Just put wrong config on Internet settings. For exemple, introduce username as "w" and apn as "w" to... introduce wrong characters, and it should not connect.

I have bought HTC HD Mini from a local market. I am facing a trouble with it. Whenever I upload balance, it deducts a certain amount as the internet charges. I have no one who may knows how to deactivate internet and save my balance. May I know, how to deactivate internet service and how to hide "E" letter on top adjacent to signals mark on screen...? I just got this phone... This phone is very very good in any way, so don't listen to other people that negatively commented on it. It has a very nice stylish, and sturdy design, corning gorilla glass, so the whole in-hand experience is at a top level, for me anyways. Windows mobile 6.5.3 pro is a very good software, despite every1 that said its complicated, it's not and you can easily set-up everything as you like. No bugs detected yet. Call quality is very good at the loudest, and the proximity sensor response is very fast, so no accidental end-call case. There is no problem like others have on the "removing battery to end a call" for me, others have that problem I don't know why, but I don't and the whole experience is very nice. Battery life is stunning for me, because I don't use internet on this phone, so I disabled data connectivity and phone can last up to 1 week standard call and sms usage. Very good phone, old model but for me, its the way it should be.

some times, i nearly smash this phone on the floor when i am in urgent or emergency!! damn legging (even i formatted and no games installed, no other app installed), slow touch screen responding, and poor battery!! stand by can only for less than 8 hours.. poor phone.. no more HTC for me!!

I've just been given a HTC HD Mini by work. Having set it all up etc, I now find that the set of control buttons (hand set up, home, etc) don't operate when I switch on the phone and often end up taking out the battery, wait for a minute, put it back then all is okay until the next switch on. Really need a little switch between battery and phone!! Not happy with it and aim to inform my manager that really I need to get it replaced with a decent phone.

If you are electrical engineering, you will know that a bend board may cause loose electrical contact.. and maybe that's why your phone couldn't charge.. you may not realised it, but it may somehow got bent inside your pocket or your bag without you knowing it.. the same happened to my phobe few years ago.. (although it was not the whole board, but just some part of it under the keyboard)

HTC HD mini is the best mobile you wast your money on it, for every one don't try to buy, first problem with the language ( arabic) secondary, the ON/OFF botton is not working after 3 months from less than normal use. third, processor is the slowest one compared with the same for other brands, finally HTC don't care about any complains

I have to say that I am very very disappointed with the HTC Company. I bought HTC HD MINI on November 2010 and after 3 months I had problems with battery. On November 2010 I bought an HTC HD Mini. After 4 months of normal use the battery was so weak that I had to carry always my charger with me. The last two months my mobile didn't charge more than 60 % and the battery drained after 5 minutes of use. Then I bought a new battery and I upgraded the software of the phone but the problem still existed. So, I sent the device in HTC service, in order to fix it. Today, I received their answer that really made me loose my patience. They sent me an email ( that I have copied at the end of this mail) where they explain me that the "the chassis and the main board are bend", and the service will cost 198 euros . First of all I didn't bend my mobile phone and I have no doubt about it. Secondly and more importantly, I am a computer engineer my self and I really can't figure out how the "board bend" can cause a battery charge problem!!!!! Such a response seems to me completely unjustified, not to say ridiculous !!! I am really disappointed with this situation, considering company's worldwide reputation concerning quality and service!

Listen, mate. This isn't the best phone. HTC Sensation is far better. Check out the specs. Sensation 8mp HD mini only 5mp. HD mini only 65k Sensation has 16milliom. Honestly, HD Mini 320 x 480 pixels and 3.2 inches?!? HD Sensation is 540 x 960 pixels, 4.3 inches. BEAT THAT! The only good thing about it, is that it's lighter than the Sensation (due to not very good specifications and short battery life.) It's still good, but Sensation is better. Buy anyway, at least it's the same make!

