Asus PadFone Infinity - User Reviews

  • Was there any reason why this phone costed €1000 at launch?

  • Mine died after 1.5 years or so, I bought a battery replacement and I installed it thinking it would solve the issue it didn't !! Does anybody else have a dead Asus PadFone Infinity ?? I would like to try and fix it....

  • My touch screen broke too... Then I ordered a new touch screen unit from AliExpress for $70... and my phone is now as good as new! It is my 4th year with my favourite Padfone Infinty A86 (phone + Pad).

  • i used my padfone for almost 2 two years and it works for me.

  • I have Asus padfone the black one n I can't find a touch anyware in our country can someone plz help me with that

  • I have padrone infinity my touch broke n i seach to replace it n i cant find the touch any way in the market

  • I have padrone infinity my touch broke n i seach to replace it n i cant find the touch any way in the market

  • Lousy phone, I used last than a month. broke down send to service centre wait for nearly two weeks then can collect. I very disappointed for the phone function and durability. Drop one time screen crack. Overall, don't buy this phone waste of money. I rate only half a star in five star score. :(

  • I bought the padfone infinity A80 in May. The phone would get quite hot when I used MX player to watch movies. The cellular and Wifi signals were quite weak. Phone broke down completely within 2 months. Had it repaired and the motherboard was changed. The engineer damaged my screen protector. When he thought he damaged the screen, he tried to deny any responsibility and the phone was sent back. It turned out to be the screen protector. When the phone was finally sent back, the phone broke within 48 hours. Their customer service in Taiwan refused to replace the phone with a new one and their service is horrible beyond imagination.

  • I guess it's because there is not much advertisement on this phone, & it is not sold in all 90% of retail (at least in singapore). I had to search for months to find out which retail is available. & the salesperson is not helpful enough to provide the technical knowledge on the phone.

  • Have been using Padfone Infinity for over a year now, hardware is excellent, but sent to factory twice due to software crashed. Overall the interface is very convenient to be handled. A question which I saw few ppl were asking here, can I use the same docking station with the New Padfone Infinity 2 (or any other new Padfone)? If yes I might consider buying new Asus Padfone, thanks for advice.

  • thats why its so cheap to have hi-spec..

  • I have owned 2 sets of asus padfone. Padfone 2 and new padfone infinity. After using the 2 sets, i have concluded i would not want to consider to buy any phone under asus. Here are the experience. 1. Padfone 2. Docking faulty sent for repair, still not sensitive and faulty now. Padfone 2,sent twice to repair, now faulty as cannot hear from phone. 2. New padfone infinity, screen not sensitive and phone hanging and slows down. The phone and tablet faults appear within a year. Warranty is for 1 year, however its troublesome to visit the service centre every few months and without a phone to use for a couple of days die to servicing. If a person does not mind sending mobile and tablet every few months and live without a mobile while servicing then should be ok.

  • hi.. if i buy padfone x, can use infinity docking station? I lost my infinity phone(A80). So i have only station.

  • Hello I have a question so I have an ASUS PadFone X and I cracked the screen and I'm having trouble finding a replacement screen will the screen from an ASUS PadFone infinity A80 fit on the PadFone X?

  • Hi, I have the same experience. The wifi does not work properly with padfone alone, however works fine when used with the pad.

  • Another thing you could consider is sending it to a service point near your location. You will have to pay administration fees (35-60 euros). If it is only the loudspeaker or a cheap component that needs to be replaced, then this way will probably end up being cheaper than shipping it to the remote service point where repairs for your device are covered. The caveat is that, if the service guys say you need a replacement motherboard, then that is 35-60 euros down the drain, as replacement costs for mobos are in the range of 300 euros. (which is never worth it for an 1 year old device) But hear this piece of Asus service lunacy out. I first send my malfunctioned phone to a service point in Netherlands. The guys here told me that along with the speaker, the mobo also had to be replaced. (costs upwards of 300 euros PLUS admin costs) I rejected repairs so ended paying for service costs only. Then I sent it through my supplier to a service point in Asia where I was told that they only had to replace the loudspeaker. At that point, I got absolutely livid as I couldn't understand how two service points operating for the same company could come to differing conclusions. I asked for explanations, never got any. In the end, the loudspeaker replacement fix proved to be proper. My device is fully functional, too bad I bought a Moto G in the meantime and am using that fulltime :)) My advice to anyone is keep away from this series of Asus padfones. They are not reliable enough and the service you get is questionable. You can get similar quality without much of these hurdles. Asus is a very good brand for laptops, not so much for smartphone devices it seems.

  • Sorry. Only now I got to see your comment. I was fortunate enough that the supplier provided me with an option where they would pay shipping costs in case of malfunction within the warranty period. This was stipulated in the offer, but I had to be insistent with them before they acted. If your supplier didn't offer you such an option, the only thing you can do is send the phone to a service point in a country where your warranty covers repairs. Depending on how much shipping costs, it might or it might not be worth it.

  • Hi, It happened to me. It is the switch inside the slot that occasionally does not release itself. You just have to do a little twist to the phone as you insert it in the slot. Good luck. By the way, the wifi of the phone in stand alone mode does not work propoerly; with the pad works fine. Any similar experience?

  • The Asus Infinity padfone was the answer to my phone searching days. BUT the screen/LCD cracks before you know it. The Touch capability disappears and the phone becomes useless. There is no one replacing the screens and the guarantee doesn't work nor exist. i had both the pouch and screen protector but it didnt help. PLEASE ASUS DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE SCREEN..

  • i bought it 6 month age, the phone is perfect ,very nice, fast , high quality & useful but the station is not. it wrecked after a while in spite of a rarely use and wont start. i sent it for guaranty 1.5 months age and no answer were given. during a search in the web i found out that too many people had the same problem with the station either.

