Huawei Mate 20 X - User Reviews

 • Interesting. Screws up resale value, eh? I wonder if there's an app to clear everything personal, revert to defaults, set up for new owner, ahhrrgh... ..So what did you do? Sideload? I had to pull some Google apps from Play. But fine after that (INT version)

 • Brilliant fix! Thank you. Now just have to figure out how to magnify the screen without using the inbuilt triple-knuckle_tap (awkward when playing shooters). Some display text (not chat or keyboard related) is very small. Maybe it's the HD (1496x720) screen res? Lowest setting though... I must be getting old, but having to squint on a 7.2" screen? Meh!

 • Can we expect Mate 30 X or maybe Honor Note 20 ? We really need that!

 • Oh dear, if this phone were 16:9 ASR....it will be great.

 • No such thing. Everything is still functioning like normal.

 • Please use gboard. And make key height minimum

 • In Landscape, keyboard is so big I can only see one line of text. International version, default Swype keyboard. Portrait mode is fine.

 • Hello. I have the global version. Its working great still. :)

 • No idea where you get your news, but all is well here. Speaker is still functioning the same.

 • Do you have the Global one L29 or L00 I see a lot of difference between both !! all negative review come from L00

 • I afraid there will be speaker issue and aspx on the new update I hearted they remove a lot of feature on new update.. any body to confirm ? I have Global L29

 • Why they not making mate 30X I love mate20X very much best phone I ever had

 • Is Mate 30 X in the works and be released soon? Want to replace my P8 Max!

 • Just gotten September security update, Build number 9.1.0.341 now. Late by half a month, but oh well, at least they keep coming.

 • Yes, this phone will still be getting Android 10. It has already been confirmed. This is easily the best large phones out there, it has gotten so many things right.

 • Yeah, I really wished they included it like how they did for Mate 20.

 • I did a factory reset to the phone and all google access got deleted.

 • No notification LIGHT. Stupid decision. Nothing is perfect...!!!

 • Hello~ Definitely. Additionally the screen is stretched to 7.2 inch, definitely will not be as sharp as the current devices on the market. Hope you wont regret on buying the device due to its display. :P

 • Thanks Genn.... I have changed the font successfully. So far so good device. But screen contrast + Brightness is not as superb as Samsung galaxy s8 plus. QHD matters dude

 • Bello~ Hmm, Font style based on what I've known is found in the 'Themes' app. There is a few of the free ones such as 'William' fonts etc etc. You may need to Scroll for sometimes to find the ones you like. :D

 • 1st help is needed- I want to change the font style.... But no option is found yet.

 • Thanks for your nice review. Just bought this giant phab. Swiched from Samsung galaxy s8 plus. Lets start the new journey....

 • After using this phone since Feb 2019, I would give this phone a 9 out of 10 ratings. Its size is the best for those who prefer a phablet. Fit nicely to all of my trousers but it will be slightly harder to put in and take out from jeans, so stand up please or you'll look very ugly. 1 thing to be careful about, do not put keys or any hard object with this phone in that pocket. Kept on changing temper glass because of one mistake done once in awhile xD. It is one of the loudest phone since it has 2 speakers. Best alarm to wake you up on a monday blues. Display is fine, read complaints on its pixel density thing and resolution but I think its still nice in both streaming and gaming despite its huge screen. Phone is holding up great, no sign of lag on heavy gaming and multi tasking. Maybe a little warm after heavy usage but its still not as hot as my previous cheap phone. Battery is still great, 1 charge is enough for a day use which includes gaming (I play mobile legend), and actively using social media apps. Here comes my negative personal opinion and maybe what could be better. :3 1. Up until now, there's no option for you to disable the auto tuning of your screen brightness on the slide down shortcut setting. So if you'd like it to be off, you need to go all the way into the display setting to disable it. 2. Something is wrong with the dual sim card setting for mobile data. When the dual 4g is enabled, your mobile network will be having lag spikes. Just disable that, like seriously. 3. This is the utmost annoying and disappointing, GPS SIGNAL LOST. This is frustrating as the gps keeps on losing signal while navigating and you need to turn off and back on the Location service to reconnect properly. Tried different configurations on the GPS setting and still having it. If someone is out there getting this solved, Ill give you my number. xoxo HAHA sweat.. 4. Oh the Huawei pen is NOTHING to be boast about since its another accessory which you need to bring separately and charge separately. If you only use once in a blue moon like me, the pen will run out of battery anyway. Good pressure and sensitivity of the pen though. 5. I personally didnt like the knuckle touch features. As sometimes I wonder why my thumb became a knuckle instead, and my knuckle become a freaking finger touch. It happens once in a blue moon though, but that blue moon is when I'm playing games. D:< That's it for now. Hope you're having fun while reading my broken english review. Wish you're lucky enough to find stocks to get this model since its running out of it. :D

 • Will it get the new android Q 10

 • The global version supports Google apps. Go for it!

 • Thanks for the reply

 • Can any of yee on here tell me does the huawei mate 20 X stll get full access to google play app store etc am i right in saying only the new phones wont have access at the min? As im thinking if buying it this week Plus will this phone get android 10 when avaoble plus will it get security updates

 • Yes i have this phone form long time and i am enjoying every bit of it. Its superb and awesome phone in terms of camera and battery. Only you should be able to handle it properly. The reason why every one change phone is for the above two reasons and after you buy u will prefer to retain it for long time. Yes updates and google play are working in it uninterruptedly.

 • Would anyone recomend buying this phone now as i want a big screen phone and hear this is the best large screen avaible at the min ? Also Will this phone get android 10 and security updates etc? Do u still get full axcess to google app store..as i hear the new huawei 30 etc is limited or have no axcess

 • Based on the specs, the perfect phone, or phablet, as most people would view it. If only it were available in India at like 60% of it's ridiculous price.

 • Shockingly still the best Android phablet in the market. I got the 512Gb Galaxy Note 10+ as a possible upgrade/replacement due to the Huawei issues and after 2 weeks of every day/task use - the inferiority of the Samsung is just overwhelming -waste of $$

 • It has a much smaller screen, smaller battery, no sdcard, inferior sound so mate 20 x is a much better option.

 • Just stay at 9.0 Battery life is the best.

 • I'm on 9.0.0.186 and not updating. Battery stays strong.

 • I have the same concern, but due to unique screen size i guess. any way, in Aliexpress.com it is only $476 for 6agB and 128GB ram but when i see the price of K20 pro with 8GB and 256GB with only $430 i think it better choice of specs

 • It's a shame this hasn't gone down in price much at all. It's retaining it's value better than even Samsung phones or iPhones. I would've considered it if it were a couple hundred cheaper. (And it should be considering the Kirin 980 is a fair bit slower than the 855 found in cheaper phones)

 • Malaysia. Somehow the updates here are quite quick. Though now I am still stuck with August update now that it is end of Sept.

 • Where are you located? In or Out of US? I have not gotten an update in 2 months. I am still on the 9.0.0.207 (C636E3R2P1) update (March/April)

 • Please Any help :- tell me about battery life after Emui 9.1 last update is it good or worse???

 • I use the phone and I must say the resolution is great at this pixel density. It will be good you state your opinion when you actually have it.

 • I've had this phone for 7 or 8 months now so will give an update. Having had Samsung Notes for a long time i made a change to get a 7.2" screen. Speaker volume is great. The battery life is still amazing. Screen resolution is fine and helps the battery. I love the flat screen with no rounded edges. Performance is still super fast. Samsungs tended to start lagging after a while, the Mate 20 X hasn't. The implementation of google is really good. Maybe not as detailed as Samsung but very easy to use. Face ID and finger print are super quick. I have no issues with the size, after a day it feels like a normal phone and fits all my pants and shorts without problems. The camera is good but probably not as good as Samsung. White balance can be a bit funny. The LED is noticeably duller than my S8+. Would be good if it took micro SD cards but 128GB is fine for me. I'd highly recommend this phone to someone wanting the best big screen phone available.

 • I want to buy this phone in India but I can not seem to find it. Is there any other option apart from Aliexpress since it is an expensive item ? \ There is a shop in Heera Panna, Mumbai which is selling it. Is it reliable or do they sell second hand as new? Huawei is a weird company for not releasing this in India, this is probably the best phone in the world, and they have released that monster notch mate 20 pro. Please help me :(

 • I have to say this is the best smart phone I ever had beast phone well done Huawei

 • Wow after the update, there is a moon mode on the camera. Amazing. I love this phone!

 • Yes but Huawei's launcher works the best.

 • Hi guys, can anyone tell me if we can change launcher with mate 20x global version? Planning to purchase one

 • AL00 since November of last year here. With an M30X nowhere insight looks like I'll keep this solid phone another year. This phone fits me perfectly

 • You say that, but the difference between 1440p and 1080p isn't really that drastic. Its not very common to get stuff in 1440p resolution, so its not a very useful feature. At that point its not how many pixels you have, but the quality of the pixels that counts the most.

 • as a matter of fact it doesn't.

 • What were they thinking when they gave this thing a 1080p screen... The pixel matrix on it must look like a fricking chess board.

 • Is Mate 30 X coming? If yes, is it worth to wait for it? If no, I will buy Mate 20 X now.

 • Why is it slow? It is August 2019 and I already have the Aug 29 security updates by mid month.

 • If you used to own phones back in early 2010s like Galaxy Note 2 and have a 'drop proof' casing like Otterbox attached to it, it's about the same when you have this phone with its TPU casing.

 • Different location's prices are different. That is China's version. In Malaysia, price is around $500, so it cannot be compared.

 • Can show me where to get it at GBP 450?

 • I don't think so Huawei is desperate, let me tell you 20 X is still going strong and demanding after one year, it is already out of stock, don't expect the price will be dropping low and no one should underestimate Huawei.

 • or perhaps you are looking for the 5G version which is around 1000GBP.

 • i just purchased an EVR-L29 for 450GBP and the retailer that i bought it from was offering another 10% discount which it came to 405GBP. . Look somewhere else, huawei is desparate to sell its products with all the trade war going on between us and china.

 • All Huawei smart phones and smart watches will automatically switch on from off status once powered by the charger.

 • You are talking about the China version. I want the global version which is still $1,307. Too much! And it is not decreasing since it is newly released. Better go for Note 10+ if this the case.

 • I just realise when I off my hp n try to charge it... It auto on when the cable is inserted.. Is it suppose to be that way or my hp Huawei mate 20x is giving prob!?

 • Ohhh yes baby, just read they will release a Mate 30 X to... YESSSS!

 • to me its perfectly handy, yes u will feel the difference when u hold a s10+ vs m20x but i am loving it, big screen big battery, no complain so far.

 • Never mind. Wrong question.

 • 4G. It's cheaper and 5G is in it's very early stages. It's still unstable now. By the time 5G is in full force, your Mate will still be OK.

 • That's really heavy but a good phone

 • I'm considering this phone , I like big phones but is this one handy for day to day use and to fit into pockets easily , it's 233gm , isn't a bit heavy or it's ok ?

 • Hopefully the new huawei mate X (non foldable) will not retired like this news. . Huawei, will you still continue the new mate X (non foldable) for the future? Answer huawei please.

 • Don't trust the price shown on the spec sheet, the phone is actually $460 on AliExpress, I always check on a website called Kimovil, they show the prices on phones from multiple websites

 • Hello, can someone please confirmed that the mate 20x does not support 4g band 28(700mhz) as indicated by gsm arena.

 • Waiting for its price to go down. But it seems stuck! Still expensive as it was when it is newly released. If that is the case I will go for Note 10+.

 • Waiting for successor of mate 20 X. Xiaomi mi Max are gone, anything max and note are not live. Honor note and max? Samsung galaxy Note 10 was almost but too expensive. We only have this year is the Lenovo tab V7 but only few markets. Which brand will release first??? Can Lenovo take over the phablet market? Who possible release first? I was waiting for any new super size phablet for almost a year!

 • Brilliant phone, I have the chinese version EVR-AL00 with English installed. EMUI has some quirks, Google doesnt work and cant change bluetooth codec setting. Camera is amazing, screen amazing and build quality is great

 • This is my 2nd Huawei phone. I also have one of the Harmon/Kardon Media Pads, a tracker band, and the wife has a Honor phone. So, I guess you can say I'm hooked on the Huawei brand. The Mate 20 X is worth every penny you spend. Battery Life is great! Camera is Awesome! Call quality is perfect! 4G LTE works with a constant connection no matter were I am located! (I'm on AT&T in the USA). The only downside is the slow updates. I received 3 after setting up the device which moved me to version 207, then nothing since.

 • Yes... Previously i was using a tab as my daily driver. But it was so compact 7 incher.... HUAWEI MEDIA PAD X1.... 16:9 ASR was best for everything including reading a pdf. Nowadays mobile became remote like ... And small. Honer note 10 is almost 7 incher without a notch ( 18:9 asr though ) Thanks for your criticism + suggestions

 • My new tablet with triple camera, notch, fingerprint sensor, facial recognition and phone features!

 • Nope, but just go to settings and remove the notch, no big deal. Or go to the hospital and get an injection against the notch, then maybe u wont die of it.

 • This phone has 7.2" screen, if you set the notch to hide you can have a 7.12" screen without a notch. Simple...

 • Use a tablet! LOL!

 • Has this phone got the exact same camera as the mate 20 pro it doesn't seem to have ois for man camera?

 • Spoke too soon.. After recent update on the Microsoft launcher, it back to the default of emui... Jdhdhsjsgsjgahsg

 • There is no need for 5g phone, but if you are planning to keep the phone for more that 3 years than go for 5g variant. Dosent matter witch version, you still can download all deftones discography even on 4g:)

 • Any phone with 7.12 inch screen without a notch ? I m waiting... I have allergy to notch. Thank you

 • Seems I'm wrong about the view 20. It can also use other launchers after the recent update(magic 2.1). U need to reset your phone 1st. Reset all setting.

 • evr-l29. International version.

 • Did you use the Chinese version or the global version?

 • I had my M20X for around 2-3 months now. I am using it as my media device. Gaming: It never fail on me. I like the size gave good control. I switched from andiPad mini to this device and I must say, No Regrets. I am very please with the graphic and it in fact gave no to very little lag when I play online games. Desktop mode: My working laptop failed on me recently. I switched to my M20X desktop mode and it works like a charm. I couple it with a monitor, a Type C Hub, a Bluetooth keyboard and a wired mouse. In fact, I am now writing this opinion with this setup. I am using this little device for my work presentation and now desktop mode. Cons on this device? It will be its weight, accessories, proprietary memory card.

 • Woah its true, just bought myself mate 20x. And been able to use microsoft launcher. On my honor view 20 cannot...

 • Mate20 x 4G is way cheaper than the 5G. 4G or 5G, practically speaking?

 • Anyone talented at drawing had any comment on the M-Pen on mate 20 X?

 • Is it true about that we can use other launchers after the update? Good news, if true. Sometime I choose other brand because cant use launchers in google play store....

 • Someone plz answer me, is there is a way to make the 40 mp photos sharper. Ind9nt understand WhyTF the mate 20 pro is sharper than mate 20 x. Am really pissed coz I liked the phone a lot but cant u it now due to the soft images the 40 mp snapper takes !... will taking raw photos maybe be the solution for image softness ??

