Huawei P20 Pro - User Reviews

  • No, it is not worth it

  • ive got an xr and contemplating switching, do you reckon its worth it??

  • Better than iphone XR . I use both. but half price to iphone. Works like a dream.

  • For gaming one+6 is a bit better But for photography ofc its the p20 pro

  • Got it this morning !

  • Has anyone received the September security patch yet??

  • Don't buy Mi9 Battery performance is only normal Camera is not on par with P20pro P20pro camera performance is better than Mi9 P20pro camera rating in Dcomark is 109 points Audio system in P20pro is Dolby There is non moon shot mode in M9 Mi9 display is Amoled but P20pro display is way better Amoled display than Mi9 Kirin 970 is very efficient How dare you tell Mi9 is better than Huawei p20pro Night mode , Leica Lens are main selling point of P20pro I wanna ask you What Mi9's main selling point Only SD855 That is nonsense

  • Hah, just upgraded from S7 to P20Pro. I like it. The camera is very good. Performance is also very good, no lags etc. I bought it for 409 EUR. For this price I can only recommend the P20Pro. By the way, the MIUI is not irritating in comparison with Samsung's UI.

  • Hi, is Huawei P20 Pro still worth now? want to upgrade from Samsung Galaxy S7

  • Don't know much about phones so just want to know can I use my sim card out of my p8 lite 2017 in the p20 pro thank u

  • Between the Huawei P20 Pro and a OnePlus 6T which do you guys think has a more versatile, more functional, more better front & selfie cameras?

  • Dolby Atmos is always-on in speaker mode and once you plug in headphone you will have an option to switch it off. Video quality as compared to S9+ is less detailed, and OIS doesn't exist in 4K mode, also no 4K 60fps. With regards to S9, I think it will also get it sometime in 2020 only.

  • RE the audio...is the Dolby Atmos feature turned on automatically (or turned on manually) when listening via speakers or headphones? (like the Galaxy S9+)? When you mean the video is not on par with the S9+ what do you exactly mean? In what way or what aspects? I heard one or both of the cameras has no wide angle lens like the Galaxy S9+? March 2020 for Android 10 is still a long way off. That is approx 7 months since it arrived on Pixel devices. (I'm not gonna ask/discuss about why it takes too long as i think we all know why)

  • 1- March 2020 2- It supports Dolby Atmos 3- Yes, Stereo output with earpiece 4- Yes, a lot of camera updates have come, however video quality is not on par with S9+ but not that bad. Night mode is already very good. Beauty mode can be turned off but I feel that it still beautifies a little but it happens with rear camera's portrait mode and selfie camera. Stabilization is excellent in 1080p videos, but in 4K it doesn't exist at all. 5- It doesn't support CameraAPI hence Google Camera app cannot be used to the fullest. 6- It has Easy Projection, you can either cast the screen to a Smart TV or open EMUI desktop mode as-well which is excellent 7- I never come across such swipe bug 8- Not sure, I will come back to answer 9- Yes you can uninstall almost all 1st party app, or at least disable them 10- Dark mode is present but not working with some 3rd party apps I am using P20 Pro for almost a year now and am very much satisfied with it. Still snappy, and excellent battery life. Camera still comparable to current date flagships. I hope this will help you decide.

  • I'm very much interested in purchasing this phone after being adequately impressed with my Mediapad M5 Lite tablet. But I have some questions: 1 Approximately what month will the EMUI 10 (based on Android 10) will be pushed to the devices? 2 Does it support Dolby Atmos? If yes is the feature turned on automatically when listening via speakers or headphones? (like my Galaxy S9+)? 3 Does the speakers output stereo? If yes does it come out off the bottom and via the earpiece? (like S9+) 4 Has there been any updates to the cameras (front & rear) recently? If Yes does it actually improves stabilisation, improves contrast/dynamic range/sharpness, corrects barrel distortion and the "jello" effect", improves low light photos, ability to turn off the beauty mode? (most common complaints) 5 Does it support CameraAPI? (so we can install the Google Cam apk) 6 How can i cast the screen to my TV via the Chromecast? DO i need to install a 3rd-party app? 7 I heard a bug on EMUI 9.0/9.1 that you are unable to swipe away notifications for some reason? IS so then has the bug been patched? 8 What bitrate does it record in audio when taking a video? 9 Can i uninstall or disable most Huawei 1st-party apps now? (as it can be distracting/annoying) 10 IS there a native dark mode now (like the S9+) or is it still coming to EMUI 10? Thank you.

  • But is the Mi9 IP-rated or splash resistant though?

  • If you turn off this functions pics can be natural?!

  • Yeah, why not?

  • Is it worth buying this mobile phone bc I need for good quality photos, thank you.

  • Good opinion, I will buy one, BUT: 1. MIUI and EMUI are very simillar 2. Not really the fastest but it is very fast... Oh well 3. 4000mAh vs 3300mAh... 4. USB 2.0 vs USB 3.1... ... Oh well, I'll buy a Mi 9. Thank you!

  • Mi 9. 1. Better processer (one of the fastest, if not the fastest phone out there. Even faster than P30 Pro or S10 Plus). 2. Better camera (Has ultra wide camera which P20 Pro doesn't have, you can put gcam on it and it has 48mp with closed loop motor replacing the OIS) 3. Better battery (Snapdragon 855 is more efficient than P20 Pro's Kirin 970 and Miui is very optimised, you can check battery tests of Mi 9 on YouTube. 4. More features (Supports 27W Charging, 20W Wireless Charging, Fast In display Fingerprint) 5. Newer (so longer updates, will support up to Android 11 while P20 Pro can support up to Android 10)

  • Since I posted this earlier, I can safely say that there are some performance issues with the new update. Delayed app opening, the phone gets hot and it's generally not very responsive and apps keep crashing. Has anyone else experienced this?

  • I dislike this new update. On my lock screen, most notifications no longer show content, even though they are set to. So I have to go into each app to view. That defeats the purpose. The Apps screen addition is pointless (suggestions). It just takes up more unnecessary space.

  • Just got emui 9.1 have to say phone seems faster more responsive, a few things i don't get tho. Why can't the recent apps be turned off in the app drawer and how come the torch app has been removed?? But over all its good to be up to date with the latest software once again.

  • Huawei P20 Pro or Xiaomi Mi 9?

  • After update please look in settings and battery options, then change back to performanc mode. I also dont understand why then put this mode as default when updating

  • Try playing games on your P20 Pro, I am sure you will not notice any performance issue.

  • Great phone. Runs ok but subpar gpu performance. My girlfriends Htc U Ultra running a Snapdragon 821 (2. Gen. Older than Kirin 970), scores more than 10% higher in all the 3Dmark tests..

  • any one in USA get 9.1 updates?

  • That's Huawei for you.

  • Do you think P20 Pro will receive Android Q soon?

  • Me too...

  • With first stock clean rom on android 8 antutu score was 210000, but later with all updates on android 9 antutu score is 140000. Is there anyone who knows why is that?

  • p30lite have better camera than a70.

  • Not only in camera department, P20 Pro is far better phone in every aspect as compared to A70.

  • Which has better camera? P20 Pro or Samsung A70. Please advise. THank you!

  • You should be worried. Im using a Honor 7x and I got security update for July.

  • Because im having problems receiving security updates im looking for other ways, Has anyone every used "firmware finder"??

  • Should i be bothered having not received any updates since January 2019??

  • what can you say about camera's photo quality comparing to oreo?

  • Am in Tanzania inhave never received EMUI 9.1 update..

  • 9.1 download speed terribly slow? Anyone has the same problem?

  • Got the update emui 9.1 today 16.08.2019 in morocco

  • Yap, for one week and going. Little modifications, mainly camera and gallery. 3d photo, video animation...

  • Hello anyone got update Emui 9.1 from Portugal?

  • Super!!!

  • I took wonderfull Milky Way Images from P20 Pro and P30 Pro. It is Unbelievable. I never had a DSLR or Digital Camera. I feel like now I always have Digital Camera in my pocket. Check out following example and there is more.

  • how is camera quality on 9.1?

  • Latvia, 10.08.2019, got emui 9.1.

  • No i didn't recieve it yet in morocco

  • Hello everyone anyone got update Emui 9.1 from Morocco?

  • Got the 9.1 update in Pakistan today.

  • Got update yesterday.....

  • Got today 9,1 update in Lithuania

  • Got 9.1 today in england

  • Dude I think it's better to get the P20 Pro as a flagship. But the Xiaomi isn't a bad choice but I would still go with the Huawei.

  • Hi, Disappointed, whether by autonomy or by customizing the interface

  • P20 pro or black shark??

  • No dudes I also waiting for its updated

  • Not in england yet

  • Anyone here got EMUI 9.1?

  • What???

  • There's few options to turn off in selfie camera - Master AI, lightning, beauty effect... So, don't tell that the camera is a crap, if you don't know how to use it! And about EMUI... It has the same learning curve as the Samsung's ui. At the end it's your fault, so don't blame the phone...

  • Go to this site and follow instructions (https://www.huaweicentral.com/how-to-download-and-install-emui-9-1-beta/), when i first istalled it, there was a security update straight away

  • How do you enroll for the beta?

  • Anyone still running the January security patch? My phone still hasn't been updated yet!

  • My wife got this phone three months ago.. she totally hated it from the first day.. so she pushed me to give her my samsung and got the p20 pro. I had it for a week.. these are my thoughts of it.. excellent built quality, excellent battery life , very good oled screen , but not as good as a Samsung super amoled screen , excellent stereo speakers , very snappy in opening and closing apps.. very fast in wifi and lte.. BUT... EMUI is a crap.. a total mess that confused me.. the camera was perfect when shooting landscapes.. BUT.. when shooting people IT'S A DISASTER.. HUAWEI'S beautiful mode makes people look like they are made out of wax. So bad that there 100% fake.. and there is no option to turn that setting of. Is part of the camera software and can't be turned off.. it took me a week to sell it. And got me self the new A70.. excellent midrange phone.. be aware.. this phone's camera is a total crap when shooting people. And the EMUI is a big mess..

  • hi, p20 pro!

  • P from "P20" stands from photography, so do the math.

  • What is best? Huawei P20 Pro or Huawei Mate 20? - Battery life - Endurance - Durability - Camera ???

  • you still can enjoy it..you will get android Q too...only upcoming new phone will never be supported by google...

  • I put huawie beta on mine then used it to check for updates and it found security update for april 1st

  • I got 1st april 2019 security update on mine about 2 weeks ago

  • try open hi care, it might solve your problem because mine is may security patch already

  • You can just use Bluetooth headset.

  • I don't even know why you said this. We are happy together and with these Huawei phones :)

  • Im still running the January security patch has anyone had a newer security patch installed I'm checking everyday?

  • there is a reason for that...dont use headphones while charging

  • Future is an uncertain event...both phone & people.. lol

  • My future husband has this phone and it's amazing. All professional. Battery, display, camera, everything. We were both Samsung fans, but now we are in love with Huawei. Mention : I olso have Huawei p20 but lite

  • I am really enjoying this phone but I have one frustration with it: it is the same port for charging and headphones so can't do both at once which can be very annoying. I love the camera and the battery has a good lifetime and quick recharge.

  • you're wrong , they said that all the huawei smartphones that have been sold or those in the markets will receive the google services and updates . but the phones that didn't release yet are not going to receive any of the google services .

  • Have had mine since November 2018. Battery life is still amazing!! Phone lets you know of power intensive apps if there is one left running or running in background.

  • Hello. I've been using the P20 Pro since last year and I can confidently say this is still a great phone that I want to keep using. But the problem is that I won't be able to enjoy Google-related services in these coming months (due to US blacklisting) so I am looking for alternatives. Those who actually own this phone, please share your thoughts on 1) what your plans are i.e. whether you will switch to a new phone 2) which phone would be a reasonable replacement Thanks

  • The battery is still the same after a year of usage

  • Is the battery performance still good..i mean still same as the time u bought it?

  • After 1 year of using I got no issue from this phone.

  • did you experience screen freezing sometimes while opening an app? i experience that on 9.0.0.234 update

  • HELP, I have a tiny black dot inside my camera. It sticks out like sore thumb and seems to float around near the top when recording video.

  • Why still no emui 9.1 update?? Please add double tap to sleep and double tap to wake.

  • Hi... I have a P20 Pro and i have a small but very annoying problem. After i finish a phone call and remove the phone from my ear the screen stays black for up to 2 or 3 seconds sometimes. Does anyone else have this problem? I still have the original screen protector that came with the phone from the factory.

  • I compared 'Mate Pro 20' to the 'Mate x' today in store. What on earth is that curved edge screen about on the 'Mate 20 pro' = looks dreadful. So I brought the 'Mate x' instead. Prefer large screen & better sound too

  • We have April patch already here in UAE

  • Was it the March or January patch as i got the January patch a few weeks ago?

  • Yes last week after having security update of November 2018. The new security update has other add-ons and fixed to help with phone

  • there is something wrong with huawei phones,it loosing all the contacts numbers

  • Has anyone in the UK received the March security patch?

  • hey guys. got this phone for a few weeks now and all is working fine, but noticed something weird. i have set the update option to: do not auto update apps, but still i get auto update notifications!! it usually happens with Facebook and Instagram. from time to time, i just open the phone and there is the notification: facebook or insta updated!!! anyone had that happen? any advice. thnx in advance

  • I think every phone does that if you enable the setting

  • Hi anybody who owns it! Does it vibrate when outgoing call is answered? Thanks.

  • take P30

  • 2018 is the time when huawei becomes attractive by this phone. so huawei started his good career way back 2018. lot's of year to come. mark 1: 2018 it must be mark 2: 2019 also but will see

  • Hello everybody, I need help deciding between these two phones: P20 PRO at 479 Euros or P30 at 545 Euros? thanx

  • Help looking for a good case to protect my p20 pro I've bought 2 and both are OK but the cut outs for the lens is to shallow been looking on ebay and amazon can anyone help?

  • Help looking for a good case to protect my p20 pro I've bought 2 and both are OK but the cut outs for the lens is to shallow been looking on ebay and amazon can anyone help?

  • help me… I really wanted this phone but the only thing that is keeping me is the old bluetooth 4.2 and the old kirin 970 chipset thats already got it's butt kicked by the new snapdragon 730, a chipset for midrange!!! in my country a new P20 pro is around the same price as a second hand mate 20 pro. which one do you guys think is a better deal?

  • Loving my new P20 Pro upgraded from the honor 10 which was a great mid range phone but not a spot on the P20 Pro. The master AI is far better than on the honor and it seems to not over saturate the photo to much. The zoom is fab 3x optical, 5 x hybrid and even 10 x digital im impressed. Now running pie update, i have the perfect photo to carry around if i don't have my Nikon dslr with me.

  • It worth 500 $ no doubt...

  • Had the same question... and solved it. I bought P20Pro... But the price difference was about 200 $. Photo camera is ok... video recording ok 4k..and playback also ok... Using this phone only for one week.

  • I received version 9.0 after 4 updates of 8.1...last week... Phone version CLT-L29.. REGION CENTRAL EUROPE

  • does it worth the price ?

  • Yes i know funny tho ive just sold my honor 10 which was not a flag ship and only a mid range phone but it was updated to pie last November.

  • You have to be patient until your updates come up.

  • Just received my brand new p20 pro for a very cheap price of 497 euros, but i noticed its still running android 8.1 not 9. Has anyone else not seen the update for pie yet??

  • I have p20 pro CLT L09. I purchased it as a used phone and when I go to firmware it shows other version and works as a dual sim. Problem is that when I record videos in 1080 its not playing and show green lines and phone is stucking while I recorded them as 4k its working perfectly fine. Same issue with while I am playing youtube videos its showing me black screen and sometimes hangs the phone. Any idea why its does? Seriously playing videos is must on smart phones.

  • very amazing

  • no it doesn't have expandable memory

  • I have a questions ? I have the same phone also ..does it have a expandable memory card ?

  • please enlighten me about this phone ...It seems that it not have expandable memory ..the internal memory of mine is just 32 gb ...tnks

  • I had the same dilemma ive gone with the p20 pro, Its still a very good camera set up to match the p30 plus i love to shoot in true monochrome which the p30 doesn't have. I already own the honor 10 which is a cheaper slimmed down version of the pro. I didnt like the rounded glass on the p30 pro or the mate 20 pro. Do you really need all the zoom to?? P20 pro have 3 x optical and 2 x digital so 5 x hybrid zoom. will do for me. Ive also been told to shoot in only 10mp as the 40mp setting as the 10mp gives you a clearer more detailed shot.

  • Has everyone had the new android 9 update for there P20 pro's

  • I am not sure which one to buy, the P20 pro or P30 (Not pro). In Thailand the price for p20 pro has dropped to around 600$ and P30 stands at 700$. My main reason to buy one of these is photography. 1. They almost have identical camera, but p20 pro is ios 2. P20 pro had higher ips 3. P30 has in screen unlock 😁 Please suggest and help.

  • For this kind of money, you can TWO Pocophones or THREE Redmi Note 7s and still have enough left over for a date for two at a good Chinese-American restaurant.

  • At first, I was very happy with this phone. Overtime I have come to dislike it. - Issues with the battery drains way too quickly!!! - Randomly reboots that are as annoying as hell :( - Camera - Specs are fancy, but over exposure is an issue that makes pictures looks strange at times.

  • No. it is dual stand by.

  • I have this phone few months and although it has very good specs, I'm wondering for some issues. - camera stability on video is cool on 60fps but should be in 4K also. - sometimes photos look very sharp and detailed that makes them look quite strange. - on Instagram when I'm trying to post a video as story, while I'm on draft mode before publishing, the video is not playing but stuck. After I publish then it shows normally but I don't know the reason and still didn't find any solution.

  • Is P20 Pro Dual SIM full active?

  • Do they get updates like pixel devices the same month the new OS launches no. Does it get them 6 months after sometimes more than 6 months ive had Sony devices there good but slow on updates.

  • lol? sony with slow updates???

  • Well Huawei are bit like Samsung and LG and Sony. Slow on updates. So again if you the latest updates quick get a pixel. I'm on Android 9 at the mo. It's due another update. So should be Q update but not sure on anything after that.

  • thank you, now I am clear enough for it's performance. so how's the software support for huawei? I never used their devices before. do you think it will get android Q or even R?

  • To be honest if its raw power the snapdragon does out perform the Kirin chipset. But benchmarks are not sole selling point. Now I.m.o I have had snapdragon based phones and they tend to overheat. Now I'm a gamer and play a lot of real racing 3. And the Kirin 970. Runs sweet as a nut and no over heating issues. Onto the P20 pro screen the FHD+ is sharp for watching videos. Colourful enough for viewing pictures. And handles games fast frame rate. So hope this helps.

  • which one is a better performer? I don't always play games, but when I do I will play it for a few hours. I'm a occasional heavy user. also, how's your screen, any issue with it?

  • Who cares about boot loaders and custom roms emui 9 and pie runs sweet as a nut for me.

  • Right honestly the phone is amazing ive Had mine months no issues. Right it boils down to 2 issues that will make your mind 1 P20 pro has better night mode. 2 The camera set up is pretty impressive And reason to get Pixel 2 XL 1 latest updates 2 pure android whichever version your on. Camera very good for Sony module.

  • hey! dont talk like that for huawei! Huawei is great! I have the p10 and i dont have any issues! still in 2019 its worth it!! Now its even cheap so its pretty good deal. its about $300!

  • is this phone still worth buying right now? I'm confused alot between this and Pixel 2 XL since both have the same price here in my country for around 450$. which one should I get?

  • Give it a few more months. Phone is full of glitches

  • No more huawei devices! Locked bootloader no more! I switched yersteday from Huawei p20 pro to Oneplus 6 for custom rom and root. Huawei lock you in the jail! don't give them your money

  • AI camera in Huawei is weird in color color rendering, it should be Artificial illogical not Artificial intelligence. You can see it yourself:

  • Cant believe all the negativecomments on this phone. I own a P20 pro. And cant fault it. The camera is outstanding. The screen is faultless for a 1080p. My only niggle no 4k 60fps. Which is bizarre. So all in all I would recommend this mobile.

