Asus PadFone 2 - User Reviews

  • Hey How I Can Put a File On " Root " Folder ? Want To Update My Padfone To 4.4.2 And I Need To Paste a File On Root Folder.

  • That 720p@60fps mode was indeed a very good idea from Asus. I wonder, why the Galaxy S4, which came a few months later with even stronger hardware missed it out. 720p@60fps requires the image sensor to read out 55296000 Pixels. 1080p@30fps takes out 62208000. With digital video stabilization in real-time and 4128×2322 (maximum 16:9 sensor area. Maximum 4:3 sensor area has y3096 vertical pixels.) still photo capturing during video recording, even while stabilization was enabled (surprisingly, Xperia Z captures 1MP still images during 1080p video recording, where every frame has the resolution of slightly beyond two megapixels. But those still images are not affected by video compression.), and 450p slow motion video recording, which does not happen in real time and also without audio, and requires the image sensor to read out 43200000 pixels per second, but proves, that the S4 is not limited by framerate. Surprisingly, the Galaxy Note 3 is able to play back 720p at 240fps, while the Note 4 is not (only in the fake slow motion video editor, which is installed there since Android Lollipop), while the S4 fails at 1080p@60fps. I have not tested it with 720p 60fps footage yet.

  • Is there a way to do that and how

  • Just exchanged battery in my phoneunit pf 2, and now all sound is gone. Any solution?

  • I had the same random restarting issue. I had a mate who knows more about the tech stuff update it from Jellybean to kit-kat & this cured the issue. Hope this helps you.

  • same here. even hard reset does not solve it

  • Recently i have been experiencing the problem of my PF2 restarting in a loop as soon as press the power button to lock or wake up the screen. It keeps on going into a loop until i hold the power button for long to switch it off and on again. but now it dose not work!!! Has anyone experienced the same and any fix recommendations?

  • I had no bad experience with this phone, it works perfectly, good sound, goods screen, good camera even compared with Samsung phones (it must be correctly setup prior to take the pictures), good and useful features, the mail works perfectly synchronized with my two accounts (professional and private). The battery is not the best one but it last at least for one entire day (24hr) and if I don't use too much internet (with just email, wireless and BT, it last almost two working days - we must restart it sometimes to clean the tasks he is doing on the background). The resistance is medium, it felt down for a couple times, the glass and the frame lukelly resisted all the times but when it was in my rear pocket and I sit down with it, it don't resist and started to do a short circuit and I must sent it to be repaired. Now it's ok again, workintg perfectlly.

  • Hi Harry, I'm glad to help you for your phone. A question... Do you update it to kitkat? If you do it, please write for me your experience. Thanks.

  • do you still use that phone?

  • do you still use that phone?

  • why it says now, HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 on 3g

  • Thanks bro...took it to asus center and they said its a motherboard problem which will take 480 SGD to replace. LOL...as well buy a new phone right. Hence didn't give my phone for service.. Instead using it as a full time tablet in the dock. When its docked it works fine. Thanks a lot!

  • This phone is worthless I paid $300 for it at at&t and 29 days later the speaker phone blew so I can't hear it ring at&t and Asus were contacted guess what no refunds And no exchange!!

  • Charging cable is also a problem... very hard to find the cable. Though it can be charged by samsung cable, it spoils the charging port easily...

  • you must hard reset it and factory reset needed. i recomand you to take it to a asus repairing shop to do it.

  • Hi All, Recently i have been experiencing the problem of my PF2 restarting in a loop as soon as press the power button to lock or wake up the screen. It keeps on going into a loop until i hold the power button for long to switch it off and on again. I did factory reset my phone but the problem remians. Has anyone experienced the same and any fix recommendations? I am in a dilemma now to go to Asus Centre for repair or buy a new phone?

  • The build quality of the phone is really bad and overall a "bad quality feeling". Problems with the speaker, camera and screen and I had to send it a few times to get it properly repaired. Finally I got everything fixed and sold it as soon as possible. I loved the concept and I really hope that Asus improves the quality of their phones. (I haven´t actually tried the never ones so cannot say)

  • I need a code breaker for what you've said

  • I love everything abt d fon xcpt d cam... it's got 13mp cam but d xlarity is not even conparable 2 samsung 5 mp cam fones.. is it d prob wid my fon .. or r all asus padfones d same kind?? Kindly do help

  • Its a good phone. I own a Asus Padfone 2. The only problem is with the battery. I bought it nearly a year ago. The battery capacity is just around 12-16 Hours Maximum. Charge dies fast it we use the internet.

  • Same here,my padfone iis crack and the keyback is nit running. i cant find screen its really frustrating

  • I really love this phone and it's my favorite but my screen is broke and I can't fix it because there is no LCD screen available in my country (Philippines), I bought this from Singapore so please make the spare parts available here so that I can use it again. Thanks!!

  • please add the review for the security too. the phone not suitable for business use. 1. after encrypt, cant be decrypt. 2. did not support sd card encryption 3. setup the mail exchange on phone, the mail application intermittent no respone

  • Yeah asus i just broke mine today

  • I want some one help to fix my problem with asus

  • asus is anew product but the station is not charching and the camera doesnot display videos what shall I do

  • I completely agree. The dust problem is a design flaw, but they would not cover it under warrenty. So i opened it up and cleaned it myself, so now my warrenty is void. Now half a year later the screen has died. Everything works when in tablet mode, but the phone LCD is not getting a signal. Really disappointed with the build quality. At first i was in love with this device (despite obvious lack of build quality), but now after all this i'm never buying an ASUS phone again. Too bad other manufacturers don't produce these hybrid devices, i really like the form factor.

  • best spec ever until now 2014(tablet), fast fluid and powerfull camera, have no problem so far use it.

  • how do i get the back cam to work again my front cam work just not the back one can anybody help with this issue

  • Worst phone i ever bought... after 3 months i had dust behind camera and external speaker broke down.... fixed within the waranty, 6 months later i again had a lot of dust behind camera, headphonejack got loose so it randomly activated the google search thing, fixed within warranty but when i got it back everything was fixed, but the external speaker was broke again?? wasnt even broken when i sent it.... the vibrate function only worked when i put some pressure on the phone when holding it... i took the back panel of and it wasnt even screwed tight... NEVER BUY ASUS PEOPLE SERVICE IS OK BUT THE QUALITY REALLY SUCKS....

  • My padfone 2 IMEI suddenly became 0. Anyone come across this issue before? If so, any solutions?

  • Please do it new PadFone 3 with this specs: 1.Smartphone.- 5 inch FHD - LTPS 2.Tablet.- 12 inch FHD - LTPS 3.Memory.- 3 GB RAM 4.Chipset.- Snapdragon 805

  • Hey, It got released just yesterday (they took the end of Q2 seriously, haha). You have to manually upgrade it tho. You can look on ASUS' facebook page for links, or go to support.asus.com, search padfone 2 - go to the drivers section, download 4.4.2 upgrade under "Android OS" at the site, then you have to extract the compressed file, and copy the "ASUS" folder to the root of your internal storage. Then remove the cable, and a notification should pop up that a new upgrade is available. You should back your data up first though, but mine kept everything without syncing. Hope this helps, and enjoy the marvelous kitkat on the PF2!

  • is kit-kat version release yet?

  • hello "Image Stabilization" feature is the camera?

  • I love the Asus padfone butI got it overheated and it shut off on me what do I do

  • Scrappy phone. The phone function is really sucks. lost calls in the middle. Signal getting lost even in the center of city with all other phones working. repaired twice in a month. third time it broke with touch screen and costs 375Euros. instead i will buy cheap phone worth 375Euros that works

  • Why Asus don't upgrade OS to Higher version such as 4.3?!! For example Galaxy S3 announced such as padfone 2 but now you can upgrade it to 4.3

  • my padfone 2 cannot open until 3 day. my padfone and pad station empty of batery. why its cannot open while its in charge.

  • wich usb-driver is available für WS 2000 (SP4)and the padfone 2 ? ASUS supports only from XP or newer.

  • itzz good.. ididnt face any problems last 9 months... :) thanks asus...

  • Padfone 2 has GLONASS support but it's not mentioned in the specifications like other phones that also have GLONASS support

  • bought this padfone 2 and only after one week and 3 days, it gets really hot when attached to the station plus it wont boot even after charge. won't recommend to others. very dissappointed

  • How to upgrade the OS????

  • Incoming 4.4 upgrade fw promised. Asus announced it will be released in Q2 2014

  • All you have to do when the PF2 is turned off and failed to turn on, is to press the power bottom continuously until it work again (this could take about 1 min.) I have a question; my LED notification is not working, Does anyone know how to make it work? pleas help me.

  • i think the desigb is really awesome, the phone feels really great in the hand

  • This device really has some issues. Everything is great except for the fact that (before some updates) the device turns hot even when running light apps, and I also have experienced failure in boot ups (like stocked in the Asus logo). There was also this time that it does not turn on anymore. Here's what I did: (I know it's a hardware problem but this simple thing to do does cost nothing and it worked for me) 1) I left it charging with my PC (USB port from PC to PF2); I left it charging for about half day; 2) I also charged the tablet for about 1 or 2 hours; 3) I inserted it in the tablet, pushed the power button down for about 10 seconds, then it turned on; 4) once turned one, it rebooted, then it failed to boot again then it showed a prompt saying something like the device failed to encrypt the data (something like that) and the options are to reboot or to restore. 5) I chose restore, it deleted all my data, but my phone is useable again. After this steps, it still went on restarting by itself. But here's what I did: 1) turned off the phone (removed from being docked). 2) make sure that it is fully charged 3) boot up to fastboot menu by pressing the decrease volume rocker and holding it down before pressing the power button. 4) i wiped the cache first, then installed the downloaded OS from Asus website (please google the step-by-step process of this as it is very long). so far, i had no restarting problems anymore. It's more than 5 days now of continuous usage. Hope this helps you guys. Good luck.

  • you have to hard reset it from boot menu and it's ok

  • Jan05: phone went dead as a brick Jan06: took to the service center (SHA-PRC) and warranty expires based on the S/N (manuf date Nov2012). I called hotline and they granted me a 3 months offset, so requested them to notify the service center. Hotline called me back and told me that 3 months is not offered to purchases from Taiwan, as I received as a gift on Mar2013. Jan10: Service Center informed me that the cost to change the MBoard would be almost 2,200HKD. New Infinity cost around 3,500hkd. > Take your conclusions!

  • At first i did have issues with speed typing due to its sensitivity. But after i set the touch and hold delay in settings > Accessibily to "medium" or "long" my typing seems to improve. Setting it to short does mess up my speed typing.

  • my padfone2 is not working now, cannot switch on , i bought only 5 month , what can i do now !!!! really sick of it . drive me crazy !!!!

  • I have the same problem. Did you solve it and how. Please help me!!!

  • So this s me typingsin tealet, th ouc senssity is aful. I only se e ablet to watch films, apart fom that its litealy uselss. The hoe itsself is azing, o faults....yet, dropped it a number of timsan fred the worst bu all fine, as yo c see the tbet itelf is good fo nothing.

  • A piece of shit, I've bought it for about a year, but it turned off twice and never turned on, I sent it to warranty and in both times they replaced the new motherboard and battery and sub main with new ones. it has good spec but does not has quality. and also I lost all my data all my videos and photos and videos.

  • been using this phone and its tablet dock for a year now. zero problems. not one. i did drop the tablet and damage the screen which i have now repaired myself. 100% good phone and very reliable. phone itself has survived a number of drops. asus competitors posting negative comments likely to bolster their own business. very dirty, will avoid samsung & apple as you are likely culprits.

