  • there is BBMv5.0 available. if u like BBMv4.5, u'll love BBMv5.0. i just upgraded it with my 8820 & it works great.

  • have been using 8707g for past 4 years, i'm happy with it but have to switch to 8820 due to certain reasons. Though tx speed is slower comparing to 8707g(3G)vs 8820(EDGE), the variaty of Apps and Multi-media are excellent. As fans of IOS and Android around the globe at presence, Blackberry can certainly maintains its core value of high security and reliable performance for business purposes. Btw, I have tried 9900 and 9360 in gadget shop a bit. Feel good for those new models as well. Just wonder 8820 kinds of 4 yr old phone but still pretty suffice for use in current era. Nice job!

  • such a nice phone.. i use this phone and his older brother (8800) for last 2 years and never meet any problems.. i just upgrade the OS and its works..now i can use OS 4.5..BBM with pictures and groups..and the battery very good. i charge only once per day..for heavy use and one per 2 days for normal use. very very recomended phone for businessman..

  • cant upload some song or files without any extra memory card because internal memory of this phone is small..only 64mb..:)

  • how do i use this phone to upload sounds without the memory card from my laptop?

  • hello,my name is odun.i just bought this phone of recent and am having some problems.firstly,i can't access my phone numbers,my memory card and how can i configure this blackberry 8820.i really need fast reply.thanks

  • nice!

  • Hi All, I have an opinion to but this. Shall I? Give me your remarks, then only I can decide to get that. Now I am having Nokia C5. But in my office I cant use Camera mobiles, that y I am thinking and recently I got to know through my fnd about this BB 8820 Model. How it is?

  • Me and some of my friends have been using this phone for last 1 year, actually we all bought this together. So, I can tell you the facts about my phones. 1. Buttery sucks, it hardly gives 1 hrs talk time and 2-3 hours stand by. 2. Track Ball is out of order for last 1 months and I have been using it without track ball. 3. GPS would not work until you download some software. Rest of the things are good and attractive. Now you decide.

  • how much is the cost for this....

  • Superrrrrr.. i saw all program's in this model realyyyyy its very useful cellll.............

  • how much is its cost...............??????????....!!!!!

  • About to get this tomorrow, lets see how it works for me...

  • is this phone compatible with other service provider like aircel, bsnl, vodafone or airtel........?

  • hi i have black berry 8820 is a nice phone

  • i got mine as a gift, my first impression was that the phone was faulty since its camera was not functioning, then i tried to browse with it without luck.even after taking it to zain office and paying for a period of time.My humble Opinion is that the phone is crap.,

  • realy worths the money... i have it for about 8 months now.. I've never seen it Crash or Die, or w/e happends with most on the phones. RIM does some good stuff

  • 40 pounds does not equal $40...it's about $80 USD

  • Ya better put ur head bettwen ur leg and suck it!

  • For $40.00 it is a good deal, if no major wear nad tear is on the phone. The average price of this phone is $110 - $140. So, it's a good deal and dont worry abt camera. You can but a camera with the savings on this phone. Though this phone is mostly popular with the profesionals who cant carry a camera mobile to the office dye to the information security hassles, it's a veery good phone. An inexpenisve phone with all the features in the world and perormance is quite good. So check the phone for it's current standings and look. apart from it, you do not have to worry abt anything else.

  • A good deal to go with; have been using this phone for a while and find this worth for evey buck we spent.

  • Hello...I am a lady of 55 and not really into technology,,well not phones anyway..I have been offered a blackberry 8820 by a friend for £40 and wondered if this is a good deal, apparently it hasnt got a camera,I would value a feedback please,,[email protected] (i have set up this email address for replies to this question.many thanks in advance

  • it a nice phone but can i use a 4gig memory card on it?

  • bullshit phone!! i think no1 is the blackberry guy!! only d person who dont hav even a spare minute from hiswork... will buy this phone!! nothing works fine in this phone!! Please Go For The Other Models!

  • It has biilt in WiFi but it can't be used .. the blackberry chat can only connect through data by the cell network which is payed. The google talk also can't be used over the WiFi .. I even don't know why thsy put this wifi.

