fixed it somehow. the charging port was dirty. cleaned it with some toothpick and some pins, then finished it with small amount of alcohol. now it's charging fine. about the battery, it really does drains fast after some years of usage. nothing we can do about it as it is caused by daily usage, unless we have our battery changed. hope it helps...

My only quam about this phone is the touch sensitivity. (Ghost touch) Had the phone 1.5 years. For the price, you get a really good deal. Takes awesome pictures, and the call quality is pretty good. Had past issues with bluetooth connectivity but it was eventually fixed with updates. I'd buy another one if it came with a larger screen.

I started with the old ASUS Padd Phone X. MAN I loved that thing, but it finally got too old, so I went looking for a new ASUS. The Zenfone seemed to be everything I wanted in terms of sepcs, for half the price, and I got to stick with a UI I prefer. Problem is, from day 1, the signal strength has been less than the phone it replaced. This is close to a year ago now, and more and more, I'm realizing that this brand new, state-of-the-art phone, actually has a weaker connection than a phone that was somewhat out of date when I got it (though it gave me a glorious 7 year run before age caught up with it). Unless someone can tell me why that would be, I'm looking real hard at maybe financing a Galaxy. A lot I'm not excited about, but everything I've heard says their signal strength is top notch. Too bad really. I love everything else about the Zenfone, but because of the spotty connection, half the time, I can't make a call anyway. Yet the phone it replaced had reliable signal in the same spots every time.

I had a Samsung S7 G930F, which was very good, the problem was the lack of internal memory, far below a Flag Ship, only 32 GB (22.5 available to the user) marketed in the local country. I sold and was scrambled from another, I found the Asus Zenfone ZE552KL, and so it is very good, fast at all, 64 GB of internal memory (52.75) and still accepts expansion slot. The battery supports my use well, and you can spend a day and a half or two without needing charging. The screen has excellent colors, brightness and contrasts. The camera of photography is excellent and so far, I have nothing to complain about, it's just joy.

Looks and feels great and it's still super fast after installing, removing and installing even more apps. Volume levels are perfect, great audio and pics too. THERE IS NO QC2 or QC3 ON THIS PHONE, please read this carefully. This is confirmed by Asus staff. It only charges at 5v@2A, 10W, this is confirmed on a sticker on the back of the phone. This device seems to be plagued with an annoying issue of scrolling stutter present throughout the ROM. Hardware tests did not reveal any issues, though they were hard to perform. Factory reset did not bring any noticeable improvements. For reference, an old Zenfone 5 running Lollipop has way more smoother scrolling than this brand new Zenfone 3.

so I charge my phone from 0% to 100% using the LDNIO qualcomm 2.0 charger using original asus 1.0 cable. seems like few seconds slow. i mean 30% for 31mins, and 100% for 2hrs where the original asus charger 30 mins for %30, 100% before 2hrs. no qualcomm quick charge actually. even the qualcomm website mention it was qualcomm 2.0 since june this year

I just bought the LDNIO QC 2.0 but havent use it since I havent got the chance to use up all the way to 0% currently. because QC is only charging fast from 0% up till 80% from what I read at others website. When i use my phone, i tend to end the day with about 30% battery life, and this is with most of my radios on. But it also depends on what type of game you play, if its like asphalt 8, you would get 2-3 hours of straight playing out of the phone. In terms of camera performance, I would say it is fairly good, with quick auto focus if you have continuous auto focus enabled in your camera app. In order for you to get the most out of the zenfone 3, you might have to play around with each aspect alot. With the zenfone 3, you're getting a slightly more powerful soc but there are trade-off you have to be willing to make such as a smaller battery.

No, I regret buying mine. Too much crapware on it, no QC (confirmed by Asus), no NFC and bluetooth don't work properly. Wish I had gone for the Sharp Z2 instead which costs less and has 50% better benchmark scores.

But recently, because of their quality starting to falter, I tried this instead since it was also affordable. It does not matter what you get as this phone is very slippy (will slide off a table on its own) and easily broken. So you have to keep it in a bulky case, even if you get a pink one (if they exists), its colour will still be hidden.

This phone is a real disappointment. Asus loaded it with so much crapware and screws with the OS so much that it is almost useless. Bluetooth, a function that should work on any phone does not work correctly on this phone. It will not connect to my car audio and looking on the Zenforum, it seem to be a common problem. First the mods there tried to fob me off by saying it may not be compatible until I uploaded videos proving that the problem is with the phone, software specifically. Bluetooth is a safety feature and if it does not work properly in a vehicle, it makes the phone dangerous, if not illegal to use in most countries while driving. Then Asus screws with the core OS so much that with each updates, they introduce more bugs. Not only does this phone not support QC (10W in a 2016 phone?), with the latest update, it was reported that it support no charge at all! Effectively turning the phone into a dead brick! This is the last Asus I will be getting since they cannot even get the basics like bluetooth and charging right.