  • I buy my Fadfhone last 3 weeks ago, my prob is during charging in off mode I cannot see the charging bar so I dont know if its full or not..

  • It happened the same with me. What did you do? You resend to Asus? I don't know what I do... I'm very disappointed! I should have bought a little more expensive even in Europe! (299 Europe) x (257 Taiwan but with problems?) Answer me about what you did, right? :)

  • Unfortunately, I was one of the unlucky ones whose phone malfunctioned. More precisely, its loudspeaker stopped functioning and obviously, from that day onward, I was no longer able to use it as a normal phone. Beware if you decide to buy it from Ebay, the warranty Asus provides for this phone is not International. Hence, should something stop working, in the case that you bought it from a different area, your options are to pay for repairs/servicing, see with your supplier if they can replace it, or to send it to an Asus Service Point located in the area covered by the warranty. The latter implies that you also have to pay shipping costs. The phone itself is nice, and responsive. The OS is not much different from stock, though you do have some preinstalled non-removable apps, most of which I have found to be useless. The camera is solid with some nice features. And I really enjoy the hybrid environment you get with the Padfone Station. Plus, it really feels and looks like a high end device. What killed the investment for me were the warranty and Asus Support. There will always be duds among products, but what I found disappointing was that World Wide warranty/service support is not provided for such an expensive device.

  • this padfone can buy seperately?or they are sell seperately?

  • Your motherboard is dead and it happened to me as well. The motherboard has to be replaced it will take about 21 days in the UAE. Same thing happened to me

  • I Just bought padfone infinity 2 days ago, now the smart phone suffered from the sudden death, and doesn't response for charging or to pad station, it just death i don't now why or how to solve it .

  • Do not brake your phone. I was very satisfied with my phone until I broke the screen. Now I found out that ASUS has the worst customer service of all phone companies as the phone needs (in the EU9 to be send to an eastern european country to be repaired and the send back. 14 Days it will take, honestly who can be without your phone for 14 days?? They will not sell spare parts to any of the normal phone repair shops !!!!!!!!!! I will never buy ASUS again for this reason. I want a max of 3 days repair time- or walk around the corner... this is not 1990 but 2013!!!

  • Poor in camera.....

  • Poor in camera.....

  • Why Asus quietly changes the battery from Li-Ion to Li-Po? No wonder my friend say his Infinity doesn't last like my Padfone2

  • I just baught it and I am very content. It is a very powerfull tool. Since it is expensive, even for its unique feature - the tablet station, I wouldn't advise buying this overpriced device unless you are willing to use its tablet capabilities to a good extent. Its tablet-phone switching isn't too well implemented either and I do experience some Wi-Fi shortcomings. It is built well but I would strongly advise buying a case at least for the phone immediately as its big size and shape make it prone to bad handing (I'd recomend a slim wallet type case).

  • i think this problem is from your computer because i have same smart phone and i can connect it 2 pc easily

  • hi, i'm glad that u r happy. i've bought the same phone recently i have problem connecting it to pc wile phone is inside the tablet, my computer dose not recognize it at all. although i could't download the asus sync... could u please help

  • LG Nexus 4 is a nexus device and it will get all the android updates before other non nexus devices.

  • I changed to this phone from my old HTC sensation xe. This phone is just so sexy and superb, I was actually going to wait for the new asus padfone infinity to launch in my country, but I couldnt wait anymore so I got this instead with the pad station, this is just so awesome. For those who are very specific on the design on the phone, this phone will not let you down. Carrying this phone around would definitely attract a glance from passerbys, the aluminum back cover is just so sleek and sexy, the huge front screen is is just like a black tourmaline mirror. Regarding the usage, this phone runs very smooth, 32gb version has got enough storage for me as a medium to light user. The phone runs as the motherboard of the padstation, it can cause the phone to warm up but not to an extreme extend, only around 36-37 degree celcius. Warning: when using the phone with the padstation, I recommend you not to charge it while using as it will cause heat up problems. Overall, Im very pleased with the money I spent on this and the quality I get back. Super super good.

  • Their Tech department is sleeping.. that's why slow update 4.2.2, even LGNexus4 gets 4.3. Asus tech is really still Asleep...

  • when is the android os update coming for this model? come on asus. this is your flagship phone and it is not even 4.2.2.

  • Got a padfone 2 for about 5 months now, suffering from the phone not charging for the 2nd time and I never use the dock, it appears the phone wont charge because one of the pins that fits on the dock is kinda lose ( p.s. i still dont use the ****ing dock ) service center is terrible too... really dissapointed great phone which have a couple of major problems with no support what so ever. I live in abu dhabi and got this **** from thailand

  • Exactly my thoughts - but the likely problem: the marketing dudes getting too (that is: even more) confused! Is it a phone, a tablet or a laptop? And the sales guys having to explain the even heftier price tag... you get the idea!

  • I've read that the external display uses a MyDP cable, not MHL cable. Haven't tested it yet, but that explains why my MHL cables don't work with the PF Infinity.

  • GSM you have amazing specifications on a lot of the but a few things missing on the padfone infinity are the camera beautification, anti-fingerprint screen and the charging pad station

  • what i'd like Asus to make is a padphone windows 8 edition (full windows OS no mobile RT sh#t ) dockable with a 13.3" screen turning it into an ultrabook. this would appeal to a huge number or consumers otherwise the padphone will remain but a tiny niche market .... with android phones / tablets so cheap.

  • it's not lcd/tft, but lcd/ips.

  • I get my Padfone infinity and the phone is nice and finishing is outstanding. The phone have a problems with the wireless comunication such as GSM signal in general is low bluetooth and WiFi same problem. Example i connected the my WiFi router and I can't get good signal in other room and I have another phone that is full. Bluetooth the signal is to week that I can't put the phone in my pocket because I can't talk clearly because the signal is low same blue device is connected to my other phone with out problems.

