I've been using this cellphone since last 2 years....The highlights are it's screen which can kill any other higher priced phone in its category...its screen is just one of the best and amazingly vibrant ... Pure class also the sound having deeper bass and perfect mid and lows which doesn't sound like a cellphone speaker...It's just premium...The only thing that isn't good is it's built quality... Which is kind of plasticy and not welcomed

I have this phone for almost 2 years and I really enjoy it. It takes good pictures and has great sound with the JBL handsfree. I don't have any problems when I use it for emails or some organizer apps. The battery is fine - the phone can be used normally almost 2 days without recharging - for calls and some browsing, but no games. Although it has some issues: sometimes needs restart to stop the lagging, but it's that big of a deal. Also the GPS seems to be not working properly - I tried different applications, but it's always the same result - when I take the wrong road it just stops working. Also when playing games it's overheating.

i am not able to read the texts/sms in regional language. early days it was possible but after a factory rest it appears as some dots and blanks. Now i am reading it by copying the text and paste it in a local language viewer. any possibility to set the phone to direct read in local language?

Just bought new unit on 3 may 2016. Try to upgrade OS to v4 kit kat but was told by service center cannot be done without proper explanation. My old unit bought in 2014 was upgraded with v4 kit kat in 2015 by the same service center. Why the new unit OS cannot be upgraded?

I bought Alcatel idol x+ on January 2016. So far I like the quality of the camera, sound record and whatnot. But the problem now is, it hangs quite frequently. Especially when I use Google chrome, play games and downloading videos/mp3s. It even hanged when I try to make calls. Has anyone else has ever experienced this problem? Oh and! I just root the phone in accordance to what majority of people had asked me to do. didn't change a thing. Therefore, to summarise, I am very disappointed. 😔

I love this smart phone performance is genia , have more than 50 applications and many with demanding graphics and have had no problems , other smart phones get stuck and others, this is not , I love its design and colors , are great, kitkat version is no problem because it is a good OS and works great , very good phone.

if you did not do 'root' your phone , then try this; hold down the volume up key and press power key at same time until the screen lights up to boot the device with recovery mode , and then press volume up\down to select the wipe data factory reset. this will erase all personal data from internal storage.

I have purchased ALcatel one touch idol x+ last year from flipkart. I like the design, display, camera, sound quality of the phone. But, i'm very disappointed with the performance of the phone. it hangs quite often particularly when there is an incoming call. I have uninstalled CM security software that keeps running in background but still the same issue. Has anyone faced the same problem and resolved the issue?

Hi , I also face teh same problem- of loudspeaker getting disconnected randomly, and the volume getting low on its own almost every time the loudspeaker in switched on. I have not yet tried to repair it, If anyone tried can share experience. By the way, this issue irritated me once that led to the screen getting damaged ( since the loudspeaker returns back to normal when you hit the mobile few times- once i hit little hard & it cracked). Below post I have posted teh link - where you can attempt to get the spare glass/ panel I am yet to get it changed from a mobile repair shop- will post comment with experience.

Hi, Also had the same issue with glass getting damaged with minor fall ( doubt for the gorilla glass). Also, the service guy asks 8500/- ( in Bangalore) - amazing !! The one costs 9000/- They mean that the rest of the phone is worth only 500/- ( Fools - trying to fool us further!). Checked the site for cheaper screen replacement - have doubts for it getting a correct fit . The phone specs are good - would retain it if repaired- since the after sale market is worthless ( not even 1000/- for a year old model), else I think I will go for a new one- this time a better model ( which has good resale value) .

I used this phone for 1 year and now my screen is broken from my 2 yr old daughter's bite. Can't believe the Gorilla glass can break from a toddler's bite. Touch is completely gone, but display is working. The authorized service centre is asking for INR 8500 for screen+touch combo replacement, while the entire phone is available at the cost of INR 9000 in the same e-commerce site where I bought it for INR 18,000 an year ago. I found the spare parts online for cheaper rates (around INR 2500), but not sure which one can fit this phone. Anybody who has done this before, please suggest me a suitable display+touch combo from this list?

I bought a faulty Idol X+ (crashing after loading android), which was totally unusable. Sometimes the last displayed screen would freeze, other times screen went black and vertical lines started appearing. As I have no warranty I took the risk of doing what some people do with laptop and PC motherboards and GPU cards: cook it in the oven to reflow soldering. I removed everything from the motherboard of the smartphone and cooked it at 170C for a few minutes and waited for it to cool down without opening the oven door. Now it works great! Search "XDA S960 problem solving" where I wrote about it in detail.