 • HAHAHAHA fr? I went from a Galaxy S9+ to a Mate 20 , and never encountered such issues you are mentioning , stop shittalking about phone companies you've never been with

 • can I take sharper 40mp images with this phone somehow ?? i really like the phone but the Soft images bad me REALLY disappointed !...

 • I talked with a Verizon rep and told him I ordered a Huawei mate 20 x and wanted to know if it would work on the Verizon network before I switch to tmobil he told me it would they just have to go in and approve the phone for CDMA I will receive the phone sometime this week and let you know if it works

 • are you sure....... these devices are slow and I get force close each minute

 • Ebay also selling mate 20x for 599.99 from never_msrp. Fast priority shipping. Got mine in 2 days. This has got to be the best phone I have ever owned now that it was taken off the Google banned list. Upgrade to EMUI 9.1 and you will be able to use Nova Launcher by default. I love the 7.2 inch display.

 • Moon mode will automatically detected using MASTER AI mode..

 • Why I don't have moon mode after updating my mate 20x to 9.1, any one knows?

 • Same here .. my Dolby Atmos not it used to be after update 9.1... Even for YouTube .. movies and games ...

 • amazon.com has the global version and now at a reduced price

 • if you are in Europe buy from t-dimension. That's a reputable company from Hong Kong selling online. I went 3-4 times in their office during the last 6 years while visiting HK and buying photography equipment from them. They have stuff on stock in EU, so you don't need to pay extra money for duty.

 • Could have used a 6.9" 18.5:9 so it doesn't seem like it is of the tablet territory to unsuspecting shoppers.

 • Bro, i wanna buy this phone sent me link from where have you purchased it?

 • Verizon is CDMA they have their chips coded such as apple, with Verizon you must take what they have to offer since most unlocked phones out today will specify GSM ONLY and not for Verizon, sprint or apple

 • yes, I have the L29 6/GB - 128/GB it's the GLOBAL version arriving with GOOGLE and PLAY-STORE. And it does in fact receive the full 4G/LTE. The 256/GB version is 100% Chinese version rom and does NOT arrive with google or play-store

 • Which version do you got? L29 6gb 128gb?

 • Has anyone been able to get this to work with Verizon?

 • the 20 X and the P30 when comparing the 2 are just about the same in many ways, it just boils down to would you enjoy the larger 7.2 screen that's on the mate 20 X. In my case having the mate 20 X i'm getting more for my money plus the pleasure of watching full featured movies and games and hearing them in 100% loud and clear true stereo. Good luck in your final choice. And no matter what your choice may be, you can't go wrong since Huawei makes fantastic phones.

 • between mate 20 x and p30 pro.. which one better

 • Now that the ban of Huawei from Google was lifted by Trump, I am planning to buy this phone/tablet or whatever it is.

 • It has 32-bit/384kHz audio Dolby Atmos sound. Needless to explain if you know what it is.

 • Being an electronics buff I've had just about one of the many top brands of phones that's out today. Having purchased this Huawei mate 20 X was a dream come true for me. It's perfect in so many ways, hi-end gaming, watching movies, etc. The screen is spectacular,it has extremely loud and clear true stereo speakers that's properly placed to listen to true stereo. There are so many options to play with in settings since Huawei has thought about everything that's required to have that something special in a phablet. There is not a phone out as yet that can possibly top the performance of this giant as it's been compared to samsung, apple etc. and won the test. This Huawei mate 20 X is an electronic masterpiece and something I've hoped would soon come along. Some folks remark about the size and weight of this phone, whereas people have become so spoiled, years ago Motorola had phones so huge one part was on the belt and the receiver was the size of 2 to 3 phones with a huge pull out antenna. Thanks much Huawei.

 • What about Headphone jack ?

 • Speaker sounds became slow after updated to emui 9.1

 • It's marketed as a phone, but it's actually a tablet.

 • Which market place exactly?

 • I received mine 4 days ago and I loooove it :) few phone have that much features : full stereo, IR blaster, pen support, 5000 mah battery, 3.5mm jack, classic fingerprint reader (works 100% and so fast), flat screen (I prefer this way, especially with a pen), and very good cameras. I found the size OK, even if I'm not a tall guy, I would have bought it even if it had 6.5 screen size. Software is good, I put nova launcher on it. Battery life is (very) good. The only feature missing is wireless charging but... I dont care with that much of battery life. I bought it for 571 euros including pen, international version on a famous market place. I'm in France, the phone came from ireland and it took less than a week.

 • Dear Huawei lovers... I need some advice from all of you. I am using Huawei Mate 10 Pro... and I am planning to change my Mate 10 pro... I am thinking of buying either Huawei Mate 20 X or wait for Huawei Mate 30 pro... What I really need a phone are: Baterai, Performa, and Speaker... I love playing games... listening music (all the time).... Should I wait for Mate 30 Pro ( I dont care if Mate 30 Pro will use other OS since I love Huawei)... I will buy Huawei no matter what... OR I should buy the Mate 20 X, since its big, great speaker (as I heard and read) and big baterai, but it's already almost a year old... Thanks for your advices...

 • It is not the phone, it is the apps you installed. Uninstall excessive battery consuming apps and you are good to go.

 • If you're having bad battery life then you probably have a faulty model. I'd hand it to this phone for having the best battery life on any phone I've ever had. And I've used the new Samsung range, oneplus, Razer and Apple

 • Turn off the Wi-Fi + and make sure to turn off the setting that looks for wifi all the time. You have to dig around. I can't remember where it was in mine but with that on and it always looking for wifi it was causing me to loose or have very low cell signal.

 • Not good for Australia and New Zealand- missing 4G LTE band 28 (B28) why????

 • GOOD, finally OLED with 80mm+ width, i will buy one!!!

 • Rubbish, one of the best batteries on any platform, you must have had a fault.

 • Battery is awful on this phone. please avoid

 • But how about the Android update? It will be stuck forever.

 • Yes this is the best phone ever. Last forever, charges blazingly fast, never crashes, bigger screen. Replaced my Note 9 for this phone. And won't be getting the Note 10 either. Nothing beats the bigger screen and battery life. Plus pen!

 • Fair enough, but doesn't the S9 get 10 hours of SOT. My J7 gets 16. Not a fan of Samsung, never really liked them. Also I went back to a 4.5" phone from a 5.5" phone and the keyboard was a problem for me, bought a Lumia 820 with a 4.3" screen but WP keyboards are decent.

 • Ok, you say something is big for someone but not for others, true. But you say that Samsung phones deteriorate after 6 months as if that's happening to everyone. I'm not a fan of Samsung or Huawei but my J7 Core is doing just fine after almost 9 months. Deterioration will happen depending on how you use your phone. I'll never get a Huawei anyways, their phones in general have subpar structural rigidity, not as bad as Xiaomi though.

 • In your opinion. I own this phone and although it is the upper end of what size I would find usable on a daily basis, definitely would not say its too big. In fact I couldn't imagine using a smaller screen like an S9 now. Also battery life on Samsung is awful, I couldn't deal with knowing it might not last the whole day.

 • I Cant wait to try out the Huawei OS..HongMeng. Once it can support Dual Apps and Private/Secure Space, Im dumping android for good; For me it will be iOS and HongMeng

 • everything is big for someone. but it does not make it big for others. there is no comparison between huawei mate 20 x and s9. s9 will start deteriorating after 6 month of use and start lagging. Huawei phones are good for 2 years , no problem. in the battery area samsung is still garbage. i have used both s9 and huawei mate 20 x. Go for mate 20 x or mate 20. dont worry about android ban. it will not affect the phones that exist already. there is noting better than mate 20 x for watching videos and netflix. no need to worry that battery will go low in case of mate 20 x. if you want to buy samsung then buy a power bank also. words means nothing until you experience it. use both phones together and you will know.

 • The Mate 20X is way too big for anyone, the S9 does the job

 • mate 20 x for sell.........

 • Black what? Phone or skin, because it have a black skin inside settings.

 • Batter Huawei P30.

 • Mate 20x

 • Huawei Mate 20 x? The S9 battery life is no where near the level of the mate 20 x and the kirin 980 chip is comparable to the exynos 9820 nevermind the 9810 which is the model below. Even comparing it to the Snapdragon 845 in the USA version of the S9 the kirin 980 is better...

 • s9

 • Hello, Mate 20x or galaxy s9 which is better?

 • the speaker of this phone is a lot hell better.

 • Ok

 • If you read a newspaper do you want it to be the size of average phone screen or nice & big? I really like the huge x screen. Any other issues such as screen res slightly lower are insignificant. Size matters. A] If you're dropping your phone into water you're not being careful enough. If it's deep water it's gone anyway ! B] X batt's so huge u only need to plug it in every other day or 3rd day, so no wireless charging is hardly an issue. This is so good I was very frustrated with previous phones like S3 & Note 4 needing juice during the day. All phones should be designed to make it from one night charge to the next. No feature is more important, so wake up manufacturers. Stop the obsession with thin & light resulting in an inadequate size battery C] If I switched to the Mate 20 I know I'd be thinking the screen's too small & that curved edge's = awful !. The X screen size has spoiled me & I'm happy to be spoiled ;-) For me it's X all the way :-)

 • No FM Radio in Mate 20 X.....

 • they are releasing a 5g version can be seen here

 • Pdadb.net states there is FM radio and gsmarena states no FM radio. Could an owner confirm whether or not there is an FM radio?

 • Too much bla bla bla... I don't have time to read novel. Keep it short and simple.

 • Very well written. I am a careful buyer. I went to huawei shop many times just to put mate20x into my front pocket and even cut out a paper size equivalent to mate20x size and carry with me. Huawei phone so far i heard good feedback. Samsung phones i PERSONALLY SEE AND HEAR many feedback that their phones not working etc after x period of months year. I have been using G3 for 4 years plus. Sent to oven to bake for 3 times. In the end died. Now using g4 beat as spare phone. LG G3 was among the first few phones that came out with a 5.5" screen. Hence i bought it after i saw my wife samsung S2 failed and change to Sony Z3 also failed after 2 years. So i continue to use my G3 and watch the market for 2 more years and concluded that china makers like Hua Wei and xiao mi are probably the most trust worthy manufacturers in term of reliability. My Apple iphone 4 home button failed after 1 year wsrranty up. And i switched to korea brands LG G3 which served me well. Just that their phone sets always very hot when doing something regardless surfing net reading gsmarena forum reviews itm just heated up and can melt my chocolate bars. Samsung products like their phones esp low end models built to fail after 1 to 2 years. Even their TVs also face the same reliability issues. If we choose a less reliable product the whole world will be flooded with eWASTE. This is why i said i am a careful buyer. I chosen mate20x because 1. Screen size 2. Battery size 3rd reason is due to i dont have any telco contract now so when i sign a 2 year plan with local telco in singapore i can get a cheaper price for selected phone. So for my mate20x i only pay $59. Also why i given up LG because their battery size for all their latest phone hover around 3000mAh to 3300mAH. They are not as bold as the chinese who went beyond 3500 or even reach 5000mAH. Those who dares to dream will succeed. To LG phone designers: Few questions for you guys. Q1: How is your job as phone designer? . Q2: Do you like what you are doing? Q3: Do you really like the latest LG V50 thinQ? Why no? Last Q4: Why don't you ignore your management, design a phone that you really want and love? Answer to these questions from your heart. You may save LG biz. See the number of phones u shipped out to the world? Dropped or increase? Thank you Hua Wei. I am a very demanding buyer consumer user.

 • If they'd put the power & volume buttons lower on the right then they would both have been easily accessible with the right thumb. But the volume button is too high. How could they make such a mistake ?

 • I'm used to Galaxy Note with volume control top left. On Mate X 20 it's high on the right. So can't reach with right thumb easily, so have to reach over with left hand = awkward ergonomics. They should have put vol button lower on the right so the right thimb can easily reach it, or put it on the left so left hand can easily reach it. Come on Huawei, it can't be hard to get this kind of thing correct !

 • Why don't we have black in Huawei Mate 20x. Some of us we like black.

 • Buttttt, The power button on Huawei phones is really conveniently located on the side near where your right hand is. Which is used more, power or volume?

 • Hmm that's a difficult one. If a large screen matters to you get mate 20 X. If camera is more important get P30. I'd reccomend P30 it's quite good but mate 20 X is good as well. But P30 pro and mate 20 Pro are much better choices for similar price, you should get those.

 • hi, Mate 20 X or P30 (non Pro) ?

 • I think the colours are not as vivid and rich on the Mate 20x as on my five year old Galaxy Note 4 !

 • I'm used to Galaxy Note with volume control top left. On Mate X 20, it's high on the right. So can't reach with right thumb easily, so have to reach over with left hand = awkward ergonomics. Come on Huawei, it can't be hard to get this kind of thing correct !

 • Nah... nobody believes you.

 • Apart from the material defect (auto adjust to darker screen) I mentioned the bloatware installed is very annoying, e,g, the memory hungry Browser the useless Legend etc.. Having used 5 Huawei phones I have now decided to stop using Huawei phone.

 • this phone is awesome. but the UI suck. i hate EMUI on this phone.

 • It’s kind of funny that many reviewers in the YouTube complains about the size of it. This phone is made for big size lovers and there are other smaller options to chose if size is the issue. Almost every reviews highlighted it’s size as a cons.

 • Fed up/Ting Ting stop using different usernames just o flood this page and make it appear that lots of users complain about your concern.

 • Well if all we can think to complain about is the auto brightness adjustment, then Huawei can't have done too badly on this one!

 • If Huaei does spend substantial sum in research and improving phones how can it allow this annoying (self auto adjust screen) feature to continue? Please rectify this material defect forthwith Huawei!!!

 • Couldn't agree more. Had my 20 x for 2-3 months now, coming from LG v20. Love the 20x and has absolutely everything I want and need. The only negative so far is the auto screen adjust. Can be turned off of course, but is on again whenever phone is rebooted. Really strange feature that iv never come across and hope I never do again lol!

 • despite of the recent updates the annoying feature of auto-adjust to a darker screen so I have to manually adjust screen to a better level. Having used 5 or more Huawei phones I must say this is the worst feature I have ever encountered.

 • Yep

 • yes

 • COMMS WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, aptX HD, LE GPS Yes, with dual-band A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS NFC Yes

 • I can’t see NFC anywhere in the specs. Does it have it?

 • Mate 10 user here and love it. Hopefully huawei gives us the sd card and headphone jack in next mate series. If they don't i will just keep rocking my mate 10 aslong as I can. Ohh and don't take away the ir blaster either.

 • Get the mate 20X and the optional stylus (Huawei m pen). this will make you sell your note 9 too; its way better in every way.

 • Keep TAB S4 for movies and games....... I am using HuaWei Mate 20x, the specs are quite similar to P30pro. If you are a Stylus-user and preferred bigger screen, like me 60s and retired, wait for Mate 30x, its' Stylus optional similar to Samsung Note's models. HuaWei Technical Support are superb, they replied in an hour or 2 and confirmed Chinese because they can read my Chinese emails. Having disturbing them for the past 2 months with 10 over questions, they never "Blocked" me. Keep your money in the bank for interest, if by Aug/Sep 2019 no news of Mate 30x, its' your choice.

