Hey there,I've been fan since 8 yrs of MS,[MS 950XL],Been using it since many yrs,Yea it was really pretty good screen,Touch is amazing,Best screen & brightness ever.Outstanding camera view,Sufficient space,but it HANGS!!Dulliest & hardest part is no updation of Apps.Moreover,apps are vanishing from Windows store(I'm shocked) Including games.It hangs always....Trying to open windows store since 1 month,But i Couldn't....Guess time to change this.No ones ready to buy this either

Have to charge my battery at least 3 times a day (on my 4th battery), phone shuts off randomly or restarts. Phone hangs, fast?? Really?? Must be a true Windows fan. I e had mine for 2yrs + and can't wait until I change it when I decide on what to buy. Great potential but MS shit on us fans.

The saddest part of the phone market is that no one has still beaten the image quality of the 950XL's camera. The only reason I stopped using this as my main phone is because of APPS. I need to be able to use most of the major APPS for me to keep using it. I need Facebook's APP but the Windows version just does not support voice calling and video calling. Development for APPS has ceased on the Microsoft platform. This is a cell phone that came out in 2015 and it's now 2018 and I have yet to see a better camera on a phone than this. Microsoft is truly innovated in their UI design. I hope to see maybe a future Surface Phone which will return the power of a Windows PC OS in the palm of your hands. This phone has better touch sensing than my HTC10 and everything is much more faster and fluid. The AMOLED screen is still an excellent choice for visibility in sunlight over LCD. My HTC10's LCD sucked in sunlight so bad that it made me miss my 950XL's screen. It's sad that the only thing this phone OS lacked was access to the most popular APPS. Had this not been the case the 950XL would still be my main phone. I still keep this phone as my backup phone as of now my HTC10 is dead.

No, both SIM support 2G-3G-4G. But of course not simultaneously. You have to choose which SIM shall be used for mobile data. Switch between the SIM takes about 3 seconds. I use the feature to take use of two different operators every day. (Salt and Swisscom in Switzerland). Seems to be quite rare, such a feature.

Using this phone from a long time. Never have seen any heating or battery drain issue. Its smooth fast and snappy and battery last full day very easily. Getting small Firmware updates every month Jan 2018 and Feb too. I am completely satisfied and love this mobile. It has camera like no other phones till date.

Windows Phone are run very smoothly compared to android phones even with just 1Gb of rams. Camera is excellent. Display is very good. No hang at least in my own experience. Built in apps like office and maps and health is very useful. No problem with games and social apps. Just lack of some applications can make some problems. After all very beautiful and stylish phones. Hope to see at least one new phone from Microsoft in 2018.

I am using this everday as my second phone. GOOD: (i) camera quality is excellent that i am very happy with the image quality, i think no other phone can compete, (ii) plastic design is suit in the pocket. BAD: (i) heating problem making battery draining very fast, if you like browsing internet may be only half day batery backup, (ii) facebook messager call in both sound and video does not work, (iii) glass sreen and cover protection difficult to find or event can not find it. CONCLUSSION: if like taking photo you should chose it. Overall advise- you better chose Nokia 8

I use 950xl dualsim almost 2 years, but in one half year have a problem, phone is over heat and always restat, is because update failed,make the battery damage and no one sell in my country, now i modification, use asus battery, little size, 3000mah, use the original circuit battery ( top of battery) for replace asus circuit battery, carefull do this procedur,you dont wont burn your finger :), this must have experient, now is back to normal again for half years. my experient update failed is left your battery last 20% DONT CHARGE and IGNORE BATTERY WARNING, go to setting update, touch update now, look if indicator bar update move STIIL DONT CHARGE wait until your batre +/- 15%, now you charge your phone,i successfully update now. Always shutdown your phone at last one a day, this phone is mini computer, mustbe shutdown ;).....

And what makes 950 XL is a flagship and Idol 4S Windows a cheap device. Idol 4S Windows has better processor, higher RAM, higher storage, better design, better speakers, doesn't overheat, does multitasking better than 950 XL, Continuum works better on it. The only segment where 950 XL wins is camera and screen resolution, rest of the things are way better on Idol 4S Windows. Just because Idols 4S Windows is cheaper doesn't mean that it isn't a flagship, not only it's a flagship but also it's a better device than 950 XL.

Switched from an Android 6 device to the 950XL. Couldn't be more happy. Everything works better, there are more smart features, dedicated camera button, best camera (even better than S8 and S8+ camera), all in all, a solid phonewith a minimalistic design. Would not want to go back to Android.

