hey, I got mine bout two years now, lovely phone, only lock function is malfunctioning now, when I use it it sometimes just locks itself without me touching anything. Most times, I can't solve it by pressing the lock button and I have to press several places on the phone untill I succeed by luck. Don't like that really though, so does anyone know how to solve it?

I've been using the phone from past 1 year. Very good phone with nice design and less weight. Only con being the unavailability of 3G. the battery is superb. lasts for 5-6 days with normal operation like calls, messages bluetooth etc.

If you will use it only for making and receiving call/message then cell battery will last for continuous talk of around 10 hrs. In general battery ends in 5-6 days. In terms of batery this is superb phone.

I am from Pakistan and using this phone from couple of months. Overall phone is OK Qualities : Good picture quality on day time, good sound when using headphone, WiFi connectivity is also acceptable. Problems : Phone does not support Flash Messages (Introduced my Nokia), I am facing problem of multiple entry when writing message specially in Full Keyboard Mode, SMS Memory is very small, I am getting no SMS memory although I have 131 messages in Inbox, 103 in Outbox and 91 in My Folders. When I send a SMS of length of 2 Messages, phone forcefully confirm to Send Message(It feel bad when you know the SMS length is more then 160 Char) Connectivity with PC Studio is bad, You can not receive and send message more then 160 in length. You can not store your contact/sms in open formate so that you import in any other phone.

I think we can only use LED flash in camera not in video mode! And it's so easy... Go to Camera and there would be a option of FLASH ! Go to that option and select "on". And there you go! :)

There's is nothing 2 worry about, at first go to camera mode then on the screen on right hand top corner you will see an icon refereiing as "A" with an arrow, click on that and you will get the list to switch the FLASH option for the camera mode. I have this phone for more than 2 years. The reason I bought this was its whooping 5 megapixel camera that is rarely seen in entry-level phones. Sharp images, plus flash. The audio quality, with or without headphones, is superb too. Music quality is my number one criteria. Battery life is good. Call quality is good. Sometimes, I can't connect to the internet. Have not been using the PC connect since I first used it because it sucks. There is no software update, so performance will lag when you have music on. Fortunately for me, I don't text when I'm listening to music. hahaha. Touch is still sensitive and accurate. Although I'm getting tired of touchscreen and I'm planning to buy a simple mp3 and a BB type of phone. :)

Mostly movie format for samsung mobile is 3gp. Just convert all the video into 3gp format, than we can play it. For the converter just download the 3gp video converter from the internet. Hopely work.

No, is not cool. Ok, camera is nice, but the phone is a joke. I have one and after two months or so, the touch screen started to act strange, is not as sensitive as it used to be (even without that protective sheet), often restarts, sometimes when I dial, it says Dialing and doesn`t do anything, when screen is locked, I can hear it in my pocket doing some stuff I didn`t tell it to do and when I unlock the screen, I see it browsing the menu or the phonebook or trying to connect to a hot spot or other operations... Try to use the cable hands-free to listen to music and press the button near the microphone, the music should stop, but the phone SHOULDN`T START DIALING LAST DIALED NUMBER!

I have bought Samsung S5560. Overall its a great cell but there are two problems. One its alarm is problematic as at times the alarm doesn't work. Second, there is often a message that message memory is full even when sent box is cleared and there are even 20 messages in inbox.

The major problem for this one is the memory[Internal]...it has around 35mb of it... most of it is already used by the built in images and sounds[cannot be deleted]...the ringtones which we use is also stored in phone mem, which makes little mem available and thus slowing down the phone. And one more thing...when you transfer file through Bluetooth,they first save in phone memory...this gives us prob when we transfer multiple or big files,if the phone mem is full thus transfer gets cancelled and thus we have to keep on transferring the files to mem card to run the phone smoothly.

I have a samsung marvel and justyesterday its screen refused to respond. whenever i swith the phone on and input the simcard PIN, it boots and then locks the screen by itself and from there the screen doesnt respond at all. I have this mobile for more than 6 months,Initially i had some problems with the battery backup.then I reinstalled the software.By then, it is been awesome as per the battery life is concerned.But i have to say the touch screen sensitivity is coming down as the months roll on.Flash is very good so that of the picture quality.The music clarity is very good especially on hands free. So my suggestion will be "Dont buy Samsung Touch mobiles which has the price range < 10k.(especially this one).

I own S5560i model. Is a very good phone. Camera is excellent. Is one of the best 5MP phone cameras. Audio is loud and decent. Touchscreen works well. Is a decent phone. Battery last 3-4 days of normal use, depends on how is formatted. Has a software with something from apple something from android + smth from bada. Samsung software for pc is bulshit you cannot make a proper bakcup to calls, events or messages, only print screen them and save the images to pc.:)) You cannot put special ringtones to contacts because they copy first in 20 MB FREE INTERNAL memory of phone before set to ringtone. If you had manny applications opened ( widgets, apllications, internet etc) they crash and appears on screen: memory is full ( i supposed RAM) please closed applications and try again. Wi-fi works fine. Has only edge but works fine on internet. I recomend this phone. Is a good phone after all

Hi Disha, The actual capacity of the phone is 500 sms. you are getting the message becaue most of your messages will be actually more than one message leangth. this phose will keep only 500 sms that inculdes the sent items the drafts and the inbox. best thing to do is to backup all on your computer. using the saftware provided with the phone.

guys..if u ever think of buying this phone pls dunt do so...it has no update for its firmware...no themes download...to do the wallpaper itself it is so hard..u cant download anything anywhere...u can even customiaze ur background or menu style properly....eventhough it has wifi....it is slow...i have a hand-on experience and living with it for 4 months....first month i use it all was ok..than it started to hang...the camera is not as good for a 5mp camera....cant store a lot of messages.....battery is giving me a headache....besically its just a touch scrreen version of a normal phone......everything is slow after 1 month of using this phone...guys just dunt buy it...buy SE xperia or something better than this...

