Huawei Y560 - User Reviews

  • Cons: (1) over half of the 8GB if internal memory is taken up by non-removable software, leaving very little for additional apps, video, music, etc. Even if you move everything you can to the SD card, the biggest problem is that all apps want to to install on internal memory, and you w will constantly have to delete some apps to upload or even update others. (2) the battery barely lasts a day, definitely not a full day of continued use. Other than that, it is perfectly fine.

  • Does the phone support scream mirroring?

  • 1.2GB of the "8GB" storage available before installing anything (only 4 of that "8GB" is even visible to the phone). Installing to SD card disabled, apps have trouble seeing the SD card to use for storage. Even with its horrible screen, I prefer my Homtom HT26.

  • No, it doesn't have a notification led.

  • Dear not 4G show plz help me

  • hi does this phone have notification light for messages received? thanks

  • How to update huawei

  • My Huawei Y560 was locked with Google account how will I open it

  • U go to settings, memory and change default to sd card... Or if u talking about apps. You go to settings, manage apps when u see the app u want to move u press on it then they'll give u option to move to sd card

  • how do move my internal storage to my sd card.

  • my phone is a android kitkat operating system *** how to update my phone

  • how do ip update my yd560

  • my huawei y5 has just freezed

  • 560 is not connecting to computer

  • For some reason my 560 is not connecting to computer. Anyone out can resolve for me.

  • i think its amazing how durable is it. i was rollerskating in the house he fell out of my hands on screen under our end table he still didn't have a scratch on it. love it

  • This phone is a total crap Overheating when data is on Keeps freezing Typing not smooth Blur camera

  • I do not have this model but try to delete old messages,if they are not important. Maybe you modified something in Messages settings

  • wipe the phone

  • you should try reset the phone first.

  • I cannot receive text messages on my handset and its been a while now, please help

  • Sorry I no longer have a y560, so doing this of the top of my head. In the settings menu, you should have an option for 'storage' or 'phone storage' (something like that) you now have to choose the ad card as your default storage (I think you just have to tick or highlight the ad card to do this) Hope this helps but if anyone has the y560 in front of them could you please help by being more precise than I have been. Thank you.

  • My wife has one of these, GOOD, but can not enter facebook, nor send audios or photos by wsapp, nor does it allow you to take photos porq the memory is full !!! (He says the device), even though he has an 8 gig card almost empty, he can not configure it so that everything goes to the card, and tells him that he is out of memory when the card is empty !!! Does anyone know how to make it work and that it fits the whole card ?? ' And so use the applications ?? thank you very much

  • With respect I don't agree. I'm minted, you get what you pay for with a few exceptions in life. Don't get me wrong the Y56O certainly represents great value for money and you can pick it up at a bargain price, but compare it to something like the new Samsung S6 edge or even the older S6 edge, they are worlds apart, the S6 edge for example came out just over 2 years ago and can handle latest nougat OP, the display is 4K, its encased in luxurious gorilla 4 glass (back and front) a sheer delight to hold in the hand, WoW and as I said its over 2 years old. I would argue you get what you pay for.

  • I think more people should start buying cheaper mobile phones. Then the mobile vendors will either drop their HUGE prices or stop selling mobiles that cost R10000 - R12000 for a phone (which is a rip off for such a small device).

  • That's why I rather buy huawei

  • The Y560 display might not be the best, but honestly you only notice it if you play games or view pictures, for everyday usage, you won't need an HD display anyways.

  • Most mobile shops or should have it now.

  • Using custom roms (unofficial), might be worth of a try, but don't complain if you brick your phone or you get slow response. There is people who are able to reload operating system with custom rom (and the phone responds faster and not bricked), but it's not for the average user out there, also don't download custom rom from any website, you might regret it.

  • Must agree, this phone has had no updates for the past 14 months I've got mine, which is something every mobile phone owner hopes for.

