Asus PadFone - User Reviews

  • I've got the Padphone tablet if anybody needs one. Bought the set for my grandfather to make sewing the screen easier. It was easier all right.... cleaning his house I found it unopened, but something had been dropped on the box, and the phone is a goner. Message me for details

  • I lose my Asus padfone how can I have one

  • 1520 milliamps? HTC copy!

  • I'm thinking of getting a padfone, which model is the best and this padfone great and do you recommend this padfone to anyone

  • I have the PadFone and love it. Just a few days ago, my tablet disappeared. So just have the phone, just not the tablet part. Is there any way to track my tablet if the phone isn't in it?

  • Go to eBay man.

  • my Asus phone is lost and i can not use the tablet without the phone. How can i get a new phone to replace the old one. HELP

  • For 'Andy', he writes: "in fact by putting the phone in the tablet over and over again, some scratched appeared on the side of the screen..." I have solution for this problem: just every time you put phone to the tablet- clean up phone screen from the dust and microscopic rocks. Just all! For understanding: when we put phone to the pocket or keep phone in holder- no matter how clean are pocket or holder can be find out microparticles. I been find out by myself.

  • Hi I am using Asus PadFone A66 since 3 years, its good concept to have all in one but service is very poor. Some time back I broke the screen of phone but not able to get it. Please let me know at 9971521144 If I can buy an old Asus Padfone A66 to have my Key board and Pad working again.

  • How do you save pictures from message

  • I use this phone more than 2 years, +/- OK, but I'm really disappointed about additional A66 "option" : if you would like to use WhatsApp, please forgot about contact sync with g-mail. It's not work simultaneously because of adress books conflict. About unexpected heating is also true.

  • I have the A66 first model sinds 2012, I loved the concept to have a all-in-one device. I was a little disapointed about the no-scratch remark on the box, in fact by putting the phone in the tablet over and over again, some scratched appeared on the side of the screen, only visible when the phone is off. Recently I used to have some problem with the cores and rams of the phone, but in 2 years I used my phone EVERY day more than 4 or 5 hours for work and play, so +-3650 hours of use, that's maybe the reason of my hardware problems. Anyway, it's a nice concept produced by an excellent brand, Asus is my favorite brand for all my hardware stuff, and the 1ste padfone is from good shape, but if you want to buy one, I suggest to by the last one Padfone 2 or Infinity.

  • I have had the exact same issues with mine, along with it loosing service for no reason, and dropped calls. this phone is the worst!!!! I hate it and AT&T does not want to help. I am on the NEXT plan so i will keep sending it back and getting a replacement phone til I can afford to get a new phone. this is ridiculous!!!

  • me too, never again... hard to find service center in eastern province, KSA, jarir wont accept unless bought from them

  • Bought this phone in June of 2014. Two months later it just died. went to take the phone back to AT&T. They tried to fix too no luck. Luckily it is under warranty. Took the replacement phone back today to the AT&T store, they activate it. Turned it on, and guess what, it is dead again. We did however find out that AT&T has stopped selling this phone. We went in to buy the I5 and they talked us into this. To say the least we are really upset. I am a truck driver and only home for 3 days at a time. I have to have a phone that works, my job depends on it. My wife's phone is also having overheating problems and their excuse to day was all smart phones get hot. Well we are HOT. We will be taking back tomorrow for them to be replaced with the I5. We spent way to much money to have something that does NOT WORK !!! There is a lot more to this story but don't feel like writing a novel tonight !!!

  • Can i asking why my padfone like this all letters are gone.its a drain battery then i was decided to connect the charger then after a fews hours its ok and while ioppened i seen all letters are gone...help me what to do

  • Can i asking why my padfone like this all letters are gone.its a drain battery then i was decided to connect the charger then after a fews hours its ok and while ioppened i seen all letters are gone...help me what to do

  • No, there is also hdmi port for sending video signal to Station

  • No, the slot for the tablet only fits the padphone, hence they are only sold together

  • i owned a padfone 2 for 1 year already. so deseapointed by this product. i can say it is the worth device i have had in hands for 20 years. ASUS is the winner ! Let see : after one month, the micro stopped to work , must bring to ASUS service in Bangkok... about 10 days to repair it ... some weeks later the device begun to bug, and stopped definitively after that. back to Asus service ... 2 or 3 weeks later , they changed everything inside and bring me it back "updated"... 3 or 4 months after using the low quality plastic silvered around the phone begun to remove at the bottom, and the phone was half silver half black ! Some weeks later , big bug again, impossible to turn on again , back to Asus for third time in 6 months... I got back the device 2 or 3 weeks later (?)... again they changed all programms inside , and for sure erase all the data for the 3rd time ... after that everything was ok during 3 months... wow ! but the plug to connect the charger is very low quality and very fragile and so easy to brake. so one day impossible to charge it, the plug was destroyed... Back to Asus service to change the plug ... do you believe they needed more than 6 weeks for this service, just to change the charge plug ! i just get back my phone ... In during one year using , i could really use it about 7 months ... and 4 to 5 months in service ! so i was so happy to use my phone again after 2 months, and this time they keep my data inside ... but ... i cant use it because because the micro does work again ... I dont know what they have done ! crazy ! so if you think about buy this kind of device, think twice ... one thing more the warrenty is just applied in the country you bought it ... international brand Asus ? no way ... about the performances : pictures are good if you look them on your computer, the lense come from Sony, but the screen quality is not so good. colors are poor compare with iphone or samsung. The phone is able to warm up to 50 or 60 degrees when charging, or sometimes alone with no reason. you must stop it before to use it to make it cold . the sensibility for network are lower than the devices i have in my house . ( samsung/lenovo/iphone). the flash is very poor unusable in night ... memory with 32 GB is not enought for me and no SD card available on this device. one good point is the screen sensibility, really good. Speed procesor is good too. the brighness is ok if you use outdoor mode, but after some minutes you can cook you eggs on the screen, before the battery let you down ... maximum use is 6 to 8 hours using outdoor mode... and if you use it non stop it would be only few hours ... sure you have the tablet to charge it, so you must go around with your tab everytime. about the tablet, the quality of the screen is really poor, very far to be like some new HD tablets ... Building quality is awfully bad ... i asked them the change the part on the bottom to new one, and they : refused , even if i paid ! maybe no spare parts available as Asus change model every 3 or 6 months.. so please Mr Asus, your style and concept are nice but stop to put so bad products on the market. before to check the quality seriously. Many Padfone have troubles , but your engeneers still go on to create new model ... For me ... its never again ...

  • Does the dock station works with other android phones

  • I got my padfone a66 in 2012, im happy and still loving it. I am begging to asus company to pls make a new one of this 3 in 1 same concept, same design shape, size etc but would like it in full HD and pls with keyboard dock..