It has a lot - and I mean A LOT - of concealed faults: - plug in crappy hands-free, start music player from menu, try to stop music player pressing button on hands-free and see what happens: it dials the last dialed number! - very very very slow! If you started music player and want to do something more, forget it! - sometimes (and I get this quite often) it won't dial, despite the fact that the screen says "Dialing..." (and by-the-way, it takes way too much to end a call!); - touch screen gets a lot less sensitive in time (I own this phone for more than 3 months now and I already got sick of it); - NPS (New PC Studio) is a joke for PC connectivity, try to transfer a file by cable (or by any other means) using PC Studio: you'll fall asleep on your keyboard; works way way faster on simple bluetooth transfer; - Do you have a micro SD inside your phone that contains cool ring tones or videos you want to assign to your contacts? Then it hits you: it copies content from SD into phone memory, so forget assigning ringtones to contacts (you can do that however, but you need to keep on deleting tenths of instances of files you used before... it sucks a lot! - NO FIRMWARE UPDATE to fix the above software problems! In fact, no support from Samsung for this phone! - it has this impossible to disable fade-in ring! Well, some users DON'T WANT a fade-in ring! It should have been an option on ringing, not compulsory! - do you want to listen to some music and suddenly you see something worth taking a picture of? Press the camera button, the music will stop. Why is that? - connect the phone to pc with NPC (New PC Studio), go to messages, you'll see on some of the messages "This message is not supported. Check it on your phone". Activate the menu on the phone, go to Messages to check that unsupported message, you'll get "Unable to access Messages while PC Studio is running". So, what is PC Studio good for anyway? You cannot even listen to the radio while PC Studio is making your phone useless! DON'T BUY THIS PHONE, IS NOT WORTH IT! I bought it because it has Wi-Fi and had a good price for a phone with this feature, but is not a good deal. The design and the fact that it has Wi-Fi and touch screen might open up your pocket/wallet, but after 2 months or so, you'll be disappointed. Very disappointed. (Romania)

Its market price (from mobile markets) is around 13,200. I have purchased it last week. Its really a good mobile specially considering its price. Camera is really good. Touch screen is nice but make sure you put screen protector on it. Internet surfing is also good from opera mini and even from default browser. u can download games, software and messangers. No problem in connecting with Wifi.

Touch is good, I feel cool using it, 8/10. Camera not that much good as expected to be a 5 MP, 7/10. Software, low on customization, 6/10. Design, looks cool to me, especially from back side, 9/10. Sound is awesome on hands-free, not without it, 8/10. The bad thing which makes me feel, �Can I replace it without losing money & time?� is that it is worst on messaging. Only 500 SMS you can save, no option for message memory. You can make groups but can not select them all in one tap while sending message, select them one by one, aghhhhhh!, moreover you can not send message to more then 10 contacts (Damn! Why anyone would make a message group then?). Generally, if you are not interested in messaging, it is a good mobile on low price.

I love this phone a lot... It is one of the best phone i have ever used. the last ones included N5800,N5235,N5530,N81...all were bad to their core... All my internet settings were correct, including the router password, and I got the DNS error message also. I called Samsung. They walked me through the tools menu to do a master reset of the whole device. Now wi-fi works perfectly. Try doing that.

Dear Friends, I gifted this phone to my wife in feb 10 and also using for last 9 months. In India this model is called Samsung star superb. Good: Smooth touch panel, easy menu, good features. Bad: Very Bad camera, bad speakers, the phone gets disconnected frequently, many of the functions are not easy to use, in short, lots of features does not possess claimed quality. Conclusion: at present in 2011, many better alternates available in the market with lesser cost. Samsung projects its features very well, but practically it does not posses quality. Nobody can challenge Nokia/Sony Ericsson quality(for normal users). HP/Apple/ASUS/Blackberry/Acer/Motorola/Dell are still not for masses in India.

I have a very mixed opinion on this fone. The camera is simply superb and the screen also is pretty good for this price range. The presence of an audio jack is an important feature as well. Not really a fan of wi-fi but for some people it's very important so I guess that's a key feature as well. The phone has amazing features for it's price but the problem is that it's just too damn slow, it really takes so much fun out of it. The other huge problem with the phone is that the message memory is only 500 which includes inbox, sent msgs, drafts and saved messages. I can understand the phone being slow since it's cheap but it's certainly not cheap enough to warrant being so bad for messaging. The phone also resets many settings when you connect it to a PC and then does not revert back, you have to manually change quite a few settings that the phone puts to default, can be quite annoying if you frequently connect it to a PC. I would recommend SMS freaks to stay clear of this phone and overall I would recommend people to not buy this phone and cheap touch phones in general, you really need fast processing to make the touch experience smooth and responsive.

