to get a newer software update do this: settings>>>apps/applications manager>>>slide into all apps option>>> look for the green android icon for google frameworks>>>> clear chache>>> clear data>>> force to stop it. then manually look for software update. ( must try several times) and also try rebooting the device, mine was updated to 5.0 lollipop at the fourth try.

I was having a hard time after my phone got an update from BLU. It would shut off, reset, get stuck... You name it. I did a hard reset. Now it is working perfectly. Only one problem the charger port is not working well. I have to move charger plug all around just to get it to charge. They don't have anybody local that can fix this small issue

I bought the Pure XL for its large screen, hardware specs, and low price, because I'm optically hampered and financially strapped. In short I got what I paid for. After 9 months its graphics display now crashes the system and causes an instant shutdown, from which there is no restart for hours. Doesn't matter what is displayed, camera, internet, email, etc. Any display can make it go. Also, the screen arrived with a large crack, and has developed a second one. Didn't affect the digitizer,but shouldn't have happened to Gorilla glass! Battery appears to have developed a random short circuit also. It will be 75% charged one minute, and within one second drop to less than 5%. This happens when it is just sitting idle in the table. The last complaint is its inability to now handle alerts that occur when it is engaged in any other activity, such as email, phone use, internet activity, etc. The alert chime sounds for a microsecond, then the system crashes and can't be revived for a number of hours. Now looking for a NON-BLU replacement phone!

Not the best phone for the money. The hardware is good but the OS is crappy. Phone can not switch from WiFi to satellite internet fluidly. The icons on the OS can not be removed or added. The icon issue is bad because the phone will loose icons occasionally. Like most comments the phone does not get updated anymore and is stuck on android 4.4.2. Overall it is best getting another phone by spending more money because this thing will only last about a year or less.

This is the worst ever purchased. I received this new phone Sept 6 and in less than one week the screen shimmers and shows atleast 8 of said icon at a time. I tried to restore by taking out and replacing battery to no avail. It took one week before it settle down. Well Oct 2 the same rubbish, for days. I will have to go back to my old phone.........sigh ..BLU never again.

I so far really like the phone, but when making calls it makes like a blue ball and drops it. Making it hard to to the most important feature "Make a Phone Call" This is really a big problem when I enter the phone number and it does this. I must redial the number manually again. Is there a fix for this or is this like the worst phone for making a call I have ever had.

This is the worst phone I have ever had. My husband bought one too and can't believe the waste of money. It's slow, deleted apps, freezes constantly, drops calls all the time, you will be talking to someone and they all of a sudden can't hear you, blue tooth doesn't stay connected in the car and the list goes on. Piece of junk if you ask us. We are both in our 50's and have had alot of phones. Biggest mistake purchasing these.

Back up your data to a computer or sync data cloud service as much of your recent data on your phone possible, try a reset (power button + one of the volume buttons a quick Google search will tell you). Other than than the reset, you start from scratch with the device - having backup your data as I said above. Go to 'settings', select 'backup & reset', select 'Factory Data reset' Please do a backup before - this is format of the stored data on the device. Once that is you just turn on, check the wireless update, reinstall and hope for the best I guess, once it's successful you just copy your data back to your phone and live it up! :)

Kit Kat update on Monday April 11, 2016. I haven't been so happy since I got the device back in 2014. Radio now works 100% of the time, multi-task switching has changed to the more stock android methodology - just when I basically got use the original and a few visual tweaks to the interface (Dock & settings menu). I would love for the device to see more updates in less than two years though, that would make me feel special :)

Here still Android 4,2,2...no updates whatsoever. Tried several times. I bought the phone in Argentina, and I am now in Germany. It's a pity that such a high end phone can't be updated.

What I've found in shopping for these phones is that most retailers won't sell the higher end blu phones because they seem to make more money off of exploiting the midrange than the high end. if you want the higher end blu phones, like the pure xl, the vivo 5 and the vivo xl, you gotta shop online.

I've had this phone for a week. Initially it was great but for the last three days at least once a day it reports that many of the xxxxxx.apk's has stopped. upon pressing "OK", the next failure pops up. once I clear all the responses, I find that all my apps folders have been deleted and I have to set them up again. My wife's Blu Pure XL says 4G on hers I got her unlimited package and it says 4G not H+ or HSPA+ so It is true 4G but capped at 25 to 30 mbps that is still damn good there are LTE phones that can't even do that

I'm in Australia and read an article titled "Unknown phone makers out to crush samsung and apple" wich got me reading up about Blu, In the end i got my Blu Life Pure XL from ebay because no one over hear has heard of them which is stupid because i could have sold a dozen of theses phones to my work mates who had a play around with it the first day i had it! I've had it a month now and i am very happy with it. The down side is that i cant get a decent shock proof case for it anywhere :(

My first and last BLU machine. Wonderful smartphone, great specs, superb performance, but the lack of OS update isn't acceptable. It is better to own a updatable mid-range device from a big manufacturer instead off a frozen-in-time high-end. #unhappy.

You know, I like Blu company in general, they do great phones with very accesible prices. This particular phone I think is awesome, and the L260L version it's only 370$ on Amazon!!! But however, one of the great cons that most of Blu phones have is that, first, almost all of them aren't updateable to Android Kitkat :( which they should be able to, and second, most of Blu phones uses crappy Mediatek processor, ¿Why don't they use Snapdragon? And last thing, I think that for being a premium smartphone, a 2600 mAh battery isn't enough, they should use Li-Po batteries which they can be smaller in size and bigger in capacity, comparing to Li-Ion batteries they are much better

I was also waiting for an "invite" and got fed up. This phone from BLU was my purchase yesterday night when I deleted my profile (or sabotoged it) yesterday at OnePlus One forums. Plus there were 2 or 3 people there that already broke the glass on their phones and I know BLU uses the gorilla glass and thick not thin like it seems OPO does.

It has 3.5G which many times is detailed as 4G. That speed is between 3 and 4 G. Simple Mobile and Straight Talk use 3.5G

when a seller describes this (or any) item as 4g what they really mean is 3.5g or hspa+ whereby your maximum download speed will range from somewhere between about 20 to 40 mps depending on the device. if by 4g you are referring to actual 4g lte (ie maximum download speed of 150 mps) the answer to your question is no, there is no lte version of this device. rule of thumb: if it doesnt say lte or 4g lte, just 4g, what it really means is 3.5g hspa+

Just got my Blue Life Pure XL L260L! Love it! You have to get use of it, due to some differences in between S5 and the rest, but it is an amazing phone! Specially that you pay almost a half of S5, loaded with bunch of bloatware and half of the spec`s than this phone. Front camera amazing, but rear is OK. Some slide options are weird, but you can get used of it. No App direct option, all on the screen, but it is OK, upgrade to 4.4.2 KitKat later this year, 4G capable and fast, 32G internal, no SD expansion-plenty, for more use cloud. 3G ROM amazing! Price and quality is perfect blend.

Life Pure XL, only have option to slide down and up for answer and hang up, so when we put the phone it pocket and when we get calling from someone, then take it out it will automatic answer or hang up.