  • you have to consider that the display is omly 1080p.

  • Seems like a good phone for me!

  • Is the p20 pro future proof will it get another update from google after android 9??

  • I m looking for new phones but I think P20 pro is inexpensive,look premium and I Like the 3 caneras😍

  • where u bought?

  • I bought a Huawei P20 Pro phone two months ago in Romania. The phone has had problems with the display from the beginning, but I have considered it to be automatic brightness calibrations. My phone then had a miniblast (stand on the desk). At the Huawei service I was told that the display is broken and therefore the repair can not be covered by the warranty. It looks like the Huawei Pro p20 is not one that comes in the premium range, although it is as expensive as a premium one. I certainly will not buy another huawei product, considering I've already got a 700 euro loss.

  • Just bought one for me and my girlfriend. With cheap contract for 6 months they were about 330 Euro each. I have to say Emui has come a long way. The P20 pro is running Android 9. Its pretty smooth and quick in response. The battery is very good, and if you run a partial black wallpaper and dark menus, the battery is really great. Cameras are still fantastic. And in some ways better than the mate 20 pro. The screen has great colors, and I personally like the front fingerprint scanner, which I use for navigation (so you get a bigger screen area). Build quality, Wifi reception, Bluetooth and cellular reception are class leading I would say (something often overlooked by reviewers - but very importatant).. No 3,5 mm jack is kind of a bummer, but at least you get an included dongle and USB C headset. And fitted nice screen protector and transparent silicone case. All in all one of the best phones I have had since my trusty old Galaxy S3 many years ago :)

  • The GPS in my unit has been very inaccurate. Is slow to update position when on the move making car navigation impossible, almost unusable when trying to navigate on foot as well. In general the GPS is useless and frustrating. Has anyone else had these issues and do you know how to fix it? Thanks.

  • 4k Video taken from Huawei P20 Pro. Check it out on 4K TV or Monitor.

  • Oh, I completely understand you. I've had a similar sense of frustration after buying highest rated, cameraphone #1 in whole world - Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The main reason of getting it was the camera system and how it performs against my Pixel 3 phone. After playing with it for couple of weeks I've sold it and came back to Pixel. Sure the Mate 20 Pro cameras are awesome especially zoom, macro and wide angle. But it appeared that cameras performance is inconsistent. Some shots are really outstanding but a lot of crappy ones. I was getting a lot of out of focus photos compared to Pixel 3. Also night mode pictures are coming out over-contrasted and washed out quite often. People's faces coming out washed out, over-smoothed too often as well. Night mode video is just a disaster, completely unusable. Since P20 Pro / Mate 20 Pro cameras are very similar, I guess all my complains apply to both of them. Finally, EMUI experience was worse than I expected. I do like to see notifications of all kind on my Always-on display to be able not to dive into the phone every time to check messages, emails, missed Skype calls etc. Apparently it is the case for Mate 20 Pro. Moreover, I wasn't getting notifications visible in the top left corner of the screen unless I swipe it down. Fingerprint scanner is a pain as well. So all thing considered, the phone is heavily overpriced. Definitely not worth to buy it for $1000 at the moment in current state. Hope Huawei will address the issues so I might buy this again in half a year for half price. Cheers

  • Me and another two my friends have this phone...phone is good, nothing in general to complain, but something happened very interesting... all together we did phone factory reset, after that we took the same picture under the same condition (indoor, outdoor and low light condition)... on all three phone picture come out different...we don't know why this happened... hardware problems or what? Anybody else have similar experience... To be clear after factory reset we used camera without any additional settings...

  • Why do you need to root your phone at this age!!??

  • Nokia 808 still has the best camera

  • I want to buy one of these three models, so I'm wondering who is better: Huawei P20 Pro Huawei Mate 20 (non-pro) Samsung S9+ The following items are only important to me: 1. Battery 2. Selfie camera 3. Rear camera I would like to hear your personal experiences. Best regards

  • If Anyone is thinking of buying Huawei smartphone just know you can't unlock the bootloader anymore. So no more rooting, custom rom etc.

  • If you have the money then go with Mate 20 pro. I would love to have that but at there store they only had P20 pro so i got this one. Mate 20 pro is newer than p20 pro but mate have bigger notch though.

  • delete

  • P20 pro vs Mate 20 which one to choose

  • This mobile is excellent. The camera is awesome. The battery life is very good. My only real complaint is the 4k video is only 30fps. It looks OK. But think 1080p 60fps is sharper and clearer. Other than its well recommended.

  • Blaming the phone for not properly configuring your PC? You could choose H264 instead of H265 video format/codec, like @WHO said or you could install the appropriate codec. I'm assuming you use Windows on your PC, so just go ahead and install K-Lite codec pack from codecguide. Use mega version. It has all you'll ever need to play video and audio on your PC.

  • you should choose H264 instead of H265 video format/codec while recording your video. its embed on video setting menu. This phone can record H265 video to lower video file size but finding compatible player on your PC is difficult since you need to find decoder to play it. So choose H264. Go to camera app, click video then go to video settings, click resolution, then tick h.264

  • I am very surprized how good reviews this phone gets generally. Based on good reviews I decide to buy one and did last November. This is my 3rd Huawei phone. the other 2 are a few years old budget models that both have worked fine so far. The P20 Pro is different. I was focused on the "good" camera when I made my decision, thinking about bringing this phone with me when I travel and leaving my cameras at home. But that will not be possible. The camera is in many ways ok although some features are useless gimmick that actually make the photos worse, like f.x. the portrait mode that washes out the photos, and often colors are way off in normal conditions and the digital zoom is a joke ;). But the night mode and the panorama mode are quite good, also the pro mode when used for RAW photos. What is worst about this phone is that it can not be used for video recording. To explain that further I have been recording some videos and yesterday I had accumulated 25 videos on the phone. And playback on the phone is no problem. But since I want to watch my videos on my TV I decided it was time to download them from the phone to my desktop. So I did, but then only 5 of 25 videos can be played on the computer. I have downloaded this again on a differnt computer, updated the Hi-suite, bypassed the Hi-suite. Nothing works, only 5 vids of 25 can be played when downloaded. Playing the others results in some error code on one computer. The other will play the audio and not the video. This is very frustrating. I can not recommend this phone and really regret buying it since the idea was to use it for photos and videos primarily. Also I find it strange that in the reviews no one seems to have run into this problem. Maybe it has to do with some quality control and I just got a lemon. Forums like this are my last try to find a solution to the problem before going to the seller and returning it.

  • how is sound quality on hdphones?

  • I have P20 pro 64g 6g RAM

  • Camera lens repairs are fairly straightforward if that is something you are prepared to look into

  • 28% to 24% overnight is not out of the ordinary. There is no cause for concern

  • Huawei's AI integration helps with this devices longevity. It should easily last you two years.

  • The P20 Pro is far superior in this list.

  • I got this phone on December, everything is great so far until recently i cracked the rear camera. I was surprised since I didn't expect it to crack after I was carefully placing down my phone on a table, the table was flat and smooth. I heard a crack noise and checked the back of my phone, noticed 3 separate cracks on the lenses. The cracks dont seem to affect the picture quality, and its still amazing and kicks ass, but it is just a pain to look at. Its not very noticeable but my mind keeps telling me there's cracks on the lenses. Guess ill buy one of those expensive fusion cases and tempered glass for the rear cam.

  • Ingress damage is not covered under the warranty. You can't get angry at Huawei for denying your warranty claim. As you described 'dropping' your phone into water, water impacting the device with force can cause more pressure than the IP rating can withstand. You have to take that factor into account when you are claiming the device was only submerged to a 30cm depth. You cannot blame the phone or Huawei's response for your predicament.

  • HiCare is pre-installed on this device. Swipe down from the middle of the home screen to search for it

  • Would highly recommend consulting Huawei about your issue, the cameras are this devices greatest asset.

  • Android 9.0 Pie will be available globally by mid February. This is dependent on your region and carrier.

  • fingers crossed, nothing has been promised

  • There is a 8/256GB variant of this device

  • If the repair was performed by Huawei or an authorised Huawei repair agent, the IP rating will be reinstated.

  • JStatham - Thanks for your reply. Also found that using the 'Restore Defaults' Tab helped to solve it. Thanks matey.

  • 40 mp camera but no protection for a 6 inches screen ?

  • you need to disable beauty mode in order to change the resolution.

  • Since installing EMUI Update 9.0.0.168 (C782E3R1P9) on 24.1.19 on Huawei P20 Pro. I have noticed that on Camera VIDEO setting I'm no longer able to change resolution. It won't change from 720 HD. Has anyone else experienced this since updating? Thanks

  • Read this: Wanted to get this phone after a week and now after seeing this.. makes me think twice. It looks like majority of people have this problem.

  • Hey anyone faced with the glue gate issue? It was something I haven’t heard before till I got on my mate 20 pro. It’s just 22 days old. And worse huawei refuses to replace phone to phone even though it’s still under warranty. Now the screen has been replaced I doubt my phone isn’t water resistant anymore. :(((((((

  • Never matter boss, I should be called BigFrubeFree69

  • S9+ killer

  • Definitely.

  • Just did the update but when I use a custom wallpaper that app icons are a bit spazzed, you using the default theme/wallpaper or is there something in the settings

  • Android Pie update was actually 4.45GB. Everything works fine after the update and the battery life seems even better.

  • the information is actually correct, gsmarena usually display max configuration. if you want to display 6gb then select 128 variant tab

  • This smartphone price is too high and its premium so i idk and hope that it i will get the next android version.

  • Pls. Correct your RAM it supposed to be only 6 gb RAM for p20 pro . do your research dont confuse the buyers .

  • I just found out that this device have IR blaster too what it doesn't' have! Great job Huawei!

  • Should get Android "Q" eventually, as the phone will be less than 2 years old in January 2020.

  • Just got the C.L.T EMUI 9.0.0 168 update today, January 18 in the UK. 4GB file.

  • 100% yeah! recommend it!

  • I just got it today with 2 years plan from my ISP. I got 2 updates one was for android Pie, i have xiaomi redmi 5 plus too and i was able to unlocked the bootloader and install a custom rom! But on huawei P20 Pro i can't because Huawei block it and i have to pay 3rd party to do it for me so no thanks. Great smartphone, Beautiful, fast but the locked bootloader is something huawei have to think about.

  • Thanks for advice , I will try now ;)

  • So you can afford this phone and you cannot afford to buy a bluetooth headset. Anker blue tooth headset is very affordable with great audio. And moresoe, if your issue is the absence of dedicated headset plug, it was not hidden anyway. When you picked up the phone, you already know it. So you accepted it that is why you bought it. Dumb comments...

  • Hi i just retake an antutu test. I got 214000 now. Go to battery setup and put lt on performance mode. See what happens.

  • Same to my phone also.. I wonder why ;/

  • Would you recommend this phone?

  • Hi .just want to confirm about camera after pie update in camera any new version . mate 20 pro having a video potrait. When we take video in mate 20 pro there will be blur options in video... Such updates did came in p20 pro... Pls tell. Sorry for my bad english

  • No buddy, i didn't feel any changes in camera aftr the latest updation

  • Hi did you notice a change in camera app after upgrade?

  • Hi i bought this phone 4 days ago. I made an antutu test. 210000 as a result. Today i upgrade at 9.0 and retake The antutu test. 163000 as a result. Why?

  • I got my update yesterday in the UK so hopefully it shouldn't be too much longer for you :)

  • still waiting on Android Pie for the my P20 pro

  • Hey, just got Android Pie on my P20 Pro from Vodafone Ireland.

  • It's normally pre-installed app, check on the TOOLS drawer. -,-

  • Complaining about cameras on p20 pro which are its strength?? You must be joking! Return your unit you might be having a defective unit or you don't know how to use the cameras.

  • Great device..Enjoying to its full potential

  • Would you recommend this phone?

  • Great device..Enjoying to its full potential

  • Very bad selfie camera, always washed out photos, no tap to focus function. Blurry photos on main camera most of the time. My nexus 5x was better camera. But baterry life is great on hyawei p20 pro. I just dissapointed about cameras. No vudeo stabiluzation on 4k, blurry photos on back camera, bad selfie camera.

  • Please, how do I sign in to hicare. I do not see the app in playstore

  • Sign in to HiCare app then you will get the latest update like magic.

  • no! latvia bite

  • I got the 128gb Canada warranty version of this phone and I wouldn't update to pie as the system update says 8.1 is the latest. Is it that there is no update yet for this version or there is something I am not getting right?

  • No Andriod P When i get :@

  • This or pixel 2/2 xl camera?

  • Splash resistance and dropping your phone fully into the water like you describe are two different things. You screwed up and dropped it, that has nothing to do with getting warranty service for a water splash. Learn from your mistake

  • Not yet :-/ Vodafone UK

  • It's fake

  • does it have 64gb version? a friend of mine bought 64gb version of P20pro

  • Anyone here get update to android (pie 9)?

  • A question though, does handheld long exposure works in Pro Mode as to in Night Mode?

  • This phone is great so far, great camera. If couldnt bring my DSLR, I greatly rely on this phone with its amazing picture quality. Only problems I've had so far was the facial recognition couldn't identify my face but it could be fixed just by restarting the phone and the other problem is when using the portrait mode, the blurry effect is just kinda meh and sometimes the blurry effect would also affect the subject of the photo, so i take a couple more photos so I could get the blur right (mostly probably is because i have shaky hands :/ ). But overall its a great phone, great camera, great battery life. Its amazing!

  • Oh my god.. I also having the same problem

  • Ohhh! sad to hear that!

  • while scrolling through IG it will loop replay video sound continuously. the sound gets stuck in loop even when i close the app. while using other apps the sound is still there. only stops when i reboot the phone. restarting the phone 3 to 4 times a day or after using IG now. Any solution ?

  • Erm, what? The issues you've mentioned there seem very isolated and unusual and specific to you and your model... Sounds like a software issue with Netflix - maybe try installing it again? And as for the WiFi issue you're having - try checking for an update on your phone, or investigate your WiFi settings? Either way, those aren't universal problems with this phone... just something you seem to be experiencing, so it hardly seems fair to bash it the way you are. Also, not being able to charge while listening to music is such a non-issue these days. For starters, you rarely need to charge this phone as the battery is incredible and it easily lasts a day and a half, even when I TRY to drain it. And when you DO charge it, it's super fast! Just charge it at night, dude... And as for listening to music - get a bluetooth speaker, or bluetooth headphones - they're SO cheap these days. Job done. This is the second best phone available on the market today, beat only by Huawei's own successor the Mate 20 Pro.

  • Worst decision I made of switching from Samsung to Huawei... I don't know where to start : from the inability to charge and listen to music at the same time because of that stupid iPhone style plug or from the regular issue I have with Netflix that obliges switch off every time or maybe also with the issue of recognizing my own home wifi and having again to switch off and on. Then other missing basic elements : not possible to program a message,... I really don't advice this phone.

  • The camera is awesome(night photos and 3x zoom), display is great, performance is ok, batter life is awesome, no Samsung, LG, Sony can work so long as P20 Pro.

  • Mate 20 for sure

  • first of all, this is my dream phone, i love this phone when huawei said they want to make a concept phone with 3 cameras and twilight colour. i started to fallin in love with this phone and i been waiting 2 years only to see huawei launching this phone,i waiting again until they sell it in singapore.... i bought in the end, and its just like dreams comes true, imagine you have 1 phone with that specification and technology, i mean i really think this phone is amazing, one day i was swimming, and i was taking a picture after that i miss handle and my phone felt to the water, only 7 sec maximum and 30 cm deep max, i am not that worry because i know huawei said p20 pro is ipv 67, mean dust resist and water splash resistant.. after that i realise speaker went bad, and i am thinking ok speaker wet probably and it will be back to good in the next 3 hours... yup i am right after 3 hours everything back to normal next day i realise my screen like something wrong , its like a lamp almost broken , blinking so i am thinking what happened with my phone, but after couple hours everything back to normal...i am glad with that...next day or 2 days after swimming pool, my screen black,i cant see anything,i am abit panic because i know something wrong with my screen..i tried to calm down after couples hour i can turn back on my screen, and again i am glad with this, but this keep happening i mean black screen and adter wait couple hours back to normal, the next day or 4 days after, my screen finally Rest in peace.... until now my screen still black, i cant see anything,i am really sad and upset in the same time, after i check all the detail i just realise actually the function still working well, i mean google( if u using google assistant you can cal your phone "hey google) still working, even voice command ,wifi,i even can accept a phone if u can guess where is the exactly "accept button" i can reject phone, i can call someone using voice command... only lcd black i went to service center in my country which is they said they cant repair it i need to go back to singapore to claim but here they said you cant claim because its ur problem got splash by water. i mean WTH! is like you have a car they claim your car has Anti breaking system and when you drive it you crash because that ABS system failed and you cant claim it.... its just like you buy a television with internet and you cant using internet... i buy huawei because of all the spec including water resistant.. i am really really sad and upset .... i using this phone only for 1.5 months and in january i will fly to singapore to service center, cross finger i hope they can fix and i can claim the guarantee... still sad with this situation

  • Huawei P20 pro vs mate 20 pleas help

  • First Impression My first impressions with this phone were that it's amazing (which it really is) I really liked the look of it and it was comfortable in the hand but felt a bit big at first because i just switched from an old Samsung S6. I have a few problems with the phone. The first one is that only in certain themes notifications show up on the lock screen. Two the camera on apps such as snapchat is very laggy if you zoom in, it is really choppy and sometimes the video freezes when I try preview it. In general, the phone is amazing apart from slight software issues which can definitely can be fixed in a future EMUI update. The cameras on this phone are amazing they take unbelievable photos and the battery life is insanely good as expected. I 100 percent recommend this phone to people as it is probably the best phone on the market for the price of it. .

  • good phone it calls well

  • The P20 Pro is the best phone this year in my opinion It now costs less than a one plus phone and for that price you are getting a great handset with awesome camera set up and amazing battery life I bought the note 9 exynos version in the UK but sent it back because of the camera and the rubbish cpu I also sent the mate 20 Pro back because it cost me 900 pounds and it isn't 350 pounds better than the P20 Pro, in some situations the P20 Pro seems to take better pictures At around 550 pounds it's simply the best phone you can buy at the minute If you are thinking of buying one just do it, you will not be disappointed, I never thought I'd send a Samsung note back and prefer a Huawei phone... That's crazy... But its also a true story

  • P20 Pro not play WMA audio files by original Music player...

  • The best phone I ever had. The hype is real. It's like you have a DSLR camera in your pocket.

  • Have been using it since april for photo and video, no slowdowns or battery drain, just as fast as ever. Don´t install all the bells and whistles you can find and it uses only few % of battery per working day if idle. Best smartphone i have ever had, better than iPhoneX. When shooting vid with iPhoneX, sound is monophonic but this has a good stereo sound in video.

  • This phone and Mate 20 Pro in a word: quality. Very good quality.

  • Are you always keep the phone switched on at the whole day? Mine i will always let it "sleep" when I sleep, it will automatically switched on when alarming. Sometimes, always keep phone is ON will not let system cached file cleared or you can run phone manager once awhile to optimize your phone memory and battery. So far I am practicing this and my phone battery is good. One thing have to check with you, did you keep both sim cards activated? I find out it will drain more when I am connected both sim cards

  • Hi, I am owner for P20 Pro. I am happy with using it. My sis was using Mate 10 Pro, so far both phones are very satisfied. Slow? is depend on your usage, and how you use. I have been using it since April 2018, after two times major upgrade (GPU turbo and EMUI 9 beta) the system is more smooth and user friendly. I am awaiting the EMUI 9 official version, China is getting it. But I am from Malaysia. Try it and you will enjoy with it.

  • Should i purchase this phone or the normal mate 20 !!?

  • I'm planning to by one of this days and was wondering which is the best one. Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei Mate 10 Pro, Huawei P20 lite, Huawei Mate 20 lite or nova3i. Any suggestion?