  • Been using this device for almost a year. Sent for warranty repair for 3 times due to phone restarting, OS corrupted and motherboard failure. Precious data/files lost after reformatting it. This device is innovative indeed but its problems are too much to handle. (Wondering if i can get a refund...sigh)

  • What a nightmare ....the worst decision I've ever made in my life is to buy this phone . The function and capability has no question about it is one of the best but it just can't last even for 6 months !! Mother board shut down twice can't turn on and change the mother board twice !! and asus can't retrieve all my important data!!! Idiot !!! I lost all my photos , video , documents , contacts .....after asus replace me twice the mother board n it still faulty here n there.....got too much issue to mention about this phone . Whoever thinking of buying this phone please don't do it u will felt cheated !!! Worst phone ever !!!

  • I bought the 64GB padfone 2 (together with the docking station pad) from Taiwan and it worked well for about 8 months. The charging connector is very flimsy. I think the charging connector must have a design fault. Never in all my years of owning any mobile phones (Nokia, Blackberry, HTC and Samsung) that a charging connector is so flimsy and 'broken' within Sometime the phone freeze but after reboot it it go back to normal. Soon after it stopped charging. Called UK ASUS customer support and he never heard of the product and said 'The phone is too new, so you will have to paid us to check what is wrong, than after they will tell me how much they will charge me to repair it' The phone is supposedly in warranty. I was told it have 12 months when I bought it in Taiwan. When I log the issue with ASUS com they said it was 'local warrenty' so given me a number to contact 0800-093-456. That number was not contactable outside Taiwan. The company acknowledge there is problem with their phone and but trying to contact them to get your phone repair or replace is impossible. Never buy another ASUS product again.

  • Are you still interested in getting the station?

  • this phone was released same date with nexus4 which got android 4.3 running. why still 4.1.1? Asus software staff sleeping? what to do? buy infinity and wait infinitely....?

  • It should be running android 4.3 by now. Don't know why its not upgraded yet. User Paid Top price for these gadget, this padfone beats (Won in high Price category) buying An individual Phone & individual Tablet.

  • If Padfone 2 is not upgraded up to JB4.2 till 4.4, why should us consumer buy that padfone infinity? Coz it might not get JB4.3/4.4 after years of android 4.4 or 5.0 released. Unless Custom firmware is out first by independent developer, even a used htc one x is same value (price) with a padfone2 (Phone only - not comparing padfone include with tab). Curious??? since one x only 1gb ram & slightly dated CPU+Adreno225. Coz custom firmware developer still support that phone.

  • I just love this phone, great benchmarks, good battery life, great screen quality, best phone i´ve had so far, and by the looks of it, i´m not gonna replace it in the near future!

  • Thre concept is great and unique, but the ball drops there. I purchased the padfone 2 in Israel, from a dealer at the International airport. Sadly, I cannot find any support, we don't have any reps here that give support, I called the companies I was reffered to, but they claimed no support. The unit cannot be charged with a regular car charger, I get a warning to charge only with Asus original charger. The micro USB plug is unique to this unit, it does not take a regular micro USB plug, like the tha others use, like Samsung for example. I cannot get any accesories here. Cannot find a decent user manual, it only comes with pamphlets that are actually "quick start". When editing the contacts, it works terribly slow. Again, the concept of phone/tablet is unique, great, but I'm a bit dissapointed with it.

  • Lovely concept. Good looking phone. Camera is OK considering it supposed to be 13 megapixels; The Nokia Lumia phones have far superior cameras.Very quick cpu the phone has such potential. Very sad that mine lasted about a month. Very sad that it took about a month again to fix. Very sad that the charge connector broke again. So it would not charge properly. Screen then cracked. Bought a replacement in white. Fixed it believe it or not. It then died on me. Sad. It feels like this phone was not properly pressure again tested. My old HTC Desire is 4 years old and I have to resort to using this again. It has it's shortfalls but at least it works. I read somewhere it(the Padfone 2) has been discontinued. Not surprised but this needs confirming. So much for my 400 UK pounds

  • I have dust issue under camera glass. It is not a big issue since I don't use camera often. Other than this, performance of the phone is very good and latest updates are very stable for me. I am using european build.

  • I used the phone for about 4 months without any issues. The phone tends to heat a bit if you are using it for heavy gaming and other intensive apps. Dropped the phone a few times, no noticeable damage. The charging port is quite flimsy, you can barely keep standard usb cables connected, and the pins get bent/damaged quite easily. on the plus side, the phone looks great and it's really smooth performance. call quality was top notch and I had no issues with the camera. battery life was pretty good, could easily manage over a day's usage. But then the phone got damaged, till this date I don't know how - I connected the charger and suddenly the phone got too hot to handle and switched off permanently. I can only assume all internal components got fried for some reason. phone was still in warranty so I sent it to the customer center, the service is ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS. It's been over 100 days since they got my phone and they are yet to return/replace/repair it. They are not even updating the status of the phone, they keep saying it will be looked into shortly. As much as I like the design and features of this phone, the trouble you'll go through incase something goes wrong should be enough deterrent to stop you from buying this phone.

  • Use it since Oct.12. So far so good and no big complaint. No repair so far and hope no need to. Only few minor issues on: 1) Easily heat up, especially when you output to HDMI 2) Speaker is not loud enough 3) Though you can use standard Micro USB cable for charging or synchronizing, it is a bit loose.

  • Been using for 8 months, was sent to service centre twice due to faulty. Scratches on display (phone) because of sliding in and out. Was told by Asus that there is nothing in this world is not have scratches. Fingerprint all over the screen even the specification stated very clearly that is anti-fingerprint coating. So, this is the first time also the last time for me for being Asus customer.

  • Sell the tablet to me if u aint using it

  • I'm from Finland, have had Padfone 2 now for 2 months and mainly without any problems. For me best system for now (earlier had Galaxy tab 2 + Sony Xperia Acro S) Best points are good camera, station/phone activity, and surely that you have everything in one device. Only negative point has been that battery wont last as much as hoped but in this case station helps lot while moving

  • As a follow up from my previous post. I have got my phone back from repair and it is a faulty main board. So they swapped one bad main board for another bad main board. The new one has faulty microphone component and another main board needed to be install. Outrageous to receive a faulty product and they claim to have fixed it. The customer service made a lot of false promise and said they will have a follow up but ended up not doing it. I will avoid this company from now on. The phone caused a lot with the tablet and now I felt cheated. GG ASUS!!!

  • same problem ..but plus my station is not working and my phone camera is full big dust !! i hate this phone

  • Had since December last year. It is a powerful phone, but since April had caused a lot of trouble. It was been bricked twice and OS unable to restart once(had to wipe, couldn't recover data). The customer service had been very slow even living in HK, communication have been poor. Beside the faulty phone problem and the awful customer service, the phone is a power house... Too bad though.

  • THIS PFONE SUCKS, I have never have so many problems with a phone, breakdowns and errors. It was send for repair once, but I just got other problems, like suddenly it freezes for the whole uppper screen so the touch cannot be used.

  • Epic life time, having the possibility to charge phone without charger (using pad station) is epic feature, im really eager to see kits by asus and 3rd party companies that will give more versatility to this device (keyboard and case perhaps). All in all, its a tech pearl you ought to try out at least for a week.

  • why it's not available in Egypt :(

  • Hey ! :> my name is david and I got my padfone 2 for 4000 at alina,se (im not for promoting a site but theyr great) the first thing im going to review is the keyboard not much to say but I am writing on my padfone right now it has a different design that works great and improves speed, second thing is protection it never gets warn pulled in screen and handy, still nice in the hand, metal (i think ITS metal) thing round the whole fone and ITS not connected to anything that can be broken inside the phone saved,me some times :) and the last thing is the Amazing battery saver ASUS power saver does things like turns off Wi-Fi when phone is resting and only the normal battery has SO much better battery time, far more better than iphone 5 and samsung s3/s4 its the best battery i have ever used and really short time to load your battery too.the phone looks great, to some info im a 13 year old boy who is right now writing this review while im sick just because i am so happy with this phone and wants other people to know how great it is.classes easily out samsung, apple and HTC any time (tried em all) thanks :)

  • Non removable batteries? Annoying, but alright. I plan on buying this phone. Are there any issues with it other than heating and relatively bad customer support?

  • I had this phone 7 days, and I had problem with ear speaker. It seems to be not clean while making conversation with someone. Is someone else having this problem ?

  • I'm a Padfone 2 user in Singapore. I got the phone under a contract with Starhub in December 2012 and have been using it for around 7 months. I think I can give some review based on my own experience (Recenly I dropped by phone, screen blackout, no crack, still running on station and I'm sending it to Asus service centre while they have really bad reputation. All the best to me) 1. Camera - So far no camera dust problem for me. - Quality photo under certain condition eg daytime and outdoor. Indoor photo quality is kinda meh but still considered as ok. With sufficient sunlight: Indoor: 2. Lag - Not so much of a problem. When I have lots of apps running and installed it lags a bit but it's really smooth overall 3. Heat - Heat yes. There's a metal line around the casing it can get really hot but I hardly notice that nowadasy (probably get used to it) 4. Battery - I believe all smart phone roughly have the same problem: if you have 3G on and have bright screen display then yes it consumes battery really fast. - You can use the station to CHARGE (you can turn off the charging option though) the phone - No it doesn't take 8 hours to charge it. It can be charged as fast as the battery is consumed lol 5. Port problem - Found no problem with the port? 6. Repair - I do agree that because this is not a commonly used phone and Asus is not a brand which produces mainly mobiles/smartphones, it'd be quite difficult if you have a problem with that (not as common as Samsung or Apple) and need to exchange/fix the phone. :/ (Also take note that I'm referring to Singapore) Conclusion: I bought it to try out something new. Since I'm not very choosy so I guess there's no problem for me. The only reason I wouldn't recommend people to buy is because of everything after-sales: since I heard so many bad comments. I am heading to service centre in these few days so let's hope for the best. C'mon Asus do something

  • What about camera dust problem ?

  • I have been using it for 6 months and I have never felt any lag.. HEAT is a big YES. It gets heated pretty quickly. I got a new case and I am not feeling the heat on my palms much now eventhough it can be pretty hot on the edges..

  • Hi guys! I would like to buy only smartphone without station. So, is it good or bad phone and his performance? Is it lag or heating ?? Thanks guys!!

  • I love it when I first find and see it through this gsm site. I hope it will be the best screen display as I hope from my previous samsung galaxy s2 phone. While my proud is quite seen such my nokia c5, I'm still love it and seems originated. The word originated I mean it has a neutral applicators for people and it's the most convenience and satisfaction it's among as it's best. I know now nokia has back downward nowadays but I feel amongs many confusing chipset, I'm still hold into my originally non nokia-belle in it's chipset. For almost new years after, I realised that many phones are quite possible to suit me like my previous s2 but result i have crack and rust beside the phone because it totally cheap plastic to me. But it different than the samsung galaxy ace it it has a nice plastic body it different from an expensive to the cheapest phone that sold in world today! My comment on padfone 2, I have an Asus Transformer Pad TF300T not 3g and it has a 8 MP camera, it so satisfied me altho it doesn't have a LED flashlight, it already give me a favor. For instance, every phone camera has their own specific qualitines, rather you just buy it without unknown the spec of the phone. Like HTC One, it has a blinkfeed and zoe I need to try it. Because the next phone I really need to buy. But I do really love Asus Padfone 2 cos of it screen display just it's only corning gorilla glass 1 than HTC 2. And I scared Asus didn't have any mechanist repair for programming and spareparts. But I still really support Asus no matter what from my Asus pad and also my laptop. But next thing I best bet for mine myself is HTC one. I don't know what's the quality of the product and what's the best for me. It's important! Just in case I have like spell with this HTC One as the best! GOODLUCK TO ME! :)

  • I am Aghil.I am from Iran.I like it

  • No it's not. Are you talking about the phone or the tablet or both?