  • hi i have bb 8820. how can i connect internet. we have wifi facility. but some people are said we need access from etisalat.i don't know its right or wrong. any one knows pls reply to me thanking you.

  • Everything is great except the download part of it it gets stalk when we want to download for the theme wats the way forward?

  • The best phone for enterprise, Never let you down, fast connects to WI-fi, Instant messaging is very quick. Keeping this phone from last 3 years

  • this phone is awesome, i dont even care that it doesnt have a camera, hasnt let me down yet, very fast connections

  • the phone is excellent it has superb speed and connects easily with wireless networks. Having no camera in it makes the OS operate constanly and continuosly I say there will be no hip cups with this phone

  • Everything is great except the trackball.I am using it does not work properly especially for downward movement. When there is sweat on hands more problem arise.

  • its sooooooo gooooood everybody should have 1 in the world goooooooooood

  • can someone help. How to change/ disable the password ? I have a 11 digit password. I want to get rid of the password. It is Enabled. Unable to disable this in the general setting.

  • its a fabulous phone i like d most

  • Excellent not camera, In my job is restricted!!

  • the best a man can get. i work in a security area where cams are not allowed. this phone is a blessing for me, since it has all the great function but no cam.

  • If you want a camera, buy a camera. The jack of all trades is master of none.

  • no cam yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy????????????

  • My only problem is the camera. Coz it means so much to my needs.

  • It is a great phone however, my concern is that the internet service is not independent of the expensive BB subscription hence I am not able to make much use of this technology other than receiving calls and sending sms messages.

  • Superb phone as far as ease in usage is concerned. The only problem is one has to subscribe expensive Blackberry Internet Service to make most out of it. I don't think camera is an issue. There are other phone if one want camera but many organisations specially BPOs do not allow camera so it's good. Battery life is also good. I am u

  • HI.please i dont know how to conect my blackberry 8820 with wi fi servise its real new to me

  • its a shame that such a bulky thing has no camere and the battery is giving me problems.

  • aint a fan of this make.someone convince me otherwise

  • hello! you should ask your phone company where you had the mobile contract with. they will verify your identity and give out the puk no. the puk code is asked in the case that the PIN Code has been entered more then 3 times wrongly. The PUK Code cosist of 10 numbers.

  • You need to install it from blackberry desktop manger.. make sure that the application is checked...

  • uhmm no cam?

  • where can i get the OS for this Blackberry? TQ

  • where can i find the document viewer menu? since i explored this phone i havent seen such feature.

  • no.. just go to media, click the BB button/menu, and then choose receive using bluetooth.. it's easy..

  • the phone find it difficult to receive data from other phone ever after bluetooth pairing

  • its a 9ice phone. Its durable and very rogged

  • Can someone tell me if this is the best phone to have. coz i've just ordered it.

  • the best blackberry "old" phone in the market

  • Used this set for long... excellent in performance and design...only deficiency is the lack of a cam...

  • such a big phone without a camera!!!

  • Hi he has really good performances. Full options except camera and not the really well interface of Os4.7

  • Can some one tell me about the performance of Blackberry 8820?

  • Need to re key in PUK nos. Coz, u must've keyed in too many times with wrong password. U can find the PUK nos with the sim card/size of a credit card..

  • Call your service provider (Airtel)

  • Hi All, This is Shalv from Mumbai (India). Would need a small help, I've a blackberry 8820 model which i was using with Airtel Mumbai TSP, suddenly the fone is asking for PUK code, can anyone help me in this.

  • i need know how my mobil read file .xls

  • You can use Wi-fi to connect to internet from any where not only to your home network. But, not all wi-fi zones are free, you need to pay and key in the login info to access some wi-fi networks. This is a complete connection to net.

  • it might be .xlsx file u used.... Try save as to .xls. And try will work

  • I am not able to open excel files on my BB, can somebody help me

  • 8gb

  • hello it`s work to browse internet i use my phone like that .

  • Hey i have got this cell as free gift on my Lenovo laptop.

  • Can somebody explain how the WiFi works on the phone? I know what WiFi is, I just don't know if it's a complete connection to the network to browse internet or just be used to connect to the home phone.

