I think you better look for other brands and unit. There are android phones that has greater specs than Gionee P4 as of now. Some has a low price, if you are buying this phone way back 2014 its good, but now 2016 better think twice or trice :D

If u dont want to read my long suggestions to the company to improve their quality .... Just listen ... DONT BUY THIS PHONE ... And look for either Xiaomi Redmi2 or Lenovo A6000 which offers great quality however battery issue is almost same with them like this one(Gionee Pioneer P4) Or if your budget is around Rs. 10k then buy Asus Zenfone 5 or Micromax Yureka.. If you want ''why''.... you should not buy this phone then read below... I have suggestions for this Company.... which I think certainly help you become a more popular smart phone brand... Your battery and display is really poor.. The display offers very poor viewing angle... Colours are okay though little looks washed away... PART ONE:::: Everything can be tolerated but not this power issue.. Your battery takes at least 3 hours to get fully charged and 3 to 4 hours to get fully discharged... humorously... whether you just browse files or net... I am really surprised that your battery ( gionee p4 ) showing 100% goes down at once to 99% after 20 to 30 secs and 5 minutes later it will be around 90% to 93% left.., I think even lesser.... The gionee p4 battery drains like ticking away of clock time.... I am truly saying this using your gionee p4... while still charging it up.. Even your display is really poor... It offers very poor viewing angle and can not be used in night.. Eyes start burning even in just 5 minutes and headache begins... To do anything on it you have to keep it 180degree parallel to your face... I could not write anything using your keyboard because it just glares in my eyes.... So I installed a white keyboard (Iphone keyboard) and swift key 3 trial keyboard... And still using this... I wouldn't have purchased it... If I knew that it has really a poor battery backup and a very very poor display.... offering very poor viewing angle.... The CPU performance is good though at times it lags.. rarely.. Even the net speed is good... The camera is average in daylight and sometimes it takes good picture in daylight but without any detail and depth perception as you don't know which object is closer or at distance.. I REALLY WOULD HAVE RECOMMENDED THIS PHONE TO ANYONE IF IT HAD A GOOD DISPLAY AND AT LEAST AVERAGE BATTERY BACKUP... I mean 7 hours Apart from this three issues the phone is good.... So please you (GIONEE COMPANY ) use an lcd Ips display instead of this poor TFT screen in a Rs 9000 around phone. .. A TFT screen does not suit in a 9k phone.. People are complaining about its wifi problem when a kitkat update is done... So in fear.. I have not yet upgraded to kitkat.... My another suggestion is please do provide an OTG support in your upcoming phones specially those which cost 8k.... Camera could have been made better... Display enhancement is a must... I can't bear such poor display and my future brand is never going to be Gionee.. Unless I have a first hand experience of a second hand gionee mobile from someone.... Above all, the most important thing is.. You poor battery backup.. 1700mAh or 1800mAh or 2000 mAh does not make much sense if it cannot last a day.... They are all the same... just like a 3mp or 5mp or 8 mp camera become same.. Because a good 3mp camera can work much better than poor 5mp or 8mp camera... Do provide a good camera even if it is just of 3mp... I will prefer this 3mp one instead of a fraud 5mp or 8mp camera.... This part has been written after having experienced it for two months.. A battery should last at least for 7-8 hours when used.... For the first week ... in the beginning this phone's battery lasted only for 3 hours or a little more but below 4 hours .... However now it lasts for 4 to 5 hours when surfing net... I would have bought Xiomi Redmi1 if it were available in my local store.... I have made huge mistake by buying this product... and by not buying Samsung Core Prime or Micromax Canvas A1... which a better display ..better camera and a better back up... Good luck with that...

I'm using this mbl since one year. The experience i have with this smartphone is awesome. Currently i have 257 apps of which 189apps belongs to third party and it is still working as butter. I have a problem regarding my newly updated Gionee P4. When i plug my device in a computer no prompt are showing up for USB storage, just charging like you plug it to an electric outlet. I can't also find the USB MASS STORAGE option in my phone. Hi, Im one of the victim of Gionee pioneer p4 service centers are worst, never bother what service they give like they change the internal parts as they wish,and the other time if you visit any other service centers they say its a kind of liquid damage and its out of warranty an asking me to pay for 6000k but the new mobile is for 7500.i did not know when i did liquid damage to my phone even i take utmost care about handling mobiles...Finally moral of story is don't go to Chinese and Indian brands trust only big brands at-least their service and service network would be better.

A quick charging battery & that drains quickly as well indicates that the battery is close to its last days. So long charge time for battery is a good thing to some extent as it indicates that the battery can hold charge for long. But if its getting restrictively long .. then do get it checked. Its probably the charging circuitry which is screwed.