  • i bought it 3 days ago is it normal that it needs more than 8 hrs for the battery to becom full?

  • Hi LloydS, Actually it depends on how you define "VERY GOOD". If you compare Padfone2 with my 4.5 years old iPhone 3G, yes, of course both battery and camera are very good. But if you consider the price (in my case 7500 Swedish krona = 1100$), and if you consider the announced specification, it cannot even called bad! The resolution of camera is very high (13MP), but we all know that a high megapixel doesn't mean a high quality photo. Photos get very noisy with Padfone2s camera. To be honest, there are some good points: I very liked the concept of Padfone. It is an excellent idea, very practical and very useful. The screen of the phone (and not the station) is excellent, I can say better than iPhone and Samsung. It has very nice design and very good feeling in hand. But I wish another company made the device.

  • It's a quality phone, both camera and battery are exceptional!

  • Every thing is Ok as a Android phone. If your using more than 10 min its getting so heat. Battery also not good. Getting so heat with in a short time and battery 100% charging time is more that 3 hours.

  • You know...I have it and I think its great, I mean camera!

  • Im so confused. GSM says that the camera is very good but others are saying it's horrible. I'm hearing the battery lays long, others are saying it doesn't. Very confused don't know who to trust. GSM also said the battery was pretty good. I wonder if there is a problem with some of these phones. Only the service with Asus seems true as they never had good customer service anyone who bought gaming laptops from them ought to know.

  • Have had mine for 1,5 moths. LOVE the consept and general usability. Downsides found so far: - camera is crap compared to 3 years old HTC desire s that i had. - Charging Port is Broken! from pad after 1,5 mohts of normal use. Asus says it will not be repaired for guarantine! (i assume get some kind of quality with the money) - I have needed to make boot and erase the phone twice (recommended by asus service) in order to get it start normally and NOT to heat. If I had all the money in the world I would buy few in the stock and just toss the bad one for repair every now and then. Still love it. Only sad about the quality and Asus Service. -

  • 4G LTE ready, Cool!

  • Be aware of the port problems!!! Hopeless support. Have 2 phones and tablets, and 3 of the 4 devices have damaged ports after 3 months. One has been put in repair, 72 days later still not fixed. As much as I like the concept, I would advice others to stay aware from this phone until what I think is a design fault is fixed.

  • How can I use its NFC?? I tried with Nexus 7, GS3, Note 2... but none of them responded to my "Screen Tapping".

  • it is normal for it to heat up but the battery life sould be quite good. My one lasts for around 2 days if i answer a few calls, maybe some games etc

  • I knew it was the right decision to buy this phone, i am very satisfied it. The design is great, it feels good to hold in your hands, it's not a cheap plastic feeling and the backlight of the phone is great, even in direct sunlight i am able to see what happens on the screen without having to hide it from the sun. And now the reason i got the phone, the tablet! That has to be one of the most unique inventions in phone history but it is indeed a bit expensive. 95% of the timesi dock it into the station it works, however if it dont vibrate when you dock it there will be no reaction. I just unplug it and plug it again, then it works. Now a few disadvantages, when sliding into the tablet make sure there isnt any sand or anything in the dock because that easily leaves invisible scratches on the button panel on the phone (Not a big deal) but still. And it gets quite hot quickly but it is a quadcore after all and theres nothing to cool it so my shot would be that it feels like the metal feels hotter than plastic. But if you like the idea behind a phone and a tablet in one theres only one thing to say.. GO FOR IT!

  • TOTALLY WASTE OF MONEY. I bought my padfone2 four months ago and only could use it for two months. I broke the LCD screen around two months ago and thereafter it is in repair process and still waiting for the phone!!!! There are lots of other issues, the battery last only for daytime on normal using and 4G. The phone get very hot when playing game, sometimes you can't keep it in hand. The camera lens got dusty after a month + very low photo quality (don't pay attention to 13MP). And if you are one of those who like accessories, you will be totally disappointed; absolutely few accessories you can find for the phone and those few original ones are very expensive and not useful.

  • I bought the Padfone 2 based on the spec. My only issue before i purchased it was if i loose my money as a result of buying it from China. Boy did i underestimate the problems encountered as this concern was nothing compared withthe warrenty issues and the defect with the phone charging point. Although i feel it is my fault the usb connection constantly drops off as it is not a normal micro usb, so your tempted to push the connector quite hard to get it to stay in. In a moving car it is a circus act worthy of an aplause if you get it to charge. i have sent my phone back to ASUS which have a Holland base for repairs about 3 weeks now and i am still waiting for them to let me know how much the repairs will cost and when it will be sent back to me. Such a shame as it is a good concept and the phone is nearly there but i do regret purchasing it

  • I am using PadFone 2 for 5 months now and i don't have any problems with my device. Both the phone and the station are working perfect without issues. The battery last quite a lot. On the Phone 8 hours heavy browsing and if docked i get even more. The docking mechanism i working fine and now dust on the camera. Every device requires proper maintanance and care, if you are doing it right the phone is autstanding.

  • I've used PF2 now 4 months and just got it 3rd time to the warranty repair. The dock's "sliding mechanism" hangs often, and the plug thing in the end of the dock is not perfectly aligned. The charger's unique plugin broke after two months of use. The network problems... in the 4G area the phone uses nearly all the time Edge and rarely 3G, and very often the phone completely loses the network. Im pretty disappointed. **/*****

  • been using it for 2 months, nothing wrong. use battery doctor during charging, it last 2 days before next charge with 24hrs data on, average 3-4 hours internet & FB, check e-mail n normal phone call usage. as for camera dust issue, just use the dummy ear phone jack, solve the problem. the dust probably get into the camera through the ear phone jack. to me, great phone n also the pad

  • dont buy it.. loads of problems! starting from connection between both items, overheatingtill dust behind camera and everyday-new bugs... suppory is terrible.. most likely youf warranty doesnt cover repairs.. repairs cost about 200 quid.. it should be for free... pad has its own problems... omg so many problems for 600quid device... love the concept but hate how it is in reallife.. it seemslike50% of devices have problems.. its worse than htc one x had it in yhe beginning... regret my choice. not ssure if infinity is going to be better...

  • no video call !

  • Same thing happen to me, very poor after sales service. Same problem with padfone 1. Battery no longer lasting, not as what as prescribe in the specifications given. Really disappointed.

  • Can we use the 1.0 MP front-facing camera for video calls?

  • cant make video call is a big turn off !!! omg.

  • You are 100% right about the stupid ASUS support team, the time i am writing this my Padfone 2 has been to repair for now 32 days, still haven't got it back, called them twice, says too popular device doesn't have parts. Reason its in repair, i encountered with more than 10 different problems after 6 weeks of use.

  • just got it back from service center, after replacing the motherboard it seems to be working fine.

  • It's the CPU. The Snapdragon S4 Plus (the same CPU inside the Nexus 4 and the Optimus G) gets quite hot on every phone that includes it.

  • I am a supporter of ASUS laptops, bought 2 in 3 years, and recommended everyone in the family to buy their laptops. i used the padfone 2 for 3 months already, and i would not recommend it, sadly. a) it heats up quickly. [i have used other smart phones, this is the "hottest", literally] b) of the 3 months of ownership, it went back to service centre twice, and what is really frustrating is the "state of denial" and attitude of the service centre, the excuses given are plain stupid, like "you installed free games like angry birds that would consume a lot of power in the background even if you don't play it" - oh i see, how come the same games does not have problems on other phones? the birds are angry at Asus only? c) the biggest point that turned me off, and the reason it was back to the service centre was for battery problem -- battery goes down to critical level in 4 hours, on standby mode (mobile data on, but wifi off). after they finally reluctantly changed a new battery for me, it improved to 8 hours standby - even if you don't use your phone, you will need to charge it every day, and if you use it, you have to charge it every half a day, slight improvement of having a cable connected and having it charged every hour. overall, a big disappointment!

  • The phone does heat up quickly: 1 ) Even after 10 mins of gaming it gets very hot. 2 ) When watching or recording vwdios. 3 ) When connected to the station gets heated up quickly. I ask is tha: 1 ) software prblem. 2 ) Hardware prblem. 3 ) or a UNIT problem

  • The phone does heat up quickly..even after 10 mins of gaming it gets very hot and as u said when connected to the station also it gets heated up quickly.. but battery back up is good for me.. With full charge in the morning,i have 40 -50 % when i reach home at night. I will be on call for around 3 hours and some minimal gaming and browsing..

  • i've got a questions i recently got my hands on the padphone 2 ... am loving it ... but i detacted a few problems with the phone ... not too sure if its the phone phone or its just some programming problem... my phone heats up pretty quickly even when i am not dock in the pad ... the phone itself heats up .... my battery life on the phone ... a full charge will only give me 5 - 6 hours ... is this normal ?

  • Check out the conclusion page of GSM arena's review. It will be clear that a phone and a tablet combo will cost u more than the padfone2. Other advantages are 1. U don't need to have a separate data plan for tablet 2. All ur apps, music and movies will be in sync. U don' t have to download ur favourite apps twice 3. The station acts as a portable charger. U can charge ur phone with it.

  • Can anyone say what is the advantage of padfone2 rather than getting anyother phone and tablet. because we have two gadgets and we can work on both at the same time. and we can get good configuration with less price than this padfone. can anyone say the advantage please

  • You can answer in the tablet, answer in a headset or simply remove the cel and answer. :D I have it.

  • Hello what if i was on the pad station and i have an incoming call what should i do then? should i connect the headset to make a call or receive or i should remove the mobile?????

  • I bought Padfone 2 32GB. Works perfectly unless the speaker of station is horrible.

  • I have this padfone for 3 weeks, previously had Samsung galaxy S. While specifications and hardware quality specially camera is awesome, I think phone management software needs to be revised. Many basic features in contacts management and sms/callingeasily found in even cheap phones are not available here . For example ,sending business card or one contact toother persons through "send business card" feature is nit possible. Calling or sms among recent list of contacts also missing. When u open contacts u must push extra watch button for finding desired person(no default search box above contacts list). Overally the phone calling and text messaging are not user friendly. This features are above all others as the basic requirements. I hope that Asus will enhance all the features in upcoming upgrade to Jb 4.2. It`s a pity that this fantastic phone/tablet having such problems

  • I bought. I love it. Perfect.

  • someone know the model number of the padfone 2 with 3G 850Hz in the asus.com there are only one model and dont support 3G 850 plz

  • APQ8064 CPU architecture is Krait, is near the Cortex-A15 architecture, not actually the A15, but Galaxy S4 come with a Quad-core A15 + Quad A7 chipset, developers uses A15 to benchmark the phone, still can't beats Qualcomm down and the Nvidia Tegra 4 kills it in a second. Samsung or other two? I prefer others.

  • I think this is better than Iphone.. Its fantastic....

  • this is high tecnology!! no one best than this!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love it! Best phone on market except for I have some reception problems on 3g network, but it might be because I dropped it in a lake and it stopped working for a while :-P

  • Thats what i read in padfone forum. I am having this phone for almost 1.5 now. After reading the posts about dust on the camera i got a dust cap for the head phone slot few weeks back. Have not faced that problem so far in mine..

  • i have question from somebody have this fon is get dust camera lens for all padfone2

  • Worth to buy it..indeed the price are high for bundle package phone+tab..well iPhone are more cruel then others android phone still people buying it tho.

