  • 1. Factory reset your phone 2. Run the update program 3. If it fails do not disconnect the phone from your PC just retry the update. Mine took three attempts to update. I have since updated four other phones of this model with no problems. I think it was the factory reset that fix the problem. Nick

  • What should be the MRP of this product!! getting various MRP

  • Dear Akash, m930 even with the latest firmware version 4.5.7, you must remember that the Microsoft Office features in Asus M930 (after the migration process into Windows Mobile 6.1) limited only for editing matters not creating the new files. The trick is : You can create several master templates for Microsoft Office Files in your memory card then you can save as different name with your own custom after editing process. But for me it's not healthy and simple :), and this is the only freedom we can get from m930. Also the keyboard in reference with your need of MS-OFFICE editings; for me it's not so ergonomic (for the fast typewriting person you should make the keypad response faster into 1/2 second at least). The keypad so small (after typing around 12 words, I used to get inaccurate typing). You should let yourself get used to it for a while, but afterall it's just a small keypad not a complete keyboard. A professional commercial application such as 'OfficeToGo' can be an substitute alternative, eventhough it costs a few more dollars to be spent. Beware about the compatibility issues between officetogo and MS-OFFICE mobile in real practice. Goodluck Akash.

  • What abt the MSFT EXCEL application? have any1 tried t yet? S t easy to work on it.. I'm planning to buy this n a couple f days... Please.. this is urgent.. gv me the best features and the drawbacks f this SMRTPHoNE

  • ---Correction for my last post--- I had my problem solved with 4.5.7 firmware. In order to avoid the same problem as I had and to complete the firmware upgrade process perfectly, be sure to remove the simmcard and the memory card also. After that charged the m930 to the maximum battery capacity. For the windows xp users Let the active sync, the firmware 4.5.7 software and your precious winxp box do the rest. My final conclusions are m930 is not the best design communicator ever cause the qwerty keypads don't have an ergonomic touch in my fingers, also m930 has inherited the battery issues as the other windows mobile devices; but m930 is the affordable device in price and in features-if you can forgive the couple of days only battery lifetime after last recharged and can make a peace with the sometimes unexplained hang problem (just make sure reboot the device once in a couple of days, I don't know why it works for me). Goodluck everyone. Currently I'm planning to keep the device a little bit longer.

  • Sanjay, I am also interested in buying this Handset in Hyderabad, India. I am getting it for INR 15,800 but I would like to know from where are you buying it? What is the market price for this handset? Thanks,

  • Dear Sanjay, there are lots of complained statements about the battery life of windows mobile devices, I'm one of them. The temporary solutions are reducing the brightness of screen until 30%, always upgrade to the latest firmware which mine is 4.5.7 (for Singaporean,Indonesian dan Indian users), sometimes you should also check the task manager whether you've programs which consume too much memory (kill it or live with dried battery with it), the rest is up to you ;). My m930 standby mode should stand 2 days after last recharged battery (that's the fact dude, not based on the phone reviews!) Remember remove your simm card and memory card, when you're upgrading the latest firmware 4.5.7, otherwise you should've the exact same problem with my last post. Try to find patches for windows mobile you can find at least three patches so far cmiiw. My additional suggestion for the stability matter, try to find a software to review you memory capacity, when you've only 90% of the maximum capacity try to reboot the device (mind it you should recharged it again, because one reboot could consume at least 10% of battery life capacity). Goodluck, is up to you Sanjay.

  • Hi, am planing to but ASUS M930, its on sale for INR 15000, what do you suggest? my purpose is to use most of the applications avalable in it, is it worth investing 15k on it? plz reply

  • After upgrading the latest firmware version 4.5.7, sometimes I have problem when tryin' to contact number from my phonebook. Some of the contacts from my phonebook can't be dialed correctly. I can't hear a voice from the dialed person. But unfortunately the generousity of my phone pulse charge can't be compromised. Every unanswered calls from the otherside party always becomes a phone pulse killer. How about new firmware ? Goodluck Asus

  • Genn - can you tell me the deliery time that it took - and in in which country it was deliered- couse once (1mounth ago ) i bought a phone "SCI PHONE"(chinese "iphone") was 185 www.mobile-store.fr or(be) i was realy disapointed from that phone and from delivery (took toooo long ) thanks in advance friend

  • thanks genn i will try it

  • The shop that was selling the phone( Nilstech: ) for 185 Euro is not listed anymore. I guess I bought the last one from them, because after my order it went from "In Stock" to "Out of stock" :). And now they don't even have the M930 listed on their website. You can check the site from time to time and a better offer may appear again - for now the best offer is for 230 Euro. Check also the "Price History"( Preisentwicklung )on the Geizhals site.

