  • it came out around 2007 which it 4 years old already.

  • if you find please help me

  • slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • glofiish is very great mobile phone.perhaps bad

  • How do i change language my phone glofiish 800m

  • I used to own one for a few weeks... Sloooooooooow device, poor battery and very, very bad antenna. Did I mention it is SLOW? This thing is SO slow, it sometimes took more than 10 seconds just to open a sms! And I don't know how many updates I installed on this thing, it just stayed slow. Slow slow slow. And even slower!

  • no service or gprs signal no matter what sim card i put in it.

  • can u help me to unlock my cell cause it just says locked device :(

  • the mobile phone has all the possible contents but the batery runs so fast

  • tell me why is the battery running so fast then

  • Have used this phone for nearly 2 years, and I'm still liking the use of it. It's a good phone for someone that wants to be able to do everything. As with most all-in-one solutions, it does a lot, but not everything well. It tends to be slow, and there are probably a lot more optimized phones for wifi but they'd lack gps. Or they'd have gps but no bluetooth and a low res screen. Or a nice screen but no keyboard. Etcetera. It has all the connectivity you can have (gsm/2g/3g/wifi/bluetooth/gprs/edge/sms/mms/email/im(comes with MSN messenger standard)/FM radio) which is the most complete of any phone I have seen so far. 256 Mb of storage but can easily be expanded with microSD cards(which have the benefit of easily swapping out). Yes the phone is a bit slow sometimes but thats largely because of the superb screen. It comes at a price. Most people probably forget this: the screen is 640x480 whereas most competition is 320x240. This means the screen has 4 times as many pixels, which of course takes up more processing power. There's the issue of RAM, and to be honest I don't understand why there's not 128 or even more RAM in the phone. The camera I have tested against a bunch of other phone camera's like the LG viewty and I've come to the conclusion that the image quality is actually better (even though it's only 3MP instead of viewty's 5MP. Mega-pixels isn't everything.) Though looks aren't the most important for me, I don't find the m800 ugly, nor very attractive. It's got a business-like functionality-based appearance, not too flashy or hip, but not just a rectangle either. I like the symmetry of the front, and most of the colorscheme though i have no idea why they put a bronze plate in the middle. Usability for the phone is good. In my right hand I've got access to all the buttons, though the volume controls are hard to reach (I usually flip the screen to my palm to use the volume controls). The touch keys on the front (next to the joystick) are a bit fiddly, so I have them turned off, but others might like them. Best keyboard out there imo, has buttons that are about 20% larger then competitors with good tactile feedback and backlighting for typing in the dark. Having a slide out qwerty is not useful for one handed texting though it's amazingly fast with 2 hands (I can type blindly and while IMing people didn't even notice I wasn't on my pc. It's that fast.) The only problem I have is the build quality. Several people here have replied about it dying. Mine too is currently at the end of it's life cycle. Paint is peeling off on some places, the sliding mechanism feels a bit crooked and it's been turning itself off lately (started happening after the last time it fell). Though to be honest I haven't taken the best care of it and it's had a few drops to the floor. The M800 offers everything there's currently out there, in a small package that's not ugly, at an affordable price. I can definitely recommend it.

  • Yes it has, it's tucked away in the bottomright corner of the phone

  • I got this phone a little while ago and i loved it ti bits but the only downside is that it is really complicated to work an di spilled orange juice over it and nowhere is able to fix it

  • Ok, forget my previous posts, this being my second M800, I thought it was fine until for no reason after a few days it just went haywire. It kept flicking from the voice dialer to home screen !!! WTF !!! A hard reset sorted nothing :(

  • Sadly this only has a pitifull 64MB of RAM, then only about 20-30 after a boot up :( Other than this, the handset is good apart from the slow response when opening certain apps.

  • This handset takes my 8GB sandisk micro SD card no probs. Screen resolution is fantastic. Be aware that installing all the extra programs at boot up will eat up a lot of memory so only choose one or two that you really need. The qwerty keyboard feels nice and solid. (I'm using it to type this). Dont forget to install Opera web browser. Be aware that there is slight delay when opening certain programs.

  • i what t know if this phone has a pen thanks

  • Thankyou for the tip-will give this a go and hopefully problem solved-once again many thanks

  • When you take off the back cover you'll notice the phone turns off. This is because of a small switch under the cover (on the top left). In my case the cover didn't press strongly enough on the switch and that's why it kept rebooting. I pushed a LITTLE BIT of cotton in the hole of the switch to make sure it stays firmly pressed when the cover is closed. Now remember to take out the battery when u change the SIM because the cotton will probably keep the button pressed, even when you remove the cover.