Hello! I've used my ZE552 KL for 8 months now and it still works very good. I use it for GPS Navigation, playing games, recording action cam videos through WIFI connection, streaming videos to TV and the usual taking pictures and browsing the webs. I've never had problems with Wifi disconnection. The only problems I've encountered are: - On occasions, it lags when using Mobile Manager for cleanup; - Sometimes it redetects the SD card as though I've just installed it even though I never removed mine from the first install but it doesn't interfere with the good operation of apps when this happens I was able to find accesories like cases and screen protection online. Last but not least, let's not forget that it looks great. I'll keep it until it has no more life. As a conclusion, it's fast, slim, doesn't overheat, and I think the price is right for what is has to offer. I

Great phone. Bought the 4GB/64GB version offline in Bangalore for Rs. 19,500 and am very happy. Had to uninstall/disable a lot of stock apps and replace them with Apex Launcher etc but some of the bundled software, particularly utilities for tweaking display settings, are quite good. Performance is great, no lag at all. Of course, I'm only using it for Web browsing, and reading the occasional epub but even that was enough to stress my previous LG L90. Chrome is a hog after all. Camera seems OK. Haven't used it much but indoor photography with flash works well.

Hi guys have you ever experience low light issue/almost dead screen/black screen/ using the zenfone 3 5.2? I just bought the zenfone 3 last two months ago however when I was trying to download a Korean series like I usually do most of the time, the screen gave me a very low light effect to the point that I can't see the application i'm using I tried to restart, turn it off the device but still giving me a weird screen fyi I tried to set the light effect to fullest but still I have the same issue when I tried to update the o.s and turn it off for about an hour every thing backs to normal. I currently own a zenfone 3 (ze552kl) coming from zenfone 2 (ze551ml) i'm not a power user i only use zf3 for simple daily tasks and it's more than enough for me. The battery lasts longer than my last zf2 with same usage and it suprised me on how it's so battery efficient. I played a lot of games in my last zf2 so much and it does the job as well but with heating issues when used with long period of hours and if connected in mobile data, i think zf3 can do just the same or even better without heating issues. NFC was never a big deal or a deal breaker for it's absence in zf3 thoigh zf2 have it i used it only once to try sending a file faster than bluetooth. But even though i don't have nfc now WIFI DIRECT is just as good or better for the same file transfer thing. Camera was not really a thing for me but zf3's camera for me is outstanding. Zf2 does take good pictures but zf3 is rightfully better. Wifi and mobile data does connect without any dropping of signal. I really love listening to music and i was not expecting the sound output of the zf3 specially with my MDR-XB650BT, i used it with my last zf2 but with zf3 i thought it was broken but instead the sound was clearer and not hurting my ears specially with long periods of listening. I'm so glad my money was so well spent. My reason too by sticking to asus was with their blue light filter which i saw first with zf2. If you love your eyes consider getting something that will not strain your eyes. I read a lot in my zf2 and now zf3 but never had an eye discomfort. Make sure to buy a bumper case as well to protect its glass cover. I just can't stand if it was broken in my case. Overall it was 3-4 times than i expected. I was blown away.

I have used this phone about 6-7 months until I drop into water. The repair is too hefty so I bought myself a Mi 5S Plus. After another month usage of the new phone, there are some findings that are quite surprising: 1) Somehow in my experience with Zenfone 3 display is superior to Mi 5S Plus's(JDI). Color and vividness are slightly better. 2) Temperature, ya I know not fair to compare SD625 to SD821 but the differences is so obvious. Especially when you browsing and YouTubing, I have accommodated to my previous Zenfone's behavior. So, when my Mi 5S Plus heat up a little during my Internet session, I felt very weird and uncomfortable because I didn't experience that in my Zenfone 3. 3) On audio quality, Zenfone 3 is definitely louder, headphone audio quality on Zenfone 3 is the best(better than iPhone 7, Meizu Pro 6 and ZTE Axon 7 IMO). Mi 5S Plus would be in Hall of Shame for this category. 4) Button fitting and USB cable port from Asus felt a bit neat and better quality(you'll feel when you plug the cable) than Xiaomi's. Even the thickness of Asus's cable itself is thicker and felt solid. 5) I thought Asus's rear camera is harder to handle but I was wrong. In any mode, Xiaomi is no match to Zenfone 3. Only the front cam of Mi 5S Plus is better. 6) Call quality for Asus is slightly better, especially in noisy environment. I miss Zenfone 3 so much.

i got this zenfone 3 ze552kl and i have been using this APPLOCK found in the the system itself. I did not set a PIN to lock an app but i used fingerprint instead. Now, my fingerprint sensor is broken and everytime i tried to open the app with lock, its asking for a PIN. how am i suppose to enter the right PIN when I haven't set a PIN in the very first place. pls help. thank you.