After few months, I hawe to say it is not the best, but quiet good for money I spent on it (about 200 €). The major issues are over heating (few times screen got so hot that it could not be tuched without feeling your fingers burn !!!) and wifi (for me, it lose connectivity just when browsing, needs to turn wifi off and on again, then works). I am missing 4G a bit, is's cpu is not worth much and may be cause of overheating. At last it's display is pretty good, battery life is also ok (about 3-4 days per charge for me). Encoutered just one system lag yet. Android version: 4.4.2 , rooted, uninstalled blotware (no newer android update available !!!) I would rate it 7/10 +display +battery life +JBL ! -wifi instability -overheating

In initial 4-5 months I didn't have any problem,but after having the update it started lagging, slowness kills,and Wi-Fi goes problematic thing.you will be connected to WiFi but u can't access internet until you restart your phone. Voice quality is good. Battery is not bad. More frequent updates on apps so ram gets filled sooner. I think that's the cause for slowness.but not sure. By now if you ask me about the rating u would give 5/10.Thereare new phones in the market:-)

excellent phone all over! Flawless screen with gorilla glass, premium feel and design, good enough cpu and gpu to play high-end games (sure you can find better gpu, but at this price range...) and while using it every day i never noticed a lag, plus it's dual sim. The only drawbacks is the lack of sd slot and a little bit the battery (if you install "one power guard" apk you will notice big difference).

It is a 13MP. The camera application is 16:9 by default and thus you cant go more than 10MP but if you install another camera application and you choose 4:3, you get 13MP for sure. In fact, i have installed the lenovo application on this phone and it works fine. You can find it on XDA developers site. The 3 MP difference occurs due to different size 16:9 and 4:3

I am using this cell. It is satisfying as quality/price comparison. Fast, without lags it is good. But one thing very strange i found, that its Main camera is not of real 13 mega pixel as written in its specifications, (no doubt its picture and video is not under quality ) it is of 4.9 mega pixel, i discover this using a software CPU X. But it take a picture with max.13 meg pix . The camera with this range 4.9 mp don't give you sufficient zooming possibility of taken pics. I think Alcatel must not dodge his costumers.

You can use mobile upgrade s software from Alcatel official website.. BT you can update using PC only, it downloads firmware files about 1.5gb. It took one whole day to download the firmware being 4mbps broadband service coz their server is very slow.. And also be sure you keep backup of your data as it erases everything...

I just got an Idol X+, still brand new in the box for $150. What a great deal! I have a Galaxy s4, iPhone 5, and Nexus 5 in the house. This runs circles around them. Build quality is phenomenal, amazing screen, music is awesome through the external speaker, battery is very good. Still on Kit Kat, but what's the big deal? Install Google launcher and Google keyboard and you have 99% of the lollipop experience.

I am using this phone for last 10 months. Best value for money. Have not been able to find equivalent features in any other brand ( except Chinese ) . Sound decible seems little less. But fine othervise Recently bought Sony Xperia Z ultra. But I would rate Alcatel one touch Idol X+ 6043 better. Dear guys, I am using the IDOL X+ for nearly an year, but recently for the past few weeks I am facing a problem in viewing the photos in gallery. The photos are available in the folder but it is not viewed in Gallery. I performed with a factory data reset as well but still I couldn't view the photos in Gallery. But it is not all the photos the few of the images are can be viewed in gallery. The phone is available with more than 3 GB of free space. Previously I dont have any issue like this, I could view all the images & photos in gallery irrespectively which folder it is. Please provide me some solution to get rectify from this.

Enable Settings->'Battery management'-> 'Saving Mode' and give it a try. Alternate suggestions are under the same menu, you can get list of applications which consumes more battery. Uninstall them or report it. PS: This phone has Octa-core processor. If too many apps are running in phone, and 8 cores can come active, which will consume too much power. It is better to un-install unwanted widgets and apps. Esp. WiFi,3G etc. can use too much power.

Using it for 2 months.. Cams are HD(you need to focus first), really really good. Battery is exactly 2500 on my 32gb ram dual-sim variant. Before, the only issue I have is that it increases its temperature so fast, tho I had no complaints because it can handle the heaviest of apps. But then... It finally gave up, it has been freezing, crashing, rebooting, and all over again. I've searched it on different online forums any many have similar experience and you have to reset everything to factory settings... Its really a shame....

Avoid buying this phone..Have been using it since past eight months and it has regularly given me trouble..it is a good looking phone but just not dependable..the metallic finish on the edges gives it a premium look but the ugly white plastic frame below the finish has started showing up in four months time..the phone works better in indoors and there seems to be a problem in the antenna circuits..particularly when you are travelling..the phone overheats when apps are running..And the service network of Alcatel is absolutely good for nothing..Go for the phone only if you have a standby handset..

Don't purchase mobile from Flipkart, even I had a bad experience. I bought I phone 6 and I face the same problem of over heating and the speaker problem, these Flipkart people's or cheating and struggled to get my money back after 20 days. So the problem is not in the mobile it's mainly the Flipkart cheaters.

Do you really think this phone is supplied and backed up by a 1000mah, just because CPU-Z says so? If that was the case the phone just wouldn´t be able to stand out half a day....With this power hungry processor it ust wouldn´t b possible at all. The problem cames to poor power management of the ROM, also also the Mediatek processor which isn´t not much eficient... By far this isn´t a reaalible phone , mine went to repairment after just over 6 months...Fortunately under the warranty. They changed the batery and also the mother board...Lets see how it handles from now on....

