alcatel OT Easy - User Reviews

  • I liek dis fone cos it luks like bumblebee

  • It used rechargeable batteries, but you could easy replace them with normal AAA if you were out of power

  • Yes, the first battery pack were simply 3 rechargable AA batteries combined together, but when they were worn out you had to put 3 AA batteries in the phone. Mine is still working, when I need it to work I simply insert 3 AA batteries. However the batteries will be empty very quickly and need to be removed to charge (if they are rechargable).

  • Seriously? A phone that uses AA batteries and not rechargable batteries like in every single other phone ever?

  • Nearly bombproof. We played baseball with it, ran it over in my mates mums Volvo, drowned it overnight. This phone only died from old age after 6 years and two more ham-fisted owners.

  • i want to buy alcatel ot easy

  • i want to buy alcatel ot easy

  • I need a OT Easy phone. How do I get?

  • please help me. I need the batteries alcatel ot easy 98

  • I had this phone back in the day, my dad drove over it with his car and it still survived with minor scratches, the car on the other hand... JK

  • My first phone, on late 1998. A real brick, able to cope with multiple falls. And you could use it with two AA 1.5 V batteries if needed. Some awful usage details though: - a short press on the red button would cancel the message, to delete the last character you needed a long press; - both contact names and messages could be written in CAPS only; - no internal memory for contacts, so the contact names were limited to the SIM capacity: 80 entries and only 11 ou 16 characters! Nevertheless, it was problably the most sucessful product ever made by Alcatel.

  • oldddddd

  • My first phone too. I like this brick because I could throw it in my friends without remorse. Works every time after that.

  • i liked it soo much , its my first mobile

  • this was my first phone super mob was bulky but still reception and battery was the best part of it , i have got one as a memory

  • Oh my God, my first phone! Thought it was older than 1998. And the weight listed must be without the batteries. It was such a brick!

  • Did you replace the tiny fuse as well, or replace the fuse by a wire? The fuse is in series with the batteries. And there is a diode to be connected too, I remember. It is a long time since I replaced rechargeable NiCad batteries in this phone... we still use it when traveling and keep it as an extra, it is fun to see young people stare at it! I presume this phone has been designed for NiCad batteries; in case you have used LI-Ion or such, there is a chance that the charger will not accept that. I don't have experience with these batteries.

  • i am changed old battery with rechargeable aaa batteries but telephones charger can't charge. how can i charge rechargeable aaa batteries with original charger.

  • My firrrrrst phone !! It was 1998. It was in grey colour. I loved it !!

  • wow .. My first phone , very glad to see again . i got red colour , very easy to charge

  • You didnt come from Tamborine, did you?

  • This was my first mobile phone! Bought it in 1998 when I was still in high school! Great memories lol!

  • My beloved! it was my first mobile phone years ago... it is such a funny nostalgia (-:

  • I got one of these too, works fine!! But the standby time totally sucks! I got 3 AA batteries because the 'standard' battery was just not working good enough anymore. But when I make 2 phonecalls, 5 minutes in total the batteries are already being low:(

  • I have one of these phones and it still powers up, was wondering if it would still work? Would be good when away camping

  • One of the best phones made by Alcatel, wouldnt mind of buying one again, why dont cellphone makers think of making some of these classic phones again maybe with a bit of new technologies like bluetooth camera and etc...

  • Is this a Multimeter or what??

  • iam not see same this phone in my country

  • awsome

  • I had this phone. It was my second phone. It had recharge battery and u could use the AAA batteries aswell.

  • Works with AAA batteries... Works with AAA batteries!?!? Wow, it is the worst phone I ever seen in my life. If I had this one, I think I would use a lot of bateries... And my money?

  • £1000? I sell mine for £23 with the rechargable batteries from Asda!

  • i have this phone if any one wanna to buy it the price is 1000 POUNDS

  • It does'nt work out of water!

  • i want to buy this phone il even buy for £1000 does any one have this phone

  • Oh I miss this phone! I was 16 when it was bought for me...I am 28 now! LOL

  • does this phone works under water?

