Jolla Jolla C - User Reviews

  • Well, sort of. Sailfish OS (full version) will only work if you provide your IMEI, which Jolla will store god knows where. You will not be able to install any apps from Jolla store without this. Also, full version costs 50 EUR for non-Jolla phones, so Jolla will also store your payment details. And we are saying Google is big brother :(

  • i won't exchange that for a fluid and lag-free experience. I don't play games, a few social apps would have no problem running on Sailfish. Literally fed up with Android but would never change to iOS. Maybe I would try WP but not now.

  • Actual hardware is ALWAYS better than emulators.

  • Sailfish OS can use emulated Android apps albeit with no GP support. Both OS have the same root, after all.

  • Down with app support and rise for practically no app support? No thanks.

  • i am using aquafish very nice phone.. awesome OS . i like this sailfish os..plz get update upcoming phones in india with various mobile company coz this phone camera is very poor

  • Unfortunately I had to sell my Intex Aqua Fish (rebranded Jolla C) due to lack of VoLTE.. and it wasn't enabling 4G data on Jio 4G carrier. Sailfish OS felt like I'm using a phone from the future. Using gestures to interact with the user interface felt really cool. It was buttery smooth and never felt laggy on the low end hardware.. Sailfish OS felt like a breeze of fresh air among the vast sea of Android devices. I wish I still had this phone with me. Hope Jolla manages to release a better Jolla C pretty soon.

  • This phone actually has FM radio with very good reception

  • This phone is like a sport car - need a good driver

  • This phone is like a sport car - need a good driver

  • it seems an ok mid tier phone no problem I think with this one

  • I wish the same. Sailfish OS is very futuristic, easy to use, smooth, light weight and love the multitasking experience on this OS. Intex Aqua Fish user (Rebranded Jolla C).

  • nice

  • I hope this Sailfish gonna be pick up by Nokia. Down with slow and laggy Android!

  • I wish you all good. Good luck with the OS. I want to see more options , not just android and ios.

  • Hi there U r lucky at a price of 4999inr specs are good or else u have to waste 10000 for same 2gb 16 gb but with 13 mpx. So lets be happy as in due course of time Linux will be the king of mobile os wit refreshed look and feel and this is its humble binging. I love it just awsome as my remix os on my pc.

  • Did anyone get 2.0.4.xx Fiskarsinjoki update for Intex Aqua Fish? I'm unable to use Jio 4G Internet on my Intex Aqua Fish (Rebranded Jolla C) and badly want a fix. I don't know if the chipset supports VoLTE but if it does, hope there will be a software update to enable VoLTE support on the Intex Aqua Fish. Also it would be cool if I can get early access software updates for my Intex Aqua Fish.

  • Yep...this phone is not for everyone who wants to use it as a regular phone . .there are too many bugs ..main problem is memory card can't use with Android apps like mx player ,es file manager etc....even in default camera app..you have not to expect all things are work flawlessly ...if you want phone for regular use DON'T GO FOR IT ... IT'S AN EXPERIMENTAL BABY.....

  • Just remember to uninstall the Gaana app. It's a useless bloatware Intex put into this nice device.

  • Got the Intex Aqua Fish yesterday.... Works wonderfully well... Extremely simple... The best value for money phone till date.

  • Thanks for the tips! Given I could not get a Jolla C I went for an Intex aqua fish. Just dispatched from Dehli it should take a while to reach Costa Rica but I already want to see what native options I could have!

  • Just got an Intex the other day, very happy so far. Most whizz-bang handset out there? Hell no...but if you're reading this, chances are you don't care about that anyway. Great value!

  • If you ever want a native Sailfish YouTube client then go for YTPlayer from Open Repository. It's an excellent YouTube client for Sailfish. Similarly for Telegram you can go for Jollagram which is a native Sailfish build of Telegram. And go for Prostogram if you want a native Instagram client. There's even a Tinder client called Sailfinder and Reddit client called Quickddit. Do remember to install Warehouse for SailfishOS from Open Repository to ensure latest updates.

  • Hello guys, please have a look at this thread at Jolla & Sailfish OS Forum. I have listed almost all the features that everyone wants in the next version of Sailfish OS. Don't forget to cast your votes.