  • Actually note 2 Mali clocked at 400mhz which is faster then older Mali and s3..indeed Samsung use same name chip but inside it are different things. You can't compare Mali in s1 to note 2 Mali...lol

  • ah it's too expensive, prefer samsung than asus

  • asus you should make a cheaper version of padfone, like using dual core snapdragon s4 but keep using adreno 320 and plastic body. Its too expensive!!!!

  • No memory card slot and no exchangeble battery :( I hope thet until december Asus will improve it.

  • Yes it does have Fm :)

  • Micro USB is supported ! try again :)

  • I can confirm that PadFone2 has FM-Radio.

  • Can anyone confirn that this does have fm radio support?

  • Can't you just 3rd party install it like every other device? The last apk is all over the internet

  • It also broke my heart too. As I think there is something wrong with the cable that I have too. Can't use micro USB to charge the phone. Seriously disappointed.

  • Hi all, I've used this fone since launch 1st Dec 2012 and here's my findings after 4th month. After upgrade to 4.1.1, there is no sign of significant difference. When I decided to purchase a MHL cable, I find the usual USB which ASUS claim to be compatible however is very loose and even the usual USB charger has charging problem. Resulted in buying another ASUS cable which is more costly than normal USB cable. not to mention the 2A charger which I wanted a spare in my office. (SGD 65 incl the 3pin adaptor) Later, when I decided that the phone needs more juice, so I switched to fone priority charging, so that most of the power concentrates on the phone but it became warm at first then after sometime, it is always HOT. Following that, the phone hangs, lags and even the power button does work. There were a series of activities which I do not which one causes this, so I have do the factory reset to start all over again. Btw, I cant find padfone 2 MHL cable in the market. No suitable screen protector in the market too, got a scratch on my phone although I keep it in a pocket most of the time on its own and make sure there is no metallic or other object with it. This is a total waste of time and money! ASUS should go back to making motherboard and just do what it does best. YOU BROKE MY HEART, ASUS!!

  • Better CPU GPU than Note II. Note II has the same year old Mali GPU that it used on its flagships S3 and S2. Even the quad core Exynos it has is good for nothing compared to a dual core Snapdragon S4. Second thing is the RAM, only international versions on Samsung has 2 GB else have 1 GB RAM.

  • In Australia, you can buy this (phone only 16GB) for around $500-$600 online. I have seen $499 plus shipping. Pretty good and DEFINITELY worth the extra $100 over nexus 4.

  • just browse the web and after that you can ask ur question again!!! :)))

  • dears, do any one of u know how can i opreate direct WIFI as it dosent work even with other asus device, also NFC dosent work with other devices

  • I wanna buy a galaxy note 2 but i don' know that it has a better display and hardware or no the asus pad fone 2 has a better hardware? what's your experiences about playing games and browsing web and editing documents with this phone?

  • Mine works fantastically well in melbourne with an amaysim (optus) sim.

  • How to install software on desk top i tried for support

  • Saurabh--> Adobe flash is no longer avaiable at play store, you gotta get it through the sifferent website search on google= Adobe flash player archived for android. Then youl be able to watch all web flash videos.

  • Flash player doesn't load on ics version which I am currently using..so I believe this is not adobe problem but Asus problem..

  • I have been looking for a new Phone and tablet for a while now, i was thinking of the Note II and Note 10.1 but they dont come with enough internal memory, then i found this. It terms of concept it is awesome it dose everything i want in a phone and tablet. Only downside is the lack of SD card slot and no keyboard. The Padfone 3 is coming out late 2013 and if the specs are right i will get it like a shot. i think the Padfone 2 was let down a bit by not having the features i previously mentioned. Give this thing a Sd card slot, a keyboard dock and a stylus and you would have the best "Smart" device to date!

  • Does anyone have a problem of the phone staus became emergency call only after connecting to wifi and unable to use the phone even after power on/off the phone.

  • It works sweet in Sydney on Optus 4G LTE.

  • i bought this padfone 2 recently and it works perfectly. i live in trinidad, west indies. no regrets to date. had phone for a few months now. camera is exceptional, battery life lasts 3 days if just making calls and using internet. when playing games moderately the phone lasts 2 days.

  • is there 2 modales of padfone 2 ? some reviwes say it 3g network: 900/2100 and some say: 850/900/1700/1900/2100 i want to buy one and i need to know if it"ll work on my country (at the asus padfone 2 web page the 3g network say only 900/2100) thank you for your help

  • -1 point is missed is that the phone gets heated up quickly when inserted in the station. This is my first smart phone and I am not sure how soon other high end smart phones get heated but this phone gets heated up quickly inside the station than using the phone alone. - Battery: It is very good on paper and so far I dont have any issues with it. Even though I cant say how long it will last for so and so operation, the battery should last a day with moderate usage. Internet browsing and games will consume more battery as with any phone. The tablet has a 5000 mah Battery so u can charge ur phone with the tablet whenever needed. - Another disadvantage is that this phone does not use a micro USB port. It has a unique port and so its availability may be scarce. - ASUS provides only 1 cable and so u cant charge both the phone and the station at the same time

  • I got the Padfone 2 64 GB version with the station from Hong Kong and I have been using it for the past 2 weeks now. I will split my review into 3 portions 1. Positives - I have a white one and the looks are stunning ( though it is prone to catch dirt soon) - Jelly Bean out of the box (4.1.1) -The 13 MP camera is excellent in day light and it has lot of shooting modes and many options to play with -With 2 GB RAM, the touch and interface is pretty smooth - The phone itself feels very light on the hands and the tablet combo is also pretty light - The on screen keyboard comes with numbers on top of the alphabets which is very helpful( u don need to switch to the next set to type the nos) - The display of the phone is awesome - pictures and videos are sharp on the screen and movie watching is very pleasant on the phone - The Call quality is damn good and the loudspeaker of the phone is decent and the tablet's speaker are pretty good Negatives: - This should be the biggest problem with this phone. For some reason it does not detect wi fi signal strength properly. When I am near the modem, it shows full signal but when I am a little away from it, it shows only 1 point or sometimes even 0 whereas my ipod touch shows 2/3s or full signal. I have seen the same issue in Hong Kong and India as well. I am not sure whether it is a problem with all phone or not but I have seen people complaining about wi fi in some forums. -The Camera is not good in low light. The flash seems to be very bright but it does not have the impact on the photo. The photo looks dark. It could be a software issue and may be fixed in firmware upgrades - The resolution of the tablet is not as good as the phone. When you watch a movie in the phone and connect it to the station, you feel the images are not as sharp as it is in the phone. But it is not that bad either Some observations and things which i read on the net 1. Lets say u r watching a movie on ur phone and u have 10 apps running in the background. You connect ur phone to the station. The movie plays seamlessly and there are no issues. Then you click on the recent apps button on the bottom right, u get a message saying NO RECENT APPS. All apps in the back ground are killed when u connect the phone to the tablet. I checked this with ASUS service center in Hong Kong and they told me this seems to be an issue in all padfones and they would fix it in the next firmware update. But I was not able to confirm on any forum that this is an issue in all padfones 2.**IMP** This is something which I read on a forum and it seems to be an issue with all padfones. Dust seems to accumulate on the camera after a month or so. The dust seems to be going to the camera from the headphone jack at the top. If u open the back case, your warranty will be void. You have to go to service center every 2 months or so to get the camera cleaned up. You can read more about it on

  • I got it from Hong kong and it had JB 4.1.1 out of the box. But as soon as I connected it to Wi fi I got 2 firmware updates. So if update is available for ur phone u should get it automatically when u r connected to a network or u can go to setting -> about padfone-> system Firmware Upgrade and check if any update is available

  • I find the padphone2 to be very fragile and the casing that Asus provide does not provide much protection. I had my padphone charging with the casing and it drop from table high, and must have landed on one of the corner and the whole screen crack. Not only that, but it also stop responding. My personal experience with other tablet and casing, this padphone 2 is fragile and i regret buying it.

  • Hey, Where did you buy this padfone2 from and how much did u buy it for? Any import duties for india? Is it a good device and worth spending so much? Any problems related to hardware and network? Please advise. Thanks

  • Does Anybody know if this works well in Melbourne(Australia), with a Kogan mobile sim? I want to buy one but I am unsure if it will work properly.

  • If you have a gmail account, input all your contacts into gmail contacts, sign into the phone with the same account and everything is there including your calendar. Also if you loose your phone all your contacts are still there in gmail ready for your next android phone

  • it cant as Adobe have stopped supporting Android after ICS. If you search the we there are ways round it or use sites that use HTML 5 to broadcast videos like youtube. This is not the phone or OS fault its adobe

  • If its jelly bean flash is no longer supported. Its not google or asus's choice.

  • I''ve just purchased padfone 2 yesterday, went home to charge the station & it kept showing pic to insert phone which I was already in. It can't charged nor using it from START, brought it to the service center & it needs 5 working days for repair. What a craps phone is that.

  • n.b. gsmarena. The phone is 'not coming soon' anymore.

  • Hello, I purchased Padfone 2 and I have problems with importing phone book. more specifically, I import it either from mail account or from a file saved in the device's memory. at a certain time automatically disappears. few times I try to recharge it fails. Also, when importing it i get a message that the agenda is loaded on clipboard. I guess this would be the problem, but I managed to find a setting to change this. can anyone help me with a solution in this regard please? thank you,

  • I have recently imported padfone2 from Malaysia into India. My padfone2 is still having android 4.0.4 and there is no firmware updates available. I chked on net that jelly bean updates have been done by several users. How do i get Jelly bean update?

  • How can we play videos which require adobe flash player? Quite surprised that Padfone 2 is missing such an essamtial software. Anyone pls help?

  • super mobile

  • The Pad has speaker-mode when phone is inserted. You can also insert a headset into the phones 3,5mm and speak through while it's in the pad.

  • but I suggest you need to call the tablet with a bluetooth headset, it aint that bad!

  • buy it from ebay or look up at google shopping and it will work with att because of pentaband support.

  • both

  • have a question. say it is in tablet mode, phone rings, what am i supposed to do? take the phone out of the station or just answer the call by the tablet?

  • are you using that power saver mode? if yes, i think it disables your data while on sleep mode. try this ~> settings-> power management -> power saver -> power saving by scenario -> tap the list icon next to it -> on the list, scroll down to the bottom -> Uncheck IM & other apps using push notification. Once done, restart the phone to be safe. Let it go to sleep mode for 10 mins or so, ask your friend to whatsapp you. Lemme know if it works! In my case, it did ;)

  • already launched...

  • the whatsapp still delay. most of the time need launch the apps it only shown new msg. too bad...any solution expert out there? so far so good for this phone.

  • diamond can scratch diamond.

  • Hello can someone tell me where to get the version 3g hsdpa 850/1900 to work on at&t? becose all version are 900/2100 ,or not exist this version? thanks

  • If you do a bit of searching on ebay, you can find a 64GB one with the tablet included for around $900 AUD.

  • Does anyone know if it will be available in Australia?

  • hello my master card is ready to buy product from you but i don,t no how to buy this is my first time can you direct me.

  • when we dock phone into the tablet station an got the incoming call.. what we should do?

  • what about a phone made of diamonds?

  • technically nothing is scratch proof. it all depends on which object you scratch it with. for those who wear a diamond ring. nothing can be scratch-proof if you scratch it with diamond.

  • I love the design of padfone2 and taking good care of the phone but display isn't scratch proof too bad. Now some scratch is found since it has been using for few days. it's says it's gorilla glass display can't believed. Other things is ok.

  • Hey, Does this work in the UK? cheers

  • NOT scratch proof. I did not use screen protector as I wanted to fully appreciate the smoothness of the screen surface but accidentally scratched by unknown object. I thought the Corning Gorilla is scratch proof!! GOSH!!