 • Should I sell my Tab S4 for Mate 20 X? Im currently using Note9 as my daily driver. Appreciate opinions.

 • Great!

 • Pinch ur home screen, there is a "home screen setting.", Then from thete, u disable the "HiBoard".

 • anyone out there knows how to disable the 'hiboard' screen, please? (and all the other 'hi'' - stuff for that matter) every time i left - swipe from my start page it comes up ... and i don't want it. your help would be appreciated. cheers mft

 • Go to settings - display - more display settings - Notch - Default, custom - select the app you like to be in full screen including the notch.

 • Thank you for the info! I was wondering about the notch & screen use.

 • + You can delete all bloatware without rooting the phone! How?

 • if me, I will choose Mate 20X.

 • if me, I will choose galaxy note 9

 • Mate 20X or Galaxy Note 9 Which is better

 • This is the best Android phone in the world. Its simply the best value for money

 • This is 7.2" in screen size, but the actual size will be 7.0" because of the teardrop notch. When playing video, that part of the notch extending on both sides are not included in full screen.

 • if you are ok with big phones , go for mate 20 x . you will never regret it

 • Hi, try connecting to the 5GHz frequency.

 • Hello! So finally what do I get? Mate 20 or Mate 20 X??? Thank you!

 • 7.2" fits great in my pocket. 7.5" is probably still OK but 8 inches wouldn't fit easily in pockets.

 • Is anyone else having problems with WiFi connection on the 20 X? Mine only connects some times and will occasionally drop out. Wifi+ is on and I've reset network settings. No issues with other phones.

 • And hopefully too, the mate 30 X will increase the screen size to 7.5 inch or even bigger like almost 8 inch.

 • Best mobile phone I have ever used! Good screen even only 1080p. Battery life is insane! Kudos to Huawei for optimizing the operating system. This is what you call an all day battery life phone. Not like that that nonsense Samsung promoted with their battery. Good camera. Good performance on gaming. It does not get hot but the framerate is the same all the time.

 • Then stay stuck with your oneplus!

 • Does this mean he international L29 version come in Phantom Silver color? I see alot of sellers claiming L29 in silver

 • Tell that to Apple as well. LOL!

 • noob i don't want to pay extra to 3rd party company to unlock huawei bootloader. Better go with onesplus or other companies that let you unlock bootloader easier. Huawei = JAIL

 • Ok i need some help from someone that uses the dual sim... i have Honor Note 8 + Huawei P8 Max and on specs they say its dual sim stby but thats wrong...when i talk to sim 1 and get a call from sim 2 i can see it and can switch to the call i want..thats NOT stby as the specs of these phones are in this and every site... So is Mate 20x a stby as they say or is it a fault spec again? Has anybody try it? Is he getting calls from both lines at once? My second question is....it has no notification lght...how do i get from viber email etc notifications? Do i have to check the display all the time?

 • Like the mate 20 x, but iPhone XS Max still way better when it comes to overall performance and gaming performance including camera espically with video iPhone wins and the most important thing iPhone will get updates up to 4 yers plus resale value after 1 year still better than even mate 20 Pro.

 • Hi , Just ordered , can some one till how its performance , reliabilities , screen purity .. Compare with ONE PLUSE phone , which one butter ..

 • Yeap

 • I don't need rooting, there are lots of 3rd party call recording apps, 128GB is more than enough for a wise user. Solved!

 • try iphone. lol!

 • No rooting. No call recording. Proprietary memory cards. No thank you.

 • The camera in this phone is the same as the one in Mate 20 pro?

 • As reported by a few media outlets, Huawei Mate 20X 5G is coming! Hopefully there will be a Mate 30X (and Mate 30X 5G) follow-up.

 • Sounds like a great phone from your review ... I just ordered mine :). To be honest I've been waiting trying to decide what to do about my broken honor note 8. And finally decided to buy the 20 x ...

 • Too tall.

 • I paid 650 euros for this phone. Which is 200 euros less than Mate 20 Pro here in Finland. Ebay is the best place to buy this phone if you're from Europe. I recommend T-Dimension or Eurocart6 sellers. Of course, the price might seem high, but in reality for these specs it is a bargain.

 • The price here is the same as Mate 20 Pro. That's too much expensive.

 • I have the Honor 8x Max and planning to upgrade to Mate 20x. Is it worth? My main use for big screen phablet is for multi media. I like the Atmos Dolby sound in 8x Max while listening to internet radio and watching YouTube.

 • Okay, here's my review of the device (EVR-L29) so far: I've been using Mate20X as my daily driver here in Finland now for a couple of days. There are lots of things to like about this phone, but also many things to hate. Let's go through the positives and the negatives together! + Screen quality is amazing for 1080p, very sharp, bright and vivid + The notch is ridiculously small, it doesn't bother at all + Dual speakers sound amazing compared to flagship phones like S9+ or OP6T + All the security features, such as fingerprint and face unlock work flawlessly and fast + Battery life is great, even when the performance mode is turned on. I got through 2 days easily while gaming, watching youtube & netflix and browsing web + Call quality is superb + Back cameras are amazing + EMUI9 is not that bad actually, but I installed Nova Launcher on top of it + You can delete all bloatware without rooting the phone! - Always on Display does not support 3rd party app notifications, such as Whatsapp etc. - Even though the back is supposed to be more grippy, it feels slippery. Be careful! - Front facing camera is above average, but not as good as other flagship phones - Not officialy released here in Europe, so had to import it from China So, there you go. Honest review. If you can handle the size, you'll be satisfied. Highly recommended!

 • The mate 20x is nearly half the price of a s10+ in Australia . Price aside I'd go the 20x which means it is actually great value.

 • Finally I bought my HUAWEI Mate 20 X and I love it so so so much... somemore its colour is phantom sliver but the colour alike purple and is my favourite colour so I love it... Overall good performance, camera same with mate 20 pro, dual speaker and the battery last long with big screen very nice... definitely not regret with it.

 • The only problem is the price.

 • Yep, agree with everything you said. It felt normal from day 1, my s8+ feels like a toy. No issues with any front pockets or in my hand. The flat edges are so nice to use compared to the Samsung curved edges. Originally the volume buttons on the right felt funny but it feels good now. Only other issue is the step counter, its way off and needs fixing.

 • I just did a side by side. The speaker quality and volume is streets ahead on the 20 X. Using older Samsung headphones the 20 X also sounded better, the S8+ sounded very echoey and didn't bring out higher frequencies as well. I'm struggling to use the S8+ with a cracked screen sorry. No, the photos are a bit better than the S8+. The portrait ones probably aren't as good in some light as the white balance is whiter and people don't look as tanned. In reality it is probably more realistic. To be honest it is a real struggle to pick the slightest difference in screen resolution. Maybe on a website with fine text you'd notice it. 95% of users wouldn't be able to tell any difference.

 • Yes it can

 • are you not bored with the same icons and software year after year with the Iphone.. If yes call MATE 20 X and rejoice, great joy or delight with Mate 20 x

 • I was worried while ordering due to the size. But let me tell you the phone is fabulous and no regrets at all. Its a narrow device and fits in the front pocket. Phone build is premium and eye catching. The device is so thin for that size. screen colors and the resolution is brilliant. Battery timing 2 days. i enjoy the split screen mode on 7.2 inch screen. Best value for money, $680 in UAE. Cons: 3.5 jack should have been at the bottom. I cant shift to a smaller screen now :)

 • Can this phone use Emui desktop mode? I saw a video on YouTube showing Mate 20 x using Emui Desktop but there is no information about it.

 • Thanks a lot. Does audio quality like the AKG earphone of s8 plus ? Does photos look like oil painting ? Do u mis the QHD of s8 plus ? Thank you

 • galaxy fold, is in square shape, mate 20 x is in rectangular shape

 • I went from the S8+ to the Mate 20 X. Have had it a week now. The camera is great but portrait white balance seems too white. 3.5mm jack at the top bugs me but you get used to it. Aside from that it has been awesome. I'm now only charging every second night with moderate use. The size/weight doesn't bother me at all, either in my pocket or hand. Not having the rounded screen edge is awesome, feels a lot stronger and is better to use. 1080P screen simply isn't an issue, colours and resolution are great. Face ID and fingerprint scan are lightning quick (turn off the swipe up to access option). The back has a touch more grip and and certainly doesn't scratch as easily as the Samsung black glass. There are a few less options in some apps and settings but its pretty good. The wide angle and 5x zoom are really useful. I don't think there is a large phone that comes close to the Mate 20 X. The price is good so i'd go for it :-)

 • Excellent Review. I like how you put it in your pocket and sat down...always a challenge with larger phones.

 • Can Huawei mate 20 X compare the screen size with Samsung galaxy fold?

 • Ah... At last sold my galaxy s8 plus. Now a new phone to buy.... But which one ? I need large screen + great camera. Should i go for Mate 20 x ? Someone telling it produce painting like photos. Is it true ? Any other alternative ? Thank u

 • Noob. You can unlock the bootloader .mine rooted already

 • I don't need to unlock the bootloader, so I will buy this phone. Thanks.

 • If Anyone is thinking of buying Huawei smartphone just know you can't unlock the bootloader anymore. So no more rooting, custom rom etc.

 • I've never cracked a phone screen but cracked 3 corners on the s8+ with minor drops. The top 30% of the screen became non responsive so had to go.

 • If the history ends today, Huawei Mate 20X is the greatest smartphone ever made, period.

 • Huawei Mate20X belongs to a different world, a more inviting and more inspirational world.

 • 100%

 • Huawei Mate20X is not intended for users who have been living contently within the common idiom of a smartphone as envisioned by Steve Jobs in 2007. If you compare Mate20X with any other "conventional" smartphone, and feel the need to ponder whether it is too heavy, too big, with or without MicroSD support, etc, it is most likely not for you, because your perception of a smartphone is simply too "one among a billion" to truly appreciate what Mate20X has to offer. With Samsung Note 9, you will be constantly reminded that you are using something with all the space limitations of a phone, regardless what you are actually doing at the time. With Mate20X, you will be reminded that you are with a phone only when you are actually making a phone call, and then you realize this is indeed a smartphone: compact, light-weight, and pocketable. A few words about day-to-day experience with Mate20X: 1) When you watch a movie with cinema-wide aspect ratio, such as "The Age of Innocence"(1993, Martin Scorsese), the image size is larger than that on a typical 8" tablet (Samsung Tab 2S 8"). When you watch a movie with 4:3 aspect ratio, such as "An Autumn Afternoon" (1962, Yasujiro Ozu), the image size is comparable to a typical 6.5" tablet. 2) Writing on Mate20X using M-pen (a normal-sized pen) is more comfortable than writing on Samsung Note 9 using a toy-sized S-pen.

 • They both represent different ecosystems. For Android however, Mate 20X is the best phone

 • No way, Mate 20 X is much metter.

 • IPhone XS Max is still more prestigioos to Huawei 20X Max

 • been waiting for your thoughts on receiving your 20x. nice to know its a practical and user friendly tool than the fragile 'edge' slabs forced on folks

 • I've had my global Mate 20 X for a couple of hours now replacing my almost broken S8+. Initial thoughts are: Size and weight aren't an issue for me. It is comfortable in my front pockets and to hold. Screen is amazing and my S8+ feels like a toy in comparison. Its nice not having the rounded screen edges. Battery is a beast. Dropped 8% in 2 hours of heavy downloading. Camera looks great but haven't got into low light. The 1080P screen resolution isn't an issue. I'm liking just having the home screens and not the apps folder Face unlock (without swipe up) is lightning quick. Knuckle tap screen shots are so much better than the edge of hand swipe Samsung uses. Speakers have plenty of grunt Only downside at the moment is the 3.5mm jack at the top and the lack of an AU charger. All in all I think Samsung has lost me after nearly 7 years.

 • compared to a galaxy note 9 or iphone xs max, is the weight that much different?

 • Why no 8gb 256gb for global version. Why only chinese. What a shame.

 • 1st thing on hand. It's heavy. 1st thing on sight, well build. 1st thing on camera, ultra wide angle camera are superb. handheld night shot are very convenient. big screen , big battery, very good SoC, best camera , could be the best combination that u ever need. bad thing, It's consider heavy as a giant phone

 • Just bought this device switched from Samsung, and its simply awesome no complaints till now, superb camera, battery life is amazing and screen is best for gaming and watching netflix youtube

 • Yes, it is a phone. But my point is that you need to go beyond the normal perception of a phone to really appreciate this phone with all its unusual design choices. (I appreciate this phone, and I will not go back to any other smartphone with a screen smaller than 7".)

 • dont have

 • Is there any led notification light on this phone like the honor view 20, which is on the earpiece??

 • I have it ........ best phone

 • It is a phone.. U didn't even see it? It is little bigger than mate 10 lite.. Not that huge like they say it is great

 • I use the LG G2 since 2013 and now in 2019 also works fine to me. The only problem of that phone is that will never die so you can switch to a new. Its that korean phones you talking about?

 • This phone is not too big. With new ratio of the recent phones any phone smaller than this one is way too narrow. Wouldn’t buy anything less than 6.5 inch phone because even 6.5 display is way too narrow. All about marketing: first they make display narrow by intentionality creating a stupid ratio of 18.5:9 and then keep raising the phone diagonally little by little every year. Now the tablet phones going to start at 7.3 screens and will go up to 10.0 screens in a few years from now, not because they can’t make a foldable 10 inch phone today but mainly because of the marketing and sucking out more money every year.

 • There is a "consequential" difference between Mate 20X and Mate 20 Pro: Mate 20X is not a phone! Or more precisely: Mate 20X should not be perceived primarily as a phone.

 • Mate 20X is the only smartphone in recent years that will offer you that experience beyond just owning another good smartphone. This is something a lot more than that little phone in Steve Jobs 's hands in 2007. We, as smartphone users, have collectively moved on. You will not regret that you take Mate 20X, not Mate 20 pro.

 • I'm the other way, i had a Mi Mix 2 briefly... hated the grey blacks on the IPS LCD... will only ever get an AMOLED screen now days.

 • After a long line of Samsung phones (S2, most Notes and then the S8+) I've gone with the Mate 20 X after the S8+ screen died.... Its been a while since i was excited about a phone and the S10's will be great but not that much different. Can't wait for the 20 X to arrive :-)

 • I have an Honor 8x Max since some weeks and when I use it with my Note8, the Note8 feels rather small while it is in fact a large phone. Both Honor 8X Max and Mate 20 X are almost the same size. I expect more phones this year will be of the 7 plus inch size, Xiaomi Mi Max 4 will be among them.

 • The only problem I have with this device isn't the lack of led notifications (so stupid) or Huawei's ridiculous power management, it's knowing that I'm never ever going to consider any device in the future with less than this screen size and specs. After a week it's no longer large at all, other devices are simply too small. Nothing compares to this phone - nothing.

 • Yeah 1080p,what agony that would be to your precious little eyes. How about actually using one first instead to see just how ridiculous your comment is.