Worst phone ever! Constantly freezes. Unbearably slow. Drops service. I have to wait nearly 5 minutes to read a text after recieving it because it has frozen. When its freezing up and the screensaver comes on, you can use it and have to take the battery out.

my HTC HD mini was bought in september 2010. what i noticed was that even at normal settings, sometimes messages would come in without any notification sound; sometimes, there would be incoming calls without any ring tone. i brushed those problems aside. but starting yesterday, my phone has been hanging. i have been removing my battery and replacing, and yet, phone hangs. phone has had screen protector from day 1, has never been dropped, too. i have used it for surfing news about 3-5times only. never downloaded any file. what do i need to do? pls. help. i have been reading about this phone freeze problem, yet have seen no remedy :-(

totally disagree, your phone must be faulty. My mini is the best and most stable winmo I've ever had, 4 months and not one crash yet, battery lasts about 3 days, and yes the internet connection is established, but it is not always getting data. My phone updates weather and checks for e-mails once a day, it stays connected but I don't get charged. However, you can turn off manually too.

Without doubt the worst phone ive ever had Ive had mine for about a month now and its actually unworkable. In the first week, it worked fine, without one problem. From then on, its been a nightmare. 1. The internet stays on ALL the time. Apparently, due to this problem, ive used almost 80% of my internet allowance in just over 3 weeks. 2. constant, constant freezing problems. Especially when locking and unlocking this phone. It seems to tell you when it would like to work 3. the widgets are rubbish. when you turn the phone on its side e.g to get a bigger keyboard, stead of getting a clean, swift motion, it will freeze for a few minutes before finally letting you do what you want. A real pain if accidently moved when in your hand typing. The list could go on. And now it would appear im stuck with this phone for the next year, seeing as o2 only repair phones. god help me.

This phone has many very useful features like wifi router. My experience is that if you want anything to compete with iphone 3g, this is the one. I love the touch sensitivity, sound and picture quality etc. 600 processor is quite enough for me. more than anything it's stylish

I bought this phone on e-bay for AU 300 best deal ever, this was an upgrade from my HTC touch cruise 09, and I am loving every minute. I downloaded copilot and it works like a charm, the only downside is the apps, not enough interesting apps out there but oh well at the end of the day what matters is the call quality and sms experince, which is fabulous...

Hi I have a question. I would like to buy this phone, but there is 1 thing I was wondering about. How is the internet via Wifi? My HTC P3300 has some problem occasionly with downloading webpages, so images are not fully showed because of the resolution 240x320 pixels and the 200mhz processor. Is it the same with this phone? Hi. I've had this phone for 3 month, every since the end of the first week the phone has been lagging. every time i receive a text it lags for at least 10 seconds, every time i send a text it lags,and the phone completely freezes at least 5 times a day (sometimes it freezes when it is on lock when the screen is black, so i can not turn the phone onto the unlocking screen). i had to the the battery out and restart the phone several times, but in many cases the phone freezes in the orange 'windows' screen. i have tried to download the Ram upgrade and everything on the HTC website, but it says that my phone does not require the download. and i have had my phone "flushed" by the store i bought it from 3 times, but the problems keep on coming back. Any help or comments would be appreciated!

HTC is a Taiwan Company, as far I know all the HTC devices are made in Taiwan. But honestly, what should be the difference if HTC was made in China ? Seems still people can not make the diffrence between the cheap toy electronics build in China by local companies and the giant electronic companies who produce products with the most high tech equipment available on earth and having highly skilled engineers. Iphone is made in China ONLY, anyone complain about ? The only difference between China / rest of the world made is into peoples mind. Wait 10 more years and all will be made in China, unfortunatly that moment we will have no job and money anymore to buy the made in China quality.

