BLU Studio 7.0 LTE - User Reviews

  • Why is the phone unusable for most people?

  • i enjoyed the studio7 but no service center in Nigeria i was using it one night it just snort down itself since then the so call service center in the country said they don't have the software to work on it pls i need your help for fixing my set.

  • This will be the best, most comprehensive report you will read about this phone. The phone is unusable for most people. I am a lawyer and bought it for productivity more than one year ago when it first shipped, to keep business calls separate from pleasure calls. I didn't expect much for the price. I got even less! However, I continue to use it because I like the big screen and don't want to squint my eyes trying to read things on anything smaller. It is unable to open the internet and do anything without substantial lag; forget about using more than one or maximum two apps at once. It had an operating system bug upon release that is fixed now that made it reboot several times per day. It no longer does that. It is unable to take a call when trying to multitask with two or more apps open; by the time the phone accepts the call, the caller has hung up or your voicemail has answered. It frequently dials by itself when opening the phone book to look for someone. When switching apps or opening an app, or opening the dialer -- opening anything for that matter, the screen goes black for about 15 seconds. If you want to use this phone, you must be very, very patient. Although it is what I would consider an awful phone with an awful camera that cannot capture anything with less than two seconds' notice (you press the photo capture button and two seconds later it takes the photo), the big screen is attractive to me, as is the unique ability (among today's dual SIM phones) to have a separate memory slot in addition to the two SIM card slots. The battery is horrible and will not last a full day with use. Plan to use it very modestly with a lot of idle time to last from dawn until midnight. I would not recommend buying this phone and have been intently waiting for something higher-end to arrive in the marketplace; the main two problems are the Mediatek chip and the 1GB of internal memory. Eventually, something in 2017 or 2018 will replace this outdated piece of garbage. But, I would stay away from Blu. It is a lying con artist. When I repeatedly called it about the OS bug that it eventually remedied, it told me to do a system reset and hope for the best -- and that it was not Blu's problem. I refused to do that, since I had installed only four apps -- all top-notch productivity software like MS Office and WeChat. What Blu did by passing the buck is not honorable or honest customer service. I will not buy Blu again because of what I have read about its "passing the buck" tactics.

  • It's Kool Everyone One Asks If That Is A Phone Or Says It's Huge, Which I Reply "That's What She Said..." The Phone Is OK But Turns Into A Lagging Turd After A Month Or Two... Don't Buy One!!!

  • I love blu products but specification of this phone is low. I love large screen mobile. I searched in google. I get many ideas. I compare blu studio7.0lte vs phab in lenovo both phones are having same screen size but specs are low in blu studio lte compare to phab. So i choose the lenovo phab

  • Lenovo phab is the best 7.0 inch smartphone compare to blu studio 7.0 lte. I have a two phones. I love large screen mobiles.lenovo phab is slightly larger than blu studio 7.0 lte

  • Pro 7" screen is great (only good thing about phone) Cons SLOW processor, becomes UNRESPONSIVE when multi-tasking. If you want fast, you will absolutely HATE this phone. Cannot even answer incoming phone calls when running another app (example, playing music). Reboots spontaneously. I regret buying it. Buyer Beware!!!

  • absolutely fabulous ,this is my 3rd Blu phone , had a Studio 5.0, thne Studio 5.5 , and now a studio 7.0 II - they worth every single penny , not a single glitch - worth the money and are comparable to know brands . in all fairness I don't use the studio 7.0 for selfies or profesionall photoshoots if you need something like that go buy an overpriced phone or just a digital camera ! I can make calls , take photos , use SKYPE and Whatsup and I am able to write easily text and sms.

  • For 120$ this phone has been awesome. Giant screen, good camera, added sd card and haven't even used it. Sure there are glitches but all so minor it is definitely worth the money. This is actually my second BLU phone and I don't see any reason to not continue with another when need be.

  • This phone only works for 2 months and after that it is problems. Waste of time with numerous issues.

  • Actually, I'm thinking it's more related to the 1GB of RAM... REALLY would have been nice if they would have built this with 2gb's of RAM... I would have paid an extra $15 for that option...

  • From *unknown sources* within security MUST be closed for obvious reasons after apps requiring same are used on phone.

  • Wifi high speed is good with this phone.Chromecast direct cast from app. has the best lip sync. Not standard Chromecast which lip lag.Chromecast does 1080HD so does phone screen.Apps MOBDRO /CINEMABOX/ SHOWBOX good when cast

  • Maybe Google security has the answer.Old number works fine but new number won't register.New owners after purchase just get an Android has stopped working notification.

  • One quirk with the international pay as you go system.Turn on data after you finalize data choice otherwise $50 in raw data may burn in a few minutes. To avoid this, enter and activate the data on switch AFTER mobile plan choice.

  • For this phone type :Go to data for each number and flip the turn on/off data switch.Note data on/off is independent for each number/being a dual sim.

  • Being a dual sim phone. Then regs for each number and service provider is different.2G is default for one and everything works well at top speed on the same setting combo 2G/3G/4G/LTE auto(for2ndnum).Such is life.

  • General comment.Avoid 360 security as any incorp. battery boost app may give severe heating in battery overload apparently.Malwarebyes or any non battery boost product works well and keeps the phone cool to touch.

  • If your processor is 4core,thats pretty decent, only higher is 8core.The problem is with the default service provider settings re 2G.Manually select 3G/4G slot .

  • Your 7LTE probably using the 2G setting by default.2G is the revert to dinosaur basic very slow setting.T his is a technical glitch.Reset to 3G/4G and this phone is very fast.May wander back to 2G (slow setting). The default should never be 2G but..Hope you get the point.