It's been more than 6 monthes since I purchased this phone, and I am very pleased with this, very fancy looking, yet easy to use. I am glad I purchased this on last Christmas sale since it is hard to find this phone any more. Althugh I don't expect much functionarities on any phone, (phone is phone) it is handy to have it during vacation, it has nice camera with shutter button, message to friend with picture, good GPS and maps for just in case when I get lost or to find target spot, occational E-mail and star map, calendar schedule, and FM radio to listen local station when I got bored. I brought it to Japan for vacation, worked very well. (Believe it or not, the bands/frequency used in North America is different, rathr odd, considering rest of world standard, so make sure phone has band 1 for Europe and Asia) The phone got a lot of attention in Japan the country where almost everybody uses iPhone, which i think too expensive for what it does even considering it has a lot of application. "What is that? Never seen it. Wow, wireless charging? etc. Now I wonder why some people has heating issue... but I noticed it marginally heated up while I was transfering SD card image from digital camera to SD Card on the phone through USB-C port. Probably it is not good idea to store application on SD Card. (I only store picture and some dicument nto sd Card) hope this will help to those has issue.

However you can use Awesome Tube, it has all the features of official YouTube app and it has certain extra features like it lets you download even copyright protected music videos, it lets you download videos to your phone storage or SD card and it works with Continuum too.

The processor is a major weak point of this device, Snapdragon 810 is infamous for overheating issues. Few users in Gsmarena suggested the new Alcatel Idol 4S Windows over this phone. After facing myriad heating issues on my 950 XL I just gave up switched to Alcatel Idol 4S Windows. Needless to say from my experience so far the new Alcatel Idol 4S Windows is a way better Windows 10 Mobile device than 950 XL and of course it looks and feel better too.

At first i buy and use it..everything was great..then after i use it about a few week later.it start to show a sign getting very hot and the battery is drain much faster than it estimated..then i just try to soft reset it and try to download a new update version for window 10.but it was fail and my download just stuck at 0 %.i just getting really dispointed about the devices.now after 6 month using it,the devices just turn on about not more the 30 minutes after a full charge and automatically shut down after getting damn hot..try to restart it,it just crash again and again.it just show only a green colour as a background.hope Microsoft just take back all the product from buyers/owners and return it back with new build devices and with no more issue of failure.

Connect your PC to WiFi, then connect your phone to your PC via USB. Your PC will automatically download the required drivers, mount your phone as external storage and sync your data with Groove Music, Pictures etc. Do note that this method is tested with Windows 8.1 and 10. I'm not sure whether it would work on older systems or not.

The latest Microsft Remote Desktop app works in Continuum. But I would strongly advise you to go for HP Elite x3 or Alcatel Idol 4S Windows 10 Edition instead of this phone.

This phone is good but the processor Snapdragon 810 has overheating issues. As of now it is better to go for the new Alcatel Idol 4S Windows 10 Edition. About YouTube, just use Awesome Tube, it has all the features of the official YouTube client and it unlike the official YouTube app it lets you download all videos to your phone or sd-card. Its UI is better than official YouTube app. For Snapchat I use Specter, but it is no more available in store. For Reddit just ude Readit, it has all the features of official Reddit app and has a better UI. For Pinterest use Piny, it has all the features of official Pinterest app but its UI is way better than the official app.

Ive been on ms os from Htc 8x, now on 535 ds cause of private and business sims. Im asking 950xl users can i count on continuum? I dont have huge demands from smartphone beside office apps and especially rdp client. If i could use rdp client over continuum dont need notebook anymore to carry all over with me. Btw had a litlle struglling with win10 on 535 but now its ok. But i dont have huge demand for phone beside writing, sending, calling and battery.

Switched to the new Snapdragon 820 powered Alcatel Idol 4S Windows 10 Edition from 950 XL. From the very first day I noticed immediate performance improvements over 950 XL. Multitasking is better, no overheating, apps don't crash like they do on 950 XL, of course its camera isn't as good as 950 XL but it isn't bad either. 950 XL was a good phone but the major problem of this phone was its processor, almost all Snapdragon 810 phones suffer heating, throttling, app-crashing and RAM management issues. Same was true for 950 XL, although I've observed that due to the dedicated cooling system 950 XL tends to heat up lesser than other Snapdragon 810 phones (OnePlus 2, Xperia Z5 ahem ahem!!) but the 810 severely restricts the capability of this device.