  • Hi, I'm considering this phone. Does the Huawei phones normally slow down after 3 months? I don't want to buy a phone that can't last 2 years. Thanks

  • Noticed that the battery starts to drain quicker after a month of use, not as good as when brand new.

  • Can you share share your complete firmware version snapshot

  • i would like know when can I get the Andriod Pie Update?? (mine is Thailand)

  • Mine is L29, the dual-SIM variant.

  • Hello dear which modle number you have. I have clt l09c782

  • Just got an update of 701MB. The change log says that it is October security patch.

  • It is already there. Go to Aperture mode and click video, the ic9n next to shutter.

  • Next android 9 update, add video bokeh effects in p20 pro

  • Hi.... I want to know, why my friend call and i answer but my friend not hearing my answer?

  • Probably, now in December

  • What about battery while playing games like PUBG??? Any one help me...

  • Hi, Everything fine in this phone, but the have to improve front camera photo quality and Always on display settings. We hope huawei will improve next android 9 update. And if these two are perfect huawei p20 pro perfectly complete package. Thank you.

  • What's it like for making calls and sending texts?

  • Which one is better P20 Pro or mate 10 pro?

  • Its perfectly fine,Sally :)

  • Hi , I just got the phone, I need a little help.. anyone had the update CLT-L29 8.1.0.154? should I proceed with it? and regarding the battery, it dropped through the night from 28% to 24% .. is this normal for the first night? I know battery performances in general may increase through time... I disabled the unnecessary apps and turned power saving mode on..

  • no extra headphone jack 1 no sd card 1 it is 3/5.

  • When they will update on Android 9.0 in Europe?

  • Added milkey way photos taken from Huawei P20 Pro. See the description of the following you tube video.

  • AMAZING phone. I've had it for 3 months now and it hasn't slowed down one bit. Crazy good battery life.

  • may i know why??

  • Why

  • hello,i am recently using huawei 20 pro for few months now...honestly i dont like huawei anymore...

  • OPPO RX 17 PRO of course just got this model amazing

  • Vanilla Mate 20.

  • Which one is the best P20 pro Samsung Note 8 IPHONE 8 plus

  • huge phone!

  • Gof this one 10 days ago, I'm absolutely happy with it. Everything ru s perfectly, Games with the highest Grafics runs just fine but its the one heating thing,, the phone gets really warm on high grafics! I was shocked. No lags no anything just heat. Otherwise, the phone is just super great

  • Mate 20 pro no ois for 40mp. And 17mm ultra wide not good for focus. P20 pro better

  • Working in a phone shop I get to see every new released device, and I was blown away by the P20 Pro. I think this phone is fantastic. I swapped my iPhone 8 Plus for this phone and was Apple through and through until I experienced this. It's fast, responsive, fantastic camera and it does everything I could want it to and more! I would highly recommend this phone without a doubt.

  • The Mate 20 pro cameras are better because of the wide angle one and newer software, which P20 pro should get soon. I would go for the p20 pro if I would need to be careful with my budget. For any other reason definitely Mate 20 pro

  • Depends on what its used for and how it was used and the optimization don't be too Judgy about the phone and besides many people have bought it already so don't you think its waste of money for them? not really a waste and maybe the charge cycles the P20 Pro has been in think first

  • The best part is later on it will get the EMUI 9.0 Android Pie and in that updates, camera recording in 4k will be stabilized along with Master AI 2.0, which improve the photography performance just like Mate 20. I despise who says bad things about Huawei device without experiencing it first. For that price, its a bargain!

  • still waiting huhuhu

  • I just got the p20 pro a while ago and it is an amazing phone. Despite all the fud EMUI 8.1 is great. You can choose ro use the app drawer in the menu and you can set the fingerprint reader to replace the classical navigation buttons. In the battery settings you can choose which apps will be allowed to run services uninterrupted by the battery optimisation software. On my count there are just a few Huawei apps preinstalled: flashlight, voice recorder, remote control (this one is amazing, it learned my old Mitsubishi AC units in a matter of seconds), dialer, contacts and calendar. Some of them are uninstallable but I chose not to because I actually like them. Pointless to speak about the camera , it's just phenomenal. I am not a heavy gamer so the Kirin 980 is more than enough for me. Usually I run 7-10 tabs in chrome, VLC to stream from my NAS to the Chromecast on my TV, telegram and a few news feed apps...that's usually taking 3.5-4 GB of RAM because I run them all at the same time (VLC does the processing of the media stream on the phone). Another cool thing: when you show all running apps (the classical aware navigation button) it says how much ram is used I.was not 100% sure that I am making the best decision before I got it ...because of all the fud spread by reviewers but now I think it is the best price/value ratio you can get. I got it with a Canadian provider and after 2 years it will come to 480cad...that's about 370 USD. That's less than the OnePlus phones and let's not forget about the battery and the camera. Maybe when it launched it was a tough choise because of the price but now, this phone is a no brainier. If you never owned this phone just stop fudding or stop writing in this thread alltogather

  • Go and watch at youtube

  • As per the best results go for P20 pro in terms of sound and camera.

  • Where did you see that? I doubt thats correct. V30 has a 3300mAh battery. It cant beat P20 Pro with 4000mAh. I doubt that very much

  • We know its not a gaming phone, youre probably just and iPhone X fan and you can hide the notch! learn about the phone than just saying trash about it

  • Dude the V30 has 3300 mah battery and the p20 pro beats it!

  • At least its a phone and no its not garbage the p20 pro is amazing! it has 3 cameras and the V30 doesnt

  • dude, don't ever state your own opinion as a fact. it's making you look dumb. the V30's camera isn't better than the P20's by the way. the p20 pro is ranked as the 2017's best camera smartphone of all time. it's number 1 in dxo mark too.

  • dont buy p20 pro i drop only in my pocket the glass easily break with panzer glass protection the amoled screen its to soft thats my opinion

  • you again?...with "born slow and drain fast lol" copy-paste line on every Huawei phone post...it's pathetic.

  • Sorry not jealous...V30 beat this crap phone Born slow and drain fast lol

  • Poor u never experience Huawei goodness & keep trashing about it everywhere. Stop with the obvious jealousy.

  • What a poor battery with 4000mah low resolution screeen

  • Everything is good But......... Camera need improvement, because ones drop down. camera Will be lost auto focus. All dual cameras huawei mobile have same problems. (Also p 20 is the last device for me from huawei)

  • lg g7 over 100db has loud sound

  • Basically, the phone that has 8gb can multitask better. The more RAM, the better the phone can handle running multiple apps at once.

  • Most ever good loud speaker ever build on an mobile 91.DB ,, i

  • 2gb

  • What is Difference between 6gb version and 8gb can anyone tell Please ??

  • Smh got delisted from 3dmark for cheating like opppo findx

  • so after the long explanation what would you like me to do,, clap???

  • and so??

  • this is not a gaming phone not worth to buy and I don't like the notch design trying hard copycats

  • Did they remove OIS from the main 40 MP camera in the Mate 20 Pro? That would be a downgrade, because the P20 Pro had OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) in it's main 40 MP camera.

  • I bought this about 2 months ago. And it is really good. Specially Camera. And also performance and the battery life. I shoot Milky way form this phone. Photos are really amazing. Following you tube video shows how to do it from P20 Pro.

  • Why does the official website not mention anything about P20 Pro in a 8gb ram and 256 gb memory configuration Heard they released a leather edition with this config but not mentioned anywhere Any idea guys

  • Mate 10 pro or p20 pro is better?

  • I just got the phone. Gotta say i am impressed by the camera. Like really really impressed. But other than that my S9 Plus does it better...

  • Just wanted to say huawei released the mobile with a really nice night mode cam automatically can reach 102000 iso with an impressive result but before they release the mate 20pro the lowered the iso in the night mode to 3200 then with the last update they mange to make it 1600iso in the night mode I think they just want to say mate 20pro is the best cam

  • Thank you very much :).

  • Just some back luck for you all. I have still my Galaxy Alpha, S5 (day 1) and Galaxy S6 Edge (day 1 too) working fine here. But P20 Pro totally worths it despite lacking some of the best touchwizz features.

  • yes, settings > general > add watermarks

  • its not 4k. 4k resolution for mobile is 3840×2160 and p20 pro has 1080 x 2240 resolution. its near the 2k. 2k resolution is 2560×1440

  • Just bought P20 Pro 1 week back. Bought on the back of good feedback on the camera. Have been a Samsung fan before this change. Just realized that Samsung has a sort of expiry date on its motherboard after coming near to 2 years or less. My S5 and S7 Edge have similar issues with the motherboard. My wife's S5 and son's S7 also same issue with the motherboard. So I am guessing that they intended me to upgrade to newer models. Decided to switch to Huawei for a change.

  • Someone needs to learn how to google "4k resolution"... Yes it is 4K - believe me if you want...

  • Of course not

  • Huawei P20 Pro has 4k screen or Not ???

  • best smartphone of 2018

  • Sir, Huawei P20 Pro has 4k screen or Not ??? And what is the resolution of 4k screen

  • Does P20 pro have an OTG. Anyone. Thanks

  • boi you need a 4K screen to watch 4K content

  • There's a high pitched noise, heard with wired headphones, it's actually giving me a headache so I use bluetooth headphones now, which is a shame of my p15s . Also the dragonfly red isn't compatible with Android due to a default audio level setting problem. Did anyone else notice this high pitch amplifier whine?

  • Can the phone disable the brand watermark on the taken images? Looks like the images are shot from 'a cheap Chinese' phone when I look on a image samples (don't have any racist intentions honestly).

  • I don't see in the specs on GSMArena a breakdown on what LTE Bands the P20 Pro supports. Is that posted anywhere? Thanks

  • Charing my phone for first time. Is it normal it is taking more than 2 hours to charge and it's on 59%.? Anyone help? Ty

  • wow!what a question!a phone costing more than 1000 bucks at start of release can not play 4k videos?if it can record, then obviously they are for to play

  • 4K videos playing on Huawei P20 Pro????

  • Zoom on most smartphones today is with a different camera that has a different focal length. no quality is lost.

  • There is not such a thing as real zooming on smartphones. Since there is no zoom lens, what you actually see is a cropped image of the original photo. This is why you lose quality when you zoom with your phone. So instead of complaining just download an app as Snapseed or similar and crop any photo to your needs. It will be exactly the same as zooming.

  • Huawei p20 Pro When I'm going to sleep i connect the charger.but phone getting full chrge and auto mticly power on .what's the reason

  • Huawei p20 pro charging port power off nightautomatically next day morning power on how to reason

  • nice!

  • I just took delivery of a Mate 10 Pro - brilliant phone, everything you'd want, and quality camera apps. A day later I discovered that for a small price increase I could have had P20 Pro and I had a moment of wanting to exchange the Mate 10. This was entirely about the camera setup. I am a bit of a serious photographer and moving up to a 40mp setup from a 20mp one seemed completely logical. Then I thought a bit more about my existing cameras. Nexus 5. This took a lot of flak in reviews over its 8mp setup but I've taken some quite good pictures with it. Unfairly criticised at the time if you ask me. LG G2. Pretty damn good on all fronts as far as its camera goes, at 1060p. I took some quality landscape photos with it and it's picture editing suite or similar would have improved the G4 a lot. LG G4. Replaced by my Mate 10 Pro, its 2160p 16mp camera was definitely above average but its software became too basic for my needs. I also began noticing a lot of noise when transposing photos from colour to b/w. Basically I've been thinking that a 24mp or similar triple cam setup on the P20 Pro might've made a bit more sense and proved less confusing for phone buyers who don't want to upgrade too often. My Olympus DSLR dates from 2006, has 10.5mp and still does everything I want it to. My Mate 10 Pro is going to last longer than my G4 did and size, I decided, isn't everything when it comes to phone cameras.

  • i like this phone alot cheap price good benchmarks and good build quality

  • I sold every make and different providers for 20 years. I would never buy an apple. Nor a Motorola newer than the old bricks. I was there when Samsung were dipping their toes in the market. They were strong, but had to be, coming up against Nokia, which (referring ONLY to the original Finnish company), have still never been surpassed for solid dependability. To get to the point: it seems many companies develop a good reputation and then they ride on it for years before the general public starts to notice that the manufacturer has quite trying. I just bought a Huawei. Liking it. They're moving up and coming forward. There's a good reason the big providers are all supplying them. Before they get ridiculously expensive, at least you won't have to worry about having laid out a bunch of cash for trash.

  • No one cares dude :)

  • OMG.. thats a master piece!!

  • thats mandatory just with the 40MP

  • Just night mode? Lol

  • Hi, I am an Iphone user since Iphone appeared. Now I have to choose between P20 Pro and Iphone X... what do you think?

  • HELP? :) I am an apple person through and through. I had a 4s and switched to Samsung s4 and hated it. I got 4 bad ones in 3 months that they had to replace because they all did weird things that they couldn't change and the last one only lasted a year. (I know it wasn't user error as I work for a cell phone company). My current is a 6s. I can't hear out of it anymore. So my question is.... iPhone or huawei? I'm really conflicted as I'm a die hard apple fan even though I know all the problems associated with.

  • The camera of Huawei P20 pro will be better after updating it's firmware. The picture of night mode is really good and amazing (very less noise)

  • 3 cameras on the back but still can't beat Pixel phone with a SINGLE CAMERA. Pathetic.

  • Currently, I am using this model, but the earlier version(6GB RAM). I just have 1 comment, this model should come with bigger screen, with the range between 6.5 inches to 6.8 inches(too big is a little bit difficult to hold) ,because with the good camera and nice photo taken, it is pretty good to view or enjoy with a bigger screen.

  • p20 pro is a beast

  • i've noticed how huawei has released very nice cameras for smartphone, but i hate huawei ridiculous "feature" of killing background apps

  • no y no

  • My friend iPhone XS max can't come close to P20 pro camera capalities!

  • iPhone is better in the cpu and maybe the camera

  • After having this phone for a month or so now I have nothing but good things to say about it. The camera is awesome, the operating system is very fast, and the battery, the battery is incredible!!! I am not a heavy user but 3 days on a charge? I absolutely recommend this to anyone and everyone i talk to about phones!!! My understanding of the specs however are 6gb and 128gb storage.

  • It's sorry but there is no SDcard slot on huawei p20 pro..

  • Huawei P20 Pro best or Apple Iphone Xs Max Plz Tell me

  • Done Huawei P20 Pro in India received GPU turbo update?

  • does the Huawei P20 Pro has a card slot for extra memory? With regards to the " dual" model, can I use it to insert a memory card in order to expand the mobile memory?

  • I already dropped it while standing, it fell on the pavement and didn't broke at all (which really did surprise me).

  • No, you won't - it lights up in different colours depending on the app. E.g. for a Viber notification it lights up purple, blue for Facebook etc. It indicates the battery level while charging as well (I've seen orange and green so far).

  • It is not waterproof.. But it is water resistant

  • no

  • Does P20 Pro have wireless charging ?

  • Yes, it's IP67 water and dust resistant

  • sound is good? compare v20/v30?

  • ip67 bro :)

  • Not waterproof? Oh please P30 should be a waterproof!!!

  • Does this mobile support RCS for RJIO operator?

  • Mobile manufacturer are making fool tontheir loyal customers by removing 3.5mm jack and sd card slot in the sense of making their phone slim But reality us they r making their phones ugly and pathetic

  • Yes its has

  • I'd wait... the Mate is supposedly using the new Kirin 980 processor so it's definitely gonna be faster...

  • Does it have Dual Sim Dual Active option?

  • Wait for mate 20 pro or buy the p20 pro.

  • its an amazing phone. cracking camera. amazing low light. but the thing i find hard to understand. iphone 8/9/X and S9. can shoot 4K at 60fps.

  • That's exactly why no radio. Pro phones have no radio becauase iPhone doesn't have it. The chip itself, might actually support radio - but has it disabled :-(

  • It's good. But if you're simply looking for blazing speed and 4000mah battery, consider the F1 pocophone SD845 at less than half the price. Or if looking for a good camera, get an old Samsung S7 for a similar reduced price. Below USD300, it's hard to find good stuff. You could consider a Moto G6 plus for a good camera for that price level - but it may have GPS bugs. It easily overheats after less than one hour of GPS use (I've tested 3 such models).

  • It was revealed that USA inserted backdoors in US electronic products, but only for specific targeted users by intercepting postal shipments. So I assume neither US nor Chinese products have general built-in backdoors on all units shipped. These products are under so much scrutiny, that I assume it would be detected if they were. USA has banned Chinese products for government use. I assume this is out of fear that China will use the same postal intercept method, that the USA has used towards other nations.

  • " two pieces of Gorilla Glass 5 assembled with an aluminum frame" Yes, according to this article:

  • It have Chinese backdoors, both with NSA Android backdoors.

  • Does Huawei P20 pro having Gorilla Glass ?

  • For this price they should have provided Quad HD 2K display !

  • Four Huawei smartphone models have been delisted from independent benchmark service UL after they were found to be producing artificially high and misleading benchmark scores. 1/ P20 2/ P20 Pro 3/ nova3 4/ honor play

  • Does the fact that this phone is produced by a Chinese company make it more likely to have a backdoor?

  • You'll need to use a third party app

  • No.

  • Does it have a multi color notification led?

  • same here

  • Does the P20 Pro have gorilla glass?

  • get it, its worth it. Its the best phone now in the world. Camera is professional quality. And the phone is fast, brilliant for gaming. just cant recommend it enough.

  • You won't be disappointed when you can afford it. I've had this phone for the past week and I'm loving it. Call quality and loudness are superb, performance is smooth, and if you're bored of samsung or apple, you will enjoy emui with its custom themes. And of course, the cameras speak for themselves.

  • This is my dream phone but I have no money for it :(

  • Came from samsung, iphone and lg flagship phone. This is my fevorite phone I ever had, the camera is superb

  • looks like an iphone rip off but at least its an android and not apple

  • unconfirmed source in alza.cz says that release date was moved on 13.09.

  • New expected release date for 8/256 version?

  • I sure hope the price goes down black friday.

  • Try to update.whats your fb id so that I can know the matter cz I'm going to buy this phone although price is high

  • price is higher.50 $ high.so I have to go one plus 6 silk white.sad for me

  • The price is very high

  • HAHAHAHA no zoom capability , its the only phone that gives you 3x zoom without losing image quality, please stop being a hater

  • No head phone jack, really?

  • Look at the price. The captive market of the phone are not the ones who stay at home who listens to radio all day. Generally, people who buy these kinds of phones have internet access. They listen to Spotify. They watch YouTube and Netflix. These people don't bother for the FM radio. Get the point?

  • Man Radio you can use 1000 of App .... take it easy ;)

  • Best phone out there that has a really decent quality camera and is affordable for the tech on board. It's also good to see Huawei trying something different, which is more than can be said for Apple and Samsung. I don't like the notch on this, but at least you can turn it off.

  • No FM radio? Why? Really, why? Not that the radio is sooo important, but, really, why no radio? What's the problem? No free space on the motherboard? Come on, it is "pro" phone! And still, no radio ... :-)

  • My old phone caught me checking out the P20 Pro on it, got jealous and froze on me!

  • This phone is one of final reasons for me to consider smaller phone and another OS. I liked the phone, and despite what everyone says about camera - camera looks... artificial to me. Images aren't looking real. Built quality is another HUGE downside. Despite the phone being ugly - home button like on S7 with notch of iPhoneX, and third camera being lower while top ones protrude (I mean really Huawei?) - it is not even durable. Phone was working as fluid as it can in those 7 days I had it. It took a single drop from chest height for it to break. Both front and back panels. Despite having a case... I sold that rubble for 300€ to a guy who can fix it himself and bought iPhone SE (which is as much as you can get for 300€) and I'm happy with it.

  • yeah! price is so high that it's illogical to buy when there are many flagship phones.100$ is much.so turn to 1+6.and what abt Samsung, it serves us by cutting our pocket by unfair means pricing, do does apple.