  • you guys has notice there is no push notice for whatsapp and line?

  • This is not the full specification.

  • Easy: PadFone2 I had a Lumia 920 ONE day before sending it back. The difference in build quality is obvious. Have had my PadFone2 2 weeks now, and i just LOVE IT!

  • do all ur apps running in the background remain available in recent apps after u dock the phone into the station?

  • DNLA?

  • I`ve had mine for about a fortnight now, and im very impressed! Phone looks great, is easy to use, plenty of processing power, and best of all it has great receptionand clarity. Plug it into the pad, and it works deemlesdly. Its a nice, light, powerful tablet. Screenresolution isnt as high as some, but it looks great. I've also had two android updates, and a camera firmware upgrade since I've had it. It's a 10out of 10 from me!

  • I just got the 64 GB padfone + stattion. everything is good so far. But everytime i put the phone in the station, i get an error which says "unfortunately launcher has stopped". After that everything works fine though. anyone has any idea on why I am getting that error?

  • Padfone 2 is amazing invention, Asus know how to make such products but not good at all at promoting it and they are not alone in this all Asian based companies are far behind their North American competitors when it comes to launching new product. Asus need to put all their energy and money to promote this product this their moment. Padfone 2 has amazing battery life.

  • - ASUS PADFONE 2 CONS - * No removable battery * No Micro sd card * Voice level 65. No AC3,DİVX,MKV CODEC

  • No, the pad is only a big scree, more battery and much better speakers.

  • The pad satarion only works as a tablet with the phone attached.

  • I dont want too many features in the camera..i just want the photos i take to be of good clarity..

  • if you are for camera, try Sony Xperia V. it has more feature

  • I am in a kind of fix between 920 and padfone 2(phone alone) I know 920 has camera advantage and padfone 2 has android adv. I am not sure about the camera of padfone 2. For me camera is kind of important.. Feedback about the camera from anyone using the phone will be helpful

  • Can the pad station be used as a stand-alone tablet without the phone docked in? or it only function when it is docked?

  • Guys I am not able to decide between padfone 2(without the tablet) and Nokia Lumia 920. For me camera is important. On paper its 13MP but I would like to get a feedback from anyone using this phone. If camera is really good i would go for this..

  • This phone is a great phone. love the speed and performance but lack of something that quite important 1. cannot make video call 2. while receive message or notification the screen not turn on. 3. don't have flip to mute while receiving phone call 4. call log should merge with messaging log so can view everything in the same page 5. after end call shuold appear message button so can immediately send message to the person we just talked Really hope Asus will fix on these things

  • Awesome phone! It's fast, has a great screen, one of the best camera's and a solid body with good looks! Padfone Station works very well only the screen quality is not as nice compared to the phone, which is offcourse due to the relatively low resolution and therefor lesser PPI (pixel density). I find it unfortunate that Asus does not have such a big name in smartphone country as of yet because they really do have the potential as a brand and this phone proves it in my opinion!

  • Antutu on jelly Bean 4.1.1...!!! 21864 points , amazing fast smartphone

  • Can you buy the phone without the tablet?? And where is it being sold in the uk?? I havent seen it on currys or carphonesale. Thanks

  • Not in mine! The camera works perfectly and have a good quality!

  • Thanks for that, saw your reply just in time :)

  • The camera stinks really bad. I tell ya.

  • review please!!!

  • I'm seriously considering the PadFone 2 but I'm interested to hear your opinion of the quality of the photos. I know it's 13megapixels but I've seen reviews that say the photos have a 'blue tinge'. As I'm a photo enthusiast this is important to me. Thanks.

  • HSDPA 900 / 2100 work on UK network?

  • can't make a video call with this fone!! damn!!

  • in msia the price is rm2599 32GB.. i already have it since 3 weeks ago..

  • I notice that the specifications display two lots of HSDPA bands. One has only 900/2100, the other has 850/900/1700/1900/2100. Is there a difference in models for different countries?

  • Thanks for the review..still waiting for the 64gb in Malaysia...

  • Just bought this from DWI digital cameras, link below. Purchased on the 26th of December(public holiday), shipped on 2nd of Jan, received on 4th on January. I ended up paying $920AUD(64GB & Pad station) inc express & ins shipping with DHL. So I can vouch for DWI in terms of shipping of the item. The phone itself is great since I now can use the phone and not have to worry about it dying on me towards end of the night since I work 2 jobs. I am using it with telstra atm since it has LTE. I like the idea I can use the "pad station" to charge the phone when it is connected. You can actually choose other modes to balance the power when docked as well. The Phone itself is great and picked up the jelly bean update as soon as it was connected to my wifi. I used ES file browser connect to my other devices on my home network and streaming & copying works great. I get speeds upto 1.5MB/s when copying over wifi to the phone. The phone is nice to handle and doesn't get hot like my HTC velocity. It is speedy and responsive. I just have trouble finding accessories suited specifically for the padfone 2. The only issue I had was it came as chinese default but is easy to change to english, using youtube video tutorials. End of the day it is a smartphone so real use battery life will suffer since it is a very powerful device. But with the docking station makes it more bearable. And I can actually use it in the tablet mode as well so I don't "need" to carry another device.

  • Where can I get these phone is South Africa, it seems like the best phone so far.

  • Can you get me details of the seller in HONGKONG please...

  • Just bought it while in Hongkong. The price for Handheld is HKD 4298/4698/5298 (16GB/32GB/64GB) while the dock station is HKD 1700 if bought with handheld, or HKD 2100 if bought just itself. I'm super like this padfone 2, it will be replace my gnote2. The specs is super, the display is better than gnote2 in my opinion, overall the best gadget for now. :D

  • It cannot, otherwise why need the docking system.

  • any idea where can i see it in hand on display in mumbai...want to buy..any one who bought it in mumbai..if yes from where...

  • can the tablet play without the phone?

  • Its a great phone and gives hard competition to Samsung, HTC, etc. Do anyone tell me where to purchase it in India? And when it is going to launch in India?

  • so,it mean we still can replace the battery when it worn out??

  • I just wanna ask, how much is the real price in UK? Does it need to be delivered at home or you can buy it just like that? I'm going there next year, so yeahh.

  • sorry if this question is out of topic or what so ever...i'm just asking.can we use the original padfone tablet if we slide in the phone but not close the lid??similar when we lost the lid.do anyone have this experience?once again, sorry.

  • Cheaper price available on eBay, for both phone and station set.

  • Been proud owner of one of these beauty's since about two weeks now, nothing to say, just awesome really, my expectations were answered in all accounts. In response to the last posts, the camera films 60 fps in 720p, no problem there, and regarding the keyboard you can always use Bluetooth keyboard while Asus doesn't launch a specific one (i think they will). Only the future S4 can take this machine head on and surpass it!

  • How about keyboard dock? There was roumors about it in gsmarena, it will be realised or not

  • heard been released in Msia. RRP 2799. it comes together with the pad station.

  • Looking good so far. I'm wondering though if anyone is experiencing the same issue as me when it comes to filming at 720p at 60fps, i'm only able to get 19fps at 720p, tried many different settings and still only 19fps and it says 720p at 60fps but plays at 19, 1080p works fine with 30fps.

  • can someone tell me where can i buy this phone only...without the tablet...in malaysia...thankz...

  • How much were you able to get it there? Planning to get one soon as well. Would appreciate your feedback. Merry Christmas!

  • Can give dicount

  • Fastest phone with its APQ8064 quad core and adreno 320 graphics.Annihilates the S3,note 2 and one x+!The padfone 2 is also the first phone to use a sharp IGZO display and has LTE. Why would you buy any other phone?

  • How much you buy at lowyat?

  • If u guys got news about 64gb anyway at KL. post here ok..thx.

  • What is the best price in low yat plaza for padfone 2 16 n 32 gb ? The guy asked for 2799RM n seems a bit pricy what rates are u guys getting ? Will leave Malaysia tomorrow, need urgent info!

  • Just go to low yat plaza..i got it there..level 2..still in seal box..

  • totally agree!! this beast rocks!!!

  • why would that be? Cos i just received mine. Splendid device, previous phone was G Note.

  • You went to a Repair shop and expected them to have full phones there? You need to contact the retailer you bought the product from to get an exchange.

  • search for abg kus enterprise in facebook. he offer RM2500 for Padfone 2..got various phone to choose also. Recommend seller.

  • APQ8064 СPU and 2GB RAM its good, but 312 ppi pixel density... I'll buy it.

  • I was ready to buy asus padfon 2 but now I re thinking again.

  • All around the Padfone2 is good but still not no1. Unfortunatly Asus a bit stingy with the pad screen. If it has 1920 × 1200 Full HD Screen padfone 2 will be way on top of any phones & tablets available now. Than I will vote:95. 10 if the price is right.

  • just get one set today , really good ,beat i5 anytime anyhow...

  • wher i can buy padfone 2 in malaysia

  • hello, I need this phone with HSDPA 850 for use in Paraguay, where I can get? thanks

  • Was so excited when my Padfone 2 arrived. But after that was met with disappointment. The Padfone 2 I've received is faulty. Taken out direct from a sealed package brand new ASUS Padfone 2. That makes me wonder how ASUS did their quality check. Things get worser. Went to ASUS Service Center (Singapore) and asks for a one to one replacement but was turned down. The customer service representative informed that the don't do one to one replacement as they only have replacement parts. I further probe whether is there any way i could get a one to one replacement, repeated the same thing to me again - ASUS Service Centre don't do one to one replacement. Ask me to send the phone in for repair instead. It is a new phone and I have every right as a paying customer to ask for a one to one replacement! Real bad experience and i guess ASUS Padfone2 will be my last ASUS product i'll buy. I'll consider using ASUS product again only if it comes free!

  • I use this phone one week and upgrade today to 4.1.1 over air, all is very good, my best device

  • I own this phone about a week. The experience is nice and it now upgraded to JellyBean Officially. The fluid User Experience and battery performance is very satisfied where I been used it one day without problem and need to recharge. Nice job Asus.

  • Where can we find the best price for purchasing the Padfone 2 (16 GB) in Malaysia? :O

  • Yupss..u can't remove it by urself..padfone2 batery just like iphone..

  • Yes, via standard MHL adapter through the microUSB connection

  • is the battery is non replaceable???i hear the battery is semi replaceable...it mean we can replace the battery but not as frequent as possible and can't do by our own...we need to go to the asus service center...if i'm wrong, correct me... :D

  • Is this available in the Philippines?? ^_^

  • hello guys.. the padfone 2 has an hdmi conectivity..???

  • if this semester i score 3.5 pointer and above,i will get this epic phone... can't wait for it,and i will try my best in the final exam...everyone,please wish me luck...;)

  • Thx for the reply.. Woooooo urgently waiting for the 64gb ...^^ Than good bye to my Note ..

  • Yes its 32gb..I already have galaxy s3 & now i got padfone2..i try 2 make a comparison between this 2 fon..what can i say just goodbye s3!! N im gonna letgo my s3 soon..the performance, display n sound quality of this padfone 2 r much better then s3..the best thing is the quality n clarity of its speaker sound..its display r better then iphone5 retina display coz its super ips+ compare to iphone retina display just using ips led display..which means padfone2 r using super retina display!! then if ur battery r drain u can use ur padfone station as a backup portable charger for ur padfone..if u use the padfone with its pad station u can choose if u wanna use its battery life from ur padfone or ur padstation..so ur battery will never be drain quickly..PADFONE 2, U R AWESOME!!