  • wifi yes

  • the biggers memory can use???

  • this phone i do not recommend. It broke the first time i used it. That was $600 watse.. Luckey for me i had insureance. DO NOT GET THIS PHONE!

  • Uhmm Sir, all blackberry's have bbm.

  • I thing my BB OS is version 4.2. I tried downloading 5.0. It said that my system does not support it!! Can you help? I am not able to either send invite or receive invite..

  • does this device support VOIP Over WIFI..??? Pls let know...

  • 8820 has a rocking messenger

  • Does the Blackberry 8820 have Blackberry messenger? I do not own a blackberry but am searching for the perfect one. Not sure if all blackberrys come with BBM or not.

  • Can it run VOIP applications?

  • Also you can install applications that doesn't require data plan, like games etc...

  • The phone is really good, this is my first Blackberry and I'm surprised with it. Although I don't have the data plan, I can access web pages via wifi, and with Palringo or JiveTalk I can access IM with notifications. It doesn't have camera because its a professional oriented phone but its a very good phone. One thing you should take care before buying a blackberry phone, specially if it was used by other person: the blackberry phones needs to be unlocked by the carrier in two ways: the sim card lock and the BB Pin lock. If the sim card lock is on, you can take the phone to a unlock store and have it unlocked, but if the PIN is locked, you will need to call the previous owner of the phone to tell him to call the company which provided him the service to request a BB Pin unlock for the phone, so you can use all the blackberry features like internet, Messenger etc... If you use the phone with sim unlocked and BB PIN locked, you can only make calls and send sms ONLY. You could access webpages via wifi but not via carrier with the Pin lock on.

  • THe black berry icon right next to the track ball on the left is the menu key

  • I have been using it for a while now...I would give a 5/5 to this device as a professional's phone, 3.5/5 for Internet, but only because it is limited to GPRS data tech. It has a very slim casing and the form factor is also well distributed along the weight so 4/5 goes to the overall exterior. 4/5 for ease of access and compresinve menu system.... In summary, I really appreciate this device from RIM and would therefore, recommend it to people who has never tried BlackBerry and want to test it as their first. However, this phone should have had camera to make it more competitive to other smartphones.

  • i got 8820 blackberry and i am having trouble getting the menu on. i have tried all the buttons but still no menu can any one help?

  • Can we receive emails without subscribing to local service provider.

  • this would have been a great phone if not for two very important things: 1. the "pearl" is its weakest link. very easy to get damaged 2. if no.1 happens to you, the technical service REALLY sucks! one year to get a replacement unit - in the Philippines anyway.

  • I'm using the Javelin 8900 and by looking at the 8820 specs and my experience with my handheld, i'd totally recommend the Javelin. Compare & decide yourself:

  • Which is the better choice to buy, based on the prices and features BB 8820 or 8900 Javelin? Thx b4..

  • Abdulla, is it Dhiraagu or Wataniya, as per my knowledge we cant use blackberry phones in maldives.. i mean with all the features

  • to abdullah they do have the settings it depends in who you speek to and how you ask for them make up a big story by saying i have an unlocked blackberry and i need the settings can you please give them to me please or something like that or just make the phone call last 20 mins and make things revolve around the fcat that you need them and you will be set up with them then

  • Hi Guys, I just got my BlackBerry service activated on Vodafone connection; and the feeling is awesome. I have synchronised all my business and personal accounts on it. I am also endless chatting with my friends on Yahoo Messenger, Gtalk, MSN Messenger and of course BlackBerry Messenger. THIS DEVICE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD.... Kudos to Research In Motion. Cheers

  • I have sme problems in getting GPRS settings for the set.my mob network operators say that they don't have the settings for this set.can anyone help me out with this.

  • Hi you can ring a company that will ping your sim card to track its location. search the internet to find 1. we use a 3rd party that offer tracking to our haulage companies we sell mobiles too. sorry i dont know the company name =/

  • You watch too much james bond.

  • last i checked. i thought when they say GPS, it means that the CUSTOMER can us gps as in know where they are. its not like the service provider can track where every1 is at. Thats a violation of privacy practices are in accordance with all Federal and provincial Laws and regulations. so GPS is only when you need it on Hikes and drives and such .... but i could be wrong??