  • k

  • Do you really have any idea what you are talking about?? The things you are complaining about are actually the strengths of this phone.

  • The battery doesn't last longer than other flagships even though it should. Also pretty lame how that 40mp is there without any zoom capability.

  • Few days ago i got GPU Turbo update for my P29 pro, Though im not a gamer but i feel my phone became blazing fast then before, I love my internet browsing experience specially Also my screen on time increased from 6 hours to 7 hours... Its GPU Turbo update is just awesome

  • I think you should consider Galaxy S9 Plus or Wait for Huawei Mate20 Pro launch (October) which will dafinatly a beast with Mattel Body. No doubt p20pro is also a game changer but it lacks basic thing)(no headphone jack, no SD card slot, no gorilla glass protection). S9 plus has all ingredients of a perfect smartphone with all basic and advance stuff only downside is it's battery life I think.

  • Please can you update the ring output you state. This phone is nowhere near 91 db. !! Very misleading for someone who wants a phone with good volume on it.

  • P20 pro cam has no zoom when you take pics with 40 mp. It's stupid.

  • huawei definetly better

  • I'm going to get a new phone 2 days from now so I need opinions. Should I go for P20 pro or Samsung Note 9(overprice I know). I'm currently a Note 2 user which mean either one of this phone is going to be a huge upgrade for me. There's a pro and cons on both of them (Of course). Can anyone tell me about the durability of p20 cause I keep hearing about the p20 pro being too fragile and cracks/bend easily and it worries me. I drop my note 2 countless times on the pavement on the glass side and nothing happens. and yes the p20 got glass back. I'm ready to jump ship to huawei but its durability is a concern. And the selfie camera sucks (overexposed everything) but my god the rear camera is a Beast. How's the battery? Is it as good on paper? So I need help/opinions. Please

  • there is no such thing as the best phone in the world. Today consumers are spolit for choice. Granted the P20 Pro has the best camera for now. Until another company brings something better bigger which will always. So the best phone in the world is the one thats right for your situation.

  • Huawei P20 Pro, One Plus 6 and S9 are the best phones out there right now.

  • Go for OnePlus 6. His camera isn't bad, but it cannot compare with triple camera that Huawei P20 Pro have. Its just trash compare with his night shots and low light performances.

  • I don't gaming with phone, but little bit work with spreadsheets. Important that would be good camera, no lags when work with browser, graphic (like navigation osmand+, google my maps). How about S9? S9 size i think much comfortable.

  • If you don't care that much about camera, go for OnePlus 6. Its at least THREE TIMES faster than P20 Pro. I am not saying that OP6 camera is bad, but its not just good as P20 Pro. I personally had both phones, right now in my pocket is P20 Pro, because I need perfect camera for my job. But in terms of speed, multi-tasking OP eats Huawei for breakfast. Also battery life goes into P20 Pro favor, if someone cares about SOT. On OnePlus maximum that I got was 7 hours. On P20 Pro maximum that I got was 12 hours, which was insane.

  • Unfortunately it imitates a lot to iPhone X related to its screen, however, camera and the WHOLE phone works so much better than iPhone X.

  • Impossible to find out best choice buy phone..... All have own positive/negative criterion.. 1.Wait for Apple 11, and then buy X, it will be little bit cheaper, than now. 2.Samsung galaxy S9? S9+ too big for my and my life activities. 3. Huawei P20 Pro?

  • Please update LTE bands if you can.

  • P20 pro is good but it’s not waterproof like Samsung s9 or s9 plus also p20 pro is rip off of Samsung as for iPhone X battery is poor should have put 3200mah battery in it then it would be better

  • I have tried all the latest phone the iphone x the s9 and the s9+ and the p20 and the p20 Pro the order of what one is best is as follows P20 PRO S9+ P20 S9 IPHONE X The iPhone x is the worse out of them all the design I like but everything else is just another iPhone the same with the s9 and the s9+ and the p20 and the p20 pro are best value for money as it does everything the s9 and s9+ can do but its a lot cheaper

  • Best phone on market have tried the s9 and the p20 and the p20 pro in terms of camera these phones are by far the best cameras the s9 is good but not as good as the p20 pro or the normal p20

  • Correct. Glass will crack or shatter. It's called misuse of you drop it. If you drop your glass or cup, do you expect it to bounce back. ayy lmao

  • well that problem is now fixed with the system update introducing 'gpu turbo' to the phone, that gives you an app called 'game suite', which you can activate an option that avoids those touches while gaming. only with 4 or 5 home button touches, you can exit the games.

  • buy s9+ guaranteed phone

  • Alcatel

  • cool

  • dslr captures real images. this phone captures paiting images in short not natural.

  • This phone is just like a compact DSLR camera for me. Everything about it is wonderful. HOWEVER, there is 1 problem. The home button. It get so annoying when you play games like ML or PUBG in landscape mode, than your hand or skin accidentally hit the home button and you are out from the game.Does anyone facing the same issue?

  • Súper cool

  • combination..yes...but the kirin 970 gpu surpasses all..ONLY the GPU

  • True dual 4g Volte simultaneously ..or one at a time?

  • YES : )

  • I look at it this way. in my experience on Samsung phones. If you want a good looking and great design. With over heating cpu's, same design each year. And yes bloatware then get a Samsung. I used absolutely love Samsung watch all the shows and launches. Then got the products. Shame. thats why there nick name is Samesung. I Have had a S4/S5/S6/S7 and the difference is the number on each model. I just think the mobile market is saturated with similar looking phones. I fancied a change why i got a Huawei and not looking back. ok EMUI 8.1 is a bit pants looking. but the P20 pro is outstanding and worthy of the best phone in the world accolade. Shame all phone dont come as Vanilla Android OS

  • Except cpu/gpu combination.

  • Glass shatter. That is normal. It should be more scratch resistant but it will crack.

  • Not really. Oppo is a king for me. No notch no bezel. Pure screen.

  • S9+ defo. Unless you are crazy photo maniac. P20 pro gpu performance is so bad. Ive had it one day but could not play pubg mobile properly. Went back to Pixel 2 XL.

  • huawei always making good things on paper....but in the real use? s9+ is the best phone

  • Switched from S7 edge to P20 pro. The phone is truly amazing. No lag at all, super snappy and the camera is above everything else on the market. I am very heavy user and still have 20% left at the end of the day whereas I had to charge my Galaxy twice a day. I am very happy with my Twilight beast !

  • where the hell is check picture quality button

  • I can honestly say this Device is amazing. The best camera phone on the market. Huawei are now currently the second best smartphone manufacturers in the world. And that will change. Samsung, Apple, and so on are all good at what they do. And its nice to own an amazing camera phone.

  • that be why P20 Pro gets DXOmark highest score as the best camera phone on the market. LOL

  • s9 plus is better than p20 pro but xz2 premium is best check this

  • I'm not sure this is the best android phone of the year but one thing for sure it's better then S9 and most important thing I care about is 'No Bloatware!' and the 4000mAh battery!

  • P20 pro is a better option

  • The stupidest phone i’ve never seen. Using notch when you have home button. Notch is used to make full bezelless phone. Huawei and oneplus are real copycat brands. The only and best andro brand is samsung. The note 9 is easily the best mobile this year as usually

  • Which one of them should I buy? Mate 10 pro or P20 pro.

  • i had a iphone x, sold it for a oneplus 6. less than a month of using the 6 sold it for p20 pro. why? -ip67 rating -better camera -bigger battery -stereo speakers

  • Having owned the phone for nearly 6 months now, I can say it is a good phone, a very good phone, battery is amazing, and the last couple of days, its been very bad, normally i wouldnt do anything and it lasts, now, i dont do anything and it goes down, like normal phones, kinda worrying.

  • It's the best phone I've ever used, super snappy, the ai is always learning, camera is unbelievable good especially at night.

  • Well let me give you a example. I have a S7 Edge, dropped it once in my life on the sidewalk. It had a glass protection on top... both Glass protection and Corning Gorilla Glass cracked in 2 different locations. Dropped it from pants pocket level. So my opinion is that the Gorilla Glass at this point may be a bit over rated.

  • HA..where..Huawei P20 PRO has surpassed the S9 and S9 pro by far...by price...by battery life..and definitely by camera...and by software optimization with the CPU...also a better UI than Samsung

  • Huawei is very stable, reliable and cost less than Samsung.

  • I have been buying Samsung years until note 7 the "EXPLOSIVE" , they are sucks, not only over price and phone becomes sluggish after like a year and

  • do you work in samsung?

  • sony xperia xz 2 premium

  • If you want a reliable brand buy Samsung, and if you want a phone that only good on paper buy Huawei . That's it.

  • which one w'll B best buy between S9+ vs p20 pro?

  • everything was perfect but the mobile data is canceled and does not reconnect automatically, I have to activate and deactivate the mobile data at all times to run

  • P20 pro

  • Right

  • it's the best phone, i am using....

  • It is the best fone I ve ever used. Why do we always hype iPhone. Be bold and tell the truth. I swapped my iPhone x for p20 pro. Very fast, beautiful design and home button.

  • leica is a company who introduce Huawei phones camera

  • Leica is the brand.

  • What does the leica optics mean? What does it do?

  • I don't understand why Huawei are not covering theirs flagship phones with Corning gorilla glass like in Samsung oppo HTC etc.

  • DUMPED an iPhone X for a P20 Pro. The 3 Lens 40MP LEICA designed Camera, the BIG 4,000 MAH Battery & the FAST Supercharging (0-59% in 30 minutes!) are AWESOME! My only regrets: 1) didnt get the "Twilight" version 2) buying an iPhone X in the first place ($1150!).

  • S9 plus. Much better screen n almost everything better accept cam.

  • Buy Huawei P20pro - after 3 weeks using - the camera is amazing - the only reason to buy Huawei P20pro is the camera - if you dont need it - buy most beautiful one :) the both are powerfull enought.

  • The oneplus 6

  • Guy's please suggest me...which phone will be better between p20 pro vs s9 plus..?

  • I wanna buy a phone... please anyone suggest me...which phone will be better between s9 plus vs p20 pro..?

  • Not realy its better than Iphone X, and even not more powerfull, just more rams.

  • this phone is better than iPhone X because the spec of this phone is extremely awesome than iphone X that actually sell the brands name

  • Does it have on the go USB?

  • hello you can download from playstore

  • So, you really need to buy not two but three in order for you to arrive to those comments huh? Very annoying Bot....haha

  • I Picked up a P20 Pro today, without doubt it's a good phone, I am upgrading from a Sony Z5 Premium(also a great phone btw) so, the speakers are very good, the camera is great too, its very responsive and the set-up process with the clone phone app was a doddle, copied over 20Gb of data and installed 130 apps in under an hour. Definitely worth considering over a samsung(personal ahtred involved as i had a dog of an s4 that samsung couldn't fix or wouldn't replace) The new sony is awful to hold/look at and the google pixel is way too expensive. This phone seems to have it covered just people don't like the brand.

  • - 74 mm width is unusable for people lower of 180 cm. 67 mm is the limit for average person. - No 2160p60 recording. - No microSD slot for video recording. - No wireless charging. - Poor, too narrow fingerprint scanner. Round P20 lite scanner is better, yet positioned way too high, for 190cm+ persons. - Limited VoLTE support. Huawei VoLTE only works in few countries with limited set of operators. Huawei bans VoLTE from usage in most countries and most operators.

  • brilliant phone. Fast, powerful and the camera is simply brilliant. The S9/S9+ in comparison are in the same ball park with specification.

  • In what aspects is the S9 plus powerful than the P20 pro apart from only screen which you can't even notice the difference in real life usage???

  • No

  • Yet more expensive

  • Then please tell me which is best phone according to u..

  • Should I go with galaxy s9 plus or huawei p20 pro.. Guys help

  • Of course s9. It's much powerful and better then p20 pro.

  • Anyone know does this phone cover gorilla glass protection????????

  • Which one best for buying Samsung Galaxy s9 plus or huawei p20 pro

  • This phone is awesome! 3 Rear Cameras with 40 MP? It's just AWE!

  • P20 Pro vs S9 (not S9 plus). Which one and why?

  • Sorry to hear that you cannot achieve what others can from this phone.

  • When I take pictures with this smartphone I watch them amazed. This pictures are the best (in my opinion). Night shots are so illuminated and with lots of detail. The 4000maH battery also gets you juice all day long. Stereo speakers with dolby audio are grat too, same as the AMOLED screen. The only thing I DO NOT like is EMUI. So much outdated, much bloatware and has lots of lags and stutters. I hope Huawei changes this with more Stock appearence like OnePlus or Motorola.

  • Nope, only IR blaster has that ability and only Huawei phones still have them. IR port can't do that

  • Does anyone know what is the window.devicePixelRatio of this device? Thank you!

  • Best Built quality?no Best camera?no Best in night?yes but not every time I can tell this because I have 3 of this phone and I am disappointed. The camera is capture it’s like there’s an auto beautification into it. The shoots are not natural at all. Even using manual and having it at raw. This is also the a phone that is easily forgotten. That was fast to be forgotten.

  • May I know what's the difference between IR port and IR blaster.? If any phone have IR port , can.I.use it as remote for tv?

  • I want P30 pro

  • Again, you are comparing P20pro with several phones not one phone. You say that Apple and IOS is better than p20pro but iphone has same problems. Non expandable storage, no headphone jack etc. And it it not true that huawei doesn't have video stabilization - you are making it up. Problem is only shooting at 4K. Normal video stablization HD FHD FHD+ works great. ANd yeah SD845 is a bit better, but you cant tell that wiht normal daily use. On the other hand, premium build, best photo camera, best nightmode camera, best battery life - why didn't you mention that???

  • There is no best phone but better for your needs. If you love shooting photos with quality images, go for P20 pro. If you concern about phone speed, oneplus 6 or s9+ is your choice. I have owned p20 pro for 2 months. I love the camera, especially shooting Raw in pro mod. And the battery is incredibly good. However, I am disappointed with the 128Gb memory. It is not enough for photos and videos collector.

  • Every category except for Performance (Beat by Snapdragon and Apple's high-end processors), Skin (User Interface is a copy of IOS), Screen quality (Just decent but not spectacular or outstanding like Samsung's), Lack of Headphone Jack, Lack of Card Slot for Expandable Storage and Video Camera (NO Optical Image Stabilization that makes video output look hideous). Yeah, sure it's the best.

  • You can buy it for C$900 in Canada. It's the best phone on the market right now in every category.

  • I dissagree. I think this phone is great. It lasts me longer than any other phone i had (battery) and anyone who watches alot of youtube in bed will agree that is great ;). Camera is great. I give you that 4k video shakes if you move cuz it has no 4k vid stabilization. But FHD video is awessome! Build quality is also great. It is funny that u compare its build quality with other phines and than u mention video stabilization and included headphones :):):). I think that headphones are very solid. And u can buy great earphones on ebay for few bucks if u want anyway. And u also say that frontfacing fingerprint is bad????? Why? Is it slow?-no, is it inprecised?-no? Does it nkt function?-no. So u are just trashtalking cuz it is not nice in your personal opinion. I for one like it a lot, and it has also swipepad on it. Also, whay are some people saying tah p20pro doesnt have face id uncolk???? It does. I think 90% people who are writing bad comments didn't even held this phone in hand :):):) trols lols ;). If u want this phone, go and get it, it is great flagship!

  • Amazing Phone.... Camera is light years ahead of competition. I never trust marketing but when i used it then I was really amazed with the results. Battery life is another thing to love . Its absolutely monster . Recommended anyone who wants a fantastic device . EMUI is not for everyone, so Nova launcher is must for them .

  • Agree, and front camera.is aswell not so good.

  • The phone is not so bad, but if you compare with Samsung or Apple, the quality is horrible. Example: Galaxy S9 Super Slow Motion is awsome, P20 Pro super slow motion is trash. No 3.5mm port, no Stabilization on 4K video, No 60@fps 4K Video, No wireless charging, No Corning Gorilla Glass protection at all, No face or Iris recognition, Copyed design from Apple, Harmfull Headphones inbox (S9 has AKG included) and this absolutely strange buttion with fingerprint on face side of device

  • Come on , I can play all games in My G6 , Obviously you are going to be able to play all games with this beast and its net GPU turbo technology

  • Thats genuine review. Ya definitely not the best.

  • Back camera is awesome (outdoor shoots) , front camera is sucks the phone may easily overheat yet good performance since not much app downloaded , battery life is cool!!! fast charging as well easily get heat though 6gb ram hahaha,,,, GOOD PHONE DEFINITELY NOT THE BEST!

  • Samsung's Galaxy S9 and S9+ have it. lol. So does the LG V30/35. It's a valid thing to have during natural disasters. We're in 2018 and I still love the IR Blaster. It really helps in a pinch at times.

  • best camera so far

  • Lol .. Its a flagship from 2018, do u think they will put a Radio on the device?

  • What's the cost of P20 pro?

  • And.. why not including a 3,5 mini jack port?? and Radio FM???

  • Help me choosing between p20 pro and oneplus 6 thanks

  • Definitely my next phone

  • that durability test made me laugh. Great video btw.

  • No doubt it a real monster device, I use it since more than a month and I prefer it over other major flagships.. However, recently and after I loaded all my regular apps and connected to my cloud providers, I realized that there are moments when it absolutely lose every muscle and it will me almost dead as of it is an old generation even before the Android.. That's when I don't have fast response from applications.. Screen touch.. GPS or simply calling a phone number.. It become a different machine.. I still observe this new tging to confirm if it is a network failure, overheat or sun beams and storms that may affect IT gadgets from working properly on hot weather and outdoors.. CAN ANYONE HELP AND ADVISE??

  • this phone is amazing

  • This phone have notification lights?

  • I am new at this forum but (only reason) using Google Camera app since first nexus device due to its photo ashpher 360.. No other camera offers this feature .

  • Depends, do you live in the USA?

  • No. Download the official .apk and you got a plain camera app. No HDR+, the essential feature and the reason why we need Google Camera. There is no similar engine that compete HDR+. DRO isn't that great. I see you're so new to this forum theme.

  • is this better than the s9? which should I buy ive been on iPhone for years but wanting a change

  • I have used the Huawei P20 Pro (Black) since it was release in March. In my opinion, the cons are: the brightness is fine, yet when I use it at night and turn the brightness down the phone does not dim as much as I would like it. The camera is the best on the market; however, when taking photos using the front-facing camera it automatically turns to "portrait" mode and this mode uses too much blur and in times when I don't want it to, if you want less or no blur you have to then further switch to a different mode. Another is there is no headphone jack, this may not be a huge issue. The battery life is amazing though not the best. All other features of this phone in my opinion and some in fact this phone the best phone on the market, besides "special edition/limited edition" phones like the Porsche variant of this phone.

  • It is possible to install Google Camera Just Download APK i am using Google camera in P10

  • I read your comment here and then went to a store to check this out and I was very surprised that you are indeed right. I was not able to take a proper close up shot, it does not do the focus at all and so it is blurry. You need to be at least 15 cm away from your subject to be able to take a good quality shot. Maybe using the zoom could solve the problem, but still! Why isn't it said on any review? A chance that I tried that before buying it. Of course otherwise the camera is great, but it is a big turn off that you can't even take macro shots

  • It does have, called as Huawei Histen. Please, try harder.

  • It does have eq built in, you can find it in Settings.

  • Better not to buy Huawei phones. It doesn't have equalizer like in Samsung.

  • How can u return used phone?

  • Its okay.. Beauty is subjective

  • its not that good i was expecting ,, only the back color is brilliant nothing more.

  • GSMArena , i would propose please do some review with closeup and macro comparison with P20 Pro with other rivals. for the time i am going to replace or return my one.. :( bye bye P20 pro

  • amazing

  • Its just marketing gimmick Phone.. When taking closeup or macro pics its really bad , blurry and pixalate. Sammy is far doing good in closeup and mackro shots.