  • Wtf 16gb 2799?? Dont ever buy from tht shop..rm2799 price 4 32gb padfone 2..but i buy direct from the dealer padfone 2 32gb for cheap price then i go to asus service center to check for its originally then i register the warranty for my padfone 2..seriously this new padfone 2 more powerfull then my galaxy s3..sory to say "goodbye s3" n hello! Padfone 2!! ;D

  • no doubt in terms of function padfone 1 has more. but i think this phone is already better than a lot of phone in the market.

  • wusz Good for u.. u got the phone ..its 32gb right ? Can u give us a simple review about the phone Speed.Battery life.camera.dock ..etc thx

  • just back from low yat plaza...got a shop try to cheat me...the seller try to cheat to me,padfone 2 16gb with price of RM2799...and it taiwan version...lol...don't buy there...the shop is just infront of asus service center...

  • Already buy it at low yat plaza best price i got rm2499..dealer price..

  • Here u go.. is PadFone 2 i saw it my self..but i waiting for 64gb ..

  • Where in Malaysia got sell Asus PadFone 2?? In KL?? Maybe it's PadFone 1 i think.

  • But only with 32gb...in Malaysia...i want the 62 gb...come on...

  • It's already available in Malaysia for rm2799(around 930USD) :D

  • Because it's not out yet. Check the status.

  • This phone now updates to 4.1.1.. Is google now good?

  • What are SS & EU stand for?

  • People who say you do not need replaceable battery are simply being naive to say the least. After 18 months batteries would keep less than 60% charge which is important for mobile devices. If you replace it yourself after 12 months, it is cheap, the new battery will have more capacity than the original one and thus extending the device life time. I believe manufactures are removing user replaceable components from mobiles, tablets, laptops, to force people buy a new device every year. They cannot deny that battery will last longer because they would not offer warranty for battery more than a year. It is time to EU to step in and take action. Also SS memory is another issue. Prices are fixed and expansion slots are removed from new products.

  • Sorry for the caps.. WHY NO ENDURANCE RATINGS / BENCHMARKS? The Galaxy S3, S2, S .. ETC are all mainstream and yet they don't even test the battery life/talk time/web surf time. I wonder why this device isn't treated fairly?

  • This fone is amazing so powerful performance i liked the idea of dock station

  • i 'll sure bye this one splly 4 its camera

  • Thanks for the info. Will for sure buy it.

  • European version is supposed to be released in December it will be compatible with Canada network.

  • Bro I'm pretty sure you know a lot about phones. How do you compare optimus G lte and the pdf2? And I'm also torn between the xperia v. But it's only dual core!! Please advice. You must be a sony fan!!

  • This phone is great, and have better in every aspect, but why dont you give us microSD card slot? why oh why?

  • even if it has very good battery life. being unable to expand memory is like using a iphone, and have to pay for all the data on the cloud. ok, i am being stingy for not letting the telco suck my money.

  • 1080P = 60 fps 720P = 90 fps!!!

  • You simply do not need a removable battery with this phone. It lasts 4 days.. which is about 3 times my iPhone 5 does, and 8 times what my SGS2 did. Please, before you ask, open your eyes.

  • I bought and tried on Bell in Alberta. No service at all. Not even LTE. Padfone 2 only works on Edge on Rogers and Fido in Canada. I have to return mine. SUCKS cause I love it

  • Thanks

  • Yes it does have a document editor. A full version of Polaris is pre-installed.

  • That site show much different specs than here. Conflicting specs...

  • Visit and find out where to get best price and deals for Asus PadFone 2

  • Other site specs do not show the 1700 frequency, and the official website shows a 60fps video rate. Can someone explain?

  • improvement 1.weight 2.camera 3.speed features gone with the weight. 1.(2x)expandable memory using SD and Micro SD 2.Docking station(keyboard and extra charging power) 3.removable battery so, do you fancy the weight and speed over the feature lost.

  • when the padfone is out people complain about the weight and processor, now i see a few things which is gone in padfone2, the expandable memory (one on phone and one in docking), the removable battery being another. ok, one might say the expanable memory is not important, but when one is travelling, these memory means you can switch your system into work or entertainment mode in a breeze. so, if you ask me, i think the padfone is better in all the function and mobility, while the padfone 2 is better with some other (weight, camera and processor). whether its worth to forsake the 2 removable memory, bettery, docking for weight , speed and camera. its very individual, but for me. i still enjoy to remove and plug the removable media into any computer.

  • great this is the best of the world goooooooooooooooooood

  • Your phone might not be supported by your provider. Who are you with? Telus? Rogers? Fido? Yea dude... you better watch out... I haven't seen this phone out in Canada yet. It might not be supported. If so, call your provider, and you will need to speak to one of their technicians, in order to get the codes for it it to work with your provider. There's a reason why Canada doesn't sell unlocked phones. It sucks.

  • I think be the next my smart-phone. Now i have htc one x, but i try to wait until this pad-phone comes into the stores...

  • I would refer to the official website rather than here. They even listed the supported 3G frequencies wrong.

  • The 3G network support on this page is wrong. According to official website: 3G : WCDMA : 900/2100 2G : EDGE/GPRS/GSM : 850/900/1800/1900, 4G: LTE: 800/1800/2600

  • Do you know if the phone has DC-HSDPA ? It says so on the specs , but it only says HSPA+ on the official website. It'd be super cool to have that since lte is super expensive in the uk

  • So can you record radio?

  • Battery is awesome.. Not sure where you heard otherwise. 4 days light use, data and wifi on.comparison, my iPhone 5 last 1 maybe 2 days max. Samsung galaxy s2 and one x only 1 full day. So no battery is very good, the best I have used and I've owned every iPhone from 3G. Also, Not sure if this is already noted about the padfone 2; Asus Padfone 2: has IGZO LCD!

  • My pad fone 2 LTE did not work I was with fido tried changing network setting blah blah bullshit . I ended up return that phone and hoping this phone will arrive to Canada sometime soon.

  • "Corning Gorilla Glass" - Corning Fit Glass

  • Hello. I'm also from Toronto and thinking of getting this device. Have you had any luck getting the LTE to work. Are you wth rogers. From what I've read the LTE on the padfone 2 is 2600mhz which is what Rogers works on, if I'm not mistaken. I was hoping it would work as soon as the microsim card was inserted and the phone booted up.

  • when this super phone come to iran . many people are watting for this . and what price ? thanks

  • we had a hands-on more than 1 month ago, can we have also a proper full review? It will be launched soon aparently on European markets and your reviews are always welcome before purchasing.Tkx a lot!

  • At Singapore here Padfone 2 was for sale since 22/11 but only black color available for now...check it on Singapore Asus facebook

  • Cant find better than this monster.....best for me! !! Have the best phone and tablet at the same time. Give it a try, and you wont be disappointed.

  • contact your network service provider

  • Hi I got Asus Padfon2 and it did not work neither 3G Data or LTE network at all.It was only on Edge Network. I really like that phone. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this issue CANADA TORONTO.

  • The processor is not Krait Quad Core. It is Qualcomm Snapdragon A15 and it is even better.. lol

  • Can you record radio? Im hearing okay results for the camera. And the battery Im hearing is horrible.

  • 4,7" --> 10" 4,3" --> 7" maybe Asus should consider about

  • Standard 1280x800 and additional battery of 5000 mAh It is nothing to write home about, but their plan was to make the whole package lighter than the iPad 4 which it is... IMO I believe that having a tablet with a pixel density a bit higher than my 14" notebook is a-OK

  • where is the spec of the tablet/pad? especially the resolution and battery spec.

  • is it support Google App.?

  • It's great invention.I worship the inventors's brain.

  • where you get your gadget?

  • Hi, I really do not understand why they make it so big...if you need bigger screen you have the Station...nice phone, nice futures, but to big.

  • This is a great offer now, I don't understand the delay in bringing it to the UK before Jan' 2013 (or Europe right now). 2 months from now it's losing it's edge and becoming an average phone-hardware with a tablet gimmic Now while it's hot the Padfone 2 can be a serious rival to the Samsung SIII/iPhone5 This is why ASUS should hurry and push for earlier UK delivery

  • when it will be available in Malaysia?

  • Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and U.A.E. This are the country that first will receive the "phablet", hoping in beginnings of December. Other countries only in 2013. If your are from Lux, just cross the border and buy in Germany.

  • PS Since this is not a big market phone and doesnt get the coverage it deserves,(maybe havent paid the MEDIA enough) I can give some follow up to this phone.. I took it off charger at 7 am, at 9pm that night... 86% battery left.. no joke. my iPhone 5 doesnt even last like this, and its iOS. My SGS2 and ONE X could not last 1/4 of this. Amazing. Standby is amazing. I had wifi and mobile data on the whole day, and used the screen for 2hours 20 minutes, 38 min of phone calls, nothing major.. but but 86% battery left on first full charge (2nd technically but first full cycle after the factory battery died). Quadrant score on ICS? 7631!! Please try this phone. SOund quality is amazing, and speed kills anything in real usuage. Photos are beautiful too. I want GSM arena to make a review to show people what else is out there so proud of Asus on this phone!

  • it does have a radio!!

  • This smart toy is about to be released before Christmas, and on January 2013 in other minor countries. The only preorder I found is available in Italy and Germany. So try to use uncle Google. Btw I love this thing :-P

  • Just ran quadrant! 7631 running ICS. This phone is a beast! it wont let me upload the photo onto the blog on GSMArena?

  • Does anywone know, will this phone be available in Luxembourg? Thanks

  • i am a big sony xperia smart life phone lover, but i am going to change and get a padphone2 soon for change, i already save mony for it. cant wait.

  • FROM CHILE: How I can buy this Phone. There' s not any link to web store or e comerce asociated..... :/

  • Definitely love this one (idea especially!) but unfortunately/luckily have to save some cash on motorbike. But maybe in the near future... ;)

  • if someone want to buy an android phone i think he must buy this one, its the best android phone in the market

  • Just check out what bands the Padfone 2 has and compare with the TMobile bands needed. Go to the TMOBILE website and look down the bottom of the fine print it will say it. Otherwise just type in 3g 4g bands for TMOBILE into google... Anyway.. go to About half way down there is a table. It says 3G is 1700 and 2100. 4G LTE is the same starting next year.

  • Completely different technology.. You have new A15 quad core with 320GPU.. then its got a much more bright AND accurate screen without that ugly blue tint. It has LTE as any new phone must. More raw Android experience. Samsung is an older phone (still quite good and current) but it will be replaced with S4 in a few months. If you want the station with one sim card.. pad fone 2. If you want the latest Tech maybe try SGS4. If you want an old phone that now has LTE get SGS3 or SGS2 LTE models.

  • they should change the name of the phone to infinity. Padfone is not a nice name. Infinity name sounds better to consumers. Tablets should be named Infinity 7 and 10 for 7inches and 10 inches variant. Then Infinity to thier phone with alphabets if they will build more than 2 phones. It's just an opinion. ^_^

  • Its great phone but according asus website this bends not on a list: HSDPA 1700 / 2100

  • are you sure of that? are you have official information of that?

  • If it's like the 1st PadFone , I'm using TF101's keyboard to connect . It isn't perfect as the original dock as the tablet is heavier than TF101 yet it fits nicely . Just that a certain angle , you will find the tablet tilting more than it should . Try Youtube-ing it , there are some ppl trying it out for 1st generation PadFone

  • I was one of them people that said i would buy it if it had a card slot...bcoz of transfering my stuff from my old android fone i could jus transfer the memory card...now im kinda not sure wat to do...as the samsung galaxy s3 LTE is cheaper and has card slot...expandable up to 64gb...if i do buy this fone it would be becoz of the pad station...bcoz i already have an extended battery pack...i dont know y they have to put doubts in peoples head...card slot...add...