Hi i had this problem with this handset untill i did a Administrator reset of the fone and this sorted all the problems then i installed any updates. to do the administrator rest do the folowing remove battry when turned on remove simcard & memory card ( all infomation will be lost that is stored on the fone ) replace the battry without replaceing the back hold the volume butons in on the side and press the power-button the fone will boot in to a administrator mode and it askes you to press the down button then just follow the onscreen instructions you have just performed a administrator reset if you have any questions about this email me on [email protected]

hi i have one of these and i droped it about 2 days ago and all that hapned was the back came of and the battry came out so i put it back to gether and it worked perfect again... have you looked at the SPB shell in the market place it improves the fone by a great deal and it has made mine faster and more user friendly it also made the fone work in 3D and hd. the camera also improved and gives better detail on pictures, you can get the trial from the market place wich lasts 15 days but the full one from the market place costs about £26 but i went on the internet on my pc and downloaded it from a torrent site and it also had the product key and when i installed it threw my pc it works perfect and it also says it is a genuine copy

Dear anyone who wants to buy this phone, I am writing from my experience... When I wanted to buy a new phone, I went to buy htc hd2 because of the big screen. But when I reached the store, they told me that they only have hc hd2 made in China which is not good. So, I had no other option except buying htc hd2 mini ($ 385 in Iraq) because this was made in Taiwan. I was very happy at the beginning because it was very beautiful. I was happy to move from Nokia N95 to this new one. But I really regret that I bought this phone in the first place. There are various issues that can't be solved. The first thing is the camera, even if you choose SUPER FINE still the picture is very bad. I tried a lot to figure out away but it was useless. It has a very bad camera. Besides, there is not flash for taking pictures at night. There are many bugs in the Windows 6.5.3. For example if you go to Calender and tap the first day of the month to input a new appointment, it doesn't respond until you tap on third of the month. Or if you try to change the home-screen wallpaper for several times it crashes and doesn't respond. Once it happened to me and I restarted the device 20 times until I back up my contacts and hard reset the device. The windows on this device makes it very sluggish sometimes and you cant use it until your restart it. I came to believe that windows is not a good operating OS for cellphone. I really had a better experience with Symbian when I had my Nokia N95. Besides, every time you have hard reset the phone, all your messages will be gone unless you back up online through Microsoft my phone. But not everyone has internet on cellphone to have this option. go to settings...connections... check/ tick the square in beam which says..receive all incoming beams...also in bluetooth..keep your device on discoverable mode... hope that solves the problem.

i do agree that most of the ringtones of this phone has really low sound volume even if ur ringer is 100% set high....so to correct this problem what i did is, i have set the ring tone "Ring-OldPhone", ...which is simple and pretty loud too.....it helped me atleast...now i dont miss any voice call like the way i did b4....U CAN GIVE IT A TRY!!!

i bought htc hd mini a month back...and chose it over wildfire.....the reasons are... 1. Beautiful weather animation( it will amaze u everyday) 2. very pretty user interface...(absolute delight to see mail, sms or album) 3. better screen resolution than wilfire...(it matters in case of taking good quality pic. 4. Interior+ Exterior look is absolutely stunning... If u really want an android phone the i would suggest u go for HTC ARIA...copy cat version of hd mini....but uses android os...everything else is same like mini (look, resolution, etc)

hi!! i dont know how to turn off that option...but i can help u save ur credits for the weather update thing....simply go to weather widget....click on 'menu'...then go to 'settings'...there is option about 'download data automatically'.....just unclick that...also unclick 'download when roaming'....this way it will not automatically connect to edge all the time and u'' save some credit....Hope it helps.

have this phone for a while now and i would like to share my experience.. 1)very nice looking phone. personally, i think every touch phone should be that big. 2)nice UI and very friendly. the touch flow is as smooth as it gets. you are able to switch off the HTC sense whenever you want 3)display is very good despite being 16k only. infact, phones display is the first comment i get whenever someone sees the phone. 4)music is excellent and browsing through music is almost as good as an i pod. 5)browsing through the internet with this phone is just fun. youtube videos work perfectly, and yes, better than the i phone. now the only thing that i dont like about the phone is the slight lag you will sometimes notice through your clock and weather animation. it hardly effects the performance of the phone but still, it annoys me personally. it's my first touch phone, so i dont know if this is normal or not. speaker of this phone is not sharp, although the sound of this pet is excellent on a headset.