Lol. I agree, Zen 3 HDR was so bad. Adjusting white balance? If u increase white balance then all of the picture will have the brightness increased (all part of picture), and HDR function is to increase exposure and WB in some area and decrease exposure and WB in others area. Such as, if u take a photo of a person with sunlight in the back of that person, HDR will increase exposure and WB at the person and decrease exposure and WB within the person (not the person itself), but if u do manual mode and increase WB by yourself all of the picture will blown up. If u don't know what i'm talking about, try HDR on samsung phones and asus zen 3 and u will know the different.

there is a hdr pro mode which was absent in zenfone 2's pixel master 2... moreover, in auto mode there is also an hdr mode like auto hdr, hdr and only auto by just tapping...hdr pro is excellent.... White balance can be adjusted easily by long tapping on screen and scrolling left right.... Very customizable manual mode having highest 3200 iso values which was absent in ZenFone 2 models...but with this high iso , the noise is minimum... I can charge my ZenFone 3 552kl within 2 hours....and battery charge capacity is far more better and even greater compared to any other phones...its lithium ion not lithium polymer battery....so charge storage is far more better...my ZenFone 3 lasts 1-2.5 days according to usage and there's no charge linkage at all... I dont find NFS useful to me...though it's a drawback.... There are some popular brands that have hybrid sim slots....64gb internal is somehow enough to me... But 800 band is a drawback i agree.....

It has a hybrid slot where you can chose either a second SIM or a mem card 5. No Qualcomm Quick Charge 2 In conclusion you're paying 1/2 as much more for a zenfone 3 to lose a bunch of pretty useful features and gain slightly better looks, with two fancy pieces of glass front and back and a marginally longer battery life. For my money a zenfone 2 is a better choice!

Imagine my disappointment when I've found out that the Zenfone 2 was so much better than the Zenfone 3... For starters: NO NFC! a must have chip in a phone these days (Exists on the Zenfone 2). Second: No Qualcomm Quick Charge 2 (even thou the Processor suppose to support it. (Exists on the Zenfone 2). Three: Apps are crashing all the time (Never happened once on the Zenfone 2). This is the worst phone I've ever owned. Things I hate about it: 1. It looks cool, but the thin edges feel unstable in my hands. 2. Few (or none) cases available. 3. Volume button is not on an edge. Since it is on the same side as the camera lens if you can get a case it would cover this button. 4. The 'Home' button is not a hard (real) button. It's touch and near the space bar so you accidentally hit it sometimes. 5. The battery dies at an alarming rate. 6. The touch response seems slow. 7. Bluetooth volume is much quieter than an iPhone 4s. 8. Bloatware. Asus must think its a computer because they filled it full of garbage. 9. It hangs up while logging in on occasion and you have to log in I'm sure there is more as everyday I hated the phone a little more. Asus seems to copy all other phone companies problems, which seems like a terrible business model. After 6 months of use I could no longer tolerate how worthless my Zenfone3 is and switched back to Samsung.

You should try basic troubleshooting by performing a reset on the phone. My Z3 was bought last December 2016 and I have no issues whatsoever so far on my phone even with the latest firmware and OS releases.

unstable in receiving text/sms message when using sun cellular sim/network if unit is configured to 3G on both sims(non automatic setting). tried the sun cellular sim in another non-asus unit and its functioning well even if set to 3G. applied the nougat update but still problem exists. asus needs to address this in a new firmware. forcing to set to 3G on both sims is quite important specially when you are in a remote area where signal is scarce.

Durability : A5 but I think it'll still crack like the zenfone 3 if it falls. Waterproofing is good to have but mind you YouTube Tech Trinkets dipped his zenfone 3 into coke for 2 minutes and it didn't damage the phone at all so you might wanna have that in mind. Gaming : Zenfone 3. Sd625+Adreno 506 is actually a good combination for intensive gaming. A youtuber said it can handle GTA at highest graphics settings without a hitch. Benchmark scores is slightly higher on the A5 if I recalled correctly but the Zenfone 3 performs better. Surprising, right?