  • This phone is not so good and premium built as you probably think. Check durability test from JerryRigEverything and you will see what I mean. And by the way, I had a chance to compare it face to face to S9+ (owned by my brother) and XZ2 (I own it) and it is sad that phone with 40MP can not produce better photos (sharpnes, colour and even noise) than other two phones with "normal" camera lens. It's not worth 850 eu.

  • Well, this is phone has the biggest cam sensor ever placed on modern smartphones in this last 2 years. But sadly the biggest thumbs down for this phone is the fact that it equipped a Kirin chipset, hence you can't install a Google Camera so it would be a camera monster, since the noice reduction in the phone's camera app is so aggressive that it reduces a lot of detail especially in the low light, which is kinda waste for a big sensor that they equip.

  • Ever heard of backups ? Seems like not

  • Have you heard about google drive?

  • then why want to use a smart phone ??? if turn off everything ???

  • Hi i got your point, however are you familiar with online back ups? Like google drive? Why are you dwelling to the small problem of the phone why dont you maximize it? Dont tell me you dont have gmail acct?

  • unrealistic and oversaturation on AI capturing mode. build quality and repair score below average.

  • Good phone in general. Always On Display is terrible. It just shows clock, battery, date and missed calls. Not even messages and not 3rd party apps like Whatapp or Facebook messenger. AOD is almost useless

  • Huawei P20 PRO are really a very very GOOD phone. As I am SONY Fan Smartphone... but this Huawei P20 / 20PRO nearly break my Loyalty. It's really a waste of technology that Huawei Just miss an very very important issue about the PHONE tech as it have mention it's for Professional. THE MOST Important miss-out was "MEMORY CARD SLOT". Is that that new Era not any changes in demand but it's the Smartphone are build for Professional Photographer which must think of NEED's. If the unit have an upgrade/Extended MEMORY SLOT, as my opinion that HUAWEI really kill the market technology. When the unit are build for professional which very sure Memory Slot are require. There in the Technology Industries which NON of the electronic product can GUARANTEE the Re liabilities of their creation. If happen the unit was so great as Consumer sure will use for 90% capture photo. What happen if the photo capture was store internal storage as the unit fail to function. It will make more disappointment on the person as know time / environment cannot be recall. It will be different as say the unit fail to function , consumer still can retrieve the Memory card and get the most value photo they have capture to be save to another location. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT and BELIEVE IS OVERLOOK features. SAD of such small features that been remove from the Unit.

  • Does it have equalizer in music so that i can listen bass song. I find some Huawei like mid range phone don't have equalizer.

  • Few problems I face on my P20 Pro are: 1. No MiscroSD card slot 2. No OIS in 4k Videos 3. No 3mm Audio Jack 4. Previous Gen Processor Kirin970 (Snapdragon 845 would have been better) All other things are just fine. :)

  • Nahhh that is just your opinion, people buy it for one main reason, camera. And its one of the best right now (if u know how to do it). Low lights shots and Night Mod from this P20 Pro camera are unbeatable right now. What? Wait for Pixel 3 to destroy it? By that time, Mate 20 will come out as well with improved camera, using high performance Kirin 980 that Snapdragon doesnt have an answer yet. Bye.

  • Why offer single or double but not hybrid sim, so no memory expansion. The p20 lite can store have more storage for ~$60 retail ridiculous to offer dual sim but not hybrid, or single and not a micro sd slot has well.

  • how durable is this phone?lol lack of 4k ois for price range nah and from a chinese company using chinese materials. i will just buy other brands out there. the 40mp is a not good as in past 5-6 years ago. i suggest to those people who wants to buy this think twice. save money

  • it is better to buy other brands and model than this one. its shame that i attrack by its 40mp but its expectation vs reality. its the only 40mp that its look like your wear make ups and photos like uses to much effects to it. its no natural. its killing my eyes.

  • Its not a phone,it is a bomb,it will blast at any tym

  • No wireless charging ?

  • Yeah, they're making your clone as we speak. Just send them saliva and say goodbye to life, since Apple will sell the new iHuman XD

  • Totally! It's always nice to try out different products. And this phone is a beast. It's called the Apple of Android, and it improves on every aspect of iPhones except for notch design, one handed use, software, and a few other niggles and annoyances. But otherwise, you get a solid phone for a good price. Try it out and if you don't like it, you could always go back to IPhone or try out cleaner builds of Android.

  • Honestly, while I do like Sony, I just don't get why they bring fuel to the fire of hate on Sony by doing that in unrelated articles. Like, dude, you trying to kill the little popularity they have left and be given a worse reputation than Apple Sheep?

  • Honestly I dont like this in terms of accounts. HuaweiID can not customized because I live in the Philippines. Its just like Samsung pay and Apple pay isnt available here.

  • What category of LTE-A does it use?

  • yeah? atleast im not a sonyb0y who tries to promote his dying favorite brand at huawei's and samsung's sections.

  • Best of Camera phone Top rating on DxoMark. and Big battery for joyful the last day. but.. i don't like home button.

  • When you promoting something you also brain wash people. I am not going to trust you.

  • I found "you again" is the perfect word to use to describe the 2 marks of repair score and no more than that, except the fans will thinking Huawei is the best and always perfect!

  • Thanks alot bro. Ill must try what you described in detail🤗

  • Is it worth for us changing iphone to tis product?? Im thinking now to change

  • just buy xiaomi product better than this brand and consumer friendly.

  • 1. Turn off your location information (GPS). This consumes a lot of battery. 2. Settings > Apps & Notifications > Enable only what apps you mostly needed. 3. Settings > Display > Brightness click Automatic 4. Settings > Display > Sleep > Set it to 15 secs inactivity 5. Make sure that your Bluetooth, Mobile Data, Wifi were all turned off whenever you are not using them. 6. Settings > Battery > Screen Resolution > Set it to Smart 7. Settings > Battery > App Launch > Select only those Apps you needed most 8. Make sure you always Clean up your phone > Phone Manager > Optimize and Clean Up 9. Phone Manager > Click the icon % Battery Remaining > Optimize Battery Usage 10. Turn off ringing & Notifications vibrations (if you don't need it most).

  • a 12mp is .1 close to this 40mp. shame. 40mp 2018 is not even close to a 40mp in the past.

  • my low end dslr cont cope up with this phone. i have only one phone that can be close to my low end dslr. this device is not worth it.

  • My P 20 pro's battery is draining fast with just 4-hours of maximum screen on time ... My Current software version is 8.1.0.128 Plz anyone help me to avoide from battery drain issues... Or anyone else facing poor battery problems???

  • Just switched from iPhone 6S Plus and 7 Plus to P20 Pro after 2 years with Apple product. Good phone. Good Camera Love customization (iPhone was super-bad in this) Love super-charging. Fingerprint and Face sensor work brilliantly. Iphone used to be brilliant with iOS and software stability until recent iOS 11 which performs really badly.

  • one of the good phone this year!!!! "YOUNG JV" RULES

  • Phone has been sold with very good specs but the quality of the screen is worst and response in service center is also not very good. Paying this big money for a phone of such poor quality screen is not advisable.

  • Phone has been sold with very good specs but the quality of the screen is worst and response in service center is also not very good. Paying this big money for a phone of such poor quality screen is not advisable.

  • The screaming difference is the additional 128GB built in memory for Mate 10 PD (no MC slot as well) for a whooping 500 Euros. -,-

  • This phone is very good and exceptional except one major problem and that's expandable micro SD card slot. If you compare this phone with Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design, you will realize what I am saying, though there are some other exceptional features as well. I can buy 128/256 GB micro SD card at a much lower price than compared to the built-in storage of this phone.

  • huwaei's service center is better than sony's. in reality, no one can repair your xperia. xperia = overpriced + bad service

  • 2 score from the repair test, you still love it? So take care of you beloved phone, don't bother me just take your phone don't go for repair..

  • Thank you for the response. Truly appreciate it.

  • Thank you so much for the infos. Truly aprreciate you man.

  • Still early days but so far this is much better than the S8 I upgraded from. Battery life is excellent. Camera is very good for a phone.(Still no comparison to compact system or dslr sorry for all that say it is )I have many dslr bodies (bigger sensors) and lenses (superior optic properties) Speakers are excellent Doesn't get anywhere near as hot in use v samsung.

  • Just like shoes, socks and even glasses these items are not tailor made just like smartphones. Every human is different right? so how can you expect phone or Laptops to be the same or high powered devices. End of the day i think up coming smartphones should have a cooling system like laptops, gaming consoles and Pc. To the subject The HUAWEI P20 PRO 1.Top NOTCH cameras 2. Superb Battery life span 3.Crazy download (no heating up) 4.No apps closing/crashing 5.DSLR PHOTOS I have used android back in the days and i can say they lacked for years since then apple took place, but now once again android has come a long way and slowly but surley.

  • i used the following iphones: 3 ** 3g *** 4 **** 5 *** 6 **** 6s plus **** 7 plus **** still Apple is wack they are terrible they have apps crashing and closing they spy on you,(i was talking to agent and soon after some of my apps were not working) no freedom of customization. They make their phones that will last you max 3-5 years. You talk about Apple many hidden things we can see but we ignore like to logo looks like and apple bitten actually there's a phone hidden. Anyway i have had it with them they are simply rubbish and they control your paid device, if you don't believe all this then you are sleeping. 1. Company controls your device 2. Company records every comversation you have with SIRI (iris=eye=one-eye=illumaniti) 3. Siri is terrible 4. Face id your must rotate your head like a fool and slow 5. Rubbish updates 6. Rubbish battery 7. they control everything on your phone (battery) 8. They track your location Im not bashing Apple but trust me they are collecting human information and personally i dont want my phone company doing that

  • Hey bro, You shouldn't go by what people say about the world greatest camera phone, yes there's a lot of competition in the industry. 1.Supreme camera 2.Amazing battery life 3.Games and apps run smooth what more can people ask for? The simple answer DSLR CAMERA AND AMAZING BATTERY thats all im gonna say

  • Yeah yeah deep fake reviews u made. Please use 10mp supersample resolution in camera settings. Turn off Master AI for more natural and best results. Did your 19mp Sony camera have 5x hybrid lossless zoom? Can your 19mp Sony camera keep up with P20 pro low lights camera? Did your 19mp Sony camera have blurless handheld 4 seconds Night mode pictures? Can your Sony phone keep up with P20 pro 4000mah battery life? Did your Sony have the amoled screen like P20 pro? Did your Sony system software phone have AI integration features to improve your battery life day by day usage? Care to explain what deep reviews u make for your assumption? Cause its funny.

  • the worst phone that i buy. i buy 3 of this phone and i deep reviewed it for 2months already, its worst. the 40mp of this its like a 19mp of my sony. to much gaming makes the phone super hot and lags are there. xioami is the best chinese phone maufacturer. like the black shark.

  • P20 Pro or S9+?

  • I recently switched from the iPhone 7 plus to the P20 PRO, in regards to performance of the apps its great, google chrome responds very well as do all the other apps i.e Facebook, Whatsapp & others. Still trying to get my head around the camera options available but no doubt when ive got it, it will top notch

  • you again. it looks more professional than the fatty xperia (except the notch).

  • this phone looks elegant. the flat back and the position of camera is good

  • good phone

  • I have it as a daily driver for a month now. I think the phone is great. Works fast in every situation regardless how much multitasking do u do. Cam is great with or without AI turmned on. Battery lasts looong enough. Didn't freeze once and I have ton of apps on it. All i all, I would highly recomend it. And as u said - price is good for this kind of a phone. I dont record much video in 4k, but in 4k stabilization isnt best. But in FHD you can shake it and video recording is still.

  • Huawei video apps very bad.. Freeze!!! Battery drain so fast

  • Notch is fine with me, I dont watch a lot of yt videos. But also you have the option to hide to notch. But I dont feel there is a need to upgrade from Mate 10 Pro to P20 Pro for now. P20 Pro have only slightly better night pictures from Mate.

  • So how do you categorize P20 Pro then? -,- Or should I ask, do you even know what is a flagship model phone or you haven't own any?

  • Nope.

  • nokia x6 !

  • just confused either the Huawei P20 pro or the Nokia X6

  • you have to be kidding the i[phone has a terrible camera

  • no

  • Hi all, I am planning to purchase P20 pro by the end of this month. I just wanna know if there are users here that can give me feedbacks or observations regarding the P20 Pro as their daily driver? Which regards to performance when browsing, multi-tasking, email, whats app, google maps, etc. Because I am an apple user and one reason I wanted to shift with P20 Pro is bcoz of its promising camera quality and speed performance since it says its 6GB Ram. also the multi window option since I always use two app at the same time for work like whatsapp and fb messenger. Plus the price as for flagship is way better than S9+ and Iphone X. Also regarding glitches on google maps? is it true on P20 Pro? Thanks guys in advance.

  • P20 Pro aren’t an flagship to compare it to other flagship duh.

  • Go for iPhone 7 Plus for a reasons -Better screen . - Better eco system (OS). -Better support at least 5 years same as iPhone 5S. - For gaming and overall performance there’s no comparison between iPhone A Soc and crappy 970 IPhone 7 Plus a LOT better. - Don’t think so there’s a big different in camera performance might be only still photos will looks a tad better on P20 pro camera other than don’t think so cause video quality of P20 Pro are crap including the front facing camera one of the worst I’ve ever seen. - resale value of android phones in general are bad compare to iPhone except Samsun galaxy and note.

  • Overpriced? How about S9 or iPhone X or LG G7 or Sony XZ2? -,-

  • im beginning to like the notch

  • Hi! I am just wondering, what is the reason you regret for choosing Huawei P20 Pro instead of iPhone X? The performance? The camera?

  • cam i play all games on this games

  • Not base on this unbiased review - Apart from 4k video recording, P20 pro camera is still unbeatable. (I prefer picture quality over videos as i take pics daily, video recording maybe once in a month)

  • I hope Mate 20 Pro will get wireless charging & gorilla glass protection, looking forward to it.

  • Try to snap a few 40MP photos of daylight landscapes. They will be far more detailled than the 10MP ones once zoomed in on a computer :)

  • Hi Guys, You all compare Huawei P20.pro to Iphone 7, 7+, 8, 8+ or iphone.X Why don't you try Oneplus 6! You will never ever regret! Too way far compared to Iphone.X and P.20Pro Oneplus 6 beats them all 2018 Top and Best ever Phone. Go and Google then Watch all the Comparisons with other phones in YOUTUBE!

  • Thank you I like this phone..want to buy

  • The repair score is too low: refer the link video, the P20Pro teardown reviews show the main camera have a piece of rubbish bag cushion below it!

  • iPhone 7 holds no candle to almost any other newer phone. Don't get the iPhone 7 unless you just really love iOS.

  • I have P20pro for few weeks and say only good things about it. It is very fast. Multitasking is piece of cake, apps load fast. Camera is great (i think due to lens + software, not 40mpix ;)). Battery life is great so doesnt matter thereis no headphone jack. Display is good, overall quality si very good. If u buy this phone, u wont regret

  • One reason people go for P20 Pro - camera. As for iphone 7 plus, its camera quality the same as my old Honor 8 pro (sometimes even better in low lights) and its half price of the iphone 7 plus. Dont think, P20 pro all the way.

  • I'm using hwawei p20 pro.. Well for me it's not that great.. I was torn between iphone x and p20 pro before but I was pretty amazed with p20 pro that's why I decided to buy this one and I regret it a lot.. A waste of money that a great phone for its price.. Tzk. But we have different opinions soo take it or live it its my ipinion anyway.

  • Does the phone have a notification LED?

  • P20 pro or iPhone 7 plus?

  • It has good characteristics but in my opiniongeneral its an overpriced phone.

  • Nope. The camera aren’t that great as huwia advertised just another gimmick.

  • You obviously don't know what you're talking about. More megapixels doesn't mean it makes better photo's. The Pixel 2 XL still takes just as good if not better photo's than the Huawei P20 Pro with only 12 MP. I'm not saying that the Huawei P20 Pro makes bad photo's but you're argument is just flawed. Unless you want to make canvas sized photo's or do a lot of cropping then the 40 mp is a bit of an overkill but a nice extra none the less.

  • I bought one week ago and I hated it because it was a lot slow especially when opening applications explicitly, medium price phones are much better as performance 😠😠😠

  • P20pro is the only smartphone with camera of 40MP at the moment and ofcourse is better then ani other phone at the market. Number of MP makes difference, others companies are just bullshiting that don't make a difference because they don't have phone with such good camera as P20pro. Marketing bullshit

  • I thougth Leica is not the same as carl zeis

  • Yes, the capitalist market needs a lot of ignorant sheep consumers who can be brainwashed with advertisements (including paid reviews) and will spend their money on useless things. I said the truth, which you don't accept because it hurts you. P10 is a typical useless fashion phone.

  • This phone's camera has the German Leica lens (Carl Zeiss), which is the highest in all lenses ever!! I just got my 4 P20 Pro phones and the images are absolutely gorgeous and the camera is fantastic! I am certain that this phone is currently the best ever smartphone on the market and I have used more than a dozen phones in the last 8 years - from iPhone to HTC, LG, Sony, Samsung, etc.

  • Been waiting for Nokia 9, but havent heard anything on it for a long time. So settled with p20 pro. Best camera got me.

  • Me too! i am hoping they base it around the Mate RS, size, specs etc the Note 9 will be released in Aug which is what the Mate line up usually competes with. hoping they bring the release date forward on the Mate!

  • Need your help guys.. To get mate 10 pro or p20 pro.. I like the mate design but i dont know it p20 pro got more opions or it worth it or not.. What should i go for?

  • I am waiting for Mate 20 Pro which will be released in November. It should be good update from my galaxy s7 edge.

  • the camera is not that best but its good. there are lots of other phones out there that has a better picture quality. just add a.i to those other phones then thats it. and the price of this is high.

  • yes no regret nice phone nice camera with owesome price

  • Buy whatever you want, just don't regret after buying it

  • I recommend one plus 6, its prob the same as this but its easier to get. You have to get from ebay and idk if u can trust it.

  • Well i want a new phone and i dont know what to get i will probably get this one but my eye caught the new oneplus 6 and i dont know what to get i would love some help

  • I doubt that. Xiaomi makes great phones, but Huawei is among largest companies that make networking hardware global. And it is partialy owned by chinese goverment. So i doubt that it isnt chine top brand. Maybe chinese people buy a lots of xiaomi phones, but brand likewise huawei is in top

  • @Sad, please read carefully entire text before u answer to someones post. Especialy if that post (in this case mine) is answer to someone elses post. U are defending P20 pros camera, and so was I. And I do have a P20 pro ;). I respodnded to another users post claiming that P20 pro camera isnt good - I said it was great, but no one normal expects that it can supersed a real professional camera for 2000+ euros.

  • and where did you get that statistics?

  • I recently bought the new Huawei P20 Pro. I like the design, I love the camera, easy to handle the menu. However, I am honestly disappointed with the battery 🙄 fully charged, all the app closed, no notifications allowed, etc. A phone with a battery of4000mA last less than 24 hours with a moderate use like: checking emails, reading news. Another thing I found it very strange is when using the phone to read news, emails, or Instagram the phone gets very warm. Same story with a previous Huawei,P9. Does any of you have the same issue?

  • huawei p20 or p20 pro?

  • Oops, sorry. Looks like I got the wrong rumors. Btw, thanks.

  • Lickely u can feintal most of huawei prentaled apps,if u perform factory reset once- they ll be back again, but u can always deinstal them.

  • Were you running when you were taking those photos? I got all the best shots ever on a Smartphone with the P20 Pro. Are you familiar with stabilizer? Also, it has manual mode if AUTOMATIC does not work for you...I doubt you have one O.O

  • wake up kid. china's no.1 brand isnt Huawei. its Xiaomi for Gods sake. got a friend from main land china and on their ranking : Xiaomi Sammy Apple Huawei

  • There's no such thing as an original Huawei. They're all wannabe replikas.. :))

  • It still performs great, i play in the highest setting and with 60 fps

  • How this phone gpu performance when playing mobile legends in highest setting? Thanks.

