Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) - User Reviews

 • Possibly the 5G modem is more efficient ?

 • Most people calls it a fault.

 • Smaller battery than it's non 5G version.

 • no headphone jack for this huge device good luck fir the back side fingerprint

 • This version 5G has MONO audio!!! Just not 5g version has 2 physical speakers (top and bottom) that allow stereo sound! Why it's written stereo sound when it's mono with only 1 speaker at the bottom??

 • No piece of tech can be waterproof, that's impossible, only water-resistant (to a certain extent). Smartphones get into contact with liquid quite often, that's the reason for ingress protection. I agree, nobody should be swimming with a smartphone.

 • Keep It Simple, Stupid (K.I.S.S. Principle) is a principle of design and organisation. 3.5mm jack is the standard for a reason. They cannot digitally-control it so they hate it not just for space-saving reasons (the SCREEN and BATTERY are hardly improved by the saving from nano-sim+no micro-sd/smaller storage card+3.5mm jack removal, are they? That's probably less than 15 cubic mm. Now look at the size of the phone. Whilst even Sony has stopped making 'compact' phones, so WTF? Oh THREE cameras? So what? Live in the moment, stop taking photos of everything like vicarious living was a good thing to share with others (healthy priorities). You know when living standards are going backwards, they will push that lying phrase 'going forward' like they were trying-out for Orwellian Newspeak Prize of the Decade! IF 'in the future' things go BACKWARDS (or merely COULD), it cannot logically be referred to as 'going forward', can it? Evidence that the powers-that-be want us to self-delude that everything's OK when it isn't. A slave-master technique. "Yessir, Massuh! We's sure going forward! Thank-you massuh!" is what they want! It is a 'tell' that someone uses this phrase, that they are so-indoctrinated, IMO. Phone and other human-interface design can reflect this general socio-political situation.

 • "IP53? WTF is that? The standard is IP68." EXACTLY. That and the proprietary card format. = Nah. • 3.5mm needed!

 • A tablet with notch, triple camera, usb-c stylus, phone features and 5g. Nice!

 • IP53? WTF is that? The standard is IP68. Watered down? Infrared camera needed (Ok, wanted!).

 • Compared to the Mi Mix 3 5G this price tag is almost outrageous as Apple and Samsung's. Thank you, but no thank you!

 • Then buy another phone.

 • Huawei Mate 20x is available in india since july2019

 • when Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) circulates in Indonesia?

 • 7.2" and 233g...arghhhh. I want a phone, not a tablet.

 • um, there's no 3.5mm jack....

 • Yh... But at least have the sense that ur fone moght accidentally fall in water. 🙄🙄

 • i care about waterproof.

 • Who cares about phones being waterproof? It's not like you're going to swim with your phone.

 • Ok

 • What is for Huawei Mate 20X 5G carrier aggregation ??

 • Phone has one feature which stops most users to not to buy it. Thats Waterproof protection in pool. At least hauwei now work on this factor. I always check first that phone is waterproof or not. Otherwise new technology just name technology not real technology.

 • Not only the battery, the also removed the 3.5 audio jack and tje speaker on top.

 • no lte band 28 = no buy

 • Why did they have to downgrade the battery? 5,000mAh is fine. Yeah I know, they had to cram in the 5G Modules, but still you could've reduced it to atleast like 4,500mAh. Look at Galaxy A70. It's 6,7 inch and has a 4,500mAh battery. Or the cheaper M20 and M30. Come on Huawei... 5G consumes a lot of battery, and for this size, they should've atleast reduced it to 4,500mAh.

 • 256gb maximum for €1000

 • where r u from?

 • Where do you see 8GB ram? I only see 256GB storage there.

 • Wow! 5G! Awesome!

 • Good Big screen, but no good for my country - no LTE band 28!!!!!!

 • xiomi phones are good for everything nd their price are very good, but they are not as good as samsung, huawei, iphone, sony, they are good phons with cheap price .

 • Really i have been using xiaomi for quite some time now...and it has not disappoint me regarding performance and camera quality.

 • This is kinda deep for a phone review though??? plus is google really important for the phone

 • they havent thou have they???

 • Yeah Redmi rubbish full of adds , spyware, go Samsung or pixel best bet right now.

 • Ermmmm pixel is the leading phone, hate Android? Well it won't be fun using a beta os for years bugs bugs .

 • Excately like windows all over again, apps dropping depressing you can call text though lol.