  • my husband and I both have the Glofish E-ten M800 and we both experience the same problem as in the phone will frequently restart (shut down), does anyone else have this problem,if so is there an answer to it.

  • Has anyone found a fix for the freezing up problem? I have sent Eten a email but they have never got back to me. Please email me if you have a fix, [email protected]

  • I have too problems with this one, I have buy it from Italy, Mediaworld, from the first day the GSM do not work, battery work maxim 1 hour, and when I try to reinstall or torn to default it doesn't restart, at the Mediaworld they told me that I need to go to one at the official GlowFiish support technician, i find one and after 3 mounts they tell me that can be repair only at the producer country or to pay 300 euro for be repair in Milan... wtf ... soo... I have payed 600 euro, at the moment I have buy an phone that is now 280euro in offer at the same place that refuse my warranty first but now they accept to try to repair or change may phone. At the moment passed more than 4 mouth and I have an phone that i have no more than 1 day.... It's a good phone but the Eten must do something with the warranty at list in Italy.....be careful if you buy!!!!!

  • how long did u ave this phone because y probably did nt know how to work it.

  • i love this phone and their nothing wrong with it. people just dont know how to kep up with cellphones .They just what to break them. so please kkep up withthe phone stop saying it bad i know ow to work the phoe yeah dont.

  • do not buy it!! read here:

  • My phone came with Windows 6.1, it has a FM radio. I had an Asus P535 before. Compared to it the screen is very bright with nice solid colors, higher resolution. Sometimes when you scroll though you can see how parts of the screen are updated one after another. My device reports 49MB RAM which is less than the Asus (which was Windows 6.0, not sure if it matters). Overall if you start a few apps at the same time it becomes sluggish. I highly recommend buying a phone which has 128MB RAM in the spec. I press random soft keys while I hold the phone. They're almost unusable because of that and it's annoying that it will always alert me if I disable soft keys. Some applications will display very small icons in 640x480, eg. QIP. My battery seems to be worn out even though it should be new :-( Not sure if that's Eten or Windows 6.1 or battery type (reported as Li-Ion Polymer) - phone doesn't display battery level while charging. GPS seems faster than P535 even though specs say they're both Sirf Star III. I was wondering between HTC TyTN II and this phone and chose this one because of the higher resolution. The HTC handles better with a few apps running though because it's 128MB RAM. AGPS says it can't connect. Never used anything like that before so not sure if it needs any configuration - it didn't show options for that. Power button is hard to press with one hand. You have to hold the phone with the other hand otherwise you slide out the keyboard. The volume buttons are exactly on the opposite side so you have to watch out not to press them too. Stylus is placed near the mini USB port so it's hard to pull it out when the phone is connected. I found no way to turn off the phone. Pressing and holding power does not power off the phone, the manual says to TURN OFF in wireless manager and then just pull out battery. Battery cover is hard to open, I used an old SIM card to open it.

  • please read here about my bad experience

  • I have a good experience. Indeed it is a bit slow out of the box, but after some tweaks its behavior is as good or better than any HTC. Fast GPS. Besides it will offer a VGA screen etc etc really satisfied.

  • Has anybody had the same poor experience with the M800 as me? Took mine back after 2 days because phone would not work. Was told I had destroyed the phone software but was given a replacement. After one week the new appliance began to work intermittently then failed to charge. Went back for repair and took two weeks to return. Within two days again failed to charge. Back to Eten again who tell me there was nothing wrong, it just needed to be charged! I have it back for 4 days during which time the locking mechanism has only worked part time and on one occasion the battery went from 95% charged to 10% charged in 5 minutes. Either I am very unlucky or the product is rubbish.

  • Just sent mine back. I had it for about a month. It continually would lock up the phone portion and would be unable to make a call. Randomly I would get voicemails from friends asking why my phone was off ... when I had full bars and the phone was on. Additionally, it would refuse to power on until the battery was removed/replaced. All of that aside, the 64 megs of ram left the device very sluggish feeling, even after doing a clean install without all of the addons. The keyboard uses flexible material that seemed... cheap... to cover the keys. What this means is you need to push on the center of a key to get it to actually register. Above all, the softkeys were unbearable. When they were on, they were way too sensitive, and would register the wrong command all the time (try to hit the right softkey and get the Home page to launch). Turning off the softkeys was easy, but needed to be done every time the device was reset (which needed to happen frequently with all the lock-ups) and turning off the softkeys leaves you with only 1 way to navigate the phone - making it hard to use 1 handed. On top of that, once the softkeys are turned off the software will keep letting you know via a reminder that you need to turn them back on. Very annoying. Finally, the GPS seemed to take about 10-15 minutes to get a lock, even from a warm start. In short, I would not recommend buying this phone.