good phone .... i bought it 7 months back. i was a best decision i made . it have almost all the stuff that a person want to have and that at a 10k(old price).... 5 mega pixl cam with flash (nice work done by samsung) touch wiz 2.0 is better for resistive screens. so another +ve point.. 3.5 mm standard jack. can connect where ever u want . google maps is fine. evrythng is perfect. even the browsing experience is cool. getting so much at an affordable price is an treat for me . i have a limited pocket and cant afford to spend big on cell phones. but now when i see i find more new mobiles carrying such features.. but yeah if had to buy now thr is so much choice in the market. technology moving like super sonic. will be changing my s5560 in few months may be 5 to 6 .. and will look for an another set that can fit acc. to my pocket yet with features i want. good phone ... yeh sum cool applications (java).. it supports. . im loving my s5560 marvel. no themes that i dislike.. but yeah overall fine

I like this phone.I own one. But the one thing Im concerned about is the LED flash. Its very painful in the eyes when you shot at faces. Also I dont like the messaging memory. You cant use memory card as a storage for the sms. You rely on the phone's internal memory. Also, I dont like that there is no copy paste feature on it. You cant copy paste text like the ones in Nokia. I also dont like the built in explorer because there is no minimize feature for it. Well thats it.If these things doesnt disturb you. I own one for 2 mos now, I've not much complain but its just that whenever im using the camera and I accidentally pressed the lock key (which is really often because you have to hold the phone horizontally), you cannot do anything anymore with the phone. You have an option to just remove the battery to restart it or wait until it auto locks. Its just frustrating considering it has 5mp camera which i often use. how can I solve this?

U can press # (hash key) in d keypad, it changes d fone profile to 'silent' n press hash key again to put d normal profile.

this phone doesn't have multi-tasking but by pressing lock key it can be used up to sum extent. face book,orkut,yahoo works perfectly. cam is 5 pixl. very nice though.. sound quality is fine will not disappoint you. no themes but 3 screen wallpaper is cool. can create our own. dictionary is very handy. plus point is 3.5 mm jack it can connect to my car. WiFi took me little time to configure it with WEP. The phone in summary is very good and looks cool too in white color. A easy to carry with, BEST phone in this price. Here is my experience with it ... - Youtube don't work, nor any other flash ! - Its hard to switch between the applications, even with the lock button functionality. There must be some other method ! - Heavy sites (more contents, like games) sometimes crashes or hangs the built in browser. (may be due to lack of memory available) - Very few audio and video formats supported. - No good support for Office documents, also the interface to read any document (including PDF) is very clumsy (not easy to use). - Games are not good, except the bubble one. --- - Facebook (without videos), gmail, yahoomail, hotmail, etc all works without issue. - I have also used SSL VPN from this phone which worked perfectly fine. - Java support is fine. I wonder how can I use some VoIP software using its WiFi as a carrier to talk via internet. Can someone point a URL where I can find its firmware updates ??? Thank you.

carlos it has been said in few sites that the qwerty screen of the marvel requires hard press for characters and for spacebar. well in my phone i have to press the alphabets hard. but i havent faced problem like you are facing that it get typed 4 to 5 times. you might be pressing it hard again and again unknowingly.. but i dont think that kind of problem should arrive. beacuse you are nt pressing physical keys. in your case thr should be problem with your screen as well. but if every thing is working fine apart from messaging then you should work it out on your typing skill. THATH'S ALL.....

if camera is your main concern then marvel is best option. touch response is good dont knw why ppl are saying negative abt it. it is gud as compared to nokia 5800. if compared to MONTE MONTE HAS 3G MARVEL DOESNT. MONTE HAS CAPACITIVE SCREEN. APART FROM THESE I DONT THINK monte CAN BEAT marvel. with marvel the browsing is excellent. no problem in that. if u click an icon it doesnt take much time the response is very fast.

cam in dim light is fine. still you cant expect it to perform very well.the flash will be useful to certain distance like 4 to 5 feet approx.. in that range flash enabled photos will be clear. sound is same like any other stereo phone. you wont get disappointed. recording is not up to the mark.it is 15 fps. durability depends upon person to person. how u use your phone. they are touchscreen phones. as u know they are always sensitive. a ph can get damaged even by a single fall or in some case it might not even get affect. so it depends upon the person handling it.

All those who wish to use the Samsung 5560 instroduced in India as Samsung superb at approx Rs.10,000/- with Bill n warranty. This is the first ever product I bought with bill n warranty for gift to my wife. I used the phone for about 6 months. It has very good touch screen. Reception quiality is bad. Sound quality is bad. Camera Video is OK. Camera picture quality is just as good as 2MP quality of ordinary phone camera. We cann't play FLV/WMV files. All other features are just average. I will never buy Samsung products further and also never advice anyone to go for Samsung. Nokia 5230/33 series is much better that 5MP samsung series and SE is the best comparing sound n camera quality. In short if money is the problem, Go for Nokia. Money is not problem, Go for SE. Anybody Going for Samsung, please go without expectations and have atleast one hands on look before buying the same. Good Wishes!