 • No

 • Mate 20x for sure... i have both

 • 1080 at 7.2 inch ? No thanks lol...

 • Huawei Mate 20X has a better camera for sure ....

 • 20x. Larger screen, albeit with lower resolution. Bigger better battery, same camera setup, less notch, 3.5mm port included. Personally I don't agree with having a pro model that has less connectivity options than a non pro. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Just my opinion.

 • Why?

 • Please don't compare mate 20 X with iphones

 • Korean phones built to fail after sometime. All designed and built not to last (because of profits and survival of business). LG formally known as Goldstar, same, after sometime its phone died totally, max 4 years for LG G3, Samsung less than 4 years, all good things mentioned in their marketing material all diminished after few months to a year of usage. If Samsung phones were to keep for sometime without turning on, it will never turned on forever. CHINA Brands are catching up fast and furious. Apple now is cutting down its hiring of headcounts, so as of now in year 2019 and onwards, Hua Wei dominates the Android phones business, i take years to decide on a new phone. I am currently using a old Samsumg Tab 3.0 7" model. T215. So far Hua Wei built a wide range of phones models for different users with different appetite and budget. Their high end models are made of quality materials which give user a quality feel. (Interior i do not know.) Very likely i will go for Hua Wei. I am a very active user in Carousell, i took near more than 500 photos per day (i got now 5000 items for sale), one day i need to charge 2 phones once, T215 every 12 hours charge once, while T215 is charging i use my Apple 7s plus which give me a good photo quality but cannot take close up (Macro) e.g. zoom in to take picture of USB connectors types. If your pictures are not clear, no buyers will buy from you, if no one likes your items, your products wouldnt move, cant sell. Hence soon i will need a good camera phone to replace my Tab 3.0 7 inches. Mate series is a good choice for me after going to hua wei shops about over 10 times to play with each and every buttons icon tried most gui, all alright. Sound wise dont compare. If you want quality sound, build your own sound room and build your own hi fi sound system in that room. Whatever speaker they built in phones is for personal enjoyment in a size of a small toilet only. Dont expect anything great like cinematic experience. Hua Wei thanks for building such a good phones.

 • The basic pros and cons are:- Pros: 1. good sound 2. nice screen. Cons: 1. Annoying display - frequently auto adjusted to Auto-adjust and then 25% 25% display only. User has to adjust it several times daily. 2. Comparatively poor mobile reception (compared with cheaper Huawei phones (4) I used before.

 • Was waiting for a large screen small phone for a very long time. Got one, and am happy about it. I think this will be the only phone having these dimensions and specs that any manufacturer will ever make. Not even Huawei I guess. M-pen is not available in the UAE though. Shame Huawei is not stocking it to let us use on this screen.

 • In Thailand each model have 2 color. Mate 20 Midnight Blue, Twilight. Mate 20 X Phantom Silver, Midnight Blue. Mate 20 Pro Black, Emerald Green. But they just sale Mate 20 Pro Twilight in less quantity. In fact I love Mate 20 pro Emerald Green more than Mate 20 X. But it have curve screen and size screen is tiny. So i pick Mate 20 X instead. I love Emerald Green color so much and hope they will made next product with this color. Maybe in next year when Mate 9 that I brought to my mom last two year gone I will send Mate 20 X to my mom and buy new Mate with Emerald Green color and not curve screen.

 • I didn't know there was a silver color for Global version.

 • I have both the p20 pro and mate 20x. I decided to buy the mate 20x because I prefer a bigger phone. I love them both but I notice that video recording in the front camera of p20 pro is better than mate 20x, particular the sound recording.

 • In Thailand sale global version.

 • Thanks for the feedback. What you bought appears to be the China version (Silver). How does this affect performance and apps you use?

 • proprietary memory slot? Are they crazy or what?

 • I buy Mate 20 X in Thailand at 1st January for my new year gift. I better than i expect. Smooth but not equal to iPhone. speaker is good but XS max louder than mate 20 X. M pen is good but need to recharge because battery will drain when it near phone( In Thailand Huawei gift M pen free if you buy Mate 20 X). camera is better than i expect but front camera are bad in some situation. I buy silver color because my girlfriend said blue color look old.

 • which one is better in your opinion the Mate 20 x or the mate 20 pro

 • go to any showroom and check which co

 • Dear brothers which colour looks beautiful please send me

 • No NM card is not nanoSD it's Huawei properties and not the standard of SD Card Association (SDA).

 • Lolz ? Did you know Leica is the top lens in the world. Even Apple doesn't have that technology yet. Plus last camera awards goes to mate 20 pro. You're such outdated bro....

 • Huawei's NM is a very elegant design. (Unlike the stupid memory-stick design from Sony. Haha.) The introduction of NM (NanoSD) makes it possible to have a standard slot with a shared interface such that a NanoSIM and a NM are interchangeable. Suppose you have a phone with only one NanoSIM slot. You can pull out that SIM and put in a NM so that you can copy files from the internal ROM to NM. You can put back the SIM once the file move operation is completed. In other words, every future smartphone will support extended memory, in one way or other, if this NM standard is adopted. Furthermore, many future smartphone will support multiple memory cards.

 • There is some confusion regarding NM (NanoSD) standard introduced by Huawei at Mate 20 series launch. The primary driving force for NM (NanoSD) is to support future Hybrid Multi-SIM (Nano-SIM, Multi-SIM stand-by) within smartphones. NM is essentially a reduced version of MicroSD with identical internals. Size-wise, NM is identical to a Nano-SIM and 60% of the size of MicroSD. This makes support for Hybrid Multi-SIM simple. Multi-SIM refers to multiple nano-SIMs, more than 2 SIMs. If NM is not introduced, when future phones require support for Hybrid Multi-SIM, any support for additional memory extension will be difficult, due to space limitation. There is a growing demand for supporting 3-SIM-Stand-by (even 4-SIM-Stand-by) among Chinese smartphone buyers. In terms of compatibility, price, performance and capacity, NM (nanoSD) is essentially identical to MicroSD. Every NM comes with a NM-to-MicroSD converter so NM is usable where microSD is usable. But in future Hybrid Multi-SIM slot, only NM will be supported. (NM can be put in where a NanoSIM is. You will need an additional larger slot for microSD if microSD is supported.) The price for NM will be marginally higher than MicroSD initially, but will drop once its use is accepted. At this time, all NMs are OEM through Toshiba. Huawei doesn't charge license fees and makes no money out of it. Its acceptance will depend primarily on other Chinese smartphones makers. Whether other phone makers (Apple, Samsung, LG, SONY) adopt NM has no real-world impact. Suppose you have a phone that supports 4-SIM-stand-by, but you only use one SIM. You can put in three 256GB NMs for 768GB extended memory. Isn't it wonderful? Have you ever imagined there will be a slot supporting multiple memory cards?

 • Take a look here to see that the iPhone is in no way, better, or at least equal to the triple camera setup from Huawei.

 • Agreed!

 • It is insane to even want to compare this phone with any other phone, regardless of the brands. This is simply from another planet.

 • I have just discovered this phone from my friend. I used it for 2 straight hours, reading through the manual, and trying out different features, settings, etc. I am simply stunned. I didn't know a phone could be this versatile, this useful.

 • This is a huge milestone in the history of smartphones. This phone has completely changed my view what a smartphone can be. There is no competition from any other phones, not even other Huawei phones. I have no other words for it. Simply amazing!!!

 • Yeah not just Note 5 upto S8 they had same hardware for camera. On details of the object S7 edge is identical to Mate 20 X but definitely I prefer the colors of my 20 X more. Battery is definitely insane for the screen size and end of the day 40 % juice left on moderate to heavy usage. There is nothing to hate but definitely there is a camera bug which happens while switching between cameras, it force closes and when you reopen it shows can't connect to camera. I had to restart to make it normal. Hopefully Huawei solves in next update.( It's L29 version)

 • There are negatives and positives. Negatives are speakers are very bad. Sound quality is not good and read and write speeds are slow. Everything else is pretty good. Roughly $1K for it though. For $1K smartphone read and write speeds should be very fast and speaker quality should be great.

 • The battery life is insane

 • Contemplating placing an order for the Chinese 256/8 config. Hoping to have its software updated to match the global version completely. I've never been a fan of the Samsung camera TBH, my best camera experience has been with the iPhone. Currently a Note 5 user and the camera is garbage. I'm guessing its the same camera hardware as on the S7 edge? The dimensions and pen capabilities of the Huawei Mate 20X is what the Samsung Note series is supposed to be. I hope I like the device when I get one

 • Got mine yesterday ( from souq.com), shocked by the sheer size and worried how am I going to use this, but within 1 hour got used to the size and its awesome to play games. Audio through 3.5 mm is jack loud and bassy, but lacks clarity compared to my S7 edge. Bluetooth audio is sufficiently loud(with crusher wireless). Screen is awesome with better colors than the S7 edge. Battery backup is mindblowing. Camera is good enough and nice to have all those extra features but won't say it's better than my S7 edge. Overall perfectly happy with my upgrade from S7 edge which had terrible battery after 2 years of usage. Only issue I face is it's slightly sticking out of my pant pocket.

 • Please advice.... which one has better camera, Iphone 8+ or Huawei Mate 20X...Please need honest advice. Thank you.

 • i just wish the screen was an IPS LCD i hate amoled screen they hurt my i eyes

 • i just get my big baby ! i love it !big screen smile to me:) t-dimention !!! best deal +free shipping in 2 days!

 • check amazon.com i just bought mine month ago, they have the global version

 • Where to buy in Europe?

 • There is in the battery manager of huawei a setting to stop apps from running in the background and to stop them to launch when device boot

 • Mate 20 x all new! Note 9 is not new anymore! The price will go down for sure! Note 9 was 1100$!

 • Best phone I've ever owned. Insane battery life, gigantic screen, as smooth as butter. Wouldn't trade it for a single phone out there.

 • Huawei.ae pre-order will ship in the UAE from 15 Jan through Axiom. Its only blue colour 128/6 config.

 • Yeah, Thank God, I controlled my temptation from ordering the Chinese version from Ali express.

 • Sure, Global version.

 • Had switched from mate 10 to mate 20X for more than a month. Huawei again disappoint again n again. I used from before mate 8 to mate 9 then mate 10 now mate 20, each time hopeful on its specs but disappoint after using. This time mate 20 is very bad in terms of wifi detection n switch within my house. I resorted to having 3 different wifi points in my house but the experience is mate 20 is much worse off than mate 10. Many a time it is giving me no network despite just being less than 3 meters away from different wifi points in my small house. Sight! Consumers keep upgrading to more expensive phones n telco plans like 1GB fibre network, but the experience keep being short changed by phone makers n telco. Consumers always lose!

 • pre-order open now.

 • Yes. I received the email from Souq however I'm not in the country anymore. The is impressive considering the S8+ I bought at 2300 AED last 2017.

 • Glober version or china?

 • like the screen. yes it is huge, but finally i can read without my glasses.

 • Preoder opened in UAE, you can order it on Souq. Pretty cheap too 2499 AED only. Eagerly waiting.(Shipping starts Jan 20)

 • Note 9 is less expensive it is only $680 in Ebay, the Mate 20x is $705 in ALiexpress (international version) Note 9 reach $660 in my country !

 • GO to Ali Express it is less than EUR 640 and can ship to Saudi Arabia

 • I have a question: I use Rom ToolBox application to disable and enable the installed applications so that they won't keep running at background upon reboot and slow down the phone. This application requires root. Can I use similar application, if not the same, in Mate 20 X? If possible then I might consider to get this phone.

 • As of today, running 9.0.0.146, camera is still buggy. Switching between the 3 choices of lenses sometimes causes crash, with "cannot connect to camera" message. Reboot resolves this. Sometimes videos are recorded as pure green screen. Reboot resolves this.

 • Coming to UAE.

 • Fortunately no, because the size fits on my hands!

 • What a fantastic device. So nice screen, so fast, and the OS doesn't get on your nerves. The most interesting thing is that - the versatile camera widens your 'photografical' view - the big screen is really like building a bridge from mobile phone to tablet concerning usage of electronic device.

 • my mate 20x has Google play evr Al00. Simply down load Google play from the hi app store. Framework is already on phone. No worrries Google play works fine on Chinese model

 • Best phone ever Large display Large batery Perfect gaming phone Love this one I sell my ipad pro for this one.. Lol

 • Not able to find any mobile in 640 Euros which can be shipped to saudi arabia

 • The Chinese version is most cheap on Aliexpress. The global i bought with most cheap price from t-dimension. But Wondaphone, Saturn.de, Mediamarkt.de and Splendor have the global one and on ebay you can buy it to from sellers. There's a seller (eurocart6) on ebay sellign a L29 version for £627 which is cheap. Amazon's prices it to high in my opinion. You can google it and u will see u can buy it many places. Good luck

 • From which site i can buy this phone, i ordered one in T-dimension but they cancelled my order and refunded the money saying no stock, can you please send me some links from where i can buy one. I am currently resing in Saudi arabia

 • It is not the same price, there is almost 150USD difference in CN and global versions

 • True about the Hiboard, but there is a guided easy fix in XDA, so absolutely no problem at all here neither. The best phone i ever had... Really love it...

 • Yes, the international version supports Arabic.

 • Exactly you are totally right. I also bought the global HK version EVR-L29 C636. And everything works very well. There is absolutely no need to buy the C432 and pay it 900 euros on German official retailers; when you can get the C636 200 euros cheaper on some trustful websites. The only differences between C636 and C432 is that C432 comes with an EU charger and does not have HiBoard installed but this is absolutely nothing at all and spending 200 euros more only for that would just be crazy. I think Big Displays you can confirm it. This phone is simply amazing by the way.

 • But the Hong Kong version is the international version, not the Chinese rom version. There is 2 EVR-L29 versions (international), EVR-L29 c432 and EVR-L29 c636, both international versions out there. I have the Hong Kong EVL-L29 c636 version with all the Google services baked in. I bought it on the t-dimension site(German department), and they shipp it from UK to me in Denmark (no vat and taxes). They have nice Price's and a perfect service and even better turbo shipping service hahaha

 • And why you need to root such an expensive phone? Just buy the global version.. It's pretty the same price

 • What that question men... Sure There is big difference in software... Same body and hardware but big difference in software.. I don't know if the network is different too because Chinese have everything different

 • A store in lebanon told me that next week this phone will arrive to lebanon! Huawei told me to keep watching their pages.. The phone is going to be launched soon in middle east!

 • Sorry to say, but no.

 • It really does yes.

 • Its the same lnternational and Hong Kong version... Thats the shit (y)

 • MATE 20X coming with notifications LED ?

 • Does the camera shoots natural pics unlike samsung ?

 • Seriously now... Why doesn't this come to Greece??? I would gladly exchange my mate 20 pro for this!!!

 • Please answer some one , why its not coming to dubai ???? such a beautiful phone....

 • Hi, Is there a difference between international version and Hong kong version ?

 • Yes, the 20 X can shoot in RAW format. In PRO mode.

 • Can this phone shoot in raw format?