  • Why are metal body, powerful processor and ample memory, the popular Android operating system and update, the camera is very good and most importantly a fun station, the popularity of this phone is so low?

  • I bought the padfone infinity less than 1 month ago and I am extremely disappointed with the phone. The first day onwards the phone was not able to get a good signal inside my building to make and receive calls. My old nokia n97 gets the full signal all the time but this one gets only 1 bar. Whoever calls me tell me that they hear a lot of disturbance in the background and they hear my voice as white noise. I was in dubai mall and my callers cannot hear my voice at all and I sometimes have to call twice for them to hear my voice. My wife could not hear me when I called from ajman city centre. The final straw was yesterday when the phone was not charging at all and it would not switch on even after charging for 6 hours. Although the tech is amazing and fast its like a mini computer the communication aspect i.e., calling and talking to people, is really poor. Battery life is also poor for the phone and it switches off automatically when it goes below the 20% mark. I gave the phone back to the retailer and asked for a replacement, since its a nano sim phone, till they get this fixed and they said they dont have a policy like that. I blew 3000 AED on a phone and this is the service I can expect?. really poor show from everyone.

  • for printscreen on mine: long push on right capacitive button (multitask).

  • I'm in the United States how do I purchase one of those phones

  • Guys, how do we print screen? Have been trying but can't nail it....

  • yup they could charge together

  • Good phone but why NO LTE for USA version????

  • I bought a PI. Are phone and station charge suppose to charge together - if i place phone inside station and charge?

  • mhl is supported through micro-usb, with an adapter

  • you sure padfone Infinity still uses MHL connection? How come mine's micro USB??

  • Did you bought a pirated version? I saw very similar in Guangzhou, China few weeks ago.

  • yes!!! totally agreed! and i loooooveeee this phone!!!!!!

  • If you don't know how to use it, don't blame the phone, blame yourself. Using the phone for about a month and have no problems with it, definitely one of the best phones out now.

  • Im owner of that phone for 3 months now. Its totally awesome imho. I have had no problems with it. Everything works wonderfully. By far better than my previous galaxy S3 in every aspect. Main reason why i bought this phone was 2in1 tablet/phone mode and because its good for out door usage. Its LCD TFT screen is way better on sunlight than any Amoled screen.

  • Station needs the phone to work.....

  • Very bad phone. I purchased this phone in HK. In 2 weeks it acts up. After I factory reset it didn't boot on. This is a dead phone now. And very difficult to get a service center. Nice to look at but very bad phone.

  • This was supposed to be released in Australia sometime in July. It's now nearly mid August and no sign of it in stores. Is this another product only available online? We keep getting a lack of availability as to what we can get and they wonder why retail doesn't do better. When will they learn? Consumers don't want to be told what's popular and what isn't, or that there is a supply / demand issue. We just want a decent choice.

  • the best phone in the market, if you can afford it buy the 64gb version.

  • the best phone in the market, if you can afford it buy the 64gb version.

  • The station needs phone to run!

  • it's been in malaysian market for quite a while you know. Try look for this shop in Mudah , type 'directd' and click on list of items they sell. Good luck. Update us what you think about padfone infinity :)

  • Do the pad phone station work seperate or it needs the phone to be connected to work?? please reply asap

  • when will it officially release in malaysia ? nice phone, looking for it.

  • Ip5 laugh

  • Is it available in Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia?

  • There not going to launch anywhere else besides the countries there already at. Might as well buy it online.

  • gsmarena please review the Asus PadFone Infinity. I want to buy it.

  • WiFi and Connection are good. never lost call. signal for my 3G are really good. i think if you looking for android this is really good. camera are way better than my s4. battery better than my z10. Give it a try. its really good. my bro in law just get this too. superb design and quality!!

  • this phone is best

  • Any news on whether this phone will be available on contract from any carrier in the uk.. iv been waiting for over 2 months for its mainstream release in the uk. Come on Asus.. release it please...

  • Have this phone as well as ip5. In the end .. still go ip5. Connection is not as polished(switching between networks), and UI/Applications is not as smooth as ip5. BT sucked. WIll give it another go when it update to android 4.3. (currently is 4.1.2) And compared to the other android flagships, it lacks IR controller, it also lacks third party casing/screen protectors and support as its not popular phone. and lack portability as its huge.. and no sd slot.

  • which UK stockist did you buy from?

  • Any feedback regarding on the wireless connectivity of the phone? weak signal or anything? what is the connection speed it has on your home router? I am asking as encountered weak signal with iphone 5. Been watching this phone for two months now and planning to get one to replace my iphone 5. Any feedback will be much appreciated. thanks

  • When will it release in india???

  • I would like to see the padfone station with the same resolution as the nexus 10 screen+ a Snapdragon 800+ keyboard dock+ lpddr3 4gb ram.

  • Hi, I'm having a problem using the MHL to link up my PF Infinity to my LG TV. I'm confident my connections have been properly set up, but it still isn't working. Can anyone help me out?

  • Using padfone infinity for more than a month. To b honest iam very happy. Bought many smartphone. But many of my friends are impressed and about to buy it online. The battery superb. Could stay longer than my s4 and z10. Camera surely really good. Night shot are much better than s4. Cant b more happy with this padfone and the station. Give it a try..its makes life easier. Very smart , for phone and tablet for the combine.

  • I've recieved mine - ordered from a UK online stockist. Very swish indeed. Because of my thick fingers, I inadvertently hit "home" rather than space when typing sms or FB messages but I expect that with time I'll improve my dexterity!

  • Yep I am in the same position, as I am now alienated with Rim after they ditched support for the playbook, and BB10 looks very modest in abilities.