Nope, MSFT abandoned Windows Bridges aka Project Astoria form their builds due to Googles shenanigans... In certain preview builds you had Android subsytem that allowed that but was disbanded later... Sad since you were able to run Android apps on WP... Feature was there for devs to easily port their apps to Win platform mostly but didn't turned so well for apps that are using Google services which is proprietary to Google and they don't like to share. Same reason why you don't have native YouTube app on Win Phone...

I've got a 950xl and love it. Far and away the best "photographers" camera on any smart phone I've seen. Particularly with the ability to manually control exposure and shoot raw. Most reviews don't pick that up. They complain about the cheap feeling back... completely ignoring the advanced and clever tech inside the phone. This is my 4th Windows phone and I love it. Windows 10 is also the best of the integrated platforms too... with the phone, PC, XBox One coupled with the universal app platform. Apple doesn't have that and neither does Google. with W10M, the windows update is "forced", means MS forces you to install updates. If you dont complete the update it runs background and consumes your whole battery and heats up your device. The only way is to complete the update or remove the battery till you update.

The 950 XL is an ok phone, it gets hot at times, and the screen picks up fingerprints easily so get a good screen protector with an oleophobic coating. The connectivity is good, as I used it I saw no differences between the 950 XL, and my Nexus 6p. The camera takes great pictures and doesnt leave me wanting a better camera. With the addition of panorama to the photo app, it's just about feature complete. I love the edge browser, with the exception of certain embedded videos that would not play, I'm sure it's a standards thing which may be updated in the future. I have the dual sim variant which leaves a second sim icon at the top showing that the sim is not inserted, which looks bad but I may just buy a sim with no service, which will make it go away. The phone wont have as many case options obviously, but MOZO makes some really good high end cases so thats one really good thing about the Lumia.

I have had several Lumias, the 800, 820, 920 and now the 950 XL dual sim. It is the best and the worst phone I have ever owned. It gets so hot it is uncomfortable to hold, and that is just browsing or using sat nav. The battery does not last a full day, and I only make maybe 3 minutes of phone calls, send 20 texts, 20 minutes of sat nav and maybe 5 minutes of browsing. This is the only phone I have had that has died on me during the above usage. In addition, the dual sim does not work. If I turn off sim 1 then sim 2 will work, but not both at the same time. Useless. I have a £50 Doogee phone that will let me run sat nav for 2 hours, plus both dual sims work with whatever network, and if I don't use much sat nav as is normal, it will last 2 days. There is absolutely no excuse for a £500 phone to behave so poorly. I love the screen, I love the Windows OS, but there does not appear to be a good phone to go with it from anyone. Do I really have to switch to Android? And a £50 phone to get what I need?

I received yesterday may Lumia 950 XL with continum pack. I was very enthusiastic for the new device but rapidly it became frustation. Just after 10 minutes charging the mobile was absolutelly hot, not only the rear plastic box, but also the screen. Later I made a second trial, and it happened again. I let it cool down and started exploring the phone, and with this simple used it got hot again. I´m now sending it back for analisys. Any of you have an opinion about this? i dont think so..... if youre looking for a system update you wont find it in the store rather you go to your phone settings look for update and security click update my phone and download Ps. the latest build is 10.0.10586.420 . so if you dont see this build at first download d first build and go and check for this one again. then the store not updating your apps try restarting your phone checking your storage is sufficient and your network connection is good

Got my lumia 950 xl dual sim version yesterday, it is very good, better than any phone I've used. First thing I did was reset the phone then entered my microsoft ID within wifi on. Updated all my apps, I was good to go, no lag, no shut down, no over heating, excellent battery life. All apps working perfectly. The OS is very fast and smooth, it like cutting butter with a hot knife. The keyboard has directional arrows for easy navigation and can still be manually adjusted with your finger, keyboard can be customized or adjusted, keyboard can be moved around, swipe keyboard still the best, drop down menu with more shortcuts, iris scanner works excellently at all times even in total darkness (but you most saved your iris in total darkness). I simply love my lumia 950 xl.

Tried the Lumia 950 XL, the phone is good and looks even better with a Mozo cover but my views about Windows 10 are somewhat mixed. I really liked that with Windows 10 number of available apps have improved significantly however there were few things that looked quite odd to me. First is the drop down settings which feels and looks bit too much like the Android drop down settings. The file manager looks as if it has been copied from BlackBerry 10. The search bar above menu, of course it is useful but again it looks oddly similar to the search bar on Android menu. Then there is this new feature to reply messages without opening them by reply option on message notification, copied straight from BlackBerry 10. My point is that Windows Phone aren't a bad, truth be told I like them more than Android and BlackBerry 10 but unlike Windows Phone 8.1 which was unique and felt like one of its kind Windows 10 lacks originality. It feels as if someone took features from Android and BlackBerry 10 devices and combined them with the Windows Phone OS and then launched it in the market as a new OS.