The WiFi connectivity is not transparent and easy for a novice user. It seems to be a bug in configuring /setting up WiFi with a WEP key. After trying various permutations and combination I was able to make it work in 2 hours. Anyway ! My overall experience is good, it doesn't support Youtube out of the box (not at all at the moment), and support for flash is also missing. However the document viewer (XLS, DOC, etc) bundled is completely useless, one have to spend lots of time in magnifying and scrolling here and there while using the document viewer. Facebook, gmail, yahoo, mail, etc works perfect with the built in browser. I would not recommend it for persons who do most of the things with their phone, obviously there are alternatives. Camera is not that good as in various reviews available on internet. I am disappointed. In summary, its cool looking phone with nice basic features and most importantly, the voice quality is very good, which I was not expecting. I have this phone in "Chic White" color.

are if the mike or speaker has came in contact with water then this might happen, better let the ceell dry cmpltly, remove the battery memory card and if u have a hair dryer just make use of it if it works then f9 othrwse then the mike and speaker both are failed due to water and do not charge it till time u carry out this procedure

When I use a picture from my micro SD as a wallpaper or as a contact photo, the pictures saves on my phone memory and of course eat a space on my very small 78MB phone memory, what if I want to put a picture on all of my 200 friends? Same as assigning a ringing tone and and alarm tone, it also eats my phone memory. Now how can I install my favorite game and apps? Does all samsung phone operates like this? I have had this phone for about a 2months now and its great! Not to big its fast and the touch scream is great. The picture quailty it great and snaps really clear and bright pictures! u guys can use smart unlock features for multitasking.."application launch" is the short cut to particular apps.. for example..u have set "M" for messages..so when i surf the Internet on marvel and if new message comes..i juz lock my cell..write "M" on the screen..n i get into the message menu..and if I'm checking my call log and want to change current song playing then will lock it and den will unlock it with specified character assigned to music. After changing the song if i will press back button . it will directly take me to the call log. I know only this much.. if any 1 have more information then can plaese share

SAMSUNG CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO BAD!! I had a problem with my phone (which could potentially cost you money). My problem - the widgets connected to the internet automatically without giving you a warning sign first to let you know charges may be incurred.I emailed them and found that my email ended up in Singapore. I then phoned them and spoke to a lady in either india or nigeria I think. I waited 6 minutes in a queue and then I spoke to a lady who said you could not get the warning back on and tried to insinuate that the internet only connects on demand. I then asked her why a few times because she basically could not give me an answer and after a few minutes - the customer service advisor - HUNG UP!! My sister has a Nokia phone and apparently their service is so much better. I will never buy a Samsung mobile again. Oh and also, the lady was wrong. There is a way to get an INTERNET CONNECTION WARNING to stop widgets from automatically connecting to the internet(which is mainly why I am writing this post to let you know) > Menu > settings > display and light > widget > settings > network settings > network access OFF!!! So much for you cant do it eh!!

nokia 5800. -it a nokia phone so it have symbian. which mean you can install all kind of mobile softwares. no problem in that. it has ovi in upgraded version. -3.2 mega pixl camera is poor. camera is not upto the mark. -it as gprs. very good -but it is almost 2 years old. -3g and wifi -resistive screen but poor. samsung s5560 -5 mega pixel camera superb -it has google maps -customize home screen 3 page default screen. something new. -wifi . good connectivity - no 3g. depends on personal opinion. if u really wana make it use.but a new technology. - resistive screen is much better than 5800

Just got this phone for £100 on o2. Pretty good so far i'm very impressed by the wifi capabilities and battery life. The camera is ok but its not great as pictures do come out a bit grainy sometimes the sound on videos or music is great though. Overall not a bad phone for the price.

For Answering delay seconds, May be try this Setting --> application setting --> AllCall --> Answering mode --> Automatic --> 1 second But not tested. I think its for connected headset. try till u succeed.

yaa both d phones are nice. marvel-5 mega pixl camera + flash + autofocus + 78 mb. . monte-3 mega pixl - no flash - no autofocus +200 mb. . thr. is an difference in internal memory. but thats ok. wont affect much as marvel can support 16 gb card. im having marvel with 8 gb... working perfectly. both the phones have message issue that is they both wont store messages more than 250 to 300. but company says they are capable of storing till 500. so memory should not be an issue. GO for marvel...

Hi maggie, 1) d company says d sms capacity is 500 but d inbox gets only 100-130 in my phone, der is alloted space for inbox 200, sent items 200, saved items/drafts 100(approx figures). 2) Yes, u get delivery report as msg. 3) no smileys, but nt a big deal. d fone is nice but still u check samsung monte before buying dis fone.

Hi, ya evn m facing dis problem bt sumtym, nt so much tym, jst 2-3 secs, i think its coz of virus, u can try 2 things, either u format ur fone n memory card or u scan it wit virus scan. it may help u otherwise it may nt hav any other reason i think so.

My Samsung S5560 takes around 3-4 seconds time to recieve th call after I click the reciever button, till that it keep on ring. People around me thinking that I am watching the mobile while it is ringing due its delay. yaa that's a kind of problem faced by some users. it sometimes call the first number in the list (ALL). IF YOU PRESS THE CALLING BUTTON.. the first number sometimes get connected. i was also facing this problem but i used to face it once in a week. and i use my headphones daily. I decided to DELETE all my call log numbers. since then haven't faced this kind of problem. YOU can try this. it will work.