  • Ofxourse it is not substitude doe real, 1000 or 2000 euros camera :) if that would be true, all youtubeea likw MKBHD, unbox therapy od Linus woud shoot all their stuff qith mobile phones ;). And size of the screen - juat go and buy bigger phone if thia one ia too small :) it is what it is. 6.1 is is same on all phones

  • Lol are u even sure u got the original set?

  • I got my Huawei P20 Pro a few weeks ago and since I've had it, I have found it to be exaggerated. The camera is the biggest disappointment with images coming out blurred and grainy, that's unacceptable in my opinion. It's no substitute for a real camera. The screen is also a tad too small.

  • I agree. I uninstalled or blocked half apps on my device. I guess they preinstall bunch of apps because they are paid to do so. Same goes for other brands that have Android. Only google pix comes qith stock - maybe that is googles term. But u just remove / block what u dont want / need and u are good to go.

  • I've got this phone in front of me. With Kirin 980 it would be the fastest phone ever. I hate EMUI. It is as horrible, slow and bloated as Touchwiz. I don't want 20 or so useless Huawei apps. I want stock apps, stock launcher, stock app drawer, stock notifications, stock settings. Only non stock apps should be hardware related like Camera, Dolby Atmos and a video player that handles all the popular codecs. Basically HTC sense is best version of Android along with Motorola near stock version.

  • Huawei is China's top smartphone brand, and it might be at the top position right now, I think it because of its own powerful processor, makes Huawei have a beautiful performance.

  • One thing ive noticed..,theres a lot of unusefull and unnecessary system apps installed, that kills the phone memory & performance as well

  • chinese marketing

  • Are you fir real????? U have 2 phones and one is better for you than the oter. And you need to ask others wich to use?? Stop bul*ing people. You are either st*id or you dont own these phones.

  • Buy Galaxy S9+..

  • Hello, how much battery backup you get normally and screen on time etc. please share your experience as I am planning to buy but many say it has battery problems.

  • I have the P20Pro and the OnePLus 5t and I don't know which I should use as daily driver. I have been having problems with P20Pro bluetooth being slow. OnePLus is still blazing fast. I love OnePLus fluidity, but don;t wanna give up P20pro cameras and P67. Any ideas!?

  • I often use GPS on Huawei P20 pro. No problems at all. All works fine. And the battery is the beast. :) I am really satisfied with this GSM. This is my first Huawei phone after many Sony phones.

  • Yeah. I wouldn't be so sure mate. Vodafone UK will be selling the Twilight variant as a single SIM option from last week. So it isn't automatically dual SIM.

  • Best phone I've seen for ages

  • anyone can tell about how gps work? good? bad? how long to catch is there any issues using? like lost signal etc. ;/

  • Who cares?

  • then Pixel 2 XL should have the no.1 spot . You should know that no one can beat Google on software department ! Google can beat all the mobile cams(single, dual, triple) with its(pixel 2XL) one cam . :P

  • You got plenty...

  • this phone is brand new, people are buying it mainly for its triple cameras, do you think it's necessary (and funny) to root such a phone (and loose official firmware support) while thinking rom modders will do a better job at a camera system they have never used on any other phone ? Yes i think so.

  • No offense, but the camera is pretty bad compared to other flagships. I don't understand the hype.

  • 40 MP ....Lyk really

  • Lol u can root the phone without unlock the bootloader, bare in mind for that differences... Unlock bootloader only useful so that u can use custom kernel and custom based rom. As for me, emui is good enough, lots of customisation when people calls it with ugly icon (dude, there are hundreds huawei themes with many icons ui can be selected) really cant understand why people hates it. Also install nova launcher if u dont like it. Yeah, i used to root and unlocked bootloader my previous older phones and plays with it, but not with emui, i rather stay with stock. And that triple camera setup, only stock huawei's rom can fully utilised it while custom or 3rd party app only uses the single rgb sensor. So yeah, go figure.

  • Huawei stopped the bootloader unlock service on their website! If you have a Huawei phone, you can say goodbye to root! One more reason not to buy spying replika brands like Huawei..

  • Is bettet waiting and buy mate model beaucas its weak than the mates model

  • Is it enough for what? ;) it's like asking "does it have battery? Is it enough?" It depends what u need, what u do with data, how u store it etc. For normal use, it is more than enough. If u wanna backup last 5 years of your life, than u need extra storage ;)

  • Twilight is automatically dual SIM. The others aren't, there are single and dual.

  • Its because of the triple camera system makes it champion. 5x hybrid zoom, unbeatable night shot pictures, and yes, its oversharp. Turns off master AI, sharpness becomes acceptable with a very good dynamic range image.

  • How's P20 Pro goin on? Any feedback?

  • yes 128gb

  • HTC U12+ seems bit batter then p20 pro .huawei is sharpen the image with software processing when can be seen on zooming the picture .U12+ should be No1 on Dxomark camera phone in the list not 2nd......HTC deserves more.

  • in the uk is the P20 pro in twighlight colour automatically dual sim? the Huawei website says single sim only available in black or blue

  • does this p20 pro really have 128 gb storage? is it enough?

  • Best phone ever. It can learn IR so I started programing all my devices in to phone like crasy.

  • There is a good glass protection btw. If it does't strictly say last gen gorilla, that doesn't mean that it isn't gorilla or any other strong glass. And any phone regardless ofbrand gets slowerby time. Apple, Huawei, Samsung etc. New OS, bloatware and simillar stuff makes any phone slower ;)

  • If I'm not wrong, u get stabilization on 1080p, onlz on 4k doesnt work.

  • Hello, guys a request for all users please let me know how much battery backup you get average and how much time it takes to fully charged...as in normal use like 4 hours of music 3 hours of screen of time bluetooth, wifi and data mostly off but alwas distplays is on, 2 hours of talk time my phone lasted 38 hours and my bundled quick charger takes about 2 hours 20 minutes to fully charge it so I applied for a replacement. So are these normal or i really had a faulty phone?

  • all phone hardware degrades over time.

  • This will not be changed after apdate. Also there is no good protection glass for the phone. And the huawie hardware will become poor by the time. I haded p9 and mate 8. I prefer you go for samsung s9 or even oppo

  • China mainland alredy in market for P20 pro 256gb.

  • There is 256g/6G to order in Aliexpress. Why this site didn't mention?

  • Its not a Samsung phone. So no issue of any lag.

  • Hey, I am searching about Huawei P20 Pro vs S9+. I am impressed Huawei's still images! Except headphone jack, i may think p20 pro. BUT i see there's no stabilization on 1080p 60fps. I dont really use 4k but HOW can not be 1080-60? I want to ask a big question. Can Huawei fix this stabilization thing with a software update? Or is it cannot changeable?

  • I tried it with 6 people and it doesn't hang :)

  • It’s been a long time since a phone of the Huawei P20 Pro’s quality came along to upset the Apple-Samsung duopoly we’ve all gotten used to. Having experienced its amazing triple lens camera, shimmering design and heavyweight performance for a fortnight now, I’m convinced it’s the best new phone of the year so far. When so many handsets offer pretty much the same thing right now, the P20 Pro deserves credit for doing a little bit more for less of your money. It’s the first Huawei handset to offer quality through and through. Sure, some software-related rough edges remain but they’re tolerable at worst and totally eradicable if you have the know-how. Striking just the right balance between borrowed inspiration and genuine innovation, the Huawei P20 Pro is a telephonic and low light king when it come to the camera. My friends who have Galaxy Samsung S9+ and Apple Iphone X where amazed by my superior P20 Pro camera in telephonic and low light. Follow this link for professional camera tests results of this phones,

  • guys, im thinking of getting the P20 pro, but i've heard that there's problem with front facing camera where the camera function hangs when you take a selfie with more than 6 person in the photo. other than that, has anyone else met any other kind of problem after use? Thanks in advance.

  • If you are into gaming, better go with Snapdragon. It will never fail you

  • already bought and used it! HYPE in short. It seems that you contented on no Jack, well for me its no good. Better check some apple they include what protection included. You are paying $900 of course the protection should be top of the line. Some people does not have PC or laptop/of course more storage less hassle/I traded it with my brother to his mate 10. LOL

  • I got the S9+ pre order made by my telecom here. Since it is for recontract from my S7 flat 2 years. I upgraded to S9+ 128gb and am still using it till now. You will not see the difference in terms of speed but wait for 1 or 2 year or applications that you use is demanding. Exynos has really improved expect since the S5. Also the GPU of S9+ beat the last generation of Kirin 970. also from the camera P20 pro "HYPE" for the price

  • Will it get lagged after long term use? Like most android phones? Because im worried it will be lag. Like iphone is good because it wont lag easily.

  • if you get the dual SIM version the second SIM slot can take up to 128GB micro SD

  • Yes, it does.

  • YES

  • Why not a 256GB version? It's 2018. The only reason I'm not buying this phone is that 128GB might be less if you shoot 4k etc. A verision with 256GB should also come out.

  • Quick question. Does this have desktop mode like the mate series?

  • Thanks for the reply. What is your settings while playing pubg ? is it in ultra? if it is in ultra I'm gonna go for it. Cheers.

  • Every phone will heat up. On my P20 Pro every game seems fine. I play Pubg mobile on regular basis, no lags, no unusual heating problems. But I have to say this: P20 Pro is the best phone I have ever possessed but hardwarewise, Galaxy S9 slightly has a better CPU. If you are looking for GPU and CPU speed then go for an S9. If you are looking for Overall, I can safely say P20 Pro is the best phone in the market.

  • Well to be honest I played nfs no limits, asphalt airborn so far and no issues no lags even I played in high setting. But phone gets warm, obviously playing high setting for more than 20 minuets will heat any phone I think.

  • Thanks for the reply. Can you try nba 2k18 ?. or at least pubg, Ros or any game with high graphics requirements. I'd like to know if these game van handle this phone. Cheers

  • Can you try nba 2k18 ?. pubg, ros ?. or any game with high graphics.

  • the games I play are CSR Racing 2, Traffic Racing and 8 Ball Pool

  • Here are few more of my video/photo samples. Thank you for watching. I'm using this device for over a month now and i'm really satisfied. Night Time Photos: Speed and acurracy of Focus: Augmented reality Sample (Porsche Mission E): Video Stabilization: Super Slow Motion Samples (960fps): ARCore Augmented Reality Samples:

  • As far as i'm using it for around 1 month, there are no issues at all. Btw, the heavy games that i played in this phone are shadow fight 3, asphalt 8, and dynasty warrior

  • Another crappy notch! Why they all follow the worst fashions?

  • haha. was there a need to prove?

  • That was a joke, right ?

  • I played asphalt nitro runs smooth no lags...and subway surfers also no issues.

  • Is it too important?

  • why all smartphones except Samsung ones DONT have heart rate and SpO2?

  • the phone is good and doing pretty well here in SA

  • Hi. Can I ask to those who bought this phone about the gaming performance ? Is there any issue ? lagging while playing ? or not satisfied with the graphics ? or you can feel that there's something wrong with the graphics ? please tell me your reviews about this. also please add what game did you test that you come up with that review. if the review is good enough. I gonna decide to buy this phone right away. thanks

  • Great response!

  • nice bro. can u tell me about sony xperia xz2 premium camera???

  • how much is this in usd? thanks

  • PLEASE BUY THE PHONE FIRST BEFORE YOU COMMENT NERDS. I'm a huawei phone user since P8. ( P8, P9 plus, P10, P10 plus, P20 pro). I assure you the are all great phones in their era. Can I comment? 1st, they (NERDS) CONS: 1. Ok no 3.5mm jack ( they provide the adapter AND the type C headset - what do you need more? 2. No wireless charging ( they provide their own charging tech that can charge your 4000mAh phone in JUST 1.5hrs. IF you don't want that I'll laugh at you any moment. 3. NO GORILLA GLASS ( Its only unspecified just like the a.p.p.l.e. but there's the protrction - if you'll use this as your daily driver, p20 pro can give you that no doubt. And as if any of us will not buy a phone protrection. And hey they give u a nice phone bumper btw. 3. No expandable storage (yeah I know it sucks like a.p.p.l.e, my 128gb stays on p10+... BUT hey you can seemlessly transfer files to your pc nowadays, use otg dongle, the cloud, etc. You purchase a $900 phone and yet you cant think of ways to transfer you files without a hassle?? Ahaha. 4. Optical stab in video (ok im not sure of this but I always use FHD 60fps and Im ok with that, whats important to me is that i can record moments, and i know i can handle my phone properly, bring tripod everyday so it will not shake ahahaha). 5. Design (they always file patents and designs fiest before launching ans they passed. And if your talking about ressemblance, please dont look the X phone didn't copy the notch in L.G or essential phone first or the great great grand smsrtphones way back 2004 - the thing is their other notches have other use/sensors and if you dont know whst they are putting there and you only think that its only blocking your visuals and i suggedt find other phone and dont critisize. Thats not your prrference phone. Period. The pros? Well so many of them but ill give some in reference for other nerds. 1. Camera - if you are nerdy pls read the review in dxomark 2. Battery charging - please read 3. OS/skin/ whatever - please read 4. Reviews - see gsmarena ahahaa. Or others if your not contented geesh. Im not that techie person but overall all phones are capable... Its just that the p20 pro step up more in photography. :) With added features that can make it a flagship phone ( if were on the same understsnding). Kudos.

  • Interesting how you seem to like S9+ over any other phone as "better allrounder", but you stated that you use your brothers Huawei Mate10 that you switched form Huawei P20 Pro. Did you actually use S9+ for a while?? I am wandering how did you conclude that it is "better allrouder"? Maybe you are right but I didn't see that much of a difference between the two that I could say one is strictly better that the other. AI can be switched off on P20pro so over saturation that you mentioned isn't a real problem. Regarding Kirin 970, both P20pro that you had and Mate10pro that you use now have it. What is the problem with it? I see that it has lower clock speed than Snapdragon, but I think that you can see real difference only in large amount of multitasking, and it would be measured in seconds if not milliseconds. And not to forget not all S9 come with Snapdragon, some have Exynos depending on the market. Anyway, I still think that it is personal preference, both phones are great (like Ferrari vs Lamborghini ;)). And I know that can be scary to see phone bend on youtube :D but if you sit with all your weight on both phones, probably both will bend - P20pro a bit more ;) Same goes for scratching - pocket change wont scratch any phone, but sharp metal or sand will scratch both. Cheers

  • Huawei drawn my attention. Nice looking, interesting cameras. But, Samsung S9+ takes a clear edge in my opinion. Video stabilization IS WAY BETTER and I couldn'y use Huawei in same way as S9+. Fast wireless charging in S9+ is perfect. Sound in stereo with Dolby system is way more advanced. Quality of sound and conventional headphones input (AKG earplugs are top notch) again is clear advantage. Super AMOLED on Samsung is simply the best display in the industry. Period. It has faster processors. Additional micro SD card (combined slot) of 400 GB seals the choice. Also, protection seems more solid on S9+ Design wise S9+ still sits on the very top, although nothing to complain on Huawei. Can I trust Huawei more than Samsung ? I don't know, Huawei si big company, but it is not such strong brand as Samsung. Somehow I would trust Samsung more, in general. I do not see any single advantag of Huawei over current android leading device. Talking as Apple guy for years, I do not care for names, but for whole package.

  • Can someone please install telegram app in Huawei P20 pro and can you please check does the app sync with the existing contacts in Huawei P20 pro?

  • I know it can turn off but the processing is to much. Try that on your PC you will the difference =) the 40MP RGB is good but like in lumia and N 808, I can peak someone how far they are. Hahaha. Still for all rounder, I will go to S9 plus. Also the dongle on jack in usb type C. annoying haha. I have bluetooth that last me 4 hrs, but it is not enough

  • Frame is not from aliuminum, its from polier steel... Sorry for my EN.

  • well, you can turn off the AI in camera if u dont want saturated images. and AI is not just for camera,it has lots of other advantages also.

  • Well try to use both phone rather than asking your co work regarding S9 plus. I have both of these phone S9 plus and P20 pro. Let me tell you about the bend test, purpose of that is for accident, when you accidental sit on your phone, wearing tight jeans or phone was under your back while sleeping. You cant tell what accident happen, that's why durability comes first. Also AI produce over saturated, if you ask me. Well some peope love over saturated photo go ahead. And you miss that the processing is more latest on S9 plus rather than Kirin 970. That's why I gave my P20 pro to my brother and use his Mate 10.

  • Al last, someone understands. Cheers

  • It is funny how people ask: "S9+ or P20 pro - please help me" :D. If you look at almost any flagship today, all are very similar and on the other hand worlds apart. I work at IT company and we are changing mobile phones twice a year so I had the privilage to test a bunch of phones. - Samsung and Huawei as well. I personaly have Huawei P10 and Huawei P20 as my daily drivers and I love the brand, design and overall how they handle. More of my coleagues use Samsung S8 / S9 and phones are fantastic as well. So it comes to your personal perferences. It dosent matter what kind of glass is on the phone because glass is very good. On paper Gorilla is better but that doesnt mean stock glass isnt great. Yes, S8 / S9 have "best" screens on the market but when you use both P20 pro and S9, you really don't see that much of a difference (maybe small whent brightness is at the max). I am not photographer and I use auto filters and photos are very much alike - I personally in 8 out of 10 can't tell difference between 2 cameras. On youtube you can se that 4k video shakes a bit on P20 pro. I am a big fan of Huaweis EMUI and its "learning" capabilities and how phone gets automatical after few weeks of use. I chose P20 pro because i think its georgeous! Twilight just looks great. It has large battery so i can watch youtube all day long, listen to music, surf etc. Like any new allglass phone you have to take care of it but it isnt made uot of paper so don't worry :D As for youtube bend video - no one in its right ming wouldn't apply so much preasure on a phone to reach its breaking point just for fun so chances of you bending your phone accidently in everyday use is 0%. So if you like P20 pro, just buy one - it is great phone, looks cool, feels great, great battery and great camera. If you need really specific stuff like constantly shooting 4k video, and overall perfer S9 design - go for other one. All other differences are marginal. Cheers

  • You are just an another MKBHD fan....lol

  • Battery & Camera wise P20 pro is far better. Long term performence is a draw. Galaxy's design is unique & better. However, video camera on Galaxy is far better if you want 4K. Both of them has Stereo speaker & Dolby atmos support. Screen on Galaxy is the best on market. So, choose your priorities first, then decide.

  • Surprised to know that Huawei didn’t mentioned wat kind of screen protection they have used. Jerryrig bend test broke the front glass of Huawei p20pro so sad ,such an expensive fone and no gorilla glass 5? I had made up my mind to go for Huawei P20 Pro but it’s hard for me to handle such a delicate fone. Anyways it’s my personnel opinion. Below are major reasons to buy Huawei P20 Pro. Camera is excellent(results are bit closer to google pixel 2xl). Performance is fine too. Battery is simply superb.

  • It's Tie between S9+ and Huawei P20 pro.. Any suggestions? Battery, Camera, Looks and Overall Long term Performance are KEY......?

  • I want now the p20 pro is used gorella glass 5 or no?

  • it has both

  • no. in comparison to p20 pro s9+ is the only other option. no other.

  • how could you even compare s8 with p20 pro??

  • buy xiaomi its the best chinese brand vs to this chines brand.

  • I'm surprised how many people think that P20 Pro didn't pass (technically it did, but you know what I mean) the bend test due to lack of Gorilla Glass. Well me tell you this, simply THAT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BE TRUE. Huawei didn't advertise Mate 10 Pro uses Gorilla Glass yet it passed the test with flying colors. It bent and cracked because the actual structural frame around the phone is weak. End of story.

  • me

  • buy one and test it!

  • Water and dust resistance?

  • Huawei P20 pro vs Samsung Galaxy S8 which one is better?

  • buy mate 10 pro

  • It was really hard to get here (france, i had to wait for 3 weeks), most of stores are out of stock. You have to monitor all your stores and place an order or a preorder if you want to get it. Or go for the midnight blue which is the 2nd best color in my opinion.

  • Exactly!

