by any stretch if the imagination, but according to Passmarks CPU benchmark list it ranks just ever so slightly behind the 1st generation Core i3 chips. So again, for an android tablet, that's pretty damn powerful I would suggest.

  • Can it play coc?

  • Where's GPU??? A great looking phone with small battery for its size but i dont see any graphic chipset. How this nice and expensive piece of junk running newest games and and other apps, requiring GPU. I.E. Graphic card.

  • Specs are not so great that's sad

  • Looking at the specs... Is it really a gaming tablet??

  • i think never, they know they dont have the best screen and battery and so for that is trowing the predator 6 as far as they can because is worthless. I am intressed in that too but for the long it takes to release the phone and launch it to the markets i think i will buy other phone! this phone dont worth the wait.

  • when will they release the predator 6?

  • 8 incher with full hd res and only 4420mah batt? you'll gonna have to charge it more often