  • Guys, you can go to search "padfone club". it's a forum discussing all the 3 models of padfone on many different topics. My verdict for this phone, which i've been using for almost 2 months.. after samsung Galaxy Note n7000, apple iphone 3GS, Iphone4S, nokia 9550, n95, n900, 8910i, lumia 800, blackberries, htc HD2 (THE LEGEND)... O2 XDA2... THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CONCEPTS AND SPECS FOR TODAY'S COMPETITION.

  • Why it is not available in Pakistan Please launch it in all Middle East countries

  • used the 2 predecessors. this one is not worth the price tag. paying close to 400sgd for a tablet shell. if you only getting the phone wo dock. then this phone might not have an edge against other competitors. no longer need an extra tablet. so the next one might be xperia.

  • Hi does anyone know when the padrone will be released in the Uk. I need a new phone and this looks great

  • I Like Only One Android Phone That Is ASUS PAD PHONE INFINITY Please Launch It In Pakistan It Breakes Recods Of Sale

  • I'd like to correct the NO EXPANSION thing.. just out of curiosity i tried mine with a 1TB WD passport.. typical windows external hard drive formatted in NTFS via an OTG cable that has a female full size usb with a micro usb on the other end.. and it worked just fine.. now am planning to get 500GB seagate slim to match it with my station storing all my media files in it..MP3s and movies..leaving my internal storage for apps installation..

  • Its same price as S4... and that phone is only 16gb.. this one 64gb. Even if you buy 64gb sdslot excuse for s4 .. its more expensive then this phone. So no .. not expensive at all. Its because it bundle with the station you think is expensive.

  • I jus read about it specification n i can see that is good, i really like this phone but hw can i get some? or please can someone help me get it? you can email ([email protected] or [email protected]) me if only you can help me get some...thank you!....lol...

  • its a good phone, no doubt. just dun worth the price.

  • Unfortunately, it doesn't have.. everything else is great.. excellent phone + pad

  • Just received mine today. So happy with this both padfone and the station. Its smooth. and Camera are so good.

  • Yes

  • does have the padfone infinity DLNA ?

  • have DLNA this device?

  • I used the phone and tablet without screen protector for a week.. sliding it into the docking alot of times.. No scratches at all, not sure if gorilla or not.. but sure is durable.

  • does the padfone infinity really uses the old gorilla glass? and not the gorilla glass 2 or 3? oh gsmarena! review please.. i'm excited to buy this phone.

  • The more i use, the weaker i feel the padfone station really is: 1. OTG keyboard/mouse does not automatically wake the tablet. (Need to press the power button, then the keyboard/mouse get detected.. when it off, you have to repeat the actions again.) 2. Light Sensors on the tablet / phone (auto brightness) does not work, when you have full brightness setup. 3. Cannot connect to PC in tablet mode. 4. Bluetooth is weak and useless, you cannot connect both BT mouse and BT audio headset at the same time, the music or mouse pointer get jerky. So basically this is what ASUS tell you how to use this device: - Use the phone only. - Do not connect any BT / OTG keyboards/mouse/audio. or try to use this device+tablet like a desktop. In other words, the padfone infinity station is a piece of junk. You get better performance if you dich the station, and connect your padfone directly to a normal monitor via OTG hdmi. Oh yea.. no BT connection.. you will be disappointed.

  • Long it lasted but now the Padfone infinity in the 64GB version at Amazon is available in Italy. This is the version with the tablet. The price is of 981 below the MSRP. There are certainly some waiting for the availability, since Amazon has a good warranty (my last two Asus products are broke down within the warranty period and were replaced by Amazon without any problems) and by the dispatch from Italy are also incurred no customs fees. Since it probably will not appear in Germany so is import from Italy probably the quickest and safest way.

  • if you miss the padfone, padfone 2, does not have a tablet and are ready to spend premium on a tablet. get this , you will love it to the very last bit.

  • Alot of people did not know this is running jellybean 4.1.2 instead of 4.2 The tablet mode shows a 4.2 interface to trick you, but its not 4.2. It does not have widget in lockscreen, multi user support etc etc. Update the details GSMARENA!

  • when I brought the original padfone, I do not have a tablet and would like to use one to surf the net. got all the accessories for a fraction of the pad station cost(today). it is a nice device and I proceed to purchase the padfone 2 at similar price but without the keyboard dock and Bluetooth headset. not going to buy another tablet, furthermore the price of the pad station is way over the board, with not too much of improvement. one pro thing about this is the ability to use google ime for Chinese and English input. this is useful as some android fone tied the input to their in house input method. which has limited vocab for Chinese characters.

  • Thats why use the build in asop keyboard.

  • I brought this one 3 days back, the input keyboard automatically giving some values when ever typing. Its only one problem which i face other items are really good. High end phone & TAB is too good. The error is with only phone in tab its working fine. I already raised a ticket to fix the issue to ASUS. Hope this will solve soon.

  • just bought it . it feel so good . first time to try padfone and the station. cant ask for more. as iam using 2 device with one tablet . dont have to carry so many things right now. Very good !!!

  • Yes very true, the station is lousy. The only upgrade is the screen to 1080p only. The dock station lacks the following and not justify for the cost: 1. NO Expansion slots (sdcards / usb/ keyboards / pen) 2. NO Smart cover ( magnetic on off screen / proximity sensor ) - light sensor not working well. 3. NO wavecom pen as to competitors. And because of it.. the phone suffers along with it. They MUST release another docking station worth while for this phone.

  • i brought padfone and padfone 2. frankly i think its getting too expensive. still think the original padfone is more functional. the station cost so much more this time. yet it does not comes with additional sd slot.worse of all it does not comes with stereo speaker. i would not invest in a docking station with that price which could almost get me a decent notebook.

