You may blindly buy iPhone. Android phones are only good for below 300$. Many Android geeks don't understand (or willingly try to befool) that iOS doesn't require much resources as Android. You will get software updates for not less than seven years. But, if possible, go for iPhone 11. XR is also great as it stood first among top selling phones. 720p display isn't an issue at all. I recommend the K20 Pro(Mi 9T Pro globally) because it is cheaper, has a 1080p SAMOLED display(compared to the XR's 828p LCD), has 3 decent cameras so you can get shots you can be happy with and with different angles. however it doesn't have wireless charging which I'll give the iPhone credit for, and neither have expandeable storage in case you were wondering, but don't worry about water resistance. the K20 is not officially rated but it is protected with seals so water won't ruin the phone, even at the pop-up camera, and this also applies when the camera is up and out. Speaking of which, it lights up and doubles as a notification ring at the top, plus there's a headphone jack so in some cases there are things that this phone has over the XR despite being cheaper. This phone also brings a wow factor and uniqueness that even the newest, most expensive iPhones can't compete with counting the phone's dazzling colors(Glacier blue,flame red, carbon black, pearl white) and patterns in the 3D glass back. This is a true flagship killer hear and deserves all the attention it has gotten throughout the year, however it still depends on what you need and/or care about.

Hi friends, I am using iPhone XR since 1 year.I am satisfied with its camera. But when I upload photos from gallery to Facebook I can see around 30% reduction in the clarity of the picture.I have checked all the settings form Fb to phone . Upload HD photos and vedios from both settings are Enabled.But still the HD clarity is missing.This is a huge disappointment for me. Is there any solution to fix this? Go for iPhone XR. It's a great phone. My dad is using it for the past one year and he hasn't faced any problems till date. Moreover, the battery life is extremely good. Gives you a full day from average to moderate use. The only downside is it's bulkiness. Rest, it's a good package.

I’ve skipped the 7,8 and X. Got my XR last November, still doing well as expected. The main difference is the extra 1GB RAM, better camera, dual camera and bigger battery capacity and A13 of course. I will recommend XR if you’re not those going for the latest tech trend kind of person. XR suits my daily needs for work, social and some basic gaming.

LoL. Apple not gonna tell you how. They always put higher estimation based on "LAB testing" than realistic hours on daily usage. Battery life estimation tend to be higher too because no 3rd party apps are installed and running on the test, so in reality the battery life is going to be shorter than advertised. AND it's getting worse by multiple IOS updates, re-indexing generates heats a.k.a eats the battery life.

XR XS XMax all have same processor, so XR will get same software update as the others. The current 13.1 update is applicable down till SE model so not to worry about updates for next 4 years.

Hi, since this phone is not apple's flagship in it's release year, will it get as much software updates as XS and XS max will (cuz it was released in the same year as them)? I have the following problem - I bought XR a month ago and right from the start I experienced issue with fading calls. I could hear the recipients, but my voice goes away if the call lasts more than a minute. It's so annoying! I've send the phone to the authorized service, but the problem is unresolved. Would get the XR based on the camera performance. Although it has one less lens, it has Apples new camera AI so it’s s far better at photo depth. The processor is also better but the only downside is the screen but it's not that noticeable.

Yes, you can use dual sim. One would be the physical SIM card and the other would be an ESIM. I think you would have to have both numbers on the same carrier unless your phone is unlocked.

I am also from Bangladesh and I am using iPhone x. No network issue yet. However your model is going to be the Chinese version since dual sim version doesn't come here officially so I think you would end up with a refurb unit without knowing. So keep your eyes open and do research before buying otherwise you will regret it afterword.

I have been using the XR since November of last year. Having used it for everything from work to playing fortnite and pubg, the phone just holds up. My last phone was a Samsung j3. The XR is in a different league. And as for Android, I think I’m done with phones that I have to buy every year just to get latest updates.

I have switched from iPhone X. You dont have to worry about the display at all. You will not see the difference in every day use. Colors, brightness and quality are still beautiful. Just go to the any store and take it in the hand. Bonus - you dont have to worry that one day screen burn in appear.

Switched from iPhone X to XR and I cannot complain. With my use I am always finishing day with 50%+ battery. Camera is much more reliable than one from X, especially in portrait mode. And forget about display resolution, you will not see difference in every day use. After day of use I have forgot that it doesn't even have 3D touch.

I wouldn’t say the Oneplus is the better option if you are a consumer that changes his/her phone once every 2-3 years as Oneplus only gives you a few updates within this period of time with late security patches and low security levels in general almost making your ID unprotected from most online threats. So it really comes down to the person as an individual how much they care about their privacy and security also another thing is Apple phones in general run smoothly from day one to the day the phone don’t work anymore and I’m saying that because I own an iPhone 5 which I use for work lol runs perfect. The Oneplus I’d say is a great option for the techy type consumer that spends a ton of time messing with their phone playing games and watching YouTube from start to finish lol great phone though don’t get me wrong cameras screen price etc all perfect. Just incomparable to the iPhone as all android phones are. Apple is a whole different experience and there isn’t another manufacturer that can compete with Apple due to Apple running its own OS

I have had this phone since April this year and it is by far the best iphone battery is better than the flag ship models and while there is pros and cons with most phones I find it a joy to use. day to day use I use it for work taking photo's and emails to using vat apps and heat loss calculator. In my personal life twitter and faceBook and what app and messenger all work great and the fact it has 64g of space mean I cram it up with all th apps and games I like It is just a great phone. I am using XR in India, I bought it in Japan it has one physical sim and 2nd sim is eSIM, Airtel & jio currrntly support eSIM. So if you chose these carrier as second sim option u can use XR as dual sim phone

it has 2 variants, one has dual physical sim capability and other one is one physical sim with one e-sim enabled. it depends upon your carrier if they support e-sim or not. if they do then you can put one physical sim in your phone and take your phone to your carrier to scan the QR code of your E-sim. This should work fine as almost all carriers in india have e-sim enabled.

