HTC Desire 825 - User Reviews

  • A crapy phone,,, total loss of money. Shuts down when battery reaches 35.... garbage

  • Why they made this phone i dont know. It isnt the one u must buy. It totally sucks. U will get better in this price.

  • the phone dropped in water, some local technicians are saying the lcd is damaged

  • Battery issue occurred within 6 months. Phone turns off when the battery reaches 50%. Google account syncing is delaying, it does not happen immediately even if the phone is on WiFi.

  • This is solid device. I've bought it second hand, first man used it for 2 years, and it works solid even now. Display is big, that is great for multimedia. Phone is noy slow, messenger, youtube, netflix, web browsing, messaging... everything works fast and fluid. For outdoors it's not that great because brightness is not too high. But it's usable. Battery life isn't actually bad, considering it's 2 years of usage. I can get around 3:30 hours of SOT. Sound qualitty via the loudspeaker is okay, it has stereo speakers. Via earplugs is great. Camera is probablly one of few things that are not good on this phone. Daylight shoots are okay (not good) but okay from both cameras. Night shoots are really bad. Overall this device is pretty solid, if you can buy it for low price. I've bought it for 50 euros, and for that, it is great!

  • Device is pretty good, does the job and is a pretty standard phone. However after 1 year of using it, it started having issues with the battery and doesn't charge every now and then. The performance is also getting slower evidently over time. With only 16GB internal space and a 2700mh battery, you're better off getting another phone for it's price that doubles the specs.

  • After 5-6 months of usage (business purposes: calls, messages, mails, photos) the phone started to have problems with battery. The charging stops at certain time at certian %, and it stays like that until you restart. Sometimes when someone calls you the phone goes into unending vibration loop which is solved, again with restart. One of the things is when you try to unlock your phone via code/pattern and the android/phone decided it is wrong even if your code is 1111, the only way to solve it is.... yes restart the phone.

  • ah need more opions about the phone cuz iam planing to buy it

  • If you need reliable phone this is NOT one you want. It was ok in first two months. Than it started to be very slow and not responsive. It been on service two times in two years. First time microphone died and second time motherboard got fried. Both times resulting complete data loss. Gyroscope is so bad that auto rotation is almost not usable. It rotates screen by itself with delay *because its slow* resulting wrong buttons to be pressed further resulting opening and closing applications by itself, sending wrong messages to wrong people. When its cold outside if battery is bellow 30% and you turn on your camera phone shuts down instantly. This phone also like to shutdown randomly when battery is is less than 30% It happened many many times, during talks with clients, during gps navigation (even when plugged on charger) Navigation its terrible as well (tried all apps out there). If you want quickly to search for a street and navigate to it, you better stop aside road and give it some time, cuz for this phone this task takes more than one minute to complete. When you need to receive call you will know it before it rings, it will start to freeze and make weird sounds *flickering cracking sounds from spicker* and than eventually will ring , resulting people who called you asking you why did you took so long to answer. Phone is made of very cheap plastic and it bends. HTC was great company indeed but this phone is maybe ok for someone who have a lot of spare time to waste. Overall impression is very bad, from great expectations i degraded my opinion to this very bad review. Believe me, this phone is worst than my english :p 3/10

  • Good phone for the first 8 months. The selfies are awkward to take because you need to move the phone away from you more than usual. It endured many many small falls (while using a case and screen protector). However, it has eventually failed after one year. The battery only lasts approximately 5 hours with minimal use. Battery is totally gone. I was hoping this phone would last at least 2 years! Very disappointed about this. Overall experience 3/5

  • I just got it today as a gift, and I am totally excited. No problems whatsoever since I started using it in the afternoon.

  • I have the 825 it's rubbish keeps going dead and the battery takes ages to charge some times I would stay away from it.i always used Nokia and am going back to them

  • Htc 825 great phone,

  • Hi I had the htc 825 mobile last year,so did my son,I put mine in washing machine by mistake, came out bent, since then have had LG g4,lg g5,but came across my son's htc 825 which stopped working, got him a new one, thought would try htc 825,charged it,and it started again,it does everything I need all my bills games,it also has a variety of covers,so have been looking for a new mobile but, everything I looked at doesn't come close,so going to keep through HTC 825,

  • htc 825

  • absolutely fine 4 weeks using, no problem.. Good bettary, good performance, Display quality superb. Previous phone was nokia 3, htc is way better than that. i was trapped for buying nokia 3 for the goodwill of nokia then immediately sale that phone and bought htc. I'm satisfied.

  • How have you owned the 530 for 2 years and it has launched the last year!! It's definitely another device which you're talking about.

  • Have the HTC 530 and what a great little phone it is, Have it nearly two years, Its only starting to slow down now and the battery is beginning to give up, I am having a similar issue where I am looking to get a new phone and don't know whether or not to get another 530 or the 825, there seems to be such mixed opinions!