  • can we use padfone and tablet seprately please let me know i brought these gadget today

  • The very thought of combining three different platforms and making a device is the key for creating a new potential market. The PadFone has won the innovation award of 2012 at International CES which explains this is definitely a step into innovating a new kind of product. Now if we are looking at just the smartphone and not a bundled package this could be a deal breaker, but that's not the case the package includes below items. -PadFone -PadFone Station(Tablet) -Station Dock(Keyboard Dock) -Stylus Bluetooth Headset -Sleeve -Wired Headset with In-line microphone All the devices have their own independent batteries PadFone(1520 mAh), PadFone Station(3300 mAh), Station Dock(3300 mAh) with which a total of upto 17Hrs of usage time could be achieved when all three devices are used together. And answering the question about ASUS being an unknown company - ASUS is $14.73 Billion dollar company in revenue as per 2011 and it has extensive service network all over the country and that definitely is not possible for a small player. Review after Four Days Hands-on: Battery Life: After four days have passed i dint had connect the charger to the phone, this is possible only if you use all the three devices time to time, once the phone to docked into Padfone Station the phone will be charged to 100 percent and the Station Dock will charge both Phone and Padfone Station keeping them charged up all the time. The concept is simple, phone is the key device without which both the devices are obsolete and their mission is to keep the phone alive at all times. I will not say how many hours of talk-time you would get but i assure that you would never be disappointed. There is a small flaw in this concept as if you charge the phone and keep it at 100 percent at all times it might reduce the battery life in long run, but this is a easy fix as the battery for the PadFone is user replaceable. Looks and Build Quality: The first look of the phone will tell you that the build quality is exceptionally good. The phone comes is a aluminium casing which makes it strong enough to withstand falls. The screen is protected with a corning gorilla glass. The back cover is made out of good quality plastic with a ripple design which not only adds to the design factor but acts for the phone back cover to be fingerprint resistant. Display and Performance: The display is 4.3 inches Super AMOLED display with great viewing angles and with an outdoor mode which could be used to make someone blind when used in dark. The AnTuTu Benchmark score is pretty impressive which came out as a surprise to me. It scored a total of 15, 688., Playing head on with Google Nexus 4 and leaving Samsung Galaxy S2 far behind in the list. Games and HD video playback is flawless both on the phone and PadFone Station, i tested Robocop which has very high end graphics on phone and tablet and the graphics look amazing on both the devices and the game runs seamlessly. I understand that it is a very long review to read but once you read it, its really hard to resist yourself from clicking on Buynow, so have some patience.(This is warning to stop here for users who could not resist their temptation) Operating System and Proprietary Apps: The phone ships with ICS 4.0(Ice Cream Sandwitch) and is upgrades to 4.1(Jelly Bean) which is not bad for a phone which was released in 2012. Asus has done a tremendous job with some innovative apps pre-loaded some of them are so good that, they make you same AWESOME out loud and I am not going to spoil the fun by explaining the features as it is a wonderful to discover it yourself. on the flip-side there are some application which are not that useful of which some could be uninstalled which is good. Memory and Storage: There is nothing much to talk here but numbers in most of the reviews so i tried to blend it in like other reviews at which i failed. Internal Storage: 32GB External Memory: Expandable upto 32GB with micro sd Asus Cloud Storage: 5GB (Could be upgraded to 50GB or 500GB with paid subscription) Total storage for phone: 69GB The list ends here for most of the phones but it does not for this one the Station Dock houses 2XUSB 2.0 ports and a memory card reader. The USB port is compatible with a USB mouse, although i am yet to explore the whole lot of possibilities I am pretty sure that it would support an external hard drive. The final verdict about the device is, its a great device if you are looking for a new product with multiple uses. All the data could be integrated in one device and could be accessed via different platforms which gives a unique user experience.

  • Any users of this phone who can comment about - Lagging of the phone for Office application / general surfing / medium usage games like Temple Run etc.? - Can I use both tablet and phone together? - How good is the keyboard? - Is Android 4.4 kitkat gonna hit this device? - Is there a real GPS (not A-GPS) in this device?

  • I have a Asus a66 padfone 32 gb.asus is a good brand but there is a some technical problem.and still work with 4.1.1 please update latest virson of android.in asus a66 there is a notification light but its note working....and some time phone will switch off automatically.so i request to asus team pls solwe this problem.

  • I am using Asus phone, its good instrument but services in India are pathatic and frustrating

  • I've had the Asus Padfone for about 2 moths and I have to say that I'm very pleased with it. It's true that not every app will survive switching between the phone and the station but nevertheless the fact that I can do that - change from a small, handy smartphone device to a full laptop-size devise while retaining all my apps and data and settings. Something hard to obtain with any other device (especially at that prize level!) It's a pity that one cannot upgrade Android to its newest version (or maybe it is possible, and I simply don't know about it o_O?) Another great feature is the additional battery in the docking station! When I use it I sometimes get surprised by the fact that at the end of the day I still have a nearly full battery on my phone. The design of the docking station is what needs working on, though. The volume buttons are in such a possition that I constantly press them when I hold it with both hands and when it is plugged in I need to rotate the screen upside down to be able to use it relatively comfortably. That is more - the lack of ports in the docking station is a scandal! What difficulty was there to make a connection between the ports from the smartphone and some ports in the docking station? Overall... great concept! very usefull. Some minor mishaps. A MUST HAVE if you want two devices without all the hustle ^_= Cheers! tJ

  • Just install Adobe Flash using sideload. APK can be download from official Adobe website.

  • better dont buy this kinda of cellphone. very2 poor after sales service. This phone have many disadvantages. for your info, this cellphone was 'copy' from Samsung S2. better think!i am really regretful bought this rubish stuff.

  • Better dont, their ASS very poor. u cant even get new replacement if the phone facing thhe problem although u complaint it more than 4 times, although under warranty.

  • When the phone is docked into the tablet station, the phone/tablet combination can connect to the internet via the phones cellphone connection.

  • iam sure i will buy this phone if i had extra money hahahahah.

  • May I ask some question? I wanna buy this gadget, but I'm little doubtfull. Is the docking same or can work as a tablet? Can we connect to the internet without wi-fi? (Like connect the docking with the sim card), and last, can we make a call or message from the docking/tablet? Really, I give my thank.

  • Its an awesome phone I should say. After using it for 6 months, I don't find any problems except docking it to the padstation. Once awhile it has problem connecting to the padstation which frustrated me. Other than that...its as smooth as it should be.