  • It's unfair comparing a Y560 to a Google Nexus, hardware wise its much like comparing a 1.2L car to a 2.0L, not to mention Google Nexus runs pure android, no software on-top of it.

  • Just bought a Y560 cover 2 days ago, many mobile accessories shops should have them, same goes for screen protectors.

  • Hi JoWood, I just love reading your reply. Instead of paying R15000 for a phone, I'd pay R10000 for a laptop, and R5000 for a 40" Samsung TV, don't you agree. The max I'd pay for a mobile phone is R2500 (being fussy), else R1200.

  • Why don't you connect the mobile phone to the aux. port of your car radio (via USB cable).

  • The Y560 has been discontinued. This happens due to new models coming out every few months. It's just like with cars, only the rate at which phone models are replaced is much faster.

  • I don't play games, but my battery never overheats when charging it. Perhaps your battery has an issue, who knows. Perhaps the heavy usage of games has hammered your battery. Remove your battery, clean the metal contacts on phone and battery with dry - clean cloth, put back battery and try. If it takes 1-2 hours to charge, disconnect charger after 2 hours, don't leave your phone connected to battery charger for hours, unless you want to toast your battery (this applies to all mobile / cell - phones).

  • Remove battery, clean contacts, put back battery. Also, remove sim card, put it back. Now switch on phone, go to menu where it says reset, reset phone. If still giving issues, try another sim card, if still gives issues, take for repair.

  • I use internet, whatsapp, download app from play store, internet is very fast. Perhaps you should try another ISP or sim card.

  • Got mine for 14 months, no heating issues, no data issues (internet, whatsapp). *** Perhaps when commenting on this site, please state if you play games that are heavy on phone processor or if you replaced the phones software. ***

  • Got mine for 14 months, no heating problems, no issues at all.

  • Hi afyo, I've had mine for 14 months, NO issues at all. Try another sim card, test a different areas, if still bad signal or restart, take it to Huawei service center or to the place you bought if from.

  • Guys i need help, i lost my phone today and it is still ringing, can you please help and trace it please guys

  • Forgot to get a case for it the first day, dropped it the first day, got marks on the plastic casing. I've dropped this phone a thousand times it seems... screen has never cracked, but chunks have been taken out of the sides of it and the back casing tends to fly off. Despite that, the phone works perfectly. I think the fact that it's so light weight, plastic and easily falls apart is actually what keeps its from breaking internally when it hits the ground and flies apart. I use it as my make-shift internet service provider, and as that I use about 90GB a month on the free plan as a hot spot to my laptops... it works great. It's better in the country side as there are less people per tower, but it still works most of the time in the city. That said, I live on a hill. Ask a friend what service provider they have and see if they get signal at your house before you buy.

  • Its a good phone. But i have one probleme with it. When il want tout make a phone call , i have to restart my device or else i cant make my call. Is enyone have the same probleme

  • The mobile which I am using now that Huawei Y560 U-02 its to good and it easy to use.....

  • After upgrading my phone have just realised how plasic this phone is.

  • Huawei is better because its smooth and it does not heat up easily.

  • Do you have 4g switched on? Are you in an area where you can get 4g?

  • I can't get 4g in my huawei y560 - u02

  • Be careful of what you uninstall after rooting the device, don't go near the system apps as it could crash the system!

  • Regarding the bloatware, install Kingroot and uninstall all you want!

  • Which is better huawei Y560 or Alcatel pixi 4.? i don't expect much since it just budget, but just worth the price, huawei use snapdragon while alcatel use mediatek, what really concern me is battery life and heat issue, which last longer with smooth performance.

  • Still Choosing Huawei Y5c Or Huawei Y560.I Know Y560 Got 4G Capable And Known Chipset Using Qualcom.Does Any Phone Owners Have Heat Problem?Model Y560?And How About Battery Life.Coz I Dont Want Have Heating And Fast Drain Battery Life Issue.Like Mine Huawei Honor 4C.Can Anyone Already Using It Giving Opinion?