Sorry but S10+ eats this thing for breakfast in any department other than CPU performance because the XR has Apple A12. Camera, screen, IP rating, storage, features... S10+ has it all.

I should admit, "I was blown away with the impeccable performance and buttery silky smooth performance" This was the first Apple device that I am owning and it's a marvelous device with great features in terms of software and hardware specs. I have same issues with XS Max. Sometimes calls are dropped and shown system failure. I had US version single sim where that problem was. But I sold that one and bought a dual sim Hong Kong variant but the problem remained. I guess this problem is due to intel modems. Nothing can be done. The network reception issues are common to many YouTubers. Check Nick Ackerman channel. We need to wait for next Iphone to see if the problem is resolved or not.

What a annoying brand phone you've bought. I had one annoying phone too which was Micromax. My current Motorola phone still works good. My suggestion is forget about bad unpopular brands and laggy Samsung. Go for iPhone or Xiaomi or something with lightweight android.

Ever since the 12.3.1 update my 128GB XR drains exactly around 4% of battery per hour at idle doing nothing, literally tried everything (restart,reboot,calibration,factory reset,hard reset,location services off,app refresh off,signed out of icloud,low power mode...) Previous to this issue at light use I got more than 30+ hours per charge. Now without doing anything at all my phone would die within 24 hours!!! . Hope the next update (12.4 official) will fix this issue.

Same for me!!... I dropped my XR into the water and it went inside of the phone causing damage in the display. Went to Apple store here in New York City and Apple does NOT respond back as a warranty stating that water and liquids is not part of the warranty. They can trade your damage XR and replace with a brand new for $432 USD (tax included). So, be aware and better to not take pictures inside the pool!.

I got this phone XR 25 days ago and I just wanted to take a picture in a pool ( as this phone "has" IP67 certificate) it was less tan 30 cm deep in the pool and the display just gone off.. the water was inside of the display. Be aware!!.

Ok Steve that's interesting. Perhaps much depends on what you're looking for in your phone. I would have thought that the s10+ would have a better display but maybe you prefer ios over android and this would understandably colour your judgement. I like the XR best in the iPhone range but would not be happy with the lcd display particularly as I currently have an s8 with a beautiful screen.

Samsung can actually use that speed to multitask and do many things with its speed, Snapdragon 855 is well optimized and the only thing that makes the XR good is that A12 bionic chipset which is better in benchmarks but in real world usage the difference is negligible and face it dude Apple is not the company that it used to be when Steve Jobs was there, overpriced, less innovation, terrible battery life, no fast charger in the box and that's why Apple is losing market share and sell less iPhones.

I doubt that you have the S10 plus, lol better display on any phone, better battery life, a more versatile camera and it has a usable display resolution unlike the XR which looks fuzzy in comparison, the XR is not a bad phone but you can't compare it to the S10 plus which is better in every way.

The best phone ever! It makes my Samsung S10+ feel very dated and laggy. The truth is that the S10+ has started lagging already especially after installing about 10 Apps while on my XR, I have all my email accounts (push syncing), invoicing App, multiple business Apps and over 20 other Apps I use in connection with my 2019 iPad Mini and my 2018 Macbook Air. In all, the iPhone XR is a better phone than the Android flagship by Samsung in performance, camera, battery life and fluidity. For an Android add-on I would only recommend the Huawei line up

The iPhone XR, is good, but not he best value for money. It has LCD, it is thick and heavy and it has big bezels. But it does have good colours and a a better chip. The s10 is better value. But it has a slightly slower chip, still great tho. It has less battery but it has the best screen in any phone and three cameras. In my opinion, S10 bug if you get XR, you will also 😍

If you want a gaming smartphone with a good camera get the XR if you can live with a less than Full HD resolution display but if you want a complete package The Galaxy S10 and even S10e are a better value for money, you twice the storage, Ram, a better display and more future proof specs however if you care about gaming the XR is better because of iOS and a better chipset for smoother performance. Depends on your needs from a smartphone.

If you look at camera department XR is way better in picture details and portrait shots when compared with S9+ and S10e. Rest if u want an organized gallery, full fledged file explorer and more customizable provisions then go for S10e or S9+. I'm telling this with my own experience where i jumped from S9+ to XR and now again back to S9+ all due to the last said reason.

Well, after using my Samsung S9+ for complete one year, i finally gave it to my brother-in-law & bought myself an iPhone XR. Just wanted an exposure to iOS that’s why. What I’m missing on XR is the wonderful QHD Amoled display, open environment of Android, Samsung gallery and a full fledged file explorer from S9+. What is good about XR over S9+ is the smoothness, speed, security and camera, specially portrait pics on XR is way better than S9+. Now choice is urs. **Note: fast charging is also missing on XR but XR discharges very slowly than S9+ so I don’t need to charge my mobile now twice a day as I used to on S9+.