  • Complex phone:3G+4G slot wanders. Thus settings re service provider can backtrack to 2G with your problems outstanding.Be sure maintain 3G+4G slot for super fast work.

  • This phone is great for the price amazing screen size now I see all other phone small. The only problem is the processor slow, slow, slow.

  • Great display. Loved everything about this phone except the processor. It has a horrifically slow processor. Switching between apps takes forever. Sometimes I go to the home screen and it's blank ... for 15 seconds or more before the apps display. It's not a virus, as I have had several of these, and it does it from day one.

  • coz it supports 4g lte , just read the model name BLU Studio 7.0 LTE ...does it ring a bell? lol

  • Phone does not support 4G as said, also no phone cover available for the phone

  • blu studio 7 lte wont work with tmobile data.. I can get it to work threw wifi but not phone data and tmobile was no help

  • Do this work with metro pcs/mobile??

  • I recently got my Blu LTE and I must say it has surpassed my expectations. For $109.99 there isn't anything out there with this screen, decent speed, and if you want it to respond faster install Google now launcher, Google keyboard and Google messenger. Your experience with this phone with improve dramatically. Great job Team Blu for making a budget friendly phablet.

  • phone is slow as f*ck crappy os, ultra slow but well worth for the screen, battery size and dual sim , if anyone has a launcher or lock screen that speeds this phone without rooting i would appreciate it but really the os current speed even with the updates blu releases its garbage i got 3 year old androids on kit kat that are faster than this one

  • Everything is OK with me.For a little bit over 100 bucks, you have a phablet 7" LTE ,the Huawei mate 2 is the same specifications but it's 200 bucks. And I don't know why you have to reboot? I never do that because it works perfect,I had mine about 6 months and until now ,no problem.I got mine at B&H,american version with a latest Lollipop.Maybe you got a Chinese version?

  • I am appalled and disappointed by this phone. You have to reboot it every time you would like to use it. It takes quite long to respond to your touch. Definitely not worth the so called budget price. Misled and disappointed. will not purchase from this manufacturer again ever.

  • I have problems every time the phone reboots. Then I have to do a factory reset, and already tried two phones same issue with both. I'm ready to send this one back and go with the 6.0 If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

  • Yes! It's not stereo since most people ask. One speaker on top for phone call only and the bottom for music and so on.

  • I bought this phone and it is saying that the sim card is not detecting, how do I get this to work now

  • Then it won't be $120 anymore.

  • Not stereo front speakers.

  • yes on Amazon, less than 10 bucks, ordered me one, it is really nice....

  • Does it really have front facing stereo speakers?

  • I purchased 3 Blu Studio LTE's just a month ago. One phone is showing issues in the microphone, cannot hear clear audio speaking to someone. The other phone had been shutting down constantly and restarting often on its own. Now it did a shut down and comes back up with only the white Blu Studio screen. I have tried to reset the phone to factory but it continues to fail the reset stating cache issues. I have as of today issued my complaint to Blu and am awaiting a response. Hopefully they will do the right thing and trade me for a new one and be done with it all.

  • Same problem with mine! Not only that speakers went dead after only a month, but it was well taken care from moisture, bumps, electrical overcharge or any classic phone killer. Its screen also goes blank at least once a day and I have to restart it. Some times speakers show signs of life for just a few seconds and go mute again. Design problem? Or just bad luck???

  • They need to make a high end iteration of this device with 1440X2560 display, 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 820 processor and upgraded camera with 4K recording capability and better battery. I'm quite sure such a new iteration of this model will give a lots of phablets and tablets quite a competition.

  • All it needs is a 2GB RAM.

  • I only got my phone two months ago.it have never fallen or got wet .while speaking to someone the volume suddenly went. I have tried all the settings concerning column and sound and went through everything else but the sound still does not come on. All other features still work perfectly. But I'm no hearing when it rings. I feel the vibrate and can hear the caller on the phone when I answer but the phone does not ring and the videos have no sound. Can I'm please get some explanation on what's going on with it. I love my phone and do no want to replace it. Thank you.

  • where did you find case ??? I need one

  • Where are the cases for this phone !!!! I find it hard to believe they cannot be found ????

  • i need a case for my phone do they even make any?

  • you said your not a gamer or use your phone to watch movies..then why the bloody hell in this 2016 planet earth world would you need 7 inches on a display?? is it because you need a 7incher to replace your current 2incher ;)

  • I needed a phone that was tablet size, 7 inch seemed to fit my needs. Coming from a Nexus 6 I was willing to sacrifice some speed and screen dpi value. For $150.00 I'm quite satisfied with performance . I don't watch movies on a phone or a gamer at all. The Nexus 6 is a great device but it really surpassed my real life needs. I may root the device in the future but as it is it's a basic android OS with very little crap ware.( hello Samsuck !) I have it setup using Action Launcher which complements the device nicely . I can see my Nexus 6 visiting Swappa very soon.

  • Beware it doesnt support ORANGE network 4G in band 3 at 1800mhz, only can use EDGE service with ORANGE

  • Phone is excellent for the price. It does not have FM radio as stated by gsmarena. The picture shows speaker grills on both ends. Only the bottom one is used for sound (movies, songs, etc.) Top is the ear piece. So without headphones it is mono.

  • My phone is crazy, the prinscreen is in black and not respond. Please let me know how I fix this.

  • Got it for Xmas, superb phone for the cost. Surprisingly bright screen and fast, I really like it. And (I know a lot of people wonder this)--yes it fits in your pocket comfortably if you're a man of moderate to larger stature. It's (as of 12/2015) a pain to find a case for it though, fair warning.

  • not bad with the specs if you know how to valuate a device this will be a great cheap phablet with good specs

  • this is called to be a good phone.