  • Can anyone confirm? Is the padfone 2 compatible with 3G and 4G network in USA (especially for T-mobile).

  • how much will be the price in middle east with the pad??? And what the tentative date of release?

  • Its so funny reading GSMArena comments sometimes.. A new phone comes out and you have 100s of people saying "I was going to buy it but the battery doesnt come out" and meanwhile in reality the battery is crazy good and last maybe 16 hours of talk time, and recharges over 2 times using the pad. Then people say "I was going to buy it but it has no SD slot.." where in reality, how many people will need more than 16GB data in a day? You even get some cloud storage. If you think everyone uses SD card slots.. I know NO ONE that uses them, and I mean Peers at university, friends at basketball and family. No one cares about this.. if you can fit some mobies and apps great.. who honestly wants to sit there watching a phone for more than 5/6 hours?? Get real. You never were going to buy this phone.

  • this phone is awesome. My mum turned out she didn't like the iPhone 5 we got her, (blasphemy!) so I had to have a look at what to buy, for me it was either the ONE XL, the ONE X/X+ (either seems good) or this. I decided to go with this cause she is not some big user of internet (either am I) on the phone, so this is perfect. She gets around 1.5GB data on her phone, and she can now use this is TAB function with just one sim card, then when she's finished using it (and charging her phone!) she can take it out and use a cool android!

  • it support OTG on panel. and support OTG on phone soon.

  • If they won't release keyboard for the tablet I won't buy it :|

  • Good phone, but no OTG, OTG is evrything!

  • Seriously guys. This is by far the best build quality and the best value for money available in the market. I dont understand whats the issue with everyone for a keyboard dock. You just need to wait a bit. There will be plenty of options available. As for those wanting a stupid sd slot. Move on man. Majority of the best phones available dont have an sd slot. Buy a media player wid a 1 tb hdd. Look at what the objective is for this beast.

  • Is not compatible , according to spokesperson of asus in padfoneclub.com , the screen station requires 2 additional ports to connect with a keyboard like the first padfone . Asus should develop a new keyboard station for that, and this is not a priority for them. The satisfaction of thousends of clients is not a priority... that is fun. Our friends of gsmarena should talk with asus to clarify all whisperings about the keyboard station.

  • One of the best phones, i've ever had. Awesome!!!!

  • Is the keyboard special to this device? or is it compatible with previous ASUS devices? such as the Eee Transformer Pad series :S ?

  • Are you sure of that? about the keyboard dock station. I have not bought the padfone2 yet because that. is not negotiable for me buy it without the chance of keyboard

  • jellybean is going to arrive next month and the keyboard before xmas ;)

  • Could you be sure the phone is supporting AWS?

  • Well done ASUS. The saving is in not having to have additional sims and data contracts. Just please add card slot, and jelly bean. Truly innovative. From a die hard htc fan, this one made me stop and think. Love the LTE, and design. This innovation brings simplicity. One sim, one place for pics, cloud, one brilliant phone.

  • yes you can

  • And u can. But in Asia only. Total price will be higher though...

  • The docking station with extra-battery and loudspeakers is an excellent idea ! If they would put a keybord to it - well, that would be the egg of columbus !!! That would be the NONPLUSULTRA !!! THEY HAVE TO DO IT ! IF NOT, IT WOULD BE STUPID !!!!!! Saludos Wolmex

  • You can do this, but buying them separately will be more expensive.

  • there is no way that de keyboard dock will be possible?. Asus dont say anything? On the padfone club, an supposed spokesperson of asus say "is not possible" . Read it and comment Thanks for all

  • how come? it's not a necessity, but an additional expense

  • I know this sounds stupid, but I wish you could separably buy just the phone, and then later on buy the tablet.

  • If you want the best phone, LG Optimus G is your answer.

  • Totally lost interest after I found out it had no SD card slot. Good bye Asus.

  • Gsmarena, some good advice. In video resolution bracket make sure you put detail info like slo motion recording and framerate aswell etc. U like?

  • I want a keyboard dock! hopefully with a full-size- SD slot and -USB port, and -HDMI. Padfone 2 can be a real pc killer, and if this one don't turn out to be the pc killer I want, i hope the future versions of padfone 3-4 will be it. I would love to own just one complete hybrid.

  • s3 is by far the most hyped phone on the planet. It is very hyped because it's the anti iphone5 . If they stop supporting it by word, they lose. Most glitched phone ever I've ever used. Wonderful features, but the glitches and the the poor quality of the phone, was a easy no. This phone is far more stable, and btw, some apps only work with internal memory. I say this again, some important maps will NOT WORK ON MICRO SD CARDS,

  • Padfone 2 making worest stylus missing tablet lower battery life no MHL mircosd card gone, this is a downgrade then a upgrade now looking forward other model phone getting disappointed with Asus non perfection product owner user padfone n transformer prime

  • That's how they make more money they took out the card slot cause they know if people need more space they'll go for the 64 Gb. There is no way they couldn't include one look how slim the S3 is & they included one. Only reason I'm interested in this phone is the camera, screen & look. Checked out the camera & it doesn't seem to be all that. I thought I might be giving up my S3 maybe not.

  • Asus need to have a product which is class apart and forces people to buy them.. for that to happen they need to add keyboard, stylus and basic radio as well and thn offer it at prices announced already..like s2 n note chanced brand perception for samsung, asus need to make padfone2 as flagship brand builder..super profits wld flow later..

  • I would have definately bought one already...but ASUS made me think twice without putting an expandable card slot...:( ill admit im REALLY dissapointed...even the first padfone had one...PFFF...now im thinking about the samsung galaxy s3...there is always sumfin that other fones dont have. i tried not going for a samsung s3 but everything points towards it...its the most all rounded fone there is...

  • I'd be more interested if this was running windows 8

  • I would definitely buy one (and the keyboard when and if...)

  • Just a short question: Where do you get the info that the Padfone 2 has "Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic"? Are you sure, because I can't see the second mic on the pictures of the Padfone 2, Could you please check again, thanks, Mike

  • they have an option for you to use speaker phone or bluetooth or even ear piece.

  • great phone from Asus after Google Nexus 7.Well done.

  • They have put those short lifespan Li-po batteries? I hate Li-pos, they lose capacity quickly, those who have used iphone for a certain while know it well. Not a good compromise for thinness.

  • this is great job asus padphone 2, beacuse apple is now gossip brand technology...

  • No keyboard, no deal With keyboard I'm able to use it as notebook subsitute while travelling. Whith abscence of SD card in padfone 2 itself, SD slot would be good just to exchange information quickly. Also dock is the good source of extra battery juice. It means currently I'm unable to change my Smartphone+Transformer combo to Padfone2. And it is frustrating, I was really waiting for it.

  • Hmm I guess you work for Asus

  • i realllyy loved asus brand one day it will replace ever brad and be the king

  • Anonymous Report Rating Reply 2012-10-17 18:35 Anonymous Report Rating Reply 2012-10-17 18:35 iFan seem to that, apple inovate somethink.jokes of the day.they do not inovate anythink.plz googleing about it,then u know about.apple like as bollywood. do u think apple inovate touchscreen phone.,if u belife it,plz visite to wikipedia.after visiting u'll detect ur wrong thinking ----- auses should provide radio and card sloth,i agree with u.

  • u don't need a card slot if you buy 64gb.

  • Not like i phone 4s . I phone 5 has too much difference....

  • very innovative. They took the apple approach, made a phone instead of something that has a bunch of crap you don't need. (addtional cards for slots, if you want something big get the 64gb). Overall beutiful looking product. LIke apple they are actually trying to invent stuff. At least they didn't tell us its the next big thing.

  • Brilliant specs!! Awesome design!! Great fablet!!

  • if you use the device as a tablet and you have an incoming call, then what? you attach the headset to the tablet and you could make and receive calls? thx

  • ASUS, why NO Radio and NO card slot??

  • It has a radio and it's a capacitive screen (not resistive).

  • Are you sure that this Phone in 3G Support HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 Becuase in the Web page of Asus On;y support 900/2100 could any one explain me Web Page Asus Info 3G : WCDMA : 900/2100 2G : EDGE/GPRS/GSM : 850/900/1800/1900, because in my country only support these and I wanna buy It. 2G Required GSM 850 or GSM 1900 Recommended GSM 850, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 3G Required UMTS 1900 Recommended UMTS 850 and UMTS 1900 Some One can Help me?

  • No card slot and no radio very bad- Asus should think on this matter.

  • Lg optimus G. is better design and better hardware .. better display and more good camera hd video recorder ... lg rocks ...

  • Hi all, can the tablet station be used as a tablet without the phone docked? So can two people use them as two seperate devices or does the tablet only wok if the phone is docked? Thanks.

  • it says Radio:No ... on all the high end smartphones on this site -___-

  • There are USB and SDcard slots on the keyboard element (sold separately and a "must-have")

  • I was just going to by the Padfone, but now it makes mores sense to wait until December for the new one! The two things that worried me - weight and docking - seem to have been efficiently solved. Good job, Asus!

  • My dream phone. This is absolutely the answer for my leisure and work life. Thanks asus

  • That has to be a typing error! ASUS would never actually release a flagship smartphone in 2012 with a resistive screen! ;)

  • Love it!! everything is great!....but wait!..no radio?? crap...i need radio.

  • 470 euros???can i believe that???

  • There is no MicroSD, what's the point of attaching a big screen if there is no Expandable. Kind of stupid.

  • you've heard of media players right? Buy an Asus O Play mini HD player with 1tb drive and spend as much as Php6k only. how many HD movies can you fit in 64gb anyway? where is the practicality in that?

  • what if you got privacy thing inside the memory? if there is a memory card, u can take out your memory card and send back warranty. if not any of your privacy may be recovery by the workers

  • wooooooow asus.

  • No separated USB and HDMI, no laptop dock, no sdcard. Why??? Why they cripple such a great piece of hardware with throwing away this great things. Great processor, great camera, great sound. It could be my next phone, but now...just disappointment.

  • Do take into account that several GB are needed for the OS itself, you can only expect ~10GB of actual usable storage from the 16GB version. Also, this phone makes 60fps full hd videos, those will certainly take up lots of space.

  • very impressive specs and cool tablet frame. It's a very apealing package.

  • no sd card slot apple pattent

  • Another high end android phone! Good work ASUS!!!!

  • Honestly, no matter if I have a 16 gb or 32 gb and in the future 64... I will always fill it up eventually... I actually do put HD movies inside my phone and for me is more practical to plug it to the TV than say... the laptop. I do not use DVD or BR players... Music fills another big portion of my cards and the rest well are HQ pictures and full HD videos since phones now can record them... microSD slot is a big plus. Very sad they took it away

  • The more I compare Samsung S3 specs with other Phones, the more i gets convince with S3......Samsung, you really did a magic here....S3 is your real flagship. The specs of PadFone II is going a bit higher than S3 in some aspects (RAM, Dimension, etc) but S3 is still a real package. That only marvel of Samsung is fighting against Apple, HTC, Sony etc & now with ASUS as well.

  • its awesome !! i really wanna it ;3

  • Well, if you have an itunes library with 40+ gbs of music and are a touring musician who wants all his music on his phone then 64gb is perfect. Shut yo mouf.

  • NO SD CARD SLOT !!! I was planning to buy the phone. In this case I'll wait for Nexus then decide.

  • asus indian fans are waiting till december 2012 for padfone 2 .asus will launch padfone 2 in india as soon as possible.