I just sold this mobile after 3 months. I couldn't take it anymore. Sure it looks great and the idea is fantastic, but when it comes down to it....bad. 1) battery down everyday (minimum use of apps, web, etc) 2) if in your pocket, it will call and do stuff because of easy unlocking. very annoying. 3) camera sucks. pictures are blurry and dark etc. 4) freezes when u use apps fast and changing. 5) loading is slow, so usually pressing to fast > wrong buttons. 6) sound is not adjustable as i like. like 5 or 6 volume levels, also with music. 7) screen resolution is fantastic. clear view for youtube and stuff 8) plastic back, cracks and gets dirty in between because of loose cover. 9) touch is too sensitive, i.e. pressing numbers or sms, usually you have to correct a lot. 10) vibration is useless. well I can go on, but i think you get the picture. too sad though. i liked the idea. by the way, your welcome!

@kevin If you bought your 32GB card off ebay etc. then it is most likely you got a cheap chinese knock off which doesn't have the capacity it claims. First check the capacity in a laptop or computer, using a microsd adaptor.

Do not think something is wrong with the phone. 1) About Edge and 3G, The phone mostly select the strongest network, depending it can be Edge or 3G. Just a matter on where you exact are on that moment. 2)If you use WiFI it is normal Edge or 3G is still on the screen, because the EDGE or 3G network is still in use to receive or make calls during the time you use WIFI.Incoming or outgoing calls always use Edge or 3G. 3) Conclusion : You need to know , Windows mobile phones and also Androit phones have a lot of options and settings, it takes a while before you found out all about. Enjoy your HTC, sure one day you will become an expert in using this kind of smartphones

THANKS. I had switched on WIFI. But the internet is very slow. I still feel it is running on GPRS. Also even after activating the 3g it shows the sign of using edge i.e., "E" and it is not showing 3G. Is there something wrong with my phone or do i have to change any setting.

From the moment you activate WiFi, it will be used as default and overrule GPRS. Beware that this will eat battery. Better just swith on the WiFi when needed

Its common to all windows mobile. first you have to pair the handset you want to sent the mp3 file to. after pairing the devices, just go to your music file through file explorer . holed the file you want to send for some seconds or use directional arrow key on your keypad highlight the mp3 file press menu and send the file through bluetooth paired device.

Hi, I had this phone for 3 days and following are my observations. 1) Good display 2) HTC sense is a nice experience But 1) Speaker phone sound is low 2) Automatically connects to the internet with out confirmation 3) Windows mobile is not fun to use 4) and most important, This phone has HVGA resolution and almost all of the applications for windows mobile dose not support this resolution and will not run. I replaced HTC HD mini with nokia X6 with wider availability of softwares. Its a good fone if you can live with the points mentioned above.

I think this handset is really cool and value for money, but you may consider following features which are not present in this. For me these doesnt matter so i bought HD mini. 1) No Secondary camera for video calling. 2) No TV-out 3) Windows 6.5 instead of Windows 7. 4) No Flash for camera. Other than this its a great handset with great screen resolution, camera is good, touch is really nice, battery backup is also satisfactory, Internet works like butter :)...and it is really great in looks... So you may consider this for buying for sure.

a sound like what you can hear from cheap tiny radios. if you get the thc mini close to your ear,with any system sound it can be heard. for example if you play a music and paus it you would hear the continues "fshshsh" sound, or if you touch hang up button to get back to home screen by the "beep" sound also the fshshsh sound would be heard! its a kinda noise :(

Hey guys...got this phone two days ago for RS.22000. I am quite happy with the phone but not entirely satisfied. The build quality is not good, much like china phone. But the screen looks awesome. Processor is fast enough but battery drains quickly. It lasted only 1.5 days on average use. Also the phone gets heated up if you use one application for a long time. The SenseUI is very innovative and the screen is also very responsive. Overall the phone is pretty awesome but for 22000, the build quality was expected to be better.