  • In fact, each one has a USB port. The phone's port is used to connect to the station, but in this case, one port remains... Moreover, it supports USB Host. And last, SD to microUSB adapters do exist. ;)

  • It just lacks a sdcard slot, without the station dock, its similar in all ways to htc one, only bigger and longer battery. It has otg/usb, you can connect to pc/mac fine directly via usb. The only weird thing is the docking station.. when docked you cannot connect to pc as it treat it as charging only. So basically the station is like a "pc" in itself.. but you can still connect otg keyboards /bluetooth / harddisk.

  • As this device has no Card slot and no USB port on either the phone or the dock, this device, as a tablet, is bordering on useless. I'm sure you can load movies and music on to the phones limited onboard storage somehow, but if you don't have access to wi-fi, 3g or a lap/desktop computer to download from, how do you add/copy anything to/from this device. At least with the first padfone you could switch micro SD cards in the phone or use a USB device or SD card with the Padfone Station Dock (can we just call it "the keyboard"?). Even the bottom end tablets have USB slots. The beauty of the Padfone WAS it's flexibility. The Padfone 2 and Infinity are just very expensive novelties. It's like having a car with the worlds lowest drag co-efficient because it has no doors or windows... technically brilliant but not much use.

  • actually i muddled it up. it was die hard with a vengeance "no he said 'hey zeus'. my name is zeus." in Men In Tights it was "i said 'hey Blinkin', not Abe Lincoln".

  • the name Asus reminds me of a line in a movie. i think it was robin hood : men in tights. it kinda goes " i didn't say asus, i said 'hey zeus' "

  • yah ummm ok... dude, seriously?!? google this phone. the first result will be the ASUS website. go into this then scroll down to csmera, performance, design, etc. and read up on the features. like for instance, this phone can be connected to any hd tv or monitor via microusb to hdmi using the mobile displayport interface. also i'm pretty sure you can use the phones camera while docked onto the station. plus you can use the touchscreen on the station as you would with a notebook. one last thing having a 7 inch station for this phone rather than just having a notebook phone would pretty much defeat the purpose of the 2 in 1 design. they spent a few years on this, the team at ASUS would have considered all factors and this is a basic yet very effective and convenient (especially compared to a laptop) design. ASUS is a really good electronics brand, and they work real hard to be so good but they can't please everyone with everything.

  • Cool thanks for the tip! :D

  • Shame.. This is a good phone..

  • Just wanted to let u know that the camera is not restricted to 5.5 MP in the station. turn it by 90 degress( Landscape to potrait or vice versa), u will get 13 MP

  • This isn't going to be in the us

  • price is to high good for those having a nice pocket...

  • This is the most underrated s600 / flagship phone ever. Perhaps no one in US have it yet.

  • review please.. and quad core shootout with s4, htc one, optimus g pro, and xperia z! and comparison review with its most related rivals like snapdragon 600 phones! this is also a high end phone!

  • Price of Padfone Infinity 64gb + Pad Station was NT$28,000 (1 month ago).

  • Asus should concentrate and release different dock stations for this phone, 1. laptop dock with sd slot + normal usb with build in 500gb spinning harddrive? 2. 7 inch mini tablet dock for people who want just abit more space. 3. 23~27 inch 1080p monitor for desktop user. 4. small dock for hdtv with additional usb for the hdtv multimedia user. 5. dock as a screen function for a dslr 24MP camera 18-55mm zoom camera? The choices are endless!.. And people will take notice of this phone, and Asus will become the king of hybrids (which they already are)! haha

  • Тhis is a work of art.

  • 2 more bizarre but important things: - USB OTG works fine on the phone, but does not work on the Pad Station. Therefore you cannot connect the Pad Station (with Phone docked) to your PC or USB. You need to undock your Phone first. - Charging the Phone or Pad Station individually is fine, but when the Phone is docked into the Pad Station, the combo can ONLY be charged if connected to the provided ASUS adapter. Plugging it into your PC, car or a proprietary AC-USB adapter will NOT charge the combo. Maybe this depends on your country.

  • I got my 64GB Padfone Infinity + Station from Taiwan a month ago (it's cheaper there!). It's used as my only phone. I'll summarize my user experiences. Phone Pros: + looks and feels really great, much more premium than anything else yet less slippery than HTC One. + vanilla android is smooth and creamy. + display is excellent, same for viewing angles. + external buttons well positioned on single side only. + several firmware updates over the past month. Phone Cons: - Asus standard apps aren't very useful and don't look as polished as HTC/Samsung. - Android 4.1.2 only (4.2 was promised). - camera software isn't quite as quick or smart as others. - single speaker is weedy and easy to accidentally cover with finger. - nano-SIM only is inconvenient. - gets pretty hot if used intensively AND being charged at the same time. Pad Station Pros: + significantly boosts battery life. + makes watching movies, playing games, photo galleries and reading text a joy. + speaker is very loud and clear. + docking mechanism feels very sturdy. Pad Station Cons: - Pad Station build quality is suspect, it has a plastic creak noise when pressed in lower right corner. - using the camera in Pad mode limits maximum resolution to 5.5MP for some reason. - cannot lie down on a table as the protruding back means it rocks around when typed on, a stand-case is a must. - environment settings don't carry across from Phone mode to Pad mode, so you need to set them up separately, which is annoying. - switching displays may confuse the phone and its Apps for a few seconds, sometimes requiring closing the App. - switching is not instantaneous, there is a short loading time. - takes a second for the Pad Station to respond to being unlocked. Extra comment: I have no docking problems with putting screen protectors on the phone. There is a slightly raised bezel around the edge of the screen, so the protector sits flush exactly within it. Don't be fooled by the number of negatives, as I am just nitpicking. The most important thing is to purchase a svelte leather cover-flip case for the Pad Station.