You're kidding right, I'm using 640 XL Dual and I can set different ringtone for sms, calls, different contacts, different apps like fb, whatsapp etc. On the other hand, I tried to my husband's phone, Galaxy S5 Neo with android lollipop, it can't be done, it only applies one ringtone for all calls, one ringtone for sms and one ringtone for all apps. WP might not have the most complete apps yet like snapchat or path and some still beta. But there are things that android phones can't do as wp. Hope microsoft keeps improving and I m still of course waiting for windows 10 upgrade. hope it's soon

"dual sim" is misleading. They should've put a disclaimer that only 1 sim will have 4g while the second sim is max 2g. Unfortunately for me, Canada is pretty much done away with 2g so none of the major providers support 2g and hence I am unable to utilize the dual sim feature.

Previous Iphone and Nexus owner - Moved to 650 XL Dual Sim! I am reading a lot of bad reviews here on the 950 xl dual sim. Well, I have one and it's great for what its meant for. Its not for everyone. If you want a dual sim phone and productivity is key, this is a great phone. I've had the Iphone 6 and nexus phones, and yes their ios/android platforms are clean and great to have for everyday use (to a degree). But, If you have used "continuum" to use your phone as a computer on a external display, there is nothing out there that is the same. This is nothing like an iphone or android mirroring a screen. It is your phone pushing windows 10 to your monitor for full support. I was just on my 75" 4k last night looking/ editing a excel spreadsheet while syncing with my work email client. To sum it up: This is a great business+personal phone HANDS DOWN. Yeah before the 107 update, the phone was sluggish/buggy. But after the 107, the phone has been without issue so far, with 2 day battery. Do your research on what you need out of a phone. As I said before, this phone is meant for business with productivity as a key component (Outlook, Office, Continuum, Remote Server Sync, etc) . It is not meant for the average joe consumer.

Hi there, I've used and loved the Lumia phones for sometime, but very disappointed with the new 950. The emailing ability is extremely poor for a business user. Your unable to forward emails to your groups. You can go to groups first, but that's hopeless if you want to forward the email. It also has moments where it cant find all the email addresses, in the auto fill area to send an email. Very frustrating, but these are the things you cant see when choosing a new phone. For business use, this is an amazing device that will serve you very well. If you are focusing on media then you are not going to be satisfied. In my case, Lumia 950 XL + dock + (VDI) Virtual Desktop Infrastructure are the best combination for me as a mobile user. If I exclude other platforms, Windows 10 is worth to try.

I am going to tell you a true opinion regarding Windows phone. And I know that only android user can understand my pain. So I am starting with app. There are shortage of apps in Windows store. You can't find useful app as in Play store (Android store). Always email update is required. WhatsApp is not like real WhatsApp as in android. Its appearance is so odd. Android user can see the differences of WhatsApp. If you want to do new in this phone it means you have to learn a lot and practice much. This phone is not user friendly as like android phones. You can't keep backup of apps as in android it's very common feature. Hindi input keyboard is complicated. Appearance of many apps is not good such as emails if you add more than two gmails you can't identify the address of email. You have to remember like email 1, email 2,email 3. There are a lot of cons of this phone. I really suggest you don't buy windows phone ever. Only some features like offline map, compass is good. Its lock screen, tiles and call screen are good. Camera is quite good. If anybody is saying that Windows phone is good, it means he or she doesn't use Android phone. That's why he or she doesn't know the real drawbacks of Windows phone. My best wishes is with you. Think it properly and then buy smartphone.