  • I really like this one better available in Cambodia. Sopheak

  • At present I'am using Asus P752 running by windows 6.1 It's very helpfull and i 100% satisfied.Cause too old i wanted to replace with new version but with the same function that helps me alot.the seller installed me pocket islam and audio notes.can this programs install to the padfone.please reply.

  • I bought Asus padfone on last September 2012. After use it in about one month,it shows the real problem. The connection of the bluetooth suddenly lost while I was talking. I've sent it to the authorised service centre which is about 450km from my hometown. After 3 weeks, they sent it bapck to me. I thought the problem solved already but i really disappointed, the problem doesn't solve at all. New problem comes, the padfone sometimes 'coma ' itself. I've sent it back once again to the service centre, but this time through pick up & return service. After 2 weeks waiting, I received it back. The Bluetooth problem almost solved but the other problem (coma) remain the same. While it is in coma mode,it still can be called by someone but it doesn't ring at all,the screen /light doesn't blink. When I push the power button, the padfone doesn't on although the power button had been pushed for more than 10 seconds. To power on it again, I've got to pull out the battery first and insert it in, then only could on it again. Really frustrated having this kind of gadget.

  • I own one my self and it's the best buy ever. I don't now what people do wrong when they are having problems with the phone/table. the phone is more stable then other android cues of the clean system in the padfone. And most of all it might be a small battery in the phone section, but it works wonders. The specs says 63h battery time with the phone and tablet. It's more like 70h. If there is problems with this product, then it's an user problem.

  • Can we make/receive video calls from padfone Surprised to know of the poor services in India. Seems it was a wrong decision to buy this product

  • Don t get tab only apps even if phone is on tablet. Is Google blocking padfone or myvpadfone is broken? Battery isn't very good, but think the second one rise better, and if third one ever come then it should be superious. Have anyone having the same problem with tab only appd?

  • Trully nice device ^_^ 1520mAh for phone - for 2 days but 6600mAh for tablet.. great :) i have Samsung 10.1 he have 7000mAh - its enough for 3 days :) All In One... smart

  • i'm just asking.can we use the tablet if we slide in the phone but not close the lid??similar when we lost the lid.do anyone have this experience?

  • You can you Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 screen protector.

  • Why would they leave out wallpaper scrolling. It works on other Asus tablets, how come not on the Padphone 2? Bluetooth 4.0 is fantastic but not compatible with any bluetooth headsets or car radio. Metadata just doesn't transfer because either the players available on the Play Store do not want to update, or Google are being egoists. It works with the Google player, but who wants to use that, the sound is ghastly. After using it for a month I have noticed that the switch from phone to tablet is not as smooth as advertised. It is not instant. Something weird happens that every time someone phones while I'm listening to music the sound goes low afterwards. The Padphone is a great machine, but not worth the price being charged for it, as it doesn't yet reach the standards of the big boys. I would like to try rooting one but don't know how as no one seems to be interested in it, but a rooted one could fix the software shortcomings. A final thing is that after updating to JB, battery consumption is really bad, with both phone and tablet not lasting more than two days. Phone alone lasts about a 12 - 13 hours. With sync working every hour, the phone being relatively untouched.

  • I know right so cool and practical

  • Yes you can

  • i bought this incredible phone ...it looks better than in the images but now i am looking for a screen guard for the phone and i can't find a specific one ... can someone tell me what athor phone is similar to this one so the screen guards will be simmilar... also i am looking for a flip case for it...pls help

  • Do not buy any Asus mobile phone in India, there services are pathetic, I bought their mobile phone and cheated twice in their authorized service centre. Raised the issue to their MD in India but no action. The phone is good till it is working. Do not expect any services if it develops fault.

  • good

  • i really think that the 2 expandable memory is very useful.the phone will carry my entertainment files and my dock will carry the working files. can use the tablet to watch video and play game. while the docking station when connected will be my mobile office. even it is heavy, this is very functional. especially i dun like to carry all data with me all the time, as i dun mix play with work.

  • Hello, guys please help me. I see the padfone has a micro HDMI port so can I connect to my TV with a HDMI cable? I hope so... :) Thank you!!

  • sg handset here. cannot make normal video call. can only video using tango, skype etc apps

  • The front camera got bad quality (0.3mp) of image, and it cant make/ receive any video call. And the back camera quality also not that good even it 8MP. ther feature ok.

  • Can anyone help me with price of this phone in Asia

  • Can this padfone make or receive video calls?

  • it's actually very close to vanilla Android with a few tweaks on the notification bar....

  • from a single phone, dock it, change to tablet, add with the keyboard, change into laptop o. o wow ! 3 in 1 with that kind of price, wow

  • No other android devices can change my mind

  • can someone tell me how UI is compered to other android phones like Samsung, HTC

  • Yes you can call and answer phonecalls whitout unplug phone. Whit handsfree or whit speaker or whit asus stylus handsfree :-D

  • I have a question.. If I use it as an tablet, and the phone is plugged in, can I still answer a call if I receive one, or do I need to unplug it first?

  • I have a question.. If i use it as a tablet, and the phone is inside the pad, can I still pick up the phone when I receive a call? Or do I need to plug it out first?

  • The tab is useless without the phone....it seems the tab is just a platform so that u'll got a bigger screen when u dock the phone... In easy words, its like a shell wihout the turtle.... But if u already have the phone, go for it...

  • is it possible can buy separately instead 2 device, i only want the tab?

  • You can buy padfone from ebay.

  • Phil, where did you bought your Padfone? I've alredy searched lots of sites from US and i didn't found.

  • Just got mine yesterday, just what I was expecting, nice phone, excellent tablet ( but much heavier than my old Galaxy tab 1st gen ), and the keyboard dock is brilliant. I love it.

  • 1) The phone feels pretty solid. The casing's back is pretty solid and roughed to avoid slips. The Station feels a bit less solid, but it's still a strong plastic - Just don't be throwing it around. 2) It can be a perfect tablet substitute. Once the phone is in there you work entirely in "Tablet mode". Bigger resolution, tablet related settings so on. It'll be like having a real tablet. There's a tiny bug that has made once (out of many hours of using the tablet mode) the phone not be properly recognized by the station and I had to plug it out, close some of the ongoing applications and plug back in, but no more issues. 3) No, you can use Wifi and Mobile network. On top of which the signal is slightly boosted by the antennas installed on the Station itself. 4) That's the tricky question. Personally I got the phone/station with 10% discount so it made it a fair bit more attractive. The Station is a chassis which without the phone its useless so its value is limited and the phone itself is only so more powerful than say a Galaxy S2. I think the real question is: Does the adaptability that the Padfone provides useful for you? Do you want a phone AND a tablet but only plan on using each one at a time? Then yes, totally so. I have different times where portability is essential, but I enjoy the adaptability that I have in having a bigger screen for ease of use, and being allowed to use the original Transformer's keyboard means adding in productivity into a solid package - if with a cost. Think you'll make your money's worth?