Hi..first of all the alcatel comes with the battery power of 1000mah instead of 2500mah which is the main cause for quick battery drainout and reg.the update of 135mb it is not going to change the firmware version as well the build no. if you already have 4.4.2 . The camera gives the better pics at day time only. The signal dropouts and over heating gives more irritation of regular use. The better use of this phone is as media player.

Finally the update for Kit Kat has arrived to the EMEA region. At least the offical update, for 4.4.2.... It works fine altough the batery life could be better. The Xperia E4 dual that i gave to my wife is a lot better. 9/10, if it weren´t for the battery. i don´t think this one will ever get lollipop unfortunately :(

I purchased alcatel onetouch mobile from flipcart. In only three days phone becomes overheated starting after few minutes.When given for servicing in service center, he said motherboard of phone is damaged due to water dropping,and no warranty liable for water dropping and cast of repair would be 6900/ while cost of this mobile is only 9999/-. You should check which application is draining your battery. I charge my battery once in 3 - 4 days and make sure none of those useless apps are running in my phone.

I am completely unsatified with this mobile. FLIPKART should not promote these kind of products. I bought this phone on Aug 2014. at the initial months this phone looks good and fancy as well. Everyone looks this like a precious jewel in my hand. Unfortunately i couldn't get cover anywhere for this phone. the outer-side edges are designed with very poor quality. hence the normal wear and tear caused ugly look of the phone. Pathetically the performance of the phone came down after 5 months of usage. suddenly the phone started overheating even it was not in use even after all apps are stopped forcefully. Immediate after that the phone was kept rebooting and went to dead in the mid of 6th month. I send it for service and came back with battery replacement. Last month again the phone was keep rebooting and i sent it for service once again. service center informed me that the mother board is damaged because it was dropped. But i never dropped my phone. This phone is not at all a durable phone. May be you can buy and keep it in showcase so that it looks beauty like a Teen-girl. But if you start use it within 4 months it will become a granny for you. Please be cautious. So what i am going to do is, I am going to ask my 5 months old son to keep his butt on this phone top so that will be crashed. Co owners of this phone please do the same so that you don't have to spend your effort like the money got wasted by buying this phone

Hi! I have been using this phone for more than 6 months now and have also upgraded to 4.4.2 baseband version 6592. I would like to share one thing, which I have discovered. If you update the phone over OTA, than it will not work fine and will have issues. Please update the phone only with the official update software by connecting to the laptop/computer. I have done the OTA update earlier and it was having problems like other people have mentioned. But once I updated it again by connecting to the laptop with update software, now the update is working fine and phone has no problem at all. Battery life has also increased. Regarding heating issue, Friends all the phones get heated while paying playing high end games. You will not get this specification and looks for such a price. Buy this phone and update it in right way through internet on laptop and you will not regret your decision.

Using this phone since last 3 months. These are the problems I am facing. 1) SIM card will not be recognizable all of a sudden and we need to restart the phone. 2) callers will get a message saying your phone is switched off. Worst thing to happen and you don't even know since when the phone is not working. You would have missed many calls. 3 Times phone was replaced by Flip kart & software is updated ; still same problem occurring again and again. Yes this is happening with me. And since the update in Dec my phone won't answer calls in my car with the Bluetooth. Worked fine up until the update and all other phones still work in my car. Hi all I've got a problem with my Alcatel X+ : when I use antivirus application to scan my phone , it warns that Devive Management is a malware Unfortunately , this is a core app. installed when I upgraded my cell to Kitkat and the source was provided by phone's system . Therefore there's no way for me to uninstall this app (Device Management) Could anyone advise me if it's really a dangerous app. or just a misunderstanding of the antivirus program ? In case the danger is true , I guess we should be worried of this bcos Alcatel now sold phone activities to TCT ( a Chinese brand ) and what happened with Xiaomi may happen to our cells. Before buying any Alcatel product, try all the customer service numbers on the website and if you are even able to get thru' one of them you can decide to buy. I tried for 10 continuous days, and when none were working, I gave up trying their numbers. And now I have no idea where my phone is and what happened to that. The local alcatel authorized serviced center (Sri Sai Cell, Jayanagar 9th Block, Bangalore) i had handed over to, is another useless center. Their attitude is such that, they are doing a favor to us. They aren't efficient enough to run the business. They don't understand what service means. They are running it like a grocery shop. Despite of emailing to Alcatel customer care about their phone-lines, no action has been taken.