I got the model ZE552KL and updated it to Nougat without factory-resetting it. When I enabled the double-tap screen feature in the settings, the phone suddenly started to reset itself about 4-5 times in a row, which looked like a bootloop failure at first, but now it's working fine. I will update if it happens again. Aside from that, this phone is amazing for the price.

The update doesn't delete your data, but a factory reset (which does delete your data) should be done after a huge update like this to avoid potential bugs. Yes, the update is stable. Back up your data just in case and then visit the store.

Hi, I don't have any issues after updating to Nougat, but I did a factory reset right after completing the update. I backed up my data before I installed it. I advise you to do the same. With the Nougat update, I have better battery life, lower RAM consumption, stylish quick settings, the multi-window feature and the special Nougat Easter egg. I haven't experienced any bugs so far, the device is running very smoothly. Best of luck!

if you need a dual-sim active in 3G+4G well I think this is your best bet so far, if you go to the asus web site it actually states both sim are 4G, but I just purchased one for the dual-sim feature, It does do 3G+4G in active stand-by, but sim1(micro)is 4G and sim2(nano) is 3G and the 4G is not highlighted ,bit strange seeing nano is newer, price wise it is bit high still but for the features and dual-sim stand-by it is kind of worth it, camera is not as flash on high zoom but screen and speed of phone is great, games run fast, 4Gb ram helps, but the 5.2 with 3Gb ram is just as good.. but the size is close to mini tablet.

Using 3-network on both sims the phone cannot accept more than one 4G signal at a time. The other sim must then be set to 2G. A bit difficult when your provider (on both sims) as a minimum uses 3G. Further I have not yet found a way to make the phone accept to send text from both sims, probably because on 2G it is only for calls. Please ASUS make the necessary software changes to make this otherwise good phone work.

month ago my bag fall from my table and my zenfone 3 was inside. my temperedglass broke and a bit scratch outside the temperedglass area, near the 'back' touch. i guess because of my money flip inside with the phone. today i dropped my phone just now on my wood flooring. without the casing, only the tempered glass installed. the side hits the ground and end up with the temperedglass facing downwards. luckly the all the front and back glass as well as the tempredglass. still okay without crack. even the touch and camera still in good condition. thank god

Got it 2months ago. Feels right, the battery drain shut down app. is very practical. Battery life is more than expected. The cases i found in the stores weren't at my taste, had to find one on amazon and wait 6 weeks. Hi, i recently switch from zf2 to zf3 (ZE552KL), I put Data sim (Tablet plan) in SIM 1 and I set Data network to SIM 1, for SIM 2 I put a voice only SIM card and I configure to SIM 2 for voice call. Problem is when im on the phone using SIM 2 the Data on SIM 1 cuts off until I hangup from SIM 2, I didnt have this issue when I put this 2 SIMs back to Zenfone 2 and I can make phone call and data are working at the same time. I have had this phone for a week now and it has already been riddled with issues. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. It is by far the slipperiest phone I have ever held, sliding off almost completely flat surfaces. When you place this phone down, if it is not completely level, your phone WILL SLIDE. I also had notification issues right out of the box where I am not receiving texts unless the phone is awake, not getting any notifications except for facebook messenger (I have checked all the settings as an experienced Android user and they are the same for all apps), frequent frame rate drops, and this is all within the first week of having this phone! Asus customer service was less than helpful when called.

Performace is good: it's not better than the flagship but it's class leading Screen is moderate: I like Samsung's amoled display. I don't like Zenfone 3 White ballance and color tempreture. Splendid mode is not the solution. UI and GPS: Zen ui is quick and stable but it has more bloatware. Gps is fast lock. Camera is Good: Image quality is better than Mi 5s plus, oneplus 3, iPhone 7 plus, xperia xz, Huawei P9, Lumia 950 XL (all these phones are my old phones) especially super resolution mode is excellent. Video quality: I don't record video via mobile. Sound quality is poor: first of all, speaker and headphones have low volume. High and boomy bass, Low mid range. moderate treble. Call quality is ok. Earspeaker volume is normal.

I've been using my Zenfone 3 5.5 for almost 3weeks. This is an exellent smartphone. But there are lots of bugs in the latest software update. When editing contact, it stucks when u press done button, sometimes, the notif panel is not as blurry as the default blur. After alarming everyday, when i play music, it pauses everytime i turn off the screen so i have to restart phone to refresh its system to back to normal. It looks like some system files have got corrupted. If it is only related to home, you can temporarily install any 3rd party launcher like Nove or any other of your choice, switch home and see if you are able to start the phone. Then take backup of your data and do factory reset. Since it looks like some system files are corrupted, it is better to do factory reset to be on the safe side. Hope this helps.