Hi, first thing, u shud hav 3 different walpaprs of reso. 240x400(u can get it 4m zedge) den open 1 walpr in paint(keep it as it is), dn open 2nd walpr in paint, pres cntrl+a den copy, den goto d 1st paint n paste it there n drag d 2nd file exactly beside d 1st file(save it), dn do d same for d 3 walpr(open it in pain, copy it n paste it in 1st paint beside d 2 walprs) nw adjust d white paper size by clicking at it corner n make it exactly of d 3 walpapers nw save d file, nw u wil hav 3 walpaprs joined, nw set it as walpapr, like dis u hav 3 differnt walpapers 4 each screen, i hav many sch joind walpaprs. dis is wat hw i do, tho it seems a lengthy proces bt it not, its vry short n simple, try it.

@ ashok. bro if you are not concerned with 3g .. then i must say that you should go for this phone samsung marvel s5560. in terms of camera it is superb. it has 5 megapixel + autofocus + smile detection + face detection + blink detection. the camera is very cool loaded with such features. at this range 10k you cant ask for more.it is heavily loaded. sound quality is similar to monte. if you play song of original bits i mean without compressing them then they will sound very clear through speakers. the max. volume is 14 & at this the sound is very good. even through headphones the sound is superb. you can also plug in your favourite 3.5mm jack h.phones. i will suggest you to buy this 1.

I got the phone on June 2010. When I opened the speaker, I unable to send my voice. I am able to hear but, other party are not receiving my voice. It is waste taking.. No need of wasteing that much amount for these type of defects coming from the company with out proper testing. Even in service center the took 10 days of time, still they are asking for few more days to receive the part from company.

m a user of dis fone, i didnt found any sch system in dis fone, so there's not any sch system like equitte pause.

Using the feauter, if the phone is supposed to ring and vibrate putting it face down it will only vibrate, if it's on vibrate only settings it will keep vibrate once putted face down, and if it's on ring only settings it will turn on mute, then I think that the etiquette feature work only on audio, but since it doesn't touch the sound profile I think that would be easy for Samsung to add a setting that let the user select if vibrate or not, maybe in a future release...anyone know if it's possible to send advide to Samsung?

"etiquette pause" means that if a call is coming and u want to make it silent... then by tilting the phone u can make it silent. gsm and other sites are saying that marvel contain this feature but dont know where the settings are.?

There is no such option in marvel... but you can avoid unwanted Calls by adding any number to reject list.

the videos that you will save through the pc studio will be saved directly in the phone memory. so you have to keep your phone memory available (upto 15 to 20 MB).. depending upon the type of video you will save in marvel. in your case phone memory is not enough.. THERE IS no option in this phone .. of saving it dirctly in memory card as far as i have gone through..

hey guyz.. finally got my hands on samsung star superb(marvel s5560) as i t is know in India. a very good yet trendy phone that what i think so. even little different features add up to the excitement when you start exploring the Samsung marvel s5560. im the user of nokia phones..but decided to buy my first touchscreen phone and that of samsung. i think i took the correct decision. touch interface was way better as compared to that resistive of nokia 5800.. simply moving your hands brings the desired result's.. the camera i found is pretty much decent.your getting 5 mega pixel camera at 10k.. what else can you demand. Although it's not Carl zeiss but it's picture quality are satisfying. flash works good.but if you expect it to work like that of big video cameras then it's not justified. flash is good in night for capturing close images up to 5 feet. audio sound through the speaker is what i didn't expected.i personally feel the sound you get is better at max level of (14). headphones that you get are superb.sounds great. each picture that you will click will eat memory between 1 to 2 MB. if you transfer songs or pictures through blue tooth from your friend fone then they will get stored in phone memory by default. you have to move them to memory card. i think this problem is also with samsung monte or corby series fones.. i guess... body of the phone is solid.. back cover doesnt allow finger prints to adjust easily on it. 3 page menu screen and 3 page main screen is very attractive.. few nokia phones doesnt have i guess including 5800.. but i heard about firmware update that nokia fones will get.. but for me it's a nice feature to have. gesture lock , fake call , smart lock are some of the features that are fun to have. there is 3 way of text input qwerty , t9 view , hand writing recog.. I THINK for a first timer this phone is fully loaded with good features and price is decent that is Rs.10,400(that what i paid).. I AM NOT COMPARING THIS PHONE WITH ANY OTHER BRAND. i am just giving my reviews. although other models might be having same features or more or less features.. BUT i am not concerned.. i got what i want and i shared my thoughts with you. may write again after scanning this s5560.. deeply. till then I'm Harry from delhi signing off.. *PEACE*

(capacitive).. but its k, keeping the price factor in mind... its got goodies like.... wifi... 5mp.. with auto focus.. user friendly.. may take a day to get used to the phone for some... surely worth the price.. go for it if u are looking at this price range... (around 200 - 220 us dollars.) :)

Hi disha In my mobile 300 msgs are there . and still i am not getting any problem . Now you do two things hope it will work . 1- click on messgae icon then memory status and see ur text message status . By default this mobile will show you multimedia message status so you have to change for text message . 2- What ever things u download from internet or bluetooth it get saved in Phone memory ,ur all wallpapers and ringtones who are saved in Memory card if u have used once also by default it get saved again in phone memory . Now u click on my files .On above u will find ALL buttons change it to PHONE ,now delete every wallpapers sound clips ,ringtones ,images videos from there . I think it should do work . After that click on setting go to memory setting then click on default memory and change ur bluetooth ,camera voice recorder and everything to Memory card .