I Would strongly recommend having a look at and purchasing the Xiaomi Mi 9 as it a 6.39inch display, has the fastest chip ever put in a phone snapdragon 855(7nm), it has an antutu score of 376000. It has Super Amoled display with HDR10 and wide colour gamut and a triple camera setup with 48mp(normal), 16mp(ultrawide) and 12mp(telephoto) camera with superb clarity. Selphie camera is superb with 20mp. It has a very fast under display fingerprint scanner. It charges very quickly in under 1hr also and has wireless charging. Best part is its around £450 and can buy it on ebay, it is the most cost effective. Hope this helps!

I would personally go for the Iphone XR as has a beautiful design with minimal chin however the notch may be a problem but you will get used to it as Face ID is a good trade off, iPhone is newer than s9+ and has a faster chip with better graphics performance it has an antutu score of 346000 compared to the s9+ with only 247000 this difference makes a huge difference. Exynos chips are not very good with ram management and they lag in games the performance worsens the longer you play the game and iOS is a lot better system than android in general. Also if you get iPhone people will instantly respect you more and think you are rich which is always a bonus haha... Hope this helps!

It's because apple is still forced to buy there OLED panels from Samsung and LG. Apples main supplier hasn't even been looking into manufacturing OLED screens until very recently. It really wasn't that apple wanted to use it per say (I wouldn't actually know what the final decision on Apples part was) it was probably based on the simple fact that Samsung has the best OLED panels on the market and apple as well as iPhone users are paying for them. So until Apples LCD manufacturer begins production on OLED panels Apple will be forced to continue to use LCDs on their "midrange" iPhones

Dxomark gives OK review as opposed to the Huawei devices top 3. So I have a soft spot for iPhones but for me they need to ditch Sony as there camera. And go for something like Leica. I come from S9 and I can tell you that iPhone XR is a beast and it's very close to pixel 3 in terms of camera and XS in many things. The thing is , Note 9 was my option but after 2 years Android phones will have no latest update. So iPhone XR will with the latest OS will receive the latest OS until my phone XR dies by it's self. Note 9 didn't come with latest update from the box. I'm loving iPhone XR a blue color.

I own this phone and to be frank the portrait mode on this device is not as exciting as I thought. It does perform good yes, but the blur gradient that you get when using double camera's phone is not here.I mean it only focuses on the face, the objects that are close to you will get blured therefore you get a photoshop like portrait which I don't like at all. Coming for an iPhone X the camera is superb yes but I'd rather prefer iPhone X's portrait mode.

Um, see xr is having a12 which is a successor of a11 (which was used in x). A12 boost your performance by 50% so obviously you should go for xr especially if you want to game.

yes its 326ppi and it does not matter at all. I have been using the phone since it came out and no problem at all. I can watch hd videos, I can record 4K videos and lots. so don't judge based on the ppi and without using the phone. ask those who's using XR

iphone X overheats within 10 minutes playing PUBG and maybe even half that time playing Fortnite. For the Xr I don't face that problem at all, beside that I lose 6 to 7 percents only every 35 or 40 minutes of playing PUBG on high settings (I check that by CPU DasherX) and this app does not state that my phone is overheating while it did tell me that my previous X overheats

No, no fingerprint scanner on iPhone XR. They replaced it with FaceID. From what I hear it's pretty good and secure, but I'll see how it is when I actually get to use it. The fact it can't be fooled by a photo like 2D options on Androids is pretty good. Would still be nice if fingerprint was still an option tho...

Well I am using S9+ now and I had no issues with the phone yet . I just need a change and the mate20pro and Xr seem to be the best option. I need a phone that is fast and smooth and have a great camera and battery life. Was using iphone 6s before my s9 and I updated cause I felt outdated but the phone was a best for a 2 and a half years of usage. So my thought are that I like the iOS more than android, but the things I am looking for are the performance, the camera and the battery. Plus I plan not to change my device for 2 years. If you can recommend me something I will be thankful.

My first iPhone 6 years ago was 4s, after that 5s and 6s.. I hated the batterie life of all of them. By late afternoon I had to charge the phones. Now with iPhone XR with médium to heavy use, i’m getting 60 to 72 hours of battery life, more than twice of my wife’s iPhone X. My only complain is XR’s weight and site.

well there are two problems is your nessage. 1: if you need always on then why you need led notification? and no iphones doesnt have these two. others you mentioned can be arranged on samsung like mp3 files for ringtone as itunes will convert that to m4a and you can use it on your phone. anyway with all you said you want i think better go for samsung s9 or s9 plus or if you have more money note 9.it has everything you want

Im saying the “hype” about 2K or 4K displays nowadays is nothing more than a gimmick, because watching 2K videos on youtube (aka the Galaxy Note8 or Note9) appears no different from my iPhone SE which only goes to a maximum of 720p. SE has 326 PPI which makes the individual pixels invisible in a video. The differences are only visible when looking at small text, this is where the SE fails. As he said, the difference is obvious due to size but its impossible to see the detail difference in a video, you would have to watch at a very close distance where the human eye can no longer focus, thus you can never watch the SE on short enough range to see the flaws. When reading small text the flaws are visible even on 600 PPI, thats a different story but not part of the original statement. I can add about the SE: Beautiful whites, extremely good LCD, a delight to watch high quality videos on. I can not think of a single phones that has a noticeable more correct white temperature than SE, its exceptionally good despite its low resolution, the brilliance of the SE display was the first thing I noticed back when I upgraded from 5s to SE.