 • Nice specs withoit play store, pass

 • Funny you say that since the US is losing the economic warfare, on the other hand Huawei will do fine without Google inside of China but outside they will have a harder time selling devices... v-v

 • Same a de-googled phone will be interesting to try! :D

 • False this phone will probably launch with Android and security updates tough it may not get next Android, tough Google`s project jet-pack have made Android versions worthless anyway so this phone will probably be good to the point where security updates ends... v-v

 • Maybe not all, Google services will maybe not work on the device which means no google apps and certain games only can use google to backup user data... v-v

 • It's not going to have the play store so what's the point. Also facebook, snapchat, instagram, whatsapp are all US companys. They wont be on their app store most likely.

 • RIP huawei, good phone though

 • huawei's os is compatible with all android apps. So no

 • Obviously there is a reason why at the bottom of the specs there's a line which states : " We cannot guarantee that the information above is 100% accurate "

 • I am waiting to activate their new operating system and I hope there will be more upgrades and interesting things

 • I have a pre-order on this Huawei Mate 20 X 5G Version with 256GB storage 8GB RAM Link source : Are you sure it has a 126GB version ? Do you have a page to add another version? When I get the phone I could add the specs.

 • you guys dont know facts you do know that in China google is banned, they already have an OS thats basically built on top of android. All chinese phones already have this, the only reason they dont use it overseas is cause there is no need. If forced, they will just release that and localize it.

 • nope, windows phone didnt achieve 2nd place in top selling phones like Huawei, Windows phone started as windows phone, but huawei start as and android, and ends with own OS, that's one hell of an experience right ? beside, it's 5G from huawei, for the first time, im ready to see huawei adventure after this

 • Making an is based on the open source version of android is not that difficult. Huawei and all chinese brands already have their own os (the chinese version of android) they just need to change some little thing to make it suited for a global version

 • why did they not include the onscreen fingerprint

 • Huawei new os will be like a dead window phone..trust me

 • Huawei struggling more than google, ppl can download non market app but create their own system will take a decade

 • I think you can download google apps in huawei's os (with some tweaks) I'm exciting to see this new os coz I hate both android and ios I hope it comes to older huawei phones I don't want to get a new phone

 • The modem doesn't take up any more space than a 4G LTE modem. So why would the battery need to be sacrificed? There's no reason behind it. And the headphone jack didn't need to be removed. I like Huawei and all but damn that's unnecessary.

 • First if huawei was to develop their own operating system it would probably be based on open source android and thus will most likely be compatible with existing development so apps can be ran on both. As for apps that require google like maps and pay then a Huawei alternative will have to be made. Second although Samsung's, Apples and Googles market share may increase there is a strong possibility that companies like OnePlus, Oppo and other Chinese manufacturers will benefit more from this. Third Trump is no genius for blacklisting Huawei as its the obvious choice when it comes to Chinese tech companies to blacklist being the largest Chinese manufacturer of smart phones.

 • Lol, Google does not need Huawei! Huawei needs google (google services is required to run many popular apps). Google has the Pixel phones. They have no need for huawei, in fact they're better off without Huawei since the pixel phone market share would only get larger. Trump is a genius for blacklisting huawei, he knows how to hit China where it hurts.

 • You are exactly right. The whole phones size is almost the same size as Sony Xperia XA 2 Ultra.

 • Are you sure?please explain it.

 • Was really looking forward to this phone. Big screen, huge battery and they added 40W charging to this variant. This is almost perfect until US decided to kill Huawei.

 • 1000 euros for an phone...! C'mon guys, this is going weird and more weird. Firstly, phones are getting longer and more longer. Secondly, the price is growing more and more, year after year. In my opinion, all brands should be BANNNN....

 • no problem, Huawei will create its own, Google needs china/asia more than china -asia needs google, keep it up trump, u.s is now way behind . the future of tech belongs to china/asia,

 • Google pulls Huawei’s Android license, forcing it to use open source version [...]Speaking to Reuters, a Google spokesperson confirmed that “Google Play and the security protections from Google Play Protect will continue to function on existing Huawei devices.” So while existing Huawei phones around the world won’t be immediately impacted by the decision, the future of updates for those phones as well as any new phones Huawei would produce remains in question.[...] https://www.theverge.com/2019/5/19/18631558/google-huawei-android-suspension

 • I mean the law, no offense

 • So US killed Huawei huh?