 • Nope, rumor's say it will come. I bought the L29 128gb and then a 256 nm card instead of waiting for the L29 256gb version. Im not a gamer, so 6gb or 8 gb will be the same for me, no different. And i don't regret, the phone is so awesome... REALLY

 • Geekbuying any good ??? can we buy over there ?

 • Does the 256 gb version available in global rom ? Thank you

 • Is it available in UAE?

 • Hi anyone purchased global version (EVR-L29) this phone in phantom silver color? If yes, please provide that link. I want to buy the global version silver color.

 • I also bought this phone. I ordered the International version EVR-L29 on wondamobile and it arrived in 1 week. Everything was great. Just the box was unsealed but it was stated that it could be open for checking...not a big deal because everything was fine even if we all prefer to have sealed box. It is an amazing phone. Big display with crazy specs. I don't know how people do with small display. With big display you don't even need a computer for most of the things and using it is a pleasure. Guys go for it you won't regret it!

 • You can install the google framework yourself if you check the online resources.

 • When is it going to get released in UAE? Why havent it been released yet??? Waiting for 2 months now.

 • Out of luck if you bought it in China. Phones for Chinese market comes with a version of android where google apps are mostly removed

 • I'm in Mauritius How to get this phone?

 • Note 9 much expensive. Mate 20 X is the king multimedia devices, 7.2 inch display , 5000mah battery, dual stereo speakers, graphene cooling, 7nm chipset. camera with nigh mode

 • are you a samsung fan boy or apple fan boy? this phone is amazing, aluminium frame, glass back panel with finger print grill design. full HD+ AMOLED display with 87% screen to body ratio near bezel less form

 • screen size is outstanding good for gaming, videos and web browsing but the body is not that big very sleek design thanks to its tear drop notch and non-curved edges

 • A real value for money smartphone. i bought the global version EVR-L29 online since its not locally available on country bundled with M-Pen, it is cheaper than the other flagship devices like Mate 20 pro, Galaxy Note 9, and almost half the price of an iPhone XS Max 256gb. But the specs are surreal. 6/8gb ram 128gb/256gb internal memory, dual sim card or expandable storage. 7.2 inch full HD+ resolution AMOLED display, triple camera equipped with Leica lenses with 40mp, 20mp ultra wide angle and 8mp telefoto. 24mp front camera. 5000mah battery for a whole day heavy usage. dual stereo speakers, dust and water splash resistant with gorilla glass protection and .... 3.5mm headphone jack! (rarity for flagship devices nowadays) also first phone to come with graphene cooling system and an 7nm chip processor, what more could you ask for? BEHEMOTH device bang for the buck

 • Hello guys, please anyone advise Huawei to release this phone in Dubai as well. I am very fond of it. I need to buy please.. looking at review...

 • the very best Mobile till now for everything

 • Did you buy AL00 version like Mate 20 X Dual SIM TD-LTE CN 256GB EVR-AL00 or Mate 20 X Global Dual SIM TD-LTE 128GB EVR-L29 Where dis you order it exactly because of taxes. Jow much did you pay it? I'm in neighbour country in EU. Does this Mate 20X have FM radio? Please answer. Thank you.

 • Thank you

 • Hey I have the Huawei Mate 20 X EVR-L29 and it took 5 days to get it in Denmark Europe and lots of info mail every time there was somthing new. And in original packet yes. The phone works 100% I can really say t-dimension is a good place for buying a phone. Awesome phone btw :-) Go 4 it...

 • The best phone I've ever had up to date

 • Hi mbw I will buy mate 20x from t-dimension too If you dont mind , i want to ask you, Did you buy the global version evr-L29 It was in orginal pack ? Did you have any trouble since you started using it? Thank you for your kind support

 • I bought this phone in China and I cannot load Google Play. Please tell me how you did it.

 • Guys i wanna buy this phone... but it seems it wont be released in egypt... is this phone support arabic language if i buy the global version from europe ... Thx

 • Perfect phone. Switched from s8 plus. No regrets. I have to say huawei is the best phone i have used so far.

 • Congratulation mate...256 gm version with 8 gb of RAM is like as rocket compared with s8 plus :)...i have on order the version of 128gb with 6gb of RAM...I am not a gamer and this combination is more than enough for me...I am after the big amoled screen and good camera ... You must be very happy with your next phone mate ... have a nice day :)

 • No,google play store and youtube not working on this phone. I went round 2 days ago browsing phones and this very caught my attention but when the sales guys tried all to install google play store,,,all failed. it installed but couldn't open.....it can use google play store.....check it carefully. I am in china though

 • Reply to rrr585: Yes, you can install Google Apps normally on the Chinese version. I have mine from China and I'm from Slovenia. Everything works normally except the HiVoice app (Virtual Assisstant) because there is no way to change the language from Chinese to English.

 • Thank u for ur kind suggestions- I m final for mate 20 x.....256 gb. Actually Galaxy s8 plus feels me small as i love big phone. Previously i used Huawei mediapad x1 7 inch ( stolen ), Xiaomi mi max 2. If mate 20 x would 16:9 ratio i will be more happy. Thank u

 • mate, you will not see the difference because of the low ppi, you will see it if you will use gear vr only. I just reused my honor mate 8 and sold my s9 plus, the big screen is the big screen, love it... mate 20x is on order from t-dimension. If you like the big phone go ahead, also see on youtube the reviews from Flossy Carter ... :)

 • Thanks bro.... Thinking.....

 • Hello, I wanna know is your chinese version mate 20 x working fine with google applications like play services, play store and YouTube etc. I am in china so I wanted to buy it as it has 8/256gb specs.... Kindly share your experience in this regard

 • With 346ppi sure you will not happy...

 • Anybody here switched from Samsung Galaxy S8 plus...? R u happy now...? Coz i love the xxl phone and wish to move. Screen quality and camera is the main concern. Thank u

 • I order mine on t-dimension in the German department yesterday and it comes with 1 year warranty and i live in Denmark.

 • Amazon.es and they provide you with European warranty

 • Thats why I decided to buy from other countries..as they prepare to sell the Porsche series...

 • So Sad its not released in Dubai stores, I was very anxious to buy this one. But in future also , i don't think it will arrive in Dubai.. Huawei should focus to bring this phone here in dubai..

 • How is it in hand. Isn't it too big. I bought Mate 20 Pro but the speakers are poor and the screen, it is 6.4" but doesn't seems like 6.4" rather than a 6"-er. Maybe because of the edge ...

 • Because why not. Of apples.

 • Same here, I had Note 9 and now Mate 20 Pro. I wish I had the X but in Europe they don't sell it officially and I didn't know about warranty But, battery way way better Wide angle camera..... Extremely usefull

 • it seems u never hold one of mate 20 series. u should compare previous generation, mate 10. yes, its expensive if ur not asian. very bad design? consult u doctor. u eyes may be dislocated.

 • From someone who had the note 9, and went to this phone, I can safely say I'm not looking back. Battery life is incredible on this - on light usage, you can get 4 days out of it, on average usage, easily 2-3 days usage. Camera is in every way as good and in some ways better, but it has a ultra wide angle lens which is a godsend on holidays. Its stereo speakers are much better as well, but its side firing. The 'low' PPI argument is a bloody joke - there is no way you can discern higher PPI without intensely looking. A 4k UHD 55 inch TV only has 80 ppi, 320 ppi is akin to a 16k tv with 55 inch. Seems like people here would rather have a higher PPI which looks nice on paper only, than the much better battery.

 • why?

 • hahaha 346ppi screen only hahahah are joking me? even huawei 40mp still cant beat Zeiss Optic is no 1 man

 • Not water proof nothing new in it very expensive not new design bad screen quilty very bad phone

 • Yep, and Mate 10, same here in Bulgaria. They are only pushing the crippled and boring models.

 • At which store it is available? please provide the link

 • Forget it, such phones are never available in Poland. Same was with Huawei P8 Max.

 • no its not

 • it is available...

 • its true NOTE 9 is loose on this phone, battery performance of flagship Huawei device is quite better even years of usage, compare to samsung note series after a year its over...

 • HUAWEI MOBILE confirmed to me in FB that this unit will not release in UAE and spoken to UAE sales person yesterday there's no info to release this item not even part of their training.. mine I will order it from Philippines the global version EVR-L29 around 3099 AED.

 • I bought a mate 20 and loved it, but I had to see the Beast, so I bought the mate 20x off eBay. Got the EVP-L29 model for a little over $800. This phone is the bomb. The pictures it can take, whether low light, portraits or scenery are amazing. The sound from the dual speakers is loud and clear. The battery lasts 2 days. The screen is superb, bright and crisp. I'm very familiar with EMUI and it's fine for me. I've been running square home and tried Nova launcher without a hitch. If you are a Phan of phablets, this is the one you want. I had tried min mix 3 but it felt inexpensive. The mate 20x is and feels like a flagship phone. If it had wireless charging and took regular microSD cards I'd call it perfect, but really, the battery is so huge you never worry about running out. 5 out of 5 stars.

 • I checked in Deira, naif road area, stores still the mate 20 x not available it seems. So do anyone knows when it will come to Dubai Stores, especially deira .... Please comment anyone. Thank you..

 • GSMArena....i request you to plz review this awesome device....really want to see its display, camera, speakers, n battery performence on GSMA tests....i hope it will ace'em

 • Lol, ignore him, he is a bitter Note9 user that cannot handle the fact that Huawei have beat the Galaxy Note series with the Mate 20 series. The Note9 has subpar battery life and Samsung batteries lose capacity within a few months, Note9 also has camera freezing issues that are still not sorted out, slow charging, Average Camera, average real world performance.

 • Does global version (L29) available in phantom silver color in any store?

 • U find the global version on Aliexpress. A link thx :-)

 • Samsung fans are the worst, you haven't even used the phone.

 • lmao samsungfriends going at it again

 • If you used the phone, you wouldn't say the same thing.

 • I found it in ali express and u can also find it in deira naif area where the mobile stores are all over the place. Make sure u buy the global version l29. Dont buy the Chinese version L00 coz banking and google apps wont work, even whatsapp and telegram

 • You can get it in ali express or just walk around deria mobile shop area. Usually they do get the global version Beware to buy l29 version which is global version, allowing u to use Google assistant, google apps and play store. Don't buy the chines version l00 Since non of google apps work nor will banking apps work

 • You're better off going with the Note 9. It is a more better all rounder than the Mate 20 X. IP68, wireless charging, better fit in the hand, great speakers, akg bundled headphones, better resale value, super amoled screen, 512gb internal storage option and option to add up to 512gb memory card. The list goes on, apart from cameras and performance, the mate 20 series brings nothing much to the table. Sub par memory read and write speeds too on the mate 20 series. Else just wait till the s10+ comes, huawei will be history by then if it hasn't already. Have a good one!

 • what about 360 degree both cam recordin o taking pic at once

 • Did yours come with global firmware?

 • my friend bought it from china in 700 dollars

 • Not available in Dubai.

 • In which stores in dubai , i can buy this phone . what will be the price approx. Please comment any one. Thank you everyone whoever replies.

 • mediamarkt / saturn means either Germany or Austria

 • I went down to a shop nearby to see the 20x for myself. To my disbelief for the PPI, the screen was beautiful. Played videos on YouTube with 1080pHDR.. It was amazing. The camera was also awesome. My advice to those wanting this piece, do check the phone out in person. I promise that you will be amazed by it.

 • You can get it online from sites like giztop liaow wondamobile sunsky aliexpress

 • Got mine for $709 from gizbot.com. plus shipping. They are in Hong Kong.

 • I got mine last week, and it is already my main phone. This is the best phone to come out since Sony's Xperia Z Ultra so many years ago. While not as wide or as tall as the Xperia Z Ultra, the Mate 20 X has more screen real estate for full-page web browsing, is easier to handle and pocket, and has EXACTLY the same image size as the Z Ultra when viewing HD content, except this now has a super-vivid AMOLED screen. The Mate 20 X L29 International version works perfectly well with Nova Launcher as its default launcher. Nova boots up just fine every time, so you can set it and forget it. EMUI 9 is ok, but the ability to get 6 or 7 icons per row, and all the other personalization tricks, make Nova worthwhile. The phone works very well on T-Mobile in the USA, with very fast data speeds. YouMail voice mail works perfectly with it too. The camera is incomparable, from Super-Macro to 0.6X wide angle to 5X telephoto, absolutely the best I've seen. I am just learning to use the "always on" display to show battery and notification status, and it's really only "on" when it's not in your pocket, and even then it uses practically no power. I am learning to like it better than the less-informative LED notification light. This is the new "IT" phone. Sony was stupid not to make it. Now we just need those Nano SD cards.

 • Don't buy it then, nobody forces you to do that.

 • 1080 only? why if its 4k resolution are you able to download and a 4k movie except from youtube? complaining for nothing? don't buy it simple as that!

 • its not in UAE they are just like amazon online.

 • where is that?

 • Anyone know if this phone is available in lebanon at any store??

 • available at MediaMarkt and saturn from Dec 4 on

 • He dont know better. If he has read about the phone he would know its every $ worth, good tech cost and are not for free. If he read about the phone he will know the notch can be removed in settings etc. etc. etc.

 • i am still searching for it, at UAE but no luck, i contacted huawei store at mirdif they said maybe it will be release at December if you find it just inform me

 • Do you have problems with the phone size?

 • It's not overpriced. It's price is the actual representative of what this phone is capable of. Look at all characterics again...

 • where can i buy Huawei Mate 20 X in dubai , Please reply anyone... I am waiting eagerly to buy... Thank you in advance

 • Notch..an ugly item..resolution is just 1080 pixels..watching full hd videos and enjoying multimedia content willnt be so amazing..price is too high..

 • Black color ,pls

 • why? are you planning to submerge your phone in the swimming pool?

 • in China version, many china apps are pre-installed, no playstore of facebook yet, you also have to configure english keyboard

 • In what way is it a Competitor? it totally knocks Mi Max off the F***ing stage

 • You can run nova but not set it as the default launcher. Lots of things don't work with either. I cannot remove things. Have to move to a new screen and delete whole page. Also cannot long hold on icons and change properties.

 • Mine is China version and does not let you change default launcher.

 • No it's total BS. If it were true Google would have stopped them using Android years ago.

 • how can i get it ?????

 • Test this phone :O i wait on battery life

 • I have Mate 20 Pro with Nova and it has a very small hicup with gestures BUT I fixed it very easy installing Fluid NG and it's perfect now

 • Thinker..... Thinker..... Think too all phones and speciali iPones.

 • guys I want to buy mate 20 x 8gb version I wanna ask is it normal than global..about update or upgrade new android is there any problem

 • Hi Adam, im also from Poland:) could You tell me, from which shop have you ordered this Huawei Mate 20 X?

 • Does anyone have info on the accusation that Hwawei has a backdoor on all their phones and by default uploads and saves all your data forever on their Chinese gov. servers and can record and spy on you anytime they want? Their phones are very tempting due to specs and screen size but that could be the lure to get as many of their spy devices into other's hands as possible. I never see people worried about this but yet the US gov has banned Hwawei phones due to them detecting malfeasance by Hwawei.

 • Mine came with English as default and Google Play installed. Check from the seller.

 • Thanks for sharing your experience! Could you please tell us where did you buy the phone?