Buy what makes you happy, but remember Samsungs have region lock so be sure you are not gonna go anywhere far away for a period of more than 2 weeks. Having a roaming sim is insanely expensive in some parts of the world, for example people from Afghanistan who live in Europe and bring their European Samsungs to Afghanistan, they can easily use 500 dollars of roaming data in 2-3 weeks, if they are careful that is. With iPhone, just swap to a local sim and enjoy almost free usage. Remember you PAY for a phone, make sure you can also USE it, if you can't then you have paid good money for a phone that isn't really yours.

coming from an iphone X the best thing I overturned is the heat, I mean only browsing on safari or reddit used to make my phone heat on the back (under the camera mainly). I had two units, white (changed it to black because I found the colors dull and it scratches easily I had to polish it each week). I did miss the oled display and 3d touch but believe me I no way regret having a smartphone with LCD especially because I literary can't kill the XR before night (playing pubg too). I can by no way tell the difference on screen quality between X and XR only the deeper black of the amoled on the X. The camera is superb and the portrait mode is really awesome on this phone(it does't miss at all) I highly recommend this phone

It's actually a personal choice based on the User Interface. 2 are not stock Android, and Apple, well Apple has their own. All 3 are loaded with options like a Rolls. Except the Apple 10's have above par camera sets. As far as screens- I have phones from Apple and Samsung. Watching Amazon Prime on them is about the same when you physically go into the settings and adjust them. BUT screen viewing area is more important. Then consider battery life for your daily needs. I have not purchased a Huawei so I can't comment on their phones. Oh and also a note on repair bills for battery and (S Amoled) screen replacements, Apple's just a TAD bit more heavier on the wallet. Hope this helps.

I have the iphone 8 plus in silver right now, and am considering upgrading to the iphone xr. I had noticed the screen is a little bit bigger, than myiphone 8 plus screen. I am thinking of taking my current iphone to the apple store and exchanging it for the xr in white. With so many other colors, I have decided to purchase it in white. I would only have to pay the difference in the price, I'll have to go to my carrier and have it activated. The only thing I'll miss is the home button, but other than that, I would like to try it for myself.

With being from Pakistan i think its hard to find used iphone X so if the 300 bucks extra will ruin you i say GO FOR XR. Keep in mind though, an Xs will be worth 200 more than Xr after a year so the price difference is actually only 100. If you plan to keep it 3 years the Xs will be worth maybe 100 more but over 3 years a 200 loss is only 67 a year, sounds like a good deal to me.

This phone is very impressive and I’ve had it for a few days now and really can’t understand some of the negative reviews I have read. I came from an iPhone 7 which I also thought was a great phone. I only upgraded because I play more games and watch a lot more videos on my phone and I wanted a bigger screen. And I’ll start off with the screen. Personally I think the display is really sharp and good looking and I don’t see where the complaints are coming from with this display. Possibly people are only looking at the screen resolution numbers and not the screen itself. My wife has the 8 plus and you really don’t see a difference in quality normal use. If you look close enough you will see a difference but in the majority of cases the screen is more then fine. Things like YouTube literally look the same and it’s hard to see a real difference to be honest. Battery life and performance from the A12 is just great and it noticeably faster and quicker at task then the 8 plus and gaming is very satisfying. As far as iOS goes the gesture movements are easy to get used to but will take time to adjust and as much as I love Touch ID, Face ID is really quick and works pretty much every time. And as far as the bezels go you really don’t notice them anymore after using it a while. It just becomes normal. The camera is really good but to be honest I don’t use my phones camera a lot because I used actual cameras so I can’t speak much for it but it does take some really nice photos. The only complaint I have is 3D Touch. I told myself I don’t really use 3D Touch but I didn’t realize how much I used it until it was gone. Other then that I think this is a great update for people who still have older iPhones. I think if you have an 8 plus or X you should just keep those phones but if your coming from a 7 like me this is a serious upgrade and I got a holiday deal with mine so I only had to play around 600$ for it which is how this phone should have been priced in the first place. But ignore the crazy LCD reviews because this is a great phone.

I came from an iPhone X to this and this is my initial impression. What I love about XR: Battery life. 100% better than my X! Greatly improved camera! Smart HDR is a massive plus both in camera and video recording! I didn't even miss the telephoto lens on my X! Coming from a SuperAMOLED screen phone, I can't see much of a difference between LCD and AMOLED with my naked eye. Except for the black. Not so deep black but barely noticeable or unless you compare it side by side with X/XS. Perfect size! Not too small nor big. What I miss on on XR coming from an X user: SuperAMOLED screen 3D Touch. I used it mainly on settings. (Wifi/Mobile Data shortcut). But Im getting used to it without the 3D Touch because we have haptic touch. Slimmer bezels which makes the X/XS look more premium than the XR. Stainless steel vs Aluminum: Neutral. Either way both looks and feels premium! Performance, and Face ID is a tad bit faster on XR's A12 Bionic chip but you cant really notice the difference. Overall, I'm satisfied with my XR! At first Im missing the AMOLED screen and 3D touch but then I got used to it :)

Good luck being so dogmatic u cant see things corretly. Its not a cheap lcd, its acctually a very good lcd that is on par with oled. Man, just go to an apple store, hold xs and xr side by side, you wont notice the diference in display quality: the only experience diference is contrats ratio witch you could only notice in very low light and with certain content. Just stop being fooled by specs, see things by yourself.

actually there are more advantages. OLED screen flickers making your eye hurts( the light turns on and off constantly really fast. You might not notice with your naked eye but it does harm your eye. For me, I can't use OLED screen more than 2 hours cause it hurts so much it makes my eyes blurry.