  • Hi how can we track our stolen 8820? since it comes with a GPS. is there any way from which it i can see its current location?

  • Hi everybody> Is there anyone upgraded hid BB 8820 to newer version 4.5? I've installed the file to my desktop and then connected my BB 8820 to desktop and started to upgrade. But later when the process was finished, still the same old version was on my BB 8820> Any body can help and let me know hoe to get it done. Or is there any special way to upgrade? • can anyone tell me how can we see the saved files on memory card using phone. i mean i want to see the files i saved using datacable on my phone. i m using it for more than a month but could not understand how to view files saved on my phone memory / memory card

  • We live in an age when unnecessary things are our only necessities...

  • Hi Asif, Your suggestions were really helpful. It worked and I was able to transfer some important files to my device. Well 1 question, will this work even when I'm transferring office documents? Where can I save them? Regrds, SANKALP

  • Thanks Asif, I'll try out this method. Just hope it works. Bye, Take care.

  • Why are you not refering to op manual? Fly through it... yot'll enjoy you Blackberry :) asif

  • Hi all, BB 8820 is a nice device to use. But I'm facing several problems. 1. The phone gets paired to other devices but does not transfer data. I tried this for a hundred times, but failed. 2. Facing difficulty in setting up my desktop sync software (I want to synchronize my contacts between the desktop and the device) 3. The alarm will just not go off on time. (I was late for office because of this.) 4. What is the highest capacity of memory card that I should go for in this device - 2, 4 or 8 GB. Does is become slower with 4 GB and up memory card? Anybody out there who has a fruitful experience of using this phone, please help me with it. I URGENTLY need help with the Bluetooth and Sync functions. Regards.

  • this phone is just classy for young enterpreneurs ,i really i enjoy it coz i dont have to carry my laptop wherever i go to check may mails.where can i get it's pouch in kenya?

  • The 8820 can be setup to connect to free wifi hotspots. You can then access the internet, check email, update facebook...etc.etc.

  • just wondering, if i do not have an internet service with the company (ex: if i use this phone with a different company than At&t or t-mobile by unlocking it), could i still use the wifi ion the hot spots?

  • hey can somebody help me how to use the calender for appointments. it doesn't beep when the appointment is set. how do i make it ring or snooze when the appointment timing pops up...? thk you

  • so how much this phone cost???

  • do u know the settings to run gprs through mobile phone plzzz reply

  • The BB8820 is really a wonderful gadget even if it has no built in camera. The only problem I encounter is its SCROLL. I've been using this unit for just six (6) months but my scroll is already malfunctioning terribly. Additional issue for me is that there is no local service center for BBs in the Phils. and repairs can only be done in Canada. This, plus my service provider has no available service unit for the longest time ever.

  • Hi, iam using Nokia E61 and its great specailly its browsing, i just love it. I am thinking of getting BB8820 mainly for email & browsing. Is it worth buying 8820 it & how would separate both of them.

  • is it true that the wireless lan only works with bb servers? so in my home should i pay for internet?

  • Thanks for your post. I live in Canada and I travel to U.S. a few times a year. I believe in these two countries you need to pay extra to get BlackBerry service as you mentioned and it's not free! Without the extra BB service your BB is an ordinary handset like others! This is what I know, Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you in advance.

  • Blackberry supply the additional Blackberry service to your mobile (for a fee), which allows you to surf web, use instant messenger, push up to 10 e-mail accounts to the handset, message any blackberry in the world for free, and dependent on the model you get will have free gps service as well.

  • Dear bb user, I am considering to buy the BB8820. For me it is very important to be able to write short reports and summaries for example in word and or excel. Is this possible with the device or can one just read (view) these kind of documents? Tnx for your reply.

  • I'm a phone freak too, I buy new phone twice a day...but I really live this phone I'll keep it for 2 days now...