Agree with previous opinions. Mine was upgraded manually to kitKat, because Alcatel was unable to deliver the update to Europe (Spain) and i think they never will. now the device is with custom ROM stock based of course, thanks to xda Forums. The perfomance, batery and screen also the device weight are major plus. Don´t know about you but i do like the jbl headphones, but if you want better there are plenty to choose out there. Camera interface could be better, also it´s night perfomance could be better but far from poor. one of the best devices in its range if you don´t about the lack of sd slot and 4G conectivity :)

After one week I can tell nice dual sim phone for quite good price, there is all for standard smartphone user, nice design and display, quick response, sufficient battery. To be honest I´m fighting only with the camera as my previous smartphone was HTC One S and it was much better. hi friends........unfortunately alcatel has not lived upto the expectations of many...they recently launched a new phone the one touch Flash 6042d as a pre-lauch offer at rs 9999/- and expected release date as end of Nov. they have partnered exclusively with flipkart..... now today being 1 st Dec there are still no news of the mobile phone's released .... the most hilarious part is when you call the flipkart agents...no offense to them but they are poorly educated about their product......one of the agent told me that it would take 1000 DAYS from its launch as its a mandatory requirement !!! i was shocked and made him realize that its close to 2 and a half years.later he corrected himself and made it 500 days which still dint convince me he then again told me it would not be until Aug 2015 for the phone to be ready.... he explained to me in details that it normal as this was an exclusive pre launch offer........... who the hell waits for 1000/500 days after pre order booking .....funniest part there is NO confirmation from ALCATEL itself..... felt like cheated

This is my first Alcatel mobile and it is an amazing one. I paid only Rs 14990.00 for this Full HD, 2GHz OCTA CORE, 2GB RAM mobile and Rs 449.00 for its back pouch(I purchased it from another online shop). I think no other mobile will available for this price with the same specifications. The positiveness of this mobile are, 1. Amazing FULL HD display. Easily visible at any warmly sunlight. Wide viewing angles. 2. Amazing speed for any high end game. 3. Good battery backup. I am getting almost two days backup with full time 2G/Wi-Fi connection with face book and whattsapp and almost one hour calls per day. 4. Good ring volume. 5. Good speed for Wi-Fi and GPRS. 6. Few things about the phone i would like to share. Pro's * Great phone. * Good performance. Cons * Bad Battery backup (esp when using 3G or GPS) * Back cover gets scratched easily. After update to Kitkat 4.4.2, there hasn't been any issues i have faced. Regarding the screen > Beautiful display. My phone has fallen twice, screen side, but fortunately i didn't face any issues. People complaint about the screen costing 9k in the service center. But then thats the same price they ask for an S3 original screen...!

You have to root your mobile to install kannada fonts. but the problem is rooted phones wont receive OTA updates. Alcatel blocked updates to Rooted phones. You have to carry it to the service center to fully flash the device which makes all your data get erased... coz this is what happened with me.. i rooted the device and installed many fonts but when the update released i couldnt updated it even after cleaning the root. so finally i had to carry it to service center. But recently i found a solution to install fonts without root. that is from recovery itself. TWRP recovery does the good job. But it is a long process..

3 Months before I bought this model. Mobile touch glass broken just slipped from 2 ft height. Damn sure that they are not using �CORNING GLASS�. Worst service in Chennai not picking calls and by direct visit they are asking for Rs.9000/- for changing the glass. Utter waste of money. 1. Did you apply to the latest patch. My 4.4.2 version had this 194MB patch applied and then I felt the signal drops got reduced. Also you can switch off 3G and use only 2G. That also helped me. 2. No idea about that. 3. Did you disable all the junk software which you are not using? Did you turn off GPS and network when not in use. With moderate use, i charge my phone once in 4 days. I feel this is very good battery life. I disabled all the apps which I do not use.

Yes the update had raised many problem like freequent signal drop, keep on netowrk search etc. No bugs other than the network issue. Now recently i got another update of about 194 mb and after this update all the bugs regarding the network issue are resolved and now i am very happy. even battery performance is very good. Now i am fully satisfied with this handset. JBL headphone is of very high quality it beats the sony XB in ear headphones. sound quality after 194 mb update, now the headphone sound is very loud and clear. While playing games the handset gets heated.. but it is ok. all the handset have this problem.

I have three major issues with the phone. 1) Signal drops and searches for network automatically, it happens very frequently. 2) Network shows R symbol even if we are not on Roaming. 3) Battery drains very fast and it hardly lasts for half a day with moderate usage. I have This phone bought from flipkart. The latest firmware is 4.4.2 with build# 01010. The OTA updates failed to install showing some errors Corrupt in files., but I did full update using the their Software on PC ( Mobile Upgrade S 4.1.7). As many people posted below the build number did not change after an update, may be its a patch. The Phone performance is good and I am impressed with build quality with this price. Its a Good buy !!. For me,battery will last average 1 day on 3G/Wifi usage. Does any one know how to disable CPU cores( It has octa core) which I guess by disabling some cores may improve battery life.

The mobile is supplied with Android 4.4.2 version and also firmware update to do with 194 mb size by yourself. No harmful behavioural changes noticed after update. Update for OS 4.4.4 is awaiting from the company.

Hello everyone, it is very possible that I will buy this phone. Tell me for sure if the update of the prebuild OS (4.2.1) results in problems. I searched internet there are mixed opinions. If there are problems as I seen like overheating, losing signal and others I will keep the prebuild OS as long as phone works good. I am afraid of updating cause my current phone after official update to 4.1 (lg optimus p880 hd) is nearly uselless. In fact there was no update in Android Kit Kat version (presently 4.4.2). However, there was firmware version of 94 mb size, which can be uploaded using wi fi connection as it take over one hour and later there will be robooting of the phone. Alcatel IdolX+ is a fine a verastile phone and comparing to its configrations, it is cheap and affordable. There were recently firmware update (194 MB. If you go >setting>about phone>system update> you have to click system update, it is good to use wi fi for download. It takes more than one hour. Then there will be auto roboot. It is not update of the andoroid KIT KAT, which is persumed by many users. It there is heating problem, go for factory reset like backup and reset>factory data reset>. You can backup your phone directory and music/vidoes/ however, all applications will be erased and these can be downloaded later.

