i have this phone for a year now, and its all working perfectly fine the same condition as i both it the first time. The only thing i hate the most about this phone is that, its loudspeaker isn't that loud,.. too bad compare to nokia's xpressmusic phones. It's headset is precious!! you cannot find any other pair of its headphone aside from its original headset. Mine got broke, so now, i don't have any headphones anymore :(, plus you cannot download themes, and its quite running slow, but it can still catch u up. The best thing is that, i can use this phone as webcamera through my laptop, i can download/upload files from this phone through my computer so easy through the USB cable. Its camera is quite bad for its picture quality but good for 1.3 Megapixels of today. The phone is so thin and fashionable, thats why i bought this phone. The keypads are awesome, very nice and attractive. I use screen protector so that keypads and screen displays will not be scratched too much. I can play a complete movie via .mp4 format, but you have to convert it to 128/128 display. The battery is perfect. It can last at least 2days with normal use (text/call) average of 80txts/3 (5mins) call a day. Its very light and strong. I dropped this phone for about 7times now and its still working fine except when i dropped this phone while walking through roadside while raining, it got scratch on its corner and now it looks aweful but not noticable! And the most, it only cost Php 3,999 (philippine peso)of $88 (US Dollar) for all its features! its AWESOME!!

Its easy to configure the phone manually. I tried to configure it manually using my SUN and SMART Sim. And my mobile is activated for both network. if you have problem on how to set it up try to search on google GPRS setting for smart sun and globe .

well you can go to ur fone company and they will send you to some other �company�where they use a computer and that computer guess all the combinations there could be and unblok it. but.. that proces may take up to 3 hours. thats what happend to me:P

Your phone should be preloaded with the necessary gprs settings and all you have to do now is text GPRS ON then send it 3405 and text MMS ON then send to 3405. You can also visit any branch of smart wireless center to have your gprs activated.

Don't believe it because this model is already preloaded with smart, globe and sun gprs/mms settings. For smart, just text GPRS ON to 3405 then text MMS ON to 3405 and your GPRS/MMS will be activated. You don't need to go to smart wireless center because most of the personnel there are nokia-friendly people.

I saw this cp in megamall and i thought it's expensive and i dont double mind when i ask the price to the sales lady and she said.. it's Php 3990.00.. WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!! Where the heck ul find a cp which is soooooooooo cheap and yet you'll get more features than those branded cp.. MORE POWER to ALCATEL... but!...... I bought this model 2 months ago and it is ok. You can solve the problem of sound-weak by install other ringtone via the web. And for the USB, my way is, turn it off and then you do not need to install the PC suite. You can try.

the appearance of this phone is real good but the software is too slow, easily hanged! it pissed me off!imagine just 3 days after i purchased it, the software no longer worked, the memory card is also not working that i bought a new one.. the cellshoppe where i bought my phone replaced me with a new unit coz as they said "factory deffect ma'am" after a month, the phone would automatically shut off..when there's a promt "file path error" beware, ur phone is endanger! it would hang up or automatically shut off.. it really gives me headaches..huhuh! have a second thought if you like to buy this phone...

this phone is great,nice options for its price and small not so known features like the weekly alarm and the minute beeper. i just have a question to all users and to Alcatel: isn't there any way to make it not ask u "are sure u want to save " with everything? i mean everytime i add a contact it asks me r u sure? everytime i set up an alarm it does the same this is pretty stupid. isn't there any way to disable the silly confirmation? i still have +100 contact to add. mercy :D

actually it's quite sexy after some months of usage I must say it has this french sexy factor even if it's underpowered and not a technical wonder just LOVE the rubber-like back surface - I wish it had the same front - not this shinny plastic matted surface is much cooler than the finger-magnet shinny one I want a matted smoothly rubberized monoblock like this with antiglare screen surface - enough shinny plastics - they're just proved wrong for a device you operate with your fingers frequently anyway - good move alcatel - this model seems to be a real hit despite all the missing functions

hay guys this phone is gr8 ,, after 3 weeks of usage it proved to be robust ,, the build quality is the best and the phone works flawlessly the only downside is the battery is drained fastly when browsing the internet and listening to music but the battery as total lasts for 2.5 days and its ok for me i got some java games like the dark knight and dinner dash 2 also i got opera mini 4.1 and they all work gr8 ,, but it is pain in the @$$ to find wallpapers so i had to make my own and to resize my pictures .. if anyone interested i can send him the java games i got and the wallpapers and also if anyone got anything lets share

This phone does not have fm radio but it has mp3 player. Remember that music played in fm are not all your favorites. But the songs you load into your memory card are of course your favorite.