  • this mobile not bad .but when we charge or use it hot's a lot front cemara not good ram should be 2Gb .

  • I got the new version, which has 8 mp camera, with auto focus and dual flash

  • Love this phone just a little laggy and all. How do u upgrade the phone and I found it get hot a lot

  • It's an ok phone. Camera is ok if you aren't expecting to win any photography awards. Front camera is weak. Comes with a bunch of bloat. However it does allow for some of it to be removed, but only some. Heats up A LOT. When charging or playing heavier games. (I've even put it on a cooling pad at times.) Some apps, despite the Move to SD card option available, simply will not move. Battery life is good if you don't play games or use many apps. It will last you all day.Buuuuut... Not my case, so I find myself charging 2 even 3 times a day. SD card slot is horribly placed. Inside the cover AND to make matters worse card can only be removed by removing the battery. I find the touch screen is a little temperamental and will act up if the glass is not sparkling clean. Overall a decent phone for a decent price. Basic users can buy it and they will love it.

  • Nice phone. good camera good sound battery is not nice little leating issue

  • weight is too high

  • Nice phone with nice features at a very minimal price. Now y560 02 is also available

  • On 01 st December I bought this phone. I was using a Galaxy S 3 from October 2013. Which dead slow now. But S3 camera is superb and display also outstanding. I decided to buy a secondary phone. I bought Huawei Y560 U02 for SAR 199. Which is an offer price. Before it was SAR 269. I got 70 SAR discount. My first impressions are.. Nice and compact size. Good camera (My phone has 8 mp with dual flash ncoz of latest version). Amazing sound quality through headphone (I checked with a panasonic headphones) Good quality screen. though built unlike samsung we can delete apps which are pre installed. Negatives are.. Front cam is little dull as compared to S3. (Both have 2 mp front cam). Bundled headphones are just average. (Good for our ears though). No fast charger. Charger output is just 0.5 amp. Now a days 2.1 is very common. Battery is 1730, mah in newer version. But not to worry bcoz it is not a Mediatek chipset inside. Final words.. Best phone with in 200 SAR (3600 INR or 52 USD). Competition offers 5 MP back cam and VGA front with 4 GB internal memory. This one has 8, mp back, 2 MP front with 8 GB internal and 1 GB RAM. Compare with Lenovo A1000, Panasonic T 30, Alcatel Pixi First, Lenovo A 319, Panasonic T 44 etx and see which is best

  • Take your videos or music to your other card and then remove by holding it in

  • I can't delete video or music from the external SD card, what can I do

  • fantastc

  • Does it work fine? Do you have any bugs or problems that you noticed?

  • I don't think an OTA is available, but some tutorials on-line claim that they can upgrade it to Marsh mellow.

  • I have a Huawei Y560 with CM13 installed on it. Use recovery and fastboot to unlock the bootloader and stuff as normal, then flash and use that to install

  • I noticed that the bottom touch buttons are slow to respond when the phone is vertical, but act normal if I support it with my other hand or placed on a flat surface (except for the back button). Is it usually like this or there is something wrong with my handset?

  • Good phone Could you Help me to upgrade it to Android Maeshall 6.0 please ??

  • Has anyone managed to install a custom ROM on it? I have the Y560 U2 running Kitkat 4.4.2 If anyone managed to do it succesfully please contact me :)

  • I must not agree with u unfortunetly. I have my phone since February this year and i never had a problem with sound or internet or anything, infact i think this my best buy.

  • it is superbbbbb mobile...............cheap price.....it is worth for that priceee

  • is this th only problem u had with the phone ?

  • Do not buy this crappy phone. had it for almost two months. (1) Whenever i play music on my headphones, the music level keeps changing while playing a song. You have to open a web browser in order for the volume to be stable. (2) I paired it with my VW polo Vivo radio via bluetooth to play some music, my radio went into safe mode. For those of you who dont know what safe mode is: Anti theft for car radios. Popular with VW's and Audi's. Safe mode means i have look for a code in my service book only to find that bloody VW hasn't provided me with. Now i must drive 200 km to the nearest VW to get it rebooted. I thought i was the only one. When i told my friend, who also drives a polo vivo and uses this useless piece of crap of a phone, his car also went to safe mode due to pairing.