I got my idol x+ from Flipkart and it was already pre-loaded with 4.4.2. I checked for updates last week and it was saying no updates. I was already in build 01010. Today it said I have an update and I downloaded 194 MB file and update completed successfully. But still the build is 01010. I do not know what is the update it did. I did notice that couple of new icons got added to the toggle menu. Not sure whether it improves the call drop issue.

hello guys!i have updated my alcatel one touch idol x+ to kitkat version today many have doubts,i think i can help them. first of all there is an update of size of 63.8 mb ,which is for bug fixes after updating that,you will see another update of size 489.2mb ,which is of kitkat version some are asking about the changes after kitkat,so here there are: 1)weather and time widget 2)pre installed asphalt 7 was removed and z-app was given 3)in settings you got the new options like scheduled on/off ,printing 4)in sound column ,you have an option to set the vibration level 5)notification drawer slight changed by adding profiles,saving mode options 6)after rebooting the mobile i was getting 1.4 ram(after update) starts and remain constant at 1.1 -1.2gb ram instead of 1.6 gb ram (before update)due to highly customised ui as now one touch laucher uses 100 mb ram 7)battery draining stopped gives more battery life 8)now there is no option to set a colour to particular network signal 9)atlast ,there are no problems for my mobile like others said about led when fully charged,sim deactivating,3g not working etc.............................. now alcatel ui became more smoothier (before update there was lag while zooming in /out homescreen) and settings open quickly and now we can install apps like google camera etc...kitkate apps these are the things i noticed after update bye,guys

I bought this phone from flipkart; it was working well; I upgraded to kitkat; then my friends started complaining that my phone was not reachable on many occasions; I realised that my alcatel idol x+ could not be reached when I see full signal on my handset; I had to restart and then the phone started working. I gave the phone to the Mumbai service centre and they replaced the PCB; now the phone is working well on android 4.2.2. So friends please do not update to android kitkat on this phone; if you are thinking of buying this my advice: "please avoid - service is very poor"

A good feature is, many of the unnecessary apps can be uninstalled. Viz. live wallpaper. Also, Use some tool such as clean master and see what is using up your CPU, Memory and cleanup some junk files. OTG is supported. But there is no option to directly record video into OTG device from devices like Camera (In KitKat version).

the network problem is quite common with kitkat after upgradation be it samsung,sony or our cellphone. its just samsung sony habe service centres unfortunately alcatel does not have service centres even it is only one or two in delhi that too hopeless ones. its all about luck with alcatel idol x+ if u dont have any problem tjere is no other best phone in india at this price and have then u have the worst phone in market due to non availibility of service centres.

Display is crystal clear. Yesterday I did kit Kat update successfully for second attempt thru FOTA. After the upgrade, RAM capacity is increased by 50percent.Camera has improved a lot. Internet speed is the best in its class. Earlier I used to suffer with a micromax oldie. The rearest of its kind in the offer is boom band which can serve as an anti loss device and a pedometer as well. It can also analyse your sleep cycle when switched to the required mode. The only drawback I find in the deal is the non removable battery and not expandable 16gb int memory. However it still supports external pendrive. Still I donot realise why people fall prey to so called brands. My dear friend donot regret for ur deal. Pls run an app called cleanmaster to clear all junk files and cool down CPU and kindly upgrade ur firmware to kitkat, hope it would suffice ur draining problem

4.4.2 update broke the Smart suit application. Now cannot connect. Broke the USB OTG write access. now no longer write to usb otg drives. No Root tools available to root the Phone. Phone is siginficantly faster and RAM usage steady at 38%

Despite its popularity, I really would not recommend Any pure Made in China phones to any one. 1. Recently I read an article that Chinese made Pendrives has in built viruses in them which can not be erased. 2. Yet again same thing about Phones. I read in an article that Chinese made phones are sending very personal info of customers to their servers. I really can not estimate the purpose and impact of these things. Either way I do not want to take the risk. Idol x+ though a TCL phone, I am relying on Alcatel to have fixed if any such issues.

It does have LTE I tried using OTG it detected and was being mounted but then it would get disconnected. Maybe it was my OTG cable that was faulty.