  • what the hell this you do with this phone? please should really stop complaining over lousy things like bending (you can't expect your phone to be fine if you keep sitting down on it) or lack of file manager (which is most certainly just because of the region you live)... use your phone properly people!

  • the best phone i have purchased Excellent speed Superb battery timing Boom Sound Dual Speakers Slim and Smart Large HD display 10/10

  • I was not satisfied with this phone. After only having it a few months, it stopped working. I will not purchase this phone again!!!

  • Bought HTC 825 2days back but camera is so poor showing extra color flash light is also weak no gallery option and also phone lack while playing games so don't buy this phone total waste of money

  • Be careful with the 825, i just bought the little lady an 825 as the s4 was getting old (first mistake) went to JBhifi (good guys) lady likes 825,feels good, camera great, finish excellent Android etc etc so all seems good. so i buy it and transfer google account etc all good, But sales guy says they don't have cases ??? (second mistake), then after a few days the lady tells me that when she types in the first couple of letters of a person, the phone doesn't autocomplete so i associate the people (not contacts) and all seems good again. Until she adds a contact with two email addresses to htc people and expects to have them synced to contacts in gmail on her laptop (final mistake) oh boy have not had such issues on S3,S4, S5 whether on standard firmware or cyanogenmod so thing twice before you buy and make sure that contacts (google) and people(htc) sync both forward and reverse before you shell out the loot

  • In JB Hi Fi Perth Australia $400.00 Aus

  • stay away from this phone ,mine has to be sent for repair all ready .problem when you switch to wifi.very slow

  • Can you help me, I want to buy a new phone but i don't understand much in cellphones. Can you tell me which one is better htc desire 825, alcatel idol 4, samsung galaxy a3 or samsung galaxy j5? Thank you :D

  • Brilliant phone for a good price

  • I bought this phone and have been using it for 24 hours. I bought this after considering Samsung J7 and LG Stylus 2. The main reason was that I am tired of using Samsung phones...have been using them for 4-5 years now and wanted to try HTC. It has not disappointed so far. The phone is light and sleek, cameras are great and work well under low light, the sound quality excellent - both with speakers and without. The battery is slightly lesser than comparable phones but sufficient for moderate to heavy use. A full charge is sufficient to last one day easily.

  • This phone is prone to bending while its charging

  • i just need good camera clear screen lots of storage and relatively good battery life, would this phone be suitable?

  • i just need good camera clear screen lots of storage and relatively good battery life, would this phone be suitable?

  • Unfortunately device should be recharge daily. No Touch ID. Voice recorder could not be set to make record of all income/outcome calls. In other cases all is good.

  • Right... At least they should have used 410 for A53 cores.. 400(A 7 cores) now big no...

  • Yeah, but still we can watch video in full HD, it's important, HD screen consumes less battery.

  • Is there light notification here on screen or not

  • It's less powerful than the 820 😒 And still has a 720p screen

  • When will HTC release this phon??? India

  • Oops! Sorry, that was a typo, I meant to say 650XL.

  • But the price is upper mid-range.

  • The speckled finish looks horrible. I'll read the reviews and it might be worth purchasing if it doesn't lag and goes for under $150.

  • Snap 400? Like really? In 2016? They should use snap 415 or 617 at least, in this price range they will die for sure

  • Where can I even buy this phone. Seems like nobody is selling it? How do you guys know so much already? Lol :)

  • Ew this shit costs 260 euros? This is a low-end phone, it shouldn't even cost that much.

  • HTC had to pick double navigation buttons. Either they could not decide whether to place capacitive buttons or software keys or they want the best of both worlds because wasting real estate is nowhere to be found in their vocabulary

  • You can get phones with far more superior processors at low prices. M4 Aqua is cheap now and has much faster processor. Also you'll get Mediatek octacore phones at the same price, which is much more faster than the old crap Snapdragon 400

  • 950 XL is a flagship phone, dont you even realize this HTC is a low end phone?

  • nice phone

  • the revival of snapdragon 400. gawd, well at least it has marshmallow -.-

  • wow! a bloody relic from the past for a chipset, killed the entire phone.

  • love it

  • Looks good.. Specs are midrange..

  • yes,you are right. every things are the same except many minor differences. D825 is dual sim with 4G support but original 816 was 3G in dual sim version.both big differences are just 2 thing.ram and 2sim 4G.

  • The same phone I bouht two years ago (exceptipon - had 1.5 GB ram and was named Desire 816 dual sim) and everything looks quite familier

  • Expected price

  • which is better htc desire 825 or htc desire 626 dual sim lte?

  • Snapdragon 400, lol good old Lumia 950 XL LTE will blow this phone away in terms of performance as well as battery life. Utterly pathetic move by HTC. I hope the Snapdragon 400 spec is just a typo.

  • Snapdragon 400, seriously? The year is 2016, htc.