  • Tested PadFone 64gb with PadFone Station briefly Here is the stuff normally not told. 1. 53 ~ 52gb usable storage 2. When docked with pad station, you cannot transfer data from padfone to computer via USB. 3. FM radio have loudspeaker mode. But earphone is needed to act as antenna 4. PadFone home screen is not reflected in Station. (You have to set both manually) 5. You can install both tablet + phone apps from app store. or tablet only apps not available for phone which you can only use in tablet mode. 6. Respond speed is faster then S4 on default and latest firmware. On par with response on HTC one. 7. Adding a thick screen protector is not advisable when docking often.. the dock and phone slide in very tightly no room for cases or screen protectors.

  • is it available in Dubai or Iran?!

  • S4 might have higher benchmark value. But i found this device actually respond faster then S4. Even without the dock station, its a very good device as itself.

  • Thx man for the info, can't wait to buy one!

  • No.. the tablet does not have the keyboard connector.

  • I cant find it any where in Saudia Arabia. In Riyadh I visited Axiom Telecom and Jarir bookstore to find it but they dont even know about Asus Padfone Infinity!

  • does this support any of the asus keyboard docks

  • without talking about the padfone station you can buy later on, lets look at the phone. 1 week use and i'd say it's the best I had. I've used xZ for 3 monthes and it's beatten in many points. To me, screen colors and overall design are better than S4. Only competitor now would be HTC one. Maybe some will miss micro SD slot and removable battery, I thought I would but with 64Go,USB OTG and good power consumption management I forget about it. Asus please teach sony how to use their own 13MP sensor: instant camera launch, way better photo quality than xperia Z. +better power consumption and battery time: screen on + wifi, no power saving mode: now 4h30 screen time and still have 20% bat left. mines not getting hot. Long time I hadn't been so enthusiastic about a phone guys

  • Really cool design but Asus should let the top of the phone flush with the pad when fully inserted. Will be much better.

  • FM radio for singapore please! June 1 yahh

  • SO Sexy Looking. very good specs , for people looking phone and tablet together. what a BEAST !!

  • is there Arabic language in this device, & is it available in the Lebanese market? if not, is it available in the Democratic Republic Of Congo/ Africa?

  • A bigger screen is really better?

  • No unfortunately it is not the same dock. I have not tried it myself, but you may be able put your Padfone 2 into the Padfone Infinity Station (because it's smaller?)

  • Hi Szeifryl, Did you see already the padfone infinity in Dubai mall or mall of emirates? cuase im waiting for this device... asus representative told me that the release date would be 1st week of june....I can't wait to see :-)

  • That is not padfone infinity... that is padfone 2... they will be launching infinity only by first or second week of june 2013

  • Dimensions (Infinity) 143.5 x 72.8 x 8.9 mm Dimensions (2) 137.9 x 68.9 x 9 mm So, The Slots aren't same.

  • the padfone 2 station and padfone infinity station slots seems to be same, is it compatible with each other or not?

  • PadFone vs S4. 1. Lower battery capacity (2400 vs 2600) 2. Higher resolution / image quality (ips+ vs amold pentile) 3. Both have software to tweak phone details. 4. better button placements - back/home/recent apps. no physical button (but subjective) 5. better finished back vs plastic back cover. 6. Same price. 64gb padfone w/o dock = 16gb S4. 7. Tablet mode. +5000 battery endurence or 2 charge cycles. 8. Stock android feel vs touchwiz. 9. Less buildin features/ but can download features from app store. 10. FM radio..? (not sure for region) 11. Both have wifi ac. (new faster then N) / best bluetooth support. 12. No wireless charging vs s4 with replace back cover. 13. Physically bigger then S4. 14. Both scratch resistance. 15. Better view under direct sunlight vs s4. 16. Camera and flash is not protruding out (not scratch when place on table top, unlike s4 .. might get scratch if you do not have a casing. 17. No sd slot vs slot upto 64gb. Personally not a bad choice for people who want a hybrid. (S4 or One or PadFone)

  • Its available in dubai - Mall of Emirates in their electonic section. Also available in Dubai Mall.

  • Also available in xcite avenues

  • Anyone Know, When it will be released in middle east?

  • Its available in alghanim electronics 4th ring road showroom

  • Lte is supported in Europe as well :)

  • Lte is supported in Europe as well :)

  • is this available in kuwait. if yes where can I buy one

  • The Fonepad could well be a game changer that will put great pressure on Samsung's forthcoming 6.3 phablet in terms of chances of success. This is as the Samsung alternative is likely to be over twice the price. It will also be a final admission that there are thousands of people around the world wanting an affordable Wi-fi AND 3G tablet solution thus eliminating the need to be chained to a WiFi hotspot for their data needs. It will also further underline the fact that many now mostly use their devices for web interaction and not voice calls.

  • Padfone got a few things correct in their design. 1. Good button placements The 3 buttons below is the most frequent buttons to be used. App switcher/home button / back button. Power button at the side for easy on/off as the phone is quite tall. 2. Camera / flash is not curved out, so it stay scratch free when you place it on the table. 3. FM radio :) LTE but in asia only ..

  • is this available in Saudi Arabia. if yes where can I buy one

  • Does the PadFone Infinity work with AT&T carrier on the voice and data LTE?

  • why not pocket-friendly small-screen-size-phone with attachable big screen? now have two big screens and not pocket-friendly phone.

  • Did you hear about USB-OTG? I have Padfone 2 and it works fine with flashdrive/cardreader from USB-OTG.

  • Asus padfone is not meant to b used as a skating board! Gorilla glass one is gud enuf!

  • What a great idea that is ? Definitely I'll sell my Samsung Galaxy S3 And buy this ! I know that Samsung is the king of smart phones right now But I need a phone and a tablet for some reasons. Let's hope it's inexpensive !

  • Expected Gorilla Glass 3. This is unexpected

  • Asus, you phone is good enough but too tall. ...sony xperia zl is the leader of the pack for 5" display (in size).