No no no no no, this is not true. Apple didn't bend LCD on Xr; I'm a fan of Apple but I never said that. Apple just made them dimmer on the sides, that's all, also these LCD's are produced on a different manufacturing process making narrower on the sides same as Mate 20. Also as belong to screen-to-body ratio: a larger phone with less bezels means more SBR. And yes you're right, 79% of SBR is nothing fancy. I have used xs max for a month..then give it away to my wife..now having xr and really loving it..for me getting used to the 720p screen was a big issue..not anymore..it’s a solid gaming phone with the best iOS battery life.. considering xs max price, you may save 350$ and it’s worth every penny..cheers !

I'v tested this and iphone xs max and iphone x.And i have to tell you that screen on this guy is amazing.Color is not yellow like on other two its soo well calibrated and is brightest screen i have seen.Plus side is that feels much more fluent and smoother due to lower resolution,and i really dont notice pixel even though i have sharp eyes,i can see if i want but really its not noticeable at all.Screen is much better then iphone 5,5s,6,6s,7,8 even iphone x,xs

Hi there. No they don't use the same screen. Mate 20 screen is half an inch bigger diagonally than Xr' 6.1" screen. In addition to this, Mate 20 sacrifices symmetry for narrower side bezels. These two combined make for a better screen-to-body ratio than Xr. As you already know, Apple was never known for being a screen-to-body champ. Why? Because, Apple is reluctant in making high screen-to-body ratio because they praise visual look more than functionality or practicality.

Obviously this is. Apple grand achievement was symmetry, but the paradox with X iPhone series is that their bottom bezel is narrower than any other phone, while their side bezels are thicker than most other competitors. This makes these iPhones wider than other phones although they have taller screen ratio. As for the Xr, that is hated globally for no reason, to me it is an achievement on its own. Making an LCD screen with such narrow bottom bezel is quite difficult, it is quite nice screen too, low pixel density aside.

I like the design of the X series, but the bezels are so mich thicker than so many other phones. The XR for example has even bigger bezels than the Nokia 5.1 plus which is only 150 euro. The iPhone X has thicker bezels than the Galaxy S8 because of this symmetry. It's funny why reviewers and others from tech community are considering this a bad display. This is pretty much the same display as the iphone 8, just a little bigger in size. From the reviews it almost sounded like we would be able to see individual pixels like a supermario game but the display is actually very decent, though the phone is costly overall. Hopefully the price dips a bit in coming months with better deals and the package will be worth it for those who want an iphone.

If you want to experience haptic touch on 6s or later, just disable 3D touch in settings = haptic touch like Xr only in control centre. Switch mine of as I plan to upgrade to Xr and get used to it.

Correction : not the fastest soc, the one with the higher benchmarks...that's not the same Maybe the latest updates but still not able to do simple things like managing your files or change default browser...even unpacking archives is a nightmare. No, it has an excellent camera but Note 9 and Pixel 3 have better cameras. Huawei needs 50 million cameras just to keep up with other smartphones and has a weak sauce SoC. XZ3 has a decent camera but it's nothing spectacular and has good battery life. Pixel 3 has the worst battery life amongst these phones followed by Huawei then Iphone XR. P20 pro has an amoled screen, weak SoC and 4000 mah battery yet it still only has an 89 h rating. Pixel 3 and huawei also have some screen issues. Iphone XR has the fastest SoC amongst all these phones. Pixel 3 and Iphone XR get fast updates. Iphone XR gets updates for a longer period of time.

If you want screen symmetry on a phone, you're stuck with Apple forever. None of Droids will be able to match Apple in screen symmetry for about 2-3 years (when OLEDs become cheaper, because of introduction of microLED's in smartphone realm) as they refuse to bend their OLEDs to keep price low. Latest of 'em with OLED screens have thicker chins than this LCD phone, which is crazy on its own, let alone Xs series!!!

In my opinion, this comparison is badly done it doesn't give any answer about the ppi importance. It gives answers about contrasts and brightness. If you want to test the importance of ppi, you shouldn't use videos or photos. You should use something that give you the higher contrast between 2 neightbours pixel... For exemple, black text on a white background. Some people will see the difference, some others won't. Stairs effect on "A" or "M" for exemple.

I personally would choose the X because the XR is too big for me, but you can choose what you want more. I can list you the most notable differences XR: - bigger screen - better main camera - faster/more efficient A12 Bionic processor/GPU combo - longer battery life - will get cheaper over time if you buy it new (unlike the X because that isn't produced anymore) - Dual SIM X: - better screen - telephoto camera for optical zoom - stainless steel frame vs aluminum - smaller bezel - overall smaller/thinner/lighter - 3D Touch But with each individual advantage, you have to decide for yourself how much it matters to you. For example, dual SIM doesn't matter to me at all because I only have 1 SIM card.

Iphone XR got stereo dude. And the performance compared to 2018 android flagships is like day and night. Try out for fortnite and you will understand what i mean. Yes i know the screen on XR was using LCD instead of OLED but remember LCD could last long than OLED which will burn in. If you care for VR go for OLED. The different would be noticeable. Yes V30 is a monster when come to content creator but XR has good on auto. Rich of features on V30 make XR look a like midranger but when compare to UI smoothness XR take the crown. I know LG UX heavy bcus i own V20(android 8) when compare to XR i was like man this phone was damn smooth. My LG laggy and i need to install nova launcher to make my phone more smooth than stock. XR is quiet good for those who cant afford for Xs/Max.