  • Can someone please tell me what is the main difference between BlackBerries and other business phones like Nokia E51 or E71 or any other business serries phone? Email and internet surfing is my major priority. Thanks

  • I have 4.6 BlackBerry Desktop Manager ENG with Media Manager. Anyone help me how to upgrade the firmware version of BB 8820? I currently have device Version 4.2

  • I am a Phone freak as some may say, but i can'thelp it if i change my cellylar phone every 3 weeks.....I say it because i ca and i have the money....But i have used this Balckberry 8820 for 3 weeks now and i love it so i will actually keep it longer but i also have the new Xperia 1 which i totally awesome.........But i always loved Blackberry.....

  • I'd stick with this blackberry rather than Nokia unless 3G speed is priority. User-Interface of BB is much friendlier and easier than Nokia. Well, at least for me. But if you're using this phone to get real-time stock quotes, Nokia is the one. Actually, Samsung Instinct(i900 Omnia would be more than beautiful) is the one you want.

  • which one is better to buy for mainly e-mail and Internet browsing BlackBerry 8820 or Nokia E61 please anyone help me? Both are Camera-free!

  • Please anyone help; How much MHz? How to install applications on Memory card? Where to get free applications for BB 8820?

  • Black bary is very nice phone, i use it for one and half year, and this time i use2 this phon. thanks for group.

  • I purchased this phone last week on the day iPhone 3G's sales were rolling out. In general, BB8820 just looks great: very professional and suits me well (I work in the investment area in Vietnam.) Secondly, the key board is so great (this is the first time I use BB.) The next point that I like about BB is the market share of BB in US market at the time of this writing is still some 40-41%! And the fourth and last point I like BB is it is not equipped with a camere, but instead with GPS. Thank RIM for this phone.

  • Once you connect to WIFI you stay in WIFI. If the WIFI signal is lost or not as strong the phone will actually ask you to connect to network or wifi once again. Hope that helped.

  • mxit I mean

  • can someone please tell me if this phone can take mxt..

  • Wondering if the internet from the carrier/provider kicks in if the signal strength is stronger than your wifi connection?

  • Great phone! the tracker wheel is genius!

  • just picked one up today, great phone!

  • there is no charges using the W-lan as long as u have the WiFi setup, u need to pay for the gprs to your services provider

  • m using this mobile its really nice..... must appriciate the inventer...

  • Any1 have any idea which is better in terms of performance, 8820 or the 8320?

  • Are there fees to be paid for using wi-fi or gps?

  • I have only just started using a 8820 and I'm having problems connecting to my full Outlook Inbox. I can receive the e-mails that come into my main Inbox but I can't view any e-mails in the Inbox sub-folders. Can anyone help?

  • I've never owned a BB, Ive always had Sidekicks but have recently thought of getting this phone. Does anyone know if it supports different e-mail accounts (POP3, Gmail, and IMAP4)?

  • Gr8 companion. Just got it a few days ago. Cant synchronise with my PC. Any suggestions!! I wish to change the ring tone cant find the menu to do it. Thx.

  • This is a good Blackberry for those who prefer a stylish Blackberry than a Blackberry with a camera .

  • i cant recieve wi fi radio. Can anyone tell me how to do it ?

  • 8830 also provides global roaming on GSM/GPRS at 900/1800 Mhz (i.e. within US one uses CDMA by the provider ; outside US...one can use GSM over the mentioned dual-band frequency)

  • Hey Ray!!! 8830 is the CDMA version of 8820, which is GSM based

  • Question: i live in canada, i am very interesting in this phone and looking to purchase it... but i am stuck between this and the 8830 World Edition. If someone could clarify the differences that would be great

  • this phone llokk wicked in white yow i seen it gotta get one crazy features

  • i was wondering if you have to pay extra monthly for the wifi and GPS beacuase some1 said you have too... wouldnt the wifi receive signals just like a laptop?

  • Neither this or the BB 8320 is faster than the other BUT this packs more features than others because of the GPS & WiFi; but you loose the 3.5mm jack. NOTE: this supports 4GB MicroSD cards that I've seen by varying ppl. However I've yet to see anyone purchase and use an 8GB MicroSD card to work in this 8820/8120/8320 model.

  • Its my first BB and its fantastic once you get rid of AT&Ts blocks. Got BBmaps to work so I can bypass Telenav, wifi is great, download Beamberry to open and read .pdf, word documents etc. My only complaint is that the speaker isn't taht great when playing music, but then again its not a media phone.