  • the same smartphone as mate 10 pro... but nobody needs 40 mpix camera!

  • Never

  • Good Specs BTW no gorilla glass protection advertised that means a simple glass in front ????

  • I am going to buy this phone in this week. Do you have any good recommendations?

  • Can anyone tell me when will be twilight version available in India? Loosing my patience...😣

  • Need to get one asap

  • That video is from google pixel 2 and that is recorded by screen. I wasnt able to upload video myself because of low internet. So i just shared a link for a existing problem. I'm having the same lights issue. Why do you want audio btw ? I have problem with light flickering. Just check the video and you'll see when camera is pointed to lights it is not performing good,

  • There is no audio in your videos....stop lying man. just jor views you shouldn't do it

  • My P20 pro has camera flickering issue like that of Google Pixel 2 camera bug. This is a mess. I'm unable to take photos in lights and I'm super annoyed. I bought this device 2 days ago. Is anyone else having the same problem? Check this youtube of flickering issue so you might understand the problem im talking about

  • Superb camera and system performace.

  • Nah...I think quad cameras...might add an wide angel on like lg

  • Liar....a big time liar

  • What's next? Octuple cameras?

  • expectation versus reality. i didn't expect that this phone is not directly 40mp its a (10mp x 4). and the outputs was for fun like for instragram post/for teenager post images. i thought that this phone can capture real images but its not, images that can be consider as a memories is not there. and the price is super high

  • Things Huawei Lacks 1> Optical Image Stabilization for the video cam. 2> Corning Gorilla Glass protection for the screen 3> 3.5mm Headphone Jack 4> Expandable Storage 5> Original design And they want you to pay 900$ for it...

  • It does not have a gorilla glass. It has a normal tempered glass layer over the screen instead. Watch the JerryRigEverything Scratch, burn and bend test of the p20 pro and you'll find out what a joke from Huawei it is. I mean, the phone is good and brings you some pretty unique (Like Triple camera that currently offers the best still images on the market, and one of the fastest face unlock based on front camera or even the revolutionary pain jobs it introduced) features but the build quality is not even comparable to the S9+, LGV30S ThinQ, Sony Xperia XZ2 and Iphone X or 8. In other words: It's not worth the price, it should be less expensive.

  • Does the phone have gorilla glass?? no scratches??

  • No Card slot = No Smartphone

  • Can use OTG or not?

  • The same SOC makes development easier and helps with future upgrades....

  • Please it is time to change your mid range processor from kirin 659 to something else. Same soc in a dozen mobile phones!!

  • Its confirm Yes!

  • I like the new release Huawei phone its nice phone and hope to have that phone someday :) Good for taking picture as observe in watching a review for tha phone :) #Huawei P20 Pro :)

  • Can I use wired earphone & wireless headphone at same time ? I have wired one & my gf has wireless one; so I'm hoping to connect two audio devices at same time. Can this do it ? honest answer please... I'm not a techy guy so spare me with your sarcasm. Thank you

  • Yes

  • It matters a ton.For the price and flagship level it needs to be on level of competition and provide you with best quality out there.Any phone out there can have gorilla glass but Huawei picks not to.It costs 800$+ ffs. Also in JerryRigEverything video it showed clearly why a phone needs one.

  • Mate 10 pro user here brought from 1st of January 2018 till present. still as new.

  • Can it connect to two bluetooth devices at the sametime? Need an honest answer....thank you

  • I know this phone doesn't have gorilla glass, but does that really make any difference? If I just get a case and screen protector would it really matter?

  • So expensive phone without gorilla glass protection (=.=)... Last time P10 still got gorilla glass 5 protection.

  • Please, what is the Spiderman game name in the review ?

  • There is no question of lag on huawei phones. And please for god's sake don't compare it with more 5

  • What are you saying dude. It has dual channel bluetooth so it can definitely connect with two devices at a time. My honor 8 Pro also has b 4.2 and it connects with two devices at a time

  • ur some kind of a nonsense user of gadgets. u dont even know what ur talking about.

  • Yes, you can do that at the same time. you can also plug your earphones and share it via bluetooth at the same time. just like my mate 9

  • no, you can only do that with bluetooth 5.0 and the p20 pro has 4.2

  • Can it pair with bluetooth 2 devices at the same time?

  • Emui use AI learn system, give it a few weeks and the phone will become smoother! Tips - go to developer option, turns all animation to 0.5

  • If enough with your budget, go for P20 pro. Its low lights camera capabilities is unbeatable. To save your budget even more, go get regular Mate 10, same performance, camera better on P20 pro side, camera still good annndddd, got headphone jack along with no notch. Its $600 now.

  • just go for it man

  • What to choose between Samsung galaxy s9+, Samsung galaxy note 8,and this thing p20 pro, I never use Huawei phones neither use iPhone although IPhone X also could be considered, but never use ios so don't know about experience, But it's first time that any Huawei phone P20 pro is tempting me, Any suggestions... Thanks

  • The camera is one of the best I have seen on a mobile phone. However the phone is just having to much lag, stutter, which spoils the experience and this is a flashship phone. My old note5 works way smoother than this. It feels the OS is not fully optimised. Hope they will improve the firmware. I am getting frustrated

  • No Gorilla glass! P series doesn't have special glass. They are only using tempered glass.

  • I phone up Huawei myself to ask it the Huawei p20 pro had got grilla glass they couldn't tell if it had or not and they didn't know themselves what do you make of that will I couldn't believe that so arcade still in the dark about the grilla glass

  • Absolutely right! Most of the Huawei Honor product are having in house Gorilla glass covered which gives equal/better safety than other usual gorilla glass mobiles. Huawei product are far better and good in performance. Happy to be a part of the "Huawei Family". :-)

  • Gorilla glass is not the only company which manufactures protective glasses. There are other also like asahi. In p20pro i think huawei has used in house manufactured glass which would also provide protection like gorilla glass

  • have gorilaglas protction or no ??

  • Huawei P20 Pro FAQs – Gorilla Glass, Super Slow Motion, IR Blaster, NFC

  • There phone do not have wireless charging

  • Yeah, it works man

  • If resolution is your favourite, then Mate 10 will be yours. But if screen display, P20 Pro.

  • It's the best phone I ever had,and I've had many.the picture quality is super! ,

  • The display of the Huawei Mate 10 has a diagonal of 5.9 inches 16x9, a resolution of 2560x1440 (499 ppi), and a 95.6 cm3 screen area. Now compare, and say: which display is better and bigger? ...

  • I'm putting together an online store, photographing dummies in studio with continuous lighting. My question is: Can Huawei P20 Pro do the photos well? Anybody know

  • Yea cause in daily use you go scratch your phone with a Mohs scale 7 pick and try your hardest to bend it, I would like to see the test done on another unit cause it could of been coincidence.

  • Thuuuuu SHAME on Xiaomi pathetic 3 month lifetime phones. shame

  • I wanted to buy this device so much but then i saw the display doesn't have Gorilla Glass at all and now i have doubts.. Such a good device but they flop it with the display thing... :(

  • My Y7 Prime has also this default beautification mode but it's more trash than P20 Pro. I don't use FFCs anyways, cause the rear camera is much more useful in all situations and memories to capture. Anyways, why did you sell your Mate 10 Pro? It was more durable than P20 Pro?

  • Only Mate 10 was built perfectly from Huawei with total protection. P20 Pro? Glass breaks after he bended the phone. Tsk.

  • yeah cos phones are built to be hit with a hammer

  • just got this phone after selling my mate 10 pro. By now you all know the main features of this phone. i am not going to waste time repeating it. My findings are 1) Front camera is pathetic. Always takes way too bright and soft (waxy skin) photos. However you can edit the pic and increase the "PoP" setting, it instantly brings back all the lost details... i hope Huawei makes this setting as 0 Beautification by default. 2) the wallpaper i see with different ink like colour spread around is not in the phone. I paid almost $350 + mate 10 pro to get this phone.... if given a chance again, i would not do it... simply because its really not all that worth.. But a really good try by Huawei.. keep it up guys

  • Camera department... Huawei wins I own both lol

  • Build quality of P20 Pro almost failed after JerryRigEverything tested it on his channel. How sad Huawei. Still has a history of low quality build.

  • Walmarts wireless network

  • Whats straight talk?

  • Does this phone work on straight talk

  • Wow.... I had not known about this feature in this phone that is phone supports dual lte standby ...2 jio sims at a time....really desperate to get this phone as soon as its available in amazon India. Thank you.

  • Yes it does. And even dual volte suppost is also present means u can use 2 jio sims at time which only a few smartphones only support in india. Those are- honor view 10,huawei p20 pro and p20 jite, asus zenfone max pro and oppo f7.

  • The smartest comment is like: I shoot 128 GB photos and vids a month... Come on! u can't be serious... Go get a pro Camera for that matter, this is clearly not ur thing smarty. It's simple, be real, stop the crap or u may manufacture ur own P20 Pro in ur dreams.

  • Does all p20 series support india's jio 4G VOLTE Network ..????? 😊😎😳&#129320;

  • be chinese company is xiaomi not this brand.

  • number 1?the brand it self cant be on number 1. the only brand that can be on number 1 is the brand that is out/introduce years and years ago. the well known brands.

  • The P20 Pro does not support wireless charging. But Wireless charging is slow and gimmicky anyway really so it’s not really a flagship dealbreaker - especially for me!

  • It doesn't

  • Can anyone tell me if P20 Pro supports wireless charging?

  • Just wanted to say that i finally received my twilight unit early this week and i like this phone. Feels really like a flagship between display quality and brightness (colors and temperature can be adjusted to your likes), body material, design, responsiveness, sound quality, lte network speed and a real 2 full days battery's life. I have yet to test thorougly camera but so far the 2 or 3 random shots i took were looking great with its AI assistance. Watching videos or listening to music on its speakers feel great. (they are powerful, a bit like htc i guess). I highly recommend it to anyone willing a great flagship currently. Maybe this will force Samsung to wake up for S10 next year (or not). Kudos to Huawei !

  • world top 1 smart phone. i like it !

  • Got some guts

  • still no (bluetooth or NFC) earbuds :(

  • Silence at once!!

  • Here is the comparisson between Huawei P20 pro vs Nokia 808 Pureview

  • After searching a lot of phones flagships finally decided to go for this one. Not for camera as primary but there many reasons as a office worker definitely needed a front fingerprint as easy to see messages or notifications without lifting the phone from table. Just press fromt finger sensor and see notifications messages etc. Ir blaster is definite search for me as I controll tv,ac,dth and even my dslr camera. And a powerful battery that can last at least 2 days with normal uses. Then camera as in day to day life this camera looks perfect specially in low light. These are main need and others can be bonus.

  • And then again so many people whining about SD card slot?

  • 8.6,so you have 119 GB free space:)

  • P20 Pro Vs P2XL ? Need recommendation for Which one... based on below 1. Stereo Speakers (dual) Quality 2. Battery life / charging 3. Picture Quality (Day & Night) 4. Video Quality

  • Can any owner of this device tell how much storage is user availble and how much is taken by system out of the box? Thank you

  • Actually there are ppl like me who care, I keep my media on cloud ofc... But in terms of apps i cant just put them on cloud on an external device i need phone memory... Lets say that i have over 250 apps on my 64GB device... its true that i dont use 60% of them more than once per week... but when i need them it takes too long to download again, delete something else... and it needs a lot of data usage than :D But. 128GB is outstanding for one mobile device, guys here simply dont remember 2014 and 8-16GB and all that memory mess mixed with lags and bugs.. Wake up ppl, Android is still far than perfect but it became better than IOS

  • The only issue with this camera comparison page is that they only use the 40MP option fro thr P20 Pro - even better results would be obtained using the 10MP mode so all three lenses come into play

  • wtf

  • Portable External ROM guys

  • U didnt understand what i was saying. I was saying that at last u will have to shift files somewhere then why care if it is 128 or 256 or dash dash dash

  • I "exploited" Google Drive for Education (through our school) and have about 2.5TB of files in the cloud right now.

  • That comes down to more than 1tb in 8 months which means u will have to transfer the somewhere even if u have sd card slot. Then why need a slot.

  • I'm sure there are but you are in a minority, making so much storage a niche requirement rather than a mass, general public one.

  • Then there are people like me who create about 128GB of photo and video files each month...

  • Not many people need more than 128 GB memory. I am happy with 64 and no SD card slot myself.

  • well, if you want to embarrass yourself... take a look at GSMarena camera comparison : put cold water on burned area , a chill :))

  • I like the design & Camera quality.. but no headphone jack & SD card slot.. this is the main disadvantage for this model..

  • OK... so bought one based on the reviews on Youtube Main reasons were battery life and camera - they are the 2 most important things to me. Camera is INSANE - esp. if you delve into Pro mode (ignore the AI modes they just push particular colour saturations) - Low light photography is magic - NOTHING else on any other smartphones comes close! AI in the interface and lower screen resolution makes general usage as fast as any Snapdragon 845 powered phone - but games are (slighter) better on the others. Screen is good - not exceptional Sound likewise EMUI is growing on me - GREAT customisations Notch really does not detract from usage - you get used to it real quick. Build quality and looks are phenomenal (went for midnight blue) The BIGGEST kicker though was the price and deals available in NZ - $300 cheaper than an S9+ ($1200 vs $1500) AND a FREE pair of Sennheiser PXC550's + a FREE UE Wonderboom (total worth $670) - just too good to pass up.

  • Design is the main highlight of this and u r just critizising d design. Irony! Just look at the twilight colour model

  • then don't buy it lmao. No one ask you lack of attention to people

  • That dude still stucked at old generation where stilll love point and shoot cameras.

  • Good specs but ugly design. XZ2 way cooler

  • P20 pro poor in Lowlight?? do you have any memo which is the current best lowlight shooter?? Do you even know about anything about tech world?? Do you have YouTube on your phone to Google about p20 pro camera comparisons??? Don't embarrass yourself dude!!

  • Did anybody else receive this handset and it also has a fairly loose power button? There is more movement to the power button up and down/ wobble compared to Mate 10. Anyone else?

  • LOL. Stop that bashing comments. Just comment your experiences and reports about the phone or company instead of starting a war against each other. Good day.

  • All you mentioned are better than P20 Pro in Auto Mode but will out most other smartphones you mentioned to shame when Manual Mode is used correctly.

  • i think this huawei is better in camera because p20 has a good resolution and focus in the picture

  • Man its of no gain to me if i bash samsung or praise huawei(let). I cmnt only acc. to my experience. My brother was an employee in Samsung headquarter in India and once he had been gifted note 5 and he had given it to me but i couldnt bear with it for more than 6 months and had to put it in drawer. This is just one experience.

  • Failure and Huawei!! Are u ok man? After a few years of entering the mobile market it has become the no.3 brand in the world and that also when it is not being allowed to sell in US

  • Hahahahaha!! I was just going to ignore u but ur low light capibility comment forced me to reply to ur comment. For ur kind information acc. to each and every tech expert out there p20 pro is the best low light camera phone on this planet. Stop bashing Huawei. I would hav nevr replied to u had u said of sd card slot or 3.5 mm jack but u crossed all limits. Apoligies.

  • 970 does serport Bluetooth 5 I find out on the internet Huawei just put the 4.1 in for now

  • There are 128gb out because I have got one very good phones the Huawei p20 pro

  • Look @ sony very good phone strong like a rock. Compaired camera of xz premium with s9 and p20pro Sony little bit better in good light but in low light s9 little bit better. The modded and rooted xz premium is better in all . Compaired with my new xz2. Xz2 is better in all conditions. Huawei is a crappy when compaired to xz2 . P20 pro 40 mp (10 mp real) in low light is disaster. Don't compaire any phone with xz2 in case of camera because you will be shocked really. S9 better than p20 pro and faster also.

  • Why you compaire a failure huawei with better phone in the market. Old iphone is 1000000000times way better than this failure. About huawei cam i compaired both , the 40 mp (10 real mp) of the huawei is very very poor and noisy

  • I have a note 5. It's b.een 3 years, still no lag and battery last all day. Samsung new flagship phones are incredible.

  • Rocking a mate 10 and loving it. Wont buy another huawei untill they bring back sd card.

  • Price doesnt matters as much in the premuim segment in india as it matters in mid range

  • U better dont even talk of cameras as everyone knows which is best. Samsung is very poor in the long run. Their devices start lagging after some time. In case of emui, well u can make it look like as u want(even like stock) and even the default theme is not bad. Cartoonisi could be the case with emui few years back but definitely not know.

  • And the hate continues when will guys like you stop being on denial and accept the fact that P20pro is just superior than that s9+ of yours???!!!

  • Is the $g bands the same as the mate 10 pro for this phone? I hate it when a flagship phone dont offer all bands available for different countries.

  • S9+ definitely. Its camera setup is something that's as good as the triple cam gimmick of the huawei p20 pro. It's all just good in numbers, but in actual application, there's nothing significantly innovative about it outside of its ai capabilities. You're not even going to use the 40mp mode whose shutter speed is impractically slow. That's why the default is set at 10mp. Waste of hardware or just another cleverly sugarcoated reason to tout a ridiculous price? I say both. You're actually better off with an 808 pureview from the nokia of old if you really care about phone cameras. And emui is ugly, cartoonish, and just plain boring. Unlike the samsung experience ui of the recent samsung flagships (nothing like the laggy touchwiz it thankfully replaced). And even though the 2018 exynos is rather less efficient and powerful than the 2017 versions, the s9 and s9+ which it powers still have a pretty respectable battery life. Not stellar admittedly but far from terrible.

  • Indian market is price conscious , waiting to see how it will play with the pricing in india.

  • Huawei is 10 times better. Its not comparison.

  • Definitely right. Same here.

  • no radio and no radio too why ? why ? ....

  • Of all the Samsungs _I had, the battery sucks after only a few months. Cant say that about Huawei. Thats a big reason to choose the Huawei.

  • In dilemma to choose between P20 PRO & Iphone .

  • while I think this is a fantastic device but you should still go for the Samsung S9+. It's Dual camera is at par with Huawei triple cam setup. Kririn 970 is still behind Snap 845 or the exynos 9810. The front fingerprint reader is the only reason to pick this over the s9+.

  • I have to either choose the P20 pro or the Galaxy S9+. Still on the fences about which one to get.

  • nice mobile but poor in GPS....only 2 GPS!!!! 😩

  • Well brother the thing is that built in storage of mobile are always fast as compared to SD card in general and obviously Y5 is kind of entry level mobile so it's hardware is meant for day to day task now thing is what kind of SD card your mom is using and what's the read write speed on it secondly the hardware of mobile must be capable enough to catch up with the speed of memory card But according to my experience I had used this mobile for a while and it does lag after some time so it's hardware issue but still you need to check your SD card on safer side that either it's damage or not

  • I have phone that my Mom uses from time to time Y5 2017 it lags when she uses her SD Card is that normal?

  • Well virus and other problems are software based my friend but I will try to guide you through it You can transfer your media to any other source and then simply format each and every thing and restart your device from the scratch it is a painful process but totally free, use your desktop or laptop to back up your media and contacts messages can be backed up to Gmail account Now about the speed and lag issue so I would like to ask you something if you buy the most powerful computer machine and keep it switched on for months without shutting it down for a second it will also effect it performance and speed and actual screen visible lag in day to day performance, so how can you expect not to from a palm sized machine which we use like donkeys My advice is set auto switch off and switch on timing on your mobile As it's there in settings menu for just ten mins in late night or early morning so that your mobile.sgouod breath as well and if you don't have such settings in your specific model then try to get a free app from Google play store Never install apks from third parties or unsecure sources because they are not verified and are more prone to viruses Try to hold back the apps you don't use frequently and don't allow background access to them from settings because in iOS system background run is very strict while in android there is more usability but it comes with cost Clear your apps cache off and on because for me example install Facebook and check it's size after a month it will be huge And you can do all of this once a week when you just go through storage and memory and delete scrap and extra pics or mails etc If you think.you will just jump up into a mobile and then you will always have same performance then you are wrong it's a machine and it also requires maintenance but that will cost your time and a bit extra efforts. Peace

  • Its ur fault, not Huawei's. U made the virus enter ur phone

  • I have tried several Huawei phones and I can honestly say, that Huawei phones are the only phones that still run faster after many months of usage. You didn't mention how you got virus. Watch out the websites you visit!