Save the wallpaper in Phone memory then go to setting button and display and light after that wallpaper and then u can choose ur saved wallpaper .It will work . If not then u have to click on my files then go to ur saved wallpaper in memory card . Now after that u have to crop the wallpaper by clicking lower part of screen it will reduce the photo size and make ur wallpaper size equal to rectangle crop size and set AS A wallpaper . These are the two option first one is easy

Hey hi disha, evn m a user of dis phone n i faced d sme problm, deleting msgs is realy a big headache, d solution is - if ur phone is in warranty period, go to d samsung service centre, show d bill of ur phone n tel dem to increase ur ph msg memory, its free of cost, no need to pay anythng, it'l increase ur msg memory to some extent, sure it'l help u, incase u dnt hav bil, u hav to pay jst rs. 120 which is nt a big deal. try it n plz let me knw.

Hi Frndz, I had taken this phone 4 mnts back, at tht time Monte was nt launched. I liked monte cz it suits on girls as it is more designer.. Nyways, I m facn a prob frm a lng time.. I have 142 msgs stored in ma Inbox and still it shows memory full delete some data, there r absolutely no msgs in ma outbox, sent or drafts. There are only 15 msgs in my folders... My phone memory also is empty cz ive deleted all tht was stored in phne... I was first disappointed seeing here that it supports 500 messages. but now i m more cz i cnt have ny solutn for ma problem, and i sorted my msgs by size also, all are 150 to 160b..Multimedia is also blank. In message memory it is showing me as 157/500 bt why is it nt takn more messages. Ill actually be xtremly grateful if some1 helps me out in this cz dnt like deleting imp msgs everyday. the video you make is pretty much clear in outdoor.. in fact the colours are bright but not over saturated.. it records at 15 fps.. which is low for an 5 mega pixel camera. but the still pictures are good.they are very much satisfying.

my dear friend it's you whose saying that camera may not be the prime concern.. are you saying on behalf of all the people. you wont be carrying your DIGITAL CAMERA wherever you go. and there is also big difference between fixed focus and auto focus. brother i would also like to point 1 thing that Monte doesn't have flash.. a biggest negative point. 3G. while some people surf net regularly from ther. mobile whilesome just want to have that feature in ther. set..but they might not use it. they might prefer using net from ther. computer. well 3G is an advanced technology.. but it is of no use for those who doesn't want to use it. 3G Services include wide-area wireless voice telephone, video calls, and wireless data, all in a mobile environment. it is also costly in some countries.. IN the end handwriting recognition is an feature that is fun to have.. although it might not have any prime use. QWERTY is also an feature that MONTE lacks. . WELL i must say both the phones have there own PROS & CONS.. and you are the better judge because in the end it's you who have to USE the phone

there is no way that you can store messages in memory card. they get stored in Sim. total messages capacity is around 500 to 600(which Include inbox+sent items+outbox+draft..etc)

hey i was amazed with this phone..when i accompanied my friend when he was buying this phone. this phone is super packed for those who cant shell out money beyond 10,000 range. i mean it got everything in it. * a 5 mega pixel cam-flash-auto focus-smile detection. * qwerty keyboard and handwriting recognition s/w. * the touch interface is so cool.. a touch of finger will bring the result unlike the nokia 5800 touch interface which require double tapping. * 1 finger zooming is an nice feature. Enable wi-fi but do not perform search at the moment 3. Now open the browser and select settings then browser profiles press search for wi-fi. 4. Select the connection that you want to connect to then type the details and match the settings on the router. 5. Auth type = WPA, encryption = TKIP, network key = router pre-shared key, protocol = HTTP, Home URL = address of modem (you can change it later if everything is already working), leave proxy blank, linger = default, adhoc = off, no need to do advance settings. 6. Save the settings and do not connect yet. 7. Exit the browser and go to Wi-Fi and select the connection that you have just configured and select details. 8. Check all the settings if ok. if the channel is different with the router, adjust it on the router to match the one used by the phone. IP address = not connected (it will automatically connect once you browse the internet). 9. Now, try to browse the internet but you must set first the connection you've just configured as default connection. Hope this helps Let me know if it works for u

the APN (WiFi) network you are trying to connect is password protected (Network Key). You need to fill that up..no need to fill up the IP..the key can be attained from the network administrator or from where that WiFi is located.

of course it does..as long as you are connected to a WiFi, it can play videos from any site like youtube.but for other sites like facebook or twitter, even using just GPRS connection, you can connect. @gr8guy, i dont think this has a stylus, and i dont think you really need one for this phone.

hi marie, you can turn off the sound by first go go camera mode. then touch settings (the gear at the lower left part of the screen), then touch settings again (upper right corner of the screen). you have shutter sound choices and then touch one setting that is OFF.

I had that same problem. The way I resolved it was: 1.- Launch the browser. 2.- Go to "settings". 3.- Select "Browser profiles". 4.- Add (or make sure) the wi-fi network you want is there and selected. 5.- Turn on the wi-fi. 6.- I had to powerdown my phone. After poweron, I could browse with no problems. Hope this works with you also.