  • You need to put in the phone. Without the phone, the tablet is just a dead screen. It has no CPU or anything so it's useless by itself.

  • I have a question! The tablet works alone or need to put inside the phone to work?

  • I have to hand two weeks, everything was fine, just quickly run out of phone battery consumption. But is still consider greater than my old phone.

  • Padfone isn't just a phone, it's tablet too. you will get smartphone, tablet, and docking keyboard. it's perfectly transformer 3 gadget into 1

  • The Padfone is excellent....

  • why is the padfone more expensive than the nexus 7... the nexus 7 is equiped with a quad core and is a tablet... i wondering if asus is using china products

  • Asus padfone had been launched on Sep 18,they told media product available within a week, but Asus show room persons told me till know they not about Asus padfone product details and price. Asus must change their launching strategy.they first make available product within a day of launching, because Many Asus fans in india plan to buy padfone first day of launching but after padfone product availability Taking another week that make us very sad

  • The Asus padfone is really great to me because.ASUS team just blowed their mind to think creatively and bring us the product of feature in reality world. they work'd hard to make their dream happen really.Padfone is really great because you can have 2 devices in 1 data plan,it's really a great looking padfone they just combined a smartphone into a tablet.the phone is the power of the tablet.for example, you playing a Angrybird and want to continue the level and feels like need a big screen, you can insert your phone into the padfone station(tablet) and continue playing the game without need to restart i like this feature. ASUS always build stronger and durable product.the tablet contain a big capacity battery it can charge your padfone 2r3 times in single charge of the Padfone station and its really a handy padfone and a great piece of gadget for travelling. i am looking to buy this thing in feature. just the Padfone and the Padfone Station. not recomended the padfone station docking it can transform your tablet into a pc. but its a waste.

  • I'm very glad to have this padfone today, and really a powerfull phone and table , loading browsing and software is very fast so far, without doubt its a good product. I'm glad to have it , Asus done a great job again. I'm have use product quite some year. Asus haven't let me down yet. Keep the good work .

  • At last Asus padfone come to india,Asus padfone officially will be launch in india on Sep.18, Asus padfone available in india within a week of after launching.

  • yeah...unlike apple n samsung product, people doesn't know a thing about asus....they are attracted by the ads from apple n samsung product without knowing the REAL VALUE of Asus products....

  • Hi all, Just to share with you all. The padfone station is come together with the padfone. It can both WiFi and 3G. At the moment this phone still can't replace due to not able to support word and excel. Hopefully Asus can improve on it.

  • waiting for my padfone today....hurry up my padfone come 2 me....

  • this is megazord phone

  • It's on Android.

  • Awesome gadget ever...very smooth operation with ICS...the best is, the ability to convert into large tablet really make me crazy...good job ASUS...

  • Why no review, GSMArena?

  • just asking..cant padfone upgrade to windows 7?

  • I'm Confused just clear thing if i buy this padphone does the Table Docking Station comes free with it or you will have to purchase it separately? even the keyboard docking station? please enlighten me....and also the connectivity is it true that when the phone is placed in the tablet dock you can't use the WIFI? i mean you have to connect via 3G only?

  • Hi, As I am planning to buy this phone, please tell me following things:- 1- How is the quality of its casing, for both Pad and Phone. 2- Is it really a substitute to Tablet? 3- While using it with Pad, can we connect through Wifi only. 4- In your view is it value for money?

  • it is a good phone, light and size is good. never regret the change from iphone.

  • Please do keep us posted on how Asus fans in India are handling this enormous pressure.

  • the word is ''cheap''

  • Can't the price be a little bit of chief.it should be at least 200Euro

  • Yes. The padfone station is an optional extra. But I suppose it also depends on what is available where you are. Some sell both, and some sell separately.

  • can we buy this mobile separately

  • Hi all, im planning to buy phone mainly to use for internet, i think this asus padfone might come in handy because it have the tablet which can make the screen bigger and its hsdpa its high, but can i use the phone as modem like sony phone which use sony pc suite, which is more suitable padfone or sony acro S, please guys i really need help here, THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • CHECK THIS OUT

  • The camera is OK. I'm not imaging expert but the photos seem fine to me. I can say that it's not as advanced/fast as the camera of the HTC One S tough..

  • Battery of just the phone it's hard to say because I always end up usinG it on the padstation in every battery cicle, but I would say definetly less than 24h with the following use: data/sync ON, lots email/text messages, a bit of web browsing. The phone gets a bit hot when in heavy use.

  • yes you can print with dedicated apps from manufacturers 2 or 3 usb ports and you can use usb stick of course no dvd drive can be used as far as I know (drivers are not impleùmented for that in android) and if u want to really replace your laptop better think twice for what u used your laptop, for instance you won't get MS office on android tablet, some suites but that can not handle all complex functions of ms office (some rumors are saying it's on its way...but not for the moment)

  • what is the battery life on padfone, only phone in real? for normal use. :) thanks. :)

  • asus fans in india lossing their patience because of delay for launching padfone in india . asus men no one tell exact launching date in india. friends if you are know about padfone launching date india, kindly reply me

  • Can anyone giv me info about padfone's camera performance and its image quality?

  • I have been using the padfone for one week now and I got to say it's better than I expected. The only thing I dont find so good is the backdoor of the padstation, it seems a little fragile. Everything else works just great and the padstation is not as bulky as it seems on the videos. It's agreat buy for people who are looking for a tablet and a smartphone because you get 2 devices cheaper plus the savings from the data plan etc. If you have any questions just ask

  • Anyone who have used this Padfone before can you please share your experience? I have been waiting for GSMArena to do a complete review but sadly, they are not interested in ASUS product. Would gladly appreciate it thanks.

  • have been using this fone for a few weeks now, apart from the sometimes faulty battery icons, the fone is very snappy! and i disagree that it's a midrange fone. the S4 working underneath ROCKS! and for the concept itself, yup, i agree that it is heavy but it's a very fine concept! i've seen a few Moto Atrix guys who tried a similar concept likes this. so for those naysayers, try it first b4 judging it, the concept provides flexibility, and it delivers! when u hv 2 gadgets, u must bring the both of them out everytime, with Padfone, u HAVE the option to only bring 1! that's flexibility!

  • please gsmarena give us review for the product especially the camera

  • I don't think this concept will catch on. The phone it self is OK but defiantly not high end. The tablet is WAY too thick. When you can use HOTSPOT instead I would rather a better phone and something like the transformer prime.