  • one of the best phone. if you have very low bat. all you need to do is buy a 3A bat. hehehe

  • Do you know if these phones are still on sale. i was hoping to get my Grandaughter one for Christmas 09. i know she likes yellow so what a perfect gift ! . and after reading the feedback that people have left Im pretty confident this phone will keep her safe from those bloody Scoundrels. Also she to is getting ready for BandCamp so Thankyou for the good tips about the behaviour in the shower rooms ! im sure she will be grateful when she doesnt get her face full of Man Hair !

  • i think this phone is better use as a bludgeoning tool rather than making calls and texts because i too have had the same problem. this one time at band camp, this guy tried to rape me but i bashed him with my phone repeatedlyuntil he let me go and i managed to get away and tell the camp supervisors but any way long story short even tho my phone was covered in blood after a quick clean it worked better actually so yeah i agree with nikki we love you alcatel !!!

  • I love this handset. I am currently using this its great all i need is a pack of batteries and im ready to rock and roll. Ive had the same problem with mindless theieves trying to steal my brand new phone. and yes i to have found it an amazing weapon and the police never suspect a mobile phone as a murder weapon ! Always thinking !! Alcatel OT Easy WE LOVE YOU !

  • ha ha ha east side is dee best

  • this cellphone save my life alot of time, someone try it to steal it from me and i hit him in the head with this cellphone, the guy star bleeding righ way, and guest what??? the cellphone was perfectly working with no crash or something, this is the best of the best.

  • Yeah, my first phone too. I think you can use any AA battery.

  • How can I get the battery of my old Alcatel One Touch Easy? I live in Cairo/Egypt and I didnt find the battery here. I like this model so much and I dont want to change it.

  • My very first phone!

  • OMFG whip crack with my billabong and the beast was done will this run longer on a car battery

  • We can laugh at this phone, but i droped it 1 milion times and it still works.

  • ~lol~ powered by AA Batteries.. XD

  • yeeyy its awsome

  • I bought this phone back in December 1998, I was very proud of it, because back then, none in the 9th grade had a phone, and the best about it: It was yellow! And it worked on Energizer-batteries so I could use it for about two weeks without change the batteries. It was just great, this phone.

  • Very cool fone... i mean design is better then N95, U900 Soul, W910... MP3 works very good with 8.1 surround system. Bluetooth is awesome versioned 3.1!!! and its 8 mega pixel camera is superb. Touch sensitive buttons are very easy to use and it 16 Million color display will make you forget the best displays from samsung and nokia... Symbian operatin system, with geo tagging and GPS... oh my GOD,,, world's fastest receiver

  • my first gsm phone ever... 1998. everyone is calling.... but i was one of the few texting already

  • Why are the batteries in the same why ?? ++ and -- this wont even work tisk tisk tisk

  • Needs some energiser in this baby not durecel

  • One Touch Easy... My very first mobile phone that supports SMS. I got it way back January 1999. I had the blue one. When everyone was gaga over Nokia 5110, I took the road less travelled. So, I settled for OT Easy. No games, though, like Snake for 5110, but this got me so much memories, like texting my crush in college. This phone is very durable and reliable. Not that user friendly, though. A two-liner screen... that changed my life forever.

  • hei.. this is my memorial phone i ever had. My father bought for me this my first cellular phone in 1998. I cannot talk much about it except this phone is awful. When the batteries out, i can replace it with AAA zinc carbon batteries for normal use (that i never find this anymore in newer phone). Unique ring tone that make me different in campus. :D the case strong enough for normal drop, and the last.. It's finished after a rubber bullet shot directly to it when demonstration in Jakarta at middle of 99. Maybe same with someone below me... It safe my live.... !!! I love this phone.. then Siemens S4 Power (the super good and really "bar" phone) took his place after it.

  • This phone is the best phone ever! It saved my life many times with it's inginuity, reliablilty, Great design And It Can STOP bullets!!! no lie!!!

  • Why is there no purple version? The yellow one is for my yellow lambo. i also have a purple lambo. where is the purple version. I even asked the purple tellytubby, and he said, no purple version. DAMN U ALL!