I was looking for dual-SIM phone with decent sound. My first one was HTC One. Without doubt, it had powerful clear sound, but, wait-a-minute... where are mid freqs? Why the sound is so flat? There is no "meat" in it! And adding more bass with Beats was more like adding booming instead, which muffled the rest of frequencies. So I sold it and now I have Alcatel Idol X+... I can't say its sound is superb, but it's much better than in HTC One. It's pleasant, it's quite well-balanced, you won't get tired with listening. Screen is of good tone and brightness. The only complain is those glimmering dots, which you can see if light is shed on it and prevent you from seeing the information on the screen. But i doubt you gonna read or watch movie under sun :) And yes, it's true, that battery charge lasts longer than 1 day on average use. Actually it's about 1.5 full days (36 hours). I have a little complain about hearing someone on the line, but maybe it's depend on phone on other side, because when someone having iphone 5 calls me - i hear him perfectly :) I am now on kitkat beta and it runs quite smoothly, no any complains about it - crash or some other issues. Sometimes I got one of my SIM shown absent. But maybe it's because of adapter i have for it - it's nanoSIM actually. GPS is ok, 3G and WiFi work without issues at all. Well, back cover is not very good: it's glossy, feee! I'd prefer matte one, as on TCL.

Hi, How you are checking the RAM utilization? If you are using cleanMaster, there lies the issue. CleanMaster is not showing the ram utilization for more 1GB rams. You can check the actual RAM utilization by going to 'Manage Applications ->Running'.

1) I see my idol x+ memory utilization is always above 70%, and most of the time crosses 80%, which equates usage above 1.4 gb usage. Is there any way to check which process is utilizing the memory. I have disabled the less used once - like weather, google+, hangouts, chrome, google music, touchpad, news etc. 2) The one which are running are the same which were installed in my old Android phone which had just 1 gm of ram, and its utilization was also 70 %, which equates to 700 mb usage. 3) How to un-install pre-installed apps.

when you experience suddenly zooming while typing messages or even if your not touching the phone the screen moves, probably the touch screen is defective. i have experienced it in my alcatel idol. I went to their service center to report the problem and they replaced the screen, after that it works smoothly, luckily the phone is still under warranty so i did not spend a single penny

If you have a windows computer, just by a cable and connect! It should look just like the one for the charger, but have the connectors for data (like all cable in a store will have), while the charger cable has just the connectors for power. Decent phone for what you pay. Came with 4.2.1, updated to 4.2.2. Still, dated version. Phone has network issue. Which means, it does not catch sim network at times. Takes a long time to connect to network provider. Camera, not so great compared to other 13 MP shooters. OTG - Yes. Occasional slight lag. No sound adjustment in quick settings. LG G2 screen guard fits well. As there are no Alcatel Idol X+ one's available in market. Normal battery life, on heavy usage. Boom band battery amazing. Boom band sync not real time. Slight delay. JBL sound quality good.

Guys, I got the phone through FlipKart on 07/02. Looks and feels awesome. The Boom Band is a blessing, it has successfully tracked my fitness and sleep patterns. The screen and super sensitive and display is True HD. However, I am unable to play music through the default Music Player. I had to download Rocket Player app to play music on my phone. Any suggestions ? Much appreciated. BTW I used a matt finish screen guard (not really needed, but i have sweaty palms :)) and have ordered for a Galaxy S5 back cover. Wish there was a choice just like the other phones, in the market.

Downloaded 11 GB of data so far. Never got hang so far even in slower network conditions. The octacore processer can perform any number of actions simultaneously. RAM performance is fantastic. Display is much better than any other products in the market. Camera is good for the dont compare with samsung, sony or LG. Front cam is good with hd recording. since google drive app is available memory is not at all concern. Decent battery backup. Not yet received my update to kit kat. I dont have anything to say wrong about this product. Speaker performance is also good enough. Dont look at service support. I dont think this will require any service at all. Other than physical damages. Gorilla galss 2 is there, no screen guard required. White will the best option to hide your finger prints in the back cover. Phone is very shiny so can clean the dirt. got decent grip. metal side gives elegant look. All sensors works perfectly. Even 2160p videos can be played in this device. here is an important piece of info guys.during my use the phone slipped off my hand.let the gods bless me! no major damage... Gorilla glass did a good job.but any how got few dents on the sides.... so its very imp to use a back cover for this phone... so i tried various cover.Atlast the galaxy s5's back cover fitted perfectly.except for the volumerocker.but u can easily cut a window for that by ur self.... And its advisable to attach a screen guard too.....

hey Hari,the 32GB version is not available in India... but believe me 16gb is enough actually. I've installed nearly 20apps and having 53 apps in the internal memory(all heavy)+2movies and some 30 music files+photos. Still I've got 7.19GB(out of 12.3GB) left... if u want to watch more movies on YOUR phone then store 'em on a pen drive and watch them.. otg is supported :-) so 16gb is surely enough...except for watching more movies..

Hi There, I am using the same phone and got away with similar problem, it's nothing just your phone is in saving mode which turns off the display brightness adjust feature to a fixed level of 40 percent or any other which you may have selected in saving mode settings. If you want to manually adjust the brightness you have to switch off the saving mode or you can just change the brightness level to your desired in battery saving mode settings, hope this works :)

I bought this phone the day it launched in india, and No regrets, pretty fast and stable i have also used it's predecessor i.e Idol X 6040D and that was a horrible experience i had to get it replaced with in a week of its purchase because it had issues of auto restart and even the replaced one was faulty the same way Auto restart ! But this one is superfast stable no lags and NO RESTARTS feels good in hand excellent screen and camera. But I am not able to find Android test codes for this device default codes don't work on this one. Can anyone provide ?