  • I had this phone not long back, but sold it shortly after. Too many issues with this phone for the price. I puchased an i-mate ultimate for about 14 more. Much better quality. Check them out at devicewire.com

  • Close friend of mine purchased M800. 2 days old was faulty, replaced by dealer. Following day new unit went completely blank, dealer advised to return to UK agent who repaired same, took a week. Repaired unit has failed again, blank screen,no power! Returned to dealer who advised that would try and resolve problem. Is there a problem with all Eten units or only the M800? Friend is at his wits end!

  • The difference between this and the M810 is the screen resolution. This has the usual 640x whereas the M810 has the usual 320x. This makes the M810 more stylish (in my opinion) and not as sluggish as the X800 or M800 BUTTTTT less res :( So it's up to individual to decide. Personally I like the high screen res. I can counteract this by not installing all the eten software and then only using the bare essentials. SPB Mobileshell 2.0 REALLY helps you love the higher res and rids you of sluggishness (a bit) -_-

  • Does this have an fm radio? What is the difference between this and the M810??

  • I am starting to have a few issues with this device. It seems that there is an issue with hard reseting the device using the method I mentioned below. When the message appears confirming the hard reset, you can either tap yes or no, it's default is no. However, when you try and select yes by either taping yes or using the thumb stick, nothing happens??!! I think Eten need to release a software update, but for some reason the serial Number needed to register the device on the official website is not valid???!!! so I am unable to download any update, etc from them. Eten do not seem to respond to any emails I send to them...:( so much for customer support. I had less problems from my O2 XDA Mini S...

  • The seeming lack of interest probably stems from the fact that this phone doesn't come up properly in searches. If you choose "all Microsoft" in Advanced Search, the M800 will not be in the results. Similarly, if you put QWERTY in the Free Text, the M800 will not be in the results. I contacted GSMarena about it a few minutes ago. I never would have known this phone was even here, but I met a person who actually has one and I was blown away. He told me he found it here, and I was stunned, as I am on here all the time and never saw it. Well, there you have it. Bad parameter entries, bad search results.

  • There is a typo in the sofware manual on the disc and the quick start booklet that came with the phone. It says to Hard reset the device, you need to hold down the Power button and the reset button together, release them together and then press and hold the call end button. Well, holding the call end button wont work, you need to hold the 'O' button, then keep this held down until a message appears.

  • @ Steve J. I'm not an expert but I might be able to answer your questions about 3D graphics and Weather the M800 might be true VGA. I installed a program PHM Registry Edit that lets me look at and edit settings, drivers etc. If I knew what Folder I was looking for, then maybe I could answer those questions.

  • @ Barry: To lock the touch sensitive keys you need to press the 'O' button twice quickly to lock/unlock those keys. That button is found just below the volume keys on the left side of the device. As for the 3D graphics and weather the VGA is true VGA,I need to investigate further on this.

  • Pride, thanks alot for the second review. It looks like on average you are satisfied with the product. Glad to see you're not having any RAM issues. Does the phone have 3D graphics acceleration? I hope Eten have enabled the video drivers. Someone on the i-mate Ultimate 9502 thread said that all phones with VGA res screens are not true VGA but in fact quasi-QVGA! When I asked him to elucidate I received no reply. Is his statement correct?

  • Can anybody tell me how to lock the touch sensitive keys. I have a problem with them being far too sensitive

  • Can anybody tell me how to lock the touch sensitive keys. I have a problem with them being far too sensitive

  • Just posted an update, needs to be approved by a mod first so should be up soon...

  • Branding is probably the reason Steve J. Did not post anything because of the lack of interest in this phone (due to the number of posts here). But as you asked... If you have used a windows based device before then you will be right at home with the M800. (I used to have an XDA mini s). The 2 mega pixel camera throws out some very good quality pictures, I was pleased with that. It supports 2.5mm jack for earphones, although you might want to invest in some better earphones than the ones that come supplied as they are not the best quality. Other things included in the box is a screen protector, a Glofiish branded leather case. No memory card included as standard though so you will need to buy one. Call quality through ear piece and loudspeaker is clear although they placed the speaker at the back of the device which was a strange place to put it as laying the phone on a table or chair will muffle the sound a little so for those listening to MP3's might want to place the phone face down. They put a short cut RAM icon on the home screen so that you can quickly close any running apps. The slide out Qwerty keyboard has a nice pale green glow to the keys when in use. The entire keyboard is 'flat' (the keys are not raised) this might be a problem for people with chunkey fingers. On another note it seems that an update for the phone is now available on Eten's site. For some reason I have encountered issues with registering My M800 on their site. Now I have sent them 5 emails about this to all their departments but they have not replied to any of them so support for this device is very poor to non existant :(