  • This padphone has got every specification but lacks memorycard slot & removable battery. Also gorillaglass 1 is so outdated now gorillaglass 2/3 would have been much better.

  • This padphone has got every specification but lacks memorycard slot & removable battery. Also gorillaglass 1 is so outdated now gorillaglass 2/3 would have been much better.

  • Okey. I Did not know that :O I never even knew of The padfone brand before februari also.

  • just like padfone 1 and 2 it has option of Svenska as operating language , sms + keyboard , etc

  • That is true. But I'm from Sweden :p i want The swedish menu and sms keyboard ^^

  • you can get it from Taiwan on ebay

  • April is soon over and still no release... Why asus, why :( I need to get this freaking iPhone 5 in the trash can... I need your padfone infinity!

  • crab... X2 price from s4 but performance...

  • let me spell it out for you: if i need to use a bigger screen i then use my padfone tablet instead of the phone

  • With such high price, I'd rather buy a laptop or a desktop PC which work uncountable-times better than this thing. It's great and all, but the price doesn't do it justice. I might reconsider this IF ASUS decided to lower the price. Make the so-called 'tablet' as an option AND NOT mandatory, lower the price and you're good to go. But here comes the main problem: ASUS don't listen to their customers. That's it. End of story. Boom.

  • Man Honestly I think you don't know what are you talking about

  • phone is even bigger then padfone 1 and 2?!?!?! no thanks :( what size will the 4th generation be .. same as the 10" tablet/station?!?!?! Asus , how about making a smaller well specced padphone?

  • 8,9mm on ASUS web site..

  • It's Thickness 6.3 mm not 8.9 mm :D

  • nice phones...good,better,best by asus after sony xperia z.

  • Compared to padfone1, this is 2 steps back... they've remove the mircoSD slot, and don't have keyboard dock option,. I can no longer pretend to be taking notes in meeting, plug/play or copy from/to my USB/SD cards, lying down watching a video from my chest.. Docking/charging my phone to keyboard at my desk. Pricing it so high, not listening to feedback, lousy customer service, not wonder its ranking dropped as fast as appeared... Waiting for someone else to debut similar combi device, that would hot up this battleground..

  • they said they will go with a bluetooth keyboard for this one

  • Yes,! I agree, why they place the expensive price bullshit. Why not just around $600 - $700.

  • its good looking device, stop crying. who cares..... it wont be triangle, so just srfu.... it is gonna be best phone 2013

  • Front upper face %100 copy from Iphone 4th generation. Be creative Asus.

  • After reading all the comments, I dropped the idea to purchase the PADFONE. ASUS Try hard.

  • Seems to be good phone, but why the launch have been delayed?

  • I highly doubt they would include a keyboard dock it was never mentioned in the announcement

  • I'm guessing your new to the the padfone series as the previous two padfone's have been delayed. Don't trust Asus on anything.

  • Why does not Asus announce firm release dates, e.g. UK? They said Padfone Infinity will be released in April but weeks later there is still no news when competition has released their premiere products like Sony Xperia Z, HTC One, LG and Samsung GS $ on the way. Last time they said December for Padfone2 release in UK and there was no release or update even in March! Asus is not doing themselves a justice with their ridiculous and inconsistent pricing and release schedule.

  • I've been using padfone 2 for the last 4 months it is by far the best android phone available. The pad makes it even better. Stopped carrying a laptop. Will skip the infinite but will definitely upgrade on the next release.

  • Asus should stop insulting people's intelligence if they want customers to reward their innovation. They say this padfone concept will save cost on almost all components e.g. processor, memory, storage, 3G/LTE chip etc. Yet they price it higher that top end phone and tablet put together. Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 can be bought for £550. For Padfone Infinity to have any chance of success, it should be priced under £500. And of course it should be released soon not months later.

  • Dear Asus, I seriously doubt this phone can rely on the tablet gimmick as a key selling point. I believe the only effective KSP would be to have a tablet WITH KEYBOARD DOCK. You need a KEYBOARD DOCK to make the tablet a useful tool as opposed to merely a toilet device. So please do not do what you did with the padfone 2 and fail to produce a keyboard dock. Thank you.

  • good device, but i am not buying it this time.

  • damn, almost perfect device, NO MEMORY CARD SLOT simply ruin it! one big mistake Asus!

  • How can I get this Asus PadFone Infinity in Philippines? I really want this phone :))

  • I hope Asus gets the actual release date and price right unlike they did with Padfone2. This unremovable battery and no micro SD card expansion is ridiculous. Battery is not usually covered by warranty and loses 25-30% of capacity after first year and around 50% after second year. Manufacturers are acting in cordination to force people to buy a new product effective every two years because of battery. Regulators should fine these manufacturers and stop this plot. Meanwhile any clevery manufacturer would use replaceable battery and micro SD expansion slot as differentiator and market heavily on that.

  • currently using Galaxy Tab &plus , it's too big for 1 palm. i think the perfect size will be not exceed 105mm. its exactly reduce 1 size black bar. that will make me firmly hold the device as a tab phone.

  • The phone is on the big side. It is longer and wider than other similar phones. I do not know why Asus well the phone together with the tablet.

  • Id buy the phone alone without the tablet dock for 500 quid. The phone alone is perfect. I dont really care about removable battery or micro sd as i carry a battery bank around anyway :)

  • this is the what i have been waitng for its i cant wait to have it in my pocket once it`s on the market

  • this is the what i have been waitng for its i cant wait to have it in my pocket once it`s on the market

  • what is this,Asus PadFone Infinity price 1000euro for this phone it's a bullshit, 600euro it's Samsung galaxy S4 and this i best phone in the planet now yo men ;)

  • Um to save money & not to spend more than a $1000 on a phone.