I bought the phone a week ago, it is the european model. The SAR of the phone is 0,6-0,7 and not higher (according to its manual). For the camera try SnapIt (a Lenovo camera app). In low light there is noise indeed. The back of the phone is very easily scratched. There are some heating issues as mentioned before. Everything else works great in my phone and I think that it's a good choice for a dual sim phone for someone who wants low sar values. Otherwise go for Lenovo K910 which I used to have. Better camera than the S4, the G2 or the Idol X+ and has Snapdragon 800. The problem of K910 is the SAR of 1.41 which is really high.

Thank God I bought this and cancelled my earlier decision to go for an LG G2 Pro. I was put off by the price of that one so I was actually about to buy a Panasonic P81. This BTW will be the 5th android I've purchased for my family. After Moto Defy, 2 Xpeias, one Samsung Note-2 and finally this.. Alcatel's build quality and camera are very good. The battery lasts more than a day. Thank God I didn't blow up my money on things that would have cost me twice and worked just about as well. This is better than Note 2 and S4. Mediatek is nobody's poor cousin and I don't miss having a pricey Snapdragon!

You can open the back cover like any other phone. Its a little bit slower and harder. But there is no point of doing so, the battery is wired in as far as I can tell so its not an easy swap. IT IS NOT SEALED. You will break no stickers or glues while doing so.

So swapping battery is not possible. Well i m using it from last 3 days, my phone heats up while playing Asphalt 7 which came inbuilt(need to download 480mb), the battery temperature was 40 deg c. It even heats up while playing Little Big City(Ready to play game comes with phone). Video playback excellent. It can play most of the video format but for few formats like MKV video no sound u can hear.Radio sucks again. It works fine outside but inside any building u wont get signal but u can listen to radio in all other phones. Once more issue i found was, if u play games while u kept phone charging, u might think phone is charging but in this case it will consume battery and wont charge. I started playing game 20% battery n connected it to charger, when i closed the game i had only 4% battery. I m Still waiting for micro sim, i will update on network range once i get micro sim. I m still not explored phone completely. Lets wait n see what else issues i get.

It has delivered much more than what is expected at this price. There are people who had commented about heating issues, but one should realise thats a problem for all smartphones and depends totally on how you use your phone. Nothing extra to worry about Alcatel One Touch Idol X+. I can confidently say this, as I have used the phone over 5 hours non stop without much concern. Overall its worth a buy and specially comes from someone who is using the phone.

I got this on the second day. When i opened it had 52% battery. Connected to wifi and used for 4hrs battery drains completely. Then try to to charge it took more time to charge than they specified. Loud speaker not so great but ok. Battery heats up 4hrs wifi it was very hot. After charging played Asphalt 7 for 30 mins, phone got hot again. Cons: 1. Battery Heating (Heavy game and prolong wifi connectivity) 2. Load speaker not so good. 3. No screen guard and no flip cover 4. Flash light is bad very low intensity. 5. No place for tag. 6. Photos are normal 7. UI is not so good it takes time to understand. 8. oddly placed power button. 9. Screen goes black and no response for touch after few sec and u need to press power button to make it responsive.(pressing power button again n again feels very bad) 10. No extra memory card 11. Unknown customer service in india 12. Screen catches fingerprints but it can be wiped easily. 13. Non removable battery. No info related to battery is provided. Pros: 1. Sexy and slim 2. Looks good battery back up(4hrs wifi consumed 52% battery) 3. Camera is fast response 4. Ear phone is good but misses sound enhancements If u looking for good performance its better to pay little more like 22k+ and buy HTC one (new model), Xperia ZR or Samsung S3. But if ur budget is under 20k then this is the best. U may find problem with oddly placed power/unlock button but later u get used to it.

Hi everybody, I dont own this phone, i have an lg g2. But i have experience with mobiles(androids mostly) so please read with patience if you would like to. The specs say resolution of this device is 441 ppi, i wonder if a 2 ghz mediatek can handle that without heating up a lot. mine has snapdragon800,krait400 but it still heats a little. Supporting a 5inch 441ppi screen with a 2500 mah battery for a day might be possible. Someone also mentioned that this is a rejected processor beacause of heating problems and I think it is correct. Also 8 cores do not mean your phone will be 8 times faster, it just means you have the options available but they need resources as well like a good chipset. Moreover 8 cores are never required in what we do on our androids :P, 4 are more than enough. I really don't think that 13 mp at 17000(flipkart) is possible, atleast not a decent one. In the end all I would like to say is take a detailed checklist and fill it completely after verifying the facts about this or any phone before you buy it. The purpose of this post is to make you aware of what might get problematic or what you might be ignoring, and not to kill your interest in this phone. Thanks.