Main differences are the screen and camera so I would recommend looking at them both in person and see the displays and feel the phone as the xr has aluminium frame which feels different to the stainless steel on the xs. Also if you don’t need the second camera the xr is a good deal. Plus the xr has best battery life out of the 3. You need to decide if the better screen and camera are worth the price jump

Went to see the screen for myself today. For an LCD panel the colors look really good and the pixel density is just fine for regular usage. I put them side-by-side with the XS and I barely noticed any difference, honestly. The bezels are almost twice as thick on the XR compared to the XS but you don't notice it actively unless you're comparing the two phones side by side.

User experience isn't only a matter of performances... Even mid-range soc gives pleasant experience. Remember that a web page will fit to the width or your screen, not to the diagonale. Diagonale is marketing. A 5.5" 8 Plus is easier to read than a X. The width of the screen makes your phone easier to read. The width of your device makes if easier to handle. How does it matter in terms of performance? Is it that thick bezels mean phone is slow? Or thick bezels mean the phone is useless? how does bezels make difference, apart for aesthetics and increased screen area? As of date bezels are structural requirements of a phone. It protects the edges of screen. As of date, bezel less is just a gimmick. It hardly makes any difference in performance.

The camera on the XR has a larger sensor than the iPhone cameras from last year, but loses the telephoto lens. Still, the larger sensor is a worthwhile trade-off IMO. I think the iPhone XR is actually this year's best option for (most) people looking to buy a new iPhone this year.

I own iPhones since the 3GS. My current phone is the 8 Plus and my wife has the X. I need a big screen to do my work so I don't have to carry my laptop or ipad around. Years after years I find the iPhone less and less appealing. Evening diners we take group photos with my friends who own Galaxy S7/S8/S9/Note x and night shots are always better on the galaxy vs their iphone counterpart, i.e. a galaxy s9 vs iphone 8 plus or X. I'm also shooting videos as I have young kids. I was very disappointed to see that Apple never added a stereo mic to the iPhone. So I shoot 4K video but in mono. You pay a premium but you never get the premium. When looking at the Xr, I don't see anything compelling. Apple touts the most advanced LCD. It's just an IPS LCD screen, nothing revolutionary. It only has one lens when the 2018 Samsung A9 has 4 lens. It still records in mono. The screen is not 16/9 so you'll see bars on the left and right when watching movies. The most advanced LCD screen is not even full HD!!! Photos look awesome on a tiny screen but when you mirror them to a 75" TV, you see all the artifacts. My old Canon T4i takes better photos. Sure it's bulky but you only have one shot at taking photos of your kids. I hung onto the iPhone because of facetime, free international calls between iphones and IOS. But now I use more and more facebook messenger so no more dependency on facetime. Overall, to me the iphone has lost it's appeal because you pay a premium without getting anything outstanding. Apple has always been late to the game, late at releasing a large format phone, late a upgrading the screen to OLED, late at dual lenses, late at facial recognition, always late.

I agree that Samsung doesn't lag, I owned old s7 edge and recently upgraded to s9. The battery is good but not great just like the s7 , but damnn the ram management operates poorly, I envy those apple phones with only 2-3 gb of ram but does the job well.

FYI, I owned both s7 and ip 7. Unlike from a friend's experience, i have had terrible hands on end user exp and can assure you ip 7 sucks big time in ram and battery management. And s7/edge lags?? Ask any1who owns the device not rumours from friends'/ checking out 5mins at the store.4gb vs 2gb and dual core vs octa core and 1600 vs 3000mah and don't cry optimization, c'mon man..use the lil bit of brain u got left. You didn't say you can see a pixel at 326ppi, yet you said my eyesight is bad because I can't see one. So that can mean 2 possibilities 1. Xr is equally capable as Xs and Xs Max in image quality, because bokeh portrait no longer requires telephoto lens to separate subject from background as it is done thanks to new ISP and dual pixel PDAF of its main camera. What you lose compared to Xs series is literally only 2x optical zoom. The X had 1.22 micron pixels while Xr 1.4 micron, how can it be inferior to X? Im telling you it is way better than 8, 8 Plus and X

So you have a bad eye resolution. Lets hope you dont have fovea degradation, if you do you will be unable to ready by the time you reach age 55-65. I have an average eyesight, its been proven too many times that most people can benefit from resolutions above 600 ppi. I was among the very first to get a 440 ppi phone back when they came out, i loved the sharpness but the flaws in antialiasing was very obvious in small text. Photos did however look flawless, no pixels visible, and i will also agree that photo and video look more than good enough on 326 ppi displays really good but its nowhere near perfect. Well, be it as it may, you can keep your opinion but theres no doubt that you are the one deviating here, not me, im almost exactly in the middle of average.

I dont understand what you mean, the Xr has a very inferior camera, it must be you misunderstood what the second camera is about, you have NO chance to do the same things with a single camera, its super inferior and it IS a big deal to most so how can you say people arent making a big deal out of it? Xr of course, it‘s the successor of the 8 Plus. Only downside may be that the screen is not as wide as that of the 8 Plus, but to know how you deal with that, you would have to try both in a store. For me personally, they are both too big, so I could only consider iPhone 8/X/Xs