  • this is my dream phone

  • documents are not opening on my 8820 can any one gige suggesions

  • wats the best berry peeps ? and if so why

  • The standard micro SD cards go up to 2GB, the 8820 is meant to support SDHC cards which at the mo go up to 8GB, so on paper it should support those, but I have not tested this myself so if anyone has let us know.

  • Hi, ive been trying to find some information about the expandable memory on this phone. Ive been told conflicting things such as that its maximum memory on a sd card it can take is 4gb and other information saying only 2gb...does anyone know what is the limit for this phone? thanks.

  • Lan Istanboull_i yes you could sync with MS outlook

  • hi, im fm istanbul turkey. im interested in buying a bb but i need to know whether i can synchrinize a bb with outlook. can anyone help me? thks

  • What is the maximum number of contacts can I have?

  • can you create a group in the 8820 for sending one sms to multiple recepients??

  • just wondering if its faster than curve 8320 or 8300?

  • att replaced my htc 8525 loser with this beautiful thing, only prob is they've crippled the GPS u have to subscribe to their crappy service

  • This is a business phone so put the business features first, such as 3G & HSDPA, before you add the gimmicks such as cameras.

  • I am looking for one of these bad boys. Mpyk, you have stollen my name. What is with that?

  • Could anyone tell if blackberry maps on 8820 is locked as I am unable to install the application , infact I AM UNABLE TO INSTALL ANY APPLICATION FROM DESKTOP SOFTWARE TO THE HANDSET. also want to know if orange-UK has locked the handset for installling all the 3rd party applications thanks

  • ok probably the coolest BB to date considering wap, and a2dp BT ...sweet but where the camera man! ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!rim is sooooo...

  • RIM will NEVER sell blackberry, it makes a huge amount of profit and is constantly growing. Microsoft will run a package called good email eventually but there are no talks when this will be released. Dont listen to the comment regarding blackberry being sold its rubish.

  • There is a rumor that Microsoft will take over blackberry

  • They make the announcement in Waterloo ON, CANADA but they first go and launch it in the UK and France. Whats up with that? I live 20km away and I dont get a taste!!

  • jn4u, you should listen to him. This phone isn't for students looking for the trendy phone of the season. It's for suits, that's about it.

  • If this phone had 3g,a camra and a radio it would be the ultimate mobile phone and pda

  • i'm getting frustrated people asking why bb8820 doesn't have a camera?bcoz it's for adults only...peace

  • this is it! been waiting for blackberry with wi-fi and it's like dream come true...long live rimm!

  • man, been waiting for this phone to come out in Australia, how much longer do i have to wait???

  • the highest class, 10 points to the target!

  • They need to have some better clarity on the GPS feature as there are a huge number of inconsistencies on that feature from what ive read on the net ... not to mention a lack of Australian maps ... but they didnt forget Moldova and other obscure little euro countries ?!?!

  • only thing left for BlackBerry to do with the next model they release of the 8800 series is to include "HSDPA 3.6 Mbps" capability ... besides that one shortfall, this phone is as close to perfection as i've ever seen.

  • I agree with Black Berry 8830 user! But adding UMTS/HSDPA won't harm anyone.

  • i totally agree with...Blackberry 8830 User.

  • There are two types of BlackBerries: the first is strictly for the suits who aren't allowed to have camera's on their phones for security reasons mentioned already (ex. BlackBerry 8800 series), the second are for students or those who run a small/personal business like a wedding designer where a camera would be useful and convinient. (BlackBerry Curve). The way people rate phones is ridiculous. Just because it doesn't meet your needs, you don't rate it bad. Those who rate phones low (such as this one) are those who are avg. joe's who have to buy the phone and pay for data and are angry because it's pricey. Suits who have this don't worry because the company fully subsidizes for them so they don't incur a data fee like the rest of us. Don't try to be trendy and cheap at the same time.

  • can BB8820 also edit doc/xls file, or only view? Can please anyone help me?