It disabled the fingerprint scanner initially (immediately after the update), but it works normally once you unlock for the first time. If you are still facing the issue, try disabling and re-enabling the fingerprint access.

You in the wrong choice if you want snappy camera, better choice will be the Iphones and Samsung flagships. For this price range, not much competitors can be snappier than Zenfone 3. Also, it is slow snapping for the close objects. As for the captured pictures' quality, Zenfone 3 Auto is kinda bad. However, due to it's superior lens and camera hardware, you can go into manual mode to get the best out of it. It'll beat Samsung S7 easily if you are on the right manual setting.

I've owned the ZF2L 3gb but gave that to my girlfriend when she broke her phone's camera and now I have the ZF3 and it's an amazing piece of technology for sure. The build quality is solid and feels thin even with a Tudia ultra thin case that I have and it helps with the camera bump. Some reviews after 1 month of using zenfone 3: Good overall performance. 6hs to 9hs onscreen time. No heating when playing game or using 3g, only get heating when charging. Fast wifi and 3g data. Camera is ok ( maybe I dont feel good about the quality of camera because I am using a DSLR and usually compare the phone's camera to the DSLR. It looks terible to compare to a DSLR camera). For the next Zenfone generation, I hope Asus will redesign the camera for better look and add a 5000mah into a midrange or flagship phone with 5.5 in screen. Received this phone in the mail yesterday. Blown away by the battery life in my first full day. Unplugged the phone at 630am, its now 10pm, I'm over 5hours screen on time and still at 51% battery. The ZenUI is pretty thick and heavy, and there's a ton of bloatware out of the box, but once you take the time to delete/ disable all the junk and set up a good launcher, the phone itself is great to use. Not noticing any slow down coming from a Nexus 6P. Very premium feeling build, if a little slippery. Camera is very good in bright light, not as good as the 6P in low light, but certainly serviceable. So far, I'd say I would definitly purchase this phone again, in fact I will probably will be ordering another ZF3 soon... my wife wants one now.

I just got this phone in Canada. It is just as good as the top phones out there. I had a Samsung note 4 edge for the last two years and it was an awesome phone in itself. But he wife wanted a new phone, given she liked the Samsung I gave her that one and got the Zenfone 3. Out of the box it looks and feels the same as the Samsung note 4 edge, but once you start playing around it is super fast. It has a great speaker for a smartphone. The colours are vibrant and clear. The pictures are really great quality as well as the video. With 64 gigs it is definitely worth the cost. Also it has up to 2 terabytes worth of micro sd capability, but I got a 128 and it writes and reads just as quickly as the onboard storage. There is more bloat ware than other phones in its category, but most of it is quite useful if you want to play around with the other features of the phone or enhance your pictures. There is no dropping of signal. The best feature of this phone is the battery life. Remember with Li On batteries you never let it drain nor do you let it max on a charge. Even though it has a threshold once it reaches full charge, I do not advise just keep charging throughout the day for little periods at a time (keep it between 20 to 80 and you will get the max out of the battery.. I get about 4 days standby with no talking or playing games, just online searching and if I use it heavy it still lasts for about 2 days without needing a full charge. I have always been a fan of Asus products. Now I can say they have outdone themselves. At this rate they will be the next contender to samsung and apple. The features are close to the samsung's, but in that part of the world knock offs, copying other's work or just outright duplication of another's work is totally permitted. Although that is not tolerated in North America, I cannot deny the craftsmanship invested into this phone. I paid $1100cdn for my samsung note 4 edge in 2014, For the zenfone 3 I paid 420 cdn. So you do the math vs the functionality. It is truly worth the investment for todays usage.

Not every picture is over saturated. If the light conditions are ideal, then ZF3 can give you realistic natural colours. Details and colour reproduction is very good. And the pics taken in pixelmaster 3.0 low light mode (not normal low light pictures) are excellent. If you don't believe me, you can check camera pics of ZF2 Laser, which has been taken by pixelmaster technology. In this mode, the camera will take picture in 3MP, not 13MP! First check those pics, then you can talk about ZF3 as it is better and takes pic at 4MP.

When you click in low light, the result is low light picture which is decent in ZF3. But when its camera app detects low light, it recommends you to use pixelmaster 3.0 low light mode (Owl icon). The cam takes pic quality in 4MP but the quality is excellent with minimal noise.

According to the specs here, it does have IR port, not written is the FM radio, I'd used it and its great. The phone also survived the accidental drop from about 3' height, I thought i would claim the insurance I have for this. It looks fragile enough with the glass it has at the front and back. Only there are times when the double tap to shut down the display does not work.