Everybody cries about that screen, yet you have to think about the fact that you get The same chipset, main camera, faceID, fast storage, wireless charging, glass back, design, almost everything except for a few details for $ 250 less, and at $ 749, it is priced very well on par with other flagship phones, it‘s even cheaper than some. Even though some journalists call it „budget“, it absolutely isn‘t, even that LCD screen is the best LCD in every other department which is not resolution, and as I wrote earlier, even if I try hard, I can not see a single pixel. That higher resolution may be important for VR, but I personally don‘t care about VR so I also don‘t care about a ppi above 326ppi. Even though Apple‘s „perfect screen size“ changed over time (yes, 4“ is not perfect, that was a joke and I admit it because I am not as blind as many fandroids), the „perfect ppi“ Argument still seems valid to me, 8 years after the introduction of the iPhone 4. A downgrade seemingly nobody talks about in the XR is the missing 2nd camera. And even though I don‘t think it is really bad that it isn‘t there, it‘s still far more significant to me than the display. People who want a great phone at a great price should act fast and buy a used X now, i recently bought 2 of them and one was almost brand new with 256GB and i paid less for it than the official price of 64GB Xr. We will soon see dissatisfied Xr owners who will regret not going for a used X, same as those unfortunate people who bought a new iPhone 5c instead of used iPhone 5 some years back. I must add some corrections... People used to think that ten cores were for power... They weren't... They were there for stability. Despite rumors, have you ever seen a Helio X20 with CPU throttling (in reality or on video)? I test it and run the ten cores during 10minutes with only 6% performances drop (Vernee Apollo lite)... With the same 20nm process from tsmc, SD810 can't carry 8 cores during 2 minutes. Even some quadcores aren't that stable. Instead of increasing number of cores, Apple (and Samsung) increases Instructions Per Cycle, it's the same : calculate instructions in parellele when it's possible (not that often)...that doesn't work better...singlecore benchmarks grow, not speed of device. Agree about QHD screens...but not fullhd! If on pictures and videos, it's difficult to see differences between 300dpi and 400dpi, on texts (webbrowsing), difference is clear. Problem of XR isn't the HD screen it's HD screen for 850€. In Shenzhen, you can find fullhd 400dpi screens on devices that cost less than 100€!

So, first of all, I am an apple user since last year (8+). A bit of history: - Samsung Galaxy S - Samsung Note 4 - LG G4 - Blackberry Passport - Huawei Mate 8 - Iphone 8+ Conclusion: My favourite by far was the square Blackberry Passport! Second on the list was the Mate8 and third is the 8+. Why? 1. BB had an amazing feeling of quality, and the combination between physical keyboard, trackpad-like keyboard area, great battery life, and style is still unbeatable. Even if it's a defunct OS, I will get one for a good price just because of the security and simplicity of the OS. 2. Huawei was the best Android phone I owned, regular updates, unparalleled smoothness for android, amazing battery life, stayed really cool under heavy loads! and yes, it was a 1080p 6 inch device! Had no problem with that, even small text was crisp. 3. I bought the 8+ because i accidentally dropped the Mate8 and broke the screen (the replacement screen was taking 2-3 weeks...). So i purchased the 8+ 256GB for 950€. Yes it's expensive, but not more expensive than android phones with the same capacity. So far it works well, just as expected. Fast, smooth, good battery life. There is no wow factor about it, it's just very reliable and feels good in hand (pretty big hands here). some key facts for all the blind people: specs are just numbers! just as these features from ios are just marketing, it's the same thing for android! specs on android phones are pure marketing. What's the point of having 10 or more cores if they will never be able to work under sustained load for long? Or why praising a 4k screen on a 6 inch device? Have you seen a 4k TV? Yes, the same f*****g resolution some of you have in the pocket. How does this help you? do you think there is a difference between a 1080p and 4k in 6 inches screens? maybe if you look with a magnifier, but that defeats the purpose of watching a video on your phone. etc. I could write a lot more on this topic but the point is: myself, as a lot more users, didnt buy the iphone for status, I graduated high school more than 12 years ago. So, whenever I buy something it must work as expected. And with the 8+ i get 5 years or more SW updates, which is not applicable for Android. Everyonw are grusging on the low PPI screen, in fact it is 828p,not 720p, a 108 more pixels squeezed into the display, this is because the screen size increased to about the size of 5", but all screen display with aspect ratio of 19.5 :9 makes the screen goes to 6.1", but remain the PPI of 326, which still cannot discern the individual pixels. This is just like the Android implementation of 1080p and 2k screen, 1080p screen is actually much more than enough, even up to 7" screen, still remain 323PPI and won't able to discern single pixels. 2K actually are overkill on an smartphone screen.

On the display, this is a step backwards from the iPhone 7 Plus, which has a 1080p display. This phone is roughly 720p quality. Also, no force touch like the iPhone 6S, 7, and 8 and just a single camera with 5X zoom and no telephoto lens like the iPhone 7 Plus with 10X digital zoom and 2X optical zoom, same amount of grain as 5X without the telephoto lens. If you want the X technology, you are better off buying the more expensive iPhone XS Max or buy the iPhone 7 Plus or iPhone 8 Plus for a lot less money. At least the iPhone 7 and 8 Plus have a 1080p display, the 8 Plus is an improved display over the 7 Plus. The only Android I would consider is the next Pixel since it gets all Android updates as soon as they are available like the iPhone receiving IOS updates when they are released.

it's color calibration is unmatched though. sunlight contrast is way better than any other LCD. even at 326ppi you can notice that the screen produces plenty sharp images. people at apple know what they are doing. do not get scared of sweet cherry-picked words, the xr is as capable as xs series.