 • I am also waiting for this Phone in UAE, Please let me know if you where to Buy it. I already checked with Huawei Store in Mirdif City Center Dubai and they told me Mate 20X is not going to release in UAE.

 • release in Germany on 4th of Dec.

 • Raj, does it incl..Full English language translation and not some parts in Chinese as is often the case with non-global ROMs.

 • So my mom bought this phone as a gift for me. 0w0 Costs PHP 60,000 included taxes and imports ( since she bought it from Singapore online), and I tell you what... Fantastic!

 • Please,.... we need black color. It is more beautiful. It is crazy to have blue color phone.

 • I simpy love this phone! I bought Global version and I use it in Poland. Everything is perfect. Honestly I haven't found any cons... I used Note 9 for couple months - of course perfect phone, but the battery does not cover my whole day... and I'm not a fan of curved screen. Battery in this awesome! Whole day of hard usage and still 30%. With Note 9 I had a problem around 6 P.M. Screen and sound is gorgous. It fits in pockets, I use it daily. The only thing is that camera is not as good as the one in Note 9 (nothing can compare to that). A little thing is that software is smarter when you use dual sim, than that one in Note 9. Mate 20 X is gorgous power phone. Worth the money!

 • Which colour u brought?

 • Fantastic phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 • Hi, I bought the phone and it is simply fantastic. Please check compatibility with your mobile phone operator. There are currently two versions available: the Chinese version and the Global version. highly recommended :)

 • Please comment anyone, when its releasing in Dubai. I am very anxious to buy this phone. Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

 • Yes it can use any 3rd party launcher. All u have to do is just give all permission to that app in the settings, and make sure dont use stock EMUI widget when using it, otherwise it will crash.

 • Which colour looks beautiful mate 20x?

 • Oh thank God, I was worried. GSM Arena mentioned in their "smartphone shopper guide" that Mate 20 Pro's EMUI does not allow third party launchers. Are they wrong or am I missing something here?

 • No. I'm using Nova Launcher on mine.

 • I bought the Chinese version and it already came unlocked.

 • Is it true EMUI does not allow third party launchers like Nova Prime?

 • Hi Raj, I just bought the Mate 20 X Chinese version. How did you unlock the phone? Is there a guide to unlock? Thanks, Michael.

 • 1. I don't agree with a higher PPI. The screen is still nice and crisp and it doesn't take a hit in terms of battery life. 2. There is a 8GB + 256GB option for those who want. 3. Yeah, higher water resistance is nice, but we got a 3.5mm and super great speakers in return for lower IP rating which is worth to me. 4. I don't need a pencil. I don't want it to take up space inside the phone if I don't use it.

 • U wait on battery life test.

 • With this features, sure the price would be higher than mate 20 pro, but, I don't think the price will be higher than iphone. Definitely will go for it.

 • Prettu sure. :-)

 • Sure 😘

 • Yup. Miss out on the headphone jack part.

 • Honor Note 10 does not have a headphone jack. That's an instant "no buy" from me.

 • No doubt about that. But Honor Note 10 is around the corner for half the price, reduce a bit in performance (kirin 970, still good with those Gpu Turbo), reduce camera quality (still not bad), headphone jack, great stereo speakers, big 5000mah battery, OLED, liquid cooling.

 • Then dont complain if its price higher than Mate 20 pro after those implementation.

 • Where did you purchase it? And are you experiencing any lag or hiccups with the software? And is it very fast? Also, is the battery life as good as I hope it is? Many thanks in advance.

 • if Huawei made this changes with the phone are you going to buy it? hahhahahaha...

 • After visiting Huawei outlet near by,I got 4 commends for this new hand set; 1st, PPI should go for more than 500 2nd, 8GB RAM is nicer 3rd, IP68 instead of IP53 4th, for more convenient, device should designed stylus to plug in( or maybe will pattern sued by some of the hand phone manufacturer, but I am sure Huawei will overcome this issue)

 • Please, send review of mate 20 x

 • This device is a million times better than the S8 Plus

 • This is one of the best phones out there right now. I hate the way Huawei butchers android with EMUI but the phone is a beast. I bought this for the large screen, stereo speakers and awesome cameras. If a manufacturer like OnePlus ever released a phone like this I'd be in my glory.

 • I wish to sell my galaxy s8 plus to buy this smartphone. Is it a right decision ? Will the screen be as good as s8 plus in media consumption? Thank u

 • No, it doesn't!

 • I love this phone. It's the best phone on the market.

 • No it doesn't. I thought this would bother me but it doesn't. I've got used to it.

 • Does this phone have a LED Notification Light? Thinking of Buying.

 • I want one

 • No band 28.. Sorry I'm Skipping..

 • Yes. Google Play and rest of Google's apps such as Gmail and YouTube came already installed and working on the device.

 • Is Google pay working in UK on chinese version?

 • It's a beast, I will be buying one well before Christmas :) :) :)

 • I'm based in the UK. I've bought 2 Huawei Mate 20 X's. The phone is outstanding and the best phone I've ever used. I'm keeping one phone and selling the other. The phone is the Chinese version and is unlocked so will work on many networks. I'm selling it for £800. If interested, please drop me a message here. Thanks.

 • As far as I know, this phone is not being released in Europe.

 • Does anybody have the info if this phone will be released in europe, since there is an euro price tag? Thank you in advance

 • when huawei mate 20 x is coming to dubai ... please any one inform. I am eagerly to buy this ...........

 • I really want the Mate 20 X is this getting a UK release? I am due an upgrade in the new year. Please Huawei take my money

 • The LTE bands are listed here and thanks to it having bands 2, 4, 5, 12, and 20, it should work just fine on T-Mobile. It's only missing bands 66 and 71.

 • I Im waiting for this device.

 • I've heard about the Hong Kong version (global version) but I'm curious if anyone has the opportunity to answer cause I really, really want this phone. Does anyone know if the Mate 20 X can be used in the USA and run on companies like MetroPCS/ T-Mobile? If there is a way that seone can direct me to a site or even figure out how I can find if it works on 4gLTE networks. Thanks for your time guys

 • In malaysia

 • Just bought thie mate 20x yesterday for about 900$ in Switzerland. Everything seems to work fine : no problem to uninstall most of Chinese apps, no problem to install WhatsApp, Telegram or banking apps. The only bug is not possible to change the default launcher. I now it still be possible soon. In Switzerland, it doesn't work buying Mate 20 (800$).

 • There are apps you can use, such as "NoLED", to use the screen to display lights/notifications as an alternative. Since this is an AMOLED display, this is particularly a good option.

 • Anyone looking to buy the latest Huawei Mate 20X with M Pen and Flip case included, pls message me at [email protected]. For £700.00 including shipping to the UK or any EEC countries excluding local tax or VAT which is Buyer's responsibility.

 • there Is no notification light for this model...too bad....even charging also no led indicator

 • Guys???is this phone already on new mexico???

 • then the refrigeration system is not enough to hold a high framerate? deception if that is the situation... if is only hot... for me is not a problem...

 • Even I have seen that someone with L27 version and obviously L1 drm saw that after one update de widevine version turns to L3!!! shocked! then I dont know what is happening :(

 • If you feel hot then it is right. The heat comes out from CPU and GPU. That is the meaning

 • e would be available in the Indonesia market

 • Hi, I just bought mate 20x. I try playing PUBG mobile however after several minutes playing, my phone become hot.. Anyone with same problem? I thought they have graphene cool inside however it become hot just after playing 1 game,I have honor 10 before.. Its not become hot like this phone. I notice it become hot only after I'm playing games.

 • Is there notification light for this model?

 • It is a bit complicated to understand what is exacly going on with the chinese and global versions about this L1/L3. If you wish just read the topic about Mate 20X on Xda forum (I cannot share the link here). It seems that some udpates solve or create issue with this Widevine... But some guys say that their chinese version is L1...And I believe them. Does anyone get chinese or global version in here? Could you share your experience with?

 • I dont know... may be is hacked in some way... but some shop (now i can not remember) told me that their chinese version dont have L1 then you can not enjoy netflix in HD... may be that L00 was hacked in some way... rooted and then changed the firmware... could you show me that information in any case? thanks!

 • Does anyone here know if this device would be available in the Philippine market

 • the ban by usa has wounded very bad huawei, you can get a mate 20 pro for 800 dollars or a mate 20x for 700 dollars in chinese webs likes aliexpress. i wonder how much huawei is gonna put the mate 20 line in a couple of months :)

 • Yeah...this I wanna know, which differences the both versions have. With Netflix it's not so important for me, but the menue and Google services are...and need to work with English / German

 • I was thinking like you till I've seen on Xda forum that someone posted the screenshot of its AL00 version (so the chinese one) with widevine L1...and we know that L1 is the one allowing you to watch in HD...usually on Chinese version there is L3 but it seems that with this one it is L1...if true that means that there is almost no differences beteween 2 versions... But maybe it also depends on some updates you can get or something like that...

 • the italian shop seem only has the chinese versions... The international version that allow netflix in HD is the L29. The 8g/256 version is a chinese version with only 480p in netflix (as usual in chinese phones). I recommend this shop

 • Only reminder that the international version that allow netflix in HD is the L29. The 8g/256 version is a chinese version with only 480p in netflix (as usual in chinese phones)

 • Nice...please post the link from the Italian shop...thanks

 • Good evening, I wanted to inform that of the device, there is a version 8GB RAM, and 256 GB of ROM, in addition there is also the FACE ID.I looked at the review on you tube, of this version, and then I bought this device this morning, on an Italian store. Bye

 • I don't want to buy the Chinese version of this phone. I do want to buy the global version. Does anyone know where I can buy a new Global International version of the Huawei Mate 20 X? Thank you.

 • Thanks for the reply. I also read on Xda developers and apparently there are some differences between chinese and international versions: - Widevine is L1 for international version (and not L3 on chinese one) which allow to play videos in HD - All menus and submenus are 100% in english in international version - 6 GB only for the international version, possibility to get 8 GB with chinese version - "OK google", some other features connected with Google might not work properly with chinese version whereas they work with international one Can someone confirm this? Considering this, I think that international (global) version might be better to get. Funkyhuawei already sells it, but there are also some others: eBay and wondamobile for instance... Did someone already buy from one of those store? Thanks in advance!

 • Soon i gonna sell my Chinese version of Honor note 10 and buy this wonder. I gonna buy the chinese model on Aliexpress where i buy all my phones, i live in Denmark (europe). Normally u can ask seller to install google store for you and uf not try to google the question on how to install google store on huawei, easy peasy really. So dont worry, go buy it. Normally the difference between global and international version is 00,1% and dont matter, is the same here i wrote in xda forum. But u can buy a international version if u want on funkyhuawei site (y)

 • So you bought the chinese version 8GB (EVR- AL00)? Could you please let us know where? Widevine is L3, isn't it? No problem to watch videos in HD? What about HDR? Google play was installed or did you do it by yourself? I know that the global version (EVR-L29, but only 6GB) is on arrival or already available on some online store. Do you guys, know the exact differences bewteen the global version and the chinese one? Thanks!

 • Damn this phone is nice. If you like big screens this is the phone for you. My Chinese version 8gb is buttery smooth. Screen crisp and bright. Speakers loud and clear. Huawei. Made one hell of a phone.

 • What I am converning this phone is not screen resoltuon. Full HD pentile could be OK. It has to sacrifice resolution to gain speed. What I realy worry is PWM at 245hz (the same as 20 pro). I had a very bad experience with Samsung S9+ (PWM at 215hz): heardache, dry/red/swallen eyes, epilepsy ... in the end I have to give it away. I wish I could get a flagship with DC screen. But the only one I could get is Asus Zenfone 5Z. Mate 20 use DC LCD screen but it is RGBW, which is not true RGB panel.

 • it is avilable. not officially though but through other sellers like XUNDD

 • Thanks for your feedback. You are satisfied with your 20x? I am hesitating between 20 or 20x!!! 20x seems to be too huge ... does it enter into a pocket???

 • How come this is not available in the Philippines?

 • With the 20X model, the ''Mate'' type regains the status of cult, vacant at least since Mate 8, since then Mate started to mean a coolish, trendy product for the masses..losing its spirit (No differences with P series, same size etc..). The dimensions of the 20X impose a sorting and the new limits to which it would come, it would be called '' explorer ''.. also the device repays in all, everything is just perfect, 2 day battery, great pics, great speed.. proving to be one of the most complete on the market.

 • hello .. why do you hesitate? the display is very nice, the resolution is not at all low and you can't see the pixels .. and you can set in various ways and in color temperatures. The Mate 20X is huge but still handy, one of the most complete devices on the market and one of the best I've ever owned

 • Hi, What do you think about the resolution of the screen of Mate 20x and Mate 20? For these prices ... IPS LCD for Mate 20 and only 350 ppi for Mate 20x!!! I am hesitating.

 • As far as I concern, the Malaysia Mate 20 series comes with International ROM software and it will be in English. This phone will launch at 11th November for RM3199 and comes with free flip case and M-Pen.

 • Chinese version comes with Google services. simply install play store directly from hiapp store is the works.

 • Honestly this phone looks amazing, but without wireless charging and IP68 it is not worth $800+. If it ever gets to $500USD it'll be great value for money.

 • Honestly, anything above 300ppi is fine. Anything more than that is just a waste of battery.

 • Are they global version? Do they ship everywhere in Europe?

 • I mean, they updated the info about this phone. So it is AMOLED. I am impressed but at the same time disappointed because of the resolution... I ain't judging about their company but they do have the money to buy QHD+ displays for this beast

 • There are 2 shops in Switzerland who sell this model - -

 • Yes you won’t get any google play store on it , you will have to download manually

 • U will not have any problems at all. Most often u can ask seller for install google play for u, but try google have easy u can do it your self. " install google play on chinese huawei mobile", sooo easy to do urself really. And no problems having other Google apps, like gmail etc.

 • I would love to get this phone, but I can't find it anywhere i Europe. Does anyone have any information when will this be available in Europe?

 • I live in the UK and I would like to buy the Huawei Mate 20 X. If I get the Chinese version of this phone, will I be at any loss? ie are there any negatives or problems of getting a Chinese version of this phone. Will I get Google Play installed on it. Also, will I be able to install apps from the Google Play store?

 • Will Mate 20X launch in Pakistan?Does someone know about it please??

 • When huawei mate 20 X come to Medan Indonesia, I love Huawei smart phone very much

 • Does someone know the SAR value of the device?

 • OK, you seem to be very happy with your different purchases. But one important point is that I think that in Denmark there are not so many bands used for the network (2 or 3 maximum if I am not mistaken) and those ones are almost always supported by chinese devices. Whereas in other countries in Europe you have 4 and up to 5 bands used by the carriers and you might quickly have a problem if half of them are not supported by your chinese device. I checked this on kimovil website and for instance regarding the Honor 8X Max only 2 bands are supported in 4G (out of 4 or 5) in the country I am currently livint (France). That's why I "cannot" this device. The only devices which support all the bands (I mean 4 or 5) are Mi Max 3 and Mate 20 X, so I gotta make a choice between them and the Mate 20 X seems so great that I prefer this one at the moment even if expensive....