  • Kindly read my post again. I did not said that everything is cheap. I said that in comparison of Asus and Samsung, the latter is the "cheap" company - Even though the Galaxy S3 is by no means a cheap phone at all. I don't have an S3 though, nor plan to, since it's an expensive phone carrying features I'm likely not to use. The quad-core is cute, but too much power that not all applications are ready to use, wireless charging is moot for me, and there are S2 variants with the NFC chip so all in all the S2 is more than sufficient.

  • its too pricey

  • This may be a stupid question/s 1. In laptop mode can I connect a printer (I've never printed off an Android device) just like with a windows laptop? 2. In laptop mode can I connect an LCD projector (RGB adaptor)? 3. In Laptop mode can I connect a usb stick and or an external USB drive (How many USB ports does it have)? 4. I assume there is no dvd drive, can I connect 1 through the usb port? 5. Can this device replace my windows laptop (Dell inspiron) if not what are the drawbacks?

  • Firstly start to use not very use to it as a iphone user but learn from ppl how to use andriod this is the best phone ever

  • Please review let phone

  • I like the look of the software, similar to Nexus but clear weather and date etc

  • best phone ! ihave used so far!! heavy usage does create battery issues! but still got the dock station to charge my phone!! using whole day, while having 20% charge i put it inside the dock n bamn!! its back in action! n about the speed! its 4th generation snapdragon dual core 1.4 krait! real beast! trust me , the performance will blow your mind! last but not the least! phone+ tab+ laptop! dats the coolest thing u can have in this century! so cheers !! :)

  • why everything for you is CHEAP??? do you have a SG3?

  • Batt does last a day just on the Padfone alone, thats with alot of bluetooth along with browsing texting and calling. Got home and its around 23% left, this is set to High performance mode too so powersaving or balanced mode would be better I assume :-)

  • It's spelled "Asus". Asus is anything but cheap, being Samsung the cheap company. That's why you get better prices in comparison to the competition while still having somewhat decent equipment. That said, the Padfone per se seems somewhat at par to the S2, better processor still mind you, but the core feature of the Padfone is the concept of integrating with a screen to form a tablet, on top of which you can add a keyboard dock for a netbook-ish Android system. No other phone offers you this, and that's the selling concept. If I just wanted a smarthpone? Suppose I'd get the S2 though. Cheaper, powerful enough, the S3 is clearly overpriced and the quad-core CPU is for now somewhat overrated and unnecessary.

  • 1520mAh battery for 4.3inch 540 x 960 pixels Super AMOLED, can this Asus Padfone battery last a day ???

  • I like the concept, but would prefer the phone to be smaller, lighter and dust/waterproof. The HTC Hero I currently have is already at the top end of what I consider practical for a phone wrt size. My ideal phone has a 3" or smaller screen and weight below 100g, yet has the performance to match a notebook when used with an external screen and BT mouse/keyboard or docked in a pad-enclosure at home.

  • The top half of the phone looks practically like an iPhone.

  • Exactly

  • was a iphone user,as for the padfone. it is quite good. the first few charges did not last too long . but after that it could be quite long. by the way synchronizing the contact from iphone could be difficult. due to the different contact format. but other than that its an fantastic phone.

  • hey u both gigs of asus and samsung...... Both compnies are great in their product........samsung is now master in mobile and smartphone.....than asus is a huge foot in computer world....... I use galaxy s2 and i also use asus motherboard fitted pc.......both were great..... So dont be stupids friends

  • Hooops still no news about price what the hell is going on why more time to take to publish amount of the full set. Is this something joke or what ?

  • That's where the Gorilla Glass comes in.. I have a phone with gorilla glass which i normally keep in the same pocket as my car key, no scratch whatsoever for the past year..

  • does any one knowa its price without the tablet

  • Galaxy s2 not being a good phone...man are you joking....why did samsung sell 20 million units and the world made it the phone of 2011.Please read some news before you make a fool of your self:)

  • welll, design is between iPhone (top) and Blackberry (bottom) :D Though, I'm interested in this phone itself, without pad.. How good/bad is the phone device part? Someone?

  • will the phone's screen get scratch in the long term due to in/out of the tab?

  • Something like HTC's One S...

  • those who praise sgs2 must hav nt known abt supremacy of asus in technology world

  • How much for the phone, dock and stylus in Singapore without contract?

  • I like asus mobile good

  • imagine this kind of phone+tablet+keyboard form in windows8 OS with RIM's BES feature... that would be "don't need anything else" business tools!

  • i don't understand how this is related to the review of asus padphone. you don't like s2, fine with me. but don't give it a bad name.

  • This is the future folks. It runs a lightly skinned android - no more touchwiz or sense lag. No more dongles to get internet on my laptop, just use the cell internet. You get USB ports for flash drives and mice. And to top it all off, phone tablet and keyboard have MASSIVE extra batteries. You can charge the phone by putting it into the tablet. Incredible battery life. Runs dual core krait. Performance on par or better than one x, and s3...about the same price as a decent laptop for whole set

  • Are you from the moon? This phone is attached with a pad to make a Padfone. Google Padfone to see how it works. Samsung is good but it's not used to compare in this situation. BTW, Asus is not a cheap company, it's leading the world in making mainboard.

  • I tried the phone at the telco. Pressed the 'enter' key but it does not go to a row. The only way to go to new row is auto-wrap at the end of the current row as you type. Anyone able to confirm and get around this problem?

  • Hey samsung fanboy stop your drama ! Even samsung galaxy sIII is nothing against Asus ! I am using Asus laptop and i can say samsung is nothing against asus :-) but one problem go asus is poor marketing and ads :-(

  • S2 is not a good phone. Not now, and not when it was realeased. And just so you know, the dual-core Krait in this one is equal to the quad-core in the s3. Good for you that you like your S2, but there's so many other and much better phones out there.

  • I am a great fan of Asus. Their products - particularly laptops are great, I should say best. I used different laptop brands, but found Asus as most convenient, easy, with flexibility of operation, and also hardy. The same should be true for its phone... would try surely...

  • yes, the s2 is a good phone, and last year there weren't much competitors in the android world, but this year is going to be different, you have LG stepping up to the plate with their 4x, the one X is really nice not forgetting sammy's SIII, upcoming note 2 and of course the padfone, asus isn't cheap, they probably made the motherboard sitting in ur computer right now, and their laptops and transformer series really outshines the other computer manufacturers.

  • windows 8 as it stands is like what windows 95 used to be. there is a lot of promise but as the 3rd party softwares are still far from being compatible with win 8, the transition between win 7 and win 8 UI will leave quite a few users frustrated. i like their vision with win 8 but it is still a while off.