  • I got one yesterday at Total Sports Maponya Mall. R899.

  • nice phone in such a price, camera is not bad at all, but 4.5 screen seems too small, so overall, its fine

  • Yea my girl friend has the phone and is playing pokemon go like theres no tomorrow

  • MTN shops, Jet Cellular - sure they are elsewhere, as well.

  • Where did you pick this up for R899? Seems like a good deal

  • How are you able to run pokemon go without a compass?

  • I can't access pokemon go due to gps, did you encounter this problem?

  • Nice phone but having trouble with GPS, can't seem to locate my device. Advice please

  • I , personally, would like to say that (a) you get exactly whut you pay for (b) The Y560 does not ask too much of us in a monetary sense. This phone, for its price ( under R1000 ZAR) , is a masterpiece . At R899.99 this device offers 4.5" inches of straight screen, backed up by 1gb of ram and 1.1 gigahertz managed by a sophisticated quad-core cpu. Standard with 5.1.1 Lollipop makes this mobile device the great purchase for those looking for something bigger(screen size of entry lvl androids usually < 4.0") that can run most apps being developed now.

  • Bought this for my wife since it's cheap smartphone. But since it uses Emui 3.1 lite you can't have timed mute for notifications and calls...bah...it's annoying if you get lot of emails at nights and forget to mute it manually. And then you have to unmute it at morning.

  • Someone please help me I've tried everything but my ogt cable does not work on my y560 I've tired all the rooters and apps nothing seems to work please help

  • I've just ditched my iPhone 6 for this phone. The iPhone is now about a year and a half old. Firstly the specs of this phone, with the exception of the camera, ROM, screen size and screen res, generally exceed that of the iPhone. However there is a big difference between the cost of the iPhone and the cost of this handset. Coming from iPhone, the screen and camera are not as good - but lets keep in mind the price point here. For the rest, for someone that does not do gaming etc with a phone and needs it for communication and some web surfing - this phone is great. In fact it picks up LTE more easily than the iPhone ever did which is key if you're using this for internet and any IM apps. For the price, it is brilliant.

  • I brought this phone a couple of months ago... its a good phone... but the battery and signal and time at the top of the screen keeps disappearing... and the screen keeps going blank... dose anyone no what the problem is please... ?

  • Just reset the phone same thing happened to me after bypassing FRP but went to settings to reset it the right way and it was terrific again

  • The phone has no compass.

  • I have just purchased the Huawei Y560, and without me actually using it to make any calls, or spend time on the internet, the battery drops from 100% to less than 12% in approximately eight hours. Is that normal or a failing battery?

  • Try buying it from vendors on the street some1 got his there cz he couldn't find it in the shops.

  • I have gone from owning a2 year old nexus 5 to one of these... Initially, what irks me is that you are forced to agree to usage and I formation gathering terms and conditions on first startup. That said, its not a terrible phone. It is somewhat slow if you're used to a snappy, pure google android experience. The keyboard is laggy, the custom software is laggy... It just doesnt feel like a quad core processor. Also, good luck getting covers. ...or screen protectors. On the upside, the battery life is pretty good, and its actually not a bad looking or feeling phone. Ultimately though, I would suggest spending a little more and trying to get something a little more... Well, just more. I needed a phone asap for cash and this was the best I could get in the price range (R1500) at the time - nothing else in stock for cash.

  • Maybe will be a update to marshmallow, but first needs some updates to the system remember that is in emui 3.1 lite,,,, the processor is in range of nokia lumia series with windows 8.1.1-8.1-8 so don`t expect something big. Personally don`t like emui, prefer pure android- cheep phone.