There is nothing much i can share after 1 month using it. Camera - didn't have red-eye reduction, burst capture, smile detection and etc. Alcatel didn't utilize much on camera. noise in picture when in low light. Battery - I tick the CPU power saving mode. Still ok, not much to comments for performance. i on the mobile data the whole day and still have 40-30% after office hour. Resolution - Ok, Great. Worth with the price tag. Didn't support multi-windows such as Grand 2 Dous. Screen capture still need to push power+vol down. I believe alcatel should utilize the gesture funtions for screen capture same as grand 2 dous which is can grab a screen capture by using hand. Voice/mic reduction really great. Manually to touch the screen when to pause the video. I will enjoy if i flip over the phone to pause the video. RAM - average RAM 800mb. 1.2Gb use for the apps and bloatware. GPS - Need a few minutes to lock the signal, sometimes signal are easily lost while in open place. Sound - Superb great. in additional plus with JBL earphone. Charging time - Acceptable which is 2 - 2.5 hours from 1%-100% Boomband - functioning well. Great. I hope that alcatel should consider this in next update. optimizing RAM performance and others as state above.

I have been using this phone for one week. Bought in Germany for 270 Euro and for such a price I would not have expected the performance and quality of build from this phone. The screen is superb, the software runs without any problems, fast, fluid no lagging. The sound from the dual speakers is excellent. Wifi reception is great and the dual sim option a plus. The battery is average although with clever adjustment it will take you through the day. I highly recommend this phone for its performance, appearance and build quality which is much better then its twin the TCL s960.

Bought my Idol X+ 3 days ago from Low Yat Plaza in KL, Malaysia. Usage interface is very fast, very good so far. Althought battery is 2500mah, my usage experience so far is acceptable - fully charged and started using from 11am and by after 15 hours at 2am, it is at 40%. I have read a review and apparently Alcatel's Idol X+'s Octa Core saves approximately 18% from normal dual and quat core devices. So far, my experience with this new Idol X+ is good and for RM1299, I can't ask for more. A Samsung or Sony device with such powerful specs would probably cost RM2k to RM3k. Only set back is no external memory but for a person like me who doesnt keep or snap alot of photos and videos, it is good enough for me.

Yep. I am hardly disappointed by Alcatel 's behaviour. Probably will not buy anymore from them. I am using Idol 6030x, and before Christmas the company said officially that they will release an update to 4.2 untill the end of January. It is April now, but there is no update. This is not the right way to treat your customers.

I used the X+ through work while my company was doing performance testing with a pre-production model, so my experience is hands on to a very in depth degree (I got to take it home and use it as my personal phone for two weeks). The build quality is really solid, and the screen responsiveness in the UI is butter smooth. Battery life is REALLY nice. I calculated 5 hours of Dead Trigger on a single charge. I've compared it to flagships like the Samsung Note 3 (both Qualcomm and Exynos chipsets), as well as the S4 (both chipsets again), and the HTC One. This thing blows them all out of the water. Good form factor, nice and light, and even thinner than the iPhone 5S. I'll be buying one of these on launch day guaranteed (provided AOT doesn't give me one for free like I'm hoping)

alcatel have just emailed me with reply, it seems the price isnt going to be dropped but the release date is now april According to our latest informations, the Idol X+ will be released sooner and will be available in our eshop at 350,00� in april. We do not know for the moment if preorders will be possible.

I had TCL(Alcatel brand name in China) Idol X+ from 3 days and I used to play with it a little more than normal usage. First day I charged it for 12 hours and after that all day downloads.. play music.. games.. and searching for interesting options and at night it was on 15%. So my old Galaxy S3 never did that baterry life. And the display us amazing.. I'm very happy with my new phone. Much better than S3!

I've owned the Alcatel Idol X. It is a true beauty and i have no complains for a phone of that price range (Half price of the Note 3 mind you) The only down side was the battery and GPU. But now they have totally revamped it and I'm so excited to get my hands on this! I get tons of compliments from my friends asking what phone is it as the sharp 5" display is gorgeous and real attractive. This is definately a phone worth considering for that kind of price. This beats the CPU of S4! idol x+ CPU has OCTA 2ghz a7, that is about 16ghz total s4 has 1.6GHZ quad A15 & 1.2GHZ quad A7, which has a total of only 11.2 ghz How CPU works Example: if first core has reached maximum tasks which is 2hrz for the octa core, the second core will start working. Which means the power will not only base on the GHZ per core but on the TOTAL amount of power. The total ghz of the octacore for idol x+ is 16GHZ while s4 has the total of 11.2GHZ only.

According to MediaTek's SoC specifications GPU is not PowerVR SGX544. It is MALI450 MP4, a very tiny mini nano littlebit enhanced version of MALI400. There is %4-6 of performance increasements... True 8 of Cortex-A7 core means not big deal, QuadCore A9 faster than A7, even 8 better than octa variant. But, its fit very well the price variants of 200 euros.

Mid-level Specs? Are you nuts? This specific version of the chipset can pull out 31000 points on AnTuTu. Most Snapdragon 800 devices pull only 28000. There are devices that go as far as 36 but only a few. That chipset is a very good one. Low heat, low pover consumption, great clock and GPU performance all those mean something.