  • Poor Codec ... no extra micro sd card ... and the face is ugly .. i stay with my Samsung Galaxy S II I9100

  • The Price tag: 32gb = 650$ 64GB = 750$ Station = 200$ But remember, your not just getting a phone and a tablet. You are also getting all the capabilities of this incredible phone in the table. I haven't seen a tablet with a camera even close to 13mp. Then there are the savings to the people who have a data plan attached to each and every one of their devices. Yes, there are people who have separate data plans for their phone, tablet, and laptop. This could potentially save a consumer THOUSANDS of dollars in data charges a year! AT&T 10GB for $120.00 a month, Verizon 10GB for $100.00 a month. 10GB goes quick. Two Devices Running off one cellular/data plan just makes sense. This could be the start of the next big thing.

  • Honestly, how much storage do you need? are you going to put HD movies in it? most people can barely fill up an 8gb SD card let alone 16gb, If you want storage buy an external hard drive then and get an USB to micro usb converter cable, that should satisfy your storage needs, get over it.

  • "Price about 450 pound. Asus never make cheap products. NEVER." I work at a canadian online computer store for online electronics, we sell a lot of Asus, products, great quality. but for the asus transformers, returns raters were at a dissapointing 7%, and their nexus pad is at like a 8% return rate, due to manufacturing defects :(

  • No document editor for a phone so expensive.........

  • Exquisite design, top noch specs, revolutionary concept, you did it Asus, just like that you pulled the best smartphone on the market. I'm saying goodbye to my Galaxy S3.

  • No document editor for a phone so expensive.........

  • Video Yes, 1080p@30fps ??? Isn't it 60 fps?

  • Only one model has acceptable storage, and NO CARD SLOT, and i bet a lot that AS USUAL only 16GB version will be available in philippines, thats a law of nature that never fails, regardless of brand and model. Even abroad its often hard to find the bigger versions of everything except iphone and ipad, i know for certain this is a problem in many countries. There is NO reason at all to not put a card slot, let us buy the 16GB and expand it as needed. if Asus think we will buy the 64GB version isntead and therefore the missing cardslot will actually be profitable to Asus then they are very wrong. This isnt even a 16GB phone, but a 16GB tablet, with no expansion capabilities. For sure the 64GB model will be in the pricelist, but not in the stores, and in any case it will be too expensive.

  • Very expensive!!! Price is too much :-(

  • Very expensive!!! Price is too much :-(

  • Padfone 2 Quality looks inferior to gs3, except S4 pro cpu and Adreno 320 gpu like Optimus G... the design is not looking grant (unlike gs3) with universal "rectangular box" type.

  • perfect package

  • How much will a 64gb international version cost with the padfone station? Anyone?

  • It would be a good alternative to Galaxy Note 2 if it had a SD card. I don't want cloud storage, I want my data with me even when I'm out of 3G coverage area.

  • Yes, with a Bluetooth headset (included in the pack)

  • Asus just flopped on execution of a great concept. Without the keyboard docking station this thing will never be what it could have been. Extra battery, USB and SD slots in keyboard are gone. It can't replace or consolidate anything I own. What a disappointment Asus... NO KEYBOARD, NO BUY!

  • It is a pity that the resolution of the tablet is not full HD. Would have been a tablet and smartphone killer.

  • On asus website it says " 4.7inches, HD 1280x720, Super IPS+ with Resistive touch panel " that's a drawback...

  • Phone has no mirco-sd slot... sooo sad. :( Can anybody check if the tablet has a micro-SD?

  • I think 470 euro just for phone only

  • ...Jonney Shih just announced in Milan that for Europe, the PadFone 2 tablet bundle will be priced at 799 ($1,040) for the 32GB model, and 899 ($1,170) for the 64GB model...

  • Asus Padfone2 32GB : 799 Euro and 64GB : 899 Euro

  • will it available in United Arab Emirates ? how much will be the cost here in UAE ?

  • I'd be more worried if I just spent lots of money on the padfone 1 which was only released in June & still hasn't been released fully around the world & all of a sudden it's outdated. Doesn't make me want to buy this one at that price for fear of it being outdated before it's even arrived... What will happen with software updates - already the original padfone is an "old" model - how long will that get support & then conversely - how long will this be supported if, in another 3 months, they announce the next padfone....

  • is ips+ apparently peoples, not amoled

  • I wanna know if this price will be the phone plus the tablet? or only is the phone? I'm confused!!

  • This phone is awesome. Can any one tell me how much it cost.

  • Padfone2 price leaked: 32gb = 650$ 64GB = 750$ Station = 200$

  • Price about 450 pound. Asus never make cheap products. NEVER.

  • Its very great phone, but I will waiting next ASUS phone of 2014 with tegra 6 - codname IRON Man. I love ASUS, Great specs:))Have a great day all of you!!!

  • Its great phone, but I will waiting... next ASUS phone of 2014 with tegra 6 - iron man... I Love ASUS!!!!

  • It has it will cost about 150

  • this is like dream comes true... finally we have big screen, great build, best OS, 13mp camera & 2 gb ram in one master pc its not a phone only phone killer its a tablet killer.. hats-off ASUS.. M WAITING FOR IT IN MUMBAI..

  • Does anybody know what the lte frequencies will be?

  • now this what I call a smartphone. Mama-miaaaa!

  • If this phone had a Transformer style keyboard dock it would be the ultimate combo. I'd sell the SGS3 and my Tranformer and replace it with that!

  • Le me correct you for a minute. You see, amoled screen is not better than LCD if you actually need accurate colours and picture. It's only more energy efficient, meaning consumes less power compared to LCD. Then again, the GPU and CPU in this devices is also waaay better than what you currently have in sgs3. Don't forget its the same processor found in LG optimus G which according to qualcomm, can produce game graphics almost on par with xbox 360. So I don't think there's anything left to compare btw the 2 phones as this phone will completely annihilate sgs3 in a blink. Check optimus G performance for a start. Glad to help. LONG LIVE PLAY, LONG LIVE SONY.

  • now that's what i called a smartphone...........

  • i like the specs of this phone! i only hope though that this will sport a gorilla glass 2 and hoping to have a JB update asap! the design tops the android phones now especially the Note 2 and S3 and so far, this design is on par with the One X+ and the new Xperia phones. i hope this will be released separately with the tablet or if Asus wants this phone and tablet together, they should give it at a cheaper price so that this will sell like hotcakes! i can see a bright future for Asus and some other companies like Sony, Samsung, LG and HTC! ^^

  • You are wrong in many ways... Screen is not better... Quadrant performance is much more better in S3 than this one and LG Nexus E960 both have same HW and Quadrant is trully low... Don't care you have the best phone... MP are not Cameras so leaving the camera lens your S3 is better

  • I WONDER HOW FAST IT IS WHEN Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait combine with Adreno 320 HAHAHA even Iphone 5 won't stand a chance :D

  • I'm not disagreeing with you, but use some valid points jeez. The S3 has possibly one of the nicest screens ever, and that is due to the fact it is made by Samsung. The Camera in the S3 is also fantastic, you can't compare these 2 things until this phone is out and compared next to each other. This could well be better, but don't say it is if you don't have any way of proving it. Its saying things like that ^ that encourages fanboys...

  • Its da gd 4ne... Honest um totally comfsed But soon i ll av t.

  • On October 16 is the announce date. Than we will know when it's going to be available.

  • I actually have an international version of the SGS3 and NO... it does not own this phone... This phone is better than the S3 in many ways... Camera, Screen, processor, ram... Samsung have the advantage of putting a nice, useful software... But this phone has an almost vanilla rom... so it is all to personal preference.. I will sell my SGS3 for this phone

  • Design-wise this phone is better. But Samsung galaxy S3 owned it.

  • you guys bring the product to Africa and let me test beta test it please!!!!!! The phone's specs is the bomb. high class tech

  • im to confused

  • This phone is intended for docking in a tablet frame. So why does it have to be such a giant monster? I'd like to se the same specs crammed in a much smaller IP67-certified chassis with a 3" screen and a weight around 100g.

  • wow... superb..

  • wow.... superb..

  • please gsmarena make review of this model if possible

  • the bebebebbebebebebst smartphone!

  • Will it sip with jellbean or just ICS?

  • From an overall viewpoint,it looks like Asus has dropped the keyboard? So now it's just a tablet and phone with version 2.

  • this phone is dominating, if the given specs is true. i will add this phone to my wish list

  • I have been trying to find when the second version would come so i could ask to beta test this product. so pleas let me try this phone.

  • With that specs I think it will be so pricey :| high end hybrid technology

  • Shut Pp And Take My Money!

  • Padfone 2 RULZZZZZZZ The best Smartphone but it will be nice if they will make tablet dock with 1080p screen adreno 320 can do this :D

  • Releasing on oct 16 th in milan

  • Oct 16 is the launch date of padfone 2 in milan

  • That's call something evolutionary and upgrade

  • Hope this not too expensive, because I wanna buy this or Xiaomi Mi 2

  • i'll buy this one if launch at indonesia

  • Waiting for this dream phone!! any idea abt the price

  • they should have put physical cam button

  • I love the idea of asus padfone great great design really a monster smartphone... but only Android 4.0 ICS is it planning for 4.1 Jelly Bean update... What about internal storage???

  • i am going to buy the whole package when available!!!

  • LG Optimus G VS Asus Padfone 2 who will be the best phone of the year?

  • I would sell my SGS3 for this phone in a heartbeat... Looking forward to this model. Hope the specs are accurate.

  • I hope Asus will release padfone2 sooner not 3 months after the announcement.

  • Expected release in the USA Q4, and in true ASUS style, expected release in Australia Q3 2013 at more than double the price. PADFONE 2 has some great spec and has great potential in the Enterprise but ASUS in Australia unfortunately are difficult to deal with. Partnering with their competitors is a lot easier when making recommendations to the major SME & SMS. Such a pity as the PADFONE2 seems a terrific device.

  • yes, LTE, NFC, 13mp, quad core, 2 gb ram, u r the best

  • 2140mah is quite ok actually.... though the 1st gen batt life is not top notch but with only a 10% increase in screen size, but u get 30%+ juice, so i think it is ok. though we still need to see how the S4 Pro and 2gb ram reacts.... and with the station as a backup batt, the juices should suffice for 1 whole day heavy usages.... though of course, i wouldnt mind getting a MAXX battery here.... ^_^

  • Fastest processor quad 1.5GHz and maximum graphics 320 and 2GB Ram 4.7 Screen Only battery if can be 3500+ will be best mobile avwilable Because 2140 is tooo low for 4.7 Screen Please asus review this comment before final release

  • I love the concept but I still don't get the idea why anyone would want a large touchscreen phone to dock to the tablet - why not have a smaller phone with the guts, a great camera etc. and the pocket-ability that docks and does all the stuff needing screen space (web, video, reading etc.)?

  • Im waiting so long for this kind of phone because bundle with the tablet. Full package on the go work as pro. Already got asus laptop realy satisfied with this kind of brand.

  • Im waiting so long for this kind of phone because bundle with the tablet. Full package on the go work as pro. Already got asus laptop realy satisfied with this kind of brand.

  • this one gonna rocks on battle against the Optimus G!!!!!!

  • WoW > I Dare Asus > Very Good

  • Waiting to see more of it ( Pics )....

  • Good

  • should i go for this one or LG optimus G

  • Perhaps I am the first commenter, yours sincerely from Germany

  • thats good!

  • I want it now and I just can't wait...

  • If the padfone2 station has FHD display and low weight, I will preorder padfone2+station without doubt.

  • God of Phone is here... Rise up and show respect..

  • Totally agree 10/10

  • Asus will be a serious competitor in the near future.

  • let's give it 10/10

  • I'm so looking forward to this! I just hope Asus doesnt delay release. They've got to ride the interest when it is strong... Then again the new nexus is around the corner. Nexus trumps everything else!