i got the phone and it is super ,, more than i expected the screen is good but difficult to find wallpapers and games the sound is so clear ,, i had a c701 but the sound of v770 is more clear and crisp reminds me of samsung and although some of you might think that the sound isn't loud try different mp3 files coz i downloaded some from www.zedge.net and they rock the only downside i c is that the sound in the handsfree is low lower than on the c701 p.s: try java games and wallpapers from samsung x820 they work ,, for downloads check www.mobile9.com

with the wired headset the sound is not loud even annoyingly not loud - especially with some old 80's records with not so loud mastering all the mp3 players I had were like 50% louder if there was a standard 3.5inch jack I would try some lower ohm-age headphones to increase the loudness - but the input is mini-usb :/ this is a major design fault not to include a standard jack for headphones also the phone just stopped working one week after I bought it - the guys at the servise fixed it in two days just reinstalling the firmware as I understood I think I'm slowly getting to dislike this phone even if it was kinda cheap we'll see...

i bought this fone for 2wks.it is a great one with all what you need.only for its relative low sound quality as i cant hear it in crowding compared to nokia and se and samsung.but overall iam satisfied with it and like it very much.

running operamini on it is like trying to load winxp on an old pentium machine - very slow! the overall menu speed is fast thou, just running java apps is very sluggish dont know why - maybe slow cpu or bad software support but if you want it for opera browsing it's kinda pain in the butt, also no cyr support at small font renderings - another disappointment found in my previous panasonic vs6 looks kinda weird - pretends to be stylish but materials are very strange - looks like props not like the real thing :) but ok it's cool - the mp3 player rocks! video recording is not so bad for such a poor camera! taking pictures - well nothing really special but works cheap funny phone that I got with a BT headset - not a bad deal I think - will use it untill I get my hands on something like iphone 3g or something like this :)))

hi all friends, i had my ot-v770 3 days ago. i think it is good piece. sound quality is good. u will find most of ur needs in good price. i work in desert and in this 3 days i hadn`t big problems with network. even i try the browser it is good not bad. but i need to ask about the video when u zoom at recording u will hear the click of zooming sound while u watching it back. is there anyway to mute this click?

I have that phone and it works great. Still can't say about the battery life, but the functions are ok. The Display looks great, the MP3 player is loud enought with good acoustic and the skins are nice looking. There is no problem connecting with PC trought bluetooth or cable, but works as webcam only by cable connection. The software is good with lots of features, including picture editing, sinchronization, ect. About the strange keys and landscape display - it's easy to get used with and when that happens is really convenient working with the phone. In Bulgaria the price is quite reasonable - 110EUR, including Bluetooth Handsfree. The package contains Mobile Phone, Stereo Headset, USB Connection Cable, Bluetooth Hansfree and Battery Charger.