  • Will the upgrade to android marshmallow be there people?

  • from which country?

  • I think you must say,Front cam is not quality!

  • Good phone to hard user!Bt front camera is quality,And so poor display quality! Not a bad phone bcz it is chep!

  • I bought one its 1730mAh and camera is 8 and 2M front

  • I lost the optimize app on my screen i dont know where to find it

  • First opinion, very solid piece, stable system low crashes of emui 3.1 lite.. this Ui is very hard for this configuration. Will be more stable if it will run a pure android lollipop 5.1.1. LCD screen is a old technology so there is a big mistake, after all is a solid piece of phone. I recommend to a non aggressive users. there are som blogs with a custom roms unofficial, like cyanogen rom 12 and 13. worth of a try. thanks

  • True dat good and affordable phone

  • Can't find cover for this phone in S. Africa

  • in term of price/quality back camera is medium but front is poor phone speed is good , battery medium it take 5h30min on wifi connection

  • Where can I find a punk huawei y560? Does anyone know

  • Y5 display is very POOR, even Laggy-Sammy's J1 has a better & brighter display! Sammy has an LED display, not the watery LCD of the Huawei. Snapdragon 210 is even more reason not to waste your money on this.

  • Saw it at Edgars today, what an UGLY fone!!! It's heavy, thick & made of horrible-looking plastic. Say nothing about EMUI, look bad. But at R999, this sounds like a hanger, what with the Dragon-210! I'll wait a while & see if MTN & Vodacom brings J1-Nxt & J1-2016!

  • Skype would KILL this fone, at 115MB, it will hang for days! I wouldn't recommend you use Skype with this.

  • I wanna go buy myself one of this device, checking your comments here i am interested. thank you ppl

  • Its the perfect phone, cheap, works perfectly nd yeah love it

  • Which one is better? Huawei Y15 or Vivo Y5?

  • Cheap ph shud b use for basic apps, i think u expect too much fr a cheap ph..

  • Something must be wrong with your phone because im typing this on internet while music player is playing with no problems....i think you may have too many apps installed which runs in background and killing ram..... Been using this phone everyday for a while now with no problems.... O and my camera is pretty good...... Strange haha

  • if you playing music and trying to go to internet . the music app jams and give scratches. that very bad coz that mean you cant do internet and music at the same time. the 3.5 camera of a blackberry curve is better.

  • People should remember this phone only costs R999... Which other phone is better at that price? Nothing....

  • I purchased mine on 11/15 and my parents purchased theirs on 12/15. They are all satisfied. I am mostly happy. Disadvantages: camera has no macro and its quality is near to poor. When taking pics from A4, text is only seldom readable. Sometimes phone also nags for 1-5 secs. Speaker-HF quality is so poor that it can not be used in any serious matter. For this price, overall experience is excellent. With a bit better camera, I could easily imagine this is 150-200€ phone.

  • WOW! great phone!

  • I have been using this phone for a few months now and compare to the Samsung j1 ace its far better and faster. I have seen 2 out 5 j1 ace being returned for repair and has not seen one y560 comeback yet. its easy to use and easy to afford

  • am happy with it. I think Huawei has made a really afforadable smartphone

  • I totally agree. I could not bring myself to pay for the iphone 6s and this made a much better option given the price

  • Value for money. I was torn with the price of iphone and I simply went for this one at it costs less than 10% the price of iphone 6s

  • I bought this mobile hoping to be better from Y3. but found this is worse than Y3. it is not lollipop. complete lagroid. I use imo messenger on y3 and working good. in this Y5 i see the picture before i hear the voice in imo. battery is like petromax. within two hours drained eventhough on wi-fi. i disappointed from this piece of huawei. 1GB ram is useless here. in the browser there is no flash player support. internet radio pages those work on flash player are not playing. i lost my money. my first bad experience with huawei......

  • Gives the "Big Boys" a run for there money. The best Lte phone in it's price range.