XR will outsell the other 3 models. I would think purchaser's would want at least 128 GB internal since external storage isn't an option. So at $799.00 USD plus tax we're talking at least $850.00. Then most will add AppleCare for $199.00. Is it just me or is $1,050.00 way too much for a device which doesn't offer External Storage, AMOLED Display and a 3.5mm Jack? It's quite ridiculous consideing that the Iphone 8 plus had a higher 401ppi with 5.5" display and they expect people to buy an iphone Xr(retro) with a 6.1" display which has 326ppi (same ppi than the iphone 8) and a lower resolution than a the iphone 8 plus (1080). No need to mention that the iphone 8 plus is far cheaper than the iphone Xr. The resolution of the screen explain this larger battery life than the other iphone. The question you should ask yourself is would you buy a HD Ready TV that cost $749 over a Full HD TV that cost between $599 and $749 ? (even the iphone 8 plus has a better screen)

lets face reality: the cpu and gpu aren't what make a phone expensive nowadays, it's the display guys. apple is trying everything to make this Xr as appealing as possible. but actually the screen is a rip off, so they can compensate for those OLED-$s apple has to pay to samsung. it got bigger screen size than the previous non (X, or plus) iphones. the bigger the screen size the less sharper the image , when sticking to the same resolution. (at over 6'' you will see a difference, unless you are blind... physics.) combining that with a big notch and additionaly adding some bezels (i thought bezel-less is the new trend apple? why reverting back?, oh yeah cheap LCD, got you.) and also a chin you gonna have a fantastic 720p viewing experience that resembles that of many phones of 2013. the nexus 5 even had a full hd display ... for 350$! Samsung galaxy S4(!!!) has even a better screen. how the hell can you justify this for 750$s ? you can't! unless you worship apple and wont take any justified criticism whatsover, because apple can't do wrong right?

With Android apart from Google, Nokia, and Essential you really dont know what your getting in terms of support. I am not defending Apple. I was thinking that people still find it surprising when apple sells older technology and weaker tech than competitors for a higher price than competitors. That's because majority of their user-base, either don't care enough about the specs, they just want a reliable experience. Reliability often isn't cutting edge, it very well could be, but obviously Apple would choose to earn more $ per device, while compensating that with "unique" tech features and their iOS, known for simplicity, ease of use and stability. Though I'm not so sure about the iOS anymore, it needs more big changes, and it recently isn't being very stable either... but more stable than Android - sure.

XR Better SoC Better camera Bigger display Longer battery life Faster Face ID Less cramped keyboard More color options Cheaper X Telephoto OLED Higher res/ppi Smaller The X is only good value at $500. If both were priced the same, the XR is easily the better value. Gets iOS12 out of the box while iOS11 initially was terrible. XR may not get a successor next year knowing Apple focuses on high profits and not volume sales. So if you purchase an XR this year, you may not feel so bad while the iPhone 11 replaces the XS. If Apple does offer a successor, they might gimp it. This isn't the 5c which was the same internally as the 5 but put it an uglier, glossy plastic body. The XR is no doubt better than the X. If you're explicitly going by screen resolution, the XR has a resolution of 828x1792. HD is 720 x1280, so it will support HD for Netflix (:. I'm not an Apple user, but I think it's nice that there's a cheaper option now by Apple. Less pixels theoretically means less pixels for the battery to push resulting in slightly better battery life. Take that from a XZ1 Compact user with just HD of 720x1028.

Lol people whining about the resolition probably never had an iphone before in their life. You wont notice any difference from a retina display and a higher resolution display unless you plan to use a microscope while using it. My only dislike on iphones are its a hassle to download and transfer files. Iphone 7 and zenfone 5z user here.

Everybody is comparing this phone with similar android phones priced lower (between 500-700 dollars) - like Oneplus 6 for example. Oneplus 6 is 519€ in my country and the Iphone Xr with added 22% tax will probably cost 849€. Thats 330€ difference. If you now think about it. This extra 330€ gives you: State of the art A12 bionic chip with neural processing. Probably a better camera experience. An official IP67 rating. Face unlock with all the sensors needed for this. And at least 5 years (judging by the Iphone 5s) of software upadates which include new IOs releases and all security updates. On the other hand, you don't get a great Amoled screen and fast charging out of the box. I think that in 5 years that 330€ difference is neglible, if it means you get a phone capable like this. It's like 66€ a year for 5 year which is like 5,5€ a month for 5 years. And not to mention it is made with enviroment in mind, which you just can't say about all the cheap phones that come out of china. Reference: I am using my Iphone SE for about 2,5 years now and I'm really satisfied. If and when in breaks, I would by this one in a hearbeat and I would probably use it for at least 3-4 years easily with all that processing power...I wouldn't get the Xs because 850€ is really the upper limit of what I'm willing to pay for a phone. If I would live in a country with greater BDP I would probably consider it. So that 330€ difference all of the sudden doesn't seem that much. That's just my opinion...

The price (€850) and the low resolution for this screen size (DPI is actually OK) are the most concerning issues with this phone. Otherwise it looks great. Will have to wait for some real reviews until jumping to conclusions.

Iphone Xr is not huge. It’s in between an 8 and an 8 plus, and it’s definitely not bigger than a note. The reason the screen seems so big is because it’s lack of bezels.

In my opinion it's absolutely crap phone. Huge (even wider than Galaxy Note), heavyweight with low resolution screen, and as usual for Apple - no 3.5 mm jack. True - A12 is great CPU, but what besides that? After SE iPhone 7/8 became the only more or less compact phone in Apple line but still not as compact.

There is nothing wrong with the specs of this phone. If this phone comes with a GIgabit internet modem, then it’s worth buying it. The modem speeds are more leasted under the LTE section for some reason.

Good for you. I like that they went for 120Hz for the displays, camera looks to be on the Pixel level, or even above, finally some decent Screen to Body ratio for mainstream phones. Good job, Apple, desperate times bring good results, Android now has a lot of catching up to do. I've never actually owned an iPhone myself, but I've used for a good while through many iterations.