  • The keyboard is responsive. This is the first phone with qwerty that i am using, so i cant really compare it with the others on the market, but I think its ok. I mean you'll need some time to get used to the keyboard, but after that the typing is fast and easy. Using Skype/ICQ/MSN on the phone is superb

  • hei genn, how about the qwerty keyboard? is it responsive? n is it comfortable to use the qwerty? N how many memory (RAM) available if you don't do anything with the phone (idle)? DOes the memory leak?

  • I bought this phone two weeks ago in Germany for 185 Euro( brand new from an online store ). Its the real deal. There is no lag in the menus. Its actually fast - tried CorePlayer with some movies and it run flawless. The battery life is great - with wifi on it run more than 6 hours. I use wifi about 2 hours a day, write a lot of sms and about 20-30 min talking and the battery keeps on going for about 2.5 days. Really didnt expect that from a phone for 185 Euro :). There are some problems though - 64 MB of RAM is not enough. You will get a lot of "Ot of memory" messages, if you tend to run a lot of applications at the same time. The memory is just enough to start Opera, Skype and thats it. From time to time I have to restart it, because it just runs slowly...no idea why. For two weeks that happend two times, but I was playing alot with the phone( installing different apps etc. ) during this time, so I guess it may be my fault :). On some sites it says that the phone is running Windows Mobile 6.1 ... its not. Mine at least is with 6.0. On the support site of Asus there is no trace from an update to WM 6.1. Does anyone knows if there is such an update? PS If you have any questions about the phone, just ask here... I will answer gladly ;)

  • is this gadget value for money? how about the speed (is it lag or slow)? and how many memory left if you turn this phone idle? Does the memory leak?

  • I tried Blackberry in M930 smartphone. Just install the software at support.asus.com. Chose software for India/Singapore and you can use blackberry service. So far i have no problem by using the Blackberry from M930.

  • can i read pdf files on it

  • I purchased it for its features. But within a month of purchase one device was replaced. The replacement is yet to satisfy me in battery performance and pre-loaded softwares. The internet purformance is very poor. But may be I am yet to appreciate the technology. Let that benefit of doubt be with the pretty device.

  • No..its not touchscreen. But cool and stylish.Im happy with the performance.

  • Is it touch screen

  • yesterday i hav purchased ASUS M-930...Realy its a good phone it is value for money. Thanks ASUS for INTRODUCING such a good devive in the market. regards, Isha Agarwal

  • only just seen this phone and love it i was going to get the toshiba G910 but now i might get this

  • Iam using communicator from last 2 years & iam very use & freindly to its menu style nd fetaure dats why i didnt like any other device but this ASUS M-930 is realy good one in design as well as handy & light in weight, the plus point to this device is it is on WINDOWS platform so i would love to have this device.

  • Features are cool...and smaller size make is much better.

  • I liked the webcam feature and great deisgn.Would love to use the smallest communicator on windows platform.

  • I beleive this is the one phone by asus which can nearly kill nokia e90 market in terms of price & specfs... i am just awaiting when this phne gets launch in india i would be teh first person to buy this peice.....

  • I'm really excited to play with this phone. Kudos to ASUS for employing the communicator design. To WM purists, it can't be helped for this phone to be compared to the E90 since it's the E90's exact counterpart in the Windows Mobile Universe. Most of the qualms revolve on the smallish internal display which can be explained by Microsoft's restriction on limiting the smartphones' display to the 320x240 pixel resolution; which is also good since a user would find it less difficult to install apps on the standard QVGA resolution. second problem would be the phone's internal keyboard which is made of a rubber pad. All of us know how hard it is to press rubber pads vs qwerty keyboards with individualized keys.

  • Nice structure and the LCD inside is just smaller I with it could be bigger. But I have the Asus P735 and it gave my satisfactions I'm sure that this will give a bang to your expectations.

  • Really love the form factor, unfortunately that's where the similarity ends with the Nokia E90 communicator. The biggest disappointment is the internal screen size & not touch sensitive, overal specs acceptable.

  • i wonder how people have already "had a play with it" when it was only recently announced. and please, stop comparing it to nokia e90. the phones are class apart. just because they share similar design does not mean that they function exactly the same. just thank asus that they though that this design would be better when SE, samshung and motorola failed to do so. i was planning to buy HTC S730 but now that i have has a look at the spec sheet and pics of this baby i guess i should wait.

  • asus phones are very good phone, but the one of the disadvantage is the keys all are very hard to press .

  • Had a play with it. Really liked the designe of the handset. The internal screen is really small. The weight of the handset is better the E90. Like the handset waiting for the price tag to come out.

  • dissapointing.. small inside screen, ridiculous resolution.. nothing special, NokiaE90 much better, but will see the price-tag. If it gonna cost up to 300E, maybe not so bad choice.

  • this one looks good with all it's goodies