I have also been searching so long for that, although I could not find the solution yet to the :Invalid format" error, the solution for "No memory available" is this: -Install all the games you want first. -On the main menu, open the admin settings *#5239870*# for Admin Settings *#7092463*# for Internals Master Key -go to Storage Settings -update Java DB twice. -exit and try again the game. 3. A guy from Samsung emailed me this link (http://kartikgajetech.blogspot.com/2009/11/how-­to-install-theme-in-samsung-star-3g.html) to change the theme, but I have not tried it yet because my phone is still under warranty, do not want to mess things up :-) Hope this helps.

Have purchased this Samsung Star Superb (S5560) from UniverCell, Bangalore at 10,850 Rs. I did enough research and had made up my mind for Nokia 5530. After going to shop, I looked at this model which had similar features as 5530. So I had two options. Finally I chose Samsung model due to following distinct features: 1) 5 MP camera with LED, so we can take pretty good snaps in dark. 2) Dictionary, Fake Calls, Handwriting recognition and many more fancy features. 3) Wifi � Good Internat speed. I have started using it more often instead of my laptop for chatting and quick mail check. 4) FM Radio with Recording facility � Very unique feature as it is not supported anywhere I guess. You can record anything playing on Radio. 5) Good English Vocabulary. 6) Battery is decent. 7) Sound Quality � Not that loud but appears decent enough. 8) Fake Calls � You can make an incoming calls to your mobile. This is much needed when you are stuck in some unwanted meetings and pray God to rescue from it. 9) Google Maps � Too Good and very fast with Wifi. I could locate my home and get directions anywhere I wish to go. It has landscape mode only for several applications but I heard that in 5530 everything becomes landscape as soon as it is held that way. Not sure though. Still exploring other features�� I don�t know if it was better decision over 5530 but with this handset in hand, I found it very great and feel value for Money. Have seen iPhone with some of friends and could see that all that features are easily available in this model.

this is for all those S5560 users who wants to keep a very good wallpaper or theme to their cell, do this- 1) first download pics of your chice(cars/actors) having pixels 240*400. 2) now go to paint, minimize the white screen to size 720*400 with the mouse. 3) now click on "SELECT" button from toolbars options on left hand side. 4) place the cursor on the screen and right click and select "paste from" then select those file which you have already downloaded. 5)the pic will appear, do this procedure 2 times more the place those pics side by side, so that 3 pics will be placed in a line. 6) now save it in jpeg format and copy in your cell phone, then apply it as wallpaper. 7)you will get three picture all different and 1 pic will be seen at a time.

I own a Blackberry and was interested in buying this for me in black and a white one for my gf. This mainly is because I like the design and how affordable it is. My SIM is prepaid so I can activate any internet service I want at any time so data plans don't matter to me. My main questions are: 1- do you get html push email? Like from hotmail or yahoo? If so, how good is it and how many accounts can I have on it? 2- apps. Are the Facebook and Twitter widgets fully usable apps or shortcuts to the mobile sites? And what about IM clients. I know of eBuddy but does this support it and apps like Bolt Browser or Opera Mini? 3- can this multitask like SE phones? Basic app switcher stuff. That's about it. Hope to get your opinions soon! oh i see. that's kinda limited considering that my SE p990 can store 1000+ messages which compose all folders. For example if samsung marvel reaches nearly 500 messages, will it become slower?

this is a really good phone for its price. the good: -camera. it's really good compared to others out there. not the best indoors or in poor lighting conditions but that is to be expected. -touchwiz. very easy to use. the screen is resistive, yes, but the interface is very finger friendly. no stylus included probably because it's not necessary. -size. it's quite thin and light, but because the back is a matte finish, it doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. -text input. the qwerty landscape keypad is really easy to get used to and the alphanumeric portrait keypad is very responsive. -3.5mm headphone jack. i can connect my decent headphones for decent sound quality. -wifi. the internet browser is good. wifi internet browsing and a good 5mp camera w/ flash at this price point makes this a winner. the bad: -camera placement. it makes it very easy to touch the camera lens when typing qwerty. i wish it were placed nearer to the edges instead of the center. -non-smartphone. actually i was choosing between this and the slightly more expensive i5700 galaxy spica, which runs android. i chose this because of better cam. i'd choose the marvel over any symbian touchscreen phone right now, though. -background music player. when music is playing in the background, the phone becomes noticeably slower, even if i'm just trying to type a text message. -limited themes. i wish it had more themes available, maybe for download. -no microSD card included. surprisingly, it includes the microUSB cable here in the Philippines. microSD cards are really cheap now, though. i bought an 8GB SDHC and it works great. it's a really good featurephone, which unfortunately doesn't make it a smartphone. if wifi and a good camera are all you really need though, you'll be contented with this. design: 9 features: 8 performance: 8

I bought this phone about a month ago, so far the only issues that I have would be typing the text messages. I always use the full qwerty on screen keyboard since I find it a bit difficult to use the multi touch on screen keypad. The problem I see is that the letters are a bit small that's why most of the time I end up pressing another one instead. I also find the browser a bit sluggish and connecting to a WiFi network takes sometime. Though the thing I like about this phone is the camera since it's better than most of the touch sensitive phones in the market.

Set one more DHCP user in you router, and after it do this in your phone: WiFi: Menu => Settings => Network settings => Connections. Create a new one. Enter a name and below it choose WiFi. SSID = the wifi name you want to connect to, or search one. Below choose WPA2 then TKIP. Enter the password if the wifi locked. HTTP protokol. That's all. It's works fine for me.