  • Asus is much better than Samsung. They use better materials, and their display is a super amoled made by samsung. Asus has many more awards than samsung. go check their website.

  • Asus is not a cheap company, use google and you will find they make some of the best and most awarding winning computer motherboards

  • this is no way near of galaxy s2.......s2 is far better ......and noumber one phone last year.......this phone is manufactured by cheap compnay like asush..haha

  • want windows 8 in the same way....

  • was released in Singapore on 02/06 and the cost of phone and dock on contract is $398 with free Bluetooth stylus. The concept works beautifully and love the fact that I can do lots of typing on the pad and when I'm done, the info goes with me wherever as the brains are in the phone. Please remember that the dock is simply an extension to the phone and as such is not meant to operate seperately. I have an iPad and it frustrates me no end that the info in there stays there. The keyboard dock stays in the office for serious typing and when traveling stays in the hotel, presentations are done on the pad, and ppl are constantly wowed by the concept.

  • PadStation require Padfone slot in to function, it has no CPU by itself.

  • What about European availability?

  • which countries we can buy it? and for how much? and one other thing does it have nfc or no?

  • I want to know exact date , you will release to asia market like thailand or cambodia....., I want to buy

  • yes this is awesome pretty good performer MWC was great this was better then s2 & it's battery backup ah awesome!!! though tab works only if phone inserted in tab which sucks though there is a keyboard which is great as well as both pad phone & keybord having a battery. if only pad used it increase battery to 5x if also keypad added then goes to 9x great idea thanx asus plz release it in india. plz give me thanks if u liked this comment.

  • K-kuno is asking about the pad working phone, no. The pad is just a screen, no processor. To the multi-core discussion, it is relative. If the software is ready to take advantage of all cores then its a plain matter of adding up the total speed. If the application can only use one core then that means that the remaining power will be left idle or at best to be used by other applications. In the latter case, it is the higher clock speed that matters.

  • Did this got USB connection ex like upload USB photo like computer

  • Just reached Singapore. Nice!

  • Just reached Singapore. Nice!

  • Yes, is has Bluetooth with A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). Bluetooth profile that allows for the wireless transmission of stereo audio from an A2DP source (typically a phone or computer) to an A2DP receiver. Pad doesn't work without phone.

  • does it have bluetooth? and does the pad work without phone ? please answer .

  • I'm wandering if this phone will ever come out.

  • In my opinion the call vibration is quite weak or my pad is broken. I`d like to know what other users think about it. In the other hand it is incredible thing

  • more photos of padfone:

  • Does it come with NFC?

  • wrong Zippy, tegra 3 and snapdragon s4 are identical in benchmarks... tegra 3 is a little bit better in gaming nothing more

  • It is not precisely slower. If compared to the Tegra 3, the dual core Krait is indeed faster. This product really got me curious. What is left to see is price (it must be cheaper than buying a phone and a tablet separately) and how it actually works. This is the kind of thing I wouldn't buy before reading a gazillion reviews first.

  • That right there is my next phone! The CPU is a bit slower than a quad, but who cares? My current HTC Legend runs smoothly despite the ARMv6 at 600 mhz in it.

  • Dude we are in MAY how the hell will it be released in April, May comes after May. And look at the last post I made "Ok everyone if you are waitting for this you'll wait even more than you though, I've contacted the support of Asus here in Portugal and as it seems the phone will only bee available on Q4 at least here in Portugal"

  • PadFone and PadFone Station will be ready to ship from April this year.

  • Her you go boys ...!!

  • Ok everyone if you are waitting for this you'll wait even more than you though, I've contacted the support of Asus here in Portugal and as it seems the phone will only bee available on Q4 at least here in Portugal

  • Perhaps, ASUS should change their name to "Doneno" I thought the combination of phone & tablet will be ideal for my sales team but every time I called their AUS Office and ask the question, When will it be releases I get "done no", how much, "done no" will Australia get the padfone & tablet "Done No". So I simply gave up and bought another solution for my sales people. If consumers can purchase Samsung or Apple products within 30days of any formal announcements, why can't Asus do the same. Any excited enthusiasm or interest in the PADFONE back in January has been lost to a "Done No"

  • no nfc? :o(

  • Some additional specs: Bluetooth 4, Corning Gorilla Glass, Full HD video recording and playback, dedicated mini-HDMI port.

  • If windows OS more confort as a laptop with pad

  • S4 is faster than Tegra3. More cores doesn't mean it faster, it the architecture and process efficiency that counts.

  • What is the benefits of useless cores for an OS like android?

  • Hey buddy, number of cores doesnot matter like number of megapixels doesnt matter, search google for "tegra 3 vs s4" and you will find which 1 is superior. And i can also tell you some phones with lower megapixels cameras can blow away the higher ones. Same goes with battery life. You think more cores=less battery life, but it is more cores=more battery life, just search and read before you post anything wrong...

  • Nvidia Teggra 3 is better than S4. because Teggra 3 is a quadcore processor. S4 only Dualcore processor. CMIIW

  • Is asus padfone better than huawei ascend d quad...!!!Please...tell me...!!!I think that it is value for money but still I think because of hd screen....and quad core processor used in huawei ascend d quad...!!!So, please, kindly tell me..!!!

  • Sir, when and where found the Asus FoneTab phone Please Tell me?

  • which is better ? "Nvidia Tegra 3 or Qualcomm Snapdragon S4"

  • guyz,! which is better ? "Nvidia Tegra 3 or Qualcomm Snapdragon S4" and why ?! =)

  • This is 1 Hell of a phone... This is the future yet we get it today. Thanks a lot ASUS.. U have done a brilliant work

  • Pad is only HDMI touch screen with additional battery. actualy all kit let have 104 hours of TALK TIME !!! i wondering what time shoud have on sleep time. maybe half month ? this will be like old nokia. once u charge ir u can use that phone whole month rofl

  • Phone must be in the back holder in order for pad to work.

  • Hey it going to be out 4/20/2012

  • No, it will not work without yhe phone.

  • It will only work with the phone attached

  • I knew that bro. I'm pertaining in the whole package of One X not on benchmark alone. ONE X was revealed, had very good review much more on display, camera department and some of its features.

  • >$980 is too mach for it! HTC One X about $750! Nope. $980 - full configuration with the smartphone, PadFone Station Dock (keyboard) and PadFone Station including the stylus / Bluetooth headset.

  • The processor inside ticking at 1.5 ghz is fabricated using a 28 nm process. Older s3s and arm9 are fabricated at 45 nm. actually the s4 cores are 60% faster than the older s3s and arm9 cores... so actually it is much faster than the old dual cores

  • Hi, I have one query: will the tablet shell work independently like normal pad (on wifi) without the phone inserted ? Or it will activate/work only if the phone is attached ?

