alcatel Pop 2 (4.5) - User Reviews

  • 3.8 MP (2560x1440) camera not 5.

  • li -ion batteries work better when you are not used to the end 0%,but most to 25 % and then put the battery to charge75-90% , ( why?) lithium-ion batteries have a rated lifetime of somewhere between 500 and 1,500 charge cycles. so if it reach 100% or less then 25% then it lose 1 cycle.(the user runs it down all the way to zero before recharging) can degrade to 70 percent of its original capacity in 300-500 cycles With a DoD of 25 percent, where the user plugs it in as soon as it gets to 75 percent remain, that same battery could be charged up to 2,500 times before it starts to seriously degrade. Charge a little bit whenever you can. Lithium-ion batteries don't respond well to being charged all the way up and then run all the way down. They take much better to little bits of charge here and there. What's far more dangerous to a battery's well-being is heat. Lithium-ion batteries despise heat. Battery consumption depends on the applications you have installed on the phone and working in the background even if you do not use the phone. such as; facebook, instagram, messenger so if you delete these apps and use them through the browser , thus saving up to 40% of the battery (day)life , the display put on minimum brightness and wi - fi, bluetooth,3G use it when you need.

  • I have an issue with my battery it only works for 23 hours.that also when idle. Play time is max 5hrshow to increase battery life?

  • It doesn't have Autofocus!

  • For anyone who wants a cheap smartphone this is THE BEST! I bought this for $100 Aussie. It does everything that it needs to - just not as good as a normal smartphone. The camera's crappy, the sound is crappy, etc etc, etc, but you cannot expect more from a phone that is 75% less (at least) than its competitors! It totally does the job and works well. My only gripe is that it does not have a great amount of storage and I have to keep deleting apps to add more apps on. i'm sure that an SD card would help with this, but that would probably affect the processors. But man, I didn't pay for a $600 - $1000 phone, so I don't expect to have a phone that works at that level.

  • sound is low, camera flash distorts image, usually needs reset to detect headset or provide internet through hotspot feature.

  • take it to someone who can fix it

  • hae I bought Alcatel pop 2 two days it crashed I had destroyed the receipt to claim another one how can I you help so that I can use it again please

  • PlayStore ,Download application compass

  • There is no compass sensor either. (I bought 5042a model)

  • This is NOT a bad phone, yes the screen is two-point-touch only TFT, not a major issue for the most people, TFT is lower quality when see from angles, that IPS screens, but has better power consumption. The GPS is quite fast, camera is not that bad, I had some concerns, as I read on some reviews that there is no way to take macro shots, wrong, the camera is doing well, I can scan some notes, articles from newspaper etc. There is no NFC and IR as the specs here say. Otherwise is a nice phone.

  • for model 5042X. Tuner FM works MONO, with RDS. No nfc, ir. GPS supports Beidou along with GPS and Glonass. Good RF sensitivity due to RF360 solution, good audio quality, suports HD voice (amr wide). Powerfull enough for most aplications. GPS is sensitive, works also in house, most cases, with lower precision.

  • good camera feature but many time when using it switches off automatically and restart :-P

  • Why this phone dont get android 5.0 version while other Pop 2 ver (4) and (5) get it?

  • onthe oofficial website and after test my phone the 5042D don't have don't have IR port and NFC chip !! see reading spec for Snapdragon-410-MSM8916 soc (system-on-a-chip.specout.com) it is a 64 bits but CPUZ show for software a armv7 davlik 1.6.0 and kitkat 4.4.4. I really hope a 64 bit hardware ll be use update using ART lolipop if kernel version could support this ( 31028 KTU84P now ). I really hope Alcatel with their logo "MOBILE UPGRADE" logo text on the back of the box ll be available soon for a low price phone ? (

  • The lumia 635 could be an alternative ( with IPS screen and 4g). In Europe France it can be found to leclerc around 100 euros. the alcaltel launcher has issue (crash or slow ) so you should replace it with nova .the NFC is not hardware available in the device I bought. With tasker and chromecast kodi raspberry picket cast it suitable for my need

  • Great phone .for gaming,filming,....almost everything good battery life stands 1 day or more ,depending on your usage, i play modern combat 5 online for 8 hours battery drops from 100% to 45%

  • does this phone get updates?

  • Its a great phone forfor me

  • Last week my wife bought this phone unlocked for $85 US dollars... Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 64-bit, Adreno 306 and LTE for this price??? I think is a good adquisition: good camera if there is enough light, screen resolution is low but looks nice anyway, Modern Combat 5 runs smoothly with no frame rate drops. Maybe a little heavy for my taste.

  • The only good thing on this phone is THE PRICE. I got mine with 20 Euros (The whole price was 117 Euros and I've got a discount at Orange Shop). Poor screen, no activation of flash within the camera software, horrible calculator, big icons on screen. Cheap plastic cover and a lot of bloatware (signed by Orange Romania)

  • Doesn't this tri-boot android 4.4, fire os 1.0 and windows 8.1 PLUS WRONG PICTURE

  • Orange Roya

  • Wow, you no absolutely nothing about CPUs.

  • A good thing, you get higher frame rates when gaming.

  • i already have one.Looks good and have good internet velocity i buy it for about 100 bucks

  • This is an upgrade of the alcatel ot 995 except in the multi touch part and the processor

  • Look at the screen resolution. xD

  • A53, 64bit are coming even to the cheap side...

  • good processor, 2 multi-touch points only? boooo!!