I have this phone for sometime now. I do have mostly positively comments about the phone. 1. The screen is pretty go. 2. Msging is a breeze once you are down with it. 3. Camera takes good pic outside in Daylight.. Not the worse i have seen but sad for a 5 mpx shooter. 4. Phone is pretty responsive ( use the task manager judiciously to keep the RAM free and you will have no problems ) 5. Size is a key factor and makes this handy than a HD or an X10. 6. WM 6.5 and the Sense UI seems to do the job just fine and without hassles. Occasional user may have a tad bit of bad luck with this but this phone gives enough bang for you buck.. On the - side. 1. Dear All, I use the mini now for 2 weeks. It's ok, but not a masterpiece. I did it for the size and looks, but if I could spend my money over again, I defintely would go for a Iphone even if its bigger. The mini is just toooo slow and eats battery majorly. Resolution and stuff is great, but I use a phone and not just look at it. I wish there was a bigger mHz processor in it. Oh yea, where are the freaking Apps?? with the Iphone i would have 100 Apps, now I just have 2, the rest (20 Apps or some :P ) you must buy. Design 8, Features 8, Performance 4.

Disappointed by HTC

Friends...I am using HTC Touch Diamond(2G) for the past 10 months or so...I am terribly disappointed by it's performance.Within a month of purchase started having rebooting problem...got main-board replaced.It was barely 6 months and last week another problem started--the power button would automatically get pressed and this would happen like that till the battery gets drained.Got it fixed at service center..but within a day it started again.It's now again with the service center for observation. This is my 4th visit to the service center now..and don't know how many more are still left before my warranty is gone in the month of the July 2010.I really loved the features but what's the point if there is no reliability...every few months it would lie at the service center for anything between a week to a month.May be it's my particular device and my luck....but still thought of sharing it...if at all needed....Think twice before investing on HTC.

Another question. I seem to be unable to save my attachments. I am able to download them but i cannot save them somewhere. And my SD card which is already inserted into my phone cannot seem to be utilized. I can format my SD card but my phone doesn't seem to read that my SD card is already inserted. How do i solve these problems? Anyone can help? Thanks!

ITS the best that they say but i have played with it and its a copy of Mega -d (touch2) the only diffrence is that they have changed few thigs here and there . There are series of problems . The Battery drains down on high rsolution it connects to WIFI every 10 seconds you cannot take complete back up on mmc USB charging takes time . volume controls tear on the speaker side

HTC's Sense UI is real positive for this device. It masks the inadequacies of WM 6.5 and you can even forget this is WM device. I tried the Sony Xperia X2. It's pure garbage. The X10 is better but with Android 1.6 it's already outdated. No doubt the HD mini is not up to par with the Desire, Legend, or HD2, but it does a fair job. If you want a clean, simple, touch device that can offer fun, in a compact and sleek package, this device is for you. The camera is missing a flash, but the 5MP resolution works very well in daylight outdoors. The video is a respectable VGA. Not the best, nor the worst I have ever seen. Well done HTC.

hey, my data connection just keeps switching on on its own and it's killing my battery. I've already turned off auto twitter and facebook updates. It's better now but it still turns on on its own at times even when my phone is in sleep mode. Can anyone help?

buy neither handset, the android is far supirior in my opinion as ast the rate that it is growing in terms of apps avaliable and numbers sold aned it has the highest percentage of free apps of all OS. But in terms of handset get the xperia x10 its hardware far surpassses both htc and its timescape and mediascape make everything so easy! Plus there will be a free upgrade to the new android version when it is ready!