  • hey dude, haven't you seen the benchmark of s4 and tegra 3? read this before you comment =)

  • That price is for the complete kit. phone .tablet. keyboard .pen. the phone its self is about $610

  • I think phone alone can't beat S3, iPhone5 and One X. Maybe it can beat iPhone 4/4s. "But Iam pretty sure, the whole hybryd concept of Padfone will Beat all the Flagship smartphone, and even the new iPad. IMO... :)

  • $980 is too mach for it! HTC One X about $750!

  • ok I'll bite how will this top A galaxy s3 or even an iphone 5.... Hell does this thing even beat an i4?

  • You're drooling... Why? The specs are far from outstanding. Only 1 gb ram and only duel core and with only an average camera and a lackluster resolution. This phone shouldn't even be on the top 10 of phones this year.

  • i hope it comes in early April, cant wait any more

  • April is here! can't wait for the padfone to come out! anyone know the specific date?

  • 600 thats the value of the transformer prime... :S

  • I am drooling... :)

  • its i think 600 euro with the phone, tablet and keyboard

  • This is the special phone on world.

  • I hope the price will not exceed 400EUR with the station. Amazing device...

  • Defenitely gonna buy.. worth it if its 50 k around

  • Asus Padfone have amazing design, better than Iphone,Samsung

  • is this super amoled plus and what is the screen res on the tab aslo is the tab amoled

  • this look like competition to samsung s2

  • CPU = Central Processing Unit

  • No, it is a dualcore qualcom snapdragon s4 processor with two cortex a15 cores at 1.5 gigahertz

  • Padfone Is quard Core no Dual core ,Bluetooth4 And 17H talkin time

  • Hey, guys! Personally, I think that padfone is a step forward not just for asus but for the entire industry and I am seriously considering buying one for myself. I spent a little time thinking bout the cpu on this unit, should they instal tegra 3 or not but i don't really think of it now as an issue, not yet. I think that the next step from here would be mounting the dock on the new keyboard (the one that the new prime has or better) so it has access to the features that it provides and maybe in the future we'll see a next generation of padfone with grid processing so you can really say that you have combined a pad and a phone :D

  • That's really great thought and design and it will be the greatest if the pad is universal one that all kind of phones with all kinds of OS (Android, iOS or WP) can be put in.

  • & by the way people on "Mars" were more stable than you.. if wanna go there for rehabilitation be my guest..lol XD i am Asus well wisher!! Go Asus!!

  • what i meant was nobody(commercials, ads etc) exaggerated Asus that much to grab some big attention like apple, htc & etc did! yes i have spent 15 to 20 years on mars as well, what is your age? maybe among 30 to 40? i am damn sure you are older than me, after reading your reply i am glad that i am child! you have to grow once again maybe 80 years old to stay calm and clear other people views. see you after 40 years XD

  • Where did you live past 15-20 years? On Mars? ASUS is world leader in motherboard and graphich card solutions and in many more areas in ICT bussines. Their Laptops, notebooks, netbooks and LCDs are amognst the best in industry.. This padfone is one logical step forward.. You must be some child who recently changed couple of smartphones and now thinks he has all knowledge inthe world...

  • To be honest i have never heard of Asus until they produced this Padfone & other Tabs, i am deciding to get one as it hits the stores. But only if they put these in that: Chipset: Nvidia Tegra 3 T33 CPU: Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9 GPU: ULP GeForce. if they do that you will see Padfone in everyones hands.

  • change the photos..there are not real :)

  • The tablet is simply an "external screen + external battery" device so: Yes it needs the phone docked to function. If you need separate tablet and phone this is not for you. HOWEVER, this does come with a special "pen" with which you can pick up calls when the phone is docked on the tablet, so you don't have to worry about undocking it when there is a call. It's a very well-though design and it even docks on to a keyboard with even MORE additional battery. Just check out the YouTube video, it's really cool!

  • Only with the phone

  • can the tablet function on its own ? or it needs the phone inside the tablet in order for it to function

  • True, it will have the first S4 Snapdragon with Krait cores, not scorpion. Seems like Asus changed from Tegra3 to S4 pretty recently. Since they were the first to bring a Tegra3 tablet to the market, they must have had good reasons for this. Perhaps battery usage? @Asim: your dreams are 5x bigger then reality. Please substantiate your claims about Tegra 6

  • padhone is the gamechanger in convergence of mobiles, tablets & laptops. Now you will see the market flooded with dry(dataless) tablets which can be docked to any phone & keyboard.

  • yea , that´s right , they gonna use Snapdragon 4

  • check out this link for full information www.asus.com/Mobile/PadFone/#specifications

  • scorpion processors are outdated tech..... asus should've used krait processors to compete head on with tegra 3 chipset

  • can we use separately phone and tablet or we must attach phone with tab to use tab?

  • Padfone WON'T use tegra 3, it will use a dual-core (but as they say, faster than tegra 3) chip not from nvidia

  • After seeing the teaser ad for the Padfone, the combination phone, tablet & keyboard docking station in one device/OS in my opinion is the perfect solution for my sales team. Without going into details the idea of IT creating applications for just the one multi purpose device linked back to our accounting/logistics CRM system is very attractive. The question remains, when do we expect to see the Padfone in Australia for valuation and has ASUS lifted their game with ongoing support??????. ASUS, timing is critical as we are close to making a decision with another vendor/developer.

  • This phone has just made the smart phone technology even more smarter. Thank you ASUS!

  • Adreno 225 is not for Scorpion, but for Krait.

  • Specs needs updating. GSM version release is slated for April 2012. But I guess GSMarena has its hands full with all the new goodies from MWC :)

  • is it going to be LTE in Canada ??????

  • I was about to call you an idiot, until I realised your post was dripping with sarcasm, then I had a good laugh. Best comment all week!

  • Plz update info. u can get specs from official site. And realease date is April 2012/

  • I believe it will have Bluetooth 4.0 as well These specs seem outdated. I am hoping it will have NFC, then this will be the perfect phone for me.

  • the specifications on this page are out of date. Currently it appears the padfone will ship with ICS, an 8 mp camera and likely a tegra 3 CPU. It also seems like some Asus reps have been saying it will be compatible with the transformer (1?) dock but reps have been known to make mistakes about this kind of stuff.

  • Why Honeycomb? New devices are supposed to be carrying ICS. A put off.

  • 8 MP camera has also been seen in the newer pics.

  • And its going to use the T1 keyboard dock!

  • Atleast 10 MPixel camera is needed

  • These are old specs. New reports say the Padfone will be sporting Tegra 3 and ICS.