 • Google Apps are the main attraction to Android, without it, Huawei will have a difficult time appealing to the general consumers. Sure, the tech savvy ones will know how to manually overcome it. But still, we need to be careful with Huawei products, it is not just the software, the hardware components that are US based will dry up from their stockpile eventually (~3 months based on news) and this is a even bigger problem.

 • They are just gonna use Open source Android without google apps (Which you can always add anyway) in their future phones. I suspect many people will actually be happy. It's ironic, they are getting hit for supposed "spying", but they could become the less-spying devices without the Google REAL/proven spyware.

 • They will survive. At least in china because their phones there does not use google services

 • Sad days to come for one of my favourite brands. Crippled by a business man turned leader of a once great nation. Now sadly a country of opportunities is now a country that's crushes opportunities for others.

 • It is not what I believe or not, this is real news happening right now. In case you are not aware, President Trump already signed the order and the effects are already taking place. The question now is actually how many more months Huawei can survive. That's why I suggest avoiding Huawei for now - but it's your money if you want to take the risk.

 • Dont buy huawei phones unless you are ok with spy

 • There's something called the cloud.

 • The 5g modem in the phone. Whenever something new and awesome comes out in a phone, there must be a part that must be sacrificed. In this case it's the modem, just like how the headphone jack needed to be sacrificed in the Mate 20 Pro and p30 pro.

 • Do you seriously believe in the US government? All they want to do is to drive Huawei out of business as they see its gonna be competition for Apple and Samsung. And so far Huawei sales have been increasing in a shrinking market nonetheless. If you exist, you will be tracked by your government and organisations. That simple.

 • 7.2 inches?? seriously... its not a phone, its a Tab. hahahahaha...

 • Why is this monster sized tablet listed as a phone? Anyhow a word of warning - better avoid buying Huawei products. With US sanctions against it, Huawei won't be around much longer - means no parts, no support in the future.

 • please does this device use or support stylus pen functionality?

 • Buy a pants with big pocket

 • Screen size doesn't matter, what matter is the dimension.

 • Well done Huawei. This phablet is a reflection on what people are using mobiles for. People who want a mobile to use primarily as a mobile, this phone is not for them, something in the 4.8" to 5" works best as you can "fit it in your shirt pocket". On the other hand, those of us who watch streamed content on their mobiles, a larger screen is what we appreciate (I don't as it happens, but I can see the advantage of a bigger screen). Further, what I would like about the larger screen is that I can more usefully use it in the car to run directions from Google Maps. Again, a big screen is a massive boon. Worries about carrying it? Easily, get a belt case/holster and then forget about it. Easy as, job done.

 • Why does it have a smaller battery...?

 • Always huawei with low internal storage, isn't worth it.

 • waiting mate 30X....

 • No it is still same battery! O3O

 • This nothing new expect 5g connectivity, screen 7.2 Like tablet, sd card only support 256gb fkn lol and people crazy about cowwei phones like never others competitive phones to beat them in first place??? This company is high weed

 • HAHAHA 5g phone but sd card support 256gb How can storage size will last lol This new tech innovate by chinese??? WORLD BIG JOKES STOCK

 • This nothing new expect 5g connectivity, screen 7.2 Like tablet, sd card only support 256gb fkn lol and people crazy about cowwei phones like never others competitive phones to beat them in first place??? This company is high weed

 • They reduced the battery to make the thickness of the phone acceptable because 5g gears requires some space in the phone so if they made the battery 5000 MAH like the original it'll have gone up to 9 mm or even 1 cm thickness and that's not acceptable for a phone or even a tablet "as some people call it"

 • I guess it is to give way for its 5G modem that's why battery should be reduce.

 • what should i do with a 7.2 inch screen , how can i put it in my pocket ??

 • its called phablet and its nothing like a tablet

 • It's called phablet

 • Why did they reduce the battery? Original was 5000mAh

 • I agree with comments saying this is a tablet that can make phone calls not a phone. Those who want a real phone to carry in a shirt pocket need to give this monster a miss.

 • Good as compact tablet, way too big for a phone

 • Lol i knew thew will downgrade the battery. How predictable. And ridiculous. More power consumption (With 5g networks) and yet, smaller battery. Another useless POS. Mate 20X, on the other hand, was brilliant...except they did't want to sell it. Pure insanity.

 • That's a good tablet

 • This very big

 • No dedicated memory card slot, no buy