It has accelerometer but rotation is very, very... very limited based on the original firmware. I have downloaded various rotation s/ware which was a disappointing experience as they are riddled with glitches where the HD mini is concerned. Apart from that, its a great phone for its size. capacitive touch on such a small smart phone was my buying incentive

I just got my HTC HD Mini in the UK on Tuesday 13th April 2010, so far the phone has been excellent and fast. Whatever problems anyone is facing with the HD Mini should be due to certain careless mistake. I wouldn't condemn anybody's opinion but for my self, the HTC HD mini is an excellent device, most especially it's Wifi Router....it's Awesome.

I agree with denvers comments, I experienced the same thing. I bought it last monday in taipei. The store said language can be change anytime. But when I arrived @ airport I inserted the battery and only chinese language shown. By accident there was a store inside airport selling htc and he said this htc hd mini the whole taiwan is in chinese. I really shocked ann speechless. I think htc must provide the downloadable english rom so that the users who travels and buy from asian countries can be safely purchased the htc hd mini.

Be careful with this since I putchased 2 days ago n find out that is's in traditional chinese. I asked the htc customer service n they said the device that in chinese language cannot be upgraded to english rom. Be wise buying this htc mini. I really regret w/ my decision.

yepp the price is 275 in pound and in dollar price is 419. so in indian rupees it should be about 20000. in this price it is a very good windows mobile. but if you want something else in same price then you can go for samsung omnia pro b7610. that is a very nice windows mobile with large qwerty key pad and great multimedia phone with amoled screen. so you can go for that. good luck.

There was an article posted on GSM arena a few weeks ago telling us how Microsoft has yet, once again, shafted people. Especially when the HD2 is one of the most powerfull handsets on the market..... guys, for me it sounds like a good new. HD mini doesnt has too many buttons. Its just fine. And for sure it will be upgradable for windows mo 7, as does the hd2. I think the resolusion of 320 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inches instead of 480 x 800 pixels, 3.2 inches of the diamond 2 is very pure of course the different from one screen to another is in technology so will be seen in practice.

It's the mobile that I'm waiting for: it's compact and the performances are fine. I think the resolution perfect fits the 3.2'' screen. A bigger resolution could give problems when you're surfing on the web.

you must mean proportional, if it was inversely proportional then the bigger the screen the less resolution you would get. Of course the more screen you have the more pixels you can fit on it and so the bigger the resolution will be. For a 'mini' phone it's not that small though...

why is htc pulling away from android. now we all now microsoft is a giant but to cater mostly to them is a big let down. here in the U.S. we are waiting for smart phones with full internet experience, java script, flashplayer, etc. were hoping htc would deliver the next generation of android phones guess not. guess customers here are left waiting for a company to do just that and that company wil corner the U.S. market and end the iphone generation.

Just a thought, while im extremely excited by this phone, for its perfect balance of features, hardware, software, size and overall cheekyness (it knows just how perfect is is), i am a tad worried about one thing...if it does everything the HD2 does, but its CPU (600mhz) is just over half the HD2's snapdragon (1ghz), then are we going to feel it? Oh and who needs two cameras when the inside is yellow? I mean, seriously, ITS YELLOW! Genius.

I have Xperia X1 and need to change it as its lagging too much and the keyboard keys are getting stuck...was deciding between HD2 and HD mini, but cause of the massive size of the HD2 I think i wait a bit longer and get the HD Mini...it's perfect for a woman... :)

I have to disagree. This phone will be perfecto. It has everything a user can possibly want, except for making sandwiches (although you can use the phone to order some). I am really looking forward to smartphones with a smaller form factor. This phone is like a slice of cool from a cake of awesome.

Dear HTC, Why did you release this in 3.2 inch it is already a crowded market and a shame it is not a 3.5 inch as the 4.3 inch version is too big and this is too small to use full touch benefits!!! I love your product but once again I have to give it a miss, it is either too big & heavy for the 4.3 or too small to use in this 3.2, marketing should have been sack; as common sense should have apply the screen is too small to use full touch at 3.2 in an already crowded market, WAKE-UP!!!