I have bought this phone and I must say that I am extremly happy with the handset. Lovely feel with a beautiful screen. The battery is excelent. Even with very heavy use of wifi it managed two days. Only drawback for this phone is the 15fps QVA video playback quality. It can take perfect pictures though. I paid £130+£10 top-up... So far.. Well worth the money!

Hi!!!! To all my dear brothers and sisters out there. I have a solution for you if you are willing to install third party applications into your samsung marvel. First you need to browse the website where the .JAR file of the application you want to install in your phone is available for download through your phones browser using Wi-Fi or GPRS feature. Then simply click on the download option on that web page, you can observe that the application will be automatically installed in your phone. I came to know this from my brother who is using samsung star. He has installed tea shark browser and some games in his phone through the GPRS. You too can do some research on it and see for yourself. Hope someone among you may definitely follow my instructions mentioned above. i have this over a week. its good but have some queries - 1. sms gets stored in sim card 1st, its annoying 2. am still unsure of its sound quality through speakers, its very low i suppose n lacks bass 3. continous shooting mode doesnt take 9 photos, instead takes only 2 or 3 4. the widgets cant be locked as in lg phs, so u will hav to be careful not to move it 5. press *#0*# and then option 7 doesnt light the torch continously as in jet 6. in 'my files' sthumbdb.tdb gets displayed and in the memory card of 'my files' memory status is missing 7. only 10 ppl can be sent sms at once and it doesnt minimize, so u cant do anything while sending sms 8. a few more theames could be have been good 9. there is no application manager so u wont know what application is running in background

bought this Samsung S5560 phone 4 days ago (Gifted to my Wife) For camera, sound and touch screen technology - Congratulations. 5 MP camera is not up to the mark - The camera is the best that i have seen in this class, i mean really good. Result is like an ordinary mobile phone camera. When you say ordinary phone which phone are you referring to? Flash is very bad, LED flash is really good takes better pics even in night. One should not expect quality like dedicated Digital Camera from Mobile phone. Yeah i agree with you, coz digital camera is made to take pics..where as this is a phone with built in camera, however i disagree with you for the camera clarity and quality SE cybershot series or Nokia N series is better for Camera. Not all the Nokia N series camera's are better. As far as SE is not concerned i have heard its better but i have never used it so cannot comment on that Sound is ordinary - only in though phone speakers, i meant to say it is not loud enough but its got the clarity. also with earplugs - I disagree the sound thru ear phones are amazing, the best ear phones i mean ear phone quality is good. Just like Nokia Phones - no comments. Music Lovers should not try any phone other than SE Walkman series. W810i - Crystal clear sound - Guaranteed. I don't understand why SE discontinued that quality model. Touch screen and other features of S5560 are very good. Nobody can beat within the price range - Well said...the touch sensitivity is really good, and even the price range is extremeley good. No issue about reception quality. Very Good - I agree Not tested on Wi-Fi - Same here never tested on WI FI. Still, lot of scope for improvement - I agree lot of features can be added and the existing one can be improved to perform much better. Overall its good touch screen instrument power packed with lots of features for 10K INR to start with. Value for Money. My comments. Video streaming is pretty neat, Buffers very quickly, but slighlty lags in play back. But it depends on your network signal strength. P.S.: Dont try to stream videos from youtube thru GPRS or EDGE, coz it will cost a lot. I paid 70 INR/= for a 8 min clip. Has a time delay when u want to a answer a incoming call, you press the answer button and after 3 or 5 secs it gets connected. Phone's Vibration mode is strong enough to wake u up from sleep ...lol!!!

dude m using dis phone n hav also used d wi-fi, it works properly n dat yo wit gud speed, jst chck weathr d wi-fi u r using is unsecured or not if its secured n is showin a lock sign whn u turn d wi-fi on den it wil nt wrk, eithr it shud b unsecured or u shud knw d passwrd.

Call Quality is Okay. Not Excellent. Samsung gives stylus but its with seperate, not inbuild with phone. you can't take away every time.

This Phone works gr8 on Lock. But take care of Smart Unlock on Speed dial. Use Structural Character for Contact adding speed dial. Using I L may lead to dial auto on lock mode. Thanks

Yes you can use MP3 for message tone. goto Phone Profiles --> Normal --> Change --> Click "New Message" Popup Menu at top --> Click Message alert tone --> Click Sounds --> Add Mp3 That's all. Not tested on WAV but may be it works Thanks

I bought this Samsung S5560 phone 4 days ago (Gifted to my Wife) - For camera, sound and touch screen technology. 5 MP camera is not up to the mark. Result is like an ordinary mobile phone camera. Flash is very bad. One should not expect quality like dedicated Digital Camera from Mobile phone. SE cybershot series or Nokia N series is better for Camera. Sound is ordinary, also with earplugs. ppl Have run into another wall here. when i set any ringtone to a contact or a picture to a contact , a copy of the file is automatically created in the phone memory , thus reducing the space left in the phone internal memory ... am i doing something wrong or is this the way this phone works? if thats the case , then all the other good features go to waste , also you cannot access the phone file manager while the stupid pc suite is running this is what i have found so far....:( will keep updating Roger