 • U will not get fake rom on those honor models u named here. And they work totally perfect in all conditions. Honor note 10 is really a great phone and should be enough for me. But i simply most have the mate 20 x, phone nerd u know hahaha. Big display is my preference no. 1 in these years, because phones have so good specs overall. Go buy one og them we talk about and u will be happy, for sure (y).

 • Will this work in Australia?? I could not see LTE band 28

 • I also brought the honor note 10 from sunsky and i also own the honor note 8 which i purchased last year from a company called gizok. Both phones have english language and work perfectly fine for me in England on three mobile network. Its basically a global rom as everything is in english and it came with the playstore preinstalled. I really didnt need to upgrade to the note 10 as the note 8 is fantastic, but the note 10 has better speakers, better gpu and is marginally faster. If the mate 20 pro was cheaper id buy it but i think the honor note 10 is a great buy and works perfectly fine in england on three. The big suprise for me is that the honor 8 seems bigger than the note 10 because of the aspect ratio.

 • I get it. Thanks! But you are surely an expert user of Chinese phones, aren't you? Because one point urging me to prefer the global version is that I am scared to get some fake ROM or not to handle to handle with the Chinese ROM properly and screwing it up... Honor 8X Max and Honor Note 10 don't support so many bands of European carriers...I am curious to know how it is going for you in Denmark with those phones?

 • Thanks for your answer! I intended to buy Xiaomi Mi Max 3 but this Mate 20 X looks definitely better even if kind of expensive... I also considered Honor Note 10 which seems to be a beast as well but the current version supports only 2 bands (out of 4) of my 4G carrier in my country... So you always buy on Aliexpress. You are based in US, aren't you? Because I am in Europe and it is not the most popular. Did you ever get an issue buying from them or was it alright at each time?

 • Im Danish (Denmark, Europe). And i never had any problems at all... Really not. Mi max 3, honor 8X max and honor note 10 are all very good phones for the money, no doubt about that. M20X is expensive, but the specs really rocks to... For me they does. Dont be afraid buying in China, i got good service always. The mi max 3 i was forgot to mention i buy from chinese seller Sunsky, i got my money back after we agreed i returned the phone cause a fake rom... (Y).

 • Did you have any problems installing apps from Google Play on your Chinese Honor phone?

 • Thanks for your answer! I intended to buy Xiaomi Mi Max 3 but this Mate 20 X looks definitely better even if kind of expensive... I also considered Honor Note 10 which seems to be a beast as well but the current version supports only 2 bands (out of 4) of my 4G carrier in my country... So you always buy on Aliexpress. You are based in US, aren't you? Because I am in Europe and it is not the most popular. Did you ever get an issue buying from them or was it alright at each time?

 • At Aliexpress as i always do. Right now there is a international version to get from Funkyhuawei, tjek it out. Here some Frankietech

 • I dont care if its global or Chinese, right now i have a Honor note 10 with Chinese rom, its 99,9% like a global version, so no problem at all.

 • Where do you intend to buy it then? A global version should be available even if not released in Europe, or I am mistaken?

 • Itls already 670 eur in Hong Kong and it's international version :) If you guys want to buy int'l version of chinese phones, check out Hong Kong market.

 • Do you mean that you prefer to buy the global version in China or buying the version with chinese ROM?

 • Nope, no EU release... Cant wait much longer to get this, anyway even we hot this in Denmark i would buy it in China... The price is much more fun there.

 • Any global version released in Europe? Does someone know it?

 • Does this phone support Google ARCore, can anyone checked this?

 • Why is this not offered in the Philippines?

 • Wireless charging... Bad it dont have, but really doesn't matter for me, was getting use to this very quickly. But waterproof hmm, really... i had never understood why it is so important for people, we don't swim with it i think. I can walk with my dog and do other thing outside in massive rain with all my phones without any problems, so i don't understand why it is that important to have ??

 • Fm radio like the Mate 20?

 • no wireless changing no waterproof but IP53 dust and splash protection.

 • No

 • Wireless charging? Anyone, anyone?

 • It is indeed an Oled Panel

 • I feel like this should be OLED if it is this size. Bit disappointed but I will give credit to Huawei for their effort on the camera and building the size that is literally a mini iPad

 • I am also Note 8 user and tempted by the latest offering. Still the Mate 20 Pro seemed the best balanced mix compared to all the latest smartphones released this year thus far. Waiting to see the next Honor Play 2 coming out soon to see how this stacks out with the rest.

 • I know what you mean about the honor note 8. I've been using mine since release here also in the UK. And I Love the screen size. Before the note 10 came out I thought I might upgrade to that, but seemed to be a few steps in the right direction with some things but not others. Ie bigger screen, better camera, but lost the audio jack and don't like the aspect ratio. Mate 20 x seems even better then the honor note 8 imo. But is it worth it? Yes it doesn't have the nice aspect ratio of the note 8 but it's bigger and it does have less resolution but it's bigger :) still has the audio jack and a better camera. To me the 20 x seems a bit of a upgrade to my note 8. Just not sure I want to shell out 750pounds for one atm... To be honest if a carrier in the UK had one on a plan I'd probably get one and if it was a UK version. I still have minor issues with my aps ie Chinese stuff with my note 8.

 • Does this phone support Google ARCore, can anyone checked this?

 • Thank you

 • its quite simple don't buy it, I think no body is forcing you to buy....

 • I bought it from Ebay.

 • Can anyone confirm if this has wireless charging or not? Seems odd if it doesn't have it.

 • Such a shame thought this might of been a replacement for my Honor Note 8 (6.6" AMLOD) Not taking a backward step though and downgrading to FHD, the note 8 is well over 2 years old and had a QHD OLED still fantastic IMHO. Why the notch? I watch a lot of media so no good to me, and the Aspect Ratio, looks like screens will never go back to 16:9 (preferred Media viewing)

 • I live in UK too. Would you please help me and let me know where are you getting the phone from and how?

 • Has nothing to do with the sim card at all. But the phone is multi language, so go get it. Im living in Denmark europe and i going to get it to. My language is there to.

 • a question does this phone got a led notification light? thanks alot

 • If I want to use this phone in the UK - does it matter if I buy this phone factory unlocked from China or another country like Malaysia? Will the firmware and language be in Chinese? Or when I put a UK sim, the language will be in English. I would like the language for the phone to be in English. Appreciate if someone can help with this. Thanks very much.

 • Yes,20X had all Lte Bands for Europe/UK

 • This phone will work

 • I'm from the UK. I'm not sure if the phone's bands work in the UK. Can anyone help with this? Thanks very much.

 • Where are you from? Is the band compatible to your home country?

 • Thank you! of course I was thinking about the bands.. I hope will be a global version with all the needed bands... good luck for us!

 • Is it available in UAE?

 • Pretty sure this will have a pentile oled display which is not good for a screen this size

 • Which country are you based? Also, which website did you buy it from? Is the phone factory unlocked? ie can I buy it factory unlocked and put a UK sim card in it? Thanks very much.

 • I'm based in the UK. Will this phone be releaed in the UK? If not, which sites can I buy a new factory unlocked Mate 20 X?

 • For rear mounted finger print sensor, if my finger is wet(probably sweat) and i touch it to unlock what will happen?

 • When? I’m in the us and I really want one

 • Just to clarify, as a previous commenter has already said, this was released in China today and there is in fact a 8GB RAM 256GB storage variant, So the numbers given on this site are correct, but they have failed to acknowledge that there is a second variant, my guess as to why would probably be because it wasn't widely reported in the media or in reviews etc, I'm going to take a guess and say that Huawei probably intend for it to be a strictly Chinese only release, and that if there is ever a 'Global Edition' released, which is yet to be confirmed, it more than likely won't carry the upgraded RAM or storage. Having said all of that, as a fan of big screen phones, I've gone ahead and pre ordered mine from a fairly reputable Chinese seller and am looking forward to receiving it in the coming weeks.

 • looking at the lte frequencies, this device is att and tmobile friendly in the u.s.

 • Do not worry: a global version will be released for sure and you will be able to buy it online (on some websites). Huawei itself stated that for the die-hard fans it will be possible to buy on some stores online but they just strongly recommend to ensure that the supported bands match your carrier.

 • will be released today but... not in europe :( Only if we call and go several times to ask for to Huawei directly or... Vodafone and other operators they will contact huawei about this lovely megaphone... and even then... may be huawei dont wish to bring here for some other reason :(

 • Released in Chinese market today. They do have a 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM version, which I think is one of the best phablets so far.

 • It is not supposed to be released today?

 • Does it look like I care, no I dont

 • Undoubtedly for quality finders , the best midrange of 2018 . Sadly with the notorious quality corrupted without radio plus recording RDS !!! The highest price of it some X place in the world will be unbelievable $ 5000 dollars that decrease the chance of having it for millions '!!!GsmArena review gives better complete review. Thanks all ....Justice Rights.

 • Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro already available for pre order. When will this phablet pre order start?

 • Wow...., this phone look great, wonder will this phone available in Singapore on released date?

 • Get a pocophone F1 and see what a beast feels like..

 • ahahahahhah not read this comment ,doesn't make any sense

 • I think Amazon is your best bet :)

 • You're probably right! By the way, do you guys know where this phone will be available online?

 • Are you taking him serious ? A man with the nickname Mr. LoL ? My brother in law has P20 Pro and had not even 1 single problem.

 • Can you explain more about please?

 • no matter what spec huawei just failed with kirin battery drain 2 problem with huawei not worth money to buy

 • are you talking about dx?the one who test huawei camera? company test is not = for us to call it beat camera. btw ziess opctics is better to leica optics do you know that?this brand uses leica optics

 • So why was it said that there will be a launch in Europe on 26th of October? Anyway, this is a global version with all supported bands, so it should not be complicated to buy an imported one....

 • actually on this very website

 • Huawei likes to tease. Still no pre-orders in Europe and only China.

 • So true. All brands should really work for more battery power in all phones, dont think it should be any problem for them at all... So don't understand they don't make it. Me my self have lots of mah for years now and will not buy a phone with less then 4000mah. I have the zenfone 3 ultra 4600mah for around 2 years. Now i got the honor note 10 5000mah and honor 8X max 5000mah. I never need more mah then i have, thats damn nice.

 • U have some info here:

 • Where did you read that? It was supposed to be launched in Europe on 26th of October...(maybe not in every single country but still...). I would really find weird to make an official communication (in english!) on internet 1 week before the event of the 16th of October to let everyone know about this phone, then talk deeply about in an event organized in Europe (London!) for ending not to launch it in Europe....I hardly believe it. Anyway, there will still be the possibility to import the global version from Asia (it is alrealy one as I see the bands supported)...

 • Great so just read that #1 they dont plan to release the 20x anytime soon in europe (supposedly we dont like big phones (using a honor note 8 since release)) - sometime in 2019 it is suggested it will release. And #2 they cant release in the states either currently.

 • After buying an S9 last Saturday I realized that any "flagship" $400+ should not come with less than 4000mAh. 3000 is just a joke, look at the 20X, even thinner than the S9 with 66% more battery for 54% more battery and a new 7nm SOC. Samsung really need to up the batteries to at least 4000mAh for the base S10, or even 4500.

 • Google is your friend... or maybe not, they will release a 8gb variant to.

 • I think ALL Huawei Phones should now come witha WARNING: Do NOT buy this Phone, if you wish to UNLOCK it (bootloader) & ROOT it!!! Enough said, I will NEVER EVER buy another Huawei Android Device, NEVER AGAIN!!! You have been warned people.....

 • Does huawei mate 20 x support 2 sim and memory card at same time

 • why 6g ram only plus the pixels are less

 • Is there any information about the SAR value of the Mate 20 X? Same as Mate 20 Pro?

 • I believe Mate 20 X is the best of Mate 20 series because it has good features of both Mate 20 and Mate 20 pro : 1.very big screen (maybe you dont like this!) 2.flat screen(not curved, like mate 20) 3.OLed display like 20 pro 4.low price than 20 pro 5.fast fingerprint sensor (face id is not fast and reliable.althogh thouch id is fantastic but not fast ) 6.best phone camera ever! (like mate 20m pro)

 • Where you get all this from, your own investigation or. We all know who win the camera competition in 2017-2018 Does it sound familiar to you

 • You can remove the nocth if you want.

 • It is a good phone. Can't wait to have it in my hands. Only a centimetre taller than note 8 and about 4-5 mm wider. Not a big difference in handling I suppose

 • this is the phone for the people who uses their 70% of their is on the social medias. why?majority of smartphone users knows that this brand and uses 40mp captures painting images or we should say it unnatural images. good for instagram, flickr, tumblr, and others.

 • So, smaller notch is more premium these day? There still some bit of bezel there top and bottom.

 • Thanks for the reply! You confirm what I thought about Mi Max 3... But for me this high SAR value is really a problem. Almost 1.6 is really a huge value...when there are children around (even if it is absolutely better not to give them any phone) it would always be in my minde that in the house we have an apparatus which has this high SAR value and could have been easily changed if made another choice of smartphone... I guess this is none of your consideration but for me that is the main point that urges me not to buy it at the moment...

 • This phone actually has a smaller footprint than the original Sony Xperia Z Ultra....which had a 6.4 inch screen. I owned that phone back in 2013 and it seemed big compared to your average smartphone back then. I guess nowadays the mate 20 x will not seem that big compared to today's size standard.

 • I have a Mi Max 3 and can vouch that overall it's a very good phone for the price. As I'm based in the United Kingdom I had to import it via www.eglobalcentraluk.com and in total I only paid £210 for the Black dual 4gb Ram/64gb storage (Global Version) variant. If your a powerhouse user for games and productivity you might find the device slightly underwhelming because of the snapdragon 636 performance limitations. But other that and not having NFC the phone is a real beast for the price. Especially the long battery which cant even be beaten with the current flagship phones due to it having a 5500mah capacity. My only regret is not paying the bet extra and going for the 6gb/128gb variant.

 • mate 20x will arrive on 26th October.... but i dont know what countries in Europe will have it available. Seem that vodafone will bring it to Spain...

 • Does anyone know when the phone will be released in Europe? I guess that it will then be a global version? In the specs it appears that it supports nearly all the bands so it is reassuring.... Anyhow, this phone looks great even for the ones who don't intend to mostly be on games with...According to me it is a great phone also for the ones who watch a lot of videos and who have access to legal streaming. Just the price is a bit high. 900 euros is exagerated. One last question: does anyone have a Xiaomi Mi Max 3? Because I was very interested in this phone because looking for a phablet with huge screen, found it a great value for money, but one huge con was the very high SAR value....for this reason I would maybe wait for the Mate 20 X even if the price is a bit too high...

 • sorry sir i can't help you. i just informed that the specs here lists USA bands. the phone has not been released. things could change on the general specs. be patient. Huawei should list it on their website for you to see as well.

 • I Read the specs as well but I read elsewhere that it doesn't support 4g. Is this true or not?

 • I looked up AT&T's LTE Bands and 3G Bands and it already supports them (click on the line that says "Network" and compare them to the Bands on Google, but before you buy double check with AT&T Directly) and all you have to do is know how to go into settings, find the one for language and set to English (or whatever your preferred language is) and write that process down.