  • this fone is so nice, why did they discontinue it i really really want one. the best fone i have ever seen and i love the duracel batteries

  • My very first phone back in 1998, this yellow number. Cute beep when you get a text message and the blinking LED. Battery life's very dependable and the desktop charger is cool (though not very portable). Overall this phone was a prime in its time and is a protoype of future useful phone functions.

  • my first telephone in hmm?? maybe in 1996 or 1997 :)

  • this phone is surprisingly good in bed... #### battery life, so is a bit of a quick finisher, better than my k800i! x ps.tesco value batteries rule! x

  • It's an iPhone killer!!!!!!!1

  • this phone is the best alcatel are great the best thing about this phone is that it has regular batteries !!! P.S it sucks

  • the buttons are very cool. best phone ever.

  • dunno what the guy about the camera and such is on about its a 2 line monocrome mobile... i mean look it even takes duracell batterys :O

  • What are you saying it dosnt even have a camera and you think its 3G its so old you cant even buy it any more so how can it have a camera with 3.5 mp or how can it have 3G

  • Its really good phone..... The FM is one of the nicest FMs.....good display of 262 K colors...And the camera quality is superb...3.5MP camera..... The mp3 player is awesome and the dont ask about the battery time... It stands for 5 days.... I think its really a good 3G phone.....With a support of Edge and it has dual speaker.....Its weight is very less i.e. only 45 gms.....Oh my Lord... This phone is out of the world..... The Bluetooth and IR works properly with other mobile phones:)

  • my first phone

  • my friend used to have this phone. it was great i was so jealous. its like a breeze block now thou. there is no backspace button you have to start th whole msg again. how mobiles have advanced!!!

  • My 1st phone ever. Bought it in 1999. I had it for one year and I throw it away few years ago. Now I wish I didn't... :)

  • My very 1st GSM phone! It was extremely hard to use but I got used to it. 1st love definitely never dies. The toughest phone I ever had. I had it retired since it simply refused to die. The best phone ever for me as far as toughness is concerned, far better than any Nokia phones I ever had.

  • I bought this phone when it was new, and despite a hard life, it still works on alkalines (the rechargable battery died). Its completely out of date now of course. I replaced it years ago, but I see it as a piece of retro chic when all other phones were black or grey.

  • Look at this color man...are u nutz buying that crap? :)

  • alcatel is my life without this phone your life is tasteless . and i need the code term of this phone.

  • I own one of this alcatel one touch easy years ago but with the newer cellphone models, I have've pushed it to the back of my cabinet. I was hoping to give it to my niece as her first cellphone to tinker with and I just unearthed it. The problem is I can't find the manual and I've forgotten how to use it. Can you help me?

  • My opinion is it is driving me crazy!!....Where is the backspace when you have txt the wrong letter :)

  • i like alcatel phones

  • Dear sir, I have a instrument Alcatel once-touch easy which is now have a battery changed with a lower volt. I tried to rechanrge tyhe same but the same is not rechargeing. May i request you to let me know if the instrument is to be given to any of your local service shops in New Delhi where I can get the same revitalised and also if I can obtain a spare battery with a recharger. Thanks Regards, NRLN/11.03.03

  • My dad has this phone and he thinks it's cool. It works now for 3 years. That's cool!:)

  • ringtones for one touch 512

  • My Alcatel One Touch Easy is displaying "Term Code?" I will like to know I can rectify this because I can't seem to go any further.

  • It's a very good phone. My first mobile phone and I'm not prepaired to give it up. The feature with the replacement of the battery with 3 AAA batteries saved me more times... I don't need to carry a charger with me all the time. And the stand-by time is more than satisfacting.

  • how do I remove phone handset icon which is facing down. Sorry to bother you but I lost my manual.

  • its too big and hard

  • great reception cheap small good battery life.pity no on line ringtones you can dial

  • hi. i really love this phone and got one for my birthday 2 years ago. i found out recently that i was given one with out the flip cover. you see my phone was having trouble connecting to vodaphone and i had to send it in to be fixed, and when it came back they didn't give me the cover back. i was wondering if you knew where i could possible purchase one. please write back to me at the above address. kind regards.