This is in large part due to the mirrored flat keypad that dominates the front fascia. As it catches the light, the keypad gives off a sparkle and with it a touch of prestige not often associated with entry-level handsets. Available in a glossy white or soft touch black, we'd have to say we much preferred the black version, but perhaps that's just down to our own gothic taste. The keypad is described as being touch-sensitive, which often sets off alarm bells here at Choice Towers. There's little more infuriating than a handset that launches into a function with the slightest accidental brush of a finger. Thankfully this is not the case with the Alcatel OT-V770. The keys require a degree of pressure for a command to be acknowledged. Although there is no definition between the keys - except for the navigation wheel found under the screen - they are large enough and spaced out so that there shouldn't be any problems keying in the correct digits, even for the larger thumbed among us. The navigation wheel itself, as well as guiding you through your various menu options also acts as various shortcuts, which can be altered to your preference. The OT-V770's screen is not the biggest at just 1.9-inches, but this is compensated with a bright display that can showcase up to 256,000 colours. When in the menu interface, the various icons are well spaced out, transforming from a cloudy grey to a colourful display when you move the cursor on to it. Alcatel OT-V770 unlimited video recording The phone only offers a miserly 10MB of internal memory, but there is a microSD card slot found on the right-hand side of the handset and Alcatel has very kindly bundled a 2GB memory card into the box, providing plenty of storage for all your media content. This is especially good news as the OT-V770 has a built-in video player that can capture an unlimited length of video, as long as you have the battery power and sufficient memory of course. The camera is only 1.3-megapixels and in today's market when two-megapixel cameras are almost becoming standard, even for entry-level handsets, it may disappoint some. However, there are a few features to help you capture half-decent snaps, though if you're looking for a phone with a good camera, this is probably not the handset for you. Alcatel OT-V770 music player At the heart of the Alcatel OT-V770 is its music player. As well as MP3, the phone also supports AAC and AAC+ formats. While playing your tunes in the music player, you have the option from three dazzling graphic displays. The navigation wheel acts as the media player�s controls; press to the left or right to skip or rewind tracks, up and down to alter the volume, while the middle key acts as the play/pause button. The �My Star List� allows you to add 100 of your favourite songs by simply pressing the * key when playing that track. You can also view your tracks via album, artist or genre. There�s no 3.5mm jack port, but the OT-V770 does support Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP). When trying to pair a Bluetooth device to the handset, you have to wait a couple of seconds for the search to come to an end before you can select the relevant device, which can take up to a minute. This can prove a minor irritant especially if the device you�re looking for is the first to be found. We managed to pair our Alcatel OT-V770 with a Sony Ericsson T650i without any problems and were consequently able to transfer music to and from each device. However, when we tried to pair it with a Motorola KRZR K1, we were unable to do so despite numerous attempts. The Alcatel OT-V770 is the first tri-band handset to be produced by the manufacturer. It is also GPRS-enabled and this connectivity can even be used to surf the internet via your PC. Simply hook up the phone to your computer with a mini USB lead and hey presto. Yet with most PC�s hooked up to broadband or Wi-Fi anyway, it�s difficult to see when you might use this function. One feature that may be utilised more is the built-in webcam. Once again, plug your handset into your PC and the theory is that your Alcatel OT-V770 will be transformed into a webcam enabling you to view and broadcast live action over the internet. Unfortunately, as our review model was hot off the manufacturing line, we don�t yet have the relevant lead. Alcatel assures us though that this function will be included in the box when it starts hitting retailers. Alcatel OT-V770 overall Alcatel has really hit the low-end jackpot with this handset. That's nice to hear, Knight rider :) If they can : 1)improve their God-awful website 2)improve their God-awful software suite and drivers 3)launching many many more mid-end to high-end products with unique designs they would be on their way to establishing themselves as a real (though still comparatively small) competitor whose products are sought after by people who don't follow the norm (like Sagem). Alcatel is doing fine, they have made a nice profit over the year 2007 and have sold more units. Plus they will launch 15 new products over this year and they have extended their partner ship with TCL until the year 2024. That is how well they are doing. Also Alcatel China has started shipment of a "BlackBerry" type of phone with the Alcatel brand for the China Mobile company. Alcatel is more alive now than it ever was!

Alcatels makes great phones AT GREAT PRICES. Of course they can't compete with the bigger brands on features and capabilities but for such low prices, you'll get extreamely decent phones. That's why a few of us here likes them so much, and calling them "great" phones. Alcatel needs to bring back its phone back to Australia. However there are some shortcomings to their brand- it seem that they constantly churn out phones with limited specifications- for e.g a mjority of phones do not have Bluetooth. I have used their phones and they are very reliable.

Think you should check with the American distributor for Alcatel at Cellatel.com .But one thing for sure, it's gonna be cheap. If this is the best looker of all Alcatels launching on 2008, then I would buy this one! (if that happens my OT-C825 would be up for sell, any takers :) )

This mobile phone is already available in my country-Bulgaria from a couple of days.It's a very cool phone-I played with it for 5 minutes or so and stayed very pleased with the functionality.I think that Alcatel are imroving.Someday they'll reach out the bigger mobile phone brands regarding functionality.I am sure of it.

Wow. If Motorola goes away this might be something for people like me, who want these features and a nice design, but don't need 3G, Wifi, HSDPA or anything else that just drains the battery and the telephone bill. And of course for someone who doesn't want to pay more for a cell phone than he paid for his computer :-)

I kinda liked it.. common, when you buy things, it doesn't have to be expensive. like I prefer Creative than Apple for media players!

yes, this phone is amazing for people who actually use their brains when buying a product. It's cheap, good design, features that people actually uses and not just to show off and is not burdened by "premium" branding. what's not to like?

Alcatel's design have been copied by other brand specially nokia and now Alcatel is doing it too. It is copying the three brands' design but mixed it up.

@ Don Alcatel wasn't the first to use this keypad... LG had already used this keypad layout before with the KE820, and then Samsung used it too, with the P310. But I guess Alcatel mixed that layout the the MOTORAZR's keypad design.

I've noticed Alcatel had tried to use funny keyboard designs, but I love the individuality...very french way of doing things. Now , more top end models with similar design philosophies please..and my OT-C825's days are numbered haha

This V770 is only one of Alcatels many new phones for the 2008 model year. It will be showcased in february at the 3GSM. It is similar in terms of specification to the midrange C825 but this shows how Alcatel has managed to make that phone thinner and much more flashy looking! Expect this phone to come out sometime in the second quarter of 2008!

w00t im 1st (and probably the only one -_-)....this phone look kind weird, 1.9inch display is good for alcatel, but no 3g/edge/infrared its kind disappointing, but it must be a cheap phone for middle range, so with card slot make it good :)