  • I got the Intex Aqua Fish for about 5200 INR on Snapdeal a week ago. As it is a rebranded Jolla C, the design is same but as you said the back cover is orange with an Intex logo engraved in metallic silver words is present below the camera, it doesn't look that bad and if someone wants, they can peel off the logo quite easily. In fact the design looks standout to me because it's a simple and elegant and is rectangular with no curved edges. At the end, everyone has different design preferences. I bought this phone only because of the Sailfish OS 2.0 and I'm using it as my primary phone along with a Redmi Note 3. Have been a fan ever since Jolla announced themselves but couldn't get the Jolla phone that was released in India through Snapdeal so opted for this phone. The unique thing is the Sailfish OS. It didn't take me more than 5-10 minutes to be familiar with the OS. So far I find Sailfish OS 2.0 to be a very nice, user friendly OS with real multitasking capabilities as you can enjoy live multitasking, no lagging at all except a little bit in the settings app, the UI relies on gesture or swipe based navigation and is button less, this ensures better one handed usage and being used to Sailfish OS, I no longer like to use Android phones. Another nice thing is that the OS supports Android apps so you won't feel App-less but some Android apps like Xender & Shareit don't work (aren't able to create Wi-Fi Hotspot) though it is a bit less in features compared to Android but with software updates things will definitely get better. Android phones come with a bunch of Google crapware installed which are mostly useless to me as I only use the web version of Gmail & Youtube and sometimes the Play Store. Thankfully Sailfish OS doesn't come with Google crapwares installed. I am compiling a list of features that are needed and will be posting it on the Sailfish Forum soon.

  • Indeed, however when it was rebadged as Intex Aqua Fish they changed the body color to Orange and added a bunch of oddball manufacturer logos to otherwise nice and clean design of Jolla C which looks really ugly, this is my only gripe with Aqua Fish otherwise it's a nice phone for it's price. In India the price has dropped further to mere Rs 4500 which equals to a mere $ 67.30 which is damn cheap. And as far as smoothness is considered it works smoother than Lumia 650 and 640 which cost more than twice of its price.

  • In India, Jolla C is sold as Intex Aqua Fish. I've ordered it and waiting for it to arrive to experience Sailfish OS 2.0. (:

  • The multitasking menu looks and feels quite similar to BlackBerry 10.

  • No the hardware isn't powerful at all, it's just that Sailfish OS is damn lightweight.

  • Oops my bad, they had a discount coupon code for this phone and after applying that the price reduces to mere Rs 4950, which is merely $ 73.75. At such a low price I'm fine with buying this device. And since in India it is sold rebadged via Intex brand so unlike the European Jolla C the one available here got 1 year warranty.

  • In India this phone is still available although they have partnered with a brand called Intex and have rebadged it. The rebadged variant of this phone is known as Intex Aqua Fish and it's available at an extremely low price of Rs 5499 which is almost equal to mere $ 81.9.

  • dear jolla, can you improve the specs and get rid of sailfish os 2.0! for the next jolla? no i cannot tolerate the os and specs 8mp to 20mp hd to 2160x3840 uhd! and snapdragon 823!

  • Sold out already, only 1000 will be made. Jolla doesn't need to sell this phone widely, they just want to focus on the software of Sailfish by gathering feedback from these phones and users, all to improve the OS.

  • Best multitask menu ever in smartphones - icons for the opened apps stand in their place and the last used app does not replace the previous in menu.

  • Community developers are buying it and it is already sold out. Only offered 1000 units.

  • This would not have made the grade 3 to 4 years ago, let alone now.

  • The OS is very light weight and is pure Linux. No Java virtual machines :)

  • Who's buying this unless it's like $40

  • Either this is as powerful as a 2 stone bouncer or the Jolla O/S is very lightweight.

  • Gpu is worse than that of the first jolla phone?

  • Why would anybody ever trust Jolla after the way they screwed over their most loyal customers with the tablet? Jolla is just a shell corporation for the Russian government at this point. Five years after the inception and we've yet to get the source code for the entire stack. They are Europe's version of Occulus Rift.

  • Aren't 200 series chips intended more for cameras and other simpler devices?

  • @leonard80 thats my question too! who buys this ?!! :O

  • Who buys this?

  • @Highlander1978 1000 units do not mean business. These units target a small developer community who appreciate a good linux OS, more than other warranties ... Anyhow, these 1k units have been sold out now. BTW, unit have 2G of RAM and FM Radio as well.

  • No, no, no. We want a high-end device, not a low-end one dear Jolla. This is not better than the first Jolla.

  • Great, what the worlds really needed was another mediocre, 5'' 720p device...

  • 1000 units only to be available and no warranty provided ... ohh Jolla ... not the proper way to do business!