  • But I want external storage how about redmi note there is no external storage

  • It's a wrong comment that I have made by mistake, there is no option of editing it now which is saw previously, but I hoped for better specs than Ds820

  • How do you delete frequent message callers that's in your text log

  • Xaiomi note 3

  • D825 has same screen resolution and size with desire 820.please increase your knowledge or search then write a comment. also I have to tell you that's clear htc X9 is the following D820,826 line. as all of we know midrange has many lines.one are at the top of midranges and 826 or 820 were for last year and this year htc introduces X9.825 is lower version.if you want stronger htc midrange then go for htc X9 with better SoC and screen, speaker ,great camera with selfi and .... if needs lower version and budget friendly desire 825 is so great(I hope it cost about 200-250$)

  • If you want Snapdragon 820, Adreno 530, 4GB Ram and blah blah, you should go with HTC 10. But I prefer Desire 825, because it permits my budget...

  • if they gonna sell this for around 150 - 180usd, ill go for this, if not ill go for ze550kl.. way much better.

  • What is problem with HTC it's desire 825 and have lower screen resolution than desire 820 are u forgetting it should have better specs than the lower version one

  • I am waiting for it. When it will be available in Singapore?

  • Im want to buy a new mobile under 15000 any one help me to choose

  • "Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 ,Cortex-A7 , Adreno 305 " , no doubt you are a Failure HTC. who makes these decision's , show me that man in HTC

  • The second is from the bottom side.

  • when r u launch mr htc ..... m wating

  • I know many things about repair and my knowledge is near to expert repair man (also know software a lot).this option is very good that you can add touchscreen button and if your phone button doesn't work(maybe with hard drop or damages or ...) you can add it in screen and work with phone.i hope that htc really add this option in customization, then it will be very good decision. I have seen those batton out of works many times and we can't find the "FLAT" for those phones and this matter turns them out of work totally. and my opinion about this phone : over all it's a good and can runs games except high quality and the screen, sound, spu, gpu are ok.also the battery is great for this specs and screen.all of this are related to cost.if this phone release for 200$ and not more it will be one of the best in stores. with regards

  • Mmm seems good , but would like to know the price i think if it would be about 220€ then no competition, or what do you think guys ? Lets make hier a decision about the best cheap smartphone in 2016 .. give your openions below..

  • You should check this out

  • all facilities are available in many but price is most important.According it's facilities phone price will bellow Rs15000.00 then it will be a good smart phone just compare to Samsung J7

  • According to its specification phone is good.if price wii be bellow Rs 16000.00 ..then it will be the long racing horse for Htc company.

  • hmm, has anyone noticed that according to HTC official website it has HTC Boomsound Speakers but it has only one visible speaker in the photos?? I mean maybe M10....

  • good phone and htc customization in new sense ui makes it better.if this phone has good price then could be one of the best markets choice

  • honestly if it sells for less than $$175 it'd seem decent for a prepaid American cell phone. Yeah it may have a lower processor but that doesn't make it awful or the best. just alright. im sure you can play good games fluently on here, just not the heavy duty games. im sure the camera will be good at least!!

  • I'm drunk or seeing things double. OSB end capacitives buttons?????????????????.HTC explained this

  • If you are in uk vodafone smart ultra 6 will fir your bill for 115GBP plus 3GBP eBay unlock.

  • It does. No wonder HTC is going downhill with this kind of pricing.

  • what about the price????????? if the price is fair then it can be my next phone.i have an iphone 6s but needs 2nd phone with big display. also 2g ram and 13mp camera and big battery(at least for this screen) can pushes it to me

  • - Hi-Res Audio - Dolby Audio with only one mono speaker !!! Wtf ????

  • Why the downgrade

  • I disagree if the price ratio will be ok. if price is around 200-250$ then it will be good phone

  • This snapdragon 400 looks so funy in 2016.

  • good phone.and midranges have no finger scanner, also SD400 with over clock is used in this phone.1.6ghz is suitable for midranges.the battery is 2700mah and no problem for hd 5.5" and those hardware.last year htc kade 5'5"fhd with 2800 and now 5'5"hd with 2700....

  • any idea of its expected price ?

  • Good all round phone.

  • How can u have both OSB and capacitive button?

  • No, it'll be atleast $200 your usual HTC

  • Another generic HTC phone -_-

  • not so bad if the price is around 200$ but I'd rather go for amazing X9

  • Should be priced under 200$ old 32bit chipset snapdragon 400 no fullHD, No Finerprint, in 2016... htc is living in 2014

  • 720p on a 5.5inch screen ? HTC this is 2016 not 2013

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 ????? you gotta be kidding!!!!!!!!

  • Snapdragon 400!!! New chips are available HTC!

  • This looks good, but the screen to body ratio is not that good. HTC should have make this much smaller. I had a Desire 820, and it was too big for me, so I have sold it.