  • i will NEVER used huawei phone again!huawei phone only good in several months, after that, virus strt to attack, and the phone start to lag, hang, the performance of the phone also start to down and getting slow slow and lag!

  • Thanks bro really appreciate

  • Guys, Why the video is shaky on 1080p?...

  • 128 GB in the UK as well.

  • in Switzerland they are with 128 GB

  • The Huawei p20 pro can be upgrade to 5 Bluetooth they just put 4.1 instead donor won't be a shame sonthe can put 5 Bluetooth latter on

  • Yes it can serport 4.1 and higher 5 Bluetooth checked on line they just put 4.1 in instead but it can go higher that's good news

  • has anybody seen the 128 gb internal memory cause they are all 64 gb in the market currently

  • anyone knows how much ISO can get on Video?

  • Touching is free of cost

  • Hail the king || king is back

  • I Dont think kirin 970 has support for bluetooth version 5

  • I see this phone in store but im not touch this phone because expensive

  • Apologies Melson, auto correct on the name, unforgivable.

  • Hi Nelson I use a combination of MP3, FLAC and hi Res FLAC. I have never used Bluetooth headphones as I am awaiting delivery of my first set so hopefully very soon. The phone is a flagship and general most high end phones have 5.0, at £799 I hope to keep the P20 pro two to three years, the question for me is will it become an issue and have they included hardware for future firmware update. Also unfortunately have to limit FLAC files especially hi-res due to not having a micro SD slot. Can't moan as I knew this when I ordered.

  • There is what the ecosystem of market revolves. Someone sells and someone has to buy it is either expensive or cheap it does not matter. So there is no problem to people who tend to buy a very expensive thing like new launched phone and etc because the market just need them to keep them rolling. Instead of giving thoughtful thoughts, you mislead because of your personal orientation. We need open mind no political inclination a pure opinion because unarguably P10 plus is currently at the tip of the phone industry.

  • What would you do on bluetooth 5? can you share to us the fraction of latency, then in which bit rate and frequencies you wish your music will be transmitted and heard. Where did you get you music my friend? What container does you music have, Mp3 of Flac?

  • Lolzzzz I can't stop myself luaghed over people who are saying that they need removable batteries My dear fellows now SOCs work on 10nm structure and soon there will be 7nm based SOCs which are way friendly with power consumption If your mobile Screen on time is below 4 hours then we can understand but if it's above 6 and in this particular case it's touching 7 hours or near to it then you don't need any spare battery at all Secondly I will always go with a better battery performance rather than fooling myself with removable batteries that last just for 3 hours or a bit above that and then again charging is so ridiculously fats on this thing that we don't need removable batteries at all with Huawei super charge and winning combination of 4000 mah battery Now I would like to tell some thing to this site reviewer as well they always argue about the Camera app in mobiles other than apple and Google and they say iPhone app and Pixel app is bla bla bla simple and at the same time they wish that iOS 1# should bring manual mode to their app and about Pixel they have same kind of feeling Now thing is when you had packed so much hardware in the Camera you need supporting software for it as well, and the options can't be displayed on the screen for every feature other wise there would be nothing in view finder apart from icon and their functions that's why it's a bit complicated and I will take optimistic approach and will say it's feature rich app with plenty of features but if you don't want it then auto mode is always there, that's it Now getting back to our multi talented reviewers commenting here so for you guys now smartphone market is jam packed we get almost 2 to 3 flagship cycles from almost 10 OEMs so better buy any of the flagship and it will serve you more than satisfactory way but And a huge but as far as current breed of mobiles are concerned this thing is a pinnacle yet to be answered. Peace from UAE

  • What a shame Huawei did not include either a micro SD card support or headphone jack. Noted on lots of reviews. It really would have been there on top of the pile for the money if they had included them. Just typing this on the P20 pro and it really is great. However what is not mentioned alot is the lack of Bluetooth 5. Is this going to be an issue over time and is this phone going to get updated in the future? Thinking HTC 11, that did received the Bluetooth update as the hardware was there!

  • Hey GSMARENA pin this comment to the top in the comment section

  • u really nailed it!

  • Home button in the bottom put me off buying it, as I think it looks outdated with it and it's useless except fingerprint scanner which could be in the back. Rest of the phone is super cool.

  • Had the phone only a few days now, but so far so good. back of case feels grippy in hand and unlikely to slip/fall. However, the flip side of this is its always covered in fingerprints and needing cleaned. Box comes with USBC cable/plug also USBC/3.5mm adapted the best surprise was the usbc headphones in the box, super. UK buyers also get to claim back free wireless headphones , so will see if they arrive once claimed. Overall a good start from Huawei after the disaster that was a Moto-Z only lasted 11 months before dying, with awful support from Motorola, still trying to get my refund paid, 13 weeks after sending them my phone.

  • Those individual that are complaining are the most ignorant techie I've ever heard and if not, they simply doesn't know anything so they don't deserve our answers a waste of time.

  • Indeed, I love this man...!!

  • goooooooood

  • Yes we need a removable battery cause for some people it's still 2005!

  • The earphones of the Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 pro are the free earphones of the Huawei P20 Lite? Thanks.

  • dafuq did i just read

  • All battery has to be put into the phone, so that means it can be taken out too. Learn how to open up the phone and change it. I have changed it on several phones now, my current phone is 3 years old, battery performance is still the same. Maybe it does not overcharge and hence such long lasting.

  • Huawei's batteries are good quality, I have the G7plus since january 2016 and never had problem with the battery life! My next phone is the P20pro for sure, it is the best phone on the market

  • Okay okay I got it I don't understand what does people want if you want everything then go with Samsung because S9 plus is only device that ticks every every box like literally every box But i can see such silly comments that I can't stop my self to answer them once and for all Thing is this phone is just perfect people are saying no expansion and headphone jack dedicated one , since how many time you had used your phone while charging it and listening to music and if you are so much I to music that can't stop your self for just 15 mins then you must be an audiophile and I don't think so you don't have Bluetooth head gears Secondly just name a single OEM that provides so generous headphones that you don't need proper high end head gears, like seriously I don't understand what's wrong with you all who are complaining it's 2018 now things are going towards minimalist edge, just see the screen to body ratios and other stuff About notch so apple used it from essential phone and provided us with face id which they claim is more secure than touch id which I don't want to argue with cause they better know their tech but purpose of face id is to unlock phone and authorise access for payments etc and in this phone you have way fast face unlocking and for security measures you already have tried and tested always active touch id, and no one complained it before about apples touch Id even.though it was also a bit stretch to use. As far as wireless charging is concerned so you get 17% charge with 30 mins charge on iPhone and 20 25% with Samsung and this thing charges to 58% within half hour which is good and bad at the same time but practically it's better option because the massive battery will serve you better and you won't need to charge it within the day and if you want to charge it then means either you don't leave your mobile for a second away using it or you.missed to charge it at first Now getting to cameras like again seriously people don't know any thing about cameras and start complaining again in day light nowadays every single flagship will do the job of any OEM it's the night photography where mobiles cameras struggle and they solved it for you yes front facing camera is on softer side and no AIS on 4k is a kind of bummer but still who records stuff normally in 4k it's a gimmick that's all even S9+ limits you to 10 mins max and it needs a hell of space in storage and it's really hard to share as well and 1080p is enough and really it's enough with 60 FPS, when did you saw any movie online in 4k like it doesn't need to suck itself every time What's else i am missing The main focus of the phone is Display which is good Camera which is excellent Battery which is again excellent charging time is among top two i.e Huawei super charge and Oppo Dash charging is fastest in the market storage is decent 128gb is enough storage, platform is Android so you can mess with it in every way, performance wise I can assure you it will last longer than any android mobile except Pixel because I am using mate nine since October 2016 and it is still standing strong, then there is high DAC audio for audiophile who prefer wireless head gears plenty of pixels in cameras and the features and option the camera provide is mile ahead than the competition Design is also good if not the best speakers are great build quality is simple awesome Now it provides plenty of features in hard ware and software that other lacks IR blaster, bigger battery, Fast charging, 3X optical zoom, 40mp main camera which can be used in daylight for pixel peeping, monochrome camera for artistic looks, PC mode, machine learning algorithms, Neural Processing CPU, Audio DAC for wireless, Dual SIM support,128gb bass storage, Stereo Hybrid speakers, fastest Face unlock, front finger print scanner, customisable notch, customisable navigation buttons, organic display and list goes on and I can argue every single comment here who are bashing this piece of ART Kudos to Huawei for bringing this game changer and those who does not know any thing about technology please go away reviews are expert opinions by experts for above average users rest average consumer just see his pocket and buy among two brands that's Samsung and iPhone but this time P20 pro is here and showing a massive middle FINGER to other OEMS that how one can bring balance between software and hardware without breaking a sweat.

  • Where is the photo chart and video chart to compare against other phone ?

  • Yes, and we need a removable battery too aha!

  • Nice phone but a massive flaw. NON REMOVABLE BATTERY kills it for me aha! Also, price a ripoff. Should cost about £250! I will stick with my LG V20 removable battery phone for £150 thank you!

  • No doubt the battery size iPhone is smaller, but at least it have qi charging on board where u can charger & listen at the same time. Like it or not, Huawei seriously messed up this time.

  • They don't have to.

  • Do Apple use 4000mah battery?

  • "The iPhone X is noticeably more compact with its 143.6 x 70.9mm footprint and it's also 0.1mm slimmer." What are you talking about? 6.1" vs a 5.8" ? Its obvious size will be different. Should have mentioned that when you mention physiques. Of course S9+ with 6.2" should be logically bigger too. But when you compare body ratio and dimension vs screen size and weight ... that's the difference. iPhone X has the worst body vs screen size ratio amongst these 3 models mentioned.

  • No card slot, no 3.5mm jack, notch display... Come on Huawei, stop blindly follow what apple did. In the end, it clearly shows u r just a follower. If u wanna "force" users to use Bluetooth headset, at least have the qi charging on board. P10+ was a good phone... Perhaps the last good phone...

  • Cloud you kidding me, I have 2 gig of data a month and I live where there bad 4g etc and that goes for a lot of people so cloud is pointless, need a 3.5 jack so you can listen and charge phone up at the same time and sd card slot just in case phone buggers up and you can just whip out all data saved on your sd card, put all your photo videos and music in the cloud yep that's safe!

  • this had a Radio and 3.5mm jack it would be perfect phone but as usual with every phone out there it falls on its face with something they missed! that people really want!

  • Read better dude lol, i didt said i wanted a crapy phone (like maybe the one you have) i said some features in this phone are acceptable for the brand standards || more or less this phone its kinda cheep and wouldnt ask for much

  • People who say things like you are just trying to validate their own purchase that they wasted their money on a not so good phone. The current subject is nothing to do with bluetooth headphones or earphones. If someone saved the money for a high-end phone, why should he be forced to waste even more money on unnecessary things? Moreover, it's wise to wait a half to one year before buying the phone, because the price will be 50% lower. And the CPU and camera of the newest phone is not 50% better (5% is more realistic). And smart people buy factory unlocked phones, without any contract.

  • If you can afford to buy this phone, means you can of course afford to buy high quality bluetooth head sets of earphones. I have no worries because I know those people that always complains are those people that can't afford to buy.

  • This is an mazing smartphone, i want to buy one ASAP.

  • Yes, it has IR blaster (my fault). But it doesn't have FM Radio according to GSMArena's specs. And how could it have FM Radio without 3.5mm jack?! In fact all phones in 2017 and the future are rubbish. Every phone after LG V20 is absolute trash (all brands are included). Unfortunately. (But at least Samsung and LG phones still have some of the important features that are missing from P20 Pro, like FM Radio, 3.5mm jack, SD card slot.)

  • Hi, Buy a 100 GB google Picture account for a very low price and upload your pictures when connected to WIFI, even automatically can be synced. Then you have all your pictures and movies online wherever you go and can clean your pictures from your mobile device resulting a very clean and a lot of storage on your device always. Meanwhile you can browse between your files and pictures by Google Drive and Google Pictures.

  • Say what u want but sadly, they aren't of any logic.

  • 1 camera vs. 3 camera... that's all...

  • why?

  • well said ! thank you j4anori !!!

  • well your opinion doesn't count anyway, so go for it,,,,,

  • thats why there is cloud, you dont need all these sdcards anymore! because your sdcards are more likely to be corrupted or get lost !

  • Seriously @ anonymous, you are nitpicking ! you want a card slot on a 128 GB of internal memory? you want removable battery on a 4000mAh battery? NO you obviously don't need this phone, i just wonder what you are using right now? And maybe you will complain as well when you find out that this phone cost over $200.00 ? get a life, not a smart phone, you need it more.

  • Correction: it has an ir blaster.

  • The other guy was saying that so i simply believed him. Sorry. I also ran through its specs page on gsma but couldn't find any. So that leaves to only one issue

  • My opinion in what you see bad on this phone - non-removable battery || Gives you more storage capacity - no SD card slot. || Same, the phone has more storage on its own - curved screen corners || doesn’t affect the performance - glass body || I agree with this one, one fall and good bye phone (the body part not the full phone) - 18.7:9 screen ratio || looks nice, not a big issue - no IR blaster || it does have ir blaster - no 3.5mm jack || yeah sadly - no FM Radio || FM Radio? Seriously? Internet is the jam now cx - no microSD card slot || Same as before, more internal storage, less need for these, even now with cloud storage - single LED flash || The camara is awesome even in the dark, so the LED flash is not that necessary

  • when i took video or photo, i always save it in the sdcard. this is important to me i used to save it in the phone and it decided to die. i'd lost a lot of precious photos and videos. I could always buy a new phone, but i am afraid some photos could not re-shoot. my suggestion is to equip yourself with a otg. remember to transfer your images before the phone decided to die on you.

  • what are you talking. There is RI blaster. I am controlling my Sony TV with this phone.

  • Everything in my list are valid issues. Nothing can justify the removal of the important features and the added new useless dumb things/design.

  • The only valid issues are lack of ir blaster and 3.5 mm jack. The reason for removing these could be either to provide waterproofing or save space. Non removable batteries also save a lot of space. In this age u dont need sd card slot when ur phone has enough internal storage and better buy cloud. Curved screen, glass body,18.7:9 ratio only enhance the design. And also the effective screen ratio comes down to 18:9 when apps run.

  • If you’re talking about the P20 Pro then you would be wrong. It does have compatibility for FM Radio; it does have an IR Blaster at the top with a preinstalled app for controlling your tv etc and it has a dual flash with a colour temperature sensor also included to help control white balance. Yes, it doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack but you don’t find many phones other than Samsung and LG which still include that feature which is unfortunate but the P20 Pro does support High Definition Audio Bluetooth and is supplied with a set of USB-C earphones in the box. You can’t technically say this is a rubbish phone because quite frankly, to label this device as rubbish, is to say that every phone (including your mobile device at the moment) is absolute trash when it likely isn’t. It depends on your needs as a consumer but this phone is no worse than anything Samsung, Apple, LG or Google are producing at the moment, and all of them have faults to some degree and won’t necessarily be for every consumer.

  • SD card slot?

  • This is a typical today's trendy crap phone. It's a typical useless fashion phone. - non-removable battery - no SD card slot. - curved screen corners - glass body - 18.7:9 screen ratio - no IR blaster - no 3.5mm jack - no FM Radio - no microSD card slot - single LED flash

  • this is not possible liar .

  • It means drawing apps from sd card slows your system.

  • i think there is no need to expanded to external memory cause the internal memory is 128GB

  • Yes, it have.

  • So from what you're saying, the sd card gives you the option of keeping your system running smooth? 😂

  • does p20 pro have private space same as mate 10 pro??

  • eh 3,5mm would be nice and always on display :/

  • every chinese has interpolations camera , p20pro is interpolations camera on 12mpx to 40mpx

  • Only thing missing is expandable memory. Otherwise A-1

  • My friend Jan said its a really good phone very niceeee

  • To keep your phone in an optimal operating performance, you have to keep some significant free space from your internal storage where your operating system resides. So adding more apps will give you an option to install those in you external storage which is in your external memory card which characterized with lower IOPS compared to its build in UFS or EMMC. So, would you please explain to the people how did you say that external memory card cannot affect the performance of your phone. How did i mislead people?

  • You don't understand? or you really don't know anything?

  • Anyone of P20 Pro owner here facing issue which night shot in camera menu? As per advertisement that the Night shot is shown in camera main menu, but my night shot is hidden in More?!!

  • @Tahvo, you gotta be kidding, right? Better Google Edward Snowden. I have no idea how safe Snapdragon or Exynos or MTK processors are. Worse case, you can use firewall app.

  • The telephoto lens used for zoom has optical image stabilization

  • Exactly, the headphone jack and sd card slot removals are really unnecessary. If the phone has 256GB, i am fine without sd card slot. Sony, Samsung, and LG can have a waterproof phone with headphone jack. Looks like Apple and huawei still don't know how to do it? :D

  • I think the only missing thing is stabilization on video. And I hate that they removed headphone jack and sd card slot. Really unnecessary. I am a Mate 9 user just switched to Note 8. I love Mate 9's cameras.

  • Yup. There is preinstalled apps mate. Even in their mid range phones, but you can uninstall 'em.

  • not bad not bad at all the camera sounds good and the 40MP main cam reminds me of the pureview days the 5X hybrid ZOOM sounds odd the ZOOM camera isn't that useful without O/EIS or tripod so unless you have rocky hands (or tripod) it is useless (and bokeh which you have three cameras for it) the mono cam is weird since it has tge widest lens which is kind of weird the 40MP camera should have it so you can shot short shutter speed will fully lighting these mini pixels water protection is a great surprise but the "splash protection" on the P20 is gimmicky useless (IP53? most phones have it they just don't know) even IP67 is enough (unless you like diving) the "dual glass sandwich" is another trand Huawei is following (like the notch) but since this is a camera phone you won't use it in heavyduty and the printe job looks AWESOME I don't mind the notch since you can turn it of will still displaying the icons and the AMOLED screen helps a lot at display the notch without losing battery the front finger print looks UGLY and unpractical because it is really hard to hold the phone with one hand to scan the finger (specially with have class and screen size) yes it is fast BUT you have to sweep on the sensor so if someone have %30 much of your fingerprint he can unlock it so full back finger print sensor with water proof coating (like ZTE ZMAX PRO) is MUCH batter and don't forget the size of the "CHIN" :P the chipset is a bit outdated but hi you don't use all thst power don't you? plus it came out after the SD835 and it has AI processor so it isn't that old so for haters you can buy Samsung/Sony/Apple etc... but you can check DxOmark for a prove on the camera proformence ;-)

  • Very interesting phone but unfortunately there is too much controversy right now to use a Chinese smartphone in the US

  • Radio? please... welcome to internet.

  • Me too. Having scrollable either side of the notch is funny idea but apart from that its like a creating unfinnished game which needs a lot of work to complete.

  • Well yes. Even thinking that i have a notch brings a headache :-)

  • Radio - no?

  • Everything is about cloud storage now. SD card slot is old tech that will be going. Also having an old SD card with slow speeds will affect your Smartphone, in fact it will slow down your Smartphone.

  • Agree mate, phone are like televisions design is very limited because its all about the screen that is important. Phone design is obsolete and for me it doesn't matter as long as they look neat well arranged and balanced. I can appreciate them.

  • If there is a proof why its still coming and becoming a giant now. All existing giants are moving at its best to suppress the incoming one. That the real story behind that malware as they call it.

  • last year Huawei was speaking about how their phone didn't have a camera hump. this year they have a camera hump. why did they ditch micro SD card?. it would been perfect if it was there. I don't mind the notch. its not as big as iPhone notch. and there is an option to hide it in the settings so its fine for me.