  • they dont want us to buy any pad phone....as one comes out the announce another one ....why would any one buy pad phone 2 when infinity is coming in april ?

  • What are the specifications of the stationary unit? They should be mentioned along with all benifits of joining both device

  • Perfect one,i'm waiting to have it Great design, great specs, love it

  • and you can still carry micro SDs! just have to carry the OTG adapter as well - it's not that big. just make sure it's a decent card and not some buggy no-brand one.

  • Really takes away the portability of a micro sd card. Who would want to carry a brick with them for extra storage if you can carry a tiny micro sd card??

  • yeah for you to stick a cheap, crappy, ebay bought, -10 class micro SD and screw the phone up! it has USB-OTG you can connect even external hard drives of 1TB if you want! (probabbly not 1TB but hard drives you can)

  • what poor 3g support!!! here in argentina we use 850/1900... it will be useless for us! :( its a shame!

  • If only it had a MicroSD slot !!

  • Looks like Asus didn't learn there lesson last time on the sales of the padfone 2. Now they jack up the price to $1000. Worst customer support ever! Wouldn't buy from them

  • CPU, screen and phone size

  • wtf? what is yhe difference between this and Padfone 2?

  • why no extra card slot? 64Gb just marginally enough. why put the brand at the bottom, put it back to the top and shift the ear-piece up, it would be perfect.

  • In all your phone you write: Java: Yes, via Java MIDP emulator. There is no emullator for 4.2 yet, and never comes with the phone anyway... So what is the true about MIDP ?

  • I'm curious how this gadget works. Does this mean the Pad can't function independently without the Fone inserted behind it? Does battery life increase with Fone inserted in Pad (2400 mah + 5000 mah)? Does the Pad offer additional features aside from the larger screen? Nano Sim is not an issue, you can simply cut your sim to nano size and use an adapter to switch between sim sizes.

  • Am totally agree with you ... Wats the point of having a phone with so big screen when u can enlarge it by inserting it to a pad alr ... Besides it is hard to bring arnd n put inside the pocket ...

  • in Slovakia it will be EUR 999...

  • Does anyone knows the price for this phone? Or at least an approximate?

  • Can i get the phone only?will they sell it separately?

  • dude..2400 mah is more than enough for the 5 inch smartphone..plus its use 600 series that proven save energy..and i think asus do listen to their customer..thats why the padfone was made..its for people who wants both smartphone and and tablet without having to buy it separately..

  • Phone 5.0 inches is big I like to be 4.3-4.5 not bigger. Station 10 inches will be O.K., but for me better will be not bigger 8-9 inches.

  • Asus just kicked Apple's ass

  • 5000 mAh can already last for a long time.

  • I like this device but regarding to the price it is quite expensive.

  • No. It has better processor clocked at 1.7ghz and its qc 600 and not the s4 pro used in sxz. Also better battery than sxz.

  • No. It has better processor clocked at 1.7ghz and its qc 600 and not the s4 pro used in sxz. Also better battery than sxz.

  • same spec.of Xperia z.

  • It's a phone and a tablet, of course it's a bit expensive

  • For phone :only 2400 mAH for 5" How ??? For Tab : no Keypad and ony 5000 mAH for 10.1" How ?? Dear ASUS please be a professional and listen to your customer

  • Very impressive device but not for me. I don't want to wait until 2018 before Australia gets the Padfone Infinity. Beside ASUS are terribly unprofessional and arrogant to deal with in business.

  • Too expensive but the features were not so impressive :(

  • There's no card slot, no keyboard. They didn't listen to their customers. I'm not getting it.

  • Luv it.. Like the Idea

  • why so expensive? the hw are not even impressive.. is it because its quadcore? so lol is it not?

  • wew what a price!! its good but how sad i cant afford it...

  • oh WTF...it 5" and battery 2400mah only.and 10.1" 5000mah only...thank u very much ...bye bye...

  • From india M all apple user ip4,ip4s,ip5. iPad 3 & MacBook Pro. All I can say is in love with this design and specs. Phones like HTC ONE & Padofne Infinity can truly be compared with Apple. Top notch built quality premium materials. Now ASUS should work is on availability of this device and price. ( even if they price in compare with apple, ip5 32 GB here is 52.5k 930$ approx alomost). Here in India Padfone 2 is not available yet ( officially).

  • the design is similar to iphone 5.

  • when i saw no card slot.. i decided to giv up..

  • Everything you want with an awesome design, I love ASUS.

  • Yes i know the htc one or s4 are otw too. But i am using blackberry, because in my country they use bbm alot. I dont really like it btw. But its just too many to have another smartphone and plus one tablet. I think this will make life easier. As dont have to carry so much things in your hands. Good for sharing picture too. This just i tought. But still have couple monts to decide still. :-) or second option are buy htc one plus sony experia z tablet. Will see how it goes after review. As htc one. Not yet full review or compare to others smartphone camera for day and night shots.

  • Useless phone to many! nano SIM not available yet in many developing countries.

  • It cost too much, great spec though!

  • the padfone is good enemy for the HTC One.

  • will this be available in the uk?

  • HTC One is better.. And Iphone 5S or 6 whatever they are gonna call it...will overtake this anyway.. Not in specs maybe.. But surely in real world performance... But yes.. I certainly don't think Apple will release a big smartphone which we cant easily handle using one hand... Anyway its your opinion.. Some people like Asus... I'd say HTC one is better and Samsung Galaxy S4 would be even better... Iphone 6/5s would be faster though...just because they optimize the software so much better..

  • its specs are great but it would be super costly at such a price point we could buy a great gaming laptop

  • Come on. You will smartphone and TABLET

  • isn't it the front facing camera is 2MP?

  • Best of the best...it has everything. What a monster

  • 1000 Euro is a bit too much for a smart phone.