  • runs on adreno 225, course that would be 50% faster than 220s

  • Does anyone know the full specs for the brains of this duo, namely the mobile phone handset? All I can find out is that it has a quad core CPU and a 5mp camera. But that's not enough to convince me to buy one when it has a UK release date on 12/02/2012.... Information is power Dudes!

  • No Radio??? This might be a deal breaker. Hope they fix this b4 release.

  • Hi Bought Garmin/Asus A10 2 years ago, Great phone/ Magic GPS not totally AGPS, Android 2.1 and Limited Support for Android&GPS Maps, Recently replaced battery and hope Phone Doesn't Fail. Bought Samsung Tablet 10.1V, been sold down the river, by Vodafone&Samsung regarding Android Updates. Unless "Jonney Shih" can promise 2/3 years unconditional support for Android & GPS, WILL NOT BE BUYING

  • Personally, while this is such a good innovation, I will still wait for the tegra 4 tablets. They will have full hd screen resolution, extreme hd video recording, the tegra chip itself will have an 8 core processor and upto 64 cuda core GPU. As you can imagine these tablets will be amazing and the graphics will be on a par with the very latest ps3 games like Battlefield 3. These tablets will go on sale Q3/Q4 2012, so they are not going to be far away. By the way the tegra 5 tablets will be 5 times more powerful than the tegra 4 and the tegra 6 tablets will have twice the power of the tegra 5 tablets, which will be coming in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

  • Nope, the Tablet portion is simply a big arse screen and extended battery. all hardware functions storage etc are all in the phone device. think of it as a battery dock/screen

  • Just thought I would let people know that after doing a google search on this product I can confirm that this padfone will have a tegra 3 chip, so it will be on a par with the transformer prime.

  • it makes no sense for the phone to have buttons in the picture as for the padfone to actually work, both machines will have to be running ice cream sandwich. it would be better if the tab worked without the phone but it probably won't.

  • if it comes to the us will it be 4g LTE

  • now i wonder, will the tablet work without the phone?can both work independently?

  • looks like samsung galaxy s captivate

  • Seems like a handy design. I just hope I can still dock it to the transformer keyboard and yes, the camera flash is definitely needed. I am excited by the idea and hope its not too bulky a design.

  • Actually, i think is Atrix & Dock Concept, but Masterpiece'd And in USB/Bluetooth u can add keyboard/mouse Why they dont do it with keyboard with the 10" screen? A: Portability and Weight, simple dx

  • Asus! Come On! Put at least LED Flash to the Camera! Can use the 3LED-In-One from i9100? It performs nicely and is small

  • quad-core or dual-core?

  • Oh yes , 4g also. Thats all i got.

  • Talked bell insider today in canada. Release set for new year , 2.2 gig processor and 522 canadian dollars outright. Thats all i got for now but i will post more as i hear it.

  • processor? gfx chip? also demo videos show it running win7... why not?

  • A Gud..

  • The detail of the connectors in the silver part of the back is very good. Another variant of the Atrix! :P.

  • Price?

  • I hope asus padfone camera has a led flash ...^__^

  • thanx asus its realy awesome

  • ASUS Padfone looks absolutely awesome. It's the ultimate personal/business tool that I've been looking for. The device set for a Christmas 2011 release. Can't wait! :)

  • Looks awesome. Really like the phone storage inside the pad. Great innovation.

  • Yes, it was already announced but it is not available yet. It will be available first quarter of next year according to Asus company.

  • Asus are very robust and lasting so i think it is going to be greAt. but when it is released

  • i want buy, what can i do?

  • I saw it announced but I don't know where can I buy it , it released or not yet . and how much it is ?

  • have a feeling this pad will incur unseen wear and tear damage over time from constant input output....anyone else?

  • Can anyone tell me about the release date of it ?

  • I see this padfone is very good design and program. But why it have not Radio Function ? I think if this padfone have Radio and TV function, the padfone will be very popular for all user also. Thank you.

  • wow phone and tablet if this was samsung or motorola or htc it would difinrtly squeak apple ipad

  • Asia won't succeed. They think they can compete, after this many years, there's no way

  • it's two devices about here ?

  • good one

  • Nice! 5MP Camera is good enough but no flash!!!

  • Well this padfone will cost around $522.

  • I have an ASUS Tranformer and I love it. I got 3 ASUS products and they do what they say they do and work great. plus I got my 1st ASUS tablet 5 years ago and I'm still using it running windows xp. This Padfone is the answer to all tablet / phone problems great idea.

  • well i guess the pad will not work without the phone attached to it... it is the phone inside that would make the pad work.... the interface is coming from the phone the pad only contains the screen and the speakers plus the microphone i think and it has an independent battery... the phone is connected to the pad with a connector hihihihihihi... prince from philippines

  • I will get it!!!!

  • agreee, just make sure they all are 3D.

  • You do not need Padphone - you need Matreshka :)

  • U better make your own "great detachable" device. U can only do that with this great idea.

  • what price??

  • that must be quite expensive

  • Very interesting. Wonder how it will do though.

  • this is not the final spec. definitely they will have gyro and accelerometer.

  • this is WOW specially if the tablet goes handy ..fones will sell itself..what is the estimated price?

  • Looks like a audio Cassette Player from the 80s.....Ha Ha Ha. The designers at ASUS have tried to copy the Motorola Atrix dock concept.

  • Really awesome one .....this is what needed for a tablet that is an embedded smart phone....since the tablet cannot be handy all the time but smart phone can be....so this is the future of tablets technology...

  • Really Interesting and Creative

  • I like the idea, its greeat but the design is poor. go Asus go

  • Looks promising!

  • wow, my wait for Galaxy S II has not been done yet another great device to be waiting for... good job ASUS..

  • yes makes good sale.netbook plus mobile phone together. competitors will cry.

  • This is a pretty cool idea

  • I like this idea

  • looks good

  • Wow, this one really not bad, tablet with GSM voice communication really good, if don't have this function, why need GSM network? Many new tablet from other manufacturer really beautiful in design, but don't have voice communication function...

  • Nice device, might tempt me. However, there is no Google maps and navigation. If it does not come with maps and navigation, then I will not, I will not, I will not buy it. Please Asus, check your specs and include these. Sab - London - UK

  • not enough! i want it to be a 50" android-running touch screen tv, of which u can detach a 32" in case u need it in a smaller room, of the later u can detach that 10" one and lastly u can detach the 4.3" android device and put it in your pocket! now that's what i would call innovation!

  • hi this is girish i really like this handset, no issue with asus speed and function...so.

  • such phone withought gyroscope and proximity sensor what a shame

  • wat its CPU???

  • not bad?just this? its great design man,it has everythings you need.