 • Probably because they don't see it as a small convenient media consumption device but target it at gamers giving both a full smartphone and Switch Gaming Platform like experience. I wish it had a radio too though, but then again I also wish I could afford one. Also I am guessing that they put an IR to act as a wireless controller for Android OTT Gaming/TV boxes. Just a guess though.

 • Clearly you looked at pictures but did not read the specs. the frequency bands supports all USA Carriers.

 • is the site even legit?

 • Why do not you have any radio phone with an infrared?!!!

 • I hope they do an international version so I can use it on AT&T here in the states.

 • The godfather of all phones

 • Giztop has it. Ordered yesterday

 • this is the 40mp that captures painting images again that good for instagram posting and other social media apps out there not for memories and not for albums. maybe huawei must consult to those brands that is veteran on camera's not on the wants of people who wants to look not them what do they call it 'beautification'?camera of samsung = camera of huawei bout they captured unnatural. is this the innovation of china brand and korean brand?

 • Hey guys what talking about so much phone and price. sorry first talking about price and talking about phone ok hey guys see 2g, 3g, 4g, 5g.... And camera and things ok... Thank u.

 • It was in my list too but they didn't release in my country.

 • It's not available anywhere for pre order

 • You mean the Honor note 10? :)

 • Nice tablet

 • You left out the fact that Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has an IPS LCD display (compared to the OLED display of the Mate 20 X) and a far inferior chipset (Snapdragon 636 [14nm] vs Kirin 980 [7nm]). How convenient.

 • xiaomi mi max 3 is better , 3X cheaper , huge battery 5500mah ,better battery life , no notch display, has infrared

 • Now on sale at aliexpress.com US$942 or US$1,130 depending on the memory choice.

 • I don't like the tall aspect ratio. 16:9 media will be displayed in 6.4" diagonal if you don't measure the black bars on either side. The low resolution is also disappointing. I'm still waiting for a true successor to the Honor Note 8.

 • no difference 300 or 500.

 • im saying a fact it´s 178 mm 7,2" vs my oppo n1 175 mm 5,9"

 • 18:9 is useless for photos & videos because they are in 16:9. It's because of Google & MI MIX

 • I'm waiting for first stylus of Huawei eagerly.

 • 346 ppi density..... 7.2''

 • I am saying a fact, sorry if this bothers you. It is 174 mm tall vs 158 mm...

 • that would be perfect ...

 • Hahaha That was a good one, made my day!

 • You are right but the 16:9 is the perfect ratio.

 • Anybody know where you can order this from?

 • So glad to have a powerful phablet back after the great Sony Z Ultra (when nearly the whole world ignored such) and Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra.

 • bee youti full

 • I dislike the ratio. needed to be max 18:9 and no narrower. I like the width.

 • I just ordered a mi max 3 last night. Then I see this new phone today... immediately cancelled my mi max 3 order. And then I see the price: this is more expensive than 3 x mi max 3's. WOW. I promptly cancelled my cancellation request for the mi max 3 - it will have to do for now :p This looks like a GREAT phone, but I'll hold off until the price comes down a bit.

 • Great phone has landed, could be the best battery on any phone this year. Great camera great performance of everything. This will surely the top iPhones latest phones. I am happy but this is not to enter my country any time now. It might only get here early next year. Am waiting for it. I wish I could order for one on kikuu.com or AliExpress but it wouldn't be there to order. Where can I order one? I want to use one before any body else in my country. Thank you.

 • How are OLED and the aspect ratio a problem. I think this ratio is better for gaming, I mean many gamers play on their big-ass 21:9 screens

 • An excellent challenge to the present competitors. Cons : OLED display. Obviously with this size isn't possible a screen ratio of 16 : 9. Lack of FM radio.

 • What do you expect? It's huge and it has 3 cameras on the back. You think the thing isn't going to be heavy?

 • Come to daddy... buuttt will wait for a speciel offer or something like that... No doubt i must have this beast. Finally a big one with really good specs. Sold my Mi max 3 yesterday, my Honor 8X Max i put on sale today and then i will keep my Honor note 10 until the day comes with the right price for the M20X and the goodbye note 10... But have to say i love my note 10, buuuttt can always use a bigger phone and especially with some ratio specs looks like my old loving 16:9 format.

 • Amazing phone. It has an EU release in 26th of this month at €899. Can anyone confirm this will include the UK? Strange there is no price in £££. 799 hopefully. Thank you

 • ill buy this for sure...sooo peerfeccttt!!!!! even iphone xs max can't compete this

 • Heavy as hell....

 • Regardless of the ridiculous price, its great to finally have a flagship specced phablet back on the block. It has been many years since any OEM has done this. Large screen phones are always lower specced for some reason.

 • you're kidding right? bro it's nothing compared to this one. for one, why would you compare the divine with a mere mortal being...

 • lols. your comment is so laughable. really, i had good laugh. to be honest though, mm3 is no match for this beast. you're no techie for sure.

 • For marketing gimmicks. The iphone 10 with its 5.8" screen was significantly smaller than the iphone 8+ screen which was 5.5". The galaxy note 9 claims to have a 6.4" screen but with the curved edges and narrow aspect ratio, along with the on screen navigation bar, it is actually very small. Now companies are throwing in notches on phones (cough google) and calling their phones 6.3" when they are actually smaller or about the same size as a 16:9 5.5" phone like the iphone 8+. Its all marketing trash.

 • Funfact: Even its big as Tablet with a houmungous 5000 mAh battery it weights less than XZ2 premium which is a lot smaller with a lot smaller battery.

 • Well king of the jungle or Even beasts have its name. This is Huawei Mate 20 X the phone killer of 2018. Other brands just cant compete. Also cheaper and a trillion times better than Note 9 most ugly phone of 2018 along with XZ3 amd Pixel 3 XL.

 • Samsung is to blame for creating a new fashion and shifting away from normal 16:9 screen ratio! This Huawei phone is now back to 86mm width Which is a perfect width and The original Samsung Mega phone was 88mm (would have been 86mm if with today’s bazels ). So what was the point of switching away from 16:9 ratio when with simply cutting down the bazels on 16:9 phones with 6.3 or 6.5 screen would have been much better looking than today’s remote control looking phones? 6.3 inch phones with normal 16:9 ratio look bigger than 7 inch phones with a new ratio.

 • Really cool phone. I'd love to have one. What I don't like is the 1080 oled. For lcd it's great but oled not enough. I'm also afraid the oled will make really yellow whites after a year or two. The notch is manageable but annoying still. For consuming media it's still a bit noticeable. Also I think the phone will have few users because of its high price. It's great that we have a big flagship though. Previously we didn't.

 • I going to get this mate 20 X as well. Great job huawei.

 • huawei makes the best phones im so inlove with this x mate model.....everything about it

 • You don't know anything either. Study harder. Specs, components and reviews. Every bit of it. Even mm3 will be no match against Honor Note10. This phone intend to be the most bad ass ultra large phone with best camera right now.

 • Enormous and goofy gadget for unreal price of chinese phone. To small for tablet, and to big for phone.

 • hahhahaha....joke for the day...good luck..

 • I love the screen size, unfortunately the phone doesn't support LTE band 28 (long range 700 Mhz), not for our market

 • Lwhy are you complaining? it is slightly larger than my iphone 8 plus. it's a tad longer, but insignificantly wider. It wont make a huge difference in the pocket. But that screen, compared to 5.5 in my 8+ ... Not to mention the battery! OMFG!

 • yo guys, I never realized that there is still ppl from us / Europe interested on Huawei flagship since USA love to ban this n that, basically anything related to Huawei they will ban it because of the socalled spy-shxtte theory. anyway I am in for Huawei mate 20x, cannot afford to buy m20p, so I juz gotta wait a few mth until the m20x price drop, and then I ll get 1 unit. loving my m10p so far, update patches also fall on time, yea kirin 970 is still rather power hunger esp when it comes to long hour gaming, hopefully kirin 980 will give me a bigger positive surprise.

 • graphene cooling? damn Huawei Mate 20x is tearing other flagships brand as of now with best gaming performance

 • How can you say MM3 is no match for this. 1. the price, for sure this is expensive. 2. the chipset on this phone is not good for gaming or long time use. 3. for sure this phone will get easily heat up.

 • how can you sure MI MAX 3 is no match? this cant stand for long for gaming and movie. and for sure, this will heat up for a short period of time.

 • Seriously, 7.2 inch screen? This phone is bigger than your head! :O

 • graphene cooling? damn Huawei Mate 20x is tearing other flagships brand as of now with best gaming performance

 • 188.55:99 is actually the same as 17.6:9 :P

 • Did you even read the specs of X20? It has a headphone jack.

 • i want this but i dont want that price, maybe ill wait until dec

 • I will buy this if the price is not on the higher side

 • camera same as P20 Pro? ?? very less Pixel rates can identify easily. no phone jack!! adapter to use it horrible!!

 • The preliminary reports say it will. Only missing the two higher bands for T-mobile on LTE...which I dont see used often. 2, 4, 12 are most likely included which are the main ones. The Mate 9 works with no problems usually.

 • finally, my next phone for sure

 • MI MAX 3 cant win over M20X you can compare it to Honor note 10 but still MI MAX 3 is nothing...

 • If I read the specs correctly this phone should work on Tmobile in USA. Can anyone confirm this?

 • We considered it as a tablet. Yes, it is a tablet, not a phablet.

 • Went from a Note 3,4,5to a Mate 9,10. I never looked back. Now for the future. A M20X in my hands in the near future.

 • The mi max 3 comes close sans the powerful chipset.

 • I absolutely love this beast. This is exactly what I was looking for, homongous display, big battery, 3.5mm jack, fingerprint reader, powerful chipset, but... I don't plan on spending 900dlls on a phone, ever. Not even my dream phone. I'll be patient and wait until next year to see if price drops a little or wait until I can get a good discount. Either way, god job Huawei. Kudos to you.

 • Finally found my next phone... Farewell my beloved MI Max 2 :'(

 • No... mimax 3 is very far from this one in terms of specs

 • Mi Max 3 competitor!

 • Me too..

 • Hope it'll have a very bright screen, readable in brightest sun light. I'm hoping to be able to use it as navigational aid (gps) in may car, and, this country (Arabia) has very bright sun.

 • Buy pants with big pockets not even phablet just a simple tablet -.- (2020) 10 inch aspect ratio 188.55:99 lul

 • I've used a 6.33" (16:9 AR) Le Max Pro for the last 2 years. Before that, for 3 years, a Sony Xperia Z ultra (6.4" 16:9 AR, 1080p). The zultra was a tad bit too large (but super thin), with only 68% S:B ratio. This new 7.2" phone with the wonky aspect ratio (18.7:9) is actually smaller than the Z ultra with a bigger screen area (about 10% bigger). Trust me when I say it is fine. Do I take my phone out when I'm at the bar or driving? Yes. But standing up, in the pocket it is fine, and i'm a normal sized man. Finding a large screen phone with good specs isn't easy. The note 9 with its super narrow screen and curved edges (glare city) is like a toy to me and unusable. I'll be buying this phone when it goes on sale in in a few months, I hope.

 • That's for you but others prefer it that big because of the advantages that come with it.

 • this is too big for a phone. my S7 edge is the absolut maximum dimensions I think a practical phone can have, I even think its a little too big, in retrospect I should have gone for the nirmal S7.. But over 7"?? thats well into TABLET territory for crying out loud.

 • Are you sure about no wireless charging? Can't find it anywhere, one way or another

 • It's good to see another phablet and still maintaining the audio jack. I will buy it.

 • Waiting for this since 1968, when I was first allowed too use the phone. Finaly a phone , big screen TV , and a drive-to theater, all in one. I can't wait for the next model, that will most likely play vinyl records and rail to rail tapes. Wow,, those are indeed exciting times.

 • Assuming this is $900USD on release (october 26, as per presentation): Vs. Honor note 10: -$500 more (more than twice the price) +0.25" bigger screen but nearly same resolution -Narrower (18.7 vs 18.5 aspect ratio) +Vastly superior cameras +Vastly superior battery life +Vastly superior Performance (GPU, cpu, etc) ?Possibly works in US market on LTE beyond Band 5 (ATT only) +Has headphone jack ?Possibly has wireless charging +Some water (splash) & dust resistance (IP53) If this phone were $600USD I'd be jumping for joy but $900 i'm meh about it. Wait 6 months for a price drop maybe?

 • For my part i think its okay, i always use a flip case on my phones, so i think it can be safe in it. But its a fail making a stylus without a place to place it, not smart. Btw, love this beast.

 • Will sell my samsung s8+ to buy this monster. Awesome phablet.

 • They have 8GB / 256GB version

 • Very sad that it doesn't have built in display fingerprint sensor :( including this it could be absolutely perfect phone! Hope one plus 6T or Xiaomi mi mix 3 will have stereo speakers same like mate 20 series X and pro

 • Finally, a large phone with a headphone jack, OLED screen, large battery, great speakers and a powerful new (7nm) chip. This is likely my next phone.

 • Very sad that it doesn't have built in display fingerprint sensor ☹️😖 including this it could be absolutely perfect phone! Hope one plus 6T will have stereo speakers same like mate 20 series

 • the dream one

 • 0. Insane 7" AMOLED screen with HDR, DCI-P3 gamut, CHECK 1. Best Cameras, CHECK 2. Fastest SoC, CHECK 3. 6GB RAM, CHECK 4. 128GB flash, CHECK 5. Memory card slot, CHECK 6. BT 5.0, NFC, IR Blaster, USB3.1, AptX HD, WiFi AC, all GPS networks, CHECK 10. 3.5mm headphone jack TAKE MY MONEY! Total Dream phone, thank you Huawei!

 • May i will upgrade to this one or the regular version of mate 20 don't like pro version design

 • Huawei M Pen? Really?

 • Can't wait this phablet into my pocket!!!!

 • LMAO. I just noticed that. Also, everyone that complained about the iPhone XR's PPI, now complain about this phone's PPI

 • Beautiful, even though it's big AF

 • This phone is just amazing... Apart from the teardrop notch, everything is spot-on. Too bad the Galaxy Note series isn't what it used to be anymore. Now I know what will be my gaming phone next year...

 • Lol yes how do they do that… incredible magic!

 • Mate 20 pro too small but higher resolution, Mate 20 X big enough, but low resolution. Huawei has messed it up completely. Not gonna buy that crap.

 • I love it, How the f*ck do you get 104.5% STB!? Ô.õ

 • No wireless charging is a deal breaker :(

 • Great for gaming, movie addict. With that price would be ok, just the memory I think not quite enough

 • My next tablet for sure. Good job Huawei.

 • they gave you bigger battery they gave you small notch with thinner bezels they gave you headphone jack still people complain, just keep all the complain coming guys haha

 • Too bad the stylus has no slot inside the Phone like the Note series. The rest seems promising. The tiny notch and 345ppi probably won't bother me. I like the design.

 • incredible phone, base on price and aspects

 • 345ppi @ 7.2" they are taking the Mick at that price

 • Lol. Screen to Body ratio is 104.5%. The Mate 20X can go faster than the speed of light too.