  • i can't believe the voting results on this phone! it just shows you that people that haven't used a blackberry have no idea. i have had 3 different blackberries in the past and currently own the 8800 w/ gps. this is an awesome phone. the 8800 is the first phone that i use every feature on a daily basis. i can't say that about any phone that i've owned in the past. wifi is a great add. cameras on a phone are a joke. if thats what is keeping you from wanting this phone than the jokes on you!

  • I agree with kibiras's comment.

  • don't need and don't want a camera just waitig pationtly for the BB8820,hop it come soon

  • a little late, but excellent phone for business. It has everything. Next upgrade can be with 16mln colours, maybe larger resolution, wlan with n support, 3g connectivity. Maybe smaller (not qwerty) bb version with wlan. Should stay without camera

  • I dont know whether i should get the Blackberry 8820 or the Curve... This one doesnt have camera...but it has wifi and looks better!

  • I cant stress this often enough... it's a business phone and putting a camera on it would be a stupid move due to security limitations in big companies (so its no phone for your corner supermarket businessman). These whines here are cool. Lots of shouting but no explanation why someone says a certain thing. Argueing on the internet is just for the lose :)

  • Only now you're thinking of wifi and still short of camera? I expect blackberry to be in the WIFI business years ago, but no, you only concentrate on email. I always wonder why. Most of your phone models are actually good with wide/big screen and good keyboard which are good for poor sighted people like myself. I think you should start adding in the camera (stick to 3MP) for your next model then your phone will one of the the market.

  • Needs a camera!!!

  • They will not Manufacture phone with complete specs, basically this is for business. but still we need the Camera and FM radio for leisure agree,.. phone 8820 still sucks. Please complete the full specs.

  • No camera is a good thing, as it allows it to be brought into secure areas. As for radio, who needs it?

  • I agree that Blackberries don't need a camera. Unless they are 3G and come with a video-call camera (that can ONLY be used for video calls). Some are just being drama queens though. Phone manufacturers hardly put cameras there against your will - if you don't want it don't buy it. Phones with camera's have a better resale value and the better the camera, the more you can sell it for once you don't want your current model any longer. The SHARP 903SH still sells for nearly US$300-400 and is almost 2 years old. Harlekkin

  • The reason why majority of Blackberry Phones do not have any camera - it's a Business phone used to comply with most COPC standards. In short, it's a GREAT BUSINESS PHONE that complies to international standards.

  • No Camera - No FM Radio then how business ppl can entertain in thier leasure time. so they need to purchage another phone for entertainment ?. its a damn waste phone.

  • Camera on mobile is something that i feel totally unnecessary. To me it is something un-wanted which is imposed on me against my will. It never does the job up to the mark that I would accept as satisfactory. And I dont want to pay for something that i dont want. I feel this mobile set is on the right track.

  • Has the casing and keypad different from 8800 or is it identical?

  • Once again it is so frustrating to see people commenting on the fact that it does not have a camera, look at all the features it does have and the people that it is aimed for... it spells out Business! great business handset!

  • If I See One More Post About "no camera or radio" In An Obviously Business-Oriented Phone's Comments Section.........

  • Hey gr8, i was looking for wifi in BB.

  • again, no camera

  • cool phone but lacks a 256k display and a camera as well.. over a period of time blackberry shud try to come up with a fully loaded device

  • Great phone. So what if it has no camera.....its geared more towards business ppl who dont need a camera anyway.

  • a blackberry has wifi? WOW. now i don't want the iphone at all... i'm sticking with the professionals choice. once you go blackberry you never go back

  • Why no touchscreen and no 3G from RIM??????

  • Perfect device for business people!

  • Finallyyyyy a Blackberry with WI-FI wohooo! I Like this phone ;o) good work!

  • it has gps nav but how is it? comes near tomtom? how about europe/eastern europe?

  • wow this is good i like it hawwtt

  • 65k display??? OMG

  • Oh and it 'lacks' a camera. Something that will be much commented on here I think. But since BlackBerry's are aimed for business people and taking a camera is a no-go in many company's this really isnt a strange decision I think.

  • The WiFi is great, I just think it would be great if it would have UMTS/HSDPA aswell for when you arent near a WiFi spot. Still Im glad they offer a BlackBerry with WiFi now aswell. Thanks RIM!