  • Come on Pride! You said you were going to treat us with a more detailed review in a short while. I have been waiting for a month to read it. What is delaying you?? I must say I am baffled by the fact that the M800 has generated little interest compared to the similarly specced i-mate Ultimate 9502. Even more absurd is the frenzy that has greeted SE's Xperia X1. It is not even out yet and has at least 35 times more reader's opinions and reviews than the M800. Could this have anything to do with the power of branding??

  • Hope everyone here knows that Capitel Wireless (H.O. in Delhi)Tel : 41053836 are the national exclusive distributors of ETEN in India. I bought my M700 from one of their dealers a year back.... Looking forward to the new releases:)

  • Ok, arrived yesterday and ive had a little play with the M800. VGA display is very crisp. It doesn't like the 3 network usim card much. Although I can make calls with no problems, it keeps displaying the network as Orange , O2 and constant changing to the roaming option. putting an O2 sim in and it was fine, so it doesn't like 3 sim cards much. Sometimes apps take 5 - 6 seconds to open even without any other programs running. Battery life is not good moderate usage will give you about one days worth of battery power. Speaker is not bad and is quite loud. I felt that the touch sensitive keys are more of a hassle as they are easy to press by mistake, although they can be locked if desired ( I never really use them). I will post some more a little later...

  • if you want to buy the m800, then you might want to try devicewire.co.uk its about 60 cheaper than expansys. I've used devicewire before and they are very reliable. Will post some points about it when it arrives in a couple of days time...

  • Anyone knows if m800 has a2dp profile in bluetooth spec? I think its very important today... BT has others features than just file transfer. Thanx

  • HTC TyTN II is the best of the best. Although the screen resolution is lower than M800, most of applications will run smoothly on the TyTN II rather than M800, because not all apps are suitable for the VGA resolution. Furthermore, the QVGA resolution is a standard for the WM 6 Pro OS. Then, the RAM is double on TyTN II (128 MB), so the device will run faster than M800. The TyTN II's camera is better than the M800's, having autofocus. However, if you want good JPGs, go for a digital camera instead a mobile phone one. TyTN II is the best!

  • Guys... I am in doubt, hope that you can help me! I want to buy a new PDA but I don't know if I buy the M800 or hte HTC Kaiser! Damn! I liked the VGA and the speed processor of M800 but only 64Mb RAM? What do you think?

  • Did anyone had prblems with the soft touch buttons? like clicking end call by mistake during a call! despite the specs. I saw couple of posts that the m800 doesn't support HSDPA!! does anyone has a feedback on that?

  • nice device, why kill it with only 64MB RAM???

  • -larger screen size(resolution is good) -a good camera(3mp or 5mp autofocus, xenon) -and multitouch capability 640*480 not big enough?? seriously that's bigger then most smartphones on the market A good camera is something you'll get if you get a Digi camera Mulit-touch was patented by Apple for the iPhone, only way Microsoft would implement it into their software would be to WAIT TILL WINDOWS 7 comes out

  • this phone is far better than the iphone. what are you talking about at least for a smartphone it has HSDPA!

  • It lacks 3 imp. things for me: -larger screen size(resolution is good) -a good camera(3mp or 5mp autofocus, xenon) -and multitouch capability I palyed around with x500 best phone I ever held in my hand... Only competition I found for Eten since now is the IPhone witch of course has more - than the eten.

  • The M800 does have an FM radio.

  • If you want FM radio, buy X800

  • Where is FM Radio ????

  • please i wound to have copy of this phone cuz it look well like business tool and notepad. i thick it well be a good product in market if the priuce is reasonable. That just the thing

  • Andrey - if it uses the same screen as the X500+, which it most likely does, then yes it is 2.8 inches @ VGA resolution.

  • actually i'll buy this one whenever it is out on the market co'z im toooooooooo rich - Richie Rich

  • looks like eten x500.... i m going to buy m700... shall i wait for this phone??

  • I wonder what is the size of its screen. It main competitor I-mate 9502 has 2.8 inches. If this one had a bigger one, it would be a definite advantage.

  • Its....sooo...ugly. Well the front is, the keyboard I can live with. Why can't eten make this phone light up like to g500 did? that was a visual 'wow' factor for that phone.

  • Does this model support SDHC - High Capacity micro SD cards ? (Everything above 2Gb)