The gaming benchmark test i mentioned was done by switching and playing two hd games simultaneously.. S6 started lagged and stucked wen switching from one to another.. Zenfone 2 able to play the games simultaneously without any lag.. There is a video of this in youtube.. Go n watch... Fanboy.. Also if u compare s6 with 950xl.. No issues at all... Ben able to get the best shots every time... Continuum is another extremely handy feature...3430 mah battery is like wow!!! Yes... I have a Lumia 640 XL Dual Sim and I'm assuming the 950 XL will allow the same operation. That is, it offers you the choice as to which SIM card you would like as your priority (Sim 1) and what will be your 'reserve' (Sim 2). In the 640 XL you can choose which card is used for data (while still being able to use wifi whenever it's available), so, for example, because I work in Hungary I have my Hungarian Simcard set for data, calls and SMS, while my UK Virgin SIM is still set for phone calls and texts. In your address book it stores the contacts from each Sim, which you can link if you choose, and it even provides a little toggle switch next to the contacts number stating SIM 1 or sim 2, so you can choose which card to use, which is great. When I go back to England I change the UK Virgin card to use data and the Hungarian Telenor card I swap into Sim 2. It basically saves on all roaming data costs, unless you end up going somewhere other than where the two Simcards cover. But I do that too as I often go to Australia, so I just use an Australian Simcard there and the only hard part about it is that you have to take the cover and battery off and replace one of the other Simcards (no big deal)! So I really need a TRI Sim phone, but I don't see that happening too soon. Basically, it's fantastic if you do go abroad alot, or even if you just wanna make a quick call from the other Simcard - especially if you use Whatsapp which may store your second Simcard numbers as contacts. So when you're on wifi the second SIM just kicks in for Whatsapp! Great stuff! Hope that helped!

The 4g bands in 1520 dont have the 4g bands offered in India by Airtel which is LTT 40 (2300) and Lte 3(1800). I have the Airtel 4g SIM card but doesn't give me 4g in 1520. 4g works in myk3 Note. Similarly the 4g doesn't work in my wife's iPhone 6, an imported model which is different from the Indian model which is compatible with the 4g bands of Airtel.

I'm not really sure how I can get to W10 now, but I hope microsoft projects- support for google apps,streaming,... will be soon. With corrupted Siri apple is out of question, and great Tizen from samsung not even started(btw no assistent there), of course there are nexus phones bendable and without surprises. Microsoft comes with sdslot,dualsim,removable+big battery,....and in 2 sizes. Camera is for them in the first place(unmatched audio recording,shot resolution,manual settings,..), then comes Cortana, sync with desktop, clever use of amoled, sensors in phone/band. Things I miss are more camera setting like hires panoramas,spherical,...and pen support of course. I expect more surprises coming in january, but this phone is for me worth more than note5/Z5P/... it just got all whats important.

I have been using Nokia 1520 for two years as a business phone and I absolutely recommend windows phone and lumia phones for business. I do have also android tablet (Sony Xperia Z4) and phone (note 2). Android is good for play and entertainment but for real business: only windows and Lumia!!!!

Just remember 1520 launch dec2013 it was a wanted on premium. But in March I bought it for 440$ with warranty boxed black.. There is hardly difference of specs processor 805 to 810 with a bet of hearing bad name. Screen is larger and nothing except back black spot same. I wud see it mid nxt year.

Its gonna be a smart fone killer... Completely professional ...specially if you use this fone with Microsoft display dock. Specs ,build quality and software and hardware looks quite impressive and promising. Microsoft introduced a new technology for 950xl and that is liquid cooling system. Waiting desperately to watch unboxing and detailed review about this beast.....hopefully this will be help me in making decision whether to buy or not.

Hi! Does it have dedicated YouTube app? I had once lumia 920(win8) and lumia 640xl(win 8.1) but both lags dedicated YouTube app like we see in ios and Android fones. All the time I had to use browser for youtube, I tried plenty of YouTube apps from win store but even dat was also using browser to open utube app.

Love my Windows Lumina 925. Great phone. Never let's you down. More apps than I will ever need. Daughter's iPhone 6 not as good. Has similar issues that I had with Samsung Galaxy--freezing.

In lumia 1020 You have xenon lamp and led as well. That means when You recording movies Ypu can also use flash light. Lumia 950 will be excelent when they will input that solution in this phone. To shame.. ;/

Sim 1 is 4G supported but seems Sim 2 only goes to 3G. I wish they would make it so that both sims are 4G supported. Lumia 640xl LTE Dual Sim right now is the only Microsoft phone that can have Sim 1 and Sim 2 4G supported.

Dont want to bag Microsoft over the placement of the speaker but the 920 speaker placement was fantastic and 2 sets of grills for stereo HOWEVER if this is the extent of the compromise in getting this fantastic fully featured phone I most certainly wont complain! Thank you Microsoft for this class leading phone and great OS ecosystem. Android and Apple are hidebound with nowhere to go whereas MS are giving a complete mobile computer with full cross platform to desktop.....sucks to be behind the times with lagroid and fruitjuice.
